[The Path to Godhood] Part 4: Seventeen's Terrified Vow and the Dog

Chapter Four: Seventeen's Terrified Vow and the Dog's Promise
Seventeen was trembling like a leaf, afraid to make a sound. The girl who had been servicing
him was held tightly in his arms, his hands forcefully covering her mouth and nose, terrified she would make a sound.
However, due to his excessive force, the girl seemed unable to breathe and was struggling violently!
Seventeen noticed this, anxiously pointing to the screen, making a shushing gesture in front of his lips, then slowly
releasing the girl's nostrils, but still tightly covering her mouth; he didn't want her to scream in fright.
As the cruel scenes unfolded on the screen, the girl trembled in Seventeen's arms, closing her eyes, unable
to watch any longer.
The moans coming from the television, the screams of women reaching orgasm, the purring of the large dog in excitement!
Accompanied by the woman's shrill screams! pierced Seventeen's ears like sharp knives.
This torment lasted for an unknown amount of time; Seventeen estimated it to be at least two hours!
"Ahhhhhhhh...!!! *Thud*!" A heart-wrenching, inhuman scream pierced the air
, accompanied by the sound of something being punctured.
Then silence fell...
but the deathly silence didn't last long. "Sizzle sizzle...! Crack crack...!"
The sound of a dog chewing on a bone echoed, and Seventeen was on the verge of collapse!
He knew that sound all too well—that final, dying sound, so familiar to him,
that slightly hoarse, sexy moan that had brought him to the peak of climax time and time again!
Now, hearing that sound, he just wanted to tremble. He kept repeating in his mind, "Don't look! Don't
look! Don't look! Don't open your eyes!"
But the more he repeated it, the more he opened his eyes. Perhaps the human heart and actions are always full of contradictions!
He cautiously opened his eyes a tiny crack, as if afraid of being discovered.
Beneath the large white dog hung a naked woman covered in wounds.
The muscles were ripped open at the sites of numerous knife cuts, covering Yun Sha's back and legs.
Two rows of round, gaping wounds near her neck on her shoulders were still gushing blood.
The woman's genitals were still inserted into the monstrous white dog's enormous genitals, the long penis causing her belly to bulge
high, leaving her suspended in the air!
Her once delicate hands were now being chewed in the dog's mouth, the crunching sounds of breaking bones echoing in
the room.
Yun Sha's corpse swayed back and forth with the white dog's eating. For a moment, her head was directly facing the camera
, and Seventeen, terrified, snapped off the television!
He had a feeling she was watching him!
In that instant, her eyes widened in horror, glaring at him fiercely! A mixture of disbelief, endless
regret, and finally, boundless hatred!
Seventeen was terrified! Truly terrified. A bone-chilling cold emanated from his very core,
a chill that no amount of electric heating could dispel.
He clung to the equally frightened girl, trembling all night, too afraid to sleep.
Only when the sun rose the next day did he feel a faint breath of life return to his body.
He then arranged for people to handle the aftermath. He warned the girl not to speak ill of him, though it didn't really matter;
no one would believe him anyway.
He'd done similar dirty work before, but this time he truly didn't dare step back into that house. According to
his men cleaning up the mess, besides bloodstains everywhere, there was nothing else in the house.
The windows showed no signs of forced entry, and everything inside was normal!
"This is the most damn abnormal thing!" Seventeen screamed inwardly. How did that man in the top hat get out?
Where did that damned Fang Siren go? What about that dog bigger than a lion? Most importantly,
where was Yun Sha's body?
He dared not think any further… Yun Sha's final, glaring look at him from her corpse had terrified him.
As the old saying goes, "If you have a clear conscience, you have nothing to fear." Seventeen had done far too many bad things, especially
since he had used drugs and photographs to coerce Yun Sha into becoming his woman.
He hadn't believed in ghosts or gods before, nor did he respect them, but this incident was too bizarre, making him suddenly feel
that he was about to suffer retribution.
From then on, Seventeen had nightmares every night, sometimes dreaming that those he had harmed had returned
to seek revenge. His greatest fear was dreaming of Yun Sha crying out to him in his dreams! Seeking revenge! Revenge for coercing and seducing
her, for leading her astray, and for ultimately causing her untimely death! Without even leaving a trace of her body!
In short, Seventeen became neurotic after that night; his already thin body became even more gaunt, and he
looked like a skeleton.
Every night, he would drink, take drugs, and womanize relentlessly, trying every possible way to keep himself from
sobering up.
One night, he was driving on a city road when he found himself driving into the mountains. He felt
that Yunsha was taking his life, and from then on, he dared not drive. He frequented bars, hooking up with women
and then checking into hotels nearby, living a life of drunken revelry until daytime.
At this moment, the pitiful cries of a woman coming from the underpass, the flickering lights, instantly
stirred up the terrifying memories of a year ago!
He dared not go any further, throwing off the woman beside him and scrambling out of the underpass. He
shouted, "Yunsha is back for me! She's back for me! It wasn't me! It wasn't me! Don't chase me! Stay away from me!
Hahaha... Hehehe..."
A year of drug addiction and debauchery, coupled with immense mental pressure, finally drove this man who walked on the edge of darkness
to true madness.
The dog, enjoying its happiness, and Lingyao, venting her emotions, never imagined that a casual outburst
could drive someone crazy.
Seventeen's shouts in the passageway naturally reached Lingyao, who was holding the little beggar. After crying for a while,
she felt a significant relief from the pressure she had been carrying.
Looking down at the little boy in her arms, she saw that he was closing his eyes, a baby-like smile on his lips.
His dirty face and dry, red skin couldn't diminish the tranquility and happiness in that smile.
For some reason, Lingyao felt a surge of warmth in her heart at that moment. "Perhaps, those who bring happiness to others
are the ones who find happiness within themselves."
Just as the two were gently embracing, enjoying the tranquility, "Gurgle, gurgle..."
The protest of his digestive system was amplified in the underground passage...
The warm atmosphere was shattered, and Gouzi, with a wry smile, moved away from that warm, soft, and milky-scented chest
.
Looking down at his feet, his little hands were clenched tightly, even his neck was red, whether from the lingering milky
scent or the embarrassment of his rumbling stomach, she didn't know.
Looking at his adorable appearance, Lingyao thought of her hometown and the
children she had taught who couldn't afford to go to school. "They're all such poor kids."
Having been a primary school teacher herself, she naturally noticed the little boy's embarrassment. She gently ruffled his slightly
messy hair and softly asked, "Are you hungry?"
"Mmm," Gouzi replied, head down.
"Come on, I'll treat you to dinner tonight." Lingyao stood up and pulled him away. She felt
that if she wasn't assertive, he would refuse.
Lingyao's feeling was correct; Gouzi didn't want to go. Children like him, who were controlled by others,
were usually picked up by someone in the evening. Today, he wasn't waiting where he was supposed to be; he had run away on his own
because he really didn't want to go back to that filthy home. He always felt he didn't belong there.
This wasn't the first time he had run away. The previous times he had been caught and brought back, his limbs had been broken. If
an ordinary child had suffered those injuries, they would probably have been permanently disabled.
So he didn't want to go with this pretty older sister; he was afraid of causing her trouble.
Before he could even refuse, he was dragged out of the underpass. He squinted and looked
up; the round, bright moonlight shone into his heart, like
a ray of sunshine suddenly appearing to someone who had walked in darkness for years.
Dogzi, somewhat dazed, followed the woman before him. He wanted to resist, but couldn't bring himself to do
so, because deep down, he desperately wanted to be with her.
They hadn't walked far when Lingyao pulled Dogzi into a 24-hour KFC.
The warm red and yellow colors were comforting. A Christmas tree adorned with lights and gifts twinkled at the entrance,
welcoming customers. Children's Christmas carols added to the festive
atmosphere and warmth.
A fashionable young woman dragging a dirty little beggar to eat—this would always attract
attention.
Fortunately, it was the early hours of the morning, and apart from two couples, there weren't many other customers in the shop. The
couples busy whispering and cuddling only glanced at them curiously before turning back to their whispered conversations.
For the first time, Gouzi felt his eyes couldn't take it all in. He looked curiously at the toys in the children's playground near the entrance,
at the twinkling colored lights—things he'd only ever seen through glass windows from outside the street before.
Looking up at the chicken leg advertised, he felt his mouth fill with digestive juices, and his stomach ached even more from hunger.
"What do you want to eat? I'll go buy it for you," a pleasant voice said in his ear.
"Hmm… I've never had it before, I don't know, as long as I'm full." Gouzi figured that since he was already there,
and his uncle and the others probably wouldn't notice him in the middle of the night, he might as well enjoy a good meal.
Although he didn't know why this strange woman was so kind to him, he felt a strange
sense of closeness towards her, an indescribable closeness.
"Maybe it was that moment when she gave me a feeling of being like a mother?" Gouzi thought.
This was the first time he'd ever felt such a strange closeness to a stranger. He always felt out of place with everyone around him,
even his usual caregiver, Er Ya, hadn't given him this odd feeling. It really puzzled him
.
Soon, Gouzi forgot all about it, because Lingyao brought
him a huge plate full of food—chicken burgers, original recipe chicken, spicy chicken wings, and more.
The enticing aroma made Gouzi's heart pound, and he reached out his dirty little hand to grab the biggest chicken leg
.
"Smack..." Lingyao gently slapped his dirty hand, put on a stern face, and gestured towards the bathroom,
saying, "Um... over there, go wash your hands first."
"Hehe..." Gouzi chuckled awkwardly, jumped off the chair, and ran to the bathroom.
Feeling the warmth emanating from his hands, facing the sink cleaner than his bed, Gouzi looked at
the dirty little boy in the mirror, feeling a sense of unreality. He feared it was all a beautiful dream, and
he would wake up back in the cold underground tunnel.
Lingyao's scolding words and her charming yet serious face echoed in his mind. Suddenly, his nose
stung with tears. For the first time in his life, he realized that being scolded could be blissful, that being blamed could be
joyful.
Because it meant someone cared about him, that someone valued him. For the first time, Gouzi felt that he hadn't been
abandoned by the world.
"Pfft, pfft..." Gouzi lowered his head and used the warm water to wash away the tears that were about to fall. At that moment, he felt a warm current flow from his eyes to his heart, warming
his entire body from the inside out. The dog carefully washed himself, even smoothing out his messy hair with water. Facing his reflection in the mirror, he let out a long breath and confidently returned to his seat opposite Lingyao. As soon as he sat down, he eagerly grabbed a chicken leg and took a bite. Mmm! That bite of tender, smooth chicken ...The juicy chicken, dripping with oil, made him think it was the best thing he'd ever eaten! He didn't care about table manners, grabbing a chicken leg in his left hand and a hamburger in his right, finishing the chicken leg in just a few bites.

He finished it, looking like a starving ghost reincarnated.
Lingyao held her cup of coffee, stirring it slowly. The slightly intoxicating aroma of cocoa cleared her mind a bit.
She tilted her head slightly, watching the little boy wolf down his food, and smiled knowingly. She was actually
quite puzzled by her own behavior. "Why do I feel so close to this strange little boy? Is it because
he reminds me of my younger brother? Like the children I used to teach? Or is it because of his defiant eyes?"
"Sigh... What good is not giving in to the crushing weight of society? Aren't we still starving like this child
?" Thinking of this, Lingyao's mood became heavy again, and she unconsciously frowned.
"Cough cough... Waaah..." Gouzi ate too quickly. Seeing the older sister across from him frown,
he wondered if he had been too impolite, so focused on eating that he hadn't even said thank you. She was in a hurry to say something,
but a bite of hamburger got stuck in his throat, almost suffocating him. He kept trying to smooth it down with his little hands.
"Hey, hey... eat slowly, I'm not going to take it from you," she said, handing him a Coke to
drink.
Then, she naturally reached out, picked up a napkin, and affectionately wiped the grease from his mouth,
giving him a slightly reproachful glance.
And just like that, our strong little boy's eyes instantly welled up with tears.
The chicken he hadn't swallowed seemed to freeze in his mouth, impossible to swallow, as if
a huge piece of cotton was stuck in his throat.
The boy felt he had never shed more tears in his life than he had tonight. He
had never felt like crying even when facing his uncle's abuse and beatings, or the dizziness of hunger.
But that scene just now was so much like his mother, whom he had dreamt of countless times.
She sternly scolded him for being disobedient, then lovingly wiped his mouth. Although he didn't remember what his mother looked like, he
imagined she must have been similar to this older sister.
Lingyao hadn't expected her unconscious action to bring tears to the eyes of this somewhat stubborn little boy. However,
seeing his tears welling up in his eyes, refusing to cry,
a tender spot in her heart was touched. She naturally stood up and sat down next to him, ignoring
the grease on his mouth, and pulled him into her arms, gently patting his thin, protruding back.
She felt the child stiffen slightly upon entering her arms, then his shoulders trembled as he silently
sobbed. She felt her chest was already wet, but she couldn't hear any crying. "Sigh... what a stubborn
child, still refusing to cry even now. Hehe, tonight is truly a night of overflowing tears
."
After crying for a while, Gouzi gently pushed his sister away, because in those silent tears,
in that warm embrace, he made a vow. At
that moment, he vowed to protect the sister before him, because she was the first
family member he recognized in this world! The first person to bring warmth to his heart!
Gouzi raised his head, his slightly reddened eyes looking into Lingyao's eyes, his dark, bright eyes deep and confident
.
"My name is Gouzi, thank you for dinner, sister. Can I know your name?" Gouzi's voice was full of
childlike tones, yet he insisted on using an adult tone, sounding like a little adult.
Lingyao was somewhat surprised by the child's speed of recovery. After a moment's hesitation, she replied, "Me? You can call me Sister Lin.
"
She didn't know why, but she immediately revealed his real surname. Sometimes,
the speed at which someone trusts another is truly illogical.
"Sister Lin," Gouzi murmured softly, as if trying to etch the name into his mind.
Then, he suddenly sat up straight, facing Lingyao, one hand covering his chest, the other raised to the side of his head
with three fingers extended. In a child's voice, yet with unwavering conviction, he declared, "I swear! I, Gouzi,
will protect Sister Lin from any harm for the rest of my life! I will ensure her eternal happiness! To repay the
kindness of this meal today! If I break this oath, may I die a horrible death!"
These words, spoken by a little boy whose voice hadn't yet broken, were truly bizarre. Anyone
would have dismissed this oath as nothing more than a child's frivolous remark.
Looking at the little boy's confident, earnest, and stubborn face, and his deep, bright black eyes,
Lingyao truly believed! She believed the child was serious, and that he would do it!
She had a strange premonition that this little boy would fulfill his promise someday. At that moment, she
suddenly felt much lighter; her wandering, aimless heart seemed to have found a support
, filling her with a sense of security.
Lingyao smiled beautifully, raised her hand, and vigorously ruffled his hair, saying, "Hehehe
...it's strange, sister believes you! Really, sister believes you will do it, but first you need to eat
your fill, grow up strong enough to protect me!"
Hearing her reply and seeing the sincere trust in her eyes, Gouzi grinned, looking silly and innocent.
At that moment, he felt full of strength!
He buried his head and started eating voraciously, his mind constantly thinking, "I need to grow up quickly! To protect
the people I love most! I need power! The power to control my destiny!"
Putting aside our little puppy's ambition for now, Lingyao, watching him eat, was truly
shocked by his appetite that night.
The first time, she bought no less than four hamburgers and over twenty pieces of chicken, but the kid finished them in no time,
then started chewing on the chicken bones.
She tried asking, "Not full?"
The little guy blushed, hesitated for a moment, and then nodded, "Yeah, not full."
Without another word, Lingyao went and bought four family buckets. Since the kid wasn't picky, the type didn't matter.
She even planned to take any leftovers home to save on cooking lunch the next day.
However, half an hour later… Lingyao wiped the cold sweat from her brow, looked at the little guy chewing on chicken bones again, and asked …i=70> "Still not full?"

The dog's face was so red it looked like it could bleed, and it kept its head down, not saying a word for a long time. Lingyao, impatient, asked, "I'm asking you a question
! Tell the truth! How much more do you need to eat before you're full?"
"About...about twice as much as before, I guess... um...I guess that'll be about it..."
Lingyao's mouth gaped open in surprise. She was now certain her premonition was correct; this child...was truly
extraordinary...
