A 19-year-old British woman accused 12 Israeli men of gang-raping her

while traveling in Cyprus, but the truth has been reversed. Five of the initially arrested men were released, but the case has taken a turn when the woman changed her story and withdrew her charges, claiming she filed the charges because she was filmed. Police have also dropped the sexual assault charges.

Police have not released the woman's name. She initially accused 12 men of gang-raping her, but after the arrests, she changed her story, claiming she had consensual sex with three of them, but was secretly filmed. She filed the charges because she was angry about the leaked video, and maintains that she is still a victim in the incident.

One of the released men, Yisrael David, insisted in an interview with Israeli television that the woman consensually engaged in multiple sexual encounters with him and two other men at a wild party. He also mentioned that in the sex video used as evidence, the woman did not struggle or show any signs of pain, nor did she cry for help. "You can see in the video that the door was opened at one point, but she didn't run away or scream. Instead, she said, 'Close the door.' A person who has been sexually assaulted wouldn't react like that."

David said that many people went in and out of the room at the time, but they didn't do anything else; they just watched them "play." After the party, he fell asleep in the room, and then the police broke in, slapped him, and arrested him. When he got to the police station, he saw his friends there, all of whom were charged with sexual assault. Fortunately, the case was later reversed, and he was released and went home. However, he also admitted that filming was wrong and that he had learned his lesson. "We should protect her dignity."

Now, the woman may face charges of public hoax for lying. If convicted, she could be imprisoned in Cyprus for up to a year. The police are still investigating, and the woman has been ordered by the judge to be detained for eight days. The woman's lawyer, Andreas Pittadjis, stated that filming and distributing sex tapes is a more serious crime than pranks or lying, demanding a thorough investigation into who was responsible. He said, "Distributing the video should result in a sentence of more than a year. There must be an investigation, whether in Cyprus or Israel."

The Daily Mail reported that an Israeli source indicated the sex tape circulated widely through messaging apps like WhatsApp and was also uploaded to pornographic websites. In the video, several men say "You are my prostitute," to which the woman asks in English what it means, to which the men reply that it means "You are sexy."
