Chapter Two: Counterattack

In the capital city of Aran, the National Day celebrations lasted all day, showing
no . Queen Vanvis hosted a banquet for the guests attending the celebrations. Nobles of Aran
and kings of neighboring small countries were all present.

In such an occasion, Ivy deliberately acted politely and elegantly, but constantly maintaining this facade was exhausting.

Ivy's younger sister, Finn, was equally uncomfortable. Always aloof, she was completely unaccustomed to this environment, and
her complexion remained poor.

"Little sister, are you feeling unwell?" Ivy whispered to Finn.

Finn pursed her lips and nodded slightly.

"After the banquet, there's the ball. How about I take you out to sneak away? You saw what it's like
outside ; there must be lots of interesting things."

"No, thank you." Finn shook her head again.

"You'll get bored staying here all the time. Go out for a walk, just to keep your sister company."

Finn thought for a moment and softly agreed to Ivy.

At the banquet, Queen Vanvis maintained a smile until a black nightingale perched on her shoulder,
seemingly whispering something to her. Vanvis's expression turned serious; her relaxed smile slowly transformed
into a furrowed brow and a grim look.

"Magic Nightingale! Mother, has something happened?" Ida asked.

Officers and officials of a certain rank would carry envelopes containing magical nightingales. They would write the message on
the envelope, open it, and the envelope would transform into a nightingale, flying to the recipient and
delivering the message.

"After the banquet, come with me to the back," Vanvis said with a calm smile, having composed himself.

"Yes, Mother."

After the banquet, Vanvis said a few words as an opening to the ball before leaving with Ada.

"Mother, what happened?" Ada asked.

"An alien army has invaded our west coast by sea," Vanvis said.

"Ah!?" Ada seemed surprised. "Is it true?"

"Not sure yet. I just received a text message from the mayor of Jetro City."

"That's a city on the west coast." "

The message mentioned that the alien army is quite powerful, with tall, strong, and extremely cruel soldiers. Regardless of whether it's true or not,
we need to prepare. Go and arrange the preparations for the expedition immediately..."

As soon as he finished speaking, Vanvis and Ida slowly raised their heads, and several nightingales were already hovering above Vanvis's
head .

Ivy saw her mother and eldest sister leave, so she seized the opportunity to sneak out of the castle with Finn and
blend into the celebrating crowd. Ivy, who had been suppressed all day, was finally released and
played and laughed wildly in the crowd. Although Finn didn't act as wildly as his sister Ivy, he was in a
much better mood than before, smiling as he observed

the people on the street.

The next day, in the square where the military parade was held, tens of thousands of people gathered early, ready to witness the splendor of the Royal Knights
of Aran .

"My people, since the founding of Aran, we have never suffered a defeat, for we have a powerful army
that represents justice and glory. It is precisely because of this that Aran enjoys its current prosperity.

But just yesterday, a foreign army invaded our western coast, burning, killing,
looting , which infuriates me greatly. Our

knights have already mounted their horses, donned their armor, and polished their swords, ready to charge forth with the noble bearing and
undying . Today's military parade will be their departure ceremony. Please offer your
sincerest blessings so that the knights may use the blood of the enemy to commemorate their fallen comrades and soon sing the triumphant song.

Long live Aran!"

Everyone present was moved by Vanvis's impassioned speech, chanting "Long live Aran!" in unison,
a strong sense of hatred and national identity filling every crevice of their bodies.

The royal knights, clad in silver armor, rode tall horses in neat formations.

The silver-white armor represented the justice, courage, beauty, and sensuality of the women of Aran. While ensuring combat readiness
, the armor's weight was minimized to maximize the overall aesthetic appeal. Lace-trimmed
black gloves and stockings accentuated the knights' long, slender limbs. Pure white heart-shaped bodices covered their upper chests,

revealing their full, rounded breasts

, while lace-trimmed white trousers provided modesty. The entire suit of armor, worn by the knights, was not only exceptionally
magnificent but also perfectly showcased the sensual figures of the Aran royal knights,
representing .

Leading the way was Aida, the Grand Commander of the Royal Knights, exuding arrogance and imposing
presence . Although the public had witnessed a military parade before, this was a truly awe-inspiring sight of
the entire Royal Knights in action, and a genuine feeling of their confidence in the face of battle. The magnificent military

parade captivated countless young girls

, inspiring dreams and aspirations for royal knights. Even adults might be
moved to tears .

Ada led the 40,000 knights stationed in the Holy City northwards, continuously
regrouping with surrounding knightly units, eventually reaching a strength of 100,000. The army grew larger and faster, its march
increasing in speed. Traveling day and night, the vanguard of the knightly legion
would take , while the main force...

It would take about ten days to reach the main battlefield. Ida knew they were racing against time;
a day or an hour later meant the potential loss of another city or the death of another.

The vanguard, a thirty-cavalry unit led by Brida, was tasked with scouting and clearing the way through
narrow paths .

For the first five days, Brida ordered her troops to advance at full speed. When they reached the Gothic Plains, they were only about two hundred kilometers
from the western coast where the orcish forces had landed. Brida had essentially completed her mission.
After reporting back to Ida via bird messenger, she ordered her troops to slow their advance and search for
hiding .

Continuing westward, Brida's forces finally
encountered . In the first week of the war, the orcish forces, having enjoyed smooth sailing and encountered no resistance
, had become complacent and completely unaware of the approaching enemy forces. Breda led his men in a charge against the orcs.

Those orcs who couldn't mount their war wolves in time could only stand and

fight, weapons in hand. These orcs became easy targets for the cavalry. Breda rode past at full speed,
his sword flashing twice, and two orc heads fell to the ground. In an instant, the knights had reduced the orcs to half their numbers. The remaining
orcs mounted their war wolves and fled. Breda, naturally, couldn't let these few orcs escape, so he quickly
rode after them, pursuing them and

sniping them one by one with his bow and arrow. After chasing for another half kilometer, he finally killed all the orcs.

In this battle, Breda, at the cost of two horses and four wounded men, had
annihilated . But encountering an orc scout force here meant that the orc army was nearby;
the immediate priority was to find a place to rest.

Finally, Breda found a forest, where the group rested for the night. Brida
reported the encounter with the orc scouts to Commander-in-Chief Ida, but Ida had hoped to advance the main force to Desi Town
before arrived. Desi Town was a large town with nearly ten thousand inhabitants, a vital
transportation hub for both waterways and land routes, and a strategically vital

location. If the orc scouts had already appeared near Desi Town, then Desi Town might also be doomed
.

Ida ordered Brida to lead her men to Desi Town immediately to investigate. Brida dared not delay and ordered her men
to rush to Desi Town at full speed. On their way to Desi Town, they encountered a large group of refugees.

"Did you escape from Desi Town?" Brida asked loudly.

The refugees' eyes lit up as if they had seen
saviors .

"We are all residents of Desi Town. Those monsters have already reached our town. When we left,
the town's police were still putting up a full-scale resistance," an elder replied.

Without a word, Brida led her men on a full-speed advance towards Desi. The refugees stood frozen,
watching the royal knights gallop towards their homeland.

The Desi town's policemen, who never saw reinforcements, met
the same fate as the other resistance fighters in the conquered towns, dying in gang rape and brutality. When Brida arrived in Desi, she witnessed
the policemen being hung naked from the church's outer wall. This sight utterly shocked her and her men, and the royal

knights began to fight fearlessly

.

The orcish force that had captured Desi numbered over a hundred, but Brida, with only about thirty men under her command,
utterly routed them, and the surviving orcs fled westward. Brida laid down the bodies of the fallen policemen and,
along with eight of her fallen men, buried them in the cemetery behind the church.

The orcs had fled, but soon more orcish forces would counterattack, and she herself was left with only about twenty men.

Although Brida had won two battles in the past two days,
the fighting ability of the orc soldiers was not to be underestimated. If he chose to defend Desi Town with his remaining men, their fate might
be

the same as that of the Desi Town police

. But as a royal knight of Aran, how could he be afraid of death? His eight men and the Desi Town
police had already died heroically for their country, and he could not betray their sacrifices.

The next morning, the orc army returned to Desi Town, this time with more than three hundred men,
determined to win . The quiet town of Desi seemed completely lifeless as the orcs quickly poured into it.
Ten cavalrymen who had been lying in ambush outside the town quickly circled around to the rear. The orcs, focused only on charging forward, did not notice the danger behind them, and

the twenty-odd orcs at the rear were all killed

.

Brida led the remaining ten men out of the alley and cut the advancing orc army in half. After killing
a dozen or so orc soldiers, they quickly fled through the alleyways. The orc soldiers who tried to pursue them
were caught in pre-prepared traps as they passed through the narrow alleys; falling stones and barrels killed or wounded them.

This was Breda's plan: to use a small group of cavalry to exploit their mobility in open terrain to tie down
a portion of the enemy forces. He, on the other hand, would use the town's terrain to repeatedly outflank and guerrilla, delaying as much time as possible.

But Breda seemed to have forgotten that the orc army also had formidable cavalry. A dozen or so orc
soldiers riding war wolves began pursuing the royal knights wandering outside the town. Once targeted, the royal knights lost
their ability to tie down enemy forces and could only flee temporarily. However, the war wolves were
faster than the royal knights' horses, and with nowhere left to retreat,

the royal knights had no choice but to fight to the death. Having already won two victories, the royal knights were naturally full of confidence,
but the orcs immediately gave them a rude awakening. The war wolves pounced on the royal knights, throwing them from their horses.
Without their mounts, the knights were trapped like caged beasts, and after several rounds of fighting, they were all defeated.

Brida wasn't faring much better. As the orc forces in the town increased, her strategic depth
dwindled . After several guerrilla attacks, she was completely surrounded by the orc forces. Before this battle, Brida had
prepared for the worst. Having entered the territory with nowhere to retreat, she knew she was doomed. If she fell into the hands of
the orcs , her fate would be dire.

Tragic. As royal knights, they could only die on the battlefield, not in disgrace. At Brida's command,
all the knights drew their daggers, preparing for mass suicide.

Just then, the sound of conch shells rang out from the east of the town—the charge of the royal knights.
All the royal knights present understood that Princess Ida's main force had arrived. The royal knights had another
reason to fight to the death, gripping their longswords and launching a final charge against the orcish army. But ultimately, they were outnumbered.
Brida's men fell one after another,

leaving only Brida to fight on. Blown off her horse, Brida gripped two longswords, making her last
stand. Just as she was about to be captured by the orcs, Princess Ida arrived on horseback, and with two swift strokes, several orcs beside
Brida fell to the ground. More white-armored knights charged into Desi Town, and the orcs were utterly routed.

Although Brida led her troops to the very end, thirty-one men perished, with only Brida
surviving .

The following day, Aida launched a full-scale counterattack against the orcish forces. The Royal Knights, like a ferocious army,
were unstoppable . Within a week of the initial battle, they recaptured two cities and more than ten towns.

With nowhere left to retreat, the orcish forces engaged Aida's Royal Knights in a final battle.
Under Aida's leadership, the two armies fought fiercely for three days and three nights, ultimately resulting in a victory for the Royal Knights. Completely
scattered , the orcish forces fled in all directions. Some escaped back to the sea, while others fled to the Forbidden Forest in the north.

The Forbidden Forest was a forbidden area in Aran, prohibited by law. Legend had it that it contained many terrifying, unknown
creatures, ancient monsters left over from the primordial chaos. For millennia, the people of Aran had built
high walls to protect against these monsters' sudden attacks. Unfortunately, before the orcs arrived, a section of the wall was struck by lightning
, creating a large breach that the orcs used to

escape into the Forbidden Forest.

Only a few thousand orcs escaped to the sea, while those who fled into the Forbidden Forest fared even worse, with only a mere two hundred
remaining .

At this point in the war, Aida's Royal Knights of Aran had achieved a complete victory.

However, having witnessed the orcs' atrocities, Aida could not tolerate any remaining orcs on her land.
She wanted to enter the Forbidden Forest and annihilate the remaining orc forces.

"Princess Aida, entering the Forbidden Forest is strictly forbidden . You must not act rashly

," her subordinates urged her upon hearing of her plan.

"Those compatriots who were slaughtered in the war cannot die in vain. Send a small reconnaissance
squad to assess the situation, and select some volunteers from each regiment. We'll depart tonight."

Aida's resolve was firm, and her subordinates, without further objection, obeyed.

That night, a reconnaissance team of about twenty men infiltrated the Forbidden Forest. Three days passed, and
Aida, waiting in vain, seemed to foresee the worst. On the third day, a man escaped from the Forbidden Forest. He was
a member of the reconnaissance team that had entered the Forbidden Forest three days earlier.

The man stumbled out of the Forbidden Forest, half of his armor torn away. He was extremely tense,
his logic incoherent, his speech slurred, and he was utterly disheveled. He kept repeating the same phrase, "Monsters, monsters
...
