Virgin Ranch

The
boy, unable to float on the sea, let the raging wind and towering waves toss his body.
He seemed about to die, his mind filled with memories of his childhood…
As a child, he had been a mischievous little devil, and he loved pestering his grandfather to tell him stories.
His grandfather had a face full of wrinkles and a long, white goatee. He would usually take a puff of his pipe, then sit by the fireplace, letting the firelight cast his shadow, before exhaling smoke and beginning his narration: "Our world has two most powerful gods, the chief god Xuanwu and the demon god Zhuque..."
Usually, he would eagerly ask, "Grandpa, what does Xuanwu look like? And what does Zhuque look like?"
The wrinkled grandfather would lean down, staring wide-eyed at the little boy, and then tell him in a knowledgeable tone, "Xuanwu is an incredibly huge tortoise, and Zhuque is a giant red bird. Legend has it that they were twin brothers born at the same time when heaven and earth were first created."
"Grandpa, why would a giant tortoise and a giant bird be brothers?" The grandfather seemed
a little lost, stammering, "Well…! Well, we humans find it difficult to understand gods, so let's not ask anymore. "
Seeing that his grandson no longer asked questions, but instead sat beside him, his little face propped up on his hand, watching him anxiously with wide eyes, the grandfather finally breathed a sigh of relief. He took another drag of his cigarette, and in the flickering firelight, the old man built up a mysterious atmosphere for a moment. Urged on by his grandson, he continued, "The chief god Xuanwu lives in the temple in the floating garden on Mount Wu, while the demon god Zhuque lives in the abyss beneath the cracks in the earth..."
Usually, when Grandpa reached this point, his grandson would widen his eyes, asking in utter confusion, "Grandpa, Grandpa, why do turtles live in the sky, and birds live on the ground?"
Grandpa opened his toothless mouth wide, and after a long while, he finally found an answer. He said, "You must understand, child, they are both gods. One is the chief god, and the other is the demon god. These titles at least indicate that they are not normal. Do you understand? They are completely different from us humans and other creatures..."
Not long after, one night, a waning moon hung in the black night sky, and a slight breeze picked up at midnight. A group of pirates attacked their village, and the village quickly turned into a sea of fire. Awakening, he could only hear the panicked cries of the people and the triumphant laughter of the pirates. Grandfather was killed, father was killed, mother was killed, and sister was raped and then killed…
As the child knelt on the ground, waiting to die, expecting to follow suit, a drunken old pirate suddenly took pity on him. He announced that he would adopt the child whose face was stained with his mother's blood.
The other pirates, looking at the child's blood-soaked face and eyes filled with hatred, mocked the old man, saying, "Hey! Old oarsman! You'll die at this little guy's hands."
"I won't live much longer anyway, so let me die at the hands of someone whose hands aren't yet stained with blood!"
The old pirate, for some reason, persisted.
He survived and became a sailor from childhood, a prospective pirate. To keep living, he forgot his hatred.
Seven years passed. One night, the old pirate got drunk and made a bet with other pirates that he could lift the anchor while standing on the sea. Then, he jumped overboard and drowned. That year, the boy was thirteen years old, and so he took over the old pirate's job and became a full-fledged pirate. He sailed the high seas with a host of ruthless pirates, participating in countless robberies, battles, rapes, and all the things pirates typically did.
Five or six years passed. A few days ago, their hunting route inexplicably veered off course. Captain Balu kicked him so hard his leg was bruised, though everyone knew it wasn't his fault.
Just as night fell, their large ship was swept by a storm into unfamiliar waters. He was the first to fall overboard in the raging storm. As he struggled futilely in the waves, he suddenly saw a ship in the distance crash into a reef amidst giant waves. The ship broke in two in the storm, and countless sailors, struggling and crying, were swept into the whirlpool and disappeared into the sea.
The sea wind howled, the waves were like moving mountains, and the lightning and thunder were like the wrath of the gods. Linde clung to a plank of wood, floating on the dark, turbulent sea like a single leaf adrift on a vast, turbulent ocean.
A giant wave crashed in, sweeping him underwater. His throat was full of seawater, salty and bitter. Below the surface, he was too weak to vomit. Beneath the calm surface, he saw the deep, black depths of the ocean. He felt enveloped by darkness, slowly sinking into its boundless expanse. The boy thought sadly, "Am I going to die...?"

Chapter 1: Arrival at this Wonderful Land
Early morning, the storm had just passed. The sea was a deep blue under the clear sky, a seamless blend of sea and sky. Looking up from the sky, the shimmering surface reflected the golden sunlight, like a colossal, faceted blue gem.
This small island was like a green emerald set within the sapphire. The island had a pleasant climate, with lush green grass and swaying coconut palms everywhere.
On the eastern side of the island was a triangular beach, facing the sea. The azure ocean embraced the waves crashing onto the sand, the white spray washing and smoothing the white sand. To the north of the beach lies a coconut grove, its trees laden with fruit. The massive green leaves, washed clean by the rain, exude a fresh, clean scent. To the west and south, the beach is surrounded by a sheer cliff, its black walls adorned with various green plants, while the cliff top is covered by a dense forest.
Seagulls flit and sing joyfully in the post-rain air, while the fine sand is strewn with marine life washed ashore. Several brightly colored fish struggle and leap, hermit crabs crawl sideways carrying their shells, and snails lie silently, their spines embedded in the sand, unable to move. A slightly disoriented sea turtle crawls towards the sea. Every now and then, a few plump seagulls would land on the soft sand, waddling along, their little heads craning forward as they searched for food.
When she smelled the slightly fishy, moist air and heard the sound of the waves and the cries of the seagulls, Luo Rou's heart leaped with joy. Carrying an empty basket, she ran through the coconut grove and came to a rock.
She lightly leaped onto the rock, then used her right hand to shade her eyes, smiling as she gazed at the enchanting sea and beach. The sea was crystal clear; even from a distance of a few dozen meters along the shallow beach, she could clearly see the sand dunes, colorful reefs, and fish on the seabed.
She quickly kicked off her wooden shoes and, barefoot, eagerly jumped off the rock. Luo Rou skipped and hopped towards the gently lapping waves, the cool water soothing her small, white feet. She laughed heartily, bending down to pick up large, spiky conches from her basket—one, two…
Luo Rou, dressed in a pristine white silk vest and light blue shorts, ran between the beach and the waves, looking like both a beautiful mermaid and an innocent angel. Her smile made her eyes resemble two downward-curving crescent moons, her dark eyes gleaming with a captivating light. Her rolled-up shorts revealed her shapely, long legs—smooth, white, and perfectly proportioned—like exquisite ivory sculptures.
Suddenly, Luo Rou saw something being tossed about by the waves behind a rock in the distance. She stared wide-eyed curiously for a few moments, then quickly ran closer to the object.
The object had two hands, two feet, and a head with short black hair; it was an unconscious young man. His white shirt was torn in several places by the rocks, and his capri black trousers were ripped open, revealing his muscular, tanned calves. The young man, wearing a black belt, lay quietly on the beach, only his legs occasionally bobbing up and down with the tide. His body was pale from being soaked in seawater, and a strip of dark green seaweed was wrapped around his head.
Luo Rou lifted the seaweed off his head, revealing a thumb-sized silver earring on the young man's left ear. She looked at the seaweed, bit her lip, then took a conch shell and tapped the young man's head, saying, "Hey, wake up! Where did you get this seaweed? I've never seen it before."
She tapped it twice more, and seeing no response, Luo Rou muttered to herself, "Maybe he's already dead!" After saying that, even though no one was around, she looked around before secretly removing the earring from the corpse. She squinted at the sun for a moment, examining the sparkling, exquisite ornament, then happily slipped it into her shirt pocket.
After smoothing out her right breast pocket, she pretended not to have seen anything, got up, and walked away, humming a little tune as she continued collecting seashells.
When she was about to leave with her basket full, Luo Rou remembered something. So, she went back to the young man, put the basket down, and with considerable effort dragged him onto the beach and turned him over. Looking at his face, his thin, handsome face was slightly red from frequent sun exposure, with a straight nose, well-defined thin lips, and a flat chest. Luo Rou puffed out her chest, regaining her confidence, and muttered to herself, "This guy's chest is really underdeveloped."
Then, she placed the full basket on the young man's stomach, moved his arms and legs, and positioned him in a starfish position. Standing to one side, she tilted her head back, took a deep breath, raised her arms to embrace the azure sky, and solemnly chanted the levitation incantation, "Iskedoulang, Kedoulangbait..." Soon, a faint blue light emanated from her body. Sensing the power of the wind, Luo Rou pressed her hands down on the young man's chest, guiding the wind to slowly lift him up. Then she gently placed her hands under the young man's body, and carrying him away from the beach, walking step by step to a cave at the foot of a cliff half a mile away. A
steep black cliff rose not far from the beach on the southwest side, its surface, eroded by the sea wind, uneven and rugged, as if cleaved by a giant axe from the sea god. The southern side of the cliff stretched into the sea, gradually decreasing in height until it was swallowed by the ocean. The cave, barely taller than a person, was inconspicuous at the foot of the nearly hundred-foot-high cliff, and the width of the entrance was just enough for Luo Rou to carry the young man inside.
The cave rises more than a foot above the ground, perfectly preventing seawater from flooding in during high tide. The cave seems to have formed from ancient times. If the wind-eroded entrance resembles a monster with its mouth agape, then the stalactites and stalagmites inside are like its sharp, grotesque teeth. The stalactites near the entrance have even been eroded into a strange bluish-black color by the sea wind, while a few steps further in, as if protected by some force, the stalactites gradually turn milky white, these tooth-like formations covering the upper and lower walls.
Luo Rou passed through the dense network of sharp teeth at the entrance and entered a relatively spacious chamber, much like the wide mouth of this monster.
Even the rising sun, shining directly towards the entrance, only illuminates a small part of the chamber, making it somewhat dark. The dark cavern extends further into the mountainside, like the monster's esophagus. The sound of the ocean waves was now inaudible, only the dripping of water from the stalactites echoed incessantly, one sound after another, like two lovers gently plucking each other's harps, both melodious and crisp.
Supporting the young man, Luo Rou struggled to reach the stone chamber; her hands had trembled since the entrance, and she was already at her limit.
She softly called out, "Iss," and tossed the young man down from mid-air, the seashells in the basket spilling out.
Picking up the basket, Luo Rou plopped down on the ground, sweating profusely and panting, muttering, "I knew this guy would be heavy." Then she kicked him hard.
A "gurgling" sound followed. "Hmm?" The kick had landed on his stomach, and he spat out a mouthful of seawater. The sound came from his throat.
Luo Rou kicked him again, "gurgling," then again, "gurgling"...
"This is interesting..." She mustered all her strength, preparing to jump up and try stepping on him.
Then, "Ah..." A mournful cry echoed far and wide in the cave, reverberating deep within.
The young man, weakened by the pain, regained consciousness. He groggily thought, "My stomach...it hurts so much! Did I hit a rock?"
"Can corpses cry out?" Startled by the cry, Luo Rou was a little disappointed. Although the person's eyes were still closed, he was breathing and wincing in pain, writhing as if in agony.
Luo Rou blinked in the darkness. "That's it!" She suddenly remembered something and slipped to the northwest corner of the cave, gathering some dry firewood.
This firewood was something Luo Rou had secretly stored up while sneaking out to play; it was finally coming in handy today.
"We can start a fire now!" Luo Rou excitedly chanted the incantation: "Yandorhubustang,hubustangdra..."
As the flames rose, she sat wearily by the fire.
The firelight illuminated the cave. Beside the young man, in the center of the cave, was a small, sunken stone pool, about a foot wide, filled with spring water. The water overflowed and flowed down a narrow ditch about two fingers wide, trickling into the even darker depths of the cave.
After resting for a while, seeing that the "corpse" had fallen silent again, Luo Rou, somewhat bored, pinched the young man's nose, then lifted his eyelids, and finally pried open his mouth with a sharp conch shell. The young man was still struggling in the throes of impending awakening. The storm had almost drained him of all his strength; his strong limbs ached and were powerless from struggling in the surging tide. Fortunately, the campfire beside him was slowly warming his body.
Luo Rou shook her head, humming a little tune, and pulled out a small white porcelain bottle from her bosom, then another small bottle, and so on, taking out more than a dozen in total. Then she looked at one of the bottles, nodded, opened it, and poured a little into the young man's mouth. She looked at another small bottle, shook her head, and poured the contents in. Feeling it wasn't enough, she filled the bottle with spring water, shook it, and poured in the remaining roots. Then she pinched the young man's throat, supporting his head to help the contents flow down.
Next, she poured a little from another bottle. Just as she picked up the ninth bottle, the young man sprang up from the ground like a spring, clutching his mouth and running around wildly as if his throat was on fire. He first crashed into a dark rock wall, and only after getting up did he see the pool of water by the campfire. He quickly threw himself onto the edge of the pool and buried his head deep in the spring water.
"Glug, glug..." The water in the stone pool rapidly decreased, and the small spring stopped flowing. After a while, the satisfied young man finally raised his wet head. He looked at the cute girl, who was standing there in the firelight, holding many bottles and staring blankly, and asked wearily, "Where is this? And who are you? Did you feed me something?" Many bottles were open in front of the petite, cute, peach-faced, short-haired girl, and Lin De easily guessed that she was responsible. She had fed him something strange while he was unconscious.
Luo Rou puffed out her cheeks, pouting somewhat unhappily, and said, "You're still alive? I was going to force-feed you the seasonings so I could roast them for Lanlan."
His ears were burning hot, as if they had been burned off, and he had just been soaking in spring water, so the young man hadn't heard him clearly. He picked at his ears, shook his head, and then continued, "So what did you feed me?"
Luo Rou thought for a long time and said, "I forgot, there are many kinds."
It seemed that half of this sentence was heard, and the young man clutched his stomach and asked painfully, "Why does my stomach feel like it's being roasted on fire, it's hot and burning?" His originally thin long face was now scrunched up in pain.
Luo Rou took a bottle, dipped her finger in it, tasted it on her tongue, nodded, put it down, and then picked up another empty bottle. She licked the rim with her small tongue, immediately sticking out her tongue and fanning her mouth with her hand, saying, "So spicy! So spicy!" Tears streamed down her face. Finally, she shook her head and said, "This is it."
Seeing the girl's nod and shake completely reversed, the young man asked blankly, "Did you figure out what it was?"
Luo Rou shook her head again and said, "This seems to be the essence of the Flame Flower, but I can't remember clearly."
The young man almost fainted again. He weakly asked, "Then where am I?"
Luo Rou said unhappily, "This is a very secret place, I can't tell you for now."
The young man rolled his eyes and continued to ask unwillingly, "Where did you find me? I remember our ship seemed to have veered off course in a storm, and..." "The reef has wrecked."
Luo Rou held up a slender finger and waved it around, boasting, "I've seen a ship! Once a year."
The young man breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good, at least there's a ship to go home." He thought to himself, reaching for the dagger in his pocket, only to find it missing. He thought to himself, "It's okay, even without a knife, I can still steal a ship."
Just as he was about to ask when the ship would arrive, he suddenly felt a chill in his stomach again. He exclaimed, "Why does it feel like my stomach is frozen solid again? What else did you feed me?"
Luo Rou weighed the bottles again before saying, "Lanlan's saliva is gone too, maybe it's its saliva?"
His hearing had almost returned, and he heard this sentence clearly. The young man's eyes widened, and he roared, "What? Saliva? Who is Lanlan?" He put one hand on the ground, trying to vomit, but even his throat seemed frozen, and nothing came out.
Luo Rou said discontentedly, "Hey, but I found you! How could you yell at your master like that? And vomit in front of a lady like me? That's so ill-mannered!"
"You found me? Master? Lady?" First, he was inexplicably swept into a storm, then he was pulled off the ship, then the ship wrecked, then he was forced to drink a lot of strange stuff while unconscious, then he encountered a crazy woman, and finally, that crazy woman claimed to be his master. He felt like he was going crazy.
Luo Rou nodded firmly and said, "That's right, from now on you'll call me Master. Hmm, what's your name? Since I found you on the beach, I'll call you Sand."
"I'm not called Sand, I'm called Linde, understand? I'm the eldest son of the Lin family, the lookout of the Tide, how could I be your slave? No matter who you are, don't even think about taking away my freedom." Linde waved his fist: "If only scum would hit women, I would have beaten you to a pulp long ago." After saying that, he turned around and prepared to leave this strange woman, to steal a ship at random, and then go home.
"Isletbo..."
A small bolt of lightning flashed through the air, striking Linde, making him see stars, his whole body numb, and his hair carbonized and stood on end.
Amidst Linde's scream as he rolled to the ground, Luo Rou stood with her hands on her hips, her small face furrowed in anger, scolding, "This is what happens when you disobey your master."
Linde's heart tightened in pain; this crazy woman was a dangerous wizard, and extremely mentally unstable.
Suddenly, a long, echoing "Mmm..." came from the depths of the cave. Luo Rou patted her head and said, "Ah, Lanlan's ready for lunch! You! Take the basket and follow me." With that, she picked up a torch, beckoned to Lin De, and turned to lead the way into the dark, deep cave.
He wanted nothing more than to bite off that pretty finger and then rape that brat, but to survive, the battered and weak Lin De got up, angrily shouldered the full basket of conches, and followed the girl into the dark cave with boundless resentment.
If the place they had just passed was the monster's mouth, then this narrow passage was like its esophagus. The walls of the passage seemed to have been artificially polished, smooth and white, mixed with tiny quartz crystals that reflected the torchlight, giving the passage countless mysterious points of light in the darkness. For a moment, Linde, dizzy with hunger, almost thought he was in the starry sky, strolling among the stars, as if he could touch them if he stretched out his arm. However, when he reached out, the basket of fishy-smelling conch shells he was carrying quickly reminded him.
Linde slowly followed Luo Rou, his angry eyes fixed on her round little bottom, her slender waist under the one-finger-wide beige silk belt, and her two long, snow-white legs that occasionally flashed in the firelight. The girl's shorts, which were already below the knee, were rolled up and held high with two silver hooks tied to her belt, the hooks reflecting starlight from time to time, seemingly tempting Linde. The light blue shorts were also hooked into a triangle, clinging tightly to her little bottom. The yellow glow of the torch on the left side was vying for space with the shadows on her bottom.
Lin De's angry eyes gradually turned into crescent shapes as he thought to himself, "Looks like a tight little bottom, I wonder..."
Luo Rou suddenly turned and glared at him. Her face, which had abruptly turned in the narrow passage, showed anger in the torchlight. The shadow of her originally cute, slightly upturned nose, along with the shadows of her bangs and side hair, obscured a large part of her face. Coupled with her angry and fierce expression, she appeared even more terrifying to Lin De.
Lin De staggered back a step, startled, and hurriedly explained, "I didn't mean to look..."
Luo Rou clenched her fist and threatened, "If you walk this slowly again, don't blame me for being impolite!" After saying that, she snorted and turned to continue walking.
Lin De breathed a sigh of relief and ran and skipped, staggering as he caught up. Hearing hurried footsteps, the girl turned and nodded, indicating her satisfaction with the pace.
Linde held the conch shells in the basket to prevent them from falling out, following a torch through the dark passage. The fishy smell and the slippery feel of his hands fueled the hunger and despair of the stranded boy. He thought to himself, "What a terrible day! I barely survived and now I'm stuck in some unknown abyss. I'll find a spacious place later and pin her down! But how do I successfully pin down a witch? Hmm…" Linde thought to himself, frustrated as he ran. He was so hungry and weak that even running at this pace was exhausting.
"I must endure this!" he thought, swallowing to reassure himself that he wasn't so hungry anymore. Then, Linde's gaze returned to the dazzling, slender, white neck in the firelight. The alluring neck appeared and disappeared with the movement of her short hair, making his face flush with excitement.
Remembering what the girl had just said, Lin De gritted his teeth and secretly vowed, "Even if you are a beautiful woman, don't think I'll become your slave. No one can turn me into a slave. But if you beg me to be your slave, I might consider it..."
Lost in thought, the cave began to widen, gradually leading to a large cavern. The starlight faded, and Lin De felt a pang of regret. He looked around by the torchlight, vaguely discerning that in the center of this enormous cavern, dozens of feet wide, was a pool of water several feet across, with bubbles occasionally rising to the surface, reflecting the firelight.
In the dim firelight, Linde could only vaguely see two points of cold light suddenly appearing on the surface of the dark pool ahead. Those two radiant lights seemed to be the eyes of a deep blue monster, its massive body, carrying more bubbles and a chilling aura, slowly rising from the water.
In the darkness, only the monster's enormous body could be seen, occupying more than half of the pool's surface. Its gleaming eyes were fixed on Linde, and a terrifying, invisible pressure rendered him immobile; his body trembled involuntarily. Linde gasped for breath, enduring the invisible pressure. He gritted his teeth, glaring at the monster, and clenched his fists, his body arching as if strength was gradually returning to his body in the face of danger. "I absolutely cannot let it see that I'm afraid!" Thinking this, Linde shifted his gaze to the girl on the back, his expression still fierce.
The girl, however, exclaimed happily, "Lanlan, I'm coming!" She ran towards the blue monster, the torchlight revealing its true form.
Unable to resist taking a look, Linde's eyes widened to the size of eggs. He exclaimed in astonishment, "This...this...such a huge seahorse!"
The enormous monster was ten feet tall above the water, its two watery eyes larger than its mouth, and a long, O-shaped mouth in front of its massive cheeks. Below its enormous, seahorse-like head was a thin neck, followed by a cone-shaped body covered in blue scales, its waist at its widest point at least ten feet in circumference. Oh, and two forelimbs barely larger than chicken feet—Linde had almost missed them. The monster also had a white belly, below which remained submerged in the water.
Hearing Linde call it a seahorse, the blue monster was so angry it almost jumped out of the pool. It splashed around in the water, brandishing its two short, powerful claws, and roared in a thin voice, protesting, "I am Blue Dragon Bolb, understand? An incredibly powerful blue dragon. The third most powerful dragon after Black Dragon Darbach and White Dragon King Doxon."
Hearing its strange tone, Linde asked Luo Rou incredulously, "Is this guy telling the truth?"
Luo Rou dodged the splashing water and nodded confidently, "The people on the island all say it's a dragon."
Blue Dragon Bolb angrily turned around, pointing to its back with its tiny claws, "See? I have wings, I'm a flying blue dragon, understand? The great blue dragon!" The monster kept repeating that it was a dragon.
Unable to bear the shrill sound, and seeing the wings, barely larger than a moth's, flapping uselessly, Linde could only nod vigorously, hoping it would shut up.
Luo Rou took a large conch shell from the basket Linde was carrying and handed it to the blue dragon.
The blue dragon, Boerbo, finally stopped protesting. It turned around, its large, watery eyes immediately welling up with tears upon seeing the conch. It blinked hard, almost crying, and said in a soft, aggrieved voice, "Why is it another conch? I've been eating conches for decades, boohoo..."
Luo Rou pointed apologetically at Linde and asked with concern, "I also picked up this one, do you want to eat it?"
The blue dragon supported itself with its two thin claws, lying on the shore, staring blankly at Linde. Soon, its saliva was everywhere, and Luo Rou hurriedly took out a small bottle to fill it.
Linde was startled. He yelled at Luo Rou, "Hey, you're the one who wants to be eaten by the seahorse!" He turned around and saw the blue dragon stretching its thin neck, staring at him with a drooling look, seemingly lost in thought.
Linde cursed inwardly, "Damn it, I don't want to be eaten by this thing." Facing the huge, ugly monster, Linde mustered his courage and took a step forward. Even though his legs were trembling, he still put on a fierce expression and reached into his pocket: "Damn it, I forgot my dagger is gone, damn it." But he put on an even fiercer expression: "Hmm, I can't let it see any fear in my eyes!" So he looked at the girl.
Displeased by the stare, Luo Rou kicked Linde away, clenching her fists and angrily saying, "Accept any judgment from your master with a cheerful expression, understand?"
The blue dragon was startled by Linde's fierce expression. Then it looked at Linde, who had "flew out and crashed into the rock wall, sticking to it," and scrutinized his resentful back for a moment before swallowing hard and saying to Luo Rou, "Give me the conch shell. This thing is too thick; I can't swallow it. Or, could you help me thin it out? Cut it open with a wind blade! Just four pieces will be enough for two days."
Linde, who had just gotten up and sat on the ground, breathed a sigh of relief, but upon hearing the second half of her sentence, he broke out in a cold sweat again and prepared to put on a fierce expression once more.
Luo Rou watched Linde gesture for a long time, making him tremble with fear. She shook her head and said, "My level isn't high enough! I can only cast Wind Balls with wind magic."
Luo Rou shook her head and sighed;
the blue dragon, with tears in its eyes, also sighed with great regret;
Lin De leaned against the rock wall and sighed deeply, finally feeling relieved. He thought, "Damn it, I have to get out of here quickly. Who knows what else is here? Oh, no, I need to do something before I leave..."
Luo Rou tossed a conch shell into the air. The blue dragon nimbly shook its head, puckered its lips, and sucked in the shell, which flew to its mouth.
The blue dragon began to eat the conch shell with its straw-like mouth. It first sucked the shell into its gills, wriggled there for a while, and then spat out the empty shell. Then it waited for Luo Rou to throw down another conch shell.
Lin De looked in the direction where it had spat out the shell and saw a small mountain of shells filling half of the cave, numbering in the tens or hundreds of thousands.
The blue dragon ate slowly for almost half an hour before it was full. It lingered for a while, cuddling with Luo Rou, then glanced back at Lin De a few more times before slowly submerging into the water and disappearing.
Lin De asked curiously, "Where did that guy go?"
"It's guarding this island, that's what the island's priests say. It's a very strong creature."
"Hey, forget about that guy! Get me out of here right now, or I won't be polite!" The fierce expression seemed useless, and Lin De thought dejectedly, "I've practiced this expression for a long time."
Luo Rou snorted, "No way! Whoever finds something first owns it. How I deal with you later is my problem, you don't need to worry about it."
Lin De waved his fist, angrily saying, "Why do you say that?!" He was completely exhausted; his strength was recovering too slowly, and after watching the blue dragon eat the conch for over half an hour, his stomach was rumbling incessantly.
Luo Rou punched Lin De in displeasure, and Lin De collapsed weakly to the ground. Luo Rou stepped on the weakened Lin De before answering, "First, if you ever swing your claws at me again, I'll break or burn them; second, let me tell you! A long, long time ago, probably last year! Fiona and I found a very beautiful seashell on the beach. She tried to take it from me, and it ended up at the High Priest's. The High Priest said, 'Whatever is on the beach, whoever finds it first, owns it.' On this island, the High Priest is the law. Do you understand what she said? Whatever is on the beach, whoever finds it first, owns it."
Lin De was in pain from Luo Rou's stomp, and he cursed inwardly, "Wait until I've eaten my fill and have the strength, then I'll see how I deal with you."
Having made up his mind, he pretended to look at Luo Rou naturally, gently, and obediently.
Luo Rou stomped on his stomach and said, "Don't stare at me like that. Take the basket, let's go back."
Lin De clutched his stomach, wincing in pain, and groaned as he asked, "Go back? Go back where?"
Luo Rou replied, "The temple. I haven't told the High Priest about you yet."
"Oh, is there a temple here?"
"In the middle of the island."
"What island is this?"
They chatted as they walked, and Luo Rou impatiently covered her ears and replied, "First Island."
Lin De was stunned for a moment. He thought for a long time, but he had never heard of any First Island! There was no such place on the nautical chart. He asked curiously, "Does this place have any other name? I've never heard of First Island."
"No! This place has always been called First Island."
"Oh, have you ever been to any of the nearby islands? What are the names of the nearby islands?"
"Are there any other islands? I've never been there. Except for the graduates every year, no one has ever left here."
"Have you always been here? What are graduates? Is this a school?"
"Yes, we've always been here. Graduates are graduates! Why do you ask so many questions?" Luo Rou started punching the patient again.
"You've never been anywhere?" Lin De winced in pain after being punched in the face again, but he found that this made him feel less hungry, and he asked even more curiously.
“Yes! Yes! Shut up! Stop asking!”
“One ship a year?”
“Yes.” Luo Rou really wanted to beat this guy shut up, but Lin De, who was prepared, staggered and dodged the punch.
“Is your island all women?”
“Yes, aren’t you?”
“She actually thought I was a woman? How could that be! I’m so manly!” Lin De suddenly remembered a place that was rumored among sailors, and asked cautiously, “What if they find a man on your island?”
“The priests will incinerate the unclean creature with fire spirit.”
Lin De was startled and asked cautiously, “How could that be? Without trial?” The legendary place was inhabited by terrifying women, and if a man fell into their hands, he would suffer a fate worse than death; the island was surrounded by terrifying dragons that devoured all passing creatures. But how did the ship get swept here by the storm? The shipping routes are at least a day’s journey apart.
At this moment, the Xuanwu God was shaking his head in front of a large crystal ball, sighing repeatedly, "Alas, another failure. Another ship full of men sowing seeds of love failed to deliver. Humanity's restrictions are truly formidable. When will I be able to find men for these poor women without my wife finding out? Hmm, if my wife hadn't caught me and forced the great Xuanwu God to swear a poisonous oath, I would have personally rescued these lonely and pitiful women." Xuanwu's attention was focused on the large ship; he didn't notice that a fish had slipped through the net and unintentionally drifted into the calm and beautiful island during the storm.
Luo Rou smiled and said, "Don't worry, although you don't have breasts like a man, you also don't have male genitalia, so they won't burn you alive as a man. If you're afraid of strangers, you can hide in my room for now."
Lin De nodded vigorously, feeling grateful for the first time to the girl who had saved him.
Luo Rou asked again, "What did you do before you came here?"
Lin De solemnly swore, "I was an honest and kind fisherman." But in his heart, he thought, "Even the fiercest pirate is the kindest lamb of the Xuanwu God compared to you."
On the eastern side of the island, some wreckage was floating on the sea. On a broken mast, a black flag was submerged in the seawater. The flag was billowing with the waves, and on the black flag, a pale skull was opening its mouth and mocking the sky.
