Lustful Entanglement 01~09

This post was last edited by ptc077 on 2016-4-25 08:51.
Chapter 1:
The room is dark and the twilight is hard to bear; the walls are high and spring is nowhere to be seen.
Days and months slip by, time flies. Today is my release day. September 4th, around 10 a.m., I
said goodbye to my cellmates with whom I had lived for nearly three years. Many of them were
happy , but a few were very reluctant
to part, including "Old Blowhead." Several cellmates I was close to also slipped messages and contact numbers meant for their families into my pocket, urging me
to deliver them after I got out.
Of course, I left my contact information and promised to write to them with my updated contact details after my release,
so they could contact me if they needed any help outside.
After saying goodbye to my reluctant cellmates, I followed Warden Liu to complete the release procedures, walking through the familiar corridor
with mixed feelings. There was a mix of longing and excitement for the impending freedom, and uncertainty about the future ahead. Of course, there was also a touch of reluctance to
part with my good buddies in prison.
Some say that classmates, comrades-in-arms, and colleagues are the best relationships one can have in a lifetime, but I would
add : prison buddies. How could we not
develop feelings for each other after eating, living, and working together for several years? Of course, my relationship with "Old Blowhead," who was both a mentor and a friend, is a different story.
I carefully put away my release certificate, checked the items the prison had kept from my arrival, signed for them,
and then changed out of my prison uniform into a set of seasonal clothes my parents had sent me. Only then did I follow Warden Liu through
several gates. He saw me out of the prison gate, patting my shoulder earnestly as he left, saying, "Meng
Chengbao, I hope I never see you here again. Whatever happens after you get out, stay strong and never
act impulsively or break the law." With that, he turned and walked back to the prison area without looking back, slamming the heavy
iron prison gate shut.
Watching his resolute figure disappear behind the gate, I remained silent. Of course, I understood his meaning; this
special farewell occasion was not suitable for saying "goodbye."
"Ah, finally free!" I turned around and shouted, raising my arms. I had waited
nearly . Not only was there no freedom in prison, but I was also bullied and abused by the prison guards when I first arrived. What's more, the food
was terribly bad; every day I ate bland soybean and winter melon soup with cabbage—it was so tasteless it made my mouth water. Anyone who didn't want to
get out would be crazy.
The late summer sun shone warmly on me, and wisps of clouds floated in the azure sky. Some were clustered together,
like a large clump of cotton; others were layered, like towering white mountains. All around was lush greenery;
the grass swayed freely in the wind, and the camphor trees grew thick and verdant.
I stood at the gate of Pingba Prison in Guizhou, carrying my luggage, looking out at the vast expanse without seeing a single person.
A . Although I had expected no one to come to pick me up, the scene still made me feel somewhat
melancholic. My parents and relatives were thousands of miles away in Shandong, too far from Guiyang. And I had repeatedly
told them not to come to pick me up.
As for my newlywed wife, Dandan, she had already hired a lawyer a year ago to come and sign the divorce
papers with me. We haven't been in contact for a long time, and it's impossible for her to come pick me up.
Dandan and I had always had a good relationship. When I first went to prison, she would visit me every few days, but gradually
the visits became less and less frequent, until finally she filed for divorce. Although I don't know exactly what happened,
I can understand her. After all, it's not easy for a woman to live in society; she needs to find a shoulder to lean on. I'm
just curious who her new partner will be. Will it be someone I know?
Suddenly, a warm breeze blew, stirring up dust and grass clippings. After a short rest, I looked up at the sky again. The clouds gradually
thickened and their color deepened, no longer the lovely white. The earth, which had just been bathed in sunshine, was quickly
shrouded in a layer of gloom. Looking at the overcast sky, my mood became even heavier. Pingba Prison is located near Pingba County, which is situated in the heart of Guizhou Province, known as the
"belly of Guizhou, throat of Yunnan , and lips and teeth of Sichuan and Guangdong." It is 48 kilometers northeast of Guiyang, the provincial capital. Carrying my luggage and backpack, I walked along the narrow road connecting Pingba Prison to the main road of the Guihuang Highway, about a kilometer away, to wait for the bus to Guiyang that would pass through here around noon. I hadn't yet decided whether to go back to my hometown in Shandong or return to the company where I had worked for over three years. A dozen minutes later, I arrived at the main road of the Guihuang Highway and found the bus stop. Because of its remote location , few villagers from the surrounding area usually come here to catch the bus, so I was the only one there. I put my luggage . I took out the Citizen automatic mechanical watch I had worn before entering the prison from my backpack. The hands were still ticking! This watch was a wedding , and it seemed to be of good quality. It was just past 11 a.m., so the shuttle bus wouldn't arrive until I wasn't in a hurry, though, because I wanted to use this hour to reflect on my thoughts and sort out my current chaotic mind. Actually, I've always felt that what happened three years ago was very strange; the coincidences were too numerous. At first, I didn't suspect anything, but after spending time in prison with a bunch of cunning conspirators and criminal experts, my mind started to click. I realized that what happened that day wasn't simple, but I couldn't . Then later, "Old Talker" was put in our cell, and after becoming familiar with him like a wise old man, I told him my story in detail and asked him to analyze it. He immediately concluded that I had been framed. As for the motives of the person who framed me, that can only be investigated after I'm released. Time is the nemesis of all conspiracies, and nearly three years is enough time for everything to come to light. Yes, this time I must go back to my old workplace and get to the bottom of this. I need to see who went to such lengths to scheme against me. The air in the countryside is much fresher than in the city, without a trace of pollution, as if it had been washed and filtered with clean water. I greedily inhaled this fresh air, leaned my backpack against the railing under the bus stop sign, and contentedly dozed off, my thoughts drifting back to my time at my old workplace…

Six years ago, in June, neither a son of an official nor a son of a wealthy family, I faced
the dilemma of choosing a career after graduating from university. However, good fortune smiled upon me; I happened to attend the campus recruitment fair at Harbin Institute of Technology. Among the many
companies recruiting, I initially selected "China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation 061 Base.
" Having some knowledge of military industry, I knew that this so-called "061 Base" was actually China's
production base for cruise missiles and intercontinental ballistic missiles. Although the salary was relatively low compared to other recruiting companies, and it was located in the remote
Guizhou province, my fascination with the mysterious missile base still led me to choose it. What attracted me even more was that the
company was recruiting for mechanical engineering, which was exactly my major.
After the company's recruitment presentation, I immediately submitted my resume. About two hours later, I had a written test and an interview
. The written test was fairly standard, with no particularly difficult professional questions. The interview was even easier; it mainly involved
a background check , asking about my parents' workplaces, political affiliations, etc., much like a casual conversation. Since I was born in
the Yimeng Mountain revolutionary base area in Shandong, and my ancestors have all been Party members, I passed this hurdle quickly.
Next, a technical department leader conducted a simple technical interview, which I also passed easily.
To be honest, receiving the offer so easily felt a bit unreal. I was genuinely
worried this might be a fake company. I felt that it shouldn't be so
easy to get into an important unit that produces "national strategic equipment." Something felt off, but I couldn't quite
put my finger on .
In early July, as required by the offer, I said goodbye to my parents and sister, took a two-day train journey,
and traveled over 2,400 kilometers before finally arriving at the headquarters of "Base 061" in Xiaohe District, Guiyang City, to report for duty.
Standing at the headquarters entrance, gazing at the modern, white, arched high-rise office building, I finally felt at ease
. The office environment seemed much better than I had imagined.
When I arrived at the personnel department at the designated time, I found over a dozen other
university students, similar to myself, already seated in the conference room.
Soon after, a deputy director surnamed Chu entered the conference room and began reciting the base's glorious
history. Hearing this, I learned that "Base 061" wasn't just one location, but encompassed 17
industrial enterprises (1 listed company), 2 commercial enterprises, and 9 public institutions. Furthermore, it wasn't just located in Guiyang;
some enterprises were also distributed in Zunyi and remote mountainous areas throughout Guizhou.
The reason it was hidden deep in the mountains of Southwest China was because of the strategic relocation undertaken during the Sino-Soviet split to avoid losing all industrial capacity in a nuclear
attack —the so-called "Three Lines Construction.
" When he said, "We are the 'sword forgers' of the Republic," I felt a surge of excitement. The sacred and
significant work naturally filled me with immense pride.
Unexpectedly, at this moment, Deputy Director Chu changed the subject, saying, "As I just mentioned, due to
the needs of the Third Line construction, some of our factories are located in remote areas with poor living conditions. I'd like to ask everyone, for the safety of
the Republic and to prevent our motherland from being blackmailed by nuclear weapons, are you willing to work
in such places? Are you willing to dedicate your youth to the country in such harsh conditions?"
"Yes!" "I'm willing!" "Me too!" everyone answered in unison. Of course, I
couldn't help but shout "Yes" as well, but after shouting it, I realized that I had been tricked. I secretly admired
Deputy Director Chu; he was indeed a leader, and his speaking skills were superb. We, a few college graduates who had just left school, were
unknowingly fooled and trapped by him.
Seeing that his persuasion had worked well, Deputy Director Chu smiled with satisfaction and produced a pre-prepared A4
document, saying, "Alright, since everyone is willing to obey the organization's assignments, this is your allocation plan.
I will now read it aloud: Zhao... Zunyi 4*** Factory, Liu... Zunyi 6*** Factory... Meng Chengbao
, Ziyun 7*** Factory..."
Finally, I heard my name, but I had absolutely no idea about Ziyun 7*** Factory, so
I didn't feel anything special
. "Okay, the cars that are coming to pick you up should arrive before noon. We'll have a farewell party at noon, and then you
can head to your new jobs. Here, I wish you all success in your work and that you will soon contribute to the country,"
Deputy Director Chu concluded.
Everyone looked proud to hear that a farewell party would be held for us. But later we learned that the so-called
farewell party was nothing more
than a working lunch at the headquarters guesthouse restaurant for us and the personnel from the other units who came to pick us up.
After lunch, I followed the driver from the Ziyun 7**** factory who had come to pick us up into a Jinbei minivan.
A newly arrived college graduate also got in. He was tall and robust, but his face was quite striking:
a round face, arched eyebrows, narrow, squinting eyes, a large nose, and a wide, upturned mouth—a
cheerful, Buddha-like appearance.
Later, we chatted in the car. He was indeed very talkative, speaking with a slightly accented Beijing accent, sometimes
deliberately adding "er" sounds to emphasize the Beijing flavor. Further conversation revealed his name: Yu Lezheng, from
Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, majoring in mechanical engineering, just like me. His arrival at the Aerospace Base 601
was a good match. When I asked where he was from, he deliberately changed the subject. Seeing his reluctance, I tactfully
didn't press him, but I was a little puzzled as to why he was so secretive about his hometown.
The further the car drove, the more precipitous the mountains became on both sides of the road, but the scenery grew increasingly breathtaking. Just as Li Jiayou
's poem "Sending Off Imperial Censor Shangguan to Guizhou" describes : "Don't ask about the road to Guizhou, it's easy to get lost. The sound of water is in the Wu Gorge, the mountain colors
are west of Yelang. Trees are separated by morning clouds, monkeys cry out at the dawn moon. The south is rich in emerald birds, knowing you drink from the clear stream."
Indeed, it was a place of magnificent mountains and beautiful waters. People say "Guilin 's
scenery is the best under heaven," but I don't think so. Some places in Guizhou are just as beautiful.
After driving for half an hour, seeing fewer and fewer vehicles on the road and the road conditions becoming increasingly rugged, we were going deeper and
deeper into the mountains. A little anxious, I asked the driver, "
How far is Ziyun from Guiyang? Why haven't we arrived yet?"
The driver replied, "Ziyun is over 100 kilometers from Guiyang, it takes about two and a half hours to drive there.
We've only just begun."
Hearing this, Yu Lezheng and I were both surprised and exclaimed at the same time, "So far!"
The driver chuckled dismissively and remained silent. Since things had come to this, I had no choice but to accept it silently, but inwardly
I was cursing that Deputy Director Chu from the personnel department at headquarters: "What a big liar! He tricked me into
coming to this godforsaken place. I knew it was too easy during the recruitment process, something was definitely wrong, and I've been scammed."
I no longer cared about the scenery outside the window; instead, I leaned back against the seat and closed my eyes to rest.
Driving over 2,000 kilometers in the past two days had indeed left me quite tired, and I soon drifted off to sleep.
"Hey, hey, Meng Chengbao, wake up, we've arrived." I was woken by Yu Lezheng at around 4 PM.
I got out of the car, and before me stood a magnificent, high-end tiled seven-story office building. A giant
metal sign on the roof read: "7**** Factory," and a long red banner hung from the awning in front of the building,
proclaiming: "Work hard for 100 days to ensure the timely delivery of key models." Three flagpoles stood in the small square below the steps,
with national and colorful flags fluttering in the breeze.
Looking at the scene before me, I felt invigorated. It seemed this place wasn't as bad as I had imagined; it gave off a
positive and inspiring vibe.
Without further ado, Yu Lezheng and I followed the driver's directions to the personnel office on the third floor to report for duty. They told
us to come back tomorrow for work assignments. A staff member from the personnel office then led us to the general affairs office to arrange
our accommodations: room 417 on the fourth floor of the single dormitory building.
"Are we sharing a room? Can't we each have our own?" Yu Lezheng
asked in his not-so-authentic Beijing accent.
"No, rooms are very scarce. Having a room at all is already a blessing," the woman in the general affairs office said coldly
. Seeing the older woman's attitude sent a chill down my spine. I had a vague feeling that they weren't
very welcoming to us newly assigned college graduates. Even the driver who picked us up and the
people from the personnel department seemed indifferent, their attitude much worse than the personnel at headquarters. I really didn't know
what was going on.
Yu Le and I each took our room keys and followed the older woman to see the rooms. It turned out the factory area and the dormitory area
were separate, quite far apart. Even within the factory area, each workshop wasn't in a separate valley; almost every
workshop occupied its own valley. We drove for over a kilometer along the winding mountain road before reaching
the single dormitory building.
It was a very old four-story building, looking at least a decade old. Many window
frames were peeling, and some were even cracked. We carried our large bags of luggage up to our fourth-floor room.
The corridor was cluttered with all sorts of miscellaneous items, almost blocking the way. The living conditions seemed poor.
A lady from the general affairs office opened the door for us, checked us over, and then went downstairs. Before leaving,
she told us we could eat at the staff canteen in the northwest corner of the dormitory area's central square. Yu Le and I
were left there staring at each other.
It was a room of about 30 square meters. To the left of the entrance was a small bathroom. There
was a single bed and a wardrobe against the east and west walls respectively, and two desks facing each other under the south-facing window.
"It's alright, much better than our school dorms, right?" Yu Le
said cheerfully after looking around the room. He was definitely an optimist.
"Yeah, better than our school dorms too. Our dorms were crammed with four people, and there wasn't even a bathroom. We had to
use the communal washroom in the corridor to wash up," I chimed in. What's done is done.
We cleaned the room, made our beds, packed our luggage, hung our clothes in the wardrobes, and
put on the desks. By the time we finished, it was almost six o'clock.
"Meng Chengbao, let's go to the cafeteria for lunch and take a walk around the dormitory area to get familiar with the surroundings," Yu Le said,
sitting on his bed.
"Okay, I need to buy all my bedding first. I don't even have a pillow, how am I going to sleep tonight?" I
replied .
So we went down from the single dormitory building, ate at the cafeteria, and then strolled around the entire dormitory area
. We learned that the dormitory area we were in was the old one, with more than twenty five- or six-story dormitory
buildings. We heard that there was a newly built dormitory area in the valley to the west, where some of the less senior employees had been allocated housing.
It seems that this factory has quite a few employees; the two dormitory areas, including their families, probably number in the thousands.
Our old dormitory area was, of course, the most bustling. The area around the central square was filled with shops, mobile
communication service centers, supermarkets, restaurants, barbershops, and even a small savings branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
It was practically a small town. Yu Le and I bought all our daily necessities and bedding at the supermarket
and then carried a huge pile of items back to the dormitory.
After washing up, I went to bed early. I'd been traveling for two whole days and hadn't had a proper rest
. Finally settled in, I felt much more at ease and needed a good night's sleep. Yu Lezheng, on the other hand, was full of energy
, even pulling out his laptop and engrossed in reading it. I was too tired
to pay him any attention, and soon my head hit the pillow before I drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, I was awakened by a loud reveille outside my window. Listening closely, I realized it was the dormitory
's loudspeaker broadcasting the morning and evening routine, followed by a news program from the Central People's Broadcasting Station. With the loudspeaker
so loud, how could I possibly sleep? A little annoyed, I grabbed my phone and checked the time—it was only 6:30 AM.
"Military enterprises are really something else," Yu
Lezheng remarked, lying on his bed, also awakened by the noise. This guy was truly an optimist; he could
find something good in everything.
"Ugh, I can't sleep. Let's get up and go for a stroll outside the dormitory area. We haven't explored it yet. We can grab
some breakfast and then go to HR to see how we're going to be assigned," I suggested.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. There's a huge Miao village across the river from the factory area. I'd
love to see it," Yu Lezheng said excitedly.
"What Miao village? I didn't see it yesterday," I asked excitedly. When I think of the Miao people,
the first thing that comes to mind is Lan Fenghuang, the beautiful and charming Miao
woman about Miao beauties makes me incredibly eager to see them.
"You were sleeping in the car all day yesterday, so you wouldn't have seen it. I enjoyed the scenery the whole way.
The Miao village across the river is right next to the main road; it's on the way. After we pass that village and cross the bridge
, we'll be at the factory area. It's very close, just across the river," Yu Lezheng explained.
"Okay, let's get up and go for a walk." I couldn't wait to get dressed and go to the small
bathroom to wash up.
Just as Yu Lezheng said, as soon as we stepped out of the dormitory area, we saw a
magnificent , their style simple and unique. Later, I learned that the village on the other side was called
Nazuo Village, and the clear river was called Mo'an Province.
We quickened our pace and crossed the bridge to the edge of the village on the other side. Along the road, there was a row of shops with
signs in Chinese characters. Since it was still early, only one or two breakfast shops were open. Seeing the
steaming breakfast shops, my appetite was whetted.
"Let's go try the Miao breakfast, I've never had it before." I called to Yu Lezheng and
went over .
When we entered the shop, we found that there were already two or three customers eating there. As I was observing how their
breakfast differed from ours, I heard a pretty young waitress say, "
Gentlemen , please have a few bowls of noodles.
" "Huh? This isn't a Miao breakfast," I asked, puzzled. I saw the diners
eating slightly yellow, curly noodles, with a layer of bright red chili oil floating on the broth. The bowls
also contained a duck egg, large intestine, duck blood curd, bean sprouts, and other ingredients. This breakfast didn't look like what Miao people ate
.
"Hehe, what Miao breakfast? This is our local specialty, Changwang noodles. Gentlemen,
is this your first time here? We've been here for two years, and this is the first time we've met such interesting
customers," the young woman said, smiling and looking me up and down.
Worried she might overcharge us, I immediately pointed to our factory across the street and said loudly, "Oh, we're
new employees from the factory across the street."
At this, the other diners looked over and laughed. Yu Le and I were completely bewildered by their laughter
, staring at each other, utterly confused.
"Hehe, they're all from your factory, everyone who comes here to eat is from here. Our shop caters to your
factory's business." The girl remained smiling and extremely enthusiastic, showing no sign of mockery.
"Oh, then let's have two bowls of noodles first." I didn't dare ask anything more, afraid of making a fool of myself. But
inwardly thought, they don't look like Miao people at all, they're clearly Han Chinese.
I'll ask about this Miao village later after I've gotten to know my colleagues at the factory; asking these strangers now would make me look ridiculous.
However, the Changwang noodles were truly delicious—slender, chewy, and flavorful, the spicy broth rich and fragrant, and the
large intestines were incredibly flavorful, bursting with oil and aroma.
"This is really good! I say, Meng Chengbao, let's come here for breakfast every day from now on!" Yu Le
exclaimed loudly to me, his eyes constantly darting towards the smiling, pretty girl. He seemed to be saying this intentionally
to a girl.
Sure enough, the pretty girl smiled sweetly and said, "That's great! You're welcome
to come every day." That sweet voice was so soothing to the ears.
The restaurant gradually filled up with customers, and the girl was busy serving them. After Yu Lezheng and I finished eating and paid the bill,
the girl smiled and saw us out.
"The service is really good; no wonder business is so good this morning," I exclaimed as we walked towards the factory area
.
"Do you think it's just because of the good service?" Yu Lezheng gave me a meaningful look.
"Otherwise, oh, by the way, the Changwang noodles are indeed quite good," I added.
"Didn't you notice that most of the customers are men? And what do you think of that girl's appearance?" Yu Lezheng asked.
"That girl is still young, only a teenager. You're overthinking it. In my hometown, it's rare to see
women out for breakfast so early in the morning," I said dismissively.
"Okay, maybe I'm overthinking it. Is it even necessary for us to go back to the dorm? It's already past seven. Let's just sneak
over to the factory and report to the HR department," Yu Lezheng said.
"Yeah, let's go. I'm really curious which department I'll be assigned to," I agreed.
We waited outside the HR department until work started. Their staff arrived one after another. The same officer who
had greeted led us into the office. After we completed the signing of the relevant employment contracts,
he took out two "Appointment Notices" and distributed them to Yu Lezheng and me, saying, "Your work arrangements were decided yesterday
afternoon . Take your appointment notices and report to your new units."
I quickly took the "Appointment Notice" and read it. I was assigned to the Transportation Department as a technician. I glanced
at Yu Lezheng's notice; he was assigned to Workshop 3 as a technician. After getting the address from the HR officer,
Yu Lezheng and I went to our respective new units to report.
The Transportation Department wasn't in the same valley as the factory office building, but in a deeper valley. I
walked for about a mile to find it. The scale was indeed considerable. Rows of garages lined both sides of a
huge parking lot, which held about twenty various transport vehicles,
mainly Dongfeng flathead trucks. At the far end of the parking lot was a two-story office building with a large sign for the transportation department hanging at the entrance. Next to it were
several workshops with signs for auto repair shops.
Looking at the rows of cars, I wondered, "This is clearly a transport fleet.
What can a mechanical engineering student like me do here
?" My worries weren't unfounded. Sure enough, I was assigned to the auto repair shop as a technician. This
had absolutely nothing to do with my major, and I had never studied car repair. This was completely
contrary . I had come to contribute to the country's defense, aiming for the missile base. But now
, I couldn't even see a trace of a missile, and I had been transformed into a car mechanic. The huge psychological gap
left me quite disappointed.
There were 12 people in the auto repair team. Besides three middle-aged experienced mechanics, the rest were all young people,
children of factory workers. The three experienced mechanics were relatively polite to me, but the young guys were different. They always felt that since I'd just
started, my salary was already much higher than theirs, who had been working for two or three years. They were very resentful and constantly made sarcastic remarks about me.
Whenever there was a repair job, I would go over and watch, wanting to learn more about repair techniques so I wouldn't just be a
technician in name only and unable to do anything. But these young guys would keep mocking me: "You don't even know where
the clutch is, what kind of technician are you?"
"Yeah, you're doing a really good job as a technician. You don't have to do anything and you still get such a high salary."
These guys had all grown up together in the factory, so naturally they didn't take me, an outsider, seriously. I
was a person with pride, and after they said that a few times, I stopped going to watch any car repair work. I could only sit
in the break room and sullenly flip through some professional car repair books. This period was the most depressing
time I had at the factory.
My only joy each day was going back to the dormitory after work and chatting with Yu Lezheng. This guy was an
optimist and very talkative; he always had endless topics to discuss. We even installed broadband in the dormitory,
splitting the cost, and used his laptop to watch movies online.
Through our conversations, I learned that I wasn't the only one being ostracized by the factory's own children; even
someone as cheerful as Yu Lezheng was being ostracized by the factory's native-born employees in their workshop. Later, after analyzing the situation, we realized
they seemed to treat the factory as their own home. We outsiders were seen as taking away their
jobs, especially since we were inexperienced newbies, making them think we were
all talk and no action, getting high wages for nothing.
Our shared experiences and the fact that we lived and ate in the same dormitory every day gradually made Yu Le and I
close friends. He was a good person in every way except for being a bit too lecherous. Every night, he would comment
on the pretty girls and wives in their workshop. He
'd talk non-stop about who was pretty, who had big breasts, who had a round bottom, and who had alluring eyes.
But he only talked to me about it; he mentioned that the attractive women were either already married
or had boyfriends from the factory. Besides commenting on other people's wives and girlfriends, he also
watched pornographic videos online until very late every night. Even after I went to sleep, he would still be watching those
obscene .
However, it's undeniable that he has many merits. Besides being optimistic and good at communication, what
I admire most about him is his nightly habit of writing in his diary. Every day, he would
mysteriously and .
After living together for a while, I accidentally discovered one of Yu Lezheng's most shameful secrets one night
. That night, I must have drunk too much water and was urinating early, so I woke up early. I vaguely heard
a series of slight creaking sounds coming from the bed opposite me. I suddenly opened my eyes and saw, in the reflection of
the milky white , that Yu Lezheng was naked from the waist down, facing the wall with his back to me, and his right elbow
was moving violently. I immediately understood: he was masturbating.
Because I'd encountered something similar in school, I immediately understood the situation. I didn't disturb
him, just secretly watched. After a while, he increased the speed of his arm movements,
his thick thighs straightened, and his buttocks tightened. Soon, his lower body began to tremble violently,
and he let out a low groan.
The storm passed, and everything returned to a deathly silence. After a while, he started moving, as if trying to put on his
underwear. He turned his head as if to check on me. I quickly turned my head, closed my eyes, and
pretended . I suppressed the urge to urinate and fell asleep again.
The next morning, I pretended I knew nothing and went to the breakfast
shop . But now I had a new understanding of him. I paid special attention to his eyes and
noticed that they kept lingering on the cute waitress at the breakfast shop. Sigh, this guy is truly
hopeless . She's clearly just a teenage girl; would he really be after her?
For the next few nights, I pretended to go to sleep early, curious to see if he masturbated frequently.
Sure enough, as I suspected: he would wait a long time after I fell asleep before turning off the computer, repeatedly checking to make sure I
was asleep before turning off the lights. Then he would lie in bed, take off his underwear, and masturbate. However, he was very vigilant, frequently
glancing at me.
After observing him for a while, I discovered another habit he had while masturbating: when he was particularly engrossed, he would talk
to himself, sometimes even whispering someone's name. Because it was so quiet at night, I vaguely
recognized the name as Su
Hui, the woman he described to me every night as the most beautiful newlywed in their workshop. He said Su Hui had only been married for a little over a year, and had a pair of mesmerizing, captivating
eyes ; every time he met her gaze, he felt his bones go numb.
Hearing him mutter Su Hui's name while masturbating, I felt a chill run down my spine: Was this guy eyeing Su Hui
's newlywed wife?
Yu Lezheng always took a long time to ejaculate every night; I guessed he was fantasizing about a scenario with the newlywed Su Hui.
I had similar fantasies during my adolescence, so it wasn't hard to imagine.
Time flies, and I'd been at the repair shop for a month. When
payday my total salary was less than that of the other young, ordinary repairmen.
Although my base salary was much higher than theirs, they received bonuses. Our bonuses were calculated as a percentage of each
repair job's fees, so their bonuses were significantly higher than mine.
That night, back in the dorm, I compared my pay slip with Yu Lezheng's; his total salary was over two hundred yuan more than mine
. I felt quite depressed.
"Da Bao (Yu Lezheng has started calling me by my nickname since we've been together for a while. I'm the eldest child in my family,
with a younger sister, so I've had this catchy nickname since I was little: Da Bao.), I'm not trying to be mean, but
the trucking team is supposed to be the most lucrative department in our factory, and look how badly you're doing," Yu Lezheng
said in his broken Beijing accent.
"Who told you the trucking team is the most lucrative department? I don't see that coming from anyone," I retorted.
"Sister Yu, who works in my office, I hear her complaining about it every day. Her husband works in your trucking team's repair squad, his
surname is Hou. She complains all the time that the trucking team's drivers make too much money, while her husband just stays in the repair squad fixing cars, and
at night 's obsessed with playing chess, he doesn't know anything about earning money for the family," Yu Lezheng said.
"I know Master Hou, he's the deputy foreman of our repair squad, so if he said it, it shouldn't be false
. What did Sister Yu say about the trucking team making the most money?" I pressed.
"Your trucking team's drivers go to Sichuan every week to deliver products, or to Guiyang to pick up raw materials, right?" Yu
"I see," Yu Lezheng asked.
"So what?" I asked, puzzled.
"Hey, you're such a bookworm. You drive all the way to Sichuan to deliver products, and you come back empty-handed, right? A lot of
drivers pick up side jobs at the local freight depots, using public fuel to earn their own freight fees. I heard from Sister Yu that
they can earn over a thousand yuan on just one trip. There are also those who drive empty-handed to Guiyang to pick up raw materials every day. They never go empty-handed
; many shops around here hire them to carry goods. They can earn a hundred or eighty yuan a day." Yu Lezheng
said knowledgeably.
"Oh, I see. No wonder all those drivers are so enthusiastic, and very few of them take weekends off.
But they're the ones who earn the money. I'm in the repair shop; I don't get any of that kind of money," I said.
"I heard from Sister Yu that the team just retired an old driver last month, and they're short of drivers now. Sister
Yu has been encouraging her husband to take his place, but he doesn't want to and is only obsessed with playing chess every night. She
complains to me every day. Do you have a driver's license? Why don't you give it a try? You could earn a lot more money each month," Yu Lezheng urged
.
"I do have a driver's license. I've taken all sorts of tests to make it easier to find a job. But I don't know if the leaders will agree to me becoming
a driver ," I said uncertainly.
"It's all about effort. How will you know it won't work if you don't try? If it really doesn't work, you can try visiting your department head.
But let's make this clear first: if you really become a driver, don't forget me! You'll have to pay for every
meal we go out with ," Yu Lezheng said, half-jokingly and half-seriously.
"Of course, if it works out," I replied, genuinely somewhat swayed by his offer. Who wouldn't be tempted by earning a few thousand more yuan
a month ?
The next day, following the story I'd discussed with Yu Lezheng, I went to see Director Sun of our transportation department. Director Sun was in his
fifties , looking very kind, and he asked me with concern.
I first explained my situation in the repair team, then requested a transfer from there.
Director Sun immediately frowned and said, "Xiao Meng, I know you're a top student from a prestigious university, and assigning
you to the repair team is indeed a bit of a waste. But currently, our transportation department really doesn't have any other
vacancies . Just bear with it for now, and I'll transfer you as soon as a better vacancy becomes available."
I immediately pressed, "Director, I heard our fleet is currently short of drivers."
"Yes, that's right. Old Master Ma retired two months ago, so there is indeed a vacancy. What's
wrong ...?" Director Sun looked at me, puzzled.
"Director, I do have a driver's license. Could I transfer to the fleet to drive?" I immediately followed up.
"What? You're a top student from a prestigious university! Why would you want to drive? That's not something you
can handle . It's very tough. There's no day or night work, it's hard and tiring. There are almost no normal holidays."
Director Sun looked at me incredulously and explained.
"Sigh, Director, what do you mean by 'top student'? I've even worked in the repair shop, what's there to be afraid of when I drive?"
I insisted, because I sensed that Director Sun wasn't rejecting me outright.
"What kind of driver's license do you have? Can you drive a big truck?" Director Sun asked again.
I immediately and confidently pulled my driver's license from my pocket and handed it to Director Sun.
"Oh, not bad, it's an A2 license. But you've only driven big trucks at driving school, haven't you? You haven't actually
driven long distances on your own, have you?" Director Sun handed my license back to me and asked.
"Yes, I did only practice at driving school." I answered truthfully.
"To be honest, Xiao Meng, I'm really worried about this. We need to choose drivers from within our unit.
Two young men from your repair team have approached me about driving, but they
do . By the time they get their licenses, it'll be too late. Transportation tasks don't wait. Since you want to
drive and have a valid license, that solves my immediate problem. But Xiao Meng, I still need to find an
experienced mentor to guide you. You can't take on tasks alone yet," Director Sun said earnestly.
"Okay, thank you, Director," I said happily.
"Well then, Xiao Meng, go back to work and focus on your job. I'll find you a good mentor, but we need to ask
their opinion and see if they're willing to take you on as an apprentice," Director Sun said with a smile.
"Okay. I'll wait for your news." I said excitedly. I really didn't expect things to go so
smoothly . I didn't even need to prepare a whole set of excuses. How could I not be happy?
When I got back to the dormitory at noon, I wanted to tell Yu Lezheng the good news, but I found him lying
on the bed with a pale face. When I asked, I found out that he had tonsillitis and a low-grade fever. Looking at
Yu Lezheng, who was usually tall and strong, in this state, I even wondered: Did he masturbate too much every night, which weakened his
immune system? But despite my thoughts, I still went to the cafeteria to get him food and boiled
water for him. After taking care of him and making sure he ate and drank the water, it was already time for my afternoon shift. I repeatedly told him to go to the staff
hospital for a check-up before going to work. Now was the most crucial time. I definitely had to perform well and try to
satisfy Director Sun so that he could find me a good mentor to teach me driving as soon as possible.
I waited all afternoon at the repair shop, but Director Sun didn't come to find me. I guess he hadn't found a
suitable mechanic yet. I understand that's understandable; who wants to earn extra money
with a lackey? Wouldn't that expose them? According to our team's rules, it usually takes
at least , which is tantamount to having a spy on the master for three months.
Drivers looking to earn extra money are usually hesitant about that.
When I got back to the dormitory that evening, I found Yu Lezheng hadn't returned yet. I didn't know how his condition was. I
called found out he was in the hospital getting an IV drip. I quickly asked if he wanted me to help, but he hurriedly refused,
only asking me to get him some food from the cafeteria.
After eating at the cafeteria, I brought Yu Lezheng some food back. He returned shortly after, looking
much better than at noon, though still a little unwell.
After dinner, I thought he would lie down and rest early, but to my
surprise, he lay in bed and began to rave about the nurse who had given him an IV at the hospital that day. He said she was
the most , as beautiful as Xi Shi, with a face that could make fish sink and geese fall from the sky,
a beauty that could topple kingdoms. Seeing his somewhat excited expression, I remained unmoved, because he praises women every day. Wasn't he just praising the newlywed Su Hui, saying how charming and alluring she was?
That evening, I thought he wouldn't masturbate anymore because he wasn't feeling well, but to my surprise, he started masturbating
again . And this time, the person he was muttering about wasn't the newlywed Su Hui anymore,
but Nurse Wu. That must be the beautiful nurse he'd been talking about that afternoon. I have to say, this
guy is a real fickle bastard. He used to fantasize about Su Hui every night, but now
, after just one meeting with Nurse Wu that afternoon, he's already infatuated, completely forgetting about Su Hui
. What a heartless womanizer!
Yu Lezheng's behavior in the following days made me look at him even more "impressively." He was already completely recovered
after , but he actually went back for more. Just to be able to see the goddess he was talking about every day, he
stayed at the hospital for three more days of IV drips.
I think I understand Yu Lezheng pretty well now. Although he's a womanizer, his taste isn't bad. After all, he
graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and his horizons were certainly broadened by attending a prestigious university in the capital. An ordinary
woman certainly wouldn't be enough to make him so infatuated; it seems this Nurse Wu must indeed be quite attractive.
Gradually, I also began to become curious about this Nurse Wu, whom Yu Lezheng was constantly amazed by. I really wanted to see
what kind of stunning beauty could bewitch Yu Lezheng like this.
Although I was curious about Nurse Wu, I wasn't so bored as to pretend to be sick like Yu Lezheng and try to
get close to her .
Until I discovered something that surprised me, which finally made me decide to see Nurse Wu.
That is, now when Yu Lezheng went to the breakfast shop in the Miao village across the river every morning, he
no longer stared at the cute waitress like before. Moreover, she even had an
expression on her face that said, "Having seen the Five Sacred Mountains, one need not see other mountains; having seen Huangshan, one need not see the Five Sacred Mountains." This astonished me greatly. Could it be that Nurse
Wu was truly so beautiful that men who saw her could no longer be interested in other women
? I made up my mind: I must find an opportunity to go to the staff hospital today to see if this Nurse Wu, who had captivated Yu Lezheng,
was really as beautiful as Yu Lezheng praised.
