Chapter Thirty-Three:
My wife, though slender, still has a certain figure, and she's certainly not stingy with her curves in the right places, so carrying her for a long distance, weighing just over 100 pounds, left me breathless.

Once in the room, I tossed her onto the bed. She gasped at first, then giggled like a hen that had just laid an egg.

"Hey, were you having a hard time listening to that? Want to…" My wife reclined on the bed in a seductive pose, biting her lip, her eyes practically overflowing with desire.

"No," I stopped her, "We have to get up early tomorrow. Don't you know what time it is? I'll deal with you when we get on the ship tomorrow. Go to sleep."

"No, no, no, I'm not going. You should go, otherwise it won't be convenient for Jialing and her daughter."

"But I'm worried about you like this."

"I think she just caught a cold. She should be fine after a rest. If it gets too bad, I'll go find the ship's doctor."

I called the team leader and explained my wife's situation. Normally, tourists can't just give up going ashore, as it involves financial interests. As someone in the industry, I understand the ins and outs, but my wife's condition was a fact, and my team leader knew my identity, so he readily agreed.

Even at the last minute, I insisted on staying with my wife, but she was adamant that I go with Jialing and her daughter. In the end, I gave in, and after giving her many instructions, I went alone to the meeting area to meet up with Jialing and her daughter.

"Where's Xinyue?" Jialing was surprised to see me alone.

After a simple border check, we stepped onto Japanese soil. Kumamoto is a prefecture, not particularly prosperous, but its authentic Japanese charm was still very appealing. The so-called "landing itinerary" was actually quite simple: sightseeing and shopping. The so-called sightseeing was just free streets and parks.

After about half an hour's drive, we arrived at our first sightseeing spot, which basically involved using the restroom and then casually looking around and buying some things. It turned out the older man's name was Mizukane.

"Who knows? He was just here a moment ago, and in the blink of an eye he's vanished. I bet he's gone back to smoking. Two or three packs a day, how could that not kill him?" From the woman's words, one could tell the old man's status in the family.

The woman who was speaking to her looked around and lowered her voice to say to A-Juan, "You know, your Shui-Gen has been hanging out with a woman at the casino these past few nights."

A-Juan scoffed heavily, "Him? That bottomless coffin, I'd pay any woman to have him, I'd throw her a farewell party!"

"Hey, don't be so sure. I saw her. That woman is very pretty, red dress, big waves in her hair, she walks with a swaying gamble. Your Shui-Gen sat with her for over an hour."

"Pshaw, that woman's either blind or something. Even if a man like that were a lapdog following her around, she wouldn't give him a bone. A bottomless coffin who dreams of getting rich through gambling, he's dreaming big."

I chuckled. I don't know if he got rich or not, but my wife got rich with him. She even paid for her tuition.

"Alright, alright, stop talking. He's coming." The woman pointed to Shui-Gen, who was slowly walking back in the distance.

"Hmph, where have you been? Hurry up and come here! The tour guide has already taken attendance, and you're the only one missing. Why can't you give me a break?" Juan berated him relentlessly.

"I'm just going to have a smoke, stop nagging," Shui Gen weakly retorted in a voice eight octaves lower.

"Smoke, smoke, smoke, how can it not kill you?"

Shui Gen lowered his head, cautiously glancing at his wife, whose aura and physique were beyond his control. Her dejected appearance even evoked pity, a stark contrast to the spirited old Kohler he had seen at the casino.

"You know her?" Xi Jialing asked, noticing my constant attention in that direction.

"No, I just find her quite interesting," I laughed.

"Don't worry, your Xinyue won't treat you like that in the future."

"Yeah, our Xinyue is such a gentle and obedient girl, haha."

As I spoke, I shifted my gaze away from the pitiful Uncle Shuigen, because I saw that striking blonde girl again. She and her companion were each carrying a huge string of fish-shaped bamboo canes, munching on them as they walked. At this point, I was 99% certain that neither of their male companions had disembarked. That inexplicable anxiety deep inside me returned, and my brows furrowed involuntarily.

"Hey, stop looking. That kind of girl isn't suitable for you." My distraction finally caught Xi Jialing's attention.

"Oh? Why isn't she suitable?" To conceal my true purpose, I simply went along with her topic.

“You said yourself that your Xinyue is a good girl. Those two girls don’t seem as well-behaved as Xinyue, so I advise you not to even think about it.”

“That’s not necessarily true. I already have a wife, and I’m not planning to change, but the more the merrier, you know?” I said, raising an eyebrow at her.

Xi Jialing suppressed a laugh and gave me a big eye roll.

“Uncle Lu.”

Xia Siqi’s cute voice startled me. I glanced at her mother guiltily.

“What’s wrong, Qiqi?” I asked, putting on a good uncle’s face.

“What are we having for lunch? I’m a little hungry.” Xia Siqi looked at me curiously.

“You silly child, I told you to eat more breakfast, but you wouldn’t listen. I didn’t bring any food.” Xi Jialing said reproachfully.

“Haha, you really came to the right place to ask Uncle Lu.” I pulled out a plastic bag from behind my back like a magician.

“Huh? What did you buy?” Xi Jialing asked curiously as well.

“Of course we had to visit their national convenience stores when we got to Japan.”

I opened the 7-Eleven plastic bag and showed them my spoils: a large carton of milk, three bottles of drinks (including Japanese-style tea and Calpis), and six or seven different kinds of rice balls.

The little girl’s eyes lit up, but being well-mannered, she looked to her mother for permission before reaching for her favorite things. Seeing Xi Jialing nod slightly, she happily grabbed a drink and two rice balls.

“Why did you think of buying food?” Xi Jialing asked.

“It’s a professional habit, I guess. I don’t know when I’ll arrive, so I had to have some food ready. Besides, Xin Yue made me so tired this morning that I didn’t have breakfast.”

“Then you should eat it yourself. Why give her so much?”

“It’s okay, I bought extra anyway. Here, have one too.”
