【The Tale of the Holy Knight】(Chapter Seven)

Chapter Eight: The Price of Leaving the Tavern for a Stroll
"Perception Limit, Released..." He slowly closed his eyes, thrusting his spear to the right, then, before touching Guber
, swung it to the left, transferring it to his left hand before lifting it backward and finally bringing it down from directly in front.
"Twenty-four thrusts are probably the limit!"
"I...I mean...can we...leave now?" The fat man
felt quite uneasy watching Guber, whose attacks had been completely blocked. How had he gotten involved with this Orchid Dawn Order? He'd never heard of them before
.
"Since it's the client's wish, let's go!" Seeing the sweat dripping from Guber, he already knew
the outcome of the battle; leaving was inevitable.
"Oh dear, what a pity. Hopefully, we'll see that busty beauty again next time!" Lei Luo smoothly
tore open a teleportation scroll and followed his companion into the slightly glowing blue portal.
"..."
"Clang!" The spear pierced Guber's heart. As it was slowly withdrawn, a mist of blood sprayed out. The black-
haired woman narrowed her eyes, looking at Guber's head lying on the ground, his eyes still open. The spear swept across again
, and Guber's head exploded as if it had been filled with goblin-made explosives. Scattered blood clots flew into the air,
raining down on the back of the black-clad woman who had already turned and left.
"Finally out!" Looking at the bright sunshine, Sersia sighed deeply. She planned
to use the opportunity of walking around to ease her frustrated mood, and at the same time, think about her training plan.
"Hmm? What's this? The smell of blood...?" The town wasn't large. After walking a short distance, Sersia
saw a house outside the town. The once charming house now
looked dilapidated and disgusting due to the broken door and the strong smell of blood. As the distance decreased, the smell of blood became stronger.
Who could have caused such a strong smell of blood?
"Tap tap tap." Just as Cersia was about to walk through the gate and look inside, she turned around and saw a group of light cavalry. Each of them
wore the kingdom's standard light leather armor, their exquisite silver armbands gleaming in the sunlight. Upon seeing Cersia, the
cavalrymen immediately kicked their mounts, accelerating.
"Cavalry?" Seeing the approaching cavalry, Cersia decided it was safer to leave now. As for
why there were cavalry here, she could wait until she returned.
"Halt!" The lead cavalryman shouted, and Cersia found herself heavily
surrounded. Each cavalryman drew his sword, looking warily at the bewildered Cersia.
"Um…" It seemed she was being treated as a murderer. This was bad. Should she have stayed in
the tavern?
A cavalryman leaned close to the leader's ear and whispered a few words. The leader shook his head. "No matter what
, take him back to headquarters for investigation. Eli, Charles, you two are responsible for taking him back!" "
Um..."
Two cavalrymen drew their swords. "Excuse me, but please come back to headquarters with us until we can prove your innocence
. Now, please hand over your swords to me!" One of the cavalrymen, who looked rather pale, gently pointed to
the sword at Sersia's waist.
"Um..."
"Ili, why are you wasting so much breath talking to him? Just take the sword, tie him up, and go back. I really don't
understand you. You're always so polite to those criminals. They don't deserve to be citizens of the kingdom!"
"He's not a criminal yet. According to the kingdom's laws, an ordinary citizen has the right to be protected until he
is proven guilty..."
"Um..."
"Even if he's not a criminal, he's definitely an accomplice. Hey, what are you standing there for? Do you want us to go and beg you
to give us your sword? Don't make me angry, or you'll regret it!"
"..." Cecilia unfastened the longsword from her waist and handed it over. It seemed there was no
possibility of a peaceful departure. Fight? Looking at the two clearly meticulously crafted standard longswords, Cecilia decided against
trying to escape.
After roughly snatching the sword from Cecilia's hand, Charles put a rope around Cecilia's neck
and then kicked the horse's flank.
"Ugh..." Cersia, clutching the rope around her neck, felt her breathing becoming increasingly difficult. No
way... she was going to die! She really shouldn't have left the tavern. Then she passed out.
"Useless!" Ciel, spitting angrily on the ground, impatiently jumped off his horse and
tied Cersia's hands with rope as well. He had originally intended to drag her for a while, but this guy was such a waste.
He probably wasn't that important. Getting the black-haired woman's name or guild would
be the biggest success. Captain... you bastard! You clearly said, "With me here, there won't be any problems
!"
"Cial, you can't treat him like a criminal! He's still
a citizen protected by the kingdom's laws..."
"Ptooey!" Another spit followed. Making sure the rope was tied, Ciel jumped back onto his
horse and gave it a hard squeeze. If that kid was unlucky enough to crash into a rock, there was nothing he could do.
As evening fell, "Why isn't Cecilia back yet? My breasts are so sore!" Asyaran
complained, rubbing her breasts. Honestly, where has she been? What an irresponsible man!
Asyaran felt a pang of heartache seeing the milk flowing from her breasts. It could be used for skincare, but
the feeling of squeezing it herself was completely different from having Cecilia suckle it.
"Brother…" Where are you, brother? You promised me, you big idiot brother.
"Hmm?" Cecilia opened her eyes and looked around. The dark cell was empty except for a puddle of water
. Outside the iron bars was a small table with an oil lamp on it,
flickering in a draft that seemed to extinguish at any moment. That was all
. It seemed she was locked in a solitary cell, and a separate one at that.
"Nobody..." A pain in her throat stopped her from speaking further. She wondered
how many days she'd be locked up; her sister must be worried sick. Sigh, her intuition was right; she should have started cultivating a long time ago
. But Asyaran...
Ah, she really was someone with no self-control...
"Looks like you're awake. Charles, you'd better stay calm. Although we're a border patrol, that doesn't
mean we have the right to kill or torture any citizen!" With the sound of footsteps, Eli and Charles
entered.
"Is that so? I remember a sage once said that everyone is guilty until proven innocent, right?
In that case, some special methods used to help obtain information are permissible, aren't they?"
"That's true, but according to the kingdom's laws..."
"Alright, now that you're awake, answer the questions. And you'd better not try to hide anything. Now
, what's your name? What guild do you belong to? Where is that woman now? Who ordered you to assassinate
that fat man? Why did you assassinate him? What was your purpose?" Charles had already decided to use a barrage
of questions to make Sersia dizzy. If this guy didn't confess properly, he'd give him a
good beating; he really disliked that face.
"...My name is Sersia, I don't belong to any guild, I don't know who that woman you mentioned is, and I've
never even seen that fat man who was assassinated. I only arrived in this town yesterday..." Although she could
n't understand a word Charles was saying, Sersia still tried her best to answer the questions about herself.
"Hmph, I told you, Eli, your methods won't work at all. This kind of person needs a good beating
before he'll know what to say!" Charles rolled up his sleeves and punched Sersia hard
in the stomach. Looking at Sersia's pained face, Charles smiled with satisfaction. Just like that.
"Ugh..." Sersia felt like throwing up her breakfast, suppressing the urge to vomit and
gasping for breath. She didn't know how to leave, but that would make her a wanted
criminal by the kingdom, making it impossible to go to the capital to study.
"Will you talk or not?" Looking at Charles, who remained silent and only panting, Charles felt his anger building. What
protected citizen? Here, the kingdom's border patrol was the law. Looking at this guy, he knew
he wasn't anyone important. It seemed unlikely anyone would come to rescue him, so…
“I’m telling the truth, I…” Just as she recovered from the nausea and was about to mention Pastor Chaz’s
letter of recommendation, Sersia saw Charles clench his fist again, followed by a sharp pain shooting from her stomach to her brain
. She thought she’d throw up in ten more blows.
“Looks like you won’t talk unless I beat you properly!” Several more punches landed on his stomach. It seemed
she hadn’t hit him hard enough; he still wouldn’t speak. Well, then, she wouldn’t blame herself. White battle aura began to gather. Hmph, this
punch would surely get him talking.
“Charles, that’s enough! He’s not a criminal, and besides, he’s not even a qualified swordsman of the kingdom. If you
keep hitting him like this, he’ll probably die before you get anything out of him!” Holding Charles’s arm, Eli turned around.
“I hope you think this through today, or don’t blame us for being impolite tomorrow!” With that, she forcefully dragged Charles away from
the cell.
"..." No way, I have a certificate from the priest! I didn't even get a chance to speak... Sersia felt
a darkness engulf her. How could this be? Feeling the coldness on her wrist, she sighed, then
tightly shut her mouth. It seemed there was no chance at all.
"Sersia's gone, hmm..." Sheila yawned as she picked up a piece of bread. Hmm, the perfect
texture, but there was only one. Being woken up in the middle of the night was really unpleasant. That guy, when he gets back, I'll give him a good talking to. I'll teach him a lesson for making a lady lose sleep because of him —
a grave original
