Men are attracted to beautiful women, always turning back for a second glance or even staring intently, otherwise they feel like they're missing out.
Women, too, are attracted to beautiful things, even if they buy them for no practical use, simply because they're pretty.
My wife has bought many beautiful clothes, sparing no expense.
I never imagined I'd be attracted to pretty things too.
Today I bought something pretty—corn porridge.
I first saw it at the pedestrian street intersection across from the Friendship Shopping Mall, served in a large pot, with two vibrant young girls coming over to buy a bowl. I glanced at it curiously; the golden corn porridge was steaming and swirling in the pot, each kernel like a golden pearl, its sweet aroma subtle yet enticing, tantalizing my taste buds. From then
on, I remembered that taste, that beauty, and couldn't forget it. Today, I finally fulfilled my wish. I bought some and took a big sip as soon as I got home.
Turns out, pretty doesn't necessarily mean delicious. Probably to make it cook faster, a lot of alkali was added, leaving a bitter taste, with absolutely no sweetness from the corn. He abandoned his chopsticks and fled before finishing even a small portion of his meal.
