Serving in the army is every man's duty. This is a phrase that Ah Sheng often heard people say. He drew a lot last year, and he never thought that time would pass so quickly. In the blink of an eye, it was time to serve his country. Ah Sheng boarded the train with a group of equally smart and handsome men. The train lurched and swayed all the way to the recruit center. He heard that there was no leave for new recruits, so Ah Sheng endured it. And so, he took his first step into becoming a man.
From being unaccustomed to being somewhat accustomed to it, from being meticulous to taking it easy, Ah Sheng gradually adapted to some of the daily routines. He endured one day after another, and finally, the long week came to an end. That was the most anticipated day, although it wasn't a holiday, it was a day when they could meet.
Early in the morning, after cleaning and tidying up, many people in the bathroom excitedly scrambled to see photos of their roommates' girlfriends, passing them around to compare whose girlfriend was prettier and whose sister was more beautiful.
