The role of sex in love

Lady Chatterley's Lover: The Role of Sex in Love

Regarding his book, *Lady Chatterley's Lover*, Lawrence wrote: "I want men and women to think about sex in a full, honest, and pure way. That's what this book is really about."

This is a novel that was banned for more than 30 years. It is the last full-length novel by the famous British writer D.H. Lawrence. As soon as it was published, it was controversial because of the large number of sex scenes interspersed in it. As a result, it was banned in Britain for more than 30 years and is known as one of the "three most banned books of the 20th century".

The book contains heart-stirring and blood-pumping descriptions of love.
The author's narrative on love is cunning. Like the sexual encounters between lovers, it is all rushed and superficial before the long, suppressed emotions of married life. It makes it clear that Lady Chatterley did have lovers before, and she and her lovers did have satisfying sex, but there was a fundamental difference between them. This difference might suggest that they were not the right lovers, but rather the wrong ones.
Their sex life, like their relationship, was more about receiving than giving. Moreover, in the author's view, the wrong lover often disgusts a woman with his ideas; the lover who blamed Lady Chatterley for not being able to orgasm with him after she was satisfied hurt her deeply.
As lovers, they didn't strive for compatibility between the two of them, nor did they care about the other person's needs. In the end, they only thought that as long as they were happy, the world should be at peace.
These shocking words did not bring Lady Chatterley any emotional comfort. She realized that her wrong lover was not a good person, had bad values, and no longer missed the time they had spent together.

Finally, Lady Chatterley met the forest ranger Mellors. The two broke through constraints and taboos, and together they gave each other the most exhilarating, wonderful, and unforgettable life experience.
The book contains long, explicit descriptions of sex, but after reading it, what you feel is not pornography, but a vibrant life force and a burgeoning, primal human desire.
As the book describes: "That day, it was pouring rain. She stood up in the rain, her breasts outstretched, her arms outstretched, her entire waist and hips facing him, as if giving him a wild salute. The rain poured down their bodies, making them steam with heat."
Pure, passionate, surging, beautiful.
Sex is the deepest and most primal desire in human life, a source of vibrant vitality that cannot be suppressed or stifled. It transcends fame and fortune, transcends social class and status, and is the purest, most natural, and most genuine existence.
There's a famous saying that says there are two ways to deal with desire: one is to constantly indulge in it, and the other is to never indulge in it. If you never indulge in it, you might as well become a monk or nun. If you do indulge in it, you must learn to face it, confront it, and accept it.
Lawrence's greatness lies in his analysis of desire through a woman's body and perspective, telling us that sex is not shameful, and that we should face our bodies and desires.
Throughout history, we have always been reluctant to discuss women's physical desires and needs, even going so far as to secretly buy sanitary napkins, let alone openly talk about them. Women have been expected to be chaste, reserved, and demure; in ancient times, there were even "chastity arches." Women have always been a silent, objectified group, their inner yearnings and desires never able to be mentioned or spoken of.

What makes a good lover? This book offers us a lot of inspiration, at least when it comes to sex.
Lawrence tells us that, first of all, as a person, whether a man or a woman, one must face one's own heart and shed the pretense of humanity. Bringing morality, worldliness, and social status into one's emotions will only pollute them. What one should be clear about most is the body's feedback. In love and sex, the orgasm obtained by the real you is the most real and precious. Other impure emotions will destroy everything.
Secondly, you don't need to force yourself to perform well on the first or second time you have sex. Love takes time. This is about accepting yourself and accepting your partner. As the relationship gradually warms up and you show your truest selves, you will slowly become immersed in it and unable to extricate yourself.
Furthermore, you must genuinely love the other person completely. You must love every part of her body, her naked body, and find her adorable from every angle. The joy of achieving this is beyond words.
Last but not least, love is about giving everything. No matter how difficult or dangerous reality may be, it is insignificant in the face of love and two people embracing each other.

We are surprised to find that we do not see a happy ending in the book. The two are separated at the height of their love. However, we can see the change in Lady Chatterley's lover. He continues to fight for the woman he loves, even when his social status makes things difficult and he is alone. He does not forget his promise to his lover. He is full of vitality and no longer coldly observes society as before. What prompted this great change in him was love. He and she are separated, yet they seem to be together all the time. He still holds the warmth of her body in his hands. Lady Chatterley, on the other hand, is more like a woman who gives up everything for love. After her sexual awakening, she pours her love into her lover, gives up everything for him, and fights against the world.
