Actually, "squirting" is a very general term and should be divided into two categories: vaginal discharge (or ejaculation). During intercourse, in addition to continuous vaginal lubrication, some women may also ejaculate urine from the urethra (vaginal discharge) or ejaculate vaginal fluid (ejaculation) during orgasm or when subjected to strong stimulation. Most people don't notice these two different fluids during female orgasm, or have only encountered one and assume that any sudden spurting of fluid is squirting.
Vaginal discharge and ejaculation are two completely different situations: Vaginal discharge is the expulsion of urine from the urethra (slightly yellow in color, with a urine-like odor, and originating from the urethra; although I haven't had it tested in a lab, I firmly believe it is urine), which can be seen in Japanese adult films or my self-recorded video later; ejaculation is the expulsion of vaginal fluid (white or colorless, virtually odorless, I don't know the scientific name, but I'll use the terminology from classical literature for now) under the stimulation of special techniques or penetration. This is less common, but appears in some Japanese and Western adult films, or you can see my practical video later.
Both masturbation and ejaculation require the woman to possess certain innate qualities, emotional state, and the man's skill level. First, the woman must possess the innate qualities necessary for masturbation or ejaculation; this is difficult to predict and can only be determined through experience. Emotional state means the woman must be open and relaxed, not afraid in the moment before orgasm, and at least not strongly suppressing that unprecedented feeling. Only with these two conditions and adequate stimulation can masturbation or ejaculation occur; otherwise, even intense stimulation won't result in orgasm.
Compared to ejaculation, masturbation is more common and has lower requirements for both the woman and man. Some women can only masturbate, some can only ejaculate, and some can do both. They can alternate or even perform both simultaneously.
