Newbie seeking help

I'm a newbie, probably a single guy. I'm new to this and looking for a mentor or friend. I'm not expecting to do anything right away, just hoping to make some friends and have someone teach me something.
I've been trying to reach out to people through various channels lately, but as soon as I say I want to learn something, nobody responds. It's a bit strange.
So I'm hoping someone is willing to be my friend and teach me something.
