Alibuda Chronicles Part 1: Volume 3, Chapter 3

Chapter Three: My murder and theft
scheme succeeded. I finally lured my beautiful little apprentice into bed. After thoroughly satisfying my desires, I helped Xue get dressed again and, following the usual procedure, began to gently comfort her, now deprived of her virginity.
Perhaps it shouldn't be called the usual procedure, because in the past, when I was hanging out with a bunch of noblemen in the capital, after raping women, we never wasted words except for intimidation. But with Xue, because I didn't want to force myself on her every time in the future, it would always be beneficial to coax her properly at this moment.
"Actually... if Master really wants it that much, Xue... Xue is willing... why do such a terrible thing?"
This was absolutely nonsense. If you really wanted it, why did I keep talking until my mouth was dry for the past year, and you still resisted to the death, requiring me to spend money to drug you before I could get my hands on you? It was blatant lying.
However, to comfort someone, I naturally couldn't say that now. After a barrage of sweet talk and a promise to rescue the leopard, Ah Xue finally stopped crying and started laughing.
"Okay, let's go get the leopard out... Hmm, wait, I just remembered, there's one more condition. I need you to promise me first,"
I said. "When we get back, I want you to focus on practicing dark magic for me every day. No more excuses, understand?"
"W-Didn't we already agree on that? Why add this?"
"Stop nagging! I've already taken advantage of your situation, so I might as well take everything. If you don't promise to practice properly, I won't help you!"
Ah Xue had always been reluctant to practice dark magic, resulting in incredibly slow progress. She hadn't mastered a single spell yet. Taking advantage of this opportunity, I made her agree to everything before I promised to carry out the rescue.
This wildlife rescue plan encountered a thorny problem right from the start. We had no idea where the Jade Dragon Leopard was being kept. After the three-day mating feast, Suva Tarla had hidden the rare beast away, its whereabouts completely unknown.
Later, it was that mysterious painter who helped us. I don't know why he was so resourceful, but he told us that in Suva Tarla's main palace, there was a secret passage leading to an underground chamber where the leopard was imprisoned. To enter that chamber, besides knowing the path, we also needed the key on Suva Tarla's person.
It sounded difficult, but in the end, we had to resort to our old trick: having Ah Xue, dressed in a seductive outfit, seduce the leopard, then knock him unconscious in his bedchamber and steal the key.
Successfully entering, after navigating the long tunnel, the size of the underground chamber was beyond imagination. Although we didn't have time to examine it closely, I was certain this underground palace was extraordinary. The carvings and murals on it clearly far surpassed the age of the palace above, likely the remains of some ancient civilization.
That shameless, lecherous leopard! It directly renovated someone else's ruins and then boasted about its palace like this! It's outrageous, with absolutely no concept of cultural heritage.
Without time to think further, we found the Jade Dragon Leopard imprisoned in a magic circle in a secret chamber. Six cursed chains were still wrapped around the surrounding walls, its body covered in blood and badly injured, yet its fur remained smooth and supple, its posture breathtakingly beautiful.
Perhaps mistaking us for people taking it out to breed, the Jade Dragon Leopard let out a fierce growl, its eyes gleaming with malice, and the chains clanged as it pulled.
"Hey! Forget it! Look how dangerous this thing is. If we let it go, it might bite our heads off first!"
Ah Xue stood in front of the dragon leopard, saying, "No! Master, look at it, it's covered in wounds, so pitiful! We must rescue it from these bad people."
I thought about it and agreed. We couldn't find the Staff of the Saint; if we didn't get rid of this thing, how would we explain ourselves? Without further ado, I sent Ah Xue to approach the dangerous animal while I went to unlock the surrounding chains, preparing for the rescue.
"Ah!"
I heard Ah Xue scream behind me; the Jade Dragon Leopard had already bitten her. If she hadn't pulled her hand back quickly, half her hand would have been swallowed whole.
"You damned beast!"
I roared in fury, about to kick it a couple of times, when suddenly I heard a series of mechanical clicks, followed by a muffled, thunderous shaking of the earth and rocks. The walls on both sides suddenly clamped together in the middle.
"Damn it!"
Every adventurer knows this old-fashioned mechanism called a "thousand-pound wall." Though simple, it's incredibly effective; if you're too slow, you'll be crushed into a meat patty. I didn't dare delay and immediately rushed towards the door, only to see Ah Xue, disregarding her own safety, still pulling at the chains on the wall.
"Ah Xue, are you crazy! Come out now!"
"But... if I run away, this poor leopard will die here. I have to save it before I leave!" In
that life-or-death moment, this girl was incredibly stubborn. Tears welled in her eyes as she tugged at the chains on the wall, refusing to escape on her own. But the mechanism was too fast; she had only managed to pull off four chains when the walls on both sides clamped down. Ah Xue pushed out with one arm, and with her monstrous strength, she actually managed to hold the wall at bay.
"Please... Master, there are still two... Please save the little leopard..."
Ah Xue pleaded tearfully, her two delicate arms shaking uncontrollably. Anyone could tell she could only hold on for a short while.
I scoffed at this mindless, sentimental behavior. Besides, with my strength, there was no way I could pull the chains off the wall. After a moment's hesitation, I immediately ran outside to find the mechanism to stop it.
As soon as I stepped outside, I saw Suva Tarra, whose head we had smashed with vases, now gripping the control mechanism and laughing maniacally.
"Hmph! You've discovered the secret of this underground palace; none of you will leave here alive!"
Thinking of Ah Xue's danger, I panicked and rushed forward, wanting to fight this orc hand-to-hand. Alas! The result, of course, was that I was slapped to the ground, a long, bloody gash across my chest.
"I'll kill you first, and then… ah!"
What he would do after killing me was unimaginable, because before he could finish speaking, a dark shadow darted forward like lightning, tackling Suva Tarra to the ground. Before his body even touched the ground, his throat had been bitten through, and copious amounts of dark red blood flowed across the floor.
I looked closely and saw it was the Jade Dragon Leopard, which, with Ah Xue's help, had broken all its chains and leaped out, biting the villain who had tormented it for so long.
The Jade Dragon Leopard looked at me, showing no intention of attacking, seemingly having already distinguished friend from foe. Without further ado, I quickly stopped the mechanism and fled with the exhausted Ah Xue.
Not long after escaping the underground palace, we were surrounded by a large number of leopard-man soldiers. Unable to find the palace owner, two blood-covered suspects had fled with their most valuable possessions, one of them with pockets full of gold and silver jewels—anyone could tell what had happened. As
soon as the battle began, we were immediately at a disadvantage. Just as we were devising a plan to escape, we suddenly saw Mao Yan'an outside the encirclement, waving at us and urging us to head west.
Following his instructions, we had only run a few steps when we heard a deafening roar… This guy had actually prepared so many explosives in this main palace! Once detonated, the effect was truly earth-shattering. Everyone was scrambling to escape, naturally having no time to pay attention to us anymore.
"Master, Mr. Mao is such a good person!"
Good my foot! He planted so much explosives. If he blew us up too, would he be saving people or harming them? But it's really strange, where did this guy get so much explosives?
Still reeling from the shock, the two of us and our beast charged straight down the mountain, fearing our pursuers would catch up. But halfway down, a large group of people surrounded us. More than half were guests who had originally attended the birthday banquet, including some highly skilled individuals. They immediately summoned their beast demons, surrounding us. A large number of leopard warriors also rushed down the mountain, forming a complete encirclement. It seemed we had nowhere to run.
"Ah Xue, see! It's all because you didn't practice your magic properly. If you had practiced it well from the beginning, we wouldn't be in this mess now!"
Even in this life-or-death situation, I didn't forget to take the opportunity to lecture Ah Xue, complaining to her. She just tugged at my sleeve and whispered, "Master, I'm sorry. From now on… I'll definitely study hard. Ah Xue will never dare disobey you again. Please don't be angry…"
Seeing her sobbing, I felt a pang of pity, reached out and hugged her, gently comforting her. As the encirclement tightened and hundreds of torches and lanterns drew closer, the Jade Dragon Leopard stepped forward, its head held high and roaring with a chilling aura that startled the approaching beast demons, causing them to retreat two steps. However, seemingly recognizing its weakened state, the beast demons pressed forward again.
I secretly pondered that if I summoned the Dragon Spider of the Hellish God of Lust, I might have a chance, but the enemy outnumbered me, and defeat was inevitable unless I obtained the Ten Thousand Soul Banner, which offered no hope of resurrection.
Amidst a series of shouts, several exploding, corroded beast demons roared and pounced. Just as I was at a loss, I suddenly heard a long series of explosions. The beast demons that had pounced seemed to have struck something in mid-air, blasting into pieces.
Before we could even figure out what was happening, several extremely powerful whooshing sounds rang out, like someone wielding a long whip. The fierce gale forced everyone surrounding us back. When we opened our eyes after a flurry of flying sand and stones, we saw a circle on the ground, encircling us.
(Sword energy—this wasn't a whip, but the result of a top-tier master wielding sword energy. This power… it's at least level five…
no, at least level six, the level of a master like Leng Linglan…) My martial arts skills are meager, but due to my family's tradition of martial arts training, my ability to judge the skill of a master is higher than that of ordinary noble children. I was able to accurately determine the level of the newcomer at this moment. Some of the orcs recognized this fact and looked up. On the hundred-foot cliff, they could vaguely see a dark figure standing proudly with a sword across its edge, warning everyone to retreat. Even from this distance, the power hadn't diminished, and the swordsmanship was so divine—this skill was truly astonishing.
The orcs erupted in uproar and launched another attack. This time, several chieftains used powerful beast demons to directly attack the figure atop the rock wall. Simultaneously, a massive horde of beast demons surged towards us.
What followed was truly unimaginable. A whistling sound of sword energy filled the air, and a rain of blossoms tore through the sky, pinning and blasting countless beast demons of all sizes to pieces—earth claws, stone threads, exploding gu… their corpses piled high outside the circle.
The focused attacks launched by the chieftains were ineffective. The released Platinum Silverbacks, Human-faced Birds, and Minotaur were blasted to smithereens by the rain of sword energy before they even reached their destination. Even the powerful Isoganda Wildcat, despite its advantageous terrain, had its head severed with a single sword strike.
As the two powerful level-five beast-demons, the Sharp-Clawed Wyvern and the Salt-Transforming Wyvern, successfully stormed the cliff top under the cover of one beast-demonding beast, the orcs cheered. But this cheer was quickly replaced by screams of terror as the two wyverns were cleaved into sixteen large pieces of flesh and blood and fell to the ground.
Regardless of the era, a warrior capable of single-handedly slaying a dragon was considered an invincible symbol, even a wyvern of lesser power than a pure-blooded dragon. The orcs dared not fight any longer and vanished in an instant.
With the crisis averted, I dared not be careless. Who knew what this person's purpose was? Just as I was about to ask, a whooshing sound rang out, and a slender figure descended sharply from the heights, landing before us.
"Thank you for saving me. I haven't yet had the pleasure of learning from you..."
The words of thanks I was about to utter turned to stunned astonishment upon seeing the woman's beautiful smiling face. She was an acquaintance, a woman I knew very well, yet I never expected to meet her again in such an inland place.
"My little love, are you alright?"
"Dragon Girl Sister... why... are you here?"
Looking at the beautiful figure before me, I couldn't believe my eyes. The Dragon Girl Sister, Xia Hua Tian Nu Li Hua Mei, who often lingered in my heart, was now standing before me with breathtaking beauty, in this desolate southern land far from the eastern sea. This... how could this be?
As the commander of the anti-Black Dragon King coalition, her workload was beyond the imagination of ordinary people. Moreover, her recent guerrilla war against the Black Dragon Society had brought a glimmer of hope to the long-oppressed resistance forces. Logically, she should be extremely busy. How could she be in this remote borderland thousands of miles from the sea?
All sorts of doubts flashed through my mind, and then I was speechless, because the stunning beauty standing before me was simply too beautiful.
In the moonless and windless night, the Dragon Girl Sister simply stood there, like a source of light, illuminating everything. She wore her hair in the style of an ancient palace dress, with beautiful bangs framing her forehead. A high bun, several inches long, adorned with glistening, emerald-green dragon horns, was tied back with a pearl hairpin, the long, silky ends reaching her waist, swaying in the wind like a horse's tail.
Her upper body was clad in a dark purple, narrow-sleeved silk spring gown, subtly patterned with cloud and thunderbird designs. The neckline was perfectly plunging, revealing her snow-white skin below her jade-like neck and a large, warm, jade-like, mound-like bosom. A small tasseled vest was draped over it, the tassels barely concealing the glimpses of her exposed skin, making one's heart itch with desire. Her lower body was a matching, cloud-trimmed warrior's robe.
While not as stunningly large as Ah Xue's, her breasts were still prominently displayed, and a wide jade belt wrapped in silver thread cinched her slender waist, making it appear as delicate as a willow branch swaying in the wind. Her curves were alluring and captivating, yet the pure elegance and righteous aura she exuded made her seem untouchable. The Golden Crow Blood Sword, a divine weapon renowned throughout the land for vanquishing evil, hung at her left waist, further accentuating its owner's heroic spirit. Her
beauty was breathtaking, leaving one completely mesmerized, forgetting where they were.
To be precise, this was the third time I had met the Dragon Girl. The previous two times, I hadn't been able to clearly see each other's faces.
The first time was in a small port on the southeast coast, where we spent a night together because of the righteous army's war. She even helped me expel the dragon poison that had entered my body, saving my life. But because it was dark the entire time, I couldn't even see what she looked like.
The second time was in Nalivia, where, after uncovering the Black Dragon Society's conspiracy, Ah Xue and I were being hunted by the ninja army. The Dragon Girl came to track down the busty ninja, Ghost Evening Demon, scaring her away and saving me once more. This time it was just a fleeting glance; though stunning, I didn't even have time to exchange a proper word.
Then came this time, again in dire straits, she came to my rescue. It felt like a goddess descended from the heavens, always bringing me help in my despair; I was truly grateful beyond measure.
We stood there, gazing at each other. The Dragon Maiden smiled gracefully, appearing poised and elegant, but I could sense confusion and hesitation within her, along with other emotions I couldn't fathom.
In terms of status, she was the commander-in-chief of the East Sea Anti-Black Dragon Alliance, revered and respected by thousands; in terms of martial arts, she ranked among the five strongest in the world, rarely encountering an opponent after mastering her skills. In every aspect, she was far superior to me. Yet, this high and mighty goddess had shared a night with me, though we hadn't actually consummated our relationship. Would such a powerful woman consider this a profound disgrace?
(Oh no! I forgot to mention, many of these days, strong women are psychologically disturbed. They can't stand seeing men do well. If a man does even a little bit good in their eyes, they'll try to make him look bad and ruin his image in their minds, or even kill him! Good heavens, could Sister Dragon Girl be that kind of person?)
The thought sent chills down my spine. If that were the case, forget about rekindling our past romance; I'd likely be in immediate danger of losing my life, silenced by the Dragon Girl.
(No, I need to find a way to get her attention.
Waiting is one option, but I don't like having everything controlled by others. Besides, every time we meet, I'm always pathetically saved by this beauty, with no redeeming qualities. If this continues, my place in her heart will be like a pile of dung, easily trampled by another man.)
"Marshal Li, I am Viscount John Farrell, Commander of the Ten Thousand Cavalry of the Kingdom of Alibuda. It is a great pleasure to have the honor of meeting you."
I spoke with a slight bow, adopting the courtly etiquette, while simultaneously extending my hand, as if greeting an ordinary friend, hoping to shake hands with the beautiful woman before me.
Although we had met that night, I was not so presumptuous as to believe she would fall for me.
The Dragon Maiden's proud and unyielding heart was unlikely to be won over by anyone, let alone a good-for-nothing like me. I decided to first establish ourselves as ordinary friends, and let us... Establishing a relationship is the key point.
Seeing my gesture, a hint of admiration flashed in the Dragon Maiden's beautiful eyes. She seemed quite satisfied with my positioning, smiled slightly, and followed my gesture, bowing her head slightly as she said, "I am Li Huamei, the commander-in-chief of the Seven-Colored Fleet of the East Sea. General, you are a promising young man, dashing and debonair, renowned throughout the nations. I... I have been watching you for a long time."
Although I had won several battles and was highly praised domestically, in the eyes of a truly accomplished hero like the Dragon Maiden, I was actually insignificant. Naturally, I couldn't utter insincere words like "I have long admired you," and when she mentioned dashing and debonair... At that moment, a pair of beautiful eyes sized me up and down, revealing a mocking smile. Clearly, she didn't care about my scandalous affair at the palace, making me blush with embarrassment. But in the end, she still frankly extended her hand—a beautiful, snow-white hand like a piece of mutton-fat jade—to express her friendship.
If I had been foolish enough to shake her hand directly, today's meeting would have been a complete failure. In her eyes, I would have been nothing more than a young man who had risen to prominence overnight through a bit of luck, and then she would shake her head and laugh off what had happened between us, completely forgetting me.
With Sister Dragon Girl's qualities, I dare say, perhaps Zhou... The men surrounding her, intimidated by her military might, dared not openly pursue her, yet secretly harbored a deep affection, hoping to win her over and make her their prized wife. Especially after her devastating defeat of the Black Dragon Army and the subsequent rise to fame, young talents from various nations all aspired to be her. I lacked both literary and martial prowess, had no powerful backing, and had no long-standing relationship with her. My only advantage was that one night's encounter. If I didn't seize this advantage, how could I possibly defeat all my competitors?
The instant my hand touched hers, I deftly flipped it over, revealing the back of her hand, and with the same courtly etiquette, lightly kissed it, a fleeting touch.
"Ah..."
The Dragon Girl gasped softly, seemingly surprised by my surprise attack. A blush crept across her face, but quickly transformed into a confident smile, and she generously allowed me to kiss her.
"Dragon Girl, I'm not sure how much I hold in your heart, but from this moment on, I'm no different from all the men around you—I'm someone who genuinely wants to pursue you."
It took some courage to say these words clearly. Upon hearing this, the Dragon Girl's expression became quite serious, her thoughts unreadable. Clearly, my surprise attack had thrown her off balance.
I couldn't help but worry. I had initially thought that being direct and clear might be a better move than trying to be clever, more in line with this stunning beauty's wishes. But everything had been too hasty; perhaps this was too reckless.
Fortunately, someone timely helped to defuse the awkward situation.
"Oh, Master, who is this very beautiful lady?"
At the most awkward moment, Ah Xue tugged at my sleeve and asked in a low voice, full of doubt. At her feet, the jade dragon leopard sat there, not showing any ferocity, but its one green beastly eye was staring at me fiercely.
"Well, this very beautiful older sister is Marshal Li Huamei; this seemingly dull-witted fellow is my newly accepted disciple, the idiot Xue. As for that thing at her feet... never mind it, it's a beast destined for euthanasia sooner or later."
Although this Jade Dragon Leopard was a rare and precious beast, its constant hostility towards me really infuriated me.
Seriously though, this might be a memorable scene: Xia Hua and Dong Xue, two of the Four Heavenly Maidens, actually met here. If the news got out, it would surely cause a sensation, drawing crowds of drooling lecherous men. However, perhaps it was luck. The Dragon Maiden hadn't had the chance to see Tianhe Xueqiong before, and because of this, when she was captivated by Xue's ethereal beauty, I was able to casually brush it off.
Talking on the mountain path halfway up the mountain was really awkward. The three of us climbed back up the mountain and returned to Suva Talas's palace. We had expected a fierce battle, but to our surprise, when we returned to the magnificent palace, we found only chaos. Everywhere we looked, there were traces of people fleeing in panic, their belongings scattered on the ground.
While it's true that when a tree falls, the monkeys scatter, but the tree had only been down for a short time, yet these monkeys had vanished far too quickly. Suva Talas's rule was truly unpopular; the moment he died, his men didn't even have the will to avenge him. They immediately divided up his gold and silver treasures and disappeared without a trace.
Not far ahead, dozens of orc corpses lay scattered about, apparently killed by rivals in a fight for treasure. Just an hour ago, the palace had been so bustling and prosperous; now it was deathly silent, with only the acrid smell of extinguished fireworks irritating our noses, making it all the more unbearable.
(Damn it, I'm too late...)
Looking at the chaotic scene, I sighed deeply, regretting my slowness in missing the chance to divide up the gold and silver treasures of Suva Talas. My travel expenses and funds were running low, and if I didn't replenish them now, it would be a real headache. Sending Ah Xue out to grope people for money was certainly enjoyable, but after a while, I couldn't bear to part with it; it wasn't a long-term solution.
(Ah, right, there's something...)
Suddenly remembering something, I was about to speak, but then felt it inconvenient to say it in public. I'd better try it out secretly with Ah Xue later.
However, this thought didn't escape the discerning eyes of the Dragon Girl beside me. Before I could even utter a word, she smiled and said, "Thinking about the treasure vault here? It's indeed a good place. Protected by a bunch of barriers and mechanisms, ordinary people can't open it. Even if everything outside is looted, it'll probably remain unscathed."
My intentions were seen through, and I was somewhat flustered. The Dragon Girl smiled sweetly and strode forward.
"Come with me, my little lover."
After giving Ah Xue a few instructions and leaving her and Long Bao outside, I followed the Dragon Girl. As I ran, I felt a little smug. Ever since we met again, the Dragon Girl had called me her little lover. Did that mean I had a chance?
