Our love

In March or April of 2004, I was bored at my hometown. Back then, we still used black-and-white screen cell phones, the kind that could only make calls and send messages, with few other functions. One day, I received a push notification from a mobile phone company called "Mobile Very Men and Women," and I added them. I chatted with many people, but nothing really came of it. One day, I added a friend named "Smurf." I greeted her by saying, "Are you a beauty?" She replied, "I'm not a beauty, but I have a certain charm." Then she asked, "Are you a handsome guy?" I answered, "I'm not handsome, but I have a unique style." That's how we started chatting. Back then, sending a message cost 10 cents. We chatted every day, and our phone credit went down quickly. One day, she messaged me saying she was done chatting because she was out of credit. I was still chatting enthusiastically, so I said, "No problem, I'll top up your credit." I ran out and bought a 100-yuan recharge card, scratched off the number, and sent it to her. At first, she refused, but I said, "I've already scratched it off, I can't return it, just top it up." We argued for a long time, and finally, she topped up her card. She probably thought I was a decent person, quite witty, and not stingy. That's how we became good friends.
About half a year passed like this. We got to know each other better. We were both single, so I said let's date. At first, she said we could only be friends, but after her sweet words, she finally agreed. We started calling each other husband and wife and began chatting online, only sending messages to each other's IDs. After we confirmed our relationship, she told me her phone number. We started calling each other every day, often for hours on end, even when our phones got hot. We whispered sweet nothings and expressed our longing for each other. Those days were sweet and unforgettable. We talked about scenery from different places, the places we wanted to go, food, life, and our experiences over the years.
One day, she suddenly stopped replying to my messages and turned off her phone. I was extremely anxious, like I had lost a precious treasure. I started losing my appetite and couldn't sleep at night. People in love feel terrible even if they're separated for a second. I was very sad and didn't know why. I thought about what I had said, but I hadn't hurt her in any way. So I sent her messages and called her day and night, hoping she would see them and call me back. But each day brought disappointment. She never contacted me again. One day, I saw an advertisement in the newspaper for a phone number monitoring service. It said that if you activated this service, you would receive a notification whenever the phone you wanted to monitor was turned on. So I activated it. After a long wait, I finally received a notification one day. She had turned on her phone, so I called her. It rang once and then I couldn't get through. I started sending her messages, but she didn't reply. About a month passed like this. Then one day, I received a message from her. I was overjoyed. She said she had gone to the countryside and there was no cell phone signal, which was why she hadn't been in touch. Later, when I went to her house, I found out that she had been going on blind dates and was with her boyfriend.
We started contacting each other again. I suggested we meet, and she said she wanted to see what I looked like. I told her to give me her address and I would send her a photo. Back then, I didn't know how to use QQ. I wrote her a letter and sent her a photo. After receiving it, she told me she looked pretty good. I asked her to send me a photo too. When I received it, I couldn't wait to open it. In the photo, she was wearing a hat, glasses, jeans, and a t-shirt. Her face wasn't very clear, but she looked pretty good. I brought up meeting again, and she asked me if I had ever done "that" with a woman. I said yes. I asked her if she had, and she said no. She said she didn't have enough money for the trip to see me, so I sent her 500 yuan. She sent me the lyrics to a song sung by Wawa, "I've Crossed the Ocean to See You." I was very touched and looked forward to her arrival soon.
On December 14th, she called me to say she had arrived in Shenzhen and asked me to pick her up. I was very excited. I got ready and went to the station to wait for her. Around 7 PM, she said she had gotten off the train. I looked for her in the crowd and found her wearing a black outfit and carrying a bag. I offered to carry her bag, but she refused. I carefully accompanied her the whole way. I suggested we go eat, asking what she wanted. She said anything was fine. We found a restaurant by the roadside, and I told her to order whatever she wanted. She said she didn't have much of an appetite after the journey, so she ordered a plate of ribs, a vegetable dish, and a soup. While eating, we looked at each other and chatted. After dinner, I suggested we find a place to stay. We looked at a few places and finally found a rental apartment. We bought blankets and pillows and moved in. To this day, my wife says that she only wanted to spend a few days with me to end this relationship and then go back to get married. She didn't want me to spend too much money. But this one glance led to a lifetime of love, and we started living together. This is how my wife and I went from online to real-life love. My writing isn't very good, so this is the best I can do.
