My Policewoman Lover [Complete] - 7

Chapter Forty-Eight:

The lights of Lhasa were soft, but the weather was unkind. After a short walk, Liu Jing was shivering from the cold; his clothes were soaked through and clung to his body like ice. Back at the hotel, Liu Jing stood in the lobby's warm air for a while until he was completely warm before asking for hot milk.

The hotel usually had milk and honey, but the honey came in large bottles costing over a hundred yuan, which he thought was too expensive. So he went to the kitchen to ask for some, but they refused and even chased him out. In a fit of pique, he ran to a small shop outside and bought a small bottle.

Carrying the milk and the honey, Liu Jing hurried upstairs. He suddenly wanted to laugh. He hadn't spent much time with Guo Guo, but every time was filled with something special—either getting injured or serving her. In all his life, both injuries and serving others had been done by Guo Guo alone. Sigh, why couldn't Guo Guo ever bring him anything good?

Just as he entered the stairwell, his phone rang. It was Little Tiger. He quickly answered.

"Liu Jing, have you arrived?" Fang Xi asked.

"Yes. Did you miss me?"

"Yes, I did," Fang Xi said shyly, so sweetly.

The little tiger was straightforward, and Liu Jing felt a surge of tenderness, her heart overflowing with comfort: "Don't rush, I'll call you as soon as I get back, and then we'll have a proper date. Hey, you should prepare yourself mentally; the other projects will unfold step by step as well."

"Stop being so conceited!" Fang Xi scolded playfully, asking, "Have you found your classmate? When can you come back?"

"How can it be so soon? I just arrived, but I've already located him, and I'll go look for him tomorrow." Liu Jing glanced at the milk in her hand and added, "Let's leave it at that for now. My companion isn't feeling well; we'll talk later."

Fang Xi seemed to understand something and quickly asked, "By the way, I forgot to ask you, who did you go with? A boy or a girl?"

"Yes, a girl." Liu Jing paused, then said frankly, "Don't worry, I only have two classmates in S City, so of course we went together. Besides, her family has quite a background; without her, you wouldn't have been able to find him at all."

"What kind of background?" Fang Xi asked warily.

"You know Vice Governor Guo, right? She's his daughter."

"Really!" Fang Xi exclaimed in surprise, then said bitterly, "Then why don't you go find her? You could save twenty years of hard work!"

"Don't talk nonsense! Are we the same kind of people?"

"You didn't come to me because you couldn't find her,

did you?" Little Tiger was jealous. "Hey, are you even capable?" Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated. "You called all this way just to be jealous of me?"

Fang Xi paused, then said sourly, "Liu Jing, you're interrogating me like this, asking me about everything. I know everything about you from before! When you get back, you have to be honest and tell me everything!"

"I don't have a past. You're the first one, really." Liu Jing said shamelessly.

"Nobody believes you." Fang Xi said softly.

After hanging up, Liu Jing smiled and put his phone away. Although they had just started dating, Little Tiger's performance satisfied him, especially his lack of pretense. He believed that women should be like this: gentle when they need to be, and assertive when they need to be. Occasionally, they should be jealous, argue, and throw little tantrums—that's what women are all about. He felt relieved when Guo Guo told him about Qi Yu's breakup, and that's precisely why. He didn't like women who were too calm; it sent chills down his spine.

Liu Jing returned to the room. Guo Guo, wearing a thin sweater and having taken off her classic overalls, was anxiously waiting by the headboard.

"Why are you so late?" Guo Guo asked, pouting.

"Heh! I ran around like crazy, freezing to death, and you're still impatient?" Liu Jing glared at her and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Hehe, who told you to always say that about me?" Guo Guo said, beaming.

Liu Jing ignored her, unscrewed the honey, and carefully added it to the milk. Guo Guo watched, her expression and the feeling in her heart sweeter than honey itself; her two deep dimples were practically overflowing with happiness.

Liu Jing shook the milk well and handed it to her, saying, "Drink it while it's hot." Guo Guo raised her eyes, blushing, and said, "Help me up first. How can I drink it while I'm lying down?"

"You can't be unable to get out of bed, can you?"

"Last time in Shaanxi, you were the one who helped me drink it." Guo Guo said matter-of-factly, her little face stiff.

"What's the connection between last time and this time?"

"If you don't help me, I... I won't drink it." Guo Guo's courage was unusually strong.

"Okay, I'll help you." Liu Jing hesitated for a moment, then pulled her up with one hand.

"Ouch, be gentle, you're hurting me!" Guo Guo swayed as she sat up.

"Drink it all up!" Liu Jing handed her the cup.

Guo Guo adjusted her glasses, took it with a smile, and lowered her head to drink.

Guo Guo drank very slowly, as if savoring a cup of endless sweetness. Liu Jing sat beside her, scrutinizing her closely, and couldn't help but say, "Guo Guo, you're actually quite pretty. Why don't you dress up a bit more?"

Guo Guo pouted, dissatisfied, "You didn't just realize I'm pretty, did you?"

"Of course not," Liu Jing smiled. "Your mother is stunningly beautiful, and your father is handsome. How could you be bad? I just don't understand why you don't grow your hair longer and buy some decent clothes. Why do you always look like this?"

"I like it," Guo Guo said, feeling a pang of grievance as she sipped her milk. While she liked it, the important thing was that when they first rode the train together, Liu Jing had praised her for being cute, saying she was much better than those vain girls who didn't know what to wear.

Guo Guo was indeed very beautiful. Though nearsighted, her dark eyes seemed to radiate a gentle, captivating light; every gesture exuded tenderness. Her thin lips were exceptionally sweet, as if she were always smiling, and paired with two dimples on her cheeks, she was irresistible. She also had a beautiful figure; her full breasts, to say the least, were at least a D-cup. Liu Jing didn't know where Bai Xiaoqing and Guo Ting were from, but Guo Guo's beauty was definitely not that of a northerner; she was more like a girl from the Jiangnan region, possessing an indescribable charm and gentle allure. From a normal perspective, Guo Guo was even more alluring than Little Tiger.

Damn! From a normal perspective, Yu Xia was a bit prettier, and Guo Guo was also a bit more alluring. Was I not normal? Thinking about this, Liu Jing suddenly felt depressed. Guo

Guo was drinking when she noticed him staring intently and stopped, saying, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Oh, nothing, I was just thinking about last time in Shaanxi," Liu Jing replied with a mischievous smile.

"Don't tell!" Guo Guo snapped.

"Hehe, okay, I won't tell, just drink it." Liu Jing suppressed a laugh.

"Hmph!" Guo Guo glared at him, then lowered her head and continued drinking; the milk in her cup tasted even sweeter.

It was during the May Day holiday of their junior year. Liu Jing, Lu Qiuyang, and Lu Qiuyang had planned to climb Mount Hua, but Lu Qiuyang suddenly went to Hangzhou for some writers' conference, so he and Guo Guo went instead. Guo Guo had accidentally cut her lip, making it difficult for her to eat or go out. Liu Jing took care of her at the hotel for two whole days.

Guo Guo finished her drink and handed him the cup. Liu Jing took it and put it aside, asking, "Does it still hurt?"

"It hurts." Guo Guo wrinkled her nose, still shy, but more like she was being coquettish.

Guo Guo was clearly in a condition where she couldn't take a bath. Liu Jing said, "Go to the bathroom and soak your feet in hot water; that will help."

Guo Guo bit her lip and secretly glanced at Liu Jing. "Liu Jing, could you get some water for me? I want to... soak my feet here?"

"Are you still not done?" Liu Jing sat up abruptly, annoyed.

"Who told you to always talk about me like that?" Guo Guo adjusted her glasses and leaned back against the headboard. "Now that I'm sick, of course I'm going to get my revenge! Will you get me some water?"

"Fine, you're something else!" Liu Jing stood up helplessly. "I guess I owe you something from my past life."

Guo Guo covered her mouth, smiling smugly and happily. She had never been so bold in her coquettishness before, not even to her parents. Lu Qiuyang was practically found, then they were going to Liu Jing's house, then her parents would invite her to dinner. Originally, she felt everything was happening too fast, but now, she couldn't wait.

Liu Jing filled the water container, tested it with her hand, and placed it by the bedside. Guo Guo took off her socks and soaked her two little white pig-like feet in the water. The temperature was so comfortable, warming her heart directly.

Liu Jing sat on the opposite bed, looking at her and asking, "Guo Guo, what does your boyfriend do? What's his background?"

"I won't tell you!" Guo Guo pouted, saying happily. Liu Jing lay back, disdainfully saying, "Even if you don't tell me, I can guess. He must be from some high-ranking official's family!"

"That's not necessarily true." Guo Guo said shyly and coquettishly, gazing tenderly at the person in front of her.

She desperately wanted to tell him everything, but as many times before, she chose to keep her head down. Anyway, it's only a few days left; let Mom and Dad tell him. And that secret—did he really not remember anything? Guo Guo secretly glanced up, her little mouth pouting in grievance.

Liu Jing lay on his side in bed, watching his old classmate happily soaking her feet, feeling somewhat listless. He felt a pang of reluctance, as if he didn't want Guo Guo to get married. Actually, Guo Guo was quite nice, he silently murmured to himself.

"I'm done soaking," Guo Guo said.

"Oh, wait a minute." Liu Jing quickly banished the guilty thoughts from his mind, took a towel from his bag, and handed it to her.

Then, Liu Jing poured out the water and washed himself. When he came out, Guo Guo was already asleep. Soft light illuminated her face; her sleeping smile was sweet and beautiful. He watched her silently for a while, then turned off the light and quietly lay down.

The two went to sleep, two beds, separated by a wide aisle.

The night in Lhasa was deep, and the distant snow-capped mountains could be seen from the window, a somewhat lonely sight.

Chapter 49: Polar True Love

, the City of Sunshine truly lived up to its name. Liu Jing had just woken up when he felt a strong, dazzling light. Against the backdrop of the unchanging snow-capped mountains, the sunlight outside the window was blindingly white. He rubbed his eyes and saw a calm, gentle face. It was Guo Guo, neatly dressed, sitting by the bed. This feeling was so familiar.

"You're awake. Does your stomach still hurt?" Liu Jing sat up, and the two faced each other quietly. Guo Guo's pretty face was slightly flushed, and she gently shook her head. The Lhasa sunrise made her beautiful face glow.

There was a hint of ambiguity between them, and Liu Jing felt slightly awkward. Ever since he soaked his feet last night, some feelings had changed. It seemed he was no longer casual, or perhaps he couldn't be casual anymore, because Guo Guo was getting married.

Guo Guo looked at him silently, her gaze serene and lingering, softening the sunlight outside the window. Liu Jing sat wrapped in the blanket, his face full of unease, not because of Guo Guo's eyes, but because of his own erection, which was throbbing painfully, yet he couldn't move.

"You pig! Didn't you say you'd serve me?" Guo Guo spoke up, surprisingly accusing him, her small, pouting lips revealing two sweet dimples. "I was rolling around in pain all night, and you wouldn't wake up no matter how much I called!"

"Go away! You're getting too cocky! Get out of here, I need to go to the bathroom!" Liu Jing knew she was being coquettish, and seized the opportunity to mask his embarrassment with anger.

"You're talking about me again, I'm really ignoring you!" Guo Guo indeed pretended to be angry and sat back on her bed. Liu Jing quickly seized the opportunity to get up and rushed into the bathroom.

"Whoosh—!" A long stream of urine, so comfortable!

After the two had breakfast, Zhang Xingqi arrived in an SUV to pick them up. After some pleasantries, the car set off.

Driving along the streets of Lhasa, Zhang Xingqi enthusiastically introduced the city, and after a short while, the two gained a new understanding of Lhasa. Lhasa under the sun is a breathtaking sight, with high winds, vast clouds, and a clear, refreshing blue sky that soothes the soul. The houses and shops lining the streets are spotless and gleaming; pedestrians, monks, and rickshaw drivers, their dark faces beaming with smiles as bright as the sun, all seem to blend seamlessly into the city. The entire city of Lhasa is bathed in the brilliant sunshine, radiant and unrestrained.

The off-road vehicle speeds onto the national highway, crosses the Lhasa River Bridge, and begins its rapid journey. The scenery on either side begins to change: magical light fills the sky, and the landscape—countrysides, mountains, glaciers, and valleys—all glow with a dreamlike brilliance. The colors of the mountains compensate for the river's monotony, and the river's flow imbues the mountains with a spiritual quality; the interplay of movement and stillness creates a harmonious whole. Furthermore, the prayer flags fluttering along the way add to the mystique of Tibet.

Liu Jing, having read Liang Yusheng's Tianshan martial arts series in his youth, had a strong yearning for the magnificent glaciers and rivers. Now, experiencing it firsthand, a sense of grandeur filled him. He imagined the thrill of a glacier maiden descending with a sword, her robes fluttering in the wind.

The car wound its way forward, the altitude gradually increasing. Surrounded by mountains, the peaks appeared desolate, the slopes low and barren meadows revealing exposed yellow earth and rocks. The wind began to howl, and the weather turned harsh.

Zhang Xingqi turned back and said, "The Mila Pass is just ahead, over 5,000 meters above sea level. The climate changes drastically. But since you've come all this way, it's good to see it for yourself."

The two exchanged glances, both noticing the excitement in each other's eyes.

Sure enough, the wind began to howl, its chilling sound echoing, and the air thickened with dense clouds gathering. The two gazed excitedly out the window. In the distance, on the desolate grasslands, several Tibetans drove a yak caravan, their steps laborious yet resolute. A fierce wind tore the cloth covering the ox's back, and a Tibetan man shouted as he hurriedly tried to cover the salt and simple handmade woolen items.

The three ate something along the way. Before setting off, Liu Jing and Guo Guo, wearing hadas (ceremonial scarves), imitated the Tibetans, chanting "Ya Suo Suo," and devoutly wrote their own and their loved ones' names on prayer flags, praying for the omnipotent mountain god's protection. Liu Jing also prayed to the mountain god, successfully persuading that damned Lu Qiuyang, and then returning home early. As for Guo Guo, he naturally prayed that the two of them would be together forever, and that his beloved would live a peaceful and happy life. Zhang Xingqi smiled gently, watching the two young people.

The car continued on, the terrain gradually leveling out, and the scenery becoming brighter. At three o'clock in the afternoon, the group arrived in Nyingchi, known as "Little Switzerland." At an altitude of only three thousand meters, bordering the rushing Yarlung Tsangpo River, it boasts lush vegetation and beautiful scenery, making it the second most popular tourist destination in Tibet after Lhasa.

On the way, Zhang Xingqi made a phone call. After entering the city, the car headed straight for the Linzhi reporter station. A woman stood gracefully in front of the gate, waving from afar. Zhang Xingqi parked the car, and the woman walked over, smiling and nodding to Liu Jing and Zhang Xingqi from outside the car. Liu Jing smiled and returned the greeting, taking the opportunity to sized her up. The woman was about 1.6 meters tall, not particularly beautiful, but exuded an intellectual air.

The woman got in, and Zhang Xingqi introduced her: "This is my girlfriend, Xia Lan, a Xinhua News Agency reporter. I'm here for an aid mission to Tibet, and she's temporarily come with me. I had her keep an eye on your classmate's whereabouts."

So she's a reporter; no wonder she reminded him of Lu Yu! Liu Jing secretly admired himself.

Xia Lan turned and smiled, saying generously, "Hello, I've heard of you before. You must be Guo Yang. My Xingqi said he's dreamed of marrying you since he was a child, and he had no choice but to choose me." As she spoke, she glanced at Liu Jing.

Liu Jing could only smile wryly. Guo Guo blushed and retorted, "Don't listen to Brother Panda's nonsense! My sister is a famous reporter, while I'm just a nobody, far inferior to her. How could Brother Panda possibly be interested in me!"

Zhang Xingqi laughed, "Who said that? We're a big panda and a little panda, a perfect pair!"

"Too bad you don't have a chance anymore. From now on, you'd better behave yourself!" Xia Lan playfully punched her lover, her face full of happiness.

Zhang Xingqi laughed again, and the SUV sped off amidst the laughter. Guided by Xia Lan, the car arrived at the foot of a mountain on the outskirts of the city. Everyone got out of the car, and Xia Lan pointed, "Your friend is in that little temple over there. The car can't drive up; you'll have to walk."

The two looked around and saw a small, poorly built yellow brick temple standing alone halfway up the mountain. They turned back, and Zhang Xingqi stepped forward, saying, "You two go find someone. We'll go back to the city to arrange accommodations, then call me and I'll come pick you up."

"Thank you, Brother Zhang! Goodbye, Sister Xia!" they said goodbye.

"Hehe, you're welcome; wish you a safe journey!"

The SUV drove away, and Liu Jing, holding Guo Guo's hand, walked lightly up the mountain. In front of

the small temple, a white-robed lama, holding prayer beads, led two young disciples to greet them; he was probably Lu Qiuyang's uncle. Liu Jing didn't understand Tibetan religion, but wearing white robes, he was likely a Kagyu lama. Ah, they hadn't seen the Ice River Goddess, but they'd seen the Kagyu Dharma King.

"This humble monk has eloped; what brings you two here?" The three lamas bowed in unison, and the eldest lama asked in Chinese.

Wow! Why do monks have such a Dharma name? Liu Jing had heard Lu Qiuyang mention that his uncle was a dashing and romantic figure in his youth, indulging in countless pleasures and even eloping with someone. Later, he experienced a profound awakening, renounced worldly life, and became a reclusive sage, presumably deriving his Dharma name from this.

The two returned a greeting, and Liu Jing said, "Master, you must be Qiuyang's uncle. We are his classmates. His girlfriend is pregnant, and we've come to find him and bring her back." His tone was calm, yet unusually firm.

"Oh?" The eloping master was taken aback, his brow furrowing slightly. The rules of various sects in Tibet differed, but most did not strictly prohibit women, requiring celibacy only after childbirth. However, the eloping master had clearly seen through this.

"Master, may we see him?" Liu Jing pressed.

"Please come in." The master stepped aside, and two young lamas moved aside.

The small temple was very simple, with only a few rooms. The Dharma hall was no more than ten square meters, and apart from the central Buddha statue, there was nothing else conspicuous. The elopement monk instructed his young apprentice to brew tea, but Liu Jing stopped him: "Master, there's no need for such formalities. Where is Qiu Yang? I'd like to see him first."

"Alright, please follow me."

The elopement monk led the two through the small temple and pointed upwards: "He's at the top of the mountain. Go ahead."

The two thanked him and were about to leave when the high lama added: "Kashang Sangbu is my nephew, my only relative. The Nyang River nurtured him, and the beautiful scenery of the Tibetan border enveloped him. The gods allow birds to soar, and flies can also spread their wings. Take him back, let him remember the blood in his veins."

"Thank you, Master." Liu Jing's eyes were filled with emotion, his chest swelling with unease. This uncle had clearly already advised his nephew. He was very frustrated; even the lama understood this principle, so why couldn't Lu Qiu Yang grasp it?

The high lama bowed and turned to go inside. The temperature in Tibet in May was still low, and being in the mountains, the two slowly climbed upwards, the air gradually growing colder. Half an hour later, nestled amidst snow-capped mountains, a small lake came into view. The lake was emerald green and crystal clear, like jade and turquoise, its water as clear as a mirror and as smooth as silk. The surrounding mountains and snow-capped peaks were reflected in the lake, making it resemble a quietly blooming snow lotus. Lu Qiuyang's head injury had healed. He sat alone by the lake, his right arm in a sling. Hearing the voice, he turned around: "Why are you here?"

Liu Jing sighed and sat down beside him: "You've had a quiet day. What have you thought about? When are you planning to go back?" Guo Guo, anxious, sat down opposite him: "Qiuyang, don't be silly. Xiaoxin is pregnant. Let's go back quickly."

Lu Qiuyang's eyes lit up briefly, then dimmed again: "Do you think he should have been born into this world?" "

Damn it, are you even speaking human language?" Liu Jing, his head throbbing, immediately became furious. "You've done it, gotten her pregnant, and now you're acting all high and mighty. Why didn't you do this earlier? If you're so chaste, why didn't you just cut your thing off?"

"Liu Jing, what are you saying?" Guo Guo couldn't hold back any longer; Liu Jing's words were too vulgar.

"Shut up!"

Lu Qiuyang ignored him completely, saying with deep regret, "Liu Jing, you've disappointed me so much. You've been completely corrupted by the outside world. This place is so clean and pure, yet it still can't awaken your pure soul."

Liu Jing was furious and stood up, shouting, "How is society corrupt? How has it wronged you? You got into a top university with those pathetic scores, and you even get several hundred yuan in subsidies every month. Isn't that all thanks to society? Now that you've graduated, you're finding fault with everything. Let me tell you, Qiuyang, I despise you! You got pregnant and pretended to be noble, and now that you've graduated, you look down on society. You still have the nerve to call yourself a saint? Bah! Have

you lost your conscience?" "Liu Jing, calm down!"

Liu Jing cursed repeatedly. Guo Guo got up to pull him away but was shoved aside.

Guo Guo tried to step forward again, but Lu Qiuyang blocked him with his left arm. His chest heaved, clearly angered: "How can you look at me like that? I've lived here for so many years, my only hope is to make the outside world as clean as this place! Is that wrong? You say I have no conscience? Don't I want to give back to society?"

"You can't even handle your own little things, what kind of giving back are you talking about?" Liu Jing was furious at his lack of ambition, her tone extremely disdainful.

Lu Qiuyang was deeply hurt, his dark face filled with helplessness and resentment.

Liu Jing spoke slowly and patiently, "Qiuyang, there's only one Earth. There's no such thing as a true paradise! You think this place is clean? Really? Do you know how many Tibetans dream of going to Beijing, to big cities? You're luckier than them, but do you really understand them? Your ideas are good, but what's the difference between them and utopia? You have to face reality. You want to change society, but look at Xiaoxin, Guo Guo, me, and your uncle—we're your closest relatives. How much trouble have your actions caused us? Leaving aside whether you've been fair to us, you've made a mess of everyone around you. How can you change society? Qiuyang

, wake up! Society will never become what you think it is. Sooner or later, this place will be just like the outside world. If you continue to be so stubborn, you'll become mentally ill like Shizhi, or go mad and die like Gu Cheng!"

Lu Qiuyang's face changed several times as he stared blankly at the lake: "You're right. I can't change anything at all. I can't change anything. Maybe I shouldn't even be living in this world." "

What does that mean?" The two were stunned. Before they could react, Lu Qiuyang jumped into the lake with a splash.

"Damn it! How could this happen?" Liu Jing really didn't expect things to turn out this way.

"Qiuyang!" Guo Guo shouted, grabbing him hurriedly. "Liu Jing, what do we do?"

"Don't worry, it's okay!" Liu

Jing quickly took off his coat and sweater, kicked off his shoes, and jumped in. Guo Guo shouted and yelled from the lakeside.

Liu Jing had grown up by the sea and his swimming skills were naturally quite good, but he had overlooked the terrain. Although the lake wasn't large, it was very deep, especially since it was located on a mountaintop formed by an impact. The lakebed was rugged and uneven, with jagged rocks at varying heights. The surface of the lake seemed calm, but the bottom was crisscrossed with hidden caves and numerous undercurrents. As soon as he jumped in, he was sucked in by a force, tumbling twice before barely managing to regain his balance.

The small lake was formed from melting snow from the mountaintop, and the water, imbued with centuries of cold, was icy cold, penetrating to the bone. As soon as Liu Jing entered the water, he felt his heart tighten, his body stiffen, his lower body contract, and even his legs went numb. He forced himself to move his arms and opened his eyes; the icy lake water sent a shiver down his spine. Lu Qiuyang was sucked more than twenty meters away. At the entrance

to a cave, Liu Jing struggled, clinging to a rock with one arm. The lake water was too cold, and his weakened heart made him feel extremely suffocated, dizzy, and his chest tight. He steadied himself, rushed to the surface, took a deep breath, and ignoring Guo Guo's shouts, immediately turned back and dived back in.

Liu Jing's return alarmed Lu Qiuyang, who frantically swung his injured right arm, shaking his head and gesturing behind him. The entrance to the cave was pitch black, its depth unknown, and the strength of the current unclear. Liu Jing didn't act rashly. He first circled around to the outside of the rock to steady himself, then pulled out his belt from his waist and tested it. Lu Qiuyang nodded, indicating he understood.

Liu Jing gripped the outside of the rock with his right hand and released the belt with his left. The belt was pulled in by the current, bending like a reed towards the cave. Lu Qiuyang seized the opportunity, grabbed it, and Liu Jing yanked it, grabbing his wrist.

Lu Qiuyang had been underwater for too long; his expression was extremely grim, and his lungs had reached their limit. Liu Jing's internal organs were completely failing; his body was frozen stiff, and he had almost lost all feeling in his lower body. The two dared not stop for a moment, supporting each other as they struggled to the surface.

Reaching the shore, Liu Jing realized another problem: the lake bank was steep, with the water level a meter above the ground! Lu Qiuyang only had one hand, and he couldn't climb up on his own. Fortunately, there was Guo Guo. Liu Jing used one hand to brace against the bank, while the other hand struggled upwards. The two pulled and pushed, exerting tremendous effort, finally managing to get Lu Qiuyang's heavy body ashore.

Lu Qiuyang collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath. Liu Jing's lower limbs were completely numb, his cardiopulmonary function was extremely weak, his brain was swollen, he was dizzy, and a bone-chilling cold had completely penetrated his internal organs. If he didn't get out soon, he would die here!

"Damn Tibet!" Liu Jing shook his head, took a deep breath, and with a mighty push, tried to grab the shore.

"Splash!" Liu Jing's fingers stiffened and went limp, unable to support his weight, and he fell heavily back into the lake.

"Liu Jing!" Guo Guo cried out and rushed to the lakeside, "Where are you? Where are you? Come up here quickly!"

Liu Jing fell into the lake, his whole body stiffening abruptly. The icy water that rushed in lowered his body temperature again, but it also gave him a bit of strength. He struggled desperately to the shore, grabbing two protruding sections of the bank, but he was too weak to climb up.

"Liu Jing, are you...are you alright?" Guo Guo burst into tears, desperately reaching out his hands, "Give me your hand, give me your hand!"

Liu Jing's face was deathly pale, his body ice-cold, his blood seemingly frozen. He gritted his teeth and said, "No, you can't pull me up, you'll...tear yourself down. I can hold on, hurry...hurry and find someone!"

"No! I won't go, I can pull you!" Guo Guo cried, crawling to the shore to grab his hand.

"You can't pull me! Go find someone!" Liu Jing tried to move, shouting weakly.

"I won't go! Give me your hand, please!" Guo Guo lay on the ground, leaning down to grab his hand.

"No, go now, you...you'll kill me!" Liu Jing's teeth chattered, his eyes were glazed, his face was bloodless, and his lips were covered with a thin layer of white frost. He moved his hand again.

Guo Guo shook her head, just crying, tears soaking her glasses and blurring her vision. Finally, she stubbornly grabbed his hand. She was overjoyed and pulled upwards with all her might, but she was too weak to move Liu Jing's almost stiff body.

Liu Jing's face was faintly cold. Guo Guo was almost in despair, as if the whole world was leaving her. The reflections in the lake were all distorted, the majestic snow-capped mountains melted and collapsed like snowmelt, and only the cold wind indifferently rippled the surface of the water.

Liu Jing looked up as Guo Guo's tears dripped from the frame of his glasses, landing repeatedly on his face, hot and sticky! His fragile heart suddenly ached, churning like needles. Looking at Guo Guo's tear-streaked face, his eyes were filled with longing, a heart-wrenching longing, so reluctant to let her go, he even forgot the danger they were in. He realized the awkwardness of learning Guo Guo was going to marry someone else, the inexplicable reluctance last night, the long-standing yearning—the only explanation was that when he looked around, he had overlooked the most important thing beside him: the hand he had been searching for so long, the hand he had been holding so tightly all along.

Guo Guo wept uncontrollably, gritting her teeth, clinging tightly to his grasp. Liu Jing wanted to try again, to try again with Guo Guo's strength, but he couldn't. He couldn't find a reason to try, nor did he have the courage. He twisted his wrist, breaking free from Guo Guo's grasp.

"No!" Guo Guo stretched out her arms, lunging at him, disregarding everything else.

"Guo Guo!" Liu Jing shouted, his heart leaping into his throat.

A towering figure, as large as a small mountain, suddenly appeared before him. A powerful left arm yanked Guo Guo aside like a chicken. Before Liu Jing could react, his wrist was gripped tightly, and his body was abruptly suspended in mid-air, flung onto the shore like a tattered sack. Fortunately, the numbness in his body didn't cause him much pain.

They had forgotten that there was still one person, a wounded but still strong Tibetan.

Liu Jing's failure to reach the shore nearly killed Lu Qiuyang with shock. Fortunately, Liu Jing quickly struggled ashore, and he breathed a sigh of relief, but didn't act rashly. He knew the situation and his own condition well, and rationally chose to rest, even if it was just for a few seconds. Going back to find someone was unrealistic. An outsider couldn't survive for more than a few minutes in the thousands of snowmelt puddles of Tibet, especially since Liu Jing grew up in a mild coastal city; he was the only force they could rely on.

Lying on the shore, Lu Qiuyang witnessed Liu Jing and Guo Guo's selflessness and concern in the face of danger, their inner reliance, and their deep affection. His heart recovered from the shock, and then, at the critical moment, he stepped forward.

Lu Qiuyang, what a strong Lu Qiuyang!

"Liu Jing, how are you?" Guo Guo, tears of sorrow turning to joy, threw herself into his arms.

Liu Jing felt a pang of sadness, his eyes filled with emotion, and he struggled to turn his head away. Lu Qiuyang, having used almost all his strength, lay on the ground, his right arm raised, panting heavily, his open mouth seemingly smiling at him.

Liu Jing said in a panic, "Qiuyang, I...I...I can't feel my lower body!"

Lu Qiuyang gasped for breath, grinning broadly, "The water here is too cold, it's easy to damage your vital energy. You've never...never lived here before, this is normal. Don't worry, warm it up overnight, tomorrow morning...it should be fine, it won't interfere with your childbirth!"

"Wh...what do you mean...it should be fine?" Liu Jing struggled to sit up, weakly saying, "Let me tell you, I...I'm still...still a virgin! If you ruin my important plans, I...I'll fucking kill you!"

Chapter Fifty I've seen it before.

Nights in Tibet always fall relatively late, especially in the mountains, where the year-round snow makes the sky very bright, even after the sun sets, it still reflects an ancient white light, and the moonlight is dimmed as a result.

In the small mountain temple, in a humble room, a butter lamp cast a dim light. The cold wind howled sharply outside the window. A glowing stove reflected the red light on Guo Guo's face, showing fear, helplessness, and traces of tears.

The mountain path from the laketop to the temple was long. Liu Jing was soaked to the bone and extremely weak. On the way back to the temple, Lu Qiuyang had been blown unconscious by the mountain wind. He was still fast asleep on the earthen bed.

The millennia-old snowmelt of Tibet was extremely damaging to the body's vital energy. If left untreated, even if life was not in danger, it could easily cause lower limb paralysis or loss of sexual function. Such power was unbearable even for the internal energy masters described by Liang Yusheng, let alone Liu Jing. Fortunately, he hadn't been soaked for long. If he had truly lost some function, we are absolutely certain he would have jumped into the lake again.

Guo Guo knelt on the low earthen bed, looking at the face of the person before her, and once again couldn't help but lift the quilt to touch the scar etched even deeper in her heart. She touched him carefully, the pain in her fingertips piercing her heart. When Liu Jing, pale-faced, wriggled free from her grasp in the icy lake water, she felt her entire world collapse. This despair was too real, too cruel, but what was truly terrifying was the helpless, utterly powerless feeling. She was familiar with this feeling, but she couldn't bear to endure it again.

Years ago, she had clumsily fallen before the gears that had pulled her out of bed, and this same man stood before her, holding a grinding wheel, as imposing as a mountain. The gears spun rapidly, instantly slicing through the thick grinding wheel, slamming heavily into his chest and bouncing off. He fell backward, and she saw blood gushing from his chest and mouth, so high, so slowly, like slow motion in a movie—brilliant, cruel, beautiful—before he collapsed into her arms, covered in blood, so much blood. She screamed and held him tightly, her hands stained with blood.

She couldn't forget the terror of that moment, but compared to the helplessness at the top of the lake, the latter filled her with even more despair, because it was so real, especially since she was about to experience it herself.

Guo Guo sighed softly and tucked the blanket back in. Liu Jing suddenly woke up. "Liu Jing, you're awake?" Guo Guo rushed to him, tears welling in her eyes, and asked joyfully.

"Yes." Liu Jing nodded, instinctively looking around, because he wasn't wearing any clothes on his upper body. Luckily, he should be wearing pants, but only "should be," as he couldn't feel his lower body.

Guo Guo realized something and quickly sat up: "How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright, my legs are a little numb." Having survived the ordeal, facing Guo Guo's bespectacled face again, he suddenly felt calm.

Guo Guo smiled, the firelight making her look beautiful: "Don't worry, Qiu Yang said you'll be fine by tomorrow morning."

"Oh, where are my clothes?" Liu Jing asked a very practical question.

Guo Guo blushed slightly: "Your clothes were all wet, of course you took them off. Um, Qiu Yang changed your pants."

"Oh," Liu Jing responded, avoiding eye contact. "Where's Qiu Yang? Where is he?"

"He left, went back to find Xiao Xin." Guo Guo gave a relieved smile. "He asked me to tell you that the original Lu Qiu Yang is dead, and the current Lu Qiu Yang will be like you, and said he'll learn from you." Liu

Jing smiled wryly, remaining silent. This guy, he came fast, and he left fast too.

Guo Guo asked curiously, "Liu Jing, Qiu Yang has finally seen the light. It's all thanks to you. Aren't you happy?"

"Happy? Of course I'm happy," Liu Jing sighed. "But the world has lost another truly good person."

"Not at all," Guo Guo stared at him earnestly. "She's a good person just like you."

Liu Jing smiled, looking at her. "Qiu Yang once wrote a short poem that won an award, did you know that?"

"No, what poem?" Guo Guo shook her head.

Liu Jing gazed at the snow-capped mountains outside the window and calmly recited: 'All evils in the light / Shine with glory and arrogance / But words shun them / And so those who hold books say / Look, this is the truth.'"

Guo Guo didn't speak, staring at him blankly.

Liu Jing glanced at it: "Don't think about anything else. It's a rare treat to have gone through all this trouble, so I'm just sharing my thoughts."

"What do you mean, 'rare treat'? Don't even mention it!" Guo Guo snapped out of his reverie, picked up a small pot from beside the stove, "You must be hungry. Qiu Yang had the little lama cook some porridge. I kept it warm because I was afraid you'd wake up. Eat it while it's hot."

Liu Jing peeked inside; there were goji berries and some kind of large grain of wheat, a reddish-brown mixture filling about half the pot. He frowned: "What is this? Why does it taste like this?"

"I don't know either, it seems to be mixed with butter tea and yak milk."

Sigh! They finally made it to the snow mountain, and he even got injured. Why didn't they put a snow lotus or something? Liu Jing's mind wandered.

Guo Guo helped him lean against the wall, grabbed a sheepskin robe to wrap him up, and then scooped a spoonful of porridge. Liu Jing opened his mouth, then suddenly asked, "Have you eaten?"

"Yes, you eat first," Guo Guo said sweetly, her face flushed. Looking at her gentle face, Liu Jing felt a cool pain in his heart. "I can't eat all of this. Get another spoon, let's eat together."

"You eat first, I'll feed you," Guo Guo said, looking directly at him.

"My hand is better now, I can eat by myself, go get it." Liu Jing snatched the small pot from her. Guo Guo was reluctant, fidgeting, but took a small spoon and returned to his side.

"Eat!" Liu Jing said to her.

"Mmm," Guo Guo nodded happily.

The two of them ate, heads close together, occasionally glancing at each other, their eyes filled with deep and warm affection, like the kang (heated brick bed) beneath them and the fire beside them. Guo Guo felt like she was melting, overwhelmed with happiness, wanting to rush over and hug him tightly, never letting go again. Liu Jing was also happy, a bittersweet happiness, for his years of ignorance and missed opportunities.

Liu Jing didn't want to say he regretted it; some things, once missed, are missed, it's not a big deal, especially for a man. The little tiger is happy now, eagerly awaiting him from thousands of miles away. He's content and happy.

After finishing the porridge, Guo Guo's eyes were gentle, his smile captivating, his dimples deep and alluring. Liu Jing remained silent, silently telling himself to cherish the little tiger and live happily ever after.

Guo Guo placed his fur coat aside, helped him lie down, then picked up a jar, looking at him hesitantly. Liu Jing asked curiously, "Guo Guo, what are you doing with this?" Guo Guo

grinned, "Do you need to pee?"

"What? You want me to… umm… umm… umm… umm…" Liu Jing quickly shook his head.

Guo Guo sat down on the edge of the latrine, not without his anger, and said, "Liu Jing, the toilet is behind the temple. It's quite cold outside. Qiu Yang said you can't be exposed to the wind until you recover. Don't be so fussy!"

"Oh, I know, I don't feel anything. Take it away!" Liu Jing really didn't feel anything. Even if he did, he wouldn't urinate in front of Guo Guo. That was too much! Holding it in was a small matter, but losing his chastity was a big deal.

Guo Guo put down the jar, sat on the edge of the bed, and glared at him angrily.

What was this all about? It was just urinating! Was it a problem if he didn't? Liu Jing was a little surprised, but didn't think much of it. "By the way, Guo Guo, did you call Brother Panda and the others?"

"Yes." Guo Guo nodded heavily, still angry.

Liu Jing chuckled, "Guo Guo, what are you doing? I really don't need to pee, do you expect me to force it?"

"I didn't say anything," Guo Guo said awkwardly, still looking dissatisfied. "Never mind, you should rest."

Liu Jing nodded, glancing at the sky outside. "It's getting late, you should rest too."

"You go to sleep," Guo Guo said sternly, tucking him in.

Liu Jing obediently closed his eyes; he was too weak and really needed rest.

Outside, the mountain wind whipped through the snow, lashing incessantly; inside, the lamp flickered red, burning brightly. Liu Jing slept soundly, even snoring softly. Guo Guo remained kneeling on the kang (heated brick bed), gazing at him intently. Seeing him sleeping so peacefully, she muttered a curse, then blushed with embarrassment.

After some time, the wind howled outside, and Liu Jing woke up, frowning. He had to pee.

Guo Guo, leaning against the wall, his mouth slightly open, had actually fallen asleep. He moved his legs and, finding nothing seriously wrong, didn't disturb her. He quietly grabbed the fur robe and prepared to go to the toilet himself. He took a few steps; aside from his legs feeling a little weak, he was relieved. The main hall was dimly lit, two candles flickering weakly, and a poorly made Buddha statue seemed to be grinning at him. He spat and pushed open the door to the back of the temple.

Tibet experiences extreme temperature differences between day and night; even in the height of spring, the temperature at night was close to minus twenty degrees Celsius, compounded by a biting mountain wind. Liu Jing was immediately chilled to the bone upon stepping outside. He cursed as he found the so-called toilet, which had a small lamp hanging inside. It was an open-air stone latrine, the wind howling with snowflakes. Although Liu Jing was wearing a fur robe on his upper body, he was only wearing a pair of underpants, and he was shivering. He gritted his teeth, pulled down his pants, and began to relieve himself.

Physiologically, excretion is also a process of releasing heat, which is why shivering often occurs when urinating. But Liu Jing's situation was much more serious; Lu Qiuyang's warning that he couldn't tolerate the wind was no exaggeration. He hadn't recovered yet. As the body heat dissipated, coupled with the cold wind, his legs went numb for a moment, and he stumbled to the side.

"Ouch!" Liu Jing rushed to catch him, but couldn't, and he still fell heavily to the ground, thankfully not into the latrine. "Damn it! What bad luck!" He hadn't finished urinating, and his stinky urine soaked his pants and legs.

A figure flashed out from inside the door: "Hey, why did you run out?"

Liu Jing was about to get up when he heard this and was shocked, turning around quickly: "Guo Guo, don't, don't come any closer!" He hadn't even put his pants on yet!

Guo Guo ignored him completely and ran to his side in a few steps. He was extremely embarrassed, covering his genitals with his hands: "Guo Guo, I'm fine, you go away!"

Guo Guo's face was cold, ignoring him completely, and he pulled his hands away and helped him up.

"Guo Guo, you..." Liu Jing was shocked and embarrassed, unable to move for a moment.

Guo Guo's gaze was persistent, ignoring him, and he bent down to pull up his pants.

Liu Jing's face flushed red. He looked up at the light, utterly ashamed, and let Guo Guo finish what she was doing to his lower body. Ugh, this godforsaken place! The toilet's so dilapidated, yet there's such a bright light hanging there?

Guo Guo helped him back into the room and laid him down again. This kang (heated brick bed), this stove—it's so warm. Liu Jing covered himself with the blanket and stared blankly at her. Guo Guo, her face long, held a towel and said expressionlessly, "Take off your pants."

"What! Take them off again? If you take them off again, I'll..." Liu Jing's clothes were all wet. His spares were in Zhang Xingqi's car; he was currently wearing Lu Qiuyang's. If he took them off any more, he'd be completely naked.

Guo Guo finally couldn't help but laugh, her face flushed as she sat down on the edge of the kang (

heated brick bed). "Liu Jing, your health is the most important thing. It's nothing, don't think too much about it. Hurry up and take it off and wipe yourself." Liu Jing was extremely embarrassed. "Guo Guo, the kang is so warm, it'll dry in a little while... it's fine without wiping."

Guo Guo chuckled, both shy and beautiful, so mischievous. "Actually, it's really nothing. Your thing... I've already seen it!" "

What! You've seen it? When... did you see it?" Liu Jing was not only embarrassed but also confused.

Guo Guo turned away and adjusted her glasses. "Well, it was... it was when Qiu Yang changed your clothes!"

"Ah—! Why didn't you look away?"

"Oh, do you even need to ask?" Guo Guo was helpless and turned back. "Qiu Yang was also soaking wet, and she carried you back. She was freezing and had to take care of herself. I..." Guo Guo stopped talking and lowered her head, turning away again.

Liu Jing glanced at her coldly: "What's wrong with you?"

Guo Guo pushed up her glasses again, smiling broadly, "I even wiped your whole body clean!" The little girl beamed, as if she had gotten a great deal.

"What?" This was too much of a loss, Liu Jing said irritably, "You're still laughing, don't you know shame!"

"Hehe, what's the big deal!" Guo Guo simply grabbed his arm, "Alright, alright, get up and take off your pants, wipe yourself properly, the toilet is so dirty, so disgusting!"

Liu Jing sighed and took off his pants in bed. Times had changed, and it was a special situation, so of course it wasn't a big deal, he just couldn't quite bring himself to do it.

Liu Jing finished wiping himself, lying naked in bed: "Guo Guo, I'm fine now, you're tired too, go to sleep."

"There's only one extra room in the temple, where am I supposed to sleep?" Guo Guo looked at him pitifully.

"Just one room?" Liu Jing thought for a moment, then stretched out his arm. "Never mind then, hurry up and get on the kang (heated brick bed)."

Guo Guo was overjoyed, her mouth agape. "Liu Jing, you...you really want me to get on the kang?"

"Why are you making such a fuss?" Liu Jing said irritably. "I told you to get on the kang, not to crawl into my bed!"

Guo Guo pouted, kicked off her shoes, and hopped onto the kang like a rabbit, lying down beside him fully clothed, so excited.

Liu Jing sighed, leaned over, and took off her glasses. Guo Guo blinked hard, continuing to stare at him. There were no extra rooms in the temple, nor extra blankets, so Liu Jing had to cover her with his sheepskin robe and tuck it in.

Guo Guo clutched the robe, her heart brimming with joy, her eyes filled with eager anticipation.

Liu Jing blew out the light, lay back down, and coughed, saying, "Guo Guo, you're almost got a boyfriend. Don't say I didn't tell you. In this situation, you'd better behave yourself while sleeping, otherwise... otherwise, if anything happens, I won't be responsible!"

What a jerk, he still has the nerve to say that! Guo Guo cursed inwardly, gritted her teeth, and simply leaned closer, resting her head on his shoulder.

Chapter 51 An Awkward Incident in Bed

Linzhi doesn't have the terrain of Lhasa, nor the reputation of being the "City of Sunshine," but the intensity of the sunlight is no less, especially since the small temple is located halfway up a mountain, surrounded by snow-

capped peaks. Liu Jing struggled to open his eyes. The blazing sun outside the window, amplified by the snow-capped peaks, was incredibly intense, and the stove in the room was dying. He felt something was wrong. The faint fragrance under his nose and the soft warmth in his arms told him that something was amiss. He slowly lowered his head and saw Guo Guo curled up under the blanket, nestled in his arms, fast asleep.

How could this be? How did she get in here? Generally speaking, it's men who sleep with naked women in their arms. Who sleeps fully clothed with a naked man in their arms? Liu Jing was incredibly embarrassed.

Guo Guo's forehead was pressed against his chest, one hand wrapped around his buttocks, she was fast asleep, even drooling. Liu Jing, his face expressionless, first reached under the covers to remove the hand from his buttocks, then tapped her forehead.

"Wake up! Wake up! It's dawn!"

"Hmm—!" After a long while, the little girl finally uttered a sound, lifting her sleepy face, "What? You woke me up!"

She was still dissatisfied! Liu Jing asked angrily, "I'm asking you, how did you get in here?"

Guo Guo rubbed her eyes and swallowed, "I didn't get in, you wrapped me up in here!"

"I...why would I wrap you up?" Liu Jing asked, glancing at her.

"Hmm." Guo Guo shrank back. "You're worried about me, afraid I'll catch a cold, so you wrapped me up in this."

"I wrapped you up and you..." Liu Jing stammered, then said indignantly, "What did I tell you last night? Have you forgotten?"

Guo Guo looked at him impatiently, pouting, "Are you serious? I didn't say anything, why are you taking it so seriously?"

"You're still in the right?" Liu Jing was stunned, then said angrily, "You were dressed perfectly well, of course I wouldn't take it seriously. I just... I just..."

Guo Guo chuckled, saying casually, "Liu Jing, it's really nothing. Besides, we've already slept together all night, what's the use of saying it now?"

"You... you still..." Liu Jing stared in astonishment, unsure what to say.

"Alright, I'm not fully awake yet, let me sleep a little longer." Guo Guo's face was as sweet as a blooming flower, and she snuggled into his arms again.

Liu Jing quickly pushed her aside: "Guo Guo, I told you you're usually quite shy, what's gotten into you?"

Guo Guo blinked her big eyes, looking at him pitifully: "I bathed you yesterday, I saw every inch of you, what... what's there to be shy about?"

"That won't do, it's a different matter!" Liu Jing glared at her, pushing her away, "Go, go, get up quickly, bring me my clothes, I need to... get dressed."

Guo Guo giggled, winked mischievously, and reluctantly got up.

Liu Jing took his glasses and put them directly on her nose. Guo Guo steadied herself, smiling sweetly at him, "Liu Jing, sleeping with you is great, last night... I slept so comfortably."

Sunlight streamed in through the snow-capped peaks, making Guo Guo's innocent and sweet face radiant. Liu Jing saw this and felt a pang of pain in his heart, sighing softly, "Don't say anything more, go get my clothes. After dinner, we'll play together."

"Aren't we going to your house?" Guo Guo asked, tilting her head.

"It's a rare trip, we still have enough time, let's play for a day or two. My house, besides the beach, isn't much, one day is enough to see."

"Okay." Guo Guo nodded, preparing to get off the kang (heated brick bed).

"Knock, knock, knock!" A heavy knock came from outside. The two looked at each other, both somewhat embarrassed. Guo Guo's pretty face flushed red, and she quickly burrowed under the covers.

"Hey, why are you doing this again..." Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated. This girl, really, why didn't she just get out of bed!

"Are you two awake?" came the voice of the young lama from outside the door.

"You're awake, little monk, is something the matter?" Liu Jing answered immediately, ignoring Guo Guo.

"Are you feeling better, benefactor?" The young lama was quite concerned about him.

"Yes, thank you." Liu Jing moved his legs and felt fine.

The young lama said again, "Master has prepared the vegetarian meal. Please come out and eat, both of you."

"Understood, we'll be right there."

The young lama's footsteps faded into the distance. Liu Jing sighed and slapped the blanket outside, "Come out now!"

"Ah!" Guo Guo screamed, her body jerking violently under the covers.

Liu Jing was startled and quickly pulled back the covers. Guo Guo, her face flushed, stood awkwardly facing his large, erect penis.

Oh no, he'd forgotten it was morning! This girl had seen everything! "What are you doing?" Liu Jing grabbed her and pulled her out.

"I...I didn't mean to," Guo Guo said stubbornly, her face flushed with embarrassment.

Liu Jing was extremely embarrassed and snapped, "You! He wasn't going to come in, so why did you crawl in? I think you did it on purpose!"

"I really didn't mean to!" Guo Guo was about to cry.

"Alright, alright, let's not talk about this anymore. Go get me some clothes!" Liu Jing was exasperated and kept pushing her.

Guo Guo twisted her body and shuffled towards the ground: "What's the big deal? It's just a glance!"

Liu Jing sighed and ignored her.

Guo Guo bent down to put on her shoes, then suddenly screamed, "Ah!"

"What's wrong now?" Liu Jing, wrapped in the blanket, peeked over and asked.

"What are you looking at?" Guo Guo turned around, pulling at her clothes, her face extremely pale.

Liu Jing almost fainted when she saw what was happening! There was a large white stain on Guo Guo's clothes, clearly his… speechless. How could she have had a nocturnal emission in that situation last night? Thankfully, it proved her sexual function was still intact.

Guo Guo looked at him, her voice trembling with tears, and said, "What should I do? I only have one piece of clothing left. How can I go out and face people?"

Liu Jing was utterly ashamed and incredibly embarrassed. He shamelessly suggested, "Well, um, isn't it all dry? Rub it a little, it might come off!"

Guo Guo was both amused and annoyed, and punched him hard, "You're so mean! How could you do something like this?"

"Well, you can't blame me! Who told you to sleep with me!" Liu Jing shifted slightly, unable to suppress a laugh, "Let me tell you, Guo Guo, I've let you see everything! If this were ancient times, I'd definitely marry you!"

"It's so ugly, who wants to see it!" Guo Guo was extremely embarrassed, adjusted her glasses, and quickly turned away.

Liu Jing didn't say anything more, just grinned at her. Guo Guo lowered her head, gritting her teeth and rubbing for a long time, finally managing to mostly remove it. Although some marks remained, at least it wasn't so unsightly.

After washing herself, Guo Guo took her clothes, threw them at him angrily, and turned away, her face flushed. Liu Jing, with a mischievous grin, put on his clothes and shoes, ending his state of complete nudity.

"I'm sorry, thank you for your help last night," Liu Jing said sincerely, standing in front of Guo Guo.

"You're so annoying, I'm never talking to you again," Guo Guo said, her voice a mix of shyness and joy, a happy and coquettish expression.

Liu Jing smiled at her, but a pang of sadness welled up inside him. He had heard those words countless times; how come he hadn't noticed her cuteness before?

Chapter 52 Dancing Under the Blue Sky

After a simple vegetarian meal and a visit to the temple's unpretentious meditation room, Liu Jing and Guo Guo bid a reluctant farewell to the elopement master. The high priest, accompanied by his two young disciples, saw them to the door and devoutly offered them a saying: Good and evil have their causes and effects; God is fair.

Liu Jing wasn't a believer, but he accepted it implicitly. He had no doubt that Tibet's pristine skies, clouds, and perpetual snow—all of nature—were the gods' reward for the Tibetan people's centuries of devotion.

Tibet's nature wasn't just about tranquility and leisure; it also instilled a sense of exhilaration and grandeur. Amidst the bright moonlit nights and the towering snow-capped peaks and vast glacial valleys, Liu Jing felt a sense of freedom and independence, like a swordsman wielding a sword, moving swiftly and freely, as depicted in martial arts novels.

The descent was somewhat difficult, with a cold wind blowing in their faces, yet the two walked steadily. Hand in hand, they conveyed not only warmth but also their tender affection.

Guo Guo smiled, her short hair slightly disheveled by the wind, glancing occasionally at the person beside her. He realized how beautiful it felt to love someone; even worrying about him, seeing him make a fool of himself, brought such happiness. Liu Jing felt a warmth in his heart, but a sense of listlessness lingered. He wanted to ask himself when he had fallen for this girl, but he couldn't find the answer. If he hadn't known she was getting married and hadn't witnessed her tears in the icy water, he might have kept it a secret forever.

If only life could be like their first meeting, facing a love similar to the one he shared with the little tiger again, he couldn't, and wouldn't be able to.

Each lost in their own thoughts, they remained silent, the road down the mountain light and vast.

At the foot of the mountain, the SUV was parked by the roadside, and Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan waved to them from afar. The four approached and met. Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan looked at him with concern. Zhang Xingqi pinched his shoulder: "Brother, how are you? I heard you took a cold shower yesterday, and had a close call?"

Guo Guo glanced at him gently, and Liu Jing replied with a smile: "I'm fine, I'm all better. I

made Brother Zhang worry." "That's good. The climate in Tibet is no joke." Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan exchanged a glance, then said, "Hurry up and get in the car. There are many scenic spots near Linzhi; I'll show you around."

Xia Lan took Guo Guo's hand, and the two women squeezed into the back seat, while Liu Jing sat in the passenger seat. The car drove towards Nyingchi city under the azure sky.

Nyingchi was different today; Liu Jing and Guo Guo sensed it even before entering the city. Countless four-cornered kites filled the sky above the city, soaring high and low, carefree and easy; joyful sounds drifted from the city center, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Their spirits soared like the kites. Xia Lan smiled

and explained, "You're lucky; you've caught the traditional Qudun Festival in Nyingchi, which is celebrated for three days. Today is the first day. Once we're in the city, you can experience it for yourself."

"Qudun Festival?" Liu Jing asked, his eyes filled with inquiry. Zhang Xingqi casually interjected, "Tibet has dozens, even hundreds, of festivals a year, it's nothing special."

"Don't talk nonsense if you don't know! The Qudun Festival is different!" Xia Lan rolled her eyes at him, annoyed. "The Qudun Festival is a very important festival in Linzhi, otherwise, wouldn't the whole city celebrate for three days?"

Guo Guo asked curiously, "Sister Xia, how did this festival originate?"

"Hmm, I'm not entirely sure either. Originally, it seemed to be the Qudun Monastery's Cham Dance Festival, where they danced religious dances, performed by the lamas of the monastery. Now it's different; anyone can dance. If you're interested, you can join in!" Xia Lan, being a reporter, knew quite a bit.

Guo Guo was very interested in this suggestion, his eyes shining as he looked at Liu Jing. Liu Jing said, "Don't look at me, all I know is Yangko dance, wouldn't I be embarrassed to go up there?"

"Yangko dance is fine too! Tibetans have definitely never seen it before, let them see!" Xia Lan excitedly encouraged. Guo Guo seized the opportunity to plead, "Liu Jing, I don't even know how to do Yangko dance, could you teach me?"

"We'll see," Liu Jing replied, turning away, his heart brimming with self-satisfaction.

The city of Linzhi was filled with a festive atmosphere, everyone's face beaming with joy. Lamas, bare-chested and bare-armed, danced strange dances, while countless Tibetans in traditional costumes sang and danced on the sidelines. Many Han Chinese watched from the sidelines, and even a few yaks stood leisurely by the roadside, their eyes half-closed in a lazy gaze at the joyful crowd.

Zhang Xingqi parked the car, and the four of them stood by the roadside watching. Xia Lan began her incessant chatter again: "Tibetans are skilled at singing and dancing. Anyone who can walk can dance, and anyone who can talk can sing."

Liu Jing nodded repeatedly; he understood this. Song and dance originated from priests. Tibet is the highest altitude region in the world, with extremely harsh natural conditions, making primitive worship unavoidable for survival.

The atmosphere on the street grew increasingly vibrant, a cacophony of ethnic musical instruments, songs, and laughter. The dark faces of the Tibetans shone with hope, pure and simple, filling the entire city with warmth. Liu Jing felt a surge of emotion; the Tibetans' material comforts were limited, but their simple joy was incredibly infectious.

Guo Guo stood beside him, her face beaming with excitement, eager to join in. Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan exchanged glances, Xia Lan laughing, "Stop watching, why don't you go dance too?"

Guo Guo adjusted her small glasses, her eager gaze impossible to conceal. Liu Jing glanced around instinctively, a touch of embarrassment in his voice: "Isn't that inappropriate? The street is full of Tibetans, not a single Han Chinese. People will laugh at us!"

"Just go, you'll be there! What are you afraid of!" Xia Lan gave him a generous push. Liu Jing hesitated, but Guo Guo took his hand, gazing intently at him, and led him backwards into the dance area, the Linzhi sun shining on her smiling face.

Suddenly, a young Han Chinese couple appeared in the joyful crowd, drawing surprised glances from everyone and causing a brief commotion on the dance floor. The two held hands, Guo Guo's face flushed, whether from excitement, shyness, or both, it was unclear.

"Are you really going to dance?" Liu Jing looked around cautiously, asking.

"Yes," Guo Guo nodded sweetly, playfully scolding, "You promised to teach me!"

Liu Jing grinned foolishly and began to move like a robot, immediately eliciting laughter from those around him. Guo Guo covered her mouth and giggled incessantly. Liu Jing felt incredibly embarrassed, dancing the Northeast Yangko on the streets of Tibet; he felt like an idiot.

"Don't you want to learn? Don't just watch!" Liu Jing, feeling awkward, simply offered to help. Guo Guo, who had been itching to join in, waited for his command and began to dance without hesitation.

The Northeast Yangko wasn't difficult; it involved crossing your legs in a cross-step, swinging your arms repeatedly, the only variation being the spinning, the frequency and timing of which were entirely up to you. If we're talking about technical skill, it's basically about the movement of the waist and hips. Generally, women with larger breasts and hips look more attractive when they dance, and most Yangko troupes are made up of middle-aged and elderly women.

Guo Guo quickly learned it, and the two danced together under the Tibetan blue sky. Northeast Yangko isn't well-known, and it's rarely seen even in Northeast China nowadays, let alone in distant Tibet. The surrounding crowd quickly stopped laughing, attracted by this simple, joyful, and expressive art form. Even the lamas, young and old, cast surprised glances. Some enthusiastic Tibetans automatically surrounded the two, dancing alongside them like stars around the moon, as if encouraging them.

Encouraged, the two gradually loosened up, twisting more and more joyfully, dancing more and more vigorously, becoming more and more skilled, and their coordination more and more perfect. Liu Jing even added tango-like movements, occasionally holding hands high with one hand, and Guo Guo, understanding, twisted her delicate body, happily spinning around! The only discordant element was the little girl occasionally pushing up her glasses.

The sky was still so blue,

the land still so vast,

you still so beautiful,

and I still so sincere.

The kites in the sky swayed freely, following the white clouds and the gentle breeze, like wings of love soaring. The two gazed deeply into each other's eyes, smiling as they danced together, their gazes meeting tenderly. Their hearts melted unknowingly, as if they were the only two people in the vast expanse of the world's roof.

Guo Guo's eyes burned with passion, her breath quickened, beads of sweat glistened on her face, her rosy cheeks brimming with excitement, her heart pounding with joy. She was so happy, she couldn't hold back any longer, she just wanted to announce her love to the whole world.

After an elegant spin, she suddenly stopped and shouted, "Liu Jing, I love you!"

It was noisy around them, but Liu Jing heard her clearly. He opened his mouth, froze, as if he had lost his mind, his brain blank.

The drums and gongs were lively and boisterous, the crowd sang and danced. Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan watched with smiles from outside the crowd. They couldn't hear the conversation, but they could feel the deep affection between the two young people.

Guo Guo breathed heavily and shouted again, "I said I like you, did you hear me?"

"Ah." Liu Jing nodded blankly, reverting to his robotic state. "But...aren't you getting married?"

"Silly boy, the person I'm talking about is you!" Guo Guo was overjoyed, jumping onto him and hugging his neck. Liu Jing swayed twice, instinctively embracing her.

The two embraced in the middle of the street, the blue sky of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau witnessing their love, and the people around them stared wide-eyed.

The sky was still so blue,

the land was still so vast,

you were still so beautiful,

and I was still so foolish.

Guo Guo gently whispered in his ear, "Liu Jing, I like you, tell me, do you like me?"

Liu Jing looked around blankly, expressionless: "I...I won't tell you."

Chapter 53 The Furthest Distance in the World

"The furthest distance in the world is not between heaven and earth, but when I am beside you, and you don't know I love you." After pursuing love with great difficulty, one discovers that there was already a true love silently by their side. Under the vast blue sky of Tibet, after dancing hand in hand, heart to heart, Liu Jing understood the meaning of those words—so profound, so painful, a quiet heartbreak.

On the streets of Linzhi, under the blazing sun and azure sky, surrounded by vibrant dances, they embraced quietly, separated by the furthest yet closest distance in the world. Guo Guo gazed at him tenderly, her eyes both gentle and unwavering; Liu Jing had never seen her so beautiful, and he longed to cherish her in his heart, to protect her as before, no matter how far or how long.

A group of Tibetan children rushed to their side, their innocent smiles radiating joy, their slightly dirty little hands outstretched. The two separated; Guo Guo smoothed her short hair, a beautiful blush on her face; Liu Jing, somewhat bewildered, looked back blankly.

Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan, prepared in advance, had bought a large pile of candy from the roadside and cheerfully handed it to them. Liu Jing accepted the candy, and Guo Guo was overjoyed. She squatted down and distributed the candy to the children. When she ran out, she would take more from Liu Jing, as if sharing the sweetness of her love.

Xia Lan took out her camera and captured this happy moment.

The children dispersed, and the four of them got back into the car. Xia Lan chose the front, leaving the back space entirely for the two happy people. The car drove away through the crowd. Guo Guo looked back, reluctant to leave, still savoring the bliss of that moment.

Xia Lan turned back and teased, "You two are so in sync! You danced so well, and you hugged so well. I'm so jealous!" Zhang Xingqi chuckled and joked, "Why didn't you say so earlier? I could have taken you up and danced the Yangko dance too! I can do that too!"

"You! You blockhead!" Xia Lan scolded playfully. "Being with you is the most boring thing ever!"

The two flirted and teased each other, oblivious to everyone else. Guo Guo glanced at her gently. She grabbed Liu Jing's hand, her face beaming with the most beautiful smile in the world. Liu Jing grinned foolishly, remaining silent.

Surrounded by mountains, Nyingchi boasts stunning scenery and abundant natural resources, including wild fruits, medicinal herbs, and handicrafts that attract countless tourists. Led by Xia Lan and Zhang Xingqi, the two bought a lot of things, including various exotic fruits and handicrafts unique to ethnic minorities, such as Monpa wooden bowls, bamboo weaving, Lhoba stone pots, and pottery—enough to fill a car trunk.

After lunch, the group headed to Peach Blossom Valley. As the name suggests, Peach Blossom Valley is a wild peach forest located on the southeastern outskirts of Nyingchi. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, with water at higher elevations, and lush, evergreen forests all around, the valley was bursting with spring colors. The peach blossoms were in full bloom, a breathtaking sight, while the stream babbled and fish could be seen swimming within. It felt like stepping into a paradise.

The group lingered in Peach Blossom Valley for an afternoon. Guo Guo, radiant with love, was glowing with happiness, her cheeks more radiant than the peach blossoms in the valley. Liu Jing, burdened with countless sorrows, forced a smile, her heart filled with melancholy deeper than the mountain streams.

As night fell, Zhang Xingqi and Xia Lan treated them to a sumptuous dinner. They then escorted them to their room at the Linzhi Hotel.

The Linzhi Hotel wasn't high-class, but it was still cozy. The lighting was warm and inviting, and the pale sheets had an ambiguous hue. Liu Jing sat listlessly on the edge of the bed. Everything had calmed down. He had to explain, but thinking of Guo Guo's blissful expression, Liu Jing felt an indescribable heartbreak and sorrow.

He was confused and helpless. Just as his long-pursued love was about to come to fruition, a woman inexplicably moved into his home; then, a long-dormant love suddenly erupted. Was fate mocking him, or was he teasing his damned destiny?

Guo Guo walked in with a plate of fruit and sat down beside him with a smile.

Liu Jing turned his head and was met with Guo Guo's blissfully shy eyes. How should he begin? The wind outside was whistling loudly, and his mind was in turmoil.

"What are you thinking about?" Guo Guo asked with a smile.

"Um, I..." Liu Jing had just started to speak when Guo Guo stuffed a segment of wild tangerine into his mouth.

"Is it sweet?"

"Pretty sweet."

Guo Guo was satisfied with the answer, popped another piece into her mouth, and chewed it slowly while holding his arm.

Looking at the girl's blissful expression, Liu Jing felt he couldn't hesitate any longer, so he turned around and said, "Guo Guo, this morning, on the street, what you said, is it true?"

"Of course it's true." Guo Guo was stunned for a moment, looking at him cautiously, "You don't believe me?"

"No." Liu Jing sighed, "Why didn't you tell me before?"

Guo Guo was a little embarrassed, scratching her head, "Before... I was afraid you wouldn't like me! Now I see, you like me too, right? Even my mom can tell!"

"Really?" Liu Jing said weakly.

"Yes." Guo Guo nodded emphatically, beaming, "Let me tell you, my parents invited you to dinner to help us. But now we don't need them anymore, I've already taken care of it myself!"

Liu Jing was speechless, a bitter smile playing on his lips. It turned out that dinner also served as an engagement ceremony.

"What's wrong?" Guo Guo seemed to sense something and suddenly opened her eyes wide. "Liu Jing, you're not allowed to dislike me, absolutely not!"

Liu Jing looked at her sadly. "Guo Guo, this has nothing to do with whether I like you or not. The key is that I'm..."

"Oh, right!" Guo Guo suddenly thought of something and stared at him. "I have a secret to tell you. You absolutely can't not believe me, okay?"

Liu Jing was interrupted and nodded. "Okay, you go first."

Guo Guo glanced at him, then lowered her head, fidgeting and hesitant. Liu Jing was puzzled and looked her over, asking, "Tell me, why don't you tell me? What's the secret?"

"It's...it's..." Guo Guo suddenly straightened up, her eyes filled with fervor. "It's the day we came back after graduation..."

A pleasant cell phone ring interrupted her. Liu Jing took it out. It was Little Tiger. He hesitated for a moment, then nodded and answered the call.

"Why don't you ever call me?" Little Tiger's dissatisfied voice came through.

"Oh, I've been..." He almost drowned in the frozen lake these past two days, and he'd been seen naked by someone—could he tell her? "I've been busy looking for people these past two days, quite busy, but things are all settled, don't worry."

"When can you come back?" Fang Xi asked eagerly. She wasn't just worried, she was anxious; a day apart felt like three autumns. Her days were like a cat scratching at her.

Guo Guo sensed something was wrong after just one sentence. Her eyes widened, her face paled, and her chest heaved slightly. Liu Jing glanced at her and quickly said, "I'll leave no later than tomorrow night. I'll go home first, and I should be back around the 6th or 7th."

"So late?" Fang Xi drawled, her voice weak. The 6th or 7th were still several days away. She was so disappointed.

Guo Guo's eyes were filled with sorrow and helplessness, her expression poignant and tense. Her lips trembled. This was too cruel, Liu Jing couldn't bear it any longer: "Fang Xi, hang up now, my companion isn't feeling well. We'll talk later."

"Why is she always unwell? I'm your girlfriend, why is she being so coquettish? Just because she's

the governor's daughter doesn't mean she's so special!" Not being able to see her in person, and barely exchanging a few words on the phone, Little Tiger was unhappy.

"Don't talk nonsense!" Liu Jing snapped, "This is Tibet, the climate, the water, the time difference—it's normal."

"And you? Are you having any problems adjusting?" Fang Xi asked urgently.

"I'm fine, don't worry, that's all for now." Liu Jing hung up without waiting for a reply.

After the call, Guo Guo's face was pale, her eyes filled with despair, yet also a sliver of hope.

Liu Jing unconsciously swung the phone in his hand. Looking at her sadly, he said, "I'm sorry, Guo Guo, I was just about to tell you, I… I already have a girlfriend."

Guo Guo's heart sank to the bottom; the disappointment on her face and the sorrow in her eyes were indescribable.

Liu Jing was overwhelmed by a profound sense of powerlessness, unable to comfort or protect anyone. If he had discovered this feeling sooner, if Guo Guo had spoken up sooner, he had no doubt that they would have been happily together for a long time. But there are no "ifs" in life; fate plays tricks, always choosing the most opportune moment.

The two remained silent, locked in a bittersweet entanglement; outside the window, the evening breeze and waning moon cast a melancholy glow, prompting the question: what is love in this world

? Guo Guo smiled, a bittersweet smile, as if mocking herself: "When did you meet?"

"Some time ago, before we last met." Liu Jing hesitated briefly, choosing the date he met Little Tiger as his answer, making it seem longer.

"Is that so?" Guo Guo smoothed her short hair and silently walked to the opposite bed. "How can he have a girlfriend? He can't have a girlfriend!" A voice cried out in her heart, and she calmly sat down opposite him.

The two looked at each other, separated by the narrow aisle.

Guo Guo grinned, a smile playing on her lips. "Don't worry about it, just pretend I didn't say anything today."

Liu Jing's heart was breaking; he could barely contain himself. In just one day, Guo Guo had plummeted from a paradise of happiness to a cold abyss. Even if Guo Guo could bear it, he couldn't. Once upon a time, protecting her had become an instinct, but now he had to restrain himself—such cruel heartache.

Liu Jing couldn't help but sit closer. Guo Guo flinched, muttering, "I'm fine, don't worry about me."

Liu Jing's eyes were melancholic, but he forced a smile. "Guo Guo, let's talk for a while."

"I...I don't want to talk." Guo Guo climbed onto the bed, pulled the covers over herself, "I'm sleepy, I want to sleep."

"You really want to sleep?"

"Yes." Guo Guo nodded emphatically, turning off the bedside lamp.

"Okay, go to sleep then."

Guo Guo closed her eyes, her expression stubborn. Liu Jing sat alone on the edge of the bed, looking at her face, the wind whistling past his ears. He gently removed her glasses, turned off the bedside lamp, and lay down.

The room fell into darkness and stillness, with only the distant snow-capped mountains gleaming white in the light outside the window. Guo Guo quietly turned around, gazing at the silhouette of the bed opposite hers. A rustling sound came from outside, and moonlight filtered through the gauze curtains, reflecting in her helpless eyes. By day, they had danced together under the blue sky; by night, so close, yet she was left to languish in loneliness.

She didn't know how much time had passed when the breathing from across the bed became even. Guo Guo hesitated, then quietly got up and gently walked to the other side. There was no particular reason; she just wanted to see him, that was all. She sat on the edge of the bed, and he opened his eyes.

Guo Guo nervously turned around: "I'm sorry, I woke you up, I... I just can't sleep." Liu

Jing sat up behind her: "Guo Guo, I can't sleep either, how about... we sleep together?"

Guo Guo didn't speak, her heart pounding wildly. Without any struggle, she was already under the covers, a pair of strong arms pulling her close—a familiar embrace, a familiar warmth.

Guo Guo felt a sense of peace, looking up into the darkness, gazing at the moonlight streaming through the window.

"Go to sleep," Liu Jing comforted her.

"Can I still go to your house?" She couldn't eat anymore, so Guo Guo asked.

"Of course. It's up to you."

"Why wouldn't I go?" Guo Guo pouted stubbornly.

"That's right." Liu Jing smiled, a bitter smile.

Guo Guo wrapped her arms around his back, burying her face in his chest: "Liu Jing, tell me about your girlfriend, okay?"

"No," Liu Jing said decisively.

"Why?" Guo Guo looked up, asking weakly.

"Because I want to sleep holding you."

"You bad boy," Guo Guo scolded softly.

Looking at her gentle face, Liu Jing felt a surge of emotion, and he lowered his head to kiss her forehead. Guo Guo's eyes darted around, her face burning, and she asked nervously, "Why did you kiss me?"

"I didn't mean to, I couldn't help it." Liu Jing stroked her short hair, feeling increasingly reluctant to let her go. He realized how much he liked this girl; why hadn't he noticed before? Guo Guo turned her head, unbuttoned his shirt, and gently touched the deep scar. Liu Jing felt a little itchy, but that was nothing compared to the pain in his heart behind the scar.

"Will you ignore me from now on?" Guo Guo asked softly.

"What do you think?"

"Of course not!" Guo Guo smiled sweetly, the moonlight making her dimples appear even deeper. "We... are good friends, right?"

"Yes, good friends, even better than before." Liu Jing felt a pang of sadness and hugged her tightly.

"Oh!" Guo Guo couldn't help but exclaim, "You're choking me!"

Liu Jing laughed too, clearly feeling the two soft mounds on his chest. He whispered in her ear, "Guo Guo, seriously, what size bra are you? They're really big!"

"You..." Guo Guo blushed and pushed him away forcefully, turning her back to him. "Liu Jing, I'm really not talking to you anymore!"

"I was just kidding, don't be angry." Liu Jing hugged her from behind again, as if afraid she would run away.

Guo Guo pouted and slowly turned back around. "Liu Jing, what does your girlfriend look like? Can I meet her sometime?"

"Why do you want to meet her?"

"I just want to see her." Guo Guo sounded like she was pleading, but also very aggrieved.

"Okay. I'll treat you to dinner later, and I'll bring her too." Liu Jing agreed.

Guo Guo looked at him in the darkness, blinked, and said, "Treat me to dinner, why do you need to bring her?"

"Then what do you want?" Liu Jing felt really helpless.

Guo Guo wrapped her arms around his neck, finally unable to hold back any longer: "Liu Jing, I'm so sad, why is this happening?"

Liu Jing's heart ached: "I'm sorry, Guo Guo, it's my fault. Let's not talk about her anymore, let's go to sleep, you won't feel bad when you're asleep."

Guo Guo didn't say anything more, what could she say? Before, she could only talk to herself in the mirror, now she could finally talk to the person she liked, but it wasn't her. When love can't be demanded, it's always so powerless.

"Listen to me, go to sleep, don't think about it." Liu Jing adjusted his position slightly, making the embrace more secure.

"Mmm." Guo Guo nodded gently, tightening her arms.

The night deepened, and the two fell asleep, embracing tightly, as if trying to get closer to each other. Would the furthest distance in the world be shortened because of this?

Chapter Fifty-Four: Let Happiness Go Further

The curtains were half-drawn, the restless sounds of the night were kept outside the window, the warm wind blew, seemingly transparent and empty, yet chaotically rushing and crashing. Fang Xi's brows furrowed, her tiger-like face lowered, she leaned against the headboard, clutching a pillow, her large eyes darting anxiously back and forth.

For three whole days, the little tiger had been feeling uneasy, listless, and often found herself laughing to herself, her heart pounding as she thought of those sweet and embarrassing moments, that unforgettable first kiss. She would unconsciously touch her cherry lips, a faint smile spreading across her face.

But this time was different; she felt empty inside, filled with anxiety and uncertainty. Liu Jing hung up the phone again, his reason still being to take care of the governor's daughter, which made her uneasy. It wasn't that she was petty or distrustful; times had changed, and she didn't object to male and female classmates interacting, especially for serious matters. The key was Liu Jing's eagerness, which made her extremely uncomfortable. Her intuition told her that things between them were more than just friendship. Thinking back to the first day they met, Liu Jing was taken home by a female online friend, and now he was alone with a female classmate in Tibet, she felt a tightness in her chest, like reading a depressing scene from a novel.

The little tiger pouted, gripping the phone tightly, struggling to resist the urge to call and demand answers. "You scoundrel, just you wait, I'll dig out all your secrets!"

"Xiao Fang!" Chen Lin suddenly pushed open the door, startled by her appearance, then smiled, "Still upset? That's enough! You'll be back in a couple of days, your worry won't help."

"No, I'm not." Fang Xi glanced at her mother, putting the nearly crushed phone aside.

"Hehe, that's good. Change your clothes and come with Mom for a walk to help digest your food!" Chen Lin smiled at her daughter; she understood the feeling of having her budding romance interrupted.

"Mom, you go by yourself, I don't want to go." Fang Xi looked at her mother listlessly, pleadingly.

"No! You can't not go!" Chen Lin scolded, then couldn't help but laugh. She winked at her daughter, "You've got two days off, go out and relax. Mom has something to tell you, good news, hurry up!"

Fang Xi reluctantly perked up, changed her clothes, and went out with her mother. She didn't believe her mother had anything good to say; she was probably just teasing her.

Compared to the commercial street, the residential area wasn't bustling, but the lights were warm and inviting, giving it a more lived-in feel. Fangxi linked arms with her mother, and the two strolled under the streetlights. The May evening breeze carried the scent of summer, warming their hearts.

"Fangxi, what's wrong? You look so worried! Tell Mom." A mother is a mother after all; her daughter's expression was more than just lovesickness, Chen Lin could tell.

"Well, Mom, Liu Jing went to Tibet with a female classmate." Fangxi hesitated for a moment, then told the truth, looking at her mother for help. Girls can't always hide their feelings, especially from their mothers who have been their only family for years.

"Just because of that?" Chen Lin raised an eyebrow.

"No, not really." Little Tiger didn't know what to say, looking troubled.

"I just feel... I feel like he's... like he's really that important to that female classmate. I can't really explain it, but it just feels awkward."

Chen Lin chuckled, "Silly girl, he's busy, and you're jealous about that? If that's the case, your dad's been dead for so many years, and your mom's still always going on business trips with male colleagues. Wouldn't that make people gossip to death?"

"Oh, no! Anyway, I just... never mind, I'm not talking to you anymore." Fang Xi was anxious, but she really couldn't say anything, so she gave up. Girls are often petty, but they don't want to admit it, just like men don't want to admit they're inferior in some way.

Chen Lin smiled and shook her head, patiently saying, "Xiao Fang, it's normal for girls to care about their first love. Strictly speaking, Liu Jing is your first love right now. It's just that Yuan Kai left without a clear explanation, which makes you a little hesitant, which is normal. But you can't overthink it. The most important thing for two people to be together is mutual trust, otherwise they can't be happy. Listen to me, since you've fallen in love, just let loose and be as carefree as you want. Make yourself happy first, otherwise in a few years when you're older, you won't be able to let loose anymore, and it will be too late to regret it then."

"Oh." Fangxi looked at her mother gratefully and didn't say anything more. She didn't completely agree with her mother's words, but making herself happy was a good idea, and no one would refuse to make themselves happy.

Summer was approaching, and there were many people strolling along the roadside, mostly couples.

Fangxi looked at them tenderly, a beautiful feeling welling up in her heart. Love was wonderful; even if the person you liked wasn't by your side, you could still feel happy. Chen Lin smiled at her son, thought for a moment, and said, "Fangxi, Mom has something to discuss with you and would like to hear your opinion."

"Oh, Mom, please tell me." Fangxi was taken aback, quickly composed herself. This was the first time her mother had spoken so formally. Could it really be something good?

"Hmm." Chen Lin hesitated for a moment, then said frankly, "A few months ago, someone introduced me to a potential partner. You had just broken up with Yuan Kai then, so I didn't tell you. Now..."

"Wow! Mom, you're getting married?" Little Tiger's eyes widened, her face full of surprise. Lin had mentioned good news before she left, but she hadn't paid much attention. She hadn't expected it to be such a big deal!

Chen Lin lowered her head and smiled, a blush of happiness on her face. "It wasn't supposed to be this rushed, but..."

"But what?" Her mother hesitated, and Little Tiger asked urgently.

Chen Lin stopped, looking at her daughter with reluctance. "He's a university professor. A university in Argentina has been trying to hire him. He wanted me to go with him, but I was worried about you, so I didn't agree. Now that you and Liu Jing are almost settled, I can finally relax, so I'm asking for your opinion."

Little Tiger stared blankly at her mother for a long time before saying, "Argentina? That's so far away!"

"It is far, that's why I'm asking you." Chen Lin was worried and felt guilty. Chinese parents always feel like they owe their children something in this regard.

Little Tiger pouted and said coquettishly, "Why are you asking me? You've already made up your mind!"

Chen Lin smiled sheepishly and glared at her daughter. "So you can be all lovey-dovey, and I have to just sit back and wait? The environment in South America is nice. I've worked hard all my life, why can't I find a good place to retire?" She then continued walking.

Fangxi giggled and followed her mother, "Mom, this is a good thing! How could I object? But you're going so far away, leaving me all alone. Won't I miss seeing you?"

"Nonsense! You'll get married sooner or later, so it'll all be the same!" Chen Lin nudged her daughter and couldn't help but laugh. "Actually, this is quite good. If you want, you can go with us. Isn't Liu Jing studying lathe operation? That profession is much more sought-after abroad than in China. At worst, you can stay home as a pampered housewife and let him support you."

"Let's forget it. We don't want to be your third wheel!" Fangxi tilted her head back and rolled her big eyes.

"Heh! You child, joking with your mother?" Chen Lin feigned anger, but couldn't suppress her smile.

"Hehe, no, I'm just happy for you!" Little Tiger hugged her mother's arm affectionately and asked, "Mom, how old is he? Which university does he go to? What does he teach?

Is he famous? Is he handsome? How does he compare to Dad?"

Fangxi was very happy for her mother and excitedly asked a whole bunch of questions.

Chen Lin looked ahead and smoothed her graying temples: "His surname is also Zheng, he's the same age as Mom, and he's a professor of anatomy at the medical university. Is he famous? He should be alright, otherwise they wouldn't have hired him. By the way, when Liu Jing comes back, tell him to find a time to have a meal together so everyone can get to know each other. After Mom leaves, he'll be the one taking care of you."

"Oh." Fangxi replied casually, her face secretly blushing, her heart pounding uncontrollably. Mom was leaving, and she would be all alone at home. That scoundrel would definitely come to bully her every day. What should she do?

Separation isn't necessarily helpless, as long as happiness goes further. Chen Lin was about to leave, but neither mother nor daughter felt sad. Instead, they cherished their time together even more. That night, they walked slowly, yet far, until the stars filled the sky.

Fangxi accompanied her mother on a slow walk, all the way to Wanliutang Park. The courtyard was beautiful and tranquil, the night breeze rustling softly, and lovers embracing emerged from the depths of the woods. The mother and daughter entered through the main gate and exited through a side gate, facing the brightly lit city again.

By the roadside, in front of a hotel, a woman was saying goodbye to some people, followed by a little girl holding a balloon.

"Thank you for your help today!" the woman said cheerfully.

"It's nothing, sister-in-law, you're too kind."

"Yes, sister-in-law, we'll be going now, please contact us if you need anything!"

"Don't worry, we won't be polite. Drive carefully!" The woman saw them into the car.

"Goodbye, sister-in-law!"

"Goodbye, sister-in-law!"

A group of men drove away slowly in two police cars, the woman standing by the roadside waving goodbye, the little girl behind her imitating her mother raising her little hand, the balloon being blown away by the wind. The little girl quickly turned around and ran after it.

The balloon floated towards the road, where neon lights flashed and cars and people bustled.

"Duo Duo!" Yu Xia exclaimed in surprise, then paused, and then relaxed.

Fang Xi was walking with her mother by the roadside. Seeing this, she grabbed the balloon, picked up Duo Duo, and walked over.

"It's you, what a coincidence," Yu Xia said, a little embarrassed.

Fang Xi nodded and smiled, saying, "Is this your daughter? She's so pretty."

Yu Xia smiled but didn't say anything. Fang Xi returned the balloon to Duo Duo and asked affectionately, "How old are you? What's your name?"

"My name is Zhou Duo Duo. I'm four years old and in the second grade of kindergarten." Duo Duo opened her eyes wide and looked at the unfamiliar aunt with timidity. Liu Jing didn't even know Duo Duo's surname yet, but the little tiger knew it first.

"Really! Duo Duo is so good!" Fang Xi patted the little girl's cheek and handed the child over.

"Thank you." Yu Xia smiled and took the child, then said, "Duo Duo, why don't you thank Auntie?"

"Thank you, Auntie." The two smiled at each other, and Yu Xia turned her gaze to Chen Lin, who was also smiling beside her, with a questioning look.
