【The Divine Eagle Empire】(Unabridged Volume 2, Chapter 4)

Chapter 4 It's Going to Rain

Just as Wu Tianjiao was deep in thought, Xiang'er approached and said sweetly, "Young Master! The bed is made, please

rest early!"

Wu Tianjiao looked up at Xiang'er, who seemed thoughtful, and thought to himself, "Perhaps Xiang'er knows something?"

He then asked, "Xiang'er, what happened with the Baili family's annulment of the engagement?"

Ah— Xiang'er trembled upon hearing this, her expression flustered, and she said fearfully, "This servant doesn't know,

Young Master, please don't ask me, this servant knows nothing..." Uh! Wu Tianjiao was quite taken aback, not expecting her

to react . His heart tightened, and he frowned, saying, "Xiang'er! Don't be afraid? What can't we, master and servant, say? As long as you

tell me, Young Master won't tell anyone else!"

Thump! Xiang'er knelt on the ground and kowtowed, saying, "Young Master! This servant really doesn't know anything. Please don't ask

me. Miss Feixue is in the manor. Why don't you go and ask her?"

Miss Feixue was naturally Baili Feixue. Seeing Xiang'er's frightened expression, Wu Tianjiao wondered,

"Why is she so afraid? Is there something strange about this?"

He quickly helped her up and saw that her body was trembling uncontrollably, her face was pale, and her eyes kept glancing towards the inner bedroom.

He suddenly realized, thinking, "That's it! With Wu Ling Shuang here, of course Xiang'er wouldn't dare to tell me the truth!"

Thinking of this, he asked, "Does Baili Feixue still live in the Prince's manor?"

Xiang'er nodded repeatedly and said, "For the past three years, Miss Feixue has been living in the Prince's manor. The Prince...

built a Feixue Pavilion for her, and Miss Feixue lives in the Feixue Pavilion!"

The Prince? Feixue Pavilion? Upon hearing this, Wu Tianjiao's heart skipped a beat, and suspicion arose within him. He thought, "

What ? Why would Father build the Flying Snow Pavilion for Baili Feixue? Could it be..." Thinking this,

he shuddered and dared not think any further. He stood up, pulled Xiang'er into her room, closed the door,

and whispered "Xiang'er! Tell me, what exactly is going on? Why would Father build a pavilion for Baili Feixue?"

"Young Master! This servant doesn't know... how to tell you, Young Master, you really shouldn't have come back!"

Xiang'er said in a panic, her face extremely pale, her voice trembling slightly, utterly terrified.

"Xiang'er doesn't want me to come back either!"

Wu Tianjiao's heart trembled, his brows furrowed, and he said in a deep voice, "Xiang'er! Tell me quickly, what exactly happened?

Say whatever you want to say, and I won't blame you if you say something wrong!"

"Young master, I really don't know anything. I only know that Baili Changkong wanted to take Miss Feixue back to

the Baili family, but the prince disagreed and fought with Baili Changkong, injuring him!"

Xiang'er said tremblingly.

"What?"

Wu Tianjiao was startled and whispered, "Baili Feixue stayed in the Wu family with Baili Changkong's consent, so

why bring her back? Why didn't the Prince agree? What's the secret behind this? Xiang'er,

tell me everything you know!"

Xiang'er opened the door and peeked out. Seeing that Wu Ling Shuang's door was closed, she quickly closed it again,

looking both nervous and frightened. She pulled Wu Tianjiao to sit on the bed and whispered, "Young Master, I only

heard some rumors circulating in the manor about the Prince and Miss Feixue, so I dared not speak carelessly,

for fear of losing my life!"

Hearing the words "the Prince and Miss Feixue," Wu Tianjiao's heart sank, and he frowned deeply. Xiang'er

... Since that's the case, there must be a reason; it can't be baseless. He asked, "What did you hear?

Tell me, the young master won't blame you!"

Xiang'er composed herself and whispered, "I heard people in the manor whispering that the prince and

Miss Feixue are very close. Miss Feixue often seeks out the prince to ask him for martial arts instruction, and the prince never

refuses . This makes the princess very unhappy, and because of this, the prince and princess often quarrel over Miss Feixue,

to the point that they no longer live together!"

Wu Tianjiao grew increasingly disheartened as he listened, his face darkening. He frowned and said, "Father doesn't

live , could it be that he lives with Baili Feixue?"

Xiang'er nodded, remaining silent.

"So, Father and Baili Feixue… they have an affair, is all of this true?"

Wu Tianjiao said ominously.

"I only heard about it, I didn't see it with my own eyes... I dare not speak recklessly!"

Xiang'er said in a panic.

"They live together, how could it be false!"

Wu Tianjiao roared, stood up abruptly, stomped his feet, and cursed loudly: "Baili Feixue, that bitch,

stinking whore, slut, rotten slut, son of a bitch, son of a bitch..." Xiang'er was shocked and quickly stood up and pulled him, saying:

"Young master! Don't be so loud, if the prince hears, it will be terrible, we will all be killed!" "

What are you afraid of? They dare to do such illicit and incestuous things, and they won't even let people curse them!"

Wu Tianjiao spat fiercely and cursed: "Adulterous couple, dog couple, scum, dregs, human scum, vulgar

and shameless..." He didn't know where all the curses came from, but

he cursed with everything he could think of, like a shrew cursing in the street, so filthy that it completely ruined his handsome image and made him look out of place.

"Young Master! Please stop cursing! Second Miss heard it, it'll be terrible!"

Xiang'er pleaded, trembling all over, her face pale, almost crying with fear.

Wu Tianjiao had been cursing wildly, and after venting his anger a little, he heard Xiang'er's words and his mind gradually calmed

down . He went over and opened the door, peering into Wu Ling Shuang's bedroom. He saw that the door was still closed, quiet and still

. He couldn't help but snort coldly, closed the door, and muttered to himself, "I've done such a shameful

thing, I suppose my daughter should feel ashamed too. Even if she heard it, she wouldn't dare to come and argue with me."

This was a bit incoherent and contradictory, with "I" and "I" repeatedly, making it unclear

who he was referring to.

After muttering to himself for a while, Wu Tianjiao calmed down and thought about it, then found it amusing and couldn't help but burst out

laughing. Xiang'er thought he was furious and burst into tears, sobbing, "Young Master! Please don't

upset yourself. It's my fault, I shouldn't have told you all this!"

Wu Tianjiao shook his head and laughed, "Xiang'er, why are you crying? I'm not angry at all. I'm fine, and I even

find it quite fun!"

Happy? Fun? Xiang'er was stunned. What was this all about? Her father-in-law had stolen her son's wife, and

her son thought it was fun and funny? What kind of nonsense was this? She had no idea what Wu Tianjiao was thinking. Although Wu Tianjiao

despised her father, Wu Wudi, for committing incestuous acts that violated ethics and morality, she immediately thought of her own

illicit relationships with her aunt, Wu Saiying, and her sister, Wu Hongshuang. She found those

equally , far more vile. Besides, Baili Feixue was only his nominal fiancée; they

had no real relationship. He had so many women; why should he care about a mere Baili Feixue? Thinking

this way , she felt much more at ease. There were so many women in the world, a vast forest; why hang herself on one tree?

If it's going to rain, it'll rain; if her mother wants to remarry, she'll remarry. Let her be.

After thinking for a while, Wu Tianjiao vaguely understood why Wu Ling Shuang and Xiang'er didn't want him to return.

Indeed, his fiancée and father were having an affair; what could a son do besides feel awkward?

Fight his father? Could he win? He realized that Baili Changkong, knowing about his daughter's relationship with Wu Wudi, felt disgusted and

used the excuse of breaking off the engagement to bring his daughter home, which led to Wu Wudi's obstruction and the resulting fight.

The more Wu Tianjiao thought about it, the more sense it made, a feeling of sudden enlightenment washing over him. Remembering the day he was engaged to Baili Feixue, when

she personally handed him the "Sword of Deep Affection," a thought stirred within him. He asked Xiang'er, "Xiang'er!

Is the Sword of Deep Affection that Baili Feixue gave me still there?"

"Yes! That sword, along with its case, has always been in the wardrobe; no one has touched it!"

Xiang'er replied.

Hearing this, Wu Tianjiao left the room and went to the door of the inner bedroom, knocking repeatedly. He knocked three times on

the door and called out, "Sister Ling Shuang! Open the door!"

"What? It's the middle of the night, can't you let people sleep?!"

Wu Ling Shuang's scolding voice came from the bedroom. Her tone was clearly angry and

displeased.

"Sister Ling Shuang, please open the door, I'm just here to get something!"

Wu Tianjiao said calmly, his tone gentle and gentlemanly.

"What time is it? What do you need? Come back in the morning!"

Wu Ling Shuang said angrily.

"I want to get it now, it'll only take a little while, I'll be right back!"

Wu Tianjiao said.

"You bastard!"

Wu Ling Shuang's scolding rang out from inside the room, followed by a rustling sound and light, quick footsteps

. A moment later, thud—the door opened from the inside, revealing Wu Ling Shuang with a face full of anger, wearing only an

outer robe . She angrily said, "You've disturbed everyone's peace since you arrived! Leave Chonghua Palace tomorrow and find

somewhere else to stay!"

Wu Tian Jiao smiled but didn't reply. He walked into the room, went to the carved wardrobe against the west wall,

opened the door, took out a long box from the bottom shelf, and left the bedroom. He turned back to Wu

Ling Shuang with a smile and said, "Sister Ling Shuang! You can sleep now! I won't bother you anymore!"

His slight smile was as charming and alluring as a woman's, captivating and enchanting, a beauty that transcended gender,

breathtakingly alluring . Her eyes were as clear as crystals submerged in water, with slightly upturned corners.

The alluring , deep pupils and captivating eye shape blended together in a wondrous way, creating an extremely beautiful charm. Her thin, pale lips

were incredibly sexy, making one want to take a bite. Even though Wu Ling Shuang was a nun, she

was momentarily stunned, her heart pounding, her face slightly flushed, and a strange feeling spreading through her body. She quickly

realized something was wrong and calmed herself down, blaming herself, "What's wrong with me?"

Seeing the long box that Wu Tian Jiao was holding, she blurted out, "What's that?"

"A sword!"

Wu Tian Jiao replied casually, placing the box on the coffee table and opening the lid. Curious, Wu Ling Shuang followed.

The box was open, revealing an ancient, mottled sword, strangely shaped and remarkably long.

Upon closer , her expression changed

, and she exclaimed coldly, "The Sword of Deep Affection!" Wu Tian Jiao sneered, "What Sword of Deep Affection? It should be the Sword of Heartless Love!"

With that, he picked up the sheathed sword with his left hand, gripped the hilt with his right, and drew it. Instantly, a purple

light illuminated the hall, so bright that Wu Ling Shuang could barely open her eyes. She instinctively covered

her eyes with her sleeve, blurting out, "What a fine sword!"

Wu Tian Jiao stared at the dazzling blade, his pupils contracting, his eyes gleaming, a hint of murderous

intent After a moment, he scoffed, "What Sword of Deep Affection? What 'love as heavy as a mountain'? Bullshit!"

With that, he sheathed the sword, put it back in the box, closed the lid, and carried it to a room on the right side of the hall, slamming

the door shut in silence.

"Sigh—" Wu Ling Shuang sighed softly upon seeing this, her brows furrowed, and she murmured resentfully, "

Even tigers do n't eat their cubs, Father! You wouldn't kill your own son for a woman, would you?"

That night, Wu Tianjiao suffered from insomnia for the first time, tossing and turning in bed, his mind filled with countless thoughts. He wondered

what would happen after returning to the Wu family, and how his father would treat him. He didn't sleep a wink all night, and finally, as dawn broke, without even washing up,

he carried the long box containing the Chongqing Sword and, led by his maid Xiang'er, headed straight for Feixue Tower.

The snow had stopped, and Xiang'er led Wu Tianjiao through layers of courtyards and numerous corridors, finally arriving at a garden.

The garden wasn't large, but it was exquisitely and ingeniously arranged. An artificial river encircled the entire garden, with several

small wooden bridges spanning it, half-hidden among the bushes on both banks. The river, excavated according to the terrain,

flows swiftly from high to low. Even in the early morning, the murmuring of the water can be heard. Several unattended pleasure boats lie

adrift at their mooring points, bobbing up and down with the current. The stream converges into a small artificial lake, its surface frozen into a thick layer

of ice, like a large mirror, due to the cold weather.

Wu Tianjiao followed Xiang'er through the secluded paths and corridors flanked by sparse branches, occasionally crossing

wooden bridges . After a series of detours, Xiang'er stopped before a grove of trees laden with snow.

A corner of a small white building peeked out from within the grove; this carved and jade-adorned stone building would be difficult to spot without close inspection. Xiang'er pointed to

a row of jade steps in the grove and said, "Young Master! This is Feixue Tower. This is as far as I can take you!"

Wu Tianjiao nodded, telling Xiang'er to go back first. He walked into the grove, stood on the jade steps, and surveyed the scene before him.

This small white building... He had once lived in the Ziqi Donglai Building, built by the Dong family using Da Luo stone, in Dongjiabao.

He had been awestruck by its extravagance then. Now, returning to the Jinyang Prince's Mansion and seeing this independent Feixue Building,

he was stunned, standing there speechless for a long time.

Feixue Building, though much smaller than the Dong family's Ziqi Donglai Building, was entirely

constructed of moon-white jade. Reflected in the snow, it was flawlessly white, like a crystal palace. Moon-white jade was

dozens of times more expensive than Da Luo stone. Good heavens, to build such a small building with so much moon-white jade,

the cost of Feixue Building must have been many times greater than that of the Dong family's Ziqi Donglai Building.
