The carriage sped along the mountain road, the jolting so violently that the girl inside almost vomited. Behind them, the sound of hooves echoed, mixed with the shouts of bandits and the screams of guards being hacked down.
As the road ahead turned a corner, the carriage wheel ran over a rock, sending the girl flying. She was thrown out of the carriage and was about to fly towards the rock wall when suddenly an arm reached out from the side, caught her in its arms, and placed her on the horse's back.
The girl looked up and saw only a pair of gentle eyes and a handsome, extraordinary face.
"Who...who are you?"
"Young lady, you've been frightened," the man said with a smile, a truly handsome one. "My name is Han Jianchen."
The smile gradually blurred, and when it became clear again, the girl was surprised to find herself wearing a bright red wedding dress, with red candles burning brightly on the table. Su Ningshuang was huddled under the covers, her eyes tightly closed, her face as red as blood, and when she touched her forehead, it was burning hot.
Yue'er was startled and hurriedly asked, "Mother, how are you?"

Li Tianlin said urgently, "My master's wife is sick. I'll go and fetch a doctor."
