[Urban] Hidden Crimes (Complete) - 1-3

The sun was still blazing at three o'clock in the

morning, and the weather was scorching hot. Even a drop of water that accidentally fell to the ground would evaporate instantly in the sweltering air.

The highway was deserted; only one car passed by occasionally, and because of the heat, they drove extremely slowly, leaving a thin layer of mist rising from the road surface.

The infamous First Prison of City A was located right next to this highway. High walls, a black iron gate, the solemn national emblem hanging inside, and soldiers standing guard outside—all these indicated that this was not a place one could enter casually.

Lian Yu, under the blazing sun, was already sweating profusely, but the girl seemed unconcerned. She stood outside the prison gate, carrying a large bag filled to the brim.

"Brother, can I go in?" Lian Yu looked nervously at the sentry on duty, who stood ramrod straight, wearing a military cap and holding a rifle.

This was her first time dealing with a soldier, and his serious demeanor made her inexplicably uneasy.

"No, I've told you several times, visiting hours are over. You should go back." The soldier replied expressionlessly, sounding helpless.

"I was delayed on the way, that's why I missed it. Could you please make an exception?" Lian Yu had come by bus, but because she wasn't familiar with the area, she had to change stops several times before finally finding this place.

She had even skipped her last two classes that morning, skipping school to go home, grabbing her things, and rushing here. But by the time she arrived, it was already afternoon, long past visiting hours. She had traveled all the way from the east side of the city to the west side just to bring some things to her brother who was in prison. This was her first chance to visit him since his arrest, and she couldn't let it slip away like this. Her brother would be heartbroken if he didn't see her. The more

Lian Yu thought about it, the more guilty she felt. Even after being rejected several times, she still couldn't give up and wanted someone to help her.

“Girl, I want to make an exception for you, but this isn’t up to me. It’s a legally mandated timeframe, and I really can’t help you. You should leave quickly.” The soldier, annoyed by her, couldn’t help but shove her aside.

Lian Yu, startled by his movement, dropped her bag. The girl didn’t say anything, silently picked it up, and then moved forward step by step, glancing back at the prison gate and then at the guard, as if hoping for some kind of turnaround.

“Screech!” A sharp screech of brakes pierced the sweltering air.

When Lian Yu turned around, she saw the large jeep right in front of her, just a half-step away from hitting her. The girl instinctively jumped to the side, her eyes wide, trembling, staring intently at the driver.

"What happened?" Xue Jin questioned, somewhat reproachfully. He'd had a few drinks at a lunch gathering with his old comrades and was resting with his eyes closed when a sudden, violent jolt jolted him awake. He'd lurched forward, grabbing the back of the seat in front of him to avoid serious injury.

"Chief, there was a young girl in front of us who suddenly darted out. I slammed on the brakes." The driver was also drenched in sweat. Because he was driving on the left, there was a blind spot near the prison gate, obstructed by a wall. He was usually very careful while driving, but today, having had a few drinks at lunch, he'd been careless and almost caused an accident. He couldn't take full responsibility; otherwise, he'd lose his job.

"Are you alright?" the driver asked, wiping his sweat with a handkerchief.

"I'm fine." Xue Jin looked at the girl standing frozen in front of the car; her face was pale, and she was trembling—she was clearly terrified.

"Alright, Chief, I'll go check on her." The driver got out of the car.

Xue Jin rolled down the car window and carefully observed the little girl. She was short and thin. Her features were delicate, her face still innocent and youthful. Her small face, no bigger than a palm, had a pair of bright, clear eyes, which seemed to tremble slightly, perhaps from fright. The girl's skin wasn't the usual black or white, but a rather unsightly sallow yellow. Xue Jin then looked at her clothes. He was certain that the girl's family was of modest means. The blouse she wore was somewhat oversized and not a girl's style. She wore black shorts, which made her thin legs look particularly striking. As for shoes, Xue Jin couldn't see them. After

scrutinizing the girl's face again, Xue Jin thought she was at most 15 years old.

Chapter Two:

"Little girl, are you alright?" The driver approached the girl and noticed that her lips were trembling slightly, and her eyes were still fixed on the car in front of her.

"..." Lian Yu didn't speak. She hadn't recovered from the shock, her mind was blank, and her heart was pounding. Because she had been looking back while walking forward, she hadn't been prepared and had been startled.

"Little girl!" The driver, seeing her like this, became a little nervous and gently nudged her, hoping she would regain consciousness.

But even with that gentle nudge, the girl dropped the bag she was carrying and fell to the ground with a thud.

Xue Jin frowned at the sight and opened the car door.

The driver panicked. He was really afraid something had happened to the girl, so he quickly squatted down, calling her name and shaking her trembling arm.

"Let's go to the infirmary." Xue Jin saw that the more the driver shook the girl, the more she trembled, and her eyes were unfocused and vacant. Fearing something serious had happened, Xue Jin made a decisive decision and bent down to pick the girl up.

"Chief, I'll take care of it." The driver quickly reached out to take the girl. But the man had already turned and walked towards the car.

Xue Jin was a typical southerner. Even though he was over 34 and approaching 35, thanks to the beautiful scenery of City A, his skin was very good, and he was quite handsome. He didn't have the typical short stature of southern men; on the contrary, he was very tall, at least 1.82 meters, which made him, who weighed only 150 pounds, appear even more imposing.

When he had hugged the girl earlier, it felt like hugging a ball of cotton; her body was soft but lightweight. Now, in the back seat, the man was holding the girl, and he could see her more clearly. Her slender arms were pitifully thin. He couldn't help but reach out and touch them; beneath the thin layer of skin, only hard bones remained.

Xue Jin was very puzzled. How could such a thin, hard skeleton feel so soft to him? Xue Jin tightened his grip, feeling the girl's body again.

Yes, that's right, the girl's body wasn't soft, but rather very supple.

Such flexibility gave Xue Jin the urge to test her limits, an impulse to bend and break her.

After the doctor gave her an injection, Lian Yu finally stopped trembling. It took her a while to come to her senses.

She blinked her bright, watery eyes, looking around in surprise.

"You're awake?" Xue Jin's voice was pleasant, with a uniquely masculine magnetism.

"Where...where am I?" Lian Yu lay on the bed, her last memory still stuck on the moment the car rushed towards her.

Although she knew she was safe now, she was still a little scared.

The girl's long eyelashes almost covered most of her eyes, but Xue Jin could still see the exotic

gray-blue color within them, making him wonder if the girl was of mixed race.

"I'm the director here. You're in the infirmary now. Our car almost hit you just now." Xue Jin saw the girl's confusion and explained concisely.

"The warden?" Upon hearing the man's introduction, Lian Yu immediately sat up, clearly agitated. Wasn't the warden the highest-ranking official in the prison? Could he help her?

"Uncle, I came to see my brother, but I'm late and missed the appointed time. Can you help me?" Lian Yu, clinging to a sliver of hope, grabbed the man's white sleeve, urgently pleading for his help.

Xue Jin listened to her words, pondered for a few seconds, as if considering something.

"Uncle, my brother and I just moved here recently. I'm not familiar with this place, that's why I'm late. Please, please make an exception."

Lian Yu was grasping at a straw, almost crying with desperation.

"What's your brother's name?"

Chapter Three

"Lian Jun." A ripple appeared in Lian Yu's bright eyes, and her previously sallow face became radiant.

Although the girl was poorly dressed and looked malnourished, her sparkling eyes would likely attract the attention of any man.

Moreover, the girl before him looked helpless and pitiful, easily arousing a man's protective instincts. Even Xue Jin, who never showed favoritism without reason, was slightly moved.

"When did he come in? What crime did he commit?" With nearly a thousand people in the prison, finding someone with only a name was difficult, so Xue Jin needed more information.

Lian Yu's crystal-clear eyes glistened again, causing her thick eyelashes to flutter, looking incredibly beautiful.

"He was arrested a month ago for hooliganism." The girl pouted, and a few tears slid down her cheeks. After her grandmother passed away, she and her brother moved to City A. After finding a place to stay, her brother took over a small restaurant. But after only a few days, people came to collect protection money. The restaurant was small, only making a hundred or so yuan a day. After deducting rent and food costs, there was little left. Where would they get extra money to pay those thugs?

They were just discussing whether they could give less, but unexpectedly, they were attacked with punches and kicks. The attackers became increasingly violent, as if the victim wasn't human. The older brother couldn't hold on any longer and grabbed a knife from the side. In the chaos, he injured one of the attackers.

After hearing this, Xue Jin had a plan in mind. He stood up and, before leaving, told the girl, "Don't be sad. Stay here for now. I'll check for you. Someone will come over soon; just go with him."

Lian Yu was extremely grateful to him and thanked him several times.

Xue Jin just gave a slight twitch of his lips and strode towards the door.

After returning to his office and settling down, Xue Jin picked up the phone.

"Old Li, help me get someone's information..."

A moment later, there was a knock on the door, and a man in his forties wearing a uniform walked in.

He bowed slightly, his face full of smiles, with a fawning expression, and first placed a yellow file folder on the table in front of him.

Then, cautiously, he said, "Chief, I've brought what you asked for."

Old Li had been in this prison for many years. This Chief Xue was notoriously strict, but not to everyone; he only targeted those subordinates who didn't perform their duties well.

The man expressionlessly opened the package, quickly glancing at the few pages inside. His gaze stopped on the section for Lian Jun's relatives.

It turned out that the girl was only 14 years old, in the first year of junior high school, and lived in Xuanhua District.

Although he rarely went to that area, he knew it was a suburban area, mostly inhabited by migrant workers, and living conditions were very poor. The

relatives section only had one name written: Sister Lian Yu.

Could it be that their parents had both passed away? Thinking about the girl's shabby clothes, it was very possible. If so, then Lian Yu was living alone outside now, wasn't she?

Thinking of this, Xue Jin's heart stirred.

He put the documents back into the file folder and then looked up: "Where is 7505 now?"

Old Li was startled. The documents clearly stated it; why was he asking him again? But he didn't show anything unusual on his face. He thought for a moment, "In cell number 6."

"Good, bring him out and take him to the visiting room." The man's lips curled into a slight, eerie smile, carrying a chilling undertone. Old Li, standing before him, felt a chill run down his spine at the sight of his usually stern warden's expression.

Chapter Four:

Lian Yu followed a soldier downstairs, across a wide open area, then past a small patch of messy grass, stopping in front of several bungalows.

"Go in," the soldier said, pointing to one of the rooms.

"Thank you!" Lian Yu, carrying the large bag, gently opened the door.

The room was small and simple, with a dozen tables scattered throughout. Two soldiers stood around a young man, slowly pacing.

"Brother!" Lian Yu looked at that familiar, thin face, her heart aching as if cut by a knife.

Lian Jun was also excited to see his sister enter, abruptly standing up from his chair, but the soldier beside him shouted sharply: "Sit down."

Both siblings were startled, their faces then filled with sorrow.

After Lian Yu sat down, she tightly gripped her brother's hand, unable to let go, tears streaming down her face like a broken string of pearls.

"Xiao Yu, why are you crying? Your brother is fine, isn't he?" Lian Jun's eyes were also red. His sister and he had lost their parents at a young age, raised single-handedly by their grandmother. When he grew older, he went out to make his way in the world, hoping to save money to bring them both from the town. But unexpectedly, his grandmother passed away. After that, he brought his sister out, and from then on, it was just the two of them relying on each other. Their bond was incomparable to that of ordinary siblings.

"Brother, I missed you." Her burning gaze repeatedly etched her brother's face, as if trying to engrave that image into her heart. More than a month of longing and anxiety had been condensed into a simple sentence at this moment.

"Yes, I know, brother missed you too." Lian Jun had just entered the town when he was bullied. Outside, the world seemed dark, but after entering, he realized that this place was nothing short of hell on earth. But he had to hold on, because his sister was still waiting for them to reunite. No matter how hard it was, he knew he would get through it eventually.

"How are you? Are you doing alright? Has Chaoyang been here?" After Lian Jun came in, he asked his childhood friend Cheng Chaoyang to take care of his sister.

Cheng Chaoyang was his neighbor; they had played together since childhood. Later, when his family moved to City A, he ran into him again while working there, and the two became close once more.

"Yeah, he came. He brought me a lot of things. He heard I was coming to see you, and he wanted to come too, but he had something to do, so he had to postpone it. Today, he asked me to bring you some things." Lian Yu had a good impression of this Brother Cheng. He was a college student, with a sunny and handsome appearance, and he always smiled when he spoke. Fortunately, he would visit her whenever he had time, offering many words of encouragement and helping her a lot; otherwise, she would definitely be even more scared and helpless.

Lian Yu opened the large bag; inside was a white plastic bag and a small yellow box. The girl took out both items and pushed them in front of her brother.

"Brother! All these clothes were bought by Brother Cheng." The girl carefully opened the bag, revealing several brand-new shirts and underwear.

Since everyone wears prison uniforms, outerwear is unnecessary; these clothes are quite practical.

"He bought them?"

Seeing her brother's unpleasant expression, Lian Yu quickly explained, "I just arrived here and didn't know where to buy you clothes, so I asked Brother Cheng. He took me to the mall, and he paid for all the clothes. I didn't want to, but he insisted, so I had no choice but to accept them. Brother, please don't be angry. I won't do it again next time."

"Okay, don't do it again. We've already caused them trouble, and it's not right to take their things back." Lian Jun sighed, and seeing his sister nodding repeatedly, he didn't say anything more.

"Is this food?" Lian Jun looked at the small box again. Judging from its size, it could only hold small snacks.

"Yes, it is. I bought your favorite osmanthus paste." As she spoke, the girl smiled and opened the box, which was full of small pieces of osmanthus paste, squeezed together.

"Brother, this is mung bean flavor, and this is hawthorn flavor..." The girl swallowed hard. They all looked delicious, but she didn't eat any of them and gave them all to her brother.

"Did you buy this yourself?" Lian Jun frowned.

"Yeah, it's not too expensive." Seeing her brother's expression, the girl knew he was worried about spending money.

"It's good that you're here. Don't spend this kind of useless money in the future. I'll be staying here for a while. What if we run out of money if you keep spending like this?"

Lian Yu lowered her head and murmured evasively, "I know."

Actually, she didn't agree with her brother. She was frugal enough on her own. Her brother probably wasn't eating well inside. She would still buy things for him when she came again.

"You'll be staying here alone. Remember to lock the doors and windows at night. Don't open the door if someone knocks..." Lian Jun looked at his sister's frail appearance, feeling extremely worried, and couldn't help but start giving her more instructions.

Lian Yu listened helplessly. She didn't know how many times she had heard these words. When she lived with her grandmother in town, her brother would always nag her about these things on the phone.

The girl nodded repeatedly, replying, "Yes, I know," or "Okay, I'll remember."

Suddenly, a whistle blew, indicating that the meeting was over.

Lian Jun stopped talking. Urged by the soldiers, he reluctantly stood up and walked towards the door, his eyes still fixed on his sister.

Lian Yu couldn't help but reach out to pull him, but halfway through her hand, she saw her brother shake his head at her, and the girl had no choice but to withdraw her arm.

But she still called out tremblingly, "Brother!"

Lian Jun's heart ached again. Before leaving, he turned back and said to her, "Xiao Yu, go back! Be careful on your way!"

Thus, during this meeting, Lian Jun didn't feel anything unusual, but he would later know that he was the only one who was special, allowed to see relatives outside of prison visiting hours.

Xue Jin stood by the window, watching the girl walk out of the room, still clutching the bag in her hand, though it was now empty.

He watched the girl stand there for a while, glancing in his direction as if considering something, before walking towards the prison gate.

Xue Jin guessed that she probably wanted to thank him, but ultimately gave up.

Only after the girl left the prison gates did the man turn around, reach for the phone, and say, "Get the car ready. After you drive out, park it at the gate, and you can go home."

After hanging up, Xue Jin picked up his suit jacket from the leather chair, casually draped it over his arm, and walked towards the door.

If he remembered correctly, the last bus that passed through here had already left at this time.

Chapter Five

Xue Jin stopped the car, turned off the engine, and then took out a cigarette from his suit pocket.

Looking around, this gravel road was somewhat remote. Before the national highway was built, this road was indeed busy, but now very few people passed by.

Diagonally opposite this road was the bus stop for route 3, and the little girl named Lian Yu stood alone next to it.

Xue Jin wasn't worried that she would see him. In fact, this corner was conveniently shaded by several tall, lush trees, and the man was confident that from the girl's perspective, she would definitely not notice his presence.

He held the cigarette between his fingers, leisurely squinting his eyes, and his originally elegant appearance suddenly gained a touch of wickedness. He observed the girl's every move, noticing her constantly gazing into the distance, but cars kept speeding by without a bus in sight.

A few minutes later, the girl took a few steps and reached the bus stop.

Xue Jin leisurely exhaled a puff of smoke, flicked the cigarette butt out the window, then ran his fingers through his dark hair in the rearview mirror before gently turning the key. The familiar roar of the engine ignited a surge of heat within him; yes, he was excited.

Lian Yu clearly saw that the No. 3 bus operated from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The girl was startled and looked up at the setting sun. She didn't have a phone or watch, so while she couldn't determine the exact time, it was likely the No. 3 bus had already stopped running.

What to do? The girl was somewhat unwilling to give up when a woman wearing a brimmed hat and carrying a shoulder bag passed by. She quickly approached her.

"Auntie, excuse me, what time is it?" Lian Yu asked politely.

The woman glanced at her, then raised her wrist—a very ordinary watch: "A little past 5."

The girl's face fell. "Thank you."

"Are you waiting for a bus? There aren't any left at this hour, and it's difficult to get a taxi. You could try looking over there." The woman glanced at the bus stop behind the girl and pointed to a small high-rise building in the distance.

Lian Yu looked in the direction she pointed and estimated the distance to be at least a kilometer. The girl's legs went weak, but she still thanked her again.

Lian Yu moved forward step by step, feeling utterly disheartened.

She didn't have much money on her, just enough for the round trip. She was worried about pickpockets on the bus and hadn't anticipated such an unexpected situation.

The girl was young, and it was inevitable that she wouldn't think things through.

She didn't have enough money. What should she do? Her mind raced through several options, but finally, she could only come up with one: call Brother Cheng.

Having made up her mind, the girl stopped and looked around. There weren't any phone booths or grocery stores near the prison, so she had no choice but to keep walking, thinking there would surely be some up ahead.

Xue Jin drove the car to the girl's side, slowed down, and then pressed a button inside the car. The window slowly rolled down, and he leaned out

, saying, "Lian Yu?" The girl was startled, finding the man's voice somewhat familiar. She stopped and turned around.

"What? It's you, Uncle Warden?"

Xue Jin pulled the car over to the side of the road and stopped. Lian Yu followed from behind the car.

"I just got off work and happened to see you." Xue Jin smiled at the girl. "Are you going home? I can give you a ride."

Lian Yu looked hesitant and gently shook her head. "No need to trouble yourself! I live far away, and there are no more buses running, so I thought I'd look ahead and find a public phone to call my friend."

Xue Jin listened quietly to her finish, then pressed a button in the car, and the passenger door opened. "Get in. I have time today, I'll take you home."

Lian Yu stared at the man and shook her head. "No need, Uncle, I'll call, my friend will come pick me up."

Xue Jin smiled amiably: "What time is it now? This place is so remote, your friend will probably have to wait a long time to get here. It's better if I take you home; it'll be faster and save him the trouble of making the trip."

Lian Yu still felt uneasy hearing him say this. After all, they had only met once, and she really felt bad about troubling him again: "No, thank you!"

The girl was still young and didn't quite understand how to politely refuse. She simply shook her head and started to walk away. Seeing this, Xue Jin frowned unhappily and jumped out of the car.

"Lian Yu, is Uncle a bad person?" Xue Jin's tone was somewhat displeased as he stood in front of the girl, blocking her way.

"No, no." Seeing the man's anger, Lian Yu nervously swallowed.

"Then why are you being so polite? Get in the car." Xue Jin gently grabbed the girl's arm and easily pushed her into the car. Seeing the man's "kindness," Lian Yu didn't dare to resist too much and thus sat in the passenger seat, somewhat confused.

"You live on xx Road in Xuanhua District, right?" Xue Jin restarted the car and simultaneously activated the GPS, inputting xx Road.

Lian Yu was quite surprised: "How did you know I live on xx Road?" Then, as if remembering something, she asked again, "How did you know my name is Lian Yu?"

Xue Jin smiled mysteriously: "What I want to know, I will know."

Seeing the girl's increasing confusion, the man didn't tease her any further: "Your brother's information clearly states that your name is Lian Yu—"

The girl suddenly realized, somewhat awkwardly tugging at her clothes. She was a little shy, so she didn't know what to say to this helpful and enthusiastic uncle.

Xue Jin observed the girl's reaction. She was very innocent, everything was written on her face. The man's heart stirred again. He liked girls like this, pure as a blank sheet of paper, not threatening, very safe, but he imagined it would be troublesome to extricate himself from them.

But he couldn't care less about that now; this girl was very attractive to him.

In public, Xue Jin always presented himself as a refined gentleman. When others treated him to meals, he would accept "gifts" but would never accept "sexual favors."

Therefore, everyone assumed he was a model husband, devoted to his family and career. However, Xue Jin wasn't entirely immune to women; he simply hadn't met anyone he liked.

Reaching into the hidden pocket of his suit jacket, he pulled out a business card and handed it to the girl with one hand: "Little girl, this is my business card. Keep it."

Chapter Six: I Can Be Your Father.

While driving, Xue Jin chatted with the girl, quickly learning about her family situation. It turned out that this little girl had no relatives in City A besides her brother. This stirred his heart, but his face remained expressionless.

"Are you scared living alone now?" Xue Jin asked, feigning concern.

"It's alright. I was very scared at first, but it's much better now. The uncles and aunties around here are very kind to me." In the first few days, Lian Yu would curl up in bed at night, staying awake until the early hours, finally succumbing to exhaustion and drifting off to sleep.

After a while, nothing happened, except for the occasional barking of dogs at night. The girl relaxed her guard and gradually returned to her normal routine.

However, sometimes, when she turned off the lights and closed her eyes, she would reflexively feel uneasy, an instinctive fear of the dark and loneliness.

So, usually, as soon as it got dark, Lian Yu would draw the curtains and turn on the lights. This made her feel at ease. If possible, she really wanted to leave the lights on until dawn, but thinking about the electricity bill, she had to give up.

"You're very brave, a good girl," Xue Jin said with a smile, praising her. At the same time, he quickly raised his right hand from the steering wheel and gently rubbed the girl's head twice.

The girl was caught off guard and suddenly stiffened—the man's large hand was very hot, the heat passing through her scalp and quickly reaching her heart. Lian Yu instinctively felt a little resistant.

The 14-year-old girl, just beginning her physical and mental development, was very sensitive to everything, especially the opposite sex. Even her brother rarely made such intimate gestures, and this unfamiliar uncle made her very uncomfortable.

Lian Yu lowered her head, her small mouth tightly pursed into a line, her long eyelashes trembling nervously; her previous relaxed demeanor was completely gone.

Xue Jin only glanced at her before understanding the girl's feelings, secretly thinking that he might have been too hasty. That was originally a tentative move—it seemed he needed to be more cautious with young girls.

The man had only made the touching motion subconsciously. In the past, when he was pursuing girls, he was always calm and composed, his face showing no emotion, but he could quickly judge the woman's wishes through subtle physical interactions.

He rarely made a move, but once he locked onto his prey, he would definitely succeed in one strike, and the rest was just enjoyment.

But the girl in front of him was a fresh, tender flower, too fragile and beautiful, even her family background was pitiful enough to evoke sympathy, which undoubtedly aroused his sadistic and base desires.

“Lian Yu, Uncle also has a baby, three years younger than you, a boy. He’s usually quite naughty. If only he were half as well-behaved and sensible as you.” Although he spoke with a slight hint of displeasure, the man’s face was kind, clearly not truly scolding his son.

“Really? I can’t believe it, Uncle, you look so young.” Lian Yu lost her parents at a young age, so she was very interested in the man’s fatherly image.

“I’m not young anymore. I’m 35, 21 years older than you. I’m old enough to be your father.” As he spoke, the man turned his head and smiled gently at the girl.

Lian Yu blinked, secretly envying the man’s son for having a family that provided for him and such a high-ranking father.

In the girl’s mind, the man was a high-ranking official, at least much higher than the people in their village—dressed smartly, driving a fancy car, he was truly impressive.

If only she had a father like that? The girl thought about it and couldn’t help but blush, secretly mocking herself for her wishful thinking.

Xue Jin was somewhat pleased. His few words had made the little girl blush. Although he didn't know exactly what she was thinking, it was undoubtedly a good sign.

"Lian Yu, Uncle has never had a daughter. I just felt a liking for you. If you ever need anything, I'll do my best to help you. Don't be shy, okay?"

Lian Yu turned her head to look at the man driving. His profile was sharp and clean, giving a very comfortable feeling. At this moment, the girl completely forgot her previous aversion to the man, only feeling that her uncle was truly a good person.

"Okay, thank you," the girl murmured softly, clearly still a little shy.

Xue Jin shifted his gaze from the road ahead to the girl's face, gently curving his lips into a smile: "Don't be shy. You can think of me as your uncle, or even your father."

Lian Yu turned her head in surprise, her heart warmed. Even though he was a stranger, he had given her immense comfort. For a moment, the girl felt very lucky.

"Uncle, you're so kind to me. I'm troubling you so much," the little girl awkwardly expressed her feelings.

Hearing this, Xue Jin laughed heartily, "Silly child, Uncle is much more capable than you think. Helping you is nothing, not a trouble at all."

Lian Yu smiled shyly and nodded slightly.

Xue Jin unconsciously sped up, feeling the road ahead was incredibly wide. He narrowed his eyes, a glint of light slowly appearing in them.

Chapter Seven: The Mind of a Bad Man.

Lian Yu lived in a small courtyard. In fact, apart from a few three- or four-story buildings, the entire area consisted of single-story houses—a typical shantytown.

Xue Jin slowed down, looking around as he asked, "Are we almost there?"

This was his first time here. He had only passed through once or twice before, and only saw that the place was barren, densely populated, and the houses were very simple, mostly makeshift extensions of small storage sheds. It wasn't until he went inside that he realized how crowded it was, with houses packed tightly together, and the roads were incredibly narrow. His large jeep, parked on the road, couldn't even let a small van pass.

"Okay, almost there. See that red gate? That's it." Xue Jin looked in the direction the girl pointed, and sure enough, there was one house that looked different—a red iron gate.

The car swayed a few steps before stopping in front of the house.

Through the iron gate, Xue Jin saw that the yard wasn't very large, but it was clean and tidy. The main house had two rooms, and two small storage sheds were built right next to the gate and the thin courtyard wall.

"This is it." Lian Yu tightened her grip on the bag.

"Looks nice. Where do you live?" Xue Jin could see clearly that there seemed to be someone in the main house, and white smoke was billowing from the chimney of the storage shed on the right, indicating a fire was being lit.

"Then the girl probably lives in the room on the left.

" "This one," the girl pointed to the small bungalow on the left.

The man nodded, his eyes like searchlights trying to see into the room, but due to the light and angle, he couldn't see anything.

"Uncle, thank you, I'm going back now," Lian Yu said, reaching for the car door.

"Wait..." The man's words made her stop, and she turned to look at him.

"Lian Yu, it's getting late. You haven't eaten yet, have you? Uncle hasn't either. How about this, you put your things back, and Uncle will treat you to a meal, okay?" Xue Jin really wanted to go in and see where the girl lived, but the little guy didn't seem to have that intention. Having just met his new prey, he was inevitably a little excited and lingering, so the man suggested treating the girl to something to eat.

Lian Yu blinked, her long, thick eyelashes tinged with a thin layer of gold in the sunset, indescribably beautiful. Xue Jin watched her silently, his breathing becoming heavy and deep.

“No, that wouldn’t be appropriate.” Lian Yu didn’t want him to treat her; it was their first meeting, but she didn’t know how to refuse. The man’s words were sincere.

“I have homework!” The girl gently tugged at the bag, the reason that came out of her

mouth sounding somewhat weak even to herself. The man chuckled softly, but there was no hint of sarcasm in it.

“A meal won’t take long. Can I take you back in 40 minutes?” Xue Jin showed his gentle side, something he was very good at. He was always willing to put in the effort for women he particularly liked.

The girl bit her lip, feeling that there seemed to be no reason to refuse. She couldn’t very well say ‘no,’ even though she was young, she still understood basic social etiquette.

Lian Yu lifted her long eyelashes, still hesitant in her eyes. Before she could speak, the man pressed the electronic remote key, and with a ‘click,’ unlocked her side of the car door.

"Go on, I'll wait for you. We'll grab something nearby, it'll be quick, won't interfere with your homework." Xue Jin smiled, his gaze gentle and polite, appearing natural and friendly.

The girl hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded, pushed open the car door, and got out.

Her figure was nimble, her ponytail swaying slightly, the ends of her hair fluttering in the breeze, dazzlingly beautiful, and the eye-catching red hair tie was particularly alluring.

Xue Jin took a deep breath, took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, then took out his phone and dialed a number.

A few seconds later, a familiar voice came from the other end.

"Son? Is your mother home?"

"No, she's probably too busy at the shop, she hasn't finished work yet. Dad, when are you coming home? I'm a little hungry!" Xue Jin's wife was the daughter of a high-ranking official, and now ran a large beauty salon, a very successful business, and of course, she was very busy.

The two were in a free-love relationship, and over the years, his father-in-law had truly treated him well, helping him a great deal in his career. Otherwise, with his qualifications, it would have been difficult to climb to this position at

his age. "Dad's busy today too, he might be home late. If you're hungry, go to my drawer and get some money to eat out. Don't go hungry." Xue Jin had always doted on his son; a mistress was just like clothes to him—something to do in his spare time. He always came home on time after work unless he had important engagements. But this time, the man lied.

"Okay, but don't drink too much!" the young man muttered discontentedly.

"Okay, I know. Remember to do your homework; I'll check it when I get back." Hearing the reply, the man hung up. Just then, the girl walked out of the yard.

As soon as Lian Yu got into the car, the man smelled a pleasant fragrance, seemingly the scent of soap.

“Let’s look around as we go. Do you have a favorite dish? Sichuan, Cantonese, Northeastern, or our local cuisine?” The girl’s bangs were still damp with water droplets. Her freshly washed face was smooth and clean, and even the unpleasant sallow complexion seemed to have faded.

“Anything is fine with me.” The girl answered obediently, her eyes half-closed.

“Then let’s have Sichuan food. I haven’t had boiled fish in a month!” Xue Jin made the decision with a smile, but then immediately realized something. He turned to the girl and asked, “Can you eat spicy food?”

Chapter Eight: A Little H of Adultery

“Director Song, you’ve arrived!”

After the waitress’s crisp and polite voice, a man walked in from the other side of the door—in his thirties, dressed casually, with a fairly regular face. Large sunglasses almost covered half of his face, making it impossible to see his features.

Bai Sisi turned her head and smiled slightly at the man, who returned a slight smile. Then she followed the waitress to the private room upstairs.

Bai Sisi put down the hairdryer and said to the waitress beside her, "Minmin, the customer is in your care."

Then she loosened her skirt sash, leaned down gently, and whispered in the customer's ear, "Sister Yu, an old friend has arrived. I have to go see him. I'm so sorry."

The woman, her eyes tightly closed, didn't even twitch her eyelids, only nodding slightly.

Bai Sisi loosened her skirt sash, straightened her clothes, and walked towards the stairs—although she was the owner of this beauty salon, she was very diligent.

Because of her excellent skills, she had several important clients who always specifically requested her to do their hair.

Who were these people? Wives of this official and that official, mistresses of this woman and that woman—in other words, all influential and wealthy individuals.

So she had to serve them, but no one would turn down money, so she didn't feel wronged at all; in fact, she was quite pleased. Without these people, the shop's profits would suffer greatly.

The waitress led the man to a private room and then turned and left.

Director Song pushed open the door and entered. The room wasn't large, only about six or seven square meters. In the center was a specially made single bed with a leather-covered headboard. Next to it was a sink, and above the sink was a water heater.

As dusk approached, the man reached out and pressed the light switch on the wall, intending to check if the sheets were clean. Seeing their dazzling whiteness, he nodded in satisfaction.

Near the door was a large 42-inch television, next to which was a clothes rack. Director Song took off his shirt, then reached for his pants, but then seemed to remember something, smiled mischievously, and stopped. He then lay down on the single bed, picked up the remote control, and leisurely watched television.

A moment later, there was a knock at the door. The man's face lit up with joy: "Come in."

Bai Sisi walked in with a smile. She wore a light blue work dress, simple in style, with two large slanted pockets for tools such as scissors and combs.

"Director Song, what a rare guest! What brings you here today?" The woman's voice was pleasant, and her steps were light. She quickly reached the man.

The man's eyes were fixed on her with a lecherous gaze—the woman had bright eyes, thin brown eyeliner, and light makeup that blended seamlessly with her skin tone, making it difficult to tell she was wearing makeup. But the effect was excellent; her already fair skin appeared even more translucent.

Undoubtedly, this woman was beautiful, with a touch of mature charm—exactly the kind of woman the man craved.

"Hehe..." Director Song's mouth was practically watering. He chuckled dryly, "I miss you so much, but I've been too busy lately and haven't had a chance to come see you."

Then, his tone shifted, "Sisi, we've known each other for a long time, so you don't have to be so polite."

The woman smiled charmingly, standing at the head of the bed, her eyelashes lowered as she looked at him—she and this Song Li had known each other since childhood, both living in the military compound.

This guy had been pursuing her since junior high, all the way until college graduation, but he hadn't succeeded. Did she not like him? Not really, it was just bad luck. Who told her to meet Xue Jin!

Thinking of this, the woman's expression became somewhat dazed: that man was very passionate when he pursued her, saying many sweet words. After marriage, he treated her fairly well, but she always felt something was missing!

Every day was the same, bland and without passion, just the responsibilities of a married couple.

For example, he wouldn't take her on trips or buy her things to make her happy. What bothered her even more was that at night, they had to share separate blankets.

She felt no warmth or intimacy from the physical intimacy of a normal married couple at night; instead, she felt neglected. So she became promiscuous, seeking out several men outside the marriage, and surprisingly, it felt quite good.

Her old friend in front of her was her new lover; she felt happy and cared for by him.

Suddenly, her hand tightened—it was the man's outstretched hand, kneading her small hand.

"Okay, then, Brother Song, would you like it dry-cleaned, Hong Kong-style, or Thai-style?" The woman gently patted his hand, trying to soothe him, and

then pulled her delicate hand away.

"Don't disturb my work," Bai Sisi said coquettishly, a slight smile playing on her lips.

"Serving my desires is your job, my dear sister, I've missed you so much." The man, mistaking her flirting, wrapped his large arm around her slender waist, and after a gasp from the woman, flipped her over and pinned her to the bed. The woman

struggled symbolically for a few moments, but her clothes were quickly stripped off by the man.

In an instant, the small room became hot, and the small single bed trembled violently, almost bursting, during their intense struggle.

Afterwards, the man considerately took the showerhead and cleaned the woman, who was now a lump of mud in satisfaction.

"Comfortable, wasn't it?" Director Song felt quite proud seeing the woman's 'miserable state'.

Bai Sisi nodded weakly, then lazily raised her eyelids: "Brother Song, you'll have to put in a lot of effort with my business license."

Who was Director Song?

He was the head of the Industry and Commerce Bureau. If it weren't for this connection, Bai Sisi wouldn't be so amiable to him, letting him have his way. She often needed his help, like with adding items to her shop—his word carried weight.

"Don't worry, my good sister, I'll get it done for you tomorrow." The man kissed her lips, his hand then caressing her shapely body.

"..."

Chapter Nine: Couple's Little H Xue

Jin didn't return home until 8:30. The living room light was on.

He tossed his keys onto the small decorative table next to the entryway, casually placing his leather briefcase on it as well—the table wasn't large, just for storing frequently used small items.

Taking off his leather shoes and changing into slippers, Xue Jin unbuttoned his shirt collar, let out a soft sigh, and headed towards his son's room.

It was already 7:30 after having dinner with Lian Yu, and the drive home had taken a full hour. He'd walked from the west side of the city to the east; how long had it been since he'd driven for such a long time?

Xue Jin couldn't remember. He'd been the director for over two years, and after getting a personal driver, he'd become too lazy to touch the steering wheel.

This ordeal—driving the girl home, taking about an hour, and then another hour back to his own place—was truly exhausting.

However, it was all worth it. After the meal, the little girl named Lian Yu seemed much closer to him, repeatedly calling out as she left, "Uncle, drive carefully on the road."

Xue Jin smiled, patted his slightly sore arm, gently knocked on his son's door, and went in.

The little boy's features resembled his father's. Hearing the voice, he turned around and said, "Dad, you're back."

"Yeah, I'm exhausted. I was busy until late. How's your homework going?" Hearing this, the little boy quickly turned down the TV volume and got out of bed.

Xue Jin leaned back on his son's single bed and picked up the remote control.

"Dad, this is today's homework. I finished it in half an hour, and then I watched TV." Although Xue Jin doted on his son, he didn't slack off on his education.

From first grade, he had taken care of all his homework—including tutoring and checking it.

Bai Sisi was very satisfied with this. Most women, after getting married, had to take care of their husbands and children after finishing their work, but what about her? She didn't have to worry about either of these things, so she could focus on her career. For a time, she was the envy of young and old alike, with everyone praising Xue Jin as a good husband, both openly and secretly.

The little boy's tone carried a hint of pride, as if he were trying to curry favor.

Xue Jin smiled faintly, took his son's workbook, and checked the arithmetic first. After only a few glances, he immediately found two mistakes.

One was a writing error; there was a typo in the copied word problem.

The second was an arithmetic error; it was a mixed arithmetic problem, and after four equations, the answer at the end was incorrect.

The little boy looked at the spot his father had pointed to on the workbook, blushing slightly, but still feeling it wasn't a big deal: "Dad, it's just that I was too careless,"

he said lightly, seemingly unaware of the fatal flaw of such carelessness.

"Careless? If you don't pay attention normally, you'll make even more mistakes during exams," Xue Jin frowned slightly, thinking this was just a child's excuse.

"I... I rarely make mistakes like this," the little boy protested.

"Then why did you make one today? Were you in a hurry to watch TV, thinking you could relax since I wasn't back?" Xue Jin's tone was slightly raised, tinged with anger.

"..." The little boy, feeling hurt, lowered his head and remained silent.

Xue Jin glared at him, then picked up his Chinese homework—

the man valued his son highly, hoping he would amount to something great, so he wasn't just going through the motions when strictness was needed.

Fortunately, the little boy didn't make any mistakes in his Chinese homework; he was only punished with a math test. If he got a perfect score, he was allowed to sleep; if he continued to make low-level mistakes, then... he would have to do the test again until he passed.

At ten o'clock, Xue Jin lay in bed, looking at the quote in his hand—a renovation budget prepared by Jinbu Company for a client.

He valued this budget highly; he had just printed it from his email.

Jinbu Decoration Company was originally started by his old classmate, Ding Bu, but due to its late start and limited connections, it had never really taken off.

In Ding Bu's own words, it was barely scraping by, with a monthly turnover of ten to twenty thousand yuan, which, after deducting employee wages, was enough to keep the company afloat.

By chance, Xue Jin's prison-affiliated guesthouse was going to be upgraded into a two-star hotel to increase profits.

Xue Jin remembered his old classmate, and they chatted amiably. Since they were acquaintances, it would be easy to pull some strings.

So, the entire project was contracted to Ding Bu, and Xue Jin took a cut, receiving a 400,000 yuan kickback. Who was Xue Jin? He was incredibly shrewd. Seeing how lucrative this business was, he frequently visited his father-in-law's house, inquiring about any good construction projects the army had, which he then secured, subcontracting all the work to Ding Bu and secretly collecting kickbacks.

In this way, he amassed a considerable fortune, while Ding Bu's company experienced a turnaround. After some thought, he decided to secretly gift half of the company's shares to Xue Jin.

Why secretly? To avoid unnecessary trouble. After all, he was a government official; if he were to engage in business, he would inevitably face gossip.

Xue Jin symbolically refused twice, but finally accepted without hesitation. He had connections, he had the skills; who wouldn't be happy to partner up and make big money?

Hearing the door open, Xue Jin knew Bai Sisi had returned. A few minutes later, the woman entered the bedroom.

"Have you eaten?" Xue Jin asked without looking up, his tone devoid of emotion, a mere greeting, neither warm nor cold.

"Yes, I have. What are you looking at?" Bai Sisi took off her clothes and retrieved her pajamas from the closet.

"A contract, a small case, but quite tricky." Xue Jin answered casually, flipping through the documents in his hand. In reality, this was not the truth.

He never told his woman the truth about company matters. For example, the budget he had was at least 3 million, or even more.

"Oh, I'm going to take a shower first." Bai Sisi asked casually, then walked towards the bathroom with little interest.

When she returned to the bedroom after showering, Xue Jin had already finished his work, turned off the overhead light, leaving only a small nightlight on the bedside table.

Xue Jin watched as Bai Sisi tossed aside the towel, her hair still half-wet, and got into bed.

Bathed in the soft, orange light, a subtle ambiguity filled the room. Xue Jin looked at his wife—a woman in her early thirties, well-maintained, appearing to be only about 25.

Her cleansed skin had a faint fragrance, as if she had applied lotion. He sniffed, inhaling deeply, and his heart skipped a beat. The scent was somewhat similar to Lian Yu's, and he felt a surge of heat.

How long had it been since he last touched her? A month? Xue Jin wondered to himself—he wasn't lacking in women, but he felt little interest in the beautiful young woman before him.

He had suspected her infidelity from the beginning, because he was 'familiar' with one of the shop assistants in her store, and he knew everything she had done.

He simply didn't want to expose her. He wasn't afraid of divorce, because he had no feelings for her; he was just using her. Her father was currently at the height of his power, and if Xue Jin wanted to succeed, he would have to rely heavily on him.

So, the man silently endured it. June 4th, Chapter Nine: Couple's Little H Scene ( Part 2)

"Honey, I'm a little tired today," Bai Sisi mumbled. In fact, she had made love to Lao Song twice that afternoon, and her body was still weak and sore.

Xue Jin's eyes gleamed, and a slight smirk played on his lips, his mockery obvious, though Bai Sisi couldn't see it.

"Tired? Then don't move, I'll do it." The man's desire was already ignited; he wasn't about to give up so easily.

Bai Sisi felt helpless and a little guilty, letting him do as he pleased. Soon, she was down to her underwear. She rolled over, lying flat, making it easier for Xue Jin to move.

Xue Jin's movements on the bed were impeccable. Every caress was precise and efficient, always hitting the mark immediately. Like now, kneading her nipples, his hands seemed electrified, instantly sending a tingling sensation through Bai Sisi's chest.

"Ah...oh..." The woman's body was tired, but the cells in that area were stirring.

The man's touch was perfectly controlled; a few light presses and instantly, that secret peach garden transformed from a dry path into a ditch.

"Oh, oh, ah..." Bai Sisi's lower abdomen warmed. She had to admit, her husband was a master of seduction, but when had this started?

In the first few years of their marriage, his technique wasn't so refined.

But now, whenever he touched her, she couldn't help but want more; the pleasurable feeling was impossible to suppress. His technique was like a driver with decades of experience, perfectly adept at shifting gears.

Even in the dark, the man could instinctively bring her to ecstasy.

If it weren't for the fact that he never made inappropriate phone calls or lingered outside without reason, she would have suspected he had many women outside.

To have such bedroom skills without having slept with hundreds of women was truly rare—his touches were incredibly precise, every touch a stimulant.

Seeing that the woman was completely wet, Xue Jin turned to get a condom from the bedside drawer, just as he heard the woman's giggling laughter.

"What are you laughing at?"

Bai Sisi shook her head, then laughed a few more times. "Nothing, I just think you're amazing."

Xue Jin turned around, tearing at the condom as he laughed. "Amazing? There's something even more amazing, you've had your share of enjoyment."

He then used the condom's opening to easily slip his large member inside.

He pounced on the laughing woman, pulled down her panties, and then grabbed a blanket to cover himself.

Most of the woman's calves were still exposed, and the blanket bobbed back and forth, eliciting a scream from her.

"Haha, oh... Xue Jin, you're inhuman..." the woman cried out angrily, cursing and laughing, finally fading into soft, wanton moans.

Chapter Ten:

The rising sun slowly broke through the darkness, the sky's hues changing every second, until its entire face leaped above the horizon. In

the height of summer, only the morning sun was truly pleasant.

A bright red curtain covered the only glass window in the house, allowing dappled sunlight to filter through a few small holes and cast irregularly shaped patches of light on the blue floor tiles.

As the light grew brighter, the girl's thick eyelashes fluttered twice, and the next moment, her eyelids lifted slightly, revealing a grayish-blue gleam.

Lian Yu covered her mouth with her hand, gave a delicate yawn, then stretched her arms lazily, letting out a few sweet, coquettish hums.

An alarm clock sat on the stool beside the bed; the girl glanced at it—6:30.

Lian Yu's class started at 8:00, and the school wasn't too far from her home, only a twenty-minute walk, so she had plenty of time to laze in bed a little longer.

She closed her eyes, intending to rest a little longer, but lacking the energy, she sat up five minutes later, grabbed her clothes from the foot of the bed, and put them on one by one.

With a 'whoosh,' Lian Yu pulled back the curtains; the warm sunlight felt comfortable on her face, and she gently curved her lips into a smile—good weather often puts one in a good mood all day.

The small storage room was divided into two parts: a bedroom and a kitchen, but these two parts were separated by only one wall, without even a door; it was very simple.

Lian Yu turned on the tap, filled a basin halfway with water, dipped her hands into it, scooped up a small amount, splashed it on her face a few times, then took the soap from the side and rubbed it evenly on her face before washing it clean.

After washing her face, she rinsed her mouth but didn't brush her teeth, because she had already brushed them yesterday. To save money on toothpaste, she only brushed her teeth once a day, and that was before going to bed.

Neatly tying her hair into a ponytail, the girl pondered what to have for breakfast. Opening the cupboard, she found three takeout containers, two steamed buns, and some pickled vegetables.

Lian Yu licked her lips.

The containers contained pumpkin pancakes and deep-fried ribbonfish—leftovers from dinner Uncle Xue had treated her to the previous night. He had had them packed up so she could take them home, and although she felt bad, he'd insisted on giving them to her.

The girl stared at the containers for a moment, then finally took out only a hard steamed bun—she'd save the good stuff for later.

Thinking this, Lian Yu couldn't help but savor the sweetness of the pumpkin pancakes. She smiled and added a ladle of water to the small pot…

As steam rose, Lian Yu's breakfast was ready. She put down her textbook, stood up from the small stool, and opened the pot lid.

After taking out the steamed buns, she poured the boiling water into the thermos.

Lian Yu took some pickled vegetables and placed them on the cupboard along with the warmed steamed buns—to use as a table. Then she stood aside, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat.

After finishing her meal, the girl cleaned up the dishes and tidied up the room briefly before heading out to school.

Lian Yu's school was also a row of single-story buildings, neatly arranged in two opposite rows—because it was a private middle school, teaching resources were limited, so the school environment wasn't very good.

Most of the students here were children of farmers, and they were generally quite simple and honest, but there were exceptions.

Lian Yu was a transfer student from another place, an even more impoverished area. The junior high school there was small and dilapidated, and there were very few teachers, all of whom had decades of teaching experience, the oldest being over 60. Their ideas and teaching methods were outdated, so naturally, her grades were very poor.

When she first arrived, everyone saw that she was thin and small, dressed in a rustic way, and had poor academic performance. After two tests, she was among the last few in her class. For a time, her classmates ostracized her; the girls didn't like to play with her, and the boys ignored her even more.

Especially when it came to assigning cleaning duties, no one wanted to be in a group with her. In the end, a boy named Guo Jia took her on.

But this wasn't out of kindness; a few days later, Lian Yu discovered it.

Guo Jia, as the group leader, assigned her all the dirtiest and most tiring tasks, and Lian Yu was also responsible for locking the door—everyone else left, leaving her to deal with the duty students' inspections. Only after passing the inspection could she leave; otherwise, she had to clean again.

Lian Yu felt wronged, but she said nothing, and dared not resist or complain. It wasn't that she was inherently weak, but that she understood her situation very well.

She was now destitute and alone; she was already content to live and study peacefully. What did doing more work matter? Back in the countryside, every autumn harvest, she would go to the fields with the adults; that farm work was much more tiring than sweeping or carrying water.

The girl immersed herself in books, eagerly awaiting her brother's return. Days passed, and Lian Yu's grades slowly improved…

In the monotonous and dull life, Lian Yu wasn't without hope. Occasionally, she would think of her brother Cheng, the only person she felt close to in this unfamiliar city.

Chapter Eleven:

Last Saturday , Lian Yu had the day off.

After breakfast, she placed a basin full of water in the sun. Soon, the water warmed up under the sunlight.

Lian Yu took out a few dirty clothes, soaked them in the water, and added laundry detergent.

After wiping her hands, the girl was about to go inside to read when she suddenly saw her landlady, Aunt Zhang, who lived in the main house, walking towards her with a few clothes in her hands.

"Aunt Zhang!" Lian Yu greeted her with a smile. The landlady's family consisted of three people—two adults worked at the market, having regular jobs, while their only daughter was studying at a university in another city.

“Lian Yu, how many times have I told you? You only have a few clothes. Just take them to me, and I'll spin them in the washing machine for you. Why bother washing them yourself?” The landlady looked at the clothes in the basin and couldn't help but scold the girl.

Aunt Zhang looked at the thin girl and thought the child was pitiful. She was only 14 years old, and her only relative was in prison. She also had children, so she felt very sorry for her.

Lian Yu pursed her lips and shook her head: “I appreciate your kindness, but washing clothes isn't tiring. I can do it myself.”

“You’re always so formal and reserved.” The landlady smiled helplessly, then gently took the girl’s small hand: “Come on, let’s go inside and talk.”

The two stepped over the threshold one after the other.

Lian Yu took a clean rag and wiped it on the hardwood chair: “Aunt Zhang, please sit here.”

The landlady nodded and sat down without ceremony. She looked around—the house looked exactly the same as when it was rented out.

Even the chairs, cabinets, and the bed remained in the same position, and of course, no new furniture was added.

Lian Yu poured a glass of water from the thermos and placed it in front of the woman: "Auntie, have some water."

The landlady responded, picked up the glass, took a sip, and then looked at the girl, saying, "Xiao Yu, while I was tidying up today, I happened to find a few of Xiao Yue's old clothes."

As she spoke, the woman placed the neatly folded clothes on the nearest bedside table, then picked up the top coat, pinched its shoulders, and gently shook it, causing the coat to unfold.

"See? It's very new. Xiao Yue can't wear it anymore, and it's a waste to throw it away. I thought it might fit you, so I brought it over for you." Aunt Zhang said, holding the coat up to the girl.

Lian Yu, sitting next to her on the edge of the bed, looked somewhat uncomfortable.

"No, I can't take it." Lian Yu waved her hand, trying to push the clothes back onto the bed, but before she could even touch them, the landlady grabbed her hand.

"Do you dislike these clothes?" The landlady knew the girl was shy, but she meant well. The clothes were just sitting there; even if she could sell them, they wouldn't be worth much. It was better to give them to someone who needed them.

Lian Yu quickly shook her head. "No, I don't have any. I have clothes to wear, so I won't trouble you."

She was still growing, and she didn't have many clothes left. No matter how difficult things were, she didn't want to accept charity.

She didn't want people to look at her differently, whether good or bad; it would be embarrassing for her—she didn't want to be different.

"Xiao Yu, it's no trouble at all. Don't be so polite with your auntie, okay?" Afraid of hurting the girl's pride, the landlady turned and walked out.

Lian Yu picked up the clothes from the bed and wanted to chase after her, but after only a few steps, she stopped in her tracks under the landlady's critical gaze—what to do? Aunt Zhang seemed about to get angry.

The girl thought to herself, and suddenly the clothes felt like a hot potato; she couldn't decide whether to keep them or not.

Seeing the girl standing there stunned, the landlord's expression changed, and he chuckled, "Keep it, or I'll really get angry!"

Before Lian Yu could react, that gentle smile vanished from her sight. The girl, holding the clothes, stood there for a while, finally able to helplessly purse her lips.

Chapter Eleven: Brother Cheng. At

midday, the sun was very strong. Lian Yu sat in the shade, vigorously scrubbing the clothes, when suddenly she heard a series of bicycle bells, slowly approaching.

The girl's heart skipped a beat, and she stared blankly at the gate. A moment later, a familiar figure appeared outside.

"Brother Cheng!" Lian Yu jumped up from the small stool, hastily wiped her wet hands on her clothes, and quickly ran over.

The tall boy parked his bicycle outside the gate and smiled at the girl who was running towards him.

"Xiaoyu, how have you been lately?"

Several willow trees stood in front of the courtyard, rustling softly in the breeze. The man beside the trees had a clean-cut face and was somewhat thin. Like the trees beside him, he was very tall, but his light weight made him appear somewhat ethereal.

The girl, however, seemed oblivious to this. In her heart, Brother Cheng was perfect. He had always excelled in his studies, and everyone in the village praised his intelligence. Because of her brother, Lianyu was close to him, which deepened her admiration.

"I'm fine, Brother Cheng. Please come in and sit down." Lianyu's face was slightly flushed as she stood there, gazing intently at him. Her heart pounded like a deer's, faster and louder with each beat.

Until the man said, "No need, I just happened to be passing by and stopped by to see you."

Lianyu stiffened. All her enthusiasm vanished as if doused with cold water. She mumbled an "Oh."

"Is it almost time for the prison visit?" Cheng Chaoyang noticed the girl's disappointment but didn't take it to heart. He understood—she was still young, and that infatuation was just the stirrings of youth, fleeting and easily forgotten. So he didn't dwell on it, treating her only as a younger sister.

On the other hand, he felt deep pity for Lian Yu. Such a well-behaved girl had suffered such a setback; he couldn't help but be moved, whether as a stranger or a familiar friend from the same hometown.

Therefore, he wanted to take care of her as much as possible, buying her daily necessities every now and then.

"Yes, the day after tomorrow," Lian Yu replied softly.

The man nodded: "The day after tomorrow, I'll pick you up, we'll go together."

Cheng Chaoyang had originally planned to go last time, but was delayed by school matters—he was about to graduate, and the day coincided with the school's job fair, so he had to miss it.

“Okay!” Lian Yu paused, remembering her brother’s instructions: “Brother Cheng, go ahead! But don’t buy anything else, or he’ll be upset.”

The man smiled dismissively: “We’ll see!”

Then he turned and took a large bag from the bicycle basket, which was full of things. Lian Yu took a step back and shook her head vigorously.

“No, I can’t take it. I haven’t finished using the things you bought last time!” The girl refused the man’s offer with a serious expression.

“Xiao Yu, I’ve already bought it. Do you want me to take it back?” Cheng Chaoyang pretended to be unhappy.

“But, but brother will scold me.” Lian Yu’s hands were behind her back, and her fingers were almost red from rubbing them.

The man pouted, with a hint of childishness: “You’re so silly. Just don’t tell him. If he really starts swearing, tell me, and I’ll talk to him.”

Then, without saying a word, he grabbed the girl’s small hand and shoved the large bag of things into her hand.

"Okay, here you go. I have something to do, so I'll be going now. I'll pick you up from school the day after tomorrow at noon." With that, the man walked to his bicycle and gently pedaled.

"You...you're leaving..." Lian Yu watched him get on the bike, feeling an indescribable sadness.

"Yeah, I'm leaving. You can go in too. Goodbye." Cheng Chaoyang gave her a gentle smile, then lightly pedaled, disappearing into the distance amidst the girl's reluctant gaze.

"Goodbye!" Only after she could no longer see his figure did Lian Yu turn away dejectedly.

Chapter Twelve

The next morning, Xue Jin got up early, bought breakfast outside, ate with his son, and then returned to the master bedroom to change clothes, preparing to go to work and drop his son off at school on the way.

He opened the door and saw Bai Sisi lying on her side, fast asleep on the bed. He couldn't help but purse his lips—she had gotten off work very late yesterday, coming home exhausted, like a lump of dough. He knew what she had done.

Too lazy to look a second time, Xue Jin turned around, opened the wardrobe, and picked out a white uniform from among the many clothes.

He slipped his hands into the sleeves, stood in front of the dressing mirror, and calmly adjusted his collar, his unhurried demeanor as if crafting a work of art.

The trousers were perfectly creased; the somewhat stiff business attire, due to the man's tall and upright figure, gave him a somewhat dashing appearance. After examining himself in the mirror for a while, Xue Jin noticed his hair was a bit messy. He quickly grabbed some hair oil and carefully applied it. Looking at his short, dark, shiny hair, the man nodded in satisfaction to the handsome man in the mirror.

Since last night, Xue Jin had been very excited because he had two important things to do tomorrow: first, to select outstanding cadres; and second, to meet the young girl he had his eye on.

Amidst the excitement, the man was also a little apprehensive, secretly wondering how to get the girl. She was so naive, knowing nothing, pure but still like an unripe melon—it would take some effort.

Even so, Xue Jin still felt it was worth it. Just thinking about the girl's bright, sparkling eyes and slender figure made his blood boil.

After all, it had been a long time since he'd encountered a prey with such a conquering spirit.

He tossed and turned in bed for a long time before finally drifting off to sleep, but when he opened his eyes the next day, he felt surprisingly refreshed. He thought to himself, "A happy occasion makes one feel refreshed; it seems today's events will go smoothly."

His white uniform was quite special; it was a custom-made suit for the prison warden. Everyone else wore blue or gray uniforms, but his was pure white—a symbol of his status.

A brown-gray Toyota Jeep came to a smooth stop in front of the office building.

Xue Jin, briefcase tucked under his arm, stepped out of the car and strode into the building. The staff members who passed him greeted him respectfully, but their eyes betrayed barely concealed surprise.

Xue Jin was very casual about clothes; as long as it was comfortable, he didn't care what he wore. But today, he was in high spirits and put on his uniform, which he rarely wore. Although he looked quite handsome, it aroused everyone's speculation.

Was some leader coming to inspect the work? Or was the warden attending some formal and important occasion?

Xue Jin nodded and smiled in response to them—he had just returned from the Youth League Committee, and things there were almost done. Judging from their enthusiastic reception, he knew his chances were high.

He went upstairs with a beaming smile, pushed open the office door, and subconsciously glanced at his watch. It was almost 1 PM. Xue Jin quickly picked up the phone and dialed a number. The

call was answered quickly: "Old Li, has Lian Jun been visited today?"

In this small area of the prison, Xue Jin was the one in charge, so he ordered people around like they were his servants.

"Warden, let me check for you, just a moment." Old Li still remembered Lian Jun; after so many years in the job, he was good at reading people.

Xue Jin rarely cared about prisoners; during his tenure, there were only a handful.

The man lit a cigarette and waited leisurely. After a while, a message came from the other end: "Yes, it was her sister who applied."

Nodding silently, the man added, "Let them meet in a separate meeting room."

Old Li agreed without batting an eye. As a subordinate, he always obeyed his superior's orders unconditionally, which was one of the reasons he had remained deputy director for so long.

After hanging up the phone, Xue Jin went to the window, gazing at the prison's tall iron gates, lost in thought for a moment. Only after finishing his cigarette did he reach into his pocket, intending to pull out his cigarette case.

Unexpectedly, he rummaged through the wrong pocket and touched a slightly cool object.

It was a small, silver-white mobile phone, exquisitely crafted and quite cute. The shop assistant enthusiastically recommended it, saying it sold very well and was suitable for girls.

Xue Jin smiled. He rarely bought gifts for his lovers. His partners were generally very understanding and wouldn't ask for anything. He always preferred obedient girls, though sometimes he misjudged them. Usually, he would just give a few perfunctory words and never contact them again.

In short, he dumped them!

But Lian Yu was different. He desperately wanted her, so he was willing to spend time and money to get close to her.

Xue Jin fiddled with his phone while glancing towards the front door. Time slowly passed, and finally he saw the slender figure.

The composure and calmness on the man's face were slowly replaced by gloom. He narrowed his deep black eyes, his gaze coldly fixed on the boy beside the girl.

Who was that?

Lian Yu was wearing a white dress with blue polka dots today, which looked very elegant from a distance, while the tall boy beside her was dressed casually, in jeans and a t-shirt.

Although they were far apart, Xue Jin could see the two talking side by side, seemingly very 'intimate'.

The man, who was always very sensitive to relationships between men and women, felt a pang of jealousy at this moment.

Xue Jin's eyes twitched slightly, showing how tense his eyelids were. He watched the two disappear together and enter the room before he looked away.

Frustrated, he took out his cigarette case, pulled one out, lit it, and stared blankly out the empty window for a while. Suddenly, the man whirled around and slammed his phone against the wall.

With a muffled thud, the brand-new phone was smashed to pieces.

Through the swirling smoke, the man's face was somewhat blurred. He stared blankly ahead, then nodded silently after a long while, as if making a decision. His expression was indescribably cold and eerie.

Chapter Fourteen: Prison Disturbance .

The textured sound of leather shoes striking the hard cement floor silenced the previously noisy cell. They knew someone was coming to inspect.

"7505, come out!" A stern-faced prison officer stood before cell number 6.

"..." Everyone's eyes focused on Lian Jun. His previously lowered head stiffly lifted, unsure if he had heard correctly.

"Pack your things and come with me." The prison officer held a straight cane, tapping it lightly on his palm with a touch of suave nonchalance.

Looking him in the eye, Lian Jun knew he was being addressed.

Cell number 6 housed four other inmates, none of them particularly heinous. They were kind to the newcomer, Lian Jun, showing no signs of bullying.

This was the only solace in Lian Jun's monotonous prison life—when he first arrived, he was terrified by the nightly screams, the sounds of wild animals mating in the darkness.

Later, he gradually understood, and was also grateful—there were no women in the prison, and male-on-male sex seemed to be the most common form of entertainment. He knew he was good-looking, and some had tried to seduce him, but because of his dull personality and perpetually lifeless demeanor, even the most discerning and somewhat opportunistic individuals hadn't bothered to recruit him.

So what did the prison officer mean by this? He grabbed his luggage, wondering if he was being transferred to a different cell. He quickly glanced at his cellmates, who were all stunned, their expressions blank.

"Sir, may I ask where I'm going?" Lian Jun stood up from his bed.

"Don't ask, you'll find out when we get there. Hurry up, I'm busy!" The officer said, cracking his whip faster, seemingly impatient.

"..." Lian Jun pursed his lips. He had no freedom here, only unconditional obedience. So he turned around, quickly rolled up his bedding into a bundle, and hugged it to his chest.

The prison officer opened the door and stood aside waiting for him.

"I'm leaving..." It was hard to say goodbye, but Lian Jun knew he might never return to this cell. After taking one last look at his cellmates, Lian Jun pushed open the cell door.

He climbed the stairs, step by step, finally reaching the top floor.

Even though Lian Jun kept his head down and didn't look to the side, he could feel as if every cell he passed had a pair of hungry wolf eyes staring at him, making his steps unsteady, almost as if he were floating.

The prison officer stopped, opened a door in front of him, turned around, and looked at him with a half-smile, his eyes gleaming with schadenfreude: "The fourth floor is two prisoners per cell. Your cellmate is a drug lord who's killed people. You'd better be careful serving him when you go in, or you might not leave prison alive."

As he said this, a venomous glint flashed in the prison officer's eyes, though not obvious, but Lian Jun noticed it.

"Hi, hello there, little lamb." Almost without a sound, the person appeared beside him. Despite the iron bars, the scorching breath still made him reflexively jump aside.

"Hehe, Chen Lin, behave yourself, don't scare the little kid." The prison officer's lips curled into a mocking smile.

"Okay, sir, I know, I'll be careful." Chen Lin's hair was shaved very short, with glimpses of newly grown blue hair, which might lead people to mistakenly believe he was always bald. But that's not the case; he just likes this style. An average barber might not be able to create this look; only in prison would you find someone with such talent.

"Alright, don't 'chat' too long. Dinner time is coming up soon, and no one's saving you any food." The prison officer joked, giving Lian Jun a meaningful look before pushing the stunned man into his cell and turning to leave.

Before Lian Jun could react, he was suddenly lifted up and thrown onto the bed beside him.

"Ah..." Lian Jun instinctively cried out as his bedding fell to the floor, but he didn't care and didn't feel the pain of his body hitting the bed. He propped himself up and quickly rolled over.

The room was small, only about 20 square meters, with just two beds, two chairs, and a table. A small open space in the corner contained a toilet and a shower.

This was considered extremely luxurious accommodation; outsiders would have to bribe officials to get a prisoner to stay here.

Chen Lin was a muscular man in his early twenties with an ordinary appearance, but his narrow eyes held a sinister glint, a strange light—the kind of piercing gleam only someone who had spent years in the shadows possessed.

Alert and sensitive, he was like a ferocious beast, ready to pounce at any moment.

Lian Jun felt a chill run through his body. His mind was clear, but his muscles ached from extreme tension. He wanted to run, but couldn't move.

Chapter Fourteen: Prison Riots (Part 2)

"You're good-looking, and your expression is alluring. I like it." Lian Jun's terrified, almost fainting state greatly pleased Chen Lin, who smiled and pinned his prey down.

"No, let me go." A heavy body pressed down on him, strong hands roaming gropes over his skin. It was all a nightmare. Lian Jun's stomach clenched, and he gagged a few times.

The prey struggled desperately, but no matter what, he couldn't escape the hunter's control. Those demonic hands were like shadows, omnipresent. Lian Jun's clothes dwindled until only his underwear remained.

Lian Jun's teeth chattered from the cold. The man's large hand slipped inside his trousers, grasping his manhood and squeezing it hard.

"Ah...no, let go!" It hurt. Lian Jun's resistance weakened.

"You're screaming too loudly. The soundproofing here is terrible. Looks like you like excitement, wanting them all to know I'm doing you, huh?" Chen Lin teased him with words, while simultaneously manipulating his penis with practiced skill.

Lian Jun, panting, stared intently at him, desperately feeling his uncontrollable physical reaction. Overwhelmed with shame and anger, in desperation, he opened his mouth and bit down hard on the man's ear.

"Ah...ah..." A pig-like scream echoed through the prison!

Chen Lin quickly pushed him away, stood up, a piece of flesh bitten off his ear, the pain excruciating. Without thinking, he slapped him hard, yelling, "You slut, you don't want to live anymore!"

Then came a barrage of punches and kicks. In his rage, Chen Lin went all out, each strike swift and fierce. Lian Jun felt his fists and feet were everywhere. At first, he could dodge, but soon he was too weak to move…

When the prison officer arrived, Lian Jun was barely alive. Due to the severity of his injuries, with Xue Jin's approval, he was quickly released on medical parole and sent to a large military hospital.

Xue Jin was very satisfied with the outcome. Before even leaving work, he drove towards the east of the city.

Chapter Fifteen:

Lian Yu sat on a small stool, holding half a steamed bun. She took a small bite, then added two strips of salted melon to her mouth. Hearing a knock at the door, she looked up and was startled to see who it was.

"Uncle Xue, what brings you here?" Lian Yu put down her food and quickly went to greet him.

Since the kitchen was visible as soon as the door opened, Xue Jin could clearly see the girl's meals and the simple cooking utensils.

The walls were yellowed and cracked, making them look somewhat dilapidated, but the pots and cabinets weren't too old, especially the pot lids, which were gleaming.

"Hmm, I need to talk to you. Are you eating?" Xue Jin glanced discreetly at the bedroom, where there was only a red curtain hanging on the door; there wasn't even a door.

"Yes, come in and sit down." Seeing him looking at her, Lian Yu immediately reacted, stepping forward to lift the curtain and let her guest in.

The doorway was low, and Xue Jin lowered his head slightly as he stepped inside. The red curtain swayed before his eyes, and for some reason, it reminded him of a bride's veil.

Xue Jin subconsciously looked at the girl—she had her head bowed, revealing her fair neck, and her long eyelashes were pressed down, almost covering the skin below her eyes.

A pair of small, soft, and fair hands struggled to hold the large water jug.

The man slowly approached Lian Yu, his heart pounding. The little girl was short, only reaching his chest; he could easily lift her up with a gentle hug.

Xue Jin's slightly outstretched hands tightened, as if he were trying to restrain something. The setting sun cast a golden glow on the small room, making it somewhat mesmerizing.

The two-story bed in the corner was clean and tidy, making one suddenly feel a little tired, wanting to lie down on it. If only there were a fair female body there…

Lian Yu turned her head, startled by the man's arrogant and deep gaze. It was her startle that made the man slowly withdraw his outstretched hand.

"There seems to be something on your clothes," Xue Jin said, casually patting the girl's shoulder.

"..." Lian Yu blinked, wondering if she had imagined it. The man's eyes had been terrifying, like he wanted to devour her, but in the blink of an eye, they had returned to calm.

"Really? Thank you, Uncle. Please sit down and have some water." Lian Yu wondered if the lighting was the cause of her illusion. She glanced at the man and thought he had a decent appearance and didn't look like a bad person, and her fear vanished.

It was very hot, and the small room had no air conditioning or fan. Xue Jin felt uncomfortable and took a few big gulps of water, finishing it all.

Lian Yu stepped forward and poured him another cup. With the little girl right in front of him, Xue Jin could see her more clearly. He hadn't thought much of it before, but now he realized that after more than a month, the little girl seemed to have gotten fairer—it was said that the water and soil of City A were good for people, and it was indeed true.

Seeing her fair and even skin, smooth and delicate, almost like smelling the fragrance of youth, Xue Jin's suppressed lust surged up again.

His abdomen felt hot and swollen. Although his pants were loose, a closer look revealed a nascent bulge. Lost in his fantasies, the man subconsciously swayed slightly, using the friction of the fabric within his underwear to temporarily alleviate his desire.

"Uncle?"

Lian Yu glanced sideways and saw the man staring blankly at his profile. Thinking he was lost in thought, she quickly interrupted, "Didn't you say you needed to talk to me?"

Xue Jin was slightly startled, realizing his lapse in composure—he wasn't there to indulge in lust, and even if he wanted to, now wasn't the time.

He coughed lightly, feigning concern. "Lian Yu, Uncle has some bad news for you. It's about your brother..." The man frowned, looking reluctant to speak. Hearing

this, Lian Yu had a bad feeling.

"What happened to my brother?"

Xue Jin looked up, his tone heavy. "He... he was beaten by his cellmate and is in the hospital now."

"What?" Lian Yu felt as if struck by lightning; her frail body swayed—her brother was her only family. What if something really happened to him?

Lian Yu couldn't bear to imagine such a scene.

Seeing the little girl's swaying body, Xue Jin quickly stepped forward to support her. "Lian Yu, don't worry, your brother is out of danger now. I've assigned someone to watch over him; he's fine."

Hearing this, Lian Yu's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, eased considerably, but she still asked with concern, "Is he badly injured? How can there be beatings in prison?"

The girl was still young; she couldn't imagine the darkness of prison, nor had she experienced the complexities of society.

"He's badly injured; it'll take some time for him to heal." Xue Jin answered her first question, ignoring the latter. Of course, Lian Yu wouldn't pry or take her anger out on him.

Now, the girl was worried about her brother's injuries.

"Can I go see him?" Lian Yu desperately wanted to see her brother.

Xue Jin looked troubled, his head bowed in silence, as if deep in thought.

"Uncle Xue, please, please help me," Lian Yu pleaded, her voice choked with emotion. In her mind, Xue Jin was a high-ranking official with many responsibilities.

"It's not that I don't want to help you, but I need to consult my superiors."

Actually, the matter was very simple; it was just a matter of a word from him. Xue Jin deliberately acted like a good person in front of the girl, as if he had done her a favor. Only in this way could he more easily approach her and eventually win her over.

Tears slowly welled up in Lian Yu's bright eyes. She looked at Xue Jin like a young deer caught in a trap, anxious and pitiful.

Xue Jin sighed insincerely and struggled to speak: "Well then, Lian Yu, I'll try my best to help you apply. If there's any news, I'll let you know as soon as possible."

He pulled a cell phone from his pocket—it was somewhat worn, especially the screen, which had several cracks. At first glance, it looked like a second-hand phone, but that wasn't the case. This was a new phone Xue Jin had bought last time, which he broke after dropping it. He took it to a repair shop, but to the shopkeeper's bewilderment, he didn't want a new part; instead, he specifically bought used parts.

"This is your aunt's old phone, you can take it for now..." he said, trying to shove the phone into Lian Yu's hand. But the girl refused, turning her hand away and shaking her head.

"Don't underestimate it just because it's second-hand; the functions haven't deteriorated yet. Just take it. It'll be easier for me to notify you if I get a message. Otherwise, I won't have that much time to run back and forth."

Hearing his reasonable explanation, Lian Yu hesitantly accepted it.

Clutching her phone tightly, Lian Yu looked at the man with slightly red eyes: "Uncle Xue, I'm so sorry, I'm going to trouble you again."

Xue Jin slowly leaned over, reached out and patted the girl's head, saying in a kind tone, "You're being too polite with your uncle."

Lian Yu's body stiffened slightly, but she immediately relaxed, her expression showing no displeasure. Xue Jin quietly observed her, and seeing that she didn't seem too resistant, he grew bolder and patted her a few more times before stopping.

Three days after Xue Jin left, Lian Yu received a call from him—he allowed her to visit him every day, but with time restrictions, between 5 PM and 10 PM. This put the girl in a difficult position; her brother's hospital was near the prison, and public transportation wasn't very convenient. How would she get there and back?

This was precisely the opportunity Xue Jin had created. It had taken him a lot of persuasion to convince the girl to let him pick her up, but the final result satisfied him.

Chapter Sixteen: Itching Heart

Lian Yu wasn't paying attention in class, eagerly awaiting the end of school, but time still seemed to drag on.

In the morning, Uncle Xue called, asking what time he would pick her up. After thinking for a moment, the girl told him around 6 PM—about an hour and a half after school, which would give her time to do some things.

Finally, the piercing school bell rang throughout the campus. The teacher packed up the teaching materials and called out, "Class dismissed, goodbye students!" Immediately, a chorus of voices responded, "Goodbye, teacher!"

Lian Yu casually joined in the shout, then grabbed her schoolbag and was almost the first to rush out of the classroom, running straight to the school gate.

Five minutes later, Lian Yu arrived at the market. As soon as she entered, she encountered Cheng Chaoyang's father.

"Hello, Uncle," Lian Yu greeted him.

This market was large, the main food supplier for the shantytown. Cheng Chaoyang's father was the head of the local security patrol team, and his mother worked as a cleaner.

Although they were from the countryside, they had lived in the city for many years and had established themselves—stable jobs with social security and housing fund, and a small tenement house.

What comforted them most was that their son was very successful. After graduating from university, he found a decent job. Although he was still in his probationary period, his salary was higher than theirs, which made the parents very satisfied.

"Ah, Lianyu, you're here to buy things again!" They were neighbors before, and now that they met in a different place, it felt very warm. After hearing about Lianyu's brother's situation from their son, they felt more sympathy for the girl.

So the two elderly people told Chaoyang to visit her more often and to lend a hand if she needed anything.

"Yes, you must be very busy at work!" Lianyu would go to the market every few days to buy steamed buns, which were her food for several days.

Half a steamed bun per meal could last her half a day, so the girl always ate steamed buns, not because she was lazy or didn't want to cook anything else, but because steamed buns were cheap and affordable compared to other foods.

But people get tired of eating the same thing all the time, and sometimes their stomachs even churn with acid. Whenever this

happens, Lian Yu forces herself to swallow it down with cold water—the taste… She occasionally bumps into the two elderly people here. At first, she was a little awkward, but after a few times, she found them as kind as ever, and she relaxed considerably.

“Well, it’s alright now. Everyone’ll be off work soon, and I’ll be busy.” Seeing that the girl’s complexion was much better than last time, but her body was still very thin, Mr. Cheng felt a pang of sadness. “Xiao Yu, this weekend, I’ll have your brother Chaoyang pick you up. Come to my house for a simple meal.”

Hearing this, Lian Yu looked troubled. Although her life wasn’t good, she hated people’s pity. The way Mr. Cheng was looking at her now was unbearable, and she felt a pang of self-loathing.

“No, no, I can’t go.” The girl shook her head repeatedly.

“Go ahead, you’re not a stranger. Your aunt’s cooking is quite good. You’ve eaten at our house before, haven’t you?” Mr. Cheng kindly persuaded her gently.

That was before; eating together was nothing. But now it’s different. She’d eaten at their house, and she couldn’t reciprocate. Her family was broken.

“Uncle, thank you for your kindness, but I really can’t go. I have things to do this weekend.” Lian Yu racked her brains for an excuse to decline.

“Something to do?” Uncle Cheng looked at her suspiciously, half believing her.

“Well, our school has a big cleaning this weekend, and we’ll be busy until very late, so I can’t go. Maybe another day.” Lian Yu rarely lied, but in a moment of desperation, she could make up a harmless lie.

“Oh, okay, then next time. You must come next time.” Uncle Cheng didn’t want to force her, but he still acted very enthusiastically.

“Okay, next time.” Lian Yu nodded with a smile.

After Mr. Cheng left, Lian Yu stared blankly at his retreating figure for a while. Such a good uncle, and she had lied to him; a pang of guilt struck her.

Chapter Sixteen:

Driven to buy more pork bones, she visited several butcher shops. She had intended to buy some pork bones to make soup for her brother to nourish him, but upon asking the price, the girl's

small hand clutching her pocket tightened. After walking a few more steps, she saw a chicken shop. Lian Yu thought that making chicken soup would be nice, but half a chicken would cost her a week's expenses. Lian Yu sighed, mentally calculating her options. She hesitated between the shops three times before finally deciding to buy half a chicken, followed by some rice, before heading home.

Once inside, Lian Yu washed her hands and began rinsing the rice and cooking it.

Looking at the half-eaten chicken, the girl was at a loss. She carefully recalled how her grandmother and brother had handled it, and finally got a general idea. She began to cut it into six or seven pieces, added oil, heated it up, and then stir-fried the chicken pieces briefly. Finally, she added simple seasonings and some water, then covered the pot. —The seasonings were from when her brother had been home; they hadn't been used in a long time.

After finishing all this, Lian Yu took out her textbooks and placed them on the cupboard, then found a half-hard steamed bun. She did her homework while watching over the food.

When the girl finished her meal and tidied up her homework, the small room was filled with a delicious aroma. Lian Yu happily lifted the lid of the pot, when suddenly she heard laughter.

"Oh, it smells so good! What are you making?" Lian Yu looked up and saw the director uncle enter the room.

Xue Jin, beaming, swaggered over to the girl and looked her over. She lowered her eyes, seemingly a little embarrassed, and softly called out, "Uncle Xue."

Xue Jin had just closed a big case today, feeling quite pleased with himself, and hearing the girl's sweet, gentle voice only fueled his excitement. He glanced at the contents of the pot.

The broth contained nothing but a few pieces of chicken; it was terribly bland. He subtly curled his lip.

"Not bad, is it? Xiao Yu can cook now." Xue Jin usually called the girl Lian Yu, but today he changed his address. The girl, however, was oblivious, as many people already called her Xiao Yu.

"This is my first time making this, I don't know if it'll taste good!" The girl was fairly satisfied with what she had made, but she knew it didn't look very appealing, and she hadn't used enough ingredients. The dish looked a bit rough, but no matter what, it was her heartfelt gesture, her way of showing love to her brother.

"Then hurry up and eat, I'll wait for you. After we're done, we can get going." Xue Jin clearly thought this was the girl's dinner.

"No, I've already eaten. This is for my brother. I'll find a box to pack it up, and we can leave right away. Wait for me a little while." Lian Yu explained as she started rummaging through the cupboard for a thermal lunchbox. Her brother had bought it for her, but it hadn't been used much, and it was already covered in dust.

Xue Jin raised an eyebrow, watching the girl bend over and stick her round little bottom up. The beautiful shape made his palms itch slightly, and he felt like a wolf pouncing on its prey.

“Xiaoyu, you don’t need to go to so much trouble. The hospital food is good, three dishes per meal, two vegetarian and one meat. Your brother is eating very well.” Xue Jin lowered his gaze, staring at the area where the girl’s legs were clasped together. Although he couldn’t see anything through her pants, it was enough to make him feel hot all over.

“Really?” The girl paused in rinsing the lunchbox, clearly surprised.

“Uncle said he would help you, and he will help you to the end. I specially applied for extra meals for him. With better nutrition, he will recover faster.” As Xue Jin spoke, he walked towards the bedroom, lifting the curtain to look inside—clean and tidy.

“Thank you. I’m so glad to hear that.” Lian Yu ladled chicken soup into the insulated lunchbox, then scooped three spoonfuls of rice onto the top, and finally sealed the lunchbox tightly.

Xue Jin felt that although the bungalow was simple, it was natural and welcoming. Standing in the house, he felt very relaxed. He turned to look at Lian Yu, and suddenly a warmth welled up from the bottom of his heart.

Fine beads of sweat glistened on the girl's forehead; her skin was fair and delicate. She was busy washing her hands, and the presence of this small figure in the slightly warm kitchen gave Xue Jin the illusion that she was a young housewife.

Chapter Seventeen: Testing

the Waters. The sun was setting, revealing half its red face, lazily bathing the earth in a pale gold light, making everything appear peaceful and serene.

Xue Jin gripped the steering wheel, moving it lightly. A breeze blew in through the open car window, carrying a faint fragrance. Beside him sat a beautiful young girl, and his already scheming heart was further agitated. He

immediately felt parched; the prey, not yet in his grasp, was already making his blood boil just from the sniff. Xue Jin's peripheral vision involuntarily glanced to the side.

The light was dim and ambiguous, flowing across her fair face, carrying a strange allure.

Xue Jin quickly averted his gaze, his heart pounding. He'd never been with such a young girl before, so excitement and caution were inevitable. He knew he was being somewhat lewd, but so what? If he set his sights on someone, he had to get her.

Admittedly, he'd never failed with women before. He was someone who cared more about the result than the process. Thinking back on his past successful hunting experiences, a sense of arrogance and pride slowly swelled within him.

"Hmph..." Xue Jin unconsciously chuckled, drawing a surprised look from the girl.

Xue Jin straightened his expression, quickly suppressing his laughter, and turned his head, saying calmly, "Uncle, did I scare you?"

Lian Yu shook her head, feeling a little flustered—she'd ridden in his car before, but not like today. The darker it got, the more uneasy she felt, and the man's sudden laugh had genuinely startled her.

Regardless, being alone with Xue Jin in this relatively confined space was instinctively unappealing for the girl; after all, they weren't familiar with each other yet.

Xue Jin lifted his eyelids slightly, noticing the girl clutching the lunchbox tightly. He smiled knowingly and said leisurely, "My son is making rapid progress in his studies, and I'm very happy. I was just thinking about whether I should buy him something!"

Lian Yu blinked, listening quietly to the sound of envy.

"You're not much older than him, so Uncle would like to hear your opinion. What do children your age like?"

Lian Yu thought for a moment. What did she like? It seemed like she didn't like anything, yet it seemed like she liked everything. Due to her family's financial difficulties, the girl had always suppressed her desires.

"Uncle, I might not be able to say for sure."

Xue Jin raised an eyebrow and pressed, "Why not?"

Lian Yu hesitated, feeling the warmth emanating from the insulated lunchbox, her heart warming as well. "I'm a girl, so I don't really know what boys like."

"Is that so?" Xue Jin half-lifted his eyelids, his gaze somewhat cold.

"Do you have any close male classmates? Do they have any particular interests?"

Lian Yu shook her head without thinking. She didn't have any close male classmates, or even female classmates. She didn't care about other people's affairs, focusing solely on her studies.

"What about older brothers? Are there any particularly good ones? Xiao Yu is so cute, surely you don't even have a caring older brother?" Xue Jin asked with a gentle smile, his sharp gaze secretly sweeping over the girl.

Lian Yu, simple-minded, didn't notice the man's somewhat gloomy expression. The image of her older brother flashed through her mind, making her expression slightly unnatural.

Xue Jin narrowed his eyes, his knuckles whitening slightly as he gripped the steering wheel.

"Really not? I don't believe it! When I was in school, I had older brothers and sisters who took good care of me. I remember..." Seeing the girl's silence, Xue Jin further prompted.

Lian Yu listened with wide eyes, and after a while, finally couldn't help but say, "Brother Cheng was also very good to me. We used to be neighbors..."

A mocking smile played on Xue Jin's lips, but it vanished in an instant. His tone was gentle, carrying an inexplicable charm: "Oh! What about him now? Do you still keep in touch? He must be a good person."

"He's graduated from university now, and he even came with me to visit my brother a few days ago..." Lian Yu didn't say much, but in just a few words, Xue Jin had already gotten the information he wanted. 06-04 Chapter Eighteen Visiting the Sick

Lian Jun woke up in a decent hospital.

His whole body ached, but despite this, he felt much more relaxed. Prison was a place unsuitable for human survival; being able to leave seemed like a relief.

"7505, someone will be coming to visit soon!" A square-faced man in plain clothes, who was guarding the door of the ward, pushed open the door and said this.

Visit? Lian Jun was very surprised!

"Excuse me, who is it?" He opened his slightly swollen lips and asked with difficulty.

"I'm not too sure either. You'll know when you get here." The man placed the thermos in his hand on the only square table in the room, his expression seemingly indifferent, and turned to leave.

Lian Jun frowned, but the movement pulled at the injured muscles in his face, causing him to gasp for breath.

He didn't quite understand some of the prison rules. Take this injury and being granted medical parole, for example—it was something he never dared to dream of. In prison, he had heard people envy such treatment, but those people all had connections. What about him?

He asked himself inwardly, "I have neither money nor connections." Thinking about it carefully, perhaps it was truly the Party's good policies that allowed him to have the opportunity to stay in such a comfortable environment.

Lian Jun looked up at the sunset outside the window, finding those patches of red silk so beautiful…

"Knock knock!" A knock sounded at the door, bringing him back to his senses. "Come in!"

The door opened, and Lian Jun was surprised to see his sister, Lian Yu. He stared blankly, his mouth agape, and then looked at the man who followed her in, completely bewildered.

"Brother! I've come to see you." Lian Yu saw the bandage wrapped around his head and his bruised cheeks, and her heart felt like it had been stabbed. She rushed over.

"You, why are you here?" Lian Jun was very surprised. He held his sister's small hand tightly and felt a pang of heartache seeing her tearful face.

"Don't cry, brother is fine!" Lian Jun used his clumsy hands to wipe away his sister's tears, while watching the unfamiliar man sit down in the chair by the table.

"Brother, how did you get hurt like this... Waaah..." Before she could finish speaking, the girl choked up and her breathing became erratic.

Lian Jun wanted to smile to comfort her, but his face was injured, and his forced expression looked awkward. "Xiao Yu, don't cry, don't cry, brother is really okay!"

Lian Yu wouldn't listen to him at all. She put the lunchbox on the table, reached out and gently touched her brother's swollen cheek, and said with a heavy heart, "Does it still hurt?"

Even though it was a slight touch, the ravaged flesh still stung, but Lian Jun secretly held back, not wanting his sister to worry.

"No, it doesn't hurt. Don't cry. When you cry, it hurts my heart, okay?" Seeing her tears falling even more fiercely, Lian Jun tried his best to comfort her.

Hearing his words, Lian Yu bit her lip, forcing back her sorrowful tears.

"Brother, look what I brought you!" As she spoke, Lian Yu picked up the lunchbox beside her, gently unscrewed the lid, and a light fragrance wafted out.

"I was so scared when I heard you were sick! This is chicken soup I made for you!" Lian Yu moved the small tray of rice on top, revealing the pale yellow hot soup inside.

"This, you made this?" Lian Jun's eyes were full of joy. This was specially made for him by his sister. Suddenly, his heart warmed, and he felt an indescribable comfort.

You see, his sister used to only cook rice; he was usually the one who cooked the dishes.

"Hehe, she made it. You're so lucky to have such a well-behaved sister." Xue Jin had been trying to speak since he entered the room, and now he finally got a chance to chime in.

Hearing his voice, Lian Yu remembered that there were other people in the room. Feeling that she had been somewhat rude by crying in front of her brother, she quickly wiped away her tears.

"You..." Lian Jun was already curious about his identity and turned his gaze over.

"Brother, I haven't introduced you yet. This is Uncle Xue, the warden of the prison. He has helped us a lot." Lian Yu introduced him first.

"Warden, warden?" Lian Jun's eyes widened; he could hardly believe what he was hearing.

"Yes, my name is Xue Jin, hello." Xue Jin habitually extended his hand and smiled generously.

"You, hello!" Lian Jun's tongue was a little slurred, and he reflexively extended his hand as well. The two shook hands lightly, which was considered a formal greeting.

Lian Jun looked at Lian Yu, then at Xue Jin, not understanding what was going on between the two. As if sensing his confusion, Lian Yu explained in detail how the two had met.

Then, he mentioned that Xue Jin had done a great deal of work in getting him medical parole.

Lian Jun listened and nodded, thanking Xue Jin repeatedly—him sister and he had no roots in this city and had suffered such a blow. After being imprisoned, they were once depressed and lost.

But now, he felt that God had not abandoned them, that there were still many good people in the world, and that the warden was undoubtedly a benefactor to him and his sister.

"Lian Jun, don't be so polite with me. It's fate that we met. I will help you if I can, you can rest assured about that." Xue Jin said warmly with a sincere and kind smile on his face.

The two siblings were overwhelmed with warmth and speechless, only gratitude remaining.

After his sister and Xue Jin left, Lian Jun felt inexplicably uneasy, but then he thought of Xue Jin as the director, a man of such status and position, who had promised to take care of his sister as much as possible. What did he have to worry about? His

slightly agitated heart calmed down!

Chapter Nineteen

On the third day of the banquet, Xue Jin had something to do, so he had his driver take Lian Yu to the hospital.

As soon as Lian Yu entered and sat down, Lian Jun became somewhat displeased. Looking at the lunchbox on the table, he said in an unpleasant tone, "The food here is very good. Didn't I tell you not to take anything else? Why don't you listen?"

Lian Jun knew his family's situation all too well. The little savings he had left for his sister, if she kept spending like this, who knew how long it would last? What if something unexpected happened and they didn't even have emergency funds?

Seeing her brother was angry, Lian Yu quickly put on a smiling face.

“Brother, please eat what I made for you. I hope you get better soon.” He opened the lunchbox and took out the soup inside—this time, it was pork rib soup.

Lian Yu carefully handed it to him, but her brother didn't take it. It seemed he was truly angry.

“Brother, these pork ribs didn't cost much…” She glanced up and saw her brother's gaze was somewhat gloomy, filled with reproach. Lian Yu's heart trembled slightly, and she stammered.

Lian Jun didn't say anything, just stared straight at her. Lian Yu felt a chill run down her spine—she had always been obedient, and her brother had always doted on her, but now his sharp gaze truly made her feel uneasy.

After a while, Lian Yu's hand ached, and she had no choice but to give in.

“Brother, are you really angry?” Hearing this, he turned his head away with difficulty.

Lian Yu bit her lip, released the soup bowl, and shook her slightly sore arm. She said reluctantly, "I'm sorry, okay? Don't be angry, brother. I won't cook for you anymore, okay?"

Hearing this, Lian Jun turned around, his expression softening considerably.

"You're really insensible. I'm only doing this for your own good. Save your money, and wait patiently for brother to leave. Everything will be alright." After all, she was his sister, and she meant well. How could he really blame her? This was just a way to appease a child. Seeing his sister nod, Lian Jun took the soup she offered and drank it down in one sip. He quickly finished it, licking his lips with a smile, and said, "Little Yu, you're so smart! Even your cooking is getting better and better."

Lian Yu smiled broadly at her brother's praise.

"But it's not as good as brother's. Brother is a master chef!" Lian Jun gave a noncommittal smirk and reached out to stroke his sister's smooth hair.

“Xiaoyu, seeing you and hearing your voice makes me so happy, I feel much better.”

Lian Yu held her brother’s other hand, her eyes filled with warmth and deep affection.

“But you don’t have to come every day. It’s not good to keep bothering Director Xue, he’s a very busy man.” Lian Jun suddenly changed the subject and raised this question.

Lian Yu thought about it and felt that her brother’s words made sense. No matter how easy-going Xue Jin was, he was still not related to them.

“Brother, you’re right. He had something to do today, so his driver brought me.” She looked up and asked, “Then what do you suggest?”

Lian Jun thought for a moment and then said, “Come over on the weekend, you’ll have a holiday.”

“Ah…” Lian Yu pouted, quite dissatisfied. She wished she could see her brother every day. After they met, she slept much better when she got home.

Women often lack a sense of security, especially when they feel helpless. For her, her brother was like the sky above her head. Even though they couldn't live together, just seeing him every day was a great comfort to her right now.

Seeing her reaction, Lian Jun frowned and pretended to be angry, saying, "Are you disobeying your brother again?"

"No, brother, I'll listen to you." Lian Yu was already obedient, and now she dared not provoke him. Her temper vanished instantly, and she quickly put on a smile, indicating she had no objections.

"Welcome!" Several cute girls in crop tops lined up in two rows, softly greeting the guests who entered.

Xue Jin waved his hand grandly: "Please come in!"

After exchanging pleasantries, the group walked along the granite path and soon arrived at an elegant place.

Bamboo groves surrounded them, and in the middle was a small wooden house with large red characters above the door: "Top Rank 1.

" A waitress was already waiting there, opening the door and ushering them inside. The space was large; besides the dining tables, there was a small dance floor, complete with good sound equipment.

"Sir, would you like to dine at the table or order à la carte?" the waitress asked solicitously.

Xue Jin reached into his pocket, took out several boxes of Yellow Crane Tower liquor, and handed them to several people, asking, "What instructions do you leaders have, hehe?"

Xue Jin was very happy today because the matter of the outstanding cadre had finally come to fruition, and he was honored to be selected. But one shouldn't forget those who dug the well when drinking water; these connections might still be useful in the future. Therefore, he was hosting a grand banquet for everyone today to express his gratitude.

A round-faced, chubby middle-aged man glanced at his other colleagues, noticing one of them squinting, his gaze fixed on the bare shoulders of a waitress. He smiled knowingly: "Let's eat, hurry up, we can have some fun after we finish eating. We can't waste this dance floor and Director Xue's good intentions."

After saying this, the group exchanged knowing smiles and floated away.

Xue Jin, being a shrewd man, immediately understood. He took a deep drag of his cigarette and exhaled several smoke rings. "Don't worry," he said

, "although I can't hold my liquor, I'll definitely find someone to keep everyone company." Then he turned to the waitresses and said, "Call out all your prettiest hostesses. We're going to have a good time today."

The guests smiled and nodded, praising his generosity and deeming him a worthy friend.

A short while later, before the main courses even arrived, several heavily made-up women filed in, greeting the guests and sitting down beside them.

"Hi! Sir, where are you making your fortune?" their coquettish voices stirred the guests' hearts...

Soon, the table was laden with 30 dishes. Amidst the clinking of glasses, the atmosphere in the room grew increasingly heated, and the wrinkled faces of the guests radiated intense desire.

Xue Jin, neither arrogant nor humble, chatted and laughed with them for a while. Finally, these guys couldn't resist the allure of the beautiful music and the girls and secretly made their move on the dance floor.

Earlier, when the music started, the girls had deliberately adjusted the room lights to an ambiguous, suggestive tone, just to facilitate the guests' enjoyment.

"Boss, shall we go dancing too?" The girl beside Xue Jin looked at the lively scene, her heart itching. After all, the man beside her was quite handsome, instantly likable. If something were to happen between them, it would certainly be very pleasant. But from beginning to end, the man had been indifferent to her, as if she were a dispensable decoration.

Xue Jin glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, coldly. Even in the dim light, it still made the girl's heart tremble. She gave a low, uninterested hum and said nothing more.

At this moment, Xue Jin's mind wasn't on this; it was filled with the image of that fair-skinned, beautiful little girl. He wondered if she had gone home yet.

Chapter Twenty: The Night Breeze

Dance stopped, and the guests returned to their tables, each with a young woman in their arms. Several old faces beamed with smiles, clearly still wanting more.

Xue Jin smirked, casually watching a couple flirting.

"What are you doing?!" The man beside the young woman leered, his hand groping her thigh, almost touching a forbidden area.

This annoyed her. "Boss, we sell our art, not our bodies. Isn't this a bit inappropriate?"

She pushed his hand away, eliciting laughter from the other men. They knew perfectly well that this prostitute was really something else!

Judging by their attire, anyone walking down the street could tell they were prostitutes, yet they acted so high and mighty.

"Really?" The man didn't get angry; instead, he became even more interested in the woman, wishing he could devour her whole. He chuckled and said, "Why not? Weren't we getting along quite well just now?"

On the dance floor, he had touched everything he could, even rubbing her breasts countless times, so he spoke particularly boldly now. He knew perfectly well what the woman was thinking—she wanted to inflate her price and get more money.

The woman lightly lifted her eyelids; her black smoky makeup made her look like a panda, but surprisingly, it actually made her not-so-large eyes look much more vibrant.

"That was then, this is now,"

the woman chuckled, a hint of arrogance in her voice. She reached for half an apple from the fruit plate and delicately ate it.

The man found it interesting, his fire burning even brighter. But when he looked up, he saw his colleagues looking at him with mocking eyes, as if to say, "How come you can't even handle a woman?" He started to

lose his composure.

"Hey girl, I've got my eye on you today. You'll have to sell yourself whether you like it or not!" He reached for the girl's waist, but she blocked him with her hand.

"Really? How much pocket money will you give me?" Seeing that the fish had taken the bait quickly, the girl stopped putting on airs and trying to whet his appetite. After all, it all came down to money.

The girls at this restaurant were part-time, with flexible hours. They could come and go as they pleased, and had some autonomy in choosing their clients. Of course, if you were taken out of the restaurant, you'd have to pay a fee first.

"That's easy. I've lived this long enough to know the rules of the trade." He pointed at Xue Jin, "He's a money-grubber, rich!"

After a few drinks and a few spins on the dance floor, he was a little dizzy and spoke without any restraint, saying that Xue Jin was treating, and he'd have his fun.

The young woman, a seasoned traveler herself, glanced at Xue Jin briefly, thinking that the man appeared refined and composed, likely destined for greatness.

Xue Jin looked back at her, a slight smile playing on his lips, but it didn't reach his eyes.

"It's too kind of you, boss. I wouldn't dare say I have money," Xue Jin flicked his cigarette ash, then looked up and continued, "As long as you can make my friend happy, everything is negotiable."

The young woman blinked quickly, saying nothing, but she no longer refused the hand extended by the man beside her.

Afterwards, Xue Jin excused himself to make a phone call, booked several rooms at a familiar hotel nearby, and then paid the bill at the front desk. When he returned, the young women were chatting warmly with the guests, holding hands or leaning shoulder to shoulder.

He raised an eyebrow and asked, "How was the meal, everyone?"

The guests nodded, indicating their satisfaction, and waited for his next words: "Alright, I see everyone is tired, so I booked a few rooms at the XX Hotel. I have their VIP cards, so all expenses will be on my tab."

After saying that, he took out a large wad of cash from his purse and stuffed it into the hand of one of the leaders: "This is pocket money for the girls. You can decide what to do with it. I have other things to do, so I can't keep you company any longer!"

The leader laughed, his face beaming like a chrysanthemum: "Xiao Xue, how can I accept this!"

He pretended to return the money, but Xue Jin grabbed his hand and shook his head: "Are you looking down on me? This is my first time treating, and you're already being stingy with me?"

The leader chuckled, not saying anything more: "Brother, I've made a friend of yours. I'll treat you next time!"

After seeing the guests off, Xue Jin let out a long sigh, then took a deep breath of the fresh air outside—the smell of smoke, alcohol, and the perfume from the girls in the private room had made his head throb.

Squinting, on instinct, Xue Jin walked to his car, took out the remote key from his pocket, and opened the door with a 'click'. He

got into the driver's seat, started the car, but didn't drive off immediately. Instead, he rolled down the window, leaned his head against the seatback, and quietly enjoyed the gentle breeze outside.

He'd had a bit too much to drink today, not because he had to entertain guests, but because he was happy—an outstanding young cadre, this was going to be on TV.

Officials all want both fame and fortune. Although Xue Jin was smart, he couldn't climb the ladder by being a complete sycophant, but he wouldn't let go of a good opportunity for promotion.

Some things are complementary. Take his power, for example. It's not huge, but it's not insignificant either; he only manages a small area. But if you're a bit more discerning, you can really dig out a lot of treasures from it.

Unconsciously, Xue Jin couldn't help but think of Lian Yu. If it weren't for his brother, that little one wouldn't have any connection with him. But since he'd taken a liking to her, there was no escaping her.

Thinking about this, Xue Jin smiled!

Just as Xue Jin was brimming with confidence, enjoying success in both his career and love life, a pleasant cell phone ringtone sounded…

Chapter Twenty-One: Despicable Part 1.

Xue Jin looked closely at the caller ID and immediately perked up—it was Lian Yu calling.

“Uncle Xue, are you busy right now?” The girl's voice was soft, polite and cautious, as if afraid of disturbing someone's conversation.

“Oh, it's Xiao Yu. I just finished a social engagement, I'm not busy.” Xue Jin was in a good mood. This was the first time she had called him proactively. He wondered what she wanted.

Xue Jin gazed at the wide road ahead under the bright streetlights, which seemed even more distant. He unconsciously began to ponder how to get to the girl's house.

"Uncle, I have something to tell you." After a pause, he continued, "My brother and I discussed it, and he wants me to visit him this weekend. He doesn't want to trouble you during the week."

Upon hearing this, Xue Jin narrowed his eyes slightly, his face, hidden in the shadows, appearing much more somber.

"Oh!" he replied insincerely, his heart filled with displeasure, yet his tone remained light: "Xiaoyu, don't talk to me about trouble. In my eyes, you're just a child."

"Uncle can't do much for you. Being too polite will only make me unhappy." Xue Jin frowned; his earlier good mood had vanished considerably.

He irritably pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and in the dim light, the flickering red embers looked somewhat eerie.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone before the girl's voice came through: "You're such a good person."

Lian Yu was young and couldn't handle many things, and she didn't quite understand the art of conversation, but she understood basic social etiquette, so her words were straightforward.

"Hehe..." Xue Jin's gaze was fixed on something in the distance, lost in thought, and he just chuckled softly.

A good person?

Was he? Xue Jin chuckled inwardly. If the girl knew what he was thinking, she probably wouldn't even have time to run away!

"Xiao Yu, how long have you been home?" Xue Jin composed himself and started chatting with the girl.

"A while ago. When are you going home?" Lian Yu followed his lead and asked.

"I had a little to drink, and my head isn't feeling too good, so I'm resting in the car for a bit. I'll be heading back soon." Xue Jin felt a warmth in his heart when he heard Lian Yu's 'concern'.

But thinking about his home, his son was his concern, and as for his wife? Heh, she was probably still at work, or maybe she was in bed with someone else, but he didn't mind.

"Oh, then be careful on your way."

Hearing this, Xue Jin felt a little down. He wanted to hear her voice again, but the girl didn't seem to have any intention of talking for long.

"Well, it's getting late, you should get some rest, and don't forget to lock the door." Xue Jin thought about the small house, where the girl lived alone, and his body reacted.

"Okay, Uncle, goodbye!"

"Goodbye!" After the call ended, there was only a busy tone on the other end. It wasn't until the voice became a little shrill that Xue Jin came back to his senses and closed the phone.

The ash between his fingers was already quite long, and a gentle breeze blew it away.

Xue Jin flicked the cigarette butt out of the car window and sighed softly—he could only pick her up on the weekend? That meant they would have much less time to see each other!

Seeing her but not being able to touch her was already unbearable for a man, and if even the chance to see her was reduced? When would he ever get her?

In the dim light, the man's expression seemed somewhat uncertain...

In the week following the announcement of the results of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Cadres selection, Xue Jin was extremely busy, attending award ceremonies, appearing on television programs, and being interviewed by several newspapers.

Although Xue Jin was busy and tired, he felt quite pleased; suddenly, he had become a celebrity, and he was very proud.

It was Friday, and Xue Jin walked into his office full of energy. After sitting down, he picked up the phone and dialed Old Li's number. A moment later, there was a knock at the door.

"Chief, you wanted to see me!" Old Li, still in his usual manner, smiled obsequiously, looking like a sycophant.

Xue Jin was sitting behind his desk, rummaging through something. He didn't even glance at him when Xue Jin entered, only looking up after a moment.

"This is the material written by Xiao Wang, to be mailed to the xx newspaper." Xue Jin said, placing a few pages of manuscript paper on the corner of the table and tapping the pages. "I heard you recently transferred a female clerk there; she has some writing skills. Have her take a look, revise it, and then give it to me."

Old Li immediately understood—something written by the full-time clerk Xiao Wang was to be revised by a new female clerk? That didn't make sense. Although the girl was a liberal arts graduate, there's a saying: "If you're not in that position, don't meddle in its duties!"

It seemed the director had some ideas about that girl.

Actually, Xue Jin had met the girl once, but couldn't remember her name. He only thought she was somewhat pretty and didn't pay much attention to her. But office life was rather monotonous.

So, on a whim, Xue Jin wondered if he should bring a fresh face to his side.

After Old Li left, Xue Jin began his workday. Although there were many employees in this office building, some important matters still required his personal attention.

After an unknown amount of time, his phone rang. Xue Jin, still reviewing documents, held it to his ear.

"Hello, who is this?" Busy as he was, Xue Jin didn't even look at the caller ID, simply greeting the caller while his pen scribbled furiously on the paper.

"..." There was no response. Xue Jin found this odd, put down his work, and glanced at his phone screen—oh! It was Lian Yu's number.

"Is this Xiao Yu? Why aren't you saying anything?" Xue Jin was in a good mood, smiling gently.

"Yes, Uncle...it's me." She paused, slightly taken aback when the man asked 'who this is!' He clearly knew it was her number from the caller ID, yet he still asked this. Was he unable to answer her call?

Xue Jin was, after all, a married man, and there were times when work prevented him from answering, so Lian Yu was cautious when calling him.

She hesitated, wondering whether to speak .

"Is there something you need?" Xue Jin's voice was pleasant and warm.

"Okay, Uncle, you don't need to pick me up tomorrow..." Before she could finish speaking, Xue Jin's smile vanished, and he quickly asked, "What happened?"

"Nothing much, I just want to go by myself tomorrow," Lian Yu lied.

Xue Jin lowered his eyes, his mind racing, and questioned, "Go by yourself? That's so far! And you don't have a car, how will you get to the hospital?"

"..." Even though Lian Yu was somewhat prepared, she still couldn't answer his question.

"Xiao Yu, Uncle wants to know what happened, can you tell me?" Xue Jin felt there must be some hidden story, and he vaguely guessed what it was.

"Brother Cheng, whom I mentioned to you last time, wants to go to the hospital with me tomorrow!" Lian Yu didn't want to tell him, considering it her private matter, but since she was asked, she had no choice but to speak.

Xue Jin's lips twitched slightly, his smile somewhat forced.

"Really? It's fine if he wants to go; I can pick you up and take you with me." In the week following the announcement of the results of the "Top Ten Outstanding Young Cadres" selection

Xue Jin's lips twitched slightly, his smile somewhat forced.

"Really? It's fine if he wants to go. I can pick you up and go with him."

At Xue Jin's insistence, the next evening, Cheng Chaoyang and Lian Yu got into his car. On the way to the hospital, Xue Jin was very enthusiastic, chatting with the young man.

He thought the man was fairly clean-cut and spoke politely, a good person, but lacking social experience and being rather unsophisticated, it wouldn't be easy for him to have a good career.

"What's your major?" Xue Jin asked as he drove.

"Civil engineering."

"Oh, really?" Xue Jin's eyes flashed, and he said with a smile, "That's a promising major; you'll be a white-collar worker in the future."

"...I'm just starting out, I don't have much experience, and I can't even get basic pay right now." Cheng Chaoyang smiled, somewhat self-deprecatingly.

"Which company do you work for?" Xue Jin nodded and asked.

"A City Jixiang Construction Group." Xue Jin knew this company; after all, he was also in the construction industry. It was a large company, but with many employees, there was a drawback: fierce competition.

“I’ve heard about Jixiang from a friend. He’s in the interior design business and has some connection to architecture,” Xue Jin said, seizing the opportunity to steer the conversation towards his friend.

“Really? Interior design can be quite lucrative. I even took that course.” Civil engineering has elective courses, and many students choose interior design.

“Heh, really? Would you be interested in working for his company?” Xue Jin observed the man’s reaction through the rearview mirror. Seeing that he was listening intently, he thought there was a chance.

“He’s been very busy with projects lately and is hiring. The pay is quite good, base salary plus commission, making over 2000 a month!”

The company Xue Jin mentioned was Jinbu Company, which he and Ding Bu started together. Of course, on the surface, the company was owned by the same person.

“The pay is good, but is there insurance?” Cheng Chaoyang was currently in his probationary period at his company, with a very low base salary. He was doing sales outside the company, and things weren’t going very smoothly.

He had hoped to slowly work his way up, but he hadn’t expected to encounter such a good opportunity today.

"Of course, there are three insurances and one fund, plus a travel allowance." Seeing that he was interested, Xue Jin spared no effort in trying to win him over.

"Brother Cheng, why don't you give it a try!" Before Cheng Chaoyang could answer, a clear voice interrupted, and Xue Jin's mood darkened.

In Lian Yu's eyes, money was a sensitive and important thing. Out of her selfish affection for the man, she hoped he could earn more, which was why she couldn't help but speak up.

But this seemingly casual remark made Xue Jin even more jealous.

The little girl he was thinking about actually favored someone else. Any man would feel jealous, but neither of them knew what Xue Jin was thinking.

"Alright." Cheng Chaoyang thought for a moment and felt he should go and see: "Can I have your friend's phone number?"

Xue Jin readily nodded, "Of course!"

He then pulled out his business card holder, took out a white business card with a gold trim, and handed it to him.

Chapter Twenty-One: In the despicable

ward, Lian Jun was very happy today.

Cheng Chaoyang was his buddy, and he brought fruit to visit him—how could he not be happy? Besides, this was a hospital, a hundred times better than prison.

He smiled and invited him and Xue Jin to sit down, then had Lian Yu pour them each a glass of water.

"Chaoyang, look at you, so busy with work, yet you still brought me things!" Lian Jun leaned against the headboard, his face beaming, rosy and healthy.

The swelling from his injury had subsided, and he could finally laugh and talk like a normal person.

"What kind of relationship do we have? Even if I'm busy, I have to come." It was Saturday, and Cheng Chaoyang had originally planned a social engagement that evening, but he had turned it down—it was really just dinner with clients.

Lian Jun smiled and nodded, looking very pleased, thinking, "A buddy is a buddy!"

“I’ve wanted to come for a while, but I’m new to this job and there’s so much to learn. It was a real struggle to find the time today, I hope you’re not upset,” Cheng Chaoyang said politely to Lian Jun.

Lian Jun shook his head and said he was happy that he could come and didn’t mind the time.

They chatted for a few more minutes about random things, during which Lian Jun also spoke to Xue Jin, but given Xue Jin’s status, he was a little reserved and they didn’t talk much. After Lian Yu poured water, she went to the washroom to wash the fruit.

As soon as she entered, she heard her brother say to Cheng Chaoyang, “While I was away, Xiao Yu troubled you a lot…”

Before he could finish thanking her, Cheng Chaoyang interrupted him, “Don’t keep saying that, I’m afraid I’ll get tired of hearing it. Xiao Yu is so well-behaved, she didn’t trouble me at all, you really don’t need to say those polite things.”

As he spoke, Cheng Chaoyang saw the girl come in and looked up at her.

Caught off guard, Lian Yu's cheeks flushed instantly, and she quickly lowered her head, her long eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings, utterly captivating.

Xue Jin's heart sank at the sight. If he had initially suspected the girl had feelings for Cheng Chaoyang, now it was undeniable—the little girl was indeed secretly in love.

Lian Jun was still talking to Cheng Chaoyang and didn't see his sister's expression, but Cheng Chaoyang had taken in the girl's shy demeanor. His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly looked away.

Lian Yu distributed the washed apples to everyone. Xue Jin had no appetite; he was seething with anger, a burning rage gripping his heart.

The ambiguous exchange between the two had heightened his sense of crisis: he couldn't let someone else snatch the prize he hadn't yet obtained.

A despicable idea immediately formed!

The clouds gathered thicker, and a cool breeze blew.

It was late at night. A car was discreetly parked in a narrow alley, and a man dressed in black sat quietly inside. He had been there for who knows how long!

He raised his wrist, glanced at his watch—it was already 1 a.m.—and frowned, looking up irritably at the pitch-black night sky.

"Why isn't it raining yet?!" Xue Jin complained indignantly, looking at the dark, heavy clouds.

It was Friday. He had told his family he was going on a business trip and checked into a hotel early. He had checked the weather forecast and knew there was a high chance of heavy rain, so he had taken shelter here at 9:15 p.m.

He was waiting, waiting for the rain to come, waiting for the world to be swallowed up by the sound of the downpour, waiting for the room to become pitch black, without a single ray of light.

After a few minutes, the heavens did not disappoint him. First, small raindrops began to fall, then instantly turned into large, heavy raindrops, pelting down from the sky.

As the rain intensified, Xue Jin smiled wickedly, lit a cigarette, and rubbed his throbbing groin. The impending feast made him eager to begin.

Only after the flickering embers in the car disappeared did Xue Jin get out, slamming the door shut with a 'bang,' and slowly walk into the rain. In

the dead of night, everyone was asleep, and no one noticed the figure silently arriving and stopping outside the door of the 14-year-old girl.

The rain continued to fall, growing heavier, with occasional flashes of lightning streaking across the night sky, casting long, white streaks of light that pierced the man's face, making him appear exceptionally ferocious and terrifying…

Chapter Twenty-Two: Bloodstained First Encounter.

Xue Jin fumbled for the lock on the outside of the door, then pulled an iron hook from his pocket—he was a police academy graduate and quite knowledgeable about these kinds of peculiar gadgets; he never expected it would come in handy today.

With his hands moving quickly, Xue Jin remained vigilant, discreetly surveying his surroundings. Seeing that everyone else's houses were pitch black, he breathed a sigh of relief.

A moment later, a barely audible click was heard as the back door opened.

Xue Jin darted inside, carefully closing the door and locking it gently and cautiously.

After doing all this, his heart was still pounding. Standing in the darkness, he calmed himself before slowly making his way into the inner room.

Because the outer room had no windows, it was especially dark at night. Relying on his memory of the room's layout, Xue Jin carefully made his way forward.

"Thud..."

Xue Jin's heart nearly leaped out of his chest—he had kicked something. Judging from the sound, it was empty, like a bucket. This startled him greatly.

There was no toilet in this small storage room, but it was so dark outside at night. What would Lian Yu do if she got up to urinate? So the girl had placed a bucket in the room.

Caught red-handed by Xue Jin, Xue Jin, feeling guilty for his crime, knew that breaking and entering was illegal. He

feared waking the girl and her turning on the light to check on him, which would completely expose him and have dire consequences.

Cursing under his breath, Xue Jin stood rooted to the spot, listening intently to the sounds from the inner room. Aside from the sound of rain outside, he heard nothing. After several minutes without any unusual activity, Xue Jin finally mustered his courage and ventured inside.

Touching the curtain on the door, he gently lifted it and slipped into the room.

Outside, lightning flashed and thunder roared, but inside remained pitch black. Occasionally, flashes of light pierced the curtains, revealing only a faint white glow.

Too faint to make out the interior, Xue Jin strained to squint, focusing his vision, before he could vaguely make out the location of the bunk bed in the distance.

Xue Jin walked forward step by step, his heart pounding faster with each step. By the time he reached the girl's bedside, his palms were sweating.

Xue Jin was young and appeared gentle, with a touch of asceticism. He held a minor official position, but was nonetheless a powerful figure with many subordinates, so he was usually serious and reserved, appearing as an upright person.

But in reality… Xue Jin was an expert at playing with women.

His clothes were soaked from the rain, and Xue Jin eagerly took them off until he was only wearing shorts, then gently sat on the girl's bed.

Lian Yu was facing the wall, her breathing steady. She didn't feel anything as the thin blanket was slowly pulled back. She was wearing a large white t-shirt that just covered her pink buttocks.

The girl's body outline was indistinct, pitifully petite, a small, curled-up ball that seemed almost impossible to touch, yet Xue Jin still reached out and touched her.

A hand slid up the girl's thigh to her waist. Xue Jin's large hand swept across, gently pinching her slender waist in his hand. The delicate touch sent a shiver down his spine.

Her waist was so thin, it seemed as if it would snap at the slightest pressure.

After a few more touches, Xue Jin moved upwards, his gaze sweeping across the girl's chest—two soft mounds of flesh with a small cleavage between them.

Following the cleavage created by the girl's side-lying position, Xue Jin slid down, his hand landing precisely on Lian Yu's small nipples, smaller than soybeans, warm to the touch. After a few gentle rubs, the nipples hardened.

Xue Jin suddenly felt his mouth go dry. He had been sitting on the edge of the bed, but now he shifted his position, lying down and pressing his tall frame tightly against Lian Yu's back.

Then, he carefully turned the girl's shoulders, slowly lowering her to a flat position. Perhaps his movements startled the girl, for she twisted a few times and mumbled something incomprehensible.

But Xue Jin was surprisingly calm at this moment. He wasn't afraid of her waking up, because even if she opened her eyes, she wouldn't be able to escape the bed, let alone turn on the light and see his face clearly in the light.

So he continued his sinful acts with impunity.

If the girl had been lying on her side earlier, Xue Jin could have felt a solid mound of flesh, but now it was just a slightly raised hill, which made him slightly dissatisfied.

Lian Yu was young and malnourished, so her development wasn't very good. But in the early stages of her breast development, the slight pleasure of her clothes brushing against her nipples could make her blush and her heart race for a long time.

But now? In her sleep, without her realizing it, an adult man was defiling her.

Chapter Twenty-Two: The First Bloodstained H Excerpt

A: Lian Yu felt like she was drowning, finding it difficult to breathe. Gradually, she woke up from her dream. In her hazy consciousness, she felt something blocking her mouth.

Slippery, hot, like a snake?!

The next moment, Lian Yu suddenly opened her eyes, all sleepiness gone. All she could see was darkness, and in this darkness, she could hear the patter of rain, and… and the panting… like that of a wild animal. (

Scene B:

The feeling was insane and terrifying, a wave of nausea washing over her, making her shudder.)

Xue Jin heard her muffled moans, rolled over and pressed down on her, his heavy body pressing down on the little girl, making her internal organs clench.

Xue Jin was tall, and although not strong, his muscles were very firm, especially his penis, which was now erect, pressing against her thigh with the girl's movements.

Lian Yu felt a chill on her leg; the spot where the man's hard penis had rubbed against was wet. Although she didn't know what it was, the little girl knew that that area, like her own genitals, was a forbidden zone.

So, filled with even greater fear, he wanted to move but couldn't. In desperation, he clenched his teeth and bit down.

"Damn it!" Xue Jin winced in pain, almost cursing aloud. His tongue was both painful and numb, as if it were broken. Then, his anger flared up.

This country girl, how dare she bite him? Damn it, she deserves to die!

Whether it was anger or lust, Xue Jin's eyebrows turned red. At this moment, Lian Yu was finally able to breathe normally, panting heavily.

At the same time, she tried to struggle with her hands and feet, but how could a grown man on top of a little girl who only weighed a few dozen pounds possibly budge her?

Lian Yu's mind went blank, her strength gradually waning, and she couldn't get up. Having never fought before, she instinctively dug her nails into the flesh of the man's arm.

Xue Jin gritted his teeth and groaned in pain. Without thinking, he raised his upper body and slapped her across the face. Xue Jin wasn't good with violence, but even a rabbit will bite when cornered!

She still dared to hurt him even after things had come to this point, which really infuriated him.
