[The Allure of Martial Souls] Chapter Twelve: The Demonic Monk's Borrowing and Returning

Tears streamed down Zi Die's face as she struggled to carry the pale, lifeless Qin Sidao
in her arms, rushing towards a dense, misty forest of rocks.
She ran for a long time, head down, when suddenly she felt a movement at her waist. Looking down, she saw Qin Sidao gently tugging
at her waist, weakly saying, "Ah... Die... never mind... hurry!"
Though his words were mumbled, Zi Die knew what he meant. She quickly
hugged Qin Sidao tighter, shook her head, and sobbed, "Sidao, don't say that. Just a little longer, we'll be there.
Once we cross that cliff, we won't be afraid of them chasing us anymore. Then, A Die will find a place for Sidao to recover properly.
After Sidao heals, A Die will stay with Sidao for the rest of our lives, living happily ever after. We'll never
be separated again." As she spoke, a longing look appeared on her tear-streaked face.
Upon hearing Zi Die's words, Qin Sidao's eyelashes fluttered slightly, a hint of emotion flashing in his dull eyes. But then
he raised an eyebrow and gently shook his head, saying, "I...I want to, but...Sidao...I can't." As he spoke, his chest
heaved violently, and he coughed lightly, a thin line of dark red blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Seeing Qin Sidao cough up blood, Zi Die felt a sharp pain in her heart. She desperately held back the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes
, biting her cherry lips tightly, and said, "Sidao, you must hold on for A-Die's sake. A-Die has been alone and helpless in this
life. It was only by fate that I met you, sir. If you die, A-Die doesn't want to live in this world anymore. I will stay with you through life and death
."
Qin Sidao, in his arms, trembled slightly upon hearing this. Looking into Zi Die's tear-filled eyes, so close to his own, he
saw eyes as deep and unfathomable as autumn water, gentle and sorrowful, yet containing unparalleled strength and courage, extinguishing his cold heart.
His heart was tightly embraced, warmed by her tenderness. Encouraged by her, his pale face gradually regained its color. He
managed to move his fingers and wrote on Zi Die's back: "In this life and the next, this love will never change."
Seeing Qin Sidao regain his courage to live, Zi Die felt a little relieved. Just as she was about to offer further words of comfort,
she suddenly heard a sinister laugh from behind: "What a fine promise of life and death companionship, unwavering until death! Zi Die,
have you decided to go with this boy?" It was Zhu Qingtian, looking displeased, who
rushed forward like the wind sweeping across the land with his hands behind his back.
Seeing Zi Die remain silent, head bowed, and rushing away with Qin Sidao in her arms, Zhu Qingtian's face
flashed with anger, but he ultimately smiled and said, "Zi Die, out of consideration for our past relationship, I'll give you another chance to return to my command
. Are you willing?"
He remained silent for a long time, and seeing that Zi Die still disregarded his words, he felt a surge of rage. A
strange feeling he had never experienced before suddenly overwhelmed him, and his expression changed. He shouted in a deep voice, "Fine—if that's the case, then
don't blame me for being ruthless." He stretched out his body, flicked his sleeve, and a dark purple light shot
out from within.
Zi Die knew she was no match for Zhu Qingtian no matter what. Seeing him attack, she could only grit her teeth and
endure, risking her life to protect Qin Sidao in her arms with her vest, hoping that heaven would take pity on her and help her.
Coincidentally, just as Zi Die risked her life to protect Qin Sidao, a sharp "whoosh"
sound came from behind her. A purple figure, as nimble as a swallow, flashed out from the sparse trees to the side, using her own
body to block Zhu Qingtian's fatal blow for Zi Die.
Enraged, Zhu Qingtian was solely focused on killing the two despicable people before him. Unexpectedly, someone else appeared to
obstruct him. His face flushed purple, and his eyes flashed with murderous intent. Upon recognizing the newcomer, he was filled with
shock and fury, his voice booming like thunder: "Ziyun—even you're helping that brat? I'll kill
you—"
His face contorted with rage, he strode forward, closing in on Ziyun in an instant like an eagle pouncing on a rabbit. His large
palm, carrying a powerful gust of wind, struck Ziyun's face.
A deafening boom resounded as a towering ancient tree beside Ziyun was blasted in
two by the force of the blow, collapsing with a crashing crash, sending dust and withered leaves flying everywhere.
Just moments before, Zhu Qingtian had been consumed by rage and intended to end her life with a single blow. However, at the crucial moment,
he recalled all the good things Ziyun had done for him, and for a moment he couldn't bring himself to strike. He quickly withdrew his inner force, deflecting the blow
behind her.
The wind blew, the clouds dispersed, and after the two stood facing each other for a long time, Zhu Qingtian slowly closed his eyes and
walked past Ziyun, whose face was pale, blood trickling from her mouth, and tears streaming down her face, without uttering a word.

...

Zi Die was overjoyed, knowing he was still struggling to stay afloat for her. Thinking of this, her
face flushed, and she quickly leaned down to kiss his forehead, softly saying, "A-Die will take you away now!" With that, she
staggered forward, ignoring her own weakness, and struggled to lift Qin Sidao. Her delicate body swayed as she
slowly made her way towards the light.
Zi Die had exhausted all her strength from her run through the forest, and although she could walk,
it was extremely slow. She had barely taken two steps before she was already swaying, as if about to fall.
"No, no, I can't fall before Sidao. I must hold on. Just a little more, and we'll be free
!" Zi Die shook her head violently, then transferred Qin Sidao onto her back. Once secure, she swayed again and continued her
difficult journey forward.
With each step faltering, the two finally emerged from the dense forest. Before them lay two
sheer cliffs, several dozen feet apart, surrounded by boulders on either side, overlooking a deep valley hundreds of feet below. The ravines between them were crisscrossed with jagged rocks, a truly treacherous landscape.
An anomaly was the presence of a thick, black iron chain spanning the two cliffs. It seemed impossible for anyone but someone with exceptional lightness skills
to cross it.
Seeing the iron chain bridge before her, Zi Die inwardly groaned. Even when she was still strong, crossing this
bridge would be extremely difficult; now, she was almost exhausted, carrying Qin Sidao
, who weighed over a hundred pounds, on her back. After much deliberation, she realized she would have to find another way to cross.
As she pondered how to cross, she suddenly noticed a huge, protruding rock on the opposite cliff, upon which
sat a massive golden bell. The bell was over two zhang tall and eight chi wide, carved with a huge Buddha
statue chanting mantras. Seated cross-legged on the bell was a long-browed monk in a bright red robe.
Zi Die's eyes lit up when she saw the long-browed monk. She thought to herself, "I wonder why this old monk is sitting
here cultivating. Judging from his appearance, he must be a highly skilled martial artist. Perhaps I should ask him to help me and
Qin Lang cross this bridge."
The thought had barely formed when she blurted out, "Master, Master, I have a favor to ask..."
She called out repeatedly until her mouth was dry, but the long-browed monk ignored her completely,
sitting cross-legged on the giant bell as if in deep meditation, motionless.
Zi Die was extremely anxious. Zhu Qingtian might catch up at any time, and if she couldn't cross
the bridge in time, she and Qin Lang would surely be doomed by the time he arrived. Thinking of this, she
pleaded loudly, "It is said that monks are compassionate. How can the master bear to see a young woman in such danger and leave her to die
?"
Just as Zi Die was pleading, a violent hurricane suddenly blew up from the cliff,
blowing countless sand and stones high into the air, where they swirled and coalesced into a huge square stone. The huge square
stone spun several times in the air, about to crash down, when suddenly a long, melodious
bell rang out. Disturbed by the sound, the huge square stone in the air immediately scattered into countless sand and stone fragments, which rained down all over
the ground.
Just then, a loud shout rang out: "When did it become anyone else's business to interfere in the private affairs of my Cold Moon Palace? Borrowing and returning monks,
your Luo Men Sect's reach is far too long!"
The long-browed monk, without opening his eyes, chuckled and said, "Palace masters, since you've come, why not come out and greet
me? This hiding and coy behavior isn't like you."
With that, the long-browed monk suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze like lightning fixed on the high, firm breasts of Zi Die on the opposite bank. His Adam's apple
bobbed, and after a long silence, he said, "Amitabha, young lady, you must know that what is borrowed must be returned. Have you thought through what you asked of
this old monk?"
