[Fantasy] Sun Wukong's Seven-Day Holiday (Complete) - Chapters 37-39

Chapter 348 Going Against Each Other After bidding

farewell to everyone, Wukong and Situ Yu exited the hotel. A taxi passed by, and Situ Yu flagged it down, beckoning Wukong to get in. Wukong smiled and asked her, "Why did you flag down a taxi?"

"To the airport, didn't you say you were in a hurry?" Situ Yu replied.

"Yes, precisely because we're in a hurry, we shouldn't take a car!" Wukong waved for the taxi driver to drive away.

"If you don't take a car, are you going to walk to the airport?" Situ Yu asked疑惑地.

"Flying is too slow, I'm in a hurry! Xiaoyu, close your eyes, and don't open them without my prompting. I'm taking you on a romantic aerial journey," Wukong instructed Situ Yu. Situ Yu, unsure of Wukong's intentions, obediently closed her eyes. Wukong wrapped his right arm around Situ Yu's slender waist and whispered in her ear, "Hold on tight to my waist, don't let go, or you'll fall and it won't be a joke!"

Situ Yu hugged Wukong's waist tightly and whispered, "I know, I won't let go!" Wukong carried Situ Yu onto the somersault cloud. The wind whistled past their ears, their hair fluttered in the wind, and with a distinct feeling of weightlessness, Situ Yu felt like she was flying in the air. Excited and expectant, she asked, "Wukong, are we flying in the air now?"

"Yes, you are flying in the air. Isn't this feeling amazing? Are you scared?" Wukong asked her.

"No! With you by my side, I'm not afraid of anything!" Situ Yu hugged Wukong tightly. In the blink of an eye, Wukong said, "We're here, open your eyes!" Situ Yu opened her eyes and found herself in the familiar Aolai Kingdom.

"Ah, how amazing! Wukong, can you do magic?" Situ Yu asked in surprise. Although she already knew Wukong possessed superhuman abilities, Situ Yu was still greatly surprised to personally experience flying in the sky. She gazed at Wukong with admiration and softly said, "Wukong, the longer I know you, the more mysterious you seem! Sometimes, I feel you're not an ordinary person, but a visitor from outer space!"

"Haha, I am a visitor from outer space!" Wukong chuckled. "Xiaoyu, don't worry about whether I'm from outer space or not. I'll take you to Yang Ru's house to meet her parents. I haven't seen them in a long time; they're a very interesting couple."

"Okay, I also want to meet Yang Ru's parents. Sigh, this incident with Yang Ru must have worried them terribly!" Situ Yu said sadly.

Wukong led Situ Yu for a short while before arriving at Yang Ru's house. They rang the doorbell, but it took a long time for someone to open the door. The woman who opened the door had a full head of white hair and dull, lifeless eyes. She listlessly glanced at Wukong and Situ Yu and asked, "Who are you looking for?"

Wukong immediately recognized her as Yang Ru's mother. He hadn't seen her for over a year, and she had aged so much. Wukong felt a pang of sadness and asked softly, "Auntie, don't you remember me? My surname is Sun, and I'm Yang Ru's good friend!"

Upon hearing this, Yang's mother looked Wukong over carefully for a long time before her lips trembled as she excitedly exclaimed, "Mr. Sun? You're Mr. Sun! That's wonderful! We've been waiting for you so long!" Tears streamed down her face. Wukong helped her into the house, where the hall was cold and lifeless. Wukong helped Yang's mother sit down, looked around, and asked, "Auntie, don't be too sad. You can tell us anything. This is Situ Yu, Yang Ru's college classmate. She's the one who told me about Yang Ru; otherwise, I'd still be in the dark. Where's Mr. Yang? Is he out?"

Yang's mother's tears, which had just stopped, flowed again. She choked out, "Ever since Xiaoru's accident, her father hasn't been able to go to class

. He's been searching for Xiaoru day and night. He says she might be lost, and he has to find his daughter. He's probably on the road searching right now!" Situ Yu's eyes welled up. She could imagine a desperate man wandering aimlessly, searching day and night, tormented by despair and hope. The pain was unbearable, even just imagining it. All this, simply because Yang Ru spoke the truth and offended a powerful figure, had plunged a once happy family into an abyss of suffering.

Through Yang's mother's intermittent narration, Wukong and Situ Yu gained a deeper understanding of what had happened. It turned out that Deputy Director Liu of the police station was an incredibly capable man with immense power and wealth. He reportedly owned an entire street of shops, and his net worth exceeded 200 million yuan. The vast majority of his wealth came from corruption and bribery. Businesses within his jurisdiction had to pay him a hefty protection fee every month. Those who paid remained unscathed, while those who refused were forced to close down the next day. His methods were even more ruthless than those of Boss Xiao from the old gang, Wutong Yeyu.

The Century Club had operated without a license for years without incident because of his protection, from which he had profited greatly. Unexpectedly, a major fire attracted the attention of higher authorities, and various media outlets began their investigation. Through careful investigation, Yang Ru uncovered much previously unknown information about Deputy Director Liu, including his dubious wealth of over 200 million yuan. Yang Ru was the first to expose this on television, and two days later, she disappeared. According to her colleagues, before her disappearance, a criminal police officer had gone to the television station looking for Yang Ru.

"No need to ask, Xiao Ru was detained by the police. But we went to the police station many times to ask, and they neither said Xiao Ru was detained nor that she wasn't. Later, they simply wouldn't let us go to the police station to ask anymore; we were kicked out as soon as we went in. We have no idea whether Xiao Ru is alive or dead. We haven't heard from her for over a year, and I'm afraid she's probably dead!" Yang's mother said sadly.

"This is outrageous! Is there no law?" Wukong gritted his teeth in anger, wishing he could immediately go out and arrest Deputy Director Liu to get to the bottom of things.

"Auntie, don't be too pessimistic. Good people are always protected by heaven. I believe Yang Ru will be alright," Situ Yu comforted him.

Wukong opened his fiery eyes wide, but couldn't see Yang Ru. Could it be that she was locked up in some mysterious place, one that even his fiery eyes couldn't find? Wukong wondered to himself.

Just then, Yang Ru's father opened the door and came in. His hair was gray, his face weathered, and his eyes vacant.

"Old man, look who's here!" Mrs. Yang greeted him, helping him sit down.

"What does it matter who comes? Xiaoru isn't coming back, it doesn't matter who comes," Mr. Yang said weakly.

"Oh, old man, cheer up! It's Mr. Sun! He's Xiaoru's lucky star, haven't you forgotten? Last time Xiaoru was kidnapped by gangsters, it was Mr. Sun who rescued her," Mrs. Yang said.

These words were like a shot of adrenaline for Mr. Yang. He looked up, overjoyed, and walked over, grasping Wukong's hand, saying, "So it's Mr. Sun! That's wonderful! My husband and I have been waiting for you so long, our hair has turned white!" Wukong said in a deep voice, "Uncle, I'm late. Xiaoru has suffered, and you've suffered too!"

"What's a little suffering to us? As long as Xiaoru is alright, we'd be willing to give our lives," Mr. Yang said, tears welling in his eyes. Wukong was deeply moved. He was born out of wedlock, never having experienced parental love and having little understanding of it. However, from the Yang couple, he deeply felt the profound love parents have for their children. This love was more precious than life itself.

"Don't worry, as long as there's a glimmer of hope, I will bring Xiaoru back and give you a complete, lively Yangru!" Wukong comforted them.

"We believe you, Mr. Sun! You are Xiaoru's lucky star!" Yang's father gripped Wukong's hand tightly, unwilling to let go. Tears of gratitude glistened in his cloudy eyes.

"Uncle, searching aimlessly like this isn't very effective, and your health doesn't allow you to travel around so much. Just stay home and leave this task to me," Wukong advised.

“I wasn’t just searching aimlessly. I frequently went to the police station to inquire about Xiaoru’s whereabouts. I reported it to the police, and they accepted my report. I went to the police station every day, rain or shine, for a year now. But the police have gradually become impatient. In recent months, they’ve been kicking me out whenever they see me. They’re so irresponsible,” said Mr. Yang. Wukong didn’t know how to comfort him. It seemed Yang Ru’s disappearance had dealt a devastating blow to him; even this intellectual had lost his composure. It was clear the police were behind this, or that they had detained Yang Ru, yet he still held onto hope for them—it was like playing with fire.

“There’s no need to go to the police station anymore. Yang Ru is most likely being held in a secret place,” Wukong stated bluntly.

"Detained by the police? I had that thought at first too, but then I thought it was impossible. The police have to give the family an explanation when they detain someone, right? They can't secretly imprison them; the law doesn't allow them to do that. The police station is a law enforcement agency; surely they don't understand this basic common sense?" Mr. Yang said doubtfully.

Wukong was speechless for a moment. Yes, in the eyes of ordinary people, the police represent justice and the law. How could their actions possibly contradict the law? No wonder Mr. Yang didn't believe it.

Chapter 349 Terrified

Leaving Yang Ru's house, amidst the surging crowds on the street, Situ Yu's heart was heavy. How many human tragedies were quietly unfolding? How many broken families were weeping in secret? And the cause of these tragedies was simply someone who inadvertently offended the powerful and inevitably got into trouble. She sighed softly and said to Wukong, who was also heavy-hearted, "It's unimaginable that Yang Ru, just an upright reporter, could suffer such a tragic fate. Isn't Aolai Kingdom supposed to be a democratic country? Doesn't it pride itself on freedom of speech? How could this happen? How could this be?"

Wukong reached out and grasped Situ Yu's cold little hand, saying, "Xiao Yu, there are so many injustices in this world, and we have a responsibility to eliminate them. Don't sigh and grieve yet; let's go right now to address the cause of Yang Ru's tragic fate." "If we find the culprit, everything will turn around."

The two arrived at the police station entrance. Wukong transformed into an old man with gray hair and a wrinkled face, startling Situ Yu, who whispered, "Are you Wukong? When did you put on makeup?" Situ Yu had already witnessed Wukong's amazing "makeup skills." When they were filming a movie at Flower Fruit Mountain, Wukong's makeup techniques had already impressed her greatly, so when she saw the gray-haired old man beside her, Situ Yu guessed that it was Wukong in disguise.

Wukong smiled lightly and said, "Little Yu, you have good eyesight. I am Sun Wukong, but now I am the father of Deputy Director Liu, and I've come to the police station to show off."

"Hehe, that's a good idea. It can fool the security guards at the entrance and also give us an advantage. It's killing two birds with one stone."

"How well do I look as an old man?" Wukong swaggered to the security guard's booth with Situ Yu, smiled at the serious-looking guard, and walked straight inside. A security guard stepped forward and stopped them, asking, "Hey, what's the matter? This is a police station. Don't come in and cause trouble if you

don't have something to say." "Cause trouble? Do I look like I'm causing trouble? I'm here on serious business. If I didn't, you couldn't get me here even if you carried me in a sedan chair!" Wukong said disdainfully. The security guard said irritably, "Hey, what kind of VIP are you? Do you need a sedan chair to come to the police station?"

"Hmph, I'm afraid I'll scare you if I tell you, so I'll keep it to myself," Wukong deliberately teased him. The security guard took out a notebook and waved it in front of Wukong, saying, "I don't care who you are, but if you really have something important to say, register in this notebook before you can go in."

Wukong deliberately lowered his voice and said, "To be honest, I can't recognize a single character, let alone write. Since you insist on registering, then go and call my son out so he can fill it out for me." Wukong said with a smile.

"Your son? Who is he?" the security guard asked suspiciously.

"Your Deputy Director Liu is my son of a bitch! That son of a bitch has no conscience! I raised him with great difficulty, and now that he's successful, he doesn't even recognize his old man! He only gives me five thousand yuan a month for living expenses. How can that be enough for me? I'm here to ask him for my living expenses! That son of a bitch is so unethical!" Wukong seized the opportunity to vent his anger.

Hearing Wukong's words, the security guard's expression became extremely humble. Although he hadn't yet confirmed that the old man in front of him was Deputy Director Liu's father, judging from his demeanor, it was highly likely. He absolutely couldn't offend him; if he didn't serve him well enough, Deputy Director Liu would reprimand him, and he wouldn't be able to come to work tomorrow.

"You...you're Deputy Director Liu's father? No wonder you looked familiar. It turns out you and Deputy Director Liu look very alike, both with a prosperous appearance. You're not young, but you're still full of energy and vigor; you don't look like an elderly person at all. You're looking for Deputy Director Liu? Alright, alright, I'll take you there right away. Deputy Director Liu isn't away on business today; he should be in his office." The security guard bowed and nodded, his attitude even more humble than towards his own father.

*Hmph, how quickly he changes his tune* Wukong thought to himself. If it were an ordinary citizen, they probably wouldn't even be allowed to enter the police station. He said, "How could I dare? Aren't you on duty? How can you abandon your post?"

"Hehe, it's alright, it's alright. Serving the leaders is our honorable duty as security guards. However, although we're not very familiar with each other, I can tell at a glance that you're a kind old man. So, I'd like to make a request: could you please put in a good word for me with Deputy Director Liu? My contract is about to expire, and I hope Deputy Director Liu will be lenient and renew it. My family of five depends on this salary for food; I absolutely cannot lose this job!" the security guard earnestly pleaded with Wukong.

Wukong wanted to tell him, "Judging from your attitude just now, you're usually a bully who uses others to intimidate others. You're really not suitable for this position anymore. Going home is your best choice." However, seeing his miserable expression, Wukong didn't want to discourage him too much, so he just said perfunctorily, "Alright, alright, I'll tell you. But let me make this clear first, my son has never been a filial son; he rarely listens to what I say."

Situ Yu, listening nearby, chuckled to himself, thinking that Wukong's acting was quite convincing; he was born to act.

The security guard, on the other hand, seemed to have heard good news and said happily, "It's good that you're willing to tell me. Please. I'll take you to Deputy Director Liu's office right away. Please, please." He secretly glanced at Situ Yu, wondering to himself, "Who is this beautiful young woman? She's definitely not Deputy Director Liu's wife. He'd seen Mrs. Liu before; she was plump like a hippopotamus, always with a gloomy face, as if someone had borrowed five loads of rice and returned only a load of chaff. She's nowhere near as charming as this beauty. Could she be Deputy Director Liu's mistress? Officials always have such good luck with women." The security guard was filled with envy.

The security guard led the way solicitously, quickly guiding Wukong and Situ Yu to the third floor, arriving at the door of Deputy Director Liu's office. The office door was tightly shut. The guard pressed his ear close to the door, listened intently, and then gently knocked. After a long, long time, the door finally opened. A flamboyant woman emerged, her face flushed, head bowed, her clothes disheveled. Her gaze met Situ Yu's at the door. The woman seemed to realize something, assuming her affair with Deputy Director Liu had been discovered, and his wife had come knocking. Her expression became even more flustered; she quickly disappeared, head down.

"What is it?" Deputy Director Liu's plump face appeared in the doorway, his face flushed, but his expression clearly displeased. The security guard inwardly groaned. Damn it, it seemed he'd stepped on a landmine today, ruining Deputy Director Liu's plans. How was he going to live now? But thankfully, he had Old Master Liu's backing; he'd only come to help his father. Perhaps he could make amends? The guard consoled himself.

"I...he..." The security guard, holding Wukong in his hand, said, "He said he's your father and has something to discuss with you! I brought him to your office myself." Seeing that Deputy Director Liu's expression wasn't good, the security guard quickly and solicitously reminded him.

"My father? You bastard, my father has been dead for a long time!" Deputy Director Liu slapped the security guard across the face. Five bright red finger marks immediately appeared on the guard's face.

"Sigh, you son of a bitch, it's one thing to disown this old man, but how can you curse me to death? I want to live another ten or eight years, and why take it out on this security guard? My purpose in coming here is simple: I want you to increase my monthly allowance to ten thousand yuan. You know, prices are high these days, five thousand yuan is really not enough. Anyway, you have plenty of money, so you don't mind giving this old man an extra five thousand yuan a month, right?" Wukong grabbed Deputy Director Liu's right fist, which was about to retaliate. Deputy Director Liu became even angrier and tried to throw his left fist at Wukong, but his fist was grabbed by Wukong's other hand. Deputy Director Liu struggled a few times, but he couldn't break free. Both hands seemed to be firmly clamped by iron clamps, and he couldn't move an inch.

The security guard, standing nearby, assumed the father and son were arguing. He wanted to intervene but hesitated, his face still burning with pain. He resented Deputy Director Liu's cold-heartedness and thought, "Even an upright official can't settle family disputes, let alone someone as insignificant as myself." He decided that the best course of action was to flee before the fire reached him. So, he gave Deputy Director Liu a fawning smile and said, "Director Liu, you and your father should enjoy your time together. I'm leaving now; the post at the gate has been empty for a while."

Director Liu, his face flushed with anger, snapped, "Get out of here! I never want to see you again!" The security guard assumed the deputy director was angry because he had inadvertently witnessed his private affairs. He thought it best to leave quickly while the situation was still tense, and find another opportunity to curry favor later. The security guard turned and slunk away.

"You…you deserve to die!" Deputy Director Liu shouted angrily behind him. The security guard walked even faster, wishing he had two more legs.

Wukong still held onto Deputy Director Liu's fist, grinning as he said, "You little rascal, calm down, calm down. Maintain your leadership style, don't be afraid in this crisis! I came here specifically to see you. As someone of status and position, shouldn't you show some courtesy? Come in, come in, let's have a good talk." With that, he gently nudged Deputy Director Liu, who spun around a few times before collapsing onto the sofa. Trembling, he pulled out his phone from his waist, intending to call for help. Wukong stepped forward, pressing his foot against Liu's chest, saying, "Want to call for help? No way! Don't move, or I'll kill you!" With

a slight increase in pressure, Deputy Director Liu felt a sharp pain in his sternum, making it difficult to breathe. Pale-faced, he pleaded, "I...I won't struggle anymore, let go of my foot, I can't breathe."

Only then did Wukong loosen his grip slightly. Deputy Director Liu finally caught his breath. He stared at Wukong with terrified eyes and said, "You're so strong! If you don't let go, I'll be dead!" Wukong chuckled and said, "Don't worry, I don't want your dog's life yet. If I wanted to, you would have died over ninety times over!"

"You dare kill someone so easily? This is a police station! You can't escape after you kill someone!" Deputy Director Liu still clung to a sliver of hope. After all, this was a police station, his territory; surely the people coming would have some reservations?

"Hmph, so what if it's a police station? In my eyes, a police station is nothing! Do you believe me? I can come and go as I please, and I can raze this place to the ground at any time. If I'm unhappy, this police station's doom is nigh," Wukong said coldly. Yang Ru's experience had left Wukong with a very negative impression of the police. He had secretly resolved that if anything happened to Yang Ru, he would make this corrupt official pay a heavy price.

Deputy Director Liu was terrified. He knew Wukong wasn't joking; his serious expression told him that the old man before him was not only prepared but also ruthless. Trembling, Deputy Director Liu asked, "You...who exactly are you? Why are you impersonating my father? I don't seem to have any past grudges or recent conflicts with you. What is your purpose?"

Wukong gritted his teeth and asked fiercely, "I'm asking you, where is Yang Ru being held?"

Chapter 350 Heaven's Destruction I also

heard Wukong's question. Deputy Director Liu looked extremely flustered. He pretended to be confused and asked, "Yang Ru? Who is she? I don't know her." Wukong stomped down, and Deputy Director Liu let out a pig-like scream.

"It's fine if you're forgetful; all officials are like that, with terrible memories. However, I can give you a hint. That Yang Ru is a TV reporter. A year ago, she exposed your embezzlement and bribery, but she mysteriously disappeared a few days later. You wouldn't be unaware of her whereabouts, would you?" Situ Yu asked him.

"Oh, I remember now, there was such a thing, and such a person. But I really don't know where she is now! You don't suspect me of locking her up, do you? Heavens, I didn't! I swear to God, if I had imprisoned Yang Ru, I would gladly accept your punishment!" Deputy Director Liu cried out in protest.

"Hmph, since you can swear to God, if you're lying, you'll be punished by Heaven," Wukong said with a cold laugh.

"Then, let me ask you, are the issues Yang Ru exposed true?" Situ Yu asked.

"No, no, she exaggerated. How could I have embezzled or taken bribes? I'm a very honest official, all my colleagues can testify to that. As for the supervision of the Century Club, I did have some oversights, but that doesn't mean I'm a protector of unlicensed entertainment venues. Without a vested interest, why would I act as a protector?" Deputy Director Liu argued.

"Hmph, all talk and no action! Seeing is believing. I'll go to your house and see for myself. I don't believe you can hide your true colors so well! You think you can get away with this by not telling the truth? You're wrong. I'll find a way to make you tell the truth." Wukong slapped Deputy Director Liu on the back with his right hand. After a sharp pain, Deputy Director Liu felt his blood stagnate. Even taking a breath felt like his chest was being pulled apart. He opened his mouth wide and cried out in pain. Wukong slapped his mouth, and it seemed as if a pill had gone down his throat and into his stomach.

"You... what did you give me to eat?" Deputy Director Liu asked in horror.

"It's nothing, just a pill."

"Poison? You gave me poison? Oh my god, I'm going to die!"

"How are you? Does your chest feel terrible? Like there's a fire burning inside? Let me tell you, what you just swallowed is the infamous Fiery Thunder Soul-Snatching Pill, filled with ninety-nine kinds of deadly poisons. To save your life, you must take my unique antidote. Otherwise, within twenty-four hours, you'll bleed from all seven orifices, die from the poison, and die a gruesome death!" Wukong made up a name to scare him.

Deputy Director Liu was terrified, his body trembling like a leaf in the cold wind. With a mournful face, he pleaded with Wukong, "Don't poison me! I'll do anything you say to save my life!"

"Hahaha, that's exactly what I've been waiting for! Alright, since you're so obedient, now stand up and take us to your house. Let us see the residence of this honest official." Wukong yanked Deputy Director Liu up from the sofa. However, Deputy Director Liu was so frightened by Wukong that his legs went weak, and he couldn't even stand up, collapsing softly to the ground.

"Useless! How could you be the police chief like this? Sigh, I really don't know how officials in Aolai Kingdom are selected!" Wukong sighed exaggeratedly, then tugged at his clothes to pull him up from the ground, threatening him, "You need to stand up straight. If you fall down again, your blood will rush to your head, and the poison will take effect. Even if I give you the antidote, it won't save your life."

Deputy Director Liu barely managed to steady himself, forcing himself to stand.

"Let's go. Don't think of any tricks. No one can save you; only you can save yourself." Wukong gave him a push, and Deputy Director Liu obediently walked ahead.

Along the way, they encountered several policemen who all greeted Deputy Director Liu respectfully, and he responded to each one, feigning nonchalance. He dared not gamble with his life; the consequences of poisoning were severe, and who would take that risk?

Deputy Director Liu retrieved his car from the garage and drove himself. Wukong and Situ Yu sat in the car, jokingly asking, "Has it been a long time since you've driven yourself, Mr. Liu? How are you?"

"Yes, yes, it's been a long time. It's alright, I guess," Deputy Director Liu replied cautiously, a forced smile plastered on his face.

Upon arriving at the gate, the security guard saw Deputy Director Liu driving himself, with Old Master Liu sitting beside him. He thought to himself, "What father and son can hold a grudge overnight? They've made up, haven't they? It seems I did the right thing by bringing Old Master Liu up earlier; I've earned a small favor. Looks like my contract renewal is secure." The security guard was overjoyed. He raised the automatic barrier at the entrance and said obsequiously, "Director Liu, are you going out?"

Deputy Director Liu was seething with anger, but he couldn't show it now. He just snorted heavily, thinking he'd settle the score later, then stepped on the gas, and the car quietly drove away. The security guard was used to Deputy Director Liu's coldness; he usually wouldn't even hum in greeting. This was the first time he'd actually snorted at him. Wasn't this a clear sign of a drastic change in attitude? Perhaps what awaited him wasn't just a contract, but an unexpected reward! Would he be promoted to the police force, becoming a prestigious and respectable officer? The security guard was happily dreaming.

Deputy Director Liu drove his car carefully, and after about twenty minutes, they arrived at a magnificent three-story villa. He stopped the car, smiling obsequiously, and said, "We're here. This is my humble abode."

"Hehe, your humble abode is quite nice," Wukong said, getting out of the car and looking around at the luxurious villa. "It must have cost a lot of public funds, right?" Deputy Director Liu smiled awkwardly and said, "Not at all, not at all. My wife and I saved every penny we could, scrimping and saving to build this house. We didn't dare buy meat for a whole year to build it."

Situ Yu chuckled, thinking to himself, "This guy really talks big without batting an eye. If someone's treating him to lavish meals every day, of course he doesn't need to buy meat at the market!" Situ Yu laughed and said, "That's the truth. I believe you not only haven't bought meat in a year, but you probably haven't bought it much even after you became an official. People are all scrambling to curry favor with you; they have to make reservations with you to invite you to restaurants, right?"

Going up to the second-floor living room, the furnishings were nothing special, just a bit more luxurious furniture and appliances. Deputy Director Liu chuckled and said to Wukong, "You see, my home is like this, nothing special, right? Also, to prove my innocence, I'll show you my bankbook; there's only two hundred and fifty yuan. Let me show you." Deputy Director Liu hurriedly went into the bedroom. Soon, someone returned, holding a bankbook. He handed it to Wukong, saying, "Look, this is my family's bankbook. There's only two hundred and fifty yuan in it. My family is really poor! Those accusations of embezzlement and bribery are all baseless, completely fabricated! I've been wronged; some people just have ulterior motives! Yang Ru was misled, or at least misled by others. She's an uninformed member of the public. I don't blame her, and I certainly won't lock her up. I have a clear conscience; why would I lock her up?"

Wukong found it utterly ridiculous. A person living in a luxurious villa only had two hundred and fifty yuan in savings? Did they think he was brain-dead? Even a fool couldn't understand that. Wukong chuckled and said, "A fool? Then you should be called a super incorruptible official! That's rare indeed! You're the first foolish bureau chief in Aolai Kingdom, I have the utmost respect for you!"

Deputy Bureau Chief Liu humbly replied, "No need to be so polite. I only did what I was supposed to do. As a high-ranking official in law enforcement, I should lead by example, taking integrity and impartiality as my responsibility, and not knowingly breaking the law. I can understand the prejudice some people in society have against me, but I truly have a clear conscience, and I have done right by the people and the country!"

Wukong almost fainted. How could there be such a shameless person in the world? He could say so many things against his conscience, and what's most remarkable is that he didn't even blush. Wukong opened his fiery eyes wide, looked around, and laughed, "Master Liu, your hiding skills are quite good! As the saying goes, a cunning rabbit has three burrows, you're even smarter than a rabbit!"

"What did you say? I don't understand a word!" Deputy Director Liu looked flustered when he saw Wukong looking around and saying such things, but still pretended to be innocent.

Wukong walked to one side of the living room with a cold smile, stretched out his right foot, and kicked a large hole in the wall, revealing bundles of colorful banknotes, including Aolai currency, US dollars, and many other countries' banknotes, a dazzling array.

"Wow, so much money! Deputy Director Liu, no wonder your bankbook only has 250 yuan, so you have a bank at home." Situ Yu said with a smile.

"Hehe, what's the deal with these banknotes? Don't tell me it's stolen goods that the construction workers buried in your house during construction, trying to frame you!" Wukong teased.

"What...what's going on? How did so much money end up on my walls? I really don't know! I'm going to hand this money over to the government and have the police investigate to see who's trying to frame me!" Deputy Director Liu said, his face pale, trying to sound tough.

"Don't pretend. You have more than this, a lot more, don't you?" Wukong said with a sneer. Then, he leaped up to the ceiling, punched, and opened a large hole in the ceiling. Bundles of colorful banknotes rained down like a shower of petals, covering the floor with a thick layer of cash. Wukong, caught up in the action, grabbed one end of the torn ceiling and ripped it off, sending even more banknotes scattering down.

"Heh heh, how do you explain all this money? Is it another case of someone trying to frame you?" Wukong asked him with a sneer. Deputy Director Liu was utterly defeated, like a defeated rooster, he hung his head in dejection and said, "I've schemed so hard, I thought only heaven, earth, and I knew, but I didn't expect you to know too! Heaven will destroy me! Heaven will destroy me!"

Chapter 351 A Twist of Fate

Mixed among the colorful banknotes were many savings books, both current and fixed deposit accounts. In addition, there were stocks and securities, etc. Situ Yu roughly calculated that this part should be more than 200 million Aolai coins, plus more than 20 million in cash, Deputy Director Liu's wealth was already very substantial.

"Hehe, you're not worthy of the title of honest official. Where did all this money come from? Did you and your wife also save every penny you could find?" Wukong mocked.

Deputy Director Liu was speechless, his face turning red and white, extremely embarrassed. After a long silence, he stammered, "This money...it was all given to me! I don't remember exactly who gave it to me." Situ Yu said coldly, "How much of this money came from the owner of the Century Club?" "I

don't remember the exact amount, but the monthly gift of 200,000 yuan was never less. During holidays, the owner of the Century Club would give me a red envelope. I don't know the exact amount; my wife received it. I generally don't care how much money was in it," Deputy Director Liu answered honestly.

"So, your embezzlement and bribery are all true? Yang Ru didn't wrong you, did she? Her report was all true?" Situ Yu asked again. Deputy Director Liu nodded slightly and said, "I admit, her report was true. The higher-ups took it very seriously at the time, and it almost cost me my job. Fortunately, it involved too many people, including high-ranking officials, so they only conducted a token investigation, and then it was dropped. That reporter, Yang Ru, is too stubborn; she wouldn't let go of this matter. I privately offered her 500,000 yuan as hush money, but she wouldn't budge. Such a reporter is truly rare."

"So you secretly imprisoned her?" Wukong asked coldly. Deputy Director Liu waved his hands repeatedly, saying, "It wasn't me, it wasn't me who imprisoned her. I'm the deputy director of the police station; how could I abuse my power?"

Situ Yu took out her phone and photographed the piles of money, then opened her bankbook to document the event. Deputy Director Liu was shocked and shouted, "Don't take pictures! Don't take pictures!" He lunged forward to snatch Situ Yu's phone, but Wukong grabbed him by the collar from behind and threw him backward. Deputy Director Liu's obese body crashed to the ground with a dull thud, followed by his groans of pain. He felt in horror that several of his fragile ribs seemed broken.

"Tell me quickly, who imprisoned Yang Ru?" Wukong said angrily. "If you don't behave, this day next year will be your death anniversary!"

"I'll talk, I'll talk! If I tell, will I not have to die?" Deputy Director Liu asked tentatively.

"Perhaps, if you're lucky enough," Wukong said sternly. "If you don't tell, you'll die even faster!"

Deputy Director Liu knew his fate was sealed and he couldn't continue to deceive him. If he kept hiding it any longer, his life would be in danger. He had to save his own life first, so he endured the excruciating pain and said to Wukong, "Yang Ru was sent to the US by me. I have an old friend in the US, McKee, a highly respected and enigmatic magician. We've always been close. After Yang Ru exposed my affair, I sent my trusted subordinates to secretly deliver her to McKee in the US. I instructed McKee to treat her well, and she should be living a good life there now." "

McKee? That foreign devil McKee again?" Wukong was certainly familiar with McKee; he had suffered a minor setback in McKee's magic mirror, a memory that remained vivid! No wonder his fiery eyes couldn't find Yang Ru; it turned out she had been sent to the US by that corrupt official surnamed Liu, making her impossible to find.

"You know him too?" Deputy Director Liu asked suspiciously.

"Know him? We're practically friends!" Wukong said with a grin.

"Oh, so you two are old friends? Great! It's like a misunderstanding—we didn't recognize each other! A misunderstanding, a misunderstanding!" Deputy Director Liu smiled broadly at Wukong.

"You're wrong! McKee and I aren't friends, he and I are enemies!" Wukong said coldly. Deputy Director Liu's smile vanished instantly, a chill ran down his spine, and cold sweat poured down his forehead. Oh dear, this is even worse. McKee is his enemy; he's really walked right into a trap.

"McKee…McKee's skills are unfathomable. He's your enemy, you should know that. Don't hurt me, or McKee won't let you off!" Deputy Director Liu knew he was doomed, but still tried to make a last-ditch effort.

"No matter how powerful McKee is, he's in the US. He's too far away to help you. You're still in danger," Wukong analyzed casually. Deputy Director Liu broke down again. They were right. What good was McKee's power? Could he sense that I was on the verge of death?

"Please, don't kill me! Yang Ru is still with McKee; she shouldn't be in any danger. McKee always cherishes women and won't take her life easily," Deputy Director Liu pleaded, adopting a pitiful, dead dog-like expression.

"Even if you didn't kill Yang Ru yourself, I can't let you off easily. Look at all this dirty money on the ground; it tells me what kind of corrupt official you are. Even dying a hundred times wouldn't be enough to atone for your sins!" Wukong, consumed by malice, raised his right foot to end his life.

"Wait! Wukong, don't kill him!" Situ Yu pleaded.

"Why? Everyone should punish such a corrupt official!" Wukong stopped, puzzled, and asked Situ Yu.

“Yes, such a corrupt official deserves to be punished by everyone! So we don’t need to take his life ourselves. Look, I’ve already taken pictures of his crimes with my phone. As long as I release the photos, the people of Aolai Kingdom will definitely not let him off the hook, and he will naturally be punished by the laws of Aolai Kingdom!” Situ Yu said.

Wukong thought about it and agreed. Once the evidence of such a corrupt official’s crimes is exposed, there’s no way to cover it up. In the end, wouldn’t he be doomed anyway? It’s better not to get ourselves dirty. However, the hatred in Wukong's heart had not disappeared. He glared at Deputy Director Liu and said, "I'll remember this kick. If anything happens to Yang Ru, I will not let you off! Even if she loses a single hair, I will hold you responsible!"

Deputy Director Liu had just returned from the brink of death and was secretly grateful to have his life temporarily spared. He nodded hurriedly and said, "Thank you for sparing my life, thank you for sparing my life!" Wukong sneered and said, "Are you deaf or stupid? When did I say I wouldn't kill you? I'm just letting you live a few more days! But while the death penalty is temporarily waived, the punishment is not. You've told too many lies. Be honest and slap yourself. Slap yourself hard."

"I'll slap myself, I'll slap myself!" Deputy Director Liu slapped himself with both hands, the sound crisp and powerful. Soon, blood flowed from the corner of his mouth, but he didn't dare to relax and continued to slap himself vigorously.

"Slap yourself slowly, we're leaving," Wukong said to Deputy Director Liu.

"Wait! You can't just leave like this! Where's my antidote? I don't want to die from the poison!" Deputy Director Liu pleaded from behind.

"Antidote? You don't need the antidote. Slap yourself ten thousand times, and the poison will flow out with the blood in your mouth. So, count it yourself—ten thousand times. No more, no less. Make sure you count correctly. Also, the more blood you bleed from your mouth, the cleaner the poison will be. Good luck!" Wukong encouraged him.

"Start counting now? I've already slapped myself countless times; I haven't counted correctly," Deputy Director Liu said dejectedly.

"Then start counting now. The previous count is invalid," Wukong teased him. Deputy Director Liu believed him and not only vigorously scraped his lips but also earnestly counted, "One, two, three, four..."

Wukong glanced at him disdainfully and said to Situ Yu, "Let's go. Let him concentrate on counting. If he makes a slight mistake, he'll die from the poison. Let's not disturb him." With that, he and Situ Yu exchanged a knowing smile, and the two left Deputy Director Liu's luxurious villa.

"Sigh, it's unbelievable that someone like that can be the head of the police station." Stepping outside, Situ Yu sighed deeply. "Actually, many people who climb to leadership positions aren't both virtuous and talented. Some are virtuous but lack talent, some are talented but lack virtue, and some have neither. This situation exists not only in Aolai Kingdom but is also common in Huaxia Kingdom. With such people managing the country, things can only get worse. What hope is there for the nation?"

"Yes, keeping such corrupt officials not only wastes taxpayers' money but also corrupts the atmosphere of officialdom. If there were more people like Situ Yangguang who truly care about the people in officialdom, I think this society would be saved." Wukong echoed this sentiment.

“But what good is it if Situ Yangguang is kind-hearted and ambitious? He has neither a diploma nor a powerful backer. Even if he were incredibly learned and possessed profound political acumen, he couldn't enter the civil service. Besides, there's only one Situ Yangguang. Even if he rises to prominence in officialdom, it won't make much of a difference. It's like a stagnant pond; if you throw in a pebble, it only creates a ripple, and soon it returns to its original state.” Situ Yu spread his hands and smiled helplessly.

“So, in your opinion, there's no way to change this? You're not that pessimistic, are you?” Wukong asked.

“Yes, unless he has enough power to rise above all corrupt officials, it won't make much of a difference. But reaching that level requires decades of immersion in officialdom; it's not something that can be achieved overnight.” Situ Yu's face remained calm.

"Hehe, that's a long way off. Let's not talk about that depressing topic. Let's find Yang Ru first. I wonder how she is doing, and what that foreign devil McKee will do to her? But at least we have a lead. I will definitely find her," Wukong said firmly.

Chapter 352 Tight Security

in the US. Afternoon. A heavily guarded building.

Ten men in crisp military uniforms sat around a large round table, each with a serious expression. These were all influential figures in the US military, high-ranking officers, currently holding a high-level meeting. McKee, also in a crisp uniform, listened attentively to a report from an officer. The atmosphere was serious, everyone listening intently.

This was the US military command headquarters, a place of global attention, a place shrouded in mystery. For the past six months, the world's media had focused their attention on this building; every move made by the people inside captivated the world's attention.

"General Smith, your report is very detailed. I would like to hear your opinion on my military expansion plan," McKee said to the upright General Smith after listening to the report.

"Yes, Marshal McKee!" Smith said respectfully. "Since you took command of our army, navy, and air force, our military strength has increased unprecedentedly. In just six months, we have annexed five countries, and our territory has expanded considerably. Now our military's prestige is at its zenith; most countries tremble at the mere mention of our name. I propose that our army press on with our victory, extend the battle lines further and further, and establish a great empire unprecedented in history! This opportunity is fleeting, and the chance to unify the world is right before our eyes!"

McKee nodded and said, "Hmm, well said. Does everyone agree with General Smith's words?"

"Agreed! We firmly support Marshal McKee's expansion plan!" The other eight officers unanimously agreed.

"However... there are always some discordant voices in the Senate, and the President seems to have some concerns as well. Moreover, world opinion is not very favorable to us, calling us hegemonic. Hmph, the wheels of history always roll forward, but some people are just overestimating themselves! Our army is invincible!" McKee said passionately.

"Yes, our army is invincible! Marshal McKee is the greatest commander in our military history!" the officers all flattered him in unison. McKee took a large Cuban cigar from the table, lit it, took a deep drag, and let out a smug sigh. His thoughts drifted back to a year ago.

A year ago, McKee experienced a heavy setback in China. He had thought he could control Situ Nan and thus make his mark in China, but he had unexpectedly encountered Sun Wukong. Not only did he lose to Wukong in the battle, but he also almost destroyed the Dream Mirror. It was a complete loss. After returning to the United States, McKee learned his lesson and practiced magic day and night. He not only repaired the Dream Mirror but also made rapid progress in his magic. Three months later, he used magic to control Marshal Yining, the then commander-in-chief of the three armed forces, and took the position himself. Afterward, he cultivated a large number of loyalists, eliminated dissidents, gradually consolidated his position, and gradually undermined the power of the president.

The glorious victories in foreign expansion won McKee the support of the majority of the people of M country, and his prestige grew day by day, with the people's national pride being unleashed like never before. In M country, McKee's status was unparalleled.

Today's secret meeting mainly discussed the feasibility and risks of sending troops to Yiran, an East Asian country.

"Conquering Yiran is a crucial step in our domination of Asia, so it cannot be lost. I believe that with our current military strength, we can take it down in less than a month. The reason for the attack is simple: we can label Yiran a rogue state, and then we can send troops with a legitimate reason. However, there are obstacles. Not only will some countries in the world be eager to act, but there is also considerable resistance within our own country," McKee expressed his concerns.

"No resistance is a problem! In the face of Marshal McKee's powerful army, any resistance can be ignored! Even if the president disagrees, he must respect our military's decision!" an officer said confidently.

McKee was about to praise him when his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID; it was an overseas call from Liu Yan in Aolai Country, an old friend of many years.

"You all continue your discussion, I'll take this call," McKee waved to the other officers, signaling them to continue, and walked aside to answer the phone. McKee wouldn't answer the phone at such an important meeting with anyone else, but Liu Yan was an exception. He was an old friend of McKee's, and had once done him a favor, so McKee respected him greatly.

"Hello, Director Liu? Hehe, it's been a long time since I heard from you. What have you been up to lately?" McKee asked with a smile.

"I… my good brother McKee, I'm calling you from a hospital bed right now. I'm about to die," Deputy Director Liu's voice was anxious and helpless.

"Oh, you went to the hospital? Have you been eating too much lately and have indigestion? Or maybe you were too busy with beautiful women at night and need to go to the hospital to replenish your energy?" McKee thought Liu Yan was exaggerating and joked with him lightly.

"No, I was beaten up. My ribs are broken and I'll be bedridden for a while." Liu Yan's voice was clearly choked with sobs.

"Oh? You're a deputy police chief, who would dare to lay a hand on you? Who would dare to mess with you?" McKee asked in surprise.

"Sun Wukong!"

"Sun Wukong?" Hearing this name, McKee was also taken aback.

"Yes, it's Sun Wukong! She's after that female reporter, Yang Ru! I want to ask you, I handed Yang Ru over to you, is she still alive?" Liu Yan asked hopefully.

"Yes, she's alive. As you instructed, I arranged for her to be in a secluded place."

"Oh, that's great! It seems my life is saved!" Liu Yan breathed a huge sigh of relief.

"What? Did Sun Wukong threaten you?" McKee asked.

"Yes, he not only beat me so badly I'm bedridden, but he also gave me a poison pill. If anything happened to Yang Ru, I would have to die with her. Luckily, she's alright, I don't have to die." Liu Yan almost wanted to cheer. He then said to McKee, "Sun Wukong might come back to demand your return. You need to be on your guard. He seems unfathomable, and I'm a little worried for you!"

"I know. I've dealt with him before and know his methods. I'm not afraid to tell you, I've suffered at his hands before. However, the situation is different now. My skills have greatly improved, and I am now the commander-in-chief of the army, navy, and air force. The power behind me is enough to make the heavens and earth shimmer and the sun and moon lose their light. If Sun Wukong dares to challenge me in G country, the consequences will be dire. Hahaha, I'm just about to get my revenge!" McKee said recklessly.

"Hehe, I hope so. I've also suffered a great loss, and I hope you can avenge yourself!"

"Don't worry! As long as he dares to come, I guarantee he'll find a way in, but not a way out!" McKee said confidently.

"Good luck! I hope you succeed!" Liu Yan sincerely wished him well.

Just as he hung up the phone, the building's alarm blared shrilly.

"Huh? What's going on? Is there a fire?" McKee and the other officers were curious, looking out through the floor-to-ceiling windows. They saw heavily armed soldiers outside, on high alert.

"What happened? Don't panic, stay calm! Can anyone tell me what happened?" General Smith stepped out the door and grabbed a soldier, asking.

"Reporting, General, I don't know either. I just heard the alarm, but I don't know what happened!" The soldier stood at attention and saluted Smith.

Smith looked further into the distance. An officer-looking man led a squad of fully armed soldiers over and saluted, reporting, "Reporting, General! The alarm went off because an uninvited guest broke into the building and triggered the infrared alarm. I've ordered the soldiers to search thoroughly, and we'll have results soon. For safety reasons, please return to the conference hall. I'll assign heavy guards to protect you! Please return to the conference hall immediately!"

Smith quickly returned to the conference hall. The soldiers surrounded the conference hall, remaining fully alert.

"How's it going outside?" McKee asked, a little curious about the tense standoff. This building was known for its tight security; even a mosquito couldn't easily get in. What could have happened?

General Smith relayed the report from the officer to McKee. McKee was secretly shocked. Who dared to venture into this den of thieves? Did they have a death wish?

"Have they caught the intruder?" McKee asked.

"Reporting, Marshal, the soldiers are searching!" the officer replied loudly, straightening his back.

"Searching? Could the intruder have actually infiltrated the building?" McKee found it unbelievable.

"That's possible, sir!" the officer replied. "The alarm is still going off; the intruder should still be inside!"

"Pass down the order: if the intruder is found, kill them on sight!" McKee instructed the officer to relay the order. "Yes! I'll pass the order down right away!" the officer replied, turning to the soldiers standing guard at the door. "Pass down the order: if any intruders are found, kill them on sight!"

"Hahaha, ahaha, a bunch of good-for-nothings! I was just joking with you, and you're all scared like this! Hahaha, Mackey, are you scared?" A loud voice came from somewhere, echoing in the conference hall, irritating everyone's fragile ears.

Chapter 353 The cheerful

laughter reverberated in the conference hall, but no one appeared. The officers and soldiers looked at each other, trying to find the source of the voice, but although they felt the voice was right beside them, they couldn't pinpoint its exact source. A sense of anxiety crept into their expressions.

"Sun Wukong!" Mackey's first thought was that Sun Wukong had arrived. Yes, Mackey recognized that confident voice; it must be Sun Wukong's. But where was he hiding?

"Sun Wukong, I know it's you, the hero! Stop

sneaking around and come out!" McKee deliberately used reverse psychology to provoke Wukong into showing himself. "Hahaha, even though you have a thousand troops, I, Old Sun, am not intimidated at all. What's wrong with showing my face?" With a hearty laugh, Wukong's handsome and extraordinary figure appeared before everyone.

The soldiers pointed their dark gun barrels at Wukong.

"Hehe, there's no need for such a grand welcome. It makes me feel a little embarrassed. McKee, even though we haven't seen each other for a year, you don't need to be so polite. A simple welcome ceremony is fine." Wukong completely ignored the dark gun barrels and smiled calmly at McKee.

Having learned his lesson from Wukong, McKee dared not be careless. He waved for everyone not to fire, then chuckled maliciously and said, "You're quite bold, daring to break into the military command center. I admire your courage. But I want to ask, what are you risking so much to come here for? Just for a small-time reporter like Yang Ru?"

"Hmph, you know why I'm here? It must be that bastard Liu Yan who tipped me off, right? That's right, my purpose is Yang Ru. Also, as far as I know, since you took power in the army, you've been causing trouble everywhere, and five countries have already been invaded by you. Your perverse actions should come to an end. I'm here for the sake of the people!" Wukong said calmly.

"So, even if I release Yang Ru, you won't let it go?" McKee asked coldly.

"It's hard to say. But the first condition is to release Yang Ru! Tell me, where are you holding Yang Ru?" Wukong stared at him with sharp eyes. McKee's heart skipped a beat. The unwavering determination in Wukong's eyes filled him with inexplicable fear—a resolve that wouldn't give up until the goal was achieved. But this was his own territory, and the officers and soldiers were watching. He couldn't afford to lose face.

"Telling you won't hurt, since you're not leaving this building alive today anyway. Yang Ru is inside the Dream Mirror. Don't worry, she won't be lonely. There are many people hindering my progress inside. Perhaps soon you'll be willing to go in and live a muddled life with her?" McKee steadied himself and said firmly.

"Pah! What's your broken mirror? You're using underhanded tricks! I was careless last time and fell for your scheme, but I won't let you succeed this time!" Wukong pulled his golden cudgel from his ear, swung it in the wind, and it transformed into a thick, gleaming golden staff. Pointing at McKee, he shouted, "McKee, even if you lay a trap, I'll capture you alive, rescue Yang Ru, and eliminate you, you warmonger!"

"Heh heh heh, you're too overconfident! Look around, if each of them spat on you, they could drown you. Soldiers, get ready! I'll count to three, and everyone fire! One, two, three, fire!" An officer beside McKee, unable to tolerate Wukong's arrogance any longer, ordered his soldiers to open fire without consulting McKee.

Sniper rifles, submachine guns, and pistols all opened fire on Wukong, and in an instant, he was engulfed in a hail of bullets. But then, something strange happened. The bullets, upon reaching Wukong, all changed direction and scattered in all directions. Soldiers fell in droves, and two bullets whizzed past McGee's ears, turning him pale with fright.

"Stop! Cease fire!" McGee shouted.

The soldiers ceased firing. A deathly silence fell over the conference hall. Looking at the motionless, wounded soldiers lying on the ground, everyone felt a chill run down their spines. It was too insane; someone had actually survived a hail of bullets unscathed and even managed to retaliate using the enemy's weapons. Was he an extraterrestrial? A mysterious creature from a UFO?

McKee, finally recovering from his shock, slapped the officer beside him, yelling, "You bastard! What kind of orders did you give without my permission? You almost got me shot!"

The officer, having taken the slap, protested, "I...I just wanted to kill him, but he's completely indifferent to bullets!" He felt wronged; he'd wanted to make a name for himself, but his good intentions had backfired, causing significant losses for his soldiers. Seeing

everyone had stopped firing, Wukong, seemingly still wanting more, chuckled and said, "Come on, why did everyone stop? I want to play a little longer!" The

surrounding soldiers stared at Wukong with terrifying eyes, guns raised, but none dared to fire again.

"Play? Sure, I'll play with you." McGee pulled out his Dream Mirror from his chest, raised his right hand, and shone it on Wukong. Wukong felt a huge suction force coming towards him. Without thinking, Wukong quickly jumped up, a white light shooting out from the hall and disappearing in the blink of an eye.

"Wow, that was close! Luckily I dodged quickly, otherwise I would have been hit again. I didn't expect that in just one year, McGee's magic mirror would be repaired to its original state, and it even seems to be more powerful. I don't know if the power of the magic mirror has increased, or if McGee's own skill in wielding the magic mirror has increased. It's definitely not easy to deal with." Wukong flew straight to a hotel room. Situ Yu was not in the room, but he could hear the sound of water coming from the bathroom. He guessed that Situ Yu was taking a shower. Wukong lay down on the bed, racking his brains for a solution.

First, he had to find a way to steal McGee's Dream Mirror. Without the magic mirror, McGee was definitely no match for him. However, McKee treasures this magic mirror like a precious gem, even sleeping with it on his chest. And now, as the commander-in-chief of the three armies, he's constantly under heavy guard. Getting close to him undetected is no easy feat.

Just now, he had become invisible, thinking he could approach McKee unnoticed, but the alarm went off—it must have triggered a high-tech system. Luckily, Wukong had foreseen the difficulty and arranged for Situ Yu to stay at a hotel until his return. Taking Situ Yu with him would be troublesome.

Stealing it while invisible doesn't seem feasible; he needs a more foolproof plan to steal McKee's magic mirror.

As Wukong was deep in thought, he heard the bathroom door open and Situ Yu emerged. Perhaps she hadn't expected Sun Wukong to suddenly appear in the room, so after her shower, she simply draped a large bath towel over her smooth, full body and casually came out.

Situ Yu was drying her wet hair with the towel when she looked up and saw Wukong lying on his side on the bed, smiling at her.

"Ah..." Situ Yu almost screamed. She thought a burglar had broken in and was startled, but after seeing that it was Wukong, her wildly beating heart calmed down, her high breasts heaving rapidly. She said coquettishly, "Wukong, you scared me to death! How did you come in so quietly! Wait, you didn't bring your key, how did you get in?"

Wukong chuckled and said, "My former profession was locksmithing. What door can stump me? In my eyes, all locks are just for show." As Wukong spoke, his eyes still brazenly stared at Situ Yu. After her bath, Situ Yu was incredibly beautiful, like a lotus just emerging from the water, delicate and alluring. Her face was flushed, and her curvaceous figure was faintly visible beneath the towel. Even with his strong willpower, Wukong couldn't help but be captivated by such beauty.

"Have you looked enough?" Situ Yu asked, blushing slightly. Her expression became even more shy, her eyes lowered, not daring to look at Wukong again.

"No! I can't get enough of looking! Xiao Yu, you're so beautiful, even more beautiful than the fairies of Heaven!" Wukong didn't take his gaze off her. He couldn't think of any adjectives to praise her, but at this moment, Situ Yu truly was more beautiful than a fairy, and Wukong simply spoke his honest feelings.

"Hehe, here we go again. Do you know many beauties from Heaven? Tell me, between me and a fairy, which one do you prefer?" Situ Yu asked shyly, her head lowered, and sat down bashfully beside Wukong. A faint, intoxicating fragrance, unique to young girls, wafted over.

"Xiaoyu, I'm about to have a nosebleed," Wukong said.

"Really? Show me what you look like when you have a nosebleed." Situ Yu moved closer to Wukong, her breath sweet and fragrant. Her bathrobe unintentionally slipped open, revealing a patch of her snow-white breasts, her alluring cleavage exposed before Wukong.

"Wukong, Wukong..." Situ Yu's arms wrapped around Wukong's neck, her lips softly calling his name. These soft calls, like celestial music, resonated in Wukong's ears, stirring his heartstrings and creating ripples in his usually calm heart. At that moment, his eyes were only for Situ Yu's red, fragrant lips, his heart only for her tenderness...

But then, Yang Ru's beautiful image flashed through Wukong's mind. What kind of torment was Yang Ru enduring at this moment?

Chapter 354 Reencounter with Adele in a Foreign Land

The moonlight was like water. In the stillness of the night, on the streets of a city in the US, Wukong wandered alone in this foreign land. His mind was preoccupied with Yang Ru, and he couldn't think of a good solution. Wukong's mood was like the moonlight, cold and lonely.

Suddenly, a terrified cry for help drifted on the breeze. Judging from the voice, it was a woman's, mixed with a series of strange, cacophonous laughs.

A midnight pervert? Wukong's first thought was that he had encountered a pervert. He deeply abhorred perverts who assaulted women, especially in his current state of mind. He leaped into the air and flew straight towards the source of the sound. On a quiet street, the scene before him ignited his fury.

A tall, blonde woman was being harassed by three burly black men. Although she was resisting their advances with her head down, Wukong couldn't see her face clearly, but judging from her alluring figure, she was a young blonde beauty. Her beautiful blonde hair was disheveled, clearly from a struggle; her sexy dress was almost pulled down, revealing her bare back and bra straps. A red sedan was parked nearby.

"Hey girl, resisting is futile. It's late at night, who's going to come to your rescue? Since you can't resist, just close your eyes and enjoy it!" one of the black men said lewdly, pinching her cheek. The other two laughed unrestrainedly.

"Look, the police are coming!" The blonde woman pointed into the distance, trying to distract the three men so she could escape. As the three men turned to look back, the blonde woman took off running. However, after only two steps, her dress was grabbed by a burly man, and with a rip, it was torn open, revealing her underwear.

"Hahaha, a red bra, black lace panties, oh, so alluring. Want to leave? Not so easy! Let the three of us brothers satisfy you first, then you can go! Come on, baby, let me hug you." A lecherous man walked over, stretched out his hands, and pounced on her with his eyes closed. Haha, finally caught her, he chuckled and groped the beauty.

"Tch, black guy, we're all men, what are you groping me for?" a man's voice rang out. The black man was startled. He had just been hugging a beautiful woman, how did it turn into a man in the blink of an eye? He opened his eyes wide and saw that the person in front of him was indeed a man, while the blonde woman was pulled aside, glaring angrily at them.

"You... who are you? How dare you ruin our good time, are you tired of living?" the black man shouted angrily, bluffing. The other two black men surrounded her, assuming a fighting stance.

"Yes, I'm getting tired of living. I'm unemployed, penniless, and haven't eaten for a week. It's worse than death! Please, just kill me!" Wukong said, feigning melancholy.

"Damn, what bad luck! Running into a clueless guy like this is such a downer! Fine, since you want to die, the three of us brothers will grant your wish!" The three men rushed forward, leaping high and raising their fists, each the size of a bowl, to smash down on Wukong's head. Three crisp strikes rang out, followed by three piercing screams.

The three black men clutched their right fists with their left hands, their faces contorted in agony. Their right hands were probably shattered.

Hearing the screams, the blonde woman turned around, her eyes widening at the sight before her. Looking more closely at Wukong, she almost cried out in shock.

"What's wrong with you guys? Come help me! I want to die!" Wukong pleaded pitifully.

Three black men simultaneously drew gleaming daggers from their waists, glaring fiercely at Wukong.

"That's right, that's more like it! Help someone to the end, see them through to the end! Hurry up and do it, I can't wait, I want to die quickly!" Wukong said with a pained expression.

The three gleaming daggers lunged at Wukong simultaneously.

"Ah..." the blonde woman exclaimed. But a strange thing happened: although the three daggers were clearly aimed at Wukong, as if by some strange twist of fate, they each stabbed themselves. With three muffled groans of pain, the three burly men collapsed to the ground, like three fat pigs falling, each with a dagger stuck in their stomach, blood slowly flowing out—a bizarre and terrifying scene.

"Sigh, you're really not loyal. I told you to help me commit suicide, but you went first. So selfish, so selfish!" Wukong said regretfully. As soon as he finished speaking, a figure pounced on him, hugging him tightly and planting a hard kiss on his cheek. Wukong felt himself being embraced by a fragrant body; the voluptuous body of a blonde woman pressed against him, her excited voice whispering in his ear, "Sun Wukong! Is it really you, Sun Wukong?"

"You...who are you? I...I don't think I know you?" Wukong felt two soft, high mounds pressing against his chest, warm and comforting. They say Western women are open and bold, and that's certainly true! He never imagined that making a movie would even gain him fans overseas. It's truly remarkable.

"Miss, could you loosen your grip a little? I can't breathe," Wukong said with a laugh. The blonde beauty released her embrace, took a step back, and looked at Wukong with surprise, saying, "Sun Wukong, look closely, I'm Adele, from Aolai Kingdom. I went to Aolai Kingdom with James, do you remember?"

Wukong looked closely and, sure enough, the blonde woman before him was Adele. He had met her a few times back in Aolai Kingdom when she accompanied James to the Century Club for boxing. He never expected to run into her here; what a small world!

"Hehe, it really is you, Miss Adele. What a coincidence to meet you in this environment; our fate is quite something," Wukong said, almost bursting out laughing as he sized her up. Adele's dress had been ripped off by the three black men, leaving her only in sexy lingerie. Her fair, smooth skin appeared even more delicate and white under the dim streetlights, a stark contrast to the three black men slumped on the ground.

Adele noticed Wukong staring at her and looked at herself, feeling a little embarrassed. "Sorry for the commotion," she said, "it's all these three black men's fault!" With that, she walked over and kicked one of the black men. The black man, who had just woken up in pain, was knocked unconscious again by Adele's kick.

"What bad luck! My tire blew out here. I was just about to get out and check when these three black guys started bothering me. Luckily I ran into you, or I would have been humiliated by them!" Adele thanked them sincerely. Then, she walked to the red sedan, opened the door, took out a new dress, put it on, and stood gracefully in front of Wukong, asking, "Does it look good? I just bought it today, it'll come in handy!"

Wukong had to admit, Adele was indeed very beautiful. She had the tall figure of a Western woman and the fair, smooth skin of an Eastern woman. The well-fitting dress accentuated her high breasts, making her look vibrant.

"Hmm, not bad, Adele's charm is extraordinary! Even a monk would get a nosebleed!" Wukong exclaimed sincerely.

"Hehe, I thought you didn't know how to compliment others. Seeing your usually serious demeanor, it turns out you're quite the smooth talker." Adele smiled brightly. Women all like to be praised, especially beautiful women.

"Don't you practice your martial arts regularly? How come you were outmaneuvered?" Wukong asked her with a smile.

"I only practice fancy moves, useful against weak men, but useless against strong opponents. Look at these three guys, they look like three black bears. How could a weak woman like me be a match for them? I was defeated after only a few rounds. Sun Wukong, you're so skilled, could you teach me a move or two, so I can be cool when I encounter a pervert?" Adele pleaded.

"We'll see. I have no experience teaching girls martial arts. I haven't even learned those fancy moves yet, how can I teach you? It's different if you're a man." Wukong declined with a smile.

"Then just treat me like a boy and teach me. Look, don't I look a bit like a boy?" Adele straightened her back and raised her head.

Wukong almost fainted. Adele, head held high and chest puffed out, her two jade-like breasts seemed about to burst from her tight dress. "Do boys have such big chests?

" Wukong teased her. "They do look somewhat alike, with noses and eyes. They do have the potential to learn martial arts. But don't puff your chest out like that, or even if you learn the best martial arts, it won't be useful. All the perverts in the world will be chasing after you. What will you do then? These three unlucky guys are the best example." Adele laughed

heartily, glancing at the three unlucky guys on the ground. "Serves them right for being unlucky enough to run into a peerless master like you. But we still need to leave here quickly, otherwise, if the patrolling police find us, we might be in trouble. Since you entered the country as a tourist, right? Oh dear, my tire is flat, I can't drive. What should I do? I can't just leave the car here and run away, that would give the police evidence! They'll think I killed someone and ran away!"

Heh heh, I'm an illegal immigrant, not even a tourist, Wukong chuckled inwardly. However, he couldn't very well say that to Adele; it would scare her. Wukong smiled calmly and said, "So what if they're tourists? I didn't lay a hand on them. From beginning to end, I didn't have any physical contact with them. They were stabbing themselves with knives; I couldn't control them!"

Just then, a patrol car with flashing lights slowly pulled up. The police car stopped beside Wukong and his

companions

. Two burly black police officers got out, looked at the three black men lying on the ground, and asked, "What happened? Can you two tell us what just happened?"

"We were driving by and saw three people lying on the ground, so we got out to see if they needed help," Adele replied calmly. The two police officers stared at Adele for a long time, her youthful energy making them somewhat uneasy.

"Is there something wrong?" Adele asked with a hint of disdain. Two policemen's lecherous gazes lingered on Adele's high, firm breasts, their heat palpable. Adele could feel it and felt a wave of nausea.

"Oh, nothing's wrong. Heh, the night's quite nice tonight," one policeman chuckled.

"Really? How are they?" A black policeman walked over, squatted down, and patted one of the thugs lying on the ground on the face, asking, "Hey, how are you feeling? Can you answer my questions? Hey, wake up, wake up, say something!" But the man didn't respond at all; he was still unconscious. How could he answer his questions?

“They all seem to be unconscious, badly injured. Strange, all three are as strong as oxen, yet they all have knives stuck in their stomachs. Who has the ability to handle them? But they're still breathing; they probably won't die anytime soon. Call an ambulance to take them to the hospital.” Another policeman quickly pulled out his walkie-talkie and called an ambulance: “Hello, headquarters? Three black men on Nora Street are seriously injured and unconscious, needing immediate medical attention. Please send an ambulance immediately!”

The policeman squatting on the ground picked up the torn dress and asked, “Miss, is this your dress?” While asking the question, his eyes were looking up at Adele's two long, white legs exposed beneath her dress.

“It…it’s not mine. Look, my clothes are perfectly fine,” Adele replied.

“Alright, we need to check your identification documents. It’s routine. Since you are the only ones present, we have reason to suspect you are involved. Please show us your ID.” The policeman squatting on the ground reluctantly withdrew his gaze from under Adele’s skirt and straightened up. However, he didn’t believe Wukong was responsible for this at all; judging from his refined appearance, it couldn’t be him.

Adele went back to the car, took out a small bag, took out an ID card, and handed it to the policeman, saying, “Take a close look. I’m a law-abiding citizen.” The policeman took it and examined it for a while, finding nothing wrong. He then asked Wukong, who was standing nearby looking relaxed, “Where’s your ID card, sir?”

“I don’t have one,” Wukong answered directly.

“You don’t have one?” The two policemen immediately became alert and shouted, “Turn around and put your hands above your heads!”

“Why?” Wukong asked disdainfully.

"Why? Do police officers need a reason to investigate a case?" Just as the police were about to explode, Adele came over and said to Wukong, "Darling, did you forget your ID card at home today? Sigh, you can't seem to shake this forgetfulness. I've told you so many times!" Saying this, she affectionately pressed her alluring, voluptuous body against Wukong and said to the two policemen, "He's my husband. He forgot his ID card. Maybe I can show it to you next time?"

The two policemen were practically drooling, both regretting that it wasn't them they were being snuggled against. One policeman said to Wukong, "No, you must see his ID. Here's what we'll do: you go back and get his ID right now, and the woman stays."

"Okay, I'm leaving!" Wukong saw a flicker of panic in Adele's eyes and quickly gave her a knowing look, then whispered in her ear using his telepathic abilities, "Don't worry, they won't dare do anything to you." Wukong turned and left, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

"Heh, this kid runs pretty fast. Who knew an Asian could run this fast? I wonder if he coached Liu Xiang, the world hurdling champion?" One policeman rubbed his eyes, speaking incredulously.

"Fear has taken over his mind, of course he runs fast. Asians are all cowards!" another policeman said disdainfully.

"I guarantee he won't dare turn back!"

"That's just what we wanted. Hehe, we're in for a treat tonight."

The two men whispered maliciously. Two pairs of shifty eyes lingered on Adele's high, firm breasts, wishing they could immediately strip off the clothes covering her ample bosom for a feast for the eyes.

"Hehe, beautiful, your so-called husband won't be coming back, I can guarantee you!"

"Why?"

Judging from your behavior just now, I saw you were deliberately acting. Your only purpose was to cover up that he didn't have an ID card, right? He's actually a complete illegal immigrant! "One of the policemen said smugly.

Adele fell silent for a moment. So they had a purpose in sending Sun Wukong away.

"You just wanted to scare him away so you could do whatever you wanted?" Adele said angrily.

"Yes, you're very smart. That's what we thought, and that's what we did." Those two guys were truly shameless.

"As for our purpose, you're a smart person, you should have figured it out, right?"

"Of course I can guess. Your intentions are no different from those three guys. You're all a bunch of lustful black dogs!" Adele cursed.

"Haha, calling us black dogs? That's racism! Let me tell you, you're not only suspected of intentional assault, but also of racism! Haha, you white woman think you're superior, today we'll let you taste the proud valor of black people." A policeman laughed and walked over, grabbing Adele tightly in a hug.

Adele, furious, struggled a few times but couldn't break free, so she pulled her hand away and slapped the policeman across the face.

"Heh, you're quite the shrew, I like shrewish women like you!" The policeman, enjoying the woman's fullness in his arms, wasn't angry at all after the slap; he seemed to be enjoying it. The more Adele struggled, the more excited he became. Adele's face flushed red with anger, her full breasts heaving with rage. The policeman, seemingly lost in ecstasy, chuckled and said, "Baby, you don't need to struggle anymore. Just submit to us, and tonight's events will have nothing to do with you. Come on, let your brother touch you." He opened his large hand to reach for Adele's breasts.

"Get your filthy hands off me!" Suddenly, Wukong appeared beside Adele, grabbed the policeman's clothes, lifted him high, and threw him back to his companion. "Heh heh, you really have ulterior motives!" "I wasn't wrong. Leaving my beautiful wife here is no different than throwing a sheep into a pack of wolves!" Wukong said to the policeman with a cold smile.

The policeman, who had been thrown to the ground, struggled to his feet and said viciously, "I hate Asians, I hate them terribly! I have every reason to believe that you injured those three black brothers on the ground, that's for sure! No need to go back for your ID, just come with us to the police station for questioning! As for this lady, you won't be spared either, you'll have to come with us too. You two turn around, hands up, we need to search you for offensive weapons."

Adele looked a little flustered, and Wukong used telepathy to tell her, "Don't panic, two black dogs, I'll handle them." Adele looked at Wukong with trusting eyes and gave him an encouraging smile.

"Did you hear me? Put your hands on your heads and turn around!" the two policemen shouted, drawing their guns and pointing them at Wukong.

"I despise people who draw their guns at the drop of a hat, so I despise you!" "Wukong launched a flying kick, his right leg extending terrifyingly, striking two policemen more than five meters away squarely. The two policemen groaned, their bodies flying thirty or forty meters like two kites with broken strings, unable to get up again.

"Hehe, two more black dogs. Remember, this is your punishment for your lust!" Wukong clapped his hands and said disdainfully.

Adele looked at Wukong with infinite admiration and said happily, "Sun Wukong, you are too powerful! I have never seen such a master in my life!"

"Hehe, it's not that I'm too strong, it's that they are too useless, they can't even withstand one kick." Wukong chuckled.

"However, trouble is coming soon. The police have already called an ambulance, it should be on its way. My car has broken down, what should I do?" Adele was a little anxious.

"Is there something wrong with your car? I'll go take a look." Wukong walked over, gently patted the flat rear tire, and said, "It's okay, you can go now."

Adele rushed over upon hearing this and, miraculously, the flat tire was no longer flat at all. "

Huh? What happened? I clearly heard the sound of a tire bursting, wasn't it? But I got out and checked, and it was definitely the rear tire that burst." Adele looked astonished.

"Maybe you misheard, or you're seeing things? It's perfectly fine, isn't it?" Wukong pointed to the rear tire.

Adele could only accept this explanation. She muttered to herself, "Sigh, what a false alarm! If I had known this would happen, none of this would have occurred! But I'm so glad, if I hadn't run into these three unlucky guys, I wouldn't have met you here." She opened the car door, invited Wukong to get in, and said, "Let's go quickly, or we'll be too late!"

Chapter 356 Temptation

Adele's home was a three-bedroom apartment, elegantly furnished, exuding a warm, feminine atmosphere.

"Please come in, this is my home." Adele gestured for her to enter.

"You live alone?" "Wukong looked around the spacious hall and asked. The comfortable environment was refreshing and eye-catching.

"Of course, I'm single. Living alone is very free, and I enjoy it. In our country, young people like to live separately from their parents. It's a free living environment and helps them develop independent living habits. This is different from you Easterners. As far as I know, you Easterners like to live with your whole family. Three or four generations living together is very common. It's hard to imagine," Adele said.

"But don't you think living with your parents is less lonely? At least you don't have to cook for yourself!"

"I like cooking. I enjoy the pleasure of cooking for myself," Adele shrugged and said sincerely. Adele was a straightforward girl with a rather unique personality. In modern society, it's rare to find a girl who likes to cook.

Wukong sat down on the large sofa in the living room.

"Coffee or a drink?" Adele asked.

"A pot of hot tea, please."

"Hot tea? We don't have any." "Let's have some red wine to calm my nerves. I was scared twice by those two groups of black guys, it terrified me." Adele took a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet, sat down next to Wukong, and said, "Hehe, I'm lucky tonight, I actually found a bottle of red wine, it must be some old stock."

"Hehe, it's not easy for a girl to have red wine at home, you usually like to have a drink or two, right?" Wukong asked with a smile.

"No, no, I don't usually drink at all, my only hobby is eating snacks. Wait a minute, let me see if I have any more snacks?" Adele turned and went into the room, and quickly came back with a huge pile of snacks in her hands, potato chips, plum cookies, squid strips... a wide variety, dazzling.

"Your family must own a small shop, with so many snacks in the room." Wukong said with a smile.

“Let me tell you a little secret, sometimes when I’m too lazy to cook, these snacks come in very handy.” Adele poured Wukong a glass of red wine and one for herself. “Sun Wukong, thank you so much for saving me today! You’re not only incredibly skilled, but also very kind.”

“It was just a coincidence, I was just passing by.” Wukong clinked glasses with her and smiled casually.

“Aren’t you in Aolai Country? Coming to the US for tourism?” Adele said generously. “Are you staying at a hotel? Check out of the hotel tomorrow and stay at my place. Stay as long as you like, even forever.”

Wukong chuckled inwardly. Western women are so straightforward. If a girl said something like that in China, it would be easily misunderstood; people might think she was making a declaration of love.

“I came with a girl, she’s staying at a hotel.”

“Your girlfriend?”

“Situ Yu, my female friend. You’ve met her.”

“Really? That pretty girl Situ Yu is here too? I like her, I really want to see her right away!” Adele was delighted.

“You’ll see her soon. We’re not here for tourism; to be honest, we’re here to find someone,” Wukong told the truth.

“Find someone? Who are you looking for?” Adele asked.

“Yang Ru, a female reporter. She’s been imprisoned by McKee,” Wukong explained the situation to Adele. Adele’s eyes widened in surprise. “You mean McKee, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Navy, and Air Force? I was quite familiar with him a year ago, but we haven’t been in touch for a long time. I haven’t seen him since he became Commander-in-Chief.”

“Really? You had a relationship with him?” Wukong asked, intrigued.

“Not just a casual relationship. McKee pursued me, but I didn’t like him. I learned from friends that he’s a womanizer, so I kept my distance. He pursued me for two months without success, and then gave up.” Adele recalled her experience from a year ago, her face still showing indelible disgust.

“Oh, so that’s the story. So, how did McKee, a mere magician, rise to the position of Commander-in-Chief in just one year?” Wukong asked, puzzled.

“There are many rumors circulating. Some say McKee killed the former Commander-in-Chief and seized power. Others say the former Commander-in-Chief didn’t die, but was simply controlled by McKee and temporarily imprisoned in a secret place. However, regardless of the rumors, the result is that McKee did indeed seize command of the army, thus controlling the entire country. The current government is essentially a puppet government of McKee. McKee is expanding wildly, igniting wars everywhere, and invading extensively, surpassing even Hitler, the warmonger, in his ambitions. Everyone knows his ambitions, but his power is too great; no one can shake his decisions,” Adele told Wukong.

“Then, is there no one in the entire country who dares to do anything to him? Like, offer advice or something?” Wukong asked.

“Offer advice? McKee's an arrogant guy. Anyone who dares to express a different opinion will definitely suffer the consequences. Besides, he's very protective of himself, surrounded by skilled fighters. It's difficult for ordinary people to get close to him.”

“That's true. This guy is very cunning; he probably even sleeps with his eyes wide open.” Wukong expressed his deep agreement.

“So, rescuing your reporter friend will be quite difficult.” Adele said worriedly.

“It is difficult, but not impossible. I once went into the military headquarters building, but I couldn't succeed.” Wukong said with a smile.

“Really? Sun Wukong, you're really brave. That place is heavily guarded, supposedly watertight. You actually dared to break in and get out unscathed. It's unbelievable.” Adele's mouth dropped open in astonishment. Wukong chuckled and said, "Getting close to him isn't a big problem, but that Dream Mirror of McKee is too difficult to deal with. One wrong move and you'll be sucked in. I learned that the hard way back in China."

"I heard it's McKee's most powerful treasure. He carries it with him everywhere, even to bed," Adele said.

"Exactly. I suspect Yang Ru is likely being held captive there temporarily, so I'm trying to steal it out. That way, McKee will be helpless. But McKee is heavily guarded; we'll have to lure him out," Wukong pondered.

Adele downed her glass of red wine in one gulp and said heartily, "That's easy. I'll lure him out. I know McKee's weakness; he's very lecherous. I'll give him some hints, and he might fall for it."

"But… that's not good. It seems a bit much to involve you. What if it doesn't work? Let's think of a foolproof plan," Wukong objected.

"Don't worry, even if it fails, I'll just run away with you! Besides, I can't stand what McKee is doing. This warmonger, if he keeps going like this, how many lives will be lost? If I can help you get rid of him, I'll have done a great service to the country, and I'll become a national hero!" Adele said righteously.

Wukong was deeply moved. For a woman to have such awareness, Adele was truly insightful and admirable.

"So, what's your plan? Do you think McKee will fall for it? After all, you haven't seen each other for a long time," Wukong asked doubtfully.

"Yes, I know McKee. He was very passionate when he pursued me, and my rejection was a huge blow to him. If I take the initiative to be nice to him now, he'll feel he's regained face, and his confidence will swell to an extreme. I believe he'll find it hard to resist the temptation. The more successful a man is, the more he wants to prove he's omnipotent and invincible, right?"

"Good analysis, I hope so. But it's too much of a burden for you to deal with such a despicable person," Wukong said, moved.

“I think it’s worth it. Just for saving me twice tonight, I have to do something for you. Don’t be shy, we’re even, we owe each other nothing.” Adele said easily, then found a large notebook in the bedroom, flipped through it for a while, and said happily, “Luckily, I still have McKee’s phone number. I’ll call him now and ask him to come

over.” Adele dialed a number and called McKee. McKee answered quickly.

“Hello, who is this?” McKee asked sleepily.

“This is Adele, McKee, are you asleep?”

“Adele, it’s Adele? I’m so surprised, it’s you calling me? My goddess, I’m so honored, I’m so excited…”

A sweet female voice asked from the side, “Whose call is this? So late, so annoying.” McKee covered the phone and whispered, “Shut your stinking mouth, or get lost!”

The sweet female voice immediately stopped.

“Hello, darling, why aren’t you saying anything?” Adele clearly heard their conversation and asked deliberately.

“Oh, a mosquito was bothering me just now, I swatted it dead, how annoying! My goddess, I hope that wretched mosquito didn't spoil your good mood! I'm so glad you still remember me…” McKee said happily.

“Darling, you're a great man, I didn't realize it before, so I've been regretting it for the past six months, I regret missing such a great opportunity. I want to see you, now,” Adele said in a seductive voice. ( Chapter 357,

April 25th)

After hanging up the phone, Adele smiled gently at Wukong and said, "The fish has taken the bait, now it's up to you. McGee will be here soon, so get ready. There's a large wardrobe in my room; you can hide there and play it by ear." Adele seemed relaxed, but deep down she wasn't sure. McGee wasn't the same McGee from a year ago; now he had a massive army. What would happen to her if the plan failed? Therefore, her expression was somewhat grave.

Wukong was well aware of Adele's worries. To reassure her, Wukong smiled and said, "Adele, are you a little scared? Don't be afraid, my hiding skills are excellent. Most people won't notice me, and McGee won't find me either. See, can't you see me anymore?" As he spoke, Wukong vanished without a trace.

"Huh? Where did you go? Sun Wukong, where are you?" Adele asked curiously. It was strange; a living person had simply disappeared into thin air.

"I'm here," Wukong reappeared, sitting comfortably on the sofa, smiling at Adele.

“Wonderful, truly wonderful! Sun Wukong, your magic is amazing, far more amazing than David's. Is that the legendary invisibility magic?” Adele exclaimed excitedly.

“Maybe, I can become invisible at will. When Mackey arrives, don't panic, I'll be there to protect you, you won't be in any danger.” Wukong smiled easily.

“Okay, I have faith in you. Sun Wukong, you are the strongest person I know, from this moment on, you are my idol!” Adele gazed at Wukong with boundless admiration.

Just then, the roar of an airplane came from downstairs. Adele looked out the window, her anticipation mixed with excitement, and said, “Here he comes, Mackey is here. Look, it seems that guy has brought an army.”

Wukong also looked out the window, and saw an Apache helicopter slowly land on the open ground below, its roar breaking the silence of the night. More than twenty fully armed soldiers disembarked from the helicopter, spreading out in a circle to surround it. McKee was the last to leisurely disembark, wearing large sunglasses and looking like a mafia boss.

"Heh, how impressive! Even on a date, he brings an army. McKee's really cool!" Wukong whispered to Adele.

"This isn't a huge force. I thought he'd bring a reinforced brigade. McKee doesn't seem wary at all; tonight's plan might succeed," Adele whispered back.

Soon, the doorbell rang.

"Coming. I'll open the door; you stay hidden," Adele said to Wukong, then gently kissed him on the cheek before calmly getting up to open the door.

"Don't worry, I'm here with you," Wukong encouraged. Then, he transformed into a tiny mosquito, flew out the window, and peered inside through the glass.

Adele opened the door, and McKee was the first to walk in, carrying a large bouquet of vibrant red roses. Upon seeing Adele, he gazed at her with a look of rapture, finding her radiant and smiling tonight a stark contrast to her usual aloofness. McKee eagerly embraced her, saying, "My dear Adele, it's been so long! You've become more and more beautiful, even more delicate than this bouquet of roses in my hand!"

Behind him were two burly men with gloomy faces. They looked at McKee with questioning eyes, and he nodded slightly. The two men understood, entering the living room with a small device in their hands. They pressed a button on it, and a red indicator light illuminated. The two men nodded to McKee, saying, "Marshal, everything is normal."

"You may leave. I need to have some time alone with Miss Adele," McKee said, letting out a sigh of relief, his last trace of wariness gone. Actually, after receiving Adele's call, the suspicious McKee was still a bit wary. Adele's sudden show of goodwill seemed a bit abrupt, so he had specifically brought two burly men with powerful superpowers. The device they had just used was also their secret weapon; as long as someone was in the room, even if they were invisible, they couldn't escape the secret weapon's tracking.

Fortunately, Wukong had already prepared, transforming and flying out the window beforehand, thus avoiding revealing their whereabouts.

McKee, of course, didn't expect Wukong to be outside the window. He lowered his guard against Adele, thinking that perhaps Adele was taking the initiative to throw herself at him because of his great success? McKee had seen many girls like this; it turned out Adele was no exception. Her previous indifference was all an act.

"Yes, we'll stand guard at the door. Have a pleasant evening, Marshal!" The two burly men bowed to McKee, left the room, and gently closed the door behind them. Adele knew that besides the two burly men outside, there were more than twenty fully armed soldiers. Her apartment had become a high-priority protected area tonight.

"Coming to my place and you're acting like this? Mackie, you've changed. I almost didn't recognize you. You weren't like this before. Back then, you were so easygoing, you could wait for me downstairs for three or four hours. Hehe, thinking about it now, it's really embarrassing. I was always so busy back then, so I neglected you." Adele smiled brightly.

Mackie looked a little embarrassed. Adele's mention of the past filled him with mixed emotions. The cold treatment he received back then was truly devastating; it's better not to mention it. Now it's completely different. He has money and power, and this beautiful woman is fawning over him. Having power is truly exhilarating!

Seeing the two burly men leave, Wukong quietly flew back and perched on the coffee table in the living room.

"Hehe, although a year has passed, my admiration for you, Miss Adele, hasn't diminished at all; on the contrary, it's grown stronger to the point where I can't eat or sleep. If I weren't afraid of bothering you, I would have come to visit you long ago. Since Cupid's arrow struck me, I'll never forget you for the rest of my life," McKee said emotionally. He had rehearsed these lines all the way there.

"McKee, you're in a position of power now, busy with countless affairs every day, do you still have time to remember a little woman like me?" Adele asked with a smile, her face showing a hint of disbelief.

"Of course, I'm a very sentimental person," McKee said emotionally, glancing around the living room and noticing the half-empty bottle of red wine on the table. He asked curiously, "You're drinking red wine alone at home? You used to say you didn't drink at all. What made you change so much?"

Adele took a wine glass, poured a glass for McKee, and said, "Come, let's drink to our past acquaintance." McKee and Adele clinked glasses, downed their drinks, and McKee looked at Adele with questioning eyes, eager to know what had caused this change in her. "

Sigh," McKee thought, "at this point, I can't get away with it without lying. I'll make up a more compelling story." Adele deliberately sighed softly and said, "Well, it's a long story. Ever since I rejected your advances, I've watched you gradually gain real power, gradually take control of the entire army. I realized I'd missed out on a great military genius, and I regret it so much. I regret not seizing the opportunity. This regret torments me every day. I can't eat, I can't sleep, I often suffer from insomnia, and the only way I can relieve my sorrow is by drinking. I numb myself with red wine, but when I wake up, the regret only grows stronger. This emotion torments me terribly, but I dare not call you. I'm afraid you'll misunderstand me, that you've already thought of me as a vulgar person." "Just now, I finally mustered the courage to call you and pour out my heart..."

Adele finished speaking, suppressing her nausea, trying her best to sound emotional.

McKee was moved to tears, grabbing Adele's soft hand and saying emotionally, "Adele, oh Adele, why didn't you say so sooner? Why did you torture yourself like this? If you had just said so, I would have come to your side without hesitation. You know my heart best. When you tortured yourself, you were torturing me too! But now it's all right. I've finally found my great love, and no one can separate us anymore!"

As he spoke with passion, McKee's face flushed, his eyes brimming with affection. He lowered his head and kissed Adele's delicate lips. Adele felt so nauseous she almost vomited up the food she had eaten ten years ago. She quickly covered McKee's mouth with her hand, saying sweetly, "Mmm, don't be so hasty. Tonight, you're the master here."

"But I can't wait, darling, I can't wait even a second longer." McKee was already burning with desire, wanting nothing more than to pin Adele down and ravage her, to avenge the humiliation of her previous heartless rejection.

"Darling, how about you take a shower first? I'll wait for you in bed," Adele said tenderly. McKee

almost fainted. So this blissful moment had arrived so quickly! My God, the beautiful woman he had been pursuing for months was saying she would wait for him in bed! How could McKee not be filled with excitement?

"Okay, okay, I'm going to take a shower and I'll be right back." McKee quickly stripped off his clothes, leaving only his underwear, and cheerfully went into the bathroom.

Adele noticed that the guy's magic mirror was still hanging around his neck.

How cunning! Adele cursed inwardly.

"Sun Wukong, where are you?" Adele heard the sound of running water from the bathroom and knew McKee was already showering, so she quickly asked softly.

"I'm right beside you. Adele, your acting was pretty good just now; it seems McKee didn't suspect anything," Wukong whispered in her ear.

"But he didn't put the magic mirror down! What should we do? He'll be out soon," Adele asked anxiously.

"Don't worry, I'll think of something," Wukong reassured her.

Chapter 358

The sound of water in the bathroom stopped, and McGee eagerly stepped out, wearing only a towel around his waist. He chuckled and said to Adele, who was lying on the bed, "I'm here! Baby, were you getting impatient?"

"No, I was waiting for you!" Adele's breasts were half-exposed, her passion burning. McGee couldn't wait a second longer. He climbed onto the bed, grabbed Adele, and started to undress her.

"Hey, what's that mirror on your chest? It's in the way. Take it off and put it aside." Adele said, stroking the magical mirror with her delicate hands.

"Hehe, it's no problem, no problem. I feel really good wearing this thing, and I'm full of energy when I'm doing things. It's a far cry from that without it." McGee chuckled, his large hands reaching towards Adele's chest. Adele dodged Mackey's clutches, giggling, "Hehe, you can't catch me, you can't catch me!" Mackey, aroused and burning with desire, pounced like a wolf. Adele, quick as a flash, grabbed the magic mirror and yanked hard, severing the metal wire holding it. She seized Mackey's precious mirror, examined it for a moment, and said, "Hehe, it really is a mirror! Now I don't need to search for one everywhere to do my makeup!"

The sudden pain made Mackey's eyes widen. He glared angrily at Adele, exclaiming in surprise, "Adele, what are you trying to do?" He tried to grab her again.

Adele laughed heartily, wiped her face, and transformed into Sun Wukong, standing beside Mackey. She toyed with the magic mirror in her hand, a victorious smile on her face.

"Haha, McKee, we meet again!" Wukong laughed heartily. "What kind of metal wire is that around your neck? It's quite difficult to pull it out."

"You...you're Sun Wukong? Where's Adele?" McKee looked surprised. He breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I fell for your trick! Sun Wukong, I have to admire you. You actually managed to get Adele involved to lure me into this trap. Your methods are quite impressive! How did you manage to bewitch Adele?"

"Hehe, I have good character!" Wukong said leisurely. "Adele, you can come out now!" With that call, Adele walked out from another room, smiling at Wukong and saying, "Sun Wukong, is everything resolved?"

"Here it is." Wukong held up the magic mirror, tossed it to Adele, and said, "Keep it safe. Girls all love mirrors. This is perfect for you. It's truly an essential item for grooming at home and on the go!"

Adele caught it and looked at it from left to right. It was just an ordinary mirror; she couldn't see anything special about it.

“Adele, you betrayed me? Everything you said and did was a trap? Your purpose was to lure me here?” McKee gritted his teeth in hatred.

“Yes, absolutely. Did you think I would be interested in a warmonger like you?” Adele said with disgust. “Who do you think you are?”

“Hmph, Sun Wukong, no matter how good your kung fu is, you can’t defeat my thousands of troops, right? As long as I shout, the people outside will rush in, and you will definitely not be able to escape. Besides, my Dream Mirror is useless to you. You might as well return it to me, and you can leave safely. I will definitely not stop you!” McKee analyzed.

“Those weaklings at the door think they can stop me? Don’t even think about it!” Wukong scoffed.

McKee took out a small silver object from his body and pressed it. The door was kicked open from the outside, and two burly men entered with more than twenty menacing soldiers.

“Mr. McKee, are you in trouble? Did you overexert yourself and need to be taken to the hospital?” one of the men asked with concern.

"Bullshit! What nonsense are you spouting? Open your eyes and look around! Isn't there someone else in the room? How were you doing security? You couldn't even detect someone in the room?" McKee roared angrily.

"But there was nothing unusual just now. Could it be that our equipment malfunctioned?" the burly man said, puzzled. He pulled out the device and exclaimed happily, "Look, my device isn't broken! It's working perfectly! The pointer is at 2000 now, which means there are quite a few uninvited guests in this room!"

McKee snatched the device and smashed it on the ground, saying, "Even a fool could see there were uninvited guests in the room. Do you need this piece of junk to show off?" The burly man looked at the device smashed to pieces on the ground with heartache and muttered, "My hard work! Ten years of research and development, wasted like this!"

"A pile of garbage! A stinking pile of shit!" McKee was still not satisfied after smashing the device and continued to curse fiercely. Wukong felt a bit neglected and said with a grin, "McGee, you can settle your family matters later. This is Adele's private apartment. If there's nothing else, just leave. Paying ten or twenty thousand for the broken door is fine. No problem, MacGee, Adele likes your mirror too, consider that compensation, okay?"

MacGee was almost spitting blood with anger. What kind of reason was that?

"Snoopy, Diego, you two go and catch those two scoundrels. The rest of you, guard the door and windows closely, don't let them escape easily. Also, don't fire without my order." MacGee wouldn't forget his experience at the military command post; firing a gun had serious consequences.

"Yes, Marshal!" the two burly men replied. The

two men now had weapons in their hands. One held a longsword, its blade a deep green, gleaming with an eerie green light. The other held a black, heavy knife.

"A green sword? A black knife? These weapons are a bit strange, but they don't seem so bad. You have weapons, and so do I, but mine is much prettier than yours!" Wukong smirked, pulled the golden cudgel from his ear, and said "Transform!" The golden cudgel shrank to the size of a bowl.

"Hehe, Sun Wukong, you really can do magic!" Adele seemed completely unafraid, standing behind Wukong and curiously watching the golden cudgel. She even cautiously touched it with her hand, saying, "It's really beautiful!"

"Adele, you're in a bit of danger right now. For your safety, you should stand behind me and not wander off. Also, give me the mirror you're holding," Wukong said to Adele using telepathy.

“Okay.” Adele handed the mirror to Wukong and stood motionless behind him. Strangely, she didn’t feel fear at this moment, because Wukong’s calm demeanor gave her confidence.

The green sword and black knife of the two burly men paled in comparison to Wukong’s gleaming golden cudgel. Even their owners seemed a little embarrassed, laughing awkwardly, “Hehe, what’s the use of a pretty exterior? As weapons, practicality is the most important thing! Watch how we deal with you!” As they spoke, they muttered incantations, and in the blink of an eye, things changed. The green sword’s blade emitted a strong green light, which grew increasingly intense, eventually engulfing the blade itself. The black knife was also shrouded in a black mist.

“Go!” With a roar, the green sword and black knife flew from the hands of the two burly men, heading straight for Wukong.

“Well done!” Wukong wielded his golden cudgel to meet the attack. A series of clanging sounds rang out as the golden cudgel clashed with the sword and knife. Although the green sword and black dagger had escaped the burly man's grasp, they seemed to be under someone's control, and even had eyes, attacking and defending with practiced precision. The two burly men beside them muttered incantations, their eyes fixed intently on the fight.

After a fierce battle, they had only managed a draw. Even with all his skills, Wukong couldn't subdue the green sword and black dagger. On one hand, he was wary of Adele beside him, fearing that McKee might take the opportunity to harm her, so Wukong kept a close eye on McKee's every move, wary of any trickery. On the other hand, Adele's apartment wasn't large, preventing Wukong from using his full power with his golden cudgel, making him feel somewhat hampered.

What to do? Wukong pondered. If this prolonged fight continued, victory might not be achieved in a short time. Perhaps it would be better to leave first and then make further plans. In any case, McKee's Magic Mirror had already been stolen; without it, McKee would definitely try his best to get it back, and there would be plenty of opportunities to capture him then.

Having made up his mind, Wukong roused himself and, with a whirlwind of staff movements, deflected the green sword and black knife. Then, swiftly using his right hand to grab Adele's slender waist, he smashed through the soldiers' encirclement, shattered the floor-to-ceiling windows, and vanished in the blink of an eye. Several unlucky souls were knocked out of the building by Wukong, landing on the ground, their hope of survival virtually gone. The green sword and black knife followed closely behind, but once out of the two burly men's sight, they completely lost their aim and became utterly useless. The soldiers fired wildly for a while, but they couldn't even see Wukong's shadow, wasting bullets in vain, and had no choice but to give up.

"A bunch of idiots! What were you ordered to do? I told you to maintain a tight defense, didn't you hear me? How could he get away so easily?" McKee roared, walking over and slapping every soldier across the face, none spared. Some of the unlucky ones even had blood drawn from their mouths.

"We did defend, but his momentum was too great, we couldn't stop him!" one soldier said indignantly. Although the voice wasn't loud, McKee heard it clearly.

"Still being stubborn? I don't care about the process, only the result. They escaped right under your noses, that's your dereliction of duty! Damn it, you still want to explain! I'll let you explain!" Enraged, McKee kicked the soldier who had talked back. The soldier was sent flying through the air, flying off the shattered glass floor. Three seconds later, a dull thud echoed downstairs.

The others were all pale with fright. Who would dare speak in front of such a tyrant?

Chapter 359 The Great Search

Wukong flew with Adele all the way to the hotel before stopping. After overcoming her initial fear, Adele gradually shed her dread and was even able to open her eyes wide to look at everything around her. Once her feet touched the ground, Adele seemed to exclaim with lingering enjoyment, "We're here? I want to fly again! This feeling is amazing! It's even more thrilling than riding a roller coaster at an amusement park! Sun Wukong, you're truly an amazing person!"

"We're here. Situ Yu lives up there," Wukong said with a smile. "How was it? How did it feel to fly in the sky?" Adele looked at Wukong with surprise, as if looking at a god, and murmured, "It's incredible, Sun Wukong, you're so great! You can actually fly in the sky. Do you know witchcraft? But you're not riding a broomstick!"

"Hehe, you can't fly without witchcraft, can you? A broomstick? What would I need a broomstick for?" Wukong found it a little amusing. Upon entering the suite, Situ Yu was already fast asleep. Wukong gently opened the door and invited Adele in. Just as they sat down in the small living room, Situ Yu was startled awake. She came out in her pajamas and slippers, rubbing her eyes, and asked, "Wukong, did you go out just now?"

"Yes, I went out for a stroll and brought back a beautiful woman. Can you tell who it is?" Wukong said with a smile. Only then did Situ Yu see Adele sitting next to Wukong. She had met him in Aolai Kingdom. Situ Yu said, "Oh, it's Adele! Hello, Miss Adele, it's been a long time."

"Hello, Miss Situ Yu, it's a pleasure to see you again. I'm so sorry to bother you so late." Adele stepped forward and hugged Situ Yu.

"It's also a pleasure to see you again, Miss Adele! How did you two meet? It's such a big country like the US, it's really fate that we met." Situ Yu stared at Wukong with a puzzled look. Wukong smiled and recounted the whole story to Situ Yu. He mentioned Adele's willingness to lure McKee to her home, a act that filled Situ Yu with respect and secretly admired Adele as a truly remarkable woman.

"Miss Adele, you are incredibly brave," Situ Yu sincerely praised.

"It's only right. Sun Wukong saved me; I should do something for him. But it's a pity I couldn't capture McKee," Adele said regretfully.

"Hehe, you still gained quite a bit. At least you stole McKee's Magic Mirror. Without this treasure, McKee's doom is near." Wukong reached into his inner pocket, felt around, and exclaimed in surprise, "Strange, where's that little mirror? It's gone! Adele clearly gave it to me; how could it disappear?"

"Gone? Oh well, it's just a little mirror; it's not of any use to you. If you really like it, you can just buy it at the mall tomorrow," Adele comforted him.

"But that little mirror is very important to me. How could I be so careless and lose it without even realizing it?" Wukong blamed himself. "Losing the little mirror makes things more complicated. Sigh, McKee said there are quite a few people imprisoned inside, and I guess Yang Ru is in there too. What should we do now that it's just gone?"

Actually, the Dream Mirror has already returned to McKee's hands. McKee has refined this Dream Mirror for a long time, and it has developed its own sentience. As long as McKee chants the incantation, no matter where it is, the mirror will quickly return to McKee's side.

Now, it's no exception.

Unless, of course, it can be smashed to pieces!

"Haha, Sun Wukong, you're too naive. You think you can just steal my magic mirror like that? This treasure has been with me for years, do you think it's so easy to steal?" McKee gently stroked the magic mirror, gritting his teeth as he said, "Adele, you're too heartless! I'll make you regret this!"

"Pass down the order! Mobilize all military and police forces to search all hotels and guesthouses within the country overnight, seal off all border crossings and airports, and prevent Sun Wukong and Adele from leaving the country!" McKee relayed the order.

"Yes, sir! I'll pass the order down immediately!" the soldier replied, head held high.

"Hmm, very good. Hopefully, we'll catch Sun Wukong!" McKee had no confidence whatsoever. Knowing full well that Wukong could fly, such measures wouldn't be very effective, and the chances of success were low, but it was better than doing nothing. At least, they could find out where they were hiding.

After counting the number of soldiers—five lost—McKee ordered everyone to board the plane and return.

Everyone boarded the plane. McKee waved and said, "You guys go first, don't wait for me."

"Marshal, aren't you leaving?" a soldier asked.

"Don't worry about me, I'll go back myself," McKee said. The soldiers thought McKee was still waiting for Adele to return, and were probably disappointed. So they all looked understanding and said to the pilot, "Then we're off! Take off."

McGee watched the helicopter take off. Using a helicopter was actually a strategic move by McGee; he wanted to show off his strength to Adele. Why would he need a helicopter? He could fly faster than a helicopter. With

Sun Wukong gone, McGee was uneasy, unsure if he would return. So, he was cautious and flew back himself.

Just as McGee was about to leap into the air, a loud bang echoed through the air, followed by a fireball trailing smoke as it plummeted to the ground in the distance, landing with a deafening explosion.

McGee was shocked. It exploded? The plane exploded! McGee leaped into the air, reaching mid-air. The Apache helicopter lay on the ground, still burning fiercely.

"Sun Wukong, you're despicable! Show yourself if you dare! I'll fight you to the death!" McGee shouted angrily from mid-air.

"Hahaha, show yourself then! Do you think I, Old Sun, am afraid of you?" Wukong appeared, laughing heartily. "McGee, you're indeed cunning enough to escape this time! But good luck doesn't last forever; you won't be so lucky next time!"

"A next time? Now I'll make you obediently go inside my treasure and have some peace and quiet!" McGee pulled out the Magic Mirror from his person and shone it in Wukong's direction. Wukong knew the danger and vanished in the blink of an eye, only his booming voice echoing in the air: "McGee, one day I'll smash that broken mirror of yours to pieces! Just you wait!"

"Dream on! If you walk a little slower, you'll be inside obediently! Hahaha, hahaha~" McGee laughed triumphantly. In the blink of an eye, Wukong had returned to the hotel. Situ Yu and Adele were anxiously waiting for his return. Seeing Wukong come back, they both breathed a sigh of relief.

"How is it? Is the Magic Mirror back in McGee's hands?" Adele asked eagerly.

“Yes, the magic mirror was taken back by McKee! That old fox McKee is so cunning! I smashed his vehicle with my golden cudgel, but he managed to escape! Heh heh, what a cunning old fox!” Wukong said with a regretful expression.

“Then, isn’t Yang Ru in a very dangerous situation? Knowing you went to rescue her, will McKee harm her?” Situ Yu asked worriedly.

“So I need to find a way to break McKee’s magic as soon as possible. That magic mirror is the key. It seems I need to consult someone knowledgeable to see what kind of magical object it is and if there’s any way to break it. You two stay here for now and wait for me to come back. Don’t move around too much. McKee might be searching more strictly lately,” Wukong instructed.

“Don’t worry, we’ll just stay in the hotel and not go anywhere. We won’t cause you any trouble,” Situ Yu said obediently.

“What about you, Adele? You can’t wander around either, especially not your home. You can’t go back,” Wukong cautioned.

"I never planned to go home in the first place. Now that things have come to this, how could I possibly go home? Sun Wukong, I'm following you. You'll have to take care of my food, clothing, and shelter from now on!" Adele showed no distress whatsoever, her face beaming with joy, as if she had already decided to live off him for the rest of her life. She looked at Wukong with her large eyes, waiting for his response.

Before Wukong could answer, Situ Yu chuckled and said, "Of course! We've exhausted you so much that you can't go home, so of course we have to take responsibility for your comfort, right, Wukong?"

"Yes, of course," Wukong said with a grin. "You're all tired, aren't you? Go inside and get some sleep. I'm going out for a bit. If I find an expert, I'll be back soon." Wukong planned to go to Heaven to ask if anyone could recognize what McKee's Dream Mirror was. If no one in Heaven could recognize it, he would then try to find the Buddha, who was knowledgeable and should have heard of it, right?

As they were talking, a bustling sound came from downstairs. Wukong looked out the window and saw that the streets were lined with military and police vehicles, each loaded with heavily armed officers and soldiers.

"War has broken out? Is it some small country at war?" Wukong wondered.

"Perhaps the military and police are carrying out some major operation?" Situ Yu was also puzzled.

Listening carefully, they could faintly hear room checks among the commotion downstairs.

"A joint military and police operation, specifically for room checks. I think this operation is specifically targeting us. Sun Wukong, what should we do?" Adele said anxiously.

"Targeting us? Just for a few of us, they have to go to such lengths?" Wukong asked, puzzled.

"I think that's definitely the case. Don't forget, McKee is now the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He absolutely has the authority to mobilize the military and police for such a large-scale operation. And only he has that authority."

Wukong thought it made sense; it was probably McKee's plan. What to do?

The sounds downstairs grew clearer.

Chapter 360 A blush crept

across her face. Hearing the approaching sounds of the room check, Adele became anxious and asked, "Sun Wukong, what should we do now? Look, the streets are full of military police. It seems McKee has deployed a large number of them to find us. There are military police everywhere; it's difficult for us to leave, but we can't stay. I think these military police are probably after us. What should we do? What should we do?"

Situ Yu, however, remained calm. Seeing Wukong's nonchalant demeanor, she knew he was confident. The deeper her understanding of Wukong, the more captivated Situ Yu became by his fearless demeanor in the face of danger. This was a true man, a genuine man.

Wukong chuckled easily and said to Adele, "Don't panic. I don't even consider such a small force a threat. However, I don't want to start a massacre right now, so I'd like to take you to China to relax. Adele, you've been to Aolai Kingdom, but you haven't been to China, have you?"

"No, I've only seen introductions on TV. I know China is a very ancient country with many famous historical sites. I've heard it's developed quite well in the last ten years or so, and I'd like to travel to that mysterious country. I've always dreamed of seeing it for myself someday," Adele said longingly.

"Want to go see it? Right now?"

"Right now? You mean right now? I want to go! I really want to go!" Adele said excitedly.

"Alright, I'll make your dream come true right now. You and Situ Yu, come with me." Wukong led Adele and Situ Yu to the balcony. Looking at the vast night sky, Wukong instructed, "Both of you close your eyes, and whatever you do, don't open them."

"Why?" Adele asked疑惑地问道.

“Don’t ask why, we’ll just do as he says. Wukong’s orders have only one purpose: our safety,” Situ Yu said with a smile. She knew that Wukong wanted to take them on another free flight.

“Oh, I guessed it! Is it flying in the air like before?” Adele asked expectantly.

Wukong nodded and said, “Yes, but the distance is much farther than before. When you open your eyes, you’ll be in China. It’s a place you’ll never want to leave; I think you’ll definitely like it.”

“Really? How long will it take?” Adele was very eager, wishing she could be in China immediately.

“If you can overcome your fear and bear it, you just need to count from one to three in your mind,” Wukong said with a smile.

Adele and Situ Yu both closed their eyes as instructed. Wukong carried one in each arm and boarded the somersault cloud. Adele closed her eyes and counted from one to three. She heard Wukong say, "Alright, you can open your eyes now. Situ Yu, we're back home."

Situ Yu opened her eyes and, sure enough, she was back at her familiar doorstep.

"Wow! Wukong, I think you're getting more and more amazing!" Situ Yu exclaimed, her eyes wide with admiration.

"Wow, it was just the dead of night, and now it's broad daylight! Sun Wukong, where are we now?" Adele asked in surprise.

“That’s because of the time difference. This is Lingwang City in China, and this house in front of you is my home.” Situ Yu took Adele’s hand and introduced her with a smile, “Welcome to my home.”

“Your home? What a beautiful house! Your family must be very rich?” Adele looked around enviously.

Situ Yu smiled without saying a word and went forward to ring the doorbell. Soon, the door opened, revealing the face of a young maid.

“Ah, it’s Miss, Miss is back? That’s wonderful! Master and Madam have been talking about you these past few days. If you hadn’t come back, the two old folks wouldn’t have been able to sleep!” The maid chattered as she opened the door.

“Where are my parents? Where are they?” Situ Yu was also very excited to be home and asked anxiously.

“Master just came back and is chatting with Madam in the hall.” The maid replied.

“Dad, Mom, I’m back!” With a clear shout, Situ Yu flew into the hall like a happy little swallow.

"Hehe, this Xiaoyu is like a completely different person when she gets home. It's so strange, the mature and composed Xiaoyu outside is like a little child at home," Wukong muttered to himself. "Adele is visiting your house for the first time, she's a guest, isn't she? It's so rude of her to just slip away like that."

Despite his words, Wukong still led Adele to the living room.

Along the way, Adele exclaimed in amazement:

"Wow, this place is huge!"

"Wow, the decoration is so luxurious!"

"Sun Wukong, do people in China live in houses this big?"

Wukong responded to her question: "Hehe, Situ Yu's family is rich, of course they live in spacious houses. There are plenty of people in China who don't have houses. Sometime I'll take you around; there are quite a few people sleeping on the streets!"

As he spoke, they arrived at the spacious and bright hall. Situ Yu nestled in her mother's arms, chattering away. Seeing Wukong and Adele enter, she remembered they had a guest and quickly left her mother's embrace, saying apologetically, "I'm so sorry, I was so busy talking to my parents that I almost forgot we had a guest. Let me introduce you, this is my foreign friend, Miss Adele, and these are my parents."

"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you," Adele said, hugging them.

"Welcome, welcome!" Situ Nan said warmly. He instructed a servant to brew a pot of good tea, and the group sat down to chat. Situ Nan asked, "Miss Adele, are you here in China for tourism?"

"Yes, this is my first time in China. However..." Adele nodded, then hesitated.

"Xiao Yu, Miss Adele has come all this way, you should show her the hospitality of a good host and take her sightseeing, letting her learn more about the charm of our ancient country," Situ Nan instructed his daughter.

“That’s only natural. However, Miss Adele isn’t just here for tourism; she might stay for a while because she can’t go home anymore. Dad, you don’t mind, do you?” Situ Yu said.

“Hehe, why would I mind? It’s a lively place, the more people there are, the happier I am. By the way, you said she can’t go home, what happened? Did she run into trouble in the US?” Situ Nan asked with concern.

“Yes, she did run into trouble, and it’s quite a big one. It’s all because of McKee,” Situ Yu said.

“McKee? The McKee who almost swindled my Huanyu Group?” Situ Nan asked in surprise. Situ Nan had a very deep impression of McKee; it was a nightmare. His hard-earned Huanyu Group was almost taken over by him. If it weren’t for Wukong, the consequences would have been unimaginable. Therefore, hearing McKee’s name sent a chill down Situ Nan’s spine.

“Yes, it’s him,” Wukong nodded. “In just one year, McGee has risen to the position of Commander-in-Chief of the US Army, Navy, and Air Force, commanding thousands of troops. Xiaoyu and I came to the US this time to capture McGee and rescue Yang Ru, who was imprisoned by him. Unexpectedly, McGee’s power has increased considerably. Although I used a trick to obtain his Dream Mirror, I lost it again, and it even implicated Adele, leaving her unable to return home.”

Wukong briefly explained the situation to Situ Nan and the others.

“Then…then we have no way to deal with McGee? Will he come after me again?” Situ Nan asked worriedly.

“Don’t worry, McGee’s ambitions are huge now. He wants to be the world’s hegemon, so your Huanyu Group probably has no interest in him anymore. As for how to deal with him, I have a plan…” Wukong reassured him.

Situ Nan finally relaxed. As long as his own interests aren’t harmed, it’s not a big problem. That’s the mentality of a businessman, and Situ Nan is no exception. Businessmen are all selfish.

"Where are Bajie and the others? I can't see them. Are they still in Abyss City?" Wukong looked around, but couldn't see Bajie, Sha Wujing, or even Situ Yangguang. Strange, were they still in Abyss City?

"Oh, they're all back. They came back the day before yesterday. Looks like they didn't have much fun. That little girl named Ye Fang is sullen; she doesn't even want to leave her room after coming back. We heard about her on TV. Sigh, that Ling family is truly a beast, doing such a despicable thing. That incident must have been a huge blow to her. I tried to talk to her, but it wasn't very effective," Madam Situ sighed.

"It will take a long time to recover. It's impossible to completely forget about it all at once. I'll go see him, and also see that little girl Yueyue. I miss her terribly after not seeing her for a few days. Wukong, are you coming with me?" Situ Yu asked.

"Adele and Yueyue have met before, let's go together," Wukong said.

The three of them arrived at Liu Yueyue's room. Xiao Yefang was quietly reading a comic book, while Liu Yueyue watched with great interest, the two of them occasionally giggling.

"Hehe, you seem to be having a good time!" Situ Yu pushed open the door and entered.

"It's you? Sister, you're back?" Liu Yueyue hugged Situ Yu tightly, saying happily, "Was it fun in the US? No need to answer, I can tell from your eyes that it must have been very fun. Hehe, just the two of us..."

"Hehe, Yueyue, you're such a little devil. What do you mean by 'just the two of us'? We're here to take care of serious business. Also, don't just talk, look who's here, do you recognize them?" Situ Yu said with a smile.

Yueyue carefully looked Adele over and said with a smile, "I recognize her, she's James's friend Adele. I remember that boxing match at the Century Club, Adele took off her coat to cheer for James, I remember it very well." Speaking of this, remembering Adele's bold and sexy attire, Liu Yueyue still blushed.

Chapter 361 With a Heart of Reverence

Situ Yu and Yueyue had endless things to talk about. Wukong, worried about Yang Ru's safety and eager to find out the origin of the magic mirror in McKee's possession, didn't bother to check on his master and Bajie. He made an excuse and left.

Wukong somersaulted to the Heavenly Court. The guards at the South Gate recognized him, exchanged a few pleasantries, and didn't stop him. Wukong went directly to the Jade Emperor, who was sitting on his throne listening to reports from the gods. Wukong barged in, bowed to the Jade Emperor, and chuckled, saying, "What a coincidence, all the gods are here. Saves me the trouble of searching for them one by one."

The Jade Emperor, used to Wukong's unruly nature, wasn't annoyed. He smiled and asked, "Sun Wukong, you're the Victorious Fighting Buddha in the Western Paradise, what are you doing in the Heavenly Court? Did you volunteer to return to your old job as the Keeper of the Heavenly Horses?" His words made all the gods burst into laughter.

Wukong waved his hands repeatedly, saying, "Tch, that's old news. Why would the Jade Emperor bring it up? Who wants to be some lowly stable boy? If I were to do it, I'd rather be the Great Sage Equal to Heaven! Hehe, just kidding, not really. I, Old Sun, have come here this time with a real reason. I have something to ask the Jade Emperor and all the gods."

The Jade Emperor smiled and said, "When did Sun Wukong become so humble? Speak, what is it?" Wukong then recounted his encounter with McKee in the mortal realm, focusing on the Dream Mirror in McKee's possession.

"I suspect that the magic mirror was a treasure of some immortal, stolen by McKee and used to wreak havoc on the human world. Do any of you gods know of anyone who has lost such a treasure?" Wukong asked.

"Hmm, as far as I know, no god in Heaven seems to possess such a treasure. My lords, does any of you know of the mirror that Sun Wukong just described?" The Jade Emperor pondered for a moment before speaking.

"No, no."

"I've never heard of it either."

"It's too amazing, I've never seen it before."

...

"Could there be something I've overlooked?" Wukong expressed his doubts. All the gods said they had never seen it before, which Wukong found hard to understand. What could it be that even the gods had never heard of? But...

"Pass down the order! All gods, check your belongings yourselves. See if anything is missing. Pay special attention to mirrors and the like, and report back as soon as possible." The Jade Emperor issued an imperial decree.

"Yes, we lowly immortals obey!" The gods dared not delay and dispersed to check their own possessions.

Not long after, they all returned to report to the Jade Emperor. After a meticulous and detailed count, no one had lost any treasures like the small mirror.

"Strange, it's not a celestial treasure. What could have such extraordinary power?" Wukong wondered.

"Sun Wukong, you saw it yourself. That small mirror isn't something from our celestial realm. I suggest you go back to the Western Paradise and ask the Buddha if it's a Buddhist treasure?" the Jade Emperor suggested.

"Thank you for the reminder, Jade Emperor, and thank you all for your cooperation, I, Old Sun, am off." Sun Wukong bid farewell to everyone. Time was of the essence, and Wukong didn't want to waste any more time. He turned and left the Heavenly Court, somersaulting back to Leiyin Temple.

The Buddha was in the Great Hall of the Buddha, discussing scriptures with a group of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Wukong quietly entered and stood silently to the side. The Buddha saw him, stopped his conversation, and asked, "Victorious Fighting Buddha, have you come about the matter of the Dream Mirror?" Wukong was suddenly startled. The Buddha was truly powerful; it seemed everything was under his control. Did that mean everything he did in the mortal realm couldn't escape his all-seeing eye?

"Haha, yes, Buddha is truly prescient!" Wukong laughed, explaining his purpose.

"I'll tell you about the origins of the Magic Mirror and McKee's identity later. This is a great calamity in the mortal realm, because mortals have committed too many sins, destined for this calamity. If we Buddhas and Bodhisattvas don't lend a helping hand, countless lives will be lost. Do you remember what I said when the Sandalwood Merit Buddha and his entourage descended to the mortal realm? I gave the Sandalwood Merit Buddha a wordless book, all the mysteries are contained within. Find the destined person, and the problem will be easily solved," the Buddha said unhurriedly.

Wukong was completely defeated. He thought, "Why are you playing these mysteries? Just tell me directly, isn't that enough? Is riddles fun?

" "Buddha, you know I've never been good at riddles. I always fail in the riddle-solving competitions in the Buddhist realm. Just tell me the answer, who is the destined person?" Wukong asked.

"It cannot be said, it cannot be said. The destined person is everywhere, perhaps right beside you, perhaps it is you, haha, go back now," the Buddha said with a chuckle. If it weren't for his fear of the Buddha's Five Finger Mountain, Wukong would have loved to take out his golden cudgel and whack him on the head. What was this? Was he just being dismissed like that?

"Buddha, you really don't want to talk?" Wukong persisted.

"I can't. Please leave," the Buddha smiled. "When the time is right, everything will vanish."

Sigh, what can you do with a leader like that? He always had a smiling face, neither hot nor cold. If you persisted, he could unleash his trump card, giving you half a day of ideological education. Wukong had experienced this many times and could only accept his bad luck and obediently leave.

A wordless heavenly book? "The destined one is everywhere?" Wukong's mind kept replaying the Buddha's words. Even after returning to Situ Yu's house, he was still thinking about these words.

Could it be that the destined one was right beside him?

Wukong rushed to Tang Sanzang's bedroom, calling out all the way, "Master, Master, are you home?"

Tang Sanzang was discussing Buddhist scriptures with Situ Yangguang, while Sha Wujing listened quietly. Hearing Wukong's shouting, Tang Sanzang frowned and said, "This monkey's bad temper is truly incorrigible. Shouting and yelling, he has no manners at all. He's not a child anymore, and he at least has a leisurely position at Leiyin Temple, yet he acts like a child who never grew up. Sigh." Just as he was grumbling, Wukong arrived and cut to the chase, asking, "Master, where is the blank book that the old Buddha gave you?"

"Wukong, don't be hasty. Tell me slowly, it's not like you're rushing off to war. Tell me, didn't you go abroad? When did you return?" Tang Sanzang asked unhurriedly.

"I've been back for ages. Master, where is that blank book?" Wukong was speechless. Why were all these old monks like this? It was driving him crazy. Sha Wujing and Situ Yangguang, unaware of Wukong's feelings, looked at him with puzzlement. They heard loud snoring coming from the bedroom; without a doubt, it was Zhu Bajie fast asleep. That deafening snoring was Zhu Bajie's patented technique, no doubt about it.

"Wukong, this is wrong of you. You've been back for ages and only now come to greet your master. That seems a bit neglectful. As the saying goes, 'A teacher for a day is a teacher for life.' I was once your master; shouldn't you give me enough respect? You should have come to visit your master immediately! It's been so hard for me, worrying about you all day long..." Tang Sanzang expressed his dissatisfaction.

Wukong almost fainted; his ears were ringing, and all he could see was Tang Sanzang's mouth opening and closing. He felt his head was spinning—what was the difference between this and the Tightening-Headband Mantra? Wukong pleaded weakly, "Master, please spare me! I'm about to foam at the mouth if you keep talking. I just wanted to ask you, is the blank book that Buddha gave you still there?"

"Oh, you've mentioned it! I almost forgot about that book! Sigh, it's completely blank. I can't understand it, so I put it at the bottom of a box. I'll have to look for it carefully." Tang Sanzang slapped his forehead, as if waking from a dream.

"I'll help Master look for it. Sha Wujing, Situ Yangguang, you two can't just sit idly by, come and look for it too!" Wukong called to Sha Wujing and Situ Yangguang as well.

"Okay, Senior Brother," Sha Wujing agreed.

"Is that book very important?" Situ Yangguang asked.

"It's said to be very important, but I can't be sure," Wukong smiled and said, "I hope Buddha didn't lie to me."

"You just saw Buddha?" Tang Sanzang asked.

"Yes, I just came back from Leiyin Temple," Wukong told the truth.

"Really? Wukong, why didn't you call me to come with you? I want to pay my respects to the Buddha!" Tang Sanzang said regretfully.

"But, Master, is your fear of heights better?" Wukong asked with a grin. He hadn't forgotten Tang Sanzang's frightened look when they descended to the mortal realm. To accommodate him, Wukong had slowed his flight to the minimum, which felt like constipation—very unpleasant.

"This...this...fear of heights is one thing, paying respects to the Buddha is another. Can fear of heights really be a stumbling block to paying respects to the Buddha? The answer is no! Wukong, listen to me..."

While Tang Sanzang continued his incessant chatter, Wukong was already rummaging through the chests, opening the eight large bags of scriptures Tang Sanzang had brought from Leiyin Temple and examining them one by one. Sha Wujing and Situ Yangguang were also helping him. Tang Sanzang watched anxiously, saying, "Wukong, Sha Wujing, Brother Tang, be gentle, be gentle! These are all scriptures. We must handle them with reverence. We can't be so rough, understand? Be gentle, with reverence..."

Wukong's gaze fell on a book with a completely blank cover, not a single word.

"This is the book!" Wukong said excitedly. Pulling out the book, it was very thin, with only eight pages. He flipped through it, and the inside was the same as the cover, completely blank. "

This is the book? Brother Tang, have we been searching for so long just to find this book? How come we can't find a single word?" Sha Wujing took the book from Wukong's hand, looking at it from left to right, but couldn't see anything special about it. It was just a blank book; was it really worth Brother Tang's anxiety?

Chapter 362 All is Illusion

Having finally found the Buddha's wordless book, Wukong was extremely excited. However, upon finding it, he was bewildered to see that the book was completely blank. Where could he find someone destined to understand such a divine book? The Buddha said that those with affinity were everywhere; who was the truly destined one?

"Master, please look carefully. Can you understand the Buddha's wordless book?" Wukong asked hopefully. In terms of Buddhist knowledge, Wukong had to admit that Tang Sanzang was deeply accomplished; perhaps he could understand this divine book?

However, Tang Sanzang's reaction greatly disappointed Wukong. Tang Sanzang shook his head and said, "When the Buddha gave it to me, I studied it carefully, but I couldn't find a single word written on it. Or perhaps there's no writing at all. Who knows? Wukong, I think you don't need to waste your energy on this. If even I can't understand the scriptures, how could anyone in this world possibly understand them?" "The Buddha

said this is a wordless book, and that a destined person will be able to understand it. Buddhists don't lie; the Buddha wouldn't dare to fabricate a lie to deceive me, would he? Master, I believe there might still be someone who can understand it. The Buddha said that destined people are everywhere; even if I search to the ends of the earth, I will find that destined person," Wukong said firmly.

"Then... since the Buddha said so, you can start by looking among the people around you. Wujing, come and see what's written on it?" Tang Sanzang asked. Sha Wujing shook his head and waved his hands, repeatedly saying, "Master, don't joke with me. I can't even recognize a handful of characters, how could I possibly understand this heavenly book?"

"Go and wake Wuneng, ask him if he can understand it. There's a saying that true wisdom appears as foolishness; perhaps the usually silly Wuneng possesses great wisdom!" Tang Sanzang instructed.

"Okay, I'll go into the bedroom and wake my second brother, let him take a look too." Sha Wujing entered the bedroom, secretly chuckling to himself. Pigsy could understand a heavenly book? Master is giving him too much credit! What great wisdom appearing as foolishness? Is Pigsy considered wise? Then I, Old Sha, could be a PhD! Despite his thoughts, Sha Wujing still listened to his master. He pushed Pigsy's body a few times and said, "Second Brother, wake up! Master needs you! Hey, Second Brother, don't sleep anymore, Master is waiting for you!" Pigsy rolled over and mumbled, "What Master? I don't have time now. We'll talk about it later." After saying that, a loud snore started again, and Pigsy fell soundly asleep once more. "Master,

Second Brother has fallen asleep again," Sha Wujing said to Tang Sanzang. "

Push him! If that doesn't work, pull his ear," Tang Sanzang instructed.

"I pushed him, but it didn't work," Sha Wujing said helplessly.

"This Wuneng, all he does is eat and sleep all day. His life's meaning is sleeping and eating. Sigh, it's no wonder he's so fat. Wujing, go and wake him up again. We can't miss even the slightest hope. Maybe he can understand the Heavenly Book, right?" Tang Sanzang said helplessly.

“Brother Sha, sit still, Pigsy will be out soon!” Wukong said with a smile. Then, using his telepathic ability, he called out to Pigsy, “Pigsy, are you still sleeping? We’re all going to eat! We’re having a big meal today!”

Pigsy sprang out of bed and ran out of the living room, shouting, “Where are we having a big meal? You can’t leave me, Old Pig, behind!” Wukong said with a grin, “I wasn’t wrong, was I? Pigsy will be up soon.”

Pigsy asked dumbly, “Master, are we going to have a big meal?” Tang Sanzang laughed and said, “What big meal? Wukong must be playing a trick on you, right? Come here, Wuneng, you come too.” "Look, what's written on this heavenly book?"

Only then did Pigsy realize he'd been tricked by Monkey. He glared at Monkey with displeasure, reluctantly walking to Tang Sanzang's side, muttering, "Since it's not mealtime, let me, Old Pig, sleep a little longer! Did you have to conspire to trick me?"

Tang Sanzang chuckled inwardly, barely managing to suppress his laughter as he asked, "Wuneng, I asked you to get up so you could help me see what's written on this blank heavenly book."

Pigsy reluctantly glanced at it, but there were no words. He muttered, "You said it's a blank heavenly book, so what do you want me to see? Master, aren't you just teasing me?"

"Sigh, I know it's too much to ask you to look at it; it's like trying to lead an ox up a tree. Monkey, you see, even Wujing and Wuneng can't figure it out. You can slowly find your destined one," Tang Sanzang said to Monkey.

“Okay, I’ll go look for him again. Wait, wasn’t Situ Yangguang just here? How did he disappear so suddenly?” Wukong asked, puzzled.

“Oh, he heard that his sister Xiaoyu was back, so he couldn’t wait to go see her,” Sha Wujing explained. Just then, Situ Yangguang’s footsteps approached.

“I’m back! Did anyone need me?” Situ Yangguang returned excitedly, his joy at seeing Situ Yu again overflowing.

“Yes, I was just looking for you. Brother Tang, come and see what’s written in this book?” Tang Sanzang handed the blank book to Situ Yangguang.

Situ Yangguang flipped through the thin eight pages, saying, “Oh, is Brother Tang trying to test my literacy? Hehe, I know quite a few characters. The first six pages only have six large characters: Everything is an illusion. The last two pages are a passage of scripture; let me read it to you: Vairocana Buddha Mantra, Om…” "Namo Bhagavate, Sarva, Durgad, Parishuddha, Rajaya, Tathagataya, Arhad, Samyaksambuddhaya, Tayatha, Om, Shudani, Shudani, Sarva, Babang, Vishudani, Shud, Vishud, Sarva, Karma, Avalana, Vishudanaye, Svaha." Hehe, this passage is really difficult to pronounce. There's also a commentary: "Life is like walking through thorns; if the heart is still, the person will not act rashly, and will not be harmed; but if the heart is moved, the person will act rashly, injuring their body and causing pain, thus experiencing all kinds of suffering in the world. Everything is illusory."

"You...you can understand this wordless book? That's great, Situ Yangguang, Yang Ru is saved now!" Wukong happily walked over, grasped Situ Yangguang's hand, and shook it vigorously a few times.

"Understanding it can save people? I seem a little confused?" Situ Yangguang asked, puzzled.

“Yes, you can understand it, which means you are the destined person that Buddha spoke of! If you try to understand it more carefully, do you discover anything else? Is there any other detailed explanation? For example, some kind of cultivation method?” Wukong asked.

“No. These eight pages only contain these things, nothing else,” Situ Yangguang answered truthfully.

“Master, you just heard Situ Yangguang’s recitation. How should you understand it? Please enlighten me,” Wukong said humbly.

Wukong's inquiry suited Tang Sanzang's wishes perfectly. Why not seize this opportunity to give Wukong a lesson in Buddhist theory? So Tang Sanzang cleared his throat and slowly said, "In my understanding, the main point of the Buddha's wordless book is that everything is illusory. This is what Buddhism often refers to as Nirvana. Nirvana, meaning extinction or cessation, is synonymous with liberation; its original meaning refers to the state of being extinguished, then transforming into the extinguishing of the fire of afflictions, reaching the state of enlightenment. It transcends the realm of birth and death, and is the ultimate practical goal of Buddhism. Although the scriptures say: birth and death are Nirvana, most people equate birth and death with Nirvana, which shows a lack of understanding of the original meaning of Buddhism.

What most people call birth and death is purely physical." The existence and destruction of the physical body differ from Nirvana. Buddhism views birth and death as the cycle of rebirth for all sentient beings, continuing in the six realms of delusion according to karma. This is a world of suffering, a sea of birth and death, which is the opposite of Nirvana. The purpose of studying Buddhism is to transcend this sea of suffering and reach the other shore of Nirvana.

The Miscellaneous Sutras state: Nirvana is the complete severing of craving, abandoning it, discarding it, and distancing oneself from it, attaining liberation from it, the cessation of all conditioned phenomena, abandoning all defilements, severing craving, and being free from desire. Nirvana is the extinguishing of greed, the extinguishing of anger, and the extinguishing of delusion. There are

two kinds of Nirvana: Nirvana with remainder and Nirvana without remainder. The afflictions have ceased, but the physical body still exists; this is called Nirvana with remainder. The state of complete annihilation is called Nirvana without remainder. The Buddha's passing away is Nirvana, the state of entering perfect Nirvana.

Scriptures record that Nirvana has four great bliss and eight flavors. The four great bliss are: bliss without suffering, great tranquility, great knowledge, and indestructible bliss. The eight flavors are: eternal, tranquil, immortal, pure, empty, and unmoving bliss.

Some people believe Nirvana is either positive or negative, which is incorrect because the two are relative or contradictory. However, Nirvana transcends relativity and duality. Those who have personally realized the truth or Nirvana will not... It is not subject to any delusions, attachments, sorrows, or grief; it is living in the present moment with the purest mind, without any ego, to achieve Nirvana and tranquility.

Due to human ignorance, we toss and turn in the six realms of delusion, our afflictions never ending, unable to find liberation. Therefore, only through diligent practice, purifying ourselves, and overcoming ignorance with wisdom can we attain true Nirvana. "

Wukong, do you understand the Buddhist principles I've spoken? Can you apply them to other situations and grasp the Zen meaning of the wordless book?" Tang Sanzang spoke animatedly, finally pausing to catch his breath.

Wukong was almost dizzy from listening. Hearing Tang Sanzang's question, he pondered for a long time before hesitantly saying, "Master, you've said so much, but I, Old Sun, don't quite understand. Does the Buddha mean that to deal with Mackey's Dream Mirror, one must undergo Nirvana and be reborn?"

Chapter 363

A Sense of Enlightenment Tang Sanzang's discourse left Wukong and the others completely bewildered, especially Bajie, who shook his head vigorously, saying, "Master, what you've said is truly profound, even more difficult to understand than the Buddha's wordless heavenly book. You're only making me more confused now. What can one do after abandoning the physical body?" "Good, what evil to punish?"

Tang Sanzang smiled calmly and said, "It seems Wuneng has wasted his time at Leiyin Temple. But it's understandable; you only eat and sleep, how could you have time to study Buddhism? Wasting time is inevitable. Brother, I told you a story about self-sacrifice for good a few days ago, do you remember it? Tell it to everyone, perhaps they can understand my argument just now."

Situ Yangguang nodded and said, "My brother has told me many stories these days, and I remember this story of self-sacrifice for good very well. Alright, I'll tell it to everyone."

"Will it be long? I feel sleepy again." Zhu Bajie whispered in Situ Yangguang's ear.

Situ Yangguang smiled gently at Bajie and told everyone a story: Long, long ago, there was a country called Yanfuti. Because the king was benevolent and governed the country well, the country was prosperous and peaceful. However, one thing made people inside and outside the palace uneasy: Queen Huishi had not conceived for many years.

Desperate for a son, the King and Queen prayed and sought divine intervention everywhere. Their efforts paid off, and the Queen became pregnant. The King was overjoyed upon hearing the news. He personally oversaw the Queen's daily life, and the entire palace was attentive to her needs. On an auspicious day, the Queen gave birth to a boy. The boy was handsome, and the entire court came to congratulate him. The King named the boy "Hui Deng" (meaning "wise lamp").

However, not long after, the King died. The Crown Prince was too young to rule the country, so after discussion, it was decided that the ministers would temporarily manage state affairs until the Crown Prince came of age.

Queen Hui was a very wise woman; she devoted all her energy to educating the Crown Prince. From a young age, the Crown Prince displayed extraordinary intelligence, learning everything quickly. When he was eight or nine, the Queen began teaching him reading, arithmetic, martial arts, horsemanship, and other skills. Because of his intelligence, by the age of fifteen, he had already achieved a high level of knowledge and ability.

The ministers felt that the Crown Prince was capable of governing the country and jointly petitioned for him to ascend the throne. A country cannot be without a ruler for a day, and the king had been dead for many years.

The prince hesitated, saying he did not want to be king because in his previous life he had been king for six years, and as a result, he had been reborn in hell for 60,000 years. He did not want to be reborn in hell again.

The ministers were perplexed. They asked, "Is there no way to solve this problem?"

The prince thought for a moment and replied, "There is a way. It is that all people in Jambudvipa, regardless of age or gender, as long as they can speak, should perform the Ten

Virtues of Buddhism." He knew this would not be easy, but he said that only then could he become king. The ministers were eager for the prince to ascend the throne, and according to his wish, they immediately issued a proclamation throughout the country, requiring all subjects to perform the Ten Virtues of Buddhism and refrain from killing. This was the will of the people, and the entire nation responded enthusiastically.

Seeing that the people of the country were all performing the Ten Virtues, the prince ascended the throne and became the king of the country. After his ascension, some strange phenomena occurred: Buddhist scriptures began to emerge from the ground in various places. The ministers knew these scriptures hidden underground were world treasures, and they suggested storing them in the king's library.

The king disagreed. He said, "These scriptures emerged to propagate Buddhism for the benefit of all beings; how can they be hidden away?" He suggested displaying these Buddhist texts at every major intersection in the kingdom, giving them to Brahmins and the poor, widowed, and elderly.

Soon, the intersections of Jambudvipa were filled with Buddhist scriptures, attracting the attention of Indra, the king of gods. Indra suspected the new king had ulterior motives, so he decided to test him.

Indra transformed into a man and came to a street corner where almsgiving was in full swing. Indra asked, "What are you doing?" One person replied, "The king tells us to practice the ten virtues." Indra looked puzzled: "Your king tells you to practice the ten virtues, but why does he tell me to practice the ten evils? What kind of trick is your king playing?"

The man quickly reported Indra's words to the ministers, who then hurriedly went to ask the king if it was true. The king replied, "I have ordered all eloquent people in the kingdom to practice the ten virtues, and I have never spoken of practicing the ten evils. Since someone says so, I will go and see!"

In a humble dwelling, the king met the man and asked him, "Did you say that I once instructed you to practice the ten evils?" Indra, the king of gods, answered affirmatively, "Indeed, you instructed me to practice the ten evils." The king knew that this man was deliberately saying this, so he did not argue with him and patiently said, "Could you change your practice from the ten evils to the ten virtues?"

The man replied, "That depends on your willingness. If you would allow me to eat your flesh and drink your blood raw, after I have finished eating and drinking, I will certainly practice the path of great compassion of a Bodhisattva and never do evil again."

The ministers were enraged by the man's words, but the king lowered his head and pondered. He thought of all the suffering he had endured in his past lives, the cruel slaughter he had suffered, and what did this little bit of flesh and blood matter now?

So the king took off his sword, cut off a piece of flesh from his thigh, put it in a vessel, and offered it to the man, saying sincerely, "Now that you have eaten my flesh and drunk my blood, you should go back and practice the ten virtues like everyone else!"

As soon as the king finished speaking, the man vanished, and Indra appeared before him. He soothed the king's wounds with heavenly dew, a compassionate smile on his face.

...

After Situ Yangguang finished telling the story, Pigsy was already drowsy, swaying as he lay down. Wukong patted his shoulder forcefully and said, "Pigsy, are you asleep again?" Pigsy struggled to open his eyes, forcing himself to stay awake, and said, "No, I was listening very attentively!"

"So what story did Situ Yangguang tell just now?" Wukong asked with a smile.

"Hmm, this... it seems to be about a person who cut off a piece of his own thigh meat to offer to others to eat, right? Hehe, thigh meat isn't tasty, if you want to eat, eat breast meat instead." Pigsy chuckled憨厚ly.

"You idiot, all you know is eating!" Wukong laughed and scolded.

Tang Sanzang greatly admired Situ Yangguang, saying, "Brother, you truly have a deep Buddhist aptitude. I was just telling you something casually, yet you remember it so clearly. It's truly remarkable. No wonder you are such a fortunate person. There are many people in the world who do good deeds, but few are like King Huideng, who was willing to shed blood and cut off his own flesh to demonstrate his determination to do good. King Huideng's flesh grew back from his bones because of his benevolent heart. Isn't that true in reality? Just like this time dealing with McKee, someone really needs to be willing to risk their life and sacrifice themselves. We've heard the story; what insights have you all gained?"

"What insights? Does it mean that if someone cuts off a piece of their thigh flesh for that demon king McKee, he will immediately lay down his butcher's knife and become a Buddha? The possibility is too low, isn't it? Besides, whose thigh flesh would they cut off?" Bajie asked doubtfully.

Everyone's eyes were on Bajie. Wukong, in particular, fixed his gaze on Bajie's round thighs, a malicious smile on his face.

"Oh dear, I knew you guys were up to no good! Trying to take advantage of me? No way!" Pigsy said guiltily, desperately trying to cover his thigh with his hands.

"But, besides you, you're the only one here with the most flesh on their thigh. If not yours, who else but mine? To rescue Yang Ru, for the sake of all living beings, Pigsy, you'll have to make this sacrifice, won't you?" Monkey deliberately teased him, a gleaming knife appearing in his hand, gesturing at Pigsy's thigh, muttering to himself, "Hehe, should I cut it off in one stroke, or in several? I think one cut is better, clean and neat, and it can also show off my skills..."

Pigsy's face changed, looking at Tang Sanzang with pleading eyes, crying, "Master, I haven't found my Gao Cuilan yet, I don't want to die!"

"Hehe, Wuneng, you're overthinking it. Who said I'd give you my thigh flesh? It was just an analogy. Can't you see Monkey is joking with you?" Tang Sanzang comforted him. Bajie finally breathed a long sigh of relief and said, "Brother, why are you joking about this? You scared me to death!"

"However, according to my analysis, since even Wukong couldn't take away McKee's Dream Mirror, and Buddha said the secret lies in the Book Without Words, then the responsibility of subduing McKee should fall on the shoulders of a destined person, which is you, my brother. Brother, are you prepared for this?" Tang Sanzang asked.

"Of course I'm prepared. I just understood the Book Without Words, and after what you all said, I feel it's my duty. To prevent the world from suffering, even if I lose my life, I'll do it!" Situ Yangguang's words deeply moved everyone, and their blood boiled.

"But... I'm worried, Wukong, is there any way to guarantee my brother's safety?" Tang Sanzang asked.

"Both Bajie and I have suffered from the magic mirror of the Mackintosh before. We only managed to escape because of a momentary lapse in attention. To this day, I can't think of any way to avoid being sucked into the chaotic world inside..." Wukong pondered for a moment before speaking to Tang Sanzang.

Situ Yangguang had a sudden flash of inspiration and said with a hint of understanding, "I understand..."

Chapter 364: A Multitude of People Sent Out

The streets and alleys of the US were filled with heavily armed military police. Anyone of color, whether black, yellow-skinned, or mixed-race, would be stopped and questioned if they lingered on the street for even a short time. From night until morning, the military police seemed tireless.

That morning, early in the morning, the military police were already stationed at various intersections conducting checks. Unfortunately, two yellow-skinned men came into their view. Walking on the street so early in the morning—wasn't that a bit inappropriate?

"Stop! What are you doing? Please show your ID!" a fully armed soldier ordered them. The dark muzzles of guns were pointed at the two men. However, the two men didn't seem afraid; they even had relaxed smiles on their faces.

These two smiling men were none other than Sun Wukong and Situ Yangguang. They had just arrived on Wukong's somersault cloud and hadn't gone far when they encountered the military police checkpoint.

"Wukong, what do we do?" Situ Yangguang glanced around. There were at least a dozen people on the other side, and each of them was carrying a submachine gun, exuding a murderous aura. Situ Yangguang felt a little panicked and whispered in Wukong's ear.

"Don't be afraid, I have a way to deal with them. Let me tell you, I just want to attract their attention," Wukong said to Situ Yangguang using telepathic communication. He calmly stopped and said to the soldier, "Who carries an ID card on the street so early in the morning? Aren't you looking for trouble?"

"Is that so? Did you forget your ID or do you not have one?" The soldier glanced at Wukong for a moment, a chill running down his spine. This person seemed vaguely familiar. After thinking for a while with his head down, he realized this person looked similar to the wanted poster. He quickly pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, examined it carefully, and then shouted, "You're the wanted criminal Sun Wukong! Hands up, cover your head! If you resist, I'll shoot!" His voice alerted the dozen or so soldiers, who all pointed their submachine guns at Wukong.

Wukong thought to himself, "When did I become a wanted criminal? So the military police really did mobilize to hunt me down. It seems I really had no choice." With that thought, Wukong suddenly attacked, his body whirling through the air as he appeared among the soldiers. A series of flying kicks spurred them on. Before they could even see Wukong's movements clearly, they only saw a black shadow flash before their eyes, and they were all struck by Wukong's kicks, flying straight away and crashing heavily to the ground. Most of them were dead, and the one or two who were still alive were in a deep coma, with little chance of waking up. Their submachine guns were scattered all over the ground, lying haphazardly.

The streets were nearly deserted early in the morning. Few people witnessed Wukong dealing with the police and military unit. One or two people saw it, but they were already fed up with the officers' tyranny and didn't want to get involved, so they pretended not to see anything and hurried away. However, a wealthy woman living in a nearby apartment got up to do her morning exercise on her balcony and witnessed the whole thing. She was so shocked her jaw dropped. "Oh my God," she exclaimed, "was that even human? It took more than ten lives in one go! It must be a devil!" She rushed into her apartment and called the police station. "Officer... I saw a devil!"

she cried. The officer who answered thought she was joking and was about to reprimand her when the woman stammered, "I just... I just saw more than ten police officers and soldiers being kicked away by one person... no, it should be a devil! Note, one kick. Yes, just one kick sent more than ten police officers and soldiers flying hundreds of meters, unable to get up again. They probably can't be saved!"

Situ Yangguang was astonished by the power of Wukong's kick and exclaimed with admiration, "Wukong, you truly are a hero! No wonder you were able to protect my brother on his journey to the West to retrieve the scriptures; you have such extraordinary abilities! I've truly broadened my horizons!" When they arrived, Wukong's somersault cloud had already transported Situ Yangguang to the United States in the blink of an eye, which had already made Situ Yangguang worship Wukong to the point of prostration. Now, seeing Wukong display this skill, Situ Yangguang was even more impressed, practically regarding Wukong as a god!

"Hehe, taking care of a dozen guys waving guns and showing off isn't worth your praise. The real show is yet to come!" Wukong chuckled to Situ Yangguang. "The main character hasn't even appeared yet; this is just the prelude, a warm-up."

"You mean McKee? Will he come personally?" Situ Yangguang asked. Having come prepared to risk his life, Situ Yangguang wasn't too afraid. From Wukong, Situ Yangguang already knew about McKee's perverse actions. This warmonger treated the lives of ordinary people like a game; if he continued his rampage, how many lives would be lost? It was unimaginable. Situ Yangguang, who always valued the lives of ordinary people more than his own, naturally wanted to eliminate him as soon as possible. Therefore, even knowing that this trip was extremely dangerous, even costing him his life, Situ Yangguang was fearless.

“McGee will definitely come, it’s just a matter of time. I’ll definitely lure him here. I know his personality; he won’t let me off easily, because in his mind, I’m a stumbling block to his world domination,” Wukong said confidently. “However, Situ Yangguang, you’re just a mortal, and your resistance to guns and cannons is very weak. I’ll draw a circle around you with my golden cudgel now. No matter what happens, you can’t leave this circle, understand?”

“Okay, I’ll listen to you,” Situ Yangguang agreed.

Wukong took the golden cudgel out of his ear, shook it in the wind, and it grew to the thickness of a bowl. With Situ Yangguang as the center, he drew a large circle. The large circle emitted a dazzling golden light, completely enveloping Situ Yangguang in golden light.

"Alright, now you are protected by the Buddha's light. As long as the Buddha's light doesn't go out, nothing can harm you. Do you remember the Heart Sutra that my master taught you to recite? Situ Yangguang, just recite the Heart Sutra well and don't leave this circle. You don't need to worry about what happens next. Just sit cross-legged, close your eyes, and recite the sutra." Wukong instructed.

"I remember, the Heart Sutra, I recite it very well." Situ Yangguang sat cross-legged, closed his eyes, and softly recited the

Heart Sutra: Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. When practicing the profound Prajnaparamita, he perceived that the five aggregates are empty, and thus transcended all suffering and distress. Shariputra, form is not different from emptiness. Emptiness is not different from form. Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form. Sensation, perception, volition, and consciousness are also like this. Shariputra, all dharmas are empty in nature. They are neither produced nor destroyed, neither defiled nor pure, neither increasing nor decreasing. Therefore, there is no form in emptiness. There is no sensation, perception, volition, or consciousness. There is no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind. There is no form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or dharma. There is no eye-consciousness, and so forth, up to no mind-consciousness. There is no ignorance, nor is there the cessation of ignorance, and so forth, up to no old age and death, nor is there the cessation of old age and death. There is no suffering, no origination, no cessation, no path. There is no wisdom, nor is there attainment. Because there is nothing to be attained, Bodhisattvas, relying on Prajnaparamita, have no hindrance in their minds, no fear, and are far removed from distorted views and dreams, ultimately attaining Nirvana. All Buddhas of the three times, relying on Prajnaparamita, attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi. Therefore, know that Prajnaparamita is the great divine mantra, the great bright mantra, the supreme mantra, the unequaled mantra, capable of removing all suffering, truly and without falsehood. Therefore, the Prajnaparamita mantra is spoken. The mantra is: Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha.

“I’ll let you know when McKee arrives. Do you remember our promise?” Wukong asked.

“I remember, I won’t forget,” Situ Yangguang’s voice came from within the halo.

Soon after, the sounds of car horns and the roar of airplanes overhead could be heard, all heading aggressively towards Wukong and his companions.

“They’re here. Looks like a big battle is inevitable.” Wukong whispered to Situ Yangguang, “Don’t worry about them, just keep chanting your scriptures.”

As he spoke, the vehicles arrived. Wow, the scene was intimidating. More than twenty military vehicles stopped not far from Wukong, and many soldiers jumped out. Wukong roughly counted; each vehicle carried more than ten soldiers, making it about three or four hundred in total. The weapons were a mixed bag, including sniper rifles, light machine guns, and several soldiers even carrying rocket launchers.

“Hmm, not bad equipment, and the firepower is decent, but it doesn’t seem very effective against me,” Wukong thought disdainfully.

Looking up at the sky, three helicopters circled overhead, their buzzing sound seemingly right next to his ears, making Wukong extremely uncomfortable. Each helicopter had two light machine guns protruding from the hatch; at a single command, those muzzles would mercilessly spew forth dazzling sparks.

"Attention, you two over there! You are surrounded! Put your hands up and come out to surrender. You have three minutes to drop your weapons and lie down, or we'll open fire in three minutes!" an officer-looking man shouted at Wukong and his companion through a megaphone. "

Heh heh, I know we're surrounded without even being told," Wukong thought with a disdainful sneer. Surrounded, so what? My goal is to escalate things and lure that guy, McGee, out. But, is McGee here yet? Why can't I hear McGee's voice?

"Don't waste your energy! Shoot if you want!" Wukong shouted at the officer, gripping his golden cudgel, a nonchalant smile on his face.

"Two minutes left! I'm giving you two last two minutes! If you don't surrender in two minutes, you'll face an irreversible fate!" the officer warned in his final moments. He seemed confident; in this situation, even someone with three heads and six arms would have to surrender obediently, right?

But he didn't know that his opponent was Sun Wukong! The Sun Wukong who didn't even put the Jade Emperor in his eyes!

"Damn it, this is so fussy! Just shoot if you want to, why pretend to be a gentleman?" Wukong was very unhappy. He reached out and grabbed a stone, throwing it at the officer's megaphone. A muffled thud was heard as the stone hit the officer's megaphone. The force of the impact sent the officer flying backward, knocking out two of his front teeth.

"Fire! Shoot him hard!" The officer, clutching his bleeding mouth, was enraged and gave the order harshly.

Suddenly, bullets rained down on Wukong and Situ Yangguang like locusts.

The helicopter overhead, seemingly in perfect unison, unleashed a barrage of gunfire, bullets raining down on Wukong and Situ Yangguang.

...

Chapter 365 A Net of Heaven and Earth

The dense firepower on the ground and from the helicopters combined to form a net of heaven and earth, aiming to annihilate Wukong and Situ Yangguang in one fell swoop. Wukong smiled calmly, thinking, this is nothing but child's play. Back when 100,000 heavenly soldiers and generals came to Flower Fruit Mountain to capture him, they all returned defeated. These mortals with light weapons are far inferior to 100,000 heavenly soldiers and generals. Of course, Wukong didn't take them seriously. He brandished his golden cudgel, and the dazzling golden light enveloped himself and Situ Yangguang, who was sitting cross-legged on the ground. Those outside could only see a ball of golden light spinning; they couldn't see a single person.

The whistling bullets, whether fired by soldiers on the ground or from the helicopters, all changed direction near the golden halo, heading straight for the soldiers using the vehicles for cover.

Ouch...ouch...after the gunfire, a series of agonizing screams followed. Soldiers who hadn't taken cover were riddled with bullets and fell to the ground. In an instant, many corpses littered the ground. The twenty-odd military vehicles were riddled with bullet holes, reduced to piles of scrap metal.

"Wh...what's going on? This is unbelievable! We can't hit them, but we're getting shot by our own bullets!" The officer, though experienced in many real battles and considered knowledgeable, had never witnessed such a bizarre scene before. His mind nearly short-circuited with fear, and he immediately shouted, "Stop! Cease fire! Prepare the rocket launchers!" Heh heh, you can stop bullets, but can you stop rocket launchers?

Five soldiers stepped out of formation and aimed their rocket launchers at Wukong. The other soldiers stared wide-eyed, secretly praying that the five rockets would blast Wukong to pieces.

"Fire!" the officer commanded, and five rockets flew towards Wukong like lightning.

"Well done!" Wukong chuckled, wielding his golden cudgel to meet them. Clang, clang, clang, clang—five crisp impacts followed. Three rockets veered off course and flew towards the three helicopters, while the other two flew back, hitting two cars that burst into flames. The three rockets that flew into the air struck their targets precisely, hitting all three helicopters simultaneously. They exploded spectacularly in mid-air, trailing long plumes of smoke as they plummeted to the ground, quickly turning into three piles of debris.

"Pretty accurate! My eyesight is good!" Wukong couldn't help but praise himself. Looking at the three helicopters lying on the ground in the distance, they were truly a mess; perhaps they were all reduced to fragments? The two unfortunate cars were also blasted to smithereens by the returning rockets, now engulfed in flames and billowing smoke…

The surviving soldiers on the ground, witnessing this tragic scene, were chilled to the bone. They hurriedly moved far away from the two cars, hiding among other vehicles, not daring to peek out. However, everyone knew that the fire would soon engulf them. The officer, in particular, was utterly terrified, his mind completely blank. He grabbed the satellite phone and dialed command post, requesting armored vehicle and fighter jet support: "Headquarters? This is Lieutenant Will. I encountered a bandit on Xili Street. Fifty-two soldiers were killed, sixty-eight were seriously wounded, and three helicopters were shot down. Requesting support from headquarters!"

A general answered the phone. Upon hearing Lieutenant Will's words, he flew into a rage, saying, "What are you doing? You couldn't even handle a bandit with an entire army? What will become of the reputation of our American army? You must know that our army is not only equipped with world-class weapons, but also has the world's best combat capabilities! How could one person defeat your entire army?"

Lieutenant Will's voice trembled as he said, "Yes, General, that's exactly it! Our bullets and rockets had no effect on him. He seems to possess a strange power, an invincible power..."

"Nonsense! Spreading rumors! If you're not capable enough, don't exaggerate the enemy's strength! If you dare to spread rumors again, you'll be court-martialed!" the general said angrily.

Lieutenant Will fell silent. However, looking around, the reality was too grim. He dared not fire, and with all his cars reduced to scrap metal, he was truly trapped. The two men on the other side—one sitting on the ground, eyes closed in repose, the other standing calmly, seemingly unperturbed. Yet, the intense killing intent emanating from them was palpable even from a distance; he felt that a single turn could mean certain death. Therefore, Lieutenant Will dared not flee, nor order his soldiers to fire.

What to do? Was he to simply wait to die here? Lieutenant Will asked himself. No, he needed headquarters to send reinforcements.

So, he dialed headquarters.

"Hello, this is headquarters. Are you Lieutenant Will?" The same general answered, his tone already impatient.

“Yes, this is Lieutenant Will. General, although you may not want to hear my voice right now, I still have to tell you, our situation is very bad. Nearly half of our soldiers have been killed or wounded, and the attack is stalled. If this stalemate continues, the seriously wounded may be in mortal danger! Please send reinforcements. If possible, please send ten armored vehicles and five fighter jets,” Lieutenant Will pleaded.

“Are you sure you really need this kind of assistance? You need to think carefully. This kind of battle will be recorded in our military history textbooks—but as a negative example. And you will be the most failed officer in history,” the general mocked.

“Even so, I accept it. If I don't get reinforcements, I'll be a dead officer,” Lieutenant Will said pessimistically.

“Fine, hold on for ten minutes. Reinforcements will be here soon!” the general said helplessly.

“Hey, what’s going on? Why have you all stopped firing?” Wukong asked Lieutenant Will, who was huddled next to an abandoned car.

Lieutenant Will, with the car as cover, felt some of his fear subside and said loudly, "We'll call a temporary truce. The soldiers came in a rush, without even eating. They need to replenish their food supplies. We'll resume the battle in ten minutes. You don't object, do you?"

Wukong chuckled inwardly. These American soldiers were paper tigers. They were always so arrogant, talking about attacking this and that, but when they met Old Sun, they cowered obediently to the side. He knew, of course, that they were waiting for reinforcements, and the food replenishment was just Will's excuse. Wukong didn't want to expose him. His goal was to lure out McKee. It didn't matter how many the enemy sent; it would be best if McKee came in person, saving him the trouble of searching for him.

"Alright, you guys eat slowly. After you're full, we'll continue playing. My advice to you is to eat your fill. It's better to die well than starve! Hahaha!" Wukong laughed heartily.

The other soldiers hid behind the car, not daring to even breathe. There were many soldiers' corpses around him. Just moments ago, they were alive and well, laughing and joking with him, and now they were cold, lifeless bodies. How cruel was that feeling? And the enemy hadn't fired a single shot, yet they had already inflicted heavy losses on his army. How terrifying was such an opponent? Therefore, to save their lives, the remaining soldiers dared not pull the trigger again. Perhaps, even if Lieutenant Will dared to order his soldiers to fire, they wouldn't dare to take the risk. Who knew when a bullet would fly into their chest?

"Sir, are we just going to sit here and wait to die?" a soldier beside Will stammered.

"Do you have a better plan?" Lieutenant Will said impatiently. "Didn't you hear me call headquarters? Reinforcements will be here soon."

"But, will headquarters really send reinforcements?" the soldier said doubtfully. "You doubt headquarters' decision? Do you believe I'll shoot you dead?" To his subordinates, Lieutenant Will, who had been so vulnerable on the phone, now became scorching and menacing. The soldier turned pale with fright, quickly took a few steps back, and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't say anything." Then he fled.

The wait was agonizing; those ten minutes felt like an eternity. Lieutenant Will kept checking his watch, but the hands seemed to have stopped. Finally, he heard a rumbling sound in the distance. Based on experience, Will judged it to be the sound of armored vehicles.

They're here! They're finally here! Will's usually stern face finally brightened. He listened intently for a moment, then looked up, his face beaming with delight, and said to the soldiers, "Listen carefully, everyone, can you hear a faint sound?"

The soldiers listened intently, and one exclaimed excitedly, "I hear it! It's armored vehicles! Our support troops are here!"

A sharp-eared soldier exclaimed even more excitedly, "I also heard the sound of fighter jets! Heh, headquarters wasn't lying to us after all!" Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, five fighter jets appeared in the sky, circling overhead and attempting to fly low to scout the ground.

Lieutenant Will stripped off his clothes and frantically waved them around, afraid the soldiers on the battlefield wouldn't see him and might drop the bombs in the wrong place, which would be disastrous.

Meanwhile, ten armored vehicles rumbled in from the ground.

The entire street was thick with the smell of gunpowder. (Chapter 366,

April 25th )

Facing the ever-approaching danger, Situ Yangguang seemed completely oblivious, remaining seated cross-legged on the ground, eyes closed, intently chanting incantations. Wukong, seeing this, was greatly impressed, thinking, "Situ Yangguang truly has the potential to be a monk! His meditation skills are comparable to Tang Sanzang's! Amidst the chaos of war, he remained completely unfazed, not even needing to open his eyelids, as if the events had nothing to do with him. This level of skill cannot be achieved without decades of dedicated practice, yet the young Situ Yangguang has attained it—what could this be but fate?"

Rumbling, rumbling, ten Bradley M2 tracked armored fighting vehicles were hurtling towards Wukong and his companions at over sixty kilometers per hour. These M2 infantry fighting vehicles are used to transport infantry troops on the battlefield, provide fire support, and suppress enemy tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. The M2 has a crew of three and can carry six personnel. Its main armament includes a 25mm M242 cannon with a standard rate of fire of 200 rounds per minute, an M240C 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, a TOW BGM71 anti-tank system with a range of 3.75 kilometers, two M257 smoke grenade launchers, and a VTA903T engine, achieving a top speed of 66 kilometers per hour. The vehicle is amphibious, with a water speed of 7.2 kilometers per hour. It can be said that this armored fighting vehicle is the most advanced armored vehicle in the United States.

Wukong, however, was quite unfamiliar with this cumbersome vehicle. Seeing ten powerful iron horses galloping towards him, Wukong simply smiled and said, "Hehe, even iron horses are making their appearance! You may not know, but I, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, was once the Keeper of the Heavenly Horses, so I know horses better than anyone! Come on, come on, I will slowly tame you!"

Flying in the sky were five F/A-22 Raptor fighter jets. The Raptor fighter jet is a fearsome weapon for many nations. It played a crucial role in the conquest of neighboring countries, devastating them with bombs, yet remaining undetected by enemy radar, appearing and disappearing mysteriously. In the early 21st century, the Raptor was the most expensive fighter jet available. It was equipped with an active phased array radar, AIM-9X short-range air-to-air missiles, AIM-120C medium-range air-to-air missiles, vector thrust, advanced integrated avionics, and a robust human-machine interface. Its design features supersonic cruise, beyond-visual-range combat, high maneuverability, and radar and infrared stealth capabilities, ensuring its dominance among heavy fighter jets for a considerable period.

Wukong was attacked from both sides by two of the most advanced weapons, yet he remained oblivious to the approaching danger. His expression showed no panic; a closer look revealed a slight smile on his lips, like a playful child encountering a fun game, filled with anticipation and excitement.

The five fighter jets merely circled at low altitude, not taking any action for the time being, perhaps because of the distance and their concern about accidentally hitting their own men. However, the armored vehicles ahead were a different story. Three in a row, they roared and charged straight towards Wukong. The soldiers huddled behind the vehicles now showed their faces, watching the oncoming armored vehicles with expectant eyes, some even cheering excitedly.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Sparks flew from the cannons on the armored vehicles as shells hurtled towards Wukong.

"A fire-breathing horse? Haha, this is fun! This iron horse can breathe fire!" Wukong leaped up, dodging the shells, and reached the side of one of the armored vehicles. Wukong wasn't worried about Situ Yangguang sitting on the ground, because he was protected by golden light, and external forces couldn't harm him. Sure enough, the shells flew high into the air near Situ Yangguang, obliterating buildings hundreds of meters behind him, while Situ Yangguang remained seated, seemingly unaware that danger had just brushed past him.

With no more worries, Wukong swung his golden cudgel and leaped high into the air, smashing it down onto an armored vehicle. A deafening roar, like an earthquake, echoed as the unfortunate vehicle was crushed, half-dented by Wukong's blow. The soldiers inside screamed and cried, unable to escape; the roof was smashed to a pulp and couldn't be lifted.

"Help! Help us out!" came the desperate cries from within. The sturdy metal shell had become a hindrance.

Rat-a-tat-tat, heavy fire erupted from the nearby armored vehicles. Wukong swung his cudgel, concealing himself in a shimmering golden light. Bullets flew back in all directions, clanging against the armored vehicles. The surviving soldiers, who had assumed Wukong was surely dead with the armored vehicles and fighter jets protecting him, had ventured out to see what was happening. Unexpectedly, a dozen more were hit by the returning bullets, adding another dozen or so corpses to the ground.

"Hahaha, this is so much fun! Don't stop, I'll play with you forever!" Wukong laughed loudly. Protected by golden light, Wukong ignored the dense bullets, raised his golden cudgel and struck again, completely destroying the armored vehicle! The soldiers inside were also silent.

"Ah, God! He's not human, he's a devil!" The soldiers in the other nine armored vehicles all witnessed this horrific scene and stopped firing in horror. If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, who would believe that one person could smash an armored vehicle to pieces?

"Your turn!" Wukong was about to walk to the next armored vehicle when a fighter jet hovering in the air flashed, and a missile shot towards Wukong with incredible speed. The soldiers on the fighter jet confirmed Wukong's position. Although Wukong was in the middle of the armored formation and might harm their comrades, they were going all in. Moreover, they were very confident in the accuracy of the missile and were determined to hit it with one strike.

Wukong's ears were incredibly sharp. Hearing an object hurtling through the air, he simply twisted his waist and was already hundreds of meters away. The missile landed precisely where Wukong had just been standing, blasting the nearby armored vehicle into pieces.

The arms and legs of the unfortunate soldiers inside flailed in the air before falling to the ground in fragments.

"Those bastards! They're firing missiles randomly right here! It's outrageous!" The soldiers in the remaining eight armored vehicles were indignant. They hadn't expected the enemy to miss, but instead, their own people were hit. They were furious. "Hehe, not bad, I can save some energy!" Wukong thought. Why not go and lure them into attacking, then take the opportunity to destroy all eight armored vehicles, and settle the score with the fighter jets flying in the sky later?

With his mind made up, Wukong twisted his body and went to the last armored vehicle in the first row, jumped onto the roof, and brandished his golden cudgel, twisting and turning his body as if dancing. The bullets fired from the other vehicles all changed direction before reaching Wukong, scattering in all directions.

A flash of fire in mid-air, and another missile whistled through the air. Wukong did the same, leaping away and disappearing again. The missile, true to its word, detonated on the roof of the armored vehicle. The poor soldiers inside became cannon fodder once more. And the ones who took their lives were their own comrades.

"Damn bastards, were they doing this on purpose?" The soldiers in the seven surviving armored vehicles were furious. But besides expressing their indignation, they couldn't think of a better way to retaliate, so they vented their anger on Wukong, firing even more densely at him. However, these bullets were completely ineffective against Wukong, unable to even get close.

Seeing only three armored vehicles intact on the ground, the other seven destroyed by missiles, the soldiers in those three vehicles felt as if it were the end of the world, fearing they would be the next target. They turned their vehicles around and fled in the direction they came from.

"Heh heh, trying to escape? Not so easy! It's your turn now." Wukong chased after them, smashing the three fleeing armored vehicles into piles of scrap metal with three consecutive blows of his staff.

"Sigh, so easily defeated! They only look tough, but they're just useless iron cogs." Wukong muttered disdainfully to himself. Looking at the twenty-odd military vehicles, more than half were charred black by the fire, and behind the few remaining vehicles, some pale faces were peeking out furtively.

"Come out! No need to sneak around, I know you're not all dead yet," Wukong said to the air.

"We surrender! Don't kill us!" A hundred or two soldiers emerged from behind the military vehicles, throwing their weapons to the ground, hands clasped, heads bowed in dejection. One soldier produced a white cloth from somewhere and waved it wildly in the sky, signaling the fighter jets not to drop missiles. Perhaps the pilots in the fighter jets saw what was happening on the ground, so they indeed temporarily refrained from launching missiles.

A man who appeared to be an officer, surrounded by several soldiers, approached Wukong and said, "Hero, this is our commander, Lieutenant Will. He has also surrendered. Please spare us."

"Spare you, no problem. My target was never you. You're a lieutenant, which means you're an officer? Immediately find a way to contact your so-called Commander-in-Chief, McKee, and tell him that I, Sun Wukong, am waiting for him here! No need for him to issue a warrant for my arrest; I'll come to him of my own accord." Wukong said to Will.

"Okay, I'll contact him now." Lieutenant Will took out a satellite phone, intending to call headquarters.

At that moment, a flash of light appeared in the sky, and another fighter jet launched a missile towards the ground.

Chapter 367 Chaotic Illusion

Seeing that the missiles on the fighter jets had already been launched, it was obvious that the target was Wukong. Wukong leaped forward, already hundreds of meters away. The poor soldiers who had surrendered to Wukong with their hands raised hadn't even had time to hide when a flash of fire followed by a deafening explosion. All the soldiers were blown to pieces; not a single intact body could be found. It was

truly horrific. Those were pitiful wretches who had given up resistance, yet they met such a fate, and the ones who caused their deaths were people wearing the same military uniforms as them. Even Wukong felt a pang of pity at such a gruesome sight. He roared and rode his somersault cloud into the air. The pilot of the fighter jet that had just launched the missiles saw a figure fly past, but before he could clearly see whether it was a person or a large bird, he heard a loud bang on his fuselage, as if the fuselage had been struck by a solid metal object. The entire fighter jet lurched and then crashed uncontrollably to the ground.

"God, save me!" The pilot only managed to utter a short prayer before he went to report to his God along with the exploding fighter jet.

"My God, what happened?" The pilots of the other four fighter jets all witnessed the scene just now. It was like seeing a ghost in broad daylight. How could a person fly into the sky? And even shoot down a fighter jet? It was terrifying. The four pilots were so shocked that they forgot what to do, staring blankly as their comrade's fighter jet crashed to the ground, engulfed in flames. Then, as if just coming to their senses, the machine guns on the fighter jets fired at Wukong simultaneously, but in the blink of an eye, Wukong's figure disappeared again, as if playing hide-and-seek with the fighter jets in mid-air.

"Strange, where did that person go?" one of the soldiers on the fighter jet asked his comrade in confusion.

"I don't know, was it just my eyes playing tricks on me? Or was it just an illusion? Or was there basically no one there? Maybe it was just our own overreaction causing us to have an illusion?" his comrade comforted him.

"But I clearly saw someone fly into the air just now! And, undeniably, one fighter jet was shot down! My God, there really are ghosts in this world!" the soldier said, trembling with fear. No

sooner had he finished speaking than a loud bang was heard, and the fighter jet was smashed and exploded in mid-air by Wukong's golden cudgel. A huge fireball plummeted straight to the ground.

Repeating the same method, in less than two minutes, only one of the five fighter jets remained. That last jet completely lost the will to fight and slunk away with its tail between its legs. Wukong didn't chase after it. He didn't want to wipe them out completely; he was still counting on them to go back and inform McKee. If he took care of them all, wouldn't it be difficult for him to find McKee himself?

With the last fighter jet escaped, Wukong descended from the clouds and returned to Situ Yangguang's side. Looking around, the once bustling and vibrant place had become a living hell. Burning buildings, burning fighter jets, armored vehicles, and military trucks were everywhere, along with corpses lying scattered on the ground… the entire street had become a horrific battlefield.

But Situ Yangguang seemed to be in a meditative state, motionless, eyes closed, muttering to himself. He seemed completely unconcerned and unafraid of the brutal battle.

“Alright, Situ Yangguang, we can stop now. If I’m not mistaken, McKee should be here within twenty minutes, so we have twenty minutes to rest,” Wukong said to the meditating Situ Yangguang.

"Gone? They're gone?" Situ Yangguang stopped, opened his eyes, and looked around. His face was filled with astonishment, his mouth agape as he stared at Wukong in disbelief. "What... what happened? You destroyed all these iron machines?"

"It wasn't entirely my doing. A large portion of those iron horses were knocked down by bombs fired from their own planes, which indirectly helped me. However, I sent a fighter jet as a carrier pigeon to help them escape back and arrange for McKee to meet me here, saving me the trouble of searching for him everywhere!" Wukong said with a smile.

"Too... too terrifying! Sigh, modern warfare is much more brutal than in the Tang Dynasty. It seems that technological development isn't all good. These weapons are simply destructive. I heard from Situ Yu that humans have also invented nuclear bombs, whose power is even more astonishing. A single nuclear bomb can raze a city to the ground. Humanity's destructive power is truly immense!" Situ Yangguang looked at the devastation around him, feeling an urge to vomit, and said with deep emotion.

"But humanity keeps developing even more destructive weapons, tirelessly and endlessly, wishing they could create a weapon overnight that would be invincible. If this continues, there will never be peace! The world will become a killing field, and innocent people will always suffer..." Wukong deeply agreed. The television was constantly broadcasting news of war: the annexation of smaller countries by larger ones, armed conflicts between nations and ethnic groups, and endless wars between religious sects. The reasons varied, but the ultimate goal was always the same: profit.

If there were no war, the world would be peaceful.

As Wukong and Situ Yangguang were sighing, McKee suddenly appeared before them.

"McGee? You've finally shown yourself?" Wukong looked at McGee, who had come alone, and asked in confusion, "Weren't you supposed to be the Commander-in-Chief of the Three Armies? How come

you're all alone? Where are the others?" McGee glanced at the scattered corpses and plane wreckage around him, gasped, and said fiercely, "Sun Wukong, so your purpose wasn't just to find people, you're also deliberately going against me?"

"Hahaha, you're right. It seems you're not only physically strong, but also quite intelligent, capable of thinking things through! Yes, McGee, your end is near. Your perverse actions are outrageous. Do you really think you can become the world's overlord?" Wukong said with a grin.

"Why not? I am the world's overlord! In less than a year, I will rule this world! However, unfortunately, you won't have the chance to see that glorious day!" McGee said arrogantly.

"Stop dreaming. Your days are numbered. What world overlord are you talking about?"

"But what makes you think you can? Just the two of you? Are you confident you can defeat me?" McGee asked. As he spoke, McKee already held his signature weapon, the Dream Mirror, in his hand, and said with a cold laugh, "You've seen this magic mirror before, but you still walked right into its trap. You only have yourself to blame!"

"So what? Can you put both of us in there?" Wukong asked disdainfully. Wukong's question amused McKee, who laughed arrogantly until tears streamed down his face. Then he shone the magic mirror at Wukong, who stood still without flinching. In the blink of an eye, the mirror sucked Wukong in.

"Hahaha, this time you can't escape! And you, what are you doing sitting on the ground? Reflecting on your actions? Come in with me!" McKee shone the magic mirror at Situ Yangguang, who also entered the mirror.

"Hehehe, two pathetic fellows! Quite the boast, but I subdued you! Enjoy yourselves inside. In a year, you'll automatically turn into blood and merge with the chaotic world, becoming a speck of dust in the vast universe!" McGee laughed for a while, then carefully placed the magic mirror back against his chest.

...

Entering the magic mirror, he found himself in a hazy, gray world, devoid of birdsong or fragrant flowers, only thick fog. Wukong was no stranger to this chaotic world; he and Bajie had both been here before. So, he quickly adapted, thinking that Situ Yangguang must have entered as well, and called out loudly, "Situ Yangguang, are you here too? Where are you?"

"I'm here! Wukong, where am I? I can't see anything!" a voice faintly echoed. Wukong followed the sound and found Situ Yangguang, looking around blankly.

“Don’t be afraid, I’m right here beside you.” Wukong reached out and grasped Situ Yangguang’s hand. “This is the chaotic world I told you about, the illusion within the Magic Mirror of the Dream. How do you feel?”

Holding Wukong’s hand, Situ Yangguang felt much more at ease and said, “When we came in, I felt like I couldn’t breathe, but I feel much better now. Wukong, this place is deserted, with no exit, no future. Can we really get out?”

“I hope the wordless book of the Buddha can really help us. Otherwise, there really is no way out. Bajie and I have both been trapped here. This time, I came in with a bit of a do-or-die attitude. If we can’t break through, you and I will both be trapped here. Do you regret it?” Wukong asked.

"No, I don't regret it!" Situ Yangguang shook his head vigorously and said, "If it can save all the people of the world from the suffering of war, even if it costs me my life, I won't flinch!" Wukong smiled at Situ Yangguang. Situ Yangguang was indeed a person with great love. The people of the world were fortunate. He said, "Sit down first, calm your mind, and repeatedly recite the Vairocana Buddha mantra. I'll go and walk around to see if Yang Ru is really imprisoned here by Maiji."

"Okay, Wukong, go ahead. Om, Namo Bhagavate, Sarva, Durgade, Parishudani, Rojaya, Tathagataya, Arhat, Samyaksambuddhaya, Tayatha, Om, Shudani, Shudani, Sarva, Babang, Vishudani, Shude, Vishude, Sarva, Karma, Avalana, Vishudanaye, Svaha..." Situ Yangguang sat cross-legged on the ground, his hands clasped together, and gently recited the Vairocana Buddha mantra.

Chapter 368 Tears of Joy

In the chaotic illusion, Yang Ru silently counted the days in the darkness. When she first entered, everything was so unfamiliar, so helpless. She didn't know where she was; everything around her was chaos, thick fog, she couldn't see any living thing, nor could she hear a sound, not even the chirping of birds or crickets. In the chaotic illusion, there was only silence, and she could hear her own breathing.

Yang Ru couldn't remember how many days had passed, probably almost a year? She drifted between waking and sleeping every day, completely unaware of any news from the outside world. She only remembered that she had ended up in this situation because of investigating the Century Club fire, exposing the corruption of officials, and thus offending powerful figures, resulting in this fate. She worried about how her elderly parents must be worried and anxious during her long absence.

She hated those corrupt officials; their methods of revenge were so cruel, trapping her in this predicament with no way out—what difference was there between her and waiting to die? However, one thing puzzled Yang Ru: no one brought her food, yet she felt no hunger. She'd been here for quite some time, yet she'd survived almost a year without food or water—it was truly strange and perplexing.

Later, more people came in. Because she was a woman, Yang Ru didn't dare to speak to them. However, from their fragmented narratives, she learned they were all high-ranking officials, seemingly all grudges against a man named McKee. One of them, claiming to be the commander-in-chief of the US army, navy, and air force, constantly boasted that he would tear McKee apart once he got out. But as time went on, his boasts grew quieter, as if he had given up hope of ever seeing the light of day again.

Yang Ru gradually became pessimistic. In her emptiness and loneliness, besides missing her parents, she thought most about the days she spent with Wukong. Her heart called out for Wukong, but she also knew in her heart that she might never see him again in this lifetime.

Yet, she couldn't help but think of Wukong. Today was no different; she lay awake in the darkness, her mind filled with Wukong's image.

"Yang Ru, are you there? It's me, Sun Wukong!" In her dazed state, a very familiar voice called out.

Sun Wukong? It was Sun Wukong's voice! Yang Ru shook her head violently; perhaps she had been in the chaotic illusion for too long and was hallucinating. She pinched her thigh hard, trying to wake herself from the dream.

But then, that familiar and warm voice rang in her ears again: "Yang Ru, can you hear me? If you can, please answer."

Yes, it must be Wukong's voice! Convinced she wasn't hallucinating, a warm feeling welled up in Yang Ru's heart. She involuntarily opened her mouth, calling out, "Wukong, I'm here!" Having not spoken for so long, Yang Ru had practically lost the ability to speak; her words sounded stiff and dry, not at all like her own, utterly unfamiliar.

Her voice was very faint, quickly disappearing into the boundless, chaotic illusion. But Wukong caught this faint sound, and he exclaimed joyfully, "Yang Ru, is it really you?"

"Yes, I'm here!" Tears streamed down Yang Ru's face. To her, Wukong's voice was more melodious than celestial music. Was the person she had longed for day and night nearby? Was it a dream or reality?

Yang Ru's suspicion lasted only a short time. Wukong had already followed the sound to Yang Ru's side. His fiery eyes pierced through the thick fog and saw the beautiful and delicate Yang Ru. Although she had been trapped for a long time, Yang Ru's beauty remained unchanged. She stood there blankly, her expectant eyes straining to open in the darkness, murmuring, "Wukong, I'm here! Where are you?"

Wukong strode over, grabbed Yang Ru's soft hand, and said tenderly, "Yang Ru, I'm here!" Before he could finish speaking, Yang Ru had already thrown herself into Wukong's arms, embracing him and weeping with joy. She held Wukong tightly and whispered, "It really is you, Wukong, it really is you!" Yang Ru would never forget the familiar scent on Wukong. That voice, that familiar scent, who else could it be but Wukong?

Wukong felt a coolness on his chest. Looking down, he saw that Yang Ru's tears had soaked his clothes. He lowered his head and patted Yang Ru's back tenderly, saying, "Xiao Ru, I'm too late, I'm sorry you had to suffer!"

Yang Ru tilted her head back, stood on tiptoe, and kissed Wukong's lips with her fragrant lips. At this moment, words were superfluous. Yang Ru transformed her pent-up longing into boundless passion, releasing it all.

This long kiss was so intense that the world seemed to lose its color, the sun and moon lost their light, and they completely forgot the passage of time and where they were.

For a long, long time, almost breathless, Yang Ru reluctantly withdrew her tongue from Wukong's mouth, stroked Wukong's face with her hand, and asked as if she had just remembered something, "Wukong, how did you get in? Were you also captured by that guy named McKee?"

"I wasn't passively captured by him, I came in on my own initiative, because I learned from that despicable deputy director that you were imprisoned by McKee, so I ran in myself, and sure enough, I found you. It was worth the trip," Wukong said.

Yang Ru burst into tears again, choking back sobs as she said, "Wukong, you're so good to me! But, do you have a way to leave here?"

“There is a way, but I don’t know if it will work. There’s another person who came in with me, his name is Situ Yangguang, a kind and virtuous person. I think we can use his power to break through McKee’s chaotic illusion and go out to breathe fresh air again!” Wukong comforted her.

“That’s great! I can go out and see my mom and dad again!” Yang Ru said happily.

“Don’t worry, your parents are in good health, they just miss you terribly. I think they would be overjoyed if they saw you appear in front of them safe and sound!”

“You’ve met my parents?”

“Yes, before I came to M country, Situ Yu and I met your parents.” Wukong said.

“Situ Yu? She came too? I really want to see her.” Yang Ru said happily.

“She really wanted to come, but considering the dangers this time, I didn’t bring her with me. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to see each other after we get out! There’s no rush.” Wukong reassured her. After observing Yang Ru for a while, Wukong said reassuredly, "Little Ru, although you've been imprisoned for almost a year, your spirits are still quite good."

Yang Ru touched her cheek and said happily, "Really? Can you see my face? Has it really not changed? I don't know how long it's been since I've washed myself; I was worried I'd become an ugly monster."

"Hehe, my eyes are almost like an owl's; I can see very clearly even in the dark. Of course I can see your face clearly, even your tear stains. Luckily, you're naturally beautiful, otherwise you'd be truly unsightly. Don't cry anymore, or your eyes will swell up and you'll really become an ugly monster. If you want to see things, it's easy; watch me." Wukong said with a smile, then took the golden cudgel out of his ear, blew on it, and it grew to the thickness of a bowl, emitting a shimmering golden light that illuminated an area of more than ten meters around.

"Hehe, I haven't seen light in ages since I came in. It feels so good to see light now." Although Yang Ru was initially blinded by the dazzling light from the golden cudgel, she couldn't suppress her joy and strained to open her big eyes, gazing at Wukong's face as if she could never get enough.

"Hehe, I've seen you again, why are you crying? To be honest, if you were here, I'd be willing to stay here forever." Yang Ru said, then shyly buried her head in Wukong's chest.

"Then...then let's not go out, okay?" Wukong teased her.

"Fine! We won't go out! But...could I see my parents so they don't worry?" Yang Ru stammered. Wukong gently pinched her cute nose with two fingers and said, "Hehe, I thought your resolve was so strong, but it turns out you still can't let go of your parents. Silly girl, I was just teasing you. Did you think I was a pervert? Staying in this godforsaken place would drive a normal person crazy!"

"Then why haven't I become crazy?" Yang Ru asked with a smile.

"You're showing some signs of being crazy, crying one minute and laughing the next. You're probably already in a state of near-crazy mental illness," Wukong chuckled. Yang Ru punched Wukong's chest with her small fist and pouted, saying, "Am I crazy? Oh dear, I really have become crazy. I like to hit people for no reason, and my hands are out of control!"

Seeing Yang Ru's bright smile, Wukong's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled down. To be honest, before seeing Yang Ru again, Wukong's biggest worry was Yang Ru's mental state. This chaotic illusion was too easy to cause hallucinations, and staying there for a long time could easily lead to a mental breakdown. Thankfully, Yang Ru pulled through. This was due to her excellent mental fortitude and, more importantly, her tenacious will to survive. She had so much attachment to life, and it was this attachment that helped her overcome the ordeal.

Yang Ru's smile also infected Wukong. He took Yang Ru's hand and said happily, "It's so good! I finally see the ever-smiling Yang Ru again!"

Chapter 369 Occupational Hazard

Wukong, holding Yang Ru's hand, found Situ Yangguang. He saw him still sitting cross-legged on the ground, muttering incantations. Everything around him seemed irrelevant; he closed his eyes, entering a state of complete absorption.

"Is that Situ Yangguang who came in with you? He's such a young man, but the way he sits chanting is so much like a highly accomplished monk..." Using the light from Wukong's golden cudgel, Yang Ru saw Situ Yangguang. His unwavering gaze aroused Yang Ru's curiosity, and she whispered in Wukong's ear.

"Yes, that's him," Wukong whispered in reply. "Let's not disturb him, just watch quietly from the side. Don't distract him; he's concentrating on his internal energy." Wukong noticed a thin layer of sweat on Situ Yangguang's forehead, knowing he was engaged in a fierce battle with the Dream Mirror, his fate uncertain.

Suddenly, Situ Yangguang's breathing became heavy, the sweat on his forehead the size of beans, and white smoke billowed from his head. A look of pain appeared on his face. A trickle of blood slowly seeped from his nostrils.

"Oh no, danger!" Wukong exclaimed in alarm. It seemed Situ Yangguang's power was insufficient to contend with the Dream Mirror. Wukong quickly held his Ruyi Jingu Bang upright beside him, freeing his hands, and placed them on Situ Yangguang's back. A powerful surge of internal energy flowed continuously into Situ Yangguang's body, and his complexion gradually calmed, his breathing slowly returning to normal.

"Whew, that was close!" Wukong secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but still dared not be careless, keeping his hands firmly pressed against Situ Yangguang's back. With Wukong's strong support, Situ Yangguang concentrated even more intently on reciting the Vairocana Buddha mantra.

Yang Ru watched nervously from the side. Although she didn't understand what Situ Yangguang was chanting, judging from his solemn expression, he must be doing something important, perhaps related to the Chaos Mirror. Looking around, the thick, cotton-like fog gradually thinned, and a series of rumbling sounds came faintly from above.

The ground beneath their feet began to tremble slightly, then the trembling became more and more violent, as if the ground beneath their feet was about to crack and explode. The thick fog that lingered in the chaotic illusion began to thin, thinner and thinner…

Then came a deafening explosion. Yang Ru felt dizzy, her vision went black, and she knew nothing more…

When Yang Ru woke up, she found herself lying on a patch of lush green grass, the long-awaited sun overhead. She took a deep breath of the air, which carried the faint scent of grass. This felt so good; everything was so familiar. The sky was still the familiar sky, the earth was still the familiar earth, the lovely blue sky and white clouds—I love you all so much!

“Hehe, you’re awake?” A smiling face greeted Yang Ru.

“Wukong! We’re out?” Yang Ru sat up abruptly, hugged Wukong tightly, and exclaimed happily, “We’re free! Haha, we’re finally free!” She couldn’t help but kiss Wukong on the cheek.

“Oh dear, this isn’t suitable for children!” a voice said from the side, dramatically covering its eyes.

Only then did Yang Ru realize there was someone beside her. Looking closely, she saw it was Situ Yangguang, smiling at them. Not far away, a mangled body lay face down, its features obscured. Beside it lay five men in suits, their limbs slowly twitching, as if they were about to wake up.

A blush crept onto Yang Ru's face. She had been so engrossed in the moment that she hadn't even noticed Situ Yangguang beside her.

"Alright, it's good that you're awake! Xiao Ru, you're finally free again, aren't you happy?" Wukong knew Yang Ru was embarrassed by the kiss earlier, so he quickly changed the subject.

"Of course! I feel like I've escaped death. Ah, I've never felt the sky was so beautiful, the air smelled so good!" Yang Ru stood up, spread her arms, and happily spun around several times.

The gloom of nearly a year of imprisonment vanished in an instant. Having endured hardship, one understands the preciousness of freedom. If Yang Ru had to choose between freedom and money, she would choose freedom without hesitation. What meaning does money have without freedom?

"Who are they? Did they come out with us?" Yang Ru asked, pointing to a few people in the distance.

"I don't know, they all came out with us. The guy lying face down is McKee. He was seriously injured when we came out, probably from the explosion of the Magic Mirror. Hehe, I gave him a kick, so McKee probably won't see the sun tomorrow," Wukong said.

The five people lying down slowly woke up. They sat up, stretched their limbs, rubbed their eyes, and looked incredulous.

"Hey, we see the sun again! Sun, I love you!" one of them said poetically.

"Great! We're back in heaven! God, merciful God, I love you!"

They were overjoyed, embracing each other, unwilling to let go for a long time.

After a long while, they finally broke their embrace and walked up to Wukong and Situ Yangguang, asking in bewilderment, "You're all yellow-skinned? What are you doing here?"

Wukong saw the contempt in their eyes and said bluntly, "Heh heh, what are we doing here? Without us yellow-skinned people, you'd probably be living in darkness your whole lives!"

"You mean, you rescued us?" They all looked at Wukong with suspicion.

"Don't believe me? Look at that guy lying face down, and you'll understand! That man is your old friend. He invited you into that wonderful place; he never intended to ask you to leave." Wukong said to them with a cold smile.

The five men walked to the face-down man with some doubt, staring at him for a long time. One of them pondered, "The figure looks familiar...where have I seen him before?" Beside this man were two pieces of silver-glowing dust, as if something had been shattered.

"Turning him over and looking at him will give you the answer soon enough," another suggested, reaching out to turn him over.

"Ah! It's McKee! That beast! Murderer! War maniac!" someone exclaimed.

"Yes, it's McKee! He's the one who locked us in that sunless hell!"

The five people stood there, stunned, as if they hadn't yet reacted to the miracle before them.

"Is it really McKee? He doesn't seem to be breathing? Ah, McKee is dead! God, great God! Almighty God!" They were all giving their thanks devoutly. Wukong watched from the side, amused, thinking, "It was Situ Yangguang and I who rescued you, not some god. Why didn't you even say thank you?"

A tall, middle-aged man walked over, extended his right hand, and warmly shook Wukong's hand, saying, "I believe you rescued us! It's an honor to meet you. I am Marshal Gore, formerly the Commander-in-Chief of the US Army, Navy, and Air Force—I mean, before McKee seized power!" Marshal Gore introduced the other four men to Wukong one by one. They were all powerful figures in the US, each a formidable character who could turn the tide with a flick of their wrist.

“Hello, I am Sun Wukong! I didn’t come here specifically to save you, I came to save this beautiful girl, Miss Yang Ru!” Wukong said calmly, taking Yang Ru’s hand and speaking affectionately.

“Oh, then we are all fortunate to have Miss Yang Ru’s help? Miss Yang Ru, you are our lucky star, we are all very grateful!” The group thanked Yang Ru and asked curiously, “But we are very curious, how did Miss Yang Ru end up being imprisoned by McKee?”

Yang Ru briefly recounted her experience, and the five men were all impressed by Yang Ru’s noble character and courage in the face of power. They never expected that a seemingly weak woman would have such courage; she was truly a heroine. Marshal Gore said admiringly, “Miss Yang Ru, you, as a reporter, truly put us men to shame!”

Yang Ru smiled faintly. "You five are all powerful figures, how did you become McKee's prisoners?"

Yang Ru asked in an incredulous tone. Her question struck at Marshal Gore's sore spot. He gritted his teeth and said fiercely, "Alas, I was betrayed by that despicable McKee! Not only did I lose my command, but I also plunged the country into the quagmire of war, causing immense suffering to the people. It's all McKee's fault! Those four couldn't stand McKee's perverse actions and voiced their opposition, and they too were thrown into prison by him! McKee truly deserved to die!" "With McKee dead

, you are free again. From today onward, the people of America can once again escape the shadow of war, and the people of the world can be spared the tragedy of losing their homes. Wukong, your rescue this time is truly meritorious!" Yang Ru said, holding Wukong's hand with emotion.

"Actually, the greatest credit should go to Situ Yangguang; he risked his life to come!" Wukong said to Yang Ru, pointing to Situ Yangguang. Situ Yangguang was a little embarrassed, and said with a simple smile, "Not at all, without your help, Wukong, I'm afraid I would have died in there long ago!"

"Hehe, do you think if I wrote this adventure into a reportage, it would cause a sensation?" Yang Ru, who had just escaped from the cage, seemed to have discovered a gold mine, her eyes shining brightly, and her expression was very excited.

Wukong almost fell to the ground. This little girl really forgot the pain as soon as the wound healed. The pain hadn't fully healed yet, and she still couldn't forget her profession as a reporter! Wukong said with a wry smile, "Xiao Ru, it seems you have developed an occupational disease. You can't stop talking about your profession. You should go see a doctor when you get home."

Yang Ru laughed and punched Wukong's arm with her small fist, saying, "Wukong, you're so unreasonable. When we were inside, you said I was a semi-lunatic, and now you say I have an occupational disease and need to see a doctor. Do I look sick?"

Chapter 370 Friend or Enemy

Situ Yangguang's face was a little pale, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. His expression showed his exhaustion. Yang Ru asked with concern, "Situ Yangguang, you don't look well. Are you feeling unwell?"

"It's nothing," Situ Yangguang replied nonchalantly, wiping the sweat from his brow. "I just overexerted myself. I'm sure I'll be fine after a day or two of rest." Wukong smiled and said, "Don't push yourself too hard. I can sense you can't hold on much longer. It wouldn't be good if you fainted halfway. Sit down, I'll help you recover." He then pressed Situ Yangguang's shoulder, helping him sit on the grass. Marshal Gore and the other four watched with interest.

Situ Yangguang sat down as instructed. Wukong placed his right hand on Situ Yangguang's head, secretly channeling his inner energy from his head throughout his body. Situ Yangguang felt a warm current flow from Wukong's palm, reaching his entire body. Instantly, he felt warm all over, the fatigue vanished, and he felt recharged, exceptionally energetic, even more so than usual.

"Alright, stand up and see what's different?" Wukong said with a smile to Situ Yangguang.

Situ Yangguang stood up, stretched his arms, and felt his bones creaking and popping as if they were growing. An immense power filled every pore of his body. Situ Yangguang took a deep, satisfying breath and exclaimed happily, "Ah, why do I feel like I'm floating on air? Wukong, I feel like I can fly!" With that, he leaped into the air. This leap was merely an expression of extreme joy; unexpectedly, his body suddenly became as light as a swallow, and he jumped five or six zhang (approximately 10-15 meters).

"Oh dear, Wukong, what's going on? Catch me quickly, or I'll fall to my death!" While still in mid-air, Situ Yangguang anxiously called out to Wukong.

"Don't be afraid, try landing yourself." Wukong didn't go over to catch Situ Yangguang, but simply watched him fall from mid-air with a relaxed expression. Situ Yangguang was initially a little flustered, but quickly, he felt his descent become light and effortless, like a goose feather drifting down from the sky. A moment later, his feet landed firmly on the ground.

"Thank goodness, I'm still alive! Hahaha, I'm so happy, I can actually fly!" Situ Yangguang danced with excitement. Marshal

Gore stared wide-eyed in astonishment, muttering, "Amazing! He can fly so high! Easterners are truly mysterious; they can do all sorts of incredibly difficult moves. Sir, are you Bruce Lee's student? Did Bruce Lee teach you your kung fu?" Bruce Lee was the most familiar Eastern martial arts superstar to the American public, so Marshal Gore immediately connected Situ Yangguang with him.

Wukong found it hilarious. Heh heh, Situ Yangguang had just intimidated this so-called Commander-in-Chief! If he were to give them a spectacular performance of his somersault cloud, their eyes would surely pop out of their sockets and never be found again.

"Bruce Lee? Who's Bruce Lee?" Situ Yangguang was also unfamiliar with the name. Of course, Situ Yangguang was reincarnated from the Tang Dynasty, so it wasn't surprising that he didn't know Bruce Lee. It would be strange if he said he did.

"Bruce Lee is a Chinese martial arts superstar, an internationally renowned legend. Especially in the US, his status is extremely high," Yang Ru whispered in Situ Yangguang's ear.

"Sorry, I don't know Bruce Lee," Situ Yangguang said.

Marshal Gore scrutinized Situ Yangguang with a cautious gaze, then said, "You have no relation to Bruce Lee, so how could you jump five or six zhang high? How did you learn your martial arts?" Situ Yangguang smiled wryly and said, "To be honest, I don't actually know martial arts. I don't know what happened just now. Wukong, do you want to tell me what happened?"

Wukong chuckled and said to Situ Yangguang, "Situ Yangguang, this is the reward you deserve, or you could say it's a blessing in disguise. You were willing to risk your life to help, so the Jade Emperor was probably moved and granted you some superpowers. If you have time, you might as well practice more. Perhaps, after a while, you'll be able to jump even higher. I wonder if you'll become a birdman?" "

Become a flying person? Like you carrying me from China to here? That's great! I must practice diligently and hope to fly even higher. Haha, the feeling of flying will definitely be very interesting and exciting!" Situ Yangguang seemed to have become a different person, transforming from a mature and steady young man into a lively youth.

"Yes, you can definitely fly higher and farther. As long as you're willing to learn, I can give you some pointers," Wukong encouraged him.

"Thank you, Wukong, I will definitely learn diligently! I must try the wonderful feeling of flying in the air. Flying and flying, flying and flying, I can fly wherever I want, without any restrictions. Wherever the people need help, I will fly there..." Situ Yangguang was filled with longing. Wukong was even more moved. He kept thinking about the common people. If he had the opportunity to become an official, it would be a blessing for the country and the people! However, Situ Yangguang had no connections, no education, and only a heart devoted to the people. To obtain a position in the officialdom was harder than climbing to heaven.

Marshal Gore walked over, staring at Wukong with the look of someone looking at an alien, and asked, "You mean you can teach him? Do you think you can jump even higher than him?" Wukong laughed and said, "You don't believe me?"

Marshal Gore shook his head and said, "I think the height an ordinary person can jump to is already the limit. If they could jump any higher, it would be beyond my imagination."

"Heh, so you, a dignified marshal, are just a frog in a well, never seen much of the world. No wonder you Americans are always so arrogant, thinking you're the best in the world, that no one can rival you. It's because your thinking is generally like this that McKee can manipulate the army and ignite wars everywhere. Know that there are always people stronger than you, and if you continue down this path, you'll reap the bitter fruits of your own actions." Wukong said bluntly, "Want to see for yourself? That's easy! Open your eyes and watch!" With that, he leaped upwards, and those on the ground only saw a flash of light before Wukong vanished without a trace.

"Wow, amazing!"

"He's practically a god!"

"My God, am I seeing things?" Marshal Gore rubbed his eyes in confusion, only believing that Wukong was no longer in front of him when he finally accepted that Wukong had truly flown into the sky. Where he went, he didn't know; he probably disappeared into the universe.

A long time passed, and a golden light appeared. Wukong stood calmly before everyone again, his expression unchanged.

"You...you...sir, are you Apollo, the god, descended to earth?" Marshal Gore looked at Wukong with reverence, his words slurred.

"Apollo? I don't think I understand! I just want to tell you, there's always someone stronger. Don't get lost in your invasions; you'll be the ones who suffer in the end," Wukong said seriously.

“Understood, understood, thank you for your words. I’ve truly broadened my horizons today. It seems we know far too little about you Easterners, and I will improve in the future. As for your mention of invasions everywhere, that’s just what McKee has done since taking power. I have always been strongly opposed to indiscriminately using force against neighboring countries. As long as I regain control of the military, the flames of war ignited by McKee will soon be extinguished. Please believe me,” Marshal Gore said confidently.

“I hope what you say is true,” Wukong said sincerely. “War is a lose-lose situation; no one can truly benefit from it. Although someone might gain temporary advantages, the fire of revenge will never be extinguished; this fire can destroy everything.”

“Yes, my view is basically the same as yours, sir. All the evil was caused by McKee. But thankfully, McKee is dead.” Marshal Gore glanced thoughtfully at McKee lying on the ground like a dead dog not far away. “How gratifying it would be if the whole nation knew this good news!”

“Although McKee is dead, his influence remains. His cronies may continue to manipulate the military. Are you confident that you can regain control of the army and command the three services?” Wukong asked him.

"I'm very confident about this. Many of the powerful figures in the military are my trusted confidants, people I personally promoted. Even though they've been under McKee's control for the past six months, I believe they've been very unwilling. Now that McKee is dead and I've returned to power at the right time, I can regain control with just one order. McKee hasn't been in power for long, and his cronies shouldn't be a threat yet. I can quickly eliminate them from the army," Marshal Gore said confidently.

"Yes, I can testify. Not only are many in the army dissatisfied with McKee's atrocities of starting wars everywhere, but many in the council also disapprove of him. Several of us were imprisoned because of our differing political views with McKee," one of them said.

"Hmm, it seems McKee isn't very popular. Marshal Gore, your return to power should be a natural progression. To help you smoothly regain your position and to spare the people from the suffering of war, I'm willing to lend you a hand," Wukong readily agreed.

"Really? That's wonderful! With your help, I'm even more powerful, invincible! Thank you, thank you again!" Marshal Gore came over and tightly grasped Wukong's hands, shaking them vigorously twice.

"Listen, your friends or enemies are coming." Wukong listened for a moment, a mysterious smile appearing on his face.

Chapter 171 Hesitant to Throw a Stone at a Rat

Reminded by Wukong, Marshal Gore listened intently and faintly heard the distant, noisy sound of cars, a powerful and imposing sound like a massive army charging towards them. Marshal Gore exclaimed happily, "It looks like a large force is arriving! Could it be my trusted men who have learned of my freedom and come to congratulate me?"

"But what if they're remnants of McKee's forces?" one of the men asked.

"There are two possibilities," Wukong explained. "One is that they're your friends, and the other is that they're your enemies. If it's the first, then congratulations. If it's the second, then you're in serious trouble. You might have just regained your freedom only to be plunged back into hell! Judging from the sound, it's not just a couple hundred people, it's probably several thousand. If they want to kill you, now is the perfect opportunity, because you're all alone."

Marshal Gore thought about it and realized he was right. If it really was McKee's remnants, escaping unscathed would be harder than climbing to heaven. He had barely escaped their clutches; would he be captured again immediately?

"What should we do? Mr. Sun, can you show me a bright path? If it really is McKee's remnants, I might not survive today," Marshal Gore said anxiously.

"Hehe, I just told you I would lend you a hand, and I don't want to go back on my word. However, I have one condition," Wukong paused deliberately. Gore hurriedly said, "What condition? As long as I can do it, I will definitely do it." "

It's very simple. My requirement is that if you regain military power, I hope you will not arbitrarily use force against other countries. Can you do that?" Wukong asked.

"I can do it, I definitely can!" Gore said sincerely, "I am not a warmonger. Maintaining world peace is my ultimate goal..."

"I hope you can keep your promise, but if you break your promise later, you will be punished," Wukong said seriously.

The sound of cars grew louder and louder. Judging from the sound, they were not far away, and their target was the open space where Wukong and the others were.

"You must remain calm. Do not make a move unless there is a special reason," Wukong instructed Gore and the others.

"Alright, we won't act rashly," Marshal Gore said.

In the blink of an eye, a fleet of vehicles full of soldiers stopped about 300 meters away from Wukong and his group. Wukong roughly counted about thirty military vehicles. The soldiers jumped out, submachine guns and sniper rifles at the ready, and surrounded Wukong and Gore's group.

"How about it? It seems like they really aren't your friends! Look at their attitude, they practically want to arrest you and lock you in a dark cell," Wukong said.

"This… it seems none of my trusted men are in their ranks. Alas, this time it looks like things are going to get very bad!" Marshal Gore's mood was somewhat low; the excitement from before had completely faded, replaced by a trace of fear. After all, his side was outnumbered and outgunned, while the enemy had an absolute advantage in strength. And looking closely at the enemy's ranks, he couldn't see any familiar faces.

"Heh, I have to admit, their momentum is quite strong. If they're all your enemies, it seems you're really doomed today!" Wukong deliberately tried to scare him, wanting to see what Marshal Gore was capable of.

"Soldiers, please don't fire! I am Marshal Gore, Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Who is your superior? Please have him come out and meet me." Marshal Gore shouted loudly to the soldiers who were on high alert more than 300 meters away. Hearing the words "Marshal Gore," a commotion broke out among the soldiers. Some soldiers exclaimed in surprise, "Marshal Gore? How could he be here? Wasn't he missing for more than half a year?"

"Could he be an imposter?"

"Don't doubt it, I really am Marshal Gore! Please have your superior come out and identify me!" Marshal Gore shouted again.

At this moment, a man who looked like an officer stepped out from the opposing ranks. He laughed loudly more than ten times, then sneered at Gore, "Heh heh, Marshal Gore, do you still remember me?"

Seeing this man, Gore's heart sank to the bottom. He recognized him as General Merck, a trusted confidant of McKee, utterly loyal to McKee. Meeting this great devil today was truly bad luck!

"Judging from your expression, you should still remember me, right? I just received intelligence that Sun Wukong had appeared here, so I immediately led a large force here. Unexpectedly, there's been another pleasant surprise, allowing me to see the long-lost Marshal Gore again. Haha, my luck is pretty good today," General Merck said with a forced smile.

"What do you want? Since you know I'm Marshal Gore, why don't you come forward and pay your respects? You must know, I am the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Navy, and Air Force!" Marshal Gore said, regaining his composure.

Before he could finish speaking, General Merck burst into laughter: "Hahaha, hahaha, you're the Commander-in-Chief? That was a long time ago, wasn't it? Sun Wukong is a wanted man in our army, and you were actually with him. That alone violates military law. I'm taking you back to headquarters so Field Marshal McKee can interrogate you personally!"

Gore then realized that Merck didn't know McKee was dead, and that his purpose in bringing troops here was likely Sun Wukong. He looked at Wukong with a complicated expression and said softly, "Mr. Sun, so their purpose in coming here is for you. Have you made a grudge against the military?"

Wukong smiled lightly and said, "It's not really a grudge. They just destroyed over twenty military vehicles, ten armored vehicles, and five fighter jets. I was forced to act in self-defense."

Field Marshal Gore gasped, his jaw nearly dropping to the floor in astonishment. He thought, "My God, who is this person? So powerful! One person can defeat an entire army?" No wonder they sent a large force to surround and kill him.

"Aren't you a little surprised? Since their target is me, why don't you just hand me over to them? Once you hand me over, you can get away." Wukong deliberately tested him. He had already secretly made up his mind that if Gore betrayed him, it meant that Gore was a person of extremely poor character and not worth helping. He should just let him fend for himself. Unexpectedly,

Gore said decisively without hesitation, "No, I can't hand you over. You are my savior. I have to find a way to save your life. After all, I was once the commander-in-chief of the army, navy, and air force. The majority of officers and soldiers in the army still obey my command. I can try to persuade those soldiers to turn their guns on Merck and capture him."

Gore never imagined that his idea would not only save his life but also the entire army.

"Soldiers," Marshal Gore declared, "McKee is a schemer. He usurped my command through treachery. I am your true commander! Now that MacKee is dead, his corpse lies on the ground! If you disobey Merck's orders and hand him over to the military, I, as Commander-in-Chief, assure you of a bright future." Marshal Gore displayed his eloquent and persuasive skills.

Sure enough, Gore's words caused a stir among the soldiers.

"Marshal MacKee is dead? Is it true?"

"I think it is. The build is similar to Marshal MacKee's. But it's too far away to see clearly."

"McKee is dead! What do we do? Marshal Gore is the Commander-in-Chief! Should we obey his orders or General Merck's?"

...

The murmurs rose and fell, never ceasing. General Merck's face turned a deep shade of purplish-red with rage. If he hadn't known Wukong was not to be trifled with, he would have already rushed forward and shot Gore dead. He raised his pistol and fired three shots into the air, shouting hoarsely, "Shut up! Don't listen to Gore's lies! He's just a government outcast, worthless! His words are even more unbelievable, saying that Marshal McKee is dead? Marshal McKee is drinking coffee in the command building! Everyone, point your guns at Gore and his men. I'll count to three, and everyone fire! Anyone who disobeys will be killed without mercy!"

His three shots into the air had a deterrent effect; the soldiers stopped murmuring and raised their guns, pointing them at Marshal McKee and his men.

"One..." General Merck stopped abruptly on the count of one. A flash of white light, and Merck's body was lifted into the air, grabbed by the collar, and brought to McKee's corpse. Marshal Gore looked closely and realized that the white light he had just seen was Wukong. In less than a second, Wukong had captured Merck and thrown him next to McGee's body.

"If you don't want to see the sun tomorrow, then order the soldiers to open fire!" Wukong said to Merck with a smile.

Merck never expected to become Wukong's hostage like this. He was terrified and frantically waved his arms, shouting to the soldiers in the distance, "Don't shoot! I'm here!" The soldiers didn't really want to fire either. Marshal Gore had a high reputation in the army, and the soldiers worshipped him like a god. They had only raised their guns out of fear of Merck's power. Now, hearing Merck's shouts, they all lowered their guns.

"Open your eyes and look carefully. Isn't that McGee's body lying on the ground?" Wukong pointed to McGee's body for Merck to see.

Chapter 372 A Righteous Person Receives Much Help

General Merck looked at the corpse on the ground. The狰狞 (zhengning, meaning ferocious or hideous) face was indeed McGee's. Merck knew McGee very well, so with just one glance, he was certain it was him. McGee was dead, his greatest backer was dead, and now he was being controlled by Sun Wukong. His future was extremely bleak. Merck's face was as white as a sheet, his mind blank. He stood there blankly, muttering to himself, "This...this...how is this possible? McGee...he's really dead?"

"You still don't believe it? Try kicking him a few times and see if McGee curses at you?" Wukong teased from the side. Merck obediently walked over, bent down, and gently kicked McGee's foot, muttering, "Marshal, wake up." But McGee's body didn't move.

"Not enough force, try harder!" Wukong reminded him.

Merck steeled himself and kicked McGee hard in the foot. A faint cracking sound could be heard, but McGee remained unresponsive. Merck was now completely convinced McGee was dead. He clutched his hair, squatted on the ground, bewildered and lost like a stray dog.

"So? Do you want to pledge allegiance to Marshal Gore, or go to hell with McGee?" Wukong asked him. Merck didn't want to surrender so easily. He lowered his head and pondered for a moment, then looked up at Wukong and said, "I have thousands of soldiers under my command. If you capture me, aren't you afraid of their revenge?"

"But before they retaliate, you'll be a corpse, exactly like McGee now. Do you think it's worth it? Besides, I believe you've heard about me before you came. The last group of hundreds came to capture me, and none of them returned alive. Do you think your soldiers can do anything to me?" Wukong asked with a smile.

"I...I surrender! I swear to be loyal to Marshal Gore from this day forward!" Merck pondered for a moment. A wise man doesn't fight a losing battle; preserving his life was paramount. So he stood up and said ingratiatingly. "

Hmph, quick-witted indeed, making a decision in less than a minute." If McKee knew of such a trusted confidant, what would he think? Wukong smiled disdainfully and said, "You've made up your mind so quickly?" "

I have. I can't just hang myself on one tree," Merck answered honestly. Wukong beckoned Marshal Gore over, pointed at Merck, and said, "Mr. Gore, this gentleman has agreed to switch sides. From now on, he's your subordinate. He says he'll be loyal to you!?"

"Really? That's wonderful! With General Merck's support, I've taken another big step towards the commander's position! General Merck, welcome to your defection!" Gore extended his large hand and shook hands with Merck. Merck forced a smile that looked more like a grimace and said, "I will definitely help Marshal Gore regain his position as Commander-in-Chief!"

"Mr. Sun, I am also very grateful to you. You not only saved my life but also helped me regain my command. I can never repay this kindness in my lifetime!" Marshal Gore said emotionally.

"No need to repay me. Just remember your promise; that is the best repayment!" Wukong smiled and said.

Marshal Gore nodded vigorously, saying repeatedly, "I will definitely remember, I will definitely remember!"

"General Merck, what about the soldiers over there?" Marshal Gore asked, pointing to the soldiers watching the situation intently from a distance. Merck said, "Those soldiers are all my subordinates. With just one order, Marshal Gore, all these soldiers will submit to your command!" Merck cupped his hands into a megaphone shape, put them to his mouth, and shouted loudly to the soldiers, "Soldiers, I have submitted to Marshal Gore! Come and salute Marshal Gore!"

A deafening cheer erupted from the soldiers.

"Great! Marshal Gore is in command of the three armies again! We no longer have to worry about being sent to the battlefield at any time!"

"Long live Marshal Gore!"

The soldiers surged forward like a tide, stood before Marshal Gore, and saluted. Marshal Gore's eyes welled with tears of emotion. He straightened up and returned the salute.

"My children, you've all worked hard these past six months following McKee in battle!" Marshal Gore said, his voice choked with emotion. Recalling the past six months of war, and how many soldiers were still far from home, many soldiers' eyes reddened, and some, more emotional, wiped tears from the corners of their eyes with their sleeves.

"Who caused our compatriots to sacrifice themselves in the flames of war? Who has earned the deepest hatred of the world's people? It was him, the warmonger McKee! But I can tell you some incredibly good news: McKee is dead, and his body lies right at your feet!" Marshal Gore announced joyfully.

Only then did the soldiers notice the body at their feet. Without a doubt, it was McKee's body! The soldiers erupted in another deafening cheer. One soldier, however, lowered his head, his expression somber.

"Are you saddened by McKee's death?" Gore asked, walking over and embracing the soldier.

"Sad for McKee's death? No! I'm saddened by my brother. He was mistakenly bombed by his own plane on the Inako battlefield a month ago and lost his life!" the soldier said, his face filled with grief.

Gore silently watched him, listening to him continue.

"My brother was only twenty-five, such a lovely young man. He had been married for less than three months before being drafted to the battlefield. I never imagined he would never return. It was that hateful war that took my brother's life. I hate war, I hate McKee. If it weren't for his ambition to rule the world, my brother wouldn't have died innocently in a foreign land. I want to slap McKee across the face!" the soldier said fiercely.

The other soldiers remained silent. Everyone silently mourned the loved ones and friends they had lost in the war over the past six months. Their bitterness transformed into rage towards McKee; they all wanted nothing more than to tear McKee's body to pieces.

"Child, oh, poor child, this tragedy will never happen again, I promise you," Marshal Gore comforted the soldier, his arm tightly around his shoulder.

Wukong whispered to Gore beside him, "It seems you're quite popular with the soldiers. Now I can rest easy. We're leaving. Do whatever you want with McKee's body."

"You're just leaving like that? I was hoping to invite the three of you to my home! You've eliminated McKee, you're a great hero in our country, I want to reward you handsomely!" Marshal Gore said happily.

"No need for rewards, it's good enough that I'm no longer a wanted criminal! I'm still an illegal immigrant." Wukong said self-deprecatingly. Marshal Gore laughed and said, "Don't worry, I'll immediately apply to the President to award you the title of honorary citizen. In the future, when you come to our country, you will be treated like a VIP."

Wukong waved his hands repeatedly and said, "Don't bother, I'm used to traveling alone, I can go wherever I want, I don't need any honorary citizen title." With that, despite Gore's earnest urging, he left with Situ Yangguang and Yang Ru. Behind them were the admiring gazes of the soldiers.

After walking for a while, until they were out of the soldiers' sight, Yang Ru couldn't help but ask, "Wukong, are you really leaving like this? I observed carefully just now. General Merck is only pretending to be compliant on the surface, but he might be plotting something in his heart. If we leave, Merck will get rid of a major threat. Will he then turn on Marshal Gore? If Gore is in trouble, and Merck takes control of the US army, wouldn't that be exactly the same as when McKee ruled?"

"Yes, I don't think that Merck is a good person. He won't willingly submit to Gore," Situ Yangguang agreed with Yang Ru's opinion.

Wukong chuckled softly and said to Yang Ru and Situ Yangguang, "Hehe, you've both figured it out. Do you think you can hide anything from my fiery eyes? I saw through Merck's tricks long ago. He's only playing along because he's intimidated by my power. However, I'm leaving like this for two reasons. One is to let Merck reveal his true colors and let Gore see what kind of person he is. The other is to see if the soldiers genuinely support Gore. If the soldiers oppose McKee's aggressive policies, even if Merck wants to seize power, he won't stand alone."

Yang Ru then understood that Wukong was playing hard to get and said with a smile, "Wukong, you've thought this through quite thoroughly."

"Of course. If I were to change careers, I'd definitely be a successful strategist," Wukong said smugly. "You two wait here for a while, don't go too far. I'm going to see if the show has started yet, I'll be back to meet you soon." With that, Wukong vanished. He had transformed into a little bee and flown back to Gore and the others.

Upon arriving at the scene, Wukong found it exactly as he had expected. Merck was bound hand and foot by soldiers, shouting angrily, "You've gone too far! I am General Merck! How dare you tie me up? I, as your general, order you to untie me immediately and arrest Gore! Now!"

The soldiers looked at him mockingly. The soldier who had looked so dejected earlier shouted, "We've already been terribly wronged by McKee, and we don't want to be wronged again! I'm telling you, your plot will not succeed, never! Because we don't want to wage war everywhere anymore!"

"Yes, we want a peaceful life! We don't want to be world hegemons!" the other soldiers echoed.

Marshal Gore looked at the scene with relief and said excitedly, "Merk, your end has come, because you are unpopular! You'll be court-martialed when you get back!" Merck looked at the soldiers glaring at him and knew there was no way to change the situation, so he could only lower his head in dejection.

Chapter 373 The closer one gets to home, the more timid one

becomes. Wukong clearly saw General Merck being bound hand and foot by his soldiers, indicating that the soldiers were thoroughly weary of the endless war and longed for a peaceful life. Knowing that Gore should be able to control the situation, and that the world would enjoy a period of peace again, Wukong felt relieved and didn't want to linger any longer. He flew back to Yang Ru and Situ Yangguang's side and revealed himself.

Yang Ru was anxiously waiting when she was startled to see Wukong appear silently before her. She asked, both surprised and delighted, "You're back so soon? I was worried about whether it would be dangerous for you to go alone. I also realized that Merck wouldn't give up easily; he would definitely try to fight Gore. Was my guess right?"

"Yes, that's exactly right. I thought of the problems you were worried about, so I quietly went back to see if anything had changed. Guess what happened?" Wukong asked.

"Was Gore captured by Merck, and you became a hero again and rescued him?" Yang Ru asked. Wukong shook his head and said, "No. Situ Yangguang, what do you think?"

"I guess it wasn't Gore who was captured by the soldiers, but Merck instead," Situ Yangguang said without hesitation.

"You're absolutely right, Merck really was captured," Wukong said with a smile.

"Why? Those soldiers were all brought by Merck," Yang Ru asked, puzzled.

"So what? Judging from the soldiers' reaction just now, they don't want to go out and fight anymore, so even if Merck wanted to capture Gore, the soldiers wouldn't listen to him. Am I right, Wukong?" Situ Yangguang asked.

"Hehe, you're really something. Situ Yangguang, I think your observation skills are really good; you're a natural-born manager. I have an idea. Aren't you unable to enter the political arena to realize your ambitions because you lack academic qualifications? Why not just immerse yourself in the US, what they call 'gilding' yourself? With your intelligence, getting a master's or doctoral degree back would be a piece of cake, right? After returning to China, you'd be a true 'sea turtle' (returned overseas student), and then you'd have the opportunity to realize your ambitions," Wukong said with a grin.

"Okay, okay, that's a good idea. However, I'm unfamiliar with this place, and getting a doctorate isn't as easy as it sounds," Situ Yangguang said dejectedly. During his time in this reincarnation, Situ Yangguang had indeed witnessed a lot of corruption in officialdom and the hardships of ordinary people's lives. Situ Yangguang wanted to change this situation with his own strength, but he was just an ordinary citizen; how easy was it to make changes? Now that Wukong had pointed out a shortcut to entering the political arena, Situ Yangguang couldn't help but be tempted.

"Hehe, isn't that easy? There's a powerful figure right here; we can just leave everything to him. Didn't we just meet a big shot? Actually, you're his real savior," Wukong reminded him. These words were like a wake-up call. Situ Yangguang slapped his thigh excitedly and said, "That's right! How come I didn't think of that?"

"Come on, you and Xiaoru, go talk to Gore. I think he'd be happy to help me with this." Seeing Situ Yangguang's interest, Wukong also became interested and led Situ Yangguang and Yangru back to Marshal Gore.

Gore was instructing his soldiers to dispose of McKee's body. Seeing Wukong and the others return, he was very pleased and greeted them with a smile, saying to Wukong, "Mr. Sun, have you changed your mind and decided to come to my house as a guest?"

"No, Mr. Gore, I've come back to discuss something with you," Wukong explained his plan to Gore. Gore readily agreed, saying, "This is easy. I can guarantee that Mr. Situ will soon have a doctorate from a prestigious university. Mr. Situ, have you graduated from university?"

"No," Situ Yangguang shook his head.

"Then your academic qualifications..."

"I have no academic qualifications at all," Situ Yangguang said frankly.

"Hehe, it's alright. I will arrange for the most learned professor in the country to tutor you individually. Before long, you will be completely transformed." Gore was brimming with confidence, as if he had known Situ Yangguang for a long time.

"Then I can entrust him to you with peace of mind. I hope you will take good care of him and not disappoint me," Wukong said.

"Of course, of course, I can hardly repay Mr. Sun's great kindness. If I can't even do this small thing, then what would be the point of being the commander-in-chief of the three armies?" Gore affectionately put his right arm around Situ Yangguang's shoulder and said, "I can tell at a glance that Mr. Situ is an exceptionally intelligent young man. I won't misjudge him. Believe me, in a short time, you will see a completely new Mr. Situ."

Wukong looked around and couldn't see Merck anywhere. He feigned confusion and asked, "Hey, where's Merck? Where did he go?"

"Oh, Merck was taken to a car by the soldiers," Gore said, pointing to a car in the distance. His voice was low. "Something unpleasant happened just now. Merck has been temporarily detained by the soldiers and will be taken back to headquarters soon."

"Oh, I see. He's probably too ambitious, wanting to become Commander-in-Chief. Good riddance, less trouble now," Wukong smiled. "We should go too. When we meet again, I hope to see a wise and benevolent Commander-in-Chief."

"You'll have to wait and see..." Gore said seriously. "

Situ Yangguang, we're leaving now. We'll wait for your good news. Let me know when it's done, and I'll come pick you up to take you back to China," Wukong patted Situ Yangguang on the shoulder.

"Yes, I'll see you all again as soon as possible. I'm actually reluctant to leave you." Many images flashed through Situ Yangguang's mind: Tang Sanzang, Zhu Bajie, Liu Yueyue. Their past life had been peaceful and joyful; parting like this was truly unsettling. He hoped this separation wouldn't last long.

Wukong and Yang Ru departed under everyone's reluctant gazes. After walking a long way, they looked back. Situ Yangguang was still standing there, watching Wukong wave goodbye. Wukong waved to him, then turned and continued walking briskly.

"Wukong, are we just walking back like this? When will we be able to return to Aolai Kingdom and see my parents?" Yang Ru asked, worried about her parents.

Wukong walked so far because he didn't want Gore to see him leaving on his somersault cloud, which would be shocking and frighten everyone. Now that they were out of their sight, Wukong no longer had any worries. He smiled and said to Yang Ru, "Xiao Ru, I know how you feel right now. You must be eager to go home. Close your eyes, and you'll see your parents soon."

"You're going to take me flying in the sky again?" Yang Ru asked expectantly. When she was trapped on the island, Wukong had taken her away from it. The wonderful feeling of soaring through the clouds was something Yang Ru would never forget. Hearing Wukong tell her to close her eyes, Yang Ru thought about the possibility of enjoying the pleasure of flying in the air again.

"Do you remember that flight?" Wukong asked.

"Of course I remember, I'll never forget it, and it's the same for you..." As she said the last sentence, Yang Ru lowered her head, her face blushing shyly.

Wukong heard everything clearly, and a surge of tenderness welled up within him. He gently embraced Yang Ru and said, "Xiao Ru, close your eyes now, and I'll take you flying one more time." Yang Ru, held gently by Wukong, obediently closed her eyes. Her nose was filled with Wukong's pleasant masculine scent, and she felt a little intoxicated. She reached out and hugged Wukong's waist, pressing her burning face against his chest, murmuring, "Wukong, I want to hold you like this forever and ever, never to be apart..."

Wukong could also feel the passion emanating from Yang Ru's young body; her body seemed like a hot spring radiating boundless heat, threatening to melt him. Her soft, warm breasts pressed tightly against his chest, and he could clearly feel her heart pounding wildly and powerfully.

In this tender atmosphere, Wukong almost lost himself. He tried to compose himself, gently embraced Yang Ru, and rode onto his somersault cloud. In the blink of an eye, they were back downstairs at Yang Ru's house.

"Xiaoru, open your eyes and look around. Where are we?" Wukong asked, looking down at Yang Ru, who was still nestled in his arms, lost in bliss.

Yang Ru looked up. Before her stood the slightly worn-out teachers' building—wasn't this the place where she had lived since childhood? This was her home, the place she had dreamed of day and night. Here, she had a witty father and a loving mother. How long it had been since she'd returned to her warm home. Tears welled in Yang Ru's eyes, quickly soaking them.

"My home! Wukong, this is my home! I'm home again. It's been almost a year, and I'm finally back in this familiar place!" Yang Ru left Wukong's embrace and walked briskly towards the building. Perhaps it was the rush, or perhaps it was the overwhelming sense of nostalgia, but Yang Ru's legs gave way, and she collapsed to her knees.

Wukong rushed over, helped Yang Ru up, and asked with concern, "Xiao Ru, are you alright?"

Yang Ru shook her head and said, "I'm fine. I was just so excited that I lost my footing and fell. It's okay, I can walk by myself." To prove she was alright, Yang Ru straightened up, went downstairs, and rang her own doorbell. Images of her parents kept flashing through her mind. What would their reaction be if they saw their daughter return home safe and sound? Would they scream in unison? Or would they burst into unrestrained laughter?

However, the doorbell rang for a long time without any response…

Chapter 374 Family Ties

Yang Ru rang the doorbell again for a while, but still no response. Anxiety gradually crept into Yang Ru's expression. She muttered to herself, “Strange, where are Mom and Dad at this hour? Are they out for a walk? Or is the doorbell broken?” Yang Ru cupped her hands into a megaphone shape and shouted loudly towards the upstairs window, “Mom and Dad, I'm home! Open the door!”

Yang Ru's shout didn't open the door, but it did alert a resident on the second floor. The second-floor window opened, and a head with gray hair poked out. The person, wearing reading glasses, scrutinized Yang Ru for a long time. Perhaps due to failing eyesight, they couldn't identify the girl downstairs and hesitantly asked, “Who are you? Are you Yang Ru?”

“It's me! Teacher Li, it's Yang Ru! It seems no one's home. Do you know where my parents went?” Yang Ru asked.

“Sigh…” A heavy sigh came from the second floor, and then the second-floor window closed again.

"Teacher Li, why are you sighing? Wukong, why is Teacher Li sighing? Has something happened to my parents?" Yang Ru asked anxiously.

"It's nothing, it's nothing. Old people like to sigh all the time, maybe nothing's wrong," Wukong comforted her.

At this moment, the downstairs door opened, and Teacher Li stood in front of Yang Ru, looking at her with worried eyes. He asked, "Xiao Ru, where have you been this past year? Why haven't we heard from you at all? Your parents are so worried, especially your father. He can't even go to class and spends all day wandering the streets looking for you. Sigh, kids these days are so hard to handle, always running away from home..."

Yang Ru was both amused and exasperated. It seemed he thought she was a runaway teenager. She quickly explained, "Teacher Li, I didn't run away from home. I'll tell you the details later when I have the chance. But can you tell me now where my parents are?"

"Oh, your father is in the hospital, and your mother is probably taking care of him there," Teacher Li replied.

"In the hospital? Is my dad sick?" Yang Ru asked, her eyes wide.

"He's not sick, he was beaten up and hospitalized. Two days ago, your dad was surrounded and brutally beaten by five or six young men, and he's still lying in the hospital unable to get out of bed. Sigh, Old Yang is such a kind old man, a simple, honest teacher. Why would he have a grudge against these young men for no reason? I really don't understand!" Teacher Li looked at Yang Ru sympathetically.

"Ah? Please tell me, which hospital is my dad in?"

"The inpatient department of the First Hospital. I've visited him twice..."

Yang Ru pulled Wukong along. When they reached the roadside, a taxi happened to drive by, and Yang Ru flagged it down.

"To the First Hospital, and quickly!" Yang Ru said to the driver after getting into the car.

The driver floored the accelerator, but Yang Ru still felt it wasn't fast enough and urged repeatedly, "Driver, can you go faster? Please, I have an emergency!"

“Miss, of course I know you’re in a hurry, I can tell from your expression. But I’ve already cooperated quite a bit, look at this speed, it’s already over 120! If the police see us, I’ll have to go to the traffic police to pay a fine.” The driver explained in a low voice while speeding along.

The car quickly arrived at the First Municipal Hospital. As soon as the car stopped, Yang Ru tossed a hundred-yuan bill to the driver and got out of the car impatiently.

“Hey, here’s your change…” the driver called out from inside the car.

Yang Ru had already pulled Wukong into the hospital gate.

In the nurses’ office, Yang Ru found her father’s ward, a regular ward on the fourth floor.

Taking the elevator to the fourth floor, she gently pushed open the door and the scene before her made Yang Ru’s heart ache, and her eyes filled with tears. She saw her father lying on the bed with his head bandaged, his eyes closed, his right hand outstretched beside the bed, holding Yang Ru’s mother’s hand. Yang Ru's mother sat on a chair beside the hospital bed, holding her father's hand in one hand. Her face was buried in the bed, and she had fallen asleep, exhausted both physically and mentally. Her full head of white hair was spread out on the bed, blending into the snow-white sheets.

Her father's face was also much thinner and more haggard; the change in his appearance over the past year was so drastic that Yang Ru couldn't bear to look at him.

"Mom and Dad, you've suffered so much!" Yang Ru gently walked to her mother's side, pressed her face against her mother's white hair, and tears welled up in her eyes. She felt angry and guilty. Angry that she had been imprisoned for almost a year, causing her parents a year of worry. Guilty that her persistence had implicated her parents. A thousand words were stuck in her heart, and she could only let the tears flow freely...

She began to reflect: was everything she had done really worth it? For the sake of so-called justice, was it necessary to pay the price of family destruction? Was this a tragedy for society or a tragedy for her family? She was somewhat lost.

Wukong silently watched this tragic scene, his mind drifting back to his visit to Yang Ru's home. Back then, Yang's father was witty and humorous, full of life, while Yang's mother was gentle, loving, and vibrant. After Yang Ru's two disappearances, her parents had visibly aged. This deep bond between mother and child made Wukong feel once again the profound love between people.

Yang Ru's thin shoulders trembled slightly, and she couldn't help but sob softly. Yang's mother was startled awake. She felt another head pressed against hers, and with a start, she straightened up, seeing a pretty face streaked with tears.

"Xiao Ru? It's you, Xiao Ru?" Yang's mother's eyes widened in surprise. Thinking she was still dreaming, she pinched her thigh hard. The intense pain told her it wasn't a dream, but real reality—the person before her was her daughter, Yang Ru, whom she missed day and night!

"Mom, it's me, Xiaoru!" Yang Ru hugged her mother tightly, tears streaming down her face like a torrent.

"Ah, my good child! Ah, my poor child..." Yang's mother gently patted Yang Ru's back, tears also streaming down her face.

For a long, long time, Yang's mother wiped away her tears, cupped Yang Ru's face, and carefully examined her. She could never get enough of looking at her beautiful face. After a long time, she breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Xiaoru, you're alright, you've just lost a little weight, and I'm relieved! I've been counting down the days. Today marks 352 days and nights since you left home. Your father and I have been hoping for your return every day!"

Yang's mother leaned down and whispered in Yang's father's ear, "Old man, open your eyes and look, our Xiaoru is back!" Yang's father, pale-faced on the sickbed, struggled to open his eyes and searched for Yang Ru with his gaze.

"Dad, I'm here!" Yang Ru also leaned down, looking at her father with a sorrowful expression.

Mr. Yang's lips trembled, and he finally managed to speak: "Xiaoru, is it really you? Am I dreaming again?"

"Dad, you're not dreaming, it's Xiaoru!" Yang Ru said softly. Mr. Yang's eyes lit up with surprise, and a smile appeared on his lips as he said lovingly, "Xiaoru, it's good that you're back, it's good that you're back! My injury isn't serious, I'll be discharged soon, and our family can live happily again."

"Yes, we can live happily again like before. Dad, Mom, I'm sorry, I always make you worry..." Yang Ru choked up. "

Silly child, you didn't do anything wrong, you don't need to blame yourself. The only ones at fault are society, those lawless and powerful people who turn black into white! Cough cough cough..." Because of his excitement, Mr. Yang couldn't catch his breath and coughed.

"Old man, listen to the doctor, don't get too excited, lie down and catch your breath. Don't forget, you're a patient, you mustn't get angry." Mrs. Yang went over and helped Mr. Yang lie down, scolding him gently.

"Cough, cough, I know, I know. But I just can't help it. The thought of those arrogant bastards makes me so anxious." Mr. Yang gently closed his eyes, trying his best to calm himself.

"Dad, don't get agitated. Take good care of your injury, and let's go home soon," Yang Ru whispered in her father's ear.

Mr. Yang nodded gently.

"Mom, how did Dad get hurt?" Yang Ru pulled her mother aside and asked with concern.

“Sigh, it’s really unlucky. Two days ago, your father was wandering the streets looking for you as usual when five or six young men suddenly appeared out of nowhere, pinned him to the ground, and beat him severely. According to your father’s recollection, he vaguely heard them cursing something like, ‘I’ll kill you, for letting your daughter meddle in other people’s business!’ Then your father fainted on the spot and couldn’t hear what they were cursing anymore. Later, a kind person took your father to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a moderate concussion and multiple external injuries. There’s still no resolution to this matter. Although we reported it to the police, they haven’t given us any information. Your father has never had any conflicts with these young men, so someone must be behind this.” Yang’s mother said to Yang Ru.

“What did the police say when they called the police?” Yang Ru asked.

“The police said it might be a gangster revenge attack, and they beat the wrong person. But your father can’t remember what those five or six young men looked like, so the police said it would be difficult to investigate. Sigh, I think this matter will just be left unresolved in the end.” Yang’s mother sighed.

Upon hearing this, Wukong's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly asked, "What's been happening with that Deputy Director Liu that Xiaoru offended?" Yang's mother thought for a moment and said, "The day Xiaoru's father had his accident, I heard that evidence of Deputy Director Liu's corruption and bribery was exposed online, and he was suspended from his duties pending investigation. Xiaoru's suffering wasn't in vain after all."

Wukong suddenly realized and said, "I understand! That guy surnamed Liu is the culprit!"
