My Policewoman Lover [Complete] - 27

Chapter 186 The Male and Female Thieves

Liu Jing sped to the repair shop and went straight into the office.

For Xu Yan's convenience, the office had been renovated, complete with floor tiles, a bathroom, and simple cabinets. A false wall had been built with bricks, enclosing the bed inside, creating an atmosphere resembling a cozy little home.

Xu Yan was typing something on the computer when she saw him and asked curiously, "Why are you here again?" Liu Jing had just left at noon, so it was only a short while, hence her question.

"I need to talk to you." Liu Jing closed the door and pulled up a chair to sit next to Xu Yan.

Liu Jing's tone was very formal. Xu Yan was taken aback, then turned to face him and asked, "What is it?"

Liu Jing paused briefly, staring into her eyes seriously, and asked, "Xu Yan, tell me the truth. If you tell me the password to the big iron gate at Lu Yitong, can I steal the things by myself?"

"No." Xu Yan said decisively. She knew Liu Jing was considering security, but her answer was very straightforward.

Liu Jing stared at her for a moment, then asked suspiciously, "Does that software really have an automatic deletion function?" Xu Yan had said that Lu Yitong's accounting software would automatically delete data in case of an error, something common in movies, but too far-fetched in reality.

"I haven't seen it, but I think it probably does," Xu Yan paused and then said, "Even if it doesn't, you can't steal it, because Lu Yitong is the company's vice president. He doesn't use pure accounting software; it's comprehensive management software. Not only would a layman in finance not understand it, but someone who hasn't studied it simply wouldn't know how to operate it."

"You haven't seen it either, have you?" Liu Jing retorted.

Xu Yan smiled and said smugly, "I studied a lot of software in college. Even if I haven't seen it before, I can understand the basics. You can't."

Liu Jing didn't press the matter further and asked, "The bald guy has been monitoring me, so he must be on guard. Could they have deleted the software or anything inappropriate beforehand?"

"Of course not," Xu Yan replied with a smile. "Modern corporate management relies on computers and networks. Not only finance and production, but also subsidiaries and offices in various locations, as well as market information, are all transmitted in real time. If they deleted it, we would be unable to move an inch. Besides, if they really deleted it, would they still need to monitor you?"

Liu Jing understood all of this, but he just wanted to confirm it. He nodded and said, "Okay. Let's go steal something tonight."

"Great! We can go on an adventure together again!" Xu Yan pulled her chair forward and said happily.

"It's not that bad," Liu Jing said with a wry smile. "I've already planned an escape route, so I should be able to ensure our safety." Liu Jing stopped and looked Xu Yan up and down. “As long as you’re as brave as you were in Thailand, there won’t be any problems.”

“With you here, I’m not afraid of anything.” Xu Yan’s pretty face shone, and she said with a playful smile.

Having made their decision, Liu Jing chatted with Xu Yan at the repair shop. Honestly, Xu Yan had already left and had nothing to do with this matter; he really didn’t want to get involved, especially since it involved taking a risk. He initially only wanted to ask for the password. But now he had no choice, thankfully his escape route should be fine.

At 5:30 PM, Liu Jing arranged a time with Xu Yan to attend a company dinner. He didn’t tell Yu Xia and Little Tiger the truth, only saying it was a company dinner and he wouldn’t be going home for dinner, because he didn’t want the two women to worry.

The dinner was in the lobby of the Qinglin Hotel. Everyone from Dongxing Company except the workers attended, and most of the Ideal Group headquarters also participated, totaling over four hundred people. The hotel was noisy, and everyone was enthusiastic. The run on the bank wasn’t just tense for Zhao Tonghai’s group; since it concerned their livelihoods, everyone was tense. Now that it was finally over, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. As

Liu Jing entered, the noise gradually subsided. Zhao Tonghai and Li Xiang remained expressionless, while Zhang Jianguang and Lu Yitong glared at him resentfully. Secretary Lin and Deng Jihong sighed inwardly, and only Bai Ge and Li Desheng offered smiles. Hundreds of other eyes stared at him, the "accuser," with contempt and anger. Many whispered amongst themselves, saying things like, "How dare he show his face here?" and calling him a "whistleblower" and "Chairman Qiu's lackey," making his newly recruited subordinates, such as Zhang Xiaomei, feel ashamed.

Liu Jing understood and sympathized with everyone's feelings. If they hadn't weathered the run on the bank, Ideal Group would have inevitably collapsed, Dongxing would have suffered huge losses, and not only would everyone at Ideal Group be unemployed, but Dongxing's personnel and welfare would also be severely affected. It was normal for everyone to hate him. However, while he understood, he still had to continue, such as the upcoming theft, which was in his own best interest, as well as in the interests of the country and the people, and was morally justifiable.

The banquet began, and Zhao Tonghai and Li Xiang delivered enthusiastic speeches, thanking the working group for their "thorough investigation" and "efficiency and fairness," and saying things like "the innocent are innocent" and "justice resides in the hearts of the people." Zhao Tonghai even hypocritically defended Liu Jing, saying he was "just exercising his rights as a Party member for the company," and called on everyone to "pay attention to unity" and "not have prejudices." These words, of course, had no effect. Liu Jing, his face neither red nor white, shamelessly clapped along with everyone else.

After General Manager Zhao finished his first toast, the free eating and drinking began. Liu Jing patiently sat for over an hour, drinking several half-full glasses of beer with his subordinates, then, claiming he couldn't hold his liquor, "slunk away" first amidst the scornful glances of the room. The bald man was extremely excited, and Zhao Tonghai nodded imperceptibly. This guy

then quietly led the security department's thugs out of the room. It was just getting dark, the moon was bright, a gentle breeze was blowing, and the streets were full of people strolling and shopping, the summer evening scene brimming with life. Suppressing his excitement, Liu Jing drove quickly towards the company, using the moonlight and streetlights as he approached.

As they drew nearer, the massive airship became clearly visible in the night sky. Liu Jing smiled smugly and turned the car onto a side path leading to the company. Xu Yan was already there. Seeing him, she waved enthusiastically, her white dress shimmering brightly in the night.

"You haven't had too much to drink, have you?" Xu Yan asked teasingly, glancing at him.

"Of course not," Liu Jing smiled, taking her hand. "Come on, let's go in."

Xu Yan glanced at him sideways, then lowered her head shyly, the neon lights along the road reflecting on her healthy, pretty face.

Although there was a company dinner, security would be on duty. Liu Jing didn't use the main entrance, but instead led Xu Yan in a large circle, entering through the back of the factory area. The company building was completely dark, except for the guard room, where the lights were on. The two figures, pressed against the wall, gradually drew closer.

The moon shone overhead, and a cool summer breeze blew. Liu Jing, his heart pounding, looked anxiously at the person beside him. Xu Yan's eyes were wide, her pretty face tense, her expression excited, barely breathing, as if waiting for a grand spectacle to unfold.

They were just around the corner when they reached the building's facade. Liu Jing stopped.

"Why aren't we going?" Xu Yan asked innocently, sounding quite anxious.

Liu Jing looked into her eyes and said, "We're about to go in. Are you scared?"

Xu Yan looked deeply into his eyes, smiled slightly, and shook her head. Her bright eyes and white teeth revealed a simple yet resolute devotion. The evening breeze stirred her long eyelashes, but couldn't ripple her unwavering gaze.

Looking into Xu Yan's bright eyes, Liu Jing felt a surge of emotion and shame. Knowing the girl's feelings, he had still brought her into this danger; he felt it was truly selfish.

Liu Jing didn't say much, just nodded and said, "Let's go then."

"Wait!" Xu Yan brushed her hair aside and suddenly grabbed him.

"What is it?" Liu Jing turned around.

Xu Yan grinned, a little embarrassed, a little forlorn, and a little resentful: "You still haven't treated me to that meal you owe me? After this, you have to treat me to two!"

Liu Jing was both amused and exasperated: "

Okay, two meals it is." Xu Yan was satisfied, gave him a gentle, reproachful look, and the two continued walking. After taking only a few steps, Xu Yan suddenly remembered something and hurriedly said, "Oh, right, when you treat me to a meal, you have to..."

"It has to be just the two of us, no one else," Liu Jing interrupted irritably.

Xu Yan smiled sweetly and didn't say anything more.

The building was brightly lit, with colorful flags fluttering on both sides. Liu Jing looked up at the hydrogen boat in the sky, then pulled Xu Yan inside, feeling like thieves. The corridor was deserted and silent, thankfully the lights were on. The two crouched low and made their way up to the fourth floor, where the finance department was located, quite easily.

They stopped in front of the large iron door of Lu Yitong's office. Xu Yan winked smugly, quickly dialed a bunch of numbers, and then gestured for Liu Jing to enter. Liu Jing looked at her with some skepticism, then gently grasped the doorknob.

"Click!" The door opened. Even though he already knew Xu Yan's abilities, Liu Jing was still speechless. The password had been fifteen digits long, and Xu Yan had actually memorized it—that was amazing!

"How about that?" Xu Yan asked smugly.

"Impressive, really impressive!" Liu Jing exclaimed sincerely.

"Then hurry up!" Xu Yan smiled slyly and swaggered inside.

So cocky even as a thief! Liu Jing chuckled, then followed, locking the door from the inside.

Outside, in a shadowy shadow, a bald bodyguard led his men, watching Liu Jing and Xu Yan enter the building, before leisurely leading them towards the entrance.

"Brother Biao, something's wrong!" the bald man's walkie-talkie suddenly crackled to life; it was a security guard lurking inside.

"What is it?" the bald man asked impatiently.

"They...they got into Boss Lu's workspace!"

"What! How is that possible?" the bald man exclaimed in shock. He had assumed Liu Jing was merely stealing some harmless documents from the finance department, planning to storm in, catch them red-handed, beat them up, and send them to the police station. He hadn't expected Liu Jing to be able to get through the heavy iron gate.

Sha Zheng Biao stared dumbfounded, speechless for a long moment. One of the men said, "Should we call Boss Lu?"

"That's no use," the bald bodyguard shook his head. "That door is locked from the inside, and even with the password from the outside, we can't get in."

Another man said, "Then let's break down the door and knock them out!"

"Idiot, wouldn't that be giving them a heads-up?" Sha Zheng Biao was furious and cursed. "If they call the police and then hide inside, we're all doomed!"

"Then, what do we do?" The thugs looked at each other, at a loss.

Sha Zheng Biao grinned maliciously, "Don't worry, we'll ambush them and catch them red-handed when they come out!"

"Brother Biao is the best!" The thugs all gave him a thumbs up.

Despite his words, Sha Zheng Biao still called Boss Zhao and the others before rushing in.

Chapter 187 Escape

Route The workshop was quiet, neither dark nor bright, with only moonlight filtering in from the window, casting a layer of white frost on the floor near the window. Liu Jing drew the curtains tightly, hiding the white frost edged with light, blocking out the only source of light in the room.

The two groped their way in the dark, barely breathing, and quietly sat down in front of the computer. Liu Jing fumbled for the power button, the screen flashed, and some light returned to the room.

"What's the login password?" Xu Yan asked, the screen stopping.

"6411208, try it," Liu Jing said.

Xu Yan looked at the computer screen, skillfully typed on the numeric keypad, paused briefly, pressed enter, the screen flipped, and she was logged in. It really was that password; it went smoothly. The two exchanged a smile. Xu Yan asked, "Liu Jing, how did you know?"

"Have you forgotten what I do now?" Liu Jing chuckled and explained, "This is Lu Yitong's office computer password. I stole it beforehand. 'Zhan' is his birth year, 12 is his wife's birth month, and 08 is his child's birthday."

Xu Yan smiled, and the two faced each other in the dark.

The screen flickered a few times, then entered the Windows system. Half the desktop had shortcuts; Xu Yan searched carefully and clicked one. Liu Jing looked closer; it was an unfamiliar English software. After several seconds of data initialization, the software launched, prompting for a password again. Xu Yan turned to him, giving him a questioning look.

Liu Jing said, "Try the same one again."

Xu Yan typed it again, but it didn't work. Liu Jing pondered for a moment, then said, "Try 126408, put his wife's name first." "

After trying and failing, Xu Yan didn't ask again. She directly put Lu Yitong's child at the front, dialed 086412, and this time it worked. Xu Yan glanced at Liu Jing and said disdainfully, 'Children first, yourself second, wife third, that's you men. Humph!'

Liu Jing chuckled, 'He should have just changed it randomly, but you've already made connections?'

'That's exactly right!' Xu Yan scolded him playfully, even giving him a kick. Liu Jing laughed and patted his trouser leg, saying nothing more. In such a tense environment, the two could still joke and banter, which could be considered revolutionary optimism.

The two were busy in the darkness inside the room, while the bald bodyguard and his men lay in ambush in the corridor. Inside and outside the large iron gate, the two sides were tense in different ways.

'How's it going?' Xu Yan asked, fiddling with the software. Liu Jing didn't understand and couldn't help but ask.

Xu Yan frowned and said, 'They just applied to convert 65 million RMB into foreign exchange.

It's transferred to a financial company in S country in Europe. It should be the first payment for the acquisition in Thailand.'

'S country?' Liu Jing asked, puzzled, 'Why S country?'" “

This finance company is under the name of Piruan,” Xu Yan explained. She was the financial representative in the negotiations, and although she hadn’t signed anything, she was fairly clear about the relevant details.

“Isn’t Piruan Vietnamese? How come they’re running a finance company in S country?” Liu Jing asked again.

Xu Yan didn’t answer, her expression serious as she operated the software. In the information age, the world has become a village, and so has business management. Business instructions can be sent to subordinate units and subsidiaries in various locations via the internet, and feedback can be received.

Xu Yan looked at it for a while, then turned around and said, “We monitor all the information of this finance company; it’s very likely that we opened it.”

Even though she had resigned, Xu Yan still habitually referred to herself as “we.” Liu Jing’s heart skipped a beat. He suddenly said, “You mean, this finance company should have been opened by Zhao Tonghai and his group, and then registered under Piruan’s name to get the money?”

“I think so,” Xu Yan nodded firmly, “Otherwise, why would Piruan entrust its finance company to us for management?”

Liu Jing frowned and thought for a moment, still not understanding: “But since the company is under Piruan’s name…”

"That's a shady company. How can they guarantee that shady won't embezzle the money?"

"I don't know." Xu Yan shook her head, equally puzzled.

Now wasn't the time to discuss it. Liu Jing said, "Never mind, pack all the data up, we'll copy it and leave right away. Hey, with this stuff, I don't believe they won't be finished!" He excitedly pulled out a USB drive.

While copying, Liu Jing was dumbfounded. His USB drive was 512MB, but the data was over 1GB. Xu Yan suggested, "Why don't we pack it separately and copy as much as we can?"

Next to the monitor stood a pen holder with a screwdriver inside. Liu Jing glanced at it, then his gaze slowly shifted to Xu Yan's face. Looking into the girl's calm and gentle eyes, Liu Jing regretted it deeply, constantly cursing himself for being an idiot. Why did he bring Xu Yan here on this risk? He could have just taken the computer's hard drive directly!

"What's wrong?" Xu Yan asked curiously.

"Nothing." Liu Jing sighed inwardly, pulled a screwdriver from the pen holder, got up, turned off the power, and removed the computer case.

Darkness returned to the room as Liu Jing groped for the screws. Xu Yan, realizing what was happening, couldn't help but cover her mouth and smile, her bright eyes unusually clear in the darkness. Liu Jing glanced at her and sighed, "Xu Yan, I'm so stupid. If anything had happened today, I'd never forgive myself."

"Nonsense! How could anything have happened?" Xu Yan pouted, a hint of grievance in her voice, and added coquettishly, "With you, I'm not afraid of anything."

Liu Jing didn't say anything, and went to tighten the screws on the other side. Xu Yan suddenly got up and squatted down next to him, warmly snuggling closer. Liu Jing's eardrums were stimulated, and he instinctively flinched: "What are you doing?"

Xu Yan opened her eyes wide in the darkness and looked straight at him: "Liu Jing, if something really happens, I'd rather die with you!"

"Stop talking nonsense!" Liu Jing shuddered and said irritably, "Why bring up death all of a sudden? It's so unlucky!"

Xu Yan smiled and pouted: "You have two wives now, I'd rather be dead!"

Liu Jing smiled bitterly, then said seriously: "Xu Yan, don't think too much. You'll find someone you truly love in the future."

Xu Yan sighed and tilted her head to look out the window, even though she couldn't see anything: "Liu Jing, I'm not lying to you. I don't even want to go home right now. I just want to stay at the repair shop. Only when I'm at the repair shop do I feel like I'm with you."

Liu Jing didn't know what to say, so he could only say: "Don't think too much about it. Things will get better. You're the manager. Once our repair shop officially opens, you'll be busy inside and out, your social circle will expand, you'll meet more people, and you'll definitely meet someone you like."

"I hope so." Xu Yan glanced at his silhouette in the darkness, propped herself up on her thighs, and sighed, "But even if we met, it wouldn't be as thrilling as with you."

A little girl actually liked thrills? Liu Jing was speechless.

"Alright, let's go." Liu Jing took the hard drive off his pants and tucked it in. Xu Yan looked around, reluctantly following him out.

Liu Jing leaned against the door, listening intently for a long time, making sure there was no sound outside, before gently opening it and peeking out. The corridor was as quiet as ever, a string of lights casting a warm glow, like any ordinary night, showing no sign of danger.

"It's okay, come out." Liu Jing waved his hand and slipped out first.

Xu Yan peeked out, her heart pounding. Liu Jing looked back, then gently closed the door. The iron door was too heavy; he was afraid of making a sound, so he hadn't closed it completely.

Liu Jing looked around for a moment, then pulled Xu Yan towards the stairs beside him. The two hadn't walked far when suddenly the door opposite the iron gate swung open, and a figure darted out like lightning, slamming the large iron gate shut with a loud bang.

"Ah!" Xu Yan jumped in fright. Liu Jing was startled and quickly turned around to look. A security guard leaned smugly against the door, followed by a group of people emerging from the central and side staircases, led by none other than the bald bodyguard, Sha Zheng Biao.

"President Zhao was right, he predicted everything. Where do you think you're going this time?" The bald man laughed loudly, leisurely leading his men forward.

"Damn it, we've been tricked! That damned Zhao Tonghai!" With both their escape routes blocked, the adventurous Xu Yan was terrified.

"Run!" Without thinking, Liu Jing grabbed Xu Yan and ran towards the room opposite the large iron gate.

"Where do you think you're going?" The security guard assigned to close the iron gate rushed forward.

Liu Jing didn't dodge or avoid, but pulled out the hard drive from his waist and swung it with all his might. Luckily, he was calm enough not to be thrown away.

"Ah!" The security guard was terrified and quickly dodged. Liu Jing grabbed Xu Yan and rushed into the room, slamming the door shut.

The two groups converged, and the security guard, unable to stop them, looked at the bald man with a terrified expression.

Sha Zheng Biao laughed, "It's alright, it's alright, they can't escape."

The security guard, suddenly energized and eager to redeem himself, declared, "Brother Biao, don't worry, I'll break the door down right away!"

"Don't break it! Don't break it!" Sha Zheng Biao quickly stopped him, shouting, "That's public property! We're security guards, we're here to catch thieves, how can we damage public property? Just send someone back to get the key, we're not in a hurry, right?"

The thieves burst into laughter, and the security guard scurried back to the duty room to get the key.

The two rushed in like lightning. Xu Yan, slightly shaken, asked anxiously, "Liu Jing, what do we do?"

"Now you're worried? What did you just say? It was all your bad luck!" Liu Jing deliberately spat at her.

Xu Yan pouted and remained silent, looking at him pitifully. Liu Jing smiled and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I have a way."

"What way?" Xu Yan's eyes lit up.

Chapter 188 Romance in the Sky

The night sky was high and the moonlight was bright. The city outside the window shimmered in the night.

Liu Jing led Xu Yan to the window, opened it, and pointed down: "See this? I've opened the window on the stairs. We'll go along this path, and then jump in when we get there."

Every even-numbered floor of the Dongxing Building had a protrusion about a foot wide under the windows, with the deep ground floor below, like a small wainscoting peeking out. Xu Yan stared wide-eyed at the pitch-black ground below, gasping for breath. "Okay," she said.

Without further ado, Liu Jing looked into her eyes and said, "Xu Yan, don't be afraid. As long as you don't look down, you'll be fine. We'll hold hands, and if we fall, like you said, we'll both die!"

Xu Yan's eyes welled up, her heart pounding. She shouted, "Okay, I'm not afraid!"

Liu Jing nodded, gave her a firm squeeze on the shoulder, and climbed out the window first. This was only the first step in their escape; there were more dangers to come, but Liu Jing firmly believed that with Xu Yan's courage, the two of them would escape safely.

It must be noted that Liu Jing hadn't anticipated falling for Zhao Tonghai's trick, nor did he know that the large iron gate was locked from the inside and couldn't be opened from the outside. The so-called escape route was merely a pre-planned strategy discovered by chance. However, by a twist of fate, the bald bodyguard, worried that he was hiding, had laid an ambush in the opposite building, allowing him to rush in and carry out his escape plan. In a sense, although Liu Jing had lost the initiative, he had also gained a small advantage. Now it all depended on whether his plan could ensure their safe escape.

The bright moon hung high in the sky. Liu Jing and Xu Yan held hands, feeling the slight sweat on each other's palms. Their hearts pounded, and their backs pressed against the building's exterior wall as they moved step by step with great difficulty. The night wind howled in their ears.

Technically, the process wasn't difficult, but the fourth floor was too high, and the psychological pressure of the life-threatening situation was immense. If either of them slipped, they would both be shattered to pieces.

Liu Jing was incredibly nervous. His heart was in his throat, and he couldn't sweat. As he moved, he kept looking back, forcing himself to comfort the girl with his eyes and a smile. Xu Yan was in much better shape. She listened to Liu Jing's words and didn't look down, keeping her head turned to the side, gazing intently at the person before her. Although she was also nervous, she held the hand of her beloved. The immense excitement and joy of facing fate with the one they loved overshadowed their nervousness.

The night wind caressed their bodies. Xu Yan's hair and dress fluttered wildly, and she occasionally used her other hand to gently brush the stray hairs from her forehead. Encouraged, Liu Jing grew bolder and quickened his pace.

Sha Zheng Biao, thinking he had succeeded, and his group of security guards laughed and cursed outside the door, mocking and ridiculing her, but there was no response from inside, which made him suspicious.

A security guard retrieved the key, which the bald man snatched and opened the door. The room was empty, only the night wind blowing through the empty window.

"Could she really have jumped?" Sha Zheng Biao remembered his romantic promise with Liu Jing. He rushed to the window. There was no one below, no body. He instinctively glanced to the side and saw the two of them standing against the wall, nervously moving towards the stairs, just a few steps away.

"You little bastard, you can't escape!" the bald man roared. He pulled his head back: "Quick, go block them!"

The thieves agreed in unison and hurriedly pushed their way out the door, bumping into each other.

The two reached the stairs safely. Liu Jing helped Xu Yan over and then jumped in himself.

"My god, we're finally in!" In an instant, sweat poured down his face before he could even shed a drop.

The bald bodyguard was leading his men in a sprint, already past the middle staircase. Liu Jing, not bothering to wipe his sweat, grabbed Xu Yan and ran, not downstairs, but upstairs. Sha Zheng Biao was greatly surprised, his eyes widening involuntarily. He really didn't understand why this kid, having finally escaped, was running upstairs.

The bald man didn't understand, and neither did Xu Yan, who asked as they ran, "Liu Jing, why are we going upstairs?"

“They were prepared. The main gate is definitely locked, and there are probably more people downstairs!”

Liu Jing didn't elaborate, emphasizing the objective fact.

“What's the point of going up?”

“We'll figure it out when we get up.”

Xu Yan didn't ask any more questions, grabbing Liu Jing's hand and running upwards together. They chased each other up and down the stairs, their footsteps echoing in the silent building.

As Liu Jing ran, he pulled out his phone and dialed Zheng Lei's number: “Old Zheng, this is Liu Jing. I'm trapped at Dongxing Company. I found evidence of Ideal Group's crimes, and they're after me. You need to come and help me.”

“What?” Zheng Lei exclaimed in shock, “I'm coming right away. Be careful, hold on!”

“Don't worry, I'll be fine.”

After hanging up, Liu Jing pulled Xu Yan along, running all the way to the rooftop exit. He patted the iron ladder on the wall and said to Xu Yan, “Quick, go up!”

This was the ladder to the roof, exiting through a small, one-meter-square ledge—essentially a dead end. Xu Yan didn't understand, but knew she couldn't hesitate. Without a word, she used both hands and feet, climbing up in a few quick movements. Liu Jing followed closely behind.

Just as Liu Jing climbed out, Sha Zheng Biao arrived with his men. He didn't understand why Liu Jing had gone to the rooftop, but he didn't hesitate either, leading his thieves up in single file.

The bright moon shone with a halo, and the huge inflatable airship hovered in mid-air, the wind howling across the rooftop. Liu Jing, holding Xu Yan's hand, stopped in the center of the airship.

Sha Zheng Biao and the others climbed up, saw the two, and stood panting to the side. The two had no way out, so he wasn't in a hurry.

Xu Yan leaned against Liu Jing, looked back, and asked worriedly, "Liu Jing, what do we do?"

Liu Jing whispered, "Don't worry, catch your breath first, we'll get out of here soon."

Sha Zheng Biao, having caught his breath, took two steps forward: "Run, keep running, why aren't you running? Aren't you supposed to be a fast runner?"

Liu Jing didn't speak, but instead flashed a bright smile. Sha Zheng Biao chuckled maliciously, looking at him and saying, "By the way, aren't you going to jump? Go ahead and

jump, I won't catch you, I'll give you a chance." "Don't rush, I'll jump right now, I definitely will," Liu Jing said with a grin.

The thieves exchanged glances, all showing disbelief and contempt. Sha Zheng Biao crossed his arms and said leisurely, "Alright, go ahead and jump, I'll watch you jump."

Xu Yan's eyes flickered, looking at Liu Jing with confusion. Liu Jing smiled and whispered something in her ear. Xu Yan showed an expression of utter disbelief and slowly turned her head.

There, below the airship, the cable and the banner swayed leisurely in the night wind.

Sha Zheng Biao coldly stared at the two of them, and said with a sinister smile, "Jump, why don't you jump? Zhao Cang jumped, Tang Ta jumped, now it's your turn, aren't you scared? Wahahahaha!" The bald bodyguard was so smug that he actually humorously uttered a classic line from the movie "Manhunt".

"Haha! You don't dare, do you? You're just bragging! Are you going to jump?"

"Yeah, are you going to jump? Hahaha!"

The thieves laughed and mocked, their unpleasant voices echoing in the night sky.

Liu Jing glanced at them disdainfully, then pulled Xu Yan's hand: "Choose one?"

The two looked at each other, as if no one else was around, only the night wind. Liu Jing smiled, his gaze gentle, like the moon in the sky. Xu Yan looked up at him, letting the wind tousle her bangs, and nodded firmly: "I choose the vertical forehead."

"Okay, I'll count to three, and we'll jump together." Liu Jing looked into her eyes and squeezed her hand tightly.

"Mm." Xu Yan nodded with a smile.

"Don't try to stall for time! Do you dare to jump or not? If you don't jump soon, we're going to pass by!" Sha Zheng Biao was still nagging.

Liu Jing ignored him and adjusted the hard drive at his waist. The two smiled at each other, Xu Yan gave a positive indication, and Liu Jing shouted: "Go!"

The thieves were laughing when they suddenly saw the two running towards the edge of the building, and they were all stunned.

"One, two, three!" The two ran to the edge of the building in an instant. Liu Jing shouted the three words in a resounding voice, and the two of them soared into the air. Liu Jing grabbed the cable, and Xu Yan grabbed the vertical beam. In the night, under the moonlight, two extremely graceful and elegant figures were revealed.

This was Liu Jing's ultimate escape plan: to use the buoyancy of the airship to grab the cable and the vertical beam respectively, and let the airship slowly descend. Hydrogen buoyancy is great, safer than a parachute. He had made a promise with Baldy to jump off the building, but he never thought it would come true!

"Whoosh!" The cable and the vertical beam were only three meters away from the building, and the jump was a parabola. The two grabbed them accurately, and the huge hull suddenly shook, then swayed and fell.

The cable was thin and not easy to grab, and the vertical beam was wide but easy to break. Liu Jing grabbed the cable, and his legs swung violently with the momentum of his body, moving towards Xu Yan. At the same time, his right arm tightened around the cable, and he stretched out his left hand to Xu Yan.

Xu Yan's skirt fluttered, her legs gleaming beautifully in the moonlight. Her slender figure twisted in mid-air, using the momentum to bravely release her grip. As Liu Jing grabbed her, she crashed into his arms, her legs and arms entwining around him like a koala, clinging tightly to him.

This was their plan, perfectly executed, flawlessly!

"Liu Jing, I love you!" Xu Yan cried, tears welling in her eyes, and kissed his lips.

"Mmm!" Caught off guard, Liu Jing nearly lost his grip and fell.

The cable swayed violently, and Xu Yan reluctantly released her. Liu Jing glared at her, annoyed. Xu Yan stole a kiss, her pretty face flushed, looking at the man before her with a mixture of shy delight and coquettishness. The thieves on the rooftop were dumbfounded, completely stunned. They never expected Liu Jing to escape in such a way. Sha Zheng-biao stared in disbelief, stunned for a long while before recovering. He roared angrily, "Quick, go down and block them! Don't let them escape! Tell the brothers downstairs to open the gate and arrest them!"

The urgent sound of sirens came from afar, and a police car with flashing lights sped towards them. Zheng Lei was indeed loyal; to save time, he had come alone!

The thieves were stunned, looking at each other blankly, not knowing what to do. Sha Zheng-biao also deflated.

Liu Jing laughed loudly at the rooftop, "Haha, you idiots, aren't you?"

The night sky was brilliant, the moonlight sweet. The airship, propelled by the impact, slowly drifted down, also slowly spinning. Xu Yan embraced her beloved, their embracing figures landing gracefully as they spun, the wind blowing around them. This night was so gentle, so romantic.

Xu Yan gazed deeply at the man before her, unable to contain her surging emotions any longer. She suddenly whispered in his ear, "Liu Jing, I don't care anymore, I want to be your wife too!"

Chapter 189 Daring to Love and Do

A hovering airship might not attract much attention, but a descending airship certainly would. In a densely populated residential area, it might be mistaken for an alien landing, especially since the moonlight was so bright tonight, making everything clearly visible.

Zheng Lei drove his North American Hummer at high speed amidst sirens, staring in disbelief at the massive airship slowly rotating and descending under the night sky, and the people embracing below, the bright moon shining behind them—a scene of tranquil romance.

On the other side of the road, a taxi was also speeding by. Yu Xia drove, her eyes cold, her beautiful face tense. The driver, looking distressed, sat in the passenger seat, with Little Tiger holding a child in the back. The two women received Zheng Lei's call and happened to witness this romantic scene in the air.

Little Tiger felt simple: awe and relief. Yu Xia breathed a sigh of relief, but her feelings were more complex. The young man had kept his dangerous journey a secret from her. Initially, she was tense and fearful, but now, relieved, she felt wronged and bitter, and her anger flared even more.

The two landed safely. Liu Jing let go, and Xu Yan released his embrace. The airship, weightless, spun straight upwards. Almost simultaneously, Zheng Lei arrived, and Liu Jing led Xu Yan to meet him.

"Brother, how are you? Are you alright?" Before Liu Jing could speak, Zheng Lei jumped out of the car, looking at the two with concern.

"It's nothing." Liu Jing felt a little awkward and unconsciously glanced at Xu Yan, whose face was flushed.

Zheng Lei let out a long breath, looked at the hydrogen boat in the sky, and gave Liu Jing a heavy squeeze on the shoulder: "You really are something, coming up with this?" He was ostensibly praising him, but his tone was not without complaint, and he also glanced at Xu Yan. As a police officer, he opposed citizens taking risks, especially taking a girl with them.

"Hehe, it was just an accident." Liu Jing was still shaken, but sensing Zheng Lei's dissatisfaction, he quickly said, "Old Zheng, let me introduce you. This is Xu Yan. She's my partner, the manager and accountant of the auto repair shop. Xu Yan, this is Captain Zheng from the criminal investigation team." "

Hello." Zheng Lei sighed and asked Xu Yan with a smile. Although it was their first meeting, Zheng Lei wasn't completely ignorant of Xu Yan. When Yu Xia took Liu Jing to report the case, he had looked at the information on people from Dongxing who had gone to Thailand out of professional habit.

Xu Yan was still shy and preoccupied. She had no interest in socializing with celebrities and simply nodded.

"Oh. By the way." Liu Jing took the hard drive from his waist. "Old Zheng, this is the ideal..."

Before Liu Jing could finish speaking, a taxi suddenly pulled up. It screeched to a halt. Yu Xia, her face cold, angrily got out. Liu Jing was taken aback, glanced at Zheng Lei, and couldn't help but smile bitterly.

Yu Xia walked straight up to Liu Jing and berated him, "Who told you to go? Is that your job? What did I say to you last time? What did you say to me?"

"I, I didn't..." Yu Xia showed no mercy, and Liu Jing was stunned, his eyes darting around pleadingly, like a child who had done something wrong. Zheng Lei smiled awkwardly and didn't say anything, and Xu Yan's face was no longer red. She looked at him with heartache and pity.

Fang Xi paid the fare and then carried Duo Duo forward. Yu Xia's anger intensified, and she grabbed the adults and children, yelling, "Fangxi and I were waiting for you at home with the kids, and you didn't even utter a word, just made up a lie and came running here risking your life! You think you're so great? What do you take us for?"

The moonlight remained gentle, and the night breeze continued to blow. But the wind carried Yu Xia's discordant voice. Yu Xia was throwing a second tantrum. Liu Jing understood her feelings, but remained uneasy, his face flushed as he looked around nervously.

Zheng Lei forced himself to step forward, "Sister-in-law, Brother Liu is wise and brave, and there's nothing wrong. Calm down, let's talk at home. There are so many people here." He couldn't stand it, but he felt even more guilty. He had informed Yu Xia out of good intentions, but he also had ulterior motives—he wanted to take the opportunity to see the little tiger.

Yu Xia, of course, understood a man's pride, but she couldn't contain herself. Hearing this, her anger subsided slightly, but she still glared at him. Taking the opportunity, Liu Jing stepped forward, gesturing with the hard drive in his hand, and said, "Yu Xia, don't be angry. It was my fault. I promise it won't happen again."

Yu Xia, panting, glared at him coldly. Liu Jing glanced at Xu Yan and continued, "This hard drive contains all the evidence of those guys' crimes. They're all finished. From now on, we... can finally live a peaceful life."

"You still have the nerve to say that?" Yu Xia suddenly raised her hand, pointing at Xu Yan, and said, "You risked your life, fine, but why did you bring Xu Yan along? What if something happened?"

"I..."

"I came here of my own accord." Xu Yan hurriedly interrupted, "Sister Qin, don't blame Liu Jing. This matter is also related to me. I was also persecuted by them in Thailand. I also want them to be completely finished so we can live peacefully from now on."

"Even if you wanted to come, you shouldn't have brought her along! That was a life-or-death situation! How old is he? Doesn't he understand this?" The Chao Phraya River incident implicated Liu Jing; Xu Yan was just an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire. Although Xu Yan didn't know this, Yu Xia knew it perfectly well.

"Sister Qin!" Xu Yan's heart pounded with excitement as she mustered her courage. "It's not that I'm being nosy, but Liu Jing... he's always been quick-witted and courageous, but lacks true wisdom. You've been with him for so long, you should understand him. What's the point of criticizing him now?"

Xu Yan's words were ostensibly advice, but clearly revealed her protectiveness and dissatisfaction. When did this girl become so bold? Yu Xia and Fang Xi simultaneously widened their eyes, looking at each other before slowly shifting their gaze to Liu Jing's face. Liu Jing grinned, glancing at Xu Yan without speaking. Xu Yan's question from mid-air had startled him, and he hadn't yet reacted.

Xu Yan, keenly aware of the two women's change, felt more at ease. The romantic experience on the water in Bangkok had transformed her from liking to loving, and it had become an unstoppable passion. Now, the romantic experience in the air—whether walking on the edge of a cliff or leaping from the ninth floor under the bright moon and gentle breeze—the powerful stimulation and exhilaration swept away her years of timidity. She had realized that if she wasn't afraid of death, why should she be afraid of love?

Romance descended from the sky, and she expressed her feelings in the most direct way. Liu Jing was startled, but she didn't blame him, because there were two other women behind him. She wasn't as lucky as Fang Xi, nor as courageous as Yu Xia, but love knows no bounds. She didn't want to ruin other people's happiness, but she also didn't want to run away anymore. More importantly, she understood Liu Jing, knowing he was never selfish. Asking her to help steal was a natural act from the heart, just like with the governor's daughter—at least that's how she saw it.

"You all come out here!" Sha Zheng Biao and the others came down from the rooftop, waving their arms through the gate. Zheng Lei pulled out his pistol, breaking the slightly tense situation.

At this moment, three police cars arrived with flashing lights.

The group came to their senses, looked at each other, and didn't speak. Liu Jing shamelessly stepped forward, took the child, and Duo Duo, who had just been frightened by her mother, felt somewhat relieved in her father's arms. Pointing to the airship in the sky, she said, "Daddy, I want to ride that too?"

Everyone smiled. The atmosphere returned to normal. Yu Xia glared at Liu Jing reproachfully and greeted the detectives warmly.

Baldy waited for the door to open, then slowly emerged. Sha Zheng-biao glared at Liu Jing and spoke first, "Captain Zheng, they came to steal things. We're just security guards, doing our duty, we didn't commit any crimes. Why are you arresting us?"

"Whether we committed a crime or not isn't up to you to decide, we have to go back and investigate!" Zheng Lei suppressed a laugh. With a wave of his hand, "Take them all away!" Baldy's words made sense; he hadn't originally intended to arrest anyone, but since Baldy had brought it up, he had to take them back first.

The thieves looked at each other, then were taken away one by one by the detectives. Liu Jing handed the hard drive to Zheng Lei. Zheng Lei took it and said, "Brother, since this is so important, you'd better come with me to the station to complete some paperwork. It won't take long." "

Now?" Liu Jing looked at the women, "Can't we do it tomorrow?"

Zheng Lei glanced at Yu Xia and said, "It's best to do it now." Yu Xia interjected, "You handed over the item, you need to confirm and sign it, otherwise, if something goes wrong, Old Zheng won't be able to explain himself."

"I understand." Liu Jing suddenly realized.

Zheng Lei nodded, giving Yu Xia a grateful look. The procedure doesn't necessarily have to be done now, but the case is too big. He has to consider it carefully, both for the sake of the case and for himself.

Liu Jing handed the child and car keys to Yu Xia and went with Zheng Lei. Xu Yan led the way, and the three women, with the child, got into Liu Jing's car. The crowd dispersed, and the night remained the same. The Dongxing Building stood quietly in the night, as if nothing had happened.

"Sister, I'm sorry you were frightened today. It's all Liu Jing's fault for acting on a whim!"

Yu Xia broke the silence in the car as she drove Xu Yan.

Xu Yan smiled and looked down at the little tiger beside her without speaking, enduring her pounding heart. Yu Xia continued, "By the way, what happened today? How were you discovered, and how did you get to the bottom of that airship?"

"I...we..." Xu Yan's breathing quickened, and she suddenly looked up, "I'm sorry, Sister Qin, and Sister Zheng, can we find a place to sit down? I'll tell you slowly."

Her home wasn't too far, and Yu Xia's car was fast; time was running out.

Yu Xia and Little Tiger exchanged a glance, their mouths agape, speechless, but they understood.

They had pretended not to see or say certain things, leaving the difficulties for Xu Yan. Now that Xu Yan was about to speak, it was as if the difficulties were being kicked back to them. What should they do?

Though the crowd had thinned, the music wasn't over.

Liu Jing and Xu Yan descended from the sky, witnessed not only by Zheng Lei and Yu Xia, but also by two other people. Unlike Yu Xia and Fang Xi, they felt more despair, a profound despair.

At the street corner, an Audi was hidden in the darkness. Zhao Tonghai and Li Xiang, who had come after hearing the news, sat in the car, watching helplessly as the airship spun romantically down and the bald man was taken away by the police. Both of them were expressionless.

"It's over, it's all over!" Li Xiang slapped his thigh in anguish.

"Heaven has forsaken us, it's not something we can control." Zhao Tonghai muttered to himself, his eyes blank, and mechanically took out his phone.

"Mom, it's me, Xiaohai." Zhao Tonghai's voice was as cheerful as ever. "Mom, I have some urgent business and need to go abroad immediately. Xiaobai... Xiaobai isn't going this time, she has something to do at the company. Hmm, it's uncertain, this trip might take a little longer. Yes, yes, it's the country where Xiaobai and I are getting married. Hehe, don't worry... Mom, I have something else. Listen carefully, there's a savings book in the old sewing machine drawer, the password is your birthday. If you need money in the future, just take it from there! What were you thinking?

I'm just letting you know. Mom, remember, it's in the old sewing machine drawer, the password is your birthday. That's all, Mom, take care."

After hanging up, Zhao Tonghai's tone was relaxed, but his expression showed no emotion, his eyes were filled with tears. Li Xiang had been listening for a long time, his heart sank, his face turned pale, and he grabbed Zhao Tonghai's arm, saying, "Second brother, what are you doing?"

"What else can I do? Let's go!" Zhao Tonghai broke free and smashed his phone outside the window.

"Now?"

"Now of course! Are you waiting for the police to arrest us?" Zhao Tonghai roared, gripping the steering wheel to start the car. Li Xiang froze, then suddenly grabbed his shirt collar like a madman: "What about my wife? What will happen to my wife?"

Zhao Tonghai panicked, struggling twice but failing, then slapped him hard across the face.

"Smack!" Li Xiang covered his face, staring blankly at Zhao Tonghai. Though not calm, he had regained his senses.

Zhao Tonghai sighed, earnestly saying, "Fifth Brother, calm down! If we don't leave now, we'll be executed. What wife will you have if you die? Leaving now is the only way you can live, and only then will you have a chance to see her again."

"Then... what about Bai Ge? Aren't you going to leave her?"

"Isn't that the same as your wife?" Zhao Tonghai's eyes flashed, and he said impatiently.

Li Xiang slumped in his seat, listlessly saying, "So, we can't do anything about Lao Lu and the others anymore."

Zhao Tonghai started the car, his face expressionless, and said, "That guy belongs to Lao Lu. We're safe until he confesses, but the police will definitely be monitoring us. We won't be able to leave before dawn. We have to take advantage of this now."

"Ugh!" Li Xiang was extremely frustrated, stamping his feet and pounding his chest.

"Alright, stop acting so pathetic!" Zhao Tonghai frowned deeply, giving him a disgusted look. "Call your mole right now and tell him to take care of that kid!"

Li Xiang sighed, leaning back in his seat, shaking his head as he pulled out his phone from his waist. He might not be as tough as Zhao Tonghai, but essentially, they were the same—birds of a feather. As

night deepened, the Audi sped out of the suburbs, heading straight for the airport.

Chapter 190 Uniform Double Flight The night was

alluring, the night breeze was gentle, the surroundings were cool and quiet, and the distant streets shimmered with a mesmerizing color. Yu Xia drove through the myriad lights of the houses beside her until she reached Xu Yan's apartment building.

"Goodbye, Sister Qin and Sister Zheng. It's too late, so I won't let you come up for a ride." Xu Yan stood by the car, a shy satisfaction on her face, the moon behind her casting a crescent-shaped smile.

Yu Xia's eyes were playful, and she said with a grin, "You're welcome. Maybe we'll be family someday. Keep up the good work, I'll support you in spirit!"

"Thank you, Sister Qin." Xu Yan smiled shyly, secretly glancing at Little Tiger behind her.

Little Tiger, holding the child, said with a straight face, "You don't need to look at me, it won't do any good, and don't expect us to help you. We're just not interfering, pretending not to know. If you're capable, make him like you; if not, go do what you're supposed to do!"

"Don't worry, I'll keep my promise, and I won't try to steal your certificate." Xu Yan's pretty eyes sparkled, her smile playful and mischievous. The two had worked together the longest at the repair shop, and now that the secret was out, they had suddenly become good friends, much more casual than with Yu Xia.

"You...you have to be able to steal it too?" Little Tiger had suffered a great loss and was furious.

Xu Yan smiled sweetly, bowed her head, and went into the building, leaving behind a clear moon overhead, countless gentle breezes around her, and a heart full of sweetness.

The three women negotiated for an hour. Xu Yan recounted the theft and poured out her feelings. Yu Xia and Fang Xi were deeply moved, yet also felt conflicted. They were moved by Xu Yan's courage in the face of danger—undeniably, this in itself signified love—but conflicted because they were unwilling to let more people be separated, as there were already two of them. Finally, Yu Xia stated: no interference, no opposition, pretending not to know, letting Xu Yan try on her own—in other words, passing the buck back to Xu Yan under the premise of not objecting.

Of course, Yu Xia wasn't stupid. The agreement also had a condition: the three of them must keep quiet and not reveal it to Liu Jing; only Xu Yan could try on her own.

Xu Yan readily agreed. She hadn't expected their help; she just wanted to relieve Liu Jing's worries, reduce his burden, and lighten her own pressure. As for the certificate, she went to the repair shop simply to do something for Liu Jing. Why would she force herself to have more opportunities to be together?

The night was cool and still. Few people or cars were around, only the streetlights on either side stretched brightly into the distance.

Fangxi, holding the drowsy Duoduo, frowned as she looked out the window. Her heart was still heavy. She sympathized with Xu Yan, was moved, and even felt jealous that she hadn't shared the danger with her lover. But after all, he was her husband, and Yuxia had shamelessly taken half of him. Now someone else was going to join them—how could she not be upset?

Yuxia glanced in the rearview mirror and comforted her, "Sister, don't think about it. It's not even close to happening yet. You have to trust our husband. Getting upset now is just making things difficult for yourself."

Fangxi ruffled her hair in annoyance and complained, "How dare you say that? I gave you my husband; why did you agree to her on your own?"

"I had no choice," Yuxia said with a bitter smile, feeling wronged. "She kept asking questions, and you just shrank back and didn't say a word, while constantly giving me meaningful glances. What else could I do but say something?"

Fangxi said with a mournful face. "I gave you those glances because I wanted you to refuse her. Who told you not to interfere or object?"

"What could I do? She's already risked her life with our husband twice. How could I refuse? And you didn't say anything, do you think I wanted to?" Yuxia said innocently.

"You were taking what was mine anyway, of course you're generous!" Even the usually shameless Yuxia couldn't refuse, so how could the little tiger refuse? She could only make a sarcastic remark to settle the matter. At this point, she was just venting her emotions.

Yu Xia couldn't help but laugh, turning back to look at him and saying, "Alright, don't overthink it.

Just remember, don't let anything slip to our husband, and don't say anything good about Xu Yan, not even a hint of sympathy or gratitude. If she wants to pursue him, we won't interfere or object; a cold shoulder is always the best policy."

Little Tiger sized him up, pouting, "You're so despicable! You get all the good stuff, and you still come up with bad ideas. I'm the one who suffers the most!"

Yu Xia couldn't help but laugh heartily, turning back gracefully. Compared to Little Tiger, although she was unhappy, her feelings were much less. After all, he was her younger brother and her nephew; her love for Liu Jingdi contained too much doting.

Fang Xi sighed helplessly and remained silent.

The car continued on its way, and they weren't far from home. Yu Xia turned back again, her expression serious, and said, "Fang Xi, our husband was terrified too. Let's keep him company tonight. Why do n't you

put that on?" The little tiger stuck out her tongue and said shyly, "Really? What?"

"Don't pretend! You've already brought it, what's wrong with wearing it?" Yu Xia scolded her, then added, "Let me tell you, when a man is frightened, he needs to relax properly, otherwise it will affect his confidence! Last time he ran back from Thailand, it was all thanks to me comforting him in the office!"

Yu Xia, shameless as ever, spoke of such sordid things with smug satisfaction.

"You, you really..." Little Tiger wanted to say you were shameless, but remembering all the other bad things she had done in the office, she had to swallow her words.

The car turned a corner under the moonlight and arrived at her apartment building. Yu Xia parked the car, and Fang Xi, holding the sleeping Duo Duo, went upstairs with her heart pounding. Liu Jing had just arrived home and was wondering what was going on when she saw the two women enter. She quickly greeted them, "Where have you been? Why are you only just getting back?"

Fang Xi didn't answer, taking off her shoes while holding the child. Yu Xia closed the door and said casually, "Nothing, just took Duo Duo for a walk."

"Oh." Liu Jing didn't ask any more questions, took the child from her, and casually asked Fang Xi, "Is Sister Meng on duty again tonight?"

"Yes." Little Tiger nodded weakly, still not speaking. It was already difficult enough for her to keep it a secret, and now she had to wear that kind of thing. She was excited, embarrassed, and a little impatient. "It's all that wicked woman Qin's fault," she thought to herself as she changed her shoes.

Yu Xia finished first and asked Liu Jing, "What did Lao Zheng say?"

Liu Jing replied, "He's already reported it, and Director Li is here too. He said he'll analyze it immediately, and if the evidence is true, they might arrest people tonight. Oh, he's already sent people to keep an eye on those guys; now none of them will escape!"

"Good, you've done a good job. Get ready for your bonus," Yu Xia said with a strange glare.

Liu Jing remembered being scolded and smiled apologetically, wisely remaining silent. Duo Duo woke up, looked around groggily, and called out "Daddy." Liu Jing leaned in and kissed her: "Duo Duo, are you sleepy? Daddy will give you a bath!"

"After the bath, put the child to sleep!" Yu Xia added.

"Okay!" Liu Jing replied, shaking his head as he went into the room. Two wives already, and he's still doing these things—what a man's life!

Liu Jing went inside. Yu Xia quickly pushed Fang Xi, "Go in quickly and give him a surprise!" The little tiger, blushing, said shyly, "Really together? How embarrassing!"

"Stop pretending, you're clearly wet!" Yu Xia pinched her bottom and pushed her in without hesitation.

The little tiger's cheeks burned, and she sneaked in like a thief; if she didn't leave soon, she'd really be wet. Yu Xia watched her back and couldn't help but touch her own face. Although she was wanton, it was her first time, and she was equally embarrassed and excited.

Yu Xia went into the room to make milk for the baby, while Liu Jing bathed Duo Duo. The two of them put the baby to sleep together. The night outside was quiet and peaceful, the bedroom light was warm, and Duo Duo quickly fell asleep, her smooth face beaming with an innocent smile, her little mouth still pecking at the pacifier in her sleep.

Liu Jing withdrew his gaze and looked sincerely at the person beside him: "Yu Xia, are you still angry?" Yu Xia had a quick temper, her anger rising and falling just as fast, but she needed an explanation, otherwise she would feel like the matter wasn't over.

"Let it go." Yu Xia gave him a reproachful look, turned around, and crossed her right leg, her face still showing displeasure. Even now, alone with him, she still couldn't completely let go of the anger that had been directed at her husband by outsiders.

Liu Jing moved closer and put his arm around her shoulder: "Yu Xia, I know I was wrong, I made you worry, but I wasn't impulsive. I had a backup plan beforehand, and I only went because everything was foolproof."

Yu Xia patiently looked at him and said, "Let's not talk about whether everything was foolproof or not. I'm not angry about that, it's because you shouldn't have kept it from me. You kept it from me because you were afraid I would worry, I understand, but do you think that's noble, that's manly? We're husband and wife, that's to face everything together, to weather the storms together? You didn't even say a word to me when something happened, how did I feel?"

Yu Xia became a little agitated again, and Liu Jing quickly said, "It was my fault. I won't do it again, I promise I won't hide anything from you from now on." Yu Xia sighed. She glanced at him and said, "Alright, it's all in the past, go on, Fang Xi is waiting for you."

"What about you?" Liu Jing looked at the door and asked.

Yu Xia blushed slightly. She said softly, "You go first, I'll be there in a bit."

"Wow! Then we..."

"Alright, hurry up and go!" Yu Xia blushed and pushed him away. Embarrassment was one thing, but she was also anxious!

The night was deep, the house quiet, an air of ambiguity swirling around. Finally, they were about to indulge in their lewdness together. How would Little Tiger wait? Liu Jing gently pushed open the door. He tilted his head and peeked inside, and was immediately stunned.

Only a small lamp was on, its wine-red light alluring and mesmerizing. Little Tiger sat shyly and fearfully on the edge of the bed, her pretty face flushed, her hands clasped between her legs. Seeing him enter, she immediately lowered her head shyly, her pretty eyes darting around like a frightened little rabbit. And that wasn't all; the crucial point was that Little Tiger was wearing a police shirt, the rank insignia and buttons gleaming under the light!

Good heavens! Little Tiger… she was even into uniform seduction!

The police uniform was clearly made of jade-colored fabric, almost reaching past her buttocks, and unbuttoned. Her white bra and tiny panties shone like paper under the light, her two drool-worthy nipples and adorable pubic hair gleaming alluringly. Her bare thighs, from her buttocks to her toes, were awkwardly pressed together. Unlike the stunning allure of the jade-colored uniform, the little tiger in her police uniform, with her innocent and shy expression, her playful ponytail, and the youthful energy she exuded, was almost lewdly innocent!

Liu Jing stood by the door, mouth agape, utterly astonished. The little tiger couldn't resist any longer and shyly looked up: "Ugh, come in already!"

The little tiger was always so frank and direct. Liu Jing laughed and sat down beside her: "Fangxi, you look so beautiful tonight!"

"It's all Sister Qin's fault for making me wear this!" The little tiger's eyes darted around, then she said awkwardly, "If it weren't for seeing you risk your life today, I would never have agreed!"

Liu Jing laughed: "Heh, I'll... risk my life a few more times in the future!"

"You, you're a pervert..." The little tiger wanted to say "you're a pervert," but before she could finish, she was pushed down, her lover's body pressing heavily on her, her breasts gently exposed, and her hot lips were kissed tenderly.

The little tiger's body went limp, she let out a soft moan and closed her eyes, her jade arms rising to hold her lover, anxiously opening her cherry lips. Ever since she borrowed her husband, she had been aroused by Yu Xia's wicked words; she had been waiting for this moment for too long.

Liu Jing gently touched her, gazing deeply at the person before him. Fangxi seemed slightly lost in thought? She opened her eyes, her bangs billowing like clouds, gathering on her round forehead flushed with a rosy glow, below which were clear, bright black eyes, and plump cherry-like lips beneath her delicate nose.

"Fangxi, you're so beautiful, I love you no matter how I look at you," Liu Jing said emotionally.

The little tiger's expressive eyes, through her willow-like eyelashes, fluttered slightly, then she looked to the side, pouting her little mouth, displaying an incredibly adorable, aggrieved expression.

Liu Jing smiled, inhaling the fragrance of her hair, his nose touching her smooth, round forehead, then slowly tracing across her delicate nose, rubbing against her lovely, smooth tip.

The little tiger grinned mischievously, her arms tightening, opening her little mouth to kiss him.

The fragrance emanating from Fangxi's mouth and nose was wonderful, and Liu Jing's lips were instantly sealed by her soft, round cherry-like lips. The little tiger's soft tongue explored, entwining and swirling around his. The two kissed deeply, Liu Jing sucking on her warm, fragrant saliva, and Fang Xi swallowed it without hesitation. Their breathing quickened, and Liu Jing's large hand slid down, exploring the girl's fragrant pubic hair. Fang Xi let out a soft moan, her brows furrowing, and tightened her embrace. Her left breast, skin to skin, was pressed into a rounded, flattened ball by her lover's strong chest.

Their kiss grew more intense. Fang Xi's brows furrowed, her thirsty eyes began to shimmer, her peach-blossom face becoming delicate and alluring. Her body, concealed by her police uniform, began to heat up, and she shifted restlessly, her two small, white feet tensing and relaxing.

The door opened silently, bringing in a fresh fragrance. Yu Xia had arrived. Little Tiger had obviously known beforehand. Although embarrassed, he was more composed than expected. He gently pushed his lover away, pulled his police uniform up to cover his exposed breasts, and sat silently on the edge of the bed.

Liu Jing, of course, also knew it was Yu Xia. He smiled and turned around, but only for a moment. Her smile froze, her heart leaped into her throat, and her eyes, which had just been tamed and lured by the little tiger, bulged out again, even more so, almost popping out of their sockets.

Good heavens! Is this... really my policewoman, Da Ya?

Yu Xia leaned against the door with her right arm, her eyes sparkling, tilting her head to look at the two with amusement. The posture itself wasn't the problem; it was her outfit. Yu Xia wore a small white cap, her long hair tied back. A few strands of hair casually fell over her right shoulder, her snow-white protective suit open, the left collar draped seductively over her arm, her large breasts nearly bursting through her small black silk bra. Her black thong gleamed alluringly under the light, the pubic hair on either side a vibrant tapestry. Unlike Fang Xi, Yu Xia wore black suspender stockings. Her shapely, long thighs shone like jade beneath the thin stockings, radiating a seductive, sensual glow.

Wow! The policewoman is actually wearing a nurse's uniform?

Liu Jing looked excitedly at the little tiger beside him. Two female police officers, one in black and the other in white, paired with contrasting lingerie, one a beautiful young woman and the other a mature woman, one innocent and the other stunning—clearly a special gift for him! Their first threesome was a night of contrasting uniforms, it was insane!

Liu Jing stared, swallowing hard, and asked, "Yu Xia, where did you get this outfit?"

Yu Xia didn't answer, glancing at Fang Xi, her chin slightly raised, her red lips parted. She stretched the hem of her uniform up and down, then suddenly spun around. The snow-white hem of the uniform billowed as she spun, like swirling lilies, revealing glimpses of her large, shapely buttocks. Most captivating was her gaze, like the flickering flame of desire, radiating a hazy, alluring charm, a pure and elegant light—both blatantly seductive and alluring, yet also tenderly submissive. The entire movement was not only fluid and seamless, but also perfectly showcased the allure of the protective gear, the curves of her hips, the elegance of her long legs, and the slight sway of her hair.

Looking at Yu Xia's haughty yet elegant and alluringly seductive appearance, not only was Liu Jing's blood boiling, but even Little Tiger's eyes turned red, and he swallowed hard.

"Husband, how was it?" Yu Xia asked seductively, her voice full of arrogance.

"Not bad, very good," Liu Jing said, suppressing a laugh and glancing at Fang Xi. Little Tiger was wearing protective gear, while Yu Xia was wearing a police uniform. The two had talked about this before, but now it was completely reversed; the nurse's uniform was on Yu Xia. Clearly, on their first threesome night, the competitive Yu Xia wanted to outshine Fang Xi.

Little Tiger stared at her, unconsciously pouting; she understood Yu Xia's intentions. Yu Xia glanced at her, smiled, and said, "Little sister, I was just teasing you. Why don't you go first?"

"You go first?" Fang Xi said shyly.

"You go first," Yu Xia said, feigning reluctance.

"You're the older sister, you should go first."

"How can that be? You're the eldest grandma, you should go first." Yu Xia glanced at her and smiled, thinking, "If you push me again, I'll really go first.

" "Alright, I'll go first then." Fang Xi giggled and suddenly straddled her lover's lap to undress him.

"You..." Yu Xia sat down on the ground with a thud, almost fainting from anger.

The two women's feigned affection almost made Liu Jing burst out laughing. Yu Xia shrugged aggrievedly and got up to help.

The atmosphere relaxed, the awkwardness dissipated, and the three of them laughed and joked, hugging and kissing each other. Soon, the uniforms for the double flight were gone, and the family returned to the Garden of Eden era, the lovemaking finally began...

The night of the double flight was exceptionally dazzling, waves of love gushing from the waterbed, and beautiful moans rising and falling, until the three bodies, soaked with love fluid and sweat, clung weakly together.

The night returned to tranquility, and the moonlight outside the window shone on the three naked people, and also on the messy bedroom. Black police uniforms, snow-white protective suits, small white caps, two matching pairs of sexy lingerie, torn stockings, and Liu Jing's clothes were scattered everywhere on and under the bed.

The three of them looked at the lewd scene and laughed sheepishly. Little Tiger shrank back, Yu Xia stuck out her tongue, and Liu Jing, catching his breath, generously embraced the two women, smiling as he asked, "How was our family's first time?"

"How was it?" Yu Xia gently scolded him, "It's all for you! Do you know how much effort I put into persuading Fang Xi?" Yu Xia seized the opportunity to claim credit.

Liu Jing said readily, "We're going to live together for a lifetime, it's bound to happen sooner or later, isn't it? Now that it's over, we should relax!" Liu Jing

spoke lightly, sweat still dripping from his face. Fang Xi didn't speak, but gave Yu Xia a look of both heartache and reproach, as if to say, "Look at you, you didn't even interfere with or object to that Xu guy, and the two of us have exhausted our husband like this?"

Yu Xia smiled slyly, tilting her head and winking, as if to say,

"What are you afraid of? At worst, it'll just be a same-sex relationship, right?" The two women exchanged glances, and Liu Jing looked around, saying, "What are you two doing, flirting like that?"

"Oh, nothing," the two women replied in unison.

Fang Xi suddenly remembered something and asked worriedly, "Honey, you said those people will be arrested, will Sister Bai be arrested too?" Bai Ge not only informed her but also helped her see Zhao Tonghai's true colors; Fang Xi was very grateful no matter what.

Little Tiger always cared about others' feelings, and Liu Jing was deeply moved, looking at her and saying, "I don't know the specifics, so it's hard to say. But don't worry, Sister Bai helped us, I'll find a way." He promised Bai Ge that even if Fang Xi didn't say anything, he would still do it.

Fang Xi smiled and didn't say anything more. Yu Xia nudged him, saying, "You can find a way, but you have to explain it clearly to us. You can't keep it from us anymore!"

"Don't worry, I'll definitely listen to you from now on,"

the two women said softly, both showing happy and satisfied smiles. Liu Jing, equally blissful, stretched his arms and said, "Alright, my two wives, I'm exhausted. Go to sleep."

Fang Xi obediently snuggled into her lover's arms. Yu Xia turned off the light, kicked the clutter on the bed to the floor, and pulled the thin blanket to snuggle up to Liu Jing's other side. Liu Jing embraced them both, closing his eyes contentedly.

After their threesome, they both fell asleep.

Chapter 191: Still the Governor's Daughter.

Life is a kaleidoscope; at the same time, in different places, related and unrelated events unfold simultaneously, forming the most colorful and lovely aspect of human society.

On the same night, Liu Jing had two beauties to himself, sleeping soundly with his two naked wives, while the conference room of the Criminal Investigation Team was brightly lit. The command center for the runaway incident was holding an emergency meeting, with a group of people sitting around the table, their expressions ranging from joy to sorrow as they witnessed Liu Jing's actions.

Smoke swirled around them, and Old Zhou, the political commissar of the Criminal Investigation Team, was presenting the case on behalf of Zheng Lei, with everyone displaying different expressions.

Zheng Lei remained relatively calm, maintaining his habitually upright military posture. He was a criminal investigator; aside from solving cases and making arrests, he didn't care about anything else. Director Li, being cautious by nature, was somewhat worried, but his attitude was still relatively good. The Public Security Bureau had performed admirably during the bank run, earning verbal commendation from the Municipal Party Committee. As long as they continued to obey the command, even if some mishaps occurred, their merits and demerits would likely offset each other.

Others, such as the Public Security Bureau's political commissar, the deputy director who also served as the traffic police detachment chief, the armed police detachment chief, Political Commissar Dong (Dong Le's father), and many others in the city, mostly shared Director Li's attitude. Only the commander-in-chief, Vice

Mayor Jiang Yang, was rather frustrated. The Ideal Group's bank run was originally a public security incident, but because it originated from Ideal Group's fundraising, it was classified as an economic incident. Thus, Vice Mayor Jiang, who was in charge of the economy, was unlucky enough to be thrust into the position. That was bad enough; those in charge of the economy inevitably faced jealousy. Jiang Yang could handle it, but after managing to handle things cautiously, this huge mess had occurred. It would be strange if he wasn't frustrated.

“That’s the situation right now. The technicians from the Economic Investigation Department are currently analyzing the hard drive, and we expect to have preliminary results soon.” After saying this, Old Zhou looked at Jiang Yang and prepared to sit down.

Vice Mayor Jiang had little experience with this type of case, and with no evidence yet, he thought for a moment and said, “Where’s the person who filed the report? Call him over and let’s hear what he has to say, to get firsthand information.”

Old Zhou looked at Zheng Lei with difficulty, and Zheng Lei nodded knowingly, giving Director Li a look. Director Li sighed. He could only lean close to Vice Mayor Jiang’s ear: “The person who filed the report is the one who reported it; I heard he’s very close to Vice Governor Guo.”

Vice Governor Guo again? Jiang Yang frowned, impatiently waving his hand, signaling Old Zhou to sit down.

This matter was originally nothing special; handling it well would have been a great achievement. However, the report was relayed to the city by Guo Ting, and the working group was also under Guo Ting's instructions. In other words, if the matter was handled well, it was due to Vice Governor Guo's foresight; if it was handled poorly, it was due to Jiang Yang's incompetence as vice mayor. Especially with the governor and provincial party secretary about to retire, Guo Ting was ambitious. He planned to use this opportunity to make a brilliant move, unprecedentedly competing directly for the provincial party secretary position from the position of executive vice governor. Perhaps Jiang Yang, as vice mayor, would even be replaced by Guo Jun. How could Jiang Yang not be frustrated?

"Damn Zheng Lei. I always have to handle these kinds of trivial matters!" Old Zhou glared at Zheng Lei, cursing under his breath as he sat down.

After discussing the matter like headless flies for a while, the technicians brought in from the Economic Investigation Department came in to report after completing the investigation. "Quickly, tell me, what happened?" Vice Mayor Jiang asked impatiently.

"At first glance, the problem seems significant. About a year ago, Dongxing, under the guise of importing raw materials, applied for 17 million RMB to be converted into foreign exchange. Later, it withdrew the funds under the pretext of a failed transaction. During the withdrawal and return process, this money was misappropriated. A financial company was established in the two countries and registered under the name of Ruan Longsen, the owner of Longsen Mining in Thailand. Simultaneously, Ruan Longsen mortgaged a large plot of land near the Gulf of Thailand to Ideal Group. It can be determined that this is a premeditated case of economic embezzlement. The first installment of 65 million RMB has already been remitted." This was a seasoned and experienced security guard. He explained concisely.

This was just the case itself; there were undoubtedly many more smaller issues. Everyone present was shocked.

"Thank you for your hard work." Jiang Yang, both shocked and relieved, nodded, signaling the security guard to leave, and went aside to call Guo Ting.

Everything has two sides; losing 65 million RMB meant saving hundreds of millions, which in itself was a merit. In an instant, Vice Mayor Jiang's gloomy mood vanished, and he decided to tie himself to Vice Governor Guo's coattails—after all, he was already in this position.

Vice Mayor Jiang cautiously and humbly made a phone call, then returned to his seat, beaming: "Gentlemen, I just called Vice Governor Guo. He instructed us to prioritize stability and handle this incident cleanly and efficiently, especially to prevent it from escalating into a public disturbance. I now order the public security organs to immediately arrest the relevant perpetrators, but be mindful of the impact and try to prevent it from escalating. The working group will return tomorrow to immediately begin the purge of the Ideal Group. I request the armed police to cooperate with the public security organs to maintain order rationally and with restraint, and to control public sentiment."

Needless to say, this was Vice Governor Guo's directive, and everyone readily agreed.

Jiang Yang then said to Li Zhong, "Director Li, isn't Chief Lu of the Economic Investigation Team Lu Yitong's younger brother? This case cannot be handled by the Economic Investigation Team; the Criminal Investigation Team should be fully responsible. Also, you should investigate Chief Lu to see if he has any problems. If necessary, report him directly to the Provincial Department for investigation."

"Yes, yes," Director Li readily agreed.

Vice Mayor Jiang looked around and said resolutely, "Everyone, the time for us to be tested has come. I have already made a pledge to Vice Governor Guo: I will not leave my post until this matter is resolved. I hope everyone will work together to give the people of the city and the Provincial Party Committee a satisfactory explanation."

Once upon a time, pledges of resignation were used to cost many high-ranking officials their jobs, so later generations followed suit. "I won't step down until something happens" became the most popular pledge in officialdom.

Everyone agreed again, and the operation began that very night.

The next day, a bright sunny day. Liu Jing drove to Bifengtang to meet Guo Guo.

Just as he woke up, Zheng Lei called Yu Xia, saying that Lu Yitong, Zhang Jianguang, Bai Ge, and several others from the Ideal Group had been arrested. Unfortunately, the two ringleaders, Zhao Tonghai and Li Xiang, had escaped first.

Liu Jing wasn't angry about Zhao Tonghai's escape; instead, he was surprised and shocked. Zhao Tonghai was cunning and decisive, and having set a trap last night, he was essentially aware of the situation, so his escape wasn't surprising. But Bai Ge was deeply in love with him, completely devoted to him, and yet he would run away on his own—it was utterly shameless! It seemed Zhao Tonghai only had eyes for Xiaohu (his son), and Bai Ge was merely an object to satisfy his psychological and physical needs. Liu Jing despised Zhao Tonghai, felt deeply sorry for Bai Ge, and was also worried. He was thinking of discussing it with Guo Guo when Guo Guo called, and the two arranged to meet.

Although Zhao Tonghai had escaped, the matter was over, and the three of them had already indulged in debauchery together, but Liu Jing couldn't relax, not only for Bai Ge, but also for Xu Yan and Guo Guo. Leaving Guo Guo aside, Xu Yan was currently his biggest headache.

Last night, in the night breeze, beneath the romantic airship, as it slowly spun and descended, Xu Yan directly and firmly poured out her heart—a realization after a life-or-death leap, which he understood. But the situation between Yu Xia and Fang Xi was a result of a twist of fate; how could he bear to let Xu Yan get involved?

Yet, similarly, after that impulsive leap, rejection would also be a profound hurt. More importantly, he had been Xu Yan's confidant, never reciprocating with equal affection. This was not only unfair but also disrespectful; how could he accept it?

The sun shone brightly in the sky. The morning breeze ruffled her hair. The car turned the corner, and they arrived at the typhoon shelter. Guo Guo stood gracefully at the door, her glasses and dimples sparkling in the happy sunlight.

Liu Jing gazed at her beautiful appearance, and couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion. The last farewell kiss had been heartbreaking, filled with tears; now, seeing her again, the familiar feeling and emotions were still sweet.

"Hi, Liu Jing." Guo Guo greeted him as before, but her movements were completely different; she cheerfully and naturally hugged his arm.

"What are you doing? I haven't closed the door yet," Liu Jing said, his heart filled with joy, but his words were insincere.

"I don't care!" Guo Guo said stubbornly, unconvinced. "It's been so long since we last met. I don't believe you don't miss me?"

"Long? It's only been half a month." Liu Jing closed the car door, letting her hug him as they walked towards the teahouse. He didn't usually think about Guo Guo much, nor did he have the chance, but every time they met, it was a beautiful and bittersweet experience, especially since Guo Guo's braids had grown longer, while her face had become thinner.

On the second floor, in their usual spot, with the same green tea, the sunlight streaming through the window, and the aroma of tea filling the air. Liu Jing went to sit in the back, and Guo Guo sat beside him, still hugging his arm. As soon as they sat down, he smiled and nestled against her shoulder.

Liu Jing glanced at her and said, "Guo Guo, stop fooling around, I have something to tell you."

"Go ahead, I'm listening." Guo Guo pushed up her glasses, slowly closed her eyes, her adorable dimples rippled slightly, and her long eyelashes fluttered gently, looking blissfully happy.

Liu Jing felt the fullness of her breasts, held her small hand, and told her about Bai Ge, then said, "Guo Guo, she helped me a lot, can you think of a way?"

Guo Guo seemed not to hear, still with her eyes closed, and asked softly, "Liu Jing, do you think we're having an affair?"

"It's both yes and no, we're perfectly aboveboard." Liu Jing sighed and tightened his grip on the girl's hand.

Guo Guo was satisfied with the answer and finally opened his eyes, replying, "This Bai Ge is quite pitiful, but with such a big incident, the main culprit has escaped, and she's an accomplice. Who dares to let her go?"

Liu Jing frowned, asking worriedly, "She just likes Zhao Tonghai, and hasn't done anything wrong. At most, it's considered knowing but not reporting, it's not that serious, is it?"

"You don't understand," Guo Guo finally left his body, saying seriously, "Don't think that being an official means you can do whatever you want. Even with power, you can only maneuver in ambiguous situations. Who would dare to do something blatantly illegal?"

Liu Jing understood this principle, of course, and his worries deepened. Guo Guo smiled slyly, took a sip of tea, and glanced at him, saying, "However, I still have a way."

"Tell me quickly, what way?" Liu Jing was overjoyed.

Guo Guo put down her teacup, smiling, and said, "I won't tell you unless you promise to kiss me again later."

"Didn't we kiss goodbye last time?"

"But I haven't left yet!" Guo Guo pouted, annoyed. "Let me remind you, our agreement is still valid until I leave. As long as you break up with the sick cat, you have to marry me!" Guo Guo was still hoping something would happen between him and the little tiger.

Liu Jing turned around, took her hands, and looked deeply into her eyes, saying, "Guo Guo, there's no need to negotiate. As long as you like it, that's fine."

Another farewell kiss would definitely be wrong, but the feelings were clear. Guo Guo's persistence left him powerless. Not only was an accident unlikely between him and Little Tiger, but he also couldn't let go of Yu Xia; the two were destined to be apart. Now that Guo Guo was leaving, he was willing to fulfill any possible requests she might have, and he liked it.

Guo Guo's eyes dimmed, as if she felt a little sad. She lowered her head and rested it on his shoulder.

Liu Jing opened his arms and embraced her. The two silently embraced amidst the refreshing fragrance of tea, cherishing each moment of farewell.

"Liu Jing, say you love me, say it again," Guo Guo whispered in his ear.

Liu Jing stroked her short braid at the back of her head: "Say it again? You know perfectly well."

"You've only said it once, do I want to hear it?" Guo Guo pushed him away, pouting in dissatisfaction.

Liu Jing chuckled, "You cried last time, what if you cry again?" Guo Guo adjusted her glasses, smiling and playfully scolding, "Well, you cried first, you cried last time too!"

"I suppose so." Liu Jing smiled, taking her small hand again, "Tell me your plan first, we can talk about nice things later."

Guo Guo smiled sweetly, nonchalantly saying, "It's easy, you filed the complaint against Ideal Group, you found the evidence, you've done a great service, as long as you..."

"Oh, I understand!" Liu Jing suddenly realized, "As long as I portray Bai Ge as a spy or undercover agent who helped me a lot, I'll also do a great service, and everything will be fine, right?" Liu Jing

reacted quickly, and Guo Guo's smug little face relaxed: "Don't even think about doing a great service, but as long as you say a few nonsense words, plus me, she can be exempted from prosecution!"

The governor's daughter is indeed a daughter, even Yu Xia couldn't do anything, Guo Guo actually did it with ease.

Liu Jing laughed, "Guo Guo, you truly live up to your reputation as the governor's daughter; even your mischievousness is so clever!"

"Of course!" Guo Guo blinked sweetly, beaming with pride. "Your sick cat can't do anything but scare people; how can it compare to me in any way?"

Chapter 192: The Lingering Clouds

of Romance Human emotions are subtle; once certain relationships are broken, they can irreversibly affect one's psychology, just like Liu Jing and Guo Guo.

From discovering their love at the Tibetan glacial lake to realizing their marital relationship, Liu Jing felt a mature sense of marital intimacy with Guo Guo, as if they had known each other for many years, from acquaintance to love.

Indeed, many years. Yu Xia had lived there for a long time, and Xiao Laohu was about to register their marriage, but Liu Jing still felt like they were in the throes of passionate love. Only Guo Guo was different; this mellow and deep affection was both warm and painful.

Guo Guo asked him if it counted as adultery, and he said it was both yes and no, it was his true feeling. Their feelings were clear, their physical relationship undeniable, yet destined to end; their hearts were already locked in an affair—this was a fact, undeniable and impossible to conceal. However, this affair brought not beauty, but an unbearable, throbbing happiness.

This love could only be cherished in memory, regretting the folly of the past. Liu Jing and Guo Guo spent most of the morning in the teahouse, deeply in love, before reluctantly parting. Guo Guo went to the procuratorate, Liu Jing to the criminal investigation team; they parted without a farewell, only a goodbye.

The criminal investigation team was in a flurry of activity, everyone tense. Liu Jing went to Zheng Lei to explain the situation.

Zheng Lei, of course, understood perfectly, and without a word, led him to see Bai Ge. Coming from a prominent family, he had seen too many people and things in both the military and civilian sectors, in both the military and police. What were Bai Ge, or even Zhao Tonghai, compared to him? In short, those who commit crimes are minor—this was the consensus, the fact, beyond dispute, and irrelevant to the question of good versus evil.

Outside the interrogation room, Zheng Lei grabbed him and leaned closer, saying, "Brother, I'm fine with this, but this is a huge matter. As the captain of the criminal investigation team, I might not have the final say. You'd better talk to the procuratorate again."

"I understand, thank you, Lao Zheng," Liu Jing said gratefully and sincerely.

Zheng Lei smiled kindly, opened the door for him, and then left.

Liu Jing pushed open the door and saw Bai Ge's slightly dazed and bewildered eyes. There was resentment, disbelief, helplessness, and frustration in those eyes, but thankfully, there was no despair. A glimmer of light even appeared when she saw Liu Jing.

"You're here." Bai Ge placed her hands on the table, gave a self-deprecating laugh, and did not lose her former confidence and composure.

"Didn't we agree on this earlier?" Liu Jing smiled gently and sat down next to her, not opposite her.

The interrogation room had only a small, high window. Bai Ge slowly glanced out, then smiled bitterly and said, "Actually, I was mentally prepared, but I never expected him to leave on his own. I really never expected it. Even now, I can't believe it; it feels like a dream. How could he just leave like that?" Bai Ge's voice suddenly rose. She raised her head, as if accusing him, yet also seeking an answer.

Liu Jing felt both pity and indignation, unsure of what to say. He could only look at her with heartache. Bai Ge looked up at him, her brows furrowed, her once beautiful and charming eyes filled with pain and resentment.

Bai Ge looked at him for a moment, then sighed softly, leaning back in her chair, and said sadly, "Husbands and wives are like birds in the same forest; when disaster strikes, they fly away separately. So this is the answer. It's a pity I've never dared to believe it."

"You can't say that," Liu Jing leaned forward. “People are different. At least you haven’t flown, and you’ve never thought of flying.”

Bai Ge’s gaze slowly shifted back. “Yes, the fact that you came means you consider me a friend.”

“We’ve always been friends.” Liu Jing smiled, unscrewing a bottle of drink she’d bought on the way. “Honestly, Sister Bai, you’re in good spirits, much better than I expected. I was quite happy to see you when I first saw you.”

It sounded a bit sarcastic now, but Liu Jing’s sincerity was undeniable. Bai Ge shook her head with a bitter smile, taking the drink. “Being deeply hurt means seeing through everything. If you’ve seen through everything, what’s there to be disappointed about? It’s just like that, isn’t it?” After saying that, Bai Ge tilted her head back and gulped down several mouthfuls, as if pouring out a bellyful of bitter resentment.

Liu Jing smiled, but didn’t speak.

Bai Ge wiped her mouth and said, "I always thought you and him were alike, but now I realize you're completely different people. I used to think you were like your policewoman lover, then I thought you weren't, and now I think you are. She lost her husband, yet she's still so happy. I only lost someone I shouldn't have had, so I have no reason not to be happy, don't you think?"

"Yeah, that's right." Bai Ge kept comparing things, and Liu Jing was speechless, but could only nod in agreement at this moment.

Bai Ge smoothed her hair and said breathlessly, "But I just don't understand, he didn't even call me once, yet he ran off with Li Xiang. How could I be such a failure?"

Bai Ge was emotional, her words jumping back and forth, incoherent. Liu Jing watched silently. Psychologically speaking, this kind of venting is a good sign.

Bai Ge, in anguish and indignation, continued her accusation: "Liu Jing, you don't understand, this has nothing to do with him; it's all for Li Xiang. But I really can't understand it. He'd risk his life for Li Xiang, and I've been with him silently for so many years without even a phone call. Is his heart made of stone?"

Liu Jing paused for a moment, then calmly said, "People live differently, but they always have something to rely on, especially psychologically. I don't know much about his relationship with Li Xiang, but I feel that Li Xiang is a superficial person, not particularly strong-willed, while Zhao Tonghai is the complete opposite. Perhaps their long-standing friendship has deeply intertwined their personalities; they can only maintain their confidence and strength through each other. So, if either of them faces a crisis, the other will panic. Compared to this dependence, feelings have taken a backseat."

"Perhaps," Bai Ge seemed to find some comfort, letting out a long sigh as she leaned back in her chair. She was a smart woman; she knew Liu Jing was telling her that Zhao Tonghai was a pervert, and perverted feelings are abnormal and irrational.

Liu Jing continued, "Sister Bai, you just said you couldn't believe it. You even analyzed the relationship between the female secretary and the boss with me before, which means you weren't entirely unprepared. You were just emotionally reserved. But now, I think you should feel relieved."

Bai Ge seemed to understand. She gazed at him without speaking, a hint of relief on her face.

Human nature is selfish. Bai Ge had been subtly advising Zhao Tonghai, and even used Liu Jing to strike at crucial moments. Besides jealousy, it was also a subconscious way of protecting herself, not wanting to lose too completely. The fact that she could maintain her composure despite her deep affection being wasted was largely due to this.

"Sister Bai, let bygones be bygones. What are your plans for the future?" Liu Jing asked casually.

"The future?" Bai Ge's eyes narrowed.

Liu Jing said, "I'm partly responsible for your current situation. I told the police that you got the password to Lu Yitong's big iron gate for me, and they agreed to communicate with the procuratorate to exempt you from prosecution. I estimate you'll be out in a few days."

The yearning for freedom is a human instinct, and Bai Ge unconsciously became excited, her watery eyes filled with gratitude and disbelief. She believed Liu Jing would help her, but she hadn't expected it to be so swift.

Liu Jing continued, "Lu Yitong and the others have also been arrested. They'll definitely confess something. Think carefully about what you should and shouldn't say, and just be careful."

"Thank you." Bai Ge glanced weakly at him, then lowered her head. At this moment, she finally felt ashamed of her crimes.

"That's settled then. I'll come pick you up later." Liu Jing smiled and stood up.

Bai Ge raised her beautiful face, her eyes brimming with emotion, and stood before him, extending her right hand: "Liu Jing, let's not say anything more. If I can really get out, I will leave this city, even leave this country, but I... will always remember you."

Liu Jing nodded, and the two shook hands deeply. Bai Ge might have strong desires, but that didn't change the fact that she was a good person, at least that's what Liu Jing thought.

In the following days, the Ideal Group once again became the focus of the city, and a new wave of bank runs began. Fortunately, the official measures were effective, preventing panic, and the investors calmly redeemed their principal.

The police interrogation also went smoothly; Lu Yitong and others confessed to their crimes, and the truth finally came to light.

Several years ago, Ideal Group encountered a major financial crisis. Zhao Tonghai promised Lu Yitong three million yuan in bribes, illegally transferring twenty-five million yuan of Dongxing funds to Ideal, thus initially forming a small group headed by Zhao Tonghai. However, Ideal's crisis was not resolved, and Zhao Tonghai proposed to raise funds from the public at a rate of 100% interest. This move was undoubtedly a case of drinking poison to quench thirst, but Zhao Tonghai, assessing the potential of Ideal Development, formulated a detailed plan to fully repay and terminate the debt within three years through gradual interest rate reductions.

Unfortunately, the plan was disrupted by the greedy and incompetent Zhang Jianguang. Not only did he fail to reduce interest rates as planned, but he also secretly incurred an additional 700 million yuan behind Zhao and Li's backs, forcing Ideal and Dongxing to repay an extra 1.4 billion yuan beyond the plan. This amount was far too large to bear. In desperation, Zhao Tonghai took a gamble, simultaneously repaying the loans step by step while gathering excess funds and devising a plan to acquire and flee.

The plan was perfect, from bribing Ruan Longsen with a large sum of money to establishing a finance company under an alias in S country, to obtaining Ruan Longsen's land in the Gulf of Thailand as collateral, and then carrying out a fraudulent acquisition. The entire process was flawless, but it was destroyed by Zhao Tonghai's twisted psychology. He not only underestimated Liu Jing's caution but also failed to understand Liu Jing's shrewdness. If he hadn't used this opportunity to plot against Liu Jing and hadn't used Zhang Jianguang to frame him, he could have at least successfully fled abroad with hundreds of millions of yuan.

The Western proverb "A hero is defeated by himself" might be an overstatement when describing Zhao Tonghai, but the principle remains the same.

A few days later, the interrogation concluded, and the group of inmates were transferred to the detention center. Liu Jing received a call from Zheng Lei, saying the procuratorate had agreed to exempt Bai Ge from prosecution, and Bai Ge could be released; he would go to the detention center to pick her up.

In the suburbs, the summer sun blazed fiercely. In front of the detention center, Liu Jing saw a taxi in the distance. A person got out, holding a bouquet of flowers—it was Sun Xi, Sun's chief secretary.

"May all lovers in the world be united in marriage," Liu Jing said, slamming on the brakes and watching Sun Xi enter, silently offering this ancient and beautiful blessing before turning around. He didn't know how Sun Xi had gotten the news, but he knew Sun Xi must be very concerned. He didn't know how likely Sun Xi was to succeed, but he was moved and willing to offer his blessings.

A breeze picked up, the sunlight became refreshing, and Liu Jing sped up, heading straight for the repair shop. The renovations were nearing completion, and they were about to go on a trip; he went to invite Xu Yan to join them.

Chapter 193 Like Her,

Bai Ge was released, and Liu Jing finally had a weight lifted from his mind. The widely publicized corruption case involving ideals had completed its preliminary hearing. Such a major case, yet the preliminary hearing only took a few days. Besides Guo Ting's decisive approach, it was also thanks to Zheng Lei and the efficient criminal investigation team that Liu Jing was so grateful.

During those few days of the preliminary hearing, as the person who reported the crime, and especially as the provider of evidence, various departments from the command center repeatedly approached him under various pretexts to inquire about the situation, sometimes up to four times a day. He repeated the same things countless times, yet they remained relentless. Liu Jing was incredibly frustrated and almost collapsed. He finally understood why criminals "confessed readily"—they were being bothered.

"To hell with the sacred obligations granted by the Constitution!" Driving on the highway, the wind whipping against the windows, Liu Jing cursed and swore he would never do such a stupid thing as reporting a crime again.

The tollbooth was in sight, the fields and the breeze receding behind him—the city had arrived. Liu Jing slowly slowed down, his mind returning to peace. Zhao Tonghai and Li Xiang escaped, and the bald-headed "security guards"

were also released without charge, but the matter was over. He didn't hate anyone, nor did he want to kill anyone; he just wanted a peaceful life.

As the car entered the city, Liu Jing headed straight for the repair shop. For the past few days, he had been busy "explaining the situation" and hadn't seen Xu Yan much. Each time, he felt guilty, not out of guilt, but because of that issue. Xu Yan knew he was busy and didn't press him, but her demeanor was a far cry from her previous timid and low-key self, somewhat like Guo Guo after her feelings became clear. Guo Guo had been spoiled and pampered, while Xu Yan had been spoiled and pampered, Liu Jing categorized her this way.

The afternoon sun was lazy, the city seemed to be taking a nap, most of the construction workers had left, leaving only a few quietly painting. Liu Jing parked the car, looked at the brand-new shop, and went into the office.

Xu Yan was enjoying the cool air conditioning, calculating endless accounts on her computer, when she saw him and smiled sweetly: "Liu Jing, you're back?"

"Yeah." Liu Jing nodded and sat down on the sofa. "Where's Fang Xi?"

"She went back to her workplace to handle her resignation procedures. She asked you to pick her up at 2:30 for her driving lesson." Xu Yan replied, pouring him a glass of water.

"Okay." Liu Jing glanced at his watch and took the water. Yu Xia, trying to please Little Tiger, had given him a few intermittent driving lessons, but forgot about them as soon as she achieved her goal. Little Tiger was still getting into it, but he had no choice but to take over the task.

The room was warm and quiet, with only the faint fumes from the air conditioning. Xu Yan's pretty eyes sparkled as she moved a chair to sit opposite him, smiling and gazing at him with a sweet joy.

This girl is at it again! Liu Jing felt a headache coming on. He leaned to the side. Although they hadn't seen each other much recently, Xu Yan always looked at him like that. It was as if her long-term efforts had finally paid off, and she could never get enough of looking at him, not even in front of Yu Xia and Little Tiger.

Xu Yan pouted and gritted her teeth. She plopped down next to him, tilting her head back and continuing to look at him provocatively.

Liu Jing, utterly helpless, couldn't help but ask, "Xu Yan, what are you doing?"

"Looking at you," Xu Yan said earnestly, with a hint of grievance and coquettishness. "You only come for a short while each day, and I like you so much. Shouldn't I make the most of my time to look at you properly?"

"But you shouldn't look at me like that!" Honesty had become a weapon, and Liu Jing deflated. "How many times have you done this these past few days? You were like this when Yu Xia and Fang Xi were here. Only they have good tempers; who else could put up with it?"

Silly boy, I've already won them over! Xu Yan smiled smugly, nonchalantly saying, "Let's not talk about them. The question I asked you under the airship the other day. You still haven't given me an answer. Now that you're done with your work, shouldn't you tell me?"

The Ideal Group matter had just ended, and Xu Yan had finally arrived. Liu Jing sighed and said to her, "Xu Yan, what kind of era is this? You're a perfectly normal young girl, why are you trying so hard to get close to me? Isn't that foolish?" After saying that, Liu Jing glanced sideways and turned away resentfully.

"Does love have anything to do with the times?" Xu Yan was unmoved and looked straight at him, saying, "I like you no less than they do. I've been through life and death with you twice. Why can they do it, but I can only watch helplessly?"

Serving someone's merits breeds arrogance, indeed! Liu Jing patiently said, "These are two different things. There have been many unexpected events between me and them, but we are different. We've always been good friends."

"No, I've liked you for a long time!" Xu Yan said stubbornly, "I've liked you ever since you helped me scold Luo Yun. I've never considered you a friend at all."

Liu Jing shook his head dejectedly: "Xu Yan, I understand your feelings, but there's reality. How will you face your parents? You're their only daughter. Will they allow it?"

"I'll handle my own affairs. I won't make things difficult for you," Xu Yan said stubbornly.

Liu Jing paused. Then he said, "What about me? I'm different now than before. I not only have two women, but I'm also about to register my marriage with Fang Xi. Do you think that's possible?

" "How do you know they'll object if you don't ask?" Xu Yan smiled secretly, a smile that was both cunning and sweet.

"Does that even need asking? They don't even look at you with friendly eyes now." Liu Jing finished his water and put the cup aside irritably.

Xu Yan finally couldn't help but giggle and leaned close to his face: "Liu Jing, let's not talk about them, let's talk about us. Can you listen to me for a bit?"

"Go ahead," Liu Jing nodded slowly.

Xu Yan's eyes narrowed, revealing a poignant yet profound determination: "Liu Jing, you say I'm brave, but that's not true at all. When I told you I like adventure, that was a lie too." Actually, I'm quite timid and often feel inferior. I only managed to hold on when I'm with you because I was afraid you'd look down on me! But that night you said we could just fall to our deaths together, and I really wasn't afraid of anything anymore. I understood everything, I…”

“Xu Yan!” Xu Yan’s eyes were already red, and Liu Jing felt a pang of sorrow, quickly stopping him.

Xu Yan’s eyes were red-rimmed, her small mouth half-open, staring blankly at him.

Liu Jing looked at her face so close to his and said emotionally, “Xu Yan, I understand what you’re saying, and I’m very touched, but is that enough for two people to be together? Let’s not talk about anything else, just the two of us. I’ve always considered you a good friend, and that doesn’t compare to my feelings for you. If we don’t talk about me, do you think that’s fair to yourself?”

At this moment, saying he didn’t love her would inevitably hurt her, but Liu Jing had to say it.

Xu Yan stared at him with tearful eyes. Liu Jing was heartbroken and couldn’t bear it, so he met her gaze with a hardened heart.

Xu Yan quickly looked away, glancing at him indifferently, and said, “Do you believe what you’re saying now? You didn’t even like your classmate, the provincial governor, before? But look at you now.” "

Ugh! You can use that as an excuse?" Liu Jing was speechless, glancing at her as she sat up straight.

Seeing that he was silent, Xu Yan smiled through her tears: "Liu Jing, I'll believe you if you say you don't like others, but saying you don't like me is impossible. Brother Lu and Brother Lin told me about your story with your classmate, the governor, and it seems to me that it's similar. As soon as I arrived at the company, you stood up for me against Luo Yun, and in Thailand you fell out with Zhang Jianguang for me, and you even offended President Lu to prevent me from signing anything. You protect me so much, and you always think of me when things go wrong. You clearly like me, it's just that you're too stupid to realize it!"

"You're just deceiving yourself." Guo Guo was Liu Jing's deepest pain, and Xu Yan's words made him a little uneasy, so he turned his back.

"You're the one deceiving yourself? I've been thinking about this for days, afraid that you'll use all sorts of excuses to reject me." Xu Yan tilted her head to look at him, her face still streaked with tears, yet radiating a playful and joyful light.

Liu Jing sighed, utterly speechless.

Xu Yan snorted softly, turning her head back and saying, "I've said everything I needed to say. Think about it slowly. Anyway, I definitely won't marry anyone else."

"You—you're stupid!" Liu Jing pointed at her nose, throwing down the words before getting up to leave.

"You're the one who..."

"Oh, right!" Liu Jing, confused, suddenly remembered the purpose of his trip and turned back, saying, "You've worked so hard for so long. After the renovations are finished tomorrow, we'll go on a trip with Yu Xia and her team for a few days to relax. Tell them when you get home."

"I'm not going." Xu Yan turned her head away, saying sourly, "Your whole family is going on a trip. What would I be doing if I went?"

Liu Jing said, "Oh, there are two policemen too!"

"They'd just be third wheels. Why should I be the laughingstock for them?" Xu Yan persisted. Liu Jing nodded, then suddenly smiled: "If you're not going, fine. I knew you wouldn't go."

"Hmm?" Xu Yan turned her face away, glaring at him unhappily. Liu Jing laughed, "We're going to the beach, we'll definitely be swimming. You're so dark-skinned, of course you don't want others to see it."

"You, you're talking nonsense?" Xu Yan was embarrassed and annoyed, and stood up abruptly. Fair skin hides a hundred flaws, no girl likes to be called dark-skinned, even if she is really dark, let alone Xu Yan, who has a healthy and beautiful tan.

"Who's talking nonsense? You tell me yourself that you've been a dark-skinned girl since you were little!" Liu Jing spat, patted his behind, and walked away.

"You, you stop right there!" Xu Yan rushed to the door and shouted at his back.

"Then go prove it, I haven't seen it either!" Liu Jing waved in the sunlight, jumped into the car, and sped away.

"Ugh!" Xu Yan was both shy and happy, and stamped her foot in annoyance. The sunlight outside the door shone on her flushed face.

The conversation had been fruitless, and she had almost cried, but Xu Yan was also very happy. Her conversations with Liu Jing were usually relaxed and casual, with little laughter. This time, however, they had gone deeper, even carrying a hint of flirtation—a feeling she had never experienced before.

"This must be love, right?" Xu Yan thought to herself, leaning against the door with her head down.

Chapter 194 Fatal Collision

The weather that day was strange; the suburbs were refreshing, the city was hot, and now it was chaotic. Yes, chaotic, Liu Jing thought.

Xu Yan said she and Guo Guo were similar, yet not quite; the answer was hard to determine. Her feelings for Guo Guo were natural, accumulating over time, erupting suddenly yet silently, like a seed in the soil, nourished by rain and dew, growing little by little until it was lush and leafy. Xu Yan's relationship wasn't as long-lasting as Guo Guo's. The process seemed similar, but Xu Yan's feelings for Guo Guo were clear, and even if they erupted, it was natural. Xu Yan, on the other hand, directly ripped off the curtain and forced herself on him; how could she not be confused?

In the sweltering heat of July, anyone would be confused at two o'clock in the afternoon, not only because of the weather,

but also because of their mood and feelings. In front of the Municipal Youth League Committee, Fang Xi waited with a small bag, still with her round forehead, her cute, tiger-like face, and long ponytail, her expression enthusiastic and eager, seemingly unaffected by the current weather.

"Little Tiger is still the best, straightforward and direct, never repressed." Looking at Fang Xi's genuine and lovely face and her full, shapely body, Liu Jing sighed, also liking her.

"Were you getting impatient?" Liu Jing opened the passenger door.

"No." Fang Xi got in, threw her small bag behind her, and pouted her round little mouth at him.

The two kissed, and Liu Jing asked, "How much more money?"

"More than four thousand." Fangxi closed the car door. "If you resign without being hired full-time, you'll only get your salary for that month; if you are hired full-time, you'll get three months' salary."

"That's really good." Liu Jing smiled and started the car. Two months' salary might not be much, but who wouldn't be happy to get it for free?

Under the blazing sun, the two drove towards the suburban driving range. Little Tiger couldn't contain her excitement about resigning, gesturing wildly and chattering incessantly. This wasn't surprising; her excitement wasn't because of resigning, but because a new life was beginning.

"By the way, did you tell Xu Yan?" Fangxi suddenly asked.

"Yes."

"What did she say?"

"She said she'd go." Liu Jing gave a definite answer without hesitation. Of course, Xu Yan would go.

Fangxi pursed her lips, sighed softly, and leaned back in her seat, looking quite helpless. After the secret agreement, Xu Yan seemed like a different person, constantly bothering her with questions, as if deliberately trying to annoy her.

Little Tiger was soft-hearted and couldn't keep quiet, and now she was even afraid to go to the repair shop.

"What's wrong?" Liu Jing asked curiously.

"Nothing." Fang Xi glanced at it. "I was thinking, we're going camping on our trip, but Sister Qin said they all have single tents, which can only sleep two people at most. Dong Le and Tian Yu will definitely stay together, so who will she stay with?"

That's a problem. Staying in a tent alone in the mountains is kind of scary. Liu Jing laughed, "Of course it'll be you! You know her best!"

"Me?" Little Tiger was quite unwilling, looking pitiful. This question was posed to her by Yu Xia. And the answer was the same.

"I can't possibly live with her, can I?"

"Think about it?" Little Tiger blushed and fell silent. This trip was supposed to be her precious first night, but now that was no longer necessary, she couldn't let that guy take advantage of her.

Liu Jing didn't know the details, but he understood women's psychology, especially since Xu Yan was at the repair shop, so he smiled and said, "Fang Xi, I've thought it all out. Let's quit this society, make some good money in a few years, and then find a beautiful seaside fishing village to live in seclusion. We'll build a big house, buy a small plot of land, dig a small fishpond, raise some chickens, ducks, geese, and stuff like that. Even the gods wouldn't be as happy as us!"

Fang Xi also longed for it. Yi Yi said, "Whatever you like."

Liu Jing was thrilled and gave the girl's hand a hard squeeze. Among the girls, Little Tiger seemed strong, but she was actually the most indecisive, completely devoted to him. Yu Xia would scold him out of worry, but she would only worry that he was alright, and then she would be happy again. Their feelings were simple, but not shallow.

The two chatted and laughed as they arrived at the driving practice area. This place was originally a driving school run by the traffic police brigade, but it was canceled due to the separation of testing and training. Except for occasional use by the traffic police for competitions, it was basically abandoned year-round, but the facilities remained. Yu Xia specially borrowed the gate key so Fang Xi could practice driving.

"I'll open the door, you come sit here," Liu Jing said, getting out of the car with the key.

Little Tiger's eyes lit up, and he excitedly darted over, eagerly waiting for his lover to open the door. Liu Jing smiled, opened the gate, and sat in the passenger seat. Little Tiger stepped on the gas, and the car sped in.

Driving wasn't a very difficult skill, especially with an automatic transmission. Little Tiger already knew how to drive, but lacked experience and was clumsy in his coordination. His so-called practice was just finding a secluded place to have some fun.

Liu Jing happily sat in the passenger seat, accompanying Little Tiger in circles. Little Tiger was still a tiger; although his skills weren't proficient, his courage was commendable, and he drove quite fast. The Renault sped and spun like a nimble beast, the tires screeching against the pavement under the blazing sun, kicking up clouds of dust as it passed.

The suburban sky was a clear blue, the sun shining brightly. The two men and the car cruised around the empty playground. Not far away, outside the gate, a pair of wolf-like eyes gleamed, coldly watching from the shadows.

These eyes were patient, having watched for days, like a hunter tracking its prey.

The sun blazed down, and Little Tiger's excited face was covered in sweat. Liu Jing said affectionately, "Stop for a bit, I'll go buy two bottles of water."

Little Tiger smiled sweetly and parked near the gate. Liu Jing got out, and the wolf-like eyes disappeared from view.

Although this was the suburbs, it was on the edge of the city, and the road outside connected to the highway. Like every July afternoon, the road gleamed white under the blazing sun, with few pedestrians and a flurry of vehicles passing by. Liu Jing found a small supermarket a hundred meters away, bought two bottles of ice water, and drove back. The summer heat was intense. Liu Jing opened a bottle and began chugging water as he walked.

The wolf-eyed figure, hidden behind the gatepost, its blue light intensifying, seemed to await a long-awaited opportunity.

"Damn summer!" Liu Jing, oblivious, glanced at the sun overhead and strode through the gate, still emptying the half-empty bottle of mineral water.

The wolf-eyed figure stared at his back, a cold smile playing on its lips. Liu Jing turned inside; the courtyard wall blocked the view. The wolf-eyed figure suddenly turned cold, then darted out like a ghost, its right hand flashing with a blinding white light—a gleaming dagger.

This ghostly figure was clearly well-trained and skilled in assassination. As it rapidly approached, its left arm gripped Liu Jing's throat, while its right hand aimed precisely for Liu Jing's right kidney.

The blade drew near! Silent! Without a sound!

Under the blazing sun, Liu Jing, chugging water, was completely unprepared. The blade, gleaming with a blinding white light, carrying the grim glint of death, pierced the air half a foot away from Liu Jing! Half a foot away, some things will vanish from the world, like life itself.

Death descends swiftly! Ruthless! Yet cold!

A small man is a small man, just as a brave man is often reckless, while a cautious man is alert. These are the instincts of different personalities. The water in the bottle rippled, seemingly gaining a different color. Liu Jing instinctively glanced at his wristwatch—a life-saving glance, its surface reflecting the shadow behind him!

"Li Xiang's mole!" Perhaps because he had just returned from picking up Bai Ge, or perhaps because he had no other choice, Liu Jing shuddered. Ignoring who was behind him, he twisted his body and lunged forward. At the same time, he delivered a flying kick backward!

The assassin was surprised but didn't care. He raised his knee to knock Liu Jing's flying kick away, then took a lunge, simultaneously changing his left hand from a choke to a grab, and thrusting a sharp blade with his right. Liu Jing intended to save his life. It was just a subconscious action; the kick wasn't the goal. He used the force of the impact to accelerate his twisting forward.

Liu Jing was wearing a silk t-shirt, and the thief, in his haste, slipped and missed.

"Ah!" Half a foot! Still half a foot! Liu Jing screamed and fell to the ground, a gash of about half a foot wide slashed across his ribs, flesh torn open. His internal organs were visible, blood spurting out, instantly staining his waist red.

"Damn it! Is this idiot? Li Xiang and Zhao Tonghai are both finished, why is he still trying to kill me?" Liu Jing cursed inwardly, his waist throbbing with excruciating pain.

The assassin, clearly professionally trained, didn't hesitate for a moment after his attack missed. He raised his left leg high into a lunge, using his right leg as a springboard, aiming to slam it down on Liu Jing's chest. His right hand, wielding a sharp knife, flipped, changing from a grab to a grip, and with the momentum of his left leg's strike, thrust it forcefully towards Liu Jing's lung.

Liu Jing was shocked and quickly flung the bottle of mineral water from his hand.

The assassin dodged, parrying with his right arm, his attack unchanged, intending to stab Liu Jing. But he forgot that one of the water bottles was already open—the one that had been opened. The bottle could be opened, but the water couldn't. With a single parry, he flung water onto his face, the cool sensation pleasant, sunlight filtering through the droplets creating a kaleidoscope of colors.

Taking advantage of the assassin's disorientation, Liu Jing, ignoring the sharp pain in her waist, rolled sideways, dodging another fatal blow.

The assassin, having missed repeatedly, angrily wiped his face, intending to try again, but then saw the Renault, like a black, blue beast, roaring and suddenly hurtling towards him. He saw the little tiger's whiskers bristling, its eyes blazing with fury, even more enraged than the beast itself.

"Ah!" The assassin panicked, trying to dodge and jump, but the car was too fast, crashing into him instantly. He tried to leap, but it was too late; the car slammed heavily into his abdomen.

"Pfft!" His eyes bulged, staring in disbelief at the girl before him—a beautiful, furious girl, the last person he would ever see in this world, blood splattered across the windshield.

"Die!" Stimulated by his lover's horrific state, the little tiger's eyes turned bloodshot. He was oblivious to everything else, still pressing the accelerator relentlessly. "Bang!" A deafening crash, accompanied by the sound of bones shattering, saw the car, carrying the assassin's body, slam into a concrete pillar beside the door. The assassin coughed up another mouthful of blood and collapsed dead.

"Bang bang bang bang!" The little tiger, not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown forward by the force of the impact. First, she was thrown off balance by the four airbags in the front, then slowed by the steering wheel, crashing through the windshield with a bang.

"Fang Xi!" Liu Jing, shocked by the scene, let out a heart-wrenching scream, dragging her bloodied body as she scrambled towards the car.

The little tiger lay prone, motionless. Liu Jing, tears streaming down her face and filled with deep fear, carefully turned the girl over. The little tiger was covered in blood, her hair and white dress stained crimson.

"Fangxi! Fangxi! No! You can't!" Liu Jing's heart sank; he could no longer control himself, shaking the girl and crying uncontrollably.

The little tiger twitched, and Liu Jing's heart leaped. He cried out repeatedly, "Fangxi! Fangxi! Wake up! Wake up!"

"Husband...husband." The little tiger slowly opened her eyes and smiled at him.

Liu Jing was overjoyed and shouted, "I'm alright. Hang in there, we'll go to the hospital together, we'll both be alright!"

The little tiger smiled and nodded, then her head lolled to the side, and she fainted in his arms.

Liu Jing regained his composure and quickly checked the little tiger over. Aside from scratches on its head and chest, there were no other obvious external injuries, which reassured him slightly. He tore a piece of his pants and quickly bandaged it. The car was still drivable, so Liu Jing tested it, deployed the airbags, put the little tiger inside, and secured it. He then took off his t-shirt and tied it around his waist. His wounds were bleeding rapidly; he had to hold on until he reached the hospital.

The impact shook the street, and several people peered out from a distance. Liu Jing, shirtless, drove his blood-stained, dilapidated Renault like a madman. Once on the road, Liu Jing dialed Shen Meng's number. "Big Sister, Fang Xi is injured and unconscious. Get some people and wait for me at the hospital entrance immediately." Weikang Hospital might not be the closest, but Shen Meng was in the emergency room; she would be the fastest to arrive.

"What happened?" Shen Meng exclaimed in alarm.

"Don't ask, I'll be right there."

Liu Jing hung up the phone and dialed Yu Xia's number again. Before Yu Xia could speak, he said urgently, "Yu Xia, listen carefully, I just took Fang Xi out of her driving lesson. She's injured and needs to go to Weikang Hospital. Immediately notify the nearby police to clear the way for me!"

"Hospital?!" Yu Xia shouted, "Honey, what about you? Are you okay?"

Liu Jing didn't listen, threw away his phone and focused on driving, not even checking on the unconscious little tiger.

A few minutes later, two motorcycles appeared with flashing police lights.

Liu Jing's face paled. With the police clearing the way, he drove his beat-up car at breakneck speed, through the afternoon sun, and across the colorful streets. Finally, several white figures appeared in front of him; they had arrived at the hospital. He let out a long breath, slowly stepped on the brakes, looked at the little tiger, and then slumped over and fainted. His back injury was too severe; blood was gushing out, and a silk t-shirt couldn't stop the bleeding.

The scene was so horrific that the nurses were stunned for a moment before rushing over. Shen Meng shouted, "Quick, get another stretcher..."

Chapter 195 Killer Murderer

The afternoon sun shone gently and quietly, slanting in through the window screen. In the emergency room, Liu Jing, with a blood bag hanging from his wrist, lay naked on his side on the bed. Shen Meng finished cleaning and disinfecting, changed into clean gloves, and prepared to perform suturing.

Although Liu Jing's injuries were severe, no internal organs were damaged, requiring only double suturing. Shen Meng found this rather amusing. She had first met Liu Jing in the room next door, and then, in the secluded path after the rain, she had blessed Liu Jing and Yu Xia's love. Now, he had transformed into her brother-in-law, lying in her hospital bed. She was envious that an ordinary person had so many stories.

Liu Jing was still unconscious. After administering local anesthesia, Shen Meng tentatively inserted the first needle.

"Ugh!" Liu Jing's body trembled, letting out a groan, his brows furrowed, and he slowly opened his eyes. The beautiful woman in white before him was stunning. Even though she was wearing a mask, he recognized her as Shen Meng through her clear, bright eyes.

"Don't move!" Shen Meng placed a hand on his shoulder, gazing into his eyes. "I'll stitch up your wound right away, just bear with it!"

Liu Jing nodded instinctively, a look of surprise and doubt in his eyes. Shouldn't surgery be anesthetized? Why is it still so painful?

As if understanding his thoughts, Shen Meng smiled, her eyes gentle. "A back injury is different from an arm or foot injury; almost any movement will aggravate it. Your injury is quite severe, so to help you recover as quickly as possible, I've reduced the anesthesia dosage by half."

This sister-in-law is truly responsible, actually reducing the anesthesia by half—almost like Guan Yu! Liu Jing rolled his eyes, squeezing out two words through gritted teeth: "It's nothing."

"That's good. If you feel pain, you can talk to me." Shen Meng smiled and nodded, adjusting her white robe as she sat down.

Liu Jing, having been unconscious for a long time and receiving a fresh blood transfusion, had greatly recovered his energy and strength. After briefly observing the room, he asked Shen Meng, "Big sister, do you treat other patients like this too?"

"It depends. I'll chat with the patient when necessary."

"I mean the anesthesia. Do you give half the dose for other surgeries too?" Liu Jing asked seriously.

Shen Meng was taken aback. She rolled her beautiful eyes and inserted the needle. Liu Jing's question was genuine, but she took it as a joke. Liu Jing gritted his teeth and endured it; thankfully, it was bearable. Shen Meng watched his expression with concern and began carefully suturing.

Liu Jing watched her elegant and skillful movements before asking, "What about Fang Xi? How is she?"

"It's not easy, I finally remembered to ask her." Shen Meng's beautiful face was taut, her voice tinged with reproach.

"What's the rush? Your expression already tells me."

Shen Meng rolled her eyes. She composed herself and said, "She's fine. Besides the external injuries, she only has two minor rib fractures, which have been treated."

"Thank goodness." Although he had already expected the little tiger to be alright, Liu Jing still sighed with relief. “She got into this mess to save me, otherwise I really wouldn’t know what to do,”

Shen Meng said calmly, focused on her work. “You two are husband and wife, about to register your marriage. You’ll have plenty of time to look after each other in the future, there’s nothing to feel guilty about.”

Marriage meant moving out, and Liu Jing involuntarily looked at Shen Meng. Shen Meng’s expression remained unchanged as she continued, “Fang Xi should move in after you get married. Your house isn’t big, it’s inconvenient for three people with a child. Have you thought about moving?” Liu Jing

said, “No rush. My friend owns a real estate company and reserved a large house for me, it will be ready next spring.”

“Next spring is still more than half a year away, how about this!” Shen Meng suddenly stopped and looked up. “My house is too big, I can’t live alone, how about we switch?”

“How can that be?” Liu Jing was stunned, never expecting Shen Meng to make such a shocking suggestion. That was a doctoral supervisor’s apartment, four bedrooms, three living rooms, and two bathrooms, absolutely huge.

"It's nothing," Shen Meng smiled calmly. "My house is too big, it's a hassle to clean, and it's far from my workplace. I've wanted to move for a while. Your house is nicely decorated, the size is just right, and it's close to my workplace. I really like it."

"Well, okay, I'll listen to

you, sister. Once I get my bigger house, I'll give it back to you." Liu Jing agreed, not to take advantage, but because he couldn't refuse Shen Meng's attitude. "Whatever you want." Shen Meng's eyes flickered as she glanced at him. "But, do I have to stay in your house?"

"Sure, stay wherever you want, even for your wedding." Liu Jing started to talk back glibly.

"You..." Shen Meng frowned and gave him another injection.

Clearing up the initial misunderstanding, chatting with Shen Meng was always pleasant, greatly reducing Liu Jing's physical pain. The afternoon was gentle and long, the ward was quiet, and the two talked about everyday things until the surgery was over.

Shen Meng got up, removed her mask, stared at his exposed genitals, and sighed, "It seems you didn't listen to me at all?"

"What did I say?" Liu Jing didn't react.

Shen Meng brought her face close to his and said, word by word, "Excessive indulgence."

Liu Jing blushed, realizing that Shen Meng had been operating on his genitals the whole time, and awkwardly said, "Um, the medicine you gave me, I've been taking it!"

"Medicine is an aid, moderation is key." Shen Meng pulled the blanket up for him and carefully instructed, "Take advantage of this injury to recover properly, and be careful in the future."

"Okay, okay, I'll be careful in the future." Liu Jing's attitude was sincere, but he secretly smiled bitterly to himself.

The older girl has two holes, and the younger tiger still wants to eat; how could he be careful?

After finishing, Shen Meng called a nurse and pushed Liu Jing to the ward.

"Husband!" As soon as the bed was out of the room, Yu Xia rushed over.

"Oh, I'm fine..." Liu Jing, with his back injury, could only lie on his side. He turned around and saw Yu Xia's disfigured face. "Yu Xia, I'm alright, don't be like this!"

Yu Xia grabbed his hand, tears streaming down her face, crying like a child.

Shen Meng was deeply moved and leaned over to Liu Jing, saying, "When Captain Qin arrived, we were just carrying you out of the car. He fainted when he saw you."

Liu Jing understood Yu Xia's feelings and held the woman's hand tightly: "Yu Xia, I'm perfectly fine, why are you crying? How could my older sister, who performed the surgery herself, be wrong?"

Yu Xia remained silent, her head bowed, tears streaming down her face. Her long hair partially obscured her beautiful face, and her heaving shoulders resembled a frail butterfly. The past can make one strong, but it can also make one vulnerable. Yu Xia didn't want to, but she couldn't help it; the pain of losing her husband made her unable to withstand any further shock or blow.

The young nurse watched with concern, while passersby cast strange glances. Shen Meng comforted her, "Sister Qin, Liu Jing is alright. He'll be fine after a period of rest. Don't be sad. Let's take him back to his ward for his treatment."

Yu Xia wiped away a tear, wiping her face with her arm, and took the bedside handle. Shen Meng gently waved her hand, and the young nurse silently withdrew. The two pushed the bed towards the elevator. As

the three entered the elevator, Yu Xia continued to wipe away her tears, while Shen Meng stood quietly to the side, watching this strange couple. Liu Jing said softly, "Yu Xia, don't cry. Your older sister will laugh at you."

Yu Xia smeared some face powder haphazardly and said aggrievedly, "What's there to laugh at? Aren't you my husband anymore?"

Shen Meng smiled gently. Liu Jing glanced at her and said awkwardly, "Who said I'm not your husband? Fang Xi is also injured. Didn't you say you'd go see her?"

"Who said I didn't go? I only came back because she's alright!" Yu Xia said, her eyes still wet with tears, looking even more aggrieved. Shen Meng interjected, "Sister Qin has been with you the whole time. She even brought Fang Xi to the ward. She cares about you both the same."

"Not at all. He's the one I care about the most." Yu Xia retorted crisply as soon as Shen Meng finished speaking. Liu Jing was speechless, and Shen Meng gave Liu Jing a wry smile and shrugged. Yu Xia's emotions calmed down slightly. She pouted and said, "Honey, please don't get into any more trouble, I'm so scared!"

"What could possibly happen?" Liu Jing laughed, "Unless there's another mole in the Ideal Group!"

"Go away! Don't talk nonsense!" Yu Xia quickly punched him on the shoulder.

Liu Jing suddenly remembered something and said urgently, "By the way, Yu Xia, about that scene..."

"Zheng Lei came by earlier, Fang Xi already told us the situation, and Lao Zheng is on his way."

"That's good." Liu Jing didn't say anything more. The assassin was smashed into a pulp by Little Tiger. He

was mangled beyond recognition, a gruesome sight. I wonder how Zheng Lei would feel if he saw it.

Shen Meng arranged a double VIP ward, complete with a TV, floor, bathroom, and even a folding bed for a family of three, carefully considering their situation.

"Honey!" Little Tiger's head was wrapped in gauze. He was lying in bed receiving an IV drip when the door opened, and he happily waved his left hand. Unlike Yu Xia, Little Tiger absolutely believed his lover would be alright, showing no grief whatsoever, but rather extraordinary pride.

"Fangxi!" Liu Jing's eyes burned with excitement, his heart pounding with anticipation. Seeing the lively and adorable little tiger again felt like a lifetime had passed. Life is truly wonderful when you have someone you love!

Yu Xia and Shen Meng exchanged smiles, preparing to move Liu Jing to the bed. Suddenly, Liu Jing said, "Wait! Move that little table out and put the two beds together!"

Shen Meng's eyes widened, and she looked at Yu Xia again. Yu Xia glanced at the little tiger and said sourly, "Fine, let's move it. They're a perfectly legitimate couple, and it's rare for them to get injured together; they should be happy!"

The little tiger secretly smiled and playfully stuck out its tongue. She was overjoyed to have personally rescued her beloved. She had always been jealous of Xu Yan and her lover's adventurous experiences; now she felt incredibly proud, even more so than Xu Yan!

Moving the bed was one thing, but moving a man after surgery was no easy task. Fortunately, Yu Xia was strong, and with Shen Meng's help, she managed to lift him over with a burst of strength.

Liu Jing had just lain down when Little Tiger's free hand reached out, which Liu Jing took. The two held hands, gazing tenderly into each other's eyes. The sun was setting, the evening glow shimmering red outside the window, illuminating the beautiful scene inside.

Yu Xia, consumed by jealousy, was furious. Shen Meng smiled at the family, deeply moved. As Little Tiger's older sister, she harbored some resentment towards Yu Xia, but now she was touched by the three's care, humor, and warmth, deeply feeling the happiness of this family.

Shen Meng hung up Liu Jing's medicine bag, left a hospital gown behind, and tactfully withdrew. With Shen Meng gone, only the happy family remained in the room. The little tiger glared at Yu Xia, beaming, "Sister Qin, I saved our husband, I did a great service, how are you going to thank me?"

"Thank me for what?" Yu Xia sat on the edge of the bed, glaring at him, and said irritably, "Why did you have to learn to drive now of all times, leaving me to take care of you two little brats!"

The little tiger looked at his lover, chuckled, and said, "Who told you to stop teaching halfway? If it weren't for me, you'd be a widow again!"

"You..." Yu Xia was embarrassed. "If it weren't for your husband, would I be all yours? All these troubles are because you provoked that Zhao guy, you little vixen!"

Fang Xi was happy and didn't care at all. She was about to say something more when Liu Jing, sensing the affection between the two women, interrupted with a smile, "Yu Xia, stop fooling around. Go back and settle the child's affairs, and get me a change of clothes. The hospital gown is too hot; I can't wear it."

Yu Xia glared at the little tiger and nodded, "I'll go back now. I'll be back after I finish cooking. If you need anything, just ring the bell. Shen Meng said she won't be home for the next few days."

Liu Jing responded, and Yu Xia left reluctantly.

The evening breeze was gentle and comfortable. Yu Xia tidied her hair, smoothed her tear-streaked face, and prepared to get on her motorcycle and leave when her phone suddenly rang. It was Zheng Lei from the criminal investigation team.

"What's up, Lao Zheng?" Yu Xia answered.

Zheng Lei hesitated for a moment, then said heavily, "We've investigated the scene and brought the people back, but we haven't found the murder weapon."

"What! We haven't found the murder weapon?!" Yu Xia exclaimed in shock.

Zheng Lei quickly said, "Sister-in-law, don't worry. I've expanded the search area and mobilized all the police stations to find eyewitnesses. I called to ask you if I'd missed any details, or... misremembered anything?"

"How could that be? It's such a small matter, such a small place?"

"That's true." Zheng Lei felt very guilty. The undercover agents had been keeping a close watch, but seeing the case closed and Zhao Tonghai and Li Xiang escape, he withdrew them. He never expected such a big thing to happen.

"But... but who could have taken that kind of thing?" Yu Xia stamped her feet anxiously.

"Logically, no one would have taken it." Zheng Lei was also extremely anxious.

Yu Xia composed herself and asked again, "Has the deceased's identity been confirmed?"

"Yes, no prior criminal record."

"What about the family?"

"We've sent someone to notify them."

Yu Xia's heart sank further. She pressed the phone to her lips and asked, "Can you prove the relationship with Li Xiang?"

"Currently... not yet." Zheng Lei couldn't bear to say more.

Yu Xia panicked, her eyes filled with worry. Zheng Lei said urgently, "Sister-in-law, I also bear responsibility for this. Don't worry, your family's affairs are my affairs. I will never let anyone in your family get hurt. I will definitely solve this case!" Yu

Xia felt slightly relieved and, after calming down, asked again, "What do you think might have happened?"

Zheng Lei pondered, "Given the circumstances, Liu Jing wouldn't have thought of using the murder weapon as evidence. Secondly, ordinary people are afraid of trouble; no one would take such a thing. I analyze that it might be a double conspiracy. One murder was aimed at Liu Jing, and another was secretly aimed at Miss Zheng? Liu Jing took Miss Zheng to the hospital, and he sneaked out to take the murder weapon to frame someone else."

Yu Xia's face turned pale with shock, and she looked helplessly upstairs. If this were true, the consequences would be unimaginable.

The killer is dead. The only evidence in Liu Jing and Fang Xi's confessions is the murder weapon. If they insist on their original confessions without the weapon, the victim's family might counter-charge them with intentional homicide. Furthermore, Fang Xi didn't have a driver's license, which would still constitute a serious traffic accident. Fang Xi, full of love and courage, cannot accept either of these outcomes. Even more worrying is that, in principle, neither the murderer nor the hit-and-run driver is allowed bail. In other words, if Fang Xi is discharged from the hospital and the murder weapon is still not found, Xiao Laohu (Liu Jing's nickname) may face imprisonment.

Yu Xia remained silent for a long time. Zheng Lei said resolutely, "Sister-in-law, cheer up! I'll say it again: I won't let anyone in your family get hurt. I will definitely solve this case!" "

Thank you, Lao Zheng," Yu Xia said blankly.

Zheng Lei thought for a moment and said in a deep voice, "Sister-in-law, Brother Liu and Miss Zheng are still young and impatient. Don't tell them about this yet. Let them focus on recovering. At worst, I won't leave the hospital until I solve the case. I, Zheng Lei, will bear any pressure!"

"I know, thank you so much, Lao Zheng," Yu Xia felt a little relieved. Staying in the hospital was only a temporary measure, but it was the only option, and the best one at the moment.

After hanging up the phone, Yu Xia's arm fell limply to her side, the wind ruffling her desolate eyes and hair.

The case was unexpected. If it really was a conspiracy, then it was terrifying. Openly killing Liu Jing, and not even letting Fang Xi go, Yu Xia realized the consequences of Zhao Tonghai's escape. She just couldn't understand how there could be such people in the world? They've already run away, why can't they let people live in peace?

The sunset was beautiful, painting the sky with vibrant colors. Yu Xia rode her bicycle through the bustling streets, her mind gradually opening up. On her first night with the young man, the sunset was just like this. She remembered Liu Jing's words: "Forever and ever, every morning and every night, watching the sunset together for a lifetime.

" "No, I can't let him succeed!" Yu Xia's gaze hardened again, her resolve burning like a raging fire, and her motorcycle roared off at high speed.
