Chapter Three: Origin
A castle built atop a high mountain. From within came the sounds of soldiers' bayonets and shouts. A
burly man with a smug, unassuming face grinned triumphantly.

a hoarse yet powerful voice echoed from the castle tower.
This man was Saito Dosan, a daimyo of Mino, a powerful figure who rose from merchant to power during the Sengoku period. He was bald
, with a mustache, and wore a white kimono. Behind him stood three retainers, known as the Mino Triumvirate.
"Nobuhide, known as the Tiger of Owari, has passed away."
"And his successor is…"
"A foolish princess who worships the southern barbarians?"
Before the retainers could finish, Saito Dosan had already said what they wanted to say.
"From a general perspective, they should be the target of attack,"
one of them replied upon hearing his lord's words.
"That's right. If we just hand it over to Lord Yoshitatsu and the three of us from Mino, we can immediately..."
Saito Dosan glanced sideways at the three behind him, stroking his chin to stop his retainer from speaking.
