My Policewoman Lover [Complete] - 6

Chapter 41 I still have one more

thing. Liu Jing should have been furious at being so disrespected by Yu Xia, but after eight minutes and fifty seconds, he couldn't muster any anger. He should have been happy that a woman renowned throughout the city had moved into his home, but instead of being happy, he felt like a sucker.

Reading facial expressions is a human instinct, and even at four years old, with Duo Duo sitting in his lap, he timidly asked, "Daddy, are you unhappy?"

"How did you know?" Liu Jing forced a smile.

"Because the old daddy was better than mommy." Duo Duo looked at him with pleading eyes.

Liu Jing smiled, a genuine smile. Duo Duo's thinking was simple, but she was very articulate, not directly saying he was bad. Looking at the little girl's adorable face, he couldn't help but sigh, "The old daddy was the best; no one could be better than him. It's a pity you can't remember him forever."

"Mommy said he died and won't come home. Aren't you the new daddy?" Duo Duo's little mouth chattered away fluently.

"Yes, of course I'll be good to you too." Looking into Duo Duo's innocent eyes, Liu Jing suddenly felt a pang of sadness. The child was too young; if she hadn't always thought of her father, she might have already forgotten him. Now that she had a new father, it wouldn't be long before she completely forgot her biological father.

"I'm living at your house now, can you take me to kindergarten?" Children always have one thought, and Duo Duo brought up the old question again.

"Yes, if Mom is busy, I can pick you up." Liu Jing said this without being forceful, but there was still a hint of helplessness in her voice.

Duo Duo was both happy and excited upon hearing this, stretching her little neck and shouting towards the kitchen, "Mom, Dad is taking me to kindergarten, and he'll pick me up too! I'm never living at kindergarten again!"

"That's good, but you can still stay with Dad from now on, okay?" Yu Xia said sarcastically, slamming the cutting board loudly.

"Okay." Duo Duo looked at her new father and agreed without hesitation.

"Hmph!" Yu Xia pursed her lips, casting a fleeting glance. A strand of hair fell from her cheek, highlighting her elegant and graceful face, revealing a captivating beauty that seemed to transcend the mortal realm.

Liu Jing smiled bitterly as he picked up Duo Duo, his mood easing considerably.

There was no point in saying more now; the key was the little tiger. He had to do his job well, and thankfully, he had a clear conscience. His only worry now was how he would face Yu Xia's departure in two months.

By the time the meal was finished, it was dark. The moon was bright outside, and the dinner inside was warm and cozy. The mother and daughter ate attentively, as if savoring a long-lost family atmosphere. Yu Xia spoke softly and gently, feeding Duo Duo and occasionally adding food to his plate. Liu Jing was touched, but his spirits remained somewhat low.

After finishing his meal, Duo Duo ran off to watch TV. Yu Xia glanced at him and sighed softly, "Why are you looking so worried? Are you afraid you won't be able to explain it to your girlfriend?"

"We're practically living together. If you were in my shoes, would you be able to explain it easily?" Liu Jing put down his chopsticks and sighed.

"We're completely innocent. What's there to be afraid of explaining?" Yu Xia rolled her eyes and smiled secretly.

"Hmph!" Liu Jing ignored her and rolled his eyes back.

Yu Xia smiled and peeled a shrimp, putting it in his bowl: "Don't worry, I'll explain to her."

"You?" Liu Jing was both surprised and wary.

Yu Xia said seriously, "Our team hasn't had a vacation since it was formed. After May Day, I'm planning to submit a report and ask the whole team to take annual leave. We'll go on a trip somewhere nice. You can bring your girlfriend with you. I'll explain to her then."

Liu Jing frowned at her, thought for a moment, and said, "We'll see. You won't be staying long. Let's see how it goes." Yu Xia was a little dissatisfied, picked up a piece of food and chewed it, staring at him as she chewed.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Liu Jing asked, puzzled. Yu Xia patiently replied, "I can move out on time, but what happens after I move out? Will you never talk to us again?"

Yu Xia was overthinking things again, but this was also what troubled Liu Jing. He didn't know what to say, so he lowered his head and drank his soup.

Yu Xia looked at him, adopting a nonchalant attitude: "Hey, you're telling me you have no responsibility? You were drunk like a log back then, and I kindly helped you, but what did you do? Now you want to deny it? And what about Duo Duo? She's calling you 'Dad,' aren't you going to take care of her either?"

Liu Jing sighed, raised his head, and said, "Yu Xia, I don't think I said anything, have I? You're the one talking. Why don't you tell me what to do? Do you think I'm going to keep you like a mistress?"

Yu Xia was a little embarrassed and stuffed another mouthful of food into her mouth: "Fine, if you want to keep me, I have no objection. I'm not lying to you, from provincial leaders to billionaires, I've received plenty of hints from people. You should feel lucky." "

Don't talk nonsense, how could you even think of that!" Liu Jing glared at him irritably.

Yu Xia put down her chopsticks and said seriously, "Liu Jing, listen to me. No matter what, it's best not to hide it from your girlfriend. We're not really in a relationship yet, but once she finds out, you'll be in a very passive position. Besides, even if I move away, we'll still be in the same city. If Duo Duo and I want to see you, or need your help, can you just walk away? Since that's the case, what's wrong with being upfront about it? Your girlfriend seems tough, but I think she's quite reasonable. It's better to tell her the truth."

"I want to tell the truth, but how? How do I bring it up? Would you believe me if you were in my shoes?"

"Then do as you please." Yu Xia made a helpless gesture and lowered her head to eat.

Yu Xia looked beautiful under the lamplight. Looking at the person in front of him, Liu Jing had to calmly consider the current situation. Having already promised to be Duo Duo's godfather, a certain connection with Yu Xia and her mother was unavoidable. Some things had to be faced.

The two chatted idly while eating. Liu Jing's phone rang. It was Guo Guo. He felt secretly ashamed and answered the phone, "Guo Guo, I'm sorry, I lost your electric scooter. I'll do it another day..."

"What? Lost!" Guo Guo exclaimed, then said anxiously, "It's lost, so be it. Liu Jing, Qiu Yang is in trouble again!"

"In trouble again?" Liu Jing was both surprised and angry. "We've already paid for the money and the scooter, what happened to him now?"

"We don't know yet. Xiao Xin said he ran away!" Guo Guo was very anxious.

"Ran away? Where did he go? Is he healed?" Liu Jing was not only worried but also shocked. Lu Qiu Yang's most admired poets were Shi Zhi and Gu Cheng. One of them was mentally ill, and the other died of madness. He was afraid that Lu Qiu Yang would do something extreme.

"He said he went to Tibet." Guo Guo breathed a sigh of relief. "Don't say anything more. I'm driving my brother's car. I'll be at your house soon. Come downstairs now, and we'll talk to Xiao Xin together and see how to find him."

"Okay, I'll be right down." Liu Jing hung up the phone, his head throbbing.

Yu Xia listened for a while, then asked worriedly, "What's wrong? Are you going out?" Liu Jing nodded, looking at her and saying, "I might be gone for a few days. I'll give you the house key; you can move in yourself when you have time."

"No rush, give it back to me when you come back." Yu Xia's eyebrows arched, revealing a smile. "I'm not leaving tonight; I'll wait for you at home."

Yu Xia's smile was beautiful, curved like the moon outside the window, and her watery eyes were so alluring they could melt anyone's heart. Liu Jing was stunned for a moment: "You're moving in tonight?"

"I only have two months, so I can only stay one more night before I move in!" Yu Xia rolled her eyes, seemingly both pleased and annoyed.

Liu Jing sensed something was wrong and said seriously, "What do you mean? You mean that before I officially move in, no matter how long I stay, it doesn't count, and the countdown only starts after I officially move in?"

Liu Jing's expression was very serious, quite inappropriate for the cozy atmosphere under the lamplight.

Yu Xia chuckled: "Liu Jing, you really are a little man. I was just saying, but look at you, counting down the days? Do you think that if I don't leave after two months, you'll just leave us to sleep on the streets?"

Liu Jing smiled wryly, "Hey, sister, can you please use your brain? What did I do wrong? I'm just worried! You're so mature and alluring, and you're always touching me like that. If I stay one less day with you, wouldn't that reduce the chance of me making a mistake?"

Yu Xia giggled, her beautiful eyes sparkling with seductive charm, "So, you still can't forget how I felt?"

Well, she's really taking advantage of me; we clearly don't have anything in common! Liu Jing didn't waste any more words. He went inside to change his coat, patted Duo Duo's little face, and went to the door to put on his shoes.

Yu Xia followed him with a smile, her stunning face brighter than a summer morning.

"Why did you follow me?" Liu Jing asked as he put on his shoes. Yu Xia tilted her head and asked with a slight smile, "These days, how many guys your age wouldn't take a bite if it were offered to them? Why are you so afraid of making a mistake?"

"Didn't I tell you? I'm different from them." Liu Jing finished putting on his shoes and turned to face her. Yu Xia sighed softly, straightening his suit jacket: "Then you'd better hurry up and win over that little tiger!"

"What's it to you?"

"How is it none of my business?" Yu Xia glanced at him coldly, "You care about everything, even your first time. I'll just have to wait until she's done with it!"

"You... I'm not talking to you anymore." Liu Jing stared blankly, pointed for a long time, then turned and left.

Yu Xia watched him leave, turned around and leaned against the door, saying indignantly, "It's just your first time, what's the big deal? I have another one! Humph! I'll show it to you someday!"

Yu Xia muttered a few words resentfully, then went into the room haughtily: "Duo Duo, come here! Mom will give you a bath!"

Chapter 42 Bringing Happiness to Lovers

The night was bright, even though the moon was just a crescent.

Liu Jing rushed out of the building, breathing in the fresh night air. He finally had a girlfriend, but now a living person was living in his house. He couldn't even describe how he felt.

Just as Liu Jing stepped out of the residential complex gate, two car headlights darted towards him, screeching to a halt beside him. He jumped in fright. Guo Guo adjusted her glasses, flashed a sweet smile, and opened the passenger door: "Hi, Liu Jing."

Liu Jing glanced at her, then quietly got in. Once seated, he asked, "What's wrong today? Are you feeling unwell?" Guo Guo, about to drive off, paused, "No! When did I tell you?" "I

told you on the phone at noon. You said you weren't feeling well and asked me to get the car."

"Oh, I was just too lazy to move." Guo Guo's pretty face was tense, yet she was even more delighted. "By the way, how did you manage to steal my car in just one day?"

Liu Jing smiled wryly, saying apologetically, "Don't even mention it, it was gone in no time. But you don't need to buy a new one yet, I know someone in the traffic police, she said she'll help me get a stolen car, I'll bring it to you later."

"Forget it, it's just an electric scooter." Guo Guo smiled at him, stepped on the gas, and the scooter lurched forward, heading towards Lu Qiuyang's house. Liu Jing asked her if she was comfortable as soon as he got in the car, and she was delighted.

The car was driving so fast that Liu Jing glanced at her, then blankly pulled on his seatbelt and fastened it securely. He was genuinely a little uneasy, afraid that this girl might do something silly.

Guo Guo hadn't fastened her seatbelt, looked down, and said aggrievedly, "Why? I learned to drive in high school!"

"Does it matter? You've been walking since you were little, and you always fell down!" Liu Jing said indifferently.

Guo Guo pouted, then suddenly remembered something and smiled again: "Liu Jing, um... um, my parents are inviting you to dinner. Have you decided when you're free?"

Liu Jing tilted her head and looked at her: "Guo Guo, every time we meet, it's for dinner. I doubt whether you even care about Qiu Yang."

"I... we don't know anything right now. It's useless to care before we meet Xiao Xin, so I'm just talking to you. Why do you look at me like that!" Guo Guo said, feeling wronged and indignant.

Liu Jing sighed, "Guo Guo, your mother has already misunderstood us. What you need to do is explain things to her, or quickly find a boyfriend among those princelings to prove it, instead of worrying about trivial things like whether or not to have dinner."

"What?! I didn't..." Guo Guo smoothed her short hair and hurriedly said, "Didn't I tell you, I've already explained everything to them? They... only invited you to dinner to thank you."

"We'll see." Liu Jing looked at the night sky ahead and said somewhat heavily, "We'll probably have to go to Tibet to find Qiu Yang, and we don't even know if we can bring him back. We'll have to wait until we get back from Tibet."

"Then you can't back out after we get back from Tibet!" Guo Guo was extremely excited, pointing her finger at his nose, leaning her body dramatically, ignoring the steering wheel and the road.

A large truck came straight at them, and Liu Jing exclaimed in alarm, "Car!"

"Ah!" Guo Guo shouted, quickly steadying the steering wheel, and the two vehicles passed each other.

Liu Jing looked at her with a disapproving expression. Before he could speak, Guo Guo said with a mournful face, "I'm sorry, I was just being careless and talking to you."

"Forget it, I can't be bothered with you." Liu Jing said coldly, reaching out his arm to fasten her seatbelt.

Guo Guo glanced at him, then chuckled softly, the streetlights outside the window reflecting her adoring dimples. They were going to Tibet together, which would definitely take several days; her parents would invite him to dinner when they returned, and they would surely convince him. She felt that love and happiness were just around the corner, beckoning to her.

The night was so gentle, seemingly full of anticipation and mystery.

Downstairs at Lu Qiuyang's house, Guo Guo parked her car, and Liu Jing led her upstairs. Xiao Xin, her eyes red from crying, anxiously welcomed them in, handing them a note. Liu Jing glanced at it and casually tossed it aside. Just as he expected, Lu Qiuyang said he was going to Tibet for some peace and quiet, and that he shouldn't worry about him. He also said that if he didn't return for a certain period of time, Xiaoxin shouldn't wait for him and should go find someone else. He was furious. What kind of man would say that?

Xiaoxin looked at the two of them, worriedly saying, "Liu Jing, Guo Yang, I don't know what to do now. Can you think of a way to help me find him?"

Liu Jing sighed, "Xiaoxin, don't worry. Qiuyang has an uncle who is a lama in Tibet. I guess he must have gone to his uncle's place. Do you have an address or phone number?"

Xiaoxin shook her head, her eyes reddening again. Guo Guo glanced at him and said worriedly, "Liu Jing, what should we do?"

Liu Jing calmly replied, "Don't worry, check the flights to Lhasa today right away and see when they arrive. If there's enough time, ask your parents or your brother for help; they definitely know people in the regional government. See if they can intercept him. If there's not enough time, check Qiu Yang's hometown and see what his uncle's name is. Ask the Tibetan authorities to help find his uncle; that might also lead to him."

"I'll check right away,"

Liu Jing added. "Xiao Xin, you should pack your things too. We'll leave tomorrow, transiting through Beijing to Lhasa. Don't worry, we'll definitely find him and persuade him to come back."

"I..." Xiao Xin looked at the two of them, a troubled expression on her face.

Liu Jing's heart sank. "Xiao Xin, I know Qiu Yang has wronged you and doesn't deserve you, I understand that, but he's depressed right now. Can you wait until he recovers..."

"No, no, you misunderstood!" Xiao Xin quickly waved her hands, tears finally streaming down her face. "I have altitude sickness in Tibet, and I'm pregnant, I can't go with you."

The two were shocked, then deeply moved.

"Does he know?" Liu Jing asked.

"It's only been a few days, I haven't told him yet."

Liu Jing was furious and slammed his fist on the table. "Xiao Xin, don't worry, I'll tie him up and bring him back, I'll talk him until he's hoarse, just wait for him to come back and live a good life with you."

"Thank you." Xiao Xin's eyes were filled with tears. "Actually, I've never blamed him. Qiu Yang, he..."

Liu Jing didn't want to listen and walked away without looking back. He hoped that everyone he didn't know in the world was as great and noble as Qiu Yang, but he absolutely didn't want his friends or relatives to be like that. That would be idiots, and nobody wants an idiot friend, including him. Guo Guo comforted Xiao Xin for a couple of minutes and then hurriedly followed her out.

In the night sky, the moon was still gentle, and the wind was still warm.

After leaving the building, Liu Jing let go of Guo Guo's hand. He wanted to curse a few times, but he didn't. He was already exhausted by Lu Qiu Yang, and often regretted knowing him. But this time was different. Xiao Xin's ordinary and selfless love made him ashamed. He was determined to make Lu Qiu Yang realize the truth, not for anything else, but so that two people who love each other could live happily together.

Liu Jing was very confident that on that highest land on Earth, perhaps Lu Qiu Yang could see the world clearly.

Chapter 43 First Kiss

Night fell, neon lights flickered, and thousands of lights shone around them. The two said goodbye by the roadside.

"I'm leaving." Guo Guo was reluctant to part, but also eager.

"Time is tight, hurry up and go."

"I'll pick you up tomorrow morning, wait for my call."

"Okay, drive carefully."

Watching Guo Guo drive away, Liu Jing hailed a taxi. The two had decided that Guo Guo would go back to ask his family for help, and they would fly to Lhasa together the next day. Guo Guo wanted to take him home, but due to the urgency of the situation, Liu Jing didn't allow it, and she didn't insist.

After getting into the taxi, Liu Jing called Deng Jihong to ask for leave. Actually, it wouldn't have mattered if he hadn't asked for leave; tomorrow was the last day before the May Day holiday, only half a day's work, but he did it out of respect.

Putting away his phone, Liu Jing couldn't help but sigh. He had planned to go home and spend a few days with his parents, but it seemed that was out of the question.

Downstairs at Xiao Laohu's house, Liu Jing got out of the car, took out his phone again, and thought that he didn't know how many days he would be gone, so he wanted to see them one last time before leaving.

The call connected, and Little Tiger's voice came through: "What time is it? Why did you only call me now?"

It was 9:30, and Liu Jing knew that, of course. "I had something to do tonight, so I just managed to get away. Come down, let's meet."

"Now? My mom's almost asleep, no way!" Little Tiger had been waiting all day, and was both anxious and annoyed. "It's your fault for not calling sooner. As punishment, I won't let you see me today. We'll see how you behave tomorrow!"

Liu Jing laughed: "Fangxi, stop fooling around. I'm going on a long trip tomorrow, maybe for a few days. Hurry up and come down."

"Isn't tomorrow a holiday? Where are you going?"

"I'll tell you when I get down."

Before long, Little Tiger, wearing slippers, a bathrobe, and an overcoat, rushed out.

"Where are you going?" Fangxi asked anxiously. The moonlight was bright tonight, but it couldn't hide the disappointment and reluctance in her eyes.

"Are you cold?" Liu Jing asked instead of answering, looking her over, a gentle feeling of tenderness and heartache welling up inside her.

"I'm fine. Where are you going?" Little Tiger couldn't wait any longer.

“Come here,” Liu Jing said, pulling her aside and embracing her. Fang Xi obediently wrapped her arms around his waist, looking up to await his answer.

Liu Jing felt a pang of reluctance, stroking her temples. “I have to go to Tibet. I’m leaving tomorrow.”

“Tibet! That’s so far! Why?” The little tiger asked listlessly, her voice drawn out.

Liu Jing answered truthfully, “A classmate of mine ran away. His girlfriend is pregnant, and I’m going to find him.”

“How many days will you be gone?” The little tiger seemed oblivious to the deeper reasons, displaying a typical woman’s mentality.

The night breeze ruffled the little tiger’s hair, and Liu Jing hugged her tighter. “It’s hard to say, probably a few days. If I still have time off, I’ll go home and check on things, then come back as soon as possible; if I’ve missed my leave, I’ll come right back.”

Fang Xi fell silent, burying her head in his chest, reluctant to part. Liu Jing also felt a pang of sadness, holding the delicate body in his arms tightly. Although they had only known each other briefly, their relationship had progressed rapidly, and now, in the throes of passionate love, they had to separate. How could he bear it?

Liu Jing helped her up and looked at her, saying, "Little Tiger, did you talk to Mom when you got home yesterday? What did she say?"

"What's it to you?" Fang Xi was downcast, but she still had a tough tongue.

Liu Jing knew what was going on and smiled as he grabbed her shoulders, "Fang Xi, I'm leaving tomorrow. Promise me you'll be my official girlfriend, so I can leave in peace."

Little Tiger looked at him and said expressionlessly, "Then promise me one thing first?"

"Say it."

Fang Xi stared into his eyes, "If I become your girlfriend, you can't break up with me."

"Do you even need to tell me that!" Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated. "You've been worrying about this all along, is it just for this?"

Fang Xi's tiger-like eyes blinked, but she still stubbornly waited for his answer. Liu Jing suddenly realized something and tentatively asked, "Fangxi, you're not scared of being dumped by that guy, are you?"

"That's exactly it!" Fangxi's eyes instantly welled up with tears; months of pent-up resentment suddenly erupted. "Even if I don't like him, I don't want to be dumped! Why did he have to?"

Liu Jing finally understood what was going on and turned his head away in pain. He had spent two years frantically studying psychology through correspondence courses in college. "Little Tiger" likely suffers from a mild psychological disorder, colloquially known as "well rope psychology." This kind of psychology has many consequences. Considering she had said she wasn't a very obedient girl, her confidence must have been damaged.

That damn guy, he actually hurt my Little Tiger's confidence! Liu Jing cursed under his breath, looking into her eyes and saying, "Fangxi, calm down. Let me analyze your relationship with that guy. Listen carefully."

The little tiger froze, tears streaming down her face. "Didn't I already tell you? What more do you want? Liu Jing, I really..."

"Listen to me!" Liu Jing snapped, pulling the girl into his arms with a heavy heart. He whispered in her ear, "Fangxi, you're an excellent girl. There aren't many girls better than you these days. Meeting you is the luckiest and most fulfilling thing that's ever happened to me."

Girls love hearing such compliments, and Fangxi calmed down considerably, looking at him with tearful eyes.

The effect was good. Liu Jing began his analysis: "You don't actually like him. Being with him is frustrating. You're usually indifferent, and you're constantly struggling to get rid of him. In short, you're psychologically in a very high position, and you've never thought he would leave you willingly, right?"

Fangxi didn't know what he was going to say and nodded blankly.

Liu Jing looked at her tenderly and continued, "You once said that if he didn't leave, you simply couldn't bear to leave him. I'm telling you, this means that subconsciously you've already started to consider adapting to him, and you're quite serious about it."

"Maybe, my mom always advises me," Fang Xi seemed to understand something.

Liu Jing calmly said, "So when he left, you felt it was very sudden and unimaginable. If I'm not mistaken, he definitely didn't explain things clearly when he left, and you don't even know why you were dumped, right?"

Little Tiger felt wronged again: "He... he just sent me a text message saying sorry, and then went abroad."

Damn! He actually did it this way, that's so unmanly!

Liu Jing cursed inwardly, and continued, "That settles it. If he had explained things clearly, you would have felt relieved; but he left without explanation, causing you a huge psychological gap. You have a severe lack of self-confidence, wondering if there's something wrong with you, if you're disliked? Then you become anxious and lack courage, especially when it comes to love."

Fang Xi's eyes lit up, and she suddenly understood: "Yes, yes, it seems... pretty much right?"

Liu Jing smiled and said, "Now you should understand. That guy didn't think you were bad, nor did he dislike you. He's just a cowardly piece of trash. Faced with the opportunity to go abroad, he weighed the pros and cons and chose to go abroad, abandoning you. It's that simple."

The little tiger finally felt relieved, grinned, and looked a little embarrassed: "You know psychological analysis?"

"Of course! I know a lot more!" Liu Jing was both happy and proud. "Didn't I tell you long ago? I'm the Wu Song sent by heaven to subdue you. You little tiger, you have no chance against me. Otherwise, how could I be so knowledgeable and insightful? I'm here to rescue you!"

Fang Xi was overjoyed, her heart overflowing with happiness. She wrapped her arms around his neck: "Then tell me, do you dare to dump me?"

Liu Jing kissed her forehead: "I went through so much trouble to cling to you, of course I wouldn't do something so stupid!"

"You still have the nerve to say that." The little tiger pressed herself against his chest with satisfaction, burying herself deeply in him. The

two embraced for a long time, reluctant to part, their bodies rubbing hotly against each other through their clothes.

Liu Jing reluctantly helped the girl up, looking at her with infinite reluctance: "Fangxi, go on your way, I have to go."

The little tiger looked up, her face full of grievance: "Liu Jing, I won't let you go!"

Liu Jing's heart almost melted, but after some psychological analysis and hugging, a long time had passed: "Listen to me, go on your way, or you'll catch a cold, and Mom will worry!"

"No! I won't let you go!" The little tiger threw herself into his arms, clinging tightly to his waist.

Liu Jing hugged her tightly, holding her back, stroking her head, gazing wistfully into the distance. The sky was clear, the moon shone brightly, the night was still young, and the bittersweet feeling of parting was both heart-wrenching and intoxicating—all because of that damned autumn sun!

People passed by occasionally, their footsteps light and soft, but the two paid no attention, their hearts only filled with each other and the moon in the sky.

Fangxi looked up, her bright eyes sparkling, and pouted, saying, "Liu Jing, I'm completely in love with you now. I'm your official girlfriend. Remember, you can't break up with me. You have to be good and listen to me, and you can't make me angry. If you really get angry, you have to coax me. And you absolutely can't mess around with other girls, understand?"

"Okay," Liu Jing nodded, feeling touched, amused, and speechless. He was touched because his little tiger's love was always direct and frank; he was amused because his little tiger was so focused on being the boss; and he was speechless because someone was already living in his house, and he couldn't tell her yet, at least not in this situation.

"Then I'm leaving," Fangxi said, holding his hand and looking at him with reluctance.

Liu Jing gazed at her captivating face, his heart stirred, and he pulled her back: "Little Tiger, we hugged yesterday, and today you're officially my girlfriend. I'm going out again tomorrow, so let's move on to our next project, shall we?"

Fang Xi, of course, knew what project it was. Her face flushed, and she looked around anxiously: "Here? Won't someone see us?"

"No, it's so late, who would be here?" Liu Jing looked around again, then said eagerly, "We're being perfectly aboveboard, what's there to be afraid of? Come on, let's hurry."

Fang Xi was filled with a mixture of shyness and joy, her heart pounding wildly. Her eyes darted around, and after a moment's hesitation, she slowly closed her eyes, her long ponytail hanging down behind her, her rosy cheeks beaming with a smile

. The moon in the sky smiled radiantly at her face, more beautiful than a peach blossom. The sky there was a gentle, persistent tenderness.

Liu Jing suppressed his intense excitement and cupped his little tiger's burning face in his hands. Fang Xi's delicate body trembled slightly, her brows furrowed, and her long eyelashes trembled nervously.

Liu Jing took a deep breath and slowly lowered his head towards those red, cherry-like lips.

Their lips met, and the soft sensation made Fang Xi's delicate body tremble. She couldn't help but wrap her arms around his neck.

Their lips began to lightly touch, one after another, gradually increasing in intensity, affectionately tugging and finally sealing together. When their lips became familiar with each other's sensations, they were no longer satisfied with a mere taste. Fang Xi, panting, opened her small mouth first. Liu Jing hesitated slightly before probing his tongue into the little tiger's warm, fragrant mouth.

The little tiger was much more straightforward than him, immediately responding. Although it flinched slightly upon contact, it quickly returned and boldly began to entwine with him. The rough surface of his tongue and the smooth, soft body of his tongue—the stimulation of these two different sensations was precisely the charm of kissing. After a brief moment of awkwardness, the two little ones began to frantically circle, curl, and rub against each other, sharing the taste of each other's saliva in their mouths.

Kissing wasn't just simple sweetness; it was accompanied by a tremor of the soul. The sensation, starting from the tip of the tongue, gradually spread across the tongue and the entire mouth, causing the body to heat up. Then came the ignition of the soul, the swelling of the body, and the explosion of desire.

Fang Xi's brows furrowed, and she continuously emitted low moans from her mouth and nose. As her passion surged, her restraint rapidly crumbled deep within her body. The contact between tongues was no longer enough. Little Tiger stood on tiptoe, tightly embracing his lover's neck, wrapping his tongue around hers, and greedily and roughly sucking on it.

Liu Jing's hands impatiently caressed Fang Xi's back, finally bravely sliding down to her firm and elastic buttocks, forcefully grasping and squeezing the two full mounds. The flesh of her buttocks pulled on the muscles around Little Tiger's anus, and a strange sensation came over him.

"Ugh!" Fang Xi let out a soft moan, opening her eyes in shock and confusion. That feeling was so strange, so terrifying, yet so anticipated.

The little tiger's groans were undoubtedly the best aphrodisiac at this moment. Liu Jing was so excited that his crotch was hard, and he eagerly wanted to put his hand inside the clothes to directly feel the elasticity and fleshiness of the little tiger's body. However, the little tiger was wearing a bathrobe, and he would have to lift the hem of the bathrobe to find the right spot. He fumbled around for a long time, but couldn't find the right place. Frustrated, he reluctantly put his hands up and down between the little tiger's buttocks and thighs.

"Ugh!...No! Liu Jing, don't!" Fang Xi was flustered and hurriedly twisted her body, her buttocks back, and looked at him with pleading eyes.

Liu Jing moved his hands back and continued to hold the little tiger's buttocks, pulling her back into his arms. The kiss was only halfway done; the little tiger's tongue hadn't been given to him yet. Men are powerful and proactive animals, and they will always penetrate first, whether it's sex or kissing.

Fang Xi, knowing better, selflessly put her fragrant little tongue into his mouth, both active and passive, and the first kiss entered the second half.

Wow! "So beautiful," Liu Jing thought, immediately seizing her, passionately sucking, letting the darkness guide his desire.

Their bodies pressed together, Liu Jing holding her tightly, his touch both gentle and rough. Fang Xi leaned back, cupping his face, her cheeks flushed. She clearly felt something huge pressing against her abdomen through her clothes, hot and throbbing. She felt both shy and beautiful, wanting to escape but unable to, her moans a happy yet weak groan, her body grinding against his.

Their first kiss, a long, sweet kiss, thrilling and intoxicating, stimulating and sensual. Before their brief separation, the crescent moon and the enchanting night witnessed their unspoken understanding. We have no doubt that throughout their long lives, they will experience many similar kisses, more passionate, more intense, more frenzied, but this initial spark will only happen once. After a long while,

their lips parted, a thin, glistening strand of liquid flashing and breaking in the moonlight. They held hands, gazing at each other, their lips still wet, carrying the taste of each other's saliva.

This kiss, so beautiful. The night breeze was so gentle. In a small coastal town, in an ordinary family home, an elderly couple sat side by side under the lamp, a television playing in front of them. Both were around fifty years old. The man had a square face, radiating determination and stubbornness, exuding an indomitable aura; the woman was slightly plump, quite prosperous, with a round face that always seemed to be smiling—a typical optimist. What was particularly striking was the inconspicuous cane beside the man.

This elderly couple were Liu Jing's parents: Liu Weihua, the Party Secretary of the County Industrial Bureau, and Ding Hua, the Vice Chairman of the County Trade Union—one a deputy director, the other a section chief. Although their ranks weren't high, in this small county-level city, they were considered minor officials.

"These days, not a single TV drama is watchable," Liu Weihua grumbled, stubbing out his cigarette.

“Just watch it for now, what else can you do?” Ding Hua glanced at her husband, then continued to focus on the boring TV screen.

“I’m not watching anymore, I’m going to wash up and go to bed.” Liu Weihua grabbed his cane and was about to get up.

Ding Hua turned off the TV, preparing to go to bed with her husband. Suddenly, the phone rang. Ding Hua glanced at it and quickly picked it up: “Xiao Jing, calling so late, is something wrong?” “Mom, how have you been

lately?” Liu Jing asked before answering. “Mom’s fine, how about you, are you tired from work?” “Not tired. How’s Dad?” “Your dad, he…” Ding Hua turned to look at her husband. Liu Weihua saw it was his son calling and immediately put on a look of exasperation. Ding Hua glared at her husband and continued, “Your dad’s still the same, just ignore him.” Liu Jing smiled, somewhat helplessly. Before he could speak again, Ding Hua asked, "Xiao Jing, you're on holiday tomorrow, right? When are you coming home?" Liu Jing replied, "I'm not sure yet. A classmate ran into some trouble, and I'm going to Tibet tomorrow. I should be able to go back in a few days." "Oh." Ding Hua was a little disappointed, but didn't seem to mind. "Okay, then don't rush home. Have some fun after you've finished your business. Tibet is quite far, and it's not easy to go there." "If I can go back, I should. I can always go another time." Liu Jing was grateful for her mother's understanding and felt she should go back even more. "Whatever you want." Ding Hua adjusted her posture and asked hopefully, "Xiao Jing, are you dating anyone?" She glanced at her husband as she spoke. Liu Weihua sat up straight and quietly perked up his ears. Liu Jing laughed and said, "Yes, I have one." "I have one!" Ding Hua almost jumped off the sofa, eagerly pressing her ear to the phone to ask, "What does she look like? How old is she? Where does she work? When are you bringing her home so Mom can see her?" Liu Jing smiled and answered one by one, "She's quite pretty, about the same age as me, a few months younger. She's a civil servant at the Municipal Youth League Committee. As for when to bring her home, we'll talk about it later. I have her picture on my phone; I'll show it to you when I get back." "Okay, then stop playing around and come home as soon as you're done. Mom's waiting." Ding Hua was overjoyed that her son had a girlfriend. After hanging up the phone, Ding Hua couldn't wait to tell her husband, "Xiao Jing has a girlfriend!" "I heard it a while ago, why are you saying it so loudly?" Liu Weihua habitually became angry. Ding Hua complained, "Look at you! Your son has a girlfriend and you're still like this? You're not acting like a father at all! Our Xiao Jing is so good, he doesn't smoke or drink, everyone praises him, but you're always making trouble, always complaining. Xiao Jing didn't come home after the New Year, it's all your fault!" "Good? He's always doing nothing, a complete liar," Liu Weihua said indignantly. Like many fathers in China, Liu Weihua always looked down on his son. Of course, he didn't really dislike him; under the old patriarchal system, fatherly love was mostly expressed in this way, which, strictly speaking, could be considered a feudal remnant. "You're so capable! You've been a secretary for so many years and haven't even become a bureau chief, earning less than half of your son's salary, and you still have the nerve to complain." "So what if I'm a bureau chief? It's all because of me..." "Enough, stop being so stubborn!" Ding Hua interrupted. "What's wrong with a father liking his son? Why do you have to pretend all the time! I bought a house for our son, why didn't you say anything?" "I only found out later, otherwise do you think I would have agreed? Humph, he thinks he's capable? If he's so capable, let him earn it himself!" Thinking of his son disobeying his work assignment and going to the provincial capital without permission, Liu Weihua was furious. "Come on, if you hadn't said anything, you would have found him that lousy job!" Ding Hua pushed her husband. "Alright, stop getting angry for no reason. Go wash up, I'll massage your legs before you go to sleep." Liu Weihua didn't say anything more and went to wash up, leaning on his crutch. For over twenty years of marriage, every night before bed, Ding Hua would remove her prosthetic leg and massage his legs, even though it wasn't necessary, it always warmed his heart. ... The taxi moved forward in the colorful night, and Liu Jing put away his phone. Facing the many lights outside, he felt a slight sadness, feeling very sorry for his parents. Going to university at eighteen was his first time leaving home, filled with excitement. Now, almost five years later, those feelings were gone, the youthful arrogance worn away. He never imagined that leaving would mean completely leaving the home where he grew up. Living alone in a strange city, he didn't feel tired of living, nor did he feel like a wanderer or adrift. There were just too many things he couldn't give up, even things from a long time ago. The car stopped, he paid and got off. The surrounding buildings emitted warm lights, and he truly felt his own existence. Chapter 44 Building a Harmonious Society The house was quiet. The door to the other room was closed; he guessed Duo Duo was already asleep. He went straight to his room. Yu Xia's hair was wet, and she was only wearing a bra and panties, sitting in front of the computer wrapped in a thin blanket. She had clearly just showered; her alluring figure was bright and smooth, half-concealed, incredibly sexy and seductive. "You're back?" Yu Xia closed the browser, grabbed the blanket, and stood up. "Hmm. Why are you dressed like this?" Liu Jing looked her over as he took off his coat. "What could I do? You don't have any pajamas, and I can't exactly wear my uniform." Yu Xia took her coat and hung it up. It seemed she had gotten to know the house quite well while he was away. Liu Jing didn't say anything and sat down on the edge of the bed. He always slept in shorts, without any of those refined habits. "Are you really going out tomorrow? Where are you going?" Yu Xia asked, sitting down next to him. "Tibet." "That far? What happened?" "It's about a classmate, nothing serious." Liu Jing didn't say much, looking at her and saying, "It's late, you should go to sleep." "I'll go to sleep right away, you go wash up." Liu Jing nodded, got up and left. Considering Yu Xia was there, he didn't shower, just washed his hands and feet, brushed his teeth, and went back to his room. The room was warmly lit, and Yu Xia lay in his bed, looking at him with alluring eyes. "Hey, why aren't you sleeping in my bed?" Even though he was prepared, he was still startled. “I can’t sleep, talk to me.” Yu Xia generously patted the bedside. “What’s there to talk about? I have to go out tomorrow, stop messing around!” Liu Jing sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at her. “Why are you so nosy!” Yu Xia threw off the covers and tried to pull him down. Liu Jing didn’t struggle and obediently lay down. Some things needed to be said, and lying down with Yu Xia might be an easier way for her to accept it. The covers wrapped tightly around them, and Yu Xia was as happy as a child, curled up beside him, her white skin glowing, hugging his arm and looking at him. The night outside was quiet, and the soft lamplight illuminated her fair skin. Liu Jing turned around and said seriously, "Yu Xia, since you've already moved in, I won't say anything more. Last time it was barely acceptable, but it's different now. I have a girlfriend, a real girlfriend. It's not appropriate for us to continue like this." "What's inappropriate?" Yu Xia rolled her beautiful eyes, her face calm and still. "Whether you have a girlfriend or not, I'm still your woman. What business is it of anyone else's?" Liu Jing had a bit of a headache and patiently said, "Times have changed. You're not even thirty yet. You have a long life ahead of you. We've only talked for a few months. I made a mistake, and you've already staked yourself on me. I can't give you anything!" "I didn't ask you for anything either!" Yu Xia rolled over and lay on the bed. "Didn't I tell you? Duo Duo is so young. I definitely won't look for someone else. Besides, our situation is clear. It's obviously not suitable. I just don't want to leave you." Liu Jing was a little confused: "Then what do you mean?"

Yu Xia lowered her head slightly, her bright eyes gazing at him: "It means you'll be my man, the father of Duo Duo. After we move away, you can think of us when you have time, and visit us often, that's all."

Yu Xia, after her bath, was not only beautiful but also fragrant. Liu Jing was stunned for a moment and said, "Being the father of Duo Duo is no problem, I already am. Thinking of you and seeing you is fine, but... but what does 'be your man' mean?"

Liu Jing was very rational and persistent. Yu Xia smiled beautifully and leaned closer to him: "It means you'll be my husband."

"What?" Liu Jing almost jumped up.

"Don't argue!" Yu Xia pressed him down, looking deeply into his eyes, and said, "Liu Jing, I know this request is rude, but I'm completely attached to you now, I really can't live without you, I feel terrible every day! So I've thought it through, you can find someone suitable, marry whoever you want, I don't care, but I'm your wife too, you have to treat me well."

After Yu Xia finished speaking, she hugged his neck tightly, her face showing a very aggrieved expression.

Liu Jing frowned deeply, saying weakly, "Yu Xia, why are you doing this to yourself? I'm young and inexperienced, just an ordinary person. You're so outstanding, how could you not find someone?"

Yu Xia leaned against him, smiling bitterly, "Do you think I don't want to? But I met you, and now I've gotten myself into this mess again. To tell you the truth, I'm not looking anymore. I'll just follow you, this little man. Who told me we were destined to be together?"

"Destined to be together?" Liu Jing felt he was destined to be with the little tiger.

"Of course we're destined. You appeared at that time, stayed with me for so long, and even possessed me. I'm a woman, so who else would I follow if not you?" Yu Xia raised her eyebrows, her challenging gaze serious.

"You..." Liu Jing was about to faint. "Aren't you cheating?"

Yu Xia giggled and kissed him on the cheek. "Even if I am. Anyway, I never change my mind once I've made a decision, and I never regret it once I've done it. Like I said, blame yourself for raping me back then, otherwise none of this would have happened."

Liu Jing didn't know what to say, so he said, "Yu Xia, do you know that before I went home, Little Tiger and I had just officially become girlfriends, and then you told me all this?"

"So what? I said I didn't care, I didn't steal her away." Yu Xia suddenly laughed and rolled over. "Hey, Liu Jing, let me tell you, my husband was someone else's man that I snatched away!"

"I said that." Liu Jing looked her up and down, his eyes quite unfriendly. "He's obviously several years older than you!"

Yu Xia was stunned for a moment, then slapped him. "What are you talking about! What's wrong with being a few years older? I'm older than you! I stole someone's boyfriend, not their husband!"

"Is there a difference? It's all the same, it's stealing." Liu Jing said with a sidelong glance.

Yu Xia didn't seem to care, a gentle smile appearing on her face, seemingly both gratified and nostalgic: "Let me tell you, don't let my husband's age fool you, he's really outstanding, so many girls like him. I had just graduated when I met him at a wedding. He was with his girlfriend, a TV host. I fell for him at first sight, and then I tried to win him over. I ended up getting him, and his girlfriend hates me now; she won't even talk to me when we meet."

Liu Jing chuckled inwardly. Actually, he admired this kind of personality; not fighting for one's own happiness would be foolish. Of course, he couldn't say this aloud; now wasn't the time to praise her.

Yu Xia, engrossed in conversation, pulled his hand again and said, "Liu Jing, we're actually quite alike. Take that little tiger, for example. You liked her the moment you saw her, and you were practically all for her in a day. Isn't that similar to me?"

"Nonsense! I pursued her normally; you practically snatched her. The nature of the two is completely different."

"I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about our personalities." Yu Xia, getting excited

, sat up abruptly. "Do you know why I have this kind of personality? Because I saw a quote in middle school that I adopted as my motto." "What quote?" Liu Jing, intrigued, sat up as well.

Yu Xia opened her eyes wide and said, word by word, "Before thirty, act without hesitation; after thirty, act without regret."

She finished speaking and looked at him with a smile. That look, those words, put immense pressure on Liu Jing, making him even forget that the woman before him was only wearing three points, her enormous breasts almost spilling out so close.

Liu Jing paused, "Who said that? Isn't that a trap!"

Yu Xia's eyes sparkled, and she chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck, "Yeah, I'm not thirty yet, so I'm not hesitating; once I'm over thirty, you'll be young, strong, and full of energy, and I'll have even less reason to regret it."

Liu Jing was exasperated, glancing at her without saying a word. Yu Xia tilted her head, sighed softly, and held out her hand, "Fine, let's not talk about it tonight. You can adjust slowly. Give me the key?"

Liu Jing pushed her away and found a spare key.

Yu Xia held it out in her hand, looked at it reluctantly, and gazed at him pitifully.

Liu Jing sighed and said bluntly, "Yu Xia, you've already put it this way, so I have nothing more to say. Your conditions... I can agree to them. From now on, I'll take care of anything that happens to you and your daughter. But I have one condition: you must respect me and not force me to do anything I don't want to do."

"How can that be? That's... a very important aspect!" Yu Xia pouted aggrievedly and shouted, "You've done something bad and found a new lover, so you want to hide it? Why should I? I've given you so many firsts, how is that disrespectful? I've made myself perfectly clear, and you're still playing games with me? No way, I'm ignoring this condition!"

"I admit I did something bad, and I've agreed to your conditions. What more do you want?" Liu Jing argued vehemently.

"Don't give me that crap. Don't think I don't understand what you mean. Who are you trying to fool?" Yu Xia's imposing manner completely overwhelmed him. Pointing her finger at his nose, she said, "Let me tell you, Liu Jing, you lent me your house for two months, and I'll give you two months. If you can't win over that little tiger within two months, I'll take you down. We'll see!"

"Damn it! You're threatening me?" Liu Jing jumped up.

"I am threatening you, so what?" Yu Xia jumped up just as fiercely, waving her hand. "Do you believe me? I'll go to the Municipal Youth League Committee tomorrow and confront her!"

"You really think I'm afraid of you?" Liu Jing was provoked. Trembling, he took out his phone, found the little tiger's number, and said, "You don't have to wait until tomorrow. This is her number. If you've got the guts, confront her now!"

"Tch!" Yu Xia rolled her eyes and shoved him away dismissively. "You know I can't fight, yet you act like a bull. Who are you trying to scare?"

With that, Yu Xia got out of bed and walked towards the door with her proud figure.

Liu Jing was furious: "I knew you wouldn't go to the Municipal Youth League Committee!"

"That's settled then." Yu Xia chuckled, leaning against the door and turning back, "So I advise you to think carefully about how to build a harmonious society!" With that, she drifted away.

Liu Jing: "Damn it..."

Chapter 45 Between Pretending to Be Cool and Being Awesome

It was past midnight. Liu Jing turned off his computer, took off his clothes, turned off the lights, and went to bed. The darkness inside the room contrasted sharply with the stillness outside the window, and his mind quickly calmed down. He wasn't really angry, but some things needed to be thought about.

Liu Jing never thought that rape was a mistake. If he could retain even a trace of memory, perhaps he would. But living means facing reality. A mistake is a mistake, and you have to admit it. This has nothing to do with guilt, especially since Yu Xia had made herself perfectly clear.

Liu Jing longed for perfect love, but as someone born in the 1980s, he wasn't averse to or rejecting certain popular relationships. But opinions are one thing, and it's another when it comes to oneself. Yu Xia's idea of creating a harmonious society struck him as ridiculous. Not only did it contradict his long-held pursuits and moral values, but how could such a thing be harmonious? How could it be harmonious at all? Just avoiding any imbalance would be a good outcome!

"Easy for you to talk when you're not the one suffering," Liu Jing thought. "Anyone can brag!" He

was easygoing. While Yu Xia gave him a headache, he didn't really care. He felt a pang of sympathy for Fang Xi, though. The little tiger must have suffered greatly under his pressure, but thankfully, that was over. The little tiger was happy now, and he was gratified, just as happy. Liu Jing had little romantic experience and had never pursued a girl before, but he firmly believed that if you liked someone, you should use any means necessary to win them over quickly. Otherwise, if someone else got there first, you'd have nowhere to cry. In his four years of university, he'd seen too many pretentious, roundabout, and strategic guys who ended up losing their crushes and dying like drunken dogs. He wouldn't do something so foolish.

Love wasn't a process, it was a result. A man wasn't a man until he got the woman he liked; otherwise, it was meaningless. This was Liu Jing's unwavering view on love.

It was late at night, and Liu Jing went to sleep peacefully. That bastard Lu Qiuyang was still thousands of miles away waiting for him to find her; he really didn't have the time to think about women.

The next day, after breakfast, Liu Jing was packing his luggage. Yu Xia came out of the kitchen and entered his room: "All packed? The temperature difference in Tibet is big, did you bring sweaters and long johns?"

"Yes, I brought everything," Liu Jing said, turning around.

Yu Xia walked up to him, gazing at him with infinite longing, her mature body, clad in her uniform, tall and alluring.

"Yu Xia, shouldn't we... take Duo Duo to kindergarten?" Liu Jing didn't know what to say, so he could only remind her.

Yu Xia rolled her eyes at him, subconsciously adjusting his shirt collar, her face full of sorrow: "Liu Jing, I just moved in, less than a day ago, and you're leaving already, tell me... is this my fate, I'm the kind of person who..."

"Don't think like that! What does this have to do with you? Everything's already arranged there, I can find people when I get there, and I'll be back in a few days." Liu Jing felt sad hearing this, but it wasn't convenient to comfort her, so he could only state the facts.

Yu Xia smiled sadly, nestled into his arms, and looked up at him, her eyes slightly red. "Liu Jing, don't forget, you're my husband now. Come back early, and remember there's a woman waiting for you at home."

Liu Jing's eyes were vacant, his expression wooden. He ran his fingers through her hair, whether in reply or comfort, it was unclear.

Yu Xia slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and gently kissed his cheek. Liu Jing finally reached out weakly and wrapped his arms around her waist. Yu Xia gazed at him, smiling beautifully, then suddenly turned and drifted away. In the instant she left, her deep gaze lingered, accompanied by her flowing hair.

Liu Jing sighed deeply. It was only the first day, and they hadn't even officially moved in yet. He couldn't imagine what he would be like in the two months after officially moving in.

Around eight o'clock, Guo Guo called, and Liu Jing came downstairs with his luggage.

The weather outside was beautiful; the morning glow was fresh and bright, and the sunlight felt pleasant on his skin. May Day is usually rainy, but this year is different. Thinking about how he just got a girlfriend and had a rare holiday, yet he was out in a godforsaken place like Tibet to see her, Liu Jing felt somewhat annoyed.

At the entrance of the residential area, a car was already waiting by the roadside. Guo Jun was in the driver's seat, Guo Guo was alone in the back, and there was another person he didn't recognize in the passenger seat. Liu Jing nodded, Guo Guo opened the car door, and he got in and sat in the back.

"Hello, brother," Liu Jing greeted, turning his gaze to the man in the passenger seat.

"Let me introduce you," Guo Jun stepped aside. "Little Liu, this is my childhood friend, Lin Weidong, deputy director of the Party Office of Dongdian Group. You can call him brother. Weidong, this is Yangyang's college classmate, Liu Jing."

"Oh, I've heard of him. He was injured saving Yangyang during his internship, right?" Lin Weidong looked him over and smiled.

"Yes, that's him."

"Hello, nice to meet you. Please call me Weidong from now on," Lin Weidong warmly and politely extended his right hand.

Liu Jing and Guo Guo exchanged a glance, then shook hands, saying, "Hello, Brother Lin, you're too kind." Lin Weidong was mature and gentle, giving off a warm and welcoming aura. Although it was their first meeting, Liu Jing had a very good impression of him.

After exchanging pleasantries, Guo Jun explained, "Yangyang was looking for me yesterday, and I was having dinner with Weidong. He happens to be going to Shanghai today, so I thought I'd give you a ride."

Liu Jing smiled and nodded, and the car set off.

As Guo Jun drove, he said, "Little Liu, it's not that I'm being nosy, but what's going on between you and Yangyang's classmate? Why are you always causing trouble? Why are you going to Tibet instead of enjoying your good life?"

"Brother, what nonsense are you talking about? I just asked you for a favor!" Guo Guo complained.

"I didn't say I wouldn't help. Can't I even ask?" Guo Jun smiled and glanced at his sister.

Liu Jing said, "Brother, don't take offense. Qiu Yang's mother is Tibetan, and he grew up in Tibet, so he's a bit straightforward. Actually, he's a very good person."

"Hehe, don't take it personally. With Yang Yang around, how could I dare to take offense?" Guo Jun chuckled, then turned his head again, "But I also have to say a few words to you. No matter where he's from or what ethnicity he is, he should at least live a decent life, right? You're both still young and don't understand society very well. These days, personal connections are a resource; you'll have one less to ask for each time. When you find him, be sure to persuade him properly and stop him from acting recklessly! I heard from Yang Yang that his girlfriend is pregnant. How can this be allowed?"

Liu Jing and Guo Jun didn't speak, but exchanged glances, both noticing the helplessness in each other's eyes.

Lin Weidong looked back and said jokingly, "Junzi, Yang Yang and his girlfriend are classmates, it's only right that he helps them. You're the older brother, you're not incapable, so just say less."

Guo Jun glanced at him, sighed, and didn't say anything more. Guo Jun was upright, and not unkind, but coming from an official family and having spent so many years in the bureaucracy, he had developed a habit of avoiding trouble far too early.

The road from the city to the airport wasn't too far, and the group chatted idly along the way, enjoying the drifting white clouds and breathing in the fragrance of rice paddies on either side, arriving quickly.

After checking in, they sat for a while. Lin Weidong's flight was early, so he had to leave first. Before leaving, he extended his right hand to Liu Jing again: "Brother, I have to go first. The climate in Tibet is harsh, and you're unfamiliar with the area. Yangyang is like a sister to me, so please take good care of her. We'll have a good drink sometime in the future."

Before Liu Jing could speak, Guo Jun laughed and said, "Weidong, you've miscalculated this time. Little Liu can't drink; he can't keep up with you, a seasoned alcohol connoisseur!" After graduation, Guo Guo and Liu Jing had a farewell dinner at Guo Guo's house with some classmates from Harbin who were transferring trains in S City. Liu Jing got drunk there, hence his comment.

"Hehe, you can't make friends if you can't drink!" Lin Weidong shook hands with Liu Jing and then pulled out a business card. "Brother, I heard you're in sales. This is my business card. If you need any help, just let me know. Don't be shy."

"Thank you, Brother Lin, I will," Liu Jing said with a smile.

The two exchanged pleasantries and said goodbye. Guo Guo stood to the side, blushing and looking down nervously, whether from shyness or flustered, it was hard to tell. Lin Weidong stepped forward generously: "What's wrong, Yangyang? Brother Lin is leaving, aren't you going to say goodbye?"

Guo Guo adjusted his glasses, looked up, and said, "Take care, Brother Lin. When you come back, I'll interview you and do a feature on you!"

"Sure, no problem, I'll be in the newspaper too, all for the sake of being a 'romantic figure'," Lin Weidong replied cheerfully. The three men smiled at each other.

Guo Guo was in charge of a column called "Counting Outstanding Figures," which featured an interview every week with people who had made outstanding contributions in various fields. Liu Jing once joked that it was fortunate it was one article a week; if it were one a day, in a few years even street sweepers and scavengers would be "romantic figures."

After Lin Weidong left, Guo Jun gave a few instructions and also left. The two sat down again, and Liu Jing said, "Guo Guo, this Brother Lin is a good guy. He's so young and he's already the director of the Party Office at Dongdian University. That's impressive. What's his family background?"

Guo Guo glanced at him, seemingly a little indignant, "What do you mean? Does he have to have a background? Let me tell you, Brother Lin is indeed very capable, even more capable than my brother!"

Liu Jing tilted his head and asked casually, "Then tell me, what does his father do?"

Guo Guo pouted and said helplessly, "The director of the tax bureau."

"That's settled then." Liu Jing didn't say anything more. After being detained at the police station, he secretly told himself to be careful when talking to Guo Guo and not to criticize him too much, although sometimes he still couldn't help but revert to his old ways. "

That's prejudice of yours, I'm not talking to you anymore." Guo Guo turned his head to look at the television hanging in the hall.

Liu Jing smiled disdainfully and also turned his gaze to it. The television was showing the new version of "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils," specifically the climax of Qiao Feng's battle at Juxian Manor, a very exciting scene, and both of them were captivated.

After watching for a while, Guo Guo asked, "Liu Jing, do you like Qiao Feng?"

"So-so." Liu Jing replied indifferently. Guo Guo looked at him strangely and asked, "What do you mean by 'okay'? Many people like him, even Jin Yong himself said he liked him, and I like him too."

Chapter 46: I'll Bully You for a Lifetime

Liu Jing laughed, "He said he likes Qiao Feng, but he likes Duan Yu even more. It's said that Duan Yu has many different personalities."

"Who do you like?"

"Well, I like Duan Yu more."

"Why?"

Liu Jing turned to face her and said seriously, "You like Qiao Feng, mainly because he's a hero with overwhelming power, upright and gentle, seemingly perfect, and a very satisfying image, right?"

"Yes." Guo Guo nodded.

Liu Jing continued, "But have you thought about it? These aren't the most important things. The main thing is that his martial arts are unparalleled; even if everyone joined forces, they couldn't beat him alone. That's the key. Think about it, if his martial arts were weak, even if he were upright and strong, he would be beaten to a pulp if he went up against you. Would you still like him?"

Guo Guo didn't speak, but the light in her eyes showed hesitation.

"Let me give you another example," Liu Jing adjusted his posture and looked at her. "Last time we were arrested and taken to the police station, your mother intervened, and the bathhouse immediately closed down. The bad cops got their comeuppance, the drivers were overjoyed, and we were very happy too. I don't need to explain why, right? You just said I was biased, really? I don't deny that your older brother and Brother Lin are both young and promising, very capable, if not outstanding, but if your father wasn't the vice governor, and Brother Lin's father wasn't the tax bureau chief, even if they were powerful, could they be truly outstanding?

"So, being outstanding is a kind of strength, not a person's character. Qiao Feng had high martial arts skills and strength, so he was outstanding; for ordinary people, without unparalleled martial arts skills or a powerful background, they can only choose the most appropriate way of life and seek the best outcome. Fundamentally, everyone acts according to their abilities. I don't think he's stronger in any way, so why should I like him?"

Guo Guo stared in disbelief, then stubbornly insisted, "Qiao Feng is upright and honest, isn't he?" "

What a joke!" Liu Jing sat back down, scoffing. "Guo Jing is not only honest, but also simple-minded. Even that bastard in *The Smiling, Proud Wanderer* is honest. Why don't you like them, but prefer Qiao Feng? Isn't it because Qiao Feng embodies strength!"

Guo Guo was speechless, turning away. "I'm not talking to you anymore, your logic is all twisted." Liu Jing sighed. "I'm not arguing, I'm just thinking about Qiu Yang."

"Qiu Yang! What about Qiu Yang?" Guo Guo turned back.

Liu Jing shook his head. "If we're talking about being upright and indomitable, Qiu Yang's character is truly upright, like Qu Yuan. But look at what he became! Even you and I only admire him, we've never liked him. These days, being upright and indomitable, to put it bluntly, means having power is awesome, not having power is just showing off. That's the difference." "Qiu Yang knowingly did the impossible, that's true integrity, standing tall and upright. Your Qiao Feng is far inferior."

Guo Guo was speechless, somewhat embarrassed and ashamed.

"Alright, stop arguing, let's go." Liu Jing stood up, slung his things over his shoulder,

"Who's arguing? We were just discussing a TV series, and you took it all out of context, talking a whole bunch of stuff, as if I did something wrong!" Guo Guo stood up as well, blushing and aggrieved.

"Haha, sorry, it's a habit!" Liu Jing laughed, grabbed her hand, and surged into the crowd. The passenger plane roared loudly, gliding into the sky, their journey to find someone in Tibet officially began. The plane leveled off, Liu Jing unbuckled his seatbelt, only to see Guo Guo staring blankly at the clouds and sky outside the window, seemingly lost in thought.

Liu Jing nudged her: "Hey, what are you thinking about?"

"Oh, nothing." Guo Guo snapped out of her reverie and smoothed her short hair.

Liu Jing added, "Hurry up and unbuckle your seatbelt. We're flying all day. Don't get exhausted before we even find our destination."

"Okay." Guo Guo glanced at him deeply, then lowered her head and smiled secretly.

A surge of tenderness welled up in her heart once more. For a long time, she had been silently collecting the subtle hints of affection her beloved had unintentionally revealed in this seemingly critical yet lecturing concern, carefully tucking them away and treasuring them. With the return from their trip to Tibet, this beautiful dream of love was about to come true. She suddenly felt that everything had come so quickly, so quickly that, despite her joy, she was completely unprepared.

Liu Jing, having settled into a comfortable position, asked, "What were you thinking about just now?"

Guo Guo hesitated for a moment, then turned to face him: "I was thinking about you. I think you and Qiu Yang are very similar."

"I'm similar to Qiu Yang? Are you kidding me?" Liu Jing asked, puzzled, his tone rather indignant.

"You are similar." "Guo Guo stared at him stubbornly, and said very seriously, "You both stick to your own pursuits. Qiu Yang pursues a selfless and peaceful society, and your pursuit is love. Am I wrong?"

"That's so similar." Liu Jing suddenly realized, and emphasized, "But we are fundamentally different. Qiu Yang is an outlier; his pursuit is very vague. I am an ordinary person, and my pursuit is within the normal range. We can't be compared."

Guo Guo turned around, lowered her head, and remained silent for a while before looking straight at him and saying, "Liu Jing, Qi Yu called me the day before yesterday and said she's getting married on May Day."

"Really?" Liu Jing turned back. "When she calls again, please give her my regards." He then shrank back into his chair.

Guo Guo was very dissatisfied with his attitude and said coldly, "You really don't like her? Aren't you sad at all?"

Liu Jing sighed and replied, "I wouldn't say sad, but I'm a little emotional. Didn't I tell you? I didn't really like her back then, but I had a strong feeling for her. Then, just as I started to like her, she broke up with me." Guo

Guo remained silent, his face tense, lost in thought. Liu Jing glanced at him, then asked curiously, "Guo Guo, why are you bringing her up again?"

"Because I know why she broke up with you," Guo Guo said, staring into his eyes.

"Why?" Liu Jing sat up and asked. He didn't necessarily need to know why Qi Yu broke up with him, but to say he didn't care would be a lie. At the time, Qi Yu simply said that the two of them weren't compatible—their diet, language, and lifestyle were all incompatible—and that was the reason she broke up with him. What kind of reason was that? He would be a fool to believe it!

Guo Guo rolled her eyes at him: "Think about it, what did you say to her before the breakup?"

"What did I say to her? I didn't say anything!" Liu Jing frowned, recalling the situation. He remembered clearly that the two of them had watched the movie "Pretty Woman," and he had been talking at length, saying it was a comedic version of "La Dame aux Camélias," and that he wanted to create a perfect version. But on the way back to school, Qi Yu suddenly broke up with him, as if in a dream.

Liu Jing seemed to grasp something, his eyes becoming serious: "Tell me, now I want to know." Guo

Guo looked around and whispered, "Because her hymen is gone."

"What do you mean it's gone?" Liu Jing thought to herself, a sudden realization dawning on her.

Guo Guo leaned closer to him: "Because she used to study ballet, and she disappeared a long time ago. And you were so serious about it, she was afraid you wouldn't believe her, and that it would affect your happiness, so she cruelly broke up with you."

Liu Jing froze, his heart empty, as if shrouded in a sense of guilt, as if a pair of eyes were watching him with resentment. He never imagined that this could hurt someone. He had always regretted his first love, but rarely cared about that person. But at this moment, his long-held belief in pursuing her was suddenly mocked, vanishing like an iceberg melting away. He felt ashamed, but also relieved, because he understood that the two of them were incompatible.

"Why did you tell me this?" Liu Jing asked expressionlessly.

"Because you annoy me," Guo Guo glared at him with an unusual expression.

Liu Jing couldn't decipher her expression and leaned back in his chair. "Guo Guo, I feel uncomfortable about breaking up like this, and I feel sorry for her, but I still have to say, it's not my fault. It's just that we weren't meant to be, our feelings weren't strong enough, or maybe our personalities just didn't match. It's that simple."

"That's selfish of you!" Guo Guo persisted.

"I'm just stating the facts," Liu Jing sighed calmly. "If what you're saying is true, think about it, how big of a deal is a breakup? She acted so decisively, don't you find it unbelievable? Could you have done it? It's not that she was wrong, but I can't speak for others, but I definitely couldn't. So, we're simply not compatible. To tell you the truth, although I'm sad, I feel relieved. We weren't deeply in love, so this breakup is for the best."

Guo Guo stared at him blankly, seemingly reluctant or something else: "Qi Yu is really silly. I know you don't really care."

Saying this made Guo Guo feel much lighter, as if a burden had been lifted. When she first learned of their breakup, out of selfishness, she held back from telling Qi Yu, and felt guilty ever since. She had mentioned Qi Yu to Liu Jing more than once, but never brought up his phone number, and always felt uneasy. Before that, becoming friends with Qi Yu was entirely her own initiative, and she always felt guilty about it.

"Really? You seem to know me quite well." Liu Jing looked her over, nodded slightly, surprised by her judgment. He couldn't say he truly cared, but that was part of his ideal.

Guo Guo turned away, lost in thought.

Liu Jing nudged her: "Never mind, let's not talk about her, let's talk about you."

"Talk about me what?" Guo Guo asked, her eyes sparkling.

“Of course, it’s about when you get married.”

Guo Guo adjusted her glasses, beaming. “Soon, in just a few days.”

“Really?” Liu Jing wasn’t surprised or delighted, just puzzled. “How did you know? You can even predict something like this?”

“Yeah, I can.” Guo Guo nodded, her smile like a flower blooming in the morning sun.

“Oh.” Liu Jing didn’t ask any more questions and slumped back into his chair.

Guo Guo’s smile widened as she leaned closer to him. “I’ll be getting a boyfriend soon, aren’t you happy?”

“It’s not that I’m unhappy.” Liu Jing looked at her face so close to his. “It’s just… now that you have a boyfriend, I’ll have to be more careful around you. Yeah, to be honest, without you to tease me, it feels like something’s missing.”

“Serves you right!” Guo Guo shook her head, proudly craning her neck.

“Look at you, so vain, is it really necessary?” Liu Jing said, glancing sideways, feeling rather awkward.

“Hehe!” Guo Guo, carried away by her pride, couldn’t help but laugh out loud. "Silly girl, I'm talking about you! You like to be bullied, so I'll let you bully me for the rest of my life!" The two made a brief stop at the Capital Airport before heading west to Tibet. The next day was May Day, and most of the passengers were tourists, all beaming with enthusiasm and excitement. Modern life is becoming increasingly urbanized, and travel has become a fashion, representing a taste and pursuit of life, not just leisure.

Seemingly infected by the atmosphere around her, Guo Guo became unusually excited, grabbing his sleeve and saying, "Liu Jing, it's rare for you to come all this way. If you find Qiu Yang smoothly, how about we spend a couple of days together?"

"We'll see," Liu Jing looked at her gently. "I haven't been home since the Spring Festival, and I still have to go back. If we really have time, we'll spend a couple of days together." His mother was eager to see the photos, and he also missed home, but Guo Guo was so happy, he couldn't refuse.

Perhaps it was the change in mood, or perhaps it was the rare sight of Liu Jing's gentleness, but Guo Guo was almost mesmerized, her words tumbling out incoherently: "Um, Liu Jing, isn't your hometown also a tourist area? I... I've never been there! How about... how about I go home with you, and you take me to your place for a couple of days?"

"Okay." Liu Jing hesitated slightly before readily agreeing. Everyone is proud of their hometown, and he was no exception. However, taking Guo Guo home would surely cause his mother to misunderstand, but that wouldn't be a big deal; he could simply call and explain first.

"Then it's settled. Once I find Qiuyang, I'll go home with you, hehe." Guo Guo's eyes lit up, her mouth agape. She felt it was proper etiquette to visit before her parents invited her to dinner, the etiquette of a daughter-in-law.

"Okay, hehe." Liu Jing sat at his seat, looking at her, and inexplicably became reserved. He felt Guo Guo was acting a bit strangely; she was about to get married, and this was just a trip home, yet she was so nervous. This feeling was familiar to him; he had had a similar feeling at the beginning of their relationship. Back then, he thought Guo Guo was interested in him, but Guo Guo remained unchanged for years, and he had long since stopped caring.

The two of them held similar feelings, but with different emotions.

As evening approached, a commotion arose in the cabin. The plane had entered the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau; beneath their feet lay the most sublime land on Earth. Liu Jing and Guo Guo hurriedly squeezed to the window, heads close together, excitedly peering out.

A powerful aura rushed towards them, and both of them gasped in astonishment.

In the distance, the mountains stretched endlessly, towering and reaching into the clouds. The snow on the mountains radiated a mysterious and sacred light, seemingly forever unapproachable, and untouchable. Around the mountains, clouds swirled and swirled, serene yet resolute. A profound silence enveloped the world, vast and majestic, as if carried by the wind to the ends of the earth, yet leaving no trace.

The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was originally seabed, formed by tectonic plate compression, resulting in vastly different terrains and towering, precipitous mountains. Unlike anywhere else on Earth, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau's grandeur lies not only in its imposing height but also in its profound historical significance. You can never imagine that this awe-inspiring summit was once a vast, surging ocean.

A brief silence fell over the cabin; everyone held their breath, unconsciously merging into the eternal stillness before them. Thoughts drifted into the distance, and the soul felt ethereal from the profound impact. Liu Jing's brow furrowed, but his mind was clear.

A familiar song drifted from afar—

who was flapping the wings of a divine eagle?

The clouds of his hometown smiled,

and the mulberry flowers bloomed as scheduled.

The lights of the Potala Palace shone brightly;

he stood guard on the golden summit,

ready to fly with outstretched arms.

The sky was still so blue,

the land still so vast,

you were still so beautiful,

and I was still so true.

Liu Jing suddenly understood the familiar song, but felt it wasn't enough, neither for the scene before him nor for the feelings within. The grandeur of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was too vast and profound; words seemed too shallow and pale. Perhaps no language in the world could truly describe it.

Two hours later, the plane landed at Lhasa Gonggar Airport. The two stepped onto this magical land, the biting wind making them feel chilly. Liu Jing deliberately took a few deep breaths, not feeling any lack of oxygen. The dreaded altitude sickness, at least for this initial moment, hadn't yet shown its power. Guo Guo was both excited and nervous, her little face tense, her breath coming in cold air, constantly looking around; Liu Jing held her little hand, walking quickly. It was too cold here; although they had brought thick clothes, they hadn't had time to change.

After passing through security, Guo Guo took out her phone, ready to make a call. Before she could even turn it on, a voice came from ahead: "Little Panda, stop calling, I'm right here!"

The two looked in the direction of the voice, and Guo Guo exclaimed happily, "Brother Panda!" (ps: Panda, another panda!)

A young man wearing large black glasses, with a gentle appearance, walked over with a smile: "Oh my, Little Panda, it's been years! You've grown into a beautiful young lady, I almost didn't recognize you!"

"Brother Panda is even more handsome than before!" Guo Guo quickly glanced at the person beside her and said the compliment affectionately. The "Brother Panda" let out a hearty, yet elegant laugh.

The two addressed each other as "Panda this," and Liu Jing, looking at their glasses, seemed to understand something.

"This must be Brother Liu, hello." The man extended his right hand to Liu Jing, smiling, and said, "My name is Zhang Xingqi. I grew up with these two siblings, we've known each other since childhood. See our glasses? She's the little panda, and I'm the big panda, we're a pair of national treasures, haha!"

"Hello, Brother Zhang, thank you for your help." Liu Jing shook hands politely. He had always had a negative impression of the princelings, believing them to be guys who relied on their parents, spent their days running companies, engaging in corruption, driving luxury cars, and seducing women. But meeting Lin Weidong and Zhang Xingqi today greatly changed his opinion; at least, the saying "birds of a feather flock together" was absolutely true.

Guo Guo rolled her eyes at him and introduced, "Brother Panda is an aid-to-Tibet cadre, his position is deputy director of the General Office. Hmm, Brother Panda comes from a military family, and Uncle Zhang is the commander of the provincial military region; he used to be my dad's superior!"

Liu Jing smiled wryly to himself. Women really were calculating; he'd only mentioned it casually this morning, and Guo Guo had already told him everything about their positions and backgrounds.

Chapter Forty-Seven

Zhang Xingqi chuckled, “It’s a pity that like father, like son; it doesn’t work out with me. Your brother is getting more and more successful, rising higher and higher in rank. I’ve been exiled to Tibet, and he’s still yelling at me!”

“Who says that? Brother Panda is just trying to help me! Besides, you’ll definitely be more powerful than my brother when you go back!”

“Haha, then I’ll take your good wishes!” Zhang Xingqi generously took the things from Liu Jing’s hands. “Let’s go, let’s go into the city.”

The night in Tibet was shrouded in mystery. Snow-capped peaks gleamed in the distant darkness, seemingly unreachable yet also close at hand. Scattered around were Tibetan houses, and the silhouettes of yaks undulated in the courtyards. Zhang Xingqi drove, speeding along the national highway, the car cutting through the fierce, cold wind, carrying them towards Lhasa.

Liu Jing, worried about Lu Qiuyang, asked as soon as she got in the car, "Brother Zhang, any news about our classmate?"

"Yes, he got off the plane this morning and went to Linzhi. He said he's staying in a small lama temple, probably the uncle you mentioned. It's too late today, I'll take you there tomorrow morning."

"Thank you so much!" Liu Jing felt relieved and excitedly looked at Guo Guo, now all that was left was figuring out how to convince him. Guo Guo was equally happy, but with more complicated feelings. Lu Qiuyang had been found, and she could go home with Liu Jing sooner.

"Hehe, you're welcome, it's nothing."

The three chatted and laughed, enjoying the scenery along the way as Zhang Xingqi introduced them, and entered Lhasa.

Because it was night, they couldn't experience the city's bright sunshine, but the scenery still captivated and amazed them. Lhasa's lights were soft and spotless, exuding peace everywhere, and the streets felt exceptionally welcoming. People walked the streets, their expressions relaxed and at ease. Rickshaws were everywhere, drivers whistling, their brass bells jingling. Lamas, their faces flushed by the glow of their robes and the lamplight, radiated warm, sunny smiles.

Tibet was mysterious, but the people of Lhasa were peaceful and ancient, like a fairytale-like ancient town in Jiangnan. Lu Qiuyang's ideal was to pursue a clean world, and Liu Jing suddenly understood him. He wouldn't dare say Lhasa was a clean world, but this tranquil, ordinary happiness warmed his heart, as if he had cast aside the hustle and bustle of the world and entered a secluded paradise.

Zhang Xingqi drove the two to the Lhasa Post Office Hotel and led them directly to the lobby for dinner.

After the three sat down, Zhang Xingqi said apologetically, "Lhasa doesn't have many high-end hotels. The Post Office Hotel is one of the best. Please don't mind." He addressed them as "the two," but his words were directed at Liu Jing.

Liu Jing said, "Brother Zhang, you're too kind. I'm already very grateful for your trouble."

"Hehe, that's good. Come on, try some Tibetan specialties."

The specialties were served one after another, but Liu Jing had no appetite because of Guo Guo. She ate very little and very slowly, sometimes frowning, sometimes biting her lip, as if enduring some pain; it certainly wasn't because of the food.

Considering that Guo Guo had said she wasn't feeling well yesterday, and now she seemed like this, perhaps she was sick. Liu Jing and Zhang Xingqi exchanged glances and asked, "Guo Guo, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"Nothing, maybe just a little tired," Guo Guo forced a smile.

Zhang Xingqi was prepared and took out two pills: "Don't worry, this is normal. It's probably from a day on the plane, plus altitude sickness, and the unfamiliar climate. Take these pills, get a good night's sleep, and I guarantee you'll be fine tomorrow."

Liu Jing took the pills with some skepticism. He didn't have altitude sickness, and he believed Guo Guo probably didn't either.

The meal was quickly concluded. Zhang Xingqi gave some instructions and then left. Whether Guo Jun hadn't explained things clearly or this "Panda Brother" was simply too careless, only one apartment was arranged. The two were somewhat embarrassed, but neither dared to say anything directly.

After Zhang Xingqi left, Liu Jing helped Guo Guo into the room: "You should rest first. I'll go get another room later."

Guo Guo didn't speak, clutching her stomach and painfully leaning against the bed.

"Don't just lean there, lie down!" Liu Jing directly pulled her shoes off.

Guo Guo was both touched and embarrassed: "I'm fine, you go get a room, I'm going to sleep soon."

"Don't rush, take your medicine first." Liu Jing poured a glass of water and handed her the medicine.

Guo Guo blushed, hesitant to speak: "I don't need this, I have my own medicine. Give me your handbag."

"What's wrong with you?" Liu Jing asked in surprise.

Guo Guo lowered her head and remained silent. Liu Jing was suspicious. He put down what he was holding, picked up his handbag, and was about to get her the medicine.

"Hey, I can do it myself!" Guo Guo shouted.

Liu Jing was taken aback, but had already opened it. The most conspicuous item inside was a pack of sanitary napkins, and a small bottle of medicine in the corner. Oh dear! So this girl had her period, that's why she was uncomfortable. He smiled awkwardly and sat back on the bed: "Guo Guo, what's there to be ashamed of? It's normal."

"You're so annoying!" Guo Guo pouted, her face flushed, and her eyes darted around.

"Alright, take your medicine." Liu Jing handed her the water glass and medicine. "Is your medicine working? I heard that hot milk with honey is quite effective. I'll go get a hotel room now and buy you some while I'm at it?"

Guo Guo rolled her eyes: "You know... quite a lot?"

"Of course." Liu Jing, thick-skinned, chuckled and walked out. He had inadvertently come across related knowledge while researching certain theories, so he knew a little about it.

Guo Guo stared at him, her heart pounding. Seeing him about to leave, she mustered her courage and called out, "Liu Jing."

Liu Jing released the doorknob and turned around, asking, "Anything else?"

Guo Guo's face flushed red, her large eyes darting around behind her glasses. "Liu Jing, you're... quite considerate. Anyway... you already know, so... why don't you stay here tonight... and take care of me?"

Liu Jing said, "You mean, I don't need to book a room, I can just stay with you?"

"You're so annoying! I didn't say that!" Guo Guo was incredibly embarrassed and grabbed the blanket to cover herself. Her stomachache had subsided.

"Is there a difference?" Liu Jing chuckled, then said with displeasure, "You only realize how considerate I am now? That year when we climbed Mount Hua, you fell flat on your face, and I took care of you for two whole nights."

"Don't say that!" Guo Guo's voice came from under the blanket.

"Fine, anyway, nothing good ever comes of being with you." Liu Jing opened the door and left, looking quite indignant. He didn't need to book a room; he could just make a phone call to get the things, but considering the hotel's delivery speed, he decided to go anyway.

Guo Guo slowly emerged from under the blanket, her face flushed: "Silly boy, you've taken care of me like this, isn't that a good thing?"
