Tianlong's Void Bamboo Playing with Flowers

The first episode features a real and a fake monk copying scriptures.

"Xu Zhu... Xu Zhu... Xu Zhu!" Ye Tian was dreaming of being seduced and teased by several hot beauties .

The intoxicating feeling was evident in the drool dripping onto his pillow. But just as things were about to get to the crucial

moment, his sweet dream was suddenly shattered by a strange, powerful, booming voice. He

watched the figures of the beauties fade away, rolled over, and muttered, "Who is it?

What They're disturbing my sweet dreams!" He refused to get out of bed, let alone open his eyes.

As a mediocre actor, being chosen as the lead in "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" was incredibly

lucky , but playing the foolish monk Xu Zhu was incredibly unlucky. Although the character later had many adventures

and even won the heart of a beauty, Ye Tian absolutely refused because of his silly appearance. Unfortunately, the director's

words , "Only you look like him; others don't have that kind of look!" extinguished his hopes. "Fine, so you're saying I

look stupid? But I'm not stupid!" Ye Tian finally joined the film crew, feeling utterly dejected. He forgot that

his girlfriend had dumped him because she thought he wasn't handsome enough and looked a bit silly.

He spent the whole morning filming with the crew, exhausted. With another scene to film that evening, he was too

lazy to change his costume. He quickly ate lunch, found a random room for filming, and, ignoring

how hard the wooden bed was, lay down to sleep. Unfortunately, his sweet dream was cut short when he was woken up.

Ye Tian lingered in bed for a little while longer, but then noticed something was wrong. It seemed like a strong,

rhythmic presence was sweeping across his head. He sat up, opened his eyes, and

nearly jumped in fright.

There stood a fat, round-faced monk staring at him with wide, bull-like eyes. His monk's robes, with

traces of washing, were a bluish-white. The monk stood with his hands clasped in prayer, looking quite solemn, which

suited the nine ordination scars on his head rather well. However, Ye Tian, confident in his memory, racked his brains but couldn't

connect the face to anyone in the film crew.

"Who are you?" Ye Tian rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things. He wondered when the crew had found

someone so strikingly similar to a monk for a minor role. "Look at him, he's almost as good as me." *Pah, pah, pah, what am I

saying ?*

No sooner had he finished speaking than the monk's eyes snapped open, seemingly annoyed. He spread his arms, his right hand suddenly reaching

forward to strike Ye Tian's head, his voice still booming: "Xu Zhu, you fool, you've broken the

precept against anger again! You even dare to pretend you don't recognize your master!"

Ye Tian, seeing he was about to be struck, quickly turned his head to dodge. But the hand seemed to know he was going to dodge,

extending with a strange trajectory and striking Ye Tian's bald head heavily with a loud thud. Ye Tian winced in pain

, his mind filled with confusion over the monk's words. Master? Ah, right, he meant he was my master.

But when did I suddenly have a master? Uh, Xu Zhu in *Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils* did have a master

named Hui Lun.

Ye Tian reached up and touched the spot on his head where he had been hit, feeling a slight bulge. He was furious, not even

noticing the other changes on his head. He angrily asked, "Hui Lun, why did you hit me? Don't think you

can hit me just because you're playing my master. If you upset me and affect my performance, and I

don't perform well and get scolded by the director, you'll have to take the blame!" Just as he finished speaking, Ye Tian suddenly paused, realizing

there weren't any scenes featuring Master Xu Zhu today. Wasn't Xu Zhu's meeting with his master supposed to be before the Shaolin Assembly

? He had read the entire original novel over ten times to thoroughly understand the plot; he knew the story inside and out

.

Huilun, enraged by his disrespectful words, reached out and gave him another

resounding : "Hmph, well, Xuzhu, you're usually so honest and unassuming, but today you

've changed your tune, showing no respect for your elders, daring to call me by my given name! Hmph, I'll let that slide for now

. Get up and do your morning prayers! You still have to go to the Sutra Repository to copy scriptures for me

later. Abbot Uncle said you all must finish copying the scriptures you didn't finish yesterday. If you don't finish,..." " Keep copying tomorrow,

no need to learn the Wei Tuo Palm technique."

Hui Lun finished speaking, turned and walked out of the meditation room, muttering to himself as he went, "'Director,' what is this?

Strange strange, what's wrong with this kid's head? Has he gone mad? He was fine yesterday

, how come he's like this today! Sigh, never mind him, this kid has always been silly,

it's normal for him to go mad. Even if the abbot knows, he can't blame me. Amitabha, forgive me, forgive me!" Thinking

this , he gradually walked away.

Ye Tian touched his bald head, wondering why his head was so smooth, and wondered

: Who the hell is this? A lunatic? He must have gotten so caught up in filming that he went crazy. Suddenly, he touched

the few ordination scars on his head, feeling strange. He touched them several times before realizing that these ordination scars were

just made with ink, not real ones. Why do they feel almost real now, with raised and

shaped features? It's really strange.

He looked down at his monk's robe and noticed it was different from his usual costume. The color

was similar , and the style was almost identical, but this one looked like it had been washed countless times, just

like Hui Lun's robe—a pale blue with a white tinge. What was going on? Could I really be Xu Zhu? Ye Tian

was dumbfounded, looking around.

As he surveyed this unfamiliar environment, wondering where he was and what was happening, he

heard a slightly shrill voice calling him from outside the courtyard: "Xu Zhu! Have you finished your morning prayers? We should go

eat; we still need to copy scriptures in the Sutra Repository later!" Just then, the bell rang, signaling

it was time for breakfast at Shaolin Temple.

Confused, Ye Tian got out of bed, hastily put on his cloth shoes, and without even folding his blanket,

rushed out the door. A young monk, about his height but thin and with a pointed, monkey-like face,

also entered the courtyard.

The monk's Dharma name was Xu Jia, and he was Xu Zhu's junior brother, also a disciple of Hui Lun. He was a smooth and cunning man. Seeing that Xu Zhu

was honest, he often hung out with Xu Zhu, mainly to take advantage of him, but he was still quite nice to Xu Zhu.

Others who saw him thought he was the senior disciple. Seeing Ye Tian scratch his bald head, look around, and walk out, Xu Jia

smiled and said, "Come on, Xu Zhu, let's go have breakfast. I've been chopping firewood all morning, I'm starving."

He turned and left.

Ye Tian, still confused and not quite understanding his situation, followed Xu Jia

out .

Along the way, they passed many disciples of similar age, almost all of the "Xu" generation. These

fellow disciples greeted them. A few who were clearly familiar with them

laughed when they saw Xu Jia: "Xu Jia, you've finished chopping firewood? What are you being punished for today?" The group chatted and

laughed as they slowly made their way to the dining hall.

Ye Tian stared at the completely different architecture—the yellow and blue tiles, the wooden and stone structure, and

the expressions on the monks' faces—speechless with shock. He finally realized that he was no longer in

the film studio he had been in, but had arrived at what appeared to be the real Shaolin Temple. It was even possible that he had become Xu Zhu from "

Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils ."

Yes, Xu Zhu!

Thinking this, Ye Tian couldn't help but feel a little panicked. Could this be what they called time travel? Was he really

Xu Zhu , the one who gained seventy years of internal energy for nothing and married a princess of Western Xia? Then he thought, could he be

dreaming, dreaming that he had become Xu Zhu, and that he hadn't yet woken up from the dream

? He walked on in a daze, not even noticing his fellow disciples greeting him. His fellow disciples, seeing this, simply thought their

silly senior brother (or junior brother) was daydreaming again and didn't think much of it.

When Ye Tian, like a walking corpse, followed everyone into the dining hall and sat at an enormous table,

looking at the food Xu Zhu had prepared for him, eating the bland stir-fried vegetables and white rice, Ye Tian gradually believed that

he wasn't dreaming, but really had become Xu Zhu!

When Ye Tian had eaten about half of his meal, he put down his bowl. He couldn't eat such bland vegetarian food, and

his doubts remained unresolved, so he asked, "Xu Jia, you said we're going to copy scriptures later, but what scriptures?"

He didn't realize his voice was a bit loud, and his fellow disciples around him stared at him in surprise, thinking: "

Xu Zhu's gotten bold today, daring to speak so loudly while eating. Isn't he afraid of the senior disciples in the Discipline Hall?

" Xu Jia, however, immediately realized his mistake, quickly putting down his bowl and reaching out to cover Ye Tian's mouth: "You brat, just

eat , why are you so loud? If the senior disciples in the Discipline Hall catch you, you'll be in big trouble!

Eat first, we'll talk later."

Ye Tian then realized his mistake. He stared blankly for a while, trying to recall

the rules of Shaolin Temple, when suddenly he remembered something unfamiliar and wanted to understand it, so he sat there motionless,

lost in thought. It wasn't until Xu Jia finished his breakfast and reached out to touch him that he snapped out of his daze. During that moment of absentmindedness, he

understood many things, almost all related to his past experiences at Shaolin Temple—those were Xu Zhu

's memories. Before he could figure out why he had such memories in his mind, Xu Jia had already

pulled him outside.

"Come on, Xu Zhu, you're being silly again! Didn't you ask me what scripture you wanted to copy? You

haven't finished copying the *Lankavatara Sutra* from yesterday. You have to finish it today! Do you want to copy something else?" He was used

to Xu Zhu's occasional dazes and didn't mind, pulling him towards

the scripture pavilion. He wanted to finish copying it quickly so he could spar with his fellow disciples in the afternoon.

*Lankavatara Sutra*? Ye Tian felt the name seemed familiar and paused for a moment.

The second time, without the Nine Yang Manual, he sought the *Lankavatara Sutra*, the Yi Jin Jing! Ye Tian vaguely remembered that in *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber*, the monk Jueyuan unknowingly

learned the Nine Yang Divine Skill, which he mastered unintentionally while reciting the *Lankavatara Sutra* daily. Later in the story, it was mentioned that the incantation for the Nine Yang Divine Skill was hidden between the lines of the *Lankavatara Sutra*, making it difficult to discover normally. Now, his soul had traveled through time and space, attaching itself to Xu Zhu's body, becoming Xu Zhu. Although he didn't know where the original Xu Zhu's soul had gone, there was no doubt that he was now Xu Zhu. Ye Tian thought to himself. "I am Xu Zhu, I can learn martial arts, so naturally I can learn the Nine Yang Divine Skill too!" Thinking of Zhang Wuji in *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber*, who, after learning the Nine Yang Divine Skill, looked down upon all the heroes of the martial world with such pride , Ye Tian's heart burned with excitement. Zhang Wuji, having learned this divine skill, had both beautiful women and immense power. If he learned this skill, with his extra thousand years of knowledge, he would surely be able to develop and expand this divine skill, perhaps even evolving it into other advanced techniques. In that case, seducing Wang, Mu, Zhong, and even Xu Zhu's original wife, the Princess of Xixia, would be incredibly easy. These are all beauties; how could he let them go? In his "past life," Ye Tian had been heartbroken over love, but in his "present life," he had long forgotten those wives. Thinking this, Ye Tian's mind began to wander. There were several charming mature women in *Tianlong*, especially Dao Baifeng and Madam Wang. Should he take them? Thinking of Madam Wang's magnificent bosom in the CCTV version of * Tianlong *, Xu Zhu felt a certain part of him begin to throb. Thinking this, Ye Tian couldn't help but chuckle foolishly, even drooling. Fortunately, there weren't many . Shaolin Temple has strict rules, and everyone has their own duties. Unless they were copying scriptures, they were n't allowed wander around. Otherwise, if others, especially their familiar fellow disciples of the "Xu" generation, saw Xu Zhu in this state, he would definitely become a laughingstock. If this reached their master's ears, he would undoubtedly be punished in the disciplinary hall for "disgracing the Shaolin tradition. " However, after indulging in fantasies, Ye Tian finally realized something very important: he was still a monk, which was terrible. Sigh, which patriarch stipulated that monks couldn't marry? Damn it, perhaps the patriarch who set this rule was abandoned and was so depressed that he set this rule. Ye Tian could . Amitabha, Buddha forgive this brat's nonsense. Sigh, it seems I can only find an opportunity to acknowledge Xuan Ci as my father and have him return to secular life; otherwise, it won't be convenient to spend my days with so many girls. Also, if you manage to get Wang MM, her mother, Madam Wang, will be in a very difficult situation. This beauty...

It was truly hard to part with!

Ye Tian finally realized his shameful state, feeling deeply ashamed. He quickly wiped his drool, lowered his head, and dared not

look . He quickened his pace, following Xu Jia towards the Sutra Repository. After

about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the two passed through many corridors, bypassing the main hall, the Discipline Hall, and the Bodhidharma Hall, arriving

at the Sutra Repository.

Xu Jia greeted the two guarding Arhats and led Ye Tian into this important part of Shaolin Temple—

the Sutra Repository. The impatient Ye Tian didn't notice that some distance away on one side of the Sutra Repository, a gray figure

was slowly sweeping the floor.

Seeing the rows of neatly arranged, spotless scriptures on the bookshelves, Ye Tian's heart pounded

. He couldn't help but head towards the Lankavatara Sutra, but before he could take a step, Xu Jia

grabbed him, asking curiously, "What are you doing?"

Ye Tian blankly replied, "Looking for the Lankavatara Sutra?"

Xu Jia rolled his eyes at him, reached out and touched his forehead, muttering, "No fever?"

He pulled Ye Tian towards a side room, saying, "You're confused, aren't you? You

just copied the sutra here yesterday, and you've already forgotten? You can't just touch the sutras on that shelf. If

your senior brothers and uncles find out, they'll punish you..." "Go fetch water, chop wood, and tend the vegetable garden. You'll be in for a rough time. Here,

this is the Lankavatara Sutra you're going to copy today. Look carefully, you copied about half of

it . Hurry up today, and you'll finish. Now, sit down and copy it slowly. Just put it here when you're done.

Your senior brothers will come and collect it. I don't care about you anymore. I have more than you—a whole Diamond Sutra!

Isn't going to kill me?" After saying this, Xu Jia ignored the stunned Ye Tian and sat down in his seat from yesterday.

He picked up his brush and began copying the sutra. Soon, he became focused and ignored Ye Tian beside him.

Ye Tian sat down, spread out the paper, and took the Lankavatara Sutra. With trembling excitement, he

kept stroking the smooth cover. Looking at the three large, dark characters in regular script: Lankavatara Sutra, he was so excited that

he didn't know what to do.

After a long while, Ye Tian calmed the turmoil in his heart. Forcing himself to suppress his excitement, he

solemnly shouting in his heart, "Nine Yang Divine Skill, here I come!"

Upon opening the book, he saw it filled with densely packed, tiny characters, almost incomprehensible.

Ye Tian remembered that the Nine Yang Divine Skill's incantation was hidden between the lines of the scripture, so he ignored the authentic text and

focused intently on searching.

Unfortunately, reality seemed cruel.

On the first page, Ye Tian squinted for a long time, his eyes blurring, but he didn't see a single word

or incantation. He thought, "Could it not be on the first page?" So he turned to the second page, searched for a long time, but found nothing; he turned to

the third page, searched for a long time, but found nothing; the fourth page, nothing; the fifth page, the sixth page, the seventh page… until

Ye Tian hastily flipped through the book, he still hadn't found a single word hidden between the lines.

He placed the book on the table, staring blankly at it, his heart sinking. No, how could it not be there?

It clearly says it's in the Lankavatara Sutra, and it's clearly stated in *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber*.

Undeterred, he flipped through the pages again, starting from the back and working his way forward, but still nothing. His

disappointment .

Ye Tian sat there blankly, thinking for a long while, when suddenly a possibility occurred to him.

He immediately flipped to the middle page near the beginning, extended his index finger, and smeared some saliva on it. Seeing that the saliva hadn't

completely soaked the page, he spat again and smeared more saliva.

When , Ye Tian stared wide-eyed at that spot.

Nothing, still nothing?

Ye Tian truly began to despair. Nothing, nothing! He muttered absentmindedly,

even disturbing Xu Jia, who was intently copying the text. Xu Jia put down his brush and walked over. Seeing Ye Tian

muttering to himself like a madman, he was startled. Seeing

the water stain on the Lankavatara Sutra, which seemed to have soaked through the pages, he couldn't help but scold, "Xu Zhu, how

dare you spit on a scripture! Aren't you afraid of damaging it? You should know that this scripture was painstakingly translated by the previous

abbot , and you dare… do you want to die?" With that, Xu Jia

angrily smacked Ye Tian's bald head, snapping him out of his daze.

Translate? Ye Tian jumped up, almost startling Xu Jia, thinking he was going to retaliate for his earlier

bluff. Although Uncle Huiming, who guarded the scripture pavilion, had told them about the scripture's importance,

spitting on it was nothing; it wouldn't damage anything, at most he'd get a scolding.

Xu Jia was merely driven by vanity, trying to take advantage of the situation.

He suddenly remembered that the *Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber* explained that the

*Lankavatara Sutra*, the one Jueyuan used to learn the Nine Yang Divine Skill, was in Sanskrit, not Chinese, and the Nine Yang Divine Skill was hidden there. He snapped to attention

and grabbed Xu Jia's collar, urgently asking, "Xu Jia, where is the original *Lankavatara Sutra*?"

Xu Jia, startled by the sudden grab,

quickly replied without thinking, "Isn't it right here?" Ye Tian immediately put him down and began frantically searching,

scattering scriptures and copying papers all over the floor, but still couldn't find the Sanskrit *Lankavatara Sutra*. He angrily

grabbed Xu Jia, who was staring blankly at him, still confused. Xu Jia, realizing the situation, exclaimed, "No, where is it? No,

where ?" He quickly pulled Ye Tian away, panting, and said, "Cough cough, you

're looking for the Sanskrit version of the *Lankavatara Sutra*. It's not here. Go ask Uncle Huiming if he knows anything about it."

Ye Tian glared at him angrily, strode out the door, and stormed off, leaving behind

the words , "Why didn't you say so earlier!" Xu Jia, furious, could only manage a single word, "I…", before sighing,

"Damn it, this kid's gone mad again!" He bent down to pick up the scattered scriptures and papers.

Following his memory, Ye Tian found Huiming's side room. Not daring to be impulsive, he bowed and explained his purpose

. Huiming noticed the slight sweat on his forehead and his panting, and felt a little strange, but said nothing.

After thinking for a moment, he shook his head and asked, "Xu Zhu, what do you need that Sanskrit *Lankavatara Sutra* for?"

Ye Tian had already prepared an excuse: "I want to learn Sanskrit, so I found this to study alongside the translated version

." Huiming didn't suspect anything, nodded, and admired Xu Zhu's spirit, but still shook his head

and said, "It's a pity. I remember when I was organizing the scriptures, I specifically asked the abbot. The abbot said that

after the Sanskrit version of the Lankavatara Sutra was translated, the senior master from India who did the translation said he

wanted to take it back to study it, so he took it back to India. He said he would return it, but he didn't say when, and

he hasn't. At that time, the temple only had that one copy, so there is no other Sanskrit Lankavatara Sutra in the library.

But the temple has other scriptures, such as the Yi Jin Jing and the Lotus Sutra, which are also in Sanskrit, so

you can still learn Sanskrit, right?..."

He took it back! Gone! It was like a bolt from the blue, hitting Ye Tian's head hard, and he was completely

dumbfounded. But upon hearing what Uncle Huiming said next, he was overjoyed. He slapped his forehead. "Oh right,

how could I forget about the Yi Jin Jing?"

he exclaimed. He asked excitedly, "Uncle Huiming, may I... may I borrow the Yi Jin Jing to take a look?"
