Beauty in the Mirror

It took the time it takes for a hundred women to burn an incense stick to collect almost all the thousands of Blood Bodhis. Li Hu also collected a few more. After Huang Rong and the others had absorbed the power contained within the Blood Bodhis, Li Hu sent them all back to the Blissful Realm.
Looking at the six Blood Bodhis remaining in his hand, Li Hu frowned and muttered to himself, "Eating a few more shouldn't be a problem, right?"
Thinking about the Blood Bodhi he had just swallowed, whose power had increased Li Hu's internal strength several times over, he felt that even the surrounding air couldn't move faster than him when he waved his hand. This change was something Li Hu had never expected, nor would he have imagined.
Without hesitation, Li Hu opened his mouth wide and swallowed all six Blood Bodhis at once. Just as he was about to comfortably sit cross-legged and enjoy the impact of the power contained within the Blood Bodhis, suddenly, five streams of power leaked out from the Blood Bodhis he had just swallowed.
"What's going on?"
Li Hu was terrified to find his body uncontrollably lifted into the air.
For a moment, his head spun, oblivious to his surroundings. If anyone were here at that moment, they wouldn't believe what they were seeing. Li Hu's eyes were slightly closed, and his entire body was engulfed in flames, but strangely, the flames didn't burn his robes at all.
The flames burned fiercely, and the red mist, even more intense than before, almost like a cocoon, enveloped Li Hu, making it impossible to see what was inside the flames.
"Master... Master..."
Li Hu heard a child's call in his ear.
He opened his eyes the next moment and abruptly saw the Fire Qilin beside him. He looked around; he was still in the cave filled with Blood Bodhi seeds, but everything around him had changed. The rock walls looked like they had been scorched by a fire, blackened to a deep black.
Li Hu stared at the Fire Qilin, muttering to himself, "Could I have misheard? Who would call me Master?"
"It's me."
Suddenly, another child's voice rang out, almost startling Li Hu. But he saw the Fire Qilin looking at him, and its large mouth was moving. Was it speaking? How could he understand the Fire Qilin's words?
"Was that you speaking?"
Li Hu asked the Fire Qilin, though he couldn't believe it.
The Fire Qilin nodded obediently, its huge face seemingly smiling, its voice like a child's, "It's me, Huo Huo. Master, you scared me so much just now! This Blood Bodhi is an ancient rare fruit. Eating one can make an ordinary person's internal energy reach the level of a ten-year internal energy master, and three can make you dominate the world. You actually ate seven Blood Bodhis!"
Hearing this, Li Hu stood up. He didn't feel any changes in his body after eating seven Blood Bodhis, and his internal energy didn't seem to be improving either. Could it be because he ate too many?
Looking at the Fire Qilin, Li Hu continued, "How did you know I ate seven Blood Bodhis?"
The Fire Qilin hadn't come in while he was eating Blood Bodhis. Even if it was hiding in the passage, how could Li Hu not have noticed?
The Fire Qilin explained, "These Blood Bodhis were planted by the ancient god, the Blood Demon Ancestor. Although they are the same fruit, each one contains different powers. Master currently possesses six strange powers, and it seems that one has already been digested by you."
So that's it. The power of those six Blood Bodhis hadn't been completely absorbed yet; no wonder Li Hu couldn't sense any changes in himself.
The Fire Qilin continued, "Master, follow me. Since you are my master, I should let you know all the secrets of this cave, including everything left behind by the Blood Demon Ancestor."
Following the Fire Qilin forward, they entered another passage, still descending, beneath the Great Buddha. After walking for a long time, Li Hu estimated that he and the Fire Qilin were now very, very deep underground.
Seeing the Fire Qilin stop, Li Hu saw a stone door as tall as a person before him. Strange totem patterns were carved on the door, one on each side. Although the door looked ordinary, Li Hu sensed that what lay behind it was far from simple.
"Master, this is where all the secrets are hidden. My previous master, the Blood Demon Ancestor, said that only a destined person can open this door, and the dragon vein is also inside,"
the Fire Qilin spoke again.
Although he understood the Fire Qilin's words rather abruptly, Li Hu believed it must be the result of consuming several Blood Bodhi seeds. He could actually communicate with the Fire Qilin, so there was no need to find Xianxian to communicate with it anymore.
Looking at the stone door, Li Hu stepped forward and first pushed it with both hands. The stone door didn't budge. He smiled self-deprecatingly. Since there was a stone door here, how could it be opened with just a push? Besides, the destined person the Fire Qilin spoke of might not be him.
Thinking this through, Li Hu turned to the Fire Qilin and said, "Fire, step back. I'm going to try opening it with my inner force."
The Fire Qilin didn't retreat; instead, it cried out, "Heavens! Master, you mustn't damage this door! There's a restriction on this stone door. If you force your way in, the restriction will rebound, and the consequences will be unimaginable!"
"A restriction?"
Li Hu frowned.
Restrictions, also called formations, were likely left behind by Fire Qilin's previous master, the Blood Demon Ancestor. If it weren't for Fire Qilin's reminder, Li Hu would have really wanted to use his inner force to break the door. But hearing its words, Li Hu immediately withdrew his released inner force. No matter how powerful the restriction was, he couldn't act recklessly.
After thinking it over, the Fire Qilin had no better solution. Li Hu smiled; perhaps he wasn't the destined one.
Subconsciously, Li Hu reached out and touched the intricate patterns and totems, inwardly marveling at the exquisite carving technique and developing even greater respect for the Blood Demon Ancestor. The carving seemed to be the work of a woman, incredibly meticulous, and the patterns were exceptionally beautiful.
Just as he traced the patterns and shook his head, preparing to call for the Fire Qilin to leave, suddenly a brilliant golden light shone before his eyes. The previously dark stone door instantly turned gold, and the patterns became terrifyingly vibrant, like real flowers.
"Master, you've opened it!"
The Fire Qilin's massive face remained expressionless, but its voice was filled with excitement.
The stone door first revealed a crack, from which waves of heat emanated. As the crack widened, Li Hu and the Fire Qilin stared in astonishment at the scene inside. The area behind the stone door was almost entirely filled with flames; nothing could be seen. But strangely, not a single flame escaped beyond the stone door.
What was this? While Li Hu was amazed, he was also puzzled. Why was there flames beyond the stone gate? And these flames were even redder than the flames on the Fire Qilin's body. The Fire Qilin had said that the color of the flames represented the rank of beasts like it that possessed fire. The golden fire on the Fire Qilin was only considered a third-rank beast, while the black fire on the Demonic Dragon was a high-rank beast. If these crimson flames were a beast, even the Fire Qilin didn't know how to assess its rank.
"Fire, dare you come in with me?"
Li Hu looked at the raging flames without fear.
The fire qilin quickly lowered its head and took a few steps back, pleading, "Master, I still want to stay by your side and serve you. Please don't drag me into the fire!"
Li Hu glared at it and cursed, "You coward! I've already gone in. If anything happens to me, you can serve ghosts instead! Wait here. If I don't come out within the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, you can go out and scare away the woman in the Buddha's hand."
Not knowing how powerful the flames were, Li Hu steeled his heart, thinking of his past. After his death, he had experienced far too much; he had long since seen through life and death. If he were so easily killed, he wouldn't have been burned to death so pathetically.
"Master..."
the fire qilin called softly, but Li Hu seemed to have no intention of changing his mind, raising his head and stepping into the flames behind the stone door.
The flames raged fiercely. Li Hu practically closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as he stepped into the inferno. To escape unharmed, he unleashed his strongest defensive technique, which had long since broken through its bottleneck and reached the pinnacle of the Golden Bell Shield technique. He was impervious to water and fire, poison, and blades; he was practically a god. However, in this turbulent world, even he wasn't the most powerful god.
There was no scorching heat as he had imagined, nor any of the expected strange phenomena. The flames were barely two feet wide. When he emerged from the flames, Li Hu looked back in astonishment. The flames seemed to be just the second door behind the stone gate.
"That Blood Demon Ancestor must have been afraid of malicious people trying to steal the treasure he left behind,"
Li Hu muttered to himself, looking ahead.
It resembled an ancient study, or perhaps a woman's boudoir. A large sandalwood bed stood in one corner, along with a dressing table. A golden bronze mirror sat neatly on the dressing table, along with a comb and some powder boxes.
Li Hu looked around in confusion. Could this be the secret Huo Huo had mentioned? This was actually a woman's residence, spotless and seemingly inhabited. However, based on Li Hu's experience, it had been abandoned for many, many years.
"What a waste of time,"
Li Hu sighed. Although he found it hard to accept that the most mysterious place in Fengyun Cave, Lingyun Cave, concealed such a secret, anyone who came here would feel a sense of loss.
He walked to the dressing table, sat down on the round chair, looked at the bronze mirror, picked up the exquisite comb, and laughed, "The Blood Demon Ancestor really is a woman. No wonder the carvings on the stone door are so beautiful."
Unconsciously, Li Hu picked up the comb and began to comb his long hair. He also turned to the mirror and began to dress up. This was not something a man should do, but Li Hu only found it fun, so he played around with it with great interest.
Li Hu pursed his lips and pouted at his reflection in the bronze mirror. Just as he put down the comb and was about to get up to search some corners for any other discoveries, the bronze mirror suddenly flashed as he stood up. To be precise, the reflection in the bronze mirror wasn't Li Hu himself.
"Am I seeing things?"
Li Hu looked at the bronze mirror in surprise, but the reflection was still himself.
He was extremely astonished. Just a moment ago, something must have flashed in the bronze mirror, but he hadn't had time to catch the fleeting image because he was standing up.
Sitting down again, Li Hu didn't pick up the comb this time. Instead, he stared intently at the surface of the bronze mirror. It was still his face, but after Li Hu stared intently for a while, his reflection finally disappeared again, replaced by a fair face, and a very beautiful woman's face at that.
Holding his breath, Li Hu met the phoenix eyes of the woman in the mirror. He pursed his lips, and the woman in the mirror pursed her lips too. He winked and made faces, and the woman in the mirror winked and made faces back. After making several such expressions, Li Hu couldn't help but shake his head and let out a sigh.
"Could this be the legendary Mirror of Past Lives? Could this beautiful woman in the mirror be my past life?"
Li Hu muttered to himself.
Just then, a woman's voice rang out in front of him: "Boy, who is your past life?"
Even the usually composed Li Hu, who had experienced life and death, was startled by the woman in the mirror's sudden words and screamed.
"Giggle..."
The beautiful woman in the mirror covered her mouth and laughed incessantly.
Li Hu steadied himself, making sure no one else was in the room, before speaking lightly to the woman in the mirror, "What are you laughing at? If you were me, you'd be startled too."
The woman in the mirror shook her head, saying, "You call my Huo Huo a coward? You're even more timid than her."
Seeing that she meant no harm, Li Hu lowered his guard. Besides, this woman in the mirror seemed unable to come out; otherwise, why would she stay inside the mirror?
As if sensing the meaning in Li Hu's expression, the woman in the mirror explained, "You must be wondering how I ended up in this mirror, and wondering about my identity. Let me tell you, boy, remember this well: I am the most beautiful goddess of the Wilderness, the Blood Demon Ancestor."
"Blood Demon Ancestor? You're the Blood Demon Ancestor Huo Huo mentioned?"
Li Hu exclaimed in surprise.
The beautiful woman in the mirror rolled her eyes at Li Hu, muttering unhappily, "You brat, how dare you blurt out my secrets."
Li Hu was taken aback and asked suspiciously, "Wait, who are you calling a brat?"
The Blood Demon Ancestor said sweetly, "Of course it's Huo Huo. That's right, I've placed a restriction on her body, so she can't transform into human form. Alas, it's a pity I can't leave now, otherwise I would definitely remove the restriction for her, and it wouldn't have been in vain that she's been with me for so many years."
Heavens, is this true? Li Hu could hardly believe his ears. Was the Blood Demon Ancestor lying to him? But then he thought that even a cat fairy could transform from a cat into human form, so the Fire Qilin could do the same. After all, they were spirit beasts that had lived for hundreds or even thousands of years.
Li Hu sat back down in the chair, chuckling awkwardly as he asked, "Great Goddess of the Wilderness, may I ask why you are trapped in this bronze mirror?"
The Blood Demon Ancestor in the mirror stared at the smile on Li Hu's face and scolded, "Don't try to get any secrets out of me that you shouldn't know. If you do, you won't be able to handle the consequences." It
was a blatant threat, but Li Hu was born fearless and had seen it all. If he didn't have this much self-control, wouldn't he have wasted all his time?
Looking at the Blood Demon Ancestor, Li Hu fawned, "Pretty sister, I'm not afraid of any consequences. Besides, Huo Huo said only those with a destined connection can enter here, and I'm your destined one..."
"Pah, boy, how old are you? I've lived for tens of thousands of years. Who has a destined connection with you? That's all a lie. Anyone can enter as long as they can pass through the flames behind the stone gate, but those flames are a Heavenly Fire Forbidden Spell I set. I didn't expect you to enter unscathed; you can be considered destined after all."
If the Blood Demon Ancestor were in front of Li Hu, he would be spitting everywhere.
Li Hu thought to himself, "This old monster who's lived for tens of thousands of years has such a bad temper. Guang Chengzi is the same; their words are all very mysterious. If Li Hu hadn't met an immortal like Guang Chengzi, he would never have believed that this Blood Demon Ancestor was actually a great god of the Wilderness."
The Wilderness is the earliest origin of all worlds; almost all the immortals and powerful figures come from the Wilderness. Li Hu remembered that Hongjun, the founder of Taoism, came from the Wilderness.
"So, Great God, did you send someone here for any instructions? If not, I'll be leaving."
Li Hu felt that the Blood Demon Ancestor was really bored and probably just wanted someone to chat with; all the secrets were just a pretense.
Seeing Li Hu get up to leave, the Blood Demon Ancestor quickly called out, "Boy, don't go!"
"I'm not called 'boy,' I'm called Li Hu,"
Li Hu said, turning back to look at her reflection in the mirror.
The Blood Demon Ancestor nodded and chuckled, "What an awful name, not domineering at all. It's not as nice as Blood Heavenly Lord."
"Blood Heavenly Lord, Blood Heavenly Lord..."
Li Hu murmured twice, then couldn't help but ask, "Who is Blood Heavenly Lord? He must be related to you, Great God."
Mentioning Blood Heavenly Lord, the Blood Demon Ancestor's face suddenly darkened, a glint of tears appearing in her eyes. Her voice was filled with sorrow as she said, "Blood Heavenly Jun was my most prized disciple in the Blood Sect. During a war between gods and demons, Blood Heavenly Jun shielded me from the Heavenly Goddess Nuwa's 'Love That Captivates the City,' and perished."
Hearing her words, Li Hu was moved and sadly comforted her, "The dead cannot be brought back to life. Please don't be too sad, Great God. By the way, was Heavenly Jun a woman?"
"Hmm, of course she's a woman, but the title I gave you, Blood Heavenly Lord, is different from her 'Jun' (a type of jade pendant). Boy, do you want to learn better and more powerful skills? As long as you're willing to become my disciple."
The Blood Demon Ancestor said quietly, then his eyes suddenly lit up as he stared at Li Hu.
Li Hu shook his head first, then nodded. He trembled and asked excitedly, "You just said, in the War of Gods and Demons, who did you fight?"
"The goddess Nuwa who mended the heavens. Her 'Love of Allure' is too powerful. Even I wouldn't dare to casually take her attack."
The Blood Demon Ancestor's eyes still held a hint of hatred when he mentioned "Love of Allure. "
Li Hu connected the two, "Love That Shatters the City" and Nuwa, and immediately realized that the ancestor of the Peerless City in the world of Fengyun was Nuwa. Moreover, the Peerless City should still possess the essence of "Love That Shatters the City," but unleashing this move would require the Green Dragon Crescent Blade of the God of War Guan Yu, and the person who unleashed it would be killed by the immense backlash of "Love That Shatters the City." Nuwa, being a goddess, would naturally not be killed by the backlash.
This involved gods and demons, and Li Hu fell into deep thought. If the Blood Demon Ancestor wasn't lying, then there must be other gods and demons in this world of Fengyun. If that were the case, how could he survive? Even if a god or demon moved a finger, someone like him would be utterly vulnerable.
Seeing Li Hu deep in thought, the Blood Demon Ancestor said loudly, "Boy, I will take you as my disciple and I will certainly not mistreat you. Moreover, as long as you become my master, I will teach you my signature skill, the Yin Blood Technique, which is enough to withstand even one or two moves from that person."
"That person? Who is that person?"
Li Hu asked in confusion.
The Blood Demon Ancestor closed her eyes slightly and said softly, "A few days ago, two powerful forces entered this world, one pure Yang and one pure Yin. I feel very familiar with the pure Yin power. If I'm not mistaken, that pure Yin power belongs to Nuwa, or it is the power of her successor."
Hearing her words, Li Hu took a step back. He remembered what the Mud Bodhisattva had said: two extremely fierce lights, one of which was his, and the other Mud Bodhisattva dared not speculate on, and died mysteriously, which must be related to that extremely fierce light. Now Li Hu understood that the one chasing him might actually be Nuwa.
But why was she chasing him? He wasn't some barbaric demon god; what grudge did he have against her? Li Hu couldn't understand.
Frowning, Li Hu vaguely sensed that the Blood Demon Ancestor's words were still concealing much. This was understandable; if she were truly a barbaric demon god, she naturally wouldn't say much to this insignificant person, and besides, even if she did, he might not understand.
"You said there are two forces, one of which belongs to Nuwa, so what about the other?"
Li Hu asked.
The Blood Demon Ancestor's eyes suddenly sharpened as he stared at Li Hu, startling him. Did the Blood Demon Ancestor know that the pure Yang power belonged to him? But then, the Blood Demon Ancestor abruptly laughed, "That's someone from my Demon Realm. I sense that pure Yang power is very, very evil. Although I don't know why, the power is somewhat weak, but it won't be long before that power is a hundred times stronger than Nuwa's, or even than mine."
Li Hu asked again, "Then why did Nuwa, or her successor, come to this world? Was she chasing after that pure Yang power?"
"Yes, since the pure Yang power belongs to someone from the Demon Realm, Nuwa naturally had to chase after it. Otherwise, this world would be destroyed, and the balance would be broken. Nuwa is also a goddess, the embodiment of justice. She chased after it to destroy the owner of that pure Yang power."
The Blood Demon Ancestor nodded and said, his tone somewhat indifferent.
A sharp pain shot through his head, and Li Hu slumped into a chair. He couldn't believe he was labeled a demon, and the Blood Demon Ancestor's ignorance of the pure Yang power originating from him only deepened his confusion. Did he have a past life, perhaps even a great demon from the desolate demon realm?
"What's wrong, kid? What are you afraid of? Even if Nuwa herself came to this world, her power would be greatly diminished. If she encountered that person, she wouldn't dare to fight her directly. Otherwise, if they each unleashed a single move, this world would surely be wiped out,"
the Blood Demon Ancestor said, observing the fear on Li Hu's face.
Shaking his head, Li Hu smiled bitterly. The Blood Demon Ancestor was right, but Nuwa was a goddess. What was he? He was less than an ant before her. If she truly wanted to kill him, he probably wouldn't even see her face before he was gone.
After thinking for a while, Li Hu looked at the Blood Demon Ancestor excitedly and said, "Alright, I'm willing to become your disciple and learn that Blood Technique."
"The Yin Blood Technique, that's my strongest move. It's slightly weaker than Nuwa's 'Love of the City,' but if I recover my full strength, I might have a chance to fight her to the death."
As he spoke, the Blood Demon Ancestor's confidence waned.
Li Hu chuckled inwardly. What kind of demon god was this? He didn't even have confidence in himself; how could he possibly fight Nuwa?
Thinking of "Love of the City," Li Hu also felt a surge of excitement. Since Nuwa had released "Love of the City" and survived, the essence of her technique remained in Wushuang City. If he could obtain the Green Dragon Crescent Blade and the essence of "Love of the City," and with the Blood Demon Ancestor's help, he would have a better chance of defeating her.
Looking at the Blood Demon Ancestor in the mirror, Li Hu asked in a deep voice, "Master, how will you teach me the Yin Blood Technique from inside the mirror?"
The Blood Demon Ancestor chuckled, "Just because I can't get out doesn't mean you can't get in. I don't like conventions. I'll call you Blood Heavenly Lord, and you can call me Blood Mist."
"Blood Mist? How am I supposed to get in?"
Li Hu frowned, looking at the Blood Demon Ancestor, Blood Mist, feeling somewhat annoyed. He had been half-forced to change his name, but the title Blood Heavenly Lord was quite good
. In the future, as he ventured into the martial world, Blood Heavenly Lord would surely become one of his titles. Blood Mist closed her eyes, and a few seconds later, she suddenly opened them, shooting out two beams of red light. Li Hu felt extremely blinded, and his head spun. When he opened his eyes again, he saw a surprising scene.
The place he was in was filled with red mist, carrying a bloody smell. Li Hu immediately realized that this red mist seemed to be entirely blood mist, and the visibility was less than ten meters.
"Blood Heavenly Lord..."
A delicate call echoed from all directions.
Li Hu looked around, unable to see who spoke. He knew it was Xue Lan who had called him.
"I'm in, Xue Lan."
The voice seemed to respond. Li Hu frowned, thinking, "You don't even bother to come out and meet me; you have no sincerity whatsoever."
Just as he was getting a little frustrated, he felt a hand pat his shoulder. Calmly, Li Hu turned around, and the first thing he saw was an absolutely beautiful face. Her alluring pink cheeks, captivating phoenix eyes, thin, delicate lips, and pointed chin all exuded Xue Lan's beauty and charm.
As his gaze moved downwards, Li Hu was astonished. This Blood Demon Ancestor, Xue Lan, had a truly voluptuous figure. Her breasts, hidden beneath a red gauze dress, were enormous, almost too large for two hands to grasp. Through the glimpses of her transparent dress, one could see her alluring body.
"Is this real? Am I seeing things?"
A bewildered Li Hu looked like a lecherous lecher. He'd seen plenty of beautiful women, but a beauty like Xue Lan, who made him want to seduce her, was truly rare. No wonder, given she was a savage demon goddess; her appearance, her fiery figure—was she just an illusion?
Xue Lan didn't scold Li Hu for his burning gaze. Instead, she swayed her hips, placed her hand on his shoulder, and said in a sweet voice, "Heavenly Lord, you're still the same as before."
Li Hu was startled. "What did you say?"
He looked at Xue Lan in confusion. Xue Lan shook her head and sighed, "Nothing, it's just that you look a lot like a friend of mine. Heavenly Lord, this is my mirror world, how about it?"
Being called "Heavenly Lord" still felt a little uncomfortable for Li Hu, but since he had come to this world of wind and clouds, changing his name might bring good luck.
"Blood mist pervades, what a strange place,"
Li Hu remarked, looking around.
Xue Lan waved her hand, and the blood mist suddenly dissipated, revealing the reality behind it: a vast, boundless grassland, with distant mountains and flowing water, and strange forests. With Li Hu's eyesight, he could see everything around him.
Xue Lan smiled, "This is all an illusion I conjured."
"An illusion?"
Li Hu was taken aback, then understood.
Since this mirror world belonged to Xue Lan, she was its master, just like himself. Li Hu could manipulate and change everything in the Blissful Realm at will; even building a hundred Dragon and Phoenix Palaces would only take a blink of an eye.
Walking forward, Xue Lan looked up at the blood-red sky and said loudly, "My favorite world, the place my beloved man and I used to dream of, building a small house there, living happily together, raising livestock, farming..."
An ancient demon god with so many hobbies! Li Hu listened to Xue Lan's heartfelt recollections and learned of her unhappy past. Her beloved man had sacrificed himself to prevent her from fighting against the forces of justice represented by Nuwa.
"Do you like riding horses?"
Xue Lan asked, turning to Li Hu after a long pause.
Li Hu nodded, "I love it. I love riding horses and letting them gallop; it feels wonderful."
Xue Lan suddenly added, "He likes them too."
He hadn't expected her to be such a devoted woman. A woman so attached to love was Li Hu's biggest headache, but he secretly vowed to win her over and make her one of his wives.
"Let's ride horses together."
Without asking Li Hu's permission, Xue Lan waved her hand, and two red horses suddenly appeared before them.
One horse was a large, powerful stallion with a loud neigh—Li Hu had never seen such a spirited steed before. The other, a smaller, more docile mare, appeared alongside the stallion, gazing at each other and whinnying softly, like lovers conversing.
Li Hu grunted in agreement, walked up to the stallion, and leaped onto its back. Suddenly, a red light flashed from the stallion's body, striking Li Hu before he could react, sending him flying backward.
"It's rather aggressive,"
Li Hu remarked as he landed.
The red light hadn't injured him, but the stallion's reaction puzzled him. Since the horse's appearance was merely an illusion created by Xue Lan, was she perhaps trying to prevent him from mounting?
Xue Lan's eyes gleamed as she stared at Li Hu, saying each word clearly, "It's very volatile; no one can control it."
Li Hu nearly vomited blood from anger. Since Xue Lan knew it wouldn't let him ride it, why did she still want him to ride with her? Was she expecting him to run away with the horse?
Xue Lan continued, "Only its master can ride it."
"Who is its master?"
Li Hu asked softly.
"Blood Fiend Saint Venerable,"
Xue Lan said softly.
Li Hu thought to himself, even the title alone is so domineering; it seems the Blood Fiend Saint Venerable Xue Lan speaks of must be an extraordinary person. Looking at Xue Lan, Li Hu saw a complex expression of sorrow and joy in her eyes as she looked at him.
Xue Lan flipped over and mounted the mare, teasingly saying, "If you want to become the Blood Fiend Saint, you'll have to tame it, giddy up..."
Blood Fiend Saint? Li Hu shook his head. What ability did he have to become the Blood Fiend Saint? Anyone with that title must have some connection to Xue Lan, but what was her purpose in making him the Blood Fiend Saint?
Li Hu was a stubborn man who refused to admit defeat. Although there was a world of difference between him and Xue Lan, if he couldn't even tame a horse, wouldn't he be laughed at by Xue Lan?
Reaching the stallion, Li Hu stroked its back and said in a deep voice, "I am the Blood Fiend Saint Venerable. Don't you even recognize me? If you don't let me ride you, I'll roast you and eat you."
The stallion suddenly knelt on the ground, neighing. Li Hu exclaimed in surprise, "Damn, this works!"
Although he wasn't sure if it agreed to let him ride it, Li Hu cautiously tested the waters. When he straddled it, the stallion didn't release any red light to attack him. Instead, Li Hu felt a gust of wind rush towards him. Before the stallion could even stand up, it soared into the air, flying six or seven meters before landing. Its four hooves pounded the ground, and it neighed as it chased after Blood Mist, who was riding a mare.
Hearing the neighing, Xue Lan turned around and saw Li Hu swaying back and forth on his horse as he caught up. A hint of surprise appeared on her face as she murmured, "Heavenly Lord, you're finally coming back! I knew it must be you."
"Haha, Xue Lan, how about it? I've caught up."
Li Hu finally regained his balance. Without reins and stirrups, although the horse ran like lightning, Li Hu maintained his balance. Even if it braked suddenly, he wouldn't be thrown off.
Xue Lan sat sideways on the mare's back, her legs overlapping. The horse galloped, but she seemed to be sitting on flat ground, not even swaying. The wind ruffled her fiery red hair, and her stunningly beautiful face made Li Hu stare in disbelief.
Seeing him leering at her, Xue Lan scolded playfully, "You rascal, am I that good-looking?"
Li Hu turned to look at her, nodding repeatedly, and said without hesitation, "Of course, you're beautiful, the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."
"Then what do you want?"
Xue Lan continued.
After hesitating for a moment, Li Hu smiled, somewhat self-deprecatingly, "What can I do?"
Xue Lan smiled, giving Li Hu a captivating glance, and then with a clap of her hand, the mare flew off, soaring rapidly into the air.
"She's not interested in me, is she?"
Li Hu couldn't believe that Xue Lan was behaving so provocatively in front of him. Could it be because she hadn't seen a man in many years, and therefore had developed feelings for this handsome man?
Looking at the stallion beneath him, Li Hu shouted, "Chase after them, quick!"
After a long chase and playful frolic, the two horses happily drank water by the stream. Li Hu and Xue Lan strolled along the riverbank, enjoying the beauty of the scene. But what he liked even more was that Xue Lan, like a graceful lady, this savage demon god, always acted like a little woman, saying things he couldn't understand, and sometimes suddenly asking, "Do you like me?"
"Heavenly Lord, I want to bathe here,"
Xue Lan said, looking at Li Hu.
The two stood at the end of the stream, where a waterfall cascaded down the mountainside. Before them was a pool of crystal-clear water, where small fish could be seen swimming. The colorful stones further enhanced the beauty of the pool.
Li Hu nodded and said, "Then I'll excuse myself."
"No, didn't you always say you liked watching me bathe?"
Xue Lan seemed like a different person, acting coquettishly in front of Li Hu.
Seeing the shy expression on her face, Li Hu was bewildered. Did Xue Lan mistake him for someone else? Otherwise, why would she keep saying such inexplicable things? Just as Li Hu was about to say that he was a gentleman and how could he watch a woman take a bath, Xue Lan turned her back to him.
Xue Lan placed her hands on her shoulders, lifted the hem of her skirt, and suddenly pulled it to both sides, causing the long red dress to slide down. Li Hu's eyes widened instantly. Although it was only her back, the flawless white back, the high-perched peach-shaped buttocks, and the long, slender legs all gave Li Hu a visual shock.
Could this be her real self, or not an illusion? It was too real. Li Hu even wanted to step forward and touch her skin to test its authenticity, but after mustering his courage, he still didn't dare to go forward. If this demon goddess Xue Lan was toying with him, on her turf, wouldn't he be the one to be forced into a relationship?
Turning around shyly, Xue Lan saw Li Hu staring intently at her back. She said sweetly, "Heavenly Lord, sit here, I'm going into the water."
Li Hu hummed in agreement. Seeing Xue Lan step into the water, he walked to her red skirt and sat down. Since Xue Lan didn't mind him watching her bathe, Li Hu naturally wouldn't be polite, his eyes following her every move.
In the clear water, Xue Lan's legs were visible, appearing shorter in the reflection, but this didn't detract from their beauty. Xue Lan stopped after a few steps, cupped her hands in water, and tilted her head back to pour it over her neck. The water droplets immediately slid down her neck.
"This water is so comfortable,"
Xue Lan exclaimed contentedly.
Li Hu couldn't help but sigh inwardly. This woman was incredibly alluring. If she weren't a savage demon goddess, Li Hu would have loved to jump into the water right now and have a romantic dance with her.
Turning to Li Hu, Xue Lan smiled charmingly, "Heavenly Lord, I remember you were just as wooden when we first met, and you're still like that now."
"You're so beautiful, so beautiful I don't know what to do,"
Li Hu swallowed, his face flushed and his breath coming in ragged gasps.
His eyes were fixed on the enormous breasts half-hidden beneath Xue Lan's long hair, those two small, delicate mounds, the only thing not covered, pink and particularly eye-catching, high and firm. These were breasts Li Hu had never seen before, and with Xue Lan's soft breathing, they trembled slightly.
Xue Lan splashed water with her hands, laughing as she called out, "I know I'm a woman of the Demon Clan, but I love you, and I'm willing to give everything for you. So you must promise me, you will always love me and cherish me, and you must never forget me."
Hearing her words, Li Hu didn't respond, because he was certain that Xue Lan wasn't talking to him at all. Although her alluring eyes were fixed on him, Xue Lan's lover was definitely not him.
"Yes, you haven't regained your memory yet. Heavens, what have I been telling you?"
Xue Lan submerged into the water, her blush deepening.
Hearing her inexplicable words, Li Hu suddenly felt a sense of disbelief. Had Xue Lan lost her mind and said such things to him? Did they have some kind of relationship? And what did it mean that she hadn't regained her memory?
Nuwa's pursuit of him made Li Hu begin to speculate about his identity. Could he, like Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun, be a celestial being descended to earth? Otherwise, Nuwa wouldn't have chased after him. But Li Hu could only bury his suspicions in his heart. If Xue Lan really wanted to tell him, she certainly wouldn't hide it from him.
