Friends, I recently saw some comments about sex scams, and I'd like to share some related experiences:
First, since it's a scam, it means the other party is bluffing and exploiting your psychological weaknesses. Their threats are only for money, not to truly ruin your life. The main point is to make you feel that the other person is respectable, that your interactions are safe, and that you're the one who benefits. The photos they show you on public platforms won't be too revealing, and might even show their face, but the accompanying text will be very enticing.
2/ As the chat progresses, the other person will proactively bring up topics related to sex, and will do so very seriously. However, they will definitely be the one initiating the conversation, actively trying to hook you.
3/ This is your first step into the abyss! The other person will use various excuses to get you to install software. Some might claim to remotely control sex toys, some might say they're sending you sex videos, and some might claim to be dedicated chat software. If you encounter any of these, remember, do not click to install them. This software is malware. After installation, it will steal your phone's contact information and text message content. This is the final, most dreaded blow, so remember this!
4/ They'll proactively ask you to video chat and demand that both of you show your genitals. This is when they really start their attack. They'll intercept your video, and after the video call, they'll send you your phone's contact list. Then they'll tell you that if you don't pay, they'll send this to everyone. At this point, most people will panic and become terrified, leaving them no choice but to obey.
5/ Initially, they won't ask for too much money, saying that if you pay, the video will be deleted. You'll usually pay, right?! Don't be naive or have any illusions; this is just an appetizer.
6/ Here's the key point: they'll have your contact list and will say that the money you just spent was for the video and the contact list. This is the real bottomless pit, until they drain you dry.

Again, don't be afraid of the contact list issue. Since it's a scam, they want money, not to ruin you. So those are just persuasive tactics. In most cases, they won't send your video to everyone's contact list; it's all about intimidation and getting your money. However, there are bound to be some unscrupulous individuals. After all, these are usually overseas groups, and the harassing calls they make are from overseas. The government has stated that members of fraud groups who fail to swindle money will also be subjected to abuse. Therefore, no one can completely guarantee against sharing contact lists. Regarding money, if you encounter this situation, report it to the police immediately and preserve your information. Although it's shameful, since you've done this, you must bear the consequences. Stay calm and protect your wallet. They won't take your money; they'll only ask you to transfer funds yourself. At this point, it depends on your mental resilience.
That's all I can say. How to identify them is up to your own judgment. Remember, don't be blinded by pink bombs and end up losing both your money and your peace of mind.
