Castration, also known as cleansing (primarily referring to male castration), involves removing a man's reproductive organs, mainly the
external genitalia. After castration, the male's external genitalia are only used for urination and lose their reproductive capacity.
In ancient times, castration was used as a form of punishment—the Chinese punishment of genital mutilation.
