[The Jade Guanyin of Willow Green] Chapter One

Chapter 1: Back to Nande

Yang Rui returned to Nande once again. It was already evening when he got off the train.
There , after all, it was a small city.

It was still early, and unlicensed motorcyclists were
soliciting business at the train station entrance. Yang Rui ignored them and walked onto the street with his bag on his back. Although he hadn't been here many times, he still had a general sense of direction. The anti-drug squad was in
the southwest , but if he had to walk there, it would probably take more than an hour. However, Yang Rui didn't plan
to go today. Even if someone was on duty this late, Lao Pan might not be there. He hadn't informed
Lao Pan , afraid that Lao Pan would tell him not to come over the phone.

Wandering aimlessly on the street, he eventually had to find a hotel to stay in. Although he had been on the train for more than ten hours,
Yang Rui didn't feel tired; instead, he felt a strange excitement.

Two months ago, Yang Rui's father passed away from a sudden myocardial infarction, passing away in his sleep without much
pain. Although Yang Rui and his father had argued and fought for various reasons, a father is still a father.
When Yang Rui carried the ashes to the cemetery, tears streamed down his face uncontrollably.

Yang Rui knew his father wanted him to be with Zhong Ning, not to secure a good job for himself, but
to ensure his son's financial security. His father would never understand his love for An Xin; a married woman
with a child—no parent in the world would approve.

When Yang Rui went to America to prepare for his marriage to Bei Bei, the father-son relationship seemed to improve slightly.
After his return from America, his father was truly and utterly disappointed in him. So, as his father passed away, Yang Rui
suddenly felt that perhaps the person he had wronged most in his life was his father. His father wanted what was best for his son, wanted to hold his grandchildren soon,
and wanted his son to live a comfortable life. Although his methods might not have been right, they weren't fundamentally
wrong.

However, Yang Rui had no regrets. Meeting An Xin, dating her, arguing, experiencing life and death together, and finally
separating —he never regretted it.

After his father passed away, Yang Rui suddenly felt restless in Beijing. Although the city was bustling, nothing about it
held any appeal for him. In the past, Yang Rui could sleep peacefully with his jade Guanyin pendant under his pillow. But
for the past month or so, he had been suffering from insomnia, constantly hallucinating knocking on the door. He spent sleepless nights, and his appearance
became increasingly haggard. Finally, more than two weeks ago, he made a decision: he sold the house his father had left him,
quit his job, and headed straight for Nande without looking back.

A police car with flashing red lights passed by Yang Rui, and he suddenly felt an indescribable surge of emotion. For the past six months,
he had called Lao Pan every few days to inquire about An Xin's situation. Although Lao Pan always evaded the question and never gave
a direct answer, Yang Rui had gleaned some clues from Lao Pan's words. First, he was certain that An Xin was not dead,
a fact Lao Pan had implicitly acknowledged; second, An Xin was carrying out a highly secret and important mission; and third,
there was a possibility that he and An Xin might meet again.

Yang Rui knew that Xiao Xiong's death had been a huge blow to An Xin; she couldn't face herself, couldn't live
an ordinary life. To guess the real reason for An Xin's departure, Yang Rui bought many books on psychology.
He felt that after Xiao Xiong's death, An Xin developed post-traumatic stress disorder, which then showed signs of depression. If
he had taken her to see a psychologist at that time, would she not have left? Yang Rui had tried to share this idea with Lao Pan,
which earned him a harsh rebuke: "You're the one who's mentally ill!" Yang Rui apologized repeatedly and never dared
to mention it again.

Yang Rui could understand that calling An Xin mentally ill for risking her life on a drug bust was an insult to her
character and a great disrespect to the entire drug bust team. But in Yang Rui's heart, he still
attributed An Xin's departure to the fact that she had lost all will to live, and didn't even want to live anymore, so she wanted to carry out the most
dangerous mission.

Yang Rui thought that a mental illness requires a mental cure. As Anxin completes one dangerous mission after another, capturing wave
after wave of drug dealers, her guilt towards Xiaoxiong will gradually lessen, and one day she will bravely face herself.
That day may take a year, two years, or even longer, but he is willing to wait.

Having walked through many streets, Yang Rui feels somewhat lost in this small city on the southwestern border. Compared to
his last , Nande seems more bustling. He passes a construction site; a ten-story building
has been topped out, and judging from the layout, it should be at least a four-star hotel.

Yang Rui feels as if Nande and Beijing were two different worlds when he last visited; it seems as if this place is still stuck in the 1960s or
70s. But seeing this tall building, he thinks that even small cities will eventually develop, just like people,
who always have to move forward.

Walking through a small alley, he suddenly hears someone calling him, "Little son, come play for a bit." Yang Rui
is startled and turns to see a woman in a short skirt revealing her white thighs speaking at the alley entrance. He thought for a moment.
"Little son" was a Yunnan dialect term meaning "young man," not something commonly used among friends, but rather by
adults to children or between lovers.

Seeing Yang Rui stop and seem somewhat stunned, the woman swayed her rather curvaceous figure towards him from the dim light
. Yang Rui quickly waved his hand, turned around, and quickened his pace. He had only taken a few steps when he heard the woman
behind him curse, "You've eaten mushrooms!" Having spent several years with An Xin, although they usually spoke
Mandarin, An Xin would occasionally use a few words of Yunnan dialect. Yang Rui understood what she meant; she was implying
he had taken the wrong medicine.

He was somewhat surprised to find streetwalkers in a place like Nande. In his
memory , this remote little city was like a forgotten corner of the world, with simple, honest people and
old-fashioned buildings. The building he had just seen had given him a sense of modernity and the changes in Nande, and
this sudden appearance of a streetwalker only intensified that feeling.

Yang Rui looked up and realized he'd gone to the wrong place. It was a narrow street, about a hundred meters long
, with five or six dark alleyways on either side. One or two women stood at the entrances of each alley. They wore
different shoes—high heels, slippers, and sneakers—but their skirts were all incredibly short. Yang Rui thought,
"Oh no, I've wandered into Nande's red-light district." He wanted to turn back, but once he crossed the alley, the streetlights seemed
quite bright; it must be a main road.

Gritting his teeth, Yang Rui continued walking. He wondered, why was he embarrassed about something like this?
The job Yang Rui had finally quit was the front desk manager of a horse racing club, a place even more upscale than a five-star hotel. The men who frequented
the were almost always accompanied by young, beautiful women, and he knew
that the women staying in the two long-term private rooms did this kind of work.

Perhaps it was because Yang Rui possessed a naturally charming appearance that attracted women, but the women who clung to the bosses
, when their patrons were busy with business and didn't have time for them, would often seek out the handsome front desk manager, whose
expression held a hint of melancholy. Faced with their overt or covert flirting, or rather, entanglements,
Yang Rui dealt with them with grace and composure, politely declining without losing his dignity. Over time, the women who
frequented the club gave him the nickname "Melancholy Prince," and anyone who could date him was considered
big news.

Yang Rui, of course, wasn't tempted by such women, but he didn't look down on them either. Although most
of were vain, many had also resorted to this path out of sheer desperation.
More than one woman had tearfully told him stories of her parents' illness, her brother's impending marriage, or her stock market
losses —half true, half false—but Yang Rui mostly chose to believe her, silently offering her a pack of tissues.

If it were the younger Yang Rui, perhaps something more would have happened after he handed them the tissues.
But because a woman named An Xin had entered his life, his heart was already filled with her, leaving no room for
anything else.

Yang Rui was somewhat nervous, partly because he hadn't expected it, and partly because of An Xin. This was
where she worked, lived, and fought; she was carrying out an important secret mission, perhaps somewhere in the shadows
. If she saw him in this brothel, he hoped she wouldn't misunderstand.

So Yang Rui quickened his pace, looking straight ahead as he crossed the alley. Sure enough, a brightly lit main street led ahead, and
he breathed a sigh of relief. This ordeal had left him feeling tired. After walking a few hundred meters more, he saw a reasonably
clean small hotel and went in to ask for a room.

Yang Rui had walked about five or six kilometers when he felt a bit hungry, so he took out instant noodles from his backpack.
After eating the noodles and taking a hot shower, he lay down on the bed. The small hotel was near the street, and although it was only a little past nine o'clock, there
were still cars passing by. It wasn't too noisy, but it wasn't exactly quiet either.

The last time he and An Xin came to Nande, they stayed in a similarly simple hotel. Those were the
happiest times for them, because they were there to get their marriage certificate.

Yang Rui remembered that on the day they arrived, although the journey was tiring, he didn't feel tired at all. An Xin and
Xiao Xiong slept in the same bed, and An Xin coaxed him to sleep. After much anticipation, Xiao Xiong finally fell asleep. In the darkness, he looked at An Xin's
undulating back as she turned to the side, and felt a fire burning inside him, making him parched and unable to sit
or still.

An Xin must have known how he was moaning back then, but after Xiao Xiong came to live with them, the frequency of
their lovemaking decreased drastically, and they had never made love next to Xiao Xiong. After all,
he . Children don't wake easily when they're asleep, but it would be too embarrassing if they did.

Anxin must have hesitated for a long time. In his interactions with Xiaoxiong, Yang Rui was somewhat jealous
of the child. Anxin cherished him too much; given the choice between the child and him, she must have favored the child. But now,
looking Anxin attracted him to so many things. Initially, it was her virginal purity that attracted him
; later, it was the mystery she maintained for so long, but ultimately, it was her innate,
strong maternal instinct that took root in his heart.

Like that night, he clearly remembered that Anxin hesitated for a long time before finally reluctantly going to his
bed. Perhaps in her eyes, he was also a somewhat immature big child who needed her care and comforting
.

That day, Yang Rui remembered that Anxin was wearing a dress with small floral prints. When she left, he even said that
when they registered their marriage, he would buy her a brighter dress, but she said she preferred simpler clothes and didn't
like bright reds or purples. Thinking about it, it made sense. Like a girl in a Chinese landscape painting, wearing brightly colored clothes didn't suit
her.

"Well, she should wear red for the wedding banquet, right?" that's what he said at the time.

"We'll see." They both agreed to get the marriage certificate, but they still
disagreed .

At the time, Yang Rui felt a little awkward, but now, thinking back, whether or not to have a banquet was completely
unimportant . He wished time could stop that night;
he still remembered every detail, every feeling, so clearly.

As soon as An Xin lay down, Yang Rui couldn't wait to slip his hand inside her clothes. He unhooked her bra and
began to fondle her soft breasts. An Xin gave the impression of being slender, delicate, even somewhat frail, but
this was actually an illusion created by her delicate, small oval face, slender waist, and thin legs.
Because she always wore relatively loose clothing, Yang Rui only later realized that her breasts
were much fuller than he had expected.

Speaking of her breasts, An Xin once said that they weren't this big when she was in school; they only
grew bigger after she had children. No matter how much Yang Rui loved An Xin, the fact that she had given birth still left him with a somewhat
inexplicable feeling.

When he pursued An Xin, Yang Rui was absolutely certain she was a virgin. He had slept with quite a few women in his life, but
none of them were virgins. Many men have a virginity complex, and sometimes Yang Rui wondered if they would have ended up together if she hadn't had so many secrets that fueled his curiosity. Although An Xin was now his girlfriend and they were about to register their marriage, he still felt a pang of jealousy and envy whenever he thought of the two men who had been intimate with her . An Xin's first man, her ex-husband, was dead, but An Xin's most beautiful years and purest body belonged to him. Yang Rui had wanted to ask her several times what her first time was like, whether she bled, and what she felt. What was he thinking? But he ultimately didn't ask these questions; if he did, An Xin would definitely be unhappy. And the second man...

He's a fugitive now, but An Xin has his child and loves it so much; in a sense,
he's lucky.

"Gently, you're hurting me," Yang Rui remembered An Xin saying.

For some reason, An Xin was particularly sensitive to the touch of her breasts; her nipples would harden at the slightest touch,
and if he rubbed them passionately, she would always cry out in pain unless she was already aroused.

Yang Rui apologized and began kissing her, his hand slipping under her skirt as he kissed her. When he touched An Xin
's private parts, Yang Rui was delighted. She seemed so hesitant, but in reality, she was just as eager as he was.

He felt An Xin had a strong duality when it came to sex. She could go half a month or even a month
without mentioning it, but sometimes she would act like a greedy female beast, endlessly demanding. He remembered when he first got out of prison
, they would have sex five or six times a day, until they both felt exhausted. But afterwards, especially after living
with , her need for sex seemed to have greatly decreased.

However, that night, touching Anxin's soaking wet private parts, Yang Rui knew she needed and
longed for it. So he slowly took off Anxin's panties, and then started to take off her dress.

"No, just like this," Anxin said at the time.

Little Bear was right next to them, and if he suddenly woke up, it would be too late to put on clothes. Yang Rui remembered feeling a little unhappy
at the time , but he didn't insist. He climbed on top of Anxin, lifted her dress, and entered
her body.

Before knowing about Little Bear, Yang Rui had already made love with her. Although Yang Rui knew she wasn't a virgin,
he would never have imagined that she had given birth. Perhaps because Anxin was relatively slender, he always felt
that her vagina was tighter than those of the girls he had slept with before.

They had only moved a few times when the wooden bed made a jarring sound. Anxin immediately held his waist,
looking at Little Bear nervously. Fortunately, the child was fast asleep and hadn't woken up.

"Be gentle, don't wake Little Bear." Anxin's hand remained on his waist.

Yang Rui tried moving again, but the old bed still made noise. Unless it was very, very quiet,
like in a slow-motion movie, the damn bed probably wouldn't make a sound.

"Put your hands down and try pressing against me,"

Yang Rui said, leaning down so their bodies were pressed tightly together. This position wasn't common for them; they sometimes used
it when they were close to climax. When An Xin squeezed her legs together, it would become even tighter, and he would reach climax faster. But soon,
they found that this didn't work either. No matter how Yang Rui moved up and down or side to side, the bed still made noise.
Every time there was a sound, An Xin would nervously turn her head to look at the teddy bear.

"This isn't working," An Xin said, a little nervous.

"Let's try something else," Yang Rui said, already sweating profusely.

An Xin on top didn't work, and lying on her stomach didn't work either. Yang Rui had to have An Xin lie on her side, and he
entered . This position wasn't common for them either; they usually only used
it when they were tired but didn't want it to end so quickly. But now it was their only option.

The bed would creak whenever Yang Rui moved, so he had to grab An Xin's protruding hip bones, pull her buttocks
towards him, and slowly push back after reaching the deepest point. After dozens of repetitions, Yang Rui heard An Xin's
breathing become heavier, so when he reached the deepest point in her body, he still grabbed her hips, letting her soft yet
firm buttocks rub gently against his hips, moving up and down and side to side.

How long did they do this that night? Yang Rui couldn't quite remember, but lying in
the darkness he seemed to hear An Xin's suppressed, faint moans. Was he hallucinating again
? Yang Rui pricked up his ears to find the source of the sound, and it really wasn't a hallucination.
Someone was probably doing the same thing in one of the rooms of this small hotel. Were they lovers? Was it an affair? Or perhaps it was the prostitute from earlier?
He couldn't tell from the sound alone, but Yang Rui preferred to believe the first one.

This was, after all, the place where Anxin had devoted her youth, passion, and even life. Although
the streetwalker who had suddenly appeared before Yang Rui had somewhat affected his mood, Nande was still his pilgrimage.

"Anxin, where are you? I'm here. I can feel you're right here, so very close. Anxin,
I've decided not to go back to Beijing. I'll wait for you here. I believe that one day, when you have the courage to face me
, you won't need to call, you won't need to take a train for dozens of hours, or even a car. Just
a few steps , open the door, and I'll be right in front of you."

The room wasn't warm, but Yang Rui was sweating profusely. He took off
the jade Guanyin and placed it neatly beside his pillow. With it, Yang Rui always felt that Anxin was by his side.

In the eyes of the Chinese, Guanyin represents compassion, just like Anxin, possessing the sublimity, greatness,
gentleness .

A cool, spring-like breeze brought Yang Rui relaxation and tranquility. He was tired and fell peacefully asleep.

Early in the morning, Yang Rui was awakened by the noisy sounds outside his window. He opened the window and looked at the people on the street,
once feeling the vitality and energy of the city.

At eight o'clock, after having breakfast, Yang Rui headed towards the Nande Narcotics Enforcement Team, following the direction he remembered. At 8:30,
before most office buildings in Beijing had even opened for work, people and cars were constantly entering and leaving the Narcotics Enforcement Team, everyone
walking hurriedly. In Yang Rui's view, regardless of height, weight, or appearance, as long as someone wore a police uniform,
a solemn and dignified aura would immediately appear. Working in such a place, the so-called "atmosphere" could
truly bring about changes in a person that they themselves could not imagine.

"It's you, how did you get here?"

Before he even reached the registration area at the entrance, an elderly man who looked like a security guard
greeted . Yang Rui still remembered that the man who handled the registration procedures last time he came was also him, but
they had only met once. The man recognized him so quickly. At this moment, Yang Rui felt that the Narcotics Enforcement Team had a hidden talent pool, and even an
ordinary security guard seemed to be quite extraordinary.

"Hello, yes, I'm here. By the way, I'm looking for Captain Pan."

Given this, Yang Rui's tone was not only polite but even carried a hint of respect.

"Okay, let me register you. Captain Pan might be a bit busy today."

The old man picked up the phone, connected, and said, "Yang Rui is here." The other person seemed to say only one sentence before
the old man hung up.

"Captain Pan wants you to wait in the small meeting room; he'll come find you when he's done."

Yang Rui registered, asked for the location of the small meeting room, politely said goodbye, and walked towards the courtyard. In the parking lot
to the left of , there were six or seven police cars, two of which were new. Yang Rui felt that the anti-drug squad was also
keeping up with the times, just like Nande.

The small meeting room was on the second floor. As he walked past the corner of the stairs, a figure suddenly rushed out. He was still looking at
the people coming and going in the courtyard and didn't notice the person suddenly darting out. Both of them were knocked to the ground.
Fortunately, Yang Rui was young and reacted quickly. After sliding down two steps, he grabbed the stair railing,
preventing himself from tumbling down the wooden stairs. However, because he was carrying a large bag, he couldn't get up immediately. The person who had fallen with him
was holding a large stack of documents, which were now falling like snowflakes, making it difficult for Yang Rui to see
them .

"You!"

Yang Rui wanted to curse. Although he hadn't been watching where he was going, he was walking slowly, so even if he
bumped into someone, he wouldn't be hurt. However, seeing the man in a police uniform and that he had also been knocked to the ground, he swallowed his curse
. The other person got up faster than him, which didn't surprise Yang Rui
. After all, she was a police officer, and she was bound to be more agile than him.

But when Yang Rui saw the person clearly, he was genuinely surprised. It was a woman. He
had almost been knocked down the stairs by a woman, which made this grown man from Beijing feel a little embarrassed.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't see you. Are you alright?"

Before Yang Rui could even react, she ran to his side and grabbed his arm, pulling him up.
Yang Rui felt that her hand was soft, but the pull was strong. He couldn't help but straighten up and stumble
up the stairs.

"Are you hurt anywhere? Are your bones broken? Can you walk?" The policewoman who bumped into Yang Rui looked
anxious .

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Yang Rui brushed the dust off his clothes, straightened his backpack, and felt
a burning pain in his shoulders, back, and buttocks, but he was sure his bones weren't broken. She was An Xin's colleague, and a woman too
. Even if she bumped into him, she wasn't seriously injured, so he should at least show some courtesy.

Yang Rui looked up, wanting to say a few words of comfort, but when he looked at her, he suddenly froze.
The policewoman who bumped into him was quite beautiful. Yang Rui wasn't unfamiliar with beautiful women; those who
frequented , although their work wasn't exactly honorable, were all exceptionally
beautiful.

Yang Rui had always been powerless against beautiful girls. But after returning from his trip to southern Germany, faced with the allure of
beautiful girls, he felt he had reached a rather high level of spiritual attainment. He wasn't exactly a saint, nor had he seen through
the illusions of the world; he simply possessed the most beautiful woman in the world, and his heart was now empty.

However, the woman who had bumped into him before him left Yang Rui feeling utterly stunned. Her beauty
was different from An Xin's. An Xin possessed an elegant, subtle, and clear beauty, as serene and lofty as an ink wash painting,
and as profound and mysterious as the stars in the night sky. Yang Rui had never seen An Xin in a police uniform, and even if An Xin
did, this woman would certainly look more like a police officer.

Her face was slightly rounder than An Xin's, somewhere between an oval and heart-shaped face, with
beautiful features, flawless, and possessing a strong, heroic air. Yang Rui estimated her height
to be 1.7 meters. The well-fitting dark blue police uniform accentuated her figure; her legs were long, a fact that required no
guessing. Judging from the sharp curve of her waist, it must be quite slender. And… and… Yang Rui's gaze
swept over her high, firm breasts, not daring to linger for a moment.

Beautiful things always attract people, and of course, at first glance, Yang Rui was
merely momentarily , without any ill intentions or thoughts. But at this moment, he had no idea that this
girl who had almost knocked him down the stairs would be so closely connected to his life, bringing such a profound and important influence.

"Who are you? Who are you looking for?"

"My name is Yang Rui, I'm looking for Captain Pan."

Yang Rui saw a hint of wariness in her eyes, a look quite fitting for her image and
status . He had heard An Xin say before that the anti-drug situation in Nande had become increasingly severe in recent years, with drug traffickers becoming more and more cunning,
even extending their tentacles into the internal workings of the public security system. For a stranger suddenly appearing in the anti-drug team, it was, of course,
necessary to first ascertain their identity.

Yang Rui saw her eyes suddenly widen, as if she had seen something that surprised her.

"You are..."

She stopped abruptly halfway through her sentence, but Yang Rui knew she must have heard of him.

"You know me."

She shook her head.

"You know An Xin, right?"

This time she seemed to want to nod, but then shook her head vigorously.

Yang Rui knew she definitely knew An Xin, but perhaps because of discipline, she couldn't reveal anything about An Xin to him
. He could understand, so Yang Rui didn't continue asking.

"Let me help you tidy up the files."

Feeling like he was being looked at like a rare animal, Yang Rui looked at the scattered
papers and said. She was An Xin's colleague, and he should leave her a good impression no matter what.

As Yang Rui was about to bend down, the pretty policewoman generously extended her hand and said, "Let's get acquainted,
my name is Liu Qingqing."

Yang Rui quickly straightened up and shook her hand. He was right, her hand was very soft. He couldn't believe
she had such strength to lift him up in one go.

This was Yang Rui and Liu Qingqing's first meeting. Fate, like an invisible hand, propelled the two
young people towards an unknown path. Faced with fate, do people truly have the power to change their destiny? This was
a question Yang Rui, An Xin, and Liu Qingqing would ask themselves during their darkest moments.

While helping Liu Qingqing tidy up the scattered documents, the beautiful policewoman in her uniform, like a thief,
would occasionally steal curious glances at him. She looked cute, and a little funny. Yang Rui knew...
It wasn't because he was too handsome, but because she knew An Xin, knew An Xin's story. He really wanted
to ask , but hesitated for a long time and decided not to make things difficult for her.

Yang Rui waited in the conference room for a long time, from nine o'clock until two in the afternoon, but Captain Pan didn't appear.
At he saw the pretty policewoman again, and she brought him a boxed lunch.

"When did you come here?"

Although this pretty policewoman didn't show her curiosity as much as before, Yang Rui still felt something was off.

"More than half a year."

When he first saw her, Yang Rui thought she was about twenty-three or twenty-four years old. But now she was no longer
wary or vigilant, and a girlish expression appeared on her face. Yang Rui knew he might be wrong; her
actual age was probably only around twenty, or even just graduated from police academy. So Yang Rui asked, "Just
graduated from police academy?"

"Yes, graduated last year."

His guess was confirmed, and Yang Rui couldn't help but smile. He asked again: You're from Nande, right? "

No, I'm from Kunming."

Suddenly, a surge of warmth welled up in Yang Rui's chest—a feeling of being moved. An Xin's hometown was Guangping
, bigger than Nande, but still a small city compared to Kunming.
What kind of belief and strength led a twenty-year-old girl, living in a bustling metropolis like Kunming, to come to Nande, to this dangerous battlefield?

"Doing this must be dangerous."

"Dangerous what? You don't know Captain Pan. In the six months since he came here, I can count on one hand the number of times he's left this compound. Typing
all day , or organizing materials—it's incredibly boring. Once, I finally begged Captain Pan
to let me participate in an operation, and he made me sit in the car the whole time. Okay, we caught the person, a woman. When she was
brought he just let me search her, and that was it."

Yang Rui laughed. Captain Pan was just like that. It was the same when An Xin came here; he never let
her participate in dangerous operations. He always wanted to protect An Xin, but not everything was within his control
.

The two quickly became acquainted. Yang Rui didn't ask about An Xin's situation, deciding to wait until he met Lao Pan. Although
Yang Rui guessed Liu Qingqing's real age, she was still more talkative and cheerful than he had imagined. She
kept asking Yang Rui what Beijing was like, whether the Great Wall was fun, whether Tiananmen Square was magnificent, whether he had seen the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square,
and even whether there were ghosts in the Forbidden City.

Yang Rui answered each question with a smile. He had always been very patient with women, even before he met An Xin.
Just as they were finishing their meal, a tall man in a police uniform walked in, said, "Captain Wu is looking for you,"
and turned to leave. He was only in and out for a few seconds, but Yang Rui had a feeling that the man had glanced at him,
and his gaze seemed rather unfriendly. Judging from his young age and the fact that he didn't know him, perhaps he was handling some
important case, or perhaps he was just imagining things, Yang Rui thought.

Watching the beautiful policewoman's figure disappear like the wind, Yang Rui sighed, "Youth is truly wonderful!" Although
they weren't much older, after experiencing so much, he felt like he had aged considerably.

It was almost three o'clock when Captain Pan finally entered the meeting room. He looked even more weathered and
thinner than before, having been absent for over six months.

"What are you doing here?"

Captain Pan threw his hat down and sat on the sofa, looking exhausted and
impatient .

"My dad passed away. I can't stay in Beijing anymore, so I thought I'd better stay here."

"Why would you leave Beijing? Are you out of your mind?"

Because An Xin and Lao Pan had a father-daughter-like relationship, Yang Rui considered Lao Pan
an elder.

"I'll wait for her here; it makes me feel more at ease."

Hearing this, Lao Pan's face immediately darkened. A sudden, ominous premonition began to
grow .

"Is something wrong with Anxin? If so, you have to tell me. You lied to me once,
you can't lie to me a second time."

"I don't know."

Perhaps after decades as a policeman, even just staring at you without saying a word could create a strong sense
of pressure , let alone such a blunt statement. Yang Rui felt a chill run down his spine.

After a long silence, Old Pan said with a grave expression, "If you hadn't done that, sigh..."
followed by a silent sigh.

At that moment, Yang Rui regretted it so much he wanted to bang his head against the wall. The "that" Old Pan was referring to was his
plan to go to America to marry Beibei. Although Old Pan had never mentioned it, how could he not know with his abilities?
Now it seemed that his plans to marry Beibei had greatly affected Anxin, leading her to make
a decision that even Old Pan disagreed with, a decision that was undoubtedly extremely dangerous.

"No matter what, just tell me the truth." Yang Rui felt like he was about to cry.

"It's not what you think, don't ask anymore." Old Pan instantly regained his composure. Seeing his expression,
Yang Rui didn't speak again. He knew it was impossible to get any more information about An Xin from him.

"You're here this time, not leaving?"

"No, I'm staying here."

"That's good. Nande is still a good place."

Although Old Pan couldn't represent An Xin, Yang Rui knew he was definitely in contact with her. His words meant
he agreed to stay, which was important. Of course, he would also tell An Xin this news,
hoping to prove himself through his actions and make up for his past mistakes.

"Is there anything else? I have a meeting to attend."

"There's one more thing. That year, I was wrongly imprisoned, and Anxin raised 280,000
yuan to get me released. I want to return that money to her parents and also meet the two elderly people."

Captain Pan hesitated for a moment before saying, "I'll think about it and also ask the two elderly people's opinion. By the way,
where did you get so much money?"

"My dad has two houses. I didn't sell his; I'm not living in Beijing anymore, so keeping mine is useless.
I heard the two elderly people sold their ancestral home. Although I might not be able to buy it back, at least it will allow them to live comfortably ."
" Make your life more comfortable. This is what I owe them. Please tell them that if I don't pay it back, I will never have
a peaceful mind . Also, if the two elders disagree, I will come to see you every day."

The last sentence had a somewhat threatening tone, but Yang Rui was determined to pay it back. Moreover, although
Old Pan was ostensibly asking for the elders' opinions, he definitely needed An Xin's consent. If An Xin agreed, it meant she
had forgiven his mistake. "You!"

Seeing Yang Rui's resolute expression, Old Pan was speechless.

"Alright, that's settled. You go first, I'll let you know if there's any news."

Watching Old Pan's hurried back, Yang Rui slung his backpack over his shoulder and walked out. Just as he was leaving, a police car
roared in. Yang Rui turned around, hoping that it was An Xin jumping out.

There was no An Xin. Several plainclothes officers dragged a masked, handcuffed man out of the car and into the building.
He must be a drug dealer too. At that moment, Yang Rui felt something heaving in his chest.

To be continued...

This is the legendary "Yang Liu Qingqing Jade Guanyin," a story that incorporates the names of three people: Yang Rui,
An Xin, and Liu Qingqing.

It can be considered fanfiction, but personally, I see it as a completely new creation.

"Fiery Blaze" hasn't been very popular, facing many issues: audience reach, plot, and the superheroine/saintly trope might not
appeal to everyone. After all, we live in reality.

Over the years, I've written the beginning of "Mystery 4," but due to the lack of a complete storyline, I didn't continue.
I also tried writing this story, but due to several computer malfunctions, everything I wrote has been lost.

This is a genuine female police officer story, with pure love elements, but as you know, my writing always
contains darkness, and very darkness at that. Please offer your valuable feedback.

Based on the current plot, I estimate it will be around chapters 20-25. If I manage it well, it could reach 300,000 words. I
really don't want to end up like "Fiery Blaze," where a single sex scene can be 50,000-60,000 words long. The major plot points are already set, unlike "
Fiery Blaze," where you have no idea what will happen next.

This is just a preview version; good articles require repeated revisions.

Appendix: Jade Guanyin Synopsis (from Baidu)

Through his friend Liu Minghao's introduction, Yang Rui joined the Taekwondo training class at the Beijing Normal University Sports School, where he met An
Xin, a handyman. An Xin's pure appearance, melancholic eyes, and mysterious background deeply attracted Yang Rui.
As their interactions increased, Yang Rui gradually learned about An Xin's bumpy and complicated past…

An Xin's hometown is Qingmian, Yunnan. She won the provincial women's Taekwondo championship in middle school and
was admitted to the Guangping Public Security College in the first round of the college entrance examination. While caring for the principal who was seriously ill, she met and fell in love with his son, Zhang Tiejun, a
journalist . After graduating from university, she insisted on working at the grassroots level of the Nande Public Security Bureau.
An unexpected encounter with the handsome and passionate Mao Jie led to an affair, and she became pregnant with his
child which destroyed her marriage with Tiejun. During a mission, she discovered that Mao Jie was actually a drug trafficker

The anti-drug squad wiped out a drug trafficking ring led by Mao Jie's parents. After learning An Xin's true
identity began a frenzied revenge, and Zhang Tiejun died at his hands. Out of care and
concern, the organization helped her find a job at a building materials company in Beijing, allowing her to live under an assumed name. However, due to the unreasonable harassment of the company
manager An Xin was forced to leave again, bringing her child to Beijing. Through an acquaintance,
she got a job as a handyman at the Beijing Taekwondo Club. Later, she was falsely accused and forced to leave again. She worked for two days in a small restaurant before
finally ending up selling furniture at the Sanhuan Furniture City…

Yang Rui was in charge of a construction project at Guoning Company and was arrested for alleged bribery. An Xin pulled
strings and ran around to help him, finally securing his acquittal due to insufficient evidence against him.

Yang Rui, who had never taken any responsibility for love before, was moved by An Xin's character and fell deeply in love with
her . They decided to get married. While on their way to Yunnan to obtain a marriage certificate, An Xin encountered Mao Jie again. With An Xin's
help, the Nande Public Security Bureau killed Mao Jie, but he had already murdered the kidnapped bear…

An Xin and Yang Rui returned to Beijing. Yang Rui believed that time would heal An Xin's inner pain, and their happiness would come sooner or later. However, a few days later, An Xin disappeared after leaving a letter. In the letter, she said she wanted to take responsibility
for her deceased husband and son. Yang Rui found the Nande Public Security Bureau's Narcotics Enforcement Team. Captain Pan told him that An Xin was doing what she was willing to dedicate herself to, and that it was her own choice. Before parting, Captain Pan gave Yang Rui the jade Guanyin pendant that An Xin always carried, a symbol of kindness, ideals, and motherhood.
