[Fantasy] Sun Wukong's Seven-Day Holiday (Complete) - 25-27

Chapter 218 Heaven and Earth After

leaving the Thunderclap Temple, Tang Sanzang asked, "Wukong, the journey from the East to here is long. It took us fourteen years to travel from the East. I wonder how long it will take to return this time? I haven't been exercising much, and my legs are a little sore and weak. Little White, why don't you transform into a fine horse and let me ride on it?"

"Master, you've already attained enlightenment and become a Buddha. You don't need to suffer the hardships of travel anymore. Enjoy the pleasure of flying! The feeling of traveling a thousand miles in a second is truly exhilarating. I guarantee you'll never forget it after you try it." Wukong secretly recited the incantation, and a five-colored auspicious cloud floated down.

"Wow, so beautiful! Master, I'll go first!" Sha Wujing, carrying the heavy load, was the first to step onto the auspicious cloud. "How

rude! Brother Sha Wujing, Master hasn't even gone up yet, what are you arguing about?" Wukong laughed and scolded. Looking at the auspicious five-colored cloud, Tang Sanzang felt uneasy and cautiously asked, "Wukong, shall we ride this cloud to the Eastern Land?"

"Yes, is there anything wrong with it?" Wukong asked.

"There's not even a handrail on top. Wouldn't it be easy to fall off? Wukong, I'd

rather ride a horse; it'll make me feel safer. Xiaobai, quickly transform into a horse and carry me to the Eastern Land," Tang Sanzang instructed.

"Ride a horse? My goodness, how much time will that waste? Listen to me, Master, quickly step onto the cloud, close your eyes, and imagine this auspicious five-colored cloud as a gentle horse. You won't be afraid then. In the blink of an eye, we'll be in the Eastern Land," Wukong patiently persuaded.

"But...but...I'm scared. Wukong, I've had a fear of heights since I was little. Standing in even a slightly high place makes my limbs weak and my body covered in cold sweat, let alone flying in mid-air," Tang Sanzang stammered. Wukong grabbed Tang Sanzang's arm and said, "What are you afraid of? I'm here! Master, don't be so coy like a little wife. Show some manly courage, okay?"

Tang Sanzang was dragged by Wukong into the auspicious five-colored cloud. The Eight Heavenly Dragon Horses hesitated to enter from outside. Sha Wujing asked him, "Little White, why don't you come in? Are you as afraid to come in as your master?" The White Dragon Horse smiled and said, "I am a flying dragon. Flying in the sky is my forte. You go first, I'll follow behind." With that,

it transformed , and a white dragon soared into the sky, circling around Tang Sanzang and the others.

"What a magnificent white dragon!" Wukong exclaimed. Seeing Tang Sanzang trembling slightly, Wukong asked, "Master, can we set off now?"

"Let's set off. But don't go too fast, I'm still a little uneasy," Tang Sanzang said, suppressing his inner fear.

"Alright, let's go, horse! Don't worry, I'll try to keep it slow." Wukong waved his hand, and the auspicious five-colored cloud rose steadily without any jolt. To protect Tang Sanzang, Wukong slowed the pace as much as possible. Otherwise, if Tang Sanzang accidentally fell off the cloud, even though he was practically immortal and wouldn't die from the fall, he would definitely get a good scolding, and Wukong didn't want to take that risk. Tang Sanzang closed his eyes tightly, only hearing the whistling wind in his ears, his body seemingly still motionless. Peeking out, he saw that he was already suspended high in the air, the mountains and rivers below reduced to tiny black dots. Cold sweat poured down Tang Sanzang's back.

"Oh dear, you scared me to death!" Tang Sanzang exclaimed. "If I fall, I'll be smashed into a

pulp! Wukong, stop quickly, I need to get down."

"Master, there's a vast ocean below! If we stop, we'll all drown! Are you really going to stop?" Wukong said with a grin.

"Wukong, you've really gotten me into trouble this time! Alas," Tang Sanzang sighed sadly. Wukong smiled and said, "Master, if you're really scared, why don't you sit cross-legged and practice some Buddhist teachings?"

These words were like a wake-up call. Tang Sanzang sat cross-legged and silently recited the Heart Sutra: "Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva

, practicing the profound Prajnaparamita, constantly illuminates the five aggregates as empty, thus transcending all suffering. Shariputra, form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form; form is emptiness, emptiness is form. Sensation, perception, volition, and consciousness are also like this. Shariputra, all dharmas are empty in nature, neither arising nor ceasing, neither defiled nor pure, neither increasing nor decreasing." Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, no sensation, no perception, no volition, no consciousness; no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind; no form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or dharma; no eye-consciousness, and so forth, up to no mind-consciousness; no ignorance, and no end of ignorance; and so forth, up to no old age and death, and no end of old age and death. There is no suffering, no extinction

, no path; no wisdom, and no attainment. Because there is nothing to be attained, Bodhisattvas, relying on Prajnaparamita, have no hindrance in their minds; because there is no hindrance, they have no fear; they are far removed from distorted views and dreams, and ultimately attain Nirvana. All Buddhas of the three times, relying on Prajnaparamita, attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi. Therefore, know that Prajnaparamita is the great divine mantra, the great bright mantra, the supreme mantra, the unequaled mantra, capable of removing all suffering, truly and without falsehood. Therefore, the Prajnaparamita Mantra is recited, namely: "Gate, Gate! Paragate, Parasamgate! Bodhi Svaha!"

Reciting the Heart Sutra of the Great Prajnaparamita, one feels a clear mind and a comfortable body, and the whistling wind in one's ears is completely gone.

Sha Wujing and the Eight Heavenly Dragons Horse, however, are full of interest, looking at the world below, which is indistinct and blurry. Although they cannot see clearly, they are full of anticipation. After many years in the mortal world, what has this bustling world become?

A huge silver bird flies quickly past them, leaving a trail of white mist behind its tail.

"Brother, look, a silver-white bird! Wow, it flies so fast, it disappears in the blink of an eye!" Sha Wujing exclaimed in surprise, his eyes wide.

"Brother Sha Wujing, that's not a bird, it's an airplane, an aerial transportation tool made by mortals." "Wukong said with a smile.

"Oh, it's been so many years since I've come down here. The mortal world has changed so much. Mortals can even go to heaven

now. It's truly amazing." Sha Wujing exclaimed sincerely. Wukong laughed and said, "That's not even the most amazing thing. The Apollo spacecraft from the United States can already send people to the moon. Before long, the fairy Chang'e won't feel lonely anymore!"

Chapter 219

In the next life, he becomes another complete person.

Because this part of his soul carries his longing for love in the mortal world, no matter who he is reincarnated as, he is full of longing for the mortal world and desire for love. This is consistent with the happiness that Li Shimin has always pursued.

Situ Yangguang opened his eyes and prayed to the sky with his hands clasped together. Faintly, a ray of light appeared in the sky, getting closer and closer, heading straight for Situ Yangguang's mountain. Situ Yangguang was overjoyed, thinking it was a divine manifestation. He hurriedly prostrated himself on the ground and worshipped. He murmured, "The gods have manifested. Please accept Li Shimin's bow." Looking up ,

he saw three figures of different appearances standing before him. One, with a square face, large eyes, and long ears reaching his shoulders, was smiling at him. He wore a gilded robe and held a staff, clearly a highly respected monk. Situ Yangguang's eyes lit up, a flash of white light appearing in his mind. Beside him, a burly man with a gloomy expression carried a huge load of luggage on his shoulder; another had a pointed snout and a face covered in fine hair. Behind him, a white dragon with bared teeth and claws coiled, startling Situ Yangguang.

"Little White, we've reached

our destination , aren't you going to change back into human form? Aren't you afraid of frightening people?" the square-faced, large-eyed monk said in a deep voice.

"Okay, I'll change back into human form right away." The white dragon transformed, and a handsome man dressed in pure white clothes stood before Situ Yangguang.

"That's more like it, haha, Little White, you should have transformed sooner. Look how terrified they are!" Wukong said with a laugh.

"It's not necessarily because they were frightened by me, is it?" " Maybe he was frightened by your appearance, Senior Brother!" said the White Dragon.

"How could that be? Although I'm not exactly handsome, I'm not bad looking either, right, little brother?" asked Situ Yangguang, who was staring blankly at Tang Sanzang.

Situ Yangguang seemed not to hear Wukong's question, staring intently at Tang Sanzang. Wukong, greatly dismayed, said, "Master, your pretty-boy looks certainly have their advantages; even this little brother is infatuated with you!"

"Royal Brother? You're my Royal Brother Tang Sanzang?" Situ Yangguang asked softly.

"You are...?" Tang Sanzang looked at Situ Yangguang, feeling a sense of déjà vu.

"I am Li Shimin! Royal Brother

, have you forgotten me?" Situ Yangguang asked. Tang Sanzang was startled. Before coming, Wukong had told him that Li Shimin had been reincarnated as a one-year-old boy. How could this young man claim to be Li Shimin? Could he be an imposter? But upon closer inspection, he could vaguely see the shadow of Emperor Taizong of Tang, so it seemed there was no mistake.

"Wukong, didn't you say my imperial brother was only one year old? How did this young man become my imperial brother?" Tang Sanzang turned and asked Wukong in confusion.

"Oh dear, I'm a bit confused too. Young man, what's going on? Impersonating the Emperor is punishable by death!" Wukong said, scratching his head in bewilderment.

"That's right, I recognize you all. You are Sun Wukong, my Imperial Brother's eldest disciple. This is Sha Wujing, and that one should be the Imperial Brother's mount, the White Dragon Horse. I hosted a banquet for you in Chang'an after your journey to the West, so I remember you well." Situ Yangguang pointed them out one by one.

"But weren't you only one year old?" Wukong asked, puzzled.

"When you first met me, I was indeed only one year old, but since you promised to invite the Imperial Brother, it's been almost

a year. Half a year ago, I was suddenly summoned by the gods and quietly left the Situ family to cultivate in this mountain. I never expected to grow up like this in just half a year. I don't understand what happened either." Situ Yangguang recounted his extraordinary experiences over the past six months.

Only then did Tang Sanzang believe that the young man before him was indeed his beloved elder brother, Emperor Taizong of Tang. Overwhelmed with mixed emotions of sorrow and joy, he cried out, "Your Majesty, I have missed you so much!" A thousand words welled up in his heart, yet he could not express them. He hunched over, about to kneel.

Situ Yangguang quickly helped him up, saying happily, "Royal Brother, no need for formalities! No need for formalities!" The two looked at each other with tearful eyes, filled with countless emotions.

Chapter 220: Strange Tree and Exotic Fruit

. Situ Yangguang and Tang Sanzang poured out their hearts to each other, a thousand words accumulating in their hearts—there were simply too many things to say, too many feelings to express. Looking at the ragged Situ Yangguang, Tang Sanzang was overwhelmed with emotion. Wiping away his tears, he said, "Brother Emperor, it's truly heartbreaking for you. A dignified emperor, reduced to such a state, without even a complete set of clothes. The autumn winds are blowing, the weather is getting colder, how can you be dressed so thinly? It pains me to see you like this. Luckily, I brought quite a few clothes with me; pick out a few to wear." He then instructed Sha Wujing, "Sha Wujing, come here and put down the luggage."

Sha Wujing had been carrying the heavy luggage all the way and was feeling a bit tired, but without his master's permission, he dared not put it down. Hearing Tang Sanzang's call, he hurriedly stepped forward and put down the load in front of Tang Sanzang, saying, "Master, what do you need?"

"Find out the bundle containing the clothes and give my brother a few pieces to wear," Tang Sanzang instructed.

"Yes, disciple obeys." Sha Wujing untied the large bundle containing the clothes, revealing brand-new cassocks. He asked, "Which one do you want?"

"

The beige one, please." Tang Sanzang took it, presenting it to Situ Yangguang with both hands, saying, "Brother, these are all the robes monks wear in my bundle. Please make do with them, I hope you won't find them unpleasant."

The cassock fit Situ Yangguang perfectly, as if it had been made just for him.

"How is it? Not bad, right?" Situ Yangguang asked.

"Very good, truly excellent! Brother, wearing this robe, you look dashing and ethereal, with a natural air of otherworldly grace," Tang Sanzang praised. "

Really? I really have that air of otherworldly grace?" Situ Yangguang exclaimed in surprise.

"It's true! You look much better in this robe than I do. Honestly, you'd be perfect as a monk. Just shave off those three inches of hair on your head, and you'd be a handsome little monk!" Sha Wujing couldn't help but praise him as well.

"Sha Wujing, don't be rude! My brother was once a king of a nation, how could he act like a monk?" Tang Sanzang scolded.

"He does look like one, I'm just being blunt," Sha Wujing muttered under his breath.

Wukong, however, had no patience for their rambling. He carefully examined the mountain, which was: towering cliffs, vast and reaching the heavens. Its roots were deep in the earth, its peaks piercing the sky. Thousands of miscellaneous trees lined both sides, and vines entwined for over a hundred miles. Flowers reflected in the grass, casting shadows in the wind; water flowed through the clouds, the moon seemed to have no roots. Fallen logs stretched across the deep ravines, withered vines clung to the gleaming peaks. Beneath the stone bridge, a clear spring flowed; on the platform, a bright white powder shone. From afar, it resembled the paradise of the Three Islands; up close, it was like the Penglai Scenic Spot. Fragrant pines and purple bamboos encircled the mountain streams, crows, magpies, and deer roamed the steep ridges. In the wilderness, animals moved in and out in groups; in the forest, birds flew in and out in flocks. Green herbs flourish, wildflowers bloom in vibrant colors. A misty haze hangs in the air, pines and cypresses stand tall and majestic. The misty haze fills the doorway, the pines and cypresses stand tall and verdant around the house. A bridge spans withered branches, ivy entwines the mountain peaks. Birds carry red stamens down to the cloud-shrouded valleys, deer tread on fragrant thickets on stone platforms. Flowers bloom urging each other to open before the door, the wind carrying their fragrance. Green willows along the embankment turn to yellow orioles, peach blossoms by the bank flutter like pink butterflies. Though the wilderness is nothing to boast of, it rivals the scenery at the foot of Penglai Mountain.

"Beautiful mountain! Beautiful mountain! Truly possessing the aura of immortals," Wukong exclaimed, turning to Situ Yangguang and asking, "Your extraordinary encounter must be thanks to this immortal mountain. Tell me, what have you been eating for the past six months?"

"For the past six months, I've been eating fruit from a single tree. Strangely enough, the fruit on this tree isn't large, only about the size of an orange, but after eating it, I'm not hungry for at least ten days," Situ Yangguang said happily.

"Such a wondrous fruit? Take me to see it," Wukong asked, greatly intrigued.

"Alright, everyone, please follow me." Situ Yangguang said, leading everyone into the woods. Arriving at a tree, Situ Yangguang said, "Look, this is the tree." Wukong looked closely and indeed it was a strange tree. The trunk was so large that one person could barely encircle it, its crown like a canopy, while the trunk itself was a tangled mess of roots, winding and twisting. Wukong opened his fiery eyes and saw more than a dozen bright red oranges scattered on the branches.

Wukong's mouth watered. He leaped up a branch, picked an orange, and said with a grin, "Master, you must be hungry, right? How about trying this fruit?"

Tang Sanzang took it, examined it for a moment, and said, "Wukong, this orange doesn't seem like an ordinary orange. Its color is like a ball of fire; it looks a bit strange. I never eat food of unknown origin

, so I'd better not eat it. You can take it back." He then handed the orange to Wukong. Wukong took the orange, laughing, and said, "Master, that's just your personality, always afraid of this and that. What delicious food in the world is there for you to enjoy? Fine, if you won't eat it, I will!" Saying this, he peeled the orange, revealing pink, translucent, and juicy flesh. Wukong opened his mouth wide and put the orange in.

A refreshing fragrance immediately filled his mouth. Before he could savor it, the orange flesh gurgled down his throat and into his stomach.

"So fragrant! So refreshing!" Wukong exclaimed. Although the orange flesh was already in his stomach, the lingering fragrance still made him want to savor it. "I'll go pick a few more," Wukong said, leaping up the tree again. He carefully searched and picked ten in one go, putting them in his pocket before jumping down.

"Come, Brother Sha, Little White, come here. I'll let you taste this rare delicacy." Wukong took the ten oranges out of his pocket and gave one to each of Sha and Little White.

Sha Wujing ate one, licked his lips, and said happily, "Brother, you were right! This orange is truly top-quality.

Seriously, I've eaten countless oranges, but I've never tasted one this delicious!"

Xiao Bai sighed sincerely, "Fragrant and refreshing, sweet and cool, truly a delicacy."

Tang Sanzang, watching everyone savoring the oranges, was practically drooling, but having just refused Wukong's offer, he felt too embarrassed to ask for some. He could only swallow hard and ask, "Sha Wujing, is it really delicious?"

"It's really delicious! Eldest Brother, let Master have one to try," Sha Wujing said.

Wukong, still focused on the last orange, wiped the juice from his mouth and said with lingering relish, "Mmm, so satisfying! Master, would you like one too? Oh dear, why didn't you say so earlier? I even ate the last one, I'm so sorry." Tang

Sanzang felt deeply regretful; he could have had the first bite, but now he couldn't even have the last one—how pathetic! But he said magnanimously, "It's nothing. What good things haven't I eaten? I deliberately didn't eat them, saving them for you all to enjoy."

"Master, you're so great!" Sha Wujing was so moved

he almost cried.

"Master, you're always a role model for us to learn from," Xiao Bai exclaimed emotionally.

"An orange tree. But it looks very old," Wukong said thoughtfully, looking at the gnarled trunk. Wukong found it hard to say words of praise, even though he knew Tang Sanzang would like to hear them. Knowing that Tang Sanzang had missed the chance to taste the oranges because he was afraid to try them, Wukong couldn't bring himself to flatter him with such a grand reason. So he turned everyone's attention to the orange tree.

"Hehe, you're right. This is a very old orange tree, said to be as old as heaven and earth." As soon as Wukong finished speaking, an old man with white hair and a youthful face emerged from the depths of the forest, leaning on a cane as he floated in.

"Old Immortal, this humble monk greets you. This is a desolate mountain wilderness. Where do you reside, sir? Where are you headed?" Tang Sanzang, seeing the old man's extraordinary bearing, almost mistook him for a deity descended to earth, and quickly bowed in greeting.

"Hehe, this old man's surname is Zhu, and I live in Zhu Family Village outside the mountains. In my spare time, I take a walk in these mountains every day. This mountain

is rarely visited by people, and I seldom encounter strangers. I never expected to meet you all today; it must be fate." The old man chuckled.

"Hello, Grandpa! It's great to see you again!" Situ Yangguang seemed to know the old man well, stepping forward to help him up, appearing very friendly.

"Haha, young man, you're wearing new clothes; I almost didn't recognize you. Not bad, not bad at all. I knew I hadn't misjudged you; you are indeed a young man with great potential." The old man nodded repeatedly.

"It was this old man who showed me how to eat the oranges from this tree. Grandpa, thank you so much! Thanks to you, I didn't go hungry," Situ Yangguang said sincerely.

"Hehe, it was nothing, no need for thanks. I saw you, a little boy just over a year old, living in this desolate mountain wilderness. You wouldn't come down the mountain with me, and I was afraid you'd go hungry, so I showed you these 'Fire Cloud Oranges'," the old man said with a smile.

"Fire Cloud Oranges? What kind of good thing are they?" Wukong asked curiously.

"Speaking of this orange tree, it has an extraordinary origin. Legend has it that when heaven and earth were still in chaos, it gathered the essence of heaven and earth, giving birth to this spiritual root. Under heaven, there is only this one magical Fire Cloud Orange, which blossoms once every three thousand years, bears fruit once every three thousand years, and takes another three thousand years to ripen, a mere ten thousand years before it can be eaten. In those ten thousand years, it only produces thirty fruits. The Fire Cloud Oranges that ripen are vibrant red, with a refreshing fragrance, and one will not feel hungry for more than ten days. Moreover, it has unexpected miraculous effects; a person with good fortune who eats just one Fire Cloud Orange will grow a year older and possess boundless energy." The old man recounted a distant story.

"So, that's how I grew from a little boy of just over one year old into a seventeen or eighteen-year-old young man?" Situ Yangguang asked in bewilderment.

The old man smiled and nodded, saying, "That's right, that's the truth. In the past six months, you've eaten sixteen oranges. Not only have you grown into a young man, but your inner strength is also abundant and limitless."

"How do you know so much about things from millions of years ago, old man? Could you perhaps be the mountain god or local deity of this mountain? If so, quickly reveal yourself, don't hide and displease me!" Wukong chuckled.

The old man laughed heartily and vanished without a trace in the blink of an eye. A slip of paper floated down from the sky .

Tang Sanzang caught it with both hands, unfolded it, and read: "I am Taibai Jinxing of the Western Heaven."

"Ah, so it's Taibai Jinxing coming to enlighten us. Thank you, thank you!" Tang Sanzang offered incense sticks and bowed to the sky. Situ Yangguang, Sha Wujing, and Xiaobai also clasped their hands in prayer.

"What's that old man Taibai Jinxing up to? So secretive, like some thief trying to hide! Can't he just meet us openly? Humph, next time I see him, I'll give him a good talking to." Wukong said, hands on his hips, looking up at the sky.

Chapter 221: The New

Abode in the Dense Forest. After offering incense and praying to the heavens, Tang Sanzang helped up Situ Yangguang, who was kneeling and murmuring prayers, saying, "Brother, please rise. The Immortal Taibai Jinxing has already departed; there's no need to kneel any longer." Situ Yangguang stood up, exclaiming, "A miracle! A miracle! It turns out I've been under the care of the Immortal Taibai for the past six months, which is why I've survived. Thank you for your divine protection! Brother, your appearance hasn't changed at all over the years; you must have had some extraordinary encounters?"

Tang Sanzang smiled slightly and said, "After parting ways in Chang'an, I returned to the Western Paradise. Thanks to the Buddha's favor, I was bestowed the title of Sandalwood Merit Buddha, thus gaining immortality and being spared the suffering of reincarnation. My... " "This extraordinary encounter is also thanks to Your Majesty's merit. If it weren't for you sending me to the Western Paradise to retrieve the scriptures, how could I have attained enlightenment and Buddhahood today? As the saying goes, 'When you drink water, remember its source,' Your Majesty's great kindness and virtue will be forever unforgettable for Xuanzang. Xuanzang's descent to the mortal realm is precisely because I haven't forgotten Your Majesty, which is why I dared to ask the Buddha for leave, so that I can once again reunite with Your Majesty. It is also because our karmic connection

is not yet over."

Situ Yangguang said with great joy, "So, Imperial Brother has already attained enlightenment and Buddhahood! Congratulations! Congratulations indeed! To have attained Buddhahood is truly due to Your Majesty's firm will and fearlessness in the face of difficulties and dangers. I, your elder brother, haven't really been able to help much."

The two held hands and then launched into another long discourse. Seeing the two of them talking like this, Wukong figured they wouldn't be done for at least three days and three nights, so he whispered to Sha Wujing, "Old Sha, Master's talk won't stop for a couple of days. Why don't you and Xiaobai look around and see if there's a place for Master and his brother to stay for a year or two? We can go find Bajie ourselves and have some peace and quiet."

Sha Wujing chuckled and said, "Big Brother, do you want to abandon Master? This is a desolate mountain wilderness, with no village or inn in sight. Where can we find a place to stay?"

"That's right, we haven't seen a single house. Where can we find a place to stay? Big Brother, let's leave this mountain and go find Second Brother. But I wonder where Second Brother is now?" Xiaobai asked.

"Bajie is in a cozy nest right now

, probably fast asleep after a good meal! It's been almost a year since I last saw him. Bajie's belly has probably gotten much bigger!" Wukong said with a laugh. Tang Sanzang vaguely heard the three laughing and talking, so he asked, "Wukong, speaking of Bajie, I really want to see him. I've come all this way to the mortal world, why doesn't he come to see me?" "

Hehe, Master, Bajie is now living a life of luxury, how could he remember you and us? Mortal life is so colorful, Bajie must be having too much fun to remember us!" Wukong said with a grin.

"Excellent, excellent! I hope Pigsy won't be blinded by wine, women, wealth, and power. There are too many temptations in the mortal world; can Pigsy resist them? I'm truly worried. Of all my disciples, I'm most concerned about Pigsy. His willpower is the weakest; he's easily bewitched by demons. Alas, Sandy and Little White, now that you've descended to the mortal world, you must maintain a devout heart towards Buddhism and not do anything that worries me. Don't do things you shouldn't do, and don't look at things you shouldn't look at, otherwise I'll have no face to face Buddha when we return to the Western Paradise. Do you remember what I'm saying?" Tang Sanzang earnestly instructed.

"Don't worry, Master. I

've kept your teachings in mind!" Sandy, afraid that once his master started talking, he wouldn't be able to stop, quickly and obsequiously agreed.

"Good, good! Little White, do you remember them too?" Tang Sanzang turned to Little White and asked.

"I remember, I remember! Little White has always kept Master's teachings in mind," Little White said with a smile.

"Hmm, you truly are my good disciple! Wukong, where are you? Wukong!" Tang Sanzang searched all around but couldn't find Wukong, so he called out loudly.

It turned out that Wukong, impatient with Tang Sanzang's long lecture, had quietly gone into the dense forest to play. Hearing his master's anxious calls, Wukong thought his master had encountered some demon, so he quickly leaped to his master's side and asked, "Master, why are you calling me so urgently? Did you see a demon?"

"There's no demon, but I couldn't see you, so I was a little worried and called anxiously. Wukong, where did you go just now? You didn't even tell me! You have no discipline at all. This can't go on. After all, I'm your master, your legal guardian." Tang Sanzang, relieved to see Wukong return, scolded him.

"Hehe, I suddenly felt stuffy, so I went into the forest and took a few breaths of fresh air. Now I feel much better!" Wukong said with a grin. Thinking to himself, "If I listen to your rambling any longer, I'm really going to faint."

"Wukong, the sun is about to set. Where will we stay tonight?" Tang Sanzang asked with concern.

"Don't worry about finding a place to stay, Imperial Brother. I'll show you around my new residence," Situ Yangguang said enthusiastically.

"Eh, your new residence? I'd like to see just how magnificent the new residence of a great emperor is! Come on, take us on a tour!" Wukong suddenly became interested as well.

"Alright, please follow me," Situ Yangguang said.

"Sha Wujing, carry the luggage," Tang Sanzang instructed.

"Luggage? No need to carry it. The path in this forest is so narrow; carrying such a large bundle of luggage will make it difficult to move an inch. Anyway, this place is deserted; no one should steal anything. Besides, the bundles are just worthless scriptures; what thief would be interested?" Sha Wujing muttered under his breath.

“Sha Wujing, how have I always taught you? You shouldn't have the heart to harm others, but you can't be without the heart to guard against them. These scriptures may be worthless to ordinary thieves, but can you guarantee that none of them have ulterior motives? What if one of them becomes interested in my scriptures and steals them? How can I explain this to Buddha? These scriptures are the public wealth of the Western Paradise. If we lose them, how can we, master and disciples, still have the face to stand in the Western Paradise? That loss is far greater than losing a thousand pieces of gold…” Tang Sanzang scolded Sha Wujing with great distress.

“Master, stop talking! I'll go get the luggage right now.” Before Sha Wujing could finish speaking, Tang Sanzang hurriedly went to the luggage, stretched out his demon-subduing staff, hoisted the large bundles of luggage onto his shoulder, and followed his master unsteadily.

Situ Yangguang led the group through the winding path in the dense forest. The path was indeed very narrow; even one person could barely walk. Sha Wujing, carrying a large load of luggage, stumbled and struggled, each step extremely difficult.

"Master, Master, don't walk so fast, wait for me!" Sha Wujing

called out from behind, panting heavily. Little White, following beside him, said, "Brother Sha, let me carry it!"

"It doesn't matter who carries it, the road is too narrow. Even with immense strength, it's useless! I'll carry it myself!" Sha Wujing sighed.

Wukong felt a pang of pity and shouted, "Brother Sha, don't worry! With me, Sun Wukong, here, nothing can stop us!" He pulled his golden cudgel from his ear, swung it in the wind, and it shrank to the thickness of a bowl. Then he instructed Situ Yangguang to lead the way. He followed behind Situ Yangguang, wielding the golden cudgel here and there, and soon a bright, wide road appeared behind him. Sha Wujing was overjoyed and strode after him, happily shouting, "Brother, you're so considerate! This makes things much easier. Brother, thank you so much!"

"What are you thanking me for? Why are you being so polite, Brother Sha?" Wukong said with a smile, continuing to clear the way.

"We're here! My new home is just ahead!" Situ Yangguang exclaimed happily.

Wukong looked closely and saw that the path had suddenly opened up into a large, flat area, covered in green grass and fragrant flowers. A brand-new wooden house, built entirely of wood, stood prominently before him,

exuding a transcendent elegance against the backdrop of green grass and fragrant flowers.

"Brother, is this your new home?" Tang Sanzang asked curiously.

"Yes, every single piece of wood in this house, every single thatch on the roof, I personally felled and erected myself. What do you think? Isn't it quite charming, Brother?" Situ Yangguang said proudly.

“Brother, you’ve really gone through a lot! A dignified Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, having to build your own house just to have a place to live, and in such a desolate place at that. Brother, I can’t hold back my tears.” Tang Sanzang said, tears welling in his eyes, emotionally grasping Situ Yangguang’s hand, “Brother, you’ve suffered so much!”

“Brother, don’t be sad for me. I’m enjoying this secluded life, truly, I am. Even during my glorious days as emperor, I often longed to one day own a wooden house like this, living quietly each day in a desolate forest. However, back then it was just a thought; too many chores tied my hands and feet, how could I have such leisure? Haha, now my wish has

finally come true, Brother, you should be happy for me.” Situ Yangguang felt no sadness at all, but rather great excitement.

“This wooden house is well-built, I like it very much,” Wukong said happily. Then, without waiting for Situ Yangguang to invite him, he was the first to push open the wooden door. The furnishings inside were simple: a wooden table and a wooden bed. However, the floor was clean, and the room smelled of fresh wood.

"This is your new home after living here for half a year? Brother, you don't even have a warm coat! You've suffered so much!" Tang Sanzang followed Situ Yangguang in and, seeing the sparseness of the room, couldn't help but feel a pang of sorrow.

"It's alright, it's alright. Ever since I ate those fiery oranges, I haven't felt hungry for eight or ten days straight, and I'm always warm. Even on snowy days without clothes, I don't feel cold at all," Situ Yangguang said with a smile.

"Do you miss the Situ family? Yueyue is so good to you, do you miss them?" Wukong asked.

Chapter 222

Deep Regret Situ Yangguang's expression was solemn, his brows furrowed, and he sighed deeply, saying, "It would be a lie to say I don't miss them. Madam Situ treated me so well, almost like her own child, always caring for me with utmost tenderness. And Situ Yuyue and Yueyue, they loved me like their own younger brothers. If it weren't for the divine intervention, I would never have wanted to leave them and come to this desolate mountain wilderness to endure loneliness. Alas, I wonder how they are doing? I really want to see them again! Especially Yueyue, from the first moment I saw her, I felt an inexplicable sense of closeness. This feeling is subtle and hard to express in words; she has a wondrous aura that draws me to her."

"Oh, I see. I thought you were up to no good at such a young age. Haha, I actually mistook you for a little rascal and almost tried to scare you!" Wukong laughed.

"Hehe, no wonder you glared at me when I was snuggling in Sister Yue's arms. Luckily you didn't lay a hand on me, or I would have lost my life," Situ Yangguang said thankfully.

"Don't think of me as so violent. I've never laid a hand on a one-year-old!" Wukong said with a smile. "Without further ado, since you're so attached to Yueyue and the Situ family, let's leave right away. You'll see them in half an hour!" Wukong said decisively.

“Great! I can’t wait to see them. Half an hour feels too slow. I wonder how far it is from here to the city? Can I get back in half an hour? Half a year ago, I was brought here in a daze. I still don’t know who brought me here. I only remember leaving a few words for Mother Situ before I came, telling them I was going to be gone for a while and not to worry. Then, without realizing it, I ended up here. So, I really don’t know if I can get back in half an hour,” Situ Yangguang said.

“Don’t worry, half an hour is my most conservative estimate. If Master wasn’t a little scared, we could get there in less than a second,” Wukong said with a grin.

“Is it really that magical? Then why did it take you half a year to ask my brother to see me?” Situ Yangguang asked, puzzled.

"Then you'd better ask your brother, what exactly happened? Good heavens, Master

spent several hours just packing his luggage, and then he had to say goodbye to Buddha. Along the way, he was afraid of heights and also terrified of extremely fast speeds, so he was delayed for most of the day in heaven. As the saying goes, a day in heaven is a year on earth, so what's half a day on earth is already half a year," Wukong said helplessly.

"Wukong, you can't blame your master for being slow. I'm a steady person, and I have to consider everything thoroughly before I can act. We're not three-year-olds anymore, we can't do anything rashly, right? Even the wisest person can make a mistake. Needless to say, I am a wise person, but even with a thousand considerations, there are things I overlook. So I consider things more thoroughly and far-sightedly than the wisest person, and I must ensure that everything is taken into account. Take this descent to the mortal realm as an example, there are at least ten major factors that I need to consider. The first one..." Tang Sanzang looked up at Wukong and said very seriously.

"Yes, yes, Master's teachings are excellent, Wukong has learned a lot. However, if a house catches fire, it's better not to tell you." Wukong saw his master preparing to lecture again and quickly interrupted his conversation.

"

Why ? Wukong, do you doubt my kindness?" Tang Sanzang asked, displeased.

"No, no, how could I doubt your kindness, Master? Everyone knows your kindness is overflowing. However, if I tell you, you'll have to spend a long time weighing the pros and cons, and by the time you have an answer, that house will have been burned to the ground!" Wukong said with a grin.

"Hahaha, hahaha." Sha Wujing laughed without hesitation.

"Old Sha, is it that funny? You agree with Wukong's point of view?" Tang Sanzang asked with a serious face. Sha Wujing quickly stopped laughing and said, "Master, I'm not laughing at you, I just heard Xiaobai suddenly fart, so I couldn't help but laugh."

"Is it true, Xiaobai?" Tang Sanzang turned to ask the elegantly dressed Eight Heavenly Dragons.

"Yes, I'm so sorry, Master, I just couldn't hold it in and let out a fart," Xiao Bai

said, embarrassed. After Wukong's words, Xiao Bai hadn't been able to suppress his laughter, but he dared not laugh out loud. A surge of anger welled up inside him, finally bursting forth from the Dragon Gate. "How unseemly! Absolutely unseemly! Even a virtuous person would fart away from others. How could you be so unrestrained,

Xiao Bai ?" Tang Sanzang scolded. Xiao Bai stood to the side, his face flushed, deeply ashamed.

Wukong almost fainted. Good heavens, farting has nothing to do with morality? Master, you're truly amazing! Suppressing his laughter, he said, "Xiao Bai, you really are something else. You always ignore your master's teachings. That's not good. One shouldn't be too flamboyant, and the same goes for farting. You should be more discreet." Xiao Bai's face flushed red and then paled from the ridicule. He wished he could dig a hole and disappear forever.

“Brother Sha, it’s really not appropriate for us to go out dressed like this. Let’s transform and become more handsome,” Wukong said to Sha Wujing.

“It’s not like we’re going on a blind date, why bother becoming so handsome?” Sha Wujing said dismissively.

“But, if we go out like this, we might scare a lot of people. Let’s transform!” After saying that, Wukong transformed into a handsome young man. He had a square face and big eyes, somewhat resembling Tang Sanzang, but with much more masculine energy. It seemed that when Wukong transformed, he had been thinking of the Tang Sanzang he knew, only slightly modifying him

. His appearance and height were similar to Tang Sanzang’s, but his attire was very different. Wukong wore a set of loose, light gray clothes, much simpler than Tang Sanzang’s glittering golden robe.

“Wukong, why are you transforming into your master’s appearance?” Tang Sanzang asked.

"Master is so handsome, he's practically a heartthrob! Having a pretty face has many advantages, and I, Old Sun, want to be handsome too. Look, Little White looks great, Brother Sha,

why don't you become a pretty face too?" Wukong said with a grin. "I have a dark face, I can't become a pretty face no matter what. Besides, I think I look fine as I am, I don't care if I don't," Sha Wujing

said uncompromisingly. "Alright then, since Brother Sha insists, I have no objection. But I have to tell you beforehand, people in the mortal world like to judge by appearances. With your looks, you'd probably have trouble even surviving in the mortal world," Wukong said with a smile.

"Really? I, Old Sha, am strong enough to do manual labor, even if I can't become rich and powerful, I should at least have enough to eat, right?" Sha Wujing said defiantly.

"You don't believe me? I can make a bet with you. If you can

find work with your looks, I, Old Sun, will admit defeat," Wukong said.

"Okay, it's a deal!" Sha Wujing just wouldn't believe it. "With my strength, where can't I survive? Senior Brother is underestimating me too much.

" "Wukong, it's getting late, let's set off quickly." Tang Sanzang looked up at the sky; the sun was about to set. If they didn't leave soon, the whole group would have to spend the night in this desolate wilderness. Having grown accustomed to the comfortable life at Leiyin Temple in the Western Paradise, it would indeed take great courage for him to return to a life of wandering.

"Alright, let's set off!" Wukong silently recited an incantation, and a five-colored auspicious cloud drifted down from the horizon.

"Get on, Master, you go first." Wukong helped Tang Sanzang onto the auspicious cloud. Sha Wujing and Xiao Bai followed. Seeing everyone board the cloud, Situ Yangguang also stepped on without hesitation.

The auspicious cloud carried the five of them away gracefully. Having had his first experience, Tang Sanzang had gradually gotten used to it. He no longer needed to sit cross-legged on the cloud chanting scriptures; he simply stood still, eyes slightly closed, fingers twirling the prayer beads around his neck, muttering incantations.

Situ Yangguang was very curious. He felt light on his feet, white clouds drifting by, and the wind whistling in his ears—it felt incredibly refreshing.

"It's strange. How did these auspicious clouds come to the mountain where I am? Did you know I was there all along and specially bring my brother here to see me?" Situ Yangguang asked curiously.

"I was also a little puzzled at first. Why did these colorful auspicious clouds suddenly seem to have gone against my will and fly straight to that nameless mountain? So you were there. Fate is always very mysterious and cannot be explained by ordinary people. Let's just consider it a kind of fate. Master and you have a deep connection. There is a destiny in the universe," Wukong said.

"We're here. I recognize that red building." As the auspicious cloud descended lower and lower, Situ Yangguang recognized the Situ family villa.

"Let's find a secluded spot to land." Wukong spotted a quiet place, landed on the cloud, and the five of them landed safely.

In the distance, a person was taking pictures of the sunset. He had a clear view of the colorful auspicious cloud and exclaimed in surprise, "Ah, I'm so lucky! I saw a UFO! Amazing!" In his excitement, he forgot to take a picture of the glittering "UFO." Only when the luminous object

suddenly disappeared from his sight did he realize his mistake and regret missing a great opportunity to take a picture.

"I'm so stupid! I forgot to press the shutter. I could have taken a picture of the UFO's true appearance, but I lost the chance. I'm so stupid!" For the next few days, this photography enthusiast told everyone he met this, looking just like a regretful Xianglin's wife.

Chapter 223 Not Just Kidding

The five of them arrived at the gate of the Situ family's house, where a luxurious villa stood before them.

"We've arrived, Master. This is Mr. Situ's home, which is also Pigsy's temporary haven," Wukong introduced.

"Hmm, not bad. This architecture is simply exquisite, even better than my residence at the Thunderclap Temple in the Western Paradise," Tang Sanzang exclaimed.

"Shh, Master, Mr. Situ is just an ordinary mortal. It's best not to mention the Thunderclap Temple in front of him, lest you frighten him," Wukong reminded him. Tang Sanzang nodded repeatedly, saying, "Yes, yes, I was careless for a moment and almost revealed a secret. Sandy and Little White, remember not to reveal your identities, and don't say things you shouldn't, understand?"

"Master, what shouldn't be said?" Sandy asked seriously. Tang Sanzang said very seriously, "It means you shouldn't rush to speak. I am the legal spokesperson, and to maintain consistency, I must speak first. Understand?"

"Disciples obey," Sandy and

Little White replied respectfully.

Seeing the familiar home, Situ Yangguang strode forward and rang the doorbell. The young maid opened the door and saw five burly men standing there. Three of them were dressed in monks' robes, and the other, a man with a full beard, was carrying a large pile of luggage on his shoulder. The maid was taken aback, thinking they were monks coming to beg

for alms. Just as she was about to ask, she looked closer and recognized Sun Wukong inside. Hesitantly, she asked, "Mr. Sun, who are they...?" "Hehe, they are all my relatives and friends, here to seek refuge with Mr. Situ," Wukong said.

"Then I'll go and inform Mr. Situ right away. He just returned from the company and is chatting with Madam and Miss Situ in the living room! Mr. Sun, you've been gone for over half a year, and Miss Situ has been looking worried and unhappy every day. If she knew you were back, she would be overjoyed! Please wait a moment, I'll go in and tell them right away," the maid said happily.

"No need, you just need to open the door, we'll go in ourselves," Wukong instructed. Having witnessed Wukong's impatience, the maid had no choice but to open the door wide,

saying, "Come in, come in!" She then rushed inside, shouting, "Miss, guess who's back?"

Situ Nan and the others were chatting in the living room when they heard the maid's voice and stopped. The maid stumbled in, panting, and said, "Miss, good news, good news!"

Situ Yu jumped up, excitedly asking, "What good news? Is Wukong back?" The maid nodded vigorously, saying happily, "Yes, yes! Mr. Sun has brought a group of relatives, saying they've come to stay with Mr. Situ."

Situ Yu smiled and said, "Wukong doesn't have any relatives. I'll go see. Yueyue, come on!" With that, she grabbed Yueyue's hand and rushed out of the living room.

"That child, so flustered! Hearing Wukong's name, she even forgot her parents! Hehe, old man, it's all good now, Xiaoyu finally has a smile on her face. Sigh, I was so worried these past few days, Xiaoyu hasn't smiled in so long, I was worried she'd get sick from holding it in. Old man, let's go join in the fun." Madam Situ pulled her husband away.

"Hehe, it's been so long since I've

seen Xiaoyu so happy! That Wukong is really something, he's been gone for half a year without even a phone call." Situ Nan complained as they walked.

Wukong led Tang Sanzang and his companions through the gate. They hadn't gone far when two beautiful girls, like two joyful butterflies, fluttered in. One of them ran over, threw herself into Wukong's arms, and hugged him tightly, saying joyfully, "Wukong, we've finally waited for you to return! Where have you been all this time? Why did you leave without a word?"

The other girl pouted and chimed in, "That's right, Brother Sun, your departure has worried me and Sister Yu to death! Look, Sister Yu has almost become a skinny beauty!"

Tang Sanzang, witnessing this alluring scene, hurriedly closed his eyes, muttering, "Forgive me, forgive me! Female benefactor, men and women should not touch each other. What kind of behavior is this?"

Situ Yu then realized several pairs of eyes were staring at her. Her face flushed, and she quickly took a step back, lowering her head. Shyly, she said, "I'm sorry, I forgot you have a few friends." Yueyue giggled, scrutinizing Tang Sanzang and the others, and said, "Brother Sun, are these all your relatives? Do you have many relatives who are monks?"

Situ Yangguang stepped forward, took Yueyue's soft hand, and said emotionally, "Sister Yue, I'm not a monk. Look closely, who am I?"

Yueyue was caught off guard by a young man grabbing her hands, her face flushed with embarrassment. She struggled to break free from Situ Yangguang's grasp, saying angrily, "Where did this lecherous rogue come from, treating me so lightly? Brother Sun, your relative is too rude!"

Wukong laughed and said to Yueyue, "Yueyue, don't be angry yet, look closely at who he is." Yueyue looked up and stared at Situ Yangguang for a long time, vaguely feeling a sense of déjà vu, but couldn't remember where she had seen him before.

"I don't know him!" Yueyue said decisively.

"You really don't recognize me? Sister Yue, half a year ago I was still nestled in your arms! Sister Yue, I'm Little Sunshine!"

"Little Sunshine? You're Little Sunshine?" Yueyue could hardly believe it. The little boy who was nestled in her arms half a year ago had suddenly grown into a

young man ! He was even half a head taller than her. Looking closely, his eyebrows and eyes, his expression, were indeed no different from Little Sunshine's.

"Do you believe me now? It's the real deal." Situ Sunshine said with a smile.

Yueyue felt like she was in a dream, and said in surprise, "Looking closely, it's true, but how could you grow into a big boy in just half a year? Am I dreaming?"

At this moment, Situ Nan and his wife also arrived. Tang Seng put his palms together in greeting and said, "Wukong, these two benefactors are..."

"Master, they are the Situ couple I told you about." Wukong introduced.

"This humble monk greets you!" Tang Sanzang said, clasping his hands in a gesture of respect. "This humble monk is Wukong's master, surnamed Chen, named Xuanzang. These two are my disciples, one is called Xiaobai, and this bearded man is called Lao Sha. Don't let his fierce appearance fool you, he's actually very kind-hearted." Sha Wujing, carrying his luggage, chuckled and said, "Master is right, I, Lao Sha, am indeed very kind-hearted."

Situ Nan looked closely and saw that Wukong's master was indeed exceptionally handsome. He saw:

A dignified and elegant countenance, his Buddhist robes perfectly tailored. Radiant

light filled the universe, colorful patterns seemed to condense the cosmos.

Bright pearls were arranged one above the other, layers of gold thread ran through the front and back. The four sides of the robe were edged with brocade, adorned with countless rare and exquisite embroideries.

Eight treasures were embroidered with silk buttons, and gold rings bound the collar with velvet buckles. Buddhas and celestial beings were arranged in varying sizes and heights, and celestial bodies were distinguished by rank and status.

"Master Xuanzang is truly blessed; this gift is worthy of his presence. He is like a living Arhat of the Pure Land, surpassing even the enlightened one of the West.

His staff jingles with nine rings, his Vairocana hat reflects his abundant wealth. He is indeed a true disciple of the Buddha, surpassing even Bodhi in his truthfulness.

" "What a handsome monk!" Situ Nan secretly exclaimed in his heart, then happily said, "It is a great honor to have such a high-ranking monk visit my home." Tang Sanzang said, "We apologize for disturbing you. We only wish to stay for one night and leave tomorrow."

"Leave tomorrow? No, no! It is a rare occasion for Wukong's master to arrive; we should stay for at least a year or two. How can you leave so soon? Don't worry, Elder, my place is spacious enough to ensure you stay comfortably and eat well." Situ Nan earnestly urged him to stay. Tang Sanzang was overjoyed. His earlier promise to leave tomorrow was merely a polite remark; staying longer would be even better, allowing him to enjoy family

time . So, going along with it, he said, "Thank you for your kindness, benefactor. Your generosity will surely bring you the Buddha's blessing. Since you insist we stay, we'll take our leave."

"Not at all, not at all! My enthusiasm for doing good deeds is inspired by your disciple, Wukong," Situ Nan said sincerely. Tang Sanzang looked at Wukong with admiration and said happily, "Wukong, it seems you've done well!"

"Not at all, not at all, I learned it all from you, Master," Wukong said with a smile.

"And this elder, is he also your disciple?" Situ Nan asked Tang Sanzang. This young man also wore a well-fitting cassock, with delicate features and an extraordinary air. However, he had a full head of black hair; was he practicing with his hair still on?

Yueyue nestled close to Madam Situ, excitedly saying, "Godfather, he's Little Sunshine!

He's grown so big, you wouldn't believe it, would you?" "Little Sunshine? Haha, Yueyue, don't tease your godmother! Guang'er isn't even two years old yet, how could he be so tall? Look, he's a whole head taller than you!" Madam Situ said with a smile.

"It's true. Mom, Sister Yue is absolutely right, she's not just teasing you, I am your Guang'er!" Situ Yangguang walked to Madam Situ's side and said softly.

The Situ couple looked at him with puzzled expressions.

Situ Yangguang told everyone about his extraordinary experiences over the past six months, but he didn't mention the story of the Immortal Taibai, fearing it would frighten them. He only said that his unusual appearance was due to a magical wild fruit called Fire Cloud Orange found in the mountains. Yueyue and Situ Yu were both astonished, exclaiming that it was a miracle. Mrs. Situ was overjoyed, cupping Situ Yangguang's face in her hands and gently stroking it. Tears welled up in her eyes as she murmured, "You really are Yangguang, my Yangguang! My child, you've suffered so much!"

"I'm sorry, Mom, I've worried you," Situ Yangguang sincerely apologized.

"Ever since you ran away from home half a year ago, Mom hasn't been able to eat or sleep, constantly calling your name. Little brother, you must never disappear again, or your sister Yue and I won't let you off the hook!" Situ Yu said, pretending to be angry.

"I know, I won't do it again!" Situ Yangguang

said mischievously, sticking out his tongue.

"I hope so! It's wonderful to have the whole family together!" Situ Nan beamed, saying cheerfully, "Today is truly a good day! Not only are Wukong and Guang'er back, but we also have several distinguished guests. Haha, my Situ family is bustling with activity! Wukong, I understand even more deeply what you told me now. It turns out that accumulating good deeds truly brings good fortune."

"Excellent, excellent! Your understanding is truly a blessing from Buddha." Tang Sanzang praised, clasping his hands in agreement. Looking around, he couldn't see Bajie anywhere. Tang Sanzang couldn't help but ask, "Hey, Wukong, where's Bajie? Didn't you say he lived here too?" (

Chapter 224 I Only Like Romance Novels)

Hearing Tang Sanzang inquire about Bajie's whereabouts from Wukong, Yueyue giggled and said, "Are you asking about that lazy pig? There are two places you can find him. One is the dining room, and the other is his own bed. It's not mealtime yet, so you can definitely find him in his bed."

“Oh, Pigsy hasn’t changed his lazy temper at all. That’s not good. How can he expect to be waited on hand and foot while living under someone else’s roof? Shouldn’t he at least help with some housework? Sigh, I should give Pigsy a good lesson in morality. We Chinese people must never lose our glorious tradition of loving labor. Wukong, take me to Pigsy’s room. I want to fulfill my responsibilities as a master.” Tang Sanzang looked at Pigsy with a disappointed expression.

“Elder, you should settle down first. There are a few guest rooms next to Wukong’s room. I’ll have a servant take you there. Wukong, I’ll wait for you in the living room. Have the cook prepare some food and wine. After your master and the others are settled, we’ll have dinner together.” Situ Nan looked at the large pile of luggage that Sandy was carrying

on his shoulder and hurriedly instructed the maid to take them to the guest rooms.

“We’re really sorry to bother you. We are all monks. We don’t need any food and wine. We’re content with a vegetarian meal.” Tang Sanzang said.

"Alright, alright, I'll arrange for the cook to prepare a vegetarian meal. Elders, please put down your luggage and rest for a while. Xiaoqing, you take the elders there. Arrange a guest room for Guang'er as well, hehe, he's grown up now, he can't share a room with his sisters anymore." Situ Nan instructed the maid who was quietly waiting for his orders.

"This young benefactor and I get along very well, we hit it off immediately, I'd like to share a guest room with him." Tang Seng pointed to Situ Yangguang and said. It was not easy to meet his elder brother, so it was naturally better to stay together, so they could have plenty of time to chat.

"Alright, since the elders and Guang'er get along so well, you two can stay together. Guang'er, do you have any objections?" Situ Nan asked.

"No objections. I was just about to bring it up with you! Xiaoqing, you take us there." Situ Yangguang said happily.

"Okay. Everyone, please follow me." The maid said respectfully.

"Thank you

, thank you! Thank you for leading the way, benefactor." Tang Seng clasped his hands in a gesture of respect to the maid. The maid chuckled and said, "Hehe, you're quite amusing, you big monk. I've never seen anyone so polite."

"It's no big deal to be polite, please don't take offense, lady," Tang Sanzang replied, remaining courteous. The maid, barely suppressing her laughter, led Tang Sanzang and the others to their rooms, saying, "These three floors are all guest rooms. Each of you will have a single room. If you need any help, just let me know; I'd be happy to assist you." The maid helped Sha Wujing unpack his luggage. Seeing several large bags filled with books, she stuck out her tongue and exclaimed, "Wow, so many books! Do you own a bookstore? Did you close down due to poor management?"

"What? These are all Master's treasures. Don't touch them; I can unpack them myself," Sha Wujing quickly dissuaded her when he saw her pick up a book to read.

"Fine, I won't read them then. What's so great about them? The Magadha Sutra, the Lotus Sutra, the Buddha's Land Sutra—they're all incomprehensible books. I wouldn't even want to read them if they were given to me! Do you have any romance novels? I like reading Aunt Qiong Yao's romance novels," the maid said disdainfully. "Well said

, well said! You're mistaken, benefactor! These are all precious scriptures, every word a gem, every sentence a truth. How can you say they're just worthless books? That's a great disrespect to the Buddhist scriptures, a disrespect to the Buddha. I see you're young and ignorant, so I won't hold it against you. We'll be staying here for a while, so we'll have plenty of time to give you lessons, so you can gain some basic understanding of life," Tang Sanzang admonished.

"Listen to your lessons? Good heavens, spare me! I'd rather go back to work," the maid said, chuckling as she retreated.

“Alas, no wonder the Buddha said that Buddhism is now waning in China, and young people disdain scriptures, so how can they have any respect for Buddhism? It seems our journey is truly arduous and long. Your Majesty, thinking of the flourishing of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty, and comparing it to our current predicament, I am filled with emotion. Promoting Buddhism should start with the younger generation. Your Majesty, what are your thoughts?” Tang Sanzang said with deep feeling.

Situ Yangguang calmly said, "The flourishing of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty also went through a process of decline and rise. Back

then, I issued an imperial edict ordering the Grand Historian Fu Yi to select eminent monks and construct Buddhist temples. Upon hearing the edict, Fu Yi immediately submitted a memorial to stop the construction of Buddhist temples, arguing that there was no Buddha. The memorial stated:

'The Western Regions' laws of fasting and meditation have no distinction between ruler and subject, father and son. They use the three evil paths and six realms to deceive the foolish, causing them to dwell on past sins and yearn for future blessings, reciting Sanskrit to seek escape. Moreover, life, death, longevity, and premature death are all determined by nature; punishment, virtue, power, and fortune are determined by the ruler. Now I hear that laypeople falsely claim it is due to Buddhism. From the time of the Five Emperors and Three Kings, there was no Buddhism; the rulers were wise, the ministers loyal, and the reigns were long. It was only during the reign of Emperor Ming of Han that foreign gods were established, but only the monks of the Western Regions propagated their teachings; they were actually barbarians invading China and are not credible. Furthermore, they say that rites are based on serving one's parents and ruler, but Buddhism is about turning away from one's parents and becoming a monk, a commoner defying the emperor, and continuing the family's ways.

' So why did Buddhism later flourish?" "Tang Sanzang asked curiously.

"At that time, there was a prime minister named Xiao Xing who stepped forward, bowed, and said: 'Buddhism has flourished since the reigns of the previous dynasties, promoting good and suppressing evil, secretly assisting the country, and should not be abandoned. Buddha is a sage. Those who are not sages have no laws, so please impose severe punishments.' Then, Zhang Daoyuan, the Minister of the Imperial Stud, and Zhang Shiheng, the Chancellor, submitted a memorial, saying: 'Buddha is in purity, benevolence, and forgiveness; the true Buddha is emptiness. Emperor Wu of Zhou divided the three teachings into three categories: the Great Master Hui was praised for his profound and distant teachings, and he was venerated by many

; the Fifth Patriarch was reincarnated, and Bodhidharma appeared. Since ancient times, it has been said that the three teachings are supreme and cannot be destroyed or abandoned.' At this point, the Grand Historian Fu Yi was weak and had no words to respond. After the ministers recommended you, my brother, a high monk, to carry out Buddhist activities, Buddhism was able to gradually flourish." Situ Yangguang remembered the previous events vividly.

Tang Sanzang nodded and said: "Your Majesty, you have a good memory!" I also remember when I was ordered to go to the Western Paradise to retrieve the scriptures. My elder brother and the court officials escorted me to the border. My elder brother gave me a purple-gold alms bowl and bestowed upon me the Dharma name Sanzang. The past events are still vivid in my mind. I will never forget my elder brother's kindness and favor."

The two held hands and talked, completely detached from worldly affairs

. Without the burden on his shoulders, Sha Wujing felt much more relaxed. He breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Finally, I can breathe a sigh of relief. Eldest brother, this house is really nicely furnished. It must be comfortable to live in."

Wukong smiled and said, "It is nice. If you like it, you can stay here as long as you like. Situ Nan is very hospitable. Pigsy has been eating and living here for almost a year and hasn't been kicked out yet. It can be seen that the Situ family is very generous."

"Hey, speaking of second brother, I really want to see him. Which room does he live in?" Sha Wujing asked.

"Come, you and Little White, come with me. Let Master and the others chat here slowly. Let's go see Pigsy." "Wukong gestured for Xiaobai to come along too. Xiaobai was standing next to Tang Sanzang, listening to their conversation but unable to get a word in edgewise, feeling utterly bored. Seeing Wukong's gesture, she was naturally delighted and hurriedly followed.

"Where does Second Brother live?" Sha Wujing asked as they exited the door.

"Not far, just ahead. He and I used to live together," Wukong pointed to another building ahead.

"Wow, so big? Just the two of you living there?" Sha Wujing asked in surprise.

"What's so strange about that? The Situ family has plenty of houses; they're just sitting empty anyway. Situ Nan is happy to have someone living there!" Wukong said with a smile.

Upon reaching the door, they found it tightly closed, and a loud snoring sound came from inside.

"It's Second Brother inside! It's him!" Sha Wujing exclaimed excitedly. Of course, Sha Wujing was very familiar with Pigsy's signature snoring.

"Of course it's him. Who else could snore like that

?" "Wukong laughed heartily.

Sha Wujing reached out and pushed the door, but it was tightly shut.

"Hehe, Second Brother is really funny, he even sleeps with the door closed? He used to sleep with the door open at Leiyin Temple." Sha Wujing said.

"He's afraid people will disturb his peaceful dreams!" Wukong said.

"Then what should we do? Wake him up?" Sha Wujing asked.

"Wake him up, if your voice is loud enough." Wukong said with a grin, "But I don't think the chances are high."

Sha Wujing knocked on the door, his voice gradually getting louder, but the snoring inside persisted stubbornly.

"Second Brother, Second Brother, it's me, it's Sha Wujing, your good brother, please open the door and let us in." Sha Wujing called out, pressing his mouth against the crack in the door.

There was no response from inside.

"Second Brother, Second Brother..." Sha Wujing called persistently, his voice gradually becoming more impatient.

Xiao Bai said from the side, "Don't be too loud, or the host will think we're impolite." “

How can you wake him up without shouting?” Sha Wujing said irritably.

“Let me do it.” Wukong laughed and

pulled Sha Wujing aside, pointing his finger at the door and saying, “Open!” The door opened immediately.

“Hehe, Senior Brother, you’re teasing me.” Sha Wujing said.

“How am I teasing you?”

“Since you have this skill, why did you make me go through all the trouble of knocking? Isn’t this deliberately teasing me?” Sha Wujing said.

“I didn’t, I just wanted to give you a chance to wake this lazy pig. Come in, come in, let’s see if he’s daydreaming.” Wukong pulled Sha Wujing and Bai Suzhen into the house, through the living room, and into Pigsy’s bedroom. There lay a big, dark-skinned man sprawled on the bed, mouth wide open, fast asleep, drool dripping from his mouth.

“Who is he? He doesn’t look like Second Brother.” "Sha Wujing asked.

"Of course it's Bajie. He just changed his appearance so as not to scare people. Just like how I look now, haven't I changed my appearance too?" Wukong said.

Sha Wujing nodded, indicating that he understood, and then said, "But, the eldest brother has become much more handsome after this transformation, while the second brother is still very ugly." He walked to Bajie's side, pushed him hard, and

shouted loudly in Bajie's ear, "Second brother, dinner is ready!"

Bajie jumped up, rubbing his eyes and said, "There's food? Where is the food?"

Wukong laughed and said, "Old Sha, so you also know the trick to waking up Bajie. Why didn't you use it when you were at the door?"

Bajie saw clearly the people in front of him. Besides Wukong, there was also Sha Wujing and Xiaobai. He was so happy that he woke up immediately. He grabbed Wukong's hand and Sha Wujing's hand with the other, and said happily, "Eldest brother, how come you've been gone for more than half a year? Where have you been for the past six months? Why did you leave me, Old Pig, alone?" "Brother Sha, how come you're with Senior Brother? And Little White is here too? Am I dreaming?"

"Second Brother, you're not dreaming, even Master is here!" Sha Wujing said happily.

"Master is here too? Haha, then we're all reunited! But with Master here, my ears are going to suffer again!" "Bajie pulled his big ears and exaggeratedly frowned, sighing.

Chapter 225 The Unromantic

Master and Disciples rarely reunited in the mortal realm, and their joy was self-evident. Whether there was anything to do or not, Wukong and the others would gather together, watch TV, chat, and live a more comfortable life than in Leiyin Temple. Situ Yu and Yueyue also liked to play with them, and when they had time, they would teach them how to use the internet. The virtual world of the internet greatly intrigued Wukong, and the exciting online games also made him feel very excited.

As for their master, Tang Sanzang, he spent his days in his bedroom reciting scriptures, and the outside world did not seem to arouse much interest in him. Situ Yangguang lived in the same room as him, and every day he would recite scriptures with great interest with Tang Sanzang, discussing the doctrines. Tang Sanzang found a kindred spirit and recited scriptures even more diligently. Wukong and the others were indeed afraid of their master's nagging. Seeing their master engrossed in the scriptures was exactly what they wanted, so they did not come over to disturb them. Everyone lived in peace and harmony."

That day, a strikingly beautiful woman appeared at the lunch table. She was probably in her early thirties, with a full figure, like a ripe grape, but her brow was furrowed, and she seemed sullen and unhappy. Pigsy

's gaze kept glancing at her, thinking to himself, "So a woman's furrowed brow can be quite charming." Tang Sanzang, on the other hand, sat upright, his eyes fixed on the vegetarian meal before him.

"Li Yan, you seem troubled today, as if something is on your mind. Why don't you tell me? Perhaps I can help? I've always treated you like a daughter. Please don't be shy; tell your aunt what's on your mind, okay?" Madam Situ asked with concern, noticing Li Yan's distracted state.

Tears welled in Li Yan's eyes, threatening to spill, but she forced herself to speak, "Aunt Situ, besides wanting to see you today, I also need your help with something. My house might be haunted lately." Li Yan's enthusiasm was palpable.

"Your house is haunted? Li Yan, what exactly happened? Tell me slowly." Madam Situ was taken aback.

Li Yan tried her best to control her emotions and slowly explained why she had come to see Madam Situ. Wukong and the others listened to her story with great interest and learned the general outline of the matter.

Her name was Li Yan. Her father was the chairman of a well-known company in Lingwang City, with assets worth tens of millions. He was also an old friend of the Situ couple, and the two families had always maintained a close relationship. Seven years ago, Li Yan married a college student two years younger than her named Yang Chuanqi. After their marriage, Yang Chuanqi resigned from his original job and left his hometown to work at Li Yan's father's company in Lingwang City, where he had always performed well.

After Li Yan's father passed away, the company was handed over to Li Yan and Yang Chuanqi to manage together. Of course, most of the shares were held by Li Yan, while her son-in-law, Yang Chuanqi, held only a very small portion.

The couple was quite loving, but about a month ago, Yang Chuanqi's temper gradually became strange. He would often go a whole day without saying a word to Li Yan, and would lock himself in his room except for work. Li Yan initially thought it was because he was under too much work pressure, so she not only didn't get angry with him, but also showed him extra care. However, Yang Chuanqi not only didn't change, but became even worse, even threatening to divorce Li Yan and demanding that she transfer all her assets and shares to his name, or he would kill her!

At this point, Li Yan, who

had calmed down a bit, began to tremble again, because she vividly remembered Zhao Xuehua's expression when he said the word "kill." He was extremely serious, definitely not joking, and he even let out a strange laugh, looking at her with icy coldness, as if he were looking at a dead person.

After saying this, Li Yan looked nervously at Madam Situ: "Aunt Situ, my husband used to be very good to me and cared about me a lot. He would never speak to me like this, let alone try to kill me. Do you think he might be possessed by a ghost? I heard you say a few days ago that a highly virtuous monk came to your house. I came here today specifically to invite this monk to my house to exorcise the ghost. I wonder if this monk would be willing to make the trip for me?" As she spoke, her watery eyes fixed on Tang Sanzang.

Tang Sanzang knew she was talking about him, but he remained unblinking, clasped his hands together, and said, "Excellent, excellent! This humble monk is very skilled at chanting scriptures to deliver the souls of the dead, but when it comes to exorcising and catching ghosts, my disciples are more adept."

"Hehe, catching ghosts is my specialty, sister, take me there right away. No matter what kind of ghost it is, I guarantee I can catch it in no time," Bajie was the first to eagerly show off.

"Possessed by a ghost?" Situ Yangguang chuckled softly. "Why don't you suspect your husband is having an affair, which is why he wants a divorce? You know, once a man's heart changes, he's capable of anything."

Li Yan denied it without hesitation. "I've thought about that too. I even hired a private investigator to look into him, but the results showed that his life was no different from before. He goes to work on time and comes home on time. Apart from some social engagements, he basically doesn't go out, let alone spend the night out. However, since a month ago, he's been sleeping in separate rooms from me." At this point, Li Yan's mood clearly dropped, and a few tears quietly fell.

"So, besides your husband's sudden change in attitude and your own suspicions, there's no other evidence to prove that your husband's sudden change in attitude was due to some abnormal event?" Situ Yangguang asked again.

"No, there is." To everyone's surprise, Li Yan shook her head, her eyes filled with a deep fear, a fear even deeper than when she spoke of Yang Chuanqi's intention to kill her: "His attitude has changed along with

his diet. He never used to eat raw food, but a month ago he started eating raw meat. At first it was half-cooked, then it became completely raw, and his appetite is getting bigger and bigger. Now he eats almost two pounds of raw meat every night, bloody meat, it's terrifying! I really don't know how he can eat it!" As she said this, a hint of hesitation appeared in Li Yan's panicked eyes. Although it was only a hint, Wukong caught it. He lightly tapped the table, making a soft sound, but to Li Yan's ears, it was like a thunderclap, startling her so much that she jumped up from her chair.

Wukong said to Li Yan, "Miss Li, I hope you can tell us everything you know, otherwise it will be difficult for us to help you."

His words and his gaze were irresistible, and Li Yan unconsciously opened her mouth and said, "And another time, I..." She seemed to find the next words difficult to accept, unsure how to begin. After a long while, she mustered her courage, blushing, and gritted her teeth, saying, "Once, I heard moans coming from his room, from both a man and a woman, but I remember clearly that

no woman had ever been to his house. How could there be a woman in his room? So I secretly opened his unlocked door."

"What did you see?" Bajie asked with interest. Bajie, of course, wanted to know more about such a sensual scene.

"I didn't see anything. I fainted as soon as I opened the door. When I woke up, I was already in the living room. Later, my husband warned me that I was not allowed to go into his room again, otherwise I wouldn't be so lucky this time." After saying this, Li Yan asked again, "Aunt Situ, is my husband possessed by a ghost?"

"Possessed by a ghost?" Mrs. Situ smiled at Li Yan and said, "Li Yan, there's something you need to understand. Although there are indeed many things and creatures in this world that ordinary people don't know or understand, there are no ghosts in this world. I can assure you that with absolute certainty." "

No ghosts? But my husband's situation really seems like he's possessed?" Perhaps it was because she had heard too many stories about ghosts and spirits since she was a child, coupled with a series of strange events, that Li Yan was willing to attribute everything to an unknown ghost.

Madam Situ shook her finger and said, "Perhaps it's the work of a demon, or perhaps some evil magic; either is possible." Then, turning to the bewildered Li Yan, she said, "What you think of as ghosts are the souls of the dead, right? That's right. There is indeed a soul within the human body. Everyone is a combination of body and soul, complementing each other. Without a soul, the body dies; similarly, once the body dies, the soul quickly dissipates and can no longer exist in the world. So-called ghosts are nothing but a fabrication of ignorant people."

Although Li Yan understood Madam Situ's words, her mind was currently... Completely unable to think, she nervously asked, "I don't care if he's a ghost or a demon, I just want my husband back to normal. Master, you must help me! As for the money, that's easy to talk about; just name your price."

Wukong considered for a moment, then looked up and smiled, "Let's not talk about money; I have no interest in it. However, I can't confirm what's wrong with your husband right now. I'd like to go to your house first; maybe I can find some clues. But it would be best if your husband wasn't home. I don't want to meet him without knowing anything."

“No problem, he works at the company during the day. Shall we go now?” Li Yan asked anxiously. This strange situation had been tormenting her for far too long, to the point that she was almost driven to the brink of collapse. She desperately wanted her husband to return to normal and their loving life back then.

“Brother, why do you need to personally handle such a small matter? I, Old Pig, can handle it all by myself,” Pigsy volunteered.

“Hey, what’s wrong with you today, you lazy pig? Usually, when I ask you to do something, you either make excuses or slack off halfway through. Today, you’re actually volunteering to help catch a ghost? Has the sun risen in the west today?” Wukong said with a laugh.

Pigsy smiled sheepishly and said, “People improve, brother. Don’t look at people with old eyes. Right, Master?” Pigsy turned to ask Tang Sanzang.

"Yes, yes, Wukong, since Bajie is willing to go, you should grant his wish. As the saying goes, a prodigal son who returns is more precious than gold. Bajie's awareness shows that my usual teachings to him are still effective. Bajie, you must not

let your master down. Do this well and make Wukong regain his confidence in you, understand? Sha Wujing, Xiaobai, Bajie is weak alone, you should all go together. More people, more things will be easier," Tang Sanzang instructed.

"Master, I can go alone," Bajie said

, greatly displeased with Tang Sanzang's arrangement. "What I have decided is not to be changed, Bajie. Don't you even listen to your master?" Tang Sanzang said sternly.

"Yes, of course I will listen to my master!" Bajie replied helplessly. He thought he could spend some time alone with this beauty, and perhaps there would be unexpected developments. His great plan was ruined by his master. The old monk really doesn't understand romance.

April 25th,
Chapter 226:

The three of them, Pigsy, Sandy, and Little White, sped along the road in Li Yan's "BMW" sedan. It was Little White's first time riding in a car, and he was very curious about the smooth and comfortable mode of transportation, bombarding Pigsy with questions. Pigsy, with an air of maturity, introduced everything to them, thoroughly enjoying the admiring gazes of Little White and Old Sandy.

The car stopped; they had arrived at Li Yan's residence, a detached three-story villa, luxurious and grand, with a garden of one or two thousand square meters—truly befitting a multi-millionaire's home.

After getting out of the car, Sandy didn't immediately go inside. Instead, he gripped his demon-subduing staff tightly, cautiously surveying the luxurious villa.

Sandy's demon-subduing staff had a unique characteristic: as long as Sandy activated his demon-subduing divine power and became one with the staff, any demonic energy within 500 meters would be impossible to hide from. At this moment, Sha Wujing silently recited the demon-subduing incantation, achieving perfect harmony between his mind and the demon-subduing staff. Suddenly, a scene appeared before

him , different from before. The villa was still the same villa, but it was shrouded in a layer of hazy mist, impervious to wind and light, as if it had become one with the villa.

Sha Wujing's relaxed expression gradually turned serious. His little white dog, with its keen sense of smell, stared intently at the villa, seemingly sensing something.

Meanwhile, Zhu Bajie, looking cheerful, followed Li Yan into the house.

"Master, what tools did you use to exorcise the ghost? I noticed you didn't bring any talismans or peach wood sword. Could you really catch a ghost with your bare hands?" Li Yan asked疑惑地问道.

"Hehe, what tools do I need to deal with a mere brat? My two hands are more than enough! Let me tell you, I have a unique weapon, the Nine-Toothed Rake, truly an invincible weapon. One strike and it's guaranteed to leave nine bloody holes. All demons and monsters tremble in fear. But I don't usually use it lightly," Bajie boasted.

"Really? Then this time it's all up to you!" Li Yan smiled at Bajie.

Under Li Yan's expectant

gaze, Sha Wujing entered carrying the Demon-Subduing Staff. He wanted to see what this thing was, leaving such a strong demonic aura in this place.

After following Li Yan into the room, a woman around fifty years old greeted them: "Madam, you're back. And these gentlemen are..." She was referring to Bajie and the others.

“This is my housekeeper, Aunt Hong,” Li Yan said to Aunt Hong after introducing them to Bajie and the others. “These are my friends. I brought them here to sit for a while. You can go back to your work.”

Aunt Hong glanced at them curiously and turned to leave, but Sha Wujing stopped her: “Wait.” Then he said to Li Yan, “Mrs. Li, how long has Aunt Hong been working here?” As he spoke, his eyes were fixed on Aunt Hong, his gaze sharp and piercing, making her feel uncomfortable.

Li Yan didn’t understand why Sha Wujing would be interested in Aunt Hong, but she still answered, “Aunt Hong has been here for almost seven years. My husband and I hired her as our housekeeper not long after we got married, and she’s always done a great job. Master, is there something wrong?” As she said this, she felt a pang in her heart. She clutched her chest in disbelief and said,

“Could it be that Aunt Hong…”

Sha Wujing didn’t hide anything and nodded directly, then said, “Then she must have been tricked later!”

Before Li Yan and the others could understand what he meant, Sha Wujing held up his demon-subduing staff, aimed it at the unsuspecting Aunt Hong, and muttered incantations. At the same moment of aiming, a beam of red light emitted from the tip of the Demon-Subduing Staff, detaching from the staff and shooting towards Aunt Hong. The red light flowed like water, eventually covering Aunt Hong's entire body.

Aunt Hong, who had been completely unaware, suddenly wailed, writhing in agony within the red light's embrace, as if in great pain. A layer of gray gas gradually rose above her head. When this gas was completely drawn from her body, Aunt Hong's eyes rolled back, and she fainted. The red light reflected on her body also vanished.

Sha Wujing casually drew the gray gas floating in the air into the staff, sneering, "To think of planting demonic energy in an ordinary person, you're quite clever." With that, he completely absorbed the gas into the staff.

"Master, this…this…" Li Yan was at a loss for words, simply staring blankly at the unconscious Aunt Hong.

Mrs. Li, don't be afraid. Aunt Hong is a normal person, not a monster. Someone just planted demonic energy in her. This energy won't affect her normal mind; it will only make her subconsciously act according to the wishes of the person who planted the energy, which is why you can't detect it. However, I can't figure out who planted this energy or what their purpose was. Sha Wujing put away his demon-subduing staff and said, "Let's go, let's go see your husband's room."

Everything was beyond Li Yan's comprehension. She was overwhelmed by the events and had no idea what to do. She could only follow Sha Wujing's instructions. After reaching the second floor, she pointed to a tightly closed door and said, "This is his bedroom now." Before even reaching the door ,

a nauseating stench assaulted their nostrils, though ordinary people couldn't detect it. Sha Wujing frowned, using his spiritual energy to create a protective shield around himself, isolating the odor before entering. Xiao Bai, however, didn't care and went in with Bajie, leaving Li Yan outside.

The room was quite clean, completely different from the

stench . Sha Wujing walked to the double bed and lifted the covers, revealing several long strands of hair tangled on the pillow—presumably a woman's.

Li Yan had said her husband forbade her from entering this room, and one night she overheard him with another woman. Undoubtedly, the hair belonged to that unknown woman. How did she get here?

As Sha Wujing walked to the window, the question was answered. This was only the second floor; climbing up would be easy—not for an ordinary woman, of course. Bajie, however, stared intently at the covers, imagining Li Yan and her husband's intimate moments, his mind wandering.

"Little White, did you find anything?" The door had been closed when they came in, so Sha Wujing could speak to Little White without worrying about being discovered.

Little White pondered for a moment and said, "The person isn't here, what could I find? At most, I could only sense some lingering demonic energy, not too strong. You should be able to handle it. However, there are two things I don't understand."

Little White was quite serious when it came to business.

"Oh? What are the problems?" Sha Wujing asked with interest. He had only asked casually, but he hadn't expected Little White to actually discover something.

Little White nimbly leaped onto the large, soft bed, not caring whether her feet would get the blankets dirty, and started walking around on the bed.

"First, I discovered two kinds of demonic energy left here. Although they are similar, they are definitely not from the same person. So, besides Li Yan's husband, there is another demon. Actually, this problem also involves another question: why did Li Yan's husband suddenly change? Was he possessed by a demon, or is he a demon himself?"

Sha Wujing listened and nodded. After Xiao Bai finished speaking, he said with a grin, "Not bad, you've learned to analyze problems. It seems that these past few years at Leiyin Temple haven't been wasted. You've not only learned a lot, but your brain has also become smarter." He added a sentence that made Xiao Bai want to vomit blood: "A promising young man!"

A promising young man? He's actually quite old!

"Xiao Bai's analysis makes a lot of sense. Second Brother, what do you

think ?" Sha Wujing asked.

Bajie was indulging in blissful fantasies, imagining himself as Li Yan's husband, when he heard Sha Wujing's question. He replied irrelevantly, "I think the blankets on this bed should be pink; this bright red is too tacky."

Xiao Bai, knowing Bajie's mind had wandered again, chuckled and asked, "Second Brother, what are you thinking about?"

Chapter 227 Cold Gaze

Bajie saw Sha Wujing and Xiao Bai chuckling and joined in, saying, "What were you two talking about? Both of you are laughing; something's definitely up." Sha Wujing said, "We weren't talking about anything funny. Xiao Bai was analyzing whether Li Yan's husband, Yang Chuanqi, was a demon or possessed by one." "And what was

the result of that discussion?" Bajie asked curiously.

"No result yet, just analysis," Sha Wujing said.

"Heh, isn't that a waste of time? It's like saying nothing at all. Luckily I didn't join in; it was a complete waste of time. You two discuss it here; I'm going to go find Li Yan and find out what's going on." Bajie was disappointed and wanted to sneak out to see Li Yan alone. Xiao Bai, of course, knew his true intentions. He smiled and said, "Understand the situation? Second Brother, you probably have ulterior motives, don't you?"

Bajie steadied himself and said with an awkward smile, "Oh dear, Xiao Bai, you really like to judge others by your own petty standards. Do you think I, Old Pig, am such a person who doesn't care about the big picture? Xiao Bai, continue your analysis."

Xiao Bai

didn't care and smiled, saying, "The second question is, why does Li Yan's husband insist that Li Yan transfer her assets to him? You know, he's not a normal person anymore. Having money isn't difficult for him. Robbing banks, robbing jewelry, he can do all that. I believe no one can beat him. But why does he insist on properties under Li Yan's name? Is there something in them that interests him?"

"That's possible." Bajie nodded in agreement with Xiao Bai's analysis, but soon he suddenly changed to a joking expression: "Maybe he's like me, he doesn't like illegal profits, but prefers money earned through his own efforts?"

"Go to hell! A lazy pig like you dares to say he likes earning money through his own efforts?" Xiao Bai grabbed a pillow and threw it at Bajie. Bajie caught the pillow, laughing and cursing, "Is it strange? I used to be the big boss of the Century Club! When I was making big money, you guys were still chanting wooden fish at Leiyin Temple!" He then retaliated by throwing the pillow back.

In an instant, the two of them threw whatever they could find, making a complete mess of the room.

Sha Wujing, exasperated, shouted, "What are you two doing? Are you trying to destroy things? Stop it!"

The two finally stopped. "Sorry, I threw the pillow first. I'll clean it up," Xiaobai said, looking at the chaotic scene of the battle.

Sha Wujing smiled nonchalantly, "No need to clean it up. After I deal with Yang Chuanqi, I'll have Li Yan throw everything away. Most of it is tainted with demonic energy and can't be used by anyone, otherwise it will cause a serious illness." Sha Wujing knew far more about such matters than Bajie.

"So what do we do now?" Bajie asked.

Zhang Yu grabbed Xiao Bai's ear and pulled him off the bed: "What else can we do? Of course, we wait for Yang Chuanqi to come back, then quickly deal with him and leave. Let's go, let's go out first. I bet Li Yan is getting impatient after waiting for so long." Sure enough,

as soon as they went out, Li Yan came up to them, anxiously asking, "Master, how did it go? Are you confident in dealing with that monster that's been bothering my husband?"

"I'm not without confidence, but this monster isn't an ordinary one. It's

incredibly powerful. It'll take us a lot of effort to catch it." Bajie deliberately exaggerated, even though he hadn't even seen a glimpse of the monster.

"Then I'll trouble the three masters to take care of it!" Li Yan looked at Bajie with expectant eyes.

"We're fairly confident, but we'll have to see your husband first." Seeing Li Yan trembling, Sha Wujing comforted her, "Li Yan, don't worry. Now that we've gotten involved in this case, we'll definitely complete it. And I'll ensure your safety; you can rest assured."

Li Yan grasped Sha Wujing's hand like a lifeline, "Then I'll leave everything to you, Master. I really don't know what to do." Sha Wujing, startled, quickly pulled his hand away from Li Yan's smooth, delicate grasp, his face flushed, and said, "Don't worry, we're here!" Pigsy, standing nearby, said sourly, "Brother Sha, you've become the main character? Even Second Brother is standing aside?"

"No, no! Second Brother is the main character today; I'm just assisting," Sha Wujing said timidly. Bajie was secretly pleased and chuckled, saying, "Of course, I'm your eldest brother,

so you can follow my orders. Brother Sha, tell Li Yan what to do next."

"Mrs. Li, after this is all settled, nothing in your husband's room can be left behind; it must all be burned, otherwise it will do you no good." After Li Yan nodded in acknowledgment, Sha Wujing added, "There's something I need to make clear to you first." This time, his tone was extremely serious.

"What is it?" Li Yan also sensed something was amiss, stopping at the top of the stairs, her full breasts heaving.

Sha Wujing sighed and said, "If your husband is merely possessed by a demon, that's fine. I can subdue the demon, and everything will be alright. But if there are other circumstances that prevent your husband from returning to normal, then there's only one way: kill him!"

The last three words were spoken by Sha Wujing with both cruelty and compassion. These two words are both contradictory and complementary; when cruelty is for the sake of compassion, then cruelty is no longer cruelty.

Upon hearing the word "kill," Li Yan's legs went weak and she couldn't stand. If Pigsy hadn't caught her in time, she would have tumbled down the stairs. After

the initial shock, tears began to fall, streaming down her face, which, though not young, was still beautiful. After crying for a while, she pleaded, "Master, is there really no other way but to kill him? My husband and I actually have a very good relationship. I really, really don't want to watch him die!"

"Mrs. Li, don't be too sad. We don't know the full story yet. Your husband might not die. I'm just telling you the worst-case scenario so you can prepare yourself," Sha Wujing comforted her.

"Yes, yes, things haven't even started yet, and you're already crying like this. It's pitiful," Bajie said, supporting Li Yan. Seeing her tear-streaked face, he wanted to wipe her tears with his sleeve.

Xiaobai watched impatiently as Zhu Bajie comforted Li Yan. People are so weak and troublesome, especially women. All they do is cry. So what if she dies? What's there to be sad about? Besides, it's not like she died herself.

Actually, Xiaobai's thoughts weren't wrong. That's how it is in the demon realm. Begging and crying are useless. Everything depends on strength. No

one pities those without strength when they die.

After a long time, they finally comforted Li Yan and went downstairs. Aunt Hong had already woken up. She didn't remember anything that had happened and thought she had suddenly fainted. Li Yan, at Sha Wujing's prompting, didn't say much and just told her to go do her own thing.

As the time drew near, it was almost time for Yang Chuanqi to get off work. Sha Wujing closed his eyes and slowly expanded his spiritual sense from himself as the center. At his current level, the limit of his spiritual sense was a radius of 500 meters; any further and he couldn't go any further.

A few minutes later, Sha Wujing moved, his tightly closed eyes suddenly opening. Here it comes! That power, which was not of normal human origin, was almost at the villa.

Xiao Bai guessed something from Sha Wujing's expression. He excitedly stood up, but before he could do anything, Sha Wujing whispered to him, "Don't be impulsive, stay still and don't move."

Hearing Sha Wujing's instruction, Xiao Bai obediently stayed still. However, he pricked up his ears and listened carefully to the movements outside.

For Yang Chuanqi, who was driving, 500 meters was only a minute or two's journey. In

this time, Sha Wujing gripped the Demon-Subduing Staff tightly in his hand, held it out horizontally, and pointed it towards the door. The moment Yang Chuanqi walked in, Sha Wujing had already sensed him through the Demon-Subduing Staff.

Coldness—that was Sha Wujing's first impression of him. Not his expression, but his very soul—a cold soul, seemingly devoid of any warmth or emotion.

Hmm? There were no signs of demonic possession or entanglement on him. This left only two possibilities: either he wasn't possessed at all, or the demon possessing him was of a high level, concealing its presence.

Based on his observations, Yang Chuanqi was neither possessed nor seemed to be a demon himself. So what was it…?

Sha Wujing fell into deep thought. He couldn't figure it out for the time being. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him. Could it be that…?

With this question in mind, Sha Wujing carefully examined Yang Chuanqi again using his demon-subduing staff. The more he looked, the more likely it seemed. Things were getting increasingly interesting. A barely perceptible smile appeared on Sha Wujing's lips.

When Yang Chuanqi entered, he saw Li Yan with three unfamiliar burly men. One of the men, with a full beard, was holding a wooden staff. The men were all looking at him with complicated expressions. Yang Chuanqi's already cold gaze instantly hardened. "Who are they?" he asked Li Yan. Although he couldn't sense the presence of Sha Wujing and Bai Suzhen, it still made him uneasy. These three were definitely not ordinary people.

"They...they..." Li Yan was terrified by Yang Chuanqi's intimidating gaze, trembling and unable to utter a complete sentence. Sha Wujing smiled and said, "Mrs. Li, please step out for a moment. I'd like to speak with Mr. Yang alone; I'm sure he'll be interested to hear it."

"You want to speak with me alone? On what grounds?" Yang Chuanqi's eyes were cold, as if he wanted to devour Sha Wujing.

"On this grounds!" Sha Wujing waved his demon-subduing staff in front of Yang Chuanqi.

Chapter 228 The Demon-Subduing Staff

Li Yan dared not face Yang Chuanqi. His icy gaze was like a sharp knife, wanting to tear everyone apart. However, she was also somewhat worried about Sha Wujing and the others facing him alone. Only after Pigsy assured her that nothing would happen did she leave. On one hand, she feared that Sha Wujing and the others were no match for her husband. She had invited them back, and in the end, she too would suffer the same fate. On the other hand, she worried that her husband was no match for Sha Wujing and the others, and if they killed him, her heart would be even more tormented. Therefore, she was conflicted, turning back every step of the way as she left the living room.

Yang Chuanqi didn't stop her. After Li Yan left the living room, he stared intently at Sha Wujing and said in a deep voice, "Who exactly are you, and why are you here?"

"Me?" Sha Wujing smiled and shrugged. "I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Old Sha, who loves to meddle in other people's business. My favorite thing in life is to subdue demons. This demon-subduing staff is my weapon, specifically for capturing people like you. Oh, no, you can no longer be called human, but you're not a complete demon either. What should I call you?"

"Or you could call him a demon!" Bajie chuckled from the side. With Sha Wujing and Xiaobai by his side, Bajie felt very at ease. The three of them each possessed unique skills, so dealing with a demon shouldn't be a problem. Therefore, Bajie didn't take Yang Chuanqi seriously at all.

People with demonic or spiritual power would exude an aura that others could sense, unless they had cultivated to the point of completely concealing their aura.

Seeing that Sha Wujing had seen through him, Yang Chuanqi didn't try to argue. He slowly took off his sharp suit jacket, and the gray demonic aura around him became even stronger. A wave of killing intent surged over him, but Sha Wujing remained calmly smiling. The killing intent disappeared naturally in front of him, as if he were from another world. Meanwhile, Xiao Bai stood calmly to the side. With Sha Wujing's demon-subduing staff and the help of Zhu Bajie and himself, what was there to fear from a half-human, half-demon Yang Chuanqi?

Yang Chuanqi's expression changed slightly, and he snorted heavily, "I didn't expect that bitch Li Yan would still know to send you to deal with me, but we'll see if you have the ability!"

"Oh? You've got some nerve

, wanting to experience the feeling of having nine bloody holes ripped out of you by a rake? It's a pity I didn't bring any weapons today, but my two hands are enough to capture you! Ready to start?" Bajie looked at Yang Chuanqi with interest, patted Xiaobai's head with his left hand, and said to Yang Chuanqi, "Although you're not the main monster, I still have to subdue you. Alright, I'll play with you." After Bajie finished speaking, he got into a fighting stance, and his joking expression turned serious.

With a roar, Yang Chuanqi's muscles swelled instantly, his shirt and tie ripped apart, leaving only strips of cloth hanging on his body. His appearance became ferocious, two long fangs protruding from his lips, and his other teeth sharp as a wild beast's. His previously gentle and refined demeanor vanished in an instant.

This was demonic transformation—tearing apart a person's disguise to unleash immense power. Generally, when a demon transforms, it displays some unique characteristics of its original form, such as a tail or ears. However, Yang Chuanqi showed no such features. So, what exactly was he? At the same moment

the demonic energy erupted, a clenched

fist swung towards Pigsy, carrying a terrifying force. Pigsy was startled by Yang Chuanqi's ferocious appearance, took a few steps back, and hid behind Sandy, saying, "Brother Sandy, I didn't bring any weapons today, so this monster is yours!"

"Haha, alright, Second Brother, please step back, I, Old Sandy, will take care of it." Sandy stood still, his demon-subduing staff held out horizontally, pointing at Yang Chuanqi. A disdainful smile remained on his lips, but unfortunately, Yang Chuanqi didn't notice and was in a hurry to defeat him. Seeing Pigsy hiding behind Sandy, he was secretly pleased and said, "So you're just three good-for-nothings. If you're not capable, don't try to show off. How dare you play tricks in my house? Did that bitch Li Yan give you some benefits? Put down your boating gear and get out of this house, and I might consider letting you live. If you don't know what's good for you, then resist to the end and give up your lives!" With that, he punched Sandy.

Just as the fist was ten centimeters away from Sha Wujing's demon-subduing staff, and the force of the blow was already palpable, a

dazzling red light emanated from the tip of the staff. Yang Chuanqi's left cheek was suddenly struck by a powerful impact from the side, causing him to lose his balance and fly to the side. Sha Wujing, however, was unharmed.

"Bang! Boom!" Yang Chuanqi crashed into the stairs, the immense impact shattering the solid wood staircase, and he was crushed beneath the broken pieces.

After the blow landed, Xiao Bai chuckled and walked to Sha Wujing's side, licking his lips disdainfully, "How boring, it was over in a second." Bajie clapped and cheered, saying, "Old Sha, your demon-subduing staff is really useful, but it's a bit too domineering. It knocked him down in one go, leaving me, Old Pig, no chance to even make a move!" Sha

Wujing casually tapped Xiao Bai on the head: "Did you think the demon was so easily dealt with?" As he spoke, his eyes remained fixed on Yang Chuanqi, who was trapped motionless under the stone and wood.

"Isn't that right?" Xiao Bai retorted, unconvinced. "I just heard the sound of his bones breaking! Maybe his entire skull cracked open. You know your Demon-Subduing Staff is a legendary demon-subduing treasure; what monster could escape its grasp?" "Not necessarily!" The moment Sha Wujing uttered those words, reality proved him right. The previously quiet spot suddenly exploded, and Yang Chuanqi leaped high from within, attacking Sha Wujing once more. This time, his face presented a bizarre appearance; his left cheek was completely sunken in, making him look like someone with only half a face. However,

this time he had learned his lesson. Not only did he punch Sha Wujing, but he also unleashed a black ball of light from his mouth, targeting Xiao Bai. He wanted to see who could ambush him this time.

Sure enough, Xiao Bai was forced to retreat from Sha Wujing's side. He could only manage to get as far as before, his fist reaching the tip of the Demon-Subduing Staff, but he couldn't get any closer. A dazzling red light blocked his path between him and Sha Wujing. No matter how much he channeled his demonic power to attack the red light, it was useless. At most, it could only cause a few ripples in the red light. Yang Chuanqi was extremely frustrated. Why couldn't he hit this meddlesome bearded man?

However, what he didn't expect was yet to come. The red light that had been blocking his way actually started to move after Sha Wujing muttered something to himself

. It converged from both sides towards the center, like a seashell surrounding him.

Yang Chuanqi had never seen anything so bizarre before. He quickly jumped back, trying to escape the red light that was about to envelop him. However, just as he jumped and was still in the air, the red light suddenly accelerated its closing speed, instantly surrounding him. When he landed on the ground, he was completely surrounded by the red light. Except for his eyes and mouth, which he could move, his whole body was as if it were bound, unable to move at all.

"What do you want? Let me go! Let me go!" Yang Chuanqi shouted loudly, trapped in the red light. Since he had gained demonic power, he thought he was already very powerful. Who would have thought that this ugly man who appeared out of nowhere could freeze him in place in just a few moments, unable to move at all.

"Gotcha! Gotcha!" Seeing that Yang Chuanqi couldn't move, Xiaobai was overjoyed. "

Haha, let's see if you still dare to be so fierce!" Bajie also boldly walked to Yang Chuanqi's side, pointing and gesturing at him, mocking and scolding him.

"Second Brother, don't get too close. Be careful he doesn't do anything rash

. Let me subdue him first." Sha Wujing walked solemnly to Yang Chuanqi, who was trapped by the red light. He extended his index finger, passed through the red light, and touched Yang Chuanqi's forehead. The icy aura rushed in from his forehead and spread throughout his body. The demonic energy in his body immediately became dormant as soon as it came into contact with this aura, like a mouse encountering a cat.

A calm and solemn voice rang out from Sha Wujing: "Though seemingly a step apart, the distance between humans and demons is like this. It appears as a single step, but in reality, it's a distance of thousands of miles. Since you've chosen the identity of a demon, you're destined never to return to being human. Although it's cruel, I still have

no choice but to destroy you!" Yang Chuanqi sensed the absoluteness in Sha Wujing's words. He couldn't doubt their truthfulness, and a chill instantly surged from the depths of his heart—fear, extreme fear. This fear terrified him beyond measure. He cried out, "No, you can't kill me! Otherwise, someone won't let you go! How about this? If you let me go, I promise to leave Li Yan and never appear in Lingwang City again."

"You mean the person behind you? I'm waiting for him. Whether you leave Li Yan or Lingwang City, I

cannot promise to let you go. Not all demons should be captured, but those with malicious intent must be captured," Sha Wujing said resolutely.

"I haven't harmed anyone! Please let me go! I promise you, I will never harm humans!" Yang Chuanqi said urgently. Faced with an absolute power imbalance, he could only choose to beg for mercy.

Sha Wujing shook his head and said, "Although you haven't harmed anyone yet, you already have the intention to. If Li Yan doesn't divorce you this time and doesn't give you her assets, you will definitely kill her. So I'm sorry, I have to stop the killing with killing. I hope you won't walk this path again in your next life."

Having said this, Sha Wujing stopped talking, withdrew his hand seal, and shouted, "Separated by worlds, yet worlds apart, the Demon-Subduing Staff vanquishes evil!"

As the words "vanquish evil" were uttered, the Demon-Subduing Staff emitted a dazzling red light, rushing straight towards Yang Chuanqi.

Chapter 229 Unforgettable Experience The Demon-Subduing Staff in Sha Wujing's hand emitted a dazzling red light, slowly approaching Yang Chuanqi. "Ah! No! No!" Yang Chuanqi saw the terrifying red light getting closer and closer to him, struggling desperately to avoid it, but all his efforts were in vain. When Sha Wujing's index finger touched his forehead again, the red light melted into him, merging into his body. In an instant, the demonic energy that had been dormant within him surged outwards like a madman, seemingly about to dissipate completely. The excruciating pain of his body tore him apart, causing Yang Chuanqi to roar to the sky like a wild beast. Along with the sound, a thin wisp of demonic energy shot into the sky and vanished in an instant. Although it disappeared quickly, Sha Wujing still saw it, but he merely smiled and did not stop him. Along with the demonic energy bursting from his body, there was blood—endless, unending blood. Yang Chuanqi's body looked as if it had been ripped open countless times, with gray demonic energy and red blood spurting out together. The bright red blood shot in all directions, staining the walls, sofa, and floor with blood. The wildly escaping demonic energy was absorbed by Sha Wujing's demon-subduing staff; this was a trophy, not to be wasted. When all the demonic energy within him dissipated, Yang Chuanqi swayed like a blood-soaked figure, on the verge of collapsing. Sha Wujing stood outside the pool of blood, coldly asking, "What? Still have something to say?" Before his consciousness, which sustained his body, vanished, Yang Chuanqi uttered two sentences: "Someone will avenge me! You will die a horrible death!" Then he collapsed to the ground, lifeless, his demonic form disappearing, returning him to his ordinary appearance. However, his eyes remained open, filled with endless malevolence, as if he died with unfulfilled rage. "Alas, to die like this, what a pity. Why did he have to become a demon instead of a proper boss? He brought it upon himself!" Bajie shook his head and sighed. Sha Wujing frowned slightly and squatted down, muttering to himself as he looked at the now-corpse-like Yang Chuanqi, "The moment I saw you, I knew there was someone far more powerful behind you. You wouldn't have ended up like this; he's the one who brought you to this. Don't worry, even if he hadn't come looking for me, I would have. He's the real culprit!" He then reached out and closed Yang Chuanqi's eyes. If it weren't for the blood covering him, he would have looked like he was asleep. Although he had fulfilled Li Yan's request, Sha Wujing's mood was heavy, not happy. It was too late. If he had discovered it sooner, perhaps he could have helped Yang Chuanqi eliminate his demonic aura and return to humanity, instead of having only the option of killing him now.

Xiao Bai seemed to sense Sha Wujing's somewhat gloomy mood. He patted Sha Wujing's shoulder to comfort him. Despite their constant bickering and occasional internal strife, their relationship was actually very good.

Sha Wujing usually appeared honest and unassuming, often playing the role of a submissive wife in front of Tang Sanzang. However, when subduing irredeemable demons, he was ruthless,

killing them without hesitation.

Yet, his heart was actually quite soft, often feeling guilty and saddened by such actions. In his eyes, whether demon or human, they were all lives, just living in different ways.

His inability to achieve higher levels of cultivation, never reaching the level of his senior brother Sun Wukong, might be partly due to this soft heart. At least in his knowledge, those who possessed the Demon-Subduing Staff were ruthless towards demons, good or bad; all demons deserved to die, even if it meant killing a thousand or ten thousand without batting an eye, let alone feeling guilty.

However, it was precisely because of Sha Wujing's difference that Xiao Bai respected him even more. In his mind, Sha Wujing was no longer just a golden-bodied Arhat with a demon-subduing staff; he was also a human being with flesh and blood.

Just as Xiao Bai was about to comfort him, Sha Wujing had already adjusted his mindset and stood up. When he saw Xiao Bai's worried eyes, he smiled and stroked Xiao Bai's head, saying, "I'm fine. I was just feeling a bit emotional. Alright, now that things here are settled, we should

report back to Li Yan."

Li Yan was outside, and she kept hearing louder and louder noises coming from inside. But she always remembered Sha Wujing's words and stubbornly resisted coming in or looking inside. She just paced anxiously outside until Bajie called her. Only then did she rush in. When she saw Yang Chuanqi lying lifeless in a pool of blood, she gasped in shock and collapsed to the ground, almost fainting. Pigsy, quick as a flash, rushed forward to support Li Yan's slender waist. The warmth and softness of her skin stirred countless thoughts within him.

Sandy approached Li Yan and whispered, "Li Yan, I'm so sorry. I didn't want this to happen, but your husband, Yang Chuanqi, has been a demon for a long time. It's impossible for him to become human again. So I have no choice but to do this. I hope you can grieve in moderation and not be too heartbroken!"

Li Yan stared blankly at Sandy for a moment, then looked at the motionless Yang Chuanqi. Tears streamed down her face. Ignoring the bloodstains covering her body and the ground, she threw herself onto Yang Chuanqi's body and wept bitterly, repeatedly calling his name, "Chuanqi! Chuanqi!"

Although her husband Yang Chuanqi had treated her

terribly and threatened to kill her, their relationship had been wonderful. Now that Yang Chuanqi was dead, Li Yan recalled the happy days they had shared, and her heart ached terribly.

After crying for a while, she finally calmed down a bit and stood up to bow to Sha Wujing, saying, "Master, there's no need to apologize. I should be thanking you. I understand that you wouldn't have killed him if it weren't for unavoidable circumstances. He only has himself to blame." As she spoke, her nose stung again. Looking at the dead Yang Chuanqi, Li Yan felt a tangled mess in her heart and couldn't help but ask, "Master, what should I do now? He was perfectly fine, but now he's suddenly dead. What should I do?"

Bajie had been in the mortal realm for some time and was quite experienced in this matter. He suggested, "Li Yan, call the police station and say that your home was robbed and your husband was killed. Then we'll leave before the police arrive. What do you think?"

Li Yan nodded and said, "That's a good idea. I'll call the police." She then

called She didn't have any better ideas and could only do as Bajie suggested. After explaining the situation, the police said someone would come to handle it immediately. Seeing that things were settled, Sha Wujing bid farewell to Li Yan, saying, "Li Yan, there's nothing more for us here. We should go now. If you need anything else, feel free to come to the Situ family's house anytime. We've been staying there for the time being."

"Thank you so much, I'm truly grateful," Li Yan said emotionally. "I'll write you a check for 100,000 yuan as a token of my gratitude. Please come visit me at my home sometime."

"No need, we monks have no use for money," Sha Wujing refused outright.

"I will definitely visit you again, Miss Li Yan, when I have time," Zhu Bajie said with a smile.

"Welcome, you're most welcome!" Li Yan said with a smile.

Sha Wujing nodded and prepared to leave with Xiaobai. Before leaving, he suddenly turned back and asked, "Li Yan, there's something I don't quite understand. You said your husband, Yang Chuanqi, asked you to transfer your assets to him. May I ask, what kind of assets did Mr. Li leave you? Why would

Yang Chuanqi, who has become a demon, be interested in them?"

Li Yan's pupils contracted for a moment, then returned to normal. She said, "I don't know. Besides the company and the house, my father left me some antiques, and that's it. Maybe he was interested in the company my father left behind. It's a company with a production value of tens of millions."

Sha Wujing lowered his head and said softly, "Perhaps!" Then he walked out of the villa without looking back. Since Yang Chuanqi was dead, the demonic aura outside the villa disappeared, and everything returned to normal.

Once outside, seeing that there was no one around, Xiaobai suddenly spoke up, "Hey, don't you think Li Yan acted a little strange when she answered you just now? It was like she wasn't saying something. I think there's something odd about her!"

Sha Wujing didn't think anything of it: "Maybe she has something valuable or something she can't tell others. After all, we're just outsiders. It's normal for her not to tell us the truth. Why worry so much? Let's hurry and get a ride back; we'll be busy tonight!"

They hadn't driven themselves here, but had hitched a ride with Li Yan. However, Li Yan was currently grieving over Yang Chuanqi's death, so they had no other transportation and had to walk. This was a luxury villa area; few cars passed by on weekdays, and taxis were even rarer.

"Tonight? What are we busy with tonight?" Xiaobai was confused by Sha Wujing's abrupt question, unable to recall anything else for the evening.

Sha Wujing, however, remained tight-lipped, only saying that they would find out later.

Xiaobai, feeling rebuffed, snorted and turned away, thinking to herself: Fine, I won't ask. Who cares? But after walking for a while, he got bored and couldn't help but talk to Sha Wujing: "But speaking of which, why didn't you take a single penny from her this time? She has plenty of money anyway. We caught the monster for her, so we put in the work; it's only right that we get a little service fee."

Sha Wujing rolled his eyes at him and said irritably, "When did you become so greedy, Little White? We monks are at home wherever we go, without desires or wants. What use are worldly things to us? Besides, this matter isn't over yet

!"

"Not over yet?" Little White repeated these words blankly. He was about to ask why when he suddenly remembered Sha Wujing's conversation with Yang Chuanqi and recalled that he had said he would be busy that night. He immediately understood what was going on. Little White fell silent and followed closely beside Sha Wujing home.

Pigsy, on the other hand, was all smiles. As he walked, he savored the wonderful feeling of supporting Li Yan's slender waist, and a smile involuntarily appeared on his lips.

Chapter 230 The shadowy figure

had no choice but to shut his mouth, because he knew that if he made another sound, it would only excite Tang Sanzang more and cause him to spit out even more saliva.

While listening, Wukong occasionally uttered "uh-huh" or "hmm." After Sha Wujing finished recounting the story, he gave a concluding remark: "Hmm, your observation is probably correct. There must be an even more powerful demon behind Yang Chuanqi. It was this demon who modified Yang Chuanqi, turning him into a human-bodied demon. Now that Yang Chuanqi is dead, you said he might have passed a message to that person before he died. In that case, that person will definitely come looking for revenge, right?"

Sha Wujing said, "Revenge is natural, but the first person he'll look for shouldn't be me!"

"Not you? Then who could it be? You're the one who killed Yang Chuanqi! Who else would he look for if not you?" As he said the last word, Bajie suddenly realized something, his voice changing as he hurriedly asked, "You're not talking about Li Yan, are you?"

"Who else could it be but her!" Sha Wujing scoffed.

Wukong slowly and methodically typed on the keyboard. Since learning to use the internet, he had also learned to type. Although

his typing speed was very, very slow, Wukong found it novel and enjoyed it immensely.

"Since you knew Li Yan was in danger, why did you come back? Do you want to kill her?" Bajie's furious voice interrupted Sha Wujing's words. Sha Wujing turned to look at Bajie with some helplessness: "Don't worry, how could I let her die? It's daytime now. Demons are yin energy beings, and they prefer to act at night. If we had captured Yang Chuanqi at night, it wouldn't have been so easy."

"But why do you think the demon would kill Li Yan first?" Bajie asked again.

"There's no reason why, it's just because I guessed that the demon was a woman!" Then Sha Wujing recounted the discovery of a woman's hair on Yang Chuanqi's bed: "That female demon, for some unknown reason, entangled herself with Yang Chuanqi, using her demonic energy to transform him into her demon slave. Then she forced him to divorce Li Yan, and even threatened to kill her. This shows that she considered Yang Chuanqi her private possession and wouldn't allow any other woman to touch him. Now that Yang Chuanqi is dead, although he died at my hands, it was Li Yan who entrusted me to collect him. With this connection, she must hate

Li Yan to death. If nothing unexpected happens, she will make her move tonight. As for me, I'll take advantage of the time I still have to rest for a while and catch her red-handed tonight."

"Demon slaves..." After listening to the analysis, Wukong's attention returned to this term: "Turning a person into a demon slave isn't easy. I've heard this method hasn't been used for a long time, and even the method itself should be known to very few demons. How did she know it? Transforming a demon slave not only requires consuming a large amount of the transmuter's demonic power, but also requires giving half of one's life force to them. It seems this female demon really likes Yang Chuanqi, otherwise she wouldn't do this. Brother Sha, you'd better be careful." Wukong said, "Humans transformed into demon slaves are quite novel. I'm going to post this news online and see what everyone thinks about this matter." Wukong turned on his computer and posted the news online. During this time, he had learned to use the computer and the internet from Situ Yu, and Wukong liked to share some interesting things online with everyone.

"It's alright, it's alright. I'm confident I can handle a monster." Sha Wujing stood up, yawned, and said to Bajie and Xiaobai, "I'm going to

rest now. We still have work to do tonight. You two have fun here, but don't bother me. Xiaobai, you better conserve your energy, don't hold me back."

After resting, Xiaobai had almost recovered. He stood up, but his stomach growled uncooperatively. He said to Sha Wujing with dissatisfaction, "I'm starving after walking around for so long. Get me something to eat, or I won't have the strength later, don't blame me!"

Hearing this, Sha Wujing also felt a little hungry and said, "Bajie, go to the kitchen and see what we can eat to fill our stomachs." Bajie

was always very enthusiastic about food. Hearing Sha Wujing say this, he jumped up from the ground and said, "I'm also very hungry. I really have to go see if there's anything to eat. I'll let everyone know later." After saying that, he ran to the kitchen.

"That means you're out of food. Unless there's enough in the kitchen," Wukong said with a laugh. He knew Bajie too well; he would never come back to inform everyone until he had filled his own belly. Humans

transformed into demon

slaves?

A man sat in front of his computer, opened the post Wukong had just made, and smiled with interest after browsing through its contents. He hadn't expected that there were still demons in the human world who knew how to transform into demon slaves. However, what intrigued him most was the person who posted the message. He said he heard it from a friend, but Wukong guessed it was his own experience. Therefore, this person's identity was questionable; in any case, he was definitely not an ordinary person.

Just as the man was wondering about Wukong's identity, a kind-looking woman walked in: "Wu Nai, what are you doing?"

"Nothing, Mom." The man named Wu Nai quickly closed the webpage, then stood up and helped the woman sit down. Just then, his expression suddenly changed, and he flicked his right finger swiftly behind the woman. Instantly, an invisible gust of wind shot out from between his fingers, seemingly hitting something. The woman was completely unaware of this, only looking at her son with loving eyes.

"You didn't go to work again today, are you okay?" the woman asked worriedly. "Actually, Mom is fine, nothing's wrong

. You don't need to stay home with me every fifteenth of the month. If you keep taking leave, it's hard to explain to the company."

Wu Nai smiled and held the woman's hand, saying, "Mom, don't worry, my boss is a very nice person, he won't blame me. You're always particularly weak on the fifteenth of the month. What if you faint or something happens if I'm not by your side? There's no one at home to take care of you!"

The woman looked at her grown-up son and smiled with relief, "Mom knows you're good to me, but it's really hard on you. It's just that your father died early, and you've had to support the family since you were little. I'm so sorry."

"No, Mom, don't say that. Having you as my mother is the happiest thing in the world." He suddenly remembered something, "Mom, shall we go out to eat like we always do today? What do you want to eat?"

The woman smiled gently, "You always say you want to eat out. Is my cooking not good enough?"

“Nothing tastes better than Mom’s cooking. I just don’t want Mom to work so hard every day.” Wu Nai looked at his mother with eyes full of longing and…fear? Yes, fear, a fear hidden deep in his eyes.

The woman nodded helplessly. Her greatest pride in life was having this son. Although she was fifty years old, time hadn’t left many marks on her face; her youthful beauty could still be seen in her features.

After they left, sunlight streamed in through the window. In the sunlight, several shadowy figures slowly appeared in the empty room, but these figures quickly turned into wisps of smoke and disappeared.

Around ten o’clock that night, the morgue of the city’s First Hospital was eerily quiet. Of course, it was quiet; it was full of dead people.

Uncle Zeng was the morgue guard. He had been working there for over ten years, patrolling several times every night with a flashlight. This night was no exception. Several bodies had just been brought in and would be cremated the next day. He heard that one of them had been a prominent figure in life.

The morgue wasn't that big, and he quickly

walked around it. Just as Uncle Zeng was about to lock the door and go back, the corner of his flashlight swept across the window and he saw what looked like a figure inside.

Chapter 231 Unresolvable Hatred

The figure in the window startled Uncle Zeng, who was on patrol.

"Who is it?" Zeng Bo hissed, gripping his flashlight tightly as he stood outside the window. Although he had lived among corpses for a long time, seeing a standing figure suddenly appear among them in the dead of night still filled him with unprecedented fear. A chill ran down his spine. Could it be a corpse explosion? A resurrection? The thought made Zeng Bo almost instinctively want to run.

But then he thought it unlikely. He had been watching over corpses here for over a decade; if he were going to explode, he would have done it long ago. Perhaps it was a relative of someone who had just died coming to see them one last time.

This thought emboldened Zeng Bo slightly. He swallowed hard, went to the door, pushed open the unlocked door, and went inside. In the beam of his flashlight, the figure was still standing there, motionless, not even reacting to Zeng Bo's entrance, just staring fixedly at a lifeless corpse.

As he approached, Zeng Bo's dim eyes gradually made out the figure. It was a very young and beautiful woman with fair skin and rosy lips. Because she kept her head down, he couldn't see her eyes, but he imagined they must be large and bright.

Recognizing the figure, Zeng Bo breathed a sigh of relief. Among the corpses here, there wasn't a girl like this, meaning it wasn't a case of a corpse exploding. He had been quite frightened.

Knowing the figure wasn't a corpse exploding, Zeng Bo immediately regained his composure, his expression relaxing. He walked over and said, "Miss, why aren't you going home so late? This place is filled with deathly energy. A young girl like you shouldn't stay here any longer. You

should go home quickly." She kept her head down, but she clearly heard Zeng Bo's words, replying, "My beloved is dead, lying right here. You know, we finally managed to be together, and we were about to live together forever, but a woman and three men cruelly ruined us." "He's dead! I hate it! I hate it so much! I want to kill them all!" Her voice

was shrill as she spoke the last few sentences, like nails scraping against iron, making one's ears ache. Zeng Bo assumed she was just venting her anger from grief and tried to persuade her, "Miss, the dead can't be brought back to life. Try to think more positively. We're closing up here; you should leave." This time, the woman didn't respond, but kept repeating her words of hatred and murder. To Zeng Bo, she seemed somewhat erratic, like a madwoman. "Miss, please leave!" he said again. Seeing that the woman still didn't move, he grew impatient and took a few steps forward to pull her away. His stillness was a good thing; the moment he moved, the woman reacted immediately, raising her head, which had been hanging low, and Zeng Bo finally saw her eyes. "Oh my god! A ghost!" he screamed, collapsing to the ground with a thud, his legs trembling uncontrollably. He dropped the flashlight, its beam spinning wildly. Her eyes were indeed large, but they were entirely white, without pupils. And the moment she looked up, dark lines visibly crept across her once fair face, making it appear sinister and terrifying. "Ghost...ghost...monster..." Zeng Wangbo stammered, trying to escape but unable to muster any strength in his limbs, collapsing to the ground as the monstrous woman drew ever closer. Besides several black markings on her face, she had sprouted whiskers on each cheek, ears on her head, and even a long tail, resembling a common household animal—a cat. And indeed, she was a cat demon. She slowly approached Zeng Bo, her fingernails, sharpened to a full inch long the moment she mutated. She crouched down, staring at the terrified Wangbo, her tongue slowly licking her fingernails: "Humans, I hate all humans! I want you all dead, all of you dead! You'll be the first!" A long finger pinned Zeng Bo down. Zeng Bo tried to beg for mercy, but to his horror, he found himself unable to make a sound. Before he could react, he suddenly felt a chill in his chest, followed by a sharp pain. Looking down, he saw that, without him noticing, the hand with sharp nails had completely pierced his chest. A agonizing pain throbbed within him, but Zeng Bo couldn't utter a sound. He could only watch helplessly as the hand was suddenly pulled from his chest, followed by gushing blood. The last thing Zeng Bo saw before he died was that hand holding a still-beating heart—the very heart that had been ripped from his chest. The cat demon coldly stared at the warm heart in her hand, showing no intention of eating it. She stood up, her long tail trailing behind her. She went to Yang Chuanqi's side, then with a sudden burst of strength, crushed the still-beating heart into a bloody pulp: "Chuanqi, I will avenge you! Kill that woman, and those three stinking men! Tear their hearts out! Hahaha! Hahaha!" Her laughter grew louder and louder, and with each intensified laugh, the morgue began to shake as if in an earthquake. Then the roof began to collapse, and pieces of debris rained down; it seemed the entire morgue would soon crumble. Her maniacal laughter attracted the attention of others in the hospital. Several people, flashlights in hand, approached. Hearing the growing footsteps, the cat demon's laughter ceased, a glint of fire flashing in her all-white eyes. Then, she picked up Yang Chuanqi's body and leaped out of the window, disappearing into the night before anyone could catch a glimpse of her. And the morgue... After she left, the morgue exploded with a deafening roar, as if bombed, and then the entire room burst into flames. After the fire subsided, the number of bodies inside matched the original count; none were missing. However, one body had its chest cavity ruptured, and its heart was missing. Furthermore, Uncle Zeng, who guarded the morgue, disappeared after the fire, and the cause of the fire remained unknown. At Li Yan's house, Li Yan sat in the room where Yang Chuanqi had later slept, touching every single item. Although Sha Wujing had told her to burn these things as soon as possible, she couldn't quite manage it. She couldn't bear to part with it; everything here had been used by him, even still carrying his scent. Although she knew Yang Chuanqi had become a demon later, no matter what, when he was still human, they had always been very good to each other, never even arguing. Many people said that Yang Chuanqi married her because of her family background, but she didn't care, as long as Chuanqi was by her side, regardless of the reason. Thinking of her painful memories, she couldn't help but cover her face with her hands and cry again. She could pretend to be strong in front of others, but how could she continue to pretend in the quiet of the night? Just as she was weeping and grieving, a sudden, loud crash came from the window, followed by a terrifying gust of wind. In her haste and tension, Li Yan vaguely saw that the force of the wind came from a long, whip-like tail, black and yellow striped together. If it struck, it would surely break in two. In this critical moment, the will to survive made Li Yan display an unusual agility. She quickly bent over, shrinking like a shrimp under a chair. Just as she ducked, the iron back of the chair was snapped in two by the tail, and the force even slammed the chair back against the wall, creating a deep crater. "You... who are you? How did you get in?" Li Yan stared in horror at the figure that had suddenly appeared at the window. No, it shouldn't be called a figure, because it had a tail, ears, and whiskers—a woman like a cat. Most terrifying of all were its eyes; they had no pupils, only a pale, stark white. In addition, it was holding a person in its arms, which looked like a corpse.

“Kawasaki…” Li Yan finally saw clearly the person the woman was holding. It was her deceased husband, who had been placed in the morgue of the city's First Hospital. How could he be in this woman's hands? “Who exactly are you?” Li Yan asked, suppressing her fear. In fact, she already understood that this woman, like her husband, was no longer a pure human being.

The cat-like woman didn't immediately answer Li Hong's question. She gently placed Yang Chuanqi's body on the bed, a lover's smile on her face: "Chuanqi, sleep here for a while. After I deal with this bitch, I'll take you away. We'll be together from now on."

These tender words were spoken to a dead man; such a scene would chill anyone to the bone. After saying this, she raised her head, her gaze instantly turning from gentle to cold, filled with intense killing intent: "Who am I? Don't you really recognize me?"

Judging from her tone, it seemed as if Li Hong should know her, which made her suspicious. Temporarily setting aside her fear, she carefully examined the face, which resembled a cat more than a human. As she filtered through the eyes, ears, black markings, and beard, the face slowly began to feel familiar. Could this person really be someone she knew?

With this question in mind, Li Yan racked her brains, trying to recall. Suddenly, a pure and lovely face flashed through her mind, and she exclaimed, "Could you be Aunt Hong's daughter, Leng Shuang?"

"You finally remember? That's right, I am Leng Shuang!" She immediately admitted Li Yan's guess, her tail coiled around her waist as she slowly approached Li Yan. "You didn't expect it, did you? You didn't expect it to be me, did you? Li Yan, do you know how much I hate you? First, you snatched Kawasaki away from me, and now you've killed him. I wish I could kill you right now,

but no, I can't let you off so

easily. I'll let you live a good life, and then slowly torture you until you die!" Faced with Leng Shuang's relentless approach, Li Yan retreated in horror. She was terrified by the extremely ferocious expression on Leng Shuang's face. Only when she reached the wall and could no longer escape did she stop retreating. Leaning against the wall for support, she stammered in defense, "I... I didn't..."

"You do!" Leng Shuang interrupted her angrily. At the same time, the tail wrapped around her waist flashed and carved a deep trench in the wall next to Li Yan. Several pieces of broken bricks hit Li Yan with a sharp gust of wind. Li Yan felt pain but dared not cry out in front of the increasingly frenzied Leng Shuang. She could only grit her teeth and endure it silently.

"You still dare to say you didn't!" If she didn't want to keep her alive to torture her slowly, Leng Shuang would have wanted to devour her right now: "If it weren't for you, Kawasaki would never have left my side. If it weren't for you, we would be very happy. It's all your fault, all your fault!" At this point, Leng Shuang's voice was more shrill than ever before, and her ears were clenched tightly: "What do you have? Nothing but a lot of money. Do you think Kawasaki really likes you? Wrong. He only likes your money. The only person Kawasaki truly loves is me. We are lovers. He said he would come back to marry me after he finished his studies, but my waiting was in vain. The person he wants to marry is you, you rich girl. Yes, my mother works for your family, I am inferior, but you shouldn't have taken Kawasaki away, you shouldn't have!" Her hysterical screams carried far into the night sky.

"I don't know, I don't know anything." What Leng Shuang said was something Li Yan didn't know. During her relationship with Yang Chuanqi, he never mentioned having a girlfriend he was already engaged to, only saying he was single. That's why she married him. But now Leng Shuang was saying she and Yang Chuanqi were the real couple. Did Chuanqi really marry her for money?

"Of course you don't know. You're a rich heiress, born superior to others. When I heard Chuanqi was going to marry you, I felt like I was dying, but I didn't want to die. I swore in my heart that even if I

were to die, I would drag you down with me. I would never let you be so happy." Leng Shuang took a breath and continued, "You don't know either, do you? Actually, after you got married, Chuanqi and I still saw each other often. He told me he only ever loved me, and that being with you was just for better opportunities. Although I wasn't happy, I forgave him because I loved him so much!"

Every time Leng Shuang mentioned Yang Chuanqi, her expression became ferocious. Her tone softened considerably, showing how much she truly loved Yang Chuanqi: "Originally, I thought that as long as I could see Chuanqi all the time and know that I was the one he loved most, that would be enough. But gradually, I realized that these things could no longer satisfy my love for Chuanqi. I want to be with him forever, I want him by my side at all times, not by your side, you ugly monster!" Under her glaring eyes, filled with the whites of her eyes, Li Yan didn't dare to utter a sound. However, she really couldn't believe what Leng Shuang was saying. Her husband, who had always been so loving towards her, was only with her for money. She also couldn't believe that he had another woman

outside their marriage ! Leng Shuang continued, "My intense desire to win Kawasaki's heart fueled my ever-growing resentment until it exceeded a certain threshold. This completely changed my fate. A man appeared before me, granting me my current power and allowing me to do what I desire. He told me that there is only one way to keep someone by my side forever: to transform them into my demon slave. In that case, they will only listen to me and never leave me again!" Leng Shuang laughed maniacally, then abruptly stopped. "But just when we could be together forever, you killed Kawasaki, making all my efforts futile. Tell me, did you deserve to die? Should I kill you?!" "So... so that's why Kawasaki became like that, and even wanted a divorce—it was all your doing!" All the questions were finally answered at this moment. In that instant, Li Yan temporarily set aside her fear and questioned Leng Shuang. "That's right, I not only want Kawasaki, but also all the businesses under your name, especially that pharmaceutical company!" The mysterious person who transformed her into a monster had strictly forbidden her from mentioning her desire to gain control of the pharmaceutical company, but Leng Shuang didn't see anything wrong with saying it now. In her eyes, Li Yan was practically dead! What was there to hold back when speaking to a dead person? Li Yan's heart sank to the bottom. Chapter 232 Stealing Love Originally terrified, Li Yan's eyebrows shot up when she heard the words "pharmaceutical company," and her eyes flashed with a sharp light. She stared intently at Leng Shuang and said in a deep voice, "How did you know I own a pharmaceutical company?" Her gaze was even colder than Leng Shuang's as she spoke. "How I know is none of your concern. If you want to die, or if you want to die with less suffering, then obediently hand over the pharmaceutical company. Otherwise, I'll make you regret ever being born!" Leng Shuang didn't care about Li Yan's sudden change in attitude; she only wanted to complete the task entrusted to her by the mysterious person as soon as possible. Li Yan slowly straightened up and sneered, "So you instructed Kawasaki to take over my assets just for that pharmaceutical company. Everything else was just a cover. My father has always kept the pharmaceutical company well hidden, but you still managed to find out. However, I will never hand it over to you, even if it means my death! Don't have any illusions. I will never hand it over to you, never !" "Whether you hand it over or not is no longer up to you. You have a path to heaven but choose not to take it, and you insist on walking into the gates of hell!" After saying this, Leng Shuang's eyes suddenly opened. The six tentacles on her face suddenly extended, like octopus tentacles, reaching towards Li Yan from both sides. It was clear that Li Yan had nowhere to hide and was bound to be caught. Even Leng Shuang thought so. She didn't think that a powerful cat demon like herself could escape from a mortal's grasp. However, it was indeed the case. Whether Li Yan unleashed her potential at a critical moment or was simply destined to survive, she leaped out from between several tentacles at twice the speed of an ordinary person, rolled to the door, opened it, and escaped.

Leng Shuang, not giving it much thought after her initial miss, simply attributed her carelessness to her own lapse in judgment. She snorted coldly and chased after Li Yan in the direction she had fled. Catching someone indoors was far more dangerous than in an open field; there were many obstacles blocking the way. Moreover, this was Li Yan's home, which she knew far better than Leng Shuang, allowing her to weave between obstacles and prevent Leng Shuang from catching her. Strangely enough, Li Yan, who usually sat in an office, was running as fast and agile as Leng Shuang. This wasn't because Leng Shuang wasn't giving it her all; Li Yan had already exerted herself to the utmost.

Being thwarted time and again fueled Leng Shuang's anger, making her increasingly desperate to catch Li Yan. Whenever she encountered an obstacle, she either whipped it to pieces with her tail or used her whiskers to entangle it before throwing it away.

After several minutes of struggle, there was practically nothing left for Li Yan to hide in the house. She could only try to escape, but somehow the door was locked tight, and she couldn't open it. She could only watch helplessly as the grinning Leng Shuang approached.

"You really won't let me go?" Li Yan leaned against the door, warily watching Leng Shuang approach. However, at this moment, her eyes didn't show much fear or dread; instead, they held an unusual calmness… a look that was hard to decipher.

"Let you go?" Leng Shuang laughed maniacally, as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. Tears streamed from her swollen eyes. "You want me to let you go? Then who will let Kawasaki go?" Then

her laughter abruptly vanished, replaced by a chilling voice. "I won't kill you now, at least not before you hand over the pharmaceutical company. But I will make you suffer the cruelest torture imaginable. Not just you, but anyone you hire to kill Kawasaki, I will not let them go either. You will all die for Kawasaki!" No one doubted her resolve. Even if it cost her her life, she wouldn't give up. Just like when she willingly transformed from a human into a cat demon to gain enough power to possess Yang Kawasaki.

The courage required for a stunningly beautiful woman to willingly become a cat demon is beyond the comprehension of others. And she did it. For intense love and hate, she gave her beautiful youth to a stranger, transforming herself into a cat demon.

"Fine! Let's see how you get your revenge!" Li Yan uttered this word and reached into her robes, seemingly to grab something. Leng Shuang, on the other hand, raised her sharp, bloodied nails, already imagining how she would tear Li Yan's flesh piece by piece after capturing her.

"It seems quite lively here? Why didn't you call out before you started?" A high-pitched, hoarse

male voice suddenly broke between the two, causing them to stop what they were doing and turn to look in the direction of the voice.

The door had been opened at some point, and Sha Wujing, wielding his demon-subduing staff, led Bajie and Xiaobai into the messy villa. Above them hung a bright, clear moon in the night sky. And that hoarse, high-pitched voice, of course, came from Bajie. With the shout, Bajie stepped past Sha Wujing and entered first.

"Second Brother, be careful," Sha Wujing warned with concern.

"Li Yan, don't panic, I'm here to save you!" Bajie seemed not to have heard Sha Wujing's instructions, and walked into the house, saying righteously.

Upon seeing who it was, Li Yan breathed a heavy sigh of relief, pulled her hand out of her bosom, and temporarily put down what she had been about to grab. Facing her was Leng Shuang, whose eyes suddenly widened, staring intently at Bajie, her teeth grinding together. "You killed Kawasaki?" she said.

Bajie was startled by her eyes, which were so small that only the whites were visible, and felt a wave of nausea. "Heh, you could say that. But

actually, it was my junior brother, Old Sha, who truly killed him. I just helped out a little. Speaking of which, you look really ugly, neither human nor cat, so terrifying."

As the saying goes, enemies are especially hateful when they meet. Now that her enemy was right in front of her, Leng Shuang was naturally filled with extreme hatred. Being called an ugly monster by Bajie only fueled her rage. Her already long fingernails grew twice as long again under the influence of her demonic power. Li Yan couldn't kill them now, but these three stinky men didn't matter. She would definitely make these three stinky men die under her claws.

"I haven't even come looking for you yet, and you've already come to your deaths! Fine! Since you want to die sooner, then I'll grant your wish!" As she spoke, Leng Shuang waved her hands, and the door slammed shut again. She also placed a demonic barrier at the entrance, ensuring that no one could leave unless she died.

Sha Wujing maintained a faint smile, seemingly unconcerned by Leng Shuang's murderous intent. He first approached Li Yan and asked, "Miss Li, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, I'm alright. Luckily, Master, you

arrived in time, otherwise I would have been captured by this female demon!" Li Yan said, still shaken. She then added, "Master, this female demon is called Leng Shuang, the daughter of my housekeeper, Aunt Hong. She's the one who turned my husband into a monster, neither human nor demon! Please subdue her!"

"That's not your husband! Kawasaki is mine! Mine! You stole my lover!" Li Yan's words provoked Leng Shuang. She screamed excitedly, a bloodshot glint appearing in her pale eyes.

Sha Wujing nodded to Li Yan, then turned to Leng Shuang and said, "You really are related to Aunt Hong. Today, when I discovered you planting demonic energy on Aunt Hong to monitor the Li family, I immediately suspected you might be connected to her. You planted that demonic energy very carefully; it only subconsciously affects people without physically harming them. But there's one thing I'm curious about: you're clearly human, so why did you suddenly turn into a cat demon?"

Bajie, standing nearby, lamented, "Such a beautiful girl, turned into this ugly monster, neither human nor cat. Tsk tsk, what a pity!"

Chapter 233 Demon-Slaying Sword

Hearing Bajie mocking her again for being ugly, Leng Shuang was furious. She hated nothing more than someone calling her ugly.

Leng Shuang shouted angrily, "I don't care what you say about me, because you'll soon become a dead person who knows nothing, and I'll rip out your heart to offer as a sacrifice to Kawasaki!" She raised her two claws, each over two inches long with sharp armor, her tail sliding down from her waist, twitching constantly, ready to attack at any moment. Pigsy took two steps back and walked to Sandy's side, saying, "Brother Sandy, be careful of this demoness's claws!"

"Hahaha, what can a demoness do? My demon-subduing staff is going to do a great service again!" Sandy said dismissively, slowly walking over with his demon-subduing staff in hand.

"Old Sandy, let me spar with her a couple of times and see how strong she is?" Little White whispered to Sandy beside him.

"It's fine if you all come at me together. Anyway, you're all going to die today. It'll save me the trouble of dealing with you one by one!" Leng Shuang said coldly. Bajie chuckled and said, "You little demon, you're really talking big. Don't cry when Xiaobai beats you to the ground!"

"Hmph!" Leng Shuang snorted heavily, already impatiently charging forward. Her ten fingers whistled through the air, aiming for Xiaobai's face. In this claw strike, Leng Shuang used all her strength. She believed that with her speed and power, she could definitely injure the unarmed Xiaobai, knock him to the ground, or even kill him with a single claw.

Xiaobai indeed couldn't dodge, and he absolutely couldn't catch it barehanded. However, Leng Shuang misjudged one thing: Xiaobai wasn't unarmed!

Just as she launched her attack, Xiaobai also raised his hands to meet her. Xiaobai was a dragon, and suddenly his hands glowed with a blue light, enveloping his entire body. From the outside, one could only see a dazzling blue light flowing around him.

When the azure light reached its peak, a radiant longsword floated in mid-air within it. The sword itself appeared ordinary, but its hilt was engraved with many incomprehensible characters, giving the entire sword an antique feel.

"The Demon-Slaying Sword!" Xiaobai grasped the sword in his hand

.

"What a sword! What a sword! Little White, why haven't I seen you use this sword before?" Bajie asked curiously.

Before Leng Shuang could recover from the shock of the shimmering green light, a piercing pain suddenly shot through her hands. Looking down, she was horrified and quickly withdrew her hands.

It turned out that Little White had somehow already grasped the sword and held it in front of her face, and her hands were caught on it. Even with her body, a hundred times stronger than before after her demonic transformation, she was as fragile as tofu before this sword. If she had been any slower in withdrawing her hands, she would have lost several fingers.

Having suffered a loss right from the start, the pain spurred Leng Shuang's murderous aura to rise, and a dense green demonic energy surged from her body, most concentrated in her hands. She was repairing her injured hands; under the healing power of the demonic energy, the bleeding slowly stopped, and the wounds began to heal.

Taking advantage of the lull, Xiaobai made a victory sign to Bajie and the others, then focused intently on Leng Shuang. Generally speaking, wounded beasts are more ferocious than uninjured ones

; after all, even a dying rabbit can kick out a couple of feathers from an eagle, let alone a demon. She didn't want to be caught off guard.

After repairing her body, Leng Shuang slightly bent over and pounced on Xiaobai again like a bullet from a gun, meowing fiercely.

Although she was fast, Xiaobai's eyes could still catch her movements. Just as she raised her sword to deal with her, Leng Shuang suddenly disappeared from sight. Xiaobai was startled by this sudden change. How could this be? How could Leng Shuang's speed be so fast that she couldn't see her? This was impossible; she was just a demon. He had never encountered demons with such terrifying speed before.

No matter how much he doubted, Leng Shuang had indeed vanished without a trace. Since he couldn't find her, he was naturally unable to defend against her attack. Left with no other choice, Xiao Bai could only stand in front, sword in hand, cautiously guarding his surroundings, ready to pounce from anywhere.

Just as Xiao Bai was tensely on guard, Sha Wujing, who had been watching from the sidelines, suddenly shouted, "Watch out behind you!" He

simultaneously raised his demon-subduing staff, ready to help.

The moment Sha Wujing's voice rang out, Xiao Bai also felt the chilling killing intent behind him, but it was too late for him to turn around and defend himself. In the nick of time, he only managed to raise his sword behind his back, hoping to withstand Leng Shuang's sneak attack.

"Clang!"

"Bang! Crack!"

The sword barely blocked Leng Shuang's sneak attack. However, even after being partially deflected by the Demon-Slaying Sword, half of the force of Leng Shuang's full-force strike still reached the unprepared Xiao Bai, knocking him back several meters. A trickle of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth. Although there was an element of carelessness involved, the main reason was Leng Shuang's unexpected sneak attack.

Just as Leng Shuang was about to press her advantage and kill Xiao Bai, Sha Wujing stepped between them, his Demon-Slaying Staff outstretched, aimed at Leng Shuang. A faint red light flickered at the tip of the staff.

Driven by revenge, Leng Shuang lashed out with her tail at anyone who stood in her way.

Sha Wujing took a few steps back, avoiding Leng Shuang's fierce attack. Just as Sha Wujing was about to silently recite the mantra to activate

the red light of his staff for an attack, Xiao Bai's voice suddenly came from behind him: "Let me do it! Let me subdue her!"

Taking advantage of the time Sha Wujing had spent blocking her, Xiao Bai had suppressed the surging blood and qi within his body and recovered his strength.

Xiao Bai walked up to Leng Shuang. His face was still somewhat pale, and a trace of blood clung to the corner of his mouth. Compared to Leng Shuang, he seemed to be at a disadvantage. Even Li Yan was worried about whether he could subdue Leng Shuang. What if he couldn't? Would he really have to use that secret weapon? Li Yan's hand unconsciously reached into her bosom again, where she hid something. That thing could definitely allow her to easily defeat Leng Shuang, but… it wasn't perfect yet, so it was best not to use it.

"Invisibility..." Xiao Bai held her sword at her sides, her gaze fixed on Leng Shuang's demonic form. "How do you know invisibility?"

Leng Shuang sneered, "Hahaha, why can't I use invisibility? Are you scared?" She tilted her head, licking her nails. "Telling you won't hurt. Every demon like us who transforms later in life has a

special skill. For example, my special skill is invisibility. Today you were fortunate enough to witness my ultimate technique, and you can certainly die in peace!"

"You? Who else?" Xiao Bai repeated the word "you," her expression extremely serious as she asked the question. Although she knew Leng Shuang had transformed from a human into a cat demon, she had assumed she was the only one. But now, judging from Leng Shuang's words, it seemed there were many others like her. If that were true, wouldn't the world descend into chaos?

"You don't need to know this. Your biggest mistake, the one you shouldn't have done, was listening to this woman and killing my Kawasaki. Today, I will kill you!" With that, Leng Shuang vanished again, her invisibility spell activated once more. She knew she was no match for Xiao Bai and the other two in terms of magical power, so she wanted to use this elusive skill to ambush and kill Xiao Bai. Had Xiao Bai already suffered a loss this time?

Facing the vanished Leng Shuang, Xiao Bai smiled calmly, seemingly unconcerned. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, then surprisingly closed his eyes. His Demon-

Slaying Sword hung limply at his side, showing no sign of attack or defense. Was he not going to resist? Bajie was about to yell at him, asking if he was courting death, when a thought flashed through his mind. He stopped himself from speaking, focusing intently on

his surroundings. His spiritual sense spread out from Xiao Bai, enveloping the entire villa like flowing water and air, leaving no gaps within its range.

The wind stirred… the sword moved… the

Demon-Slaying Sword shifted and changed in Xiao Bai’s hands, blocking, parrying, and thrusting. No matter where Leng Shuang’s attacks came from, he could always block them with pinpoint accuracy. Moreover, every time Leng Shuang made contact with the Demon-Slaying Sword, the sharp, spiritually imbued blade would leave wounds on her body.

After dozens of attacks, Leng Shuang finally stopped, her figure slowly reappearing. Even a fool could see that such attacks were ineffective against Xiao Bai.

“Why can you detect me even with your eyes closed?” This was Leng Shuang’s question, and Xiao Bai answered her with a single word: “Wind!”

Yes, every attack, more or less, would create a wisp of wind, and with his eyes closed

, his hearing became exceptionally sharp. Coupled with the aid of his spiritual sense, he could easily detect Leng Shuang’s attacks. The initial injury was simply due to being caught off guard and unprepared.

Xiao Bai stared sharply at Leng Shuang: "Alright, we've done everything we could. You turned Yang Chuanqi into a demon slave, then tried to kill Li Yan, and just now you injured me. We should settle these scores. Your heart was evil, your actions were wicked, but you are not guilty and can be forgiven. You yourself have no intention of turning back. Today, I will take your life!" With a

swing of his sword, spiritual energy surged, like a gushing sword beam, sending sand and stones flying wherever it passed, forcing Leng Shuang to constantly dodge. However, the villa was only so big, and after dodging dozens of blows, she had several cuts, each deep enough to expose bone. Even with demonic energy repairing her body, it couldn't keep up with the speed of her injuries. Often, before one wound healed, another would be inflicted. Only now did Leng Shuang realize that she had truly underestimated these three men; their abilities were far stronger than she had imagined.

"Xiao Bai, come on! Knock her to the ground!" Bajie cheered Xiao Bai on from the side.

04-25
Chapter 234 Choosing a Dead End The Demon

-Slaying Sword in Xiaobai's hand made Leng Shuang flustered and confused.

In truth, Xiao Bai was also in a difficult position. He hadn't expected a demon to be so troublesome. The Demon-Slaying Sword was impressive to wield, but it also demanded a high level of internal energy. Without the infusion of internal energy, the sword was merely a slightly sharper ordinary sword, utterly ineffective against demons.

Despite Xiao Bai's current enjoyment of the fight, he had actually depleted more than half of his internal energy. If he didn't quickly defeat Leng Shuang, he might be the one to suffer. Although Sha Wujing and Zhu Bajie were nearby, Xiao Bai didn't want their help; he wanted to defeat the demon alone.

The battle had now become a contest of internal energy versus demonic power, a test of who would exhaust their energy first. However, Xiao Bai still had an advantage. Leng Shuang's speed was slowing, her breathing was becoming heavier, and only five of the ten sharp claws on her claws remained; the other five had been severed and hadn't yet regrowed.

The changes weren't limited to these things. The black

lines on Leng Shuang's face were slowly fading, but so slowly that it wasn't immediately noticeable. Her eyes were also changing; a small, enlarging black dot was gradually appearing in the center of her previously completely white eyes, resembling a growing pupil. This was a sign that her demonic transformation had been prolonged, and her demonic energy was insufficient to sustain her continued transformation.

This was because she was in human form, and compared to a true demon, there was still a difference. The inability to transform for extended periods was a major weakness; true demons didn't have this limitation.

Sha Wujing was most sensitive to this. Upon noticing it, he immediately shouted, "Little White, quickly use your Demon-Slaying Sword to entangle her! Her demonic power is constantly weakening, don't let your guard down!"

Bajie also cheered from the side, "Little White, victory is in sight! Hold on!"

Hearing their words, Little White pushed off the ground with her toes, using the recoil to fly backward. While in the air, the Demon-Slaying Sword in her hand emitted a shimmering blue light, forming a large net that enveloped Leng Shuang.

Facing the azure light that enveloped her, Leng Shuang felt its binding

aura, and knew that in her current weakened state, once trapped by the light, she would have no chance of escape and would be at the mercy of her enemies.

No! She refused to fall into the hands of her enemies, even if she had to die, she would not die at their hands!

Driven by a powerful will, she unleashed her last strength. The black markings that had begun to fade and the blackening of her eyes returned to their original state.

"Ah!" she shouted, unleashing her remaining demonic power. Smaller objects in the room instantly turned to dust upon contact with this power, and the azure light that enveloped her was instantly shattered by the intense demonic force, turning into starlight that flickered a few times before disappearing.

Fortunately, Sha Wujing and Zhu Bajie were relatively far away from Leng Shuang, so the sudden burst of demonic energy did not harm them, but the aftershocks still stung their skin.

Taking advantage of the lack of obstruction, Leng Shuang suddenly used both hands and feet to scramble up to the second floor like a cat. Sha Wujing was afraid that she was trying to escape, so he and Xiao Bai quickly chased after her. Since most of the stairs were destroyed, they could only jump forward. However, Leng Shuang was a cat

demon, and she was much faster than the two of them. In no time, she entered the room, which was the same room where Li Yan had been earlier.

As soon as they went upstairs, Leng Shuang came out of the room. She didn't run away, probably knowing she couldn't escape today. At this moment, she was holding Yang Chuanqi's body in her arms. Li Yan looked up and saw this scene and couldn't help but shout, "What are you doing? Put my husband's body down!"

"Husband?" Hearing these two words, Leng Shuang chuckled. "He is mine. I will not give him to anyone. Even if he is dead, the only person by his side can be me. You are not worthy, not worthy!" After saying this, she lowered her head and said softly to Yang Chuanqi, who had been dead for a long time, "Chuanqi, I am useless. I can't avenge you, but I will stay by your side and never let anyone separate us!"

"Leng Shuang, it's no use for you to do anything now. You should just surrender. As long as you tell me who turned you from a human into a cat demon and promise me that you will never hurt anyone again, I may consider letting you go!" This was what Xiao Bai was most concerned about now. If that person really created a lot of monsters, then the human world would never have peace.

"Let me go? Do you think you'd be that kind?" Leng Shuang raised her tear-streaked face and said sternly, "Don't be too happy yet. Although I can't kill you, someone else will. You won't outlive me, absolutely not!"

"Leng Shuang, I know you were driven to evil because of Yang Chuanqi. Now that Yang Chuanqi is dead, you should let go of your hatred. Killing me and killing Mrs. Li won't bring Yang Chuanqi back to life. Why bother?" Sha Wujing talked to her to buy time while secretly circulating his internal energy, preparing to use his demon-subduing staff to take down Leng Shuang.

"Don't try to be all compassionate here!" Blinded by hatred, Leng Shuang wouldn't listen to Sha Wujing's advice. She glared at everyone present with her terrifying eyes, then said hatefully, "I'll be waiting for you in hell. Let's see how long you live!"

As soon as she finished speaking, countless black rays shot out from her body, like a black water sac pierced with countless holes. Leng Shuang howled in agony amidst the black light. This was a

side effect of her activating her latent demonic power to resist Xiao Bai's demon-slaying sword; her demonic power was exhausted, and her body, without support, began to gradually collapse.

Seeing the black light growing stronger, Sha Wujing quickly pressed Bajie and Xiao Bai down. Just as they hit the ground, Leng Shuang, along with the corpse of Yang Chuanqi she was carrying, exploded. Countless pieces of flesh and blood fell from the air after the impact, leaving the entire villa a bloody mess. Li Yan screamed in terror at the scene, but thankfully, she didn't faint.

After things calmed down, Xiao Bai got up and looked down, then couldn't help but laugh. His once-perfect white shirt was now covered in mud and blood, completely unwearable. But regardless, the matter was finally over.

"Sigh, what a pity. She actually chose self-destruction," Xiao Bai sighed.

"This is the fate of a demon. She willingly became a demon because of hatred, and then brought about her own demise because of hatred. As the saying goes, the net of heaven is vast, and though its meshes are wide, nothing escapes it. How can a demon escape divine retribution?" Sha Wujing also sighed.

Meanwhile, on

a mountain far away, a man in black, hands behind his back, slowly turned around and said hatefully towards Li Yan's villa, "It seems that the power of a demon of Leng Shuang's level is still too weak. She was dealt with in an instant. I need to find a way to create a more powerful demon, otherwise I have no ability to fight those people!" When he said "those people," he revealed a chilling smile, his thin lips slightly parted, revealing teeth that gleamed with a cold light.

He closed his eyes, suppressing the surging hatred and murderous intent within him. He had endured it for a long time, and didn't care about enduring a little longer. One day, however, he would repay those people, making them regret their actions.

Opening his eyes, he gazed intently at the bright moon casting its gentle glow, reaching out as if to grasp it. But he forgot that the moon was thousands of miles above the earth; even standing atop a mountain, even stretching his arm as far as he could, he couldn't touch it.

"It's the fifteenth again. Are you alright? Have you missed me?" A wave of sorrow washed over him once more. Even a thousand years couldn't diminish the sorrow, not even a fraction

. Unable to be with her, he was like a walking corpse. What sustained him was only his love for her and his hatred for those people!

The bright moon shone high, its clear light illuminating the world, but at this moment, the man in black's heart, like his black robes, was dark and gloomy, devoid of any light.

Chapter 235: Slamming His Hand

(Second update today, Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!)

It was past midnight when they left Li Yan's house. The streets were deserted and eerily quiet. Li Yan drove them home, with Pigsy in the passenger seat. He glanced at Li Yan every now and then, admiring her confident driving style.

"Miss Li, you look great," Pigsy said.

"Really? The matter is resolved, and a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Thank you so much for your help. Please come visit me sometime," Li Yan said sincerely. "

Of course, of course! I'm just afraid you'll get tired of me, Miss Li," Pigsy said cheerfully.

"Not at all! You're my saviors; I'm more than grateful. How could I possibly get tired of you?" Li Yan smiled sweetly. Pigsy felt sweeter than if he'd drunk honey.

Sandy and Whitey sat silently in the back, letting Pigsy and Li Yan chat quietly. "The moonlight is lovely tonight." Looking at the veil of moonlight outside the car, Bajie thought of Chang'e's lonely desolation in the moon palace, and a sudden wave of melancholy washed over him.

Seeing Bajie's

sudden became even less inclined to speak. The car sped quietly along the road, soon arriving at the Situ family home. The group followed the maid into the house, where the living room was brightly lit. Bajie chuckled, "They're still awake? Did they cook a midnight snack for us?"

"Probably," Xiaobai said with a smile.

The four entered the living room, where the Situ family, Wukong, and Tang Sanzang were all present. They were overjoyed to see them.

"Bajie, you're finally back! I was so worried!" Tang Sanzang stood up first, shaking Bajie's shoulder with concern.

"Master, you're overthinking it. With me, Pigsy, personally handling the task, and with Brother Sha and Xiaobai assisting, what problem could possibly be difficult for us?" Bajie boasted shamelessly.

"So, did you succeed?" Tang Sanzang asked. Situ Yu and Yueyue also crowded around, eager to hear the outcome. Bajie chuckled and said, "That monster was actually the daughter of Miss Li's housekeeper, Aunt Hong, transformed into a cat demon. It was killed by Xiaobai's demon-slaying sword. Even Li Yan's husband, Yang Chuanqi's, corpse was blown to pieces—a gruesome sight." Tang Sanzang

trembled, saying, "Amitabha, good, good! Xiaobai, you haven't forgotten how I've taught you, have you? I've always told you not to kill, not to kill, but you always let it go in one ear and out the other. Alas, the world has changed. Even Xiaobai, this honest man, has changed. I almost don't recognize you anymore! My teaching is not strict; it's the teacher's fault. I'm truly ashamed that I haven't taught you properly to be careful about killing."

"Master, those two weren't human, they were monsters. You don't need to feel guilty about monsters," Sha Wujing reassured him. As the Curtain-Lifting General of Heaven, Sha Wujing encountered many things unknown to ordinary people. Since there are demons in the mortal realm, and a demon realm parallel to it, there must also be a celestial realm and a demon realm. People on earth believe that gods live in heaven, but that's a misconception. Gods, demons, and monsters, like humans, each live in a parallel space. Demons are always filled with resentment and hatred towards humans, and will try to harm them whenever they have the chance. Therefore, eliminating demons should be decisive and swift; one must not be swayed by

sentimentality .

"Since those being killed are all demons, I have nothing more to say. I hope you will open your eyes wide and distinguish right from wrong, and not kill the innocent!" Tang Sanzang said earnestly, his hands clasped together.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Sha Wujing and Bai Suzhen nodded repeatedly like chickens pecking at rice, listening attentively to Tang Sanzang's words.

"Li Yan, are you alright?" Madam Situ asked Li Yan with concern. "Alas, how pitiful. Li Yan, you lost your husband at such a young age. It's truly a tragedy that beauty is often accompanied by misfortune!"

"Aunt Situ, I'm fine, I'm not injured. Actually, it's all thanks to the great help of the three masters that I was able to survive. Please accept my humble bow." Li Yan bent her knees, intending to kneel and kowtow in gratitude. Bajie reacted quickly, stepping forward to stop her, saying, "Don't make such a grand gesture; we cannot accept it."

Wukong chuckled beside her, saying, "Bajie, I didn't realize you were so quick." Bajie smiled proudly, saying, "I'm always very agile, I just don't usually show it." As he spoke, he held Li Yan's hands, reluctant to let go.

Li Yan blushed, gently slipping away from Bajie's support,

saying, "I will never forget the great kindness of the three masters." "Brother Sha, how did today's demon-slaying operation go?" Wukong asked casually. He felt a bit disgusted by Bajie's obsequious behavior and casually asked Sha Wujing about it.

Through Sha Wujing's explanation, Wukong gradually understood the whole story. When he learned that Leng Shuang, a demon, was so troublesome and possessed the ability to become invisible, Wukong was somewhat surprised. When he learned that there was a mysterious person behind Leng Shuang, and that it was he who had turned her into a demon, Wukong frowned deeply, as if deep in thought. But Sha Wujing's words clearly didn't stop there: "Judging from Leng Shuang's last words, the mysterious person clearly created more than just her; there must be many more, otherwise she wouldn't have said someone would avenge her."

"If that mysterious person continues to create demons, won't the world be in chaos? Wukong, the situation is not optimistic!" Tang Sanzang said worriedly.

"Master, don't worry, they're just demons. I, Old Sun, don't take them seriously at all. I'll kill one if one comes, and two if two come!" Wukong comforted Tang Sanzang. Only then did

Tang slowly relax.

"The most important thing now is to find out who that mysterious person is and how he transformed humans into monsters. We must find him before big trouble arises," said Sha Wujing. Bajie, however, helplessly spread his hands: "But we have absolutely no clue. We don't even know if he's in Lingwang City. He's in the shadows while we're in the open. Our situation is a bit dangerous!" The following days were unexpectedly peaceful. Nothing happened. Leng Shuang's accomplice didn't appear, not even a whisper of news. Time passed unnoticed. One day, while eating lunch, the television switched to a news report about a major incident in the city. Last night, around midnight, the bodies of two police officers were found behind a building. Their bodies were still warm, indicating they had only recently died. Several bullets were found on the ground, suggesting a gunfight before their deaths. Both officers died from being pierced by large, hard objects, similar to several previous cases,

leading to suspicions that they were killed by the same perpetrator. To avoid frightening television viewers, the two police officers whose bodies had been pierced had been covered with white sheets, while the other officers were collecting evidence at the crime scene. "Lingwang City is really chaotic lately. Not only are there many monsters, but there are also many bad people. They even dare to kill police officers! This world..." Situ Nan finished grumbling and was about to lower his head to continue eating when Wukong slammed his fist on the table and said fiercely, "These monsters are too arrogant! I, Old Sun, will definitely wipe them out!"

Chapter 236 To Kill or Not to Kill

and the Tail.

"A monster!" This was a woman's scream. She fled desperately in the direction she had come from, abandoning her bicycle, fearing that if she hesitated, the monster would eat her.

A glint of light flashed in the man's eyes. With a flick of his wrist, a long, golden whip covered in sharp spikes appeared in his hand, extending infinitely. In an instant, it coiled around the woman, pulling her close. Seeing the woman's terrified expression, the man's gaze turned cold. He directed the tip of the whip to pierce the woman's chest with lightning speed. At the same time, a layer of blood-red mist clouded his eyes. The woman was too frightened to even close her eyes, forced to watch helplessly as the whip, meant to kill her, pierced her chest.

But just as the tip of the whip pierced her clothes, it stopped. The man sighed softly, the blood-red mist in his eyes clearing, and then he placed his left hand on the woman's head, whispering, "You didn't see anything just now..." His mesmerizing gaze captivated all who saw it.

The moment the woman's eyes met his, her mind was captivated, and she repeated his words with a fervent obsession: "I

didn't ..."

The man nodded, released the whip binding her, and pointed to the bicycle lying on the ground, saying, "Get on the bicycle and go home."

"Get on the bicycle and go home," the woman repeated as she walked towards the bicycle, picked it up, and mounted it. Then, like a puppet on strings, she pedaled away to the other side of the alley.

Only after the woman had gone far away did the man release his mental control. He collapsed heavily to the ground, panting heavily. The result of his stubborn use of mental control had only worsened his injuries. He shook his head and smiled bitterly. He didn't even have the strength to stand up. He didn't know how he would get home. If his mother woke up the next morning and found that he hadn't returned all night, she would definitely be worried. Unfortunately, his phone had been destroyed in the fierce fight, so he couldn't even make a phone call home.

After a wry smile, the man raised his somewhat dark eyes and looked towards the end of the dark alley, saying, "Aren't you going to come out?" Who was he talking to?

As he spoke, two figures slowly emerged from the darkness:

a monk with a full beard and a handsome man in white beside him.

The newcomers were none other than Sha Wujing and Xiao Bai. Lately, they had been wandering the streets at night, hoping to encounter the mysterious man. They believed that if the mysterious man appeared within 500 meters, Sha Wujing's demon-subduing staff would react. The two, who had been strolling, had clearly witnessed what had just happened. They were quite surprised to see the man with ears and a tail, but his face was still undeniably beautiful; the ears and tail didn't detract from his beauty but rather added a touch of eerie beauty.

"Why didn't you kill that woman? Killing her would have been much easier than hypnotizing her, wouldn't it?" This was the first question Sha Wujing asked the man.

"Why?" The man frowned, not answering immediately, as if Sha Wujing had asked a very complex question. After a long while, he said in a deep voice, "Do I really have to kill her?" Then he laughed self-deprecatingly, his gaze deep and unfathomable: "Perhaps so. I used to think that way. Whoever it was, if they were not to my advantage, I would kill them all

. In the past, even if I wasn't injured, I wouldn't waste my demonic power to hypnotize a mortal. You know, I used to be a ruthless demon who killed without blinking an eye. Even if all the mortals died and this land became a bloodbath, I wouldn't even bat an eye!" He spoke as if to a long-time friend.

"I believe you!" Sha Wujing nodded without hesitation: "Just now, in the instant you showed murderous intent, I did sense your indifference and coldness towards life."

"Then why won't you accept me? I can sense your profound magical power, and this staff in your hand is no ordinary object." The man coughed as he spoke, blood gushing from his mouth, his already parched chest now overflowing with blood.

Sha Wujing shrugged and said, "Why should I necessarily take you in? You said it yourself, that was the old you. You're different now, aren't you? At least you overcame your murderous intent at the last moment and let that woman go."

"But I'm still a demon. Shouldn't demons be feared and eliminated by humans?" These two were truly inverted

; one didn't want to kill, while the other kept asking him why he wouldn't kill him. What a strange pair of people.

Such a comical scene was unfolding on the quiet street.

Chapter 237 Fate and Destiny

Sha Wujing took a deep breath and revealed a rare smile as he replied, “Perhaps some people think that way, but I don’t. All things in heaven and earth have their own way of survival. The Great Dao originates from the same source and is without distinction. Whether one is human or demon is merely a matter of a single thought. A human heart inclined towards evil is worse than a demon, even if one is human. A demon heart inclined towards good is better than countless evil people in understanding the will of Heaven. Many times, there is no clear boundary between good and evil; it lies within one’s own heart.”

The man looked at her with interest, seemingly forgetting that he was seriously injured and in dire need of treatment: “Master, are you a celestial master who captures demons? Why do I feel that you are different from ordinary celestial masters? At least they wouldn’t say those things you said. They would only shout for battle, just like the person I just chased away!”

“Oh? Who was the person you fought just now?” Being able to beat the person in front of him to such a state, Sha Wujing believed that this person was definitely not simple, at least more powerful than the man in front of him.

"He's an old Taoist priest, but he's in a worse state than me. His meridians were injured by my attack, and I doubt he'll ever improve again, no matter how much he cultivates. He's practically crippled." A hint of joy

crept into his voice as he said this. Sha Wujing scoffed indifferently. Seeing the man's weakened state, he extended his right hand and struck him from afar. The man immediately felt a clear spring flow through his body; the chaotic demonic energy and churning blood seemed to be calmed down. Ignoring the man's surprised look, Sha Wujing said directly, "I still don't know your name. Let me introduce myself. My name is Old Sha, and I enjoy exorcising demons."

"My name is Wu Nai," the man replied briefly, revealing nothing beyond his name. But at least he knew his name and was no longer a stranger.

"Wu Nai..." Sha Wujing silently repeated in his mind. Looking at the man's bushy tail, he asked, "You're a fox demon, aren't you?"

Wu Nai readily admitted it. In his current form, any cultivator with a modicum of knowledge could easily guess his true form. However, Sha Wujing's next words still surprised him

.

"Fox demon..." Sha Wujing murmured, then looked up and smiled, "You're considered one of the more formidable demons in the demon realm. Few in the human world can handle you. Fortunately, you're not a bad demon, so I don't need to get into a conflict with you."

Wu Nai smiled gently. The gentle smile spread, and Xiao Bai felt a little dizzy upon contact, as if he were trapped in that smile and couldn't escape. However, this only lasted a moment, and Xiao Bai quickly regained his senses. No wonder he was a fox spirit; a mere smile was enough to bewitch him. If it were an ordinary person, they would probably forget where they were. It seems that a man who is too beautiful is indeed dangerous! Even Xiaobai, a man, was a little dizzy; it would be strange if a woman hadn't been electrocuted.

Xiaobai didn't know that this was why Wu Nai rarely smiled in front of others, fearing misunderstandings. Even so, many girls were still captivated by him, attracting the jealousy of countless men.

After witnessing the murders of the two police officers and the scene, Wu Nai

suspected it was the work of non-humans. Not wanting to see more deaths, he began to pay close attention, wanting to uncover the truth. Unexpectedly, upon entering the alley, he encountered a powerful and short-tempered old Taoist priest. Sensing the demonic aura emanating from him, the priest immediately accused him of being a malevolent monster and attacked without warning. While the old priest was slightly weaker than Wu Nai in terms of strength, he possessed a magical artifact bestowed upon him by his master. The two fought to a standstill, until Wu Nai deliberately feigned an opening to lure the old priest into a trap, then seized the opportunity to severely injure him, forcing him to flee. However, Wu Nai himself was also seriously injured and unable to transform back into human form, leaving him stranded in the alley.

After he finished speaking, Sha Wujing explained his reason for being there; their goals were the same. Finally, Sha Wujing frowned and said, "So what are you going to do now? You can't just keep sporting those ears and that big tail. It's nighttime, so there aren't many people yet, but there will definitely be more after dawn. You can't just hypnotize everyone, can you?"

Wu Nai turned to look at his tail and said, "It's alright. After resting for a while and with your help earlier, my demonic power has recovered somewhat."

"Perhaps concealing these things should be barely manageable." As he spoke, a thin layer of red light slowly emanated from his body, circling him a few times before disappearing. Looking at Wu Nai again, he was no longer in his demonic form. Apart from bloodstains on his clothes and an excessively pale face, he looked no different from anyone else.

After seeing that he had transformed into human form and was safe, Sha Wujing prepared to leave. After walking for a while, Sha Wujing suddenly turned back, waving with a bright smile, "Fox, be careful on the road!"

“Fox…” Wu Nai shook his head, watching Sha Wujing and Bai Suzhen's departing figures, then turned and walked in another direction. The three figures walked further and further away, but who knows, perhaps one day, somewhere, they would meet again. Fate, often, begins with acquaintance…

After they disappeared from sight, the originally bright and gentle moon in the night sky suddenly became hazy, as if veiled by a light gauze, its gentle light gathering around it.

Then, a serene, ethereal aura descended from the moon to the mortal world, countless invisible points of light forming

a… A passage connecting the moon and the human world, in the middle of which floated a fleeting figure, veiled in light, radiant with light, accompanied by celestial music.

That night, the people of Lingwang City seemed to hear that exquisitely beautiful music as they slept. They were merely mortals and had never heard celestial music before, but the sound gave them the feeling of celestial music.

The beautiful celestial music drifted through the city's night sky…

Chapter 238 Fate's Manner

Amidst the celestial music, a young man who was lost in thought looked up at the sky, only to see a dazzling light descend from the heavens. His vision blurred, and the light vanished without a trace.

"A jinx?" "The young man muttered to himself. This young man was indeed Situ Yangguang, standing on the rooftop of one of the Situ family's buildings. Rumor had it that seeing a jinx was a bad omen; could he be about to encounter some calamity? Situ Yangguang wondered.

It was a beautiful night, the moon bright and the stars few, a cool breeze blowing. Tang Seng, who shared a room with him, had been reading scriptures all day and was now soundly asleep. But Situ Yangguang was preoccupied with worries. Distant memories flooded his mind. He couldn't help but think of Yang Guifei, whom he had fallen in love with at first sight and who was deeply righteous. Their love was unforgettable. He wondered where she was now. On such a beautiful night, was she also gazing at the moon and reminiscing?

"Greetings, sir. This young lady greets you." Suddenly, a gentle voice came from behind. Situ Yangguang was startled and quickly turned around to see a graceful and beautiful woman standing behind him. She chuckled softly, a unique charm emanating from her, her whole being like a cloud or mist, as if she might dissipate at any moment, yet the plain white veil draped over her made her seem real. Reality and illusion contradicted each other yet harmoniously within her.

"Miss, who are you? You really startled me!" Situ Yangguang wondered to himself. Why would such a woman come to the rooftop in the dead of night? Was she a new guest of the Situ family?

The woman smiled gently, then parted her lips slightly and said softly, "My name is Chang'e!"

"Thump!" This was the sound of Situ Yangguang losing his footing and falling to the ground. "Sir, are you alright?" the woman asked with concern.

"I'm fine, I'm fine! The wind was too strong, I just lost my balance." "Situ Yangguang stood up, rubbing his backside, and said with an embarrassed smile.

Almost everyone in China has heard of Chang'e; even China's recently launched lunar probe was named Chang'e-1, showing how widespread the name is.

But no one has actually seen Chang'e, and

no one is even certain if she truly exists. From a scientific perspective, she shouldn't exist, but there are many things in this world that science cannot explain.

The most famous myth, 'Chang'e Flying to the Moon,' is known to almost everyone. Ancient people even wrote poems about her, such as 'Chang'e should regret stealing the elixir, her heart yearning for the blue sea and sky every night.'

Now, suddenly a woman who's even slightly pretty appears and tells you she's Chang'e, would you believe her?

This is exactly the situation Situ Yangguang is facing. After awkwardly standing up, rubbing his backside, he shook his slightly dizzy head before saying to the smiling woman, 'Miss, you can't joke like that. You say you're Chang'e, then I'm the Jade Emperor! Do you have any proof that you're Chang'e?'" "

That's right, I am Chang'e, and I came down from the Moon Palace specifically to find you," Chang'e replied with a smile.

Situ Yangguang was half-believing, half-doubting. The reason he was somewhat convinced was because he had already seen Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong, and there were Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the Western Paradise, so why couldn't there be a fairy Chang'e on the Moon Palace? But

even if there really was a Chang'e on the moon whom humans had never seen, there was no reason for her to appear in front of him. She was a goddess, while he was at most a has-been emperor. What would she do coming down from the moon to find him? Just to catch a glimpse of him? That was far too much of a boast!

"Can you prove that you are the fairy Chang'e?" Situ Yangguang asked.

"Prove?" The woman was taken aback, seemingly not expecting Situ Yangguang to disbelieve her, and then said, "What kind of proof do you need?"

"As far as I know, Chang'e is the most beautiful woman in the world, otherwise Hou Yi wouldn't have been so infatuated with her, and Marshal Tianpeng (Pigsy) wouldn't have been banished to the mortal realm for drunkenly harassing her." "Speaking of which," Situ Yangguang stroked his chin, "you're at most somewhat pretty, not at all a beauty that could topple kingdoms. For me to believe you're Chang'e, one word: difficult! Two words: very difficult! Three words: extremely difficult! Hehe, unless you can reveal your true face." Situ Yangguang looked completely unconvinced. He had

only heard these things from ancient myths; whether they were true or false, he had no way of knowing. He was just using them to

deceive this so-called Chang'e. Unexpectedly, these two sentences struck a nerve with Chang'e. Her previously relaxed smile turned solemn and sorrowful. She said softly, "Hou Yi…where is Hou Yi? I haven't seen him for many years. I don't know if I can find him to save this calamity…Hou Yi…" As she finished speaking, a faint, crystalline light appeared in the corners of her eyes, like tears, like pearls, but these tears never fell, or perhaps she was trying hard not to let them fall.

"What did you say?" Chang'e spoke very softly; apart from repeating the name Hou Yi, Situ Yangguang couldn't hear anything else. However, Chang'e's expression was extremely sorrowful.

"It's nothing," Chang'e said, forcing back the tears welling in her eyes and taking a few steps back.

After retreating, Chang'e touched her face and said, "Your biggest suspicion of me is this face. You think I'm not as beautiful as the legends say. Actually, this isn't my true appearance. I didn't want to show my true face in the mortal world, but now this is the only way to gain your trust." As she spoke,

her hand, which had been touching her face, slid

down, and she smiled sweetly, saying, "You will be the first person to see my true face!"

Her graceful body slowly spun in place. After a flash of auspicious multicolored light, her body began to emanate a strong celestial aura, which continued to intensify. This overwhelming aura affected the airflow on the rooftop, turning it into a swirling wind that enveloped Chang'e's figure. The

wind grew stronger and stronger, forcing Situ Yangguang to retreat until he was pushed against the rooftop railing. The wind felt like knives cutting into his skin, causing sharp pains. Yet, the wind showed no signs of stopping; in fact, it seemed to be intensifying. "

It's just a transformation, why all this commotion?" Situ Yangguang wondered to himself as he struggled to hold onto the railing to avoid being blown off the roof.

After a while, he finally managed to steady himself. He said impatiently, "Is that enough? If you keep playing like this, I'll be blown off the roof!"

Ordinary people would find it difficult to withstand such a strong wind, but since Situ

Yangguang accidentally ate the Fire Cloud Orange, his internal strength had greatly increased, which is why he wasn't blown away by the wind—a stroke of fate, perhaps.

Chapter 239: Reserved and Elegant .

Situ Yangguang secretly circulated his internal energy, concentrating it in his dantian, shifting his weight to his legs, and stood firmly, not drifting away with the wind.

The scattered immortal energy not only surprised Situ Yangguang but also alerted others. In one place, a black-clad man fighting with several people suddenly stopped all his movements, looking up towards the direction of Lingwang City. From there, he sensed the presence of immortal energy, an aura that only immortals could possess.

Who is it? For thousands of years, no trace of immortals has appeared in the human realm. How could an immortal suddenly appear this time, and who could this person be?

He stopped moving, but his attackers didn't. In an instant, several punches landed heavily on his chest, but the man seemed unconcerned. After confirming the presence of the immortal energy, he gave his attackers a cold smile, his gleaming white teeth looking somewhat frightening in the night: "Useless humans, I'm not playing games with you anymore, get out of my way!" With that,

he waved his hand, unleashing several inconspicuous, dark beams of light. However, these inconspicuous beams of light pierced through the attackers like swords, leaving a bloody hole in everyone hit, from which blood trickled out, covering the ground. No one could escape.

After easily defeating several people, the man in black turned away disdainfully and disappeared in a few leaps. One of the men lying on the ground managed to half-prop himself up, took out his phone, dialed a number, and said, "Reporting to headquarters, mission failed, target escaped, all members involved in the mission are injured."

After a moment of silence, a voice came from the other end of the line: "Understood. We'll send a helicopter to pick you up now. Go back to headquarters to heal, then go to Lingwang City to carry out another mission. Put this one aside for now. Even you are no match for him, and none of us here can deal with him."

Besides the man in black sensing the celestial aura released by Chang'e, several high-level demons in Lingwang City also noticed the dense celestial aura, including Wu Nai. He ran to the balcony, opened the glass window, and squinted in the direction from which the celestial aura was coming. A celestial being, a celestial being has come to the mortal realm.

Who could it be, and what is it doing here? Could it be for that thing? Thinking of this, a glint of silver light flashed in Wu Nai's eyes. Fortunately, no one saw it, or they would have made a big fuss.

His icy gaze softened slightly upon seeing the maze he himself had created around him. Even if the immortal had truly come for that thing, they wouldn't be able to easily discover this place. However, to be on the safe side, he still needed to find that immortal as soon as possible and figure out their purpose in coming to the mortal realm.

Let's turn back to Situ Yangguang's side. After struggling for more than ten minutes, the gale finally subsided, and the chaotic immortal energy gradually returned to calm. Once the wind stopped, Situ Yangguang relaxed and turned to face Chang'e.

His eyelids were twitching incessantly, and his anger level was rising steadily, showing signs of about to explode!

Situ Yangguang took a deep breath and roared angrily at Chang'e, "Big sister, are you kidding me? This is my territory! You almost sent me flying to the heavens! What's going on? Even if you are a goddess, do you have to make such

a fuss? Not everyone likes going to heaven, don't you understand?"

"But...but didn't you just say you wanted to see my true face?" Chang'e pouted, feeling wronged, seeing Situ Yangguang's furious expression.

Situ Yangguang, still not satisfied, took a breath to continue his tirade, but then he finally saw Chang'e's face. His gesturing froze as if struck by a magic spell, and his mouth remained in the shape of the next word, unable to utter a sound.

No word could describe the beauty of that face. The phrases "fish sink, geese fall, moon hides, flowers blush" were utterly inadequate to describe her!

Beautiful! Incomparable beauty! Stunningly beautiful! If one had to use the most fitting word to describe her, it would only be: breathtakingly beautiful!

The world says a smile can topple a city, a second smile can topple a nation, but this woman, even without smiling, could topple a nation and then another. No wonder since the time of Chang'e, her beauty has been praised by the world, and no one has been able to surpass her. Now, seeing her in person, I know it's true. When

Chang'e returned to her true form, her clothes changed as well. Pure white enveloped her stunning figure, and only white could match her celestial aura.

The wide sleeves and hem of her dress gave her an ethereal feeling, as if she might fly away at any moment. And indeed, after Chang'e returned to her true form, her feet left the ground, hovering in the air, but only a few feet off the ground, without flying any higher.

Looking at the dumbfounded Situ Yangguang, Chang'e seemed to have anticipated his reaction. She lowered her head and smiled, a smile far more captivating than before, almost bewitching Situ Yangguang. He was a man of many talents, and the three thousand concubines in his harem had once filled him with immense pride. However, upon seeing Chang'e's beauty, all those former beauties seemed to vanish into insignificance in an instant (of course, the Yang Guifei, who haunted his dreams, was an exception).

After her smile, Chang'e flew closer to Situ Yangguang: "What, do you believe me now?" Situ Yangguang still wore that dazed expression, and after a long while, he managed to squeeze out a sentence: "So beautiful... You are the most beautiful

person I have ever seen!" Although Yang Guifei was also beautiful back then, even giving him a feeling of being a fairy, she was still far inferior to Chang'e before him. Chang'e's beauty belonged neither to the mortal world nor to the heavens; even the best painter could not capture even a fraction of it.

Situ Yangguang believed that no one could compare to Chang'e. No wonder Hou Yi was so captivated by her, and no wonder Marshal Tianpeng risked punishment to get close to her. He also understood why she stayed alone on the moon. Even if she appeared in the celestial realm, she would absolutely enthrall people; if she appeared in the mortal world, she would only enthrall even more people.

Chang'e had heard far too many compliments about her appearance, so she was no longer particularly moved by Situ Yangguang's praise. She simply said calmly, "Do you believe me now?"

Under her repeated questioning, Situ Yangguang finally emerged from his reverie. He nodded and said, "With such powerful celestial energy and such a beautiful face, no one would believe you're not Chang'e."

Chang'e smiled, then slowly spun around again. The celestial energy gradually dissipated, and the stunningly beautiful woman disappeared, leaving only a graceful and elegant woman standing there with a smile, like a traditional Chinese painting exuding the fragrance of ink, restrained yet refined.

Chapter 240 Horrifying

(Two chapters updated today. Thanks to 'Boy Like the Wind' and many other anonymous readers. I'm very pleased to have such enthusiastic friends!)

Just as Situ Yangguang and Chang'e were talking, a mysterious man in black was rushing towards them, heading straight for the celestial aura.

"Huh, the celestial aura has disappeared?" The man in black stopped his rapid run and stood still to observe carefully. After this chase, at his speed, he had already arrived at Lingwang City, where the celestial aura had appeared. However, now that the celestial aura had disappeared, he had lost his direction. It must be that the immortal had sealed his aura to prevent others from noticing. But it didn't matter. Since he appeared in Lingwang City, he could find him by searching slowly.

Situ Yangguang shook his head a few times, staring at Chang'e's drastically different appearance with disappointment, and said, "Why didn't you change your appearance a little longer? Anyway, no one here except us will see you." Chang'e

smoothed her hair and said calmly, "My appearance is certainly not suitable for too many people to see, but that's not the main reason. The real reason is..."

"The reason is that every time I revert to my true form, my immortal energy is greatly depleted. On the moon, I could constantly replenish it, but here I can't. As my immortal energy is lost, I become weaker and weaker until I finally die. So, except for essential matters, I usually have to seal myself away to prevent the loss of my immortal energy."

She paused and said to the puzzled Situ Yangguang, "The reason I ascended to immortality is because I took an elixir of immortality. It is precisely because of this that I cannot control my immortal energy like other immortals who have cultivated and ascended. I can only watch my immortal energy constantly drain away, like a faucet that can't be turned off. Fortunately, the moon is full of immortal energy, and no matter how much is lost, it can be replenished."

"Weren't you left in the Moon Palace, unable to leave even for a moment? How come you're here in the mortal world now, and even looking for me?" Situ Yangguang pointed to his nose, extremely puzzled.

"No!" Chang'e shook her head sadly, "Actually, I can leave the Moon Palace, if I want to, but I would rather stay in that cold and desolate Moon Palace forever."

"What?

You are free?" "Since that's the case, why don't you come down and find Hou Yi? I heard that you ascended to the moon because you stole the elixir that Hou Yi obtained from the Queen Mother of the West," Situ Yangguang asked. Chang'e's unparalleled beauty was captivating, and her mysterious background made people even more eager to find out.

Chang'e said softly, "People spread rumors, how can we believe everything? However, I can't tell you the truth now. Once you help me find the person I'm looking for, I will naturally tell you the whole truth."

Seeing that Chang'e was unwilling to speak, Situ Yangguang had to suppress his curiosity: "You said you wanted me to help you find someone, is that why you came to me? Who do you want me to help you find?"

Chang'e didn't answer immediately, but looked up at the sky and gazed at it for a long time. Then she turned to Zhang Yu and said, "Look at this sky, is there anything different from usual?"

"Different? No, the sky is still the same sky, the moon is still the same moon, I really can't see anything different." Situ Yangguang looked up at the sky for a long time, but couldn't see any difference between the sky and usual, so he had to answer honestly. He walked to Chang'e's side, looked at

the sky from left to right, and said, "Really? I don't think so, it's the same as before!"

Chang'e stared at the night sky, a cold glint in her eyes, and said solemnly, "No, there is a change, but you just can't notice it right now. I've lived on the moon for many years, and I know everything about the sky. There's a comet up there, which the Heavenly Court's comet register calls Jupiter. It's over 300 kilometers in circumference and has been rotating in the sky in a regular way. But just over ten days ago, I noticed that it started to gradually approach Earth. With each rotation, it gets a little closer. If this continues, Jupiter will collide with Earth in a month. At that time, there will only be two results: mass death of humanity and regression of civilization, or the entire Earth will perish with the collision of Jupiter." Hearing this

, Situ Yangguang was terrified by her words. A comet hitting Earth—a terrifying phenomenon previously only heard from ordinary people, now being spoken of by Chang'e, a figure from mythology. Although the comet was only about 300 kilometers in diameter, if it really hit Earth,

the consequences would be unimaginable.

Just imagining the scene made Situ Yangguang's face turn pale, and his palms sweated profusely. He still managed to struggle and say, "How could that be? You're joking, right? I've never heard of such a thing before. Even if it existed, it's just something old people tell to fool children."

"Do you think I would deliberately descend to Earth to play such a joke?" Chang'e's casual remark extinguished all of Situ Yangguang's hopes. No, she certainly wouldn't be so bored as to descend to Earth specifically to play such a joke. Therefore, what she said could only be true.

"Why? Why would such a strange phenomenon occur? Why are you telling me?" At this moment, Situ Yangguang was simply a complete problem boy.

Chapter 241 Love Endures

(Second update today, thank you for your support! Friends with gold bricks, feel free to throw one over.)

At the same time, unseen messages were being sent from observatories in various countries, all of which stated: the distance between a comet and Earth has suddenly shortened from 400,000 kilometers to 320,000 kilometers, and it is currently approaching at a speed of 10,000 kilometers per day! This news has attracted the attention of

leaders of various countries. A comet that has maintained this distance for many years is now suddenly approaching Earth at a rapid speed. If it continues at this speed, then in just over a month, this comet will collide with Earth, and at that time, countless people will die, and even the Earth... The possibility of the planet being destroyed was real. Thinking of this, leaders from various countries broke out in a cold sweat. This was the most terrifying thing in history. To avoid public panic, all countries strictly controlled the news and mobilized their space military forces in preparation for a final desperate attempt before the situation became irreversible.

Situ Yangguang and Chang'e's conversation continued. After Situ Yangguang

calmed wildly beating heart, Chang'e continued, "I don't know why the comet suddenly approached Earth, and so quickly. It's as if an invisible hand is pushing all of this to happen. However, with my power, I have no way to stop it. So, after much consideration, I decided to descend to Earth to find someone. Only he has the ability to stop this destruction! Earth… the human world… that's the place I care about most!" As she said this, the corners of Chang'e's mouth unconsciously curved upwards. Was she thinking of something?

"Slow down, slow down." Situ Yangguang kept rubbing his throbbing head: "You said you live on the moon. Since you are real, then other gods and immortals must also exist. Why didn't you ask them for help instead of coming down to the mortal realm?"

The celestial realm, like the demon realm, exists in another dimension, separated from the mortal realm by a spatial barrier, but without any real restriction. He'd heard that beyond these two realms, there was also a demon realm, but Situ Yangguang didn't know what it was like.

Chang'e gazed calmly at the bright moon in the night sky and said, "I have already reported the situation to

the Jade Emperor . It seems the Jade Emperor anticipated this, only instructing me to find someone in the mortal realm. Only one person can resolve this calamity. The reason I was able to leave the Moon Palace was with the Jade Emperor's special permission and by obtaining his elixir of immortality, which allowed me to return to the mortal realm."

"Then who exactly are you looking for?" Situ Yangguang asked urgently.

Chang'e said to Situ Yangguang, word by word, "Hou Yi!"

"Hou Yi?" Situ Yangguang was stunned by the seemingly simple words "Chang'e," unable to recover for a long time.

When he finally snapped out of his shock, he chuckled wryly and rubbed his nose. Today had been quite a spectacle. First, Chang'e appeared, telling him a comet was about to collide with Earth, threatening everyone's lives. Then she said she came to the mortal realm to find Hou Yi, claiming only Hou Yi could avert this catastrophe. What was all this nonsense? He felt he'd heard and learned more in a single day than in a lifetime.

His mind seemed to have stopped working; Situ Yangguang could only stare blankly at Chang'e.

Speaking of Hou Yi, everyone remembered his

feat . He wasn't an immortal, yet he was far more powerful than many. If before he could be considered a myth, a legend, now he was real, because it came from the equally real Chang'e.

"Did he really shoot down nine suns?" Situ Yangguang stammered, unable to comprehend how a mortal could possibly shoot down suns so far away, especially with an arrow.

Perhaps because of Hou Yi, Chang'e's brows temporarily cleared of sorrow, replaced by boundless pride, for Hou Yi was her man, and the one she loved most: "I've said it before, many things are just rumors, and this story has become distorted over time. Hou Yi did indeed shoot down the sun, and not with nine arrows as the legend says, but with just one arrow—one arrow that shot down nine suns!"

Situ Yangguang finally managed to close his jaw, pointing at Chang'e and saying, "Back then, you ate his elixir, preventing him from ascending to immortality. Now, thousands of years have passed; he's long dead, and even if he's reincarnated, dozens of lifetimes have passed. How could you possibly find him?"

Unexpectedly

... Chang'e shook her head: "Hou Yi didn't die, because..." She paused, biting her lower lip, her expression hesitant, as if conflicted about whether to continue. Situ Yangguang stood quietly to the side, staring at Chang'e, and said, "Since you've come to me for help, you should completely trust me and tell me everything you know, without hiding anything."

"Hou Yi isn't purely human; he has half-demon blood. He was born to his demon father and a human woman. However, because he has always lived among humans, aside from his extraordinary abilities, he is no different from any other human, and he also possesses a kind heart. This is why I fell in love with him." Speaking of Hou Yi, Chang'e's face always filled with a gentle happiness. Even after thousands of years, she still remembered every day she spent with Hou Yi; it was the only motivation that sustained her on the deserted moon.

“Unlike Hou Yi, I am just an ordinary mortal woman. Besides my beauty, I am nothing. Our meeting, our growing understanding, and our subsequent companionship weren't

as exaggerated as later generations have made them out to be. Everything was so natural and ordinary. Hou Yi told me about his demon bloodline. He said his greatest wish was to become a complete human so we could stay together forever, growing old together!” As she spoke, tears slowly welled up in her eyes, like water and mist, giving an unfathomable yet deeply sorrowful feeling. “Having demon blood means Hou Yi will never die of old age, and no one in the mortal realm could kill him. He must still be alive, I know he must still be alive!”

Seeing the tears about to fall, Situ Yangguang frantically tried to find a tissue for Chang'e, but couldn't find one.

Chang'e closed her eyes briefly, tears already welling up, and they streamed down her cheeks.

The tears that Chang'e shed flashed with seven colors as soon as they left her cheeks, like a beautiful rainbow after the rain. After the light faded, the teardrops fell to the ground, not shattering into eight pieces, but instead making a crisp sound. Chang'e's tears, like those of the Snow Maiden and the Mermaid, turned into pearls as they fell!

Situ Yangguang's heart trembled, a trace of sorrow swept through his heart, and he even felt like crying.

Chapter 242 Earnest Advice

With a light cough and gazing at the vast expanse of space, Situ Yangguang returned to the previous topic: "Even if Hou Yi really didn't die, the human world is so vast. You, or rather, I who have been entrusted by you, where should we search for him in this month-long time before the disaster? Do you have any good ideas?"

Situ Yangguang's anticipation was met with a frustrating answer. Chang'e shook her head slightly: "I don't know. Since we parted, I haven't seen Hou Yi again. The only thing I have related to him is this!" As she finished speaking, her slender hand grasped at the air, and an object gleaming with dark gold appeared in her hand. Peeking inside, it was a miniature bow and a small silver arrow. Stream-like light flashed across the dark gold bow, and where the light shone, some symbols and inscriptions could be vaguely seen engraved on the bow. Unfortunately, Situ Yangguang didn't recognize any of these strange symbols. The small silver arrow shone with a dazzling light, inspiring awe

.

"This is the bow that Hou Yi used to shoot down the suns, called the Sun-Shooting Divine Bow. I secretly took it from Hou Yi when I ascended to heaven. He was the only owner of the Sun-Shooting Divine Bow. Although I have taken this bow now, its connection with Hou Yi remains. It was this divine bow that told me that Hou Yi would appear in this city. Situ Yangguang, no, it would be more appropriate to call you Li Shimin, you are the one who can help me find Hou Yi. Please help me!" Chang'e said sincerely.

"Chang...Chang'e Fairy, I'll still call you that." After deciding on his form of address, Situ Yangguang asked a question that had always intrigued him: "You said you've lived in the Moon Palace for many years, and this is your first time descending to Earth. So why do you know me, and why did you ask me to help you find Hou Yi? You know, I'm just a has-been emperor. There are many people in the mortal world more powerful than me. Why don't you go find them?"

"You are indeed a has-been emperor, but you are by no means an ordinary emperor. Before descending to Earth, the Jade Emperor secretly gave me a divine secret, saying that a wise and insightful person in the mortal world could

use this Sun-Shooting Bow to help me find Hou Yi and assist him in completing his mission. And this wise and insightful person is none other than you, Emperor Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty." Chang'e looked at Situ Yangguang with expectant eyes.

Before Chang'e could continue, Situ Yangguang immediately interrupted, "A wise and virtuous person? Fairy Chang'e, you flatter me too much!"

"I didn't mean any flattery," Chang'e replied. "When you were Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, you appointed people based on merit and knew how to use them wisely—that shows extraordinary insight. You also encouraged open discussion and loved the people like your own children—that shows wisdom. You often said, 'The people are like water; the ruler is like a boat. Water can carry a boat, but it can also capsize it.' Your people-centered political philosophy has been praised by the world. Therefore, calling you the greatest wise ruler in history is truly no exaggeration. This calamity will cause countless people to suffer. Can you sit idly by? Keep this Sun-Shooting Bow safe for now. Find Hou Yi and give it to him." Chang'e said, reverently holding the Sun-Shooting Bow in both hands and handing it to Situ Yangguang.

"Of course I won't stand idly by!" Situ Yangguang took the Sun-Shooting Bow and said loudly, "Alright, I'll

help you with this. Even if I die, I can't just watch the people suffer! But let me be clear, I can only do my best to find it, and whether I can find it in the end depends on fate."

A joyful smile appeared on Chang'e's face like the bright sunshine of spring. Even though her appearance had been transformed, that heartfelt smile still infected Situ Yangguang.

Chang'e only told a small part of Hou Yi's story, leaving the vast majority unsaid. It was clear that she and Hou Yi truly loved each other, unlike the mythical tale where Chang'e stole her lover's elixir to preserve her youth. What was the truth of the myth? This was probably what intrigued Situ Yangguang the most… The

Sun-Shooting Bow was only in Situ Yangguang's possession, capable of sensing Hou Yi's exact location within a kilometer radius. This was currently their only method for finding Hou Yi. Since they had confirmed Hou Yi was in Lingwang City, they had no choice but to use the most rudimentary method: trying different locations one by one. If they were lucky, they might find him; if not… Situ Yangguang looked up at the vast and mysterious

night sky, worrying for the first time that one day a comet might crash down while he was still asleep, and he would never see the sun again.

Chang'e was gone, but she brought Situ Yangguang not only the Sun-Shooting Bow and a Sun-Shooting Arrow, but also endless troubles. He carefully hid the Sun-Shooting Arrow beside his pillow, pondering how to find Hou Yi and avert this great calamity upon the world.

Lying in bed, Situ Yangguang tossed and turned, unable to sleep. His constant turning woke Tang Sanzang, who was fast asleep on the opposite bed.

"Brother, why are you still awake in the middle of the night? Is something troubling you?" Tang Sanzang asked with concern.

"Brother, I'm wondering why this calamity occurs in the world? Is there any way to avert it?" Situ Yangguang asked earnestly.

Tang Sanzang's sleepiness vanished instantly. He always greatly admired such eager-to-learn young people, so he immediately sat up and earnestly instructed them: "If evil deeds accumulate to a certain degree, some kind of calamity will occur. Some are regional, local, some are large-scale, even global, depending on the number of people who have committed these evil deeds and the severity of their karma. To escape this calamity, sentient beings must study and practice Buddhism. Practicing the Five Precepts and Ten Virtues can avert the suffering of the three lower realms—the suffering of war, fire, water, and hell; practicing meditation can temporarily relieve the suffering of inner afflictions; and if one can attain enlightenment and wisdom, one can transcend suffering." The suffering of birth and death in the Three Realms. If one lacks confidence in cultivating the Five Precepts and Ten Virtues, as well as meditative wisdom, one should still recite Amitabha Buddha's name more often and aspire to be reborn in Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss in the Western Paradise. This too can liberate one from the cycle of birth and death. Unfortunately, sentient beings only fear the bitter consequences and do not know how to avoid the causes of evil. In fact, the best way is to immediately turn away from evil and towards good, cultivate good karma, study Buddhism, generate Bodhicitta, and seek Buddhahood. In this way, one can avoid suffering the calamities of future kalpas..."

Tang Sanzang sat on the bed, talking incessantly. Situ Yangguang initially listened with great interest, but later, his eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and he unknowingly drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 243 Everyone Has the Right to Kill Him

What mysterious person could turn an ordinary person into a demon slave? Where exactly is the man in black that Yang Chuanqi mentioned? This question has been troubling Sha Wujing and Xiao Bai. Although they search carefully every day, the mysterious person never appears, which is indeed quite troublesome.

That night, they came to the North Gate Park, not far from Situ's house, once again, with the enthusiastic Situ Yangguang by their side. Ever since meeting Chang'e, Situ Yangguang had harbored a secret in his heart. He always carried the exquisite Sun-Shooting Bow with him when he went out, hoping to find Hou Yi and give him the bow.

The park at night was vastly different from the daytime one; it lacked the vibrancy of people and gained an eerie atmosphere. The moment he stepped inside, the bustling city seemed to be separated by an invisible wall, leaving only silence and darkness. Occasionally, the chirping of autumn insects could be heard from the withered grass. Although the park's various lights were on, their light could not penetrate the darkness.

Situ Yangguang was familiar with this park;

he had once been carried around here by a woman, used to elicit sympathy from kind-hearted people, becoming a tool for a scammer. Therefore, every blade of grass and every tree here was familiar. However, Sha Wujing's expression was somewhat grave.

"What's wrong? Old Sha, did you find something?" Xiao Bai also noticed that Old Sha's expression was off and asked. After looking around, Sha Wujing said in a deep voice, "Something's not right. I feel something's off here. It seems like some powerful figure is lurking in this park." There wasn't anyone in the park, so Sha Wujing wasn't worried about revealing his presence.

"Really? What's your feeling?" Situ Yangguang followed behind, carefully observing the surroundings. Sha Wujing said, "It's an intuition, and my demon-subduing staff seems to be reacting as well."

As soon as he finished speaking, a tall, slender young man appeared ahead, strolling leisurely with his hands behind his back. The moonlight, like water, enveloped his entire body, making him appear exceptionally handsome in the darkness. Upon closer inspection, Sha Wujing recognized him as Wu Nai, whom he had met once before.

"It's you?" Sha Wujing asked in confusion, "What are you doing here?"

Wu Nai

also recognized Sha Wujing, a slight smile appearing on his usually indifferent face. He said, "Hehe, we meet again! I'm waiting for someone here."

"Oh, waiting for whom?"

"An old Taoist priest," Wu Nai said casually, as if mentioning someone unrelated to him.

As he spoke, a phantom slowly emerged from under a large tree in the park. After a moment, the phantom solidified into a physical form, revealing an old man in a Taoist robe with his hair tied in a bun. His face was aged yet resolute, a cold smile playing on his lips.

"Good timing. I've been waiting for you here for a long time. Fox demon, quickly reveal your true form and surrender, or you'll suffer a terrible death," the old Taoist said coldly. "Who are you three? Are you allies with this fox demon?" His expression was extremely arrogant, showing no regard whatsoever for Sha Wujing and the others.

Xiao Bai, annoyed by his arrogant demeanor, retorted irritably, "Who we are is none of your business!"

The old Taoist, stroking his long sideburns, angrily replied, "Since that's how it is, the three of you are no better. I'll deal with this fox demon first, then I'll reason with you three." "Demon"—these

were the two words the old Taoist hated most in his life. In his eyes, all demons appearing in the human world deserved to die. This fox demon before him—a few days ago, he had been caught off guard and fell victim to its underhanded trick. He was determined to avenge this grudge today.

Wu Nai stood calmly, his hands casually in his pockets, a slight smile playing on his lips, adding a touch of devilish charm to his already handsome face.

The wind blew, his clothes fluttered, and the bright moon overhead made him appear like a god descended to earth. If any woman in the world saw him, she would surely be captivated. Unfortunately, this was in a sparsely populated park, and apart from Sha Wujing and his companions, no one could see Wu Nai standing under the moonlight.

"I regret not completely eliminating you last time out of mercy," Wu Nai said calmly.

"Bullshit! You ambushed me and escaped last time, but I won't be so lucky this time! I'm determined to get rid of you, you wretched fox demon!" This was Bao Yuanzi's voice, boiling with rage. Normally he could be very rational, but when faced with demons, all his rationality transformed into raging fury; he was determined to burn all demons to death

.

"Old Taoist, you're truly unreasonable," Wu Nai shook his head slightly, his bright eyes filled with endless bewilderment. "Demons don't want to kill, yet humans are determined to kill demons. Alas! Why, why?"

"Why? Because you are a fox demon, and everyone has the right to kill you!" the old Taoist said bitterly.

Chapter 244 Arrogance

"Enough nonsense, take this!" Bao Yuanzi's eyes turned red at the sight of Wu Nai. He disregarded even Sha Wujing and Xiao Bai, leaping several meters into the air and slashing with his peach wood sword, which had been enhanced with a secret technique. Sparks flew as the sword passed, revealing the Samadhi Fire, which possessed immense destructive power against any living being. Bao Yuanzi was skilled in thunder and fire techniques.

Wu Nai was no fool who would only take a beating. He had already jumped up when Bao Yuanzi attacked, taking a few steps through the air to land on the ground, standing shoulder to shoulder with Sha Wujing. After cutting down a tree, Bao Yuanzi attacked again. His hair, which was originally somewhat gray, gradually turned red during the battle, making him look like an enraged lion.

"Interested in helping me deal with this man-eating lion?" Wu Nai said to Xiao Bai. At this moment, Wu Nai was still in the mood to joke, even though he had almost been killed by Bao Yuanzi last time.

Xiao Bai smiled calmly, his Demon-Slaying Sword slashing diagonally downwards to the right, drawing a clean and elegant sword mark:

"Although I can't stand this old Taoist's pretentious airs, I don't want to turn against him, so I'll just stand by and watch!"

Unexpectedly, Bao Yuanzi laughed heartily, saying nonchalantly, "You can all come at me at once, no problem. It saves me the trouble of dealing with you one by one, wasting time. It's better to get rid of you all at once!"

"Then let's try!" Xiao Bai's eyes suddenly sharpened, but he didn't move, staring directly at the approaching Bao Yuanzi. Bao Yuanzi's arrogant tone completely enraged him.

"Xiao Bai, don't be impulsive." Situ Yangguang, who always had a good impression of Taoists, hurriedly stopped him upon hearing Xiao Bai's intention to fight.

"Don't worry, I'll only exchange blows with him, I won't hurt him. Wu Nai, step aside first, I'll ask the old Taoist for a couple of moves." Xiao Bai said with a smile.

"Want to hurt me? You're not worthy!" Bao Yuanzi glanced at Xiaobai with disdain.

Xiaobai didn't answer, staring calmly at Bao Yuanzi. It wasn't a look of impending attack, but rather one of contempt. This realization flashed through Xiaobai's mind, and the Demon-Slaying Sword rose effortlessly in her hand, its cyan blade flashing...

A burst of spiritual light flowed into the hilt of the sword, instantly illuminating its blade with a dazzling blue light, intertwined with wisps of lightning.

"A fine sword!" Bao Yuanzi, a skilled swordsman himself, couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

The Demon-Slaying Sword and Bao Yuanzi's peach wood sword clashed head-on. At this moment, besides the weapons, the most important factor was the strength of both sides. Almost instantly upon contact, Xiao Bai was forced to retreat continuously until he reached a large tree. He leaned against the tree trunk, barely managing to hold on, but the pressure from the sword was increasing, requiring him to exert all his strength to defend himself. Bao Yuanzi's abilities were truly remarkable; no wonder he spoke with such arrogance.

Wu Nai wanted to rush forward to help, but Sha Wujing waved him off, saying, "Don't rush, observe the situation first."

Red and blue lights intertwined, illuminating two faces locked in a fierce struggle. Just then, Wu Nai finally couldn't hold back any longer and made his move. He raised his hand and placed it at his hairline. With a slight movement of his fingers, a delicate, vibrant rose appeared out of thin air in his black hair, its stem held between his fingers. As

he moved,

petals fell like a rain of petals, instantly filling the North Gate Park with the fragrance of roses.

"Fiery Soul-Hooking Whip!" With Wu Nai's voice, the rose stem, having scattered all its petals, suddenly extended and transformed into a long whip covered in sharp thorns. This was his usual weapon, formed from a rose, invincible and unstoppable.

After the whip took shape, Wu Nai immediately swung it at Bao Yuanzi. The long whip, under his control, was like a living creature.

All of this, though it sounds long, actually happened in the blink of an eye. The Soul-Hooking Whip swept down with a whooshing sound, cutting across Bao Yuanzi's waist. Although Bao Yuanzi was fighting with Xiao Bai, he wasn't using his full strength. Most of his attention was focused on monitoring Wu Nai's actions, after all, that was his real threat.

So he noticed the whip before it even got close. He first deflected Xiaobai's sword with 20% more force, then flipped backward to avoid the whip's reach.

Although the whip missed, Wu Nai immediately changed tactics, giving Bao Yuanzi no chance to breathe. The whip transformed into countless shadows, sweeping towards Bao Yuanzi like a tidal wave.

Meanwhile,

Xiaobai didn't rashly enter the whip's range. Instead, she retreated to the side, sword in hand, watching the fight unfold.

Bao Yuanzi's abilities were already comparable to Wu Nai's, and now with Xiaobai beside him, he had to dodge the countless whip shadows while also being wary of Xiaobai's sudden intervention. This back-and-forth caused his speed to drop, and he was caught off guard by several whips. At this moment, the protective talisman he wore took effect, flashing a bright blue light and forming an oval-shaped shield around his body, shaped like an egg. However, as the whip struck more and more times, the blue light shield began to fade and shrink.

Wu Nai intensified the attack of the Soul-Hooking Whip, further depleting Bao Yuanzi's protective shield's energy. After a few dying flashes, the shield shattered completely. Although Bao Yuanzi had other treasures on him, there was no time to take them out in the face of an enemy. He could only passively rely on the peach wood sword to defend himself. After all, this sword was not a defensive weapon, and soon he was whipped several times. His originally fine Taoist robe was torn in several places, making Bao Yuanzi's already red face even redder with anger, making him look like

a cooked crab.
