"A Family in Turmoil" - Chapter Six: Bearing Humiliation and Hardship

The next morning, Wang Lixia was sitting in front of her computer in her office on the second floor of the train station, sorting out bills, when she suddenly received a call from her husband, Zhang Liang. His voice was urgent: "Xiaoxia, something's happened! You need to come home right away!" Before Wang Lixia could say anything, he hung up.
This unexpected phone call sent Wang Lixia into a frenzy, her legs trembling. She had no idea what had happened at home. Judging from her husband's panicked and anxious voice, something terrible must have occurred! Without even turning off her computer, she grabbed her bag and rushed out of the office. She usually took the bus home, but with the situation so tense and her mind preoccupied with home, she couldn't wait to fly there. So she hailed a taxi and sped off!
Upon entering the living room, I saw my husband, Zhang Liang, sitting on the sofa, his hands supporting his chin, trembling all over! He looked terrified!
Wang Lixia was shocked and rushed to his side, anxiously asking, "Honey, what happened? Why are you so frightened?"
Upon hearing his wife's voice, Zhang Liang felt as if a savior had appeared. He looked up and grabbed Wang Lixia's hand in a panic, saying, "Xiaoxia, you're finally here! Something's happened! Something's happened!"
"Honey, don't be afraid. Tell me what happened!" Wang Lixia was a shrewd and capable woman. Seeing her husband so frightened, she didn't want to upset him further, so she comforted him.
"I...I crashed my car into a BMW. Director Ye was in the car at the time. Now the BMW driver is demanding 250,000 yuan in compensation from me, and Director Ye wants to dismiss me from my post. Xiaoxia, what should I do?" Zhang Li said to her with a face full of sorrow. He looked at Wang Lixia with tears in his eyes and a desperate look in his eyes.
Ah! Wang Lixia's head was buzzing! She almost fainted! My God, how could such a disaster happen to him? It was truly a misfortune from the sky! The first thing that came to her mind was that she absolutely could not come up with 250,000 yuan! Then she thought about her husband being dismissed from his post, which meant he would immediately lose his job and his secure livelihood!
"Xiaoxia, what should we do..." Zhang Liang became even more panicked when he saw his wife looking dazed and helpless. He grabbed her hand and asked anxiously!
“You’re driving for the company, so the company should be the one to claim compensation!” Wang Lixia suddenly blurted out.
“I told Director Ye the same thing back then, and he said it was all because I was distracted while driving! I thought of the insurance company, and thankfully, they said they would cover all the compensation. But Director Ye said I was so careless while driving and now he wants to remove me from my position. Xiaoxia, my position is a secure job! If I lose it, what will we do for the rest of our lives? Our son Zhang Shuang still needs so much money for school. What are we going to do?” Zhang Li explained to his wife, both frightened and nervous.
"Thank God!" Wang Lixia's heart immediately relaxed when she heard that she didn't have to pay the 250,000 yuan. She then said to her husband, "Don't be so pessimistic. Haven't you often taken me to dinner with Director Ye? I think he's a nice guy! Let's talk to him properly, or maybe we should buy him some gifts?" As she spoke, Wang Lixia recalled the time her husband took her to dinner with Director Ye, and she noticed that Director Ye's gaze towards her was different! She had a feeling then that Director Ye liked her, and then he kept urging her to drink! If it weren't for this incident, Wang Lixia would have forgotten about it long ago. Now, just mentioning Director Ye reminded her of that time!
"Xiaoxia, this is terrible! I've gotten into such a big mess this time, and I even scared Director Ye half to death while he was sitting in the car. He's determined to fire me!" Zhang Liang said dejectedly.
"Honey, nothing is impossible, don't be nervous, there's always a way!" Wang Lixia comforted her husband instead.
"What can we do? Give him gifts? No way, there's a crackdown on illegal and disorderly conduct right now, would he dare accept gifts?" Zhang Liang said, still looking worried.
"Who told you to show off? If you had let me go to the hospital to take care of my father-in-law a few days earlier, this wouldn't have happened!" Wang Lixia rolled her eyes at him and complained.
"Sigh... Honey, I really regret not listening to you and letting you go to the hospital to take care of Dad, but it's no use saying that now. Let's think of something quickly!" Zhang Liang sighed and said.
"If you knew this would happen, why did you do it in the first place?" Wang Lixia said to him irritably! But she was still thinking of a solution!
"Honey, please stop teasing me! I'm so worried!" Zhang Liang said with a distressed expression.
“There will be a way! Honey, you should rest at home first! Remember, don’t tell your parents about this! So they won’t worry! Okay?” Wang Lixia seemed to have a solution and instructed her husband.
"Yes, I know!" Zhang Liang replied.
"I'm going to work now! You stay home and don't go anywhere. Get some rest! Don't be too pessimistic!" Wang Lixia said as she walked towards the living room door.
"Honey, don't forget to think of a solution!" Zhang Liang reminded his wife as she left. It's clear that this position is extremely important to their family.
Wang Lixia left the living room and went outside the community. Instead of going to work at the train station, she took out her phone from her bag and called her section chief, Liu Tianzhen, to ask for leave. Then she searched for a number on her phone and dialed it.
"Is this Director Ye?" she asked sweetly into the phone after dialing the number.
"It's me, who are you?" Director Ye's voice came from the phone!
"Director Ye, you really have a bad memory! I'm Xiaoxia, Zhang Liang's wife. We even had drinks together before, don't you remember?" Wang Lixia said to him in a very polite and sweet voice!
"Oh... I remember now, you're Xiaoxia!" Director Ye thought for a moment, as if he had suddenly remembered her, and said to her!
"Yes, I am Xiaoxia, Zhang Liang's wife, hehe..." Wang Lixia said to him with a happy giggle when she saw that he remembered who she was!
"Xiaoxia, what can I do for you?" Director Ye asked.
"Director Ye, about my husband..." Before Wang Lixia could finish speaking, the other party said in a very firm tone, "Don't say anything more, there's no room for discussion! If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up!"
"Don't hang up... Director Ye, I still have something to say to you..." Wang Lixia hurriedly said to him when she saw that he was about to hang up!
"Speak, what else do you have to say?" Director Ye's tone was somewhat cold.
"Director Ye, where are you? I want to see you..." Wang Lixia knew that she couldn't explain things to him over the phone, so she wanted to see him in person, pour out her troubles, and hopefully he would feel sorry for her! That's why she asked to see him!
The other person thought for a moment and said, "Okay! I'm in my office, come on over!"
"Thank you, Director Ye, thank you, Director Ye, I'll come see you right away..." Wang Lixia was overjoyed when she saw that the other party had agreed to let her see him!
After hanging up the phone, she hailed a taxi and went to the county tax bureau. After asking around, she finally found the director's office on the second floor.
Standing outside the office door, Wang Lixia was a little nervous. Actually, she had come prepared and had thought it through carefully!
Taking a deep breath and trying to calm himself down, Liang reached out and knocked on the door!
"Come in!" A loud male voice came from inside the door!
Wang Lixia pushed open the office door and walked in! There sat a middle-aged man in his fifties at the desk. He was short and chubby, with an average appearance. His round, chubby face gave the first impression of him being a very cunning fellow!
"Director Ye..." Wang Lixia had met him before, so she quickly greeted him politely!
"Oh, Xiaoxia, you're here! Please have a seat!" As soon as Director Ye saw Wang Lixia enter, he stood up from his office chair and politely greeted her, asking her to sit on the sofa against the west wall.
“谢谢叶局！”王丽霞边来到沙发前坐了下来边客气的说了一句！
叶局这个人平时在人前说话都很客气的，不管与当官的还是他下属，说话总是那麽友善客气，但是他心裡面还是很狡猾的，笑裡藏刀这个词好像就是专门形容他的！只见他离开办公椅，来到沙发前坐在了王丽霞的身边客气的笑著说：“小霞，你好像越来越漂亮了，呵呵……”
“叶局，你说什麽呢？我都是个老太婆了，是越来越老了才对呢！你真会开玩笑！”王丽霞听了嫺熟白嫩的脸上一红，带著羞涩的口气对他说！
“呵呵，是与你开玩笑的，但是你真的很漂亮！说吧，找我什麽事？”叶局笑呵呵的对她说！
“叶局，你看……我老公他……”王丽霞说著就被他打住了：“小霞，打住，打住，别说了，你老公这次犯了这麽大的事，没有一点点的商量馀地的！”叶局忙摇著手说！
“叶局……”王丽霞见他的口气这麽硬郎与坚决，心裡就紧张的呯呯乱跳了起来，嫺熟的脸上露出了哀求无奈的模样，可怜巴巴的看著叶局叫了一声！
“小霞啊，你老公可能把事情对你讲了吧！”见嫺熟漂亮的王丽霞可怜巴巴的样子，叶局的口气也有点软了下来，柔声的对她说！
“嗯，讲了，叶局，我们家裡的情况你又不是不知道，如果我老公被你撤职了，那我家以后怎麽办啊？我还有一个十九的儿子在读书，还有公公婆婆……我……”王丽霞说著就流出了眼泪，啼哭了起来，也是的，万一老公真被撤职了，她想起以后家裡的困境，怎麽不叫她著急担心呢！
“小霞，你别哭啊……这……”叶局见王丽霞著急的流出了眼泪，也被弄得慌了手脚！
“叶局，我知道你人好，也有同情心，你就饶了我老公吧，别撤他的职好不好嘛？”王丽霞见叶局被自己啼哭的样子弄得慌了手脚，就边伸手抓住他的手臂摇著，边带著哀求的口气对他说！
手臂突然被她两隻洁白柔软如无骨的手抓住，叶局忍不住的颤抖了一下，就伸手放在她后背边拍边抚摸著说：“小霞，你别著急嘛，办法不是没有的嘛……”
感觉到叶局的手在自己的后背上边拍边抚摸著，王丽霞浑身忍不住的颤抖了一下，心裡虽然有些害臊，愤怒！但是自己现在有事求他，又听他说是有办法的，就只好装著无所谓的样子，高兴的对他说：“叶局，有什麽办法啊，你快说呀！”
“小霞啊，这要看你了……”叶局边说边把另一隻手搭在了王丽霞隔著黑色裙子的大腿上也轻轻的抚摸了起来！
就算是最笨的人听了他的话，见到他两手抚摸著的样子，也会明白他的意思了，更何况王丽霞是个精明能干的人呢！
其实王丽霞心裡是十分的明白叶局想干什麽？她在来之前就已经想好了，因为她想起上次与叶局吃饭时，他看自己的眼神就说明他是喜欢自己的，所以这次来之前就已经有心理准备了，为了保住老公的职位，她可以牺牲自己的身体，老公的职位对她的整个家庭来说，是非常的重要，要是老公被撤职了，家裡就会有危机了！而自己都四十多岁了，又不是姑娘，都是过来人了，给他一次也没什麽，身上也少不了什麽，那个轻那个重，她心裡还是有数的！但是话又说回来，这也是没有办法的事，不这麽做，老公就会被撤职，家庭就会有危机！
叶局的意思已经很明白了，两隻魔爪都放在她的后背上大腿上抚摸了！此时王丽霞感觉特别的害臊与紧张，忍不住的挣扎了一下身体，红著脸羞涩的对他说：“叶局，你不要这样子嘛？你到底想干什麽嘛？”说著就抬起屁股，把身体往沙发的另一边挪过去！叶局的两隻手随著她身体的挪过去，也离开了她的身体！
“小霞，你是真不懂还是装不懂啊！”叶局见王丽霞好像没有明白他的意思，又避开了他抚摸她后背与大腿上的手，当下脸色一沉，有点不高兴的对她说！
“叶局，我……”虽然王丽霞来之前就有心理准备了，但是到了紧急关头，她还是很羞涩很紧张，也很害怕了起来，见叶局不高兴了，就可怜巴巴的看著他，心裡很矛盾，都不知所措了起来！
“小霞，我明说了吧！要想我不撤你老公的职，你愿意陪我吗？”叶局边说边从沙发上站了起来，回到他的办公椅上坐了下来又对她说：“但是小霞，我不会强迫你做，你自己看著办吧！”
王丽霞听了浑身忍不住的颤抖了一下，虽然这是她意料之中的事，但是真正到了这关头，她还是感到不可思议的，自古以来女人的贞洁也是很重要的！叶局的话就像一块大石头一样压在了她的身上，压得她都喘不过气来了！事情已经很明白了，答应他，老公就不会被撤职，自己也将失身于他！不答应他，老公的职位就会保不住，家庭就会带来危机，那后果就不堪设想了！
“小霞，考虑的怎麽样了？”叶局坐在办公椅上，看著王丽霞点著头在犹豫不决的样子，就慢条斯理的问她！
“叶局……我都人老珠黄了，年轻漂亮的女人多得是，你干嘛非要我陪你呢？”王丽霞抬起头，满脸通红的看著叶局，又羞涩又紧张的问他！
“小霞，我就喜欢像你这样嫺熟漂亮的女人！你到底愿意不愿意，给句痛快话好不好？”其实叶局玩过的女人不计其数，他心裡很明白王丽霞一定会答应他的！还有什麽事比铁饭碗更重要呢？
“好吧，我答应你，但是你也要答应我一个条件！”王丽霞终于狠下心来答应了！
“什麽条件，你说！”见她答应了，叶局的心裡一阵狂喜，急忙问她！
“不许把我们的事告诉我老公，也包括任何一个人！”王丽霞说出了她的条件！
“呵呵，我以为是什麽呢？就这条件啊，不用你说我也不会告诉任何一个人的！你就放心吧！”叶局听了笑呵呵的对她说！
“你拿什麽保证呢？”王丽霞好像不放心似的又问了一句！
“这……”叶局倒被她问住了，想了想对她说：“这麽给你说吧，我如果告诉了你老公，那你老公不会找我拼命啊？所以我不会傻到这个程度的！”
“也是！”王丽霞听了感觉他说的很有道理，就点了点说！但又对他说：“那你万一告诉别人呢？”
“小霞啊，那就更不可能了，我是个局长，万一让别人知道了我玩女人，那上面查下来，说我做风有问题，那我岂不是吃不了兜著走！你还有什麽不放心的呢？要是说不放心，那还是我呢，我还怕你对别人说呢？”叶局又解释给她听！
王丽霞听了想想也对，就红著脸白了他一眼说：“我那能会告诉别人呢？我还没有不要脸到这个程度上！”
“那不就得了！什麽事也没有了吧？”叶局听了高兴的问她！
“嗯！”王丽霞听了红著脸羞涩的低下头应了一声！但是她心裡还是无比的紧张与害臊！想著就要与这个胖乎乎的男人做那种事了！怎麽不叫她紧张害臊呢？
“那……那我们现在就去开房间吧！”此时的叶局也是异常的激动，与自己下属的老婆开房间，是多麽的刺激，就兴奋的对她说！
王丽霞听了浑身忍不住的颤抖了一下，无比羞涩的说了一句：“现……现在就去开房间啊？”
“小霞，难道你不想儘快把你老公的事办了吗？”叶局一双眼睛色迷迷的看著她说！
这句话给了王丽霞很大的勇气，她当然想越快把老公的事给办妥了，就越放心了！就低声对他说了一句：“那……那你看著办吧……”说著，她那嫺熟端庄，白皙漂亮的脸上已经很红了，心裡也紧张的呯呯乱跳了起来！
叶局听了心裡又是一阵狂喜，急忙拿起手机预定了一个房间，然后从办公椅上站了起来，来到王丽霞的面前说：“小霞，那我们现在就走吧！”
王丽霞怀著忐忑不安的心情从沙发上站了起来！又紧张又害羞的低声说了一句：“走吧！”
叶局见她娇羞的模样，心裡就兴奋了起来，伸手在她丰腴的屁股上摸了一把说：“走吧！”
王丽霞的屁股突然被摸了一把，嫺熟的脸上就红了一下！就怀著紧张，害臊的心情跟著叶局走出了办公室……
