How can I convince my conservative wife to engage in swapping?

My wife is very conservative. I once tentatively brought up the topic of sex with her, but she thought it was absurd.
Last year, I encouraged her to try heterosexual sex, but she refused.
Recently, I suggested she find a lover, promising I wouldn't mind, which made her cry!
What can I do? Can anyone offer some advice?
