My Policewoman Lover [Complete] - 8

Chapter 55 The Little Tiger Arrives

While Liu Jing was far away in Tibet, helplessly facing Guo Guo's confession, our policewoman and the Little Tiger unexpectedly met on the streets of S City. Having both fallen for the same man, how will they get along?

The street was brightly lit, with a bustling crowd. Four women stood under the lights.

Fang Xi glanced at her mother and introduced, "This is my mom. Mom, this is...

a friend, um, Liu Jing's friend."

"Oh." Chen Lin nodded, then carefully examined Yu Xia again.

Yu Xia, holding a child, bowed, "Hello, Auntie, my name is Qin Yu Xia."

"Hello." Chen Lin returned the bow with a smile.

Yu Xia was incredibly generous, then said to the child, "Duo Duo, this is also Grandma, quickly say hello to Grandma!"

"Hello, Grandma." Duo Duo was exceptionally well-behaved.

"Oh, good, hehe!" Chen Lin was overjoyed and unceremoniously took the child. "Tell Grandma, where's Daddy?"

Upon hearing this, the two women beside her were both startled. Yu Xia was shocked because this father was someone else's daughter's boyfriend; Fang Xi, knowing Yu Xia's family situation, politely refrained from asking.

Mentioning her new father, Duo Duo became excited and exclaimed, "Daddy's gone out, he'll be back in a few days to take me to the park!"

Thankfully, Duo Duo didn't say anything, nor could she. Both women breathed a sigh of relief and exchanged glances. Fang Xi nodded apologetically, while Yu Xia secretly broke out in a cold sweat.

As everyone was talking, a waiter came out of the hotel carrying a cardboard box containing several opened but unfinished bottles of liquor: "Captain Qin, everything's packed for you."

"Oh, thank you."

"You're welcome, please come again."

The waiter left, and Yu Xia tucked the box under her arm and went to take the child from Chen Lin.

"Is your home far from here? Can you manage alone?" Fang Xi and her daughter exchanged a glance, and Chen Lin handed the child back, asking with concern.

"Hehe. Thank you, Auntie, it's...it's not far." Yu Xia, carrying the suitcase and holding the child, looked strained, but was actually embarrassed and felt ashamed.

Little Tiger felt sorry for her and stepped forward, saying, "Sister Qin...Sister Qin, how about I give you a ride?"

"Oh, no problem, no problem. My home...wouldn't that be too much trouble for you?" Yu Xia glanced at Chen Lin. She had intended to say that her home was quite close and it wasn't necessary. But in a flash, she changed her mind.

"No trouble at all, no problem, it's alright." Chen Lin said generously, "Xiao Fang. Taking care of a child isn't easy, please go through the trouble of seeing Miss Qin off. I'll take a taxi home first."

With that, Chen Lin hailed a taxi by the roadside. Yu Xia looked apologetic, "Auntie, I'm so sorry."

"It's alright, it's my pleasure."

"Duo Duo. Say goodbye to Grandma!"

"Goodbye, Grandma!"

Chen Lin smiled and got into the car and drove away, leaving the two women and Duo Duo standing under the bright streetlights. The scenery along the roadside changed, and the streetlights illuminated the faces of the two women, each with a captivating beauty. Yu Xia honestly handed over the cardboard box, afraid the child might say something inappropriate.

Fang Xi took the box and walked home with Yu Xia.

Liu Jing was far away in Tibet, and Yu Xia not only met with Little Tiger but also brought him to her home.

"How was it? You listened to me, didn't you? Isn't your boyfriend great?" Yu Xia asked with a smile, holding the child.

"Hmm, he's alright." Fang Xi blushed slightly, lowered her head, and then looked up again. "Sister Qin, I really want to thank you last time. I'm so sorry, I was too willful."

"Oh, it's nothing! You're still young!" Yu Xia's face flushed. "But you mustn't blame yourself, like you owe him something. Men are just like that, you can be good to them, but you can't always indulge them."

Fang Xi smiled without saying anything, looking at him with affection and joy.

Yu Xia got more and more excited as she spoke, adopting the tone of an experienced older sister: "Men are just like children. You can take care of him, pamper him, cherish him, and protect him, but you can't spoil him. Otherwise, he'll definitely get cocky, and if his mistress isn't home, he'll definitely go and have an affair!"

The older sister's words were quite amusing, and Little Tiger chuckled.

"Heh, heh, you don't need to laugh!" Yu Xia couldn't stop laughing, feeling utterly shameless. "What I'm telling you is the truth. Men get married not only to find a wife, but also to find a stepmother, someone to be controlled!"

Little Tiger giggled so hard he almost dropped the cardboard box; Duo Duo, held in her mother's arms, though not understanding what was going on, also giggled along.

Two adults and one child, three women, getting along remarkably harmoniously for the first time.

After laughing,

Fang Xi took a breath and said, "Sister Qin, maybe I shouldn't have asked, but I heard from Liu Jing that your husband has already... Have you ever thought about finding someone else?" "Ah, me..." Yu Xia's heart skipped a beat; she almost abandoned her child. "Sigh, what's the point of looking again! My daughter is so young, and I'm almost thirty. I won't look anymore; I'll just make do on my own."

Fang Xi was full of admiration, gazing deeply at this beautiful and flamboyant woman. Although it was only their second meeting, their similar experiences and Yu Xia's cheerful and friendly attitude made her feel especially close to her.

"By the way, Liu Jing always calls you Little Tiger, what's your real name?" Yu Xia changed the subject.

"Oh, I... my name is Zheng Fangxi." Fangxi seemed slightly surprised, but didn't mind, and said sincerely, "Sister Qin, to be honest, my father passed away when I was in high school. At that time, my mother and I felt like our family was missing its pillar. You're so young, and your child is so young, yet you can live so strongly and optimistically. I really admire you."

"Really?" Yuxia's eyes widened, as if she had discovered a new continent, a great surprise! Yuxia

's mind suddenly changed. She hadn't really had any particular purpose in bringing the little tiger back. She just felt that since she had already become attached to Liu Jing, she would eventually do something to betray him. Rather than that, she might as well take this opportunity to harmonize things, build a relationship, and curry favor with the first wife. On the other hand, she would be staying for at least two months, and she definitely couldn't hide it anymore. Liu Jing was still hesitant, so bringing him back would both force Liu Jing to confess and relieve some of his pressure, and also make her seem honest.

Now she knew that although the two were in different places, they had similar experiences. Based on her observation, with Little Tiger's simple, kind, and straightforward personality, he should be able to understand and empathize with their "cohabitation" situation at home. But should she say it directly herself, or let Liu Jing say it?

The two women chatted and laughed, occasionally teasing

Duo Duo, and soon arrived home. "Fangxi, you must be exhausted. Quickly put your things down and come in to rest for a while." Yu Xia was incredibly enthusiastic, welcoming the real homeowners on their first visit as the temporary hostess.

Fangxi put down her things and nodded, saying, "Sister Qin, it's too late. You should put the child to sleep. I won't go in."

"How can that be? Since you're here, you should at least look at the house and see if you're satisfied!" Yu Xia didn't give a chance to explain and pulled Little Tiger inside, without even taking off her shoes.

Fangxi was dizzy and was dragged inside, even though she felt that the question of "satisfied" was rather awkward. Yu Xia led Little Tiger around to all the rooms, while Duo Duo followed listlessly behind, holding an empty milk bottle.

"How do you think it is?" Yu Xia asked excitedly.

"It's great." Although she felt that her host was being a bit too enthusiastic and unbelievable, Fang Xi still sincerely praised her.

"Oh, really?" Yu Xia was a little awkward. "Actually, I just moved today. The person you saw at the hotel entrance was a friend who helped me move."

"Oh, so today is your housewarming celebration, sister." Fangxi seemed to understand the reason for her hostess's enthusiasm.

"Well, not really." Yuxia chuckled a few times and explained, "You know Xinlang Project, right? My old house was demolished, and I can't buy a suitable place right now. Renting a place would require paying six months' rent upfront, which isn't worth it. This house... is borrowed from a friend. It's just a temporary place; I won't be staying for more than a few days."

"Oh." Fangxi looked at her, her eyes filled with deep sympathy, moved by the life of the widow and her child before her.

Yuxia thought it over and decided to let Liu Jing speak first, leaving it at that. She had already shown her honesty; it was time for Liu Jing to speak. Besides, she felt guilty. If things went well, all would be well; if things went wrong, the two of them would fall out. Moreover, if she spoke first, it would seem like a show of force.

"Mommy, I want milk?" Duoduo finally had a moment to spare and held the empty bottle high.

"Wait a minute!"

Fangxi hurriedly said, "Sister Qin, I really should go now. It's too late. You should take care of the child." With that, she walked out.

The doorway was dimly lit, but warm and inviting. Yu Xia escorted them to the door, and the two faced each other in the soft light, their radiant faces and eyes sparkling.

Yu Xia looked at her apologetically, "Fang Xi, I don't know how to tell you this, I'm really sorry. Your boyfriend and I are just online friends, but... he's really helped me a lot. Not only did he become Duo Duo's godfather, but when Duo Duo was sick a while ago, I even called him over in the middle of the night. Please don't mind."

"Really? How could I?" Fang Xi was taken aback; she didn't know about the godfather thing. She then took Yu Xia's hand, "Well, friends should help each other. Even if I knew, I would have asked him to help you. Don't think too much about it, sister. I understand, really."

The little tiger was innocent and sincere, and Yu Xia was both touched and ashamed. "No matter what, he's your boyfriend, and I'm still a widow. It's only right that we avoid suspicion. Actually, he's helped me a lot... other things too. Well, it's too late today, I won't say more. I'll have Liu Jing tell you when I have the chance. Like I said, please don't mind. I sincerely wish you both well."

"No, don't worry, sister." Fang Xi smiled faintly and turned to leave.

The little tiger was gone. Yu Xia leaned against the door, letting out a soft sigh. The little tiger was so innocent and kind; she felt so guilty, so afraid of hurting her, yet she didn't want to back down. What should she do?

Harmony, it had to be harmonious! Yu Xia stubbornly chose to forge ahead, striding into the room: "Duo Duo, bring the bottle, Mommy will make you some milk!"

Chapter 56 Guo Guo Calls Her Mom

The morning sunlight was beautiful, filling the room with romance. Outside the window, the snow-capped mountains shimmered in the sunlight.

Liu Jing opened his eyes. Guo Guo was curled up in his arms, sleeping soundly, her sweet appearance in her dream so endearing. Liu Jing gazed at her gently, growing more and more fond of her, more and more reluctant to let her go. After so many years alone, chasing his love dream for so long, he ended up liking two girls. He didn't know if he was lucky or unlucky.

Guo Guo's eyelashes suddenly fluttered, and two shallow dimples appeared on her cheeks.

This girl was pretending to be asleep! Liu Jing slapped her hard across the face: "The sun's already high in the sky, stop pretending and get up!"

Guo Guo giggled, wrapping her soft arms around his neck: "No, I haven't had enough sleep yet, Liu Jing, I want you to hold me!" She then looked at him with a sweet smile, like a cat that had just woken up.

"Hold me again? Last night I was worried you'd be uncomfortable, if I hold you again... it'll be like we're having an affair!" Ever since her period cramps started the night before last, this girl's coquettishness was almost unbeatable! Liu Jing quickly broke free from her arms and climbed out of bed.

"No way!" Guo Guo also crawled out and knelt on the bed. "You clearly liked me first!"

Liu Jing sighed and moved forward, saying, "Guo Guo, don't be silly. We're just not meant to be. From now on, like you said, we'll still be good friends, even better friends than before."

"I don't care." Guo Guo nestled into his arms again, pouting. "Anyway, I'm never getting married. I'm going to punish you for the rest of your life, making sure you never have a good time with her!"

Liu Jing helped her up, smiling bitterly. "Guo Guo, when did you become so cruel?"

"Hehe, I was just kidding." Guo Guo looked at him sweetly, her eyes sparkling. "Then it's a promise, we'll be good friends. And also, introduce me to your girlfriend sometime, maybe we can become good friends too?"

"Okay. I'll introduce you two sometime." Liu Jing looked at her, sad and reluctant.

Guo Guo gently pushed him away, got out of bed, and found some underwear: "I'm done, I'm going to take a shower, don't peek!" Then, like a little deer, she skipped out lightly.

Liu Jing felt helpless, but also relieved. There was nothing to be happy about in not being able to be with the person you like, but he was still relieved. He didn't know how much of Guo Guo's happiness was feigned. But could there be a better outcome?

The rushing water washed over her mature body, and Guo Guo felt a little resentful, but mostly shy. She wasn't pretending; after embracing all night, she had figured it out. She lacked courage and was late again. How could she blame others? Loving someone doesn't necessarily mean possessing them; as long as they are doing well, she is happy too.

Through the bathroom door, the sound of rushing water echoed, reflecting their different thoughts.

After breakfast, Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan came together again. The Linzhi tourist area has many scenic spots, such as the mysterious Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon. The famous Benri Mountain and Namcha Barwa Peak, among others, were missed due to time constraints. However, since they were in Tibet, they couldn't miss the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. Zhang Xingqi strongly urged them to return from Lhasa, even if it was just a quick visit. They agreed.

Compared to cultural sites, Liu Jing preferred natural scenery. He didn't deny the grandeur and profound historical significance of the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, but these required immersion. He was a practical person and not particularly interested in such things, believing they offered little benefit to his life or mood.

After visiting the two holy sites, Liu Jing's deepest impression was of the Potala Palace's underground toilet, touted as the world's highest toilet. It consisted of only two simple wooden planks above a dark abyss! While such a toilet was convenient and didn't require emptying, it was terrifying; the last time he used it, he was scared half to death. He had no doubt that if Xia Lan hadn't been there, Guo Guo would have dragged him in with him when using the toilet.

That evening, the two bid farewell to the enthusiastic Zhang Xingqi and the intellectual Xia Lan, and boarded a night flight to return home. After a layover in Beijing, they flew directly to Liu Jing's hometown, a small and beautiful seaside city.

They arrived the next morning. Liu Jing, carrying large bags, led Guo Guo out of the airport, where they were greeted by the humid air carrying the scent of the sea. Having not been home for months, he felt exceptionally refreshed.

Guo Guo was a little nervous and uneasy. Although the meaning of the visit had changed, it was still the home of her beloved, and she was still worried about leaving a bad impression on the two elders. Perhaps, she still held onto a sliver of hope for herself.

Liu Jing put his things down by the roadside and took out his phone to call his mother first.

As soon as he turned it on, the phone rang. It wasn't Xiao Laohu, but Qin Yuxia.

"Is it your girlfriend again?" Guo Guo asked, her eyes darting around, the sea breeze ruffling her short hair.

"No," Liu Jing replied, answering the phone.

"Liu Jing, where are you? How did things go?" Yu Xia's cheerful voice came through the phone.

Liu Jing replied, "It's all done, I just got home. Have you moved? Are you on duty these past few days?"

"No, I've been waiting for you at home. The move is finished, just got everything sorted out. Let me tell you, the house is completely refreshed now! When can you come back?" Yu Xia asked easily, her voice brimming with excitement.

"Completely refreshed! What do you mean?" Liu Jing paused, then quickly took two steps back. "Yu Xia, I agreed to let you stay, but I didn't tell you to touch my things! Don't you dare mess around in my house!"

"What nonsense! I'm staying for two months, and it'll be two people!" Yu Xia said matter-of-factly. "Two to one, of course things have to be done my way at home! Besides, I've finished everything, so if you're not happy, just bear with it."

Liu Jing was speechless. How did he end up with someone like this? Yu Xia then said, "Liu Jing, Duo Duo wants to talk to you."

"Oh, okay." Liu Jing glanced to the side. Guo Guo was looking at him suspiciously, her eyes a little unfriendly.

"Daddy, when are you coming home? When are you taking me to the park?" Duo

Duo was even more excited than her mother.

"Hmm, Daddy..." Liu Jing thought for a moment, "Daddy will come home on the 6th, and when he comes home, he'll take you to the park." Liu Jing glanced at Guo Guo again. Her eyes were bigger than copper bells. Sigh, unmarried fathers are really awkward!

"Mommy, Mommy, Daddy will come home on the 6th, and when he comes home, he'll take me to the park!" Duo Duo couldn't wait to tell her mother the good news, even though she didn't understand what the 6th meant at all.

"Liu Jing, the 6th, are you sure this time?" Yu Xia snatched the phone back.

"Yes. I'm going home on the 6th, either the 6th or the 7th, I'll definitely take her to the park." Liu Jing readily agreed; if he didn't go, Duo Duo's nerves would really go haywire. Yu Xia chuckled, playfully saying, "Which day is uncertain? Shouldn't you discuss it with your girlfriend?"

"Yeah." Liu Jing nodded. Yu Xia leaned closer to the phone, mysteriously saying, "Liu Jing, I have good news for you. I ran into your girlfriend the day I moved?"

"Oh." He didn't react. He didn't understand what good news came from.

"I even took her home?"

"What! Home?" Liu Jing's heart skipped a beat, and he asked quickly, "Whose home?"

"Your home, of course, the place I live now." Yu Xia was quite nonchalant. With a hint of smugness, he said, "Hey, let me tell you, I've put in a lot of good words for you, and we get along really well, we're practically sisters!"

"Does she... know that's my home?" Guo Guo stared blankly at him. Liu Jing turned a few steps away, getting straight to the point. Sisters? It was too early to say.

"Well, she doesn't know yet." Yu Xia sounded less confident, but still said casually, "However, I've already made my main point clear, at the very least the last one. You should tell her soon. Don't hide anything, or I'll be implicated too!"

"You...you're really something!" Liu Jing sighed, feeling both headache and dejected.

"Hehe, don't get worked up, your girlfriend will definitely understand." Yu Xia said shamelessly, clearly having gotten the better deal but still acting innocent. "Alright, I won't say any more to you. Let's work hard to create a harmonious society. I've already given you a good start."

Seeing him hang up the phone, Guo Guo pouted and leaned forward, looking quite dissatisfied: "Liu Jing, who is this? Why is she living with you? And why are you a father?"

Liu Jing sighed inwardly and patiently explained, "She's a friend, just a regular friend. Her husband was a criminal police officer who recently died in the line of duty. It's not easy for her to raise a child, and her family is being relocated. She needs time to prepare for the new house, so she's temporarily staying at my place for a few days. 'Father' was just a casual remark; I'm just a godfather to her child."

"Really?" Guo Guo said doubtfully, feeling wronged, "You clearly liked me first, and now you have a girlfriend, live with someone else, and are even a father to someone else. I'm the most unlucky one!"

"Don't talk nonsense!" Liu Jing snapped, somewhat helplessly. This was a complicated matter. Yu Xia kept talking about harmony, but Guo Guo didn't believe it. If Xiao Laohu could achieve harmony, it would be a miracle.

Liu Jing called his mother, explained the situation, and emphasized that the person coming wasn't his girlfriend, but a good friend. Ding Hua was overjoyed and readily agreed, even saying she'd prepare food right away, though it was unclear if she listened.

Afterward, Liu Jing hailed a taxi and put his things in the trunk. Guo Guo's eyes widened, and she leaned closer with a smile: "Liu Jing, after your family moves out, can I borrow your place?"

"Go away!" Liu Jing rolled his eyes and shoved her into the car impatiently.

On the return trip from Tibet, Guo Guo seemed like a different person; all her former shyness was gone, and she joked with him constantly, their sentences almost entirely reversed.

Less than two minutes into the car, Liu Jing's phone rang again. This time it was Xiao Laohu, and he quickly answered.

"Fangxi..."

"What's wrong with you? You can only say a few words on the phone, and now your phone is off. I've called over a hundred times since last night! What do you mean by this?" He had barely opened his mouth when Little Tiger launched into a tirade.

Guo Guo gave him a sour glance, pouted, and turned his head to look out the window. Liu Jing broke out in a cold sweat and quickly tried to appease him, "What are you yelling about? I boarded a plane last night and just got off. It's no wonder you couldn't get through!"

"Oh, is that so?" Fangxi said somewhat embarrassedly, then added, "Couldn't you have called me before you boarded the plane? I'm always the one calling you! Have you even thought about me?"

Girls always tend to turn the tables, especially girls in love. Liu Jing chuckled twice, "It's my fault, don't be angry. I'll go back on the 6th, and I'll come find you when I get back."

"The 6th?"

Little Tiger's tone wasn't as excited as expected. Liu Jing asked again, "What? Do you have something to do on the 6th?" Fang Xi smiled, "Liu Jing, I have good news for you. My mom is getting married. I'm going to meet the family for dinner on the 6th. You can find me on the 7th."

"Really? Okay."

Little Tiger hesitated, then added, "The man is a university professor. My mom will be going to Argentina with him in a while, and they'll have one last meal before she leaves. You'll be going too, okay?"

"Sure, no problem." Liu Jing thought he could take Duo Duo to the park on the 6th. Seeing

that her lover wasn't showing the expected excitement, Fang Xi was a little disappointed: "Liu Jing, my mom is leaving, and I'll be all alone at home. Aren't you...aren't you happy?"

"Hehe, don't worry, Mom's gone. I'll take care of you from now on." Liu Jing didn't even have time to react before getting to the point. "By the way, Fangxi, I heard you met my online friend? And...you even went to her house?"

"Yeah, what's up?" Although her lover didn't show excitement, she did show concern. Little Tiger was still very satisfied.

"Nothing much." Liu Jing pondered for a moment, "I even became her child's godfather. Sigh, I couldn't help it, the child always misses her father, so I reluctantly agreed. Um, that child wanted to go to the park, but I've been busy. I haven't taken her. Since you have something to do on the 6th, I'll take her to the park, is that alright?"

"Oh, is that so?" That night, Duoduo said her father went out and would take her to the park when he came back, but Fangxi hadn't paid attention. Now she understood what was going on. "Okay, you can take her." After a pause, Little Tiger said happily, "Liu Jing, you're quite kind-hearted. It seems I didn't choose the wrong person."

Liu Jing looked at Guo Guo beside him, feeling both touched and ashamed: "Okay, let's leave it at that for now."

"Hey, wait!" Fangxi quickly called him back.

"What else is it?"

Fang Xi asked bluntly, "Liu Jing, you're home now, where's your classmate who's the governor?" How did she become his classmate? Liu Jing stammered awkwardly, "She...she came home with me too!"

"What? She came home with you too? What's she up to?" The little tiger was furious again. A lone man and woman went on a trip, and now she's home with her lover, while she hadn't even shown up herself—she felt utterly cheated.

Guo Guo finally turned her head back, her eyes cold, carrying a hint of provocation and resentment. Liu Jing glanced at her and quickly explained, "Fang Xi, don't take it personally. My hometown is a tourist city; she didn't have anything else to do, so she just came along for a visit. Oh, by the way, she's right next to me and seems eager to get to know you. Do you want to say a few words to her?"

"Forget it, I don't even know her, why should I talk to her?" Little Tiger paused for a moment, then patiently said, "Liu Jing, it's not that I don't trust you, but I always feel like she has bad intentions. Be more careful, don't let her take advantage of you."

"What are you thinking? We're just classmates." Liu Jing sighed inwardly, a mix of helplessness and resentment in his voice.

"Then that's settled. But I'm warning you, if you dare do anything to betray me, I won't forgive you!" Little Tiger hung up the phone unhappily.

The long call finally ended, and Liu Jing put away his phone. The sea breeze outside the window blew through his hair; the familiar scent of home made him feel much better. In just a few days, he felt like everything was in disarray, all sorts of things piling up at once.

Guo Guo rolled her eyes and grinned, "What? Is your girlfriend jealous of me?"

"No." Liu Jing replied casually, turning his head to look out the window.

"Hmph! I haven't even done anything yet, and she's already jealous!" Guo Guo raised her chin, quite disdainful.

Liu Jing glared at her but didn't say anything.

“That’s right! I was just letting her have her way!” Guo Guo pushed up her glasses, pouting at him. Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated, and could only say, “Fine, fine, you’re so clever. You’re the governor’s daughter, and she’s just an ordinary citizen, okay?”

Guo Guo didn’t say anything more, tilting her head to rest on his shoulder, her face still showing a hint of melancholy.

Liu Jing’s hometown was a small city, and the car moved briskly forward, getting closer and closer to their destination. Guo Guo was really nervous, her face tense, constantly looking at the person beside her, as if seeking some comfort.

Liu Jing sighed inwardly and took her hand: “Guo Guo, don’t be nervous, my parents are both very nice, especially my mom, she’s so warm and friendly, she’ll definitely… like you.”

“You’re so annoying.” Guo Guo felt a little relieved and blushed as she scolded him.

After getting out of the car, Liu Jing led the anxious Guo Guo home. As soon as they entered the residential area, they saw his mother looking out the window from afar. The May temperature was already quite high. Downstairs sat many neighbors, mostly elderly women. Seeing him leading a timid young girl home, they all showed great enthusiasm.

"Oh, Xiao Jing's back? Is that her boyfriend?" Aunt Zhang asked.

"Look how pretty this girl is! When did they start

dating?" Aunt Li said. "Xiao Jing isn't bad either! His mother was pretty when she was young!" Aunt Qi said.

"That's right. Girl, how old are you? Whose family are you from?" Aunt Cui was the most direct.

"Haha, look how shy this girl is, she looks like a steady person." Aunt Sun was particularly cheerful.

Damn, even Aunt Sun is here! The numerous elderly women chattered amongst themselves. Liu Jing kept bowing and nodding, while Guo Guo, extremely embarrassed, followed behind like a kitten, her face as red as a ripe persimmon.

The elderly women's desires were greatly satisfied, and the two finally slipped into the stairwell. Just as Liu Jing was about to say something, Guo Guo suddenly turned around, took off his small glasses, and put on his contact lenses.

Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated. Guo Guo, embarrassed and angry, punched him hard. Liu Jing finally couldn't help but burst out laughing and ran upstairs laughing.

"You're so annoying! Don't laugh!" Guo Guo chased after him, pounding and hitting him with his little fists.

The two stopped between the first and second floors. Guo Guo was still relentless. Liu Jing said, "Guo Guo, stop fooling around. I'm telling you something..."

The door on the left side of the second floor was ajar, and Ding Hua peeked out with a grin. The two immediately stopped fighting. Guo Guo glanced at him and looked at Liu Jing uneasily.

Liu Jing grinned mischievously: "This is my mom. We live on the second floor."

"Ah!" Guo Guo exclaimed in surprise, embarrassed and flustered. After calming down a little, he quickly bowed and said, "Mom!"

Guo Guo's voice was weak and soft, but it was like a wake-up call. Liu Jing nearly tumbled down the stairs, much to Ding Hua's surprise and delight. Wait a minute? Weren't they just classmates and good friends? How come... she called him "Mom"?

Guo Guo realized her mistake as soon as the words left her mouth, quickly covering her mouth and looking at Liu Jing with utter panic: "I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean it, really!"

"Hehe, it's alright, it's alright, no need to apologize to him. Auntie would love to have a good daughter!" Ding Hua beamed, hopping down the stairs and pulling Guo Guo into her arms. "Come on, come on, girl, let's go inside, don't pay him any attention!"

Guo Guo turned around, only to be carried upstairs by Ding Hua.

Liu Jing stood there dumbfounded for a long time before coming to his senses: "Are you kidding me? You can just call someone 'Mom' like that? Could it be intentional?"

He forgot, he could call someone 'Dad' anytime, so why couldn't he call someone 'Mom'?

Chapter 57 A Potential Daughter-in-Law

It's often said that a daughter is her father's warm little cotton-padded jacket. This saying is somewhat abstract and difficult to understand, but it's undeniable that having more girls makes the home atmosphere much more lively. Guo Guo's arrival powerfully proves this point.

After entering the house, Liu Jing introduced Guo Guo to his parents. Within two minutes, Ding Hua was all smiles, calling her more affectionately than a biological daughter; Liu Weihua was also overjoyed, nodding frequently. Liu

Jing was puzzled. His mother was one thing—she was practically green with envy, hoping he'd have a girlfriend. He had no doubt that if he brought home a decent girl, his mother would react the same way, especially since Guo Guo was so outstanding. The key was his father. In over twenty years, he had never seen him, let alone imagined, that his father could be so kind and gentle, like a breath of fresh air! He was puzzled. He had solemnly stated on the phone that Guo Guo was a classmate and a good friend, and he had emphasized it again during the introduction, so why was he being ignored?

Guo Guo was both embarrassed and delighted, her head bowed awkwardly, unable to even smile. She kept wanting to touch her nose, but unfortunately, her glasses were off.

After the pleasantries, Ding Hua reluctantly stood up: "Yangyang, sit down for a while. There are still a few dishes left; Auntie will cook them, and we'll eat right away!"

Guo Guo stood up as well, mustering her courage, and said, "Auntie, let me help you?"

Liu Jing gave her a disbelieving look, as if to say, "You can cook?" Guo Guo was embarrassed and quickly glanced at Ding Hua: "Why are you looking at me like that? Can't I help out even if I don't know how?"

"Right, right, right!" Before Liu Jing could speak, Ding Hua pulled Guo Guo close. "Yangyang, ignore him. He can't do it himself and he's criticizing others! Come on, come with Auntie. Auntie will teach you!"

Guo Guo glared at him and followed Ding Hua, looking arrogant. Liu Jing felt wronged. What did I do? I didn't say anything!

The two women went into the kitchen, leaving only the father and son. Liu Weihua lit a cigarette and resumed his usual stern expression. Liu Jing sighed, preparing to face his father's interrogation.

"How long have you known this girl?" Liu Weihua asked, just as Liu Jing expected.

"More than four years, almost five. We were college classmates, we met in college."

"Do you need to tell me that?" Liu Weihua frowned. "I'm asking when you two started?"

"We... we never even started!" Liu Jing was stunned, but he still had to patiently explain. "Dad, didn't I already say? She's just a classmate, we're good friends, that's all. She's a girl, don't talk nonsense!"

"A classmate who went to Tibet with you? A classmate who came home with you?" Liu Weihua squinted at his son. Smoke curled from his lips. "My leg is lame, but my eyes aren't. Ca

n't I tell if she's a classmate or not?" Liu Jing sighed inwardly and fell silent. Given their current situation, especially Guo Guo's behavior, his father's opinion was understandable, especially since he already had a girlfriend. He wanted to explain, but that would only lead to more questions, so he decided not to say anything. Anyway, he had to tell his mother, so he might as well let her relay the message.

Seeing his son's silence, Liu Weihua rolled his eyes and snorted, "Why didn't you come home for the holidays? What were you doing in Tibet?"

"A classmate had something to do, didn't my mom tell you?"

"You're always lying. Who knows if what you're saying is true or false?" Liu Weihua flicked his cigarette ash, his face grim.

"Of course it's true, what's there to lie about?" Liu Jing retorted angrily. He just couldn't understand how his father had such an impression of him, when he had almost never lied before.

Liu Weihua glanced at his son, his tone softening slightly: "What exactly happened to your classmate? Why did he run off to Tibet?"

Lu Qiuyang's situation couldn't be explained in a few words, so Liu Jing thought for a moment and said, "It's nothing much. His girlfriend got pregnant, and he didn't know, so he went to Tibet. We're going to find him."

"Hmph!" Liu Weihua snorted heavily, grabbing his cane. "Look at you, look at you! What kind of people are you associating with? Pregnant before marriage, and then he got her pregnant and ran away! Can't you associate with decent people?"

"Dad, what are you saying?" Liu Jing was truly exasperated. "You don't know the situation, why are you making such accusations?"

"Wasn't it you who said she was pregnant before marriage? Wasn't it you who said she ran off to Tibet? Did I say anything wrong?" Liu Weihua glared at his son, slamming his cane down hard. "How many times have I told you! Be careful who you associate with. Stay away from those shady characters. You won't listen to a word I say, all you know is..."

"Alright, alright, Dad, calm down. Be careful not to attract attention downstairs! I'll go back to my room and tidy up!" Liu Jing couldn't take it anymore and quickly got up and left.

"Good-for-nothing!" Liu Weihua watched his son's retreating figure, feeling utterly disappointed.

While the father and son were at odds, Ding Hua and Guo Guo were not only busy but also chatting enthusiastically. Although Guo Guo came from a high-ranking official's family, they never had the habit of hiring a nanny; Bai Xiaoqing took care of everything herself, so she was somewhat capable. Now that she had the chance, the little girl quickly and skillfully chopped, washed, and patted the dishes, and coupled with her obedient appearance, Ding Hua was delighted.

"Yangyang, how long have you been with Xiao Jing?" Like Liu's father, Liu's mother also asked this question.

Guo Guo, who was slicing carrots, stopped when she heard this, her face showing embarrassment, but more so sadness. "Auntie, you've misunderstood. Liu Jing and I are just classmates, ordinary friends. He... he already has a girlfriend."

"Really! Is that true?" Ding Hua, who was cooking fish, turned around in surprise. Although her son had repeatedly emphasized it, seeing the two of them, she immediately understood. She thought it was just that the two young people couldn't get along and that's why they said that.

"Yes." Guo Guo responded softly, looked up and smiled, then continued with her work.

Looking at the girl in front of her, Ding Hua finally understood, and felt a pang of heartache, her eyes filled with deep reluctance. She wanted to ask, how come they hadn't gotten together after four years of being classmates? But that was her son; she couldn't bring herself to ask, or even say anything to comfort him.

"Auntie, the vegetable pot?" Guo Guo reminded her.

Ding Hua forced a smile, turned around, but couldn't help looking back. The fish in the pot had stabilized, and Ding Hua, afraid the girl would be upset, casually asked, "Yangyang, what do your parents do? Do you have any siblings?"

"Yes, I have an older brother. My parents... are both provincial government officials." Guo Guo didn't elaborate, immediately countering, "Auntie, how did your uncle get his leg injured?"

"He was injured fighting in Vietnam; it was amputated."

"Was your uncle ever an officer?"

"No officer whatsoever, just a junior deputy company commander. Then he was wounded and went back to civilian life. Actually, he was injured saving a young soldier."

Ding Hua spoke nonchalantly, but her tone still betrayed a hint of pride.

"Really!" Guo Guo's eyes lit up, and she asked with great interest. "How did you meet Uncle, Auntie?"

"Sigh, don't even mention it. It was all my own foolishness!" The fish was cooked, and Ding Hua ladled it out, rinsing the ladle as she spoke: "Back then, the country won a war. The whole nation was happy, and with the propaganda, girls were vying to marry heroes. His father lost his leg, so he was considered a hero too, and many girls wanted to be with him. Unfortunately, I was chosen by his father. Now, all those girls who couldn't compete with me back then thank me the moment they see me, haha."

Guo Guo smiled faintly, her eyes lingering: "Auntie, actually, Liu Jing also saved me, and he was injured too, spending over a month in the hospital. He definitely didn't tell you, did he?"

"Is that so?" Ding Hua, holding the ladle, was stunned. Liu Jing hadn't told her about his injury; after graduation, he went directly to S City. Although he had returned home and she had visited her son, she truly didn't know, and had no chance to see the scar.

Guo Guo nodded gently and told her the story. Upon hearing this, Ding Hua gasped, then grabbed the girl's shoulders and squeezed them hard several times: "This child, you've finally done something good. If anything happened to you, Auntie would be heartbroken!"

Guo Guo smiled, her eyes filled with gratitude.

"Sigh, it's really hard on you," Ding Hua sighed. "Yangyang, I see you can cook, help Auntie cook the remaining two dishes, and Auntie will taste your cooking. I'll go in and check on things."

Ding Hua hurried into the room, not only because she loved her son dearly, but also because, as a woman, she knew very well how much this incident would impact Guo Guo, potentially affecting his entire life. She had to find out the truth.

Liu Jing, having escaped his father, was resting in bed when his mother suddenly barged in.

He sat up, about to speak, when Ding Hua reached for his shirt buttons.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Liu Jing twisted away.

"Don't move, let Mom see!" Ding Hua pulled him back.

It must have been Guo Guo who said something. Liu Jing understood his mother's feelings and could only obediently let his mother do as she pleased. Ding Hua carefully unbuttoned his shirt and gently lifted it, revealing the hideous scar. It was shocking to see. Ding Hua felt both heartache and anger, and couldn't help but slap him: "You child, why didn't you tell your parents about something so serious?"

"Wasn't I afraid you'd worry?" Liu Jing flinched, feeling a warmth in his heart.

"It's all healed now, nothing's wrong."

Ding Hua looked at her son, her eyes filled with resentment, but she didn't say anything more: "Xiao Jing, tell Mom the truth, what really happened between you and Yangyang?"

"We're just classmates, nothing special. Didn't I tell you I have a girlfriend?" Liu Jing looked at his mother, his eyes filled with helplessness.

Ding Hua didn't know what to say, her eyes filled with worry. Liu Jing silently took out his phone and scrolled to a picture of Little Tiger: "Don't you want to see her picture? This is her."

Ding Hua was absent-minded and only glanced at it quickly: "Son, Mom doesn't mean to interfere, but what about Yangyang? Such a nice girl, she's completely smitten with you! She's already home!"

Liu Jing said helplessly: "Mom, she's my classmate, what's wrong with classmates visiting each other?"

"You're talking nonsense!" Ding Hua rolled her eyes at her son, "A girl likes you, knows you have a girlfriend, and still comes back with you, is that what you call a classmate?"

Liu Jing looked at his mother, not knowing what to say. Ding Hua sighed and said patiently, "Xiao Jing, girls all have a sense of belonging, and they're all stubborn. That's why they say 'marry a chicken, follow the chicken; marry a dog, follow the dog.' You might think saving her is insignificant, but that girl might have taken a swipe at your heart. It's not a big deal. You're acting like nothing happened now, but how can Yangyang get married again?"

"Mom, am I wrong? Am I just going to watch her get struck dead?"

"That's not what I meant!" Ding Hua snapped. "I just don't understand, what's wrong with Yangyang? Why don't you like her?"

Liu Jing was exasperated by her mother's words. Pointing at her phone, she bluntly said, "Then what do you suggest? Should I dump my girlfriend?"

Ding Hua was stunned for a moment, then sighed and looked at her phone again: "Do you like her?"

"Is that even a question?" Liu Jing looked at his mother, another headache washing over him. "I'm your son, don't you know that? You've been nagging me all this time, when have I ever had a girlfriend?"

"Alright then, Mom won't say any more." Ding Hua tossed him the phone, slapped her thigh, and got up to leave.

His mother had only glanced at it casually, not even asking about the little tiger's name, age, or background. Liu Jing caught the phone and asked urgently, "Mom, you still haven't told me? What do you think of my girlfriend?"

"Not good, nowhere near as good as Yangyang." Ding Hua said expressionlessly.

"What's wrong with her?" Liu Jing was both indignant and surprised.

"How can she not be bad!" Ding Hua turned and pointed at the phone. "Look, she's not as pretty as Yangyang, all chubby-cheeked, looks like she's got a strong will, her temper must be terrible. If you marry her, you'll be fighting all the time!"

"Don't talk nonsense! You haven't even met her yet and you're already labeling her, just like my dad!" Liu Jing almost fainted with anger. He was attracted to her chubby-cheeked look, and his mother saw it as a flaw!

Ding Hua couldn't help but laugh, turning to walk towards the door. She knew very well that the girl on the phone was no less attractive than Guo Yang; the main difference was their type. Guo Yang was gentle and obedient, the submissive type, which left a better impression. Plus, she already knew Guo Yang's background, so she had a preconceived notion.

Liu Jing glanced at his mother's retreating figure, indignant, and carefully put his phone away.

Ding Hua stopped abruptly at the door, seemingly pondering something, then slowly turned back: "Son, how about this? Mom will find a way to keep Yangyang for you. The day you break up with your girlfriend, you can immediately marry Yangyang."

"What? You're obsessed with finding a wife! Isn't this reckless?" Liu Jing nearly fell to the ground in shock.

"What reckless? Mom likes Yangyang very much!" Ding Hua was determined, not giving an inch.

“Even if I like her, it won’t work!” Liu Jing stood up and said firmly, “Mom, let me tell you clearly, I like my girlfriend too, and I won’t break up with her. Don’t mess around and ruin Guo Guo’s future!”

“Then don’t worry about it, Mom has a plan.” Ding Hua said dismissively and happily went out.

Liu Jing stood there, still dizzy. Taking the governor’s daughter as a backup daughter-in-law, how could his mother even think of that!

May at the seaside is different. Even at the bright midday sun, even sitting at home, you can still feel the refreshing and pleasant atmosphere of the sea.

In the Liu family’s dining room, the delicacies were plentiful, and the aroma of wine filled the air. At the large dining table, Liu Jing and his son each occupied one side, while Ding Hua and the bowed-headed Miss Guo shared the other side. This scene, though not intense, was still sentimental, much like a new bride’s first visit to her new home.

Liu Jing remained aloof, observing to see how his mother would "keep" Guo Guo. In his view, women's minds were always richer than men's, often brimming with strange ideas. Men, on the other hand, were simpler and more direct, their thoughts mostly revolving around women and money. Therefore, women were prone to fantasy, while men enjoyed daydreaming—such differences between men and women.

Sure enough, Ding Hua announced some major news at the start of the meal: "His dad, Xiao Jing, I have something to tell you. I've just adopted Yangyang as my goddaughter. From now on, we're family." She then glanced smugly at her son.

Guo Guo lowered her head, her pretty face flushed, her dimples brimming with joy, even her eyelashes seemed to dance. Liu Jing chuckled inwardly, thinking it was some clever trick, but it was too old-fashioned, lacking both creativity and feasibility.

Liu Weihua, unaware of the situation, paused, his wine glass sloshing, "Why did you suddenly adopt a goddaughter? Isn't that redundant?"

Guo Guo was embarrassed, shrinking her head so low it was almost touching her neck. Ding Hua glanced at him hastily: "What do you know? We only have one son, what's wrong with adopting a daughter?"

Liu Weihua was confused, frowned, and was about to say something when Ding Hua interrupted, "Let's eat first, the food's getting cold. After dinner, I'll take you for a walk, we can talk about it later." Ding Hua was afraid her husband would say something at the table, worried that Guo Guo would be embarrassed, and that her son would lose face too.

Liu Weihua looked around without saying anything more, seemingly sensing something was amiss.

"Alright. Let's eat." Ding Hua poured her husband some baijiu and then picked up a beer. "Son, drink whatever you want, nobody's stopping you. Come on, Yangyang, pour yourself a drink, have a drink with your godmother."

Guo Guo smiled awkwardly, holding his glass. He stole a glance at Liu Jing; Liu Jing glared at him and opened a can of Sprite; Liu Weihua stared at her son. She snorted heavily. What a useless brat, not even as good as a woman, can't even handle a drink!

After pouring the beer, Ding Hua placed a spicy crab on Guo Guo's plate: "Here you go, Yangyang, eat."

"Thank you, godmother."

Liu Jing broke out in a cold sweat; this girl, she called him that way too smoothly! Ding Hua was beaming with joy and said to Liu Jing, "Son, I heard from Yangyang that you used to only see each other every two or three months. That won't do! Now Yangyang is my goddaughter. You have to take good care of her and visit her often. If you dare to let Yangyang suffer, I won't forgive you!"

Guo Guo, now with someone to rely on, was overjoyed and winked at him smugly.

Liu Jing ignored his mother's words and also placed a piece of food on Guo Guo's plate. He grinned mischievously and said, "Guo Guo, have you thought this through? Once you become my goddaughter, we'll be like brother and sister. You have to respect me as your older brother and listen to me."

Guo Guo pouted and looked to her godmother for help, feeling wronged. Ding Hua put down her chopsticks: "What's wrong with siblings? They're not blood relatives, why are you making such a fuss?" Then she smiled: "Yangyang, don't listen to him. If he dares to bully you, call your godmother, and I'll stand up for you!"

Liu Weihua was even more suspicious and wanted to say something, but Ding Hua raised her glass: "His dad, today is Yangyang's first time having dinner at home, and he's recognized me as his godmother. We're now blessed with both a son and a daughter. Come on, let's all have a toast!"

Everyone raised their glasses, and the meal began in a lighthearted yet somewhat strange atmosphere.

After dinner, Ding Hua dragged her husband out shopping, leaving the two little ones alone.

Liu Jing leaned against the bed to rest. Guo Guo finished washing the dishes and came up to him with a smile: "Liu Jing, do you think I should call you by your name from now on? Or should I call you Brother Jing?"

"Brother Jing?!" Liu Jing was horrified. "Why don't you just call me Brother Jing? Your teeth are so sour!"

"Hehe, I like it!" Guo Guo happily shook his arm. Liu Jing sighed and turned to her, "Guo Guo, what else did my mom say to you?"

A hint of sadness flashed in Guo Guo's eyes, "She didn't say anything, but I understand what she meant."

"What did she mean?" Liu Jing asked warily.

Guo Guo smiled helplessly, "She wants us to be together often so your girlfriend will get angry."

Wow! Mom's too cunning, Liu Jing suddenly realized. First, she'd make Guo Guo her goddaughter, then have the two of them see each other frequently, constantly provoking Xiao Laohu. Because of Guo Guo's goddaughter status and her mother's backing, Xiao Laohu would have no way to complain. Over time, things would inevitably change, thus subtly breaking them up. This trick is indeed vicious. How come I didn't think of that? It seems I can never underestimate women again.

Liu Jing asked intently, "How did you know?"

"I guessed." Guo Guo turned away weakly, her expression utterly desolate.

Liu Jing's heart ached again: "Why did you tell me?"

"I promised to be good friends with your girlfriend, how could I break you two up?" Guo Guo looked at him, her eyes filled with pity.

Liu Jing stared helplessly at the air before him, a deep reluctance filling his heart. He reached out and pulled her to his side.

Guo Guo obediently nestled beside him, glancing at him with a wronged expression: "You already have a girlfriend, why are you hugging me?"

"Hugging my sister, I'll hug my sister," Liu Jing said blankly.

"You bad boy." Guo Guo gently hugged his waist and nestled into him.

Holding Guo Guo's delicate body, Liu Jing felt an indescribable sense of loss and confusion. If time travel truly existed, he would definitely take the two girls back to ancient times without hesitation, and the three of them would live happily ever after, even if it meant farming, weaving, feeding horses, and chopping wood, as long as they could be together.

For the next two days, Liu Jing led Guo Guo to explore the beautiful scenery of his hometown. Hand in hand, they climbed mountains to watch the sunrise and strolled along the beach to watch the sunset. The fragrance of wildflowers in the deep mountains clung to their clothes, and their footprints were indelible on the sandy beach. They were filled with happiness, and their sadness faded.

Regardless of Ding Hua's motives, the title of brother and sister reduced a lot of their pressure.

People always need excuses to live. Feelings are no exception.

Chapter 58 Hugging His Sister

On the afternoon of the 5th, the two ate dinner early, bid farewell to their parents, and took the 4 pm express bus back to S City, because Liu Jing was going to take Duo Duo to the park on the 6th and had a date with Little Tiger on the 7th. For two days, the little tiger had suffered the pangs of lovesickness, longing and yearning. Liu Jing wished he could fly back immediately.

On the way home, the two spoke casually, their conversation seemingly normal. The scenery flashed past the window, as if reflecting the events of the past few days. As the car entered S City, Guo Guo finally couldn't hold back her sadness and nudged him with her shoulder. She pouted, "Liu Jing, I'm really not talking to you anymore."

Liu Jing couldn't help but laugh, "Guo Guo, don't think about it. We're destined to be siblings in this life, accept it. In the next life, let's be husband and wife."

"I don't want to meet you again in the next life," Guo Guo pushed up her glasses, angrily turning her head to look out the window. They were almost home; the happy days of the past few days were about to end. Suddenly, she felt intensely jealous, unable to suppress it. Hadn't she already come to terms with it? How could this be?

She kept asking herself, she had never been so jealous before, it was so painful!

Liu Jing felt bad too, so he pulled her close again, and Guo Guo leaned on his shoulder. She felt much calmer. Liu Jing was helpless; their embrace was no longer innocent, but he couldn't find any other way to comfort her.

The bus reached its destination under the night sky, and the two stepped back onto the soil of S City. Guo Guo's mood recovered as she returned to reality.

"Don't forget to treat me to dinner, don't forget to return my electric scooter, and introduce me to your girlfriend," Guo Guo instructed before parting.

"Okay, I won't forget," Liu Jing replied gently, a smile on his face.

Guo Guo thought for a moment and then added, "These three things must be done separately. You can't return the scooter, have dinner, and introduce me to your girlfriend all at once. You have to do them one at a time!"

"Okay, one at a time," Liu Jing smiled again, somewhat helplessly. "Guo Guo, we're already like brother and sister. If you want to see each other, just call. Why make up excuses?"

"I feel... it's more comfortable to have an excuse," Guo Guo said somewhat embarrassedly, but her words were honest.

Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated: "What kind of talk is that? We're not having an affair!"

"Heh! I think it does!"

"Alright, stop talking nonsense!"

Liu Jing snapped, then hailed a taxi for her by the roadside. Their addresses were completely opposite, so hailing a taxi would be a waste. Guo Guo reluctantly walked up to him, looking pitiful: "Liu Jing, I need to go home."

"What's wrong with going home?" Liu Jing asked casually as he waved for a taxi.

"Aren't you going to give me another hug?" Guo Guo tilted her head back, the moonlight and lamplight illuminating her stubborn face.

"Another hug? Another hug and it really will be an affair!"

"Isn't it hugging my sister?" Guo Guo pouted.

"Hug what sister? Do you even consider yourself my sister?" The taxi arrived, and Liu Jing opened the back door, shoving her inside.

"Don't forget those three things, don't drag them out, and don't do them all at once, or I'll tell Mom!" Guo Guo grumbled incessantly, extremely unwilling.

"Alright, alright, I know, let's go."

The car drove away, getting further and further away. Guo Guo turned her head back, leaving behind many glances and disappointment.

"He shouldn't have a girlfriend, he can't have a girlfriend." Liu Jing hailed a taxi and drove off in the opposite direction. Guo Guo turned around, muttering to herself. Several days had passed, and she felt she had come to terms with it, but she still couldn't help wanting to tell him, even though the words were on the tip of her tongue several times, she rationally restrained herself.

The streetlights were bright, and Guo Guo's heart gradually brightened. The city shimmered in the night, beautiful and dreamlike. She adjusted her glasses and looked out the window, her gaze like a butterfly fluttering in the air.

"Being a younger sister is good too," Guo Guo smiled, thinking to herself.

The lights at home were always so warm, making her heart feel warm. Guo Guo gently closed the bedroom door and walked towards the living room. Bai Xiaoqing and Vice Governor Guo were watching TV on the sofa, also waiting for her to come home. When they saw her return, they both turned around, their eyes filled with the loving gaze only parents could give.

"Dad, Mom, I'm back," Guo Guo greeted her parents obediently.

Bai Xiaoqing stepped forward and hugged her daughter, looking her over and asking, "How was it? Yangyang, was Xiao Jing's house fun? Are his parents nice to you?" She had already learned about Guo Guo and Liu Jing's itinerary by phone.

"It's great. His mother even considers me her goddaughter," Guo Guo replied.

"A goddaughter?" Bai Xiaoqing was both surprised and amused, glancing at her husband, feeling it was unnecessary. Guo Ting laughed and said, "That's great! First they're close, then they'll become even closer, haha!" The Vice Governor Guo teased his beloved daughter with revolutionary optimism. Guo Guo

blushed and smiled, remaining silent. Bai Xiaoqing asked again, "When is Xiao Jing coming over for dinner?"

"Mom, I don't want to have dinner with him anymore," Guo Guo said calmly, looking at her mother. "I've reconsidered. I don't want you to get involved; I want to handle it myself. I can handle it myself."

"What's wrong with Mom and Dad getting involved?" Bai Xiaoqing asked, puzzled. Guo Guo stubbornly said, "Your identities are special, he'll feel pressured. I'm all grown up now, I don't want to rely on you for everything."

Bai Xiaoqing wanted to say something, but Guo Ting waved his hand, "Fine, times have changed. You're both young, do what you want, Mom and Dad support you."

Bai Xiaoqing didn't say anything more, but she didn't understand. Guo Guo said again, "Dad, Mom, I'm tired, I need to go upstairs and lie down for a while."

"Go ahead, go ahead, eat something first, then take a shower and get some rest."

Guo Ting looked at his beloved daughter kindly.

"Thank you, Dad." Guo Guo nodded and quickly went upstairs. Bai Xiaoqing sat down again, watching her daughter's back, feeling indescribably worried. Her daughter was very determined, and she knew that saying more would be useless.

Guo Guo returned to her room, immediately closed the door, and stood nervously in front of the large mirror.

"Guo Yang, we're late! He has a girlfriend, just a few days away! What should we do?"

The Guo Yang in the mirror was silent for a moment, then asked, "Does he like you a lot?"

"Yes," Guo Guo nodded, happy.

Guo Yang asked again, "If you had told him earlier, would he definitely have accepted?"

"Yes," Guo Guo nodded, regretting her words.

Guo Yang asked again, "If you had listened to me, wouldn't you have succeeded already?"

"Yes," Guo Guo nodded, looking distressed.

Guo Yang sighed, "Then what are you hesitating for? Hurry up and win him back!"

"How can I?" Guo Guo was worried and anxious, "We were late ourselves, how can we do this?"

The person in the mirror said bluntly, "Why not? He can't have another girlfriend! Don't be silly, tell him everything, he'll definitely come back."

Guo Guo fell silent, her heart heavy with worry.

Guo Yang said again, "Guo Guo, this is our happiness for life. Don't hesitate any longer, or it will be too late!"

"Does loving someone mean you have to be together?" Guo Guo couldn't accept the idea of breaking up someone else to gain happiness.

"Of course, otherwise why do you love him?" Guo Yang was getting angry.

"I don't think so," Guo Guo said calmly but stubbornly. "I believe that loving someone is about loving them in your own way. As long as they're happy, as long as they're joyful, aren't we happy too?"

Guo Yang was furious: "Guo Guo, you're so useless! I feel ashamed to share a body with you!"

Guo Guo suddenly felt that the person in the mirror was a complete stranger, like someone she had never met before. Her face was cold as she said, "Guo Yang, since you don't support me, fine, this is the last time I'll speak to you. I won't talk to you anymore!"

A sigh escaped her eyes...

Chapter Fifty-Nine: What's with the Virgin's Arrogance?

Liang Shiqiu once commented on women in his essay "The Elegant Abode," saying that with three sofas, a woman could arrange them into countless formations. Liu Jing thought it was an exaggeration, but now that he was inside, he believed it, without a doubt. It wasn't just a few formations; the variations were no less impressive than the Sixty-Four Formations of Zhuge Liang! The

changes in the house were too great, not just in the placement of items, but even the furniture had been replaced! The familiar fabric sofa was gone, replaced by an Italian leather sofa that gleamed with an aristocratic light under the soft lighting; the twenty-nine large color TV had grown larger and thinner in just a few days, becoming a thirty-four-inch ultra-thin model; and the refrigerator had gone from a regular Xinfei deluxe version to a Haier dual-unit model. He wasn't unfamiliar with these things; he had seen them all at Yu Xia's house. But where was his furniture? Had it all been thrown into the storage room?! Although Yu Xia had told him on the phone that the house had been completely renovated, and he was mentally prepared, he was still speechless when he actually saw it.

He walked blankly into the living room, and the sound of running water from the bathroom was very enticing.

"You're back?" The water stopped, and Yu Xia's excited and joyful voice came out.

"Hmph! If you didn't say anything, I would have thought I had the wrong house," Liu Jing said irritably, putting down what he was holding.

A giggle came from the bathroom, and then the door opened a crack, revealing Yu Xia's smooth and beautiful face: "Weren't you supposed to be back tomorrow? Why are you here early?" "

I said I was taking Duo Duo to the park on the 6th, I didn't say I would be back on the 6th." Liu Jing was a little dazed. Through the crack in the door, he saw Yu Xia's naked body displaying its most beautiful form indistinctly in the steam.

"Are you satisfied with my renovation?" Yu Xia asked with a smile, her pearly teeth and bright eyes shining.

"Satisfied? You have the nerve to ask?" Liu Jing was blunt. "I'm asking you, where did all my furniture go?"

"I sold it to you cheaply!" Yu Xia raised her eyebrows and said nonchalantly.

"Sold...sold! Are you kidding me?" Liu Jing said angrily, "They were all new, and I bought them at a high price!"

"What's your rush?" Yu Xia smiled disdainfully. "My furniture is also quite new, isn't it better than yours? Why use inferior furniture when you have better ones? I'll have to buy new ones when I move. I can just leave all of this to you."

"Leave it to me! How can you even say that?" Liu Jing quickly went to his room and looked around. Sure enough, the upholstered bed was gone, replaced by the one he had a one-night stand with Yu Xia. He pointed: "You're not going to leave me even the bed, are you?"

"So what? This is a waterbed, I bought it for over eight thousand!" Yu Xia said indignantly.

"You're really something!" Liu Jing was furious. "My bed is for our wedding, do you expect me to use yours?"

"Go away, stop teasing me!" Yu Xia frowned, then couldn't help but laugh. "Silly boy. What's wrong with a waterbed? It saves energy and provides leverage. You should be secretly happy!"

Liu Jing was speechless; he understood what Yu Xia meant.

The steam in the bathroom gradually dissipated, and Yu Xia transformed from an indistinct beauty into a wet mermaid. Water droplets danced on her body, her wet hair half in front and half back, casually draped over her shoulders; her large breasts trembled slightly, her nipples erect and pert; her slender waist, her wide hips below, and the dark, oily patch between her hips and thighs, all unabashedly displayed the primal beauty of womanhood.

Liu Jing admired her openly, without a trace of lust in his eyes; Yu Xia, unabashed, simply opened the door wider.

It was the sixth day since they officially started living together, and their first meeting after that. In this way, both normal and unusual. But who can say this way is inappropriate?

Liu Jing nodded, praising, "Yu Xia, your figure is amazing! You have the best of both worlds!"

This was the second time Liu Jing had sincerely praised her, this time adding the phrase "the best of both worlds." Yu Xia was filled with mixed feelings of shyness and joy, with joy outweighing shyness. Her eyes lit up immediately: "You like to look? I'll let you look to your heart's content in a bit!"

"No need, this is best. Lying across the bed, you'll scare me half to death." Liu Jing chuckled, reluctantly walking towards the door.

"Hmph! Useless thing!" Yu Xia slammed the door shut.

Liu Jing shook his head and went into the room to rest.

A short while later, the door opened, and a fragrant breeze carrying the scent of bath gel wafted in. Yu Xia came in after showering, her wet hair tied up on top of her head, wearing a small nightgown, her breasts trembling, her two snow-white, full thighs gleaming alluringly.

"Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?" Yu asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"It's...it's alright." Liu Jing was comfortably lying down when Yu Xia's large buttocks sat on the waterbed, causing him to sway back and forth. He hadn't even finished speaking.

Yu Xia chuckled, her eyes sparkling, and said, "Looks like you're not quite used to this bed yet. Want me to teach you?"

"Stop talking nonsense!" Liu Jing said sternly, trying to sit up.

Yu Xia smiled beautifully and gently pushed him back down with her slender hand. "Lie down. I'll go heat something up for you."

With that, Yu Xia gracefully left, her large, beautiful buttocks swaying alluringly beneath her nightgown. Liu Jing watched, sighing inwardly. Living with a woman like this, if he didn't have a girlfriend, he had no doubt that the two of them would have many wonderful and interesting things happen, night after night. But now, he really didn't know if he was lucky or unlucky.

Soon, the food was heated up, and Yu Xia called him from the dining room. Liu Jing pushed off with his legs, his upper body suddenly swaying upward. This bed really did save him effort.

It was late, so Yu Xia didn't splurge. She heated up some chicken stew with mushrooms, stir-fried some bamboo shoots, and served a bowl of white rice. The simple meal looked delicious under the lamplight. Liu Jing ate with great relish.

Yu Xia sat beside him, watching him with satisfaction and contentment.

"When did you move?" Liu Jing asked between bites.

"The day after you left."

"You moved in quickly."

"What do you mean?" Yu Xia glared at him, displeased. "I'm telling you, our cohabitation starts tomorrow."

"I was just saying, why are you so nervous?" Liu Jing chuckled.

"Ugh! How can I not be nervous?" Yu Xia rolled her eyes, looking aggrieved. "Let me tell you, I'm scared of you now, afraid I'll offend you!"

"Who's afraid of who?" Liu Jing said with a wry smile. "I'd like to kick you out, but can you?"

Yu Xia chuckled and grabbed his arm. "Hey, seriously, about us living together. Have you told your girlfriend?"

"It's not living together, it's borrowing your place, the two are different," Liu Jing emphasized solemnly.

"Why are you talking so much nonsense?" Yu Xia hit him lightly. "Did you tell her or not?"

"I just got back, I haven't even seen her yet, how can I tell her?" Mentioning the little tiger, Liu Jing felt troubled again. Yu Xia had brought him here without his permission and forced him to confess; he didn't know whether to be grateful or resentful.

Yu Xia sighed. Looking at him sincerely, she said, "You'd better hurry, I still need to write a report to ask for leave."

Liu Jing put down his chopsticks and turned to her. "You really want us to go on a trip with you?"

"Of course, I'm serious." Yu Xia was a little anxious, and even a little aggrieved.

"Let's all go out together, get to know each other better, and strengthen our relationships. What's wrong with that? It'll save you from having to worry all the time."

Liu Jing was somewhat tempted. There was nothing wrong with it; why hide it? Being open and honest would be better for everyone.

Seeing this, Yu Xia grabbed his arm again and said, "Liu Jing, I want to discuss something with you. If your girlfriend doesn't object, and you don't plan to live together before marriage, can I stay a little longer?"

Upon hearing this, Liu Jing immediately turned back, his earlier scheming calming down. "Are you dreaming? If we live in the same house, it'll be suspicious all the time. She's already being kind by letting you stay. Do you think she'd be happy, willing, or begging you to stay long-term?"

"So you want me to bring her along and talk to her?" Yu Xia was also dissatisfied.

"Alright, tell me, how are you going to tell her?" Liu Jing put down his chopsticks again, turned to her, and said, "Tell her you already consider me your husband, that you want to be with me for life, and that something will happen between us sooner or later. Do you dare tell her?"

Yu Xia fell silent, looking at him pitifully, pouting, and resting her forehead on his shoulder. Of course she didn't dare. If Liu Jing could be considered innocent, then her motives were sinful.

Liu Jing knew what she was thinking, sighed, and patted her bare knees under the table to comfort her. Yu Xia felt a tenderness in her heart, so grateful. This little man was so gentle. She was increasingly convinced that she hadn't misjudged him, and she was increasingly reluctant to let him go.

"How did you move? Did you hire a moving company? Or did you find someone?" This question was a headache, so Liu Jing changed the subject.

"Of course I found someone." Yu Xia looked up, still holding his arm, "The police force has so many people and vehicles, why waste money?"

"Isn't your team all women?" Liu Jing glanced at her and asked.

"Can't I ask someone else for help?" Yu Xia asked, somewhat dejectedly, then leaned on his shoulder. "My husband used to be the captain of the criminal investigation team. We traffic police have a lot of duties, so I asked the public security bureau to send a few people."

"Aren't you afraid of gossip?" Liu Jing was greatly surprised that she would ask her deceased husband's subordinates for help.

"What a joke! I, Qin Yu Xia, am not afraid of gossip at all!" Yu Xia straightened up abruptly, waving her hand and saying arrogantly, "Back when I was pursuing my husband, that woman caused a huge scene in both the public security and traffic police systems. The gossip was all over me, even the political commissar of the branch talked to me! So what? I still got my promotions, I still got my promotions, I still got my official position!"

"You're impressive, really impressive." Liu Jing looked at the person beside him and nodded coldly.

"Of course, I, Qin Yu Xia, fear neither heaven nor earth. I can handle anything, I'm capable in public and in the kitchen. Who am I afraid of? It's only because I have Duo Duo, otherwise do you think I would let you off the hook?

Your little tiger can just keep to herself!" Yu Xia's tone became increasingly arrogant.

“Okay, I thank you on her behalf.” Liu Jing pushed the bowl away, stood up, and said, “Now that I’m finished eating, please, Captain Qin, come into the kitchen again and wash the dishes.”

“Hey, you little man, you still…” Yu Xia stood up like a fighting rooster.

“By the way!” Liu Jing suddenly turned around, staring at her and asked, “You’ve completely rearranged my house, so you know exactly where everything is now, right?”

“That’s right.” Yu Xia proudly raised her head, “I searched the whole place, how was it?”

“Not good.” Liu Jing wiped his mouth, “I’m going to take a shower and go to bed. After you wash the dishes, find my underwear!”

“Hey, hey, hey you…” Yu Xia’s eyes widened, pointing at him.

Liu Jing ignored her, leisurely went back to his room, and slammed the door shut.

“What’s with the arrogance of a virgin? Humph!” Yu Xia grabbed the dirty bowl, wiggled her sexy buttocks, and went into the kitchen.

Liang Shiqiu once said in “The Elegant Abode” that the number one characteristic of men is laziness, and Liu Jing absolutely believed that. Yu Xia moved in, and he was reluctant, but not without satisfaction. What man wouldn't want a beautiful woman to serve him? Especially someone as exquisite as Yu Xia. Having a woman in the house was actually quite nice. The moment he returned home, he shamelessly assumed his role.

Liu Jing bossed her around for a while before leaving. Yu Xia washed the dishes, a happy yet shy smile on her face, her heart overflowing with joy. Her former husband was gentle and capable, spoiling her like a child. This man was so different, yet she felt a different kind of happiness. Being a woman was truly wonderful. A different man, a completely new life—she didn't need to prepare; she simply stepped into the role.

The light inside was warm and inviting, the night outside the window was quiet and gentle, the moon, smiling, lazily drifting across the sky. Liu Jing, wearing a shirt, sat waiting, gazing at the moonlight.

After washing the dishes, Yu Xia sat down next to him with a bathrobe. "I bought this a couple of days ago. Summer's almost here. It's fine if you live alone, but now that my daughter and I are moving in, I don't mind. Duo Duo's still so young, don't walk around in your underwear all the time." "

What do you mean you don't mind? Duo Duo's so young, what does she understand?" Liu Jing sat up, warning, "Yu Xia, don't say I didn't tell you, you're moving in, but you absolutely cannot seduce me in any way. That's the bottom line."

"Hehehe." Yu Xia's eyes sparkled, and she giggled. "It's okay, if I break that rule, as long as you don't kick me out, I'll let you punish me however you want." As she spoke, she shifted her hips, sat on his lap, and blew a puff of breath at him.

Liu Jing felt dizzy, his lower body stirring. He quickly pushed her away, grabbed his clothes, and left. Yu Xia lay on the bed, her two snow-white legs crossed, giggling incessantly.

Sexiness isn't just about exposure; it's about emotional manipulation. That's the highest level. As women age and gain more worldly experience, the accumulation of years makes their sex appeal even more intense, and Yu Xia is undoubtedly a prime example.

The bathroom still lingered with Yu Xia's fragrance. Liu Jing stood where Yu Xia had just been, letting the water wash over his body. Legend has it that good women often have a natural fragrance, an aura released from a woman's profound inner qualities and inherent charm. Yu Xia was undoubtedly a good woman—beautiful, with a great figure, a good personality, capable, and quite wealthy. She also had a respectable profession; she was practically flawless. Yu Xia said she was presentable in public and capable in the kitchen—but that wasn't all; she probably also had excellent teeth. He couldn't remember the taste of that night, but he had no doubt about it.

Living with Yu Xia was something many high-ranking officials and wealthy men dreamed of. He didn't deny that he was despicable, and deep down he felt awesome, but he couldn't feel any excitement. He had just had a little tiger, and now he found that Guo Guo was still in his heart, and there was a fiery woman in his home who could ignite at any moment. He felt very guilty towards Fang Xi.

Liu Jing washed slowly and calmly. Then he put on the bathrobe Yu Xia had prepared. It was a cotton bathrobe, a loose shirt and a pair of shorts, similar in style to those in bathhouses, but of significantly higher quality and very comfortable. It was just a little awkward that his lower body felt loose.

Nothing happened that night; the two spent their first night officially living together in separate rooms.

The next morning, before Liu Jing was fully awake, he heard someone come in. He opened his sleepy eyes and saw Yu Xia lift the covers and quickly slip into his bed, her warm, soft body embracing him tightly.

Before going to Tibet, Yu Xia had already stayed one night and behaved herself, so he hadn't locked the door.

"What are you doing here?" The morning sun was strong, and Liu Jing blinked hard.

"Nothing much, just finished using the toilet and saw you hadn't locked the door, so I came to lie down for a while."

Yu Xia leaned closer to him, her slender hand reaching down to grasp his large member inside his shorts.

"Yu Xia, why are you here again?" Liu Jing frowned deeply.

"Why make such a fuss!" Yu Xia said impatiently, "Let me hold your hand for a while. It's not like I've never done it before!"

“Things were different back then, I have a girlfriend now!” Liu Jing leaned forward, “Didn’t we agree on this?”

“Just for a little while, my dear husband, please.” Yu Xia looked at him coquettishly, her slender hands gently playing with his.

Liu Jing patiently said, “Yu Xia, I understand you, I agreed to your conditions before I left, but I’m a man, can’t you respect me a little?”

“How am I not respecting you?” Yu Xia pulled her hand back, twisting her body wildly, and said bitterly, “I’m your woman, you won’t let me use you, you won’t let me touch you, are you trying to kill me?”

Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated, patting her back to comfort her, “Yu Xia, if you’re really upset, another day… another day I’ll buy you a fake one, the electric kind?”

“Get lost!” Yu Xia burst out laughing, patting his chest, “I don’t want one, I want the real one!”

Liu Jing chuckled. He was just saying it casually, just joking. However, judging from Yu Xia's figure and appearance, and her behavior in bed, if she were really wearing a police uniform, that thing would definitely be incredibly alluring! He only made a casual movement, and his manhood started throbbing, so he quickly stopped.

Yu Xia didn't notice, and was frowning as she thought about something when she suddenly slapped him again: "Hey, you can buy me one, but it has to be similar to your size!"

"You really want me to buy one? How embarrassing!" Liu Jing was utterly bewildered.

"Hmph!" Yu Xia knew he was talking nonsense, glanced at him disdainfully, and crouched down to crawl under the covers.

"What are you going to do now?"

Yu Xia didn't answer, but pulled down his shorts and examined his enormous genitals.

"Ah..." Yu Xia's large, fragrant buttocks were right in front of him, and he swallowed hard. "Yu Xia, what's there to see? Are you going to buy it yourself?"

"If you won't buy it for me, I can't buy it myself!" Yu Xia finished looking, pulled up his shorts, and lay back down next to him.

Liu Jing was embarrassed and didn't know what to say, looking at her with a guilty conscience. Although it was a joke, it was really disgusting to make a woman buy such a thing to solve her problem.

Yu Xia glanced at it and pressed it against his chest: "Don't think nonsense, I bought it for another purpose." "

What purpose?" Yu Xia seemed very serious, and he asked curiously. What else could that thing be used for? He really couldn't figure it out.

"Don't ask, you'll know when the time comes." Yu Xia's face flushed slightly, with a beautiful shyness.

Liu Jing didn't ask any more questions, although he really wanted to know when that "when the time comes."

Yu Xia shrank back and buried her face in his chest: "Honey, after you and your girlfriend have your first time, you really have to give it to me. I'm a woman too, and even if I'm not good enough for you, it still hurts me to give you away like this."

"Why are you thinking such nonsense again!" Liu Jing couldn't bear it and quickly hugged her. For some reason, every time he heard Yu Xia say such things, he felt unbearable. He felt that his feelings for this first woman in his life were more than just pity.

Yu Xia smiled mischievously and slowly leaned close to his ear: "Honey, don't be upset. Wait until I buy it. I'll show you!"

Liu Jing frowned: "Stop fooling around. We still have to take Duo Duo to the park later. It's about time to get up."

Yu Xia chuckled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She hugged his neck tightly and lay down again.

This topic was erotic, but not strange. Freud said that whether man or woman, as long as they dream, they are erotic. The master's words are beyond question.

The two lay quietly side by side, and Yu Xia asked again: "Was Tibet fun?"

"It was alright."

"Who did you go with?"

"A classmate."

"A guy and a girl?"

"Yes, a girl."

Chapter Sixty Crawling Under the Covers

"What? A girl!" Yu Xia rolled onto him. She said resentfully, "You little man, you're too much! It's good enough that you have a girlfriend, and now a female classmate pops up! I'm not doing this anymore, you have to marry me right now!" Yu Xia seemed aggrieved, yet also coquettish, twisting wildly on him.

"Stop fooling around!" Liu Jing snapped. "I told you she's a classmate!"

"Really?"

"Yeah." Liu Jing nodded, his expression slightly somber.

Yu Xia stared at him blankly, then regained her composure: "You like her?"

Liu Jing was silent for a moment, then his gaze shifted to her face: "Do you want to hear the truth or a lie?"

"Isn't that obvious!" Yu Xia climbed off him, lay down beside him, and prepared to listen to the story.

Liu Jing sighed inwardly and said truthfully, "That's right, I like her too, but I didn't realize it before. I only realized it this time."

"That's not surprising." Yu Xia waved her hand. "There are many cases like this among classmates. They search around for a long time before realizing what they want, and then they come back together."

Liu Jing nodded, then suddenly realized something and leaned forward, saying, "Hey, don't talk nonsense. Little Tiger and I are doing great, and I won't go back!"

Yu Xia pouted, "Then it depends on which one you like more?"

"I don't know, but I like them both." Liu Jing lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. "I was just telling you, I haven't really thought about this. I liked Little Tiger the moment I saw her, and I never want to be apart from her in this life."

"Wow, that's really loyal!" Yu Xia glanced at him sourly, "What does your classmate do? Is she pretty?"

"She's a junior reporter, quite pretty."

"Which newspaper? Is she from S City?" Yu Xia rolled her eyes, looking very indignant.

Liu Jing smiled, turned to look at her, and said, "Yu Xia, don't be so unconvinced. She's much more capable than you. To put it bluntly, your so-called squad leader is nothing but a sesame seed in her eyes."

"What kind of reporter is she? So powerful!" Yu Xia drawled, both jealous and angry.

A woman will never admit defeat in front of a rival, even if it's only a subtle one, especially since Yu Xia had even openly snatched her ex-husband from another woman.

Liu Jing laughed, "What kind of reporter she is isn't important. The key is that she's the daughter of Vice Governor Guo."

"Wow! Really?" Yu Xia sat up abruptly, her mouth agape. "Then you... you still..."

"I still what?" Liu Jing sat up and asked with a smile.

"Heh, nothing, hehe!" Yu Xia patted him on the shoulder. "I mean, I mean you're quite the man. Hehe, I, Qin Yu Xia, didn't misjudge you. Being with you, this little man, is worth it!"

Faced with power, Yu Xia readily retreated.

Liu Jing chuckled mischievously, "Looks like I'll have to act a little more sleazy from now on, so you won't keep bothering me."

"Go away! You're not getting away from me for life, just be my little husband!" Yu Xia, blushing and happy, couldn't help but lean into his arms.

Liu Jing snorted, not bothering to argue with her.

Yu Xia suddenly remembered something and leaned closer, saying, "By the way, Liu Jing, you and Little Tiger are so close, you must have kissed, right? Shouldn't you give me your secondhand kiss?"

"What secondhand..." Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated, quickly waving his hands. "Don't talk nonsense, we've only just started, how can it be so fast!"

Although Liu Jing said this, he couldn't suppress his smugness. Yu Xia stared at him for a while, "No, you're lying to me, you definitely kissed!"

"No, no, I'm not lying to you!" Liu Jing shook his head, unable to hide his smile.

"Stop it! I want it now!" Yu Xia suddenly pounced on him, straddling him. She opened her mouth and forcefully kissed him.

"Hey! Are you crazy!"

Liu Jing fought back fiercely.

"It's mine to begin with, give it back to me!" Yu Xia was truly like a madwoman.

The two grabbed and wrestled. Laughing and joking, they rolled around on the bed. Liu Jing was a man, strong; Yu Xia, a graduate of the criminal police academy, was also quite strong. They were evenly matched.

Just as they were locked in a fierce struggle, they heard footsteps outside the door, and the two stopped abruptly.

Duo Duo, wearing a shirt and shorts, barefoot, stood in the doorway, staring blankly at her parents.

Their chaotic play had left them disheveled and their clothes in disarray. Liu Jing's shirt was ripped open,

revealing his frightening chest; Yu Xia was on top of him, her robe pulled up to her waist, her big buttocks sticking up high. If it was a forced kiss, it was a forced kiss; if it was self-defense, it was self-defense. Why were they grabbing each other's clothes?

Yu Xia pulled off her pajamas and quickly crawled under the covers; Liu Jing also quickly covered himself with his shirt, not wanting to frighten the child.

Duo Duo didn't seem to notice their state. She didn't understand, only felt surprised and happy because her father was back. "Daddy!" Duo Duo called softly.

Liu Jing straightened his clothes and smiled, "Duo Duo, Daddy will take you to the park today, okay?"

"Okay, okay! Daddy will take you to the park!" Duo Duo shouted, running onto the bed in a few quick steps and slipping under the covers, even faster than her mother.

Liu Jing was taken aback and unconsciously looked to his side. Yu Xia secretly pinched him and whispered in his ear, "Little man, now we, mother and daughter, will serve you in bed together. You can have one on each side, you should be satisfied, right?"

"Go away! What nonsense are you talking about in front of the child? You're acting like a mother!" Liu Jing said sternly, turning back, "Duo Duo, did you miss Daddy when he wasn't home?"

"Yes. Where did you go, Daddy?" Duo Duo asked with wide eyes.

“Daddy went to run errands.” Liu Jing patted her little face. “Duoduo, did you listen to Mommy when Daddy wasn’t home?”

“Yes. I was very good, and I ate a lot.”

“Duoduo is such a good girl.” Liu Jing lowered his head and kissed the little girl on the forehead.

Duoduo smiled, looked at her mother, and said, “Daddy, you haven’t kissed Mommy yet?”

“Mommy! Does Mommy need a kiss?” Liu Jing was speechless.

Yu Xia beamed, her mouth agape. Liu Jing glanced at her and said angrily, “Duoduo, Mommy is a bad guy! Daddy won’t kiss Mommy, but he’ll kiss you!”

“No, no! Mommy isn’t a bad guy, no! Daddy used to kiss both Mommy and me!” Duoduo protested, sitting up straight from under the covers.

Yu Xia was overjoyed and smiled as she leaned closer. Duoduo’s little mouth was half-open, waiting expectantly for him to kiss her mother.

Looking at the mother and daughter beside him, Liu Jing was deeply moved and suddenly understood many things. Ordinary life, happy times—these are simple things, yet people have relentlessly pursued them for thousands of years. This family, having lost its man, and those bygone days, not only affected Yuxia but also deeply impacted Duoduo's young heart.

Liu Jing glanced at the smug Yuxia and said to the child, "Okay, Daddy's going to kiss you!"

Yuxia happily raised her little face, even closing her eyes. Liu Jing chuckled inwardly, thinking, "What, you think I'd kiss you on the lips?" So he gave her a light peck on the forehead.

Duoduo was satisfied, grinning broadly; Yuxia was annoyed, rolling her beautiful eyes. Liu Jing laughed, "Yuxia, I've already given you the secondhand one you wanted, don't ask me for it again!"

"What does this count as?" Yuxia touched her forehead, both amused and exasperated.

"Nonsense, of course it counts!"

"Hmph!" Yuxia's eyes darted around, and she said to her daughter, "Duoduo, tell your new daddy what your old daddy did before?"

Liu Jing was utterly bewildered! What kind of woman is this? A mother, indeed!

Encouraged, Duoduo's little eyes darted around: "Daddy used to hug me and Mommy!"

Children's words are so innocent; Liu Jing was speechless.

"Anything else?" Yuxia glanced at him sideways.

Duoduo's eyes darted around again, and she shouted, "Mommy, Mommy, I'm a good baby! I'll sleep in my little bed tomorrow, and Mommy and Daddy will sleep in the big bed together!"

Liu Jing almost fell off the bed. How could there be such a mother? Using her own daughter for her own lust—how despicable!

Yuxia was smug and overjoyed: "Did you hear that? Tonight I'm going to…"

"Enough already! How dare you!" Liu Jing interrupted angrily, picking up the child and getting off the bed. "Duoduo, don't listen to Mommy! Mommy's a big bad guy! Come on, let's ignore her, Daddy's going to give you a bath!"

"No, no!" Duoduo cried anxiously, "I haven't pooped yet! I can only take a bath after I poop!"

Liu Jing laughed until he almost fainted! Duoduo really cared about her biological clock!

Yu Xia covered her mouth and chuckled, then leisurely lay down on the bed and pulled the blanket over herself. Liu Jing was taken aback and asked, "Why are you lying down? Duo Duo needs to poop?"

"Ahem!" Yu Xia tucked the blanket in further and said lazily, "The potty is in that room. Remember to clean it after you're done! Then don't rush to shower her, feed her a bag of walnut milk first."

"What? I'll do all of this..."

"You'll do all of this. I haven't slept in late in ages. Today's our first day living together, I'm sleeping in a bit longer. Call me when dinner's ready."

Liu Jing was utterly speechless, picked up the child, and turned to leave. He thought of Director Chen's famous quote: How could a prostitute be so shameless?
