Extramarital affairs and sex are like a series of journeys.

My morning nap was shattered by this sentence. So I got up.
I opened the document, only to find the sentence utterly mundane.
Before me lay vast, open grasslands, tranquil, secluded valleys with clear springs, calm lakes shrouded in mist, azure seas with rolling waves lapping at my feet, a sky ablaze with vibrant colors, a wisp of fresh rainbow on the horizon, a boundless wilderness where stars seem within reach, a sea of orange, fish-scale-like desert… Those who are at home, those burdened by work, seeing such things would surely feel refreshed and linger for a moment.
So, thinking about extramarital affairs and sex, I personally feel this is perhaps true.
The fantastical passion is gone; life rarely offers much room for vibrant imagination. Meeting someone, experiencing someone, is like reading a book, but it's more like traveling to a unique place, appreciating scenery others haven't seen.
Life is so fleeting; no matter how hard one tries, it's only a few decades long, its content just a few simple strokes. The more places one travels, the more feelings one accumulates in their heart. It's like sitting together in old age, flipping through old photos, passing them from left to right, picking them up, then scattering them at the ground, smiling as they pick them up, a look of contentment and peace on their faces.
Often, we see men boasting about their extramarital affairs or sex, attracting envy from others, or secretly hiding them, feeling a bit wistful when they reach the pinnacle of success… We've never seen a woman flaunt her "journeys" within a steadfast marriage, nor do we see anyone eagerly envying or understanding her; instead, we see the woman who loves to see the scenery as a flaw in a story, a faded flower in a landscape, often met with ridicule and blame.
In truth, a long journey, a few scenes, are seen by both men and women.
These journeys of extramarital affairs always have a beginning and an end. Very few people would travel their entire lives without ever settling down, very few would be willing to rebuild their daily lives in a remote, untouched place, and very few could endure the loneliness of a long journey… After all, a married person is like a tree with roots, a tree with geographical limitations; they can't thrive just by being transplanted, and not every place offers the sunshine and rain suitable for their growth.
Therefore, occasionally traveling, remembering the way home, and giving memories a sense of security, is a good thing.
If, if, one could travel hand in hand with their spouse, that would be even better, as I have said and done.
