My wife was first raped when she was 13 by an old gatekeeper. To avoid negative publicity, the police publicly stated it was attempted rape. The second time was when she was in the county's cultural troupe, singing and hosting. One evening, after a rural performance, several thugs, under the pretext of looking for someone, forcibly dragged her into a van and raped her. Those thugs were later sentenced, though I don't know why they received relatively light sentences. The third time was when she was a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding. A group of wedding pranksters forced her into a room and raped her; the host and the family paid to settle the matter. Two years ago, my wife and some friends went to karaoke after drinking. In the private room, five friends, claiming they were drunk, raped them. Only one of the men was a few years older than my wife; the rest were much younger. Later, they all chipped in to settle the matter and didn't pursue the matter further.
