[Death Game] Volume 1, Chapter 1

Volume One: Fighting for Survival,

Chapter One: Fleeting Happiness

Happiness always arrives unexpectedly; it likes to play hide-and-seek,

slipping away just when you think you can catch it. But when you're about to give up in disappointment, it reveals its alluring

smile. Whether you gain it or lose it is no longer important; what matters is that you tried so hard to get close,

only to linger on its edge time and time again. He

stretched out his body with great comfort, then, with a wicked grin, secretly slipped his claws into the blanket beside him, touching

something warm and soft. *Snap!* A crisp sound rang out, and Fang Tang withdrew his claws with a wry smile: "Wife, we did *that* yesterday,

why are you still like this?" The woman, her back turned, said, "Tch, so what if I let you do it once?

Go buy me breakfast, make me happy, and then we'll talk." "Yes, ma'am!" Fang Tang jumped up,

his slightly chubby body trembling for a long time. The woman snapped, "Can't you be a little gentler? Don't you know

how much you weigh?!"

Fang Tang, carrying freshly steamed buns in one hand and a bowl of eight-treasure porridge in the other, hummed a little tune as she

walked briskly down the street. She couldn't help but sigh, realizing that being in love could be so enjoyable. She wished she had found someone sooner.

But it wasn't too late now; her job was stable, and she'd met a girl she liked. She could basically start thinking about

how to spend the rest of her life.

Thinking about yesterday's passion, she felt a little overwhelmed. The soft, delicate body, the smooth skin—

it was a little disappointing in the dim light, but the sensation had almost made her bleed. However, even if she hadn't

eaten pork, she'd at least seen pigs run. She hadn't watched every AV imaginable, but she'd seen at least a hundred

. She knew she needed foreplay, and she knew where to start. But lacking experience,

she messed up her first attempt at caressing those breasts. "What are you doing? So gently, are you kneading a steamed bun?!" Fang Tang didn't react

immediately , but she still increased the pressure. "Ouch, you're so clumsy! You want to crush me?!" Under

constant instructions, the girl finally let out an alluring moan. Fang Tang wiped away sweat; this was

more tiring . He couldn't get to the point now. Just thinking about it filled him with a surge of

energy... It was still a bit dark, and there weren't many cars or pedestrians on the road so early. Fang Tang was thinking about

his girlfriend, and a smile unconsciously crept onto his face. Suddenly, a screeching screech of brakes pierced his ears, and

Fang Tang felt an overwhelming sense of terror descend upon him.

Looking at the scattered steamed buns and spilled congee not far away, Fang Tang's hazy thoughts drifted to:

"She's going to get angry again..."

He abruptly opened his eyes, cold sweat pouring down his body. Fang Tang raised his hands; they were both there, and he felt no

pain or discomfort. Was he dreaming? He instinctively reached for his glasses, but there was nothing there.

He sat up abruptly, his vision clear, even more so than when he wore his glasses. No longer paying attention

to her surroundings,

Fang Tang was overwhelmed with panic and unable to calm her chaotic thoughts. As the surrounding noise gradually increased, Fang Tang surprisingly calmed down.

Letting out a long breath, she chuckled to herself, "I've always prided myself on being rational, so why am I so flustered?"

She stood up and looked around again. It was a circular arena, about 50 meters in diameter. The ground

was covered in a strange substance that emitted a faint, deep blue glow, while beyond the arena lay pitch-black darkness. Fang Tang walked to

the edge and peered out. A clear voice called out, "Hey, be careful!" Fang Tang turned around to see

a pretty young girl, probably in high school. She smiled and said, "Thank you." The girl was

just one of many people; everyone else was crying and screaming. Fang Tang walked up to the little girl. "Hello,

my name is Fang Tang." "Hello, my name is Jiang Yuelin. Do you know where this is?" Fang Tang shook her head.

"By the way, do you remember your last memory?" Jiang Yuelin nodded. "I remember

shopping with my classmate in a mall. I don't know what happened, but the mall's ceiling collapsed. I saw something was about to hit my classmate, so I pushed

her, and then I don't know what happened." Fang Tang nodded. "If I'm not mistaken, we're already dead."

"Dead? You said we're already dead?" Jiang Yuelin was very surprised and unconsciously raised her voice. The surroundings

suddenly became quiet. A young man in sportswear ran over: "Hello, you mean we all died

and then resurrected here, right?" "That's just my guess, because I was hit by a truck before I

ended up here." "Oh, we're in the same boat! I saw a high-voltage cable

break while I was exercising this morning, and it was about to hit a girl, so I rushed over and pushed her away." Jiang Yuelin asked curiously, "You were

electrocuted, how can you be in the same boat as him?" "Well, the high-voltage line had already lost power, so I wasn't electrocuted

, but I rushed too hard and ended up in the road, where I was hit by a car..." Jiang Yuelin opened her mouth:

"Ah, you... haha..." Fang Tang just smiled lightly. During this time, several more people came in

, and the last one to come in saw Fang Tang and screamed: "A ghost!" Instantly, everyone's eyes turned to

the screaming person.

Fang Tang looked at the man with a puzzled expression. Jiang Yuelin ran over and asked, "What happened?" The man said nervously,

"I saw him in a car accident. He was run over by a truck, and his upper and lower body were separated!" Jiang Yuelin's eyes widened

and she screamed, "A ghost!" "What are you yelling about!" A rough voice suddenly rang out. It was a newcomer

, but his fierce demeanor and fully armed equipment made everyone tense. At this moment, four

more people entered, but none of them showed any signs of panic. The newcomers split into two groups, seemingly due to a conflict.

The burly, fully armed man said loudly, "Alright, listen up. You can call me Brother Tiger. This one,"

he pointed to a tall, thin man, "this one is your Brother Leopard. And that one," he pointed to a short, fat third

man, "you can call him Brother Monkey!" The man in the suit among the two people on the other side said contemptuously, "No wonder you're a

bunch of beasts." "What did you say!" Brother Tiger shouted angrily. The man in the suit completely ignored them and addressed the crowd, "Welcome

. You've probably guessed it already; this is the world after your deaths. But you probably didn't

guess this world will also let you die again." Tiger snorted and muttered, "Enough with the nonsense."

The man in the suit continued, "You will participate in a game, a death game. If you can complete the game, then..."

"You might see the person you want to see again, and you can get anything you dream of:

money , fame, health..." the woman continued, "and beauty and youth."

Fang Tang's heart stirred. If she could return alive, she would have a chance to see her again.

The man in the suit continued, "From now on, please follow my instructions. I will help you complete the game."

Tiger chuckled, "Don't listen to him. He'll only use you as cannon fodder. Follow me. I

have three experienced players here." Unfortunately, the burly Tiger and his two companions, who didn't seem like good people, led

most people to choose the man in the suit.

Fang Tang stared at the man in the suit, and after seeing him smile, she went to Tiger. Fang Tang asked, "Tiger,

can I have some weapons?" Tiger was glaring angrily at the man in the suit. Hearing Fang Tang speak, he simply

grunted and took out a common Type 57 pistol and a half-meter-long machete from his military backpack.

Fang Tang looked at the pistol, about to ask how to use it, when Brother Hou walked over and said, "Brother, I'll teach you how to use a gun."

He then began explaining how to release the safety, how to load and fire, and how to change the magazine. After teaching him, he gave Fang Tang

two more magazines: "Do a good job, death games really do kill people."

There were a total of 5 veterans and 12 newbies, but only Fang Tang chose to team up with Brother Hu and his two teammates.

The man in the suit glanced coldly at Fang Tang, then smiled nonchalantly and said, "Brother Hu, see you in the game."

Brother Hu just snorted and ignored him.

A faint voice drifted over: "Attention all players, the Death Game begins in 10 minutes.

The game's setting is the original Earth during World War II, in Jincheng, Country C. The mission is to survive for fifteen days.

Restrictions: your activity area is within Jincheng and 500 meters outside the city walls. Exiting this area will result in elimination." Tiger and several other veteran players

gasped: "It's a war-themed game!" Fang Tang asked curiously, "A war-themed game? What's wrong?"

Tiger said cautiously, "It's very difficult. No one can guarantee they'll survive longer on the battlefield. And, importantly

, your enemies, although they are humans like you..." "But they have weapons and numbers, and they're even smarter than you

. Bullets don't discriminate." The man in the suit surprisingly agreed, saying, "Yes, it looks like our difficulty has increased

." The woman said somewhat helplessly, "You should have exchanged for a protective suit first, Brother Feng, you have to protect me."

The man in the suit sighed, "Who told you to be so vain? Remember to hide behind me." The fat Monkey King saw Fang Tang's question and

said, "Each time you complete the game, you will get some points. Points can be used to exchange for various equipment,

even magical and futuristic equipment, as long as you have enough points." Fang Tang nodded.

The teleportation began, and everything went black for a moment before returning to normal. However, Fang Tang found that

there was no one around him; he had been scattered. Fang Tang cursed inwardly, "This GM is too unethical. In this environment, having many people is

n't necessarily good, but being alone is definitely worse. This is a battlefield! If there are many people, even if you can't outrun

bullets, as long as you run faster than the people around you, you have a chance to survive." Fortunately, he still had

a machete and a pistol, but for an untrained ordinary person, these two things were more of a psychological comfort.
