[Wuxia] Jiaojiao Yitian (Complete) - 2

Chapter 004 Initial Success in Divine Skill

In a daze, Zhang Wuji finally fell asleep. In his dream, he dreamt again of his blissful moments with Xia Rulan, so much so that when he woke up the next day, he found his crotch soaked!

"I'm sorry, my descendants, your father really can't find your mother!" Zhang Wuji looked at the wet patch and shook his head, muttering to himself.

The sun was already high in the sky, probably past nine o'clock. Hungry, Zhang Wuji went to Green Lake to bathe and catch fish, and also to prepare his breakfast!

In this Green Valley, the only person he could talk to was Zhu Changling. Zhang Wuji could only chat with him to learn about some folk customs from the late Yuan Dynasty. He also learned about the situation in the martial arts world. No matter what, he had to find a way to get out of here someday. Even if he couldn't master the Nine Yang Divine Skill or become a peerless hero, he would still rely on his own abilities to get out. Becoming a wealthy tycoon or a powerful landlord, with billions in assets, building a huge manor, and marrying a hundred or so wives and concubines would make this transmigration worthwhile!

Thinking of this, Zhang Wuji perked up. There really wasn't much to do in the valley, so he could only repeatedly memorize the Nine Yang Divine Skill. Several times, Zhang Wuji couldn't help but ask Zhu Changling some basic questions about acupoints and meridians, because he truly couldn't understand the methods of practicing these skills. But asking was useless, because Zhang Wuji was only asking out of context, making it impossible to connect the dots. Besides, he didn't know if Zhu Changling was misleading him; what if he was like Huang Rong who tricked Ouyang Feng into mistakenly practicing the Nine Yin Manual? Wouldn't he go insane?!

After several days, Zhang Wuji had memorized the text of the Nine Yang Divine Skill perfectly, but he was so bored that he even started studying some Tibetan script!

With nothing to do in the valley, Zhang Wuji could only play with the monkeys and occasionally catch a wild goat or two; roasting a whole goat was quite delicious!

One day, while roasting a whole goat, Zhang Wuji looked at the Nine Yang Divine Skill, and the more he looked, the angrier he became! He thought to himself that he was utterly useless and couldn't understand the meaning of the text!

"What kind of bullshit martial arts manual is this?! It's utterly incomprehensible! I'm furious! I read it every day and still can't understand a single thing! I might as well burn it!" Zhang Wuji said, and in a fit of anger, he actually threw the entire manual into the fire!

The moment he threw the manual into the fire, Zhang Wuji regretted it. This was, after all, a martial arts treasure, something everyone wanted, but he just couldn't understand it. If he had taken it to Wudang Mountain and given it to Zhang Sanfeng, he probably would have received a lot of praise, and maybe even learned some Tai Chi or internal energy!

Thinking of this, Zhang Wuji hurriedly took the manual out of the fire! But the fire was too strong, and when Zhang Wuji took the manual out, several pages of the cover and back cover were already burned!

Just as Zhang Wuji was feeling heartbroken, he wiped the burned areas and found something glittering with gold.

Zhang Wuji was shocked, and upon closer inspection, he realized that there was a hidden layer in the middle of each page, and inside each layer was a thin gold leaf.

"Wow, there's gold too!?" Zhang Wuji exclaimed in surprise, gently pulling out a gold leaf from the hidden compartment. Holding it up to the sunlight, he examined it closely. The gold leaf even had pictures on it, and the pictures were exceptionally clear—human meridian diagrams, complete with text!

"This is a illustrated guide to the Nine Yang Divine Skill!?" Zhang Wuji was overjoyed. He immediately grabbed the other scriptures and carefully peeled them open, finding a total of 108 chapters of gold leaves. Inside were not only meridian diagrams and acupoint diagrams, but also meditation and practice steps—so detailed that even someone who couldn't read would know how to practice the Nine Yang Divine Skill just by looking at the pictures!

"Haha…Heaven is helping me!!" Looking at the 108 chapters of gold leaf pictures, Zhang Wuji was as happy as if he had found a treasure—no, even happier than finding a treasure!

With these illustrated guides, Zhang Wuji knew that before long, he would truly become the Zhang Wuji of eight hundred years ago. No, he must surpass him! Regardless of whether his martial arts skills were comparable, in terms of winning the heart of a beauty, he couldn't be inferior to him! Of course, the final outcome was that he would win both the empire and the beauty!

This was Zhang Wuji's requirement for himself! Otherwise, he would have truly wasted this time-traveling experience!

Actually, Zhang Wuji didn't know if he could master the invincible Nine Yang Divine Skill! But even if he couldn't, at the very least, he could improve his health and become a wealthy landowner even if he didn't become an emperor. Well, practicing martial arts was better than being idle every day, even if it was just to pass the time. With this thought in mind, he was happy whether he succeeded or failed, and facing the 108 golden leaves of the Nine Yang Divine Skill, his practice progressed extremely quickly...

When Zhang Wuji first channeled his energy into his dantian and leaped into the air, he finally understood what it felt like to be as light as a swallow, and the joy of a bird flying freely in the sky! He thought of Murong Bai and Yu Jiaolong running through the bamboo forest in Ang Lee's movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," it was truly so beautiful and exhilarating!

With each passing day of practice, Zhang Wuji's internal energy gradually accumulated. In fact, judging by martial arts standards, Zhang Wuji's progress was absolutely that of a prodigy! In just three months, he had thoroughly studied and comprehended all the techniques recorded in the first volume of the Nine Yang Divine Skill manual and mastered them accordingly.

After completing the first volume, he felt light and healthy, his entire body flowing with true energy. Clenching his fists and striking with his palms, breaking stones and splitting wood were effortless for him! Zhang Wuji understood that he was gradually approaching the level of those martial arts masters in movies! Overjoyed, he studied even more diligently.

Every day, besides practicing, Zhang Wuji played with the monkeys, always sharing half of the fruit he picked with Zhu Changling. He was carefree and unrestrained. However, Zhu Changling was confined to a small platform, where each day felt like a year. In winter, with the mountains covered in ice and snow and the biting wind, his suffering was indescribable.

Logically, Zhang Wuji's physique should have been more frail than Zhu Changling's, but since mastering the Nine Yang Divine Skill, he became impervious to heat and cold, his body able to regulate itself to remain warm in winter and cool in summer. He completed the second volume in half a year, a remarkably rapid improvement. However, the more he practiced, the more difficult and profound the techniques became, and the slower his progress. The third volume took a full year, and the final volume took over two years to complete.

In total, Zhang Wuji's journey back to the world eight hundred years ago involved spending four years in this secluded snow valley, transforming him from a seventeen-year-old high school student into a tall, robust young man.

During a playful climb of a snow-capped mountain with monkeys, he spontaneously decided to climb the cliff face himself, just like the monkeys, and gaze into the distance! Looking down from the peak, Zhang Wuji could already see distant villages!

At that moment, Zhang Wuji realized he was fully capable of escaping this snow valley and venturing into the outside world, and that his skills were now extraordinary. Although he lacked any martial arts skills, his agility and powerful internal energy were enough to allow him to survive in the outside world. In fact, once he mastered the third volume of the Nine Yang Divine Skill, he could have flown across the snow-capped peaks to the outside world. However, he was so engrossed in practicing the skill that he didn't attempt the leap, resulting in him staying in the valley for two or three more years.

But Zhang Wuji wasn't regretful. These four years had brought him peace of mind, and his connection with nature had become more natural. He even felt a connection to the heavens. These four years had also allowed him to master the world's most miraculous martial art, the Nine Yang Divine Skill! If he had ventured out three years earlier, he might have been surrounded by beautiful women and perhaps become incredibly wealthy, but he would never have been able to make a name for himself in the martial world! There are always

mountains beyond mountains, and people beyond people. Mastering the third volume of the Nine Yang Divine Skill wasn't enough to dominate the world, or even to survive! His peaceful state of mind had almost completely extinguished the desire he had four years ago to become king, to conquer beauties and the world!

Over the past four years, Zhang Wuji's memories of his 21st-century life had diminished considerably, gradually fading away altogether! He had grown accustomed to solitude, to living alone, to the company of monkeys, to the freedom of breathing in the morning fragrance of flowers, drinking in the dew, basking in the sunlight, and swimming freely in the Emerald Lake! Zhang Wuji had fallen in love with this place!

If he ventured out into the world and found it too dangerous, even unbearable, he would bring his beloved back here to live a carefree life. He could build pavilions, bridges over streams, towers and pavilions, even a dreamlike rooftop garden!

All of this was possible with the help of his profound internal energy.

How did Zhang Wuji know his internal energy was profound? He could simply pick up a hard stone and crush it into powder with less than a fraction of his internal energy. With that single bit of power, Zhang Wuji knew he was already incredibly powerful.

On the afternoon of the day he traversed the snowy valley peak, Zhang Wuji perused the 108 golden leaf patterns from beginning to end. After turning the last page, he felt a mixture of joy and slight melancholy. The Nine Yang Divine Skill was now complete, and the 108 golden leaves had fulfilled their historical mission: to prevent the martial arts world from stealing and pursuing them.

Zhang Wuji held the 108 golden leaves in his hand, and soon, they slowly melted into molten gold!

He poured the molten gold into a groove he had made, and the 108 golden leaves ultimately transformed into four gold bars.

While practicing his martial arts, Zhang Wuji was completely focused each day, never feeling lonely. But on this day, having achieved great success, he suddenly felt empty inside. Coupled with the newfound skill, his courage surged, and he thought, "Of course I should leave now, but I should also do a good deed! Zhu Changling has been with me for four years; naturally, I must leave. I can't leave him here to starve to death; that would be inhumane. Besides, I've already mastered the Nine Yang Divine Skill; even if he tries to harm me, I'm no longer afraid. I might as well go and talk to him." So he bent down and began to crawl into the cave.

Logically, Zhang Wuji's current physique, that of a young adult, shouldn't have been able to squeeze through the narrow cave. However, with the Nine Yang Divine Skill, everything became simple, because he had already used the Bone Shrinking Technique countless times during his practice in the Green Valley!

Zhang Wuji made up his mind, took a deep breath, and activated the Bone Shrinking Technique. His bones tightened, the gaps between them narrowed, and he easily crawled through.

That moment of miraculous feat was absolutely unbelievable and impossible for ordinary people. But for Zhang Wuji at this moment, it was no longer something to be proud of. It was as simple and easy as eating, drinking, defecating, and sleeping!

This was the contrast between the change in mindset and the resulting difference in ability. Zhang Wuji himself didn't know that the moment he stepped out of the cave, the course of history had changed. He changed not only events from eight hundred years ago, but his altered history even influenced events eight hundred or a thousand years into the future!

Zhang Wuji's step led to a complete rewriting of history from that day eight hundred years ago. A man named Zhang Wuji appeared not only in martial arts legends but also in the histories of the Yuan and Ming dynasties!

Chapter 005: Framed and

starving for four years, Zhu Changling, who hadn't eaten meat for four years, lived on a small platform on a cliff. His four years were far longer and more painful than Zhang Wuji's. He didn't go mad, thanks in part to Zhang Wuji's occasional teasing and conversation. Without Zhang Wuji, Zhu Changling probably wouldn't have survived those four years!

At this moment, Zhu Changling was fast asleep against the stone wall, dreaming that he was holding a grand banquet at home, with servants running errands and relatives and friends fawning over him, enjoying a life of great power and pleasure. Suddenly, he felt someone pat his shoulder a few times and woke up with a start. Opening his eyes, he saw a tall figure standing in front of him.

Zhu Changling jumped up, still not fully awake, and exclaimed, "You...you..."

Zhang Wuji smiled and said, "Zhu Changling, it's me, Zhang Wuji."

Zhu Changling was surprised, delighted, annoyed, and resentful. He stared at him for a long time before saying, "You've grown so tall. Humph, why haven't you come out to talk to me? No matter how much I begged you, you always ignored me?"

Zhang Wuji smiled and said, "I was afraid you would make things difficult for me. You know, if you hadn't chased me, how would I have ended up in this cave! But it's alright, if I hadn't been able to get into the cave, we..." "Both of them will starve to death sooner or later on this small platform on the cliff."

Zhu Changling's left hand shot out, using a grappling technique to grab his shoulder, and he shouted sharply, "Don't talk to me about gratitude! You're the one who caused all this today! Why aren't you afraid today?" Suddenly, his palm burned, and his arm involuntarily trembled. He released his grip, and a faint pain shot through his chest. Startled, he took three steps back, staring blankly at him, and asked, "You...you...what kind of skill is this?" This was

the first time Zhang Wuji had used the Nine Yang Divine Skill after mastering it, and it was incredibly powerful.

Zhu Changling was a first-rate master, but he was forced to release his grip after being shocked by Zhang Wuji's divine skill. Seeing Zhu Changling's disheveled and astonished state, he was secretly pleased and laughed, "Is your skill still usable?"

Zhu Changling was still unsettled and asked again, "Then...what kind of skill is that?"

Zhang Wuji said, "It's the Nine Yang Divine Skill

, isn't it?" The Nine Yang Divine Skill was known to everyone in the martial arts world! The three great martial arts schools of today—Shaolin, Wudang, and Emei—are all established because of the Nine Yang Divine Skill. Zhang Sanfeng of Wudang and Guo Xiang of Emei only learned a small portion of it, yet they were able to found their own schools, elevating Wudang and Emei to a level comparable to Shaolin. This demonstrates just how powerful the Nine Yang Divine Skill is! This kid has actually learned the Nine Yang Divine Skill?! How could Zhu Changling not be astonished? He immediately asked in surprise, "How did you learn it?"

Zhang Wuji didn't hide anything and recounted the story from *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber*. He explained how he cured the white ape, how he obtained the scriptures from its belly, and how he practiced it according to the prescribed methods.

These words filled Zhu Changling with both jealousy and anger. He thought, "I've suffered unspeakable hardships on this precipice for over four years, while you, kid, have mastered an incredibly profound martial art." He didn't want to be in this predicament because of his own scheming to harm others, nor was he grateful that the other had gathered fruit for him for over four years, feeding him daily until now. He felt that this kid was too lucky, while he was too unlucky—it was utterly unfair. Suppressing his anger, he smiled and said, "Where's the Nine Yang Manual? Can I see it?"

Zhang Wuji thought, "Even if I showed it to you, you wouldn't remember it, and you wouldn't even look at it. Besides, the book is burned, the gold leaf has melted, everything is only in my mind. How can you expect to see it? I might tease him a little, though!" So he said, "I've buried it in the cave; I'll bring it to you tomorrow." Still relying on his own hands? Zhu Changling said, "You've grown so tall, how can you get through that cave?"

Zhang Wuji said, "The cave isn't too narrow. I squeezed through by shrinking my body."

Zhu Changling said, "Do you think I can squeeze through?"

Zhang Wuji thought, "This Zhu Changling has become obsessed with obtaining the Nine Yang Divine Skill. Good, let him suffer a little and understand that greed has no good end!" So he nodded and said, "Let's try it together tomorrow. The cave is quite large. Staying on this small platform all the time is indeed uncomfortable."

Zhu Changling smiled and said, "Young brother, you are so kind. A gentleman doesn't hold grudges. I have wronged you in the past, and I hope you will forgive me." He then bowed deeply.

Zhang Wuji hurriedly returned the greeting and said, "Zhu Changling, you are also my elder. Normally I should call you Uncle Zhu, so there's no need for such formalities. Let's find a way to leave this place together tomorrow."

Zhu Changling was overjoyed and asked, "Do you think we can leave this place?"

Zhang Wuji replied, "If monkeys can come and go, so can we."

Zhu Changling said, "Then why didn't you leave sooner?"

Zhang Wuji smiled slightly and said, "I didn't know before; actually, I only found out today!"

Zhu Changling laughed heartily and clapped his hands, saying, "Very good, very good!" He took two steps back, then suddenly swayed, cried out "Ouch!" and lost his footing, falling off the cliff.

His joy turned to sorrow; this unexpected turn of events startled Zhang Wuji. He leaned over the edge of the cliff and called out, "Uncle Zhu, are you alright?" He heard two soft groans coming from below.

Zhang Wuji was overjoyed, thinking, "Luckily, he didn't fall straight down, but I'm afraid he's injured." Hearing the groans coming from only a few feet away, he looked closely and saw that there happened to be a pine tree growing below the cliff, and Zhu Changling's body was lying across the trunk, motionless.

Seeing the situation, Zhang Wuji leaped down and carried him up the cliff. With his current skill, it wouldn't be difficult. He had climbed and leaped over cliffs far more dangerous than this when he and the monkey were running and jumping, so he wasn't afraid! He

took a breath, aimed at the branch that stretched out like an arm, and lightly jumped down.

His toes were still half a foot away from the branch when suddenly, the branch plummeted. There was no place to grab onto in mid-air. Even though he had mastered the ultimate skill, a human is not a bird, how could he fly back up the cliff?

A thought flashed through his mind like lightning, and he immediately realized: "Ah, I remember now, the Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber said that Zhu Changling wanted to frame Zhang Wuji in this way! Damn it, I kindly wanted to help him, and he used a treacherous scheme to harm me. Zhu Changling must have broken off the branch, held it in his hand, and dropped it just as I was about to land." But by then it was too late, and his body fell straight down.

At this point, many readers will surely say, "Since Zhang Wuji traveled back in time, how could he not know these things? And to be so foolish as to be framed seems completely illogical!" Actually, if you truly traveled back in time, you'd understand many things. Human memory isn't omnipotent; it doesn't remember every detail. Aside from major events, no one remembers many small details of daily life. For example, if you were to travel back 70 or 80 years to 1930s Shanghai, how much history would you know? Even if you were to travel back 50 years to Hong Kong, you wouldn't know which stock to buy to make money, which horse race to win, or which lottery ticket to win the grand prize. Even if you were to travel back a year and buy the winning ticket for the 514 million yuan lottery jackpot, would you remember the numbers?

Therefore, it's perfectly normal that Zhang Wuji didn't expect or remember Zhu Changling framing him. Moreover, he had lived in the Green Valley for four years. During those four years, he was carefree, focusing solely on practicing martial arts, and had long forgotten that many people in the world were opportunistic, ungrateful, and treacherous.

Zhu Changling, however, had never forgotten what he was meant to do. He lived tenaciously, waiting for this day. His hatred did not diminish because Zhang Wuji fed him fruit every day for four years. He felt no gratitude; all he cared about was revenge, how to tear Zhang Wuji to pieces.

Zhu Changling had lived on this small platform, no more than ten feet in circumference, for over four years. He knew every blade of grass, every tree, every grain of sand, and every stone on the platform by heart. In the darkness, he pretended to fall and injure himself, knowing that Zhang Wuji would jump down to save him. Sure enough, his wicked scheme succeeded, tricking Zhang Wuji into falling into the abyss.

Zhu Changling laughed heartily, thinking, "Today I've smashed this brat into a pile of minced meat, finally venting the anger I've held in for over four years!" Grabbing a long vine beside a pine tree, he leaped back off the cliff, thinking, "Last time I couldn't squeeze through that cave; I must have been too hasty and strained too much, breaking my ribs. This brat is much taller and bigger than me; if he can get through, so can I. After I obtain the Nine Yang Manual, I'll find my way home from there, and one day, having mastered this divine skill, I'll be invincible under heaven. Wouldn't that be wonderful? Haha, haha!"

The more Zhu Changling thought about it, the more pleased he became. He immediately crawled into the cave, and before he had climbed far, he arrived at the spot where he had broken his bones four years ago. He had only one thought in his mind: "This kid is taller and bigger than me. If he can squeeze through, I can certainly squeeze through too."

His idea was sound, but he hadn't anticipated one thing: "Zhang Wuji has mastered the Bone-Shrinking Technique of the Nine Yang Divine Skill."

He calmed himself and, inch by inch, moved forward in the narrow cave. Sure enough, he had moved forward about ten feet more than four years ago. But later, no matter how hard he tried, it was impossible to move forward even half an inch further.

He knew that if he used brute force, he would repeat the mistake of four years ago, inevitably breaking several more ribs. So he steadied himself, exhaled all the air in his lungs, and sure enough, his body shrank another two inches, moving forward another three feet. But his lungs were empty, and he felt increasingly suffocated. His heart pounded like a drum, and he almost fainted. Knowing this was bad, he had no choice but to retreat first.

However, while he had used the uneven mountain wall as leverage to move forward when he went in, he had nowhere to use as leverage when he came out.

When he entered, he held his hands above his head to minimize the size of his shoulders, but now his hands were bound above his head by the surrounding rocks, unable to stretch out or exert any strength. He thought to himself, "This kid is taller than me; if he can get through, I can too. Why am I stuck here? It's truly absurd!"

But there are many absurd things in the world. This master, possessing superior literary and martial arts skills and first-rate intelligence, was now trapped in this narrow cave, unable to move forward or backward.

Let's not even talk about Zhu Changling being trapped in this cave, unable to get in or out! Let me tell you about Zhang Wuji, who fell into Zhu Changling's treacherous trap and plummeted off a cliff. He was filled with self-reproach: "Zhang Wuji, you utterly useless brat!

I knew from watching TV and reading novels that Zhu Changling was incredibly cunning, yet I still fell for his tricks the moment we met! Damn it, damn it!

From now on, I should always remember the plots of novels and TV shows before meeting anyone, so I don't encounter such humiliating situations again! But whether I can survive is still uncertain... Sigh..."

While cursing himself for his fate, Zhang Wuji was actually struggling to survive. His internal energy flowed, and he used his strength to leap upwards, trying to slow his fall and avoid being smashed to pieces upon landing. However, in mid-air, he was unsteady and powerless, with no foothold. He could only hear the constant whistling of the wind, and in an instant, his eyes stung as the reflection of the snow on the ground pierced them.

Knowing the difference between life and death, he pinned his hopes on this crucial moment. Seeing a large snowdrift about ten feet away, he had no time to discern whether it was snow or a white rock. He immediately performed three somersaults in mid-air, lunging towards the snowdrift. His body traced a slanted arc, his left foot touching the snowdrift, and with a soft thud, he sank into it.

Zhang Wuji's Nine Yang Divine Skill, honed over four years, finally came into play at this moment. Using the rebound force from the snowdrift, he leaped upwards, but the force of the fall from that towering cliff was incredibly sharp. He felt a sharp pain in his legs as both leg bones snapped.

Although severely injured, Zhang Wuji remained conscious. Seeing the swirling snowdrifts, he realized the large snowdrift was actually a farmer's haystack for storing firewood. He exclaimed inwardly, "What a close call! What a close call! If it hadn't been haystacks under the snow, but a large rock, I, the Zhang Wuji from the 21st century, would have died just like the Zhang Wuji from eight hundred years ago four years ago. I wonder if a Zhang Wuji from a thousand years in the future might travel down and continue this Zhang Wuji's miraculous adventures?!"

Having escaped death, Zhang Wuji began to let his mind wander again. Humans are truly strange creatures. But this wasn't surprising, because after experiencing so much, Zhang Wuji had become able to face many things with equanimity.

As long as he didn't die, anything was possible!

For Zhang Wuji, being alive was the greatest miracle. In this world eight hundred years ago, his very existence was a magnificent and legendary experience.

Falling off the cliff was like plunging Zhang Wuji from the highest heavens into the mortal world! This great and legendary experience began with this fall, officially unveiling his story! The legend of Zhang Wuji in the 12th century unfolds from this point!

Chapter 006: First Steps

Zhang Wuji felt his legs were broken, and the pain was excruciating! He could only use his hands to slowly crawl out of the woodpile and roll onto the snow. At this moment, he examined his leg injuries, took a breath, and reached out to set his broken leg bones. He thought, "If I lie here without moving, it will take at least ten days to half a month before I can walk again. But that's alright. Even if I can't walk, I can use my hands instead. I won't just starve to death here."

He thought that with his martial arts skills, he could have easily left the valley and made a good fortune in the martial world. Instead, he became crippled as soon as he came out. The frustration in his heart was indescribable. At this moment, he really wanted to kill Zhu Changling. However, thinking that Zhu Changling was trapped in the cave and probably had no food or water, he wouldn't live for more than a few days. This thought calmed his anger considerably. He

then looked around at his surroundings; the pile of firewood was clearly from a farmer, indicating there must be someone nearby.

Zhang Wuji wanted to shout for help, but then he thought, "No, this shouldn't be far from Zhu Changling's manor. Given the world of *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber*, Zhu Jiuzhen might still appear! If she discovers me, it will be extremely dangerous. Besides, even if it's not Zhu Jiuzhen, there are too many evil people in the world. It's better for me to lie here alone in the snow and heal my wounds than to call upon an evil person to harm me." With this thought, Zhang Wuji quietly lay down in the snow, waiting for his broken leg to heal.

Because he knew the Nine Yang Divine Skill and was young and strong, his fractures healed much faster than usual!

Zhang Wuji lay in the snow for three days, and the pain had subsided! Knowing that the initial stage of bone setting is when one is extremely immobile, and that even the slightest misalignment could leave one crippled for life, he endured the pain without moving an inch.

However, his stomach rumbled with hunger, and when the discomfort became unbearable, Zhang Wuji longed to move. But he simply couldn't move, and when the hunger became unbearable, he grabbed handfuls of snow to stave off his hunger.

In these three days, Zhang Wuji's thoughts completely overturned his four years of mental adjustment in the Green Valley!

As he ate the snow, he thought: From now on, in this world, I must never suffer at the hands of evil people again! I must treat enemies like autumn leaves swept away by the wind, without any mercy!! Recalling the stories in *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber*, he realized that aside from the Golden-Haired Lion King, Zhang Sanfeng, and the Seven Heroes of Wudang, few could be trusted! The powerful and prestigious sects of the Ming Cult were far more believable. After his injuries healed, he decided that he would either go to Wudang Mountain to find Zhang Sanfeng, or become the leader of the Ming Cult at Bright Peak! Thinking of the tragic deaths of Zhang Cuishan and Yin Susu, and recalling his own treachery at the hands of Zhu Changling, Zhang Wuji repeatedly reminded himself to be careful in this world and never fall for the tricks of evil people again. He wasn't always so lucky to survive a near-death experience! Two

days later, Zhang Wuji lay quietly practicing his skills, feeling his mind clear and his body comfortable. Although his leg injury was severe, his martial arts seemed to have made progress. Moreover, the fracture in his foot appeared to have begun to heal; if there were no problems, he might be able to walk again in a few days!

In the stillness, he suddenly heard several barks from afar, which grew closer and closer, indicating that several fierce dogs were chasing some wild beast. Zhang Wuji was startled: "These dogs have the keenest sense of smell, and those who own them are either wealthy or powerful, or martial arts practitioners. What if I'm discovered?" He

stared intently into the snow and saw a man rushing towards him, pursued by three large dogs barking wildly. The man was clearly exhausted, stumbling and falling every few steps, but fearing the dogs' sharp teeth and claws, he continued running desperately.

Zhang Wuji wanted to help, but his broken legs were still healing, preventing him from walking. Suddenly, he heard the man scream in agony as he collapsed to the ground, two of the dogs pounced on him and bit him viciously. The sight was horrific. Zhang Wuji thought to himself, "Whose dogs are these? They're so ferocious, no less so than wolves or tigers." From the dogs' brutality, he knew their owner was equally ruthless and cold-blooded.

At this moment, Zhang Wuji couldn't care less about anything else; saving lives was the priority. He immediately roared, "You vicious dogs, come here!" Hearing the voice, the three large dogs pounced like lightning. Sensing that Zhang Wuji wasn't a familiar face, they stopped, barked a few times, and then lunged to bite.

Zhang Wuji flicked his finger across the nose of each dog, and all three instantly collapsed, dead.

He hadn't expected to kill three dogs so easily with a flick of his finger, and he was secretly astonished by the power of the Nine Yang Divine Skill.

Hearing the man's weak groans, Zhang Wuji asked, "Brother, were you badly bitten by the vicious dog?"

The man stammered, "I...I...I can't...I...I..."

Zhang Wuji said, "Brother, my legs are broken, I can't walk. Please try to crawl over here, let me see your wounds."

The man said, "Yes...yes..." He struggled to crawl, panting, stopping every now and then, until he was about ten feet away from Zhang Wuji, when he cried out "Ah!" and collapsed to the ground, unable to move any further.

The two were now separated by such a distance, one unable to cross, the other unable to come to the other. Zhang Wuji asked, "Brother, where are you injured?"

The man replied, "I... my chest, my stomach... a vicious dog bit my stomach open, and pulled out my intestines."

Zhang Wuji was shocked, knowing that with his intestines ripped out, he was beyond saving. He asked, "Why did those vicious dogs chase you?"

The man said, "I... I came out at night to chase wild boars, trying not to... trying not to trample the crops. I saw Miss Zhu and... a young master talking under a tree, and I shouldn't have gone in to take a look... I... ouch!"

He cried out and then fell silent. Although he didn't finish his sentence, Zhang Wuji immediately understood who this so-called Miss Zhu was! Only Zhu Jiuzhen could raise such ferocious dogs, and the so-called young master must be Wei Bi! If the deduction was correct, it was most likely that Zhu Jiuzhen and Wei Bi were having a secret rendezvous at night when this farmer saw them, and Zhu Jiuzhen then unleashed the vicious dogs to kill him.

"Outrageous! Like father, like daughter! Zhu Changling was never a good person, so how could Zhu Jiuzhen be any better?!" Zhu Changling has already received his just deserts; Zhu Jiuzhen must not be allowed to run rampant in the village.

Once my legs are healed, the first thing I'll do is settle accounts with Zhu Jiuzhen!

Zhang Wuji was furious when he heard the sound of hooves and someone whistling. It was Zhu Jiuzhen calling her pack of dogs.

The hoofbeats drew closer, and two horses galloped up, carrying a man and a woman. The woman suddenly exclaimed, "Hey!

Cousin, how come General Pingxi and the others are all dead?" It was Zhu Jiuzhen speaking. Her vicious dogs still bore the titles of generals, a fact Zhang Wuji remembered clearly from reading *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber*. Riding alongside her was Wei Bi. He dismounted, surprised, and said, "Two people are dead here!"

Zhang Wuji was now secretly considering whether or not to use the missile he had just fired at the two despicable people! But then he thought, they were all martial artists; even if they weren't top-tier masters, they still had some basic skills. If they dodged his flying stones, their counterattack would be very dangerous. Besides, he couldn't move his legs. Even if they killed him or rendered him immobile, so what? The Zhu family would definitely mobilize all their forces to search for Zhu Jiuzhen. If he couldn't move, he would only face certain death.

Rather than rashly and impulsively killing them, he should endure and wait for an opportunity. Once his legs were healed, the Zhu family was large enough that they wouldn't be unable to find him and settle accounts.

With this in mind, Zhang Wuji decided to play dead. Unless he was forced to and discovered by them, he would never act rashly, sparing the lives of this despicable couple for the time being!

Because it was night, by the moonlight, Zhu Jiuzhen saw that the peasant's belly was ripped open and his intestines spilled out, a gruesome sight. Zhang Wuji, his clothes tattered to the extreme, his hair disheveled, his face covered in a beard, lay motionless on the ground, presumably killed by the dogs. Eager to be with Wei Bi, she didn't want to linger, saying, "Cousin, let's go! These two peasants fought desperately in their dying moments, injuring three of my generals." She turned her horse and galloped westward.

Wei Bi was more observant than Zhu Jiuzhen. Seeing the three dogs dead, he felt a little strange, but seeing Zhu Jiuzhen riding away, he thought that seducing the girl was the most important thing, so he didn't think too much about it and immediately jumped onto his horse and followed.

Zhang Wuji heard Zhu Jiuzhen's giggling laughter coming from afar, and his anger flared even more. He couldn't believe that Zhu Jiuzhen was so callous with human life, and that she could still happily talk about love after killing two people—she was utterly cold-blooded and cruel. A woman so indifferent to human life—Zhang Wuji couldn't believe she understood love. What right did she have to talk about romance? She pitied those three dogs more than people? Did she value human life less than a dog's?

Thinking this, Zhang Wuji's hatred for Zhu Jiuzhen deepened.

At this moment, Zhang Wuji's stomach rumbled with hunger; he only wanted to tear off a dog leg and eat it raw. But he feared that Zhu Jiuzhen and Wei Bi would return in the blink of an eye, discover he was still alive, and after eating her Great General, they would naturally attack again. With his legs broken, he might not be able to defend himself.

The next morning, a vulture saw the dead bodies and dogs on the ground, circled in the air a few times, and then swooped down to peck at them. This vulture was truly doomed; instead of eating the dead bodies and dogs, it swooped down on Zhang Wuji's face. Zhang Wuji reached out and twisted the vulture's neck, killing it with a slight effort. He exclaimed with delight, "This truly is breakfast from the heavens!" He plucked the feathers, tore off a leg, and began to devour it. Though it was raw meat, after three days of hunger, he ate with relish.

Eating raw meat was somewhat unsettling, but when you're starving, it doesn't matter; having something to eat is already a blessing. It's the same principle as foreigners eating raw beef! Before he

finished one vulture, another swooped down. Zhang Wuji ate the vulture meat to stave off hunger, then lay in the snow to heal his wounds, patiently waiting for his leg bone to heal. For several days, not a single person passed through the wilderness. Beside him were three dead dogs and a dead man. Fortunately, the harsh winter prevented the corpses from rotting. Having lived in the verdant valley for solitary life, Zhang Wuji didn't find it bitter. Therefore, he didn't feel lonely or isolated!

That day, Zhang Wuji felt that the pain in his legs had completely subsided. He tried to move them and found they were flexible again. So he carefully stood up, staggering, and surprisingly, he could actually stand and walk.

Just as Zhang Wuji cheered, he suddenly heard the sound of hooves in the distance. He saw a cloud of dust billowing in the distance, and a group of people was galloping towards him at breakneck speed!

Zhang Wuji was immediately alarmed and rolled back behind a haystack to avoid the approaching horsemen.

He saw a pair of deer galloping ahead, followed by a horsemen of about ten people. At the very front of the horsemen were a man and two women. Zhang Wuji recognized one of the men and one of the women; they were none other than the ruthless killers Zhu Jiuzhen and Wei Bi. Wei Bi was riding at the very front, with Zhu Jiuzhen on his left. To Wei Bi's right was another beautiful woman, whose beauty was comparable to Zhu Jiuzhen's, perhaps even surpassing her beauty.

"Cousin, hurry up, or the deer will run away!" Zhu Jiuzhen said to Wei Bi.

"Senior brother, Sister Zhen, the deer is pitiful, why don't you let it go? Don't chase it!" The beautiful woman on the right said with some reluctance.

"Qingmei, stop pretending to be kind here. Nobody asked you to hunt! You can go back now!"

Zhu Jiuzhen said coldly.

It turned out that this beautiful woman was Wu Qingying.

Zhang Wuji knew that Zhu Jiuzhen was a descendant of Zhu Ziliu. Wu Qingying was a descendant of Wu Santong, belonging to the Wu Xiuwen lineage. Wu Santong and Zhu Ziliu were both disciples of Master Yideng, and their martial arts were originally of the same style. However, after more than a hundred years and several generations, the two families' learning had been improved and changed. The brothers Wu Dunru and Wu Xiuwen became disciples of the great hero Guo Jing. Although they also learned "One-Finger Divine Skill", their martial arts were closer to the fierce style of the Nine-Finger Beggar Hong Qigong.

Wei Bi was Zhu Jiuzhen's cousin. Handsome and gentle, he was the object of affection for both Zhu Jiuzhen and Wu Qingying, who secretly loved him. The two women were close in age, both beautiful, each with their own strengths, and their family martial arts were equally matched, earning them a reputation in the martial arts world as the "Snow Ridge Twin Beauties."

In truth, Zhu Jiuzhen and Wu Qingying had long been secretly competing, but Wei Bi found it difficult to choose between them. Therefore, whenever the three were together, while outwardly polite, the two women engaged in sharp debates, neither willing to yield.

Wu Qingying, however, was more reserved. Having studied under Wei Bi in the same school and seeing him daily, she had an advantage over Zhu Jiuzhen. Zhu Jiuzhen, relying on her cousin relationship with Wei Bi, naturally refused to be outdone.

Today, they had gone hunting with their retainers when they saw a fawn and a mother deer walking by, and spurred their horses to give chase.

Zhang Wuji watched a group of horses gallop past, noticing a relatively lagging horse in the procession. As the group passed, he leaped onto the last horse, holding the rider hostage.

"Don't move, and don't make a sound, or I'll kill you!" Zhang Wuji whispered.

"Hero, please...please don't kill me..." the man stammered in panic, barely daring to speak.

Zhang Wuji felt a delicate fragrance emanating from the woman, and the area where he held her chest was full, soft, and elastic—very comfortable to hold! Hearing her voice, he realized he was holding a woman hostage! And a beauty no less stunning than Wu Qingying and Zhu Jiuzhen...

Chapter 007 Snow Ridge Twin Beauties

Zhang Wuji had hijacked the last horse from the procession, intending to knock the rider unconscious, steal his clothes, and blend into Zhu Jiuzhen's group. He hadn't expected to find himself holding a woman hostage. When Zhang Wuji realized his large hands were pressed against the woman's firm breasts, he immediately released them and apologized, saying, "I'm sorry!"

"Pfft..." The kidnapped beauty, still shaken, felt much relieved by Zhang Wuji's apology, and even couldn't help but smile. She knew that such a shy and polite kidnapper probably wasn't a bad person.

"Don't laugh..." Zhang Wuji only then realized his identity as a "kidnapper."

"Great hero, you...you mustn't kill me! Whatever you want, I...I'll do whatever you say!" the beauty said in a low voice, feigning panic.

"I want this outfit you're wearing to impersonate you..." Zhang Wuji stated his idea without hesitation.

"But...I'm a woman, and this outfit doesn't suit you!" the beauty said, somewhat surprised.

Zhang Wuji was now in a dilemma, hesitating and unsure what to do. The pretty young woman said, "How about this? You... I'll give you one of my servants' clothes from Red Plum Manor, but what's your purpose in sneaking into our manor?"

"Nothing much, I just want to tell your young lady not to kill too many animals!" Zhang Wuji said.

"Really!?" The pretty young woman responded happily.

"Cousin, hurry, aim at that deer... if they go into the woods, we won't be able to catch them!"

Zhu Jiuzhen urged Wei Bi, who was standing nearby.

"Cousin, don't worry. It can't escape!" Wei Bi drew his bow and aimed at the running deer.

Zhang Wuji watched this unfold, rummaged through his pocket, and found a fruit pit. He immediately flicked it with his middle finger, sending it flying straight towards the front leg of the white horse Wei Bi was riding!

"Hiss..."

Just as Wei Bi was about to shoot the arrow, the white horse unexpectedly reared up and neighed, then collapsed onto the snow. Wei Bi, who was already drawing his bow and arrow, hadn't grabbed the reins and stumbled, falling off the horse and rolling onto the snow. When the horses behind him saw Wei Bi fall, they immediately reined in their horses to prevent them from trampling over him!

"Cousin..."

"Senior Brother..."

Zhu Jiuzhen and Wu Qingying cried out simultaneously, also reining in their horses and leaping off to help the fallen Wei Bi. Wei Bi, deeply humiliated, ignored the two women's concern and attempts to help him up, and grabbed his whip, lashing the white horse several times: "You beast, how dare you throw me off! I'll beat you to death!!"

"Brother, don't hit it! Maybe the snow is too slippery, that's why the horse stumbled..." Wu Qingying tried to dissuade Wei Bi. Zhu Jiuzhen,

however, disagreed. She angrily said, "How can you not blame this beast? Why are so many horses fine, but this one was startled and stumbled! It even caused my cousin to fall, and the little deer is gone too..."

"Exactly..." Wei Bi, still fuming, whipped the white horse again. The white horse, whipped, howled even more pitifully in the snow.

This made Zhang Wuji feel a pang of pity. The pretty young woman whispered, "Hero, you saved the little deer; but you also dragged the white horse down with you..."

Zhang Wuji was speechless. At that moment, the pretty young woman took a cloak from her backpack and handed it to Zhang Wuji, saying, "Put this cloak on and cover your face; no one will recognize you."

Zhang Wuji took the cloak, put it on, and covered his head as well, asking, "Why are you helping me? Aren't you from Red Plum Manor?"

The pretty young woman replied, "I also can't stand my young lady killing and mistreating servants all day long. It would be best if you could punish her."

"What's your name?" Zhang Wuji asked.

"You can just call me Xiao Feng. By the way, what's your name, hero?" the pretty young woman then asked as well.

"My name is Zhang Wuji!" Zhang Wuji had just given his name when he realized he had spoken without thinking. How could he so casually reveal his identity to a stranger? Zhang Wuji was someone Zhu Changling had been plotting against; everyone in Red Plum Manor knew that!

"Ah!? You...you're Young Master Wuji!?" Xiao Feng was extremely surprised and immediately turned to look at Zhang Wuji. Seeing his slightly dirty but still dashing face, she couldn't help but stammer, "You really are Young Master Wuji!?"

Zhang Wuji didn't speak, but simply nodded.

"Four years...you've finally appeared!! Then...where's my master?" Xiao Feng asked immediately.

Zhang Wuji said, "It's a long story, I won't go into details now. I'll tell you another time!"

"Then...don't you recognize me?" Xiao Feng asked in surprise.

"Girls change a lot as they grow up, you've changed so much, you're almost as old as your young lady, how could I recognize you?" Zhang Wuji didn't forget to flatter the beauty in his arms.

"You, you've grown so much. You still haven't changed your glib tongue..." Although Xiao Feng's mouth was coquettish, she was already very happy inside, as if she had been nourished by sweet honey.

"Don't tell anyone about my identity..." Zhang Wuji was a little worried that if he were discovered, there would be endless trouble, so he demanded that the other party not reveal his identity.

"I understand. Then... will you come back to the manor with me

later?" Xiao Feng asked. "Yes! Can you help me find a job to settle down? No salary, just room and board." Zhang Wuji said.

"That's fine!" Xiao Feng said, "But I don't understand, you... you are our master's great benefactor, why don't you reveal your identity? You would receive better treatment that way..."

Only then did Zhang Wuji remember that Zhu Changling had secretly arranged everything to find out the whereabouts of Xie Xun, the Golden-Haired Lion King. This was actually a very secretive plan, kept hidden not only from the servants but even from his own wife.

Therefore, everyone in the Zhu family had always regarded Zhang Wuji as their great benefactor and knew that Zhang Cuishan had once saved Zhu Changling's life. Anyway, since Zhu Changling himself said it, the servants naturally believed it and had no reason to doubt it.

However, Zhang Wuji didn't want to take advantage of this, and said in a low voice, "From now on, you're not allowed to mention my name. Just call me A-Niu!"

"A-Niu!?" Xiao Feng murmured, "Then what's your surname?"

"Why ask so many questions!" Zhang Wuji said. "I've never heard you tell me your surname."

"My surname is Chen, Chen Jinfeng. They usually call me Xiao Feng..." Chen Jinfeng said with a smile.

"My surname is Zeng, Zeng A-Niu." Zhang Wuji said.

"Zeng A-Niu?!" Chen Jinfeng said, "Then I'll call you Brother A-Niu from now on!"

"Whatever you want!" Zhang Wuji said.

At this time, Zhu Jiuzhen and Wei Bi's anger had subsided. Since the deer couldn't be found after entering the woods, the group returned to the manor disappointed. Because Wei Bi's horse was injured, and Wei Bi didn't want to ride his own white horse anymore, he asked to borrow a horse from the servants! Unexpectedly, Zhu Jiuzhen warmly invited, "Cousin, get on my horse! Let's ride my little red horse together!"

"Senior Brother, ride my horse!" Wu Qingying, not wanting to be outdone, immediately echoed Zhu Jiuzhen's invitation to Wei Bi.

Wei Bi looked around, but ultimately chose to mount Zhu Jiuzhen's little red horse, saying as he did so, "Junior Sister, your horse can't carry two people. I'd better ride my cousin's!"

"That's right! Cousin. Hold on tight, we're leaving!" Zhu Jiuzhen had once again triumphed over Wu Qingying in this direct display of affection, feeling quite pleased with herself.

Wei Bi indeed held Zhu Jiuzhen tightly, and with a sweet shout from Zhu Jiuzhen, the little red horse galloped away.

Wu Qingying, watching from the side, was furious. As soon as Zhu Jiuzhen's horse started running, she spurred her horse to catch up, determined to see if Wei Bi and Zhu Jiuzhen would do anything untoward on horseback—for her, this was more important than jealousy!

Zhang Wuji watched as Wei Bi carried Zhu Jiuzhen, while he himself carried a beautiful young woman, and his heart fluttered!

"Brother A Niu, hold on tight..." Chen Jinfeng said, whipping her horse into a gallop...

Zhang Wuji felt an exhilarating sense of flight, and to top it all off, he had a beautiful woman in his arms, that warm, soft touch he hadn't experienced in so long. This familiar feeling, that familiar scent, made Zhang Wuji feel a surge of desire...

"Ah!?" Chen Jinfeng suddenly felt something hard pressing against her buttocks from behind. She didn't know what it was and gasped softly!

Zhang Wuji didn't seem embarrassed at all; instead, he tightened his embrace around Chen Jinfeng's slender waist... The youthful, vibrant scent of his man filled the air, and Chen Jinfeng was instantly captivated...

Truly, what young man doesn't fall in love, what young woman doesn't yearn for spring?! Wei Bi, Zhu Jiuzhen, and Wu Qingying were all like this, and so were Chen Jinfeng and Zhang Wuji!

At this moment, Zhang Wuji, holding Chen Jinfeng's slender waist, followed Zhu Jiuzhen's horse team straight to Hongmei Manor!

Chapter 008 Hongmei Manor

Hongmei Manor, in his memory, Zhu Changling should have burned down the entire manor in order to gain Zhang Wuji's trust. But when Zhang Wuji saw the manor from afar, he knew that everything was just Zhu Changling's trick.

Zhang Wuji didn't care whether the manor should exist or not; he was simply amazed by its grandeur.

By modern standards of luxury, it was absolutely top-tier. At least in terms of land area, it was a massive estate. A 21st-century real estate developer could build hundreds of detached villas on it, or, if they built high-rises, it would be a huge development.

The main gate, according to Zhang Wuji's estimation, was over thirty meters wide and at least seven or eight meters high. Such a massive gate must have used an immense amount of wood and steel, not even including the two side gates. Even the side gates were wider than modern main gates, each at least seven or eight meters wide.

Zhu Changling was incredibly wealthy; the entire manor was larger than a small town!

There were even steps and large stone lions in front of the gate—in the Northwest region, this was considered very luxurious. A high vermilion wall, black tiles, and a vast manor. From afar, the golden plaque at the gate could be seen, bearing four large golden characters: Red Plum Manor.

Why Red Plum Manor? It's obvious—the entire manor is surrounded by red plum trees, probably several thousand. In early winter, the red plum blossoms, proudly adorning their branches against the snow, appeared even more vibrant and beautiful in the cold, white world around them. Looking from a distance, the entire manor was submerged in a sea of red plum blossoms, appearing exceptionally magnificent…

“Don’t underestimate this expanse of red plum blossoms. There’s a secret here, just like Zhuge Liang’s Eight Trigrams Formation!

This is called the Red Plum Formation…

Anyone who doesn’t know how to navigate it will be trapped and unable to escape!” Chen Jinfeng whispered to Zhang Wuji.

"The Red Plum Blossom Formation!?"

Zhang Wuji was taken aback, recalling Huang Yaoshi's Peach Blossom Formation in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," and couldn't help but ask, "Is this the same as the Peach Blossom Formation on Peach Blossom Island that Huang Yaoshi used to have?"

"Yes, how do you know about the Peach Blossom Formation!?"

Chen Jinfeng said happily, "Our lady is the fifth-generation descendant of the great hero Guo and Chief Huang!

When Master was alive, he didn't allow Lady to easily set up formations and cast spells. These past few years, Master has passed away, and only Lady and Miss are in charge of the manor. Recently, bandits have been rampant, so Lady arranged the plum blossoms outside the manor according to the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams formation to prevent outsiders from entering and disturbing the manor!" "

Why did your master not approve of setting up the Plum Blossom Formation?" Zhang Wuji asked.

Chen Jinfeng said, "You don't understand! Master was a very low-key person, afraid that people in the martial arts world would know that we are the successors of Master Guo and Chief Huang. So, under normal circumstances, he wouldn't allow the use of these formations and martial arts. But the situation is special now, and Madam has no choice but to use formations to ensure the safety of the disciples in the manor."

Zhang Wuji nodded and said, "Your Madam is truly a clever person!"

"Clever? She's also a beautiful woman! She's often with Miss, and people think they're sisters, not mother and daughter!" Chen Jinfeng said admiringly with envious eyes, "The person I admire most is Madam. If it weren't for Madam, I would have left the manor long ago!"

"So you're serving your Madam now?" Zhang Wuji asked.

Chen Jinfeng nodded and said, "Yes."

Zhang Wuji said, "Then why did you go hunting with Zhu Jiuzhen?"

Chen Jinfeng said, "Madam was worried that Miss would cause trouble, so she had me come along..."

Zhang Wuji said, "It seems your Madam trusts you quite a bit and entrusts you with important responsibilities!"

"That's right," Chen Jinfeng said with no small amount of pride.

"So, you do have some authority and power in the manor?" Zhang Wuji asked.

"Besides my mistress and young lady, and the steward Qiao Fu, no one else can control me!" Chen Jinfeng said. "So assigning you a temporary worker is a piece of cake."

Zhang Wuji nodded and said, "That's for the best. I won't bother you for long, at most three to five days, then I'll definitely leave."

"It's fine if you don't leave, anyway, you're a great benefactor to my master and mistress!" Chen Jinfeng said.

As they spoke, the horse team inadvertently passed through the entire Red Plum Formation and entered the manor!

Zhang Wuji thought the exterior of Red Plum Manor was impressive, but he didn't expect the interior to be truly magnificent! The courtyard had everything: artificial hills, gardens, ponds, and galleries. There was a lake with a wooden archway in the center, connected to the shore by a rainbow bridge. The lake water was crystal clear, and you could see the fish swimming in it. The lakeside was connected to a series of lotus ponds. The shore was planted with fruits that could be enjoyed in all four seasons. If it weren't winter, the entire manor would probably be even more beautiful. The garden is filled with strangely shaped rocks interspersed among bamboo groves, and winding paths lead to secluded courtyards of all sizes. Next to the lawn in the north, a fenced enclosure has been built, where deer and water birds frolic. A stream connects the lake to the outside world, and willow -lined banks extend beyond the woods, with an archery range built along the shore, presumably the training ground for the guards.

Chen Jinfeng led Zhang Wuji to a side room and instructed a servant, "This is Young Master Zeng, whom Madam invited back. Prepare some clothes and hot water, and also some food; Madam will be seeing him soon."

The servant immediately followed Chen Jinfeng's instructions.

Zhang Wuji asked, "When will Madam see me?"

"I'm just trying to cover it up. How else can I arrange for someone to take care of you?" Chen Jinfeng said. "Just stay here and relax. If anyone asks, just say you're a friend Madam invited. I'll go back to Madam's to report on my work monitoring Miss today. Take a bath and grab something to eat. I'll come find you again when I have time!"

"Thanks!" Zhang Wuji smiled and nodded.

After Chen Jinfeng left, he looked around the room. It was a small, independent courtyard.

The place was very elegant, a small three-room pavilion. The west side was a study, bright and clean, suitable for reading. It was filled with books, mostly classics like the *Three Character Classic*, *Hundred Family Surnames*, *Analects*, and *Classic of Poetry*. Outside the north window of the pavilion, there were plum and peach trees. The peach blossoms were withered, but the plum blossoms were blooming proudly in the snow.

There are also rectangular windows framed by redwood borders, creating a view of verdant bamboo, its upright and verdant form complemented by the surrounding wintersweet, red nandina, and uniquely shaped rock formations, resembling an elegant miniature Chinese painting. Inside the pavilion, one feels as if outdoors, a scene imbued with poetic and picturesque beauty. In front of the house is a stone platform surrounded by a low stone railing. The roof is a curved vault, its smooth lines providing excellent acoustics, making it a perfect spot for listening to music within the garden.

Inside, the north wall features three large windows, framed by redwood to form three rectangular window views. Outside, wintersweet, bamboo, banana trees, and nandina are planted in the courtyard, complemented by a few lake rocks; each window view is a three-dimensional painting, delicately sketched, ethereal and beautiful. The bonsai are antique and exquisite, with a lasting charm, rich in poetic and picturesque beauty.

Outside, there is a rockery with a half-pavilion on top. This pavilion, built against the wall, is small and graceful, with upturned eaves, perfectly matching the layout of the courtyard. The courtyard was a riot of colors, a vibrant tapestry of blooming flowers, making the entire residence incredibly charming, beautiful, and serene!

Looking at the place, Zhang Wuji thought this must be a room for VIPs. If this were the 21st century, this small villa would cost at least tens of millions, and that's in a third-tier city. In a first-tier city, it would be unthinkable without at least fifty million.

Zhang Wuji suddenly realized that people in ancient times really knew how to enjoy life, and they were comfortable. Compared to people eight hundred years later, people today are much wealthier!

A knock sounded at the door.

"Come in," Zhang Wuji said.

"Young Master Zeng, your hot water and clothes are here!" A servant led three or four people over carrying several buckets of hot water and clothes.

Zhang Wuji nodded and said, "Put them aside, I'll do it myself in a bit."

"Alright, Young Master Zeng, when would you like dinner prepared?"

"An hour later..." Zhang Wuji replied without hesitation.

"An hour!?" The servant was stunned.

Zhang Wuji immediately realized he had brought in a modern concept of time and awkwardly said, "I'm sorry, this is how we calculate time in my hometown. An hour is half an hour..."

"Oh, then we'll bring you dinner in half an hour!" The servant nodded. With that, he led all the servants away.

Zhang Wuji closed the door, poured all the hot water into the bathtub, added cold water, and once the temperature was right, he took off his clothes and got into the bathtub to bathe. For four years, this was the first time he had truly taken a hot bath. Before, in the Green Valley, no matter how freezing cold or scorching hot it was, he always bathed in the lake. Fortunately, he had the Nine Yang Divine Skill protecting him, so he didn't feel anything. But now, when he was actually soaking in hot water, he felt an indescribable comfort all over his body, just like taking a bath in a bathtub at home. It was so wonderful!

After soaking in the warm water until it cooled slightly, Zhang Wuji stepped out of the tub and put on the clothes Chen Jinfeng had prepared for him. It was a set of brocade robes, with a cotton-padded jacket underneath. Wearing it, he felt incredibly warm. Because Zhang Wuji had been using the Nine Yang Divine Skill to keep warm, he rarely experienced the warmth of a cotton-padded jacket, but now he truly felt it. He washed his hair, found a razor, and shaved his face.

Looking in the bronze mirror, Zhang Wuji could see that he had changed. At least compared to four years ago, he was stronger, taller, and more mature! He exuded a compelling aura of mature masculinity, yet still retained a youthful feel.

"Knock, knock..." Another knock sounded at the door.

"Young Master Zeng, are you there?" Chen Jinfeng's voice sounded from outside, unusually gentle.

Zhang Wuji said, "The door isn't closed, please come in."

"Thank you, Young Master Zeng." Chen Jinfeng pushed open the door and entered. Compared to when she went out wearing layers upon layers of clothing, Chen Jinfeng had clearly changed her clothes again, as it was warmer in the courtyard, so she wore fewer layers!

Chen Jinfeng was completely stunned when she saw Zhang Wuji's handsome appearance. She never expected that Zhang Wuji would be even more handsome and captivating to women than Zhu Jiuzhen's cousin, Wei Bi, who was loved by everyone and adored by all women! She was speechless!

Zhang Wuji was also slightly surprised. He hadn't expected Chen Jinfeng to have such a slender figure, with firm, bouncy legs that he could feel without even touching them. Her face was extremely pure and beautiful. She had an oval face like white jade, delicate eyebrows like willow leaves, long eyelashes, a high nose, a pair of black eyes like black diamonds, rosy lips, and a cascade of black hair that reached her waist.

She was tall and slender, with long legs, a supple and delicate waist, full and rounded hips, and long, graceful legs. Her breasts were high and full, trembling and captivating. Her skin was smooth as jade, and in her anger, two blushes appeared on her jade-like face, adding to her allure. In terms of appearance and figure, she was the most beautiful maid Zhang Wuji had seen since entering Red Plum Manor.

Chen Jinfeng was about eighteen or nineteen years old. Her clothes looked like clouds on her, and her exposed skin was smooth, white, and translucent, dazzling to the eye. Her expression was innocent and shy, like a rare orchid in a secluded valley, charming and touching, yet her body was so sexy and alluring, arousing the most primal desires in men: making them want to torture and ravage her, to see her cry out in pain beneath them.

“Young Master Zeng, you…you’re even more handsome than before…” Chen Jinfeng stammered.

Zhang Wuji smiled and said, “You’re also more beautiful than I’ve seen before. To be honest, Xiaofeng, you’re much more beautiful and charming than your young lady!”

“Stop being so glib. I bet you’re hungry. Come and eat!”

Chen Jinfeng was carrying a bamboo basket, which was filled with delicious food: a dish each of chicken and duck, a serving of beef, and a serving of vegetables. For Zhang Wuji, the most touching thing was the bowl of rice. For four whole years, he had had chicken, duck, goose, and fish in Cuigu Valley, but no rice!

Zhang Wuji picked up the rice and started eating, bowl after bowl, until Chen Jinfeng had to serve him bowl after bowl, and even went to the kitchen to get more!

“Eat slowly. Don’t choke…”

Chen Jinfeng said softly, feeling a little sad watching Zhang Wuji eat. She guessed he had been hungry for a long time.

Only then did Zhang Wuji realize how incredibly uncouth he had been as a "robber," and he lowered his head in embarrassment, saying, "Excuse me, why don't you have some too?"

"Pfft..." Chen Jinfeng smiled and shook her head, saying, "You eat, there's plenty of food, take your time."

"Aren't you going to eat?"

"I've already eaten a little! I'll go get you some snacks!" Chen Jinfeng said, turning to leave. As she turned, her slender waist swayed, causing her breasts to heave and her buttocks to sway—a truly breathtaking and spectacular sight, sparking the imagination.

Looking at Chen Jinfeng's alluring and seductive appearance, Zhang Wuji was filled with desire, his mind clouded with fantasies.
