Chapter 10: A pleasant surprise

Wenlun, who had only been working for a few days, found his workload noticeably increasing. Today, he was so busy he
didn't even have time for lunch, so he had a female employee bring him a bento box from the cafeteria. It wasn't until almost the
end of the workday that Zhixian came to his room. Seeing Wenlun still hunched over his desk, he asked, "What?
Still busy?"

Wenlun didn't even glance at him, continuing to work diligently, saying, "Don't mention it. Today, a customer complained about the Ikebukuro
branch , making everyone very nervous. Sangtian assigned this to me, and I
have to go there later."

Zhixian smiled, "It's almost six o'clock now, and you're still not leaving?"

Wenlun was startled and quickly looked up, "Really... it's already six o'clock!" Looking at his watch, he immediately
jumped up, "I have to go right now, do you want to come?" He said this while tidying up the documents on his desk.

"Alright, let's go together then. I also want to see your work ability." The

Ikebukuro

branch is located in the bustling street near the east exit of Ikebukuro Station. As soon as you exit the station, you're greeted by
packs free promotional tissues. Before you've even walked one street, you'll have so many tissues that you can't hold them all in your hands.

Another unique feature here is that whether you're walking in East or West Ikebukuro, you'll always see groups of boys in
orange overcoats or girls with dyed blonde hair and super short miniskirts, braving the cold wind
to hand out disco flyers to passersby. If you happen to meet an enthusiastic girl, she might even half-pull, half-drag
you inside to party.

"Sweet" is the trademark of one of Higashimaru's chain restaurants, with nearly a hundred branches throughout Japan. The
interiors are all decorated in pink, and the strawberry is the trademark image. Whether it's tableware, tablecloths, or even
chairs, there's a red strawberry with black dots, very contemporary. The customers are mostly
young people .

As soon as Wenlun and his companion stepped into the Ikebukuro branch, a waitress approached them. Wenlun pulled out his employee ID from his pocket
and said, "I'm the head of the Business Department 1 at headquarters, and this is Manager Li from Business Department 2. We're
here regarding a customer complaint and would like to see Manager Nakata."

The waitress was initially taken aback; she hadn't expected these two young people to be department heads from headquarters.
She quickly bowed and said, "Manager Nakata is in his office. Please come with me."

Manager Nakata, a tall, thin middle-aged man, politely
invited and explained what had happened that day.

The incident involved a male customer who ordered an ice cream coffee, but only received a regular
coffee. He asked a waitress to replace it, and she reluctantly did. However
, as soon as she turned around, she told another waitress that the customer had clearly ordered coffee. The customer overheard this and
immediately . The store manager had to personally apologize to calm the situation down,
but the customer was still not satisfied and complained directly to headquarters, demanding severe punishment for the female employee.

After listening, Wenlun asked Manager Nakata, "How has this female employee been in her work performance in the past?"

Manager Nakata nodded and said, "Not bad, but today's incident is..."

"I understand," Wenlun continued, "Is that female employee here now?" "Yes, she's still here. I'll call her in right away." A short while later, Manager Nakata entered

with a plump female employee . Wenlun sized her up and asked, "You're Mishima Kyoko?" "Yes." She nodded slightly, seemingly a little scared. "Manager Nakata has already explained the situation, but you must remember, for the sake of our company's reputation, under no circumstances should you offend a customer, not even by speaking ill of them behind their back. Your profile shows you've worked here for four years, right?" Hearing this, the female employee thought things were going badly and stammered, "Yes, yes..." Wenlun nodded. "Manager Nakata said you rarely make mistakes, and this is your first time. Since that's the case, I won't pursue it further, but you can't repeat it, understand?" The female employee felt relieved and kept saying "yes." Not being severely punished or fired was naturally something to be happy about. The two left the Ikebukuro branch around 7 PM. Wenlun suggested to Zhixian that they have dinner there before going home. Zhi Xian had no objections, so they wandered around the side streets of Higashi-Ikebukuro looking for a restaurant. They found a place called " Kojiro " and saw that there were more than ten people gathered in front of it, all waiting for a table. Wen Lun went over to take a look and found that it was a Japanese restaurant with Chinese flavors and very affordable said to Zhi Xian beside him, "Let's wait a bit, it looks pretty good." About thirty minutes later, they finally got a table. The two went inside and sat down, seeing that the walls were covered with pictures and prices. Wen Lun pointed to the dishes on the wall in Cantonese and began to chatter as he looked for food. Suddenly , a clear Cantonese accent rang out from beside them: "Why don't you two try our pan-fried dumplings? They're our signature dish." The two were slightly taken aback, simultaneously looking up at the person. They saw a young waiter in a pristine white kitchen uniform. Judging from the accent alone, the Japanese could never have spoken to such a high standard. Knowing they were both Chinese, Wenlun became curious and asked with a smile, "Are you also from Hong Kong?" "No, I'm an overseas Chinese student from mainland China, from Guangzhou, studying in Japan. Besides the chef, all the other staff in this restaurant are like me, all Chinese students studying in Japan," Wenlun said with a smile. "It's quite rare, isn't it? The whole restaurant is staffed by Chinese people, and from Guangzhou at that." The waiter laughed, "There's no other way. The Japanese don't want to work the night shift, so only us overseas Chinese students are willing to do it. The labor is cheap, and we work hard." Wenlun said, "That's true. Being in a foreign land, how can we survive without working hard?" The two ordered and were chatting when a familiar voice suddenly rang out from the side: "Two ministers are also eating here, what a coincidence!" The two looked up and saw it was Yangping. Zhixian smiled and said, "So you're here too. Are you alone?" "No, Ziwei is with me. We're sitting over there," Yangping pointed. Following the direction, they indeed saw Ziwei sitting there, politely nodding to the two.

Yangping said, "Since it's such a coincidence, why not just meet by chance? Why don't you two ministers come and sit with us?"

Wenlun quickly interjected, "No need, we're waiting for a friend. Maybe next time."

"In that case, I won't bother you any longer." He then returned to his seat.

Zhixian looked puzzled and asked Wenlun, "Are we having any other friends coming? Who is it?"

"How can you be so inconsiderate? They're out having fun as a couple; how can we be third wheels?"
He said , tilting his head back and taking a sip of Japanese beer.

Wenlun felt a little uncomfortable seeing the two of them together, but what could he do? Until today, Wenlun
could finally be certain that they were indeed in a romantic relationship, which also forced him to accept another fact:
he and Ziwei were definitely not meant to be. A few days later, Wenlun received an internal phone call. It was Yinyin, asking him to meet her at the corner coffee shop . As Wenlun entered the coffee shop, he saw Yinyin already sitting down. After sitting down, he ordered a coffee and said with a smile, "I was quite surprised to receive your call earlier." Yinyin pouted, "I wouldn't have had time to call you if I didn't need to talk to you about something." Wenlun was a little puzzled, "What is it?" "I have a personal question for you first. You have to tell me honestly before I can tell you." "A personal question?" Wenlun was even more confused, "Go ahead and tell me. If I can tell you, of course, no problem." Yinyin stared intently at him, looking extremely serious, and asked, "Do you have a girlfriend now?" "Oh, that's what you're asking." Wenlun immediately sat up straight, let out a sigh of relief, and asked with a smile, "Do you want to be my girlfriend?" "I'm serious, not joking. Answer me quickly." Yinyin glared at him. Wenlun smiled slightly: "Since you want to know, I might as well be frank. I have so many ordinary girlfriends that I can't even count them all. As for intimate girlfriends, I did have some in the past, but not now." Yinyin frowned, seemingly a little doubtful: "I don't believe it. With your qualities, how could you not have a girlfriend !" Wenlun said firmly: "I'm telling the truth. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do. But why are you asking this?" Yinyin didn't answer him, still staring at him intently, as if pondering the truth of his words. Just then, the waiter brought the coffee. Wenlun started adding sugar, asking, "I already told you, why aren't you saying anything? What 's going on?" "Remember, you said you'd ask Ziwei and me out for dinner. I told you to just tell her, did you?" Wenlun was taken aback, shaking his head. "I... I just arrived in Dongmaru, and I've been really busy with work lately. I was planning to ask you out sometime later." "I don't think that's what you really think. If I'm not mistaken, you're hesitant to tell Ziwei because she already has a boyfriend , and it's inconvenient to ask her out, right?" Wenlun couldn't deny it and nodded. "That's only part of it. The main reason is that I don't want Yangping to misunderstand and hurt their relationship." At this point, Yinyin finally smiled. "This time, I'm asking you seriously. You have to answer honestly and not tell a single lie." Wenlun felt increasingly strange and didn't understand why Yinyin was interrogating him like a criminal, constantly asking questions. She smiled slightly and asked, "What do you want to know now?" "I want to ask you, are you interested in Ziwei and want to pursue her?" "I..." Wenlun hadn't expected her to ask this and was momentarily at a loss for words . Finally, he mustered his courage and said, "I don't want to lie, it's true, but I didn't know she already had a boyfriend at the time, so..." Yinyin interrupted him before he could finish, "What if she didn't have a boyfriend?" Wenlun laughed, "Of course I'd be happy about that, but don't joke around. The facts are clear. Don't tell me Yangping isn't her boyfriend; I don't believe that!" "That's right, Yangping was indeed her boyfriend. Sigh! What should I say now! In short, Ziwei has never really liked him, and from today onwards, their relationship is completely severed. Do you understand what I mean?" Wenlun found it hard to believe: "This... how is this possible? I clearly... clearly saw them How could this be fake?" Yinyin stared at him and said, "You mean you saw them in Ikebukuro that day, right? But as far as I know, Ziwei took the initiative to meet him that day to confess her feelings and say she wanted to break up with him. Although Yangping pleaded many times, Ziwei's mind was made up, and she didn't care whether he agreed or not. In the past few days, she hasn't answered any of Yangping's calls ." Wenlun was a little taken aback: "Is that so? What happened between them?" "I can't tell you about that, because it's between the two of them. But I know Ziwei's feelings better . She's my cousin; we've known each other since childhood, and we even live together. We talk about everything. I believe I'm the one who understands her best." Wenlun's eyes flashed with a hint of inexplicable doubt as he asked, "You asked me out today because..." Yinyin sighed, "There's something I can tell you. Ziwei has been quite down these past few days, and even I'm worried about her! I asked her what was wrong, but she wouldn't say. Until last night, I couldn't bear to see her like that anymore, so I stayed with her all night, and that's when I found out it was all because of you." "Because of me!" Wenlun was greatly surprised. "Because of what? Did I do something to offend her?" "Don't be nervous, I didn't say you offended her." Yin Yin couldn't help but chuckle at his restless state. "Actually, my cousin is upset because you've been ignoring her, not even glancing at her . You know, I noticed she's been acting strange lately. Ever since she met , she's been sleeping with her Q-Taro every night. At first, I thought she just liked the plush toy , but then I realized that wasn't the case. Whenever we chatted and she mentioned you, Ziwei would suddenly perk up! That's when I knew she had feelings for you." Wen Lun became increasingly excited, his heart pounding. Yin Yin continued, "It's just that my cousin is always introverted and shy, and she doesn't dare to express herself to outsiders."

"That's all. But I know that although she doesn't really like Yangping, he is her boyfriend after all. Ziwei
is secretly worried about this from time to time. You can't possibly understand the pain she feels!"

Wenlun suddenly slapped his thigh and cursed, "I'm such an idiot, I deserve to be hit! Where is
Ziwei ? Even if Yangping is still her boyfriend, so what? As long as they're not married, I
have the right to pursue Ziwei. Is she at home? Tell me her phone number, I need to call her now."

Yinyin said, whether she was annoyed or amused, "Look at you, suddenly you're so anxious again."

Wenlun said anxiously, "Please, have mercy, I have a lot to say to her tonight, just tell me."

Yinyin held out her hand: "Lend me your cell phone."

Wenlun quickly took out the phone and handed it to her. Yinyin quickly dialed the number, and after a while, someone answered the phone:
"Is this Ziwei? I'm calling you using Minister Shen's phone. If you want to talk to him, call this number.
He's with me now, waiting for your call." She finished speaking in one breath.

Wenlun called out from the side, "Hey! Let me talk to Ziwei..." Yinyin ignored him, pressed a button,
and the call ended.

Yinyin said, "If she wants to talk to you, she'll call. Otherwise, you have no hope."
She then handed the phone back to him.

Wenlun took the phone, placed it on the table, and stared intently at it.

Time ticked by, five minutes, ten minutes, and the phone still hadn't rung. Wenlun began to feel uneasy,
his body like an ant on a griddle. He asked Yinyin, "Will she call? Should I call her?"

"Why are you in such a hurry? She'll call if she wants to. There's no use in rushing," Yinyin said calmly.

Wenlun's heart was pounding like a drum! Just then, the phone rang. Wenlun grabbed it
impatiently , "Hello, hello, is this Ziwei?"

There was complete silence on the other end. This made Wenlun anxious. "Is this Ziwei? It's
Wenlun! Please, please say something to me!"

Then a gentle, clear voice came through the phone: "This is Ziwei. Is Yinyin there? I want to talk to her."

"She is, but… but I want to talk to you first." Wenlun composed himself. "Ziwei, I want to see you.
I have a lot to say to you. Can you come out?"

"I…" After a moment of silence, Ziwei finally said, "Okay, where are you now?"

"Are you at home? I'll come find you!" Wenlun said exasperatedly, "I'll have Yinyin show you the way. Wait for
me, I'll be there soon."

"Tell Yinyin that I'll be at the Aishi Cafe near my house in half an hour."

"Okay, I'm coming right now. Aishi Cafe, right?"

"Okay! I'm hanging up now, see you later." Then there was complete silence; Ziwei had clearly hung up.

Yinyin smiled and asked, "Is Ziwei waiting for you at Aishi Cafe?"

"Yes, thank you so much this time, let's go now." Wenlun quickly picked up the bill on the table, but his
mind was already on Aishi Cafe.

□□□

Turning left from Aoyama Meiji Street, they entered a quiet side street and soon saw a
small wooden sign for Aishi Cafe. The two got out of the taxi, and Wenlun walked quickly towards the cafe entrance. Yinyin suddenly called out to
him from behind, "I'm not going, you go in by yourself."

Wenlun immediately stopped and turned back to ask, "Why? Can we go in together?"

"Sorry, I'm watching a TV series tonight. I'm currently watching it halfway through, and there are only three episodes left until the
finale, how can I not watch it? Sorry, I have to go home, bye-bye..." With a wave of her hand, she turned and left.

Wenlun panicked and rushed forward to grab her, clasping his hands together. "Please, please,
don't go! I know you're a very kind person, so I'll see it through to the end."

Yinyin looked up at him, frowning. "You're so clingy!
What does your meeting have to do with me? I don't want to be a third wheel, getting in your way!"

Wenlun pleaded. "Please, do me a favor. Ziwei will feel very awkward without you here."

Yinyin hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "That makes some sense. Considering your pitiful appearance, I
'll make an exception and sit with you two for a while. Let's go."

Wenlun was overjoyed. The two hurriedly pushed open the door and entered the coffee shop. They looked around and saw Ziwei
sitting alone against the wall, looking over at them. Yinyin waved to her, and the two quickly stepped forward.
Yinyin smiled and said, "You're here quite early. Are you eager to see our Minister Shen?"

"Don't talk nonsense. I just arrived too," Ziwei said softly, blushing.

The two ordered drinks, and the atmosphere suddenly became awkward. Although Wenlun and Ziwei were sitting facing each other, they
couldn't utter a single word for a moment. Ziwei lowered her head, looking at the drink in front of her, her face slightly flushed
, making her even more beautiful and charming.

Seeing this, Yin Yin shook her head repeatedly, "Sigh, I really don't know what to say! Look at the two of you,
one thinking about the other all day long, always sullen; the other, after receiving a phone call, is anxious and impatient, as if even a rocket
wouldn't be fast enough! Now that we've met, you're both silent, I really don't know what you're doing!"

Wen Lun was stunned for a moment before finally speaking, "I...I'm sorry, Yin Yin has already made things clear to me."

Hearing this, Zi Wei lowered her head even further, avoiding Wen Lun's gaze.

"Sigh!" Yin Yin couldn't bear to watch any longer and shook her head, sighing, "You, isn't that a redundant statement!
Since I came with you, even if Zi Wei is stupid, she knows I've made things clear to you. Why don't you just say it directly, 'I
like you so much, I've been thinking about you day and night since the day I met you.' Wouldn't that be more straightforward?"

Zi Wei blushed even more and glanced at her sideways.

Yin Yin's words made Wen Lun even more speechless! This was indeed a very awkward situation. He'd lived
so long, and he'd never said anything so cheesy in front of a girl.

"I, I..." The usually fluent Wenlun stammered, looking at Ziwei before him,
"I don't know how to say it..."

"If you don't know how to say it, then I'll say it for you, okay?" Yinyin glared at him, then leaned close to Ziwei's
ear: "This scoundrel, turns out he's just like you, playing the same game of love at first sight.
If I hadn't told him you and Yangping had broken up, he probably would never have dared to say a word to you. Alright,
I've said everything I needed to say. Looks like I'll just go home and watch some dramas."

Chapter 11:

Ziwei, hearing that Yinyin was leaving, refused to let her go and quickly said, "No... don't go!" Ziwei
grabbed her arm, "Stay with me a little longer."

Yinyin looked at Ziwei and smiled, "What's wrong with you now? I've already given you the opening remarks. Do you expect me to repeat
all the ?"

Wenlun, knowing Ziwei was shy, decided to change the subject and ease the awkward situation, saying:
"Yinyin, sit a while longer. I have some questions for you."

Yinyin sighed helplessly, plopped back into her chair, propped her chin on her hands, and glanced at
the two of them . "Just ask what you want to ask. I need to go back and watch TV."

Wenlun looked at the two beauties before him and slowly asked, "If I'm not mistaken, you two are both Taiwanese
expatriates, right?"

Yinyin shook her head. "Not entirely. Ziwei is purely Chinese. Her father is from Hong Kong,
and her mother is from Taiwan. My original name was Liang Zhiyin. Although my father is Chinese, he naturalized as a Japanese citizen a long time ago, so I am
a genuine Japanese."

"So you have Japanese citizenship, but what about Ziwei?"

"Although I am of Chinese descent, I am Japanese. Normally, people of Chinese descent living in Japan must change their
surname to Japanese, but thankfully my father kept his original surname. As for Ziwei, because she has a local Japanese guarantor,
she only has permanent residency in Japan. Since she hasn't naturalized as a Japanese citizen, her official status is still not Japanese. My
mother is Ziwei's mother's younger sister; Ziwei and I are cousins."

Wenlun nodded, indicating he understood, and then asked, "Did you all grow up in Japan?"

"Ziwei and I were both born in Japan." Yinyin frowned impatiently. "Have you finished asking?
Now it's my turn to ask you."

Wenlun smiled. "Go ahead and ask."

Yinyin rested her chin on her hand and asked, "I've seen your resumes. Is Minister Li really
the heir ?"

Wenlun nodded in agreement and explained his relationship with Zhixian to the two of them. Then he asked, "Have you
been working at Dongwan for a long time?"

Yinyin said, "We just finished high school when President Jinben introduced us to Dongwan. If I count on my fingers,
it's been almost two years."

Wenlun laughed. "So you were introduced by President Jinben. Zhixian and Jinben have known each other for a long time and
have a very close relationship. I didn't expect you two to be connected with him."

Yinyin nodded. "President Jinben is a good friend of my aunt. He often comes to our house."

"I see." Wenlun smiled in response. Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind, and he immediately thought of
Zhixian 's half-mother. Wenlun thought to himself, "Ziwei's surname is Li, her father is from Hong Kong, and her mother is good friends with Jinben.
Could it really be such a coincidence that Ziwei is..." He shook his head to calm himself down, but then thought
it was too much of a coincidence. He thought, "I don't believe it's as I think. This isn't a TV drama. How could things be
so coincidental? I think I should ask her clearly before making any decisions."

With that thought, Wenlun said to Ziwei, "Ziwei, could you tell me your parents' names?"

Yinyin frowned even more when she heard this. Ziwei was equally surprised by his question, but after a moment's thought,
she replied, "My father's name is Li Hao, and my mother's name is Luo Guifang."

"What?" Wenlun's ears suddenly went blank upon hearing her parents' names. He
widened his eyes , almost disbelieving his ears, then slapped his thigh and exclaimed, "That's wonderful! That's wonderful
!" He laughed, "So such a coincidence really exists..."

Ziwei and Yinyin were both puzzled, their eyes wide as they watched Wenlun's every move.

Yinyin, always impatient, frowned and asked, "What are you doing? Are you crazy?"

Wenlun didn't answer her, lost in thought: "Although Ziwei's father's name is Li Hao, it's
quite similar to Zhixian's father's name. Besides, her mother's name is completely correct. There's no way it could be false. Therefore, Ziwei's
mother is undoubtedly Zhixian's half-sister!" Wenlun never expected that the Ziwei before him was actually Zhixian
's half-sister.

Without delay, Wenlun immediately took out his mobile phone, hurriedly dialed a number, and after a while, he said to Zhixian,
"Zhixian, I have something important to tell you. Come over right away. Write down the address now..." He asked
Yinyin the correct address of the coffee shop and then told Zhixian the address.

Yin Yin couldn't hold back any longer: "Why did you call Minister Li here?"

"Of course, I have my reasons." Then he asked Zi Wei, "Is your father also in Japan?"

Zi Wei shook her head: "My father passed away not long after I was born."

Wen Lun asked, "Is this what your mother said?"

Zi Wei nodded again. Yin Yin asked from the side, "You're so strange. It's only our first meeting, and you're already investigating
her family history like this. What's going on?"

Wen Lun smiled and said to Yin Yin, "Stay a little longer. Let me ask Zi Wei first." Turning to
Zi Wei, he said, "Do you still miss your father?"

Without thinking, Zi Wei nodded quickly: "Of course I miss him, but he's gone. What's the point of missing him now!"

Wen Lun stretched out his middle finger and waved it in front of Zi Wei's eyes: "You're wrong. If I'm not mistaken, your father is not only
still alive, but he will meet you soon."

"What!" Zi Wei and Yin Yin were stunned, their cherry lips parted, and after a long while,
Zi Wei , "You... what did you say?"

"Your father's original name should be Li Zhanhao, that is, Minister Li's father." He then recounted Li Zhanhao's
past to the two of them.

After Wenlun finished speaking, Ziwei was stunned. She simply couldn't believe her ears. Perhaps things
had come too suddenly, because Ziwei couldn't utter a single word.

But Yinyin's reaction was completely different. She immediately said, "After hearing what you've said, it seems there's no doubt about it.
It turns out that President Jinben already knew everything, but he just didn't tell Ziwei's father."

Wenlun agreed wholeheartedly, saying, "Perhaps Aunt didn't want Zhixian's father to know, so she instructed Jinben
not to tell anyone."

"What should we do now? Should we inform Aunt?" Yinyin asked, resting her chin on her hand.

"No!" Wenlun quickly said, "Let's wait for Zhixian to arrive first, and then discuss it carefully."

Thirty minutes later, Zhixian finally pushed open the door and walked in. He immediately saw them. The three of them were looking
down , seemingly engrossed in their conversation. Even when he approached the table, the three of them didn't notice.

"What are you all talking about, so enthusiastically?" Zhi Xian tapped the table, and everyone immediately looked up.

Wen Lun, seeing Zhi Xian, immediately pulled him to sit beside him, pointing at Zi Wei across from them, and asked, "Do you
know who she is?"

Zhi Xian smiled, "Of course I know! If I don't even know the Flower of Dongwan, am I even human?!"

"It's not just that," Wen Lun leaned closer and said, "She's your half-sister, Li Zi Wei."

"Wh...what?" Zhi Xian almost jumped up, first looking at Wen Lun, then at Zi Wei, his face full
of suspicion . "You...you're not joking with me, are you?"

Wen Lun said, "Do I look like I'm joking with you? Even if I were, I wouldn't bring this up!"

"What do you mean? Are you really my sister?" Zhi Xian leaned forward, looking at Zi Wei and asking.

"I don't know, maybe!" Zi Wei wasn't sure, but in her heart she had already accepted it.

Wen Lun then repeated what everyone had been discussing, and with everything matching so perfectly, Zhi
Xian had no choice but to believe it. Zhixian was overjoyed and said, "This is great! If Father knew, I don't know how
happy ! Ziwei, do you know that Father has been looking for you two for more than ten years? During this time,
Father has never stopped searching, and his only thought is to find you."

Upon hearing this, Ziwei couldn't help but shed tears. Yinyin smiled and said, "Ziwei, you should be happy, why
are you crying?"

Zhixian reached for the bill and said, "Let's go find Mom now, Ziwei, what do you think?"

"That's not a good idea!" Wenlun immediately said, "Since Auntie is trying to avoid Uncle, if she finds out beforehand,
it will only alert her. To put it bluntly, Auntie might use other methods to avoid us, and then all our efforts will
be wasted."

"That's right, you're absolutely right." Yinyin nodded and said, "We definitely shouldn't let Auntie know for now."

Zhixian asked Ziwei, "Ziwei, what do you think?"

"Brother, why don't you talk to Dad first and see what he thinks? What do you say?" Ziwei's address
warmed Zhixian's heart. He was originally the only son in the family, and suddenly he had such a lovely and beautiful younger sister.
He was overjoyed.

"Alright, tomorrow's Sunday, everyone's off work. Let's come to my house tomorrow and discuss it properly."

Wenlun was naturally happy; how could he pass up this opportunity to meet Ziwei? He quickly said, "Zhixian's suggestion
is excellent. I'll pick you up early tomorrow morning."

Seeing Wenlun's happy expression, Yinyin naturally understood his intentions and immediately covered her mouth and giggled.

□□□

The next morning, Wenlun arrived at the McDonald's on Zhuxia Street, the place he had arranged to meet Ziwei the night before.

Today, Wenlun didn't sit inside the store, but rather on a white beach chair outside McDonald's,
holding a cup of Coke, looking at the crowd before him, and the young men and women who were all dressed up and looked the same.
Most of the men wore studded leather jackets, their hair dyed blonde in a rooster-like style, while the women wore long blonde hair, short
skirts that barely covered their hips, seven- to eight-inch high-heeled boots, plus dark brown foundation, white eyeliner, and blue eyeshadow—they looked exactly like
dirty barbie dolls.

Zhuxia Street is only about 400 meters long. Most of the shops are not high-end boutiques, but
rather small fashion stores, jewelry stores, and small shops. But don't underestimate them, because there's a great chance
you'll find a "treasure" and get an unexpected surprise.

Wenlun waited for about ten minutes, and then he saw a pure and beautiful
girl . She had long, straight, smooth hair that swayed slightly behind her in the cold wind,
making her look like a fairy descending to earth. Ziwei had finally appeared.

"Have you been here long?" Ziwei came up to Wenlun and smiled slightly. After talking last night, she
was no longer so shy in front of Wenlun.

"I just arrived too. Oh! Why didn't Yinyin come with you?" Wenlun looked around.

Ziwei said, "She said she had something to do this morning and will go by herself in a bit."

Wenlun nodded and hummed in agreement, but then became puzzled, "But how does Yinyin know my home address?"

Ziwei smiled and said, "Have you forgotten her position? All the employee information for Dongwan
can be obtained immediately with a simple press of the computer in the interrogation center. Besides, she already asked my brother last night, so how could she not know?"

Wenlun suddenly realized that seeing her call Zhixian "brother," it seemed she had already accepted him. He then bought
Ziwei a hamburger, and the two chatted and laughed, their feelings for each other taking another
step forward without them even realizing it.

The hamburger and cola were long gone, but Wenlun still didn't want to leave. Ziwei said, "We should get going too.
Brother's waiting at home."

How could Wenlun let go of this opportunity to have a date with Ziwei alone? He immediately said, "It's still early. It's a rare holiday
today . Why don't you walk around the neighborhood with me for a while before we go back?"

Ziwei saw his expression and understood his intention. She smiled and asked, "Where do you want to go?"

Wenlun pondered for a moment, "Just around this corner is the Yasukuni Shrine. Every time I pass by, I just
walk past the shrine and never go inside. How about we go there this time?"

Ziwei seemed quite agreeable and nodded, giving him a sweet smile.

The two walked out of Takeshita Street and, after a short while, Wenlun took her hand. Ziwei didn't refuse; she
just looked up at him and let him hold it.

Yasukuni Shrine was indeed a wonderful place for a stroll. Ancient trees surrounded it, their dense foliage casting deep shadows, and
the buildings were simple yet elegant. Today seemed to be an auspicious day; the two walked a short distance from the shrine
and happened upon a wedding ceremony. The newlyweds, dressed in traditional Japanese wedding attire—the groom in black
, the bride in white—held a red umbrella, their procession moving slowly and strikingly beautiful.

The two stopped, completely captivated by the sight. Only after watching the couple enter the shrine did they
leave hand in hand. Wenlun remarked as they walked, "I never imagined the scenery here could be so beautiful. In the past, whenever I passed by
Yasukuni Shrine , I always felt uncomfortable, even a strong sense of aversion, so I never
went inside."

"What do you feel aversion to?" Ziwei, like a docile kitten, wrapped her arms around Wenlun's arm,
nestled against him, and asked softly.

Wen Lun immediately felt a sweet fragrance wafting from Ziwei, which refreshed him. Especially striking was the sight of Ziwei's full, firm
breasts, pressed tightly against his arm; their softness and fullness stirred endless fantasies within him.
Wenlun was intoxicated, and his penis began to stir restlessly.

Ziwei, completely unaware of her allure, remained tightly embracing Wenlun's arm. With each step she took, her full
breasts pressed against him, allowing Wenlun to clearly feel her softness.

Wen Lun was startled and quickly composed himself, forcibly suppressing his burning desire. He thought to himself, "
Ziwei is not only beautiful and charming, but she also has such a great figure. I wonder if she and Yangping have slept together and
thoroughly explored her body? Oh well, even if that's the case, there's nothing I can do. In this day and age, it
's not . Besides, Ziwei is so outstanding, how could he let her go so easily!"

Seeing that he suddenly fell silent, Ziwei asked again, "What exactly do you find objectionable? Is it about the Japanese
invasion of ?"

Wen Lun immediately sobered up at her question and nodded, "That's precisely the reason. The most
ruthless warlord in Japan, Tojo, is buried here. Every time I pass by, I feel a sense of disgust."

Ziwei sympathized, "It's no wonder you feel that way. As a Chinese person, who wouldn't hate him?

" Lun continued, "Whenever I think of the Nanjing Massacre, my blood rushes to my head. The memory of them
throwing babies into the air and killing them with bayonets, the countless Chinese heads falling to the ground, and the Asahi
Shimbun 's headlines about killing contests—all so excessive and cruel—makes my heart feel like
it's about to explode!"

Ziwei looked up at him, her beautiful eyes wide. "It seems you don't have much affection for the Japanese, right
?"

Wen Lun replied, "You can't say that. Foreigners' fascination with Japanese things and culture is mostly a
transitional phase. Indeed, there's much we can learn from Japan, but the Japanese mindset still harbors
many crises. For example, their actions of revising textbooks are something we should pay attention to. I dare say to myself,
I am definitely not a blindly pro-Japanese follower." It was

n't

until the afternoon that Wenlun and Ziwei returned to their residence in Xixinjing. Even outside the gate, they heard Zhixian
shouting , "Hey! Don't come any closer! Go away, go away..."

The two exchanged a glance, both wondering what was happening inside. Wenlun, not daring to delay,
immediately took out his key and opened the door. He saw Yinyin holding a snow-white Pekingese dog, chasing after Zhixian,
shouting, "I'm going to make 'Little White' bite you! Let's see where you run!"

"What on earth happened?" Ziwei stared blankly at the scene before her.

Wenlun watched the two chasing each other with his arms crossed, a slight smile playing on his lips. He already knew what was
going on . Hearing Ziwei's words, he said, "Your older brother is usually fearless, but he has only
one fatal weakness: he's terrified of anything furry. Whether it's a cat, dog, rat, or even a chicken, he
's scared to death."

Ziwei covered her mouth and laughed, "That...that's very strange. How could someone so tall and imposing be
so timid?"

"There are many things you can't tell from appearances!" Wenlun said with a smile.

As soon as Zhixian saw the two return, he was overjoyed and rushed over to hide behind Wenlun, saying, "Quick...quick,
shield me! This girl is trying to murder me!"

Yinyin glared at him angrily, pointing her finger and shouting, "What did you say? I'll kill you right now!" As she
cursed, she charged forward.

Wenlun spread his arms to stop her: "Yinyin, are you really going to scare him to the point of having a heart attack?"

Yinyin pointed at Zhixian and said, "You be the judge, why can people come into this house but dogs can't?
What kind of logic is that?"

Ziwei stepped forward: "Yinyin, give me 'Xiaobai'." She took Xiaobai and turned to Wenlun:
"Is there a place for it here? So it doesn't run around."

Wenlun thought for a moment and nodded: "There's a small space at the back of the house, come with me."

They walked through the dining room to the back of the house, and at the end, they saw a white wooden door. Pushing it open, they
found a small open space about ten feet square, surrounded by a six-foot-high wall. To the left of the door, there was
a washing machine, obviously used for drying clothes.

Ziwei put Xiaobai down and let it roam around. Xiaobai seemed very satisfied with this little space,
sniffing and jumping around, appearing unusually lively.

Wenlun and Ziwei returned to the living room and saw the two sitting on opposite sides of the sofa, staring at each other, ready
to explode at any moment.

Fearing another fight was about to break out, Wenlun gave Ziwei several meaningful glances before sitting down between them, separating
them . Wenlun asked Zhixian, "Did you call Uncle?"

Zhixian nodded, "I called home this morning, but Dad wasn't there. Butler Ma said he had important business in
America and wouldn't be back for more than ten days. I tried calling Dad's cell phone, but I couldn't get through."

Wenlun lowered his head in thought, "So even if we could notify Uncle now, he might not be able to get back immediately
. It seems we shouldn't act rashly. We should wait until Uncle comes to Japan and then arrange for them to meet.
What do you all think?"

"That's exactly what I was planning," Zhixian said. "Ziwei, you absolutely mustn't let Mother know about this, or
Jinben. If they find out, our plan will be ruined."

Ziwei also wanted to see her parents reconcile, so she naturally nodded in agreement.

A few days passed in the blink of an eye. Zhi Xian had contacted his father. When Li Zhanhao learned of this, he was
extremely excited and said he would come to Japan to meet them as soon as possible, but he still had important business to attend to and could not
confirm the exact date.

Wen Lun and Zi Wei had been meeting up after work every day for several days in a row. Even their colleagues at the company
felt that the two were dating. Of course, the happiest person in the company was Yang Ping. With Wen Lun's
appearance , he immediately lost Zi Wei, so how could he not be angry?

That evening, the two went to a Japanese restaurant called "Huang" in Roppongi for dinner. The restaurant was designed quite
strangely, giving people the feeling of being in a bamboo forest. On the walls of the restaurant, there were some antique hanging pots,
as well as straw raincoats and bamboo hats, which were very special.

Ziwei introduced ten different kinds of wild mountain vegetables, all served in small dishes. After that,
there was grilled pigeon and quail. The sake, a favorite of the Japanese, was served in bamboo tubes and poured into bamboo cups.
Ziwei also mentioned that many foreigners who are not used to Japanese food like to come here to try it.

It was only a little before nine o'clock after dinner. Since Ziwei was staying in Harajuku, she needed to take the Hibiya Line to Ebisu Station
to transfer . As they exited the station, Wenlun seemed reluctant to part with Ziwei, saying, "Shall we walk a little further?"

Ziwei glanced at her watch, saw it was still early, and nodded.

Wenlun saw a pachinko parlor not far ahead and pointed, saying, "Shall we go in and play for a while?"

Ziwei laughed, "That's Japanese stuff. Do you even know how to play?"

Wenlun just smiled; in truth, he had absolutely no interest in it. He never understood
what was so captivating about it that could make the Japanese so crazy about it.
