Chapter Thirty-Six
"No! Stop...stop!"
Quills slumped in a pool of blood, staring at me in terror. In my hand was a
longsword made of ice. He trembled as he continued to beg for mercy, but his lips had barely parted when the ice sword pierced his shoulder. His pleas
turned into screams that echoed around us. Without hesitation, I pulled out the ice sword and slashed it with a cold light. His right arm
flew to the side like a broken piece of rotten wood, and a large amount of blood gushed out from the clean cut. He stared in disbelief
at his severed arm not far away, then at his own bleeding shoulder, and he stopped screaming. His eyes
were wide open to their limit in disbelief.
"You..."
He uttered only one word, seemingly wanting to say something more, but the ice sword had already slashed across his cheek from one side to the other
, his increasingly distorted features becoming ferocious and grotesque. His empty right arm seemed to still be reaching for me, and the twisting of his body
caused blood to splatter before my eyes, a crimson blur, until the blood seeped into my eyeballs, the stinging pain forcing me to open
my eyes.

all my memories. The last thing I remember is Thorne trying to trap me in an ice prison, and then everything is
blank. Now I remember something Argus said to me before: when he found me
, I wasn't alone. He didn't continue. Could that dream have been real?
Argus, who suddenly offered to tutor me individually, hasn't shown up for the past few days. Riley told me that
Argus is sick and might need to rest for a few days. I've been reassigned to my regular classes. The

feeling.

only struck behind Ross each time. Ross's strength lay in his ability to
simultaneously chant wind magic in his mind while casting his spells. Many didn't understand why his seemingly clumsy magic, unable to even abandon the chanting
, possessed such immense power and speed.
The girl before me clearly underestimated Ross. A
confident smile, as if she'd learned it from Fiona, graced her face as she attempted to throw her lightning sword. But Ross stopped chanting abruptly,
turning and hurling his Cross of Light Prison. Cross of Light Prison was the longest incantation among mid-level light magic. While
its release lacked a dazzling, intimidating effect, resembling a simple light magic projectile, its speed was
the fastest of all mid-level spells. Even so, due to its immense length, it
was often abandoned in speed-based attacks.
As the lightning sword pierced the sphere of light, the girl's eyes widened in surprise. The azure, translucent sword
was sucked into the sphere as it passed, and the sphere continued to accelerate. The wind magic amplified the spell's

abdomen. Instantly, four beams of holy light erupted from her body, forming a gigantic

This previously underestimated spell now shone brightly, drawing cheers from the audience. The Cross of Light Prison itself
was a control spell without offensive power, but its ability to absorb magic it touched as a secondary ability was significant. Ross gave
me an exaggerated smile, reminding me of what he had once told me: "These spells exist for
a reason. Just because people don't pay attention doesn't mean they're unimportant. I love these overlooked spells; they can catch you off guard

"Looks like I underestimated you,"
Fiona's voice suddenly rang out from behind. In my joy, I lowered my guard and didn't notice

her appear shimmering. Where was Jay? Had she already lost?
