【Arthur's Journey Through the Warcraft Encyclopedia】(1)

Author: Mechanical God Creator Word Count: 5499
Chapter 1: Desert Island The scorching
sun made the sand on the beach scalding hot. On the other side of the sea floated broken planks… and the wreckage of ships.
A large, slightly swaying wine barrel was pushed ashore by the waves…
++++++ Two nights ago, accompanied by a violent storm… lightning and thunder, a ship carrying 'cargo' was torn to pieces.
Soya was one of these 'cargo,' a lowly slave, a man with little education.
Upon hearing the storm alarm, he stuffed himself into a wine barrel, and after a day and a night of drifting, he finally reached the shore.
Soya didn't know his origins; his understanding of this world came solely from the stories told by the older and newly captured slaves.
This world has many islands, large and small, but the most important is the continent called Waterfar. Here, there is a clear hierarchy, even among slaves there is brutal competition. Moreover, this world is home to terrifying and powerful magical beasts, and churches, merchant alliances, and guilds scattered throughout the world…
Some merchants, for several times the profit, risk everything, carrying various goods across the sea, evading sea creatures, to conduct trade.

Bang!
Soya forcefully pried open the barrel lid, sticking his head out. The blazing sun stung his eyes, making it impossible to open them.
Snap! The barrel lid fell, hitting him squarely on the head. 'Ouch!' Soya's head tilted to the side, and he was knocked back into the barrel. The beach fell silent again, as if nothing had changed…
After a while, he climbed out of the barrel, stretching his muscular body on the sand. Being curled up in the barrel for a day and a night had left his body somewhat numb.
Soya nervously looked around. It was desolate, with only the sea.
"So thirsty, I need water, be careful. Be careful…" Soya muttered to himself, feeling dizzy.
He rested for a while before getting up, then picked up a tree trunk to use as a weapon and cautiously advanced.
Soon, a person came into his view, lying face down in the water, letting the waves wash over him.
He approached the person and discovered that he was actually a high-ranking slave.
Soya's heart tightened! There was oppression even among slaves; strong, high-ranking slaves forced lower-ranking slaves to do more work for them, and if they didn't comply, they would be beaten. As long as they weren't crippled or killed, the slave owners usually turned a blind eye. "
I won't listen to them this time, I won't be a slave anymore," he told himself.
Soya recalled the days he had been humiliated, and although he knew that what he saw before him was a corpse, he still imagined him as a living person, walking towards him like an old friend.
"Ah! What a nice day!!" He poked the person with the tree trunk. But there was no response.
He turned the person over; the person's face was completely swollen from being submerged in water, indicating that he had been dead for a long time.
The God of Light was above, and Soya breathed a sigh of relief. This wasn't the first time he had seen a corpse.
He compared the man's feet to his own; lower-class slaves didn't have shoes. Soya took off his shoes—they were a bit big, but tightening them was fine. He dragged the corpse to the shore, dug a hole with a broken plank, and buried him. If the dead aren't buried promptly, they'll absorb dark elements and become walking corpses…
Then Soya continued his search, hoping to find something useful.
Although only 15 years old, Soya's life as a slave had made him far stronger and more adept at the rules of survival than most children his age.
The long search yielded no results, but he didn't lose heart.
Soon, a second person appeared. The man lay on the sand; judging by his clothing, he was a foreman, clutching a plank.
The foreman was the slaves' superior, his words almost deciding their life or death.
The man lay on the sand, his chest rising and falling slightly. Soya moved closer and recognized him.
His heart clenched violently. This man was Gangfu, the ruthless foreman on the ship, who supposedly possessed a knife that dripped blood every day…
Thump. Thump. Soya felt his heart was about to leap out of his chest.
Soya resisted the urge to run away and stared at him for a long time, his gaze cold and menacing. He quietly approached, picked up a large rock, and hurled it at the man, but accidentally crushed a seashell in the process. Gangfu 's
eyes snapped open! He pulled out a knife from behind his back, but it was too late. The rock shattered his skull, and his brains splattered everywhere... He was dead beyond any doubt.
Soya thought to himself, "That was close! You damned one-eyed idiot, you really had a trick up your sleeve.
" Soya tried to take the knife from his hand, but he couldn't pry it open. The man wouldn't let go. Enraged, Soya picked up a large rock and stormed over. "Try this!" At that moment, the foreman actually let go...
Soya frowned. "You're dead, you won't feel any pain!" Then he threw the rock aside...
He got the knife and buried the foreman.
The search continued, and at the end of the shallows, he found a floating wooden barrel.
He quickly went into the water. Slaves raised by the sea were all good swimmers; the seawater was clear, and many fish swam beneath. Soya approached the wooden bucket and discovered it contained ordinary fresh water.
Soon, the bucket was pulled ashore. The lid was opened, and Soya scooped up the water and drank deeply. "So sweet!"
After drinking, Soya sat on the beach, hugging the bucket. He suddenly realized... No one recognized him except the foreman. Was he truly free?
Only three people controlled these slaves: one employer, one thug, one foreman, and a few crew members. Yet, these few people had kept the fifteen slaves from rebelling...
—Chapter
Two: Fighting the Monster
. Soya looked around. The whip was gone, and everyone else was gone.
He returned to the bucket, drank some water, and then found a secluded, cool spot to lie down. He was exhausted.
He quickly fell asleep, only to be awakened by the cold evening wind.
Soya, knife in hand, carrying the half-full bucket of water, walked towards the woods, away from the chilly beach.
He hadn't gone far when he heard a rustling sound behind him. He quickly dodged.
A beast resembling a wolf appeared before him. The beast had black stripes on its orange body and emitted a growling warning.
Soya was terrified and pointed his stick at the monster.
Seeing Soya's threat, the monster opened its mouth and fired a fireball at him with lightning speed, then pounced.
Soya blocked with his stick.
*Crack!* Instantly, the stick burst into flames and snapped in two. His chest was also burned by the sparks.
Seeing the wolf pounce, Soya was startled and quickly dodged, spilling the bucket of water he was carrying.
The monster saw the water, let out a strange cry, and quickly twisted its body to avoid the water.
Soya calmed down and realized that the monster seemed afraid of water, so he quickly hugged the bucket tightly, facing the monster.
The monster fired another fireball, "Awooo!" Soya was hit in the arm, and his body was immediately burned, bleeding profusely. He quickly took off his burning clothes and poured water on himself.
In his agony, Soya realized he had to kill the beast to survive.
He used the last of the water in the bucket to wet his clothes.
Soya swung his wet clothes at the monstrous dog.
The wolf launched another fireball at him, this time weaker and slower. Soya dodged and used the opportunity to rush forward.
Man and monster clashed. Soya struck the monstrous dog on the head with his wet clothes. The wolf howled, releasing steam, its scalding claws leaving three deep wounds on Soya's arm and chest.
"Damn dog!" Soya roared, desperately covering its head with his clothes, enduring the monster's claws, then drew his knife and plunged it into the dog's abdomen.
Three thuds.
The monstrous dog struggled violently. Soya frantically held it down, straddling the monster. After a while, the monster was noticeably weaker.
Soya used his wet clothes to strangle the dog's neck, stabbing it several more times.
...It stopped moving.
Soya collapsed as if all his strength had been drained, his face contorted in pain. "It hurts! I'm injured! The forest is too dangerous! Ahhh, I'm dying! Where is the God of Light…"
Soya trembled, tears streaming down his face as he struggled to his feet.
"I'm going to eat you," Soya glared at the monster. Dragging the
monster's corpse, he picked up a burning stick and returned to the small grove by the sea, where it seemed safe.
He quickly tended to his wounds, then gathered some dry branches to make a fire and roasted the monster.
Although it didn't taste very good, as a slave, being able to eat meat was already a great relief.
Then Soya discovered a crystal core inside the monster's body. Only then did Soya realize that it was a magical beast, and he had actually killed one, even if it was 'weak'.
The monster's meat would speed up his recovery, and the crystal core was valuable; he carefully stored it away.
Soya ate and rested at the same time. After eating half the beast's meat, he felt his strength had recovered considerably, and he wiped his mouth with a lingering sense of satisfaction.
He found a tall tree and hid there to spend the night.
But the night wasn't easy.
Exhausted, bitten by mosquitoes, and with his wounds throbbing, the strange cries of wild beasts kept him on edge.
He even hallucinated three masked skulls circling around him…
Several hours later, extreme mental fatigue and drowsiness brought tears to his eyes, and he finally closed them.
…Soya entered a strange world where everything was reversed; for example, people could walk upside down with their feet in the air, or walk on walls; water and waterfalls flowed upwards. At the end of his aimless wandering, he encountered a terrifying dragon monster radiating immense power, the dragon god who controlled life and death—Giratina…

The next day, the sun slowly rose, and the warm sunlight raised the temperature on the island. Soya, hiding in the tree trunk, was awakened by the sunlight.
He vaguely remembered having a dream last night, but couldn't recall it.
"Time to get to work?" Soya frowned.
"...No!" he muttered, denying himself in a strange tone. After drinking, he climbed down from the tree, but he was shocked!
"Oh! Who stole my meat?! Damn it!" Soya remembered wrapping the meat in leaves and placing it under the tree...
Now he had to find some food.
Recalling the strange dog that breathed fire yesterday, Soya tied half a bucket of water to his back.
To determine the size of the island, Soya decided to go to a higher place.
"There's a small hill there, that's it." Soya confirmed his destination.
Holding a wooden stick and a knife, he was constantly on guard about his surroundings.
The hillside was a bit steep, so Soya put down the bucket of water and nimbly climbed up. In a flat area, he found a cave, which looked like it had been made by a meteorite.
The cave was about 5 meters long. Inside, Soya found a strange rectangular object, next to which was a pile of ancient bones...
Curious, Soya picked up the cube, and with a strange flash of light, the cube opened.
Inside lay a ring-shaped bracelet, inlaid with a lifelike snake head, its surface composed of countless intricate scales.
—Chapter Three: The Ultra-Tech Bracelet
"It's a treasure!!" Soya exclaimed excitedly, picking it up.
But unexpectedly, the bracelet suddenly came to life! It bit and gripped Soya's wrist, coiling itself around it…
Soya was terrified! He shook it frantically, screaming, "Ah! Ah!! Ahhh!!! Ah!!"
The snake finally clung to Soya's wrist, causing him to faint from fright…
The Snake-ARF Discoverer System is an auxiliary device used by alien adventurers. It extracts the genes of ancient serpent beasts from Planet M, using bioengineering to create an exploration device with bewitching, anti-stealth, and night vision capabilities.
Because of the Cosmic Alliance's terms, inhabitants of different planets are forbidden from meeting with purpose. Therefore, this bracelet also has the function of "altering or erasing the memories and consciousness of lower-level civilizations over a certain period."
The Serpent-Arf is such a tool…
However, due to the malicious use of this technology by anti-Alliance organizations, this equipment, and similar devices, were banned, recalled, and destroyed…
The one that Soya obtained was not recalled because it came from a highly intelligent adventure enthusiast who modified it himself.
Because this alien had horns… he was regarded as an evil demon by the creatures of this world, and his attempts to communicate with him were ineffective.
He tried to modify the consciousness of these people, but there were races with mental immunity…
Ultimately… his navigation system and other equipment were destroyed by fierce mages and sword saints, and he remained on this planet permanently…
He was a man of mages and mages. He hid it away… Based on his own interests, he further customized the machine, allowing users to obtain items from other planets of similar civilization levels by adding different magical beasts to their encyclopedia; these items were, of course, virtual, visible only to the user, but they were things that had actually existed.
It was like a game encouraging the discovery of different magical beasts…
However, as highly evolved aliens, they overlooked one problem: the alien serpent genes in the Serpent Bracelet could alter the genetic chains of lower organisms…
Several hours later, Soya struggled to wake up, feeling completely out of sorts.
His skin had turned into scales, then back to skin. What was this thing??? Even more surprising, when he focused on an object, he could actually obtain information about it.
For example, when he observed a stone, he would get 'Ordinary rock, hardness 6.'
Soya rubbed his eyes, incredulous.
But as soon as he rubbed his eyes, he made an even more astonishing discovery! He could see things even with his eyes closed.
However, the world he saw was colorless, entirely gray and white. But because of this, he could see through things, even those
hidden behind obscure surfaces… He could even see the blood in his hand. At that moment, he received a message: 'Host, Life Strength 1, Threat Level 5'
System: 'Loading Successful.' Welcome to try this system, a random low-level item is given as a gift .
*Thump!
* A virtual object floated in front of Soya.
Soya 'took' this somewhat soft 'thing.' It was quite pretty, colorful and made up of many thin leaves with strange characters on them.
'Look at the fruits drawn on it, they look so real, and these strange symbols. These things seem like food? Wait, I think I can understand them. Why can I understand these words? This is roast suckling pig, this is Spanish food, this is traditional Chinese cuisine…'Obviously, there's nothing in the encyclopedia right now, but as I fill it in, I'll get more secret manuals or items, and then I'll become incredibly powerful...
This amazing thing! I absolutely mustn't let anyone know about this; I need to slowly explore its functions. This will be my biggest secret!
Soya was still a child. He hadn't calmed down for long before he happily glanced at the cookbook again, wanting to try making something.
Some of the 'seasonings' here weren't available on the continent, but they could be substituted with other things, and the system could accurately determine the attributes of these things.
In high spirits, Soya stepped outside the cave, wanting to increase his 'points' first.
