Alibuda Chronicles Part 1: Volume 7, Chapter 7

Chapter Seven: Rebirth of Fiery Feathers.

Dazzling red light illuminated all directions, and the falling light transformed into dozens of fluttering red feathers, slowly drifting down. Touching my body, they caused unbearable burning pain; my clothes instantly burst into flames. I slapped my hand in horror to extinguish the flames, retreating away from the range of the falling feathers, my back slamming against the wall behind me.

A fair-skinned young girl's body was shrouded in a faint red glow, radiating light and heat like a source of light. The wings spread on her back had undergone a startling transformation; the pure white feathers had all turned crimson, and the pair of wings had multiplied. As she gracefully descended from the sky, the flames surrounding her swayed and trembled behind her, making it appear as if she were trailing a pair of vibrant fiery tails—the fiery tails of a phoenix!

The high-speed dive turned into a lightning-fast arc. A sense of foreboding washed over me as a powerful force slammed into me, smashing my body against the wall and sending me flying. Before I could even scream, a hand gripped my neck, lifting me abruptly. The intense heat burned my throat.

The strength of the grip and the heat of the palm told me of the other person's seriousness, and the burning eyes before me revealed the girl's shame, anger, and venom. Recalling everything that had happened these past few days, when Constable Yu Er regained her strength, I couldn't think of any reason why she wouldn't tear me to pieces.

"You..."

But to save my life, I still had to come up with a reason, and I had to do it before my throat, which was already cracking and throbbing, was officially severed and burned...

"You can kill me... anytime you want, you're already so strong... where can I run to?"

I started coughing up blood, seizing my last chance, and said, "But there are so many enemies outside, no matter how strong you are, can you defeat them all? Even if, even if you could... can you carry so many eggs with just your two hands?"

This had an effect. I knew Yu Hong's personality pretty well; she was used to sacrificing herself and was someone who considered the bigger picture. If keeping me alive could help her, she wouldn't kill me for her own personal grudge. Otherwise, she would have exposed me to the orcs during the ball game, and that great revenge would have been achieved.

The sounds of battle outside perfectly illustrated my words. The four-race war seemed to have reached a fever pitch. From the roars and howls of tigers and bears, I knew the allied forces of the three races had found a pretext to storm the mountain and were locked in fierce combat with the snake clan, hoping to take advantage of the chaos. There was no better opportunity than now.

Her furious eyes slowly regained their composure, and her grip loosened. Yu Hong finally abandoned her immediate plan for revenge, concealing her hatred within.

"I won't let you go. As soon as this is over, I'll settle accounts with you immediately."

With these cold words, Yu Hong released her grip and turned to walk outside.

Being able to temporarily avert the crisis was of course a great relief, but unfortunately, when she regained her senses and underwent her transformation, her mind was likely not entirely clear. Otherwise, if she had even slightly overheard Phoenix's words, it would have been very advantageous for me; perhaps I could have shifted most of the blame onto that female demon.

To have a woman who could obtain resources from various governments, was skilled at tracking, and possessed sixth-level power, hate me to the core—the future was truly bleak. Phoenix had indeed played a brilliant move.

The room where they were hiding had collapsed, but Yu Hong, who was about to walk outside, suddenly stopped, as if hesitating about something.

Seeing her hesitation, I took off my robe, leaving only my shorts, and handed her the outer robe.

From the moment we left until now, Yu Hong had been completely naked. Before, it was out of necessity, but now that she had regained her strength and dignity, she naturally didn't want to go out naked. Although she didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore, after a moment's hesitation, she still took the robe from my hand.

"Hmph, how impressive."

Thinking of how she had tearfully begged me not long ago, and how she had turned on me like the wind after regaining her strength, even though it was my own fault, I couldn't help but sneer as Yu Hong took the robe.

What she had said before, while certainly evoking pity, was actually a bit problematic…

It's tragic to have a dream one can't help having, but what about the sisters' attitude towards Ah Xue before? To discriminate against and despise her so mercilessly simply because of her birth—how can this be explained?

While the Winged Clan's plight is lamentable, what have they done? Their racial discrimination, their oppression of the weak, and their sense of superiority as the elite are the root causes of their current predicament. Yet, I see no genuine remorse or reflection in Yu Hong and the rest of the clan.

Yu Hong was moved by Ah Xue's sacrifices for the children and changed her previous disdain; from another perspective, this was merely a one-sided consideration of self-interest.

Therefore, although I sensed a noble sentiment in Yu Hong, I couldn't truly connect with her. After all, the Winged Clan's shallow and frivolous behavior leaves me with little to criticize. While the courage to sacrifice and not back down is commendable, failing to objectively understand the situation and devise solutions when faced with realities, and instead resorting to unilateral sacrifice, will only lead to the destruction of the entire clan and their eternal damnation.

Because of these thoughts, I couldn't help but say that when Yu Hong's attitude changed.

Logically, I shouldn't have provoked her at this moment, but since she wouldn't kill me now, and our grudges wouldn't be ruined by a little sarcasm, it wouldn't hurt to gain some verbal advantage while I could still speak.

"Thank you..."

Unexpectedly, Yu Hong didn't react to my sarcasm. Instead, she whispered her thanks and picked up her robe to put it on.

Was this the beginning of a painful lesson?

I didn't know, but it seemed like a good sign...

"Ah!" Just as

Yu Hong was putting on her robe and about to take a step, she suddenly screamed and quickly ripped it off, throwing it aside.

"Why are you putting it on and taking it off like that?"

Sharing the same boat, I disregarded what we had just said and went to check on Yu Hong. Only when I touched her bare shoulder did I realize her skin was burning hot.

"How could this be... How were you feeling just now?"

"When I put on my clothes, I suddenly felt so hot, like I was about to catch fire."

Yu Hong didn't want to talk to me, but the sounds of battle in the distance were getting closer, like the orcs in combat were approaching. She could only turn to me, the caster, for help.

Feeling like her body was about to catch fire after putting on clothes? Why would this happen? The Lustful God Spell shouldn't have this kind of aftereffect, but this time the spell didn't follow the usual procedure, so I couldn't think about it with common sense...

I considered all possibilities, but none of them were correct. A thought suddenly flashed through my mind. I paused for a moment, then explained to Yu Hong. Legend has it that some masters who practice fire-based martial arts have their internal energy boiling like fire when they practice. They must wear short shirts and shorts, or even be naked, to dissipate heat through their pores. Otherwise, the scorching true energy will be forced back into their internal energy, immediately leading to the dangerous situation of qi deviation. Although Yu Hong doesn't practice fire-based martial arts, the phoenix is a firebird, so perhaps there's a similar principle.

“I’m not entirely sure, but given your current situation, it’s very likely…”

The loud roar of the beast was already very close, the tense killing intent growing increasingly palpable, even accompanied by the roar of violets and flashes of lightning. The situation could no longer be delayed. Yu Hong picked up her robe again, gritted her teeth, and tore it into shreds.

“What are you doing? Using clothes to relieve yourself…”

Before I could finish speaking, Yu Hong wrapped the ripped pieces of cloth around her body. She wrapped them around her chest a few times, letting the strips constrict her round, snowy breasts, avoiding her wings, and tied a tight knot at her back, thus covering her body; the lower body was more complicated, so she finally wrapped the shreds of cloth around her crotch, making a makeshift thong.

“Wait a minute.”

Stopping Yu Hong's movements, I picked up the remaining scraps of cloth and wrapped them around her waist to make a small skirt. Otherwise, with just a thong covering her hips, her snow-white buttocks were completely exposed, and if she suddenly became aroused during the fight and the enemy noticed, it would be very bad.

"There's no other way in this situation, and you probably can't handle too much clothing. Let's just leave it like this for now... If you still feel uncomfortable, then we can cover our faces."

She didn't answer my question, but the hostility in Yu Hong's eyes seemed to lessen. After covering her face with a scrap of cloth, she rushed outside with me.

Teaming up with Yu Hong was a good experience. After all, having a sixth-level expert with enough strength to overwhelm all the orcs with me was a great guarantee.

Because of the aftereffects of the Hellish God of Lust, I had lost all my magic power for a moment and couldn't use magic. The Beast King Fist I had painstakingly cultivated had all been given to this hot girl in front of me. I could only fight these strong and ferocious orcs with my meager martial arts skills and divine weapons.

At this moment, the advantage of having a skilled fighter charging ahead became apparent. We first saw Violet unfurl her dragon wings, spewing fire and lightning, leaping and thrashing about, blocking a group of orcs charging towards us. It was fortunate she was there to hold them off; otherwise, Yu Hong and I might have been trampled to death by a horde of orcs at the crucial moment of casting our spells. "

You beast, this time, I really have to thank you."

Yu Hong soared past Violet, charging into the orc ranks, venting all the pent-up grievances and resentment she had suffered these past few days. The orcs she encountered, regardless of race, all lay on the ground howling in agony, their bones broken and unable to fight after a single exchange. To my bear brothers with whom I had shared a period of joy, I silently wished them good luck.

The true path of martial arts, powerful strength, is like a formidable weapon; it requires considerable training and familiarity to unleash its full potential. Yu Hong, whose strength had suddenly surged to the sixth level, revealed an unavoidable weakness the moment she began to fight.

If she could fully utilize her sixth-level power, the orcs should have been instantly shattered and killed by the force of her palm strikes, instead of lying on the ground groaning. This clearly showed that Yu Hong did not yet have complete control over her power, and her movements were not smooth enough.

Even so, the sixth-level power was enough for her to sweep through the orcs unimpeded, especially when a giant python as thick as a bucket suddenly coiled around her, attempting to strangle her. She grabbed the python, her ten fingers suddenly sharpening, and with a powerful twist, she ripped the python apart in a shower of blood.

This incredible skill had a deterrent effect on the orcs, letting them know that this ghostly, demonic girl was not a match for them. The usually arrogant and brave orcs began to retreat, only the mindless giant pythons still charging forward to block her.

What followed was a chaotic melee, as every beastman was an enemy of Yu Hong, leading to a series of fierce battles that descended into disarray.

It's worth noting that the first beastman summoned by Yalanja was the human-faced bird that the snake clan had painstakingly acquired. Although we know that as long as the beastman hosting the beastman is alive, it can be repeatedly summoned even after being killed, Yu Hong dealt a heavy blow upon seeing the human-faced bird, smashing the ferocious bird to pieces, head and neck.

Beyond the immediate shock of her attack, a second wave of impact began to emerge. After a period of fighting, despite her mask, some beastmen recognized her.

Not Yu Hong herself, but the aura surrounding her. Whenever Yu Hong channeled her energy into a move, a faint red glow appeared around her, flickering like flames. Especially when she flapped her wings and launched a swirling attack, the crimson flames trailing behind her seemed to transform into the fiery tail of a phoenix.

Perhaps the younger orcs hadn't witnessed it, but they had all heard their elders describe this scene—a sight that once filled the Southern Barbarian beast tribes with both fear and envy. The older orcs, however, recognized it immediately: it was the illusory light and fiery shadow that had surrounded the Phoenix Goddess when she descended from the sky, a sight that had never appeared in the Southern Barbarians since Phoenix Island vanished.

A major reason for the Feathered Clan's decline was the lack of leadership. The Phoenix bloodline, which held the greatest power of the Feathered Clan, was extinct, and the various beast demons and extraordinary skills were lost. The current clan leader, Katrina, was elected by the clan, lacking the divinely ordained destiny and unwavering resolve. A deer leading a flock of sheep, struggling to survive in an environment surrounded by tigers and wolves, the Feathered Clan never recovered.

But just when the Feathered Clan was on the verge of annihilation, the true descendant of the Phoenix bloodline reappeared, possessing extraordinary martial arts skills and even mastering the Beast King Fist, the ultimate martial art of all beasts. How could the orcs not be terrified?

This shocking fact had a very good effect, drawing all the enemies to Yu Hong's side, allowing Violet and me to catch our breath.

The three major beast tribes and the snake tribe were engaged in fierce battle, and when they faced Yu Hong, it became a chaotic melee. Unless one is an extreme battle maniac, anyone would lose all fighting spirit in such a messy quagmire. Soon, wherever Yu Hong went, the beastmen and snake tribes would voluntarily withdraw, no longer engaging her.

We gained an absolute advantage in the group battles against ordinary beastmen, but the real test was yet to come.

After knocking down and spitting blood from the ground, I don't know how many beastmen Yu Hong had defeated, she encountered Wu Zi, the young master of the tiger tribe, and engaged in fierce battle with him, who was using the Beast King Technique. At first, the situation remained deadlocked, but Yu Hong's martial arts aptitude was higher than I had expected. After a few rounds, she began to use the Beast King Fist energy within her body, and with a combination of "Vajra Ape Arm" and "Behemoth Waist-Breaking Strike," she severely injured Wu Zi, who was inferior to her in both strength and technique.

Then we encountered Yalanja of the Serpent Clan. Although she was the sister of a priest, she was clumsy in martial arts and didn't engage us directly, instead releasing two beast demons to attack.

Judging from her movements, she seemed to be planning to summon a third, but Yu Hong beat her to it. Her Beast King Fist unleashed its power, defeating one beast demon first, then using her Thunder Feather Star Arrow to kill the other, even piercing Yalanja's left arm in the process, forcing her to retreat in panic.

Having defeated two powerful enemies in an instant, Yu Hong, having vented her anger, seemed truly radiant. However, when a beastly roar approached rapidly from afar, our expressions changed.

A long, agonizing scream from a woman rang out. Since there were no women among the three beast clans attacking the mountain, it must have been the dying scream of a serpent woman. Then, two familiar voices followed.

"We killed the wrong person again! Where did that filthy snake bitch Natasha hide? Don't let her get away!"

"She can't escape. Lou Cheng is already surrounded by us. She was injured by our combined efforts. We're not afraid she'll fly to the sky!"

It was Bai Lan Xiong and Qi Lisi. No wonder we hadn't seen any experts from the Leopard Clan or Bear Clan. Judging from their words, the two of them had probably already injured Natasha.

For a cunning snake woman, probably no one would be willing to talk to her about martial ethics and the spirit of warriors, so the two clan leaders joined forces without hesitation, perhaps even using a sneak attack to quickly defeat her.

As long as Natasha was eliminated first, the snake clan's power here would be no longer a threat.

Their voices could be heard amidst the shouts of the large group of orcs behind them.

"Ha, she's a snake? Do you think she's one of those useless winged creatures? She doesn't even have wings, how can she fly?"

"Fly on the bed, boss! Didn't you always brag about having female slaves flying all over the bed?"

"Go fly with her!"

Bai Lanxiong's voice sounded somewhat fiery, probably because he didn't find having sex with snake women pleasurable. Just then, they walked around the corner of a ruin and came face to face with us.

It was hard to say who was more surprised. Bai Lanxiong recognized us and waved to stop the beastmen who were about to charge, but the atmosphere became tense, and a single shout could trigger a deadly battle.

Yu Hong clenched her fists, flames blazing around her, slowly swirling around her, clearly deeply agitated. Given the humiliation she and her people had suffered, she doubted she considered Bai Lan Xiong an ally. However, she had witnessed Bai Lan Xiong's strength firsthand, and even with her greatly improved martial arts, she might not be able to defeat this unassuming polar bear. Naturally, she hesitated.

Two tiger-men pointed at Yu Hong and spoke to Bai Lan Xiong and Qi Lisi, presumably recounting the defeat and injuries suffered by Wu Zi and Ya Lan Jia. Given the orcs' strong sense of honor, they would likely rush to avenge their friends immediately. However, since Bai Lan Xiong intended to help them, Yu Hong's strength should actually be an advantage. He should persuade his companions to focus their attack on the snake tribe, avoiding unnecessary trouble tonight and settling the score another day.

From Bai Lan Xiong's expression, I knew I wasn't wrong, and when he gave me a meaningful look, I immediately understood what to do.

"Don't be impulsive. Now is not the time for revenge. If you want to kill for revenge, I should be your first choice. Don't take it out on the orcs."

Using this slightly risky analogy, I successfully caught Yu Hong's attention. I whispered, "What did you want to do most before you regained your strength? Now that you've regained your strength, are you just going to stand here and vent your anger by fighting randomly? While they're fighting amongst themselves and their main force is concentrated here, leaving the camp vulnerable, you can fly down and launch a surprise attack. You'll have a great chance to liberate the Feather Clan, understand?"

Awakened by my words, Yu Hong's body trembled, and her killing intent lessened. I thought she would take immediate action, but instead, she turned her back to me and whispered,

"What will you do if you're left here alone?"

I was quite surprised by her question, but still replied, "Yalanja was injured by you, and Natasha is barely able to protect herself. I'm sticking with this dead leopard. I don't care about ordinary snakes."

The spell binding A Xue is troublesome, but with Violet's help, I believe we can resolve it. It was clawing at my calf, seemingly hoping I'd get Ah Xue out soon.

Yu Hong seemed hesitant, so I said, "What do you care about me? Your people are more important, aren't they? I'm your enemy. If I'm torn to pieces by the orcs, you should thank them."

Seeing the White Orchid Bear heading in another direction to avoid conflict, the orcs, though glaring at me with hatred, didn't rush at me, which reassured me.

"I won't say thank you… I'll personally settle the score for what you did to me, so you'd better keep your life."

Having regained his strength, he was indeed much more arrogant. I didn't reply. Yu Hong flapped his wings, about to soar into the sky, when suddenly, a deafening roar stopped everyone in their tracks.

"What happened?"

My nerves were on edge as I looked around, but besides Yu Hong, I saw the same bewildered expressions on the faces of the White Orchid Bear and Qilis.

And those deafening roars continued unabated. Amidst the sounds of collapsing and exploding earth and rocks, a strange, heavy thud reverberated through the air, shaking our very core. Not only did we feel the ground beneath our feet visibly tremble, but the continuous jolts left our heads buzzing with dizziness.

While ordinary beastmen were still confused about the situation, Yu Hong, Bai Lan Xiong, and I all paled. This sound was no ordinary noise; it was the sound of some enormous object moving. Whatever it was, it was certainly ominous for us.

The answer was quickly revealed: a colossal figure, several feet tall, appeared before us with earth-shaking strides.

It was a demonic statue constructed entirely of stone, with a dragon's head and a human body, a massive mouth with fangs, and five outstretched claws. Its body seemed to be covered in fine scales, and its back was covered in long, sharp spikes, tilting backward as if blown by a strong wind.

Compared to this colossal demonic statue, even the robust White Orchid Bear seemed as weak as an infant. With each step it took, cracking the ground and crushing buildings, the orcs' faces turned ashen. What sank us even further was the familiar human face embedded in the statue's forehead: Natasha.

"What the hell is this thing?"

"Why is it a snake and a statue? Has this snake-woman gone mad, thinking she's a god?"

The orcs pointed at the giant statue, shouting and shooting arrows at it. Some, to demonstrate their bravery, even charged forward, swinging spiked clubs and hammers, smashing the statue mercilessly. Seeing this, I nearly collapsed, realizing something.

"Stop! Come back!"

The White Orchid Bear's cry came too late. The giant statue was completely unaffected by the attacks, casually raising its foot and kicking down. With a long scream, several orcs were trampled into a bloody mess, a gruesome sight.

"Hahaha~~~" Atop the stone statue, Natasha's face emitted a shrill laugh. She opened her eyes, looking down at us with a demonic, devilish gaze. Even from a distance, the venom in her eyes sent chills down our spines.

"You vile snake bitch, don't think you can hide in a rock and not die! You killed my people, and you even forged this…this weapon! You're plotting something sinister! Today, we'll teach you a lesson on behalf of the Martial Venerable!"

Bai Lanxiong's roar was loud, and combined with the shouts of the orcs behind him, it was indeed quite imposing. They seemed to have launched a surprise attack using the pretext of the snake clan's sinister intentions, attacking the mountain first and then searching for evidence. Perhaps they had even prepared to frame someone. Now that they had found the evidence, they felt more justified before the Beast Venerable, and their tone immediately hardened.

"You lowly creatures! You don't even know you're about to die!"

Natasha's angry words contained a hint of panic. This is understandable. The Serpent Clan originally planned a surprise attack on the Three Beast Clans, but tonight they were preemptively attacked, forcing them to fight unprepared and sustain injuries. They were even forced to use a secret weapon that shouldn't have been revealed at this time. Their anger is understandable.

Looking down from their high vantage point, gazing at the carcasses of their people lying across the mountain pass, Natasha screamed. The giant stone statue stomped its foot, causing the earth to shake violently. Except for White Bear and Chiris, all the orcs were knocked to the ground.

"The blood debt for killing my people will be repaid today by you lowly beasts!"

The giant stone statue charged into the orc ranks with overwhelming force, its massive footprints instantly turning several orcs who couldn't escape into pieces. White Bear roared, leading his people to fight the giant stone statue, and a fierce battle erupted between two forces of vastly different sizes.

Seemingly harboring even greater animosity towards the snake race, and brimming with confidence in her sixth-level power, Yu Hong clenched her fists, preparing to soar into the sky to attack the giant stone statue and take Natasha's life first.

"Are you crazy?"

I grabbed Yu Hong's hand, preventing her from taking off, and said urgently, "Don't think that just because that face is on the top of the statue's forehead, you can easily win by flying up and hitting a vital point. Do you even know what that is? That's…"

"Just a magic stone statue, an old thing from hundreds of years ago, often seen in ancient tombs. No need to make such a fuss."

"You don't believe me? Use your Beast Demon to shoot that snake bitch with an arrow."

With a somewhat doubtful expression, Yu Hong summoned her Beast Demon, and the Thunder Feather Star Arrow transformed into a silver beam, shooting straight towards Natasha's face on the giant stone statue's forehead. The arrow whistled through the air, emitting a sharp sound. Just before it hit, the statue slightly tilted its massive body, and the silver arrow struck the statue's arm, exploding into a shower of sparks.

When the sparks disappeared, Yu Hong, seeing the stone statue completely unharmed, couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

"How could... it's completely unharmed?"

As the host's power increased, the beast demon's power also multiplied. Such a fierce arrow hadn't caused any damage at all; Yu Hong simply couldn't believe her eyes.

If it were a martial artist or sorcerer, to survive such an arrow would require at least level five strength; as for someone to withstand an arrow like this without a scratch, that would definitely be the peak of level six, or even possibly level seven strength.

"I noticed something was wrong when those orcs attacked... The magical stone golems used in the ancient tomb, although not this large, were basically made of stone. The orcs are very strong, and they were wielding heavy weapons. Shouldn't they have been able to crack the stone by hitting it? But those heavy weapons shattered completely when they hit it, and the statue didn't even leave a scratch or dust mark. Isn't that strange?"

It's like trying to cut a body-bound martial arts master with a knife. A knife that can easily cut through muscle will break and shatter when it hits flesh. This giant stone statue is no longer just a large, walking pile of rocks; it's a magical weapon with some kind of enormous energy operating within it.

The orcs, who rely on strength, are all laymen in magic, and Yu Hong only has a superficial understanding of beast magic. So only I, with my knowledge of magical weapons, noticed this and was the first to realize the truth. Hearing this, Yu Hong seemed to wake from a dream, and exclaimed in surprise, "You mean..."

"You think that thing was just Natasha throwing stones at herself in desperation and running around randomly? You're wrong. The Serpent Clan has been secretly preparing that thing for many years, to use it against the Lord of Ten Thousand Beasts... This thing destroyed the capital of Ishtar in one night two hundred years ago. Your master should have mentioned it to you, right?"

I said in a trembling voice, "That's Obelisk's Titan weapon!"
