"Hello sir, how can I help you?" I pointed in the direction my mother had disappeared. The receptionist immediately said, "I'm sorry, sir, our spa is only open to ladies. Gentlemen must wait in the lobby." I was momentarily speechless. Looking at where my mother had disappeared, I realized it was near an elevator. I quickly said to the receptionist, "I received a call saying the elevator was malfunctioning, and the company sent me to check it out." The receptionist asked the people behind her in surprise, "Who called to check the elevator?" The people behind her looked at each other blankly. The receptionist could only say to me, "Then take a look!" I walked to the elevator door and saw two elevators, one stopped on the 6th floor and the other right below. This meant my mother had gone to the 6th floor. I said to the receptionist, "What's on the 6th floor? Why is there an elevator on the 6th floor?" The receptionist didn't seem to suspect anything. "The 6th floor is our boss's office, and also some VIP spa rooms." I said "Oh," and then looked at the elevator. Heaven knows how to fix or check this thing! I turned around and gave the girl a killer smile, then said, "Can I add you on WeChat?" I wanted to distract her first. If she gave it to me, that would be great; at least when my mom came back, I'd have a suitor as a cover. If I didn't, she might think I had ulterior motives.

Sure enough, the girl blushed and whispered, "Are you here to check the elevator or to pursue me...?" She didn't finish the sentence.

I leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear, "Here you go, here you go," then looked at her with what I thought was a very cool expression. She looked me up and down a few times. "Did I get tricked? Who checks elevators in casual clothes instead of a uniform?" I chuckled and looked at her name tag. "Shu Lina, give me your number!" Shu Lina finally gave me her number, and I leaned down to say, "What time do you get off work? I'll wait for you outside!" Shu Lina blushed, lowered her head, and ran away, saying, "So embarrassing, so embarrassing!" I sighed. I had finally managed to trick this cute and clever girl. I secretly got on the elevator, pressed the button for the 6th floor, and with each floor the elevator went up, my heart pounded.
