Chapter 79 Midnight Haunted House

Unlike the lively sounds of heavy breathing and soft moans in Wuyue's room, the night was now deep and quiet.

He quickly glanced back at the hall door; the faint light inside made him feel a little more at ease. He hurriedly took the opportunity

to urinate.

Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine; something seemed to be rubbing against his back.

"Stop it!" He freed his right hand and shoved it behind him. These guys loved playing pranks, especially

after drinking.

He slowly turned around and couldn't help but gasp! A man-made figure was suspended in mid-air behind him, with only half of

place.

In that terrifying moment, Captain Zhang, a veteran of countless battles, possessed far greater courage than the lowly soldiers.

He managed to stand his ground, not fleeing. With a clang, he drew his sword and cried out in a trembling voice, "Brothers, don't...don't be afraid!

Grab your weapons and charge!"

He swung his sword towards the spot he remembered the demon had been hiding. With a sharp "thud," the blade sliced through

flesh , the feel of it embedding itself in bone exactly as he had imagined—a clear hit. Yet, there was no scream. Apart from

the "thud," there was no sound, not even the rustling of branches in the wind. It was as if the night had suddenly

been gripped by the throat!

This intensified his terror. He stood frozen for a moment, then suddenly a bloodcurdling scream came from behind him—a sharp,

short scream, like someone opening their mouth to cry out only to have something suddenly and forcefully bite their neck! This wasn't the demon's scream;

it was clearly the voice of his subordinate, Zhao Hai!

He suddenly remembered the tinderbox he had on him, hurriedly took it out and lit it. A bright light flashed before his eyes, stinging them .

He closed his eyes briefly and then opened them again. In the blink of an eye, Zhao Hai had collapsed behind him. He knelt down and checked his breath; he was already dead

. His fate was exactly the same as Wang Shitou's—his soul had been sucked away by a vengeful ghost! His other two brothers stood there, their faces pale and trembling,

into darkness!

Captain Zhang felt a chill run down his spine and roared, "Brothers, all of you, come out!"

There was no response. He roared for a while longer before he heard a creak from inside, and a door opened, revealing a flickering

light. As they drew closer, it was his other three brothers.

By the light of their candles, Wang Shitou and Zhao Hai lay dead on the spot, but the evil spirit was nowhere to be seen.

witnessed .

Since the early morning of the 15th, when the government troops captured the Rakshasa Sect's stronghold in Jinan Prefecture, the remaining Rakshasa Sect members had fled
