Six realms of life: tolerance, giving up, and contentment.

From the moment we cry to the moment we fall to our roots, each person's life is finite. However, within this finite life, each person lives their own life story, some brilliant, some ordinary. In short, life is a state of mind, a joy. Those who understand life live freely and easily, while those who are pessimistic and world-weary become haggard. The Chinese writer Lu Xun could depict the "grassland" as a "paradise," vividly portraying a herb garden as a magical world full of life, with the grass and insects lifelike, adding immeasurable joy to his childhood. How one approaches life depends on one's mindset. Worrying excessively or acting like Daiyu burying flowers will only lead one astray into a dead end, distorting the joy of life. Being
a person is like doing things; one must be meticulous, know what is important and what is trivial, and see things through to the end. Those who are truly wise but appear foolish have clear minds, are filled with virtuous teachings, act diligently, and are self-aware. They understand tolerance and forbearance, they understand giving and receiving, they understand contentment and satisfaction.
Understanding tolerance and forbearance allows you to have a broad mind; conversely, lacking them leads to impulsiveness and narrow-mindedness. The root of all things lies in qi (vital energy). When qi rises to the head, a person becomes enraged and acts impulsively and recklessly. At that moment, you have no time to consider anything around you; anger leads to action, and action leads to evil. Some unpleasant things often happen in a split second. If you can calm yourself down and sort out your thoughts, or take a step back and seek a compromise, then many things are not problems at all, or there are no insurmountable obstacles. Han Xin could endure the humiliation of crawling between someone's legs; how many people in the world can be as sharp and outspoken as him? Ultimately, qi originates from the dantian (lower abdomen), and you must calm your own qi. At the right time, knowing how to be tolerant and patient may reveal a life of tranquility and happiness.
Understanding how to give and receive allows you to gain more; conversely, you will lose. As the saying goes, there is always a trade-off between gain and loss. Endless absorption will only lead to depletion; of course, what is lost is also the most precious. Just as nature provides humanity with the wellspring of life, humanity recklessly destroys the ecological environment, failing to cherish it and unable to relinquish its desires for power and wealth. As a result, sewage flows freely, the environment deteriorates, nature weeps, while humanity revels. If we were willing to relinquish our desires, nature would grant us more enjoyment, but those blinded by greed are often oblivious to this. Ultimately, humanity's last tear is its last drop of water for survival.
Knowing contentment leads to a happy and peaceful life; conversely, lacking contentment leads to insatiable greed. Often, humanity's pursuit of fame and fortune trumps everything else—this is human nature, after all. Confucian philosophy in China, largely focused on interpersonal relationships, has profound implications. The tragedy of humanity lies in its being influenced by its social environment and gradually shaping its social personality. Therefore, the saying "Among three people walking together, there must be one who can teach me" is deeply insightful. Having close friends fosters a positive and progressive mindset; conversely, associating with those of questionable character will likely only lead to moral decay. Knowing contentment brings peace and tranquility, free from arrogance and extravagance. Greed, on the other hand, not only breeds resentment but also invites self-inflicted suffering. As the saying goes, contentment brings happiness.
Life is ordinary, yet truth is found within its ordinariness. Life is also a state of mind, but each person's perception and cultivation of their spirit within this state differs, leading to clashes of wisdom and folly. Facing life requires the beauty of thought, the refinement of wisdom, and the beauty of perspective. Regardless of societal changes, the moral beauty nurtured by millennia of culture remains constant. Loving life, finding joy in it, understanding tolerance, letting go, and contentment—becoming a refined and wise person is the continuation of your life's journey.
