How to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit condoms

This post will first introduce how to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit condoms. I'll start by introducing some popular major brands on the market. The most popular is Durex, followed by American Beilele, Japanese Okamoto, Jissbon, and its subsidiary Sixth Sense, as well as domestic brands like Gaobang and Guangzhou Yitong. I suggest choosing these major brands whenever possible, as brand name represents quality. In China, where counterfeit products are rampant, each brand uses various anti-counterfeiting methods. Regardless of the methods, genuine products always have beautiful packaging and the highest quality, so I'll mainly focus on these two aspects. First: Distinguish by the outer packaging: Genuine condoms have exquisite outer packaging with high-quality paper. The text and patterns are clear and realistic, without blurring, ghosting, or shifting. High-quality counterfeit products now also have very sophisticated packaging, often indistinguishable from the genuine article. If you can't tell the difference by the outer packaging, you'll need to use other methods. Don't worry, I'll explain slowly. You can also look at the edges and corners of the packaging. Counterfeit boxes have rough edges and corners, some even misshapen, while genuine boxes have sharp, distinct edges. This is because genuine boxes are machine-pressed, while counterfeit boxes are hand-folded. Another method is to look at the tear strip (easy-open strip). This isn't crucial; like cigarette boxes, the standard is that it should open smoothly. Counterfeit boxes, due to inferior technology, are often difficult to open, or a large piece of transparent plastic might tear off easily. Of course, some small-factory genuine products may also exhibit this phenomenon, so don't worry too much about this method of identification. The last important method of identification is to observe the production date on the bottom of the box. Products from large manufacturers use laser marking machines to print numbers. The production date printed by this high-end equipment has a slightly textured appearance. Because this equipment is expensive, small counterfeit factories generally cannot afford it and simply use ordinary printing presses. It's obvious that it's printed, not just printed. Some slightly more capable counterfeit manufacturers can create a dotted effect, but the font spacing and font shape are incorrect. This method of identification is very important; consumers can easily spot it with careful observation. Second: Open the packaging and first look at the instruction manual. Genuine instruction manuals have clear font colors and high-quality paper. Counterfeits, in order to save costs, generally have rough printing, some even in black and white, with blurry, ghosting, and overlapping errors. Next, squeeze the aluminum foil packaging of the case. Genuine cases feel soft and smooth because of the good quality adhesive and sufficient, even lubrication. Counterfeits will feel hard and bulging; I believe you understand why, so I won't elaborate. Next, examine the serrations on the aluminum foil between each package. Genuine products have even and symmetrical serrations, making them easy to tear. Counterfeits have rough serrations, feel difficult to tear, and easily tear the foil packaging. Also, check the production date and expiration date on each foil package. This requires advanced technology because printing on aluminum foil is difficult. Counterfeits often have blurry and messy dates that can be easily scratched off with a fingernail. Genuine dates are clear and neat, more difficult to scratch off, but not impossible; they are more scratch-resistant and can eventually be removed. Some genuine products even use steel stamps for the production date, further enhancing anti-counterfeiting measures. Third: Open the aluminum foil packaging and examine the condoms inside. Several methods can be used to distinguish them: 1. Don't unfold them yet; observe the shape. Genuine condoms typically have a naturally unfolded, round or oval glans, while counterfeit ones are often twisted or deformed. 2. Smell them: Genuine condoms use high-quality rubber and lubricant, giving them a pleasant aroma. Counterfeit condoms often have an unpleasant odor. Many experienced condom users know this; avoid condoms with various scents. Some counterfeiters add fragrances to mask the odor of inferior rubber and lubricant, creating fruit or floral scents. Of course, some genuine condoms also come in various scents to cater to certain consumer demands, but that's a different matter. 3. Unfold the condom and feel the lubricant. Genuine condoms have an evenly distributed lubricant, while counterfeit condoms often have lubricant at the bottom and dryness at the top, or vice versa—in short, uneven distribution. This is a result of cost-saving and rushing production. Nowadays, water-soluble lubricants are mostly used, which feel refreshing and moist to the touch. Oil-based lubricants are more viscous and sticky. Products from underground factories use inferior industrial lubricating materials. Because they contain [unclear text - likely referring to a specific type of lubricant], they are less effective at producing lubricating fluids. To test the effectiveness of a genuine condom: unfold the condom, hold the opening, blow air into it to inflate it, and then observe the condom. Genuine condoms have a symmetrical shape, uniform color, and a symmetrical, round reservoir tip. They also have excellent overall elasticity. Counterfeit condoms sometimes have uneven colors, with some areas thick and others transparent, and the condom may be twisted, the reservoir tip may be deformed, and the elasticity may be stiff. 5: Water filling test. Each product has one. 性刂档模绻憧梢曰袢〕ъ艺飧鍪担环磷八允裕?梢源锏焦娑ǖ霓翟蚝细疤缕泛苣汛锏降模蛭褐式喜睿猿性氐焦娑ㄊ档囊话牖蛘呷种障突崞屏训模飧鍪匝橩话阋屑也呕岵捎茫鞲銎放频某性厥莶灰谎胀腿撕苣鸭稹?br Fourth: Distinguish by price: Generally, well-known condom brands have a suggested retail price and don't arbitrarily set prices. You can refer to pharmacies, supermarkets, and brand stores for this price. For example, a certain model of a well-known brand condom might sell for 40 yuan, with a allowed fluctuation range of 38-42 yuan, usually around 2-3 yuan. However, the lowest price will not be lower than 35 yuan. Please note: be wary if the price difference exceeds 5 yuan! Moreover, the greater the brand's reputation, the smaller the allowed price adjustment range. The profit margin of branded goods is basically fixed. If a merchant sells at a price significantly lower than the market average, their profit is very low, or even nonexistent. No one does business at a loss. The only explanation is: unless it's counterfeit (excluding special offers and discounts). Therefore, those condoms from world-renowned brands like Durex and Okamoto that you can buy for a few yuan or a dozen yuan on Taobao—if you're willing to listen to my advice, don't use them even if they're given to you for free. At that price, you can't even get the cost price for genuine products. If you don't care about your own and your partner's health, then I can't help you. That's all for now. I'll organize the information and post it again in a few days. I hope everyone finds it helpful. A healthy and fulfilling sex life is the most important thing. Have fun, everyone!
