[Fantasy] Immortal Cultivation of the Heart (Complete) - 19-21

Chapter Five: Granny Tianshan

At midnight, Li Se quietly got up, dressed, and went out. Hearing no movement from Hua Ruxue's room, he felt relieved.

He had worried that Hua Ruxue, knowing he was going to visit Wang Bao'er late at night, would insist on following him, but she was sleeping soundly, which pleased him. However, the thought of managing his relationship with Bao'er, how to make her happy and comfort her, filled him with worry again.

Li Se carefully avoided the guards of the Wang residence, remembering the time he was caught by Wang Laocai during his tryst with Wang Bao'er, making him even more cautious!

But the closer he got to Tianxiang Pavilion, the more worried he became, afraid of upsetting Wang Bao'er. But if he didn't go to see her, they might not see each other again in the future, and making her worry would only make her more heartbroken.

Li Se crept forward listlessly, when suddenly he heard a cold laugh behind him. Startled, Li Se knew something was wrong and quickly turned to attack, simultaneously retreating.

But the person was like a ghost, drifting close to Li Se. Li Se's arm was only halfway extended when he was paralyzed. He heard a cold, clear voice beside him say, "Shameless little thief."

Li Se saw an old woman before him. Her cold face, illuminated by the moonlight, was particularly frightening. Her hair was completely white, but her face had very few wrinkles. Li Se knew she was definitely not young, but he couldn't tell her actual age.

Seeing her cold expression and intimidated by her imposing presence, Li Se, if not for being unable to speak due to his pressure points being sealed, would have shouted, "Who are you?! Why are you grabbing me?"

The old woman glared fiercely at Li Se, then grabbed him as if lifting a baby, and flew away like a large bird.

Li Se saw the trees and houses around him recede with lightning speed, not knowing where she was being taken. However, judging from the situation, she was definitely not from the Wang family.

He felt both annoyed and confused, thinking, "Could this old woman have mistaken me for someone else? I don't know her, why is she grabbing me?"

He didn't know how much time had passed when he suddenly felt a pain in his buttocks. He had been thrown hard to the ground, but thankfully, the pressure points had been released.

Li Se quickly stood up and shouted, "Grandma, I don't know you! Why are you arresting me? Have you mistaken me for someone else?" She thought to herself, "I hope this fierce old woman doesn't recognize me."

But the old woman sneered, "Aren't you Li Se, that lecherous scoundrel? How could I mistake you! Though I'm old, I'm not senile."

Li Se stared in disbelief, stunned for a long time before struggling to say, "I...I...you really recognize me? I'm no lecherous scoundrel! Grandma must have misunderstood."

The old woman snorted, "So it's my fault? Then why did you go to a girl's residence late at night? Were you planning something good?"

Li Se saw that although she spoke with a smile, a murderous aura emanated from her, and a chill ran through her.

But going to meet Wang Bao'er late at night was truly hard to explain, so he blurted out, "Yes! Yes! I wanted to comfort my sister Wang Bao'er and say goodbye to her because I had to go home!"

The old woman, instead of being angry, laughed and scrutinized Li Se. Then her eyes narrowed, and she said coldly, "How strange! You, you rascal, are not good-looking, and your speech is incoherent. You're quite stupid. How could Ru Xue be so infatuated with you? It's truly baffling!"

Hearing this, Li Se exclaimed happily, "Grandma, so you've come to see Miss Hua Ru Xue! That's wonderful! My wife and I haven't mistreated her! Why don't we go back immediately, and you can take her away?" "Actually, I was always worried she had no relatives! Turns out she knows you, I wonder what your relationship is!"

Li Se was secretly pleased, but the more she spoke, the more the old woman's face darkened. She thought, "Can't I ask what their relationship is? That's right! Oh no, Miss Hua is a fox spirit, she might be some kind of spirit in disguise, so I can't ask! Oh no, how rude!"

The old woman became even angrier upon hearing this, and finally couldn't hold back any longer. She suddenly reached out and slapped Li Se across the face, angrily shouting, "You lecherous thief, shameless dog! How could my disciple have fallen for you, let alone be bewitched by you and lose her virginity!"

Seeing the old woman's fierce slap, Li Se instinctively dodged. The old woman, not expecting Li Se to dare dodge, became even angrier and was about to strike again.

But then Li Se exclaimed with delight, "Ah! Granny, I know! You're Leng Ruxue's master, aren't you? Haha, how has she been? I miss her so much! It's so good to see you!"

The old woman cursed, "Miss my foot! You have countless girls to miss."

The old woman continued her attack on Li Se, this time with more refined moves than before.

Li Se had only just learned that this old woman was Granny Tianshan, Leng Ruxue's master. Seeing her extraordinary martial arts skills, she knew that even if she could dodge a few moves, she would ultimately be defeated. Besides, she had been incredibly foolish earlier, making wild guesses and greatly offending her, making her extremely angry. Therefore, she dared not dodge anymore, fearing to offend her even more. Since she was Leng Ruxue's master, Li Se assumed that she wouldn't mistreat her.

Li Se was subdued by Granny Tianshan and then received several solid slaps, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.

Li Se said, "Grandma, it was my fault. You've vented your anger, so please stop now and let me explain!"

Grandma Tianshan stopped, angrily saying, "Explain what? You're just full of sweet talk. I won't kill you, though. Let's see what tricks you have up your sleeve to escape my grasp."

Li Se said, "Grandma, although I've wronged Xue'er, I'll treat her well from now on, don't worry. If you're angry, I'll apologize. You can hit me or scold me as you please! If I can make amends, I'd be willing to die!" He thought to himself, "I've done something wrong, I'll definitely find a way to make amends. If I can be with Xue'er, I'll treat her well! Alas, this is my fate!"

Grandma Tianshan sneered, "Grandma? You call yourself that! You look ordinary, not very smart, and a bit silly! How could you possibly deceive my Xue'er's heart! It's truly strange!" "My Xue'er has been taught by me for nearly twenty years. Even if her martial arts skills aren't superb, her intelligence is also considerable. She's grown into a fairy-like beauty, yet she actually fell for you, a lecherous thief, and even fell into your hands! It's unbelievable!"

Li Se blushed and said, "No, absolutely not! I was sincere towards her; I didn't deceive her."

Granny Tianshan sneered, "What sincerity? Don't you have a wife? I traveled a thousand miles to find out what kind of person could steal my beloved disciple Hongwan and break her power. But upon seeing her, I was greatly disappointed!"

Li Se blushed and murmured, "Am I... am I really that bad? I didn't want this to happen! It's fate, it must be fate!"

Granny Tianshan ignored him and continued, "Xue'er was in the prime of her life; it's understandable that she was moved and lost her virginity to you, a lecherous thief. But why, after returning to Tianshan, did she still think of you despite my repeated persuasion?"

"That's fine! She's still young, and it's understandable that she's caught up in love. But it just so happens that a traitor in our sect wanted to defect from Tianshan and even plotted to eliminate me and seize control of Tianshan. After I captured him, who knew that Xue'er would plead for him, saying that killing is a bad thing and that we should act with benevolence and righteousness, asking me to spare his life. She actually had such a foolish idea, which truly shocks me! I want to see what kind of person has made her so confused, and what abilities they have. I haven't left Tianshan for many years, and today I've traveled thousands of miles to come here for this very purpose. Unfortunately, you have disappointed me greatly!" After saying this, she looked at Li Se with a cold and icy gaze, her killing intent soaring to the sky.

Li Se was shocked, frightened, and somewhat confused by Granny Tianshan's words. After a moment's thought, she sighed, "Granny, what's good about killing? The martial world is a dog-eat-dog world, all about vying for fame and fortune. Wouldn't it be better if everyone could take a step back? Some people do bad things because they have their own reasons. If we can be magnanimous and allow them to correct their mistakes, isn't that better than ruthless extermination? I killed someone before, and I regret it terribly now. Take me for example! I did something wrong, I'm sorry to Xue'er, I want to correct it. Can't you give me a chance, Granny? I promise to treat her well from now on, don't worry."

Granny Tianshan looked at Li Se with disbelief and said, "You still want to be so lenient?" " You think you can just let me off? I'm not like that silly girl. Besides, you men are incredibly stupid. You think that just because you've taken Xue'er's body, I'll be afraid to kill you?"

She continued, "You're wrong! There are plenty of stinking men in the world. Killing one of you is nothing. Women aren't born to be bullied by you men. If you have nothing else to say, you'll be buried on this hill." Then she looked around and said, "This sparsely populated hill is full of streams and has quite a nice view. If you die here, those wild animals without food will thank you! You're such a good person..." " Would you be willing to do such a good deed?"

Li Se sighed. "Why bother? If you kill me, will Xue'er really be happy?"

Granny Tianshan coldly replied, "Her happiness is none of your concern. Little thief, do you have anything else to say?"

Li Se was startled, thinking, "Yes! When I killed Flower Butterfly, no matter how he explained, I wouldn't have let him go. Now I'm trapped in this situation, I can't let Granny spare me no matter what! I only regret what happened back then!"

Li Se sighed, knowing that the crisis was insurmountable, and said, "Are you determined to kill me?"

Granny Tianshan's eyes narrowed, and she said, "That's right, you cannot be spared."

Li Se He said, “Very well, Xue’er, you will certainly take care of her, so I don’t need to say anything more. I’m sorry to him, I can only repay him by being his servant in the next life. But, could you please pass on a message to my wife, Xiangjun, and tell her that after I die, she shouldn’t be sad. Life is about birth and death, so let her be open-minded. We have no children, so please ask her to find a good man and marry him! She doesn’t need to worry about me anymore! Please be sure to convey these words.” After

Li Se finished speaking, she suddenly felt a pang of sadness, thinking, “Am I really going to have to say goodbye to Xiangjun forever? In the end, I couldn’t escape this day!” Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

Granny Tianshan was dumbfounded, never expecting that Li Se would give up on life so quickly, and that she would be so heartbroken.

After glaring at Li Se for a long time, Granny Tianshan roared, "Fine, you dare to play the victim with me! Trying to deceive me, thinking I'm a soft-hearted person? Go reincarnate! I'll release your pressure points and show you your true skills, I'll let you die in peace!"

After releasing Li Se's pressure points, Granny Tianshan struck Li Se's head with a palm. Li Se knew that

Granny Tianshan's martial arts were far superior to his own, and resistance was futile. Most importantly, he had no will to live, so he didn't dodge, closed his eyes, and awaited death. Granny Tianshan was about to finish off Li Se when, at this critical moment, two delicate voices cried out simultaneously, "Stop!" "Granny, no!"

At that moment, the bright moon shone in the sky, illuminating the surroundings. A flying sword, gleaming in the moonlight, shot straight at Granny Tianshan. Granny Tianshan took a step back, her left sleeve suddenly extending three feet, and with a flick of her wrist, the flying sword deviated from its target, circled in the air, and returned to someone's hand.

At this moment, a young girl had already rushed to Granny Tianshan's side, reaching out to grab Granny Tianshan's right arm, pleading, "Granny! Please spare him. Take your anger out on me."

Li Se, heartbroken, was bewildered when suddenly the Jade Maiden of Tianshan, Leng Ruxue, appeared before him. Seeing her beautiful features and charming figure, her current sorrowful appearance was incredibly moving. Coupled with the fact that they hadn't seen each other for many days and he missed her terribly, he blurted out, "Little Xue'er, I see you again! I missed you so much, I..."

Suddenly, a cold gaze shot towards him, and remembering his current situation, he stopped speaking.

Just then, he felt a pair of small hands pull him back a few steps. Startled, he turned around and saw that it was Hua Ruxue, only then remembering that it was her flying sword that had saved him.

Before Li Se could thank her, Hua Ruxue said, "Who is this old woman? She's so fierce! Didn't that pretty lady used to live in your house?"

Before Li Se could answer, Granny Tianshan said, "Little Xue, you saw it too. This little thief has betrayed your heart and has another woman. I told you long ago there are no good men in the world, do you believe me now?" Leng

Ruxue pleaded, "Granny is right, but please don't kill him! Let him go first, we'll talk about it later." Hua

Ruxue said, "Hmph, you old hag, what business is it of yours who someone else likes? Is it because you've been abandoned that you want to kill someone? You deserve it, who told you to be so ugly! Even if I were a man, I wouldn't want you!"

Granny Tianshan's face changed drastically, and a flash of red light appeared on her face before disappearing. Leng Ruxue was shocked. She knew that her master was always extremely aloof, and the martial arts they practiced were extremely cold and sinister, so her master's face was never bloodless. Who knew that just now a flash of red light had appeared, it seemed that she must have fainted from anger.

Originally, her master doted on her the most. Because she disobeyed his orders, first ensuring the Tianshan Sect didn't separate from the Six Sects, and then having an affair with Li Se, her master, though furious upon her return to Tianshan, didn't kill her.

She figured if she pleaded with her master now, he wouldn't truly kill Li Se. But who knew this ignorant girl had angered her master? She didn't care much about the girl's life or death, but if her lover was implicated, that would be terrible.

Seeing her master's anger, Leng Ruxue, anxious and furious, shouted, "Bah! You shameless girl! Not only are you pestering my Li Lang, but you've also offended my master! Get out of here!" With that, she raised her sword and stabbed at Hua Ruxue.

Leng Ruxue, besides Li Se and Yang Yingyun, didn't care about anyone else. If it weren't for Li Se's advice to stop killing, she would have definitely wanted to kill Hua Ruxue by now.

Hua Ruxue was initially startled, dodging several feet back before bursting into fury. "You wicked woman! How dare you be so shrewish! Do you think I'm easy to bully? Take this!" she cried, raising her hand and unleashing her flying sword.

Before Li Se could react, the two women were locked in combat.

Leng Ruxue had initially only wanted to drive Hua Ruxue away to avoid angering her master. However, Hua Ruxue not only refused to leave but also launched a fierce flying sword attack, which truly enraged Leng Ruxue.

Moreover, flying swords were not easy to deal with and could not be taken lightly. Therefore, Leng Ruxue gathered her energy, first deflecting the flying sword with her own, then reaching out with her left hand towards the nearby stream. A stream of water shot towards her; strangely, despite it being summer, the water was like a thin sheet, clinging to her left palm and forming a large block of ice.

Leng Ruxue flicked her left hand, sending the ice flying towards Hua Ruxue. Hua Ruxue was shocked and quickly flicked out a ball of flame, which struck the ice block, causing it to melt into water and fall to the ground. At the same time, she retrieved her flying sword, leaped up, and the sword multiplied into two, wielding both swords simultaneously to fight Leng Ruxue.

It turned out that Hua Ruxue, seeing Leng Ruxue's extreme power, dared not be careless and expend energy, keeping only her swords by her side to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. She wanted to engage Leng Ruxue in close combat to prevent her from using her previous technique. However, this meant they were fighting in close combat, unable to use magic.

Li Se, seeing the two women locked in a fierce battle, quickly shouted, "Stop! Stop it! Why are you fighting? It would be terrible if you got hurt! We're all on the same side!"

Suddenly, the cold voice of Granny Tianshan came from behind: "Who's on the same side as you? You lecherous thief, if you were dead, they wouldn't need to fight."

When Li Se looked back, he saw Granny Tianshan, like a ghost, flying down from the sky under the bright moonlight. Her hands, like giant claws, reached for his head; the atmosphere was eerie and her aura invincible, giving him an overwhelming sense of resistance.

Li Se hurriedly retreated, but he had no way to deal with this calamity, and his unsettled mind further diminished his martial arts skills.

Just as Li Se was about to be caught off guard and was gritting his teeth, preparing to fight back desperately, he suddenly saw two sword lights fly past him, heading straight for Granny Tianshan. Granny Tianshan roared, "Heh heh, you two silly girls, you really stood up for that lecherous scoundrel. Fine, I'll deal with you first, then kill that lecherous scoundrel, so you can have peace of mind."

Hua Ruxue, while attacking, retorted, "You're the lecherous scoundrel! My young master isn't!"

Leng Ruxue, who was helping Hua Ruxue defend herself, said, "Hey, you stupid girl, don't make up stories about Granny Tianshan."

Hua Ruxue glared at her and said, "You're the stupid one! If it weren't for Li Lang, I'd kill you right now and see who's the stupid one!"

Leng Ruxue retorted angrily, "You're not stupid? I could have asked my master..." "Father released Li Lang. If it weren't for your interference, why would my master be so angry?"

Granny Tianshan sneered. "Xiao Xue, give up that idea! No matter what, I'm going to kill this brat today. Don't waste your time."

Leng Ruxue was originally furious with Hua Ruxue, her face frosty, but upon hearing her master's words, she quickly pleaded, "Granny... you love me the most, please spare him..."

Granny Tianshan ignored Leng Ruxue, only using her sleeves to unleash several fierce bursts of true energy, forcing the two girls to frantically parry, and Leng Ruxue couldn't continue speaking.

Seeing that her master was truly resolute, and sensing that her master really intended to kill Li Se, Leng Ruxue no longer harbored any illusions about begging her to spare Li Se.

From a young age, Leng Ruxue had noticed that every time she called her master "Granny," she was very happy, and her requests were always granted. Originally, her master's nickname was "Grandma Tianshan," but within the Tianshan Sect, calling her "Grandma" to her face was a privilege reserved only for Leng Ruxue; others addressed her behind her back.

Grandma Tianshan had always treated her differently since childhood, strict yet genuinely caring. Even this time, when she broke the sect rules and had an affair with Li Se, her master hadn't killed her.

But now, despite her pleading with her master and calling her "Grandma" countless times, Grandma Tianshan remained unmoved. It seemed she was truly enraged this time.

Thinking this, Leng Ruxue, who had initially only used two or three-tenths of her martial arts, now intensified her power.

Grandma Tianshan sneered, "Yes, that's right! If you want to save this brat's life, defeat me. If you want me to spare him, forget it. Xue'er, I've raised you for so many years; today, let's see what you're capable of!" She then

showed no mercy, and both women simultaneously sensed something amiss, feeling a sudden increase in pressure.

The two women had no time for petty arguments and immediately unleashed their full power to fight Granny Tianshan.

Granny Tianshan said, "Hurry up and use your ultimate moves! Otherwise, don't blame me for showing no mercy."

The three fought together, with Granny Tianshan using only her sleeves to fight the two women. Although she moved with ease amidst the sword light, it seemed that defeating them would not be easy.

In the blink of an eye, the three had exchanged hundreds of blows.

Li Se watched the three fight from the sidelines, wanting to help but unable to do so, and was extremely anxious.

Suddenly, Granny Tianshan used a brilliant move, forcing the two women to retreat a few steps. Then, Granny Tianshan flew back several feet in mid-air, suddenly grabbing wildly with both palms, instantly causing water droplets to swirl around her.

Leng Ruxue was shocked and cried out, "Little girl, quickly use your flying sword to stab her!"

Hua Ruxue refused to listen to Leng Ruxue, shouting, "Why should I listen to you..."

Before she could finish speaking, two streams of clear water flew towards Granny Tianshan's palms, then condensed into two ice balls the size of small mountains. The ice balls continued to grow larger, using the same technique as Leng Ruxue, but with far greater power.

Hua Ruxue screamed in fright, simultaneously understanding why Leng Ruxue had told her to release her flying sword. With a thought, she launched her flying sword at Granny Tianshan. This strike, with its immense power and ferocity, was Hua Ruxue's most powerful attack since leaving the mountain.

But it was too late. Granny Tianshan's arms trembled, and the two icebergs flew towards them, not only knocking the flying sword away mid-air but also continuing their trajectory. Hua Ruxue, startled, couldn't dodge and quickly recited an incantation, attaching herself to one of the icebergs and flying a considerable distance before landing.

Hua Ruxue landed, her face pale with fright. Looking up, she saw Leng Ruxue using some unknown skill, her body soaring into the air, hovering there as well. Then, she unleashed a burst of true energy from her hands, forcefully blocking the large iceberg hurtling towards her and instead attacking Granny Tianshan.

Granny Tianshan shouted, "Good child, all these years of nurturing you haven't been in vain; your skills are quite good. It's a pity you've encountered your master!"

Before Granny Tianshan could finish speaking, she extended her sleeves, unleashing a surge of true energy. The iceberg suddenly stopped in mid-air, then shattered under the combined force of the two bursts of energy, scattering ice fragments in all directions. Leng Ruxue, being slightly less skilled, was forced to fall from the sky by the residual force of Granny Tianshan.

Li Se, who had been watching anxiously, was shocked and immediately flew to catch Leng Ruxue. However, the moment his arm touched her, Leng Ruxue used the force to spin him in the air, landing and lifting Li Se up. Li Se was thrown backward.

Leng Ruxue said, "My lord, hurry up and leave! I'll explain to Granny Tianshan slowly!"

Hua Ruxue, who was just beside Li Se, grabbed him and ran before he could react.

Li Se said, "What are you doing? Xiaoxue is still there!"

Hua Ruxue wouldn't listen to him and dragged him along for a long time before stopping to catch her breath, saying, "Wow, that old hag is so powerful, I can't beat her."

Li Se also stopped and said sadly, "Yes! Her martial arts are really powerful! I didn't expect the Tianshan Sect to have such powerful martial arts!" He thought of Leng Ruxue in his heart: "Grandma Tianshan's martial arts are so powerful, and she's also preventing Ruxue and me from reuniting. It seems there will be many twists and turns in the future."

Seeing Li Se's pale face, Hua Ruxue said, "Don't be afraid, let me rest for a while, and then I'll use my magic to fly you back to the city, then you won't have to be afraid!"

Hua Ruxue's magic power was much weaker because she had just recovered from her injury and had used her magic continuously.

Li Se was taken aback and said, "Afraid? Sigh, I'm not afraid! I hate that I'm useless and need your help. Don't you hate me? My martial arts are so weak! I always trouble you to save me!"

Hua Ruxue was confused, staring with her beautiful eyes. Just as she was about to say, "I like you so much!"

she suddenly heard a cold laugh from not far away, followed by someone saying, "I deliberately let you go so that my precious Xue'er wouldn't have to see you die and be heartbroken. But that little girl didn't use any escape magic, which saved me some effort!"

Hua Ruxue was startled and turned around to see that it was Granny Tianshan. She quickly grabbed Li Se, concentrated, and chanted a spell. But before she could finish, she felt a cold current in her chest, and a chill suddenly ran through the summer night. Knowing something was wrong, she quickly dodged. In that case, there was no time to use any magic!

Upon first hearing Granny Tianshan's voice, Li Se was startled. Seeing Hua Ruxue being attacked, he quickly intervened, throwing a punch straight at Granny Tianshan's face.

Granny Tianshan gracefully retreated, laughing, "I didn't expect you, this scoundrel, to have such a formidable air."

Li Se grinned, but Granny Tianshan, though expressionless, felt a chill run down her spine.

At this moment, Hua Ruxue also flew over to help Li Se fight, instantly turning the situation into a two-on-one battle against Granny Tianshan. However, Li Se's martial arts skills were far inferior to Leng Ruxue's at this point. Even with Hua Ruxue's combined efforts, they were quickly overwhelmed.

The powerful Granny Tianshan said, "Little girl, run! I don't want to kill you. Although you spoke rudely, I'll spare you this time because of your youth and ignorance. If you know what's good for you, leave quickly, don't force me to kill you."

Hua Ruxue didn't answer her, but shouted to Li Se, "Young master, run! I have a plan to escape." With that, her attack changed instantly; the knife in her hand transformed into hundreds of hidden weapons, shooting towards Granny Tianshan.

Granny Tianshan had already seen that Hua Ruxue's magic was nothing special, and that she could easily handle her. However, she still didn't dare to be careless; to be defeated by a junior would be a huge loss of face. She retreated, simultaneously channeling her inner energy to create a barrier in front of her. The flying knives, upon reaching her, fell as if hitting a wall.

Seeing this, Li Se didn't hesitate, instantly making a judgment and turning to flee.

Li Se, a descendant of the Sword Master, though his martial arts were broken, possessed unparalleled insight, so he naturally wouldn't lose his inner strength along with it.

He saw that Granny Tianshan's skill was profound; the two were no match for each other. Although Hua Ruxue knew some magic, unless one was a deity, in a direct confrontation, a truly powerful martial arts master would be far superior to a magic user.

Magic's value lies in its unpredictability, catching the opponent off guard, or even stealing their soul; it can never be compared to martial arts in a straightforward manner!

Li Se understood this, and thus made a decisive move: he immediately fled. He had initially been hesitant to escape due to a lack of opportunity and his bad mood, but now that he had a golden opportunity, he naturally wouldn't let it slip by. Most importantly, he knew Hua Ruxue's magic was quite good; although she couldn't defeat others, escape was her forte.

Seeing Li Se's swift reaction, Hua Ruxue was delighted, thinking, "Wow! I was worried that my lord wouldn't see the situation clearly and would miss the opportunity! I didn't expect him to be so clever, leaving as soon as he said he would, seizing the best moment. Even his escape was so clean and efficient, so graceful and free, truly amazing!"

Hua Ruxue was pleased, and her magic flowed even more smoothly, with throwing knives continuously shooting towards Granny Tianshan. However, Hua Ruxue was ultimately inexperienced, and wanting to buy more time for Li Se, she didn't intend to escape quickly.

But her unrestrained attack on Granny Tianshan infuriated her. In her rage, and having seen through Hua Ruxue's limitations after some time, Granny Tianshan roared. She stretched out, gathering all her true energy, her body like a steel cone, and pounced forward, shouting, "Girl, prepare to die!"

Hua Ruxue had never fought against a martial arts master before, lacking experience, and assumed Granny Tianshan was incapable of retaliating! By the time she realized something was wrong, it was too late to escape. She hurriedly chanted incantations to defend herself, but she was still a step too slow. Granny Tianshan struck her in the chest with a palm strike, sending her flying through the air, spitting out a mouthful of blood mid-air.

Seeing Hua Ruxue fall to the ground, Granny Tianshan, in a fit of rage, wanted to finish her off with another move. But before she could make a move, she suddenly heard a soft voice say, "Miss Yue, it's been several years. Is your health alright?"

Granny Tianshan quickly turned around and saw a tall, elegant man standing there, looking at her with an arrogant expression. She hadn't even noticed when he had arrived.

Chapter Six: The Beauty in the Empty Valley

. Li Se, in the darkness, panicked and ran aimlessly, choosing only desolate places to escape. She traversed mountains and valleys, crossed springs and waterfalls, until dawn, when she realized she was lost, in the middle of nowhere, not knowing where she was.

Li Se stopped, partly to rest, and partly to see which way to go. Here, the mountains are connected, and he has already run a long way, so he figured Granny Tianshan wouldn't be able to catch him. However, he couldn't be careless; choosing a good place where she couldn't find him was the best course of action.

Li Se saw clouds swirling among the deep valleys and secluded forests, and distant peaks appearing and disappearing as if they were floating in the void. The surrounding peaks were verdant, and spiritual springs and pools were scattered like stars, with caves and springs interwoven throughout. He had no idea where he was.

A thought suddenly struck Li Se: "The scenery here is much more beautiful than Lanfeng Mountain! If I could hide in these mountains to cultivate, that would be good."

But then he remembered he was still being chased! Besides, the faces of Gu Xiangjun and Leng Ruxue appeared in his mind, and he still didn't know if Leng Ruxue or Hua Ruxue were alive or dead! Although he figured Granny Tianshan wouldn't do anything to the two girls, he was still worried about them.

Li Se sighed, thinking, "I'm not the same person I used to be. How could I have such an absurd idea? It's ridiculous! I'll hide for a while, until Xiaoxue's master calms down and leaves, then I'll go back." With that thought, he looked around to decide where to go.

In the distance, Li Se saw smoke rising from a valley. He thought, "There must be houses there. I'll go check it out, buy some food, and then hide."

Li Se followed the direction and saw a large forest ahead, densely packed with trees, the entrance nowhere in sight. He chose a direction and hurried for several miles, but all he saw was a dense forest. Upon closer inspection, he realized he hadn't left the same spot; he was just circling around.

Li Se was startled, thinking, "There's something strange about this place."

He examined it carefully and discovered that some master had designed a formation based on the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams. Anyone who didn't know the method couldn't enter and could only go in circles.

Li Se, having been taught these formations by Chuan Ying, had some knowledge of them. Driven by curiosity, he decided to venture into the forest to see for himself and began to ponder how to break the formation.

As a disciple of the Sword Master, this powerful formation was no challenge for him. After a while, he finally understood its intricacies and entered through the escape door.

However, having received instruction from Zhu Wushuang, Li Se discovered some restrictions within the formation. While not as powerful as those in the Inviting Moon Pavilion, they were still considerable. Following the steps Zhu Wushuang had taught him, he avoided triggering the restrictions and made his way through the forest.

Emerging from the forest, he found a path leading to another grove of plum trees, now in full bloom.

Most of these plum trees appeared to be hundreds of years old, the smallest being at least two arm spans thick. Some had ancient, gnarled trunks, while others possessed unique and elegant forms. Some had wildly spreading branches and snow-like blossoms; others had twisted trunks and solitary, beautiful buds. The plum blossoms were in full bloom, each with its own unique beauty and charm, all possessing a captivating allure.

Li Se was utterly dumbfounded. It was summer, not the season for plum blossoms. Had Li Se not witnessed the scene with his own eyes, he would never have believed it, no matter who told him.

Li Se paused for a moment, thinking, "When I met the Flower Girl, she also used illusions to deceive me. Could what I'm seeing now also be an illusion? Are there monsters here? Or perhaps a hermit lives here?"

Curiosity arose within Li Se, and though he felt a little afraid, he still quietly entered the grove to see for himself. Li Se cautiously entered the plum grove, and as he walked, he suddenly heard a clear shout from ahead. Li Se quickly crept forward, and through the dense branches, he saw a strange sight.

Amidst the blossoms, he saw a woman dressed in purple, her face veiled, her jade-like fingers lightly moving, as if performing some kind of incantation. With a flick of her wrist, the fallen blossoms from hundreds of plum trees instantly transformed into countless butterflies, fluttering upwards. Following the speed of the woman's fingers, they danced in the air like snow waves returning to the mountains, a sea of fragrance and

light. Li Se was astonished, bewildered by this superior magic. He saw a riot of blossoms, all the trees immersed in a fragrant ocean. Some plum branches, now only half-formed, stood tall amidst the floral waves, swirling and shimmering, creating a magnificent and breathtaking spectacle.

The woman in this floral sea was like a fairy descending to earth; though her face was obscured, her beauty was indescribable.

Li Se was mesmerized, completely captivated, when suddenly the woman pointed and shouted, "Hmph!"

The countless plum blossoms instantly surged up like a tidal wave, splitting into countless rushing torrents of flowers that surged towards a massive boulder. Pushed by the waves of blossoms, the boulder sank into the ground, causing the soil to churn and rise to the surface. The flowers were buried along with the boulder until they were no longer visible. Only then did the woman withdraw her hand. With a deft flick of her fingers, the soil itself piled up where the flowers had been buried, forming a raised mound of blossoms.

Only then did the woman stop, and with light, graceful steps, she vanished.

Li Se stared in disbelief, too ashamed to utter a sound. She thought, "If she could shatter the boulder with flowers, that would be one thing, but to bury it deep in the ground—such masterful magic! Who is she? And why is she veiled in this deep mountain valley? Could it be… that she knows someone is watching her?"

Li Se pondered for a long time, but to no avail. Finally, an idea struck her. "I'm doing this openly and honestly, what am I afraid of? I'll just ask for some food and find out where the restroom is. I don't need to worry about anything else. Besides, that woman has delicate features and an extraordinary air about her; she's probably not a bad person."

Having made up her mind, Li Se felt much more at ease. She stopped hiding, emerged from the large tree where she had been hiding, and walked proudly in the direction the woman had disappeared.

After walking for a while, Li Se emerged from the plum grove and saw three thatched cottages standing against the mountainside, surrounded by blooming flowers of vibrant colors—a truly beautiful sight. Having grown accustomed to grand mansions in the capital, Li Se felt a refreshing coolness at the sight of this simple thatched hut. Knowing it must be the woman's dwelling, he hesitated no longer and walked towards it.

Li Se gently knocked on the wooden door and called out, "Excuse me, is anyone home?" He thought, "I wonder how many people live here, but I reckon the woman isn't alone!"

As he called out, Li Se saw the woman emerge from the house. The wooden door was very low, merely for show. Perhaps because this place was so remote and seldom visited, the door was only chest-high, much like those in some remote mountain villages.

The woman's face was still veiled as she walked lightly to the door. She was slender, elegant, and her hair was like mist, exuding extraordinary charm. Although her face was obscured, it added to her mystique. In this secluded valley, she seemed like a celestial being from another world. Li Se, recalling the woman's magical powers in the plum grove, was completely mesmerized.

The woman arrived at the door, her eyes like autumn water, gazing at Li Se for a long while before saying, "Young master, this is a remote mountain village. I was unaware of your presence. What can I do for you?"

Li Se was taken aback by her clear, melodious voice, which was captivating. He then said, "Miss, I'm lost. I saw the smoke rising from the chimneys and came here. Could you sell me some food? If it's not too much trouble, could you please tell me where this place is and where the way out is?"

The woman sneered, "You went through all that trouble to get through my Bagua Formation, only to come here to ask for directions? That's quite strange! Come up with another excuse!"

Li Se was stunned, scratching his head. "I certainly wouldn't dare to lie to you, Miss, but... but I am curious. I saw your formation outside and wanted to come in to see what kind of master lived here in seclusion. I even witnessed your amazing magic in the plum grove just now! Tsk tsk, Miss, you are truly remarkable!"

Li Se recalled the woman's amazing magic; it seemed she was even more powerful than Hua Ruxue. Although her face was veiled, obscuring her features, her demeanor, voice, and posture suggested she wasn't very old. Such a young girl possessing such profound cultivation was truly admirable.

Li Se was amazed and curious, and couldn't help but ask, "Miss, what kind of magic do you use? This place is so beautiful, a perfect place for cultivation! No wonder your cultivation is so high. Who taught you your magic? Who is in your family? Hehe, I know, your master taught you, right?"

Li Se was overjoyed to have met such a highly skilled girl deep in the mountains, as if his martial arts had been restored, returning him to his former self during his mountain cultivation. He completely forgot about being chased and excitedly chattered on and on.

After a while, seeing the girl remain silent, he realized his rudeness in asking so many questions was impolite, and his rambling was annoying.

He saw the woman tilting her head, staring at him coldly. Although her face was veiled, obscuring her expression, it was unlikely to be pleasant.

Li Se snapped out of his daze, feeling extremely embarrassed, and quickly changed his words, saying, "Ah! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ask, please don't take it personally! I was just asking casually, it was absolutely not meant to offend you, please forgive me, young lady." He then bowed respectfully.

The woman merely stared coldly at Li Se, ignoring him, but her mind was racing.

It turned out that this woman's surname was Chu, her given name was Liuguang, and she was only eighteen years old. She had grown up in these mountains since childhood, living with her mother.

This mountain was no ordinary peak; it was Maoshan, a famous Taoist mountain once hailed as "the abode of immortals of the Qin and Han dynasties, the home of prime ministers of the Liang and Tang dynasties." Maoshan was 120 li from the capital, Yingtian, and Li Se had somehow arrived here overnight.

Maoshan was renowned for its beautiful scenery and spiritual energy, attracting many Taoist practitioners. Starting in the Jin Dynasty, the Three Mao True Lords established the Maoshan Sect, and from then on, the Maoshan Sect became famous throughout the land. The leaders of the Maoshan Sect throughout history were all granted the title of Celestial Master by successive emperors, a total of forty-five generations until the end of the Yuan Dynasty.

During the Ming Dynasty, because the Maoshan Sect aided the Yuan Dynasty in its resistance against the Ming court, and because some villains emerged and wreaked havoc on the martial arts world, the leaders of the Maoshan Sect were no longer granted the title of Celestial Master. Furthermore, the sect was besieged by martial arts figures, suffering heavy losses. Apart from a few disciples who lived in seclusion on Maoshan Mountain, the remaining true disciples almost disappeared from the martial arts world.

However, more than twenty years ago, a highly talented Taoist priest emerged from the Maoshan Sect. It is said that he was a descendant of Yang Xi, the second-generation Xuan Master of the Maoshan Sect, named Yang Qi. He obtained the true essence of the Shangqing Secret Manual of the Maoshan Sect, possessing profound Taoist skills, and thus wished to revive the prestige of the Maoshan Sect. However, at the age of thirty, he met a remarkable woman named Chu Lizhen. The two fell in love and married (Taoist priests are generally allowed to marry), and had a daughter, Chu Liuguang.

When Chu Liuguang was three years old, Yang Qi did something to betray Chu Lizhen, causing the couple to fall out. In a fit of anger, Chu Lizhen took the Maoshan Sect's ultimate martial art, the "Shangqing Secret Manual," and took Chu Liuguang to live in seclusion in a valley in Maoshan. This valley was located about six miles northwest of the main peak of Maoshan, Sanmao Peak, and was named Yugang Peak because of the lush pine trees on the peak. Chu Lizhen placed a restriction at the entrance of the valley, cutting off contact with outsiders, especially members of the Maoshan Sect.

Yang Qi was filled with remorse when his wife left him in anger, but despite his repeated apologies, Chu Lizhen remained stubborn and refused to forgive him. Yang Qi had no choice but to let Chu Lizhen live alone, only ordering the Maoshan Sect disciples not to disturb her.

Slowly, fifteen years passed in this way. In the spring, Yang Qi suddenly fell seriously ill and died. Chu Lizhen, for reasons unknown, also passed away two months later. Chu Liuguang lost two loved ones within a year.

Chu Liuguang knew that the Maoshan Sect's prized treasure, the "Shangqing Secret Manual," was in her possession. Now that her parents had passed away, the Maoshan Sect would certainly not let her go, especially her father's junior brother, the Taoist Wuyong, who had long coveted it. Previously, he had been too intimidated by his mother's magic to come, but now that his mother had been dead for a month, it was time for him to seize it.

Chu Liuguang had learned many extraordinary arts from her mother since childhood. Because she loved flowers and plants, she had set up a protective barrier in the nearby plum grove, preventing wild beasts and birds from trampling it, and using other magical techniques to allow the plum blossoms to bloom year-round.

That day, while patrolling the valley, Chu Liuguang noticed someone breaking through the barrier and assumed it was someone from the Maoshan Sect trying to steal the treasure. However, upon seeing that the newcomer was an unfamiliar young man, Chu Liuguang realized that after passing through the outermost Five Elements and Eight Trigrams formation, he was about to enter.

Seeing that he wasn't from the Maoshan Sect and was most likely being used by Wuyong, Chu Liuguang couldn't bear to harm him. He removed the restrictions in the plum grove, only using his supernatural powers within it to make him back down and not be used by the thieving Taoist Wuyong for no reason. But to his

surprise, the man showed no remorse and still barged in.

"Hmph! What a fool! He dares to bully me because I'm young and a girl, thinking I'm easy to fool? He thinks he can trick me into coming in? Well then, I'll show you what I'm capable of!" Chu Liuguang thought to himself with a cold laugh, and said, "Are you here to ask for some food, to inquire about directions, or do you have another purpose?"

Seeing that the girl had finally spoken, Li Se quickly replied, "No, no. Although I'm very curious about the formation you set up, my main purpose is to ask for directions and get some food. If it's convenient for you, miss, I'll sell you..." "Give me some food! I have some silver on me, I'm not taking your things for nothing."

Chu Liuguang said, "You're lying. Since you said you wanted to ask for directions, you obviously don't know where this place is, right? But how did you get into these mountains? Were you being chased and you ran away in a panic?"

Li Se said, "Yes, yes! You guessed right."

Chu Liuguang sneered, "So, there were two Taoist priests chasing you!"

Li Se blushed and said, "Taoist priests? No, not at all."

Seeing this, Chu Liuguang's mind raced, and he mocked, "Then..." You must have seduced someone else's girl, so you were hunted down! Are the people chasing you the girl's family?

Li Se was stunned, his face turned redder, and he wanted to deny it, but it was really the case, so he couldn't help but smile bitterly: "Young lady, you are joking, but...but there is indeed some connection, you...how do you know?"

Chu Liuguang said disdainfully: "This is not something difficult to guess!" Well, even if what you said is true, but you can break my formation, your martial arts must be quite strong when you come here. With your skills, it is not difficult to hunt some wild animals and get some wild fruits in the mountains. Why do you need to come to my place to find food?

Li Se opened his mouth wide in surprise, and murmured: "Yes!" I never thought that I grew up in the mountains. Alas, I am so accustomed to living a luxurious and leisurely life that I have forgotten everything! I don’t even know how to hunt anymore, I just want to eat good food, ready-made food. Feeling very sad, he raised his hands and said to Chu Liuguang: "Girl, I'm sorry!" Excuse me. "

After Li Se finished speaking, he turned around and left. His heart was in a trance and his steps became heavy.

Seeing the young man's strange expression and unusual reaction after she spoke a few words, Chu Liuguang, despite her profound wisdom, quickly grasped some of his character, but not everything. Besides, this was the first time she'd seen such a peculiar person, so she wasn't about to let him go. A plan formed in her mind.

She said softly, "Please wait, sir."

Li Se stopped, turned around, and asked, bewildered, "What else do you need, Miss?"

Chu Liuguang opened the wooden gate, walked to Li Se, and bowed, saying, "My name is Chu Liuguang. I apologize for my earlier rudeness. May I ask your honorable name?"

Li Se replied, "You're too kind, Miss. My name is Li Se. I was being ridiculous and disturbing you. I'll take my leave now." He then turned to leave again.

Chu Liuguang hurriedly said, "Wait a minute, since you're here, won't you come and sit down at my house? Otherwise, I'll seem like an uncouth wild girl, which is not what I want."

Li Se thought to herself, "Although I can't see your face, judging from your demeanor, you must be an unparalleled beauty. How could you be a wild girl? Although your words are sharp, they all make a lot of sense!" Li Se couldn't think of a reason to refuse, so she thought, "Since she's invited me, I'll go and sit down."

Chapter Seven: A Treacherous Path

Li Se entered the house, and Chu Liuguang served her tea. Li Se saw that although the house was simple, it was very clean, but the furnishings were strange, with some unfamiliar items that she didn't know what they were for.

Chu Liuguang said, "Young Master Li, didn't you want to know where this place is? I'll tell you. This is Yugang Peak of Maoshan, do you understand now?"

Li Se exclaimed in surprise, "What? I ran over a hundred miles overnight? Ah! So this is Maoshan, no wonder the scenery is so beautiful and imbued with celestial energy." After saying that, he glanced at Chu Liuguang and added, "No wonder someone with such high magical power as Miss Chu could emerge from here. It's not surprising. So you are a descendant of the Maoshan Sect."

Chu Liuguang felt extremely uncomfortable upon hearing this and couldn't help but feel secretly angry. The Maoshan Sect had a bad reputation in the martial arts world, and besides, Chu Liuguang had been taught by her mother, Chu Lizhen, since childhood that she hated the people of the Maoshan Sect the most. How could she not feel resentful upon hearing Li Se speak of her like this?

Chu Liuguang thought to himself, "What a scoundrel! Judging from your expression and demeanor, and from your tone, I know you're being chased because of a woman. You're a lecherous fellow! I wanted to kill you, but seeing that you still have some shame, your heart isn't completely evil, so I decided to spare your life, only punishing you for trespassing in my house. But you dare to speak so recklessly! Let's see how I deal with you!"

Thinking this, Chu Liuguang said calmly, "I'm not from the Maoshan Sect, and my magic power isn't high. You flatter me, young master. Didn't you want some food? I'll go prepare it now. Please rest for a while." With that, he left the house.

Li Se, though sometimes quite childish and often making fools of herself, was always unintentional and actually quite clever. Seeing Chu Liuguang's indifferent expression and somewhat displeased look, she knew she had offended her. She recalled how she had spoken recklessly from the beginning, leaving a very bad impression on Chu Liuguang. If it weren't for Chu Liuguang's kind heart and understanding nature, she probably would have been driven away long ago.

Li Se was very grateful and thought he couldn't upset her again.

Accustomed to city life and abundant food, Li Se hadn't thought of hunting or gathering wild fruits when he first arrived in the mountains. Although he remembered now, he couldn't refuse the invitation to dinner and leave immediately, so he waited patiently.

Fortunately, after a short while, the girl brought out several plates of food, all covered with gauze. When the gauze was lifted, a strange smell wafted out. Li Se was startled; the food was bizarre and unusual, unlike anything he had ever seen since leaving the mountains.

Seeing Li Se staring blankly at the food, Chu Liuguang inwardly scoffed, saying, "Young master, please eat! We're just country folk; we can't make anything good. It's all just wild game, please make do with it!"

Li Se remained dazed. After a long while, Chu Liuguang exclaimed with delight, clapping his hands, "Wow, Miss Chu, where did you get all these precious things? Ah! You're such a kind girl, so generous and kind-hearted!"

Li Se then pointed to the food on the table, saying, "This dish, shaped like chives but bluish-green, is called Zhu Yu. Eating it will keep you full for seven or eight days. And this fish? It's called Bone Fish. It's shaped like a snake but has four legs. It's delicious and a rare delicacy. Don't be fooled by its dark color; it looks intimidating, but it's actually quite delicious." "Get up! I guarantee I won't want to touch any other food for days. And this phoenix chicken, it tastes bitter and sour at first, but the more you eat, the more flavorful and addictive it becomes... These foods are all produced in remote or dangerous places, and are not easy to obtain, so they are very precious. Your hospitality makes me feel ashamed! I only have some silver on me, but even if I had more silver, it would be nothing compared to your precious delicacies. How can I repay your kindness? As the saying goes, one should not accept undeserved gifts, please tell me!"

Chu Liuguang was stunned. She had originally intended to use some strange things to tease Li Se, making him afraid to eat, leaving him to starve while looking at the food, embarrassing him. She didn't expect Li Se to recognize these strange things and know their origins.

She had cultivated the Purification Technique since childhood and had also learned the art of mind reading. Not only was she skilled at observing people's expressions, but she was also proficient in everything.

She was exceptionally talented and intelligent. Under her mother's tutelage, she quickly grasped the essence of astronomy, geography, the Heavenly Book of He Luo, and human relationships with just a slight exposure. Having undergone the marrow-cleansing rituals of these arts, she possessed profound knowledge.

However, upon meeting Li Se, she noticed he was slightly different from those she had encountered before, and knew she needed to reassess him. Although Chu Liuguang was intelligent, she was still young and rarely ventured out of the mountains, thus her experience was limited. However, she learned quickly whenever she encountered something new.

Chu Liuguang thought, "I almost fell for it. This guy knows everything; he must have been hired by that scoundrel Taoist priest to deal with me. Why would Wu Yong use an ordinary person to deal with me? It's laughable that I was initially deceived by his appearance! This guy seems to be a formidable opponent."

Chu Liuguang was wary, but said calmly, "Young master, there's no need for such formalities. In this remote valley, we rarely have guests. A distinguished guest like you is someone I couldn't invite even if I wanted to, so how could I not treat you well? Besides, these wild game, which you consider rare, are plentiful in our deep mountains and valleys! They're nothing special."

Li Se said, "No, absolutely not! These are definitely not ordinary things. You are a celestial being, extraordinary beyond the mundane. What you consider ordinary is a treasure to us ordinary mortals!"

Chu Liuguang said, "Young master, you flatter me so much, but I'm just a young girl ." "Alright. Just enjoy your meal. Do you really think you owe such a huge debt of gratitude for a single meal?"

Li Se said, "What you say makes sense, but it's only natural to repay a debt of gratitude tenfold! I will remember your kindness."

Chu Liuguang said frankly, "Oh? You're trying to fool me! Do you think I'm some ignorant country bumpkin? Han Xin of the Han Dynasty was saved from a meal because of it. My treatment of you is completely different. Whether you eat or not, it's just a change of pace. If you're truly grateful and insist on repaying this favor, you can simply repay me with a meal later."

Li Se smiled and said, "Alright, I..." "I'll give you ten thousand meals."

Chu Liuguang was furious, thinking, "What a scoundrel! How rude! Do you expect me to support you? I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget." But he said aloud, "Alright, it's settled then. Please have dinner, young master!"

Li Se said, "Thank you so much. With so much food, please invite your family to join us!"

Chu Liuguang thought, "Don't you know my situation? If my mother were here, would I dare send you?" He said, "I have no family. My mother passed away a month ago; she is my only relative!"

Li Se exclaimed in surprise, "What?" She quickly stood up and said, "Miss Chu, I'm so sorry to have reminded you of..." Sad things. But please have your condolences. Your aunt's spirit in heaven will definitely wish you well. Only if you are happy will she feel at ease. "

Chu Liuguang was originally calm, but after hearing Li Se's words, he couldn't help being surprised and thought to himself: "This guy is really good at comforting people. "Thank you for your concern," he said. But there is no need to say this, please eat! "

Seeing that Chu Liuguang didn't want to continue talking, Li Se knew that she didn't like this topic, so he hurriedly said: "Yes, yes, I'm hungry too, eat, eat. Girl, please eat some too!

Chu Liuguang said: "I ate some food, but I didn't want to eat anymore for a few days."

Li Se said: "Then I won't be polite." "

Chu Liuguang nodded slightly.

Li Se had just learned about Chu Liuguang's life experience. Although the food on the table was full of precious food and he was very hungry, he slowly only ate a little food and stopped eating.

Li Se said: "Girl, I'm full. Thanks for the hospitality, girl. "

Chu Liuguang said: "You're welcome. "

Li Se saw Chu Liuguang, a girl living alone in the valley, and her only relative had just passed away. Although she possessed extraordinary abilities, she might still suffer greatly. He should comfort her and cheer her up.

However, unsure what to say, seeing Chu Liuguang's veil, he casually asked, "Miss Chu, why do you always wear a veil? Is it because you don't want others to see your unparalleled beauty?"

Chu Liuguang replied, "The opposite is true. I'm afraid I'm too ugly and will frighten others. You men are all particularly interested in women's appearances, aren't you? And the more you can't see, the more you want to see?"

Li Se was taken aback and said, "Perhaps! But appearance is innate, a gift from one's parents, how can one abandon it?! Miss, you're overthinking it. There are far more ugly than beautiful people in the world. If everyone thought like you just now, there would be countless people wearing veils. Besides, with your graceful demeanor, to say you're ugly is an understatement!"

Chu Liuguang said, "All your talk is just to see what I look like. Just say it directly, no need to beat around the bush." With that, she removed her veil.

Li Se deeply regretted saying the wrong thing again and didn't know how to make amends. She saw that Chu Liuguang had revealed most of her face, except for her left cheek, which was still covered.

But even this was enough to reveal her unparalleled beauty. She was graceful and radiant, her complexion shimmering, lightly powdered—far more beautiful than ordinary. Her eyebrows were like distant green peaks, like clouds of green, utterly alluring.

Although Li Se was used to seeing beautiful women, she was still stunned. Most importantly, Li Se didn't know what to do and stared blankly at Chu Liuguang, at a loss.

Seeing Li Se staring blankly, Chu Liuguang felt a surge of contempt and said, "Have you seen enough?"

Without waiting for Li Se's reply, she suddenly pulled off the veil covering her left cheek, revealing a shocking red birthmark. The contrast between her exquisite beauty and this unsightly scar was striking.

Caught off guard, Li Se was also shocked and cried out in surprise.

Chu Liuguang sneered, "What, are you scared?"

Li Se snapped out of her daze and awkwardly said, "I'm sorry, I absolutely didn't mean to mock you, young lady. Why bother about your appearance? Virtue comes first, appearance is secondary. Wu Yan was the ugliest woman in history, but she was also the most virtuous woman. You are kind-hearted and virtuous. We are complete strangers, yet you have treated me with such courtesy, for which I am very grateful. I just didn't know what to say, so I casually asked, which you took to heart."

Chu Liuguang said, "Is that so? But I think you're wrong. What about appearance?" "Not important? Otherwise, when I was young and living outside the mountains, why did so many people mock my appearance? I hated them so much, I wanted to kill them all!"

Li Se stammered, "You...you? Killed so many people?"

Chu Liuguang said, "I was still young then, and didn't go on a killing spree, but it's not too late to start now. Hmm, let's start from today."

Li Se breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "Miss Chu, you remind me of a story. Guo Ziyi, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty, was a man who didn't care about formalities. When a minister named Lu Qi came to visit, he unusually ordered his wives and concubines to avoid him. Afterwards, someone asked him why..." "Why is that?" he said. "Lu Qi is ugly and wicked. My wives and concubines will laugh when they see him. He will hold a grudge and seek revenge. Once he gains power, he will exterminate my clan." "Miss Chu, if you think like that, you'll be just as narrow-minded as Lu Qi!"

Chu Liuguang thought to herself, "What a fool! I'm going to use you as an example today, and you don't even realize it, yet you still want to mock me. Fine, let you say as much as you want before you die!" She said calmly, "So what if I can see things clearly?"

Li Se said, "Actually, once you understand, it's nothing! Even heaven and earth never cease, and the sun and moon wax and wane. How much more so can everything in this mortal world be perfect?" "Is that so? Young lady, you possess both talent and virtue, with many gifts unmatched by most. Some vulgar people only see your physical flaws, yet they don't understand the envy they feel for your talent, virtue, and extraordinary abilities. They are merely foolish people; is it worth getting angry about? Besides, you are actually absolutely beautiful, but Heaven is jealous of you, which is why you have this imperfection. However, since ancient times, beautiful women have often had tragic fates; those who are perfect are bound to attract Heaven's jealousy. Now that you have this imperfection, you will surely have great fortune in the future. Although I cannot read faces, I believe that the red mark on your face is a mark of good fortune!"

Chu Liuguang was speechless upon hearing Li Se's words. Although she was exceptionally intelligent, she was blinded by her own limited perspective and thought very little about her own affairs. Hearing Li Se's words, Chu Liuguang felt as if he had discovered a whole new world. He thought, "Could it be... could the mark on my face be my mother's..."

His mind was in turmoil, and he remained stunned for a long time. When he came to his senses, he heard Li Se still saying, "Most people in the world are mediocre. If we take everything to heart, wouldn't we be driven crazy? I've been thinking about these things a lot these days, and I've gained some insights. I used to always argue with mediocre people, which made me very angry. But why bother? We just need to blend in with the world, not care about other people's opinions, act naturally, and be content with our lot!"

Hearing Li Se's words, Chu Liuguang was suddenly moved. He thought to himself, "This man is indeed formidable; he's hit the nail on the head, which makes me extremely happy. He's undoubtedly someone Wuyong sent to deal with me, otherwise, how could I have encountered such a clever person! It's truly frightening to find such a powerful figure in the world."

Thinking this, Chu Liuguang quickly came up with a plan and smiled, "Brother Li, thank you for your guidance! I've benefited greatly and feel much better now. If I could often listen to your teachings, I don't know how many principles I would learn! Would you be able to stay at my house for a few more days?" Seeing Chu Liuguang's happiness, Li Se beamed and said, "

Thank you for your praise, Miss. Seeing you happy makes me content! I'll leave soon; I want to explore the mountains alone for a few days. Maoshan is truly a wonderful place! Then, I'll head home. My home is in a small town called Zhenshan near Huashan. If you come down from the mountains, just come to Zhenshan to find me. Unless I'm dead, I'll treat you with the utmost hospitality. Don't forget, I still owe you many meals!" She thought to herself, "I can't stay long; Granny Tianshan might find me here! Although Miss Chu is very powerful, it wouldn't be good if I caused her trouble."

Chu Liuguang... Knowing Li Se's intentions, she feigned a frown and said, "Can't you stay with me for a few days? That would be such a pity." She thought to herself, "He came here for the 'Shangqing Secret Manual,' why does he want to leave before even getting it? Yes! He's playing the long game, slowly deceiving me."

Li Se was stunned, thinking, "How can Miss Chu, a young woman, say such intimate things? What's wrong with girls these days! Why are they all so proactive and enthusiastic?" Then it dawned on her, and she thought, "Yes! Miss Chu has lived in the mountains for a long time; although she's intelligent, she rarely sees people, so naturally she's simple-minded and doesn't understand formalities. Hua Ruxue is the same; it's not because they're lewd."

Li Thinking this, Li Se said, "Miss Chu, I really can't stay any longer; I have other matters to attend to. Is there another way out of Maoshan? I'm not afraid of how far!"

Chu Liuguang didn't answer Li Se's question but instead asked, "Are you afraid of being hunted down?"

Li Se said shamefully, "This... well, I guess so!"

Chu Liuguang said, "Then don't worry, I can use magic to hide your tracks so he can't find us. Brother Li, don't be embarrassed; everyone has enemies! I've calculated that today, enemies will come to seek revenge. You can even break my Bagua Formation; your martial arts must be extraordinary. Why don't you stay and help me?" He then carefully observed Li Se's expression.

Li Se was startled, his mind churning. He recalled the times he had been in danger, and how others had always helped him escape, either through sweet words or luck. When had he ever solved a problem with his own martial arts?

Li Se stammered, "Miss... I... I really have to leave. I have important business to attend to. I can't help you, I really want to, but how can I... Oh, I'm too busy!"

Chu Liuguang was puzzled as to why Li Se would give up such a good opportunity to get close to her, but then thought, "Hmm, consider yourself lucky. If you dared to stay, I'd make you suffer every kind of torture." She then said calmly, "Alright then! I'll tell you another path. We'll meet again, I hope you won't forget me."

Chu Liuguang intended to kill Li Se, implying that she shouldn't forget him in the underworld.

Li Se, unaware of Chu Liuguang's thoughts, quickly replied, "How could I forget you, Miss!"

Chu Liuguang pointed out a path to Li Se, who thanked her profusely and left.

Seeing Li Se leave, Chu Liuguang thought, "That road is shrouded in poisonous gas and teeming with strange birds and beasts. Even those with profound cultivation dare not go there; it's a forbidden zone for Maoshan throughout history. You've gone there and will never return! However, you were able to die peacefully without even realizing it, which is quite a blessing."

After Li Se left, Chu Liuguang intended to prepare to face the enemy, but he felt uneasy, his mind constantly preoccupied with Li Se's affairs. He thought, "Could it be because I killed someone that I feel fear and guilt? A formidable enemy is approaching; I can't be so flustered."

Thinking this, Chu Liuguang concentrated and recited a purification mantra, but to his dismay, it had no effect.

Chu Liuguang had never encountered such a situation before. Startled, she thought for a long time before suddenly realizing, "Ah! I was worried about wrongly accusing an innocent person! After that person left, I felt uneasy, as if I still felt he was a good person."

Understanding the cause of her unease, Chu Liuguang thought, "Since I can't calm down anyway, why not cast a divination to thoroughly understand Li Se's background and dispel my doubts?" With that thought, Chu Liuguang cast a divination. Upon

seeing the result, Chu Liuguang was shocked: "He's a good person! I wronged him… This is impossible, I must have miscalculated."

Chu Liuguang gritted her teeth and tried three more divination methods, but the conclusions were all the same.

Chu Liuguang was first dumbfounded, then tears streamed down her face, and in an instant, she understood. But Li Se had been gone for a long time, and it seemed impossible to bring him back now. Chu Liuguang thought painfully, "My mother is dead. I thought I could be okay with it! I barely shed a tear, but it turns out I only buried my grief deeper, and the pain in my heart only intensified!"

"With my mother gone, I feel like I've lost my support. My heart is broken, and I've become resentful and suspicious of everything. I've lost my composure and calm, thinking everyone is trying to harm me. Especially Li Se, with his handsome appearance and young age, and today being the day the enemy comes, I'm convinced he wants to hurt me. Having bad intentions, I always imagine the worst. Even if I'm incredibly intelligent and wise, once I'm trapped in this illusion, it's like a pearl covered in dust—how can it shine brightly and remain clear?"

"Human relationships are fickle, the world is full of twists and turns, and life is inherently complex. I was so arrogant, thinking I could see through everyone at first glance. Now I've caused the death of an innocent person. What a waste of my supposedly superior insight!"

The more Chu Liuguang thought about it, the more heartbroken she became, and tears streamed down her face. Just as she was weeping uncontrollably, she suddenly heard someone whisper behind her, "Miss Chu, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to stand idly by and not help you. It's just that I see your magic is so powerful, and whoever wants to harm you must be incredibly strong. My martial arts are so weak, what use could I be?"

Chu Liuguang turned around and saw that the person was none other than Li Se, who had returned.

Li Se continued, "Alas, back then I was also a master of martial arts, but after a disaster, my power plummeted. If you really want me to stay and help you fight your enemies, I'm afraid I'll only become a burden instead of helping you. Besides, I also have enemies. If I attract them, wouldn't things be even worse? In the end, I'm just a useless person."

Chu Liuguang's face was still wet with tears, but she was overjoyed and said, "Brother Li, it's good that you're back! You're very useful! I desperately need your help. But you have to promise me three things.

" Li Se happily replied, "As long as I can help you, Miss, I will obey your every command."

Chu Liuguang said, "First, remember, you must never leave my side by more than three feet at any time. Second, you must do what I tell you immediately, without asking why or delaying. Third, no matter what danger there is, you must not lift a finger unless I ask you for help. Can you agree to these three points?"

Li Se said, "Okay, I will do as you say. By the way, Miss, you are kind and simple, and you do not contend with the world. Who have you made enemies with? When will your enemies arrive?" 03-02
Chapter Eight Extraordinary Skills and Secret Techniques

Chu Liuguang did not answer, nor was there any need to answer, because the sound of a wooden fish came from this space-time.

Then, Li Se heard a voice, seemingly right beside her, say, "Niece Liu Guang, I am your Uncle Wu Yong. Today marks one month since your mother's passing. I intended to come and pay my respects, but fearing you might be displeased, I came to inform you first."

Chu Liu Guang looked up at the sky and said calmly, "Since you know I'm unhappy, why did you come? The Maoshan Sect forbids coming here. Don't you know that?"

Wu Yong laughed loudly, "That's right, there used to be such a prohibition. But now I am the sect leader of Maoshan Sect, so this prohibition naturally cannot bind me."

Chu Liuguang sneered, "I knew you had great ambitions. As soon as my father died, you revealed your true colors."

Wu Yong said, "Ambition is not a question. My ambition is to glorify my Maoshan Sect. In the past, our sect was famous throughout the world, but today it is in decline. It is time to revive it. Senior brother is more talented and virtuous than me, but alas! He started but did not finish. However, out of respect for the dead, I will not say anything. My dear niece, I wish to come and pay my respects to your mother. Are you willing?"

Chu Liuguang said, "My mother hated the people of Maoshan Sect the most when she was alive. Do you think I would let you come?"

Wu Yong sighed, "Alas, what a tragedy! What a tragedy! Since you do not want to see me, I will not force you. My intention has been fulfilled, and that is enough. I will pay my respects outside the valley." After saying this, he fell silent.

Li Se heard the two speaking as if face to face, and was puzzled. He looked around the room but found nothing. Then he looked out the window and

suddenly heard Chu Liuguang say softly, "What are you looking for? He's using the Shrinking Earth Technique to talk to me. Even if he's thousands of miles away, let alone outside the valley, he can talk to me as if I'm right in front of him."

Li Se was greatly ashamed and could only say stupidly, "Oh! He... he's your martial uncle!"

Chu Liuguang sighed, "You could say that! But we're going to fight soon. You must remember the three things you promised me."

Li Se had just finished saying "I understand" when... Then Wuyong's voice came again: "My dear niece, I have finished my prayers. Now that this matter is settled, I have something else to discuss with you."

Chu Liuguang said calmly, "There's no need to discuss it. You simply want to retrieve the 'Shangqing Secret Manual,' which is absolutely impossible. My mother told me that if you don't come to ask for the manual within three months of her death, I should return it; otherwise, I should keep it. But before she passed away, my mother said: 'I guess Wuyong will come a month after my death. Although he is not a good person, he is not too bad. I estimate that a month should be enough.'"

After saying this, Chu Liuguang sighed softly.

After a long pause, Wu Yong sighed, "Chu Lizhen! What a Chu Lizhen! If she were still alive, I would never have come. However..." Wu Yong suddenly changed his tone, saying, "Our Maoshan Sect has built two palaces, Jiuxiao Palace and Ding Palace, atop the main peak of Maoshan, Da Mao Peak. There are also six Daoist academies: Liuyang, Raoxiu, Qiayun, Zhongbi, Lizhen, and Yihe. One of these academies is named Lizhen, after your mother, which shows how much your father loved her. My dear niece, the grudges of the older generation are beyond your understanding. Besides, in your generation, try to resolve them if possible!"

Chu Liuguang remained unmoved, saying, "I only obey my mother..." "As for the rest, it's not something that can be explained in a single sentence, and I don't want to get involved."

Wu Yong suddenly laughed loudly, "Good, so you really are their daughter. I'll see what you're capable of. Since this battle is inevitable, then don't blame me for bullying the weak. If you come to your senses and want to give me the secret manual, just remember to speak up. Don't force yourself to endure it. No matter what, you are still my senior brother's flesh and blood."

Chu Liuguang coldly said, "Old Taoist, you should worry about yourself!"

Wu Yong wasn't angry and said, "Alright, prepare yourself well!" After saying that, he stopped talking, and there was no sound around.

Li Se was full of doubt. Seeing that they had finished talking, he said, "This Taoist is not bad! He's not a vicious enemy!"

Chu Liuguang said, "Not vicious? You can draw your conclusion later!"

Before he finished speaking, a strong wind suddenly blew up, followed by a heavy rain. The sky was extremely dark, and the rain poured down. The thatched hut seemed to be in the middle of the sea, about to be washed away.

Li Se was startled to see the once clear daytime suddenly plunge into darkness, as if in pitch-black night, with such heavy rain outside. He immediately asked Chu Liuguang a question. But at the same time, a deafening clap of thunder roared through the sky, drowning out his own words.

Then, lightning flashed in front of the house, illuminating the area as if it were daytime. Instantly, the lightning shot into the house.

Li Se was so frightened that he dared not move. The lightning repeatedly entered the house, as if searching for something, but it failed to strike either of them. After a long while, it stopped.

In the flashes of lightning, Li Se saw that Chu Liuguang remained calm, making a hand seal. He knew that she had used magic to render the lightning ineffective.

The lightning dissipated in an instant. Then, the torrential rain poured down, entering the house, and the lightning returned, becoming even more intense. A fiery wheel, followed by flashes of lightning, hurtled towards the two. Li Se, unable to open his eyes, was terrified, yet Chu Liuguang remained calm beside him. The fiery wheel of lightning and the torrential rain of electricity merely darted around them, never touching them.

After a while, Li Se saw that the water in the courtyard was over ten feet deep, the lightning and thunder roaring with the force of a mountain being shattered, unstoppable, and he didn't know how long it would last. However, seeing that it couldn't harm them, he was no longer afraid.

After an unknown amount of time, the thunder and rain gradually stopped until it was completely silent, but the surroundings were still shrouded in gray, though not as dark as before.

Perhaps tired, Li Se saw Chu Liuguang sit down on the ground with her knees crossed, so he followed suit.

As soon as he sat down, roars and various strange sounds came from all around, many of which he had never heard before. Suddenly, countless tigers, poisonous insects, lions, and serpents appeared in the house. The house, the ground, and the eaves were covered with venomous snakes, their tongues spitting poison, which pounced on the two of them along with the monsters. Roaring and grabbing, they surged forward, ready to fight and devour, extremely ferocious.

Having learned from his previous experience, Li Se remained calm. Seeing Chu Liuguang close her eyes, he followed suit, closing his eyes to rest. Sure enough, after a long time, Li Se heard strange noises, but his body was not attacked in the slightest.

The noises persisted, and Li Se, feeling bored, opened his eyes. He saw the monsters still baring their fangs and claws three feet away from him. Li Se thought, "These are just illusions; they can't scare me."

However, Li Se found the monsters, many of which were bizarre and unlike anything he had ever seen before, quite interesting, and began to examine them closely.

Then he saw a lion with its mouth wide open, as if to devour him. Amused, he involuntarily imitated the lion, opening his mouth wide and pretending to bite it.

Suddenly, Li Se heard Chu Liuguang chuckle. Feeling puzzled, she asked, "What?" Then, remembering his earlier actions, she blushed and quickly turned away, thinking, "She had her eyes closed, how could she have seen that?"

Chu Liuguang said, "I was fighting tooth and nail, and you were just playing around!"

At that moment, everything fell silent, and everything returned to normal. The wind had calmed, the rain had stopped, and the clouds drifted away, as if nothing had happened.

Li Se, deeply ashamed by Chu Liuguang's words, didn't know how to respond.

Suddenly, Wu Yong's voice came, "You're making me so angry! Hey, little girl, is that guy next to you your lover?"

Chu Liuguang said, "Guess!"

Wu Yong said, "You two look like a couple. But unless you remove the curse on your face, that guy won't want you."

Chu Liuguang was stunned and forgot to refute.

Li Se angrily said, "Old Taoist, don't talk nonsense. It's one thing to slander me, but it's wrong to insult Miss Chu. I have a wife, and you can't even see that? Your magic is limited, so hurry up and leave! Otherwise, you'll be defeated by Miss Chu, and that would be embarrassing."

Chu Liuguang also realized what was going on and said, "That's right, you're not strong enough, so you're resorting to other tricks? You're so old, and you've cultivated for many years, but this is all you've got. It's laughable! Even if I gave you the 'Shangqing Secret Manual,' you still wouldn't be able to cultivate it. I advise you to give up on that idea!"

Wu Yong laughed and said, "Little girl, your magic is not bad, but if you really compare yourself to me, you're no match. I just don't want to hurt you. The curse on your face is rare, and only I can remove it. If you exchange it for my secret manual, you'll regain your unparalleled beauty, and I'll keep my manual. We'll both benefit, and it won't hurt our relationship. Isn't that good? Besides, you'll have no use for the manual. If you have a celestial beauty, that's far more powerful than any magic, and you'll also get the person you love—all sorts of benefits." "You don't care about any of it?"

Chu Liuguang's heart skipped a beat. She thought, "So the scars on my face weren't natural; it was a curse from my mother!" She said, "Stop with your sweet talk. With your abilities, can you break my mother's curse? I already know how to break it, but I haven't decided whether to go or not. The curse my mother gave me wasn't without reason."

Wu Yong angrily said, "What a stubborn girl! You won't shed a tear until you see the coffin. Fine, let's see how you beg for mercy then!"

In an instant, the sky darkened again. Li Se laughed, "Is this Taoist priest ashamed to be seen in the light? Always resorting to such mystical tricks."

Chu Liuguang said, "You're quite bold; aren't you afraid of those terrifying things?"

Li Se replied, "What's there to be afraid of? I know those are all illusions, just things used to scare people. As long as I'm not afraid, nothing will happen. Besides, I have a girl protecting me! Ghostly tricks are beneath my dignity. If my martial arts hadn't declined so much, I would have gone out and chased that Taoist priest away long ago. As long as I'm focused and calm, I won't be afraid of evil spirits invading."

Chu Liuguang said, "You trust me that much? But do you know? The path I just pointed you to was a dead end. If you went there, you would surely die."

Li Se was stunned, seeing Chu Liuguang staring intently at him, seemingly taking his thoughts very seriously.

Li Se thought for a moment and said, "But I didn't take that path! If I hadn't helped you and had just run away, I would have been a cold-blooded person, and it wouldn't have been unjust for you to harm me. Luckily, I came back to help you out of kindness, which shows that good deeds are rewarded, and that's fate. Now that you've told me, you consider me a friend, and you certainly won't harm me in the future."

Chu Liuguang said happily, "You're not angry at all, and you don't blame me. Thank you so much. Because I lost my family, I took my anger out on everyone in the world; my heart is truly narrow. Fortunately, I met you; if it were someone else, I might have harmed them! Once this bad thing started, I would surely fall into the abyss of evil."

Li Se smiled and said, "No, you're a good girl, you would never turn bad." She

was about to say something more when she suddenly saw Chu Liuguang's serious expression and made a shushing gesture.

Chu Liuguang reached out and pulled Li Se to sit beside her, saying, "Sit still. What you're seeing is all an illusion. Don't fall for it, or your soul will be controlled, and I won't be able to save you."

Li Se had barely sat down when she sensed a completely different atmosphere. She could faintly hear weeping and various strange wails.

It was as if Li Se had entered another world, with countless wandering ghosts rushing towards her. Li Se quickly closed her eyes, calming her mind. After a while, the strange sounds disappeared.

After a long while, Li Se opened her eyes again and found herself surrounded by bustling crowds, back in the capital's marketplace. Just as Li Se was wondering what was going on, she suddenly saw a general leading a troop of soldiers, escorting two prison carts. Inside the carts were two women with strikingly beautiful faces, identical to Leng Ruxue and Hua Ruxue. As

Li Se was still puzzled, the general shouted, "The time has come! Execute them!"

The soldiers placed a large cauldron in front of the marketplace, armed with spears and forks, ready to boil the two women alive.

The two women cried out in unison, "My lord, save us!"

Li Se was terrified. Seeing that the two women were indeed Leng Ruxue and Hua Ruxue, he was filled with unbearable suffering and had long forgotten Chu Liuguang's instructions. He shouted, "You scoundrel, stop! Release them!" He then rushed forward.

The general sneered, drew his broadsword, and blocked Li Se's path. The two began to fight. However, the more Li Se fought, the more exhausted he became, as if he had no strength left, and cold sweat poured down his face.

The general swung his sword at Li Se's head, but Li Se was powerless to dodge. He thought to himself, "My life is over!"

After a long while, Li Se felt a cool sensation on his head. He opened his eyes blankly and saw Chu Liuguang looking at him with affection, a jade-like hand resting on his forehead.

She said softly, "Brother Li, why are you so insecure! You can't even beat someone in your dreams?"

Li Se asked in confusion, "What?"

Chu Liuguang said, "Nothing, just a dream."

She handed Li Se a handkerchief and said, "Wipe your sweat!" She thought to herself, "Don't underestimate Young Master Li just because he's knowledgeable. He still has his own unresolved issues. There's a big difference between knowing and doing, just like me."

Li Se took the handkerchief, his mind still replaying the dream he had just had.

Chu Liuguang got up and lit the candles in the room, instantly brightening it.

Li Se said, "What? Is it dark? Wasn't that Taoist priest Wuyong performing a spell?"

Chu Liuguang smiled and said, "No, it's already night!"

Only then did Li Se realize that the surroundings were quiet as usual, indeed different from the darkness before.

Seeing Li Se looking around aimlessly, Chu Liuguang said, "You've forgotten my instructions again! Didn't I tell you not to leave my side?"

Li Se replied, "Okay, okay."

He walked to Chu Liuguang's side, smelling her delicate fragrance and exotic aroma. Seeing that Chu Liuguang's face was beautiful, he thought, "Actually, her looks are no less than Xiangjun and Ruxue! She doesn't need to be sad."

Chu Liuguang said, "You said you'd listen to me, but if you disobey again, you're not helping me!"

Li Se said sternly, "That's right, I was confused! I promise I won't do it again, please don't worry, Miss."

He was very frustrated, recalling the scene in his dream. He was probably under some kind of spell, and it must have been Chu Liuguang who saved him.

Chu Liuguang said, "Hmm, that's more like it."

After saying that, she busied herself in the room, and Li Se could only follow her and watch her arrange things.

Chu Liuguang remained silent, and he dared not help, filled with regret: "Why didn't Master let me learn magic? Otherwise, it would have been so useful. Now my martial arts are failing me too; I'm truly useless."

Just then, a noise came from outside, and a burly man stormed into the courtyard, his massive frame breaking the wooden door.

Li Se was quite tall, but this man was a head taller than her. The man barged into the house, shouting, "Hey, little girl, quickly bring me the precious book, or I'll tear your house down and shred you. You're so young; you'd better know your place and not throw your life away!"

Li Se was already furious at the man's rudeness and arrogance, but she held back because she remembered to obey Chu Liuguang.

Chu Liuguang said, "Brother, you're quite arrogant, you must have some extraordinary skills! This humble woman is eager to learn from you!"

The burly man chuckled, "Young lady, you're just ignorant of your own limitations. Since you know how powerful I am, you still dare to challenge me. It seems I won't let you know how powerful I am until I teach you a lesson." He adopted a fighting stance, saying, "Young lady, come on over! Show me what you've got."

But Chu Liuguang smiled and said, "No rush. Since you've come to my home, you're a guest! How can I not entertain you? Please drink my toast first."

She said to Li Se, "Could you please go next door and fetch some wine from the large cup?"

Li Se was taken aback, thinking, "Miss Chu is truly polite."

He did as she asked and indeed found a huge cup in the next room, large enough to hold a whole dou (a unit of volume) of wine.

Li Se filled a large cup with fine wine and brought it back. Chu Liuguang gestured for Li Se to give the cup to the burly man, which Li Se did as instructed.

Chu Liuguang said, "Please, guest, have a drink. Although we are rivals, this is our first meeting, so we should drink, shouldn't we? It's customary to be courteous before resorting to force."

The burly man mumbled, "Then why aren't you drinking?"

Chu Liuguang retorted, "Hey, I'm a woman! You're not going to force me to drink with you, are you?"

The burly man laughed loudly and said, "Fine, I'll drink. You want to get me drunk so you can easily defeat me, right? You've miscalculated. Don't regret it later." With that, he picked up the cup Li Se had brought him and drank it all in one gulp, not wasting a single drop.

Strangely enough, after drinking, the burly man grew taller, his waist thicker, and he became even stronger and more terrifying.

Chu Liuguang said, "The guest hasn't had enough to drink; this is not the way to treat a guest. Brother Li, please go and get another cup!"

The burly man didn't refuse, and so it was done five times, until the burly man had drunk a full five dou of wine. The more the burly man drank, the stronger he became, and his appearance and posture became even more arrogant. Moreover, he showed no signs of drunkenness, only a flushed face, but his expression remained calm

and composed. The burly man laughed loudly, drank the fifth cup of wine, then threw it to the ground and shouted, "I've drunk a lot, it's time to make my move. Now, with the alcohol raging, I'm in a great mood, and I'm afraid you can't withstand my attack. You might as well surrender. I don't want to fight a delicate girl unless absolutely necessary."

Chu Liuguang sneered, "You're drunk, don't talk nonsense."

The burly man shouted angrily, "How dare you say I'm drunk?"

As he spoke, he lunged at Chu Liuguang, his fan-like hand aiming to slap Chu Liuguang's head.

Chu Liuguang didn't dodge, coldly saying, "So you really are drunk and acting crazy!"

The burly man stopped halfway through his attack, his eyes blazing with anger, and said, "Who's drunk and acting crazy? Fight back, or I'll strangle you."

Chu Liuguang said, "You're not drunk? Then try drinking another small cup. If you can't drink it, then you've had too much to drink."

He then personally took a small, exquisite cup, no bigger than two fingers, filled it, and handed it to the burly man.

The burly man hesitated. Chu Liuguang sarcastically said, "Haha, you say you're not drunk? You can't even drink this small cup?"

The burly man was furious, his anger uncontrollable, and he drank the entire cup.

The burly man laughed, "What? This small cup of wine can't stump me?"

Before he finished speaking, the burly man suddenly collapsed, and when they looked again, he had vanished, leaving only a large wine barrel standing there. It turned out that the burly man was a large wine barrel, containing five dou (a unit of volume) of wine.

Upon seeing this, Chu Liuguang exclaimed happily, "What a bargain! A cup of wine for a century-old wine barrel—what a bargain!"

Li Se stared in disbelief, then laughed heartily, "Young lady, what skill!" She then carried the wine barrel back to the next room.

Chapter Nine: The Battle of the Gods

. Chu Liuguang sat at the table reading, while Li Se stood beside her, serving her, wondering what other tricks the Wuyong Taoist priest would use. Seeing the two fighting increasingly strangely, she wondered what other wondrous things might happen.

The night deepened, and Chu Liuguang gradually became drowsy, falling asleep on the table.

Li Se thought, "This battle is extremely exhausting. No wonder she's so sleepy even with a formidable enemy at hand. I must protect her well." She then perked up, paying attention to the surroundings.

After an unknown amount of time, Li Se grew increasingly sleepy, thinking she couldn't fall asleep, but she couldn't resist the drowsiness. Her eyelids grew heavier, and the lamplight seemed to dim further.

Li Se cried out in his heart, "I can't sleep, I can't sleep, something must be wrong!" But how could he open his eyes?

Li Se sighed, thinking to himself, "Li Se, you're really useless. Can even the Sleep Demon defeat you? It's one thing if you can't do anything else, but your willpower is so weak?"

Thinking of this, Li Se's chest filled with anger. He took a deep breath and shouted. Suddenly, he felt a surge of true energy flowing into his head, and his eyes opened. At the same time, he became fully awake.

Li Se immediately saw a tiny figure, about a foot tall, with a short body and long legs, extremely long sideburns, wearing white double-soled shoes, about to stab the unconscious Chu Liuguang with a tiny sword.

Li Se was shocked and shouted, "Miss Chu, wake up!" At the same time, he struck the tiny figure with a palm.

The tiny figure was as light as paper, and with the force of Li Se's punch, it floated to Chu Liuguang's right ear, still aiming to stab her.

Li Se was shocked, never expecting the little man to be so cunning and treacherous. She tried to rescue him, but with Chu Liuguang in between, and the little man so small, there was no way she could act in time.

Before Li Se could regret it, she suddenly saw Chu Liuguang move, swiftly opening the book and trapping the little man inside, perfectly positioned. Then she closed the book, turned to Li Se with a smile, and said, "Thanks to your rescue, young master, otherwise I would have been in serious trouble!"

Li Se was stunned for a moment before saying, "So you weren't asleep, making me worry for nothing."

Chu Liuguang laughed, "How could that be! I appreciate your kindness!"

Li Se noticed that Chu Liuguang's scars were indistinct under the lamplight, making her extremely alluring, so she stopped looking at her, thinking, "This girl is formidable. Anyone who becomes her opponent is doomed." She said, "There's no kindness involved, I didn't help you much."

Chu Liuguang smiled and said nothing more, saying, "Wait for me." She then went to the next room, and a while later... The boy returned, carrying a foot-long knife, and handed it to Li Se, saying, "This is for you to use in self-defense."

Li Se took it and saw that although the knife was small, it felt just as good to hold as his original dragon-shaped blade. He couldn't help but marvel and asked in surprise, "How did you know I was good with a knife? Did you deduce it?"

Chu Liuguang smiled and said, "This is the Qiankun Blade, which has some magical power. It's not just any weapon. I just gave it to you to use. I didn't know you were good with a knife." He thought to himself, "I was secretly watching you earlier, and I noticed how tightly you gripped your right hand when you were nervous. I naturally guessed it! If you have to use divination for everything, where would you find the energy? Besides, if you always rely on magic, you'll become stupid!"

Li Se said, "Oh!" He held the Qiankun Blade, his heart filled with emotion.

Seeing Li Se's expression, Chu Liuguang opened the book and said to her, "Look, I've subdued this person inside the book."

Li Se saw a paper figure tucked inside and exclaimed, "So it's just a paper figure!"

Chu Liuguang replied, "No, it's the soul of a real person attached to the paper. If I'm not mistaken, two more paper figures will come soon."

Li Se asked, "How do we deal with them? What arrangements do we need? Do you need my help?"

Chu Liuguang handed the book to Li Se, saying, "Here, take this. When you see them coming, just throw it at them and flatten them." She then lay back down on the table.

Li Se, seeing that Chu Liuguang's explanation was unclear, wanted to ask more, but she had already fallen asleep. Suspicious, she cautiously and carefully observed the situation, fearing that a single mistake would cause Chu Liuguang great harm.

After a while, sure enough, a small figure quietly slipped in through the crack in the door. Li Se saw it and quickly threw the book away; the small figure couldn't escape and was pinned down. Li Se thought to himself, "Haha, this little man is so stupid, he doesn't even know how to dodge."

It turned out that the book Chu Liuguang had given him was the *I Ching*. Amazed, he saw the little man flattened and turned into a paper figure, so he placed the paper figure inside the book and waited quietly.

Sure enough, after a short while, another little man appeared, and Li Se used the same method to capture him again. Gradually, dawn broke, and nothing more happened.

At dawn, just as day was breaking, Li Se heard someone calling outside the gate. Just as he was about to wake Chu Liuguang, Chu Liuguang, who was already up, said, "Please go open the door and let her in."

Li Se did as she was told. An old woman came in. Li Se led her into the house. As soon as the woman saw Chu Liuguang, she rushed over and knelt down, crying, "Girl, please, for the sake of my relationship with your mother, let my sons go! We've been neighbors for almost ten years. Can you bear to let this old woman die without offspring in her old age!"

The woman cried very sadly and cried for a long time. Li Se couldn't bear to watch any longer and said, "Miss Chu, this old woman is crying so hard. If you can help her, please do so!"

Chu Liuguang sighed and said, "Young Master, you have a kind heart, but you're just too kind-hearted."

Then she said to the woman, "Get up! You and your sons have committed many unrighteous acts. My mother warned you long ago that you would get your retribution sooner or later. Now you've been bewitched! You're not young anymore, and since Young Master Li has pleaded for you, I'll return your youngest son to you. If you still don't repent, you'll suffer even greater retribution. As for your other two sons, their deaths are your punishment. Don't bother Young Master Li anymore, or I won't be polite and won't spare a single one of them." After saying this, she took out a paper figure from the book and handed it to the woman.

The woman indeed dared not speak, took the paper figure, thanked Chu Liuguang, kowtowed to Li Se, and then fled like the wind.

Li Se said, "Miss Chu, why are you keeping those two paper figures? Let's go all the way and release them! After this lesson, they shouldn't do anything bad again."

Chu Liuguang said, "Not necessarily. They won't change unless they're taught a bloody lesson." Li Se had no choice but to stop talking.

Chu Liuguang said, "The weather is perfect today, ideal for a big battle. Brother Li, please help me make the arrangements!" Li Se

asked curiously, "That Taoist priest still won't let you go?"

Chu Liuguang said, "Well, what I just experienced was an appetizer; the main course hasn't arrived yet! He won't give up! Performing rituals during the day is much harder than at night; he's testing me!" She thought, "He's taking advantage of my youth, my limited magical power and energy. So last night was just harassment; today is the real battle." As

they spoke, the two set up tables and various items. Then Chu Liuguang burned incense and prayed, while Li Se stood beside her with his sword.

Chu Liuguang said, "When heaven and earth open, burn incense on the spot. Let the smoke rise, reaching the heavens. The wafting smoke invites the gods to descend. The billowing smoke invites the gods to bestow blessings. The wispy smoke invites the gods to arrive." Then he drew a talisman, blew on it, and the talisman flew out the door.

In the time it takes to eat a meal, a strong wind arose, trees swayed, and houses shook. Suddenly, a divine general in armor rushed in, saying, "The divine general has arrived! Please, celestial official, give him your orders!"

Chu Liuguang gave a few instructions, and the divine general left. A short while later, he returned, his face bruised and swollen.

Chu Liuguang asked him what had happened, but before the divine general could finish speaking, suddenly, hundreds of divine generals descended from the sky, each with a strange appearance, wielding swords and halberds, standing before the door, about to rush in.

Chu Liuguang remained calm and drew another talisman, blowing it into the sky. A moment later, a Vajra descended from the northwest sky, dozens of feet tall, with fierce brows and piercing eyes.

The divine generals were all terrified and lay prone, too afraid to move. When Vajra reached the front of the house, the divine soldiers suddenly vanished.

A moment later, a monster with a pig's head and a human body appeared, wearing leopard-skin trousers; Vajra was also terrified and disappeared.

Chu Liuguang sneered, "The righteous way won't work, so you resort to despicable evil magic. Do you think monsters are more powerful than gods?"

He then drew a talisman, burned it, and a fairy appeared shortly after. The monster, seeing it, trembled with fear and dared not move. The fairy subdued the monster, bid farewell to Chu Liuguang, and departed.

Li Se watched, completely mesmerized, unsure what to say. Finally, she asked, "Miss, did you win?"

Chu Liuguang replied, "We'll continue the fight; he's changing tactics. His magic has reached a certain level; he can transform all things, command ghosts and gods, even plants, trees, and stones into thousands of troops. He won't admit defeat so easily!" Before he finished

speaking, the sound of gongs and drums filled the air, and thousands of horses neighed.

Chu Liuguang chanted a spell, and suddenly four pillars sprouted from the house, rising straight into the sky. Li Se saw that in the distance, men and horses were charging menacingly towards the house.

Chu Liuguang chanted again, and four paper talismans flew about. Soon, tens of thousands of men, seemingly from nowhere, gathered beside the four pillars.

The two armies arrayed themselves, each sending out a horse. The two generals fought fiercely, while the surrounding soldiers beat drums and shouted. After a long while, neither side gained the upper hand, and they returned to their respective formations. The drums sounded again, and

the soldiers began a chaotic melee. The drumming intensified, and arrows and stones rained down. After a long and fierce battle, Chu Liuguang's army suffered a crushing defeat, with countless wounded and dead lying on the ground. Li Se's expression changed, but Chu Liuguang remained calm.

Suddenly, Wu Yong said, "Yin and Yang are in harmony; those who possess it prosper. The mighty power of Heaven rises, driven and stirred by the wind. Having won one battle, is there a need for another?"

Chu Liuguang replied, "A white rainbow pierces the sun, seizing the opportune moment. Divine intervention ensures victory and defeat are not constant." He then produced a command flag, muttering incessantly.

In a short while, flags fluttered on the ground, and swords and halberds gleamed. The flags were densely packed, revealing a large contingent of soldiers in twenty-eight different colors, arranged in the Twenty-Eight Constellations Formation. The Dipper's feathers were on the left, the Ox's on the right, each constellation clearly defined. The swords and halberds, aligned with the sixty-four hexagrams, with the Qian hexagram representing odd numbers and the Kun hexagram representing even numbers, were arranged with meticulous precision.

These men and women possessed immense power; truly, the first roar of a sword silenced even the fiercest tigers in the mountains; their armor, like scales, made even the golden dragons of the four seas pale in comparison. Each one was like a fierce star, their shouts like thunderclaps.

Chu Liuguang shouted, "Soldiers, fight with all your might! Everyone, focus your strength and avoid the axes and halberds!" Then she raised her flag to give the order.

A column of black and purple flags appeared, the purple flag held horizontally above the blue flag... forming a battle formation, charging towards the enemy.

The battle was extremely fierce; tens of thousands of soldiers clashed, blood flowing like rivers. Li Se, watching from the platform, was heartbroken. Seeing countless corpses lying on the ground in no time, he was filled with rage and could no longer contain himself. He shouted, "Miss Chu, stop fighting! Why kill so many people!"

Chu Liuguang, her command flag flying in the air, directed the battle. Hearing this, she said, "Brother Li, please stop bothering me! These are just grass and trees, not people!" As soon as she finished speaking, the troops vanished. For

dozens of miles around, the ground was covered with wild grass and broken trees, a scene of utter chaos. Li Se was stunned, secretly regretting his rashness.

Upon seeing this, Chu Liuguang beckoned, saying, "Don't worry, this defeat wasn't too bad, there's still room for improvement. Brother, come here."

Li Se dared not be willful any longer and quickly came to Chu Liuguang's side. Chu Liuguang stretched out her jade-like hand and gestured on Li Se's forehead. After a while, Chu Liuguang said, "Alright! You can see everything now. I want to fight Old Taoist Wuyong again, a battle of souls. Please protect my body and protect my spirit." After

Chu Liuguang finished speaking, without waiting for Li Se's reply, she sat cross-legged under the incense table, chanting something. Li Se saw Chu Liuguang suddenly fly up, but there was another version of her on the table, which was her physical body. Li Se saw Chu Liuguang

's spirit fly into the air, her purple clothes fluttering, looking incredibly beautiful.

Suddenly, a vast expanse of water appeared in the sky, stretching as far as the eye could see. Above, a black cloud appeared, and a Taoist priest, sword in hand, rode on the black cloud, shouting as he held a staff on the water. The water surged and roared, the giant waves crashing towards Chu Liuguang.

When Chu Liuguang was only a few steps from the floodwaters, he suddenly threw a talisman into the water, which immediately transformed into a small boat. Chu Liuguang boarded the boat, which remained as stable as land amidst the giant waves, making him quite pleased with himself.

Li Se saw that the Taoist priest in the sky had a strange appearance, a dignified countenance, high cheekbones, a broad forehead, a full beard, wore a turban, and a blue Taoist robe; it was naturally the Taoist Wuyong.

Seeing that he could not do anything to Chu Liuguang, Wuyong was immediately enraged. He chanted a spell, and suddenly a poisonous dragon leaped out of the sky, baring its fangs and claws, grabbing at Chu Liuguang, intending to rip out his heart.

Chu Liuguang remained calm. He chanted an incantation, took out two pills, and then summoned two energy rings. The two energy rings, one blue and one white, merged into a large, spiky pill about the size of a half-blue, half-white mandarin duck, which pierced the dragon's head.

The dragon immediately fell into the water, its head and tail twitching several times before it froze and slowly sank. The two energy rings flew back into Chu Liuguang's hand, separating again into two pills.

These two pills, which Chu Liuguang had initially created, could not change size. After many years of cultivation, they could now be large or small, separate or combine, and could also transform into a single ring. The power of a magical artifact depends on the user; the deeper one's Dao power, the greater the magical power, and the greater the magical artifact's power becomes.

Chu Liuguang roared in fury, "This is nothing but a sword pellet! Dragons are wood, swords are metal, and metal can overcome wood. My wooden dragon has been destroyed by you. I'll unleash a fire dragon and burn this little girl to ashes. Don't blame me then!"

With that, she held a coconut shell in her palm and chanted an incantation. A crimson dragon, initially only five or six inches long, instantly grew to over ten feet, its body wreathed in flames, baring its fangs and claws, spitting a beam of fire at Chu Liuguang as it soared towards her.

Chu Liuguang laughed, "What a hellish thing!" She took out a small crystal box, about an inch long, containing a strand of blue thread, which transformed into an iron pestle needle. This needle was a treasure; mountains could not damage it, and seas could not move it. It could transform; it could repel water and extinguish fire.

Chu Liuguang flung the needle into the air, chanting an incantation to activate it. The needle moved with lightning speed, shooting straight towards the heart of the fire dragon. The fire dragon couldn't dodge in time, and the divine needle pierced its heart. The fire dragon struggled and rolled, but in a moment the flames were extinguished, and the fire dragon died.

Wu Yong was astonished and angrily said, "The Azure Needle is made of gold, how could it subdue my fire dragon and take its life? What kind of sorcery did you use? How could you avoid the principles of the Five Elements' mutual generation and restraint?"

Chu Liuguang sneered, "The principles of the Five Elements' mutual generation and restraint cannot be defied even by the Creator, let alone by humans. Do you know that dragons are originally wood, and that the fire of dragon thunder, ignited by the dragon, becomes fire? The so-called mutual restraint means controlling the root, then the branch will also be eliminated. If only the branch is controlled, the root remains, but the branch will reignite. Do you think I'm a fool?"

Wu Yong said, "Nonsense, my fire dragon is so powerful... " "How could I be afraid of your golden needles?"

Chu Liuguang said, "Transformation is the way of mutual generation. The spirit of the needle is similar to that of a dragon, derived from its essence. You wield the dragon's banner, no matter how powerful, it is still its essence. I abandon the sword and use the needle to extract the finest essence of metal. Why is this? Because your fire dragon is intelligent and will flee if it sees the sword energy flying towards it. Therefore, I use a tiny needle to pierce its heart from bottom to top, so that when the dragon sees it, it will not be able to dodge in time! It can also concentrate the metal power and succeed in one fell swoop.

No matter how powerful your firepower is on the surface, it will be in vain." Wuyong was dumbfounded and speechless.

Chu Liuguang smiled and sighed, "You have worked hard for thirty years, but once your skills are exhausted, what can you do to me!"

Wuyong thought to himself, "This girl must have learned the 'Shangqing Secret Manual' to be so powerful. Continuing to fight will be pointless." He left in anger.

As soon as Wuyong left, the great water became calm, the waves stopped and the wind ceased. Chu Liuguang laughed happily, navigating her small boat and waving to Li Se. After playing for a while, she flew back to the house that had transformed into a magic platform and returned to her physical body.

Li Se exclaimed, "Wow, that's amazing! I'm dizzy watching it; it's truly incredible. You're like a celestial being descended to earth!"

Chu Liuguang laughed, "Not at all! My abilities are quite limited. You can't judge a book by its cover; I'm just making a fool of myself!"

Li Se continued to praise her, and the two chatted and laughed as they transformed back to normal while cleaning up the mess.

After tidying up the house, Chu Liuguang closed her eyes to rest and seemed to fall asleep. Li Se knew she had used too much magic and must be extremely exhausted. Although he hadn't slept all night, he didn't feel tired either. For safety's sake, he continued to guard Chu Liuguang.

Although Li Se was watching over Chu Liuguang, he thought that since Chu Liuguang had defeated the Taoist priest, the priest would realize he was no match and wouldn't come back. However, after several hours, suddenly the sound of two people's footsteps came from afar.

Li Se hurriedly ran to the gate and saw two Taoist priests approaching the thatched hut. The one in the lead was none other than the Taoist Wu Yong, followed by a young Taoist priest wearing a patchwork robe, carrying a basket on his back, and holding a wooden fish in one hand.

Li Se quickly returned to the house and shook Chu Liuguang awake.

Chu Liuguang was still half asleep, her eyes blurry, and asked, "What's wrong? What happened?"

Li Se said, "The Taoist priest has come in person, with a young Taoist priest."

Chu Liuguang sighed, took a few items, and then went out of the house with Li Se.

The two went out the gate and met Wu Yong and the young Taoist priest.

Chu Liuguang said, "Uncle-Master, what brings you here? If you want to pay respects to my mother, didn't you already pay your respects outside?"

She addressed Wu Yong as Uncle-Master at this moment to mock him for not even being able to surpass his juniors.

Wu Yong's face turned ashen. He said, "You little brat, with such a sharp tongue. I held back earlier, allowing your schemes to succeed. I won't deny that I lost. But the future of the Maoshan Sect cannot be affected by my personal gains or losses! Therefore, I must obtain the secret manual today, no matter what. I'd rather kill you than not get it. You may have many schemes, but your magical power is far inferior to mine. Think it over carefully, lest you throw your life away."

Chu Liuguang knew in his heart that Wu Yong was right. In a direct confrontation, Chu Liuguang's chances of winning were indeed very small. He had thought that if he won the contest, Wu Yong would feel humiliated and dare not come again, but he hadn't expected Wu Yong to be so desperate.

Chu Liuguang thought for a moment, then suddenly laughed and said, "Let's see who wins and who loses! Life and death are predestined, and I can't disobey my mother's dying wish and bear the stigma of disloyalty and unfilial piety."

Wu Yong angrily said, "Fine, I've done everything I can. Whether you listen or not is entirely up to you." Then he said to the little Taoist beside him, "Mingmei, it's up to you."

The little Taoist Mingmei was dumbfounded and said, "Master, what do you want me to do?"

Wu Yong angrily said, "I've taught you for so many years, do you expect me to teach you now?"

The little Taoist said, "Master, I understand."

Then he walked up to Chu Liuguang and said with a grin, "This female benefactor, you have a face like jade, a waist like a willow, are pretty and charming, and your eyes are full of spring... How about I have a pleasant encounter with you?"

Li Se saw that this little Taoist was only fourteen or fifteen years old and usually had a smiling and amiable appearance. He didn't expect him to be such a lecher.

He was furious, but before he could speak, Wu Yong kicked Ming Mei in the buttocks, yelling, "What time is it? You've wasted all my effort!"

Chu Liuguang laughed, "This little brother is quite good! Much better than you, old Taoist. He even knows I'm handsome!"

Taoist Wu Yong was enraged, thinking, "I can't finish her off without magic weapons, let alone secret manuals." He untied a small gourd from his waist, held it in his palm, and said, "Since you're so powerful, do you know what's inside the gourd? I'll admit defeat if you guess correctly!"

Chu Liuguang looked closely and pretended, "It's a little monkey."

Wu Yong replied, "It really is!"

He tilted the gourd, and a small monkey the size of a date jumped out, instantly transforming into a striped tiger, which pounced on Chu Liuguang.

Chu Liuguang pointed, and the tiger retreated several steps. She turned and shouted, "Brother Li, use your knife to cut it!"

Li Se heard this and swung his knife, striking the tiger squarely. The tiger, its blood gushing, was cleaved in two by the Qiankun Blade and died before the gate.

Chapter Ten: Life and Death

are Fate. Seeing this, Wuyong, enraged and ashamed, chanted an incantation, and a nine-petaled copper hammer struck towards Chu Liuguang from the air. Chu Liuguang quickly chanted a spell, and a feather fan appeared in her hand, which she used to defend herself.

Wuyong sat cross-legged on the ground, muttering incessantly, the meaning of which was unclear. The copper hammer continued to strike incessantly for a long time before finally stopping.

Li Se saw that Chu Liuguang was already drenched in sweat from exhaustion. But remembering Chu Liuguang's instructions, he dared not rashly help her. Now that he had some free time, he anxiously said, "Miss, let me handle this! You should go and rest, look how tired you are. This Taoist priest is shameless, he clearly lost long ago, but he still comes to pester me."

Chu Liuguang said, "Brother Li, have you forgotten what you promised me? Remember it!"

Wu Yong sneered, "What a stubborn one, even when facing death, he doesn't know how to back down. Fine, I'll kill you all today, so that you won't harm my reputation if I leave you alive. Niece, you forced me to do this, I've shown mercy three times."

Chu Liuguang said, "Spare me? Heh, that's hilarious, who was the one who was beaten so badly and fled?"

Wu Yong was furious upon hearing this, and without further hesitation, he suddenly bit his lip, then bit his middle finger, and drew random lines in the air with his bloody finger, muttering incessantly, but it was impossible to understand what he was saying.

The nine-petaled bronze hammer, which had been hanging in the air, suddenly began to shake violently, then struck Chu Liuguang with lightning speed.

Chu Liuguang hurriedly used her feather fan to block, but was knocked back and staggered. The nine-petaled bronze hammer flew back into the air and then fell again.

Seeing this, Li Se could only watch helplessly, as he dared not help Chu Liuguang without her orders.

Chu Liuguang's feather fan was shattered by the nine-petaled bronze hammer, which, with its remaining force, struck Chu Liuguang in the chest. Chu Liuguang was knocked to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood. The nine-petaled bronze hammer leaped into

the air again and then struck the fallen Chu Liuguang, seemingly intending to kill her.

Seeing this, Li Se thought to himself, "If I stand by and watch her die, and then turn and run away, would I still be human?"

He could no longer restrain himself, shouted, and rushed forward, drawing his Qiankun Blade to block the nine-petaled bronze hammer.

The nine-petaled bronze hammer was incredibly powerful; Li Se's hand was cracked from the impact, barely managing to block the blow. Knowing this couldn't continue, he quickly mustered all his strength and hurled the Qiankun Blade at Wu Yong, simultaneously throwing a punch.

Wu Yong sat with his eyes closed, making no apparent movement, but he automatically floated up, dodging Li Se's blade. Li Se had anticipated his evasion and, seeing his retreat, launched a punch with unstoppable momentum.

Wu Yong was struck squarely by Li Se, but he didn't budge, while Li Se felt as if his arm had struck a boulder, the pain excruciating.

Just then, Chu Liuguang touched the blood he had spat on the ground with his finger, chanted an incantation, and shouted, "Thunder Halberd, Demon-Subduing Sword!"

Countless halberds, swords, and forks flew through the air, shooting towards Wu Yong. Wu Yong's nine-petaled bronze hammer suddenly multiplied into thousands, helping him defend while simultaneously striking Li Se and Chu Liuguang.

Seeing the overwhelming force of the attack, Chu Liuguang knew something was wrong. She secretly regretted using her magic too early, leaving it weak. But at this moment, she had no choice but to use her full strength.

She gritted her teeth, bit her lip until it bled, dipped her finger in the blood, and quickly drew a talisman. The halberds, swords, and forks in the air intensified, and Wuyong blocked most of them, but one sword still struck him squarely in the chest, causing blood to gush out immediately.

Chu Liuguang was overjoyed, but suddenly saw two copper hammers approaching her chest. She quickly chanted a spell, but it was too late, and she was still struck by one of the copper hammers. At the same time, she saw Li Se also dodge countless copper hammers, but was struck in the back by a copper hammer that appeared out of nowhere.

In that critical moment, Chu Liuguang had no time to think. Just as she was about to cast another spell, she suddenly saw the young Taoist priest pick up Wuyong and fly away, disappearing in an instant. Chu Liuguang was stunned for a moment. Seeing that they were far away, she went to Li Se's side, bent down and picked her up. Seeing blood trickling from the corner of Li Se's mouth, she laughed, "Really, why were you risking your life like that?"

Chu Liuguang felt Li Se's pulse and immediately froze, her face turning as white as paper. For a long time, Chu Liuguang remained silent. Li Se said with difficulty, "Miss Chu, I feel empty inside. Why is that?"

Chu Liuguang stared at Li Se's face for a long time before saying, "Brother Li, your heart meridian is broken. You can't live anymore."

Upon hearing this, Li Se's vision went black, and she fainted. After an unknown amount of time, Li Se woke up to find herself still in Chu Liuguang's arms.

Li Se remembered what Chu Liuguang had said and said, "I'm going to die, and I want to say a few words."

Chu Liuguang looked at Li Se sadly and said, "Brother Li, don't speak yet, listen to me first."

Li Se nodded. Chu Liuguang said, "Brother Li, why didn't you listen to me and risk your life to save me? Now you've lost your life."

Li Se said, "How could I not help you? How could I let that Taoist priest be so arrogant! If you die, I'll be heartbroken for the rest of my life, unable to hold my head high, and I'll wish I were dead. So you don't need to thank me; I saved you for my own sake."

Chu Liuguang said blankly, "Are all men so quick to help others? If you die, what will happen to your wife? How can you face her? If she were here, she would never approve of you risking your life."

Li Se laughed, "Silly girl, you don't understand. If Xiangjun were here, she would support me in doing this; she would never like a coward. I wasn't always this brave; I used to avoid powerful figures. As a man, some responsibilities cannot be shirked; they must be shouldered."

Chu Liuguang listened, speechless.

Li Se smiled and said, "Don't be sad, young lady. While I still have breath, please do me a favor."

Chu Liuguang said blankly, "Go ahead! I'm listening. Although I can't save you, I will fulfill your last wish."

Li Se said sadly, "Alright. Please go to the Wang family in the capital and tell my wife, Gu Xiangjun, that I'm dead. A year after my death, please ask her to remarry, otherwise I won't be at peace, and I won't die in peace."

No matter how smart Chu Liuguang was, he didn't expect Li Se to say such a thing, and exclaimed, "Brother Li, are you confused? Or is your relationship with your wife not good?"

Li Se smiled bitterly, "Xiangjun and I are deeply in love. There is no couple in the world more loving than us. You are still young and unmarried, you don't understand these things. Just do as I tell you. As for... sigh, as for her, she has her master's arrangements, why should I worry about her! Ruxue..." Suddenly, some warm and sensual images appeared before his eyes.

Li Se thought of the painful memories, and his eyes involuntarily moistened, but he didn't shed any tears.

Chu Liuguang paused, then gritted his teeth and said, "You're lying! What man wouldn't want his wife to remain a widow for him, unless you two are completely unloving? You must tell me the reason, or I won't help you!"

Li Se felt increasingly weak, and mumbled, "But...but I need..."

Chu Liuguang placed his hand on Li Se's chest, and Li Se immediately felt a surge of relief, as if he hadn't been injured at all.

Li Se knew that Chu Liuguang had somehow prolonged his life for a while, so he didn't waste any more time and said, "Listen carefully, I'll tell you the only person I ever killed in this world, and the true story he left me in a book."

Li Se recounted the following story:

In the Yuan Dynasty, there was a scholar named Lu, whose mother became a widow at the age of nineteen. Lu was a posthumous child, and his mother, widowed young, initially lamented her fate and vowed to remain chaste. When she was thirty-three or thirty-four, Lu was already fourteen or fifteen, so she hired a learned scholar to tutor her at home.

One evening, Madam Lu suddenly felt a stirring of lust. She thought to herself that there was no one in the household she could go to, except for her tutor, who was of similar age, handsome, and nearby. So she went to the study.

Reaching the door, she hesitated to go in, and could only shrink back, sighing. She tried to go to sleep, but tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep! After a while, she couldn't resist any longer and quietly went back to the study. But once there, shame overcame her, and she reluctantly returned to her room.

On the third day, she felt a burning desire rising to her head, and she could no longer bear it. So she steeled herself, gritted her teeth, and went straight to the study. At this moment, Madam Lu, emboldened by a sudden burst of courage, knocked on the door of the study.

The tutor inside was a dignified Confucian scholar. Hearing the knock, he asked who it was. Madam Lu replied, "Is that me?"

Recognizing the voice, the tutor asked loudly, "What brings you to my study so late at night, Madam?"

Madam Lu couldn't answer immediately and stammered, "Sir, please open the door. I have something to say."

Unexpectedly, the tutor refused outright, saying, "It's the middle of the night, and it's inappropriate for men and women to be together. If you truly have something to say, why not discuss it tomorrow?"

Madam Lu, blushing, said softly, "That's not something that can be done during the day. I truly pity you, sir, for sleeping alone and feel lonely, so I came to keep you company."

Hearing this, the tutor understood Madam Lu's meaning and spoke sharply through the window, "Madam, you are mistaken! I am a gentleman; how could I do such a shameful thing? Besides, you were a dignified historian in your daytime. Does your behavior disregard your dignity? Your son is now fifteen years old and is very diligent in his studies; he will have a bright future..." Your future is undoubtedly bright. Even if you don't care about Mr. Lu's reputation, shouldn't you at least leave some room for your son? You are fortunate to have met me. If you had encountered some other wicked person who could have truly defiled you, not only would your reputation be ruined, but you would also bring shame upon your ancestors. Even your son, if he heard of this, would he still have the heart to study and strive for advancement? However, what happened today is known only to Heaven and Earth, and to you and me. I will be leaving this place tomorrow and will never tell a third party, to protect your reputation. You can rest assured. "Yes. From now on, I only hope that you, Madam, will cleanse your heart and never again harbor such delusional thoughts as you did today! Madam, please return to your room peacefully. There is no need for shame or remorse. A person who can recognize their mistakes and correct them is blessed in the future. You will return to a

clear conscience, just as you have reined in your horse at the edge of the cliff, preventing a fatal fall and regret. I have said all I need to say. Madam, please return!" The teacher's eloquent words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Madam

Lu's head, extinguishing all her desires. She returned to her room dejectedly, feeling increasingly ashamed, and couldn't help but weep. Madam Lu cried for half the night, contemplating suicide several times, but she couldn't bear to leave her fifteen-year-old orphan. She

also thought that dying like this would be unjust, so it would be better to prolong her life until her son grew up before dying. Having made up her mind, Madam Lu fell into a deep sleep that night. The next morning, the servants brought news that the tutor had left without saying goodbye. Madam Lu felt guilty but didn't say anything, only asking that another tutor be hired. Later, when Scholar Lu achieved the highest rank in

the imperial

her deathbed, she gave no other instructions, only taking out one hundred copper coins, strung together with a red velvet thread. Everyone noticed the coins; they were worn smooth as jade, and the inscriptions were barely legible. At that moment, none of her children and grandchildren understood her intention. Madam

Lu suddenly sat up and said loudly, "I am now on my deathbed, but there is something that is stuck in my throat, and I must speak it out."

Scholar Lu, standing nearby, hurriedly asked what it was. Madam Lu replied, "I have a most important piece of advice that you must remember well. After my death, if any of my descendants die young, leaving behind widows, you must never allow them to remain chaste. They should be remarried immediately after the seven-day mourning period. Anyone who disobeys my dying wish is an unfilial descendant of the Lu family."

As she spoke, Madam Lu recounted in detail her unbearable widowhood and her elopement with the schoolteacher. After recounting this incident, she continued, "I was filled with anger and regret after being reprimanded by the schoolteacher, and I resolved to put the idea of 'eloping' out of my mind. But how could I endure the long, lonely nights in this desolate room? So I came up with a plan. I gathered a hundred coins, and every night when I couldn't sleep well, I scattered all one hundred coins on the ground. Then I blew out the lamp, knelt down, and picked up the coins one by one. At first, the coins were easy to find because there were many on the ground, but after picking up eighty or ninety, the coins were fewer, and they were scattered everywhere, making them harder to find."

"But I gritted my teeth and insisted on collecting all one hundred coins before I could sleep. Sometimes I would collect ninety-nine, bumping around for a single coin, getting bumps all over my head, but I didn't find it hard. Once I had collected all one hundred coins, I was exhausted and

would naturally fall asleep without a care in the world. I did this every single day of the year for over twenty years. Look at this thick coin, isn't it worn thin as paper from all the rubbing? This is the kind of hardship that comes with chastity, so if any of my descendants have a widow, I must make her remarry immediately. Do not force her to remain chaste, lest she commit adultery. It's better for her to remarry with dignity."

After saying this, Madam Lu gave her a few more instructions before passing away peacefully.

Scholar Lu was deeply saddened upon hearing this and wrote a biography of this story, which was enshrined in the Lu family ancestral hall. If any of the Lu family's descendants were to die young, regardless of whether they had children or not, all of them would be forced to remarry.

Some couples, deeply in love, would choose to remain chaste for their husbands, but the clan head had to persuade them to remarry. Others were determined to raise their children and couldn't bear to betray their former husbands; the clan head couldn't force them, so their parents-in-law would personally persuade them.

If they didn't change their minds after one or two years, their parents would then persuade them to remarry. If, after several attempts, their resolve remained steadfast, the clan would collectively contribute funds, donating forty acres of land, a house, and money to the chaste widow for her care in her old age and until her death. She would then separate from her parents-in-law and live alone, remaining chaste.

This clan custom of the Lu family in Jiangnan has been passed down to this day, unchanged for hundreds of years.

After listening to Li Se's story, Chu Liuguang felt her mind was in utter turmoil, a chaotic mess. She was incredibly intelligent and wise, but suddenly realized that some things were beyond her comprehension.

Li Se smiled and said, "Life and death are fate; their cycle of night and day is the way of Heaven. What man cannot control is simply the nature of things."

Chu Liuguang said blankly, "So you're so open-minded about it?"

Li Se smiled again, "What if I can't? I'm happy to have finished settling my affairs before I die! My heart is at peace, so there's no suffering! Actually, for those in the martial world, if they can calmly settle their affairs before death, that's a great blessing. Do you have any more questions?"

Chu Liuguang bit her lip and said, "No."

Li Se said, "Since that's the case, then so be it!" With that, she passed away peacefully.

That night, after Li Se went to see Wang Bao'er in the middle of the night, Gu Xiangjun had already sensed it, but she was too lazy to pay attention and continued sleeping. However, she didn't see Li Se all day, so she went to Wang Bao'er's room to look for him.

At first, Wang Bao'er thought it was a joke between Li Se and Gu Xiangjun, a trick to make her reconcile with Li Se. But when she realized it wasn't a joke, she accompanied Gu Xiangjun to search. However, not only was there no trace of Li Se, but Hua Ruxue had also vanished without a trace.

The two women initially remained calm, but after exhausting all methods to no avail, they began to panic. Even after sending many people to search everywhere for three days, they still had no clue.

On the fourth day, Wang Bao'er excitedly found Gu Xiangjun in the morning. Gu Xiangjun assumed she had good news, but Wang Bao'er said she had found a diviner with exceptional accuracy who could surely know Li Se's whereabouts. Gu Xiangjun was skeptical, so Wang Bao'er began to tell her a story.

When the Yongle Emperor first ascended the throne, everyone in the court said that the Minister of War, Jin Zhong, was skilled in divination. Jin Zhong was recommended by Daoyan and accompanied the army in divination, achieving remarkable results. He had made a significant contribution to the Yongle Emperor's rise to power.

Yang Shiqi, a former minister who had served the Jianwen Emperor, knew nothing about Jin Zhong. As a renowned Confucian scholar, he was unwilling to believe such things. However, the rumors in the court were truly rampant. Everyone said that Jin Zhong's divination was miraculous, reaching an almost supernatural level, and that he could even predict what others would eat in advance.

Yang Shiqi didn't believe it at all. Once, after court, Yang Shiqi said to Jin Zhong, "Tell me what I will eat tomorrow?"

Jin Zhong pondered for a long time before saying, "You will eat two plates of sticky rice cakes and twenty bowls of orange peel soup."

Yang Shiqi smiled and went home to have his cook prepare a meal, inviting court officials as guests the next day.

However, at daybreak the following day, an imperial edict summoned him to the palace. The Yongle Emperor said to him, "Today, Scholar Huang Huai presented some new glutinous rice and made sticky rice cakes. Just eat them!"

"I dare not refuse such a gift from the Emperor," Yang Shiqi replied, bowing in gratitude and eating with difficulty, barely managing to swallow in front of the Emperor.

The Emperor was pleased and said, "I see you're enjoying your meal; here's another plate."

Yang Shiqi had no choice but to finish it all. After returning home, he suffered a severe stomachache and couldn't eat anything except for orange peel soup, which helped until midnight.

He suddenly remembered Jin Zhong's words and asked his attendants, "How much orange peel soup did I drink?"

They replied, "Twenty bowls."

Yang Shiqi sighed deeply for a long time. (The last sentence is a separate

, unrelated story: Wang Bao'er, seeing that Gu Xiangjun still didn't believe him, used a grinding stone.) Gu Xiangjun had no choice. Seeing that Wang Bao'er had gone to such great lengths to persuade a high-ranking official to perform divination, she figured he had at least put in the effort. Besides, there was no harm in having his fortune told. So she reluctantly agreed.

Led by Wang Bao'er, Gu Xiangjun arrived at the Jin residence. Seeing its imposing grandeur, she became even more skeptical that the person she met could be a fortune teller. What high-ranking official could be a fortune teller?

Gu Xiangjun met Jin Zhong, and although he was amiable, she still didn't believe he could perform divination.

Jin Zhong asked, "Madam, what do you want to divine? Please write two characters!"

Gu Xiangjun hastily wrote the two characters "He Jiu" and said, "Please divine my husband's future."

Jin Zhong looked at it for a while and said, "It's easy to talk about becoming a marquis, but heroes still live as commoners. Everyone around is a merchant, and wealth and poverty are just a stone's throw away."

Gu Xiangjun was greatly surprised and thought, "Li Lang will definitely rise to prominence in the future, but for now he is still a commoner. This divination is really accurate; perhaps he really knows my husband's whereabouts!" She hurriedly said, "Master, your divination is very accurate. I want to know my husband's whereabouts. Please help me!"

Jin Zhong then cast a divination. Looking at the hexagram, he said, "Strange! I can't make a decision. I'll pray again." After praying, he switched to tortoise shell divination, cut a piece of tortoise shell, burned it, and said to the two women, "The person you asked about seems to be dead in the tortoise shell divination."

The two women were greatly alarmed and immediately begged Jin Zhong to help them decipher the divination.

Jin Zhong said helplessly, “One year, I went to Huayin County for an inspection. A local man named Li Meng had passed the imperial examination and was going to the capital to await his official appointment. When he arrived in Huayin County, the magistrate asked me to examine Li Meng's face, and lied to me, saying his name was Li Yi. After examining his face, I said, ‘I don’t think you will receive a salary from the court.’”

“The accompanying officials said, ‘He probably didn’t reveal his real name, so we couldn’t examine his face. Please, sir, recalculate. This man is Li Meng, a Jinshi, and is about to go to the capital to await his official appointment. Please see what position he will be appointed to.’”

“I asked Li Meng, ‘What position do you want to hold?’ Li Meng said, ‘I want to serve in Huayin County.’ I said, ‘You will definitely be assigned to Huayin County this time. However, judging from your face, you are not destined to serve as an official in Huayin. What should we do?’”

"No one believed me. But when Li Meng arrived in the capital, he was indeed appointed as the magistrate of Huayin County. The officials held a banquet on a boat on the Qujiang River to celebrate him, and his colleagues asked Li Meng to write a preface recording the event. By evening, the preface was finished. A man named Shi Hui got up first, took the preface from Li Meng, and read it. Later, Pei Shinan and more than ten others rushed to read the preface, causing the boat to veer to one side and capsize. Li Meng, Pei Shinan, and the others fell into the water and drowned." After

Jin Zhong finished speaking, he sighed, "How can man defy Heaven? If I had known how they would die, wouldn't I have told them? Bao'er and I are very familiar with each other. She brought her wife here. If I could help, I certainly would. It's a pity you came too late! If you had come earlier, with my current level of cultivation, perhaps I could have broken the curse."

Upon hearing this, Gu Xiangjun suddenly fell to the ground. She got up and was about to kowtow to Jin Zhong, begging for his help, when suddenly a man with a white face and black beard, dressed as a scholar, walked over, laughing loudly.

The man said, “I am Yuan Gong, his junior brother. Madam, do not worry. You have the countenance of a noble husband and prosperous children. The man you marry will surely rise to great heights and become incredibly wealthy. How could he be a short-lived ghost? I am not deceiving you. I, Yuan Gong, never lie. If you don’t believe me, ask that little girl.”

Wang Bao’er, who was also heartbroken and in tears, said happily, “Yes! Yes! He wouldn’t lie to us. Sister Xiangjun, we are saved.”

Yuan Gong said, “Go back! You will have news of your husband within three days. If I am wrong, please take my head.”

The two women thanked him profusely and returned home overjoyed.

Halfway there in the carriage, Gu Xiangjun suddenly thought, “Oh no, my husband and I have neither had a wedding ceremony nor a matchmaker. How can we be considered husband and wife? Li Lang… Li Lang, he…” She suddenly fainted. 03-02

7 Chapter 1 Reborn

Chu Liuguang picked up Li Se’s body and, in a daze, walked aimlessly towards the back mountain. She was under a spell cast by Wuyong, and although she deliberately endured it, the effort to make it realistic still resulted in serious injuries.

Arriving at a scenic spot in the back mountains, Chu Liuguang placed Li Se before a grave, knelt down, and kowtowed several times to the tombstone. After rising, he turned to look at Li Se's body. Seeing his peaceful, lifelike face, as if he were merely asleep, a sudden pang of pain shot through him. He murmured, "Brother Li, I've buried you next to Mother's grave. This place is beautiful; you should be content."

However, Chu Liuguang was still deeply saddened. He hesitated, unable to bring himself to bury Li Se's body.

After a while, Chu Liuguang said again, "Brother Li, I originally told you to listen to me and we agreed on three rules. But who told you not to listen to me? You tried to be a hero! I was going to show weakness to that thieving Taoist priest so I could have a powerful move to deal with him later, but you messed around. Look, you're dead now, so don't blame me."

Chu Liuguang became more and more agitated as he spoke, and simply sat down next to Li Se's corpse, looking at Li Se's face as he spoke.

Chu Liuguang continued, "Brother Li, we didn't know each other before. Although you wanted to save me, your intentions were good, but you still couldn't! Even if you didn't make things worse, do you know that in the end, it was that little Taoist priest Mingmei who got us out of trouble! Wuyong was about to use a powerful move, but Brother Mingmei carried him away before he could cast his spell. I wonder how angry he is now! He's probably spitting blood right now. Moreover, he didn't even get to use his magic, and his body is severely damaged. He won't be able to use his magic for at least three months! Haha, Brother, isn't that funny?"

Chu Liuguang chuckled for a while, laughing until tears streamed down his face, before finally stopping in a daze.

Suddenly, Chu Liuguang cried out, "Brother Li, don't blame me for being heartless, but we've only known each other for less than two days! Although I know a spell that might save you by sacrificing three years of my lifespan, I've been fighting for two days, and my energy is long gone. If I don't save you, I'm afraid I'll lose my own life. You...you have a wife now, and you're not my lover. Why should I risk my life to save you?"

Chu Liuguang finished sobbing, then suddenly stood up, broke off a tree branch, turned it into a small shovel, and chose a spot with excellent feng shui to dig.

He placed Li Se in the pit, covered him with soil, burying him up to his head and face. Suddenly, Chu Liuguang couldn't hold back anymore, covering his face and weeping bitterly, his cries so loud they made the peach blossoms pale and startled the birds.

Chu Liuguang's heart ached; Li Se's voice, appearance, and smile suddenly appeared before his eyes, bit by bit. Chu Liuguang recalled every word Li Se had said, thinking to himself, "He... he was so kind-hearted and extraordinary. He always thought of others, even in death, he thought of his beloved. He... he was so good to his wife, their love must have been deep. If Brother Li died here, I wonder how heartbroken his wife would be! A good man like Brother Li is a rare find in this world!"

Thinking of this, Chu Liuguang burst into tears. "Brother Li... he truly wanted to save me. Now that he's dead, is it possible to find someone in this world who would willingly give up their life to save me? Even if there were, would there be another man with his insight and sincerity? Even if I met someone a thousand times better than Brother Li, it still wouldn't be him! I... can I forget him? I... I..."

Chu Liuguang suddenly trembled, a flash of insight striking her mind. She understood something and murmured, "I understand, I understand! Why did Father and Mother, despite their deep love, still have another woman? It turns out that sometimes..." Fate is cruel! My mother was a competitive person, and in a fit of anger, she stopped speaking to my father altogether. My father begged my mother many times, but she refused to forgive him and even made me take her surname. But in recent years, my mother often stares blankly into space, saying inexplicable things: "A woman's most beautiful time shouldn't be spent with the one she loves most. Even if she teaches that unfaithful man a lesson, she's still the one who suffers in the end! Since she loves him, why not forgive him?"

In an instant, Chu Liuguang understood many things she hadn't understood before, and she felt a mix of sorrow, anger, joy, and worry. But should she risk her life to save the already deceased Li Se? Chu Liuguang was still undecided.

Chu Liuguang knew that she was facing one of the most important decisions of her life. When the choice came, she could neither back down nor run away, because whatever the outcome, she had to bear it. That outcome could neither be reversed nor avoided.

Chu Liuguang pondered her thoughts, and slowly her face calmed down, and her heart became more and more at peace. After an unknown amount of time, Chu Liuguang slowly removed the loose dirt from Li Se's body, picked him up, and smiled, "Brother Li, since you're willing to risk your life to save me, then I'll take the risk for you too! We owe each other nothing. I didn't save you because I like you! If it doesn't work, then we'll die together! Dying beside my mother's grave will put my mind at ease."

After saying this, Chu Liuguang dug out Li Se, helped him sit cross-legged, prepared some funeral arrangements, and then sat down in front of him.

The method of bringing the dead back to life, according to Taoism, is only possible for those who have committed grave sins and accumulated evil, and whose physical bodies are destroyed. Those who die a violent or premature death can be saved within a certain timeframe. However, this is a matter against the will of Heaven; the rescuer must sacrifice their lifespan, and it also depends on whether the deceased has accumulated good karma. The matter is complex and cannot be explained in a few words.

At this moment, Chu Liuguang extended his finger and touched Li Se's brow, then prayed and chanted an incantation.

After a while, he felt as light as a swallow, floating aimlessly, not knowing where he was going. All around him were clouds and mist. He kept walking forward, seeing only endless, boundless clouds rising and falling in the sky. Chu Liuguang thought, "Oh no, where is Brother Li? Why is it all clouds and mist? I can't see clearly!" Knowing this was an illusion, a mind-blinding technique, he chanted an incantation, and instantly his eyes brightened, allowing him to see the road in the distance.

Chu Liuguang saw a pavilion ahead, with carved railings and jade steps, extremely prosperous. The plaque on the door seemed to bear the three large characters "Yanluo Palace." He was overjoyed, knowing that Li Se was there. If he rushed there now and used some of the passed-down secret techniques, rescuing him wouldn't be difficult.

Chu Liuguang's spirits soared, and he rushed towards the pavilion. However, after a long time, the pavilion seemed to still be in front of him, yet he couldn't get close. Chu Liuguang was shocked and quickly used her magic to fly closer. She got a little closer, and the pavilion became clearer.

However, Chu Liuguang flew slower and slower, feeling weak and breathless, knowing her magic power was almost exhausted. But success was within reach; if she didn't persevere now, all her efforts would be in vain, and Li Se would be doomed.

Chu Liuguang gritted her teeth, tightly closed her eyes, then opened them again, concentrated, and flew up once more. The pavilion was closer now. Chu Liuguang knew that the closer she got, the more difficult it would be, but her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, tears streamed down her face, she yawned, and her body felt increasingly heavy. She just wanted to lie down and sleep.

Chu Liuguang gritted her teeth and desperately persevered. At this point, she could no longer fly; she could only stumble and fall forward.

Suddenly, Chu Liuguang collapsed to the ground, feeling as heavy as ten thousand pounds. She didn't want to get up anymore; she just wanted to lie down and rest.

A sliver of clarity remained in Chu Liuguang's mind. She knew that if she wanted to go back now, it wasn't too late; otherwise, there was no turning back. She had to succeed.

It seemed she had no choice but to fight desperately. Chu Liuguang made a silent resolution, biting her tongue hard. A sharp pain shot through her body, instantly clearing her mind. She sat up, dabbed the blood in her mouth with her hand, and concentrated on chanting a spell. But after only half a chant, she felt dizzy and her limbs became unresponsive.

Chu Liuguang thought, "That's it, I'm exhausted! What a pity!" Then she lost consciousness.

Perhaps it was only a moment, perhaps a long time. Suddenly, Chu Liuguang felt a warmth spread through her body, smelled an unusual fragrance, and felt incredibly comfortable and safe. Chu Liuguang slowly opened her eyes and saw a woman looking at her tenderly.

Chu Liuguang cried out in delight, "Mother, how come I see you? Where am I?"

Chu Liuguang's mother, Chu Lizhen, said kindly, "Silly child, don't you know what you're doing? This is the underworld. Why are you being so foolish? Is it worth it for a married man? Listen to me, go back! If I hadn't saved you, you wouldn't be able to go back now. You're young, in the prime of your life, and have many good days ahead of you! Listen to me, go back quickly, go back quickly!"

Chu Liuguang said joyfully, "Mother, since you've shown yourself to help your daughter, why not save Li Se as well? Just help me!"

Chu Lizhen said, "Silly child, I knew you would face this hardship, that's why I'm waiting for you here. My abilities are limited. If I were to save that boy, I would have to help you awaken your..." "Only with all your energy can you do it. But after you return to the mortal realm, you can only live for two more years at most, and you won't be able to use powerful spells anymore. If you become mentally exhausted, you'll either lose all your magic power or die immediately. Think about it—do you really want to save that boy?"

Chu Liuguang paused for a moment, then said resolutely, "Mother, please save him! I'm willing to do it. Even if I die right now, let alone have two more years, I'll be willing. What's wrong with accompanying you in the underworld?"

Chu Lizhen was stunned, knowing Chu Liuguang's temperament, and murmured, "Fate, alas! Is this really fate?"

After a while, she said to Chu Liuguang, "Child, putting aside the fact that he has a wife, what's so good about him? He's very stupid, not smart at all, and a reckless brute—when faced with a problem, he only knows how to act rashly." "You're out of your mind. With your powerful magic, how could you be defeated so easily? He couldn't even see that, and recklessly saved you, not only dragging you down but also causing his own death. Such a fool deserves to die. You don't need to feel guilty; you owe him nothing. Besides, there are plenty of men in the world more handsome and intelligent than him. Go find someone a thousand times better than him! That would be worthy of you. Few in the world can match your wisdom, but don't be foolish now."

Chu Liu's bright eyes flickered as he said, "Mother, I don't like him. I've only known him for two days; how could I like him? I saved him because he's honest, kind, and always considerate of others. He's not stupid! It's just that when he thinks of others, he forgets about himself; he considers others so much that he neglects and belittles himself." "Besides, he's only in his twenties! He's still a child, not mature at all. He'll be smart when he matures! Didn't you say that men don't mature until they're thirty? Otherwise, they never grow up and can only be treated like children!"

Chu Lizhen was stunned upon hearing this, and murmured, "Yes! Men don't just mature at thirty, they might not understand everything even at forty! I often say women are smart, and I pride myself on being exceptionally intelligent, but only now, in my old age, have I truly understood some things! What's the point of saving face! What's the point of fighting for pride for us women! It's all meaningless; in the end, it's just wasted years..."

Chu Lizhen remained silent for a long time before saying, "Child, do you really want to do this? Are you willing to give up your lifespan and magic power? You will never regret it?"

Chu Liuguang resolutely replied, "Please grant my request, Mother."

Chu Lizhen said, "I didn't expect you to still take this step. The two of you worked together to break the spell I painstakingly cast for you. It seems fate is unavoidable! Take care of yourself! As for your future, that's up to your destiny! But remember, don't overuse your magic, or you won't even live for two years." After saying that, he brushed his hand across Chu Liuguang's face, and Chu Liuguang knew nothing more.

The birds chirped and twittered, their sounds extremely clear and loud in the mountain forest. Li Se was awakened by the noise, and opened her eyes blankly. She saw birds singing and flowers blooming all around her, and a thin mist was swirling around her. She didn't know where she was.

Li Se remembered what happened before she lost consciousness and was very confused. She thought, "Could this be the underworld?" She sat up and suddenly saw a person lying on her lap. The person's body was extremely light, as if it had no weight, and there was a faint fragrance of a young girl.

Li Se was startled, thinking, "Who is she? Miss Chu?" He quickly helped her up and saw that she was an extremely beautiful girl, with a face as beautiful as a flower and the moon as beautiful as the moon, her beauty surpassing any beauty he had ever seen, and possessing a unique charm.

Li Se was stunned, staring blankly at the girl's face. After a while, Li Se murmured, "This is clearly Miss Chu, but why is the mark on her face gone? Could it be that she is also dead! This is the underworld, and the mark on her face disappears in the underworld?"

Li Se was extremely confused and couldn't understand. He reached out and gently touched Chu Liuguang's left cheekbone, feeling its soft and smooth texture, and his heart suddenly skipped a beat.

At the same time, Chu Liuguang, who was in Li Se's arms, suddenly giggled. Then she pushed Li Se's hand away, opened her eyes, and laughed, "It tickles! Why are you touching me like that!"

Li Se was so frightened that she quickly let go of Chu Liuguang and said, "Are we dead? Do dead people get ticklish?"

Chu Liuguang smiled sweetly and said, "How could we be dead! We're not dead! Of course we're ticklish!"

Li Se was stunned and said, "You saved me?" Then she suddenly jumped up and shouted, extremely happy. She ran around the forest a few times and did a few somersaults before coming to Chu Liuguang's side. She said excitedly, "Miss Chu, you are so good. You are simply a living god! You even saved me from such serious injuries! It's so good to be alive!"

Li Se suddenly escaped death and was extremely happy.

Chu Liuguang smiled and said, "It's nothing! But your injury has just healed. If you jump around like that again, your old injury might flare up. Even if I'm powerful, I won't be able to save you then."

Li Se was ashamed and quickly said, "How could that be? Your methods are superb. I heal quickly and won't flare up again." Although she said that, she dared not engage in any more strenuous exercise. Then she laughed and said, "Miss Chu, so you used magic to trick me just like the princess! You are both beauties, but you pretended to be ugly to fool me. I don't know what's so interesting about that?"

Chu Liuguang was stunned and said, "What?" She quickly took out a bronze mirror from her bosom. In the mirror, she saw that the skin on her left cheekbone was delicate and white, and there was no trace of the unsightly birthmark!

Chu Liuguang froze, suddenly remembering her mother's words before she fainted. She thought, "This red mark is a blessing mark my mother placed on me. When I was little, she said that even the heavens are jealous of those who are too clever, and won't let them live long, especially beautiful women. My mother must have ruined my appearance for that reason. But how can I break my mother's curse?"

Chu Liuguang pondered. She was intelligent and skilled in magic, and after a while, she suddenly understood. She thought, "I know! This spell requires someone to sacrifice their life for me, and then I must sacrifice my life for them. Only then can the spell be broken. My mother planned everything, thinking that I could never break such a difficult spell and that I would live a peaceful life. I never expected that heaven would let me actually meet him!"

Thinking to herself, Chu Liuguang turned and looked at Li Se with a sorrowful expression, her heart filled with both joy and grief.

Seeing the strange expression on Chu Liuguang's face, Li Se asked curiously, "Miss, what's wrong? You've become more beautiful, but are you unhappy?"

Chu Liuguang thought to herself, "How could you know? Although my appearance has improved, I only have two more years to live!" She feigned a smile and said, "I'm very happy! It's just that I suddenly became more beautiful, which is a little hard to believe."

Li Se smiled and said, "It's nothing, you'll get used to it in a few days!" Then she suddenly became shy and said, "This... um! Miss Chu, I have something I'd like to discuss with you. I don't know if it's presumptuous of me?"

Chu Liuguang smiled, took out a book from her bosom, opened it, took out two paper figures, and then gently blew on them, causing the two little paper figures to fly away.

Chu Liuguang laughed, "You want me to let them go, right?"

Li Se was overjoyed and said, "Exactly. But... how did you know, young lady?"

Chu Liuguang said, "It's nothing!" Then, playfully, she said, "Are you thinking to yourself right now: How clever this little girl is! And her magic is so high, I'll have to be careful in the future, I can't let her know everything I'm thinking."

Li Se scratched her head and said awkwardly, "No, no!"

Chu Liuguang ignored Li Se's words and said, "I almost lost my life to save you just now, so now that I'm alive and well, I empathize with her. Thinking that those two paper figures are also pitiful, I'll give them another chance to start over. If they do something bad again, Heaven will surely punish them severely."

Li Se heard this, and although she didn't say anything praising, her eyes were full of admiration. This made Chu Liuguang happier than if she had heard any praise.

After a while, Li Se suddenly walked to the tomb, respectfully kowtowed several times, and then got up and came to Chu Liuguang. Chu Liuguang asked, "What, are you leaving?"

Li Se wasn't surprised and replied, "Yes, that's right. I've troubled you for several days, and I feel very guilty for bothering you again. I've been unconscious for so long, I don't even know how many days have passed. Now that I'm alive again, I suddenly have many other thoughts in my mind. I want to leave the mountain immediately and return to the capital. My friends must be waiting anxiously."

Chu Liuguang smiled, thinking, "If they're waiting anxiously for you, who else could it be but your wife?" He didn't say anything, and said, "Alright. I've also been thinking about leaving the mountain! Brother Li, how about I go with you? Don't forget, you said you would treat me to many meals. How can you keep your promise if you don't take me out?" "?"

Li Se was taken aback, then overjoyed, saying, "Miss Chu, your idea is excellent. You're all alone here, how lonely you must be! It's much more interesting outside the mountains. You're so clever, and no one can deceive or bully you. You'll definitely have a lot of fun outside."

Chu Liuguang smiled and said, "So, you're willing to take me out?"

Li Se said, "Of course, don't forget, you're my savior!"

Chu Liuguang laughed and said, "You! You only think about owing others favors, why don't you mention that you saved me too!"

Li Se said, "It's all thanks to you, Miss. I didn't do anything. Let's go! Let's pack up and set off immediately, shall we?"

The two chatted and laughed as they went to pack. Once everything was ready, the two prepared to leave the mountain.

Chu Liuguang said, "Brother Li, it's inconvenient for men and women to be together. How about we become sworn siblings?"

Li Se said, "You're so clever, I hadn't even thought of that. I'd love to become sworn siblings with you, but... well..."

Chu Liuguang said, "Don't beat around the bush, just say what you want to say."

Li Se had no other choice but to tell her about Wang Bao'er's refusal to let him take on any more sisters, saying, "That little girl is very strange and stingy. I'm afraid she'll cause trouble after you go to her house."

Chu Liuguang laughed, "That's easy. Would you like to acknowledge me as your sworn sister? If you're willing, I guarantee I can make Wang Bao'er very happy and have her willingly acknowledge me as her older sister."

Li Se knew Chu Liuguang's abilities and, seeing that she readily agreed, knew she must have a good plan. She happily became sworn siblings with Chu Liuguang.

Li Se was eager to leave as soon as the matter was settled. Although Chu Liuguang had made up his mind to leave, he was still reluctant to leave the place where he had lived for many years.

As the two exited the valley, Li Se suddenly became cautious, saying, "Sister, an old woman is causing me trouble! We must be careful. Let's hurry so we don't run into her."

Chu Liuguang secretly checked his body and laughed, "Aren't we supposed to get to the capital quickly? What's so difficult about that!" He then gestured a few times on the ground and said to Li Se, "Please go first."

Chapter Two: Flowers Compete for Springtime Glory

Li Se took only one step and suddenly found himself in another world. He saw people coming and going all around him, a bustling scene of noise. It all seemed so real that Li Se was dumbfounded.

Li Se pulled over a burly man passing by and asked, "Brother, may I ask where this place is?"

The man sized Li Se up and said, "Are you perhaps a fool? Don't you know you're in the capital?" He then walked away with a strange expression.

Li Se froze, then suddenly heard a soft chuckle beside him. Turning around, he saw it was Chu Liuguang.

Chu Liuguang said, "Brother, I used the Shrinking Earth technique, we're in the capital now! Why do you doubt me?"

Li Se suddenly realized, grabbed Chu Liuguang's sleeve, and said, "Let's go, hurry. We're not far from the Wang family."

Li Se and Chu Liuguang were only halfway there when they were recognized and rushed towards the Wang family with a retinue. When they arrived at the Wang family's gate, Gu Xiangjun and Wang Bao'er were already waiting happily at the door.

Gu Xiangjun was overjoyed to see Li Se return safely, but suddenly she noticed a girl standing behind Li Se. Her skin was smooth, her face was pretty, and her demeanor was otherworldly, with a proud and clear spirit, possessing a particularly attractive charm.

Gu Xiangjun froze, and suddenly felt a pang of sadness. All

her excitement vanished instantly. Li Se was overjoyed to see Gu Xiangjun and Wang Bao'er. Seeing that Wang Bao'er was also extremely happy, he forgot about offending her last time and was even happier. He chatted and laughed with the two of them warmly. Just as Li Se introduced Chu Liuguang to the two women, he suddenly noticed four people behind Wang Bao'er exchanging strange glances and making odd faces.

Li Se was shocked to see this; the four were none other than Liang Gongchang and his three lecherous accomplices.

Li Se stopped arguing and hurriedly returned to Qixiang Residence. He said to Gu Xiangjun, "Xiangjun, Miss Chu is my savior. Please treat her well first. I have something to ask Bao'er."

Li Se pulled Wang Bao'er into the inner room and said, "Bao'er, what happened to those four strange fellows at your house? Did they bully you?"

Wang Bao'er laughed and said, "Brother, where did you go? I couldn't find you anywhere, so I asked those four to help me look. They just laughed and wouldn't say where you were, only that you were safe. I was so desperate that I went to look for you, but I couldn't find you. I didn't expect you to come back on your own. They are all your friends, playing with me. How could they bully me? Big brother, you're talking so strangely."

Li Se was stunned and said, "This... it's a long story. Anyway, you have to be careful of those four in the future. Also, don't let them stay at your house."

Wang Bao'er said, "Okay! But if they don't play with me, big brother has to play with me."

Li Se groaned inwardly but didn't dare to object.

The two returned to the front room and found Gu Xiangjun and Chu Liuguang sitting alone, their expressions cold and silent, creating an awkward atmosphere.

Li Se asked curiously, "Xiangjun, what's wrong? Why aren't you with Miss Chu? Why aren't you talking?"

Chu Liuguang quickly smiled and said, "Nothing, we just finished talking and can't find a new topic."

Gu Xiangjun, however, remained silent with a cold face.

Li Se knew something was wrong, and having escaped death, she also missed Gu Xiangjun dearly. She said to Wang Bao'er, "Sister, Miss Chu is my friend. Please arrange a good place for her to stay!"

Wang Bao'er, having heard Li Se mention that Chu Liuguang had saved her life and seeing Chu Liuguang's dignified beauty, felt a surge of affection for her. Hearing Li Se's instruction, she smiled and said, "Sister Chu, please come with me!" and pulled Chu Liuguang away.

Everyone else left. Seeing that Gu Xiangjun remained seated and silent, without a trace of a smile, Li Se was surprised. He said, "Xiangjun, I was kidnapped, but I didn't mean to leave you. What? Are you angry with me? But do you know? I almost lost my life to come back to see you!"

Gu Xiangjun raised her head and said sadly, "I was so scared, but not because I was afraid you would die. If that were the case, it wouldn't matter; we could just stay together in the underworld. I was afraid you would be captivated by another woman and leave me."

Li Se laughed and said, "Silly girl, what are you thinking! Miss Chu is my savior. This time, I was kidnapped by Xiaoxue's master—Grandma Tianshan—and it was thanks to Miss Chu that I was able to return safely." "She's here. She's my friend, don't overthink it. Be nice to her, and don't be rude! You weren't this petty before."

Gu Xiangjun was angry, thinking, "You've never called me petty to my face before. She just arrived, and you're already defending her!" She said defiantly, "Hmph! You may think that way, but she may not. I'm going to go see that girl now and see what she really thinks."

Li Se couldn't stop her, and seeing Gu Xiangjun walk straight away, she was stunned, thinking, "I escaped death, and I wanted to have a good time with Xiangjun, but I didn't expect to have a falling out with her when I got back."

However, Gu Xiangjun was gentle, generous, and well-mannered, and Li Se figured she wouldn't do anything outrageous. Besides, Chu Liuguang was very smart and figured he could handle it, so she didn't chase after her.

After a long time, Li Se was getting anxious waiting at home when suddenly a clear, crisp laugh came, and then three women came in, each one as beautiful as a flower, their voices like nightingales, making it quite lively.

Li Se was stunned to see Gu Xiangjun holding Chu Liuguang's left hand and embracing Wang Bao'er with her right, laughing and chatting intimately, a stark contrast to her cold attitude just moments before.

The three women sat down, and Gu Xiangjun scolded, "My lord, you're really outrageous! You actually deceived me and Bao'er. Liuguang has already sworn sisterhood with you, so she's family with us now. Why didn't you say so? I couldn't properly entertain her, it's so rude of you."

Before Li Se could even express his surprise, Wang Bao'er added, "Yes! Big brother, you've gone too far! You're always bullying me. I didn't want you to recognize other sisters, but Sister Chu is no ordinary person! She's beautiful, kind-hearted, and... Anyway! Why didn't you tell me sooner! Did you think I was some ignorant child? It's so infuriating! You're clearly looking down on me!"

Li Se was taken aback and said, "Ah! This... this is my fault! Don't be angry, I'm always so muddle-headed. Actually... anyway, it's all my fault, please forgive me!"

Li Se couldn't figure out the attitudes of Gu Xiangjun and Wang Bao'er, so he just stammered a few words and didn't dare to say anything more, quietly watching the three women chat and laugh intimately.

In a short while, servants laid out a sumptuous feast to welcome Li Se and Chu Liuguang.

Li Se, unsure of the relationship between the three women, remained silent and ate in quiet contemplation. She noticed that Gu Xiangjun and Wang Bao'er were extremely affectionate towards Chu Liuguang, seemingly afraid of neglecting her, constantly piling delicious food into her bowl.

This was fine, but the two women were also incredibly attentive to Chu Liuguang, asking in great detail about her daily life, advising her on this and that—some of which were matters of special importance between girls. Although they spoke in hushed tones, Li Se overheard a few words and, unable to bear it any longer, tried her best to close her ears.

After the banquet, while Gu Xiangjun and Wang Bao'er were directing the servants to clean up, Li Se quietly said to Chu Liuguang, "Sister-in-law, how did you appease Xiangjun and Bao'er? Why are they suddenly so affectionate towards you? What did you two talk about while I was away?"

Chu Liuguang smiled slightly and said, "I know magic! I used a charm spell, and they became nice to me!"

Li Se was dumbfounded and said, "Amazing, amazing! You're really amazing. You have such magic? I've never even heard of it."

Chu Liuguang covered his mouth and chuckled, saying, "Silly brother, I was just joking, and you actually believed me!"

Li Se stared wide-eyed, completely bewildered. At this moment, Gu Xiangjun and Wang Bao'er had some free time, so Li Se didn't press Chu Liuguang for answers.

A little while later, Chu Liuguang took her leave, and Wang Bao'er accompanied her.

Li Se then said to Gu Xiangjun, "Xiangjun, what were you saying to Miss Chu? Why has your attitude changed so much?"

Gu Xiangjun retorted, "A sworn sister is a sworn sister. What 'Miss Chu'? She's your family now. You must treat her well and not let her down." She then went on to ramble on about how to treat Chu Liuguang well, instructing Li Se to do as she was told.

Li Se was baffled, thinking, "Girls' minds are truly unfathomable."

Seeing that she couldn't get any answers, Gu Xiangjun continued to say that Chu Liuguang was pitiful and that she should treat her well. Li Se couldn't understand, and felt utterly bored.

Suddenly, Li Se remembered something and asked, "Xiangjun, where's that girl Hua Ruxue? What? Hasn't she returned yet?" Her heart pounded as she asked.

Gu Xiangjun said, "She disappeared the night you vanished! I thought you two eloped!"

Li Se's face turned pale upon hearing this, and he said, "Oh no, oh no. Could it be that she was captured by that old hag? She..." He spoke with deep regret, his heart filled with worry.

Seeing Li Se's great anxiety, Gu Xiangjun said, "My lord, don't worry. Tell me slowly, let's see what happened."

Li Se then told her how he met Granny Tianshan.

After listening, Gu Xiangjun laughed and said, "My lord, you don't need to worry. Miss Hua will be in no danger."

Li Se said, "Are you so sure? How do you know?"

Gu Xiangjun asked, "What is your relationship with Miss Leng?"

Li Se blushed and said, "What are you joking about at a time like this?"

Gu Xiangjun laughed and said, "I'm talking about serious matters. Think about it! Given your relationship with Miss Leng, how could she dare let her master kill Miss Hua? If she did, you would hate her for the rest of your life, and her happiness would be ruined. Therefore, no matter what, even if she dies, she will fight tooth and nail to protect Miss Hua."

Li Se felt a little relieved and said, "What nonsense! You girls are so strange. Just now you disliked Miss Chu! Suddenly you seem to feel sorry for her." I don't know what you're thinking.

Gu Xiangjun said seriously, "This is a secret, I can't tell you. Alas! Miss Chu is a very good person, I almost misunderstood her. Li Lang, listen to me, you must treat her well in the future, otherwise you will regret it."

Li Se laughed, "That's enough, don't cause me any more trouble. If it weren't for your meddling, I wouldn't have so many worries about Leng Ruxue, I'm not worthy of her at all. Miss Chu is my sworn sister, don't make any more mistakes and embarrass me." After saying that, he said seriously, "It's late today, if Miss Hua doesn't return tomorrow, I will go to find her. Even if I have to use every means, I will find her."

Gu Xiangjun said, "Okay, but I guess she will only come back when you return. I guarantee she will be home tomorrow."

Li Se sighed, "I hope so!"

(29) Flowers compete for spring light and comfort each other with their bodies.

At night, Li Se tossed and turned and couldn't sleep. Gu Xiangjun knew he was worried about Hua Ruxue and Leng Ruxue. Having said all she could, she could offer no comfort. So, naked, she nestled into Li Se's arms, seeking pleasure. Under Li Se's kisses, Gu Xiangjun's face quickly flushed a fiery red, unable to contain herself. Li Se's large hands caressed Gu Xiangjun's slippery, wet lower body. Gu Xiangjun's starry eyes were tightly closed, her beautiful, slender, snow-white legs writhing.

Li Se stared at the woman's flushed, shameless face, secretly sighing that she was truly a rare beauty. The chastity of a wanton woman and the wantonness of a virtuous woman are equally captivating to men. He opened his arms, pulling Gu Xiangjun tightly into his embrace, pressing his fiery lips against hers. Like a hungry wolf devouring a sheep, he forcefully pressed Gu Xiangjun's alluring body onto the bed.

Gu Xiangjun, thirsting and eager, responded passionately like a long-deprived woman, her small tongue entwining with Li Se's, sucking greedily and passionately. At the same time, Li Se's hands launched a fierce attack. His left hand tightly gripped Gu Xiangjun's firm breasts, occasionally gently kneading and pinching her nipples, which resembled ripe grapes. His right hand, meanwhile, explored upwards along her fair and rounded legs. Gu Xiangjun's slender legs began to tremble, her waist twisting like a water snake.

In an instant, Gu Xiangjun was panting heavily, her whole body aching and itchy, her legs spread wide apart. Li Se went even further, relentlessly teasing her full vulva. He especially rubbed and kneaded her clitoris, the most sensitive part of a woman's body, making her vulva unbearably itchy, and causing her to gush with lustful fluids.

Gu Xiangjun couldn't help but reach out and grasp his thick penis, kneading the glans hard. Her face was flushed, and she moaned weakly, "Husband... I... I can't take it... My pussy is so itchy... so sore... Xiang'er is going to die of lust... Ah..."

Seeing that the time was right, Li Se quickly spread her legs apart and knelt between Gu Xiangjun's lower body. He parted her thick pubic hair with his right hand and gently separated her two full, protruding labia with his left hand, his hand touching the wet and slippery surface of her vulva.

"Oh..." Gu Xiangjun gritted her teeth, staring at him with her alluring eyes, her breasts heaving rapidly, swaying wildly. "Hmph...husband...you're so bad...I...I want you...I want your big cock...uh...mmm...my pussy is so itchy...it hurts so much..."

Seeing Gu Xiangjun's wanton moans, Li Se was aroused, his cock throbbing wildly. He pressed against her labia, aimed at her pussy, pushed his cock, forced open the walls, and inserted it into her pussy. He immediately satisfied her needs, launching a deadly offensive, his hips rising and falling, followed by a frenzied thrusting. He grasped one of her full breasts in each hand, kneading and rubbing them vigorously.

This fierce thrusting was exactly what Gu Xiangjun wanted. The large penis thrust in and out of her small hole, making her tender hole swell to its limit, bringing her a wonderful, pleasurable sensation. A wave of fullness and tingling pleasure washed over her, causing her to moan wildly, "Oh...hey...husband...good...good...oh...thrust again...ah...my hole feels so good...hum...hum..."

Gu Xiangjun's breasts were being rubbed until they itched to the core, and she desperately pushed her buttocks upwards, grinding back and forth and side to side. Li Se also thrust his waist downwards with all his might, the clitoris inside her vagina being hit by the large glans, both tingling and pleasurable. Gu Xiangjun was so happy that she kept panting, "Good brother...oh...uh...big penis brother...I feel so...good...uh...oh...you're hitting my clitoris...oh...it's so sore..."

Hearing her moans of pleasure, Li Se quickly lifted her plump, pink buttocks and thrust his penis in and out forcefully. Gu Xiangjun's delicate vulva contracted and expanded as the large penis entered and exited, her vaginal muscles constantly churning and releasing. Each time the penis pressed down, a stream of white, lustful fluid was squeezed out of her tender opening, pressing against her buttocks and soaking the entire bedsheet.

"Ah...husband...ah...Xiang'er...I can...you can...play me to death...oh...that deadly big penis..."

Seeing her intense arousal, Li Se quickly straightened up and turned Gu Xiangjun's body over. Gu Xiangjun was now lying face down on the bed, and looking at her plump, white buttocks, Li Se felt an even stronger urge to penetrate her. He quickly leaned down, pressing against Gu Xiangjun's smooth back, parting her plump buttocks, his large glans finding the entrance to her vulva. With a thrust of his hips, his penis plunged in with a "plop."

Just as she was experiencing the ecstasy of pleasure, Li Se cruelly pulled his penis out of her vagina, leaving Gu Xiangjun feeling an immense emptiness that she could no longer bear. But when he turned her over and pressed down on her again, she regained that full, satisfying pleasure. A thick, long, extra-large penis pressed deeply against Gu Xiangjun's sensitive clitoris, and she immediately felt a tingling sensation throughout her body, involuntarily thrusting her hips back. With each movement, the large glans rubbed against her clitoris, making her throbbing clitoris feel incredibly pleasurable.

Unable to resist the tingling sensation deep within her, Gu Xiangjun moaned lasciviously, "Oh...oh...it's killing me...hmm...uh...it feels so good...it's so amazing...oh...Xiang'er...I can't take it anymore...

ha...faster

...I'm going to...ah...I'm going to ...

After a short rest, Li Se was eager to resume his efforts, but Gu Xiangjun pleaded sweetly, "Husband, I really can't take it anymore, please spare Xiang'er?"

Li Se chuckled and said, "I'm not full yet."

Gu Xiangjun covered her mouth and giggled, "You're like a hungry wolf, never satisfied."

Li Se laughed, "Then I'll be a hungry wolf again..." He then pressed down on Gu Xiangjun, showering her with kisses and caresses, using both methods simultaneously. This made Gu Xiangjun moan and gasp, her breasts trembling incessantly. Soon, she was filled with desire, her whole body trembling, and she cried out in a seductive voice, "Husband... don't do this to Xiang'er anymore... I can't take it anymore..."

Li Se spread her legs apart, revealing Gu Xiangjun's thick, black, long pubic hair, completely covering her mons pubis, with a barely visible slit below, wet and glistening with moisture, her labia minora opening and closing like a small mouth.

Li Se lowered his head and pressed his lips against her vulva, giving her a passionate kiss. He then licked and sucked her labia majora and minora with his tongue, exploring them before gently biting her clitoris with his teeth.

"Ah...ah...oh dear...husband...you're going to kill Xiang'er...oh dear..." Gu Xiangjun was licked until she felt itchy all over, her buttocks twisting incessantly. She grabbed Li Se's hair with both hands, thrusting her buttocks upwards and swaying from side to side. "Ah...oh dear...husband...Xiang'er can't take it anymore...you...lick...lick me so itchy all over...I want...to come..."

Li Se used his tongue to suck and bite, and a stream of hot, sticky vaginal fluid flowed out like a stream. She trembled all over, bent her legs, raised her buttocks even higher, and made her mons pubis protrude even more.

Seeing that she was already in need, Li Se mounted her, grasped his large penis, and first rubbed the glans against her mons pubis, making Gu Xiangjun cry out in unbearable itching, "Good husband... stop rubbing... it's so itchy inside... hurry... hurry up and put your big penis in... to relieve Xiang'er's itch... please... hurry..." Li

Se deliberately said, "Aren't you impotent?"

"You bad man... Xiang'er is almost dying of itching... and you're still teasing me... hurry up and put it in... it's driving me crazy... hurry... hurry..."

Li Se no longer hesitated and immediately aimed his large penis at her vagina and thrust it in hard. With a "whoosh," it went all the way in, the glans pressing against the depths of her flower core. Li Se began to thrust gently, and Gu Xiangjun twisted her hips to match his thrusts: "Mmm...so beautiful...good brother...Xiang'er's little hole...feels so good from your big cock...faster..."

"Oh...husband...your big cock is touching my clitoris...ah...Xiang'er is being...killed by your big cock...Xiang'er is going to give it to you again...oh...so good..." A gush of hot, lustful fluid shot out.

Li Se felt his glans being scalded by the hot, lustful fluid, feeling incredibly good, which stimulated his primal instincts to erupt. He switched to a more aggressive and forceful tactic, thrusting hard, grinding against her clitoris, using three shallow thrusts followed by one deep one, and inserting his penis from both sides, employing all his techniques. Gu Xiangjun tightly held him with both hands and feet, and the sounds of her lustful fluid as his big cock was pulled out and inserted, "plop," "plop," were incessant.

"Oh... good brother... I'm your precious little sister... oh... hurry up and fuck me to death... ah..." Gu Xiangjun started playing role-playing, using sexual fantasies to arouse Li Se's lust. Li Se never expected Gu Xiangjun to moan like this. He could only use strong thrusting to deal with such a lewd wife. Both of them felt an indescribable pleasure, so comfortable that they almost went crazy. Gu Xiangjun held Li Se tightly, twisting and shaking her buttocks violently.

"Oh... I'm Xue'er little sister... ah... husband... do you miss me?... I'm going to fly... husband... Xue'er can't take it anymore... again... again... ah..." Li Se thrust hard into her clitoris. Gu Xiangjun was no longer able to hold Li Se tightly. She lay limply on the bed, looking extremely charming.

When Li Se was thrusting with unparalleled pleasure, he saw that she suddenly stopped moving. He couldn't bear it. He spread her legs apart with both hands, lifted them onto his shoulders, took a pillow, put it under her big buttocks, and thrust his big meat stick in and out without mercy.

Gu Xiangjun, overwhelmed by Li Se's vigorous thrusting, swayed wildly, her hair flying everywhere, her whole body trembling, moaning lasciviously: "Oh... good brother... no... quickly put Xiang'er's legs down... ah... my flower heart is... is going to be pierced by your big meat stick... husband... I can't take it anymore... oh... I'll be killed by you... I'll die... I'm your little fox sister... ah... Yaoguang sister... ah... Liuguang sister..." Gradually, even Gu Xiangjun herself lost track of which of Li Se's sisters she was playing.

"Wife... just bear with it a little longer... I'm about to cum... move faster..." Li Se, driven by Gu Xiangjun's cries, only wanted to ejaculate to his heart's content.

Hearing this, Gu Xiangjun knew that Li Se was also about to reach his climax, and with her remaining strength, she desperately twisted her plump buttocks, using her vaginal muscles to suck and release the big meat stick. Li Se felt his penis being powerfully contracted and tightened by the tender flesh around it, an indescribable pleasure. His glans tingled with a numbing, itchy sensation. Unable to resist the tingling pleasure, he hurriedly lifted Gu Xiangjun's pink buttocks and, with a series of rapid thrusts, shot a stream of hot semen deep into Gu Xiangjun's secret cave…

“Ah…husband…Xiang’er…lost again…ah…” After the climax, the two naked men and women, still basking in the afterglow of the extreme pleasure of their union, collapsed limply into each other's arms. Gu Xiangjun's soft, limp body lay on the bed, covered in fragrant sweat, her breath sweet and delicate, her beautiful face flushed red, her cheeks rosy.

Before dawn, Li Se got up, and Gu Xiangjun followed, saying, “Why didn’t you sleep a little longer? It’s still early!”

Li Se replied, “I slept enough, so I got up. It’s nothing.” He got up and paced outside the door, feeling uneasy, wondering who could help him find Hua Ruxue.

Li Se was lost in thought when suddenly a figure rushed over, giggling, "Haha! I got here first!"

Li Se looked up sharply, overjoyed to see a beautiful woman—none other than the worried Hua Ruxue. But before he could even speak, another girl descended from the sky, angrily saying, "You promised not to use magic! You lied! My lord, where did you get such an annoying woman?"

Li Se was even more delighted, saying, "Ah! Xue'er, you're here too! I'm so happy to see you all back safe and sound."

Leng Ruxue was also happy to see her lover, pulling Li Se along, saying, "My lord, if it weren't for that girl, Grandma wouldn't be so angry. Come on, let's ignore her."

Hua Ruxue looked ... Filled with jealousy and resentment, and on the verge of tears,

Hua Ruxue rushed forward, grabbing Li Se's sleeve and saying, "Young Master, what's wrong with me? Why don't you like me? Now that she's here, do you no longer want me?" Seeing Hua Ruxue's eyes brimming with tears, about to spill, Li Se felt a pang of pity. He reached out and pulled her into his arms, saying, "You've helped me so many times; I'm deeply grateful. How could I not like you? I treat you like family." He then gestured to Leng Ruxue with his eyes, signaling her to be patient and not offend Hua Ruxue further.

Seeing Li Se's intimate gestures towards Hua Ruxue, Leng Ruxue, though frightened by Li Se's winks and accustomed to obeying him, was still furious at the sight of Li Se embracing Hua Ruxue. Just as

Leng Ruxue was about to erupt in anger, someone suddenly grabbed her, saying, "Sister, when did you arrive? Why don't you come inside? Your sister missed you terribly!"

Leng Ruxue recognized Gu Xiangjun as someone who had appeared beside her unnoticed, and was pulled away against her will.

Seeing that Hua Ruxue was no longer sad, Li Se released her and asked, "Where have you been these past few days? Hasn't that old woman been bothering us? Why, you came back with Miss Leng?"

Hua Ruxue smiled and said, "You don't know! I was injured by that old woman! Luckily, a Taoist priest saved me. That Taoist priest was so kind! He even taught me and Miss Leng some kung fu! By the way, he said he's your martial uncle."

Li Se exclaimed in surprise, "Martial uncle? He... where is he?"

Hua Ruxue said, "He left and told me not to mention him to you. He said you were in the capital today, so he told me to come back."

Li Se was happy, thinking, "Martial Uncle Tian Lingzi still cares about me. It's been so long since I've seen him, I wonder what he's been up to. Although he and Master seem to have some entanglement, he's still my martial uncle, and he still cares about me." Thinking of this, she felt a great warmth in her heart.

Li Se was afraid that Hua Ruxue and Leng Ruxue would quarrel, so she said, "Little sister, Miss Leng is my...good friend. You must treat her as well as your sister Xiangjun. I like you both very much, there's no difference. Besides, she's very childish, doesn't know how to talk, and is cold. Don't take it to heart. You're gentle and lovely, and you're very magnanimous, so just be lenient with her."

Hua Ruxue laughed and said, "Okay! I'm not that unreasonable! I'll just ignore her."

Li Se was relieved to hear this.

Inside the house, Gu Xiangjun recounted her sorrow at parting to Leng Ruxue, while also advising her, "Good sister, that Hua girl outside has helped Li Lang several times and is our good friend. Although she has a temper and speaks strangely, we don't need to offend her!

Li Lang actually loves you very much! He often thinks of you after you left. The three of us are not outsiders, so we don't need to worry about appearances. Hua girl is our guest, so we should be polite to her, shouldn't we?"

Leng Ruxue said, "I understand that, but when I see my husband with that vixen, I can't help but get angry. Since you say so, I will restrain myself in the future." She felt very wronged after saying this; with her personality, she was quick to fight or kill.

Gu Xiangjun smiled and said, "Sister, you are so sensible. No wonder you can lead Tianshan. You have such a magnanimous spirit."

Seeing that the little fairy of Tianshan looked unhappy, she changed the subject and started talking about everyday things, chatting about some interesting things about Li Se. The two of them were very happy, laughing continuously.

At this moment, Li Se and Hua Ruxue entered the room. Both Hua Ruxue and Leng Ruxue looked very unhappy, but neither of them said a word.

Gu Xiangjun smiled and said, "Sister Hua, come on, I'll take you to see a little sister. You'll definitely like her when you meet her. She's highly skilled in magic and very clever. I bet even your little sister might not be her match!"

Although Hua Ruxue didn't want to leave Li Se, she was not going to accept this, and said, "I don't believe it. There's a girl with more powerful magic than me. Sister, you must be lying to me!"

Gu Xiangjun pulled her away, saying, "Won't you know when you meet her? See if I'm lying to you?"

After Gu Xiangjun and Hua Ruxue left, Li Se and Leng Ruxue, the lovers, were reunited, and naturally, they were overjoyed.

Li Se embraced Leng Ruxue, saying, "Xue'er, I'm so glad to see you again. You don't know how much I've missed you, but..."

Leng Ruxue reached out her slender hand and silenced Li Se's words with a kiss, saying, "Me too! I longed to be by your side day and night. But Grandma wanted to kill you, thankfully nothing happened!"

Li Se said, "That's how it is in the martial world. If I were skilled, I wouldn't be afraid! Actually, it's not anyone else's fault, it's all my own fault for being too incompetent!"

Leng Ruxue blushed, saying, "Who said that! My lord is very skilled."

Li Se sighed inwardly, thinking, "What kind of skill is that?" But seeing Leng Ruxue's blushing face, so alluring, he couldn't help but be moved. Just

as the two were about to become intimate, they suddenly heard a knock at the door. The two were very impatient, thinking, "Who is this annoying person!" But they couldn't ignore it, so Li Se had no choice but to open the door.

Li Se never expected that the person who entered would be Old Wang, accompanied by several servants. After entering the house, he ignored Li Se and went straight to Leng Ruxue, showering her with praise and inquiring about the Tianshan Sect. It seemed he had a close relationship with the sect. Then he dragged Leng Ruxue to a banquet.

Although Leng Ruxue was helpless, she had no choice but to be led away, leaving Li Se all alone.

Li Se thought to herself, "Sigh! She holds a high position in the martial arts world and is naturally highly respected. What am I?"

Gu Xiangjun brought Hua Ruxue to Chu Liuguang's residence, where they found Wang Bao'er there. The two rested under a tree.

Upon seeing Hua Ruxue, whom she hadn't seen for several days, Wang Bao'er naturally exchanged warm greetings. After a while, Wang Bao'er laughed and said, "Little Hua, Sister Chu's magic is amazing! Uncle Jin's divination is incredible; he can predict what people will eat and even guess what's hidden under a blindfold. Sister Chu can do the same, and seems even more powerful. She knows quite a few powerful spells!"

Hua Ruxue, seeing that not only Gu Xiangjun said this, but even Wang Bao'er praised Chu Liuguang in the same way, felt jealous and thought, "Why not play a trick on her and let Bao'er see who's really stronger!" So she said to Chu Liuguang, "Since you're so powerful, then play with me!" After saying that, she chanted an incantation, secretly drew a talisman, and used an invisibility spell, instantly disappearing.

Gu Xiangjun and Wang Bao'er were about to express their surprise when Chu Liuguang said, "What's so surprising about that!" He rushed to Hua Ruxue, grabbed her ear, and laughed, "What kind of magic is that?"

Hua Ruxue was startled and said, "How can you see me? Why are you being so violent?" She then abandoned Chu Liuguang, used a magic trick, and disappeared again.

It turned out that Hua Ruxue possessed great illusion magic; she had embedded herself inside a large pine tree. To an ordinary person, they would only see the pine tree and not her.

Chu Liuguang looked around, walked to the base of the pine tree, and laughed, "If I were to cut you and the tree in two with one sword, where would you hide then!" He then pulled Hua Ruxue out.

Hua Ruxue was greatly alarmed, but still insisted, "If you have such a clever method, show it to me. Your ability to see through other people's magic is nothing special."

Chu Liuguang said, "Then I'll learn your invisibility technique. If you can see me, I'll become your disciple, how about it?"

Hua Ruxue said, "Then do it."

Fearing that Hua Ruxue could also see him, Chu Liuguang became invisible, but then secretly rose into the air. Hua Ruxue looked around, but couldn't see him. Finally, she looked at Gu Xiangjun.

Gu Xiangjun, unaware of Chu Liuguang's powerful magic, called out, "Sister, come out!"

Chu Liuguang replied, "I'm here."

Hua Ruxue heard the voice in the air, shaded her eyes with her hand, and looked up. She saw only a bright blue sky, without a single cloud, but she couldn't see Chu Liuguang anywhere.

Hua Ruxue, pure of heart, was now utterly impressed, exclaiming, "What a wonderful technique! What a wonderful technique! Sister, please come out!"

Chu Liuguang gently landed in front of Hua Ruxue, revealing his form, and said, "Why can't you see? Your eyes have been clouded by material desires!"

Hua Ruxue hurriedly said, "Ah! Then sister, please teach me! I'll become your disciple!" She was about to bow down when

Chu Liuguang quickly smiled and helped Hua Ruxue up. Wang Bao'er, having recovered from her surprise, also wanted to learn magic from Chu Liuguang.

Chu Liuguang said, "My magic is limited. A little instruction from time to time is fine; there's no need for formal apprenticeship."

The two women were delighted.

Seeing Chu Liuguang's unparalleled elegance, Gu Xiangjun thought, "Sister Chu is truly a prodigy—beautiful, intelligent, and kind-hearted. It's just a pity..."

Chapter Three: Observing Subtle Signs.

Leng Ruxue received a very grand reception at the Wang family's residence. After the banquet, she was arranged to stay in an extremely luxurious and comfortable courtyard.

Everyone knew that the Tianshan Sect and the Wang family had a close relationship, and the Tianshan Sect wielded considerable power in the martial arts world, so Leng Ruxue attracted much attention.

However, Leng Ruxue then made an extraordinary move, which could be said to have shaken the capital.

In Leng Ruxue's residence, she openly lived with a man, without any attempt to conceal it. Of course, this was not the biggest reason for the shock; the most important reason was that this man was married, and it was rumored that he would become the leader of the six major sects. This was nothing special, but not long after he arrived in the capital, he was favored by many ministers in the court and received personally. First, the emperor's youngest beloved daughter, Princess Wushuang, visited him, and then the Crown Prince personally went to the Wang family to request an audience with him. Who had ever received such special treatment?

News travels fast in the capital, and the fact that the famously cold and beautiful Leng Ruxue had disregarded her status to submit to such a man immediately spread throughout the capital. Of course, this was just the beginning, but it was enough to spark discussion about this man.

In a small study, Old Master Wang sat in his armchair and sighed, "Son, what's wrong with that little fairy from Tianshan? She's openly living with that brat Li Se! What kind of nonsense is this? The Tianshan Sect was supposed to withdraw from the six major sects, but now there's been no movement. And now Miss Leng is doing this too. Has Granny Tianshan seen the six sects climbing the social ladder to the Crown Prince and changed her mind? Li Se's methods are truly astonishing. He hasn't done anything, yet he's stirred up such a storm in the capital."

Wang Rong said, "Father is right. I pride myself on having seen many people, but Li Se is indeed a talent. He's valued by so many for a reason." His gaze sharpened as he finished speaking. Although he was quite fat, his demeanor was now radiant; he was no fool who didn't understand the ways of the world!

Old Wang gasped, sighing, "Others are one thing! But why is Bao'er so desperate to be with him? He already has a wife, and then there's Leng Ruxue. Bao'er isn't stupid, why is she still going after him? Could it be... could it be that when Bao'er went to Hangzhou, that brat Li Se... humiliated her?"

Old Wang then pounded his heart and cried, "That must be it! I even asked that damned Leng Ruxue to look after Bao'er, so I felt safe letting her go to Hangzhou! I never expected her to do such a disgraceful thing. I, as her father, have failed in my duty!"

Wang Rong quickly said, "Father, don't worry, Bao'er is perfectly fine. Didn't you see how she walked? She's still a young woman waiting to be married!"

Old Wang immediately stopped, stunned, "That's right, I'm really getting senile. But why doesn't Bao'er like so many rich and powerful men?" "A handsome young master, why does he have to like that rascal Li Se? No, these past few days, this girl has been fooling around with those maids Li Se brought; it's definitely not a good thing. I'll tell Bao'er to stop being with them in a moment. No matter how heartbroken she is, I can't let her continue. I have to take responsibility as a father."

Wang Rong said, "Father, wait a minute. I don't think this is necessary."

Old Master Wang said, "Oh? What? This is a major matter concerning our Wang family. Bao'er doesn't understand, but we know that while there's still time, we can't let her make a mistake and ruin her life."

Wang Rong said solemnly, "Father, my thoughts are the opposite of yours. I think if Bao'er is with Li Se, it might not be a bad thing for her or for our Wang family."

Old Master Wang's heart pounded; he had always trusted and valued his only beloved son. Wang Rong was exceptionally intelligent from a young age, but he pretended to be a simpleton, making other merchants careless and thus less wary of him. This allowed the Wang family to make a lot of money, and outsiders even attributed it to Wang Laocai. In fact, in recent years, most of the Wang family's business has been managed by Wang Rong.

Old Wang was stunned for a long time before saying in horror, "You mean..."

Wang Rong solemnly said, "That's right. We have worked diligently for our sect for decades. We have caused financial crises several times and almost ruined our family. We have made great contributions to the sect. Now, although the sect is very powerful now, it is extremely difficult to truly control the government and make our sect shine throughout the world. Now, who isn't thinking about their own future? Why don't we take this opportunity to leave a way out for our Wang family? Besides, Bao'er's happiness has been shattered by us, and we can't bear to make her unhappy for the rest of her life. Li Se is an extraordinary person and is definitely trustworthy. Moreover, his backing is so strong. It would be very unwise of us to treat him as an enemy."

Old Wang thought it made sense and said, "This matter is very important. Let's discuss it carefully!"

After Leng Ruxue came to the Wang family, she and Li Se had been separated for a long time. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and they were naturally inseparable. Fortunately, Hua Ruxue and Wang Bao'er were busy learning magic from Chu Liuguang, so the situation was better. Otherwise, Li Se would have been entangled to death by the women.

(30) Passionate and crazy, changing positions and shooting into pairs.

Li Se has been busy lately and has not had much time to be intimate with Gu Xiangjun. With beauties like Hua Ruxue, Bi Ning, Zhu Wushuang, Chu Liuguang, and Leng Ruxue teasing and swaying in front of him, his desire has been pent up. Gu Xiangjun can hardly bear his increasingly strong sexual desire. Leng Ruxue's return is just the best.

The two have not been intimate for too long. After a tender moment, their hearts have been aroused. Then, when their skin touched, their passion was raging. How could they hold back?

Li Se pressed Leng Ruxue down on the bed, buried his head between her breasts, kissed her several times, and held her breasts with both hands, rubbing them back and forth.

Leng Ruxue let out a few soft moans, feigning resistance while allowing him to taste her beautiful breasts. She was sweating profusely, shyly moaning softly. Li Se deliberately pressed down on her large, white breasts, causing her nipples to slowly harden. Leng Ruxue began to pant, her moans echoing in the room. Her breathing quickened, her voice becoming increasingly indistinct. Under Li Se's urging, her pale pink nipples stood erect like two cherries. Her crotch was overflowing with love juice, her entire body soaked, as if she had just been pulled from the water.

Leng Ruxue's thirst seemed to be on the verge of collapse. She glanced at Li Se's erect penis, its large glans swollen and purplish. She felt herself becoming wet. After Li Se gently removed her hands from her breasts, she felt nowhere to put them, and could only grab his penis—so thick, so hot, so long.

Li Se caressed Leng Ruxue's breasts, kneading them with both hands until his hands stopped on her nipples. He was so excited that Leng Ruxue's hands moved up and down in response, making Li Se's penis even harder. Then Li Se began to kiss Leng Ruxue's nipples, his tongue circling them. It felt wonderful. Leng Ruxue couldn't control her pent-up desire any longer and plunged her head into Li Se's crotch, sucking on his penis with her mouth, her lips tightly gripping it as she moved it up and down.

At this moment, Li Se changed positions, licking Leng Ruxue's clitoris. Leng Ruxue didn't have much pubic hair, only on the top; there was no hair on her clitoris or labia. Li Se immediately took her clitoris into his mouth, his tongue constantly swirling around it. Leng Ruxue's sucking speed increased.

Li Se had her completely exposed, then he raised her left leg high, turning her body to one side, her legs wide open, allowing him to admire his lover's private parts, and reaching out to touch her swollen clitoris. Hua Ruxue trembled violently and moaned softly, "No..."

Looking at her soaking wet, delicate and charming appearance, Li Se was already impatient to relive the pleasure of Leng Ruxue's beautiful body. Hearing Leng Ruxue cry "No," how could Li Se refuse? Li Se said, "I'm going in." Leng Ruxue nodded shyly, lay flat on her back, spread her legs, and raised her knees. Li Se's penis rubbed back and forth at the entrance of her vagina. Her vaginal fluids flowed freely. His penis thrust into her, penetrating between her two tender red lips. The glans entered little by little, and then the entire penis was inside. Leng Ruxue felt that familiar feeling of fullness return.

Leng Ruxue cried out "Ah!" Her back arched, all her muscles tensed, and her lower body tightened, tightly gripping the long-missed penis. Li Se slowly thrust a few times, and Leng Ruxue cried out "Uh, ah!" a few times, her eyes burning with excitement. Li Se's thrusts became faster, and Leng Ruxue's cries became even more intoxicating, almost incoherent.

Li Se leaned down and kissed Leng Ruxue's lips. Leng Ruxue happily returned the kiss; it was a long-awaited lip kiss for her. She gently extended her tongue to Li Se, who sucked it in as if trying to draw it into his mouth. His penis, accompanied by the smooth love juice, thrust in and out of her vagina, the barbs on the glans scraping against the vaginal walls. Her vagina contracted and expanded, squeezing and being squeezed. Absence

makes the heart grow fonder, and Li Se was particularly aroused during this passionate encounter. He held Leng Ruxue's beautiful legs and thrust violently, the sounds of his penis entering and exiting filling the air. Leng Ruxue blushed, gripping the sheets tightly, but still unable to maintain her balance. Li Se's thrusts sent her tumbling back and forth, her breasts swinging wildly.

After hundreds of thrusts, Li Se changed his position, lowering the legs in his arms and picking up the panting Leng Ruxue. They sat facing each other, with Leng Ruxue's legs straddling Li Se's, their lower bodies tightly joined. Li Se tightened his grip on her slender waist and thrust forcefully. Leng Ruxue threw her head back and cried out in a trembling voice, the thrust reaching straight to her heart. Waves of love juice flowed from her tender vulva.

Li Se freed one hand to play with Leng Ruxue's breasts, his fingers gently pinching her nipples.

Leng Ruxue's eyes were brimming with desire as she shook her head desperately, panting, "Don't... so hard..."

But despite her cries, her body reacted differently. The muscles between her thighs clenched tightly, and her tender inner walls sucked on his penis, allowing Li Se to penetrate her core again and again. Enjoying the soft, supple female body, he felt an indescribable pleasure.

After countless thrusts, Leng Ruxue was already in a daze, her mouth uttering soft moans, her face flushed. She clung to Li Se's neck, her shapely body trembling violently under the thrusting of his penis. Her full breasts pressed against Li Se's body, constantly being squeezed and deformed. Their sweat added to the lubrication; whenever Li Se thrust too hard, Leng Ruxue would arch her back, her breasts jiggling slippery, making Li Se dizzy and aroused, thrusting even more vigorously.

Leng Ruxue slowly regained her lust, beginning to moan uncontrollably, her expression dazed, nearing climax. Leng Ruxue arched her back, her hands on Li Se's knees, repeatedly raising her full buttocks, her vagina constantly swallowing and releasing his hard penis.

Li Se suddenly felt her lower body contract repeatedly, and a wave of pleasure washed over him. He couldn't help but release his semen, a hot stream shooting out, and he pressed Leng Ruxue down, leaning forward to passionately kiss her cherry lips.

Despite being pinned down by Li Se, Leng Ruxue's body throbbed like a fish, making rapid, nasal sounds as she returned Li Se's kisses. At the same time, her hands pressed firmly against Li Se's back, her waist trembling slightly, and a series of "plop plop" sounds emanated from her lower body. Her crotch was soaked with a sticky fluid, which had pooled on the bed; thankfully, a mattress protector had been prepared beforehand.

Li Se propped himself up and slowly withdrew from Leng Ruxue's beautiful body. His penis was covered in a thick, white fluid. As he pulled out, several thin strands emerged from her tender opening. They snapped, the upper half slowly rising, while the lower half remained stuck to Leng Ruxue's pink vulva. The opening couldn't close immediately; her labia were everted, and a large amount of semen gushed out. Leng Ruxue collapsed onto the bed, panting heavily, her expression still dazed. She murmured, "Husband...I want more..."

Li Se, seeing Leng Ruxue's dazed and intoxicated state, and noticing her wet body and skin glistening with a lustful sheen, was aroused again. His recently satisfied desire reignited, and he thrust his penis towards Leng Ruxue's lips. Leng Ruxue, looking at the slightly limp penis, blushed. She parted her lips and kissed it, first gently licking the sticky fluid with her tongue, then taking the shaft into her mouth and sucking it back and forth, her actions like a docile kitten.

The penis carried the taste of semen and her own vaginal fluid. Leng Ruxue diligently sucked on it, stroking Li Se's testicles with her hand. She dared not use too much force, fearing it would be too much for Li Se.

Then Li Se said, "Let me lick it for you too."

Leng Ruxue said, "It hasn't been washed yet."

Li Se said, "I like it."

Li Se lay flat on the bed, with Leng Ruxue on top of him. Leng Ruxue was on top, diligently sucking his penis. Li Se continuously licked Leng Ruxue's clitoris, and Leng Ruxue felt something flowing out of her vagina.

Leng Ruxue said, "I can't take it anymore, I'm going to come."

Li Se continued licking and sucking, then lifted Leng Ruxue up and kissed her. Leng Ruxue's lips parted slightly, and Li Se's tongue entered, carrying the strong taste of semen. Li Se's tongue slowly fed the mixture of semen, vaginal fluid, and saliva into Leng Ruxue's mouth until it was full.

Li Se said, "Let's share."

Li Se brought his mouth closer, and Leng Ruxue put half of the mixture into Li Se's mouth. They looked at each other, involuntarily swallowing the mixture together, opening their mouths and sticking out their tongues for each other to see. They smiled involuntarily at each other and embraced again.

They embraced for a while, talking and caressing each other. Li Se was very aroused, and his penis became hard again. Leng Ruxue grasped the hard penis with both hands as if it were a precious treasure. Li Se knew that Leng Ruxue wanted to release all the pent-up emotions from their separation tonight. Sticky fluid kept coming out of the head of his penis. Leng Ruxue would occasionally spread the fluid with her palms, then slide her hand up and down his penis. The glans swelled even more, and Leng Ruxue's lower body was also aroused.

Served so tenderly by his lover, Li Se's blood boiled again, and his lower body quickly regained its strength and gradually became hard again. He stroked Leng Ruxue's head, thrust his waist forward, and put his large penis into her small mouth.

Leng Ruxue squinted her eyes, took the penis into her mouth, and kept moving her head, a trace of saliva dripping from the corner of her mouth.

Seeing her sucking so sweetly, Li Se felt his morale soar, his lower body throbbing to its limit. He quickly withdrew his wet penis and laughed, "Xiao Xue, I'll fuck you from behind."

Leng Ruxue pursed her lips, licked her tongue, and breathed softly, looking impatient.

Li Se then flipped her over, cupped her plump buttocks, and attacked her from behind. Leng Ruxue was kneeling on the bed, her upper body already prone, her breasts pressed against the bed, her buttocks raised high, moving with Li Se's thrusts.

This time, Li Se was even more vigorous, his penis thrusting forcefully, plunging left and right in Leng Ruxue's wet and narrow vagina, each thrust causing her juices to splatter everywhere. After dozens of thrusts, Leng Ruxue was already panting heavily: "Slower, slower... ah, ah..."

Li Se laughed: "Okay, slower then." The withdrawal was slower, but the thrusting became faster, a combination of slow withdrawal and rapid thrusting, making Leng Ruxue's cheeks flush even more, and she cried out in pleasure, leaving no room for restraint.

Before long, Li Se changed positions again, lying down himself and letting Leng Ruxue straddle him, in an upside-down candle position. Leng Ruxue's hair was disheveled, her lips exhaling fragrant breath, she was already weak and powerless from being fucked, sitting on Li Se, looking delicate and about to collapse, her hands supporting her chest, panting softly.

Li Se arched his upper body slightly, grabbed her waist, and started to move for her. Leng Ruxue bit her lower lip lightly, swayed her body a few times, and then revealed an intoxicated expression, looking at Li Se hazily, and began to move her hips herself.

Her full breasts swayed incessantly, her private parts swallowing the large, thick penis, each time it reached its hilt. Not only did Li Se experience immense pleasure, but Leng Ruxue herself cried out softly, her face filled with ecstasy.

After a while of this intense battle, Leng Ruxue was once again on the verge of climax, twisting her slender waist and moaning, "I...I can't take it anymore...Husband, come quickly...ah..."

Li Se, however, had already released a great deal and had no urge to ejaculate again. He simply smiled, letting her move wildly, his hands playing with her breasts. Leng Ruxue felt that the penis inside her wasn't about to ejaculate, fearing that Li Se wasn't satisfied. She gritted her teeth and endured the heat that made her feel almost melting, striving to resist the urge to climax. Instead, she clasped Li Se's hands tightly, squatting down and moving her hips up and down to take in his penis.

Li Se noticed the muscles in her tender orifice contracting rapidly, making a sizzling sound. Seeing Leng Ruxue's unbearable expression, he laughed and said, "Xue'er, give it your all!" Leng Ruxue shook her head wildly, her beautiful hair flying everywhere, crying out as if she were about to cry, "I... I really can't take it anymore... Ah... You... Ah..." After a while of screaming, her body was extremely aroused and she could no longer hold back. Suddenly, she lay on top of Li Se, offering her entire delicate body to him, twisting with all her might, and crying out lasciviously, "Husband, come quickly... I... I really can't take it anymore! I... Ah..."

Amidst her moans, Leng Ruxue collapsed on top of Li Se, unable to withstand the impact of his penis, and finally came. Her soft body continued to writhe, pressed against Li Se, and she moaned repeatedly. Seeing her ecstatic expression and feeling the intense friction against his lower body, Li Se felt a surge of intense pleasure. He tightly embraced Leng Ruxue, thrusting upwards a few times, and once again ejaculated a large amount of semen, filling her delicate honeyed orifice...

After several passionate encounters, Leng Ruxue drifted into a deep sleep. Li Se gently stroked his lover's skin, tucked her in, and gazed at her sweet sleeping face, his heart filled with tenderness.

From leaving Maoshan to returning to the capital, Li Se had only been gone for a few days. Although several people missed him, one person was particularly restless, her thoughts swirling, quite different from the others—this person was the talented Xue Yaoguang.

Since meeting Li Se, Xue Yaoguang felt he was unfathomable, seemingly simple yet wise, and remarkably humble. Moreover, he was strange, acting very differently from other men, which made her take notice. However, Li Se already had a wife, leaving Xue Yaoguang helpless and bewildered.

Suddenly, Li Se disappeared. At first, Xue Yaoguang was overjoyed, thinking she wouldn't have to see him anymore, relieving her of a troubling worry. However, when Li Se suddenly returned, bringing two beautiful women with him, and becoming extremely intimate with one of them, causing a sensation throughout the city, Xue Yaoguang was filled with anger and hatred, even wanting to kill Li Se to vent her anger.

Xue Yaoguang pondered this for several days, until one day she suddenly realized, "Could it be that I've fallen for him, which is why I'm so jealous of him? Otherwise, even if he has a harem, what does it have to do with me?" After realizing this, Xue Yaoguang secretly cursed herself for being so weak-willed, falling for such a man. Finally, she thought, "I must not understand him, which is why I'm so infatuated with him. If I understood his character clearly, I wouldn't like him. Who in the world is as intelligent and perfect as my father, capable of captivating me?" Having made up her mind, Xue Yaoguang felt relieved, and her mind became sharper.

Xue Yaoguang remembered the four guests Wang Bao'er had suddenly invited in recent days, three of whom were the lecherous thieves who had captured her. However, Xue Yaoguang noticed the four men were quite close to Wang Bao'er and couldn't understand the reason. Moreover, the power dynamics in the capital were complex, and she couldn't act rashly; otherwise, she'd only invite trouble and end up with a hot potato, gaining nothing in return. It would be better to figure out the reason first before taking action.

After thinking this through, Xue Yaoguang ordered her men to keep a close eye on the four lecherous men while simultaneously gathering information.

Wang Bao'er and Hua Ruxue were learning magic from Chu Liuguang. That day, Hua Ruxue was busy with Li Se, so Wang Bao'er couldn't get close and went to find Chu Liuguang in a huff.

The two girls chatted privately, discussing girly topics like beauty and skincare. After a while, Wang Bao'er grew tired of it.

She learned some magic from Chu Liuguang, but after a few days, because it was too difficult to learn and her curiosity had faded, she became less interested.

Seeing Wang Bao'er like this, Chu Liuguang smiled and said, "Sister, what's wrong? Is something bothering you?"

Wang Bao'er said listlessly, "You're with another woman, how could you know I'm feeling down?"

Chu Liuguang chuckled and said, "So you're just bored! Shall we go for a walk?"

It turned out that Wang Bao'er was telling a riddle. The answer to the first line was the character "好" (good), and the answer to the second line was the character "闷" (bored). Chu Liuguang was extremely clever and guessed it immediately.

Wang Bao'er excitedly grabbed Chu Liuguang's hand and said, "Ah! Sister, you're so clever! You can even guess riddles right away!"

Chu Liuguang laughed and said, "I just happened to know. What do you like to do, little sister? Let's go play! The weather is sunny, and we're free and carefree. Isn't that great? Why are you so bored?"

Wang Bao'er was taken aback, lowered her head, and twisted the hem of her clothes with her small hands, thinking, "That's right! What do I like?" After thinking for a while, she said blankly, "It's not black, it's not white, it's not red or yellow either. It's like a fox, a cat, or a dog, neither a domestic animal nor a wild beast; it's in poems and lyrics, and it's in the Analects. It's vague about east, west, south, and north. Although it's a short piece, it's a wonderful piece."

Chu Liuguang said, "So you like riddles, little sister. Then I'll keep you company. Come on! Don't be bored."

The answer to Wang Bao'er's riddle was the word "guess" in the first line and the word "riddle" in the second line.

Seeing that Chu Liuguang was very clever, guessing two riddles in a row, Wang Bao'er, being young and simple-minded, was excited to suddenly encounter a riddle-solving expert. She put her worries aside and happily exclaimed, "Sister, you're so good at riddles! Hehe! I love it!" She challenged Chu Liuguang to a riddle: "Round when drawn, square when written, short in winter, long in summer. What is it?"

Chu Liuguang smiled slightly and said, "There's a fish in the East Sea, without head or tail, and if you remove its spine, that's your riddle."

Wang Bao'er laughed, "Sister, you're so amazing!" It turned out that the answer to both of their riddles was the character "日" (sun).

Wang Bao'er then said, "There's no water in the pond."

Before she could finish the next line, Chu Liuguang said, "There's no mud on the ground."

Removing the water radical from "池" (pond) gives "也" (also), and removing the earth radical from "地" (ground) also gives "也." Wang Bao'er wasn't surprised that Chu Liuguang guessed the answers, but knowing them so quickly was truly amazing, and she was pleasantly surprised.

Chu Liuguang had actually been at the Wang family's residence for several days, carefully observing the people and people around her and getting a general idea of what was going on. Wang Bao'er was very naive; her thoughts were always written on her face. Chu Liuguang had already guessed her thoughts, and to cheer her up, the two started playing riddles.

Wang Bao'er posed many riddles, which Chu Liuguang easily solved. Wang Bao'er was unwilling to give up, but after more than an hour, she still couldn't stump Chu Liuguang.

Finally, Wang Bao'er sighed, "I'm convinced! I'm convinced! Sister is truly amazing. I've met so many people, but none are as amazing as you. Sister is truly the smartest person in the world, with magic powers and intelligence. However, I'm also very good at solving riddles; if you can stump me with a riddle, I'll truly be convinced."

Chu Liuguang said, "I know you're clever and quick-witted, little sister. But stumping you isn't difficult; there are some things you haven't seen before!"

Wang Bao'er was not convinced and angrily retorted, "Sister, you're just boasting! You are indeed smart, but am I stupid? I don't believe it!" "I'm fifteen already, and you still call me a child? Sister, hurry up and give me the riddle, I'll show you how clever I am, and see if I'm still a child after all."

Chu Liuguang said, "Alright, then listen carefully. Actually, it's okay if you don't know the answer. My little sister is innocent, it's better if she doesn't know some things!"

Wang Bao'er said angrily, "Tell me, tell me! Sister, stop nagging."

Chu Liuguang said, "Alright then! What water has no fish? What mountain has no stone? What person has no father? What woman has no husband? What tree has no branches? What city has no market? Please tell me, little sister."

Wang Bao'er was stunned, her brows furrowed, and she remained silent for a long time without uttering a single word.

Chu Liuguang chuckled inwardly, thinking, "This girl really doesn't know the answer to this riddle. I was worried she'd find out and come up with something else! Looks like I won't need to."

Wang Bao'er thought for a long time but couldn't figure it out, so she said, "Sister, I can't guess. Your riddle is really strange, tell me the answer quickly!"

Chu Liuguang said, "These are words from the Shakyamuni's mundane sayings, 'No fish in the southern waters! No stones on the mountains! No father for the A-ren! No husband for the Mi-nu! No branches on the Tuo tree! No market in the Buddhist city.' The first six characters together form 'Namo Amitabha Buddha,' a mantra chanted by monks. Of course, I don't know anything about monks, it has nothing to do with my wisdom."

Wang Bao'er pouted, unconvinced, and said, "Yes! How would I know about monks? Sister, give me another riddle."

Chu Liuguang smiled and said, "Okay."

Afraid that Wang Bao'er would be embarrassed and angry, she gave some riddles that were difficult but that she expected Wang Bao'er could guess. After some conversation, Wang Bao'er, as expected, guessed everything and became beaming with joy. The two chatted very congenially, and for the next few days, they were inseparable, often playing together. Chu Liuguang was extremely capable, often playing little tricks to make Wang Bao'er very happy.

Leaving Wang Bao'er aside, let's turn to Xue Yaoguang. These past few days, she had seen Li Se and several women busily engaged in their activities. She had visited Qixiang Residence, only seeing Gu Xiangjun a few times, wondering what was going on between Leng Ruxue and Li Se. Gu Xiangjun seemed completely unconcerned, letting the two be so intimate. Speaking to Gu Xiangjun, she subtly probed her, finding her elegant and kind, yet hearing no complaints and unable to glean any information, which puzzled her.

That day, Xue Yaoguang decided to go to Tianxiang Pavilion to find Wang Bao'er and investigate the truth. As soon as she entered, she saw Wang Bao'er about to leave and said, "What are you doing, little sister? You're in such a rush! I've only just arrived, and you're already leaving? Am I annoying?"

Wang Bao'er laughed, "Sister Xue, you don't know! A sister has come to my house, and she's incredibly clever! She can predict the future! She knows everything. You know Uncle Jin can tell fortunes, right? But I think Sister Chu is even better than him!"

Overjoyed, Wang Bao'er began to describe Chu Liuguang's abilities, saying that she could know what was inside a box without opening it, could predict what people would eat tomorrow, and could even conjure up strange gadgets. Wang Bao'er beamed, praising Chu Liuguang as a rare beauty, unparalleled in heaven and earth, the most intelligent woman in the world.

Although Xue Yaoguang knew that Li Se had brought back an extremely beautiful girl and had secretly glanced at her, she didn't pay much attention. Hearing Wang Bao'er boast like this, she was taken aback. Although she knew that Wang Bao'er would lavish praise on those she liked and vehemently despise those she disliked, the content of Wang Bao'er's words was truly extraordinary. Even if Wang Bao'er was exaggerating, if Chu Liuguang possessed even a fraction of the skills described in her words, he would be quite formidable.

Xue Yaoguang immediately took note, but since she had other matters to attend to, she asked, "Bao'er, what happened to those four oddly-looking people who were with you a few days ago? I haven't seen them lately. Are they your friends?"

Wang Bao'er smiled and said, "Yes! They are Brother Li's friends, so of course they are my friends! They are very interesting and played with me, but after Brother Li came back, he wouldn't allow it anymore, so they went home to stay. But I can call them anytime! Sister, if you need anything from them, just tell me."
