Peach Bride

Chapter 1: The Peach Blossom Troubles of Master Tao's Family

At the foot of Dog Tooth Mountain, nestled among the trees and foliage, lies a village called Taobagou. According to the elders, it was originally called Taobagou. The name Taobagou didn't originate from a homonym of "Tao Ba" and "Taoba," but rather from a bizarre and scandalous marriage custom that flourished there. "

Taoba" is a tool used to scrape ashes from the stove. However, in the rural Northeast, the word "Taoba" has inexplicably acquired a specific connotation. What does it mean? Northerners know. Too much explanation will make the editor frown. Southerners don't know, but that's okay; reading this novel will provide the answer. But please don't have any unrealistic expectations!

Most of the families in Taobagou village are surnamed Tao. The Tao family entered Northeast China during the Jiaqing era, and through generations, despite several periods of rise and fall, they have always been a prominent family in the surrounding villages.

From the generation of Tao Dajianzi, "Tao Bagou" evolved into "Taobagou." But the story begins with Tao Dajianzi's grandmother.

Tao Dajianzi's great-grandfather, Tao Baye, was once the wealthiest man in the Quanyashan area. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Tao family owned thousands of acres of fertile land and herds of cattle and sheep. They had more than a dozen long-term laborers.

Tao Baye was not a peaceful man in his youth. He had been a soldier and a bandit; he did everything he could to rob and plunder, and that was roughly how he built his fortune. He was cunning, ruthless, and unscrupulous. His deep and piercing gaze always instilled fear in people.

Tao Baye married one wife and one concubine, and had five sons and three daughters, a large and happy family. But after he turned forty, he seemed to have run into bad luck: natural disasters and man-made calamities struck year after year.

In May of that year, a hailstorm struck, and most of the Tao family's crops were destroyed.

In July of the following year, locusts swarmed into the thriving fields, and in just over ten days, the crops were also destroyed. That year was even worse; only 30% of the grain was harvested in the autumn.

Natural disasters were one thing—if the sky falls, everyone dies. But the successive man-made calamities were too much for him to handle. First, Eighth Master's beloved concubine—the housekeeper's wife, Chen Yingtao—died of illness. Then, on the very day of his eldest son Tao Tianzhu's wedding, Eighth Master's concubine died in childbirth, along with her child. Afterward, his eldest son Tianzhu, who had just married, suddenly fell ill and died within a month.

The following year, his second son, Tao Tiansheng, married a beautiful and virtuous woman named Zilan. But his wife had just become pregnant, and Tao Tiansheng, ignoring all advice, drove the cart for his boss to haul crops into the fields. Halfway there, the horse's mane broke. He was thrown under the wheels, crushed to death on the spot.

In just two years, Eighth Master Tao lost his concubine, then two sons, leaving behind two widows and a widowed daughter. He was struck dumb, as if by lightning, and in an instant, he aged ten years: his once jet-black hair was now mostly white. His tall frame had shrunk considerably.

A gloomy atmosphere enveloped the imposing Tao family compound.

People began to gossip about the Tao family's misfortunes. Some said the Tao family was facing another calamity, surely having committed some kind of curse; others said the men of the Tao family could not marry.

Tao Baye also pondered what kind of evil had befallen his family. He constantly consulted fortune tellers, but each blind man had his own interpretation, and the stories were endless. Tao Baye didn't know who to believe, completely bewildered.

It was a hot summer noon, and Tao Baye was dozing off in a bamboo chair in the house.

In a daze, two naked women passed by. These two women seemed familiar, resembling the deceased Chen Yingtao and Liu Chuntao. A faint fragrance instantly permeated his senses, and he felt an urge in his lower body, so he unconsciously followed them to the outer room. The two women suddenly vanished. Instead, two peach trees grew beside their stove. The trees had no leaves, only branches laden with strangely colored blossoms, emitting a pungent odor.

The eldest and second sons stood among the flowers, seemingly licking the stamens. Suddenly, something like a venomous snake's forked tongue emerged from the stamens. The two sons collapsed to the ground, dead. As he rushed to help them, they vanished into thin air and flew out the door. The venomous forked tongues of the peach blossoms continued to flicker menacingly. Then, a voice rang out: "Quick, pee! Go water those two peach trees!" He unbuckled his belt and urinated on the two peach trees. The venomous forked tongues of the peach blossoms vanished instantly, replaced by beautiful, fragrant flowers. He was jolted awake by the pleasure of urinating; the sticky mess in his crotch wasn't urine.

At that moment, the door opened. His two widowed daughters-in-law were busy preparing lunch at the stove. Their expressions were strikingly similar to the women in his dream. Their figures were graceful, their faces like peach blossoms. The

midday sunlight accentuated the lithe and beautiful figures of the two daughters-in-law. Master Tao felt a surge of joy; a strange restlessness made his eyes glaze over. A peculiar dream had haunted Master Tao day and night, yet he couldn't grasp its meaning.

Coincidentally, on this very day, a fortune teller from the south, carrying a wooden clapper, passed by the foot of Dog Tooth Mountain

and arrived at Tao Ba Gully. Master Tao was overjoyed and invited him into his home. He told the fortune teller about the misfortunes of the past two years and revealed the dream he had had a few days earlier. The fortune teller solemnly circled the courtyard several times, then returned to the house, his gaze lingering on Master Tao's face. He then examined his palm.

Finally, the fortune teller mysteriously revealed the secret: The Tao family, generation after generation, was destined to suffer from "peach blossom troubles." The wives the Tao family married were all destined to be incarnations of powerful yet poisonous peach blossoms. The young men of the Tao family are unlikely to escape the poisonous influence of the Peach Blossom Star. Therefore, the southern barbarian only mentioned the difficulty of the Peach Blossom Star, but when asked about its root cause, he mysteriously claimed it was a secret of heaven. Eighth Master, however, began to wonder: Could this calamity be related to Chen Yingtao and Liu Chuntao, who died two years ago? Their names both contained the character "peach." He couldn't help but recall the two women from his dream.

When asked about the method to break the Peach Blossom Star, the southern barbarian abruptly stopped, shaking his head repeatedly.

Eighth Master understood the reason. Eighth Master didn't care about money. A pile of clattering silver coins fell onto the kang (heated brick bed), and the barbarian's eyes flashed as he hurriedly explained the method to break the Peach Blossom Star in detail.

The person who would break the Peach Blossom Star was likely an elder of the Tao family, called "Watering the Roots of the Flower Across the Mountain," washing away the Peach Blossom Star's poison and nourishing her hardened body. The specific method was: whenever a daughter-in-law entered the Tao family, the father-in-law must deflower her on her first night. Only in this way could the Tao family's male members be safe and the family business prosper. But one thing must be remembered: the son must not touch her body before the father-in-law deflowers her. For the ritual to be effective, bleeding must occur. The implication is that the new bride must be a virgin.

Afterwards, the southern barbarian drew dozens of talismans, like snakes crawling across the ground. On their wedding night, the father-in-law personally placed the talismans on the woman's genitals, then penetrated her with his penis, making the "peach blossom" ritual impossible to break. As the southern barbarian was leaving, Master Tao suddenly remembered something and pulled the barbarian aside to ask, "What about my two widowed wives? Do they need their 'peach blossoms' broken?" "After the three-year mourning period, if they haven't remarried, they must be broken. If they aren't, and any of your sons has an affair with their sister-in-law, they will be cursed." "Then how should it be broken? They are no longer virgins!"

"The method is the same, but wait until they menstruate! That's also for the 'peach blossoms to turn red.'" Master Tao understood immediately.

Although the method to break the peach blossom curse left the Tao family embarrassed and helpless, Eighth Master Tao seemed to believe it wholeheartedly. He felt that what the southern barbarian had said perfectly matched his own strange dream. His family was definitely afflicted by an internal peach blossom curse. As for the method to break it, whether it would work or not, they would have to try it to know.

Eighth Master's wife, Tao Wangshi, was the first to object, saying, "This is clearly blatant harassment. How can my son and daughter-in-law still have the face to show their faces?" Eighth Master roared and slapped her. Tao Wangshi, dressed in simple folk clothes and with bound feet, lost her balance and fell to the ground instantly. Blood seemed to seep from the corner of her mouth.

This was Eighth Master—domineering.

The whole family immediately fell silent. The third son, Tao Tianci, couldn't help but ask, "Which family's daughter would want to be a daughter-in-law of the Tao family?" "Boy, your father will find you a beautiful young lady!" Eighth Master's eyes shone brightly.

Eighth Master often thought about that peach blossom dream. Recalling it always stirred up a surge of emotions. After the surge, he would always take a few more glances at his two daughters-in-law. After reading it, I became even more anxious.

But the "peach blossom" (a metaphor for bad luck in marriage) had to start with the newlywed daughter-in-law; these two would have to wait. Eighth Master often squinted, lost in thought.

These times seemed endless—or so he felt. He anxiously watched his third son, Tianci, grow up quickly.

Tianci was only seventeen. Eighth Master Tao began asking people to search far and wide for a girl he liked.

Actually, he already had someone in mind. She was a budding flower, so beautiful that Eighth Master was too lazy to even eat.

One day, Eighth Master sent for the clever matchmaker, Huang.

Chapter Two: The First Flower to Bloom

Despite the Tao family's series of misfortunes and the saying "peach blossoms are hard to find," which greatly affected the marriage prospects of the Tao family men—some daughters from wealthy families or timid young ladies were unwilling to marry into the Tao family—this could not stop the wealthy young master of the Tao family from marrying a beautiful young woman.

Firstly, notices were posted on all four doors, and some people were illiterate. Secondly, some people simply didn't believe in that superstition—the allure of wealth far outweighed the fear of emptiness. Thirdly, some poor girls were completely forced into it, with no choice in their own lives.

Back then, Tao Dajianzi's grandmother, Yuan Xiuxiu, married into the Tao family entirely to pay off debts. She was only eighteen years old that year.

Yuan Xiuxiu's family were tenants of Tao Baye, with seven members renting fifteen acres of poor land from the Tao family. In good years, they could barely make ends meet; in years of disaster, after paying rent, there was almost nothing left, and the family often lived hand to mouth, barely surviving.

Xiuxiu's father, Yuan Zuguang, was an honest and simple farmer who wouldn't even get up when pushed. Although Xiuxiu's mother was beautiful, she had a leg disability, making it inconvenient for her to work, and she could only manage some housework. Her parents had five daughters and one son. Xiuxiu was the third child; her two older sisters were already married, and her two younger sisters were only teenagers. The youngest boy, Liuzhu, was the apple of his parents' eye. Unexpectedly, when Liuzhu was five, he contracted a fever. They sought medical help everywhere, accumulating huge debts without any improvement. To pay for his treatment in the provincial capital, Yuan Zuguang borrowed thirty silver dollars at exorbitant interest from Tao Baye. Although the boy survived, the thirty silver dollars had ballooned to over a hundred dollars after several years of exorbitant interest. Their already impoverished livelihood meant they couldn't even repay much of the interest each year. Yuan Zuguang's hair had turned almost white from worrying about the Tao family's high-interest loan. He sighed constantly.

Xiuxiu's mother, though lame, was beautiful and delicate, a true gem in her youth.

Xiuxiu inherited her mother's good looks; by seventeen or eighteen, she had blossomed into a beautiful young woman, one of the most beautiful women in Tao Baye's village.

Every autumn, Tao Baye would come to the Yuan family to collect rent, and at the end of the year, he would come again to collect the high-interest loan. In just a few years, Xiuxiu had transformed from a sallow-faced little girl into a beautiful young woman. Tao Baye had witnessed this and already had a plan in mind.

After the Tao family's misfortune with their "peach blossom luck" (a metaphor for a troubled love affair), Tao Baye was determined to marry Xiuxiu as his "heavenly gifted" wife. Firstly, it would pay off the exorbitant loan; secondly, he felt that starting the "breakup" with this pretty young woman was the most suitable approach. Thinking of Xiuxiu, Baye couldn't help but feel a surge of passion, like a river in February, its waters surging after the ice breaks.

Entrusted by Tao Baye, the smooth-talking matchmaker Huang Mailan from the previous village arrived at Xiuxiu's house. Huang Mailan, with the advance payment from Baye in her pocket, was filled with a determined spirit. Her thin lips moved swiftly, spittle flying everywhere. She wouldn't allow the Yuan family to speak, only focusing on her own eloquent speech.

Huang Mailan first boasted about the Tao family's wealth and status, then praised Tianci's appearance, and finally pointed out the Yuan family's impoverished state. She pressured the Yuan family to finalize the marriage as soon as possible, leaving no room for argument.

Xiuxiu's parents seemed speechless. Although unwilling, the Yuan family was now desperate and had no other choice. Their only hope rested on Xiuxiu. Her parents looked longingly at their beautiful daughter.

Xiuxiu already had someone in her heart and resolutely refused the marriage. She told the matchmaker decisively: she would rather die than marry into the Tao family. Yang Mailan tried everything to persuade Xiuxiu but failed, and finally left dejectedly.

Master Tao was extremely angry, feeling that Xiuxiu was ungrateful. He almost glared at her with murderous intent, pacing back and forth on the floor. Finally, he made a firm decision: he was determined to have this woman. He took his steward, rode a tall horse, and arrived at the Yuan family's house in a menacing manner.

The steward, fiddling with a Mauser pistol, shouted that he wanted to reclaim the fifteen acres of land rented by the Yuan family and claimed that he would report to the authorities to demand the return of the more than one hundred silver dollars.

This move struck at the Yuan family's Achilles' heel, plunging them into dire straits. Yuan Zuguang repeatedly bowed, saying, "Don't be angry, we can talk it over! She'll agree!" Eighth Master Tao's gaze never left Xiuxiu. Xiuxiu gave him a cold shoulder and simply went into the inner room, refusing to show herself again. Eighth Master Tao left, giving the Yuan family three days to consider. Then he strode away.

Her parents began to earnestly persuade Xiuxiu, explaining the pros and cons. Through her tear-filled eyes, Xiuxiu saw her mother's lameness, her father's white hair, and her younger brother who had just recovered from a serious illness. Wang He's handsome face gradually blurred. For the sake of her family's survival, Xiuxiu finally had no choice but to agree. At that moment, tears streamed down her face.

Three days later, Huang Mailan came to the Yuan family again to discuss the bride price and other matters. Eighth Master Tao agreed: the one hundred silver dollars would be considered the bride price, and the Tao family would provide Xiuxiu's dowry. They promised to waive three years' rent for the Yuan family. Yuan Zuguang was extremely grateful.

Hindsight from the Tao family, Yang Mailan revealed the inside story of the Tao family's "peach blossom trouble" to the Yuan family. She clearly stated that after Xiuxiu married into the family, her father-in-law would inevitably have to break her vow of infidelity. This was to prepare Xiuxiu mentally.

Having only heard rumors of the Tao family's "peach blossom trouble," this unexpected revelation of breaking her vow was like plunging the Yuan family into despair.

After Yang Mailan left, Xiuxiu cried for a full day and night without eating or drinking.

Her eyes were red and swollen from crying. She said to her parents, "I was robbed by my father-in-law as soon as I entered the house! How am I supposed to live now? How could you bear to push your daughter into such a beastly family!" Her father just stood there, head bowed, his face contorted with grief, saying nothing.

Her mother sighed, utterly helpless, "We have no choice. If we don't agree, our livelihood will be cut off!" "Marrying him is one thing, but this 'broken peach blossom' thing, how can I accept it!" "It's alright, child," her mother patiently comforted her. "It's all family property, not outsiders. Besides, you don't want to be a widow after marriage, do you? It's just that one night; afterwards, you're still your husband's. Just grit your teeth and bear it!" "Mother!" Xiuxiu sobbed again. Leaving Wang and her brother had already broken her heart. The talk of the "broken peach blossom" was worse than death. She couldn't imagine what that would be like; she could vaguely see the wolf-like, dark blue eyes of the Eighth Master.

She almost thought of death. Going to heaven with her innocent body would be cleaner than the living hell. But she didn't even have the right to die!

After struggling for a while, Xiuxiu looked at her pitiful younger siblings waiting for her to eat, and finally wiped away her tears.

After discussions, Tao Tianci and Xiuxiu's wedding day was set for the Dragon Boat Festival on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month.

Before leaving, Yang Mailan relayed a message from the Tao family: "Keep a close eye on Xiuxiu. If she is no longer a virgin on her wedding night, she will be returned."

Chapter 3: The Tao Family Young Master Who

Refused to Be Cuckolded (Please be kind when reading; a simple vote, collection, and comment will be appreciated!) Things

weren't all smooth sailing for the Tao family either.

After the wedding day was set, Tao Tianci felt no joy whatsoever. Eighth Master had a talk with Tianci about the affair on their wedding night. He had been mentally prepared, but Tianci still exploded. He couldn't tolerate such an absurd thing. No man would willingly give his new bride's first night to his father. Such a humiliation was worse than death.

Tianci was a young man of peculiar character. He was neither introverted nor extroverted. He was quick-witted but disliked studying; his head ached whenever he touched a book. He only attended the private school for a little over two years before refusing to go back. No matter how much his parents scolded or beat him, it was to no avail. Although he was physically weak, he was very adept at farm work. He knew exactly how much land his family owned, how many trees, cattle, horses, and sheep they had, and even what work to do in each season.

Tao Baye saw that he was not good at studying but was skilled at farming. So he tried to teach him some household management and financial management skills. Baye sometimes let him manage the fields, collect rent and interest, or manage the farmhands. He did everything very well. Baye was very satisfied.

Tao Tianci was obedient and filial, always meek and submissive under his parents' noses since childhood, never talking back and rarely causing trouble.

But today, he was acting completely out of character. Eighth Master seemed to understand his feelings and said, "I had no choice! Nobody wants to do things that go against ethics. But for your own good, this is the only way!" "But I always feel that the southern barbarian is talking nonsense," Tianci said, his face flushed. "Father, you shouldn't believe him!" "I don't completely believe him either. But think about what happened in our family. Your eldest and second brothers were alive and kicking when they passed away, and your aunt... Are these all just coincidences? And I even had such a strange dream, so vivid... Better safe than sorry!" Eighth Master put his hands behind his back, his bright eyes shrouded in a dreamlike haze.

"Father, even if the southern barbarian is right, at least I won't get married, right? I can't afford to have any extramarital affairs if I don't bring a wife home. Father, I beg you to break off that marriage!" "How can you say such foolish things? What kind of man doesn't get married? Even if you can do it, how will the Tao family's line continue?" Eighth Master Tao glared at him. His beard bristled.

"And then there are my younger brothers, Tianze and Tianhu. Let them get married and have children! Maybe they don't care about breaking some 'peach blossom luck' (a concept in Chinese folklore associated with marriage)." "If you don't get married first, how will they get married later? Won't people laugh at us! You're talking nonsense." "Father, I really don't want to get married anymore. You should just cancel it!" Tianci insisted. He trembled all over at the thought of the wedding night.

"Don't say anymore!" Tao Baye waved his hand decisively.

Tianci didn't argue anymore, but he hid in the house and wouldn't come out no matter who called him.

Tao Baye was afraid that he might do something rash, so he had his family members take turns trying to persuade him.

His mother tried to persuade him all morning, but to no avail. Later, his two married older sisters, Lanqing and Daidi, moved back in

. The eldest sister, Lanqing, comforted him, saying, "Our father had no choice but to do this. He couldn't just watch his sons die one by one because of bad luck. You should understand him!" The eldest sister said this, but her face also showed a lot of helplessness.

The second sister chimed in on behalf of her brother, saying, "Actually, those things between men and women are just a matter of the mind. Dad didn't intentionally take advantage of your wife. As long as you get rid of your taboo, everything will be fine. A woman's body won't be harmed if someone takes advantage of her once!" Perhaps the second sister was also saying this against her will, her gaze wandering elsewhere.

The fifteen-year-old younger sister, Lanling, who was studying in the county town, happened to be home and was very disgusted by her sisters' words. She indignantly defended her brother, saying, "You're all wrong! What kind of nonsense is this! What Dad says is all feudal superstition, it's harmful. It's the Republic of China now, why are they still doing that kind of thing! It's so ignorant!" Her sisters kept shooing and scolding her, "If you dare say that, be careful Dad hears you, he'll beat you to death! Stop talking nonsense. You'd better not try to persuade him!" No matter what everyone said, Tianci just hung his head, his face gloomy, his eyes vacant and blank.

Then, his sister-in-law, Caiyun, also had to come over to say a few words of advice because of Eighth Master's influence. Caiyun was also a beautiful woman, quiet and somewhat aloof. Tianci didn't find her particularly agreeable, but he also didn't dislike her. Seeing her come to persuade him, he was quite puzzled: would she really agree to break up his affair? She was also a daughter-in-law of the Tao family!

Tianci finally spoke: "You all say, I just got married, and I'm already a cuckold. And the one who's cuckolding me is my own father! How can such an absurd thing happen!" Tianci's face was red and then dark, like a piece of red paper covered in dust.

His sister-in-law said, "If your older brother were alive, he wouldn't cherish me like you do! For his life, your older brother would definitely make me do anything. When you're alive, some things you can't choose; you have to do them whether you want to or not. You'll understand when you come to terms with it!" Tianci hesitated, but his heart was still heavy, like a tangled mess. He forced himself to eat a little food, but his mouth was full of blisters.

The whole family had taken turns trying to persuade him, but his second sister-in-law, Lan, was nowhere to be seen. Tianci felt even more depressed.

That afternoon, he pitifully went to his second sister-in-law Zilan's room.

In the Tao family compound, Tianci and his second sister-in-law were the closest. Their intimacy surpassed that of their parents and siblings. Zilan was charming, gentle, and understanding. Of the seven or eight siblings in the Tao family, she showed particular care for Tianci. Seeing Tianci seemed to remind her of her deceased husband, Tao Tiansheng. Tianci's appearance was extremely similar to his second brother, like twins. Moreover, their mannerisms, speech, preferences, and physical characteristics were quite similar. After Tiansheng's death, Zilan had inexplicably placed her feelings on Tianci. Inside and outside the house, she often bathed the teenage boy in tender gaze. Her feminine tenderness soothed the young man just beginning to experience love. Tianci also regarded his second sister-in-law as a confidante. He always sought out Zilan to confide in her and share his troubles. If he didn't sit in his second sister-in-law's room for a while each day, he felt empty and listless.

He loved that room with its low-hanging curtains and feminine atmosphere. He often melted into the sparkling spring water in Zilan's beautiful almond-shaped eyes. He felt that his second sister-in-law's eyes could speak. He was also often intoxicated by the gentle charm on Zilan's fair and delicate face. There was no need to be surprised: this was the budding dependence on maternal love and the longing for the opposite sex in a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy.

There was also something else: Tianci liked his three-year-old niece, Xiaochunzhi, even more. She would sit in his lap, babbling sweetly. She was his second brother's only child, and sadly, she had never seen her father since birth. Tianci felt a special affection for her.

At this moment, Xiaochunzhi was playing by the windowsill, and when she saw him come in, she rushed over affectionately. Tianci kissed her delicate little face. All his worries had been thrown to the wind.

Zilan sat quietly on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), watching the uncle and niece's closeness with fascination, her heart stirred with emotion.

After snuggling in Tianci's arms for a while, Chunzhi left. A dark cloud settled over Tianci's heart again.

"Sister-in-law, what should we do about this?" Tianci looked at Zilan like a child.

"Who can go against Father's decision? Just accept your fate!" Zilan advised. "Besides, it was only one night. Afterwards, she'll still be your wife." "Second sister-in-law, do you really believe in the saying 'peach blossom trouble'?" Tianci frowned, looking bewildered.

"You can't completely disbelieve it. How can things keep going wrong? Take your second brother, for example. He was completely out of his mind that day. There were several cart drivers in our family, but he insisted on driving the cart himself up the mountain. There was nothing on the road, but the horse got spooked! The night before, he was lying on my stomach, saying the baby was moving, kicking him. And then, in the blink of an eye, he was gone! According to the southern barbarians, I'm the one who harmed him. I'm a poisonous peach blossom." Zilan was already in tears.

Tianci hurriedly comforted her, "Sister-in-law, how can you think like that? Even if you were a poisonous peach blossom, that's a matter of a past life, how would you know!" Zilan wiped away her tears and said softly, "If that southern barbarian had come earlier, seen through this disaster, and given me a way to break the curse, I would have willingly let Father break the peach blossom curse to save your second brother's life." Tianci stepped forward to wipe her tears and said, "Second sister-in-law, do you really believe such a thing?" "Tianci, just take it as true! The most important thing is that you can live peacefully!" Zilan stroked his head like a child, "Your second brother has passed away, he didn't even ask me in his dreams. Seeing you is like seeing him, there is still some light and hope in my heart! You can't afford to make any more mistakes! Tianci!" Tianci felt the fragrant and gentle scent enveloping him, and the impulse of a young man surged up. He couldn't help but hug Zilan, his voice trembling as he said, "Second Sister-in-law, I won't marry another wife, I'll marry you!" Zilan was astonished. She felt a warm embrace from him. After a long while, she said, "Tianci, you're dreaming! I might have such a dream, but you shouldn't!" "Second Sister-in-law, I'm telling the truth. I've thought about it more than once: how wonderful it would be to live by your side in this house for the rest of my life!" Tianci hugged her even tighter.

Zilan pushed him away, saying sadly, "Don't talk like a child! Go back and prepare to be your groom!" Tianci hung his head dejectedly, muttering, "Father said he was getting me a wife, but he went to the bridal chamber and my heart is burning!" Tianci stayed in Zilan's room until dark. He still didn't want to leave. Zilan insisted on pushing him out. But Tianci still trembled at the thought of marriage.

How could his father have the face to enter his son's bridal chamber? He seemed to see the bride's red veil being lifted by her father.

Whether willing or not, the marriage had to take place; the peach blossoms had to bloom. No one could change Tao Baye's decisions; his words were law.

On the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, Heaven had ordained that he would marry Xiuxiu.

Chapter Four: Offering One's Body to the Beloved

On the opposite side of the dog-tooth mountain, the slopes were covered in blooming flowers. They were vying for attention, a riot of colors, like smiling faces shimmering in the breeze.

But before Xiuxiu lay a bottomless ravine. The sound of rushing water echoed from the bottom. Xiuxiu hurriedly crossed to the flowerbed on the other side, but after several steps, she retreated in fear.

A handsome, robust young man flew past from the opposite side and appeared before Xiuxiu in the blink of an eye. Xiuxiu exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Wang He!" Wang He held a bouquet of beautiful flowers in his hand. Xiuxiu immediately felt the fragrance of the flowers, intoxicatingly sweet. "Are these the flowers from the hillside across the way?" Wang He simply smiled at her. Xiu Xiu felt her hair had somehow come undone, like a black waterfall. Wang He stepped forward and gently stroked and ruffled it. In an instant, the waterfall transformed into two long braids.

Wang He quickly placed the flowers in her hair and whispered in her ear, "I've put flowers in your hair, will you be my bride?" Xiu Xiu lowered her head shyly, only focusing on stroking her hair. She felt Wang He's cheek pressed against hers. His voice came again, "Will you be my bride?" Xiu Xiu finally raised her head and said timidly, "I don't have a wedding dress yet!" "Let's go to the hillside across the way, I'll braid it for you with flowers," Wang He said.

"How do we get there?" Xiu Xiu looked at the misty valley.

Wang He didn't answer, but bent down and picked Xiu Xiu up in his arms. Instinctively, they floated to the hillside covered in flowers. Red, yellow, and purple petals danced in Wang He's hands. In the blink of an eye, a colorful floral dress was finished.

Wearing this wedding gown, Xiuxiu was carried into the bridal chamber by Wang He. The bridal chamber was filled with flowers. Even the two flower pillars were blooming with golden flowers.

But Wang He had vanished. When she looked back at the bridal chamber, the flowers had changed color, turning into pink peach blossoms.

Suddenly, the door opened with a thud. Tao Baye's bright eyes were staring greedily at her. Xiuxiu was terrified, frantically calling out Wang He's name.

Baye shouted, "You are peach blossom! I will break you!" and pounced on her like a wolf. Xiuxiu struggled and screamed, waking up in a cold sweat.

Xiuxiu had a dream. When she woke up, it was already dusk. She hadn't slept for several nights, and had just dozed off on the kang (heated brick bed).

Her mother still watched her with alert eyes, like a prisoner, while doing needlework. Since the marriage to the Tao family was arranged, her father and mother had taken turns watching over her. They feared she would meet with Wang He.

In fact, before Tao Dajianzi's grandmother and grandfather were engaged, she already had someone she loved. This man, Wang He, still couldn't forget Xiuxiu decades later.

Wang He was a tall, handsome, hardworking, and honest young man, but his family was extremely poor. Like Xiuxiu's family, they only cultivated a dozen or so acres of hillside land belonging to Tao Baye, barely making ends meet.

Xiuxiu and Wang He were childhood sweethearts, and their families were close. The two children were mutually attracted, and both families knew it. If Tao Baye hadn't forced Xiuxiu into marriage, she would have been Wang He's bride sooner or later.

This sudden turn of events caught both families off guard. Not only was Wang He's family heartbroken, but the Yuan family also felt regret and helplessness.

But it seemed to be fate, the fate of the poor. Beautiful hopes and dreams always shatter in an instant, like flowing water, helplessly fading away.

Xiuxiu's mother knew Xiuxiu's feelings. Xiuxiu and Wang He were already inseparable; she agreed to marry into the Tao family solely for the sake of her family's survival. Such is the plight of women from poor families: few can choose their own marriage, and how many truly get what they desire?

Although Wang He and Xiuxiu were deeply in love, Xiuxiu's mother knew in her heart that their connection was only spiritual, without any physical intimacy.

As the wedding day approached, Xiuxiu's mother became increasingly vigilant in watching over Xiuxiu. The words of the matchmaker, Yang, kept echoing in her ears: "Keep a close eye on Xiuxiu. If she is no longer a virgin on her wedding night, she will be sent back..." It was unimaginable what it would be like for a married daughter to be sent back overnight. Moreover, how would they repay the high-interest loan to the Tao family? How would they survive without land?

Although Xiuxiu's mother kept a close watch on Xiuxiu, she still had household chores and the complicated arrangements for Xiuxiu's wedding.

Since agreeing to the marriage with the Tao family, Xiuxiu knew that her fate with Wang He was over, and everything was irreversible. But one thought lingered in her mind: since her virginity was to be taken by an old man who wasn't her husband, she might as well give her pure body to the one she loved beforehand. So, her mind was blank except for how to see Wang He. She knew that Wang He had come to her house several times in the past few days, but her mother had politely turned him away each time.

That evening, taking advantage of her mother's absence while she went to the outhouse, she rushed out of the house without hesitation. Upon arriving at Wang's house, without a word, she grabbed Wang He and left.

Xiuxiu's mother panicked immediately. Dragging her crippled leg, she rushed to Wang He's house. Wang He's mother said that Xiuxiu had just come by, taking Wang He and disappearing somewhere.

Xiuxiu's mother searched the entire mountainside for a while, then suddenly remembered a place. Ignoring her limp, she hurried down the mountain to the Wang family's hut where they looked after the crops.

When Xiuxiu's mother arrived, she was terrified—it was a critical moment.

Inside the shack, the two, tormented by longing, embraced tightly, tears streaming down their faces. Then, they kissed passionately. This was their first kiss in all these years of love.

After a long while, Xiuxiu, her eyes still brimming with tears, said, "Brother Wang He, this meeting is also our parting. It seems we are destined to be apart in this life; let's wait for the next!" Wang He held her tightly, shaking her violently, saying, "Xiuxiu, are you really going to marry into the Tao family? Are you really going to leave me so cruelly? Ah…" "It's not that I'm cruel, it's that I have no other choice! If I don't marry into that family, my whole family won't survive! My younger brother is only seven years old. I have to sacrifice myself!" "Xiuxiu…" Wang He could barely speak, only tears streaming down his face.

"Brother Wang He, before we part, I want to give you a precious gift today..." "Xiuxiu, what gift could be more precious than you?"

"You're right, I want to give myself to you—my virginity! As a memento of our lives!" "Xiuxiu, is this alright?" Wang He felt uneasy instead. Perhaps this is true love, pure and flawless.

"In this world, there is no good or bad! When we meet again, perhaps I will already be a daughter-in-law of the Tao family. While I am still a virgin, I give myself to you. It won't be in vain that we were once lovers, and it will be good that you will remember me when we meet again in the next life... Brother Wang He, come find me sooner in the next life!" Xiuxiu's voice was mournful, like the desolate forest wind of Dog Tooth Mountain.

The two of them unconsciously embraced and sobbed together. The late autumn sunset slanted across the empty fields. Their hearts were even emptier than this desolate wilderness.

But soon, Xiuxiu wiped away her tears and revealed a smile as beautiful as a flower. She slowly unbuckled her belt, took off her trousers, and then her shorts. Her jade-like body was revealed, smooth and clean.

Then, she lay down on the straw mat in the shack, gazing lovingly at Wang He, and said, "Come on, what are you hesitating for! This is your last chance!" Faced with his lover's radiant body, Wang He's youthful blood boiled. He quickly pulled off his trousers and passionately pounced on her…

Chapter Five: The Final Struggle

When Xiuxiu's mother approached, Wang He's youthful passion was about to enter the harbor of tenderness. Xiuxiu's mother frantically overpowered Wang He. Then, she pulled and dragged Xiuxiu away. In her panic, she didn't forget to carefully observe Xiuxiu's private parts. Based on a woman's experience, she knew that nothing had actually happened yet. She gasped.

She hurriedly helped Xiuxiu put her trousers back on and forcefully pulled her away from the shack. The moment Xiuxiu turned back, she saw Wang He standing there, dejected and desperate. Xiuxiu's eyes filled with tears again.

Xiuxiu looked back every few steps. Through blurry, tear-filled eyes, Wang He's figure still stood in the setting sun. At that moment, her entire life was shattered by tears.

Back home, Xiuxiu angrily berated her mother, "Mom, how could you be so heartless! You cruelly separated us at that moment. Why did you do this?!" "Xiuxiu, how could you be so inconsiderate? Luckily I arrived in time, or it would have been all over!" Her mother was still shaken. She gasped for breath.

"What do you mean, 'all over'? I'm going to give it to him!" Xiuxiu cried, tears streaming down her face. "You'll make me regret it for the rest of my life!" "Child, the Tao family wants a virgin. If you're no longer a virgin, you'll be sent back!" "Sent back is fine, what's so scary?"

"You make it sound so easy! Once you're sent back, how will you live? Even if you don't care, how will our family members live? Have you thought about that?!" Xiuxiu fell silent. Yes, if they were sent back, how would this family survive? She should just accept her fate and become the Tao family's daughter-in-law. One cannot fight against fate.

She lay on the kang (a heated brick bed) neither eating nor drinking, tossing and turning all night. The next day, she brought up an idea with her mother: she wanted to see Tao Tianci.

"What can you do by seeing him?" her mother asked, puzzled.

"I want to see what he's thinking. Is he even a man? On their first night together, his wife let his father come and violate her. Can he tolerate that? Let him think of a way!" "But how can you see him? I won't let you go out. If you go to Wang He again, I can't stand it!" "I'll stay at home and send a message to Tao Tianci. Under your nose, don't you feel at ease?" "But will he come?"

"I believe he will!"

Xiuxiu's brother was working odd jobs at Tao's house, and Xiuxiu instructed him to make sure the message reached him.

Tao Tianci was endlessly depressed at home, unable to concentrate on anything. The festive bustle at home seemed to have nothing to do with him. His mind was filled with the uncontrollable image of his father's tall figure walking into the bridal chamber. The thought of it further tormented him. In his most distressed moment, he went to his second sister-in-law Zilan's room. Tianci's desperate and dejected expression pained Zilan deeply. She took his hand and comforted him, "Try to think more positively! This won't help; it will only ruin you. There are plenty of women who aren't virgins when they marry into the family. Just think of it this way!" "That's a different matter," Tianci said, clutching his hair in anguish. "If this person weren't my father, I might not care! But what's going on?" Zilan had him sit beside her, speaking softly like she was comforting a child. Zilan's gentle understanding soothed his cold and gloomy heart like a spring breeze. Tianci's pain lessened considerably. He leaned gratefully and affectionately against Zilan's chest.

Just as he left his sister-in-law's room, Xiuxiu's cousin, Yuan Youchang, found him. Yuan Youchang called him aside and whispered, "My sister sent a message asking you to come to my house. She says it's extremely important to discuss something." Tianci was surprised for a moment, only grunting in response, without indicating whether he would go or not.

Tianci pondered for half the afternoon, even considering not going. But he also felt a strong urge. His house was three miles away from Xiuxiu's, and he wasn't exactly familiar with her. But he clearly remembered that last autumn when he went to the Yuan family to collect rent, Xiuxiu stood in the corner of the room, staring at him with her bright, watery eyes; Xiuxiu's high, firm breasts had truly made him fantasize for many days—that girl's beautiful charm was unforgettable!

The thought that this delicate flower would have to go through his father's hands made his heart churn again.

In the end, he decided to go to Xiuxiu's house anyway.

It was the day before the wedding, and the Tao family was busy preparing the water table to entertain the relatives and friends who had arrived early. Before nightfall, Tianci found an opportunity to leave home.

Xiuxiu's parents received their son-in-law with trepidation. Xiuxiu's father made an excuse to go to the garden. Xiuxiu's mother stood outside the door eavesdropping.

The two, originally strangers, were about to be bound together by marriage. Although there were no sweet words exchanged, an awkward and painful matter brought them together with a common focus—their wedding night.

Now, Xiuxiu showed no shame. She went straight to the point with Tao Tianci.

"What do you think of your father's beastly behavior? Are you indifferent?" Xiuxiu asked, her voice filled with shame and indignation.

"Do you think I feel good about it! Actually, I'm the one who's hurt the most!" Tianci sighed.

"Then why didn't you stop him? You should have stood up to your father!" Xiuxiu stamped her feet in frustration.

"How do you know I didn't resist! I even begged my father to break off the engagement, preferring to remain unmarried for life. But nothing I said mattered; my father simply wouldn't change his mind!" "Then go die! Living like this is worse than death!"

"I've thought about it, but I can't do that. My body was given to me by my parents; to die so easily would be unfilial!" "To swallow your anger and let your own father strip your wife naked—is that filial piety? Are you even a man?!" Xiuxiu choked with sobs.

"My father had no choice but to do this; he didn't mean it this way. You know how many misfortunes have befallen our family. If we don't break this curse, we'll never have a peaceful life!" "You believe in that superstitious nonsense? How can you be so spineless!" "Whether I believe it or not isn't important; the key is that my father is convinced. No one can change his mind, so..." "So you just give in, willing to give up your wife, is that it? Huh!" "Since it can't be changed, why not try to be more open-minded? It's just one night anyway." "You've come to terms with it, but I can't. I can't accept it!"

"Do you have a better way? Unless you'd rather die than marry!"

"If I could die, I wouldn't be in this predicament!" Xiuxiu lowered her head, looking sorrowful and helpless.

After a while, she raised her head again, her voice trembling, and said, "I have a way to make your father unable to break this curse." "What way? Tell me!"

"That is, you break this curse first tonight. That way, we'll both feel better." Since she can't give it to Wang He, she can give it to this man who will be her husband. It's better than letting that old thief take it first. Xiuxiu decided to do just that.

Looking at the voluptuous and lovely girl before him, Tao Tianci felt a surge of masculine desire. He longed to take this flower that rightfully belonged to him.

But the thought of his father's piercing gaze sent a chill down his spine. The ignited lust was immediately extinguished. He truly lacked the courage to defy his father's will.

"I...I won't do that," Tao Tianci refused Xiuxiu, then stormed out. Clearly, he was also in pain, but utterly helpless. No one knew whether Tao Tianci would later regret his cowardice.

Yuan Xiuxiu spent the last night of her girlhood in endless torment and struggle.

The rooster crowed, and dawn broke. The ninth day of the ninth lunar month arrived, unavoidably and quietly.

Chapter Six: The Eager Eighth Master

Tao The joyous occasion in the Eighth Master Tao's family was truly a joyous occasion. It stirred up the surrounding hundreds of miles around Dog Tooth Mountain.

In the Dog Tooth Mountain area, there was a saying: "In the south there is Sui Huailiang, in the north there is Eighth Master Tao." This shows Tao Baye's status. In fact, Baye's current glory was entirely created by risking his life. The villages surrounding Quanya Mountain all had Tao families. However, Baye's father's branch of the family wasn't particularly wealthy. It wasn't until Baye grew up that things truly took off. Baye went from a soldier to a bandit, then returned from Erlong Mountain to Lijia Gou, wasting a full ten years of his life. Baye's rise to power involved only two classic battles. The first was a thrilling contest with Li Erga, the village's richest man. That year, Baye took a fancy to a girl from the village named Chun Tao. Initially, Chun Tao was unwilling to be with Baye. One time, Baye forcibly dragged her to a sorghum field and, without any explanation, forced himself on her. The deed was done, and Chun Tao submitted to Baye. But Li Erga also had his eye on Chun Tao. Li Erga spent several hundred silver dollars on the town police station. Tao Baye was convicted of abducting respectable women and imprisoned in a daze. A year later, when he was released, Chun Tao had already become Li Erga's concubine. Still seething with anger, Baye returned to Erlong Mountain.

One night, gunshots rang out as bandits from Erlong Mountain smashed open Li Erga's kiln. The house was instantly engulfed in flames. Li Erga, carrying a Mauser pistol, was shot down as soon as he stepped outside. But the shot wasn't fatal. Instead, a tall, masked man, taking advantage of the chaos, threw Li Erga into the fire and burned him to a crisp. All of this was witnessed by a little girl trembling in a corner.

The bandits looted all of Li's valuables and abducted several beautiful young women and wives, including Li Erga's first wife, Zhao Qianzhu. Strangely, only Li Erga's concubine, Chun Tao, was spared. The fire raged for half the night; only a few woodsheds were burned, while the other dozen or so houses remained intact.

After the calamity, Tao Baye presented the village office with a bizarre contract: on a certain day of a certain month of a certain year, Li Erga and he gambled in Shuangshui Town, and Li Erga mortgaged all his property and his concubine Chun Tao to Tao Baye, losing the bet.

Huang Baozhang, the village head, dismissed it: "Li Erga is dead, there's no way to verify it, so your word is useless!" Tao Baye

then handed Huang Baozhang a silver note. Huang Baozhang's eyes lit up.

Tao Baye not only took over Li Erga's thousand acres of fertile land and moved into the Li family's magnificent mansion, but also returned to Li Erga's concubine Chun Tao intact. Chun Tao was the second concubine of Tao Baye who later died in childbirth. It is said that there was a hidden basement containing gold and silver treasures beneath Li Erga's mansion; Li Erga suddenly died, and only Chun Tao knew the secret entrance to the basement. Tao Baye was a master of both wealth and lust. Later, Tao Baye also placed the treasures inside. This was a secret passed down through generations of the Tao family, known to almost no one. For generations, the Tao family had been scheming and plotting to find this secret—but that's another story. From then on, the Li family compound became the Tao family compound, and Li Family Gully was renamed Tao Ba Gully.

Eighth Master's second battle was a territorial dispute with the wealthy Sui Huailiang. South of Quanya Mountain, Sui Huailiang's name was legendary; even the mountain itself trembled at his slightest stomp. But Eighth Master seemed unfazed. The eastern foothills of Quanya Mountain were a vast, barren, waterlogged area. Although the soil was fertile, no one dared to cultivate it, simply because they heard Sui Huailiang wanted to occupy it. Eighth Master wanted to take the lead. He led his servants on horseback to mark the area, preparing to cultivate it. But just then, Sui Huailiang sent someone to say that the land belonged to the Sui family and that Eighth Master had three days to withdraw. Otherwise, he would face harsh treatment. Eighth Master ignored this and continued to send people to cultivate the land day and night.

Three days later, Sui Huailiang sent a challenge, arranging a meeting at the City God Temple on the eastern mountain. This was clearly a life-or-death struggle.

Eighth Master went to the City God Temple with only one servant. Sui Huailiang, on the other hand, led dozens of burly men, standing menacingly before the Buddha statue as if facing a formidable enemy.

Sui Huailiang issued his final ultimatum: return the land or not?

Eighth Master showed no fear, his sharp eyes meeting Sui Huailiang's, and said, "I can't hand over the land! Take whatever is valuable on me! Including my life!" "Human flesh is the most valuable thing, are you going to give it to me?" Sui Huailiang said coldly.

"Fine! Then I'll exchange my flesh for the land, what do you say?" Eighth Master smiled calmly.

"Sure! Just one pound of flesh. I'll go back and make dumplings!" Sui Huailiang's eyes were full of provocation.

Eighth Master drew a sharp knife from his waist, first rolling up his trouser leg to reveal his thigh, then smiling as he stabbed it horizontally. After three cuts, a bloody piece of flesh was stuck on the tip of the knife. With a whoosh, he tossed it to Sui Huailiang opposite him.

Sui Huailiang caught it in astonishment. His hand trembled slightly involuntarily. But he immediately said, "How can such a small amount of meat satisfy my taste?" Despite the excruciating pain, Eighth Master swallowed his trousers again. The knife plunged into his thigh. A larger piece of fresh meat was then placed on the tip of the knife. Then, the knife and the knife flew towards Sui Huailiang's arms.

Sui Huailiang was terrified, hurriedly stood up, and bowed, saying, "I've learned my lesson! Eighth Master is a true man! This land belongs to Eighth Master!" He then led his men away.

Soon, Eighth Master and Sui Huailiang became friends. They each occupied the north and south sides of Dog Tooth Mountain, keeping to themselves. From then on, Eighth Master and Sui Huailiang were equally famous in Dog Tooth Mountain. Eighth Master gained friends from all walks of life.

The events, big and small, of Eighth Master Tao's family were far beyond those of ordinary families. Once the date was set, the Tao family began sending out invitations. Three days before, pigs and sheep were slaughtered. The day before, the water table was prepared, and the Tao family was already bustling with activity. A stage was set up in the front yard, and a grand opera was being performed.

On the very day of the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, the courtyard was already bustling with activity, filled with distinguished guests.

Relatives and friends from the village were present, as were prominent gentry and officials.

The wealthy landowner, Sui Huailiang, arrived first in his carriage. Dressed in silk and satin, he exuded an air of refined elegance, accompanied by his newlywed concubine. The Eighth Master led them to the most prestigious room and ordered tea to be served. Looking at Sui Huailiang's beautiful concubine, the Eighth Master teased him, saying he was quite fortunate. Sui Huailiang smiled smugly, then looked at the Eighth Master mysteriously and said, "Doesn't the Eighth Master want to take another wife? You're still so vigorous, even young men can't keep up; taking three or four more wives would be no problem!" The Eighth Master merely smiled, but inwardly, a surge of emotion coursed through him. He couldn't help but yearn even more for his son's wedding night. The Eighth Master instructed his eldest daughter-in-law, Caiyun, to entertain Sui Huailiang and his wife inside. He then came out to greet the other guests. All of them were prominent figures, and he dared not neglect them in the slightest.

Huang, the village head, arrived on a rickshaw carrying a Mauser pistol; even Mayor Li from the town sent someone to offer congratulations. Eighth Master Tao ushered them into the west room and instructed his second daughter-in-law, Zilan, to go in and keep them company.

Eighth Master Tao, his face radiant with health, dressed in a red satin robe, stood in the courtyard, repeatedly bowing to welcome the guests from all directions.

The guests had mostly arrived, waiting for the bridal sedan chair to be carried into the Tao family home in grand style.

The wedding procession, surrounding a luxurious

sedan chair, was making a commotion as it traveled along the mountain road at the foot of Dog Tooth Mountain. The groom, Tao Tianci, dressed in a red robe with a red flower on his chest, rode a chestnut horse slowly in front of the sedan chair, expressionless. The horse's hooves rustled through the fallen autumn leaves, and his heart was filled with desolation and bewilderment.

Inside the bridal sedan chair, Xiuxiu was completely stunned. Under the red veil, a thick shadow covered her flower-like face; her autumn-water eyes seemed frozen, filled with a layer of tear mist. Her mind was blank, and her body trembled slightly with the swaying of the sedan chair.

Before leaving, Xiuxiu's mother gave her some instructions as usual, nothing more than some experiences of women in love on their wedding night. Xiuxiu had no mind to remember these. At the mention of the wedding night, she trembled all over, as if she had been bitten by a snake.

Her mother cried when she got into the sedan chair, but Xiuxiu did not cry, as if her tears had dried up in the past few days. She did not comfort her mother. She felt like a zombie being carried away.

Around noon, the bridal sedan chair was carried into the Tao family compound. The noise of people immediately rose.

Chapter Seven: The Chaotic Wedding Night (1)

After bowing to heaven and earth, Xiuxiu was led into the bridal chamber by her bridesmaid. The groom was absolutely forbidden from entering the bridal chamber today. After the wedding ceremony, Tao Tianci pulled aside the outsiders and onlookers. He was simply at his father's beck and call, endlessly entertaining guests, toasting at each table, and exchanging pleasantries.

Inside and outside the house, there was a cacophony of shouts and boisterous drinking games. It wasn't until dusk that some of the guests gradually left.

Eighth Master drank a lot with Sui Huailiang and Huang Baochang, but he wasn't drunk at all. Eighth Master's drinking capacity was renowned throughout the surrounding villages; it was said he could easily drink three or five bowls of wine. Moreover, Eighth Master knew that tonight was actually his bridal chamber, and also served the purpose of breaking off his marital ties.

Huang Baochang was the last distinguished guest to leave Eighth Master's house. He was so drunk that his tongue was thin and his steps were unsteady. As Eighth Master saw him to the door, he said mysteriously, "Eighth Master, why haven't you been to town lately? Ruihong from Heaven and Earth... she's been talking about you all the time! Let's set a time to go out and have some fun!" Eighth Master glanced around and said softly, "I won't have time until after this wedding season is over." Huang, seemingly unintentionally, chuckled and teased, "What does your son's honeymoon have to do with... you, his father? Huh? Haha!" Eighth Master laughed along, saying, "Huang, you've had a bit too much to drink..." Watching Huang stagger away on his rickshaw, he turned back to the courtyard. Night had fallen. Eighth Master gazed at the bridal chamber, bathed in the glow of candlelight, the bride's graceful figure reflected on the window lattice adorned with the large red "double happiness" character. A restless, tingling sensation swept through his heart.

He summoned the steward and instructed, "Tell everyone that no one is allowed to disturb the wedding night tonight, and no one is allowed to eavesdrop. Anyone who violates this rule will be severely punished!" Seeing that the noise hadn't subsided, Tao Baye returned to his room, drinking tea and planning his wedding night.

He recalled the words the southern barbarian had privately told him: "The more vigorous you are in breaking her, the better. Don't be gentle. Ideally, you should break her ten or eight times in one night, leaving her utterly disheveled. Then the 'poison' will be gone." For this, Baye made thorough preparations. From the day their wedding day was set, he hadn't been intimate with his wife, nor had he gone to town to visit Ruihong. Tao Baye was a virile man; his wife and concubine had been thoroughly satisfied by him, never feeling any thirst. Moreover, he still had the energy to go with Huang Baozhang to the brothels in town for pleasure.

Huang Baozhang greatly envied him, saying he was a boar reincarnated, with exceptional mating abilities, unmatched by anyone in the surrounding villages.

Sometimes, looking at his wives' satisfied, rosy faces at night, Tao Baye felt a surge of pride. He missed Ruihong, the woman in town, terribly when he didn't see her for a while.

Since his concubine Chuntao died in childbirth, he'd been going to town every few days. He could still easily satisfy his wife when he returned. Besides, his wife, Tao Wangshi, was old and faded, no longer arousing his interest; he'd only have sex with her symbolically once a month at most.

Tao Baye had been pent up for over half a month, his erection throbbing every morning. He was eager to finally seduce her.

At this moment, his manhood was incredibly swollen, and he stood up impatiently. Just as he was about to go to the bridal chamber, his wife, Tao Wangshi, returned from the other side.

Seeing his eagerness, Tao Wangshi felt a pang of jealousy. Although Madam Tao was always submissive and dared not utter a sound in front of Eighth Master, and even less daring to object to the matter of breaking up the peach blossom, she still harbored the inherent jealousy of a woman today, and dared to berate him: "How could such a disgraceful thing happen to your Tao family! How could you, an old geezer, defile your delicate daughter-in-law! Do you know how much pain Tianci must be in? It's like he's living a life worse than death! Seeing the child's pitiful state, my heart feels like it's being torn apart! And you, you only think about your own pleasure, regardless of whether the child is already impatient or not! Huh?" If she dared to speak like this, Eighth Master would have already unleashed a thunderous roar. But today was a joyous occasion, and Eighth Master also felt a little guilty, so he didn't lash out too much, only glaring at her and saying, "Shut your stinking mouth! What's the use of saying this now!" Madam Tao immediately fell silent, but her eyes were filled with tears. A woman's tears, a mother's tears.

Xiuxiu, her face veiled, sat in the bridal chamber for most of the day, her body almost stiff. When no one was around, she would stand up and move around briefly, but immediately sit back down.

Two relatives brought her food, which she refused. She had almost no appetite. After dark, her mother-in-law prepared a bowl of comfort noodles, lifted a corner of her veil, and brought it to her lips. She reluctantly ate two strands, then gestured for her mother-in-law to put it down. Her mother-in-law tried to persuade her earnestly for a long time, but to no avail, and finally sighed and left helplessly. One of the relatives laid out a red silk quilt and arranged a pair of mandarin duck pillows for her, then also left silently.

Because of the Eighth Master's instructions, the young men and women who had planned to make a ruckus in the bridal chamber left dejectedly one after another.

The bridal chamber felt empty and deathly silent, the two large candles hissing and spitting out golden flames. Xiuxiu felt boundless loneliness and fear. She listened intently to the sounds at the door, each noise sending a shiver down her spine.

She heard someone stride in, followed by the soft click of the door being bolted. Her heart clenched again.

The moment the veil was lifted, she clearly saw Tao Baye's ruddy face, his eyes gleaming brightly.

Xiuxiu's delicate features, made even more dignified and beautiful by his icy demeanor, sent a jolt through Tao Baye's heart. He instinctively reached out to touch her face, but she stopped him.

Baye asked if she had eaten anything, but Xiuxiu didn't answer, only staring at him in fear.

"It's getting late, time to go to bed!" Baye said, unbuttoning his clothes.

Xiuxiu suddenly knelt on the ground, pleading, "Father, please let me go tonight. Let Tianci come to the bridal chamber instead." Eighth Master lifted her up and helped her sit on the edge of the kang (heated brick bed), saying gently, "Xiuxiu, all of this is fate, no one can change it. Try to accept it! After this night, you can still live your lives peacefully, it's nothing!" Saying this, Eighth Master undressed and climbed onto the kang, casually drawing the curtains.

Xiuxiu despaired; she knew all her efforts were futile. But she still refused to get on the kang, only sitting on the edge, sobbing.

The stalemate lasted a long time, but Eighth Master still didn't force her. He only subdued her with words as sharp as knives.

"Now that you've married into the Tao family, there's no way you can escape this ordeal. If you haven't thought it through before getting into the sedan chair, you should die rather than get into this sedan chair! Once you're inside this door, everything is out of your control. I don't want to use force; that would only cause you more pain. Think about it, do you think you can escape this house? What are you doing here?" Xiuxiu cried for a long time, her heart churning violently. But in the end, she helplessly reached out to unbutton her clothes. But with each button she unbuttoned, her heart clenched.

Chapter 8: The Chaotic Wedding Night (2)

Although Xiuxiu had given up all hope, she still dragged out every second. She slowly took off her bright red trousers and bright red coat, revealing a pink undershirt.

She climbed onto the kang (a heated brick bed) almost tremblingly. Only a quilt was laid on it, and Xiuxiu lay down close to the edge, her back to Tao Baye.

Baye got up and lowered the curtain, his lower body already completely naked.

A large red candle flickered with golden flames outside the curtain. Inside, a warm, hazy pink hue enveloped the area.

Baye pressed close to her body, his hand reaching under her underwear, along her armpits, to her breasts. An eighteen-year-old body—everything about her was so beautiful. Her breasts, firm and elastic, felt like they could be filled with his palm. His fingers held the rounded nipples, a wonderful sensuality spreading throughout Baye's body.

Baye could no longer control himself; intense desire surged into a raging torrent that overwhelmed reason. He almost wildly stripped off all her coverings, not even sparing her red undergarment.

The scent of youth carried a faint fragrance; her youthful figure, graceful and alluring, radiant and glowing. Baye was almost drunk with pleasure.

Eighth Master moved her body so she was lying on her back, but Xiuxiu stubbornly rolled over again. Eighth Master forcibly moved her back and slammed her down beneath him.

Despite the fear and humiliation that overwhelmed Xiuxiu, she instinctively made a desperate struggle. But facing Eighth Master's strong, predatory body, it was all in vain. Her last line of defense was brutally breached. And Eighth Master even pierced through the yellow paper talisman.

She felt a thick, hard object forcefully inserted like a wedge, the tearing, throbbing pain causing her to scream in agony. After that, she lay motionless, like a dead body. Her mind was filled with hatred. She hated the beast on top of her; she hated the cowardly Tao Tianci; she hated her parents for pushing her into this fire pit; and she hated her mother for separating her and Wang He yesterday. Why did her mother have to arrive at that moment? If Wang He had defiled her, she wouldn't be in such pain. Heaven is blind!

The mission to break through Peach Blossom's allure and burgeoning desire intertwined infinitely, bringing Eighth Master's bestial behavior to its peak. He used every trick in the book to ravage this delicate body. He was like a wanton ram, bellowing wildly, his bloodshot eyes blazing.

Xiu Xiu was drenched in sweat, screaming repeatedly. Eighth Master was completely oblivious to all of that.

Xiu Xiu had been suffering from poor appetite and sleep for the past few days, her body and mind exhausted, burdened by endless worry, fear, and shame. She couldn't withstand such prolonged torment and soon fell unconscious.

After his bestial act, Eighth Master got out of bed, fetched a candle, and carefully examined her body, confirming that she was indeed a woman. A pool of blood soaked the mattress, and her fair thighs were also covered in crimson. Eighth Master smiled with satisfaction.

When Xiu Xiu awoke, she was completely limp and unable to move. That place was still aching.

Eighth Master was lying asleep beside her, gathering his strength for the second time to break through Peach Blossom's allure.

Just as Xiuxiu was enduring unbearable physical torment, outside the bridal chamber, another person was suffering a heart-wrenching pain. This person was the groom, Tao Tianci. That

afternoon, Tianci had been forced by his father to toast the guests, and he had drunk quite a lot himself. After the guests left, he lay in another room, agonizing over his condition. His mother came to comfort and console him for a long time, but he only became more agitated.

The unbearable night quietly descended, and he sensed that his father had gone to the bridal chamber that belonged to him. His heart churned even more violently. He got up and sat down, then got up again, like a caged beast. He couldn't help but leave the room.

He stumbled to the bridal chamber. At that moment, he could see his father's shadow, naked from the waist down, pulling the curtains through the window.

Soon, he heard Xiuxiu's continuous cries and moans. His blood was boiling, rushing to his head. He almost wanted to rush in without thinking.

Just then, a gentle hand rested on his shoulder from behind. He turned around sharply and saw it was his second sister-in-law, Zilan. She dragged him into her room. Xiaochunzhi was already fast asleep on the kang (heated brick bed).

She forcefully pressed him down onto the kang, saying, "Don't listen to that, it will only make you more miserable!" "Second sister-in-law, please help me, let me die! I can't take it anymore!" Tianci cried, clutching his hair in anguish.

"I understand how you feel, no one can bear it. But since it's already like this, you have to endure it!" "Second sister-in-law, how can I endure it? I'm a man too!" "

I have a way to calm you down," his second sister-in-law said softly, her face flushed and alluring.

"What way, second sister-in-law?" Tianci looked at her blankly. Was there a better way than death?

"You can't bear it because your body is swelled with male urges and pride. Once you release it, you won't want anything else!" "Ah?" Tianci's mouth dropped open.

"I'll help you release it," his second sister-in-law said, her face growing even redder. At this moment, his second sister-in-law's bosom was open, her large breasts half-concealed, half-revealed.

Tianci seemed to understand Zilan's meaning, and suddenly felt his cheeks burning, at a loss for words. But seeing her charming demeanor, a strange restlessness swept through his heart. He avoided the shimmering light in her eyes and stammered, "Sister-in-law, will this really make me feel better?" "Yes. Once you release that desire, you won't think about anything anymore. Then you'll feel that the relationship between men and women is just that, nothing to worry about!" "Wouldn't that mean I'm bullying you?" he asked nervously, like a child about to steal something.

"How could it be considered bullying me! Your sister-in-law loves you, and you should love your sister-in-law too!" Zilan said softly, her eyes sparkling.

"What if Father finds out?"

"How could he know? He's too busy in your bridal chamber to think about what he overheard in the bridal chamber!" Thinking of everything he'd heard, a hurricane swept through his heart again. Yes, Father was in his own bridal chamber, beastly tormenting his new wife, oblivious to his son's feelings. Why should I care about him! You do it, I'll do it too!

Tianci seemed to suddenly find a psychological balance. He looked up at his charming sister-in-law, a surge of desire coursing through him. But he was still uneasy, and said, "What about Mother? She might come looking for me later." "I'll arrange that. I'll go to her." Zilan straightened her half-open robe, got up, and went out. But then she turned back, her eyes flashing, "Wait for me to come back!"

Chapter Nine: The Groom Outside the Bridal Chamber

As they spoke, he left the room and went to his mother's room.

Tao Wangshi was still awake. His sister-in-law, Caiyun, was also in the room. Zilan was surprised: "Sister-in-law, what are you doing here?" "I was afraid Mom was in a bad mood, so I came to keep her company!" Caiyun said.

Tao Wangshi held a long-stemmed pipe and took one puff after another. A layer of ashen pain covered her face. Zilan instantly felt that this woman was even more pitiful. She was in pain for her son and also for herself.

Tao Wangshi turned to ask Zilan: "Is Tianci in your room?"

"Yes. I came here for this." As she spoke, she glanced at Caiyun. Caiyun was scrutinizing her.

"Is he in a bad mood?" Tao Wangshi felt that the words were superfluous as soon as they left her mouth—could he be feeling better!

"Tianci is threatening to kill himself, I dare not leave his side for a moment!" Zilan's tone was very low.

Tao Wangshi, tapping her cigarette, sighed and said, "You must persuade him and not let him do anything rash! I feel relieved with you. He and you are the closest, so watch over him tonight and make sure nothing goes wrong! What are you doing here? I don't need you here, go back now!" "Tianci said he wanted a little wine, so I came to get it and also to see you," Zilan stammered.

"A little wine is fine, just don't let him drink too much and cause trouble!" Tao Wangshi instructed.

"I won't, I'll talk him out of it, don't worry!" Zilan said, then went upstairs to get the wine from the kitchen.

Caiyun also said goodbye to her mother-in-law and wanted to come out with Zilan. She called out to Zilan, seemingly wanting to say something. Zilan waited anxiously for her to speak.

"How are we going to endure that Xiuxiu tonight!" Caiyun looked at the bridal chamber, still lit by candlelight, her voice filled with sorrow.

"We have to endure it, tonight will eventually pass," Zilan said absentmindedly as she hurried back to her room.

"You seem so indifferent, so detached," Caiyun scolded.

"There's nothing we can do, she's the Tao family's daughter-in-law!" "Yes, who would have thought she'd end up in the livestock pen! Zilan, have you thought about this? We'll both suffer the same fate soon! It's terrifying to even think about. According to that southern barbarian, we'll both be defiled. Our mourning period is over, after Xiuxiu, it'll be our turn! What do you think?" "Thinking about it is useless, let's just take it one step at a time!" Zilan's tone was uncertain. "We're both widows now, we've already crossed the line, there's no need to care about so much." Caiyun was surprised: "Oh? It seems you've already thought it through? You don't care?" "What can I do even if I care? In this courtyard, everything is beyond my control! Sister-in-law, do you have a better plan?" "I can't tolerate that kind of animalistic behavior, I'll leave the Tao family sooner or later." Caiyun's tone was firm.

"You want to remarry?" Zilan was quite surprised. She had never even considered it.

"Remarrying is no big deal! It's the Republic of China now! Who wants to die in this living coffin?" "That old man won't let you go. You're just delusional!" Zilan looked at the bridal chamber with its flickering red candles, her tone full of helplessness.

"Then what should I do? Just wait for my father-in-law to come and commit incest?"

Zilan only sighed softly. At this moment, she had no mind to think about those things. Tianci was still waiting for her in the room. So she said, "I should go back to my room. I don't want anything to happen to Tianci." Caiyun looked her over mysteriously and said, "Tianci can't go into the bridal chamber, but he wants to spend his wedding night in your room. You won't take advantage of him, will you?" Zilan was startled and said in a panic, "What are you talking about?"

"Tianci is indeed different towards you. I can tell from his usual eyes. You two won't spark anything tonight, will you?" Zilan blushed and her heart pounded, as if she were standing naked in front of someone. Fortunately, Caiyun couldn't see her embarrassed expression in the darkness. "Sister-in-law, how can you talk such nonsense? I'm not talking to you anymore!" She fled from Caiyun in a panic. Caiyun watched her disappear through the kitchen doorway with a sly look, then turned and went back into her room.

Zilan went to the kitchen, fetched a pot of wine and two wine cups, and hurried back to her room.

Tianci was pacing anxiously in the room.

She pulled Tianci's hand and sat him back on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), saying softly, "I've already spoken to Mother. She also said I should persuade you to stay here tonight. You can rest assured!" Tianci didn't say anything more, like a lost child letting adults arrange things for him.

Zilan filled the two wine cups, saying in a cheerful tone, "Look, you got married, and you didn't even get to drink the nuptial wine. Tonight, your sister-in-law will make it up to you!" Tianci sat there noncommittally, staring blankly as a slender hand brought over the wine cup. The aroma of wine and the woman's scent mingled and filled the air, like a hazy dream.

Under his sister-in-law's guidance, he and she intertwined their arms and brought the wine cups to each other's lips. As he drank, he felt his sister-in-law's soft hand touch his lips.

His sister-in-law, after drinking a cup, blushed. She looked at him alluringly and said, "Since we drank the nuptial wine tonight, are we considered husband and wife?" "If I could choose in my next life, I would choose someone like you, sister-in-law!" Tianci seemed to be speaking from the heart. Ever since she married into the Tao family, Tianci had felt a special connection to her. Perhaps it was the yearning of a young man for a gentle woman.

"Then let's be a couple for a brief encounter!" his sister-in-law said softly, sitting beside him.

"What does 'a couple for a brief encounter' mean?" He clearly smelled Zilan's scent—unfamiliar, fragrant, and alluring.

"A couple for a brief encounter is a couple who secretly meet!"

Zilan had already gone to the kang (heated brick bed) to spread out the quilt, and had taken off her clothes, revealing herself naked before him. It was the first time Tianci had witnessed a woman's naked body. He was stunned.

"Come on, tonight you'll enter your sister-in-law's bridal chamber, let me teach you how to be a man!" Zilan took Tianci's hand.

Drawn by a temptation, he involuntarily climbed onto the bed.

The moment his sister-in-law unbuttoned his clothes with her soft hands, removing all his coverings, his lower body was already uncontrollable. He climbed onto his sister-in-law's soft, smooth body without hesitation.

"Don't rush, I'll teach you to do it slowly! A good man knows to caress a good woman first, and wait until she feels good before you do it!" Zilan gently caressed him, whispering sweet nothings.

Tianci did as his sister-in-law said. The burgeoning feelings of a young man gently washed over the unfamiliar mountains, flooding the desolate meadows, like a gentle drizzle nourishing a parched land. Zilan moaned and cried out in a dreamlike voice. Like spring rain pattering on banana leaves.

Soft, slippery, and hot. This was Tianci's first experience of lovemaking. He floated through the colorful clouds, his life sublimating to the ultimate bliss.

But Tianci was experiencing this for the first time, and was far too sensitive. The tide surged a few times before bursting its banks.

Zilan twisted her body, dazed and confused. But she seemed to understand, saying, "Men are all like this the first time." Tianci calmed down, subconsciously thinking about what happened in the bridal chamber, and indeed, he wasn't as uncomfortable and impulsive as before. But another kind of regret struck: should he have done this with his sister-in-law? What would his family do if they found out? Was he going to be like his father, a beast? Could he still get along with his sister-in-law as before? He had no answers, only bittersweet regret, regretful sweetness.

He put on his underwear and then went to put on his coat. But Zilan snatched his clothes away, saying, "It's the middle of the night now, you can stay here tonight! Go back tomorrow morning!"

Chapter Ten: After the First Night

The darkness receded, and the stars blinked wearily. Dawn bathed Zilan's room, where the jade-like beauty was slumbering.

Tianci, exhausted both physically and mentally, had been drinking and had released his pent-up desires. He lay down beside Zilan and quickly fell asleep.

In a daze, he walked out of his sister-in-law's room. Seeing that the light in the bridal chamber was still on, he went over and listened carefully by the window for a while, but there was no sound inside. He pushed open the door with a creak.

The bridal chamber was empty, and the red silk was neatly spread on the kang (a heated brick bed). Only one red candle remained on the candlestick on the floor table, hissing and dripping something like water. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be tears.

A muffled sound followed. He felt a chill run down his spine and hurriedly retreated towards the door. But standing there was a person—Xiuxiu. Xiuxiu was disheveled, her hair was disheveled, and her face was covered in blood. She uttered a pitiful sound: "I'm dead! Dead!" Before she could finish speaking, Xiuxiu stretched out her snake-like arms, her sharp fingers suddenly grabbing his neck, and screamed shrilly, "Give me back my body!" He suddenly felt difficulty breathing. He struggled desperately, and suddenly woke up with a start. Zilan was still asleep naked beside him. One of her snow-white arms was draped over his neck. Zilan's breathing was even, and the sweet expression on her face was still faintly visible. Next to Zilan was her child, Xiaochunzhi.

The crowing of roosters outside was already incessant. The hazy morning light had seeped into the room through the curtains. The room was warm, quiet, and hazy.

Tianci was drenched in a cold sweat from the dream he had just had. He got up and dressed, and seeing that Zilan had already kicked the blanket to the ground, he prepared to pull it back over her, but then Zilan woke up.

"Are you leaving?" she asked sleepily.

"Sister-in-law, it's already dawn, I should go. I'm worried that what happened last night might be exposed." "Heaven knows, earth knows, you know, and I know. Chunzhi is still young, she doesn't know anything, how could it be exposed?" His sister-in-law was fully awake.

"Then I'm leaving." He got out of bed and put on his shoes.

"Just like that, you're gone?" Zilan rolled over and lay on her side, supporting her head with her smooth arm as she looked at him.

"Is there anything else, sister-in-law?"

"You won't forget the passion from last night so soon, will you? I was the one who made you a man for the first time. You should kiss me before you leave!" Tianci turned back, gently kissed her cheek, and quickly walked out of the room.

The outside world was still shrouded in mist. Tianci remembered his dream and unconsciously looked towards his bridal chamber, where candlelight was still on.

He walked there uncontrollably. He stood by the window, listening intently, just like in his dream. Unlike the dream, there was no sound. He could hear Xiuxiu moaning softly.

Tao Baye had deflowered her three times that night, leaving Xiuxiu utterly exhausted and her body a mess.

The last time was at dawn. After deflowering her a second time in the middle of the night, Baye had slept soundly for a while, but when he woke up, his manhood was erect again. He rolled over and climbed on top of her. Xiuxiu had barely slept all night; she had experienced a nightmarish, demonic night.

Seeing that Eighth Master was coming up again, she pleaded desperately, "Please let me go this time, you've already taken it twice. I really can't take it anymore! Please!" Eighth Master, however, remained unmoved, which only fueled his lust.

"This is the last time, just bear with it!" he said, thrusting in again and beginning his lovemaking.

Xiuxiu felt as if her wounds were being stabbed repeatedly; she cried out in unbearable pain.

Tianci stood outside, and each of Xiuxiu's moans felt like a knife piercing his heart. Tianci's mother got up early and, seeing him standing outside the bridal chamber, forcibly dragged him back into her room. Tianci collapsed onto the kang (heated brick bed).

As Eighth Master left the bridal chamber, he told Xiuxiu, "For the next month, you don't need to do anything. Your eldest and second sisters-in-law are here!" Xiuxiu gritted her teeth and glared at him, wishing she could devour this old beast.

Xiuxiu didn't eat breakfast. She lay in the room, feeling dazed and confused, as if she were in a ghostly state. She went to the outhouse midway through the night. Walking was difficult, and urinating was excruciatingly painful due to swelling.

At lunchtime, when her mother-in-law called her, she went along and ate a little. She silently forced herself: if she didn't want to die, she had to live. That night was over; she should think about how to survive. Perhaps she wasn't the only woman in the world suffering like this.

On the night of the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, the absurdity and depravity in the Tao family compound were truly unparalleled: the bride was deflowered by her father-in-law; and the groom was deflowered by his sister-in-law.

Tao Tianci lay in his room in a daze all day. He wouldn't go to eat no matter who called him. After dark, his second sister-in-law, Zilan, brought him a bowl of noodles with poached eggs, which he ate. He kept his head down, eating the noodles, but dared not meet Zilan's gaze. He reminisced about the previous night; his remorse had faded. Pleasure and sweetness crept in, and he unconsciously looked up at Zilan. Their eyes met, and a sense of restlessness and intimacy arose. Zilan whispered in his ear, "You must have been exhausted last night! How are you going to get married tonight?" Tianci lowered his head and remained silent. She chuckled softly.

"Do you think I'll still get married tonight?" Tianci asked, confused.

"How would I know? Tonight's wedding night is yours alone. Can you not go?" Zilan's voice was indistinct, her heart aching.

Tianci wanted to say more, but his mother came in. Zilan greeted her and went out with an empty bowl. Tianci noticed her neck was flushed. His

mother came closer and felt much relieved to see him eat. She looked at him lovingly for a while and then instructed him about getting married tonight.

"Tonight is your wedding night. Your wife was thoroughly violated by your father last night, so she's probably not very satisfied. You need to take it easy. And don't drink cold water afterward." His mother gave him a lot of instructions, but he didn't bother to listen. But he was destined to get married tonight.
