Reborn from the ashes

Three chapters left, racing towards the end.
Actually, I've already cut this story down by two-thirds, removing almost everything that could be cut, including the main plot of the Empire arc.
I've finally made it to the final ending.

9 Another Possibility of Vanishing
In Laubers' private villa, there was a large glass water tank, and a blonde girl was immersed
in it. Through the tank, you could see that the girl's eyes were closed, her entire body naked and presented to everyone
's view. Her golden hair was spread out in the water, and her snow-white, crystalline body,
reflected in the clear water, was as beautiful as a fairy in the water. Her beauty was perfect,
the ultimate beauty created by the gods, a divine beauty that even the best painter could not depict. But now, that beauty
was brutally torn apart. Her skin was as white as a newborn's, yet
the marks of nails piercing her wrists were still clearly visible. Her body bore numerous needle
marks from excessive injections; her bones were broken, several ribs removed, and then reshaped and modified in the hands of a demon, ultimately
making her body more supple and sensual, even capable of movements ordinary girls couldn't make.
But all of this was deeply etched into her flesh like a demon's brand, as if mocking
her, forever twisting her purity.
The girl floated silently in the water, her body beginning to heal, but also permanently
altered. From this moment on, she would live with this modified, alluring body, to be played with, ridiculed
, and defiled. The immense side effects of this physical transformation would forever subject her to excruciating
pain until the end of her life.
"This is truly remarkable. To recover from such severe injuries is truly a daughter of water," Balman
exclaimed. The girl, who had been on the verge of death, was slowly healed in the water—an
ability impossible for ordinary people.
"Indeed, as long as the body isn't severed, even the most serious injuries can be healed in the water. This
is why she's been able to live so long in Seraman." Laubers knew that the brutality inflicted on Lynd
far exceeded what an ordinary woman could endure. If it weren't for this special constitution, Lyndice would
have perished long ago. But it was precisely this constitution that allowed her to endure hardships far beyond what ordinary people could bear.
"Tywin of the Empire, why didn't you follow Azan's orders?" When Laubers and Balman arrived
, Tywin handed Lyndice, whose body had already been modified, over to them. Although she appeared to be on the verge of death,
Tywin hadn't actually performed any destructive procedures; instead, he had pursued his aesthetics and carried out a physical modification
.
"I never said I would follow Yazan's instructions. I came here solely for my aesthetics, to
use the finest materials to complete my masterpiece. What's the point if my masterpiece dies?" The cold
man stated everything; in his eyes, Lindis in the pool was merely his creation. A softer
body, a more slender waist—this man made the already beautiful girl even more alluring, but
at the same time, he inflicted indelible damage on her body; the pain from softened bones would accompany her for the
rest of her life.
But of course, this cold-hearted man didn't care about any of this.
Floating in the water, no one noticed the tears streaming from the corners of the girl's eyes.
...
"Is that woman still there?" Balman walked to the underground cell block. In the farthest cell,
Xi was bound. The red-haired girl was completely naked, and although bound, she didn't appear to have been violated;
she simply hung her head, listless and silent. Balman gestured for the guard to open the door, then slipped inside.
"Has she been like this for the past few days?" Balman asked the guard.
"Yes, she's just been listless, not saying a word, not moving an inch," the guard said. Sure enough,
Balman stepped forward, and Xi only glanced at him before lowering her head again. Her long red hair was matted together, hanging
down limply, making her look utterly dejected.
Who would have thought that this was a girl who had once destroyed a city and possessed even more terrifying power?
"It's truly pathetic. The reborn Mysera has become like this." Balman gently lifted his head
to look at Xi's face. "Her pupils are lifeless; there's no difference between her living and dead."
"However, this news might give you a glimmer of hope." Balman put Xi's face down and stood up.
"Lindis is still alive. You can see her now."
"Lindis is still alive?" Xi looked up in surprise, her eyes indeed revealing a trace of life.
"Take me there, I beg you, take me there..."
"I can, but sometimes it's better not to go," Balman sighed. The merchant of "Golden Horseshoe
" felt neither sympathy nor disgust for Xi. To him, Xi was
a tool to achieve his goals—powerful but uncontrollable. Even without Xi, Chairman Balman was still capable of continuing his
plan and welcoming the return of the King of Seraman.
...
At Laubers' banquet, the blonde girl remained the star of the show. When Lin reappeared, she was
even more alluring and sexy. Her breasts were larger, her waist more slender, and her body soft and boneless, allowing for free
manipulation, like a submissive doll. Dressed in revealing lingerie, she struck various seductive
poses on stage.
A chain bound her snow-white neck, and the girl was surrounded and defiled like a beautiful dog.
Of course, what the audience cared about most was her incredibly soft body, seemingly able to bend to
angles almost impossible for humans, and soft and tender, like a moving doll, ready to be
defiled and played with at will.
Breasts, thighs, vagina, buttocks—any part of this girl's body could bring men to orgasm,
and she was like a lamb, weak and submissive, unable to resist, letting men play with her body. (Evening)
The banquet lasted a long time. Lin was the center of attention; her beauty, her temperament, and her gentleness
became the focus of the men's amusement. In one climax after another, the poor girl was exhausted until she had no
strength left to stand, but they still didn't let her go. When the banquet ended,
Lin, covered in semen, was left on the stage like a broken doll, uncared for and ignored
.
Her eyes were empty.
"Lin, is that you? You're still alive?" In the darkness, Lin seemed to hear a familiar voice. Opening
her eyes, the red-haired girl appeared before her. Although she had been tortured beyond recognition, Xi was overjoyed
to see Lin alive, a glimmer of hope in her heart. Ignoring the filth on Lin's body, she was about to embrace her when Lin unexpectedly stepped back, crossing her arms over her chest, revealing an expression of fear and resistance. This single action made Xi's heart sink. "Lin, what's wrong?" "Don't touch me...please...no, don't..." Lin curled up in fear, looking utterly pitiful . "It's me, don't you recognize me? It's me!" Xi called out again, unwilling to give up. Lin continued to shrink back, her refusal leaving Xi stunned. "Can't you see? She no longer trusts you." At this moment, Roberts emerged from the darkness . "She gave you everything, and you deceived her, hurt her, and made her like this." "No, I didn't do it, I never thought of it, how could I...?" "What did you tell her? That you are the Ruby Mysella, born from the ashes, her natural nemesis? That it was because of your existence that her life became a living puppet?" "I..." Xi couldn't speak. Lin had confessed everything to her, including her identity. But Xi hadn't; she had always been afraid to tell the other woman her true identity. The Sapphire Princess of the Western Alliance and the Ruby Princess of the Eastern Empire were born enemies, destined to hurt and fight each other. Therefore, Xi never dared, nor wanted to, damage her only, small happiness. Unbeknownst to her, this blonde girl had become the last hope in her life. What kind of despair and anger must one feel when surrounded by endless betrayal and deception, even betrayed by one's own parents? But Lin's gentleness and kindness allowed this girl to feel a glimmer of light in the darkness, warm yet fragile, and she had to carefully prevent this last hope from being extinguished. "Her suffering began because of you, Mysera of the Empire," Laubers continued. "It was your killing of General Leif of Acelia in the war that led to the first defeat of the Western Alliance, which in turn triggered the second full-scale invasion. At the same time, it also sealed Acelia's fate; you destroyed everything she had with your own hands." Touched by Laubers, the girl's eyelids twitched, but she remained silent. "Hmph, as expected of the Dragon Riders' leader. I heard you rode atop a dragon, finishing the kill from above . Some even call you a renowned general of the Empire," Laubers said, clapping his hands. "I... I didn't know things would turn out this way, Lynn, I really didn't know." Xi turned her head towards the blonde girl, but Lyndis remained curled up, coldly rejecting her. "Oh? You're still clinging to your ignorance? Or do you... you can destroy someone's hope with a mere flick of your wrist, just like what you did to Kurami? Kurami's jinx?" "That has nothing to do with Lynn!" Xi retorted. "But if you hadn't burned Kurami, Yazan wouldn't have been burned to a crisp and bandaged, and he wouldn't have come to Seraman. He wouldn't have invited Tywin of the Empire. It was all your fault." "No, it's not like that. I never thought that way. I didn't know." Ignoring Roberts 's sarcasm, Xi stepped forward to embrace Lin's soft body. "Believe me, I never intended to hurt you. I didn't know this would happen." "You didn't know? Then in Seraman, you knew that Lindis would be punished if she went to you, so why did you still do it? She doesn't need you, yet you unilaterally clung to her, treating her as a spiritual crutch, using her sympathy and kindness to warm yourself. Do you admit that?" Roberts's final words dealt a heavy blow to both girls' hearts. "Lin, you don't actually need me?" Xi froze. "All along, it's because of me that you've been hurt?" Suddenly, she understood. Roberts was right; everything had been her wishful thinking. Lin was an incredibly gentle girl to everyone. Because of her gentleness, some people presumptuously assumed she was only gentle to one person, becoming smug and hurting her. And she herself became that person who hurt Lin. Whether Roberts's words were fair or not, her very existence had consistently caused Lin harm. "You even murdered the knight who was secretly protecting her, in that underground sewer," Roberts, the obese man, laughed smugly. "In that respect, I should thank you for catching the traitor within my ranks." "Is that true?" Lin finally spoke, her eyes filled with fear and pain, her mind still somewhat hazy. But her movements were an attempt to break free from Xi's grasp, retreating. "I don't know… I really don't know why things turned out this way, Lin… I…" Xi's heart felt as if it had been plunged into an abyss, watching the girl before her gradually reject her. She realized the pain her existence brought to Lin. At that moment, a thunderbolt struck, and a torrential downpour descended from the sky. The sound of the violent wind and rain drowned out everything. No matter how hard Xi tried, her voice could not reach her, and Lin's lips moved slightly, but Xi could not hear them either. Their voices and longings were thus concealed by the storm. ... This was a rare downpour; everyone in Seraman scrambled for shelter, the wealthy taking refuge in tall buildings.

Inside the stone houses, the poor huddled under the narrow eaves, watching the rain wash over the city.
In the midst of this torrential downpour, the poor huddled in their mud houses saw a beautiful red-haired woman
walking listlessly down the street. The rain lashed her body, but she seemed oblivious, walking aimlessly
forward, letting the rain soak her. The downpour intensified, becoming so heavy that it was difficult to even open one's eyes. The streets
were deserted except for the girl; her striking figure stood out.
At this moment, Xi's heart was filled with regret and despair. Lin's rejection and fear had plunged her into an
abyss, bottomless and devoid of light. The last ray of sunshine in her heart had left her, leaving her all alone
. She felt no hatred for Lin's rejection; she could read fear and dread in Lin's eyes. She didn't
know when she had become such a frightening figure.
"A jinx, the jinx of Kurami," Xi looked up at the torrential rain, recalling
the evaluations people had given her in the Empire. Only now did she truly understand what kind of being she was
.
The power she had once been proud of and boasted about was actually a calamity that instilled deep fear in others;
everything she had done had invisibly affected others. She had thought herself a beacon of hope, but in reality, she represented
a raging inferno of destruction.
Finally back in her room, as expected, the roof had long since leaked, and the entire room was flooded
. But Xi seemed oblivious, as if she couldn't see or feel it. Princess Lin, surprisingly capable,
busily arranged the room neatly, making it feel like a real home. But if Lin was gone, this
was no longer a home. Xi squatted in the corner, staring blankly at the stove before her. The flooded stove
was no longer usable. Once, a blonde girl had sat there, around the stove, baking fragrant bread.
"Xi, just a little longer, it'll be ready soon."
Lin's silvery voice echoed in her mind, even her image slowly appearing before her eyes—
cute and beautiful like a blonde doll, wearing a naked apron, incredibly alluring. She was half-squatting
in front of the stove, watching the fire, occasionally turning her head to smile.
Thinking about this, Xi's hand fell to her side. Where, originally, was that girl's hand. Lin was a fragile
girl; she was always afraid. When she was afraid, her hands would become cold and tremble. At these
times, Xi would gently hold her hand, transferring her strength to her, and Lin would softly lean on Xi's
shoulder, calming down.
It's hard to describe the feeling she had for Lin. It wasn't love, but a pure affection combined with a pure
redemption.
Lin was the kind of girl she liked best.
Lin was the only girl who gave her light in the darkest moments of her life.
These two feelings mixed together, creating the most sincere emotion.
Sometimes, Xi would think of that book, her favorite fairy tale book.
In the fairy tale of Meiling, the female knight Meiling and Princess Airing, as interludes, embark on a long journey
. In that story, the two girls huddle together, caring for each other, traveling together across
the world. In each place, in each city, there are small, not legendary, but heartwarming little stories
. In winter, they watch the snowflakes fall from their window; by a campfire in the wild, they warm themselves
; in a happy town, they share unfamiliar foods; in a sea of flowers and grass
, they gallop on horseback; by a beautiful lake, they play and frolic… and many, many more such
stories.
Thinking about it, the images of the female knight Meiling and Princess Airing transform into her and Lin. Xi had wondered
what she would do if she could escape with Lin. She was the ruby of the empire, born a princess,
a soldier, and a socialite. Her life had been spent in high society and the military; war and intrigue were familiar
flavors to her. Beyond that, she had nothing. In Kurami, when she learned the truth, she felt she truly
had nothing left.
But in her time with Lin, Xi found another possibility. In that possibility, she was no longer the empire
's ruby, Mysella, but a girl named Xi, traveling with her favorite doll. In
that possible timeline, she accompanied Lin around the world, silently protecting her smile.
She truly felt that seeing Lin's happy smile was more joyful than anything else.
She closed her eyes, her thoughts drifting far away.
A carriage traveled through the fields, carrying two lovely girls: one a
blonde girl as cute as a doll, the other a strikingly beautiful girl with long, bright red hair. The blonde girl rested her head
on the red-haired girl's shoulder; their fingers were intertwined, tightly clasped, and they slept side by side.
The warm sunlight streaming through the carriage window bathed the girls, and they slept sweetly as the smooth carriage slowly carried them
into the distance.
The downpour had stopped. Xi opened her eyes; she knew that this possibility was gone forever.
