Chapter Twenty-Five
: "How long are you going to stay in Shanghai?"

"We plan to explore Shanghai and the surrounding area in a week. Today is the third day. We're planning to watch Disneyland, see the fireworks display tonight, and then stay here for the night. Tomorrow we'll go to the city center."

"Where are you staying tonight?"

"The Toy Story Hotel next door. You're locals, so are you going back after the parade this afternoon?"

My wife smiled and pulled Sun Xiaoyan aside, saying, "Alright, Xiaoyan, let's go check out our room after the parade. It'll be good for you to experience it."

Sun Xiaoyan, being the temperamental child she is, changed her expression faster than flipping through a book. She immediately nodded vigorously, her face beaming. I shrugged at Ren Qi, who wore a wry smile, offering a man's sympathy.

Led by my wife, we began our afternoon's itinerary. The itinerary was well-planned, avoiding unnecessary detours, and we smoothly completed three or four attractions. The two of them exclaimed that our efficiency was far superior to theirs, and knowing us was like saving them a tour guide fee.

After watching the parade, it was already four in the afternoon. Although there were still many attractions to see, we had to leave them for later, as the sweltering heat was quite taxing.

Sun Xiaoyan was determined to experience the castle-like amusement park hotel, so we left the park, took a boat to the hotel across the artificial lake, checked in, and the four of us went into our room. As soon as I stepped inside, I stopped. My wife turned around, puzzled, and asked, "What's wrong?"

I deliberately sniffed, "There's a familiar smell, can you smell it?" I pointed to the two people walking ahead of us.

My wife paused for a moment before realizing what I meant, then playfully punched me.

"Wow, this lights up! Fireworks! Wow, there's even a little bed! Wow, so beautiful! Wow, you can see the castle from the window!"

Sun Xiaoyan exclaimed in a series of exclamations, truly like a cute little girl.

"This room can watch fireworks?" I flipped through the instructions on the table.

It turned out that besides directly seeing the fireworks over the castle, you could also tune into a special TV channel to hear the live sound, as if you were there yourself. This, of course, elicited another exclamation from Sun Xiaoyan.

However, after discussing it, we decided to go to Disney Town after 6 PM, have dinner, and then watch the fireworks show from outside the park, since it's closer.

Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. We waited until almost 8 PM after dinner, but it started raining. Summer rain comes quickly and then lingers, leaving a sticky residue that was very uncomfortable. We decided to go back to the hotel to avoid the rain. The security guard at the hotel's back door was very dedicated. Seeing that we only had one room key, he said he could only let two people in. We pleaded and the two girls practically used their charms to get us in. As soon as we entered the hotel, the rain intensified. We were glad we made the decision, but we waited anxiously to see if the fireworks would start.

Bored while waiting in the room, we chatted casually to pass the time.

Sun Xiaoyan was still agonizing over not being able to stay here, sighing, "Sigh, if only I could stay here today."

Ren Qi remained silent, pretending to be clueless. I found her pouting face really funny, so I couldn't resist teasing her, "Okay, how about my sister and I give you our room? We can stay in your Toy Story room, and you can just make up the difference."

My tone was deep, and my speech was slow, so everyone listened carefully to every word.

After a long silence,

Sun Xiaoyan said, "Ren Qi."

"What?"

"Do you think our relationship can withstand the test?"

"What do you mean?"

"If I really spend the night with my brother, and you spend the night with my sister, and tomorrow we go our separate ways and never see each other again, do you think our relationship will remain the same?"
