Men are on the verge of extinction

The idea that men will become extinct in five million years isn't some fairy tale curse, but rather a view expressed in a public speech by Jennifer Graves, a professor at the University of Canberra, Australia. Her reasoning is that three million years ago, the male Y chromosome had approximately 1400 genes, but now only 45 remain. If the Y chromosome continues to lose genes at this rate, it will lose all its genes in about five million years.
