I came across something today. In psychology, there's a concept called "stimulus craving," which refers to people's desire for physical intimacy. A lack of physical intimacy can lead to the degeneration of nerve cells and even mental illness. The psychological and social aspect of stimulation craving is essentially the desire for approval. Being cuckolded might stem from a need for others to approve of one's wife, or from offering one's wife to gain approval from others. Approval has a survival-level significance.
